A
Pineapple on pizza, yes or no?
B
Absolutely not. Don't even bring it near me. If you're going to order a pizza and you're ask me if I want to slice and there's pineapple on the pizza, I'm going to throw the whole box.
A
Absolutely not.
B
It's kind of rude. Absolutely not. Don't.
A
Absolutely is kind of like you're being.
B
No, it's not. That's how you're going to throw the
A
whole box of pizza away?
B
Yes. I can't do fruit, like, on my food, like near my food, touching my food. There's no.
A
And then it just has pineapple.
B
I promise you, I'm not meat lovers.
A
And then they put pineapples.
B
Then it's not really a meat lover because you did too much.
A
What's up, everyone? And welcome back to Post Moves. I'm Candice Parker, here with my co host, AB Aaliyah Boston.
B
That's me. I feel like I should sing.
A
Let's not start.
B
But I didn't really have a song on the top of my head, so maybe I'll hold off. But, you know, we'll see.
A
Well, anyway, follow us at postmoose show on all socials and don't forget to
B
subscribe on YouTube, Spotify, Apple, wherever you get your podcast. New episodes Shop every Wednesday, so make sure you're tuning in. We don't play around.
A
Okay, before she starts singing, how was your week?
B
My week was great. Okay, Phantom got the Dubskis. I've been chilling with my dog. I mean, I've just been having a calm, cool, collective week. You know how I get down. And I've been watching Night Agent just came out. And paradise just came out. The new season today.
A
Okay, time out. I'm on the first season of Paradise.
B
Do not tell me the first season in general.
A
Oh, my gosh. I feel. I feel awful. I was so late.
B
You're playing around.
A
I'm on episode three. I am all in.
B
Just wait. Just wait.
A
So excited to continue. So please do not spoil it. Do not be the spoiler.
B
It's fine. I won't. I mean, I'm about to start season two today, but it's like, I'm kind of torn between, like, do I finish Night Agent first before I get to
A
paradise, or do I just keep switching,
B
like, back and forth?
A
No, finish it so that we can watch it possibly together.
B
I. Okay, but I binge like.
A
Oh, I can't binge because I have not dog children. I have real children that say mom and need things.
B
Hey, Ozzy. Basically says that.
A
Yeah, well, you called me in a dog mom panic this week. That was great. How'd Ozzy like the food?
B
He loves it.
A
I'm so.
B
It's his favorite thing ever. And now we're on like a feeding schedule too, so we're really.
A
Yeah. Hey, listen, post ups hit me up. I know we asked for questions about basketball, but I got this mom thing on lock B. Put him to sleep for naps, got my niece to nap and sleep all night. Now I got Ozzy to eat dog food. And cuz he was, you know, throwing a fit with Aaliyah. So hit me up on the hotline. That's what I'm doing now that I'm retired. Hey, I saw that you were on a boat with K and Lexi.
B
Oh, yes.
A
Question. Did. Did Sophie organize the yacht? Did Sophie organize?
B
She was. You know, she didn't. She didn't. But it would have been great. Cuz that would be her 9 to 5. I could see that. I want you to know I got so many texts saying, Aaliyah, I don't think you really understand a 9 to 5 because some of the jobs you
A
were listening to, everyone was hitting me up and I was like, but now it's fluid. Nine to five is fluid.
B
Exactly. Exactly. I was like, don't hate on me. I was like, I can do for you.
A
Selling yachts. Could be a 9 to 5.
B
It literally could be you have to wake up early, get out there.
A
Owning a nail salon.
B
Exactly.
A
See, I think all of that is. But it looked really cool. You had a team dinner with, you know, my squad, Kelsey Mitchell, Ari and others.
B
Everyone was there.
A
Kk man, life has changed the WBA since I've been in it. This is crazy. You're sailing Miami. We were just trying to get two more dollars for per diem.
B
We're still trying to get that looking.
A
Yeah, I. I see that. That's. We're going to talk about that later. Also, you guys obviously have. Have had great weather. So to all of the people on the east coast that are going through snowstorms and temperature changes, it's crazy. Just want want you to know that the south Miami's great. LA. 78 degrees today. It's great.
B
Oh my.
A
Sorry. Splash wants to make an appearance, but he doesn't bark when he makes appearances.
B
Have you heard my dog? Have you heard anything from Aussie so far?
A
Not yet, but you won't hear anything else.
B
He's not here.
A
Yes, because he's not here because you learned exactly why.
B
Yeah, because you learned with some friends.
A
God.
B
I just have a question, though.
A
What's up?
B
I know you love your Chicago Bears, right? But how do you feel about them maybe moving to Indy?
A
I don't want to talk about it.
B
Oh. But I do. So this is what I was saying. So how do you feel about them potentially moving to Indy? Whoa. Whoa.
A
Well, I mean, there are other teams that don't play where they're from, like the jets, you know, the Nets for a really long time. I don't like it, so I don't really want to talk about it. So it's not what we want to talk about. So can we transition to what we want to talk about? Because I don't want to talk about that. I really want to talk about the fact that I took my sons to the Clippers game. My brother is in town. My brother is in town. He's the GM for the Orlando Magic. Orlando Magic. We're playing the Clippers at Intuit. It was my second time at Intuit, which is an amazing arena. Like, everything's so futuristic. It took forever for us to just get, like, I missed physical tickets for a second because Anya didn't put her face ID on the app. And so when you walk in, it scans your face, and that's how it knows how many tickets you have. So we stood there for like 15 minutes while she set up the face thing. And I was like, but we have the tickets. She's like, we can't scan them. And I'm like, this makes no sense.
B
That's actually crazy.
A
So nobody over the age of 45 probably can figure out how to get to into it. So they're keeping the median age and the mean down in terms of their vans. But it was a great experience. I mean, the. The scoreboard and just like, the interaction with the fan and the constant, like, just, you know, there's always something to do. And so I really enjoyed. I really enjoyed the experience. And the Magic got the win. So it was a win for the family. My sons loved it. Heart was looking at all the stuff, like saying, ball, we got back home. It was like 9:30 at night, and we got back home and he goes to bed on the.at 8pm every night. He was up playing hoops until like, 10, 15 at night.
B
So he got past his bedtime too. He was feeling it.
A
Yes. Like, and he just kept being like, ball, no, night, night. And just getting buckets. So of course I'm like, stay up as long as you want to get buckets. But we had A great experience. I love. I don't know, I just enjoy taking my family to the game. So we had a good time.
B
So nice. Invite me next time.
A
I got you. When you're not like putting people in the blender and knocking down threes. I got you.
B
Okay. We could figure that out.
A
And the Olympics, I must say, I did not get up at 5am West coast time to watch the gold medal game on Sunday. However, the USA men's hockey team beat Canada 2 to 1 in overtime to win their first hockey gold since 1980. Miracle on Ice. I remember going to watch that movie with my team to hype us up for the championship when it came out years later, but 46 years to the day. Aaliyah.
B
I mean, that's pretty dope. That's pretty dope. I didn't. I wasn't, you know, chilling in 1980,
A
but I mean, I wasn't alive either. I'm so.
B
I know, but still.
A
But I'm a miracle.
B
You've watched Miracle.
A
Yeah, but have you watched the movie Miracle? Please say you have. If you have not. That's your homework. Binge that. It's such a good movie.
B
But I'm in the middle of.
A
Okay, but you can, like for a little bit on your, you know, chilling. I don't know what you're doing. But in between when you're watching your shows, because that. When he like, comes in, the coach comes in and they're like hitting. I'm sorry, it's a spoiler alert. Post ups. But they're, you know, they're running, like, doing basically like suicides. And the coach is like, who do you play for? And they're all saying they're individual teams. And so finally somebody stands up. The captain of the team is like, I play for the United States of America. And then they don't have to run anymore. And it's like, it's this moment where it's like, you, you. Yeah, it gets me hyped every time. So anyway, Jack Hughes had the game winner, USA's third ever gold medal. Men's hockey. Congratulations.
B
Yeah, that's pretty dope. Remember, I mean, we were talking about hockey last time and I just don't think I could do it. Like, that's.
A
Man, you could definitely do it. What are you talk.
B
No, I.
A
Literally nobody else would want.
B
Because I'm saying if they hit me, it's like, why would you do that?
A
Yes, but you're gonna deliver most of the hits. Well, then that's.
B
First of all, first of all, please,
A
I'M just saying, like, just from your scouting report on the basketball court, I think you'd be fine playing hockey. Gonna go out on a limb and say that. Speaking of women's hockey, the women won in almost the same fashion. Also won 2 to 1 in OT over Canada. Canadians just. I know, they just be stacking gold.
B
They take a hit every time, stacking golds.
A
But now they got a silver. It's first time in Olympic history that USA team swept gold medals in men's and women's hockey. We are back. We are back in the Winter Olympics. And shout out to Layla, not my daughter. Layla Edwards on the women's team made history twice. She is the 22 year old Ohio native made history as the first black female. Yes. This is 2026. This is crazy. First black female hockey player to represent the US at the Olympics.
B
That's so bananas.
A
And then eight days later, she became the first black American woman to win a gold medal in women's hockey during Black History Month.
B
Yes. Yes. That's what we love right there.
A
And Layla had an assist in the game. Tying goal with 2 minutes and 4 seconds remaining. You have to see it to be it. I think Layla is going to inspire a number of other young black women to try to play hockey. Maybe Aaliyah.
B
Not this one.
A
You're not going to. Not that one.
B
No, no, no, no, no. Not this one. Maybe another Aaliyah, though.
A
Okay, well, I feel inspired. I'm not going to lie. I really do. I feel inspired. So there's going to be others, but congratulations to Layla for being the first and, you know, opening that door unrivaled. Recap. We gotta get into it.
B
Phantom with the Dubskis. That's how we should start it.
A
Okay, well, that was a game against the Laces. Tiffany Hayes with the slide, with the game winner smiling at the camera. She always knows where the camera is.
B
She's so funny, yo.
A
She's hilarious.
B
So funny. And then T. Cloud came in and she slid, too. I was like. We were talking about it yesterday. I was like, I couldn't really slide because I'd had to hit like a U turn because I was already, like, standing near the camera. I was like, you guys are just. That's a guard thing.
A
Can I just tell you the more that. So I've competed against Tasha Cloud since she's been in Washington, right? Like, and I always really liked her. Like, she was my guard because there aren't a lot of amazing point guards in the wnba. Like, you have good ones, but the Ones that stand out to me, especially early on, like Tasha Cloud. Man, she was always a Hooper, always knew how to ran the squad, always came in and did what was necessary. So I've always respected her career, but I feel like the more I watch her even more, the more I'm like, man, I just really would want to play with her because I love her. She just does all the little things. She's great.
B
Her energy is different.
A
Her energy. She cares about stuff outside of the lines of basketball as well. Um, yeah. So I just. I've become an even bigger fan of T. Cloud. You know what I loved watching in your game versus the Laces on Friday was that one v one matchup, AB versus AT yo, when I tell you, this battle right here,
B
it was good. It was fun.
A
Do you know how hard it is to make an engine, like, fall? Like, to put an engine in a basket is really difficult?
B
I'm figuring it out, okay? I'm figuring it out.
A
And hasn't always been playing with your pace, dude. Like, can we just talk about that? That's as hell, boy.
B
Fast as hell, boy. That should have been a one, to be honest.
A
No, but a B. I. I really don't. And I don't know if you saw my pregame show, because you were. No, you weren't playing when I did the pregame show. When I did the pregame show for tnt, they asked, what player has not surprised you, but has come out as gotten better from three on three and is looking to, like, you know, be in position to continue to grow? And you were that player that I talked about because last year we saw your ability to have the ball in your hands, but this year, it's like you're playing at your pace. And when someone masters that, they're like, it's like playing chess versus playing checkers. Like, you are literally playing at your own pace. And I'm just. Thanks. We're just back here just smiling. What? What is it, man?
B
I don't know. I think I'm just, like, starting to figure it out slowly but surely. I think just comes with reading. Just reading the defense. Like, I'm not just premeditated. Like, I'm taking my time now, and I think that's helping me a lot because I'm like, okay, you caught it. Now let's look, let's see, and let's go to work. Yeah. All right.
A
Well, you're doing that. Another double double. 16 points. Oh, boring. 12 rebounds, two block shots. You're leading the league in block shots. You've surpassed 300 career points. And then Sunday versus the Hive. Really not a game from the get go. Phantom 1 8466. You led the team with a. You didn't have a double double. I'm disappointed. I know you had 25 points, eight rebounds, three assists, four blocks. Okay, so continue to grow that, you know, extend that gap. You're shooting the three ball very well. Um, and you're averaging 2.2 blocks per game. Aaliyah, I'm really proud of you. Obviously, the work's not done. The work's not done. Super proud of you. Super proud of your growth. I think year four is like the telltale sign of if someone's going to continue to grow, because year two, people usually figure you out, and the year three, you have to go back to the drawing board.
B
Yeah, that's. I felt like that's how it was like year two, it's like, okay, then this past year for year three, I was like, okay, teams are trying to do. This team is trying to do that. And so now going into year four, I'm like, okay, what. What else can we do? And so I'm hoping that me shooting the three ball a little bit more definitely will open it up for me.
A
And.
B
And then, I mean, hey, we're going to make it shake.
A
We about to add that bump fade over the right shoulder.
B
So we get that.
A
Look, when you get that crab dribble going over your left shoulder, bop. You know that you don't get that shimmy over this shoulder fade. That is. You cannot. That is Tim Duncan level pace where it's like literally pick your poison. So, yeah, come out to California. We don't get that. We all get that. We all get that. All right. At the time of this recording, Phantom in first place with a 10, 3 record shout out to Phantom, didn't really understand baby ghost. Can you explain baby ghost to me with Kiki? I don't understand.
B
She's just the youngest ghost.
A
So you just call her baby Ghost?
B
Yeah.
A
Okay, so like, who came.
B
Who.
A
Who started that? Cuz like, you are 24.
B
So.
A
So, like, she's a baby or ghost.
B
I just. Yeah, she is a baby or ghost. But what does. What does me being 24 have anything to do with that?
A
Because you're a baby ghost.
B
No, I'm not a baby ghost. Kiki is a baby ghost.
A
You're still on your parents car insurance. I have my own car insurance and phone plan.
B
I pay my bill. I literally pay my bill.
A
You're a baby ghost.
B
No, I'm not a baby ghost.
A
Okay, so are you, like, an adolescent ghost?
B
Kiki is the baby ghost.
A
Okay, okay.
B
That's. That. That's all. You know what I'm saying?
A
Well, baby ghost got the dub for you all on a game winner put after you hacked and fouled out. Anyway, let's actually go back.
B
Let's actually go back. No, no, no, no, no, no. Let's actually talk about it now. First of all. First of all, I wouldn't have fouled out. They called such a crappy call. Jackie, like, threw the ball up with, like, 0 seconds left. My hands are straight up, and the ref is like, foul. I'm like, sir, are you kidding me?
A
Are you about to crash out? Are you about to crash out? I'm like, I didn't.
B
No, no, no, no. This is a conversation, okay? I'm like, that's nonsense. And then the offensive foul. First of all, I didn't even throw my arms. I didn't even throw them. I'm allowed to get my. This is my bubble. Is this not my bubble? It is my bubble. So I'm confused. I'm confused as to how that can be a foul, but I don't even worry about stuff like that. I did say, though, when I got out the game, I was like, wow, fouling out in three on three has to be a record. Like, this has to be.
A
Why studio something. Why in the studio? And I wish you could have watched the show that we did because it was hilarious. I was like, yeah, Aaliyah's gonna hear about this on the podcast.
B
Like, that's on brand.
A
Because she hacked and. No, that's her tendency.
B
Why? Why is it not that anyone's hacking me? We never talk about that, ever.
A
Second place are laces with a 9 and 4 record. Third place, missed 8 and 4. They clinched playoffs breeze fourth, 6 and 6 clinched playoffs rose, fifth. With Chelsea showing out yesterday with 30.
B
Yeah, she went bananas.
A
10 threes clinched playoffs. 6 and 7 vinyl are in sixth place. 4 and 8 hive, 4 and 9, seventh place, and lunar owls, eighth place at 3 and 3 and 9. I mean, it was a tough blow. Nafisa didn't play this year, so I cannot wait to see how these playoffs shake out. I'll be doing the playoffs from the studio in Atlanta, and then I will be in Miami for the finals. So you better. Better be watching.
B
No, seriously. No, I better be there, too.
A
Better be watching you play. Just so you know. Also, I mean, I got on Instagram, obviously, I knew that this was coming, but it was still an exciting moment to see you post it. You announced on social Media that your Dawn 7 Virgin Island PEs will be available at Dicks on 3 1. Can you please take us through this process? Take us through the design.
B
Yeah, I mean my ver. My Virgin Islands pes. I mean the color was definitely just like the blue is obviously for the water. I have the, like the orange, the green that represented like the sunrise that we would see when we're on the court. Early morning, outside.
A
Oh, early morning. Talk to him. Cuz you was out there working.
B
I was out there working. Okay. Before the sun was up. Thank you.
A
And then you saw the sun come up and see.
B
Exactly, exactly.
A
I like that.
B
And then I have my parents names on the inside and then my sister's name because obviously they're. They've just done so much for me and made so many sacrifices and they're just super important. So I just wanted to add them in there so they can have a little piece of that. But yeah, Those are my PEs. I'm very excited. Nobody does, really. Well, everyone go get you a pair. Thank you.
A
Well, congratulations. This is huge. And you know, I know just what you. The work you've put in and the sacrifices you've made. And so I think you should 100% take this moment and go to Dick's and see the shoes on display and see all your hard work is at work. So congratulations, man.
B
Thank you.
A
It's amazing. ESPN is launching Women's Sports Sunday this summer featuring the top games in WNBA and nwsl. And games will be on primetime. The new franchise will be replacing Sunday Night Baseball and will be the first time in 36 years that ESPN will not have Sunday Night Baseball in its programming. I mean, it's one of the biggest investments in women's sports programming by a major sports media provider. And also kind of imagine if they would have called it Men's Sports Sunday. But we're going to take what we get. More sports games available to fans is a good thing. And I think that this was a long time coming and I think we're seeing the momentum of when we're not head to head against NFL like the numbers stand and, you know, speak for themselves. So ESPN and ABC Both saw 6% increase for WNBA games last season with an average viewership of 1.3 million. The NWSL's championship match between Gotham FC and Washington Spirit averaged 1.18 million viewers on CBS, a 22% increase from the previous year. So guess what, if you put it on Television people will watch, especially major networks. So let's keep that thing going, right?
B
100%.
A
Maybe let's play with the name of women's Sports Sundays. Let's just call it something. I feel like somebody could come up with something, because some of the, you know, mottos for some of these, like, Ford, I'm sorry, but like, 1, 2, 3, Ford. I'm like, somebody at the table was
B
like, yeah, that actually makes sense.
A
Yeah, we're going to go with that. And somebody is getting paid for 1, 2, 3, Ford.
B
100%. 100%. You know what?
A
So somebody sit at a table at ESPN and figure out another name besides Women's Sports Sundays. Okay. That's your task.
B
That's funny.
A
Aaliyah, be honest. When do you even start thinking about spring fashion?
B
Honestly, right now, since I'm in Miami, I'm kind of just rocking, like, the shorts and the slides. But I'm thinking once Unrival wraps up in March and I'm heading back to Indiana, where it's going to be a little chill. We'll get into the fits.
A
All right? Yeah. Miami to Midwest. It is no joke, I can tell you that.
B
No, for real, I'm going to miss the Miami weather. But spring, that's my favorite time of the year. Okay, the sun is starting to come out. It's finally starting to warm up. And you can actually have some fun with your outfits. Bright colors, lighter textures, the whole shebang.
A
Yeah, you sound like an island girl right now.
B
Listen, listen, listen, listen. Slow down. Don't get it twisted. I'll be back in a hoodie real soon because you know how I get down. But that's why I love places like Macy's. You can find pieces that still feel like spring, even when it's not quite there yet.
A
We're already getting spring vibes here in la, so I can't wait for Indiana to catch up so I can see all your fits.
B
Girl, I need this Miami weather to come with me to Indiana ASAP.
A
You can shop in store or online@macy's.com.
B
okay, Candace, be real. Did you ever get nervous during tournament time?
A
Nervous, probably not. Locked in? Absolutely. I think there's definitely a difference.
B
That's such a bet. Answer. Like, girl, you didn't get nervous.
A
That's experience talking. And experience tells you you don't want a championship without the right team. Period.

B
In college, the only punishment that we really got was when Coach Staley took away our. Our food. Now you're probably like, girl, what are you talking about? So we went down. My freshman year, we went down to St. T.H. thomas, and we were playing in Paradise Jam.
A
Oh, yeah, I played in Paradise Jam.
B
And so the first game we played against Indiana, actually, we lost. And Coach Daley was pissed. She was like, you didn't listen to any of the scouts. Like, you're over here contesting three points.
A
She was, wait, who was on Indiana?
B
Like, Mackenzie Holmes. That was like. I think that was her freshman year, too. Maybe. I don't remember the entire squad. I do remember I contested a jumper from Mackenzie Holmes and she didn't shoot any jumpers. And she went straight by me and Coach Daily, like, couldn't believe her eyes.
A
So anyways, how much did you guys lose by?
B
Not a lot. I. Not a lot, but I. That's the one loss that just always sticks with me because it was so, like, we didn't even have to do that. And we got done. She cuts us out. The next day, we're working out, and we ordered all these sandwiches right for the game. That after the. For after practice, we show up, we see the staff getting their sandwiches. Everybody's getting their sandwiches. We're like, oh, where's our sandwiches? She's like, no. After the performance y' all had, maybe y' all ate too much. And so then she got us these smoothies that were like, this big and was like, this is what you guys get. So she took away our sandwiches. Now, we ended up winning the whole tournament and winning the championship, and then we went on a run, and we didn't lose another game that entire season. So that was really our only punishment. And to this day, those sandwiches was the craziest thing, because it was like, why would you take away our sandwiches and gave it to the entire staff?
A
Listen, I think coaches are hilarious when they get mad. Not like in retrospect, not during. But that's hilarious that Don Staley took away food. The reason why I asked you that question was because Nafeesa Collier was on AZ Fudd's podcast and said one of the craziest things that happened when she was at UConn was that they got kicked out of the locker room after winning by 30. So let's take a listen to what she said on Futaround Pod.
C
One of the craziest things that happened in my time there is we got kicked out of the locker room. I think we were playing like two lane or something. And we won by 30, but we didn't, like, we didn't play well, win by 30, you know what I mean? And it had been like a long stretch of bad games. And coach came into the locker room after the game. He's like, make sure all your stuff is out of the locker room by 6:00am you guys, you don't deserve to have. Like, you're not working hard to take advantage of all the things that the people behind you have built all that stuff. So we clean out all of our lockers that night. We had to be in the gym by 6am all of our practice stuff was gone. We had like this Prismwear, gray cotton, like from 2000, all, like triple extra larges. I had to tie it extra tie with the drawstring. It's not staying up. And we go into the gym. The lights are off, the heat is off. No, he makes us wait for like an hour. There's like one light on. So it's. It's mood lighting. It's freezing. He makes his way for an hour. He walks into the gym. Finally he's like, start running. They put 30 minutes on the scoreboard. So we're running laps, just running. And then finally the last, like, I don't know, two minutes. I'm like, oh, it's the last ones. I'm going to push through. He puts another 20 minutes on. I've never felt so defeated in my whole life. So we keep running. And then finally he's like, okay, you can come off. You've been running hard enough. You can come off. You can start running hard enough. And then there was like a couple people left, and he just made them keep running and keep running, keep running until the time Ran out. And then they added more time.
B
I was like, yo, yeah, that's out of pocket.
A
You were fortunate to grow up in the era of player empowerment. It was like on the. On the way to player empowerment, where it was like, you know, when you go over to your other friend's house and they say something to their mama, and you'd be like. And then their mom comes and talks to them and is all sweet and whatever. That's the era we're in right now. We're in that era where now coaches are, like, having to, like, talk to their players in a certain way and worry about whether they're gonna leave and all that stuff. I didn't come from that era. I come from the I wish you would era, where Coach Summit was like, I wish you would transfer.
B
Hold on, hold on. Listen. I know it's not the same era, but it. I feel like after our, like, class or maybe the year after, that's. We were still part of that. Like, no one really transferred. There was, like, no one transferring when we were, like, freshmen and sophomores.
A
Okay, well, listen, we lost in the national championship that I did not play. We were in the final Four against Michigan State. I did not play. I sat out that whole year because my knee was messed up. So I registered. That year, we come in. We lost to Michigan State. So we got everything taken that summer. We weren't allowed to use the locker room, like, whatever. Then the next year, I think we lost to Kentucky or something like that. I can't remember because our point guard broke her hand, and we'd have a point guard, so I was playing point guard. We lost to Kentucky. I think coach took our jerseys. We were not allowed to wear our jerseys. We had to wash our own stuff.
B
Our.
A
Our managers weren't allowed to wash any of our stuff. We weren't allowed to practice in the gym. In fact, she came in and she took basketball from us. She was like, if you guys don't want to play, fine. Get out of practice. And we all. You know how you're like, she kicked us out of practice, so we're gonna stay and we're gonna, like, work on stuff ourselves. No, she came back in the gym, was like, get out of my gym. Like, you're not welcome here. Like, get out.
B
What?
A
Yes. No. No joke. No joke. So I think we all have these stories. And then we had. And I will not say the player on our team that could not make a free throw, but she could not make a free throw, okay? So Pat would put her at the line.
B
Oh, my gosh.
A
Free throws. But she was not allowed to run, only us. So she would just sit there and just bonk. We would have to.
B
I can't lie. That's od. Now, she was.
A
Sorry, guys. Sorry, guys. But Pat would let her run. She only made us run, so we were just running forever. And I remember looking at one of my teammates and them being like, we're going to just run, and then we're going to throw up, and then we're going to just keep running. And that was just our. Our mentality. That's how it was. And so when I look up at those banners in Tennessee, I'm like, man, y' all have no idea.
B
Crazy idea right now.
A
Y' all have no idea. Like, she kicked us out of the gym, but for real, like, get off of my youth. That court has my name. Get off of my court.
B
That's od.
A
Yeah.
B
She was playing around. Yeah.
A
Oh, my gosh. Oh, yeah. Food. That's cute. Taking your food and giving you smoothies. Oh, that's really cute.
B
That was. That was like. That was od.
A
Like. Like, Coach Summit was the comparison of, like, you know when you're a little kid and you're like, I'm running away. Yeah, you go pack up your stuff. And your parents are like, Pat Summit was like, I'll help you pack. I got you here, you gonna need some shoes. And you.
B
That's funny.
A
Oh, I love Coach, though, man. It was all worth it. Are you into Girl Scout cookies?
B
Not. Not. I like the ones that are, like. They have, like, the. Like, the chocolate design on them.
A
Like, they're not, like, do. Si. Does. Not the Thin Mints. Not the Samoas. Not the Tagalog. The Samoas are the. The sandwiches, I think, right?
B
Oh, I don't want those. You know, the girl. Let me see.
A
Hold on. Samoas. Girl Scout cookies. The Samoas are. That might be the Samoas. Hold on.
B
Oh, no, I don't want the Samoas.
A
Yeah, these are the ones that have, like, the chocolate. Sorry, it's not the sandwich.
B
Oh, wait. Actually, yeah, no, I do like the Samoas.
A
I mean, the s' mores and the trefoils are mine.
B
I don't mess with Thin Mints.
A
Yeah, the Thin Mints. I can't really.
B
I don't mess with.
A
Can't get down.
B
I. I don't. KP bought us Girl Scout cookies to locker room, but she bought all Thin Mints.
A
And you were just like, nah, bruh.
B
And I was like, thank you so much for the thought, unfortunately, I am declining.
A
So I am. I'll just be honest. Like, I support the cause for Girl Scout cookies, and I do like trefoils. Those are probably my favorite cookies. Those are number one, number two, number three. That's pretty much all I eat. But I will say that I'm more of just like a simple chocolate chip cookie. Yes. Pizookie person.
B
Oh, yes. A Pazuki sign. Mesh.
A
Okay, if you wanna. Though, if you want, my love, give me a warm, homemade, freshly baked chocolate chip cookie with extra chocolate chips. Like the. The. Like chocolate lovers chocolate chips.
B
Yes.
A
And then give me salted creep. Salted caramel truffle ice cream on top. A little whipped cream. So good it's fire. Would you ever give that up? Would you ever give sweets up? I mean, like, are you a sweet tooth?
B
Depends on the cause. Yeah, I am.
A
So what's your.
B
What's your cookie or brownie? Like, those two?
A
With ice cream?
B
Yeah, with ice cream.
A
Okay. What's your go to? What's your go to?
B
Dessert, brownie and ice cream.
A
So a recent clip of LeBron went viral on his Mind the Game podcast. He said he cut out two of his favorite things to stay healthy and prepare for the season. We have a clip of that. Can we show the video, please?
D
I needed to give up something.
C
Yeah.
D
I got to sacrifice something and actually did two things that I very love, and that is drinking wine and my chocolate chip cookies for dessert. I completely took it out. So I was like, okay, I wasn't playing. I missed, obviously. I'm well documented. Missed the first 14 games of the season. It wasn't playing in November. Missed all of training camp, everything. So I was like, for the. All right, I got to do. I got to take something out. I gotta sacrifice something, you know? And for the whole month of November, like, I'm gonna do no desserts and no wine, no liquor, no nothing for the whole month in November. And, yeah, I did that. And I actually went all the way. Once I got to December, I was like, oh. I kept going. And I didn't have my first drink and my first piece of dessert until new year years.
B
Wow.
A
And your teammate said, I'd rather retire than do this.
B
That's okay. Does not play about chocolate chip cookies, though. Like, she does not play about chocolate chip cookies. So that's not a shocker.
A
So what is your. So you said brownies and chocolate chip cookies are your guilty pleasure. What is, like, something else that's a guilty pleasure for you?
B
So I don't really do too Much candy. But what I would do is lifesaver gummies. You know, the lifesaver candy gummies. Now that right there. Can't help it. I can't help. It's just something about that candy specifically. It's like hits the soul.
A
See, I'm not a candy or a soda pop drinker. I'm like, straight up. Water, wine, tequila.
B
Good. Shirley Temple will hit, man.
A
I can't do it.
B
Good. Dr. Pep.
A
I will. And I'm currently. It's so funny that we're talking about this because I'm currently on my month cleanse, so I'm not drinking. And yeah, it's. It's not like, once I get my mindset right, I'm good. I can do it. When I was playing, I actually didn't eat for my blood type diet, so I didn't drink alcohol at that time. And I did give up. Like, it was like a 9010 rule where you could like 90% do it and then 10% cheat. So I would have cookies like once every three weeks or something like that. And yeah, like, I think you feel the difference, but it's also a balance in life. But when you're trying to get back and you're trying to play. I always equated sacrifice to, you know, being able to do what you want to do. And as athletes, I think that's what you do. I know when I was younger, my brother bet me not to drink pop when I was younger. And so I kind of just started. Yeah. When I was in junior high with my. My older brother. And I. I haven't. I don't drink pop now. I drink alcohol. That's. That's probably worse than pop. But. Yeah, so I'm on that month. That month journey right now before my big four zero and the wheels fall off. So. Yeah.
B
Wait, Kenneth, guess what? What? Take a guess.
A
Chicken butt.
B
I always say chicken butt. But no, I wanted to say that my Gamecocks won SC title again regular season.
A
Don't you guys have a piece of the title? Isn't it not all yours?
B
It doesn't matter.
A
I'm just saying, don't you want it to be all yours?
B
Because it is literally all sharing.
A
You can't share first place. Like, it doesn't work.
B
We're not gonna share first place.
A
I will tip my hat to you and say that five years in a row does. That's equate to a dynasty. I will give that 10th time in 13 seasons. Pretty dominant. You all destroyed Ole Miss. I turned on the game and then quickly turned it off because I was like, this game is over. It was a master class. So congratulations, S.C. yes.
B
And thank you.
A
I think the SEC tournament is going to be.
B
No, it's going to be crazy.
A
So much fun. I am trying to make my way to the SEC tournament asap. Ucla. Big Ten champs. The first regular season title for UCLA since joining the conference in 2024. Man, such a long drought.
B
On a roll.
A
Such a long drought. Joined it two years earlier. Championship in the second year. But I will say that UCLA is playing well. They're playing great basketball.
B
Yeah, they are.
A
And then, of course, UConn clinched their sixth straight Big east regular season title and 25th overall. It was UConn's 32nd conference title overall and 13th in a row, including at seven years in the American Athletic Conference. Let's talk about TCU, though.
B
Let's do it.
A
And you can't talk about TCU without talking about that girl, Olivia Miles. I'm coming up with a nickname. Double Triple Double, I'm calling her. It might be something so simple, like we got to do a play off of goggles or something, because vision. And I'm going to come back to you. I'm going to have a nickname for her. She rallied back. I say she because literally, it was her fifth triple double of the year, the most ever in a season by a Big 12 player. The score with 7 minutes and 16 seconds left in the fourth quarter was 66 53. Iowa State was up by 13 points with 7 minutes left in the entire game. And TCU held them to just seven more points while they scored 27 points. Yeah, they went on a 27 to 7 run to close the game. Iowa State ended UP only scoring 73 points, TCU 80. A lot of that came down to just Olivia Miles in the pick and roll. She finished with 26 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists. She was talking that talk. Her puff was going back and forth. I. I love watching her play.
B
Yeah.
A
Love watching her play.
B
It's a good day.
A
If there's a comp. And I know, you know, you gotta be careful with player comps. I think. I think Chelsea is. Chelsea Gray is that style. She's a big guard. She has court vision. Her passing opens up her scoring, her scoring opens up her passing. She's one of my favorite players to watch. We're going to skip over this real quick, but Tennessee is sucking. We've lost four straight. Texas, Ole Miss, Texas A and M. Oklahoma.
B
I thought they had the Oklahoma game.
A
I mean, here's the thing. Let's just be honest. The two games, like Texas, it was a possession.
B
Yep.
A
Let's say we don't foul on that one possession, then I think we come down, we execute, maybe we're up by one. Against Oklahoma, everything was going our way. And then I think we just started fouling. We couldn't score. There was a lit on the basket pretty early. Got in the bonus. I don't think we're that far off. We went into last week being number 21 in the country. Obviously, after four straight losses, we're not going to be ranked. We're still 6, I think, in the SEC, but I just think that whenever you're going through a season like this, and I think we both have, you really find out. And it may not be in the moment, it may not be this year, but you find out, like, who you rolling with in times like this, Right. When you look in the mirror and you look at your teammate and there's no quit, that's where, like, leadership comes to. Comes to life. And I've learned it the hard way, where I have not been the best version of myself in those times, and I've learned it a great way, where I have been the best version of myself. And we've been able to, like, prevail and turn the season around and win a championship. And so I just think, like, no matter where you're at at this point in the season, whether you're a Big Ten champion, whether you're winning the sec, whether, whatever, like, your mindset going into March is, like, the most important thing to me. Like, your togetherness, your mindset, your belief, and, like, you being able to bring the best version of yourself forward 100%.
B
Not against my Gamecocks, but everyone always seems to want to turn up when it comes to South Carolina.
A
Well, I mean, you guys have won the conference five years in a row, so you're now the hunted. What did you expect?
B
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.
A
But let me ask you this. Your rookie season, because you were not used to losing.
B
Yeah.
A
Okay. And I'll be honest, I didn't experience that because the year that I got drafted, it was kind of a fluke because Lisa Leslie was out on pregnancy. So when I came back, we had a squad and we're competing for a championship. So, like, I didn't really experience that rookie like Paige Beckers, where you're just like, what am I doing out here?
B
Don't worry.
A
What is going on?
B
I never experienced it.
A
What did you tell yourself every day? Because I remember having conversations with you, and you were shadow boxing in the corner, and I was like, aaliyah, calm down. Big picture, big picture, big picture.
B
It was the hardest time ever because you literally go from losing nine games in four years to losing, like, 16 in the first, like, 19 games. Like, at this rate, like, it was so crazy. Like, I would literally remember being in the back of the bus, and I was like, this isn't real. I'm like, what else can I do? Like, what else can I do to help us win? Like, I seriously. It was, like, emotional struggle. I tell you. That was the craziest time. Like, Kelsey was. She was so sweet, and she was just trying to help me through it. She was like, it's gonna be okay. 7. It's gonna be okay. I'm like, I don't know. I don't know if it's gonna be okay. But look at us now. Look at us now. We're thriving.
A
It's so interesting because the NBA is trying to fix this problem with tanking. And, you know, I think that they're trying to implement a number of rules to tank and whatever, but the franchises, to me, that really succeed are the ones that have a certain mindset. Like, I can remember talking to sga, you know, when Oklahoma was terrible, and he kept talking about a championship mindset. And if you start trying to play with fate by saying, like, we're going to lose this game, we're going to play this way, it messes with you.
B
Yeah.
A
As a culture. And the same thing in Detroit, like Cade Cunningham, his mindset, his leadership, all of that was on full display even when they were going 0 for 18 and on an 18 game losing streak. So I think that there's a way to still hold players accountable while you're going through the growing plains of trying to figure out how to win and you look at your teammates and, you know, leadership almost comes in those moments, because when we're winning and everybody's on
B
everybody's cloud now, everybody's good.
A
That's the way it is. And when you're losing, there's a lot of noise. There's a lot of things that are outside the circle that come in. LSU lost to your Gamecocks about a week ago.
B
A
A couple. That's what we're doing.
B
Sorry.
A
And on the team, obviously, Flaje's mom on Instagram live had quite a bit to say about LSU's loss to South Carolina. Even though the IG lives expire. You know, the Internet. Internet has Everything saved. Clips were all over social media. I turned on Baller Alert and I was just like, wow, okay, we've never beat South Carolina. Cool. But what is going on today? Flage is beating South Carolina in real life. No disrespect to them girls, no disrespect to Don. We're beating them in real life. I think the hardest thing I've had this are people that have supported you and loved you your entire life kind of getting in the circle. And I think it's your job as a professional to kind of keep those people not in the circle. And I've failed at that a number of times. I've succeeded in that, in the conversations. But once your family starts weighing in on stuff, it can get a little messy. You know, we always had this thing where we touch feet and everything outside of that circle we had to keep outside. And when you're allowing other people to come in and make comments. Good, bad, indifferent, believe it believable. Should have the ball, shouldn't have the ball. Should do this, should do that. But it's still outside noise.
B
Yeah. I mean, that's kind of hard for me, though. Like, it's so funny. Like, my parents, so my dad's not even, like, on social media, but my mom, she is. And there, there have been times where she's, like, pretty good at, like, you know what? I'm not gonna. Sometimes she, you know, she likes to kill him with kindness. So she'll go on Twitter and she'll quote a scripture and she'll post something to a reply. And I'm like, girl, you did not even need to do that. Like, it is literally. She goes, no, no, this is how I'm going to be the one to handle it. So if you ever just go through her Twitter, it's probably her replying to people with a nice scripture. And I'm like, girl, you are so unserious. But I know she means well. And I know she's like the opposite. Like, she doesn't ever want to be involved or, like, say anything that's kind of like out of pocket. Because I'm also that person that, like, I just. Let's not even worry about it. Let's just keep it calm, cool.
A
Unless someone makes it personal. And then I am like, okay, I got. I got time at times. I have time. I think being a mother changes that perspective. So I identify with Flage's mom as a mom, because Layla would have some 7 year old at school that she didn't like and she didn't mess with. And then all of a sudden now I don't like the seven year old.
B
No, that's valid.
A
And I'm like now I'm giving the seven year old dirty looks when I drop her off at drop off because of what has happened. So I understand, but that's only what Layla's telling me.
B
Yeah.
A
So for me publicly to go out and say stuff, you know, it just. You feel the need to defend your kids but trust that you've raised them to be able to stand on their own two feet. I think with all of this, the price of fame, the price of nil, the price of all this stuff is now you have more eyeballs, you have more opinions and that. And as unfair as it is, it comes with it. And so with that being said, just win at life. Right? Like I don't think you have to talk about it. You can be about it. And it is difficult and I, I don't know Flaje's feeling on this, but I told my parents like come on man, stay out of there. Don't exactly 100% we better, we better than that, you know. So it is what it is. But I think that the biggest thing for you on a team is to make sure that you keep the outside noise outside and you know, you don't participate in it. Hey AB before we get into the rest of the show, you know, sad news in wnba. Kara Braxton, two time WNBA champion with the Detroit Shock, passed away at the age of 43. She played at Georgia from 2001 to 2004 and was actually named SEC freshman of the year in 2002. She was selected number seven by the Shock in the 05 WNBA draft and made the league's all rookie team. Braxton won titles with Detroit in 2006 and 2008. She played for the New York Liberty. And Kara's son Jelani Thurman is actually a tight end at unc and you know, our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and I mean just I can remember battling against Kara Braxton and you know, watching her play when I was at Tennessee versus Georgia and just an amazing player. I didn't get a chance to be her teammate but I know a number of her teammates are, are posting and, and reflecting and so obviously it's this sad time in the WNBA and we just want to send our thoughts and prayers to her family. All right, so overtime put out a
B
post asking which region has the best WNBA Hoopers and you already know that we had to get on that conversation but we're going to divide the regions
A
a little bit differently because what were they doing? I don't like geographically. I was so confused with the region. Red lines of, like, what regions were.
B
I genuinely have no idea. But how we're going to do it is we're going to break it down. West coast, Midwest, Texas. Yes. That gets its own region in the southeast and in the tri state area. So that's New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
A
And no disrespect to New England. I mean, they're really good at football. Patriots, they've. They've won a lot of championships, but AB I love you, but that area did not make the cut. The Virgin Islands. Listen up for debate now. You might have started something.
B
You know, whatever. Let's just get into it and see who's running women's sports.
A
All right, west coast, you got Chelsea Gray. Currently you got dt. Yo. Cali had a lot of ballers, though. Like, and you played in LA when you played in aau. Like, all the California teams were usually pretty good. I remember Candace Wiggins played for the West Coast. It was like fbc, I think. Yeah, I think it was like FBC All Stars or something like that. So you got Cheryl, Cheryl Miller, Lisa Leslie, Tina Thompson, Kelsey Plums from California. People forget Rena, Sabrina Agnescu, Diana Taurasi, Cynthia Cooper.
B
That's a squad right there.
A
That is a squad. That is a squad. But nothing like that. M Dub. You know what that M Dubs, let's
B
see the Midwest we getting. We got Candace first and foremost. You got Caitlyn Paige, K. Mitch B.
A
Man, we young and turn Jack. Oh, I'm just throw. Listen, listen, Let me get. Let me get in a dribble handoff with any one of these. Are you kidding me? Nafisa Collier and myself, we playing pick a roll with space. Are you kidding me? And we're not even putting Cappy Pond. Dexter, put people forget. Y' all need to put some respect on Cappy Pondexter's name, man. Cappy Pondexter is one of the best players to ever come out of Chicagoland. She set the bar. I'm just telling you. So you put Cappy on this squad, it is over. Like, we're running everybody in some. Just so you know.
B
Okay, okay, now we're on to Texas. It's crazy. So when I was playing au, Texas was always, like, where the Hoopers were. Like, I remember. I remember when I was in high school, I was like, dang, I should move to Texas. Like, I feel like that's where. That's where all the Hoopers are. So let's see. I mean.
A
Okay, okay, wait, though. Wait. Okay, go. Go ahead. Name.
B
No, no, no. I want to hear what you have to say. No, no.
A
Okay. People put Tamika Catchings in the Texas. She played one year of high school at Texas, at Duncanville. She's from Chicago. She's from Chicagoland. She went to Stevenson. Oh, yes, she's from Chicagoland. So that has an asterisk by it. I will not let y' all claim Tamika Catchings. That's like Chicago claiming Kevin Garnett. We can't claim him. He played one year high school there. Great. We appreciate it, but we cannot be like, he is from Chicago. No. Okay, continue. I'm sorry.
B
No, we got. I mean, Kennedy, Carter, Cheryl Swoops, Neca Cheney, bg. I mean, Timmy get Catchings for one year. So. Really, how you said Tamika Catchings for
A
one year, that's hilarious.
B
Sid Colson.
A
We put in Sid Colson in there with the Big Dogs. I like it. Kayla Thornton. We put her in the Big Dogs. All right, cool. I'm with it. Southeast. Alicia Gray, Asia, Asia Wilson. We got Ryan Howard, Maya Moore. Maya Moore, Courtney Williams. It was weird because the overtime put, because I'm. I was born in St. Louis, so they. And apparently Maya was, too. Or in Missouri. I don't. I don't know. But they put me and Maya from Missouri, and everybody was like, they're not from Missouri. It's going crazy about it. Southeast got some Hoopers, too.
B
No, they do.
A
And we haven't even thrown in, like, the Florida, because, like, Sylvia Fowles from Florida. I know Florida used to be. It used to be Florida and California and New Jersey were the three AAU teams where you were like, man, if you got them in your bracket, it was going to be a long. A long tournament. So Tri State area. Shoot. Just Christ the King itself.
B
Just Christ.
A
Sue Bird, Tina Charles. You got those Shamika Halls claw in there. Come on, now. Put some respect on Meek's name. Dawn Staley.
B
Ka. Yeah,
A
Stewie. Man, that's a.
B
That's a good little squad, too.
A
See, I still like our Midwest squad. I still think we're the best.
B
Of course, of course. So we can go Midwest ranked number one.
A
Oh, you're ranking us number one. For real, though? For real.
B
I think I'd rank y' all number one.
A
Yo, who would. Who would ball with us? Just tell me, please.
B
Well, can you guys add me in there for fun or.
A
No, I Don't make the rules. But you're from Boston, so.
B
Okay, so we'll. I mean, we'll think about it.
A
We can figure that you technically would be Tri State. That would be.
B
Oh, I mean. Okay, okay. No, I like that. So then Tri State number two, what do you have? Who's your number three?
A
I mean, west coast ballers kind of. West coast ballers are kind of crazy.
B
Southeast, though. Yeah.
A
You got Maya and Asia, but Cynthia Cooper, Cheryl Swoops, Lisa Leslie and Diana, Chelsea Gray.
B
Okay, okay. So West coast goes 3.
A
Come on, man.
B
But then Southeast 4.
A
Texas, your big ballers. Just because Tamika Catchings isn't really from there. She's really from the Midwest. You all have to debate, discuss. Send us your prediction. Send us why we're wrong. Send us matchups you would want to see. Send us 1v1. Talk to us about that 1v1 matchup. Because, listen, that could be a thing. I love it, but I still go with. I still go with the Midwest, man. M Dub. All right, all right, all right. Before we wrap things up, let's get into our fan questions. Okay. Our first question is from Koda Burns, 433. It seems like player housing keeps getting brought up in the cba. Can you explain how player housing normally works? And does the whole team live in an apartment near each other?
B
Yeah, so usually the team puts you up in apartments. And as for. Does the whole team live in apartments near each other? I think it kind of depends on the person. I don't want to give too much with the fever, but we were kind of all spread out. It's kind of just kind of where you want to live, where you enjoy, but they usually put you up in pretty nice places.
A
And if you don't choose to live in the apartment, because some players choose to have their homes or whatever, you get a stipend. So when I played in la, I got a stipend, a housing stipend, because I didn't choose to live in the apartments.
B
So clean, independent. Next question is from AT Delaney Kinsella, what's your advice for getting back to playing after a major injury?
A
A lot of people talk about the physical element of getting back after injury, but I think there's a trust that you have to have with your mind and your body. And so I think it's continuing to build that trust through the work that you put in and through, you know, just the exercises that you build up to. I think the biggest thing is, is, like, don't just go all in one day. You have to steadily build up and make sure that you're ready, because there's other things that are involved in that chain. Right. It's not just your knee or your foot or your back that you're rehabbing. It's gotta be everything, because it's all has to be in sync. And so the biggest thing is is just to make sure that you're ramping up gradually and not going all in. The next question. It's really serious. Aaliyah. It's from at the Great ones. Underscore. Are you ready? Pineapple on pizza, yes or no?
B
Absolutely not. Don't even bring it near me. If you're gonna order a pizza and you're gonna ask me if I want to slice and there's pineapple on the pizza, I'm gonna throw the whole box.
A
Absolutely not.
B
It's kind of rude. Absolutely not. Don't.
A
Absolutely. Is kind of like you're being.
B
No. Dramatic.
A
That's how you're gonna throw the whole box.
B
Yes. I can't do fruit, like, on my food, like, near my food, touching my food. There's no.
A
And then it just has pineapple.
B
I promise you, I'm not meat lovers.
A
And then they put pineapples.
B
Then it's not really a meat lover because you did too much.
A
Okay, I. I'm with you. I don't like pineapple on pizza, but it's not like an absolutely no.
B
No. It is for me. 100.
A
Okay, well, now that we know Aaliyah does not like pineapple on pizza, it's an absolute no. That is an ick. That's a wrap on this week's episode of Post Moves. Thanks for tuning in.
