Did you buy anything? Are you like a Black Friday Cyber Monday shopper?
B
Absolutely not. No, absolutely not. I lowkey feel like they be scamming. Like you did not change that price for real.
A
I mean, they. They did. You can go check it.
B
No, they didn't change that price. So I'm not going to get played. You know what I'm saying? Are you?
A
I did go shopping in Vegas a little bit. It was retail therapy being in Vegas for, for Thanksgiving. So I did, I did kind of go a little crazy.
B
What'd you buy me?
A
Not a thing. I brought you what you brought to Thanksgiving.
B
That's not very nice. That's not very considerate.
A

A
How was your Thanksgiving?
B
It was amazing. So Ozzy and I drove to Georgia, spent Thanksgiving with my family. And honestly, before you ask, I brought myself. Okay. Don't ask if I brought wine. Don't ask if I brought any ingredients because I didn't, you know, but the food was bus.
A
Well, Indiana fever, you've got your coachable franchise cornerstone. She's really coachable. I promise. She, she was like, she took the criticism and she was like, you know what? Still not gonna bring anything because.
B
Because why would I? Ozzy's the prize.
A
How many people, how many people came over for Thanksgiving?
B
It was just. So was my aunt, her husband, my two cousins and I. And Oswald. That's my new thing. I call him Oswald now.
A
It's cool. It sounds grown.
B
Thank you. How's your Thanksgiving?
A
My Thanksgiving was spent in a gym at Michelob arena in Las Vegas. I was in Las Vegas for the players era tournament last week and yeah, shout out to that week. I had three games Monday, two games Tuesday, two games Wednesday, two games Thursday.
B
And that girl working.
A
And then I covered the Lakers Mavs game on Friday back in la, so didn't really have the stereotypical Thanksgiving. My family went to my wife's family's house. And then all my family was just kind of scattered throughout the United States. But on Saturday, we had a nice Thanksgiving. We had the University of Tennessee basketball team came over, and we broke bread, and it was amazing. And they brought wine, and I got your little smart ass dm. I posted them, and I was like. When they handed me the bottle of wine, I was like, leah, see, I.
B
Had to ask if they brought you wine.
A
Yeah, here she go. I post my son, which, by the way, he was doing, like, dunking layup lines with the Tennessee women's team, like, lined up, and he was going in and dunking and, like, hyping everybody up. And I was like, oh, go. And, yeah, I get this, like, buzz on my phone, and it's Aaliyah. Like, hey, so did they bring anything you are.
B
Because that's a. That's a whole group. Like, they had to have brought something, right? And I guess they did. So they really outdid me, which, I mean, I love that for them, but I feel like bringing myself is enough. I don't know if.
A
Okay, love yourself. I guess what was really difficult was I was like, okay, we're gonna do this team dinner. It's gonna, like, fire them up, and, you know, all this stuff. And it was great to meet everybody honestly and, like, sit with the coaches. And I really feel, like, that connection with the program again. I think you'll get there eventually where you're so far out, you don't know anybody that's really there. And, like, my coaching staff has moved on to, like, other places, so nobody really is there that was there, with the exception of, you know, like, some people that have worked for Tennessee shout out to Buffy. She's the best ever. But I don't have that, like, connection like that. And so I have felt that with this coaching staff, and I think that it was super cool. You know, Coach Caldwell and her staff came to my jersey retirement, and, like, it's just. It's getting back to that point where I feel like, you know, it's. It's a family, and we're going to be able to continue to grow and all those things. With that being said, I was like, man, all right, we're going to be the ones that sparked them with this pregame meal to beat the ucla. And that did not happen. It didn't happen. However, it was really cool to see, like, the girl, you know, the women's personalities and, like, their vibe and college, and seeing Layla, like, choose to sit with the team and not sit with me, which Was kind of really weird, but yeah. So anyway, it was good. It was. It was. It was a lot of fun. Did you buy anything? Are you like a Black Friday Cyber Monday shopper?
B
Absolutely not. No, absolutely not. I lowkey feel like they'd be scamming. Like, you did not change that price. For real. I mean, they change that price.
A
They did. You can go check it.
B
No, they didn't change that price. So I'm not gonna get played. You know what I'm saying? Are you?
A
So I. I am gonna buy some Christmas gifts today for my boys just because Cyber Monday does make a difference for, like kids toys. But yeah, I'm not a big. Now. I did. I did go shopping in Vegas a little bit. It was. It was retail therapy, being in Vegas for. For Thanksgiving. So I did. I did kind of go a little crazy. I don't know if I got.
B
What'd you buy me?
A
Not a thing. I brought you what you brought to Thanksgiving.
B
That's not very nice. That's not very considerate. But that's fine. We can talk about that later.
A
Yes, for sure. But what we can talk about now, my Chicago Bears being.
B
I knew you. I knew you weren't going to let us get far without bringing up those Bears. I do have a question, though.
A
We're number one in the NF NFC right now and obviously number one in our division.
B
And you think this is like a real number one?
A
Well, how do you have a fake number one with this entire sample size? Because we could say the same thing about the Eagles the year before. Could we could say the same thing about the Chiefs. The Chiefs were winning by like a field goal the year that they won the super bowl.
B
So they're really top goals.
A
They lost the super bowl, but still my Bears are real. And we face a Packers team this week that I'm really, really, really, really, really excited about because if we beat the Packers.
B
Y' all winning the whole thing, aren't you?
A
I mean, in my mind, why would you dream to not win? You know? But I also understand that this is what Bears fans get. We get hope. And then we get the double doink. We get the double doink by Parky. And then all of that, that was like. That was my family's like, welcome to Bears fans moment. Like, Anya got her jersey and like, dressed all up. And my, you know, my daughter and my God brother, we were all there. And then we were in. Yeah, the playoffs and we double doing. So I was miserable forever. So Bears, I'm just really excited. So. Okay. Well, do you have anything else you want to talk about before we get to what we want to talk about?
B
No, no, I'm all set. All right.
A
It's time for what We Want to Talk about, presented by AT&T. Connecting our fans to everything happening on and off the court. All right, let's get to it. So not really much additional information. The CBA deadline was agreed to be extended by the WNBPA to the current CBA. The date now is January 9, 2026, which it just kind of seems like this is the second extension.
B
Second extension. Yeah.
A
And I really don't think that there's going to be pressure similar to, like, the men's side where you don't really feel that pressure till December. Well, that's into the season because they know they can't miss Christmas games. I feel like WNBA as we approach, like, February, like, if this gets extended again, I think there's going to be a little bit more pressure. So anyhow, I mean, it's.
B
Yeah, we'll see. We'll see together. Yeah, we'll see together.
A
Well, other big news in the wnba, the lottery pick results.
B
You're right. Yeah.
A
Oh, and by the way, in Vegas, I'm not a gambler. I never gamble. I sat down at the table and I got four straight blackjacks. Four. The dealer said he had never seen it ever. So.
B
Okay, turn up.
A
That was like lottery picks, blackjack. I don't know. But I won a little money, so I was excited. I walked away, put it in my purse, clutched my pearls and went to my room. All right, lottery pick. I called it. Dallas got.
B
You did the number one pick.
A
I was really excited when I saw that. I wanted to text you, but. Yeah. So what are your thoughts initially on it?
B
I mean, I still am kind of rocking with. I could see them going with. With AZ at number one. Like, I can see it. So, I mean, I. We're not surprised because they did have the worst record for. For a little minute, but I could see them going with AZ still number one.
A
Yeah. I think for easy. I would love to see her. I would probably love to see her end up with Minnesota. Just.
B
I think Minnesota would be great for her to.
A
Minnesota would be great. I think that the action and you're coming into a team that's like, already really good. I think the storm would be another intriguing, like, place for AZ to live, but, you know, we don't get to determine. And this isn't about what AZ wants. This is about what's best for Dallas.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah. For Dallas. And so. Yeah, like, what. What's your prediction? You. You got AZ going number one.
B
Yeah.
A
Okay. And I think somebody that we are forgetting about is Olivia Miles. I think Olivia Miles is a franchise player, so whoever she ends up with is about to be insane. Could it be dynamic where you have Olivia Miles and Paige Beckers? Does Dallas say, hey, we want to trade the first pick and try to get a vet? Is a rike a gumboale gonna stay in Dallas? I think there are so many questions within this.
B
Yeah. So many components.
A
Exactly. So there. With that being said, us just going through and doing like, one wings to whatever. I think the Wings need to get some vets in there. Similar to, like, this isn't. This isn't the Minnesota Links. Right. Actually, kind of is. This might be kind of like the Minnesota Links. They had Simone Augustus. Okay. And that was the year that they got the number one pick to get Maya. They brought in Lindsay Whelan. I don't believe Rebecca Brunson was on the team yet. And then two years later, they brought in Sylvia Fowles. So I feel like with the Wings, yes, you can build around, like, your younger core and you're still having vets.
B
That still that know that have that experience.
A
Exactly. Like, as you know, it takes time and you need people that have been there and done that. And I feel like Kelsey Mitchell's kind of like in that example, the Simone Augustus a little bit. So with that being said, if the Wings choose to take their pick, you're saying they're gonna choose az.
B
I could see that. Yeah.
A
Yeah. I haven't seen the Spanish player. The AWA farm.
B
Oh, yeah. I've seen some, like, clips of her on social media.
A
What is she. What's her game?
B
She's very long. So that's the first part. She's just. She's pretty big post. Good touch. Like, I think she would probably be. Yeah, I think she's. I don't know her exact height, but from the film, looks like six. Four maybe, but looks versatile. I could probably see him being like a four. Stretch that floor. I honestly don't know how well she shoots it, but, yeah, I mean, she's big. Big body.
A
Yeah. I think in addressing needs for the Wings, first and foremost, obviously you have Paige Beckers, which is insane to be able to build around from there. You need to go out and get wings. That is my like, because wings are so important in this. In this league in terms of defending, but also being able to get your own shot. Are they going to keep the ball in Paige's hands and have her be pg or is she going to be able to be an off guard? Because honestly, if you keep your pick, Olivia Miles might be intriguing just in terms of being able to get Paige, you know, where she could start the offense.
B
Paige is on the wing, like being.
A
Able to attack differently and they're different dynamics. Like Paige is a scoring guard that can, that facilitates and is a great passer. But Olivia is just straight up like go and get you in your offense, push pace right away, hit you with some nice passes. So if they keep their pick, I still am living with az. Being with the Links, I like it.
B
I honestly, I like AZ with, with Minnesota as well. I think their offense is like when you look at the way UConn plays, like the ball moves, it's the back screens, it's the chin action, it's coming up like that's Minnesota. They're just moving that ball, spacing the floor.
A
I think, I think the Links are actually might be in the best position, to be honest with you, because you're able to address a need. I could see them going with because you're going to get Olivia Miles or a fud. So with that being said, you're able to do what you need to do and I just, I just think the Links are ready to take that step forward. Obviously with Nafisa Collier you have your go to player. Now you're able to build off of that. So it's going to be interesting.
B
It sure will. It sure will.
A
It is going to be interesting. I cannot wait. But the other teams that had drafted the number one overall picks in back to back years. Have you heard of this team called the Indiana Fever? And they had.
B
Yeah, honestly, they're pretty, pretty fun to watch.
A
Yeah. 2023, you were number one. 2024, Caitlin Clark was number one and then Las Vegas Aces. This is why I'm like dynasty and like, you know, whatever we were built, whatever. They got Kelsey Plum 2017, they got Asia Wilson 2018 and they got Jackie Young, Jack 2019. You're telling me them ping pong balls weren't colluding? Because that is crazy, you know, but also we're looking at it through the lens of what type of players they are now. Their player development has been insane. So Jewel Lloyd came into the league. Jewel Lloyd's, Brianna Stewart came in the league. Brianna Stewart, those two drafted back to back. Hey, question. What is the sentiment when you're about to be a lottery team? Like are you guys like, let's Lose some more so we can get some.
B
More ping pong balls and try to.
A
Get number one pick. Or like. No, there's got to be a topic of conversation.
B
No, there's no topic.
A
Okay. Because I know that year that Brianna Stewart was coming out in the league, and it was like, this was crazy. It was. It was Seattle Storm playing the Silver Stars. So San Antonio, this is before they moved to Vegas, which ended up working out for both franchises, and they were playing each other. They went to overtime. And this is for last place, basically. So they're battling to see if the loser is probably going to get Brianna Stewart. And like, San Antonio played to win. And I was like, you guys, are.
B
You guys.
A
I. I understand that you could play to win, and you should always play.
B
To win, but you're about to get Stewie a little bit, so play.
A
There's not a little bit of like, maybe. Okay.
B
No.
A
And that is why they have, you know, added odds and all this stuff is because of that. Because that's what they used to do. But not in the WNBA. We don't do that. All right. USA Basketball, they're doing a training camp in Durham. Congrats, A.B. i saw your name.
B
Thank you. Thank you.
A
Yeah, that's amazing. I saw other players that are making their senior national team debuts. That's Caitlin Clark, Cameron Brink, Paige Beckers, Angel Reese, Sonia Sutron, Kiki Arifan, Rekia Jackson, Veronica Burton, who was actually at 3 on 3. I just saw her. Lauren Betts. I just saw her playing for ucla. And juju Watkins, who will be, you know, obviously spectating.
B
Yeah.
A
Still out with her acl, which is very weird that these college students are asked like, Lauren Betts is going to come play USA in the middle of the season. Like that.
B
And then go back. Go back and keep hooping.
A
It's really tough. So have you seen the biopics of y' all on the Team USA website?
B
Oh, my gosh.
A
Wow. Sonia was like, I literally look like children. Caitlyn was like, I'm hooping.
B
Literally just look like children.
A
Ball is life is what you guys look like. No, no nil money.
B
That's no nil money. Just. Just here for the love of the game. Just here for the love. For the love of the game. Okay. We're just excited that we get to compete. Why would we post this? Why would we put this. These pictures?
A
This is my favorite thing. Oh, shout out looks. So our producer, Chelsea. This just made my entire life like. It was like they were just like, smile. And you guys are like, like Caitlyn's hair is to the side.
B
Sonia, this is. We're just vibing. We're just vibing.
A
Well, other names rounding out the 18 player roster are Brianna Jones, Brittney Griner, Chelsea Gray, Derica Hamby, Jackie Young, Kalia Copper and Kelsey Plum as Kelsey K. Jackie Griner and Chelsea have all participated in multiple Olympics.
B
Yeah.
A
So why aren't Asia, Fee, Stewie AT and Saab not there? Well, because they are going to make the team.
B
They're literally on the roster.
A
And this is something that I was like yelling from the rooftops before. Like, why are people that are going to make the team coming back from overseas with our only two week break and being here. So I'm glad that USA Basketball shout out to Sue Bird is working smarter and not harder. So I love the respect that you're paying to players that have, you know, paid their dues and done all this. So yeah, you got to pay your dues.
B
Going to training camp.
A
Training Camp 12th through the 14th in Durham, North Carolina. And the camp will be led by new national team head coach Carol Lawson that is currently coaching at Duke. And the WNBA coaches will be Natalie Nikase.
B
Ooh.
A
Stephanie White. Okay. Familiarity Nate Tibbets while serving as court coaches. So that's really cool that you have the familiarity of your coach there. I think it helps the transition. What are you most excited about.
B
To. Once again, I think anytime you get a chance to really like play with usa, it's just a great opportunity. So honestly, I'm excited to hoop a little bit before we go to unrivaled. See my girl Caitlin. I was like, hey girl, see you soon. She was like, she was like, see you soon. So I mean any opportunity, just have some fun.
A
Yeah, it's gonna be interesting. And I kind of was thinking this, this past week is the challenges of like getting a camp in like Coach Lawson is obviously having it at Duke because, you know, because it's mid season and all that stuff and it's just like the turbulence of their season. It's right before unrivaled. There have been players that have been coming off injuries and things like that. So it's got to be a challenge to figure out the correct time to do it with unrivaled coming up and all of that. So. Yeah, I can't wait to hear about it. I know Sue Bird.
B
I'll call you.
A
Yeah, please call me. Let me know when you're doing the float tanks and dinners that we talked about earlier with sue when she was on the show. She has a big job coming up in her new role as national team managing director. She'll be naming the 2026 FIBA World cup in September of next year. And if you haven't already, go listen to her episode with us. It. Sue is one of the funniest people and just greatest players in our. In our era. So go listen to that episode. And Aaliyah, I know you didn't choose number 30 because USA Basketball is number. Like what number do you.
B
What number do you want?
A
USA Basketball's like, here, take this number but cause already number seven. So if you had a choice, what USA basketball number would you take?
B
Like 14. Because I did. It's also. Wow. Seven plus seven is 40. Anyways, I. When I was in high school and I played for USA, that was always my number. It was always 14. Who is number 14.
A
On the roster now?
B
I don't even.
A
I'm losing, I'm losing my training.
B
Is it.
A
Is it at. I don't know who's number number 14? I was number 15. They just gave me that number.
B
Yeah, that's what they gave me when I was in high school. So I would have been like, yeah, we can rock with 14.
A
Yeah, well, we will. We will find out very soon. All right, Moving on to college basketball. Did you see Texas in the women's players era championship? And if you did not see Texas in the women's players era, are you.
B
Talking to me or the people listening?
A
I'm talking to you. It was kind of a.
B
Because, you know, I saw Texas in the championship. Okay. I just, you know, I saw them in the championship. But you. And you knew that.
A
But that's why you love the fact that's my favorite.
B
Why would you. Why would you even ask the question like that?
A
Okay, for those that are listening out there, post ups and they don't have.
B
An allegiance if they miss the game.
A
And they don't have an allegiance.
B
Really.
A
Number four Texas at the time because they're not number four. Now beat number three UCLA and number two South Carolina on back to back ends.
B
Yay.
A
Aaliyah is a little salty for her Gamecocks. Rory harmon made a 10 foot long like pull up jump shot with.
B
It was a good shot though. It was a really good shot.
A
Three seconds left to lift number four Texas over number two, South Carolina.
B
O.
A
Almost said North Carolina. Number two South Carolina 6,664. Obviously we'll talk more about this in the. You got this because it was. I. I don't want to give away Your mo. Your moment on. You got this. But it's pretty clear who's probably got that.
B
You know what? Congratulations. But you know who I want to talk about? We don't have to spend all this time on Texas Longhorns. Audi Crooks. This girl has been hooping. 47 points, efficiency, 19 for 25. Are you joking? Are you joking?
A
What's insane to me is she's. She's averaging more points than she's averaging minutes.
B
Seriously? Yeah, seriously.
A
And she's averaging 27.3 points and shooting 74% from the field and is leading the nation in scoring with twos. It's insane. Insane. Shout out to Audi Crooks. She's. She's hooping. Hooping.
B
All right, I know it's about your Tennessee girl, but did you see Janiyah Barker in the handshake line after the. After their UCLA game? She did say they did technically shake hands. Technically, they shook hands. See? Hands connected.
A
Obviously. I don't think this is a good look. We don't understand the history. And that's why I think it was kind of unnecessary. Just because if you're not gonna speak on it, then you look worse in that situation. And if you did already shake it, like you said, then don't pull it back. I can. Okay. So I was called out for not shaking hands after the Chicago sky complete collapse against the Connecticut sun in the semifinals my last year in Chicago. And a lot of that had to do. And there's no excuse. I should have came back out there and shook hands. But the stuff dejuana was talking about, but it wasn't a handshake line where we're walking past one another. That is difficult when you're in, like, a, you know, handshake line.
B
You have to go. You have to go down the line. Yeah. Yeah.
A
I think at that point, you just, like. You keep it moving, you know? And I think that this is a learning lesson for her. I know. She tweeted later. Yeah, there you go. She tweeted later. Respect. We shook hands. I wish nothing but the best for Coach Corey and my UCLA family. But then she spelled Coach Corey. Corey's name. Yeah. But heat of the moment, all of us have time to process and look back. This is something I'm sure she will remember, learn from all of those things.
B
Whoa.
A
But that's difficult. That's difficult. Especially in the day of social media. Everybody's gonna catch everything. I was like, got back from driving back to the game. I was like. From the game. I was like, oh, man, bleacher report. Oh, man, all over everything. Gotta learn from it, man. Learn from it. Janaya. I think she'll be a great pro at the next level, too. There are 22 women's college basketball teams are heading into December, undefeated of those.
B
Hate to hear.
A
South Carolina is not in that.
B
Okay, you didn't have to say that.
A
I was just telling the post ups that. I mean, listen, Tennessee ain't in that either. So we in the same boat. What of those teams or who of these teams? And I'll just shout out like three or four just so you can get the gist of it. TCU, Maryland, LSU, Texas, UConn, Iowa State. Of those teams, who are your favorites? Other than UConn? I mean, Yukon's number one.
B
I know they did be my Gamecocks. I'd say Texas, tcu, and yeah, those are my two.
A
I'm going to double down and say we have a lot of question marks about LSU, but LSU scoring 100 points in like the same amount of games that they played. I know their competition hasn't been great. It's not their fault. But LSU is in the news for more than just Lane Kiffin. I think LSU women's basketball. I can't wait to see them start SEC play because that's gonna translate. Like, you have that confidence coming in. That's definitely gonna translate. So they're eight. No. I know everybody's like, they play nobody. But guess what? They've whooped the people that they've played. So I like lsu. I love Texas. Shout out to my, my, my girl, Lindsey Wisdom Hilton. It was amazing. And I'll throw in tcu. I think TCU is intriguing me too.
B
I think they have a lot of great pieces and they're bigs like stretch the floor, like, take it off the bounce. They do everything.
A
You got Olivia Miles just running the show. Just running the show. Running it.
B
You know what I seriously enjoyed from this, like past week? Listen to Bruce Pearl talk to you on the, on the broadcast.
A
Oh, you saw that? Oh, you saw that. Oh, you watched that part.
B
Like, the game was all fun and everything listening to that. But what were you doing back in your college days, Candace? Why. Why are we talking about. Don't break up with him this day because you all got a big game. We need to play it. Come on, come on. We're about to listen. Because he was too funny.
C
Candace was a beautiful young student athlete at Tennessee. She was dating one of the my guys and she was talking to two or three others at the same Time.
B
You can't air her dirty laundry like that. Coach, come on. No.
C
Hey, Candace, you remember there were a couple times I would come to you say, honey, don't break up with him tonight.
B
Right?
C
You remember this?
B
I literally did.
C
And she would be like, okay. We had that relationship.
B
Candice was mature saying okay in your.
A
Office and talking to you. And I think that that's the thing that I love about the University of Tennessee is the relationship. And how did I transition that? The thing I like about was the relationships. I went from that.
B
I don't know how you did that, but if you saying you did say that, like, don't break up with him today. Like, you're hilarious.
A
Like, how do I get this back to basketball? How do I get Bruce Pearl away from. Because my. The way my phone was blowing up, like, the way I. Yeah, that was kind of crazy. And then I hit Grant up because Bruce was going to call the Michigan game with them the next day. And I was like, grant, don't. Grant Hill. Hey, you got any stories? Bruce, go make sure and tell him no. Coach Pearl is dope. Other than airing my.
B
He really did light you up. And I was. I should. I really should have texted you and be like, what's this about?
A
So you saw that.
B
You peeped that because how could you not? That man just told your whole business. He told your life story. Like, he.
A
Post ups are a little confused. I. I dated men. Then I started dating. So anyway, all right. So. All right. That wraps up what we're going to talk about. Presented by AT&T. Connecting changes everything.
B
After we won the national championship in 2022, I saw you, Candace, in the crowd, and I just grabbed the mic and said it. I love you, girl.
A

So basically it's like your PG throwing you the perfect pass before you even post up. Like just lead me to the rim.
A
Or when AV is already in position before anyone else sees it coming.
B
All I'm saying is staying connected matters, and with AT T, they make sure that you're covered.

All right, so last episode we talked about all rookie teams and the 1v1 matchups and and this week there's another clip floating around kind of similar to that. So on 7:00pm in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony, him and Kaiser Gondrazik started debating hypothetical 1v1 in the WNBA. And Candace, I don't know if you heard, but your name definitely came up about going 1v1 versus Asia. So let's listen in.
D
Asia Wilson versus Candace Parker.
E
I'm gonna go with Candace. I think Candace, she had a little bit more to her game on the perimeter. I think people are forgetting she was rookie of the year and MV the same season, got pregnant, came back and like, she's one of those ones.
D
But Asia Wilson as well, I mean, that's somebody who's, who's resonating better every year. Like, it even felt like in the beginning of this season people were kind of starting to write off her and. And the Aces and she probably had the most impressive run.
E
That woman's covered by God too, though. Yeah, she really is.
A
Yeah, she's Asian.
E
I hope she doesn't max out with her greatness.
D
Who you got? Melo? Sorry, ladies. I'm gonna go with Candace. That was our era, you know what I'm saying? So I was able to see Candace really dominate. This is no comparison. I'm just saying I've seen Candace dominate as I'm going through my journey in my career. Also, her skill set, Asia, skill set is totally different. You know, Asia, she does some shit that may not be done again, but we will keep it in context. Probably Candace.
B
Okay. Period. Queen.
A
And I love, I love that women's basketball is getting to the point where, like debating this in barbershops, on podcasts, things like that. So first and foremost, that's. That's the key. Second, Melo, his skill set, I think that that's what it means a lot is because his skill set is one that you could tell. He went and just perfected the jab, perfected the like, built the house, did all that stuff. And I was his era. So I was there when Melo and LeBron and D. Wade and they were trying to figure out Russ and you know, Ibaka and whether he was going to stay with James Harden and kd. And so like, it's crazy to see the era that we were in where all of our stories were unwritten and now they are. I don't get into one on one battles. I mean, I think that that's kind of. Who cares if somebody like. I feel like there's a lot of players that can go out and get buckets on. On Certain guys, but they're not going to be able to do what they did in their career. So I don't know. I mean, I think our games are so different. Like Asia and I's. Like, our games are just so different in the way that, you know, that we've played and things like that. So who's going to try to lace up their shoes and not think that they're going to win?
B
Exactly. Yeah.
A
So, you know, I think I tip my hat to Melo and Kaiseri for the love. I do think people forget though. They look. And that is why I retired. No, for real. Because it's like they remember you in your last games. And those games are not. That's not. I couldn't move. So I love how they said prime DT they didn't give me no prime. Like Candace Parker. Like, damn. All right. Who you taking?
B
Oh, in. In that 1v1 matchup, girl. Girl, you know? You know, in that 1v1 matchup, I can't even lie like, I'm going with my girl C.P.
A
Well, I was about to Gamecock. I was like, okay, we taking Gamecocks.
B
Over post ups, you know, I told you, dude, you're like, you're the girl. Like, no one could ever not be that girl. Like, for me though, like, I don't really care whoever else got it. No, no, no, no. You, you. I should break out and dance or something, right? I should get up and. No.
A
Okay. You got issues. No, I appreciate you, man. I appreciate it. Okay, we about to. We about to go to another girl. Caitlin Clark versus Prime Diana Tarazi. Love how they gave her prime.
B
I can't give Ron nah. Cause you're just hard. You're just hard in general.
A
Like, yeah, DT looked a little rough the last couple years. It was like, I promise she could put like. That's what I'm saying. Like, you got a time retiring right? At the right time because people remember you for the way that you. And it's like, nah, man. All that stuff Caitlyn's doing, like Dee was crossing half court like she hit 10 threes. I'll never forget in a yearly game for. To go to the championship in Euroleague. Probably a game not many people saw, but like closing her eyes, just coming off screens like this. Never seen anything like it. So with that being said, you're talking one. One on one. I think Dee, just because of her physicality, like just because she's bigger and stronger, I think Caitlyn maybe eventually will get bigger and stronger and be able to take. But Dinah's a bully, man. So 1v1 now, like, best player that ends up, you know, playing with their team or whatever. I don't know. But like, one on one where you just checking up, like, Dinah will beat the shit out of you. Like, she gonna foul a mess out of Caitlin. It might not even be basketball.
B
I 100% though, am rocking with my girl Caitlyn.
A
Okay. She got to play through contact and you don't.
B
That's okay. And she will. And she will. And when she hits you with that, step back. What now? Okay. That separation. Thank you.
A
Who do you think is the best one on one player in the W? I got one. Ooh, I got one.
B
That you, Kelsey? Yes, that is my Kelsey.
A
Kelsey Mitchell. The stuff she does, I'm like, It's like, not like.
B
It's like you literally.
A
Can't you literally combat crossovers? Like, it's. I called Chelsea before y' all played, and I was like, cuz, you know when your feet. When you start doing this with your feet, that's when you get crossed over. I was like, listen, don't jump with your feet because with Kelsey Mitchell, she.
B
She literally jump and she's waiting for you to just go for something and she's gone. Like, Kelsey is going to cook and.
A
She'S not like, she's not like, in her bag. Like, that speed.
B
That speed is going to take off. I love. Let me tell you, when Kelsey's on the. On the perimeter and she's like, just looking at you, I'm like, you know what? Let me just go stand over here. I'm just gonna go over here.
A
She got a lot of. She got a lot of time perfecting her one on one with the.
B
You do your thing.
A
Because early on, y' all were not good. So.
B
So that's okay. That's a different story now.
A
And look where you guys are now. Look at the benefits.
B
Exactly.
A
Yeah, no, I. I completely agree. Yeah, Kelsey is one of them ones. Yep. I agree. And Nafisa. Nafisa Collier is like, she's so annoying to guard because she has a counter move to every move for everything.
B
And she'll get to that fade and, like, no matter how she gets there.
A
Like, going to fade.
B
Yeah, she's getting to that. Yeah.
A
Yeah, she's. She's annoying to play one on one with because you're just like, can you just not do a counter move?
B
It's gonna be fun, though, to watch the one on. Well, I'm talking about watch. Hopefully I'm in that championship for Unrivaled.
A
Come on, man.
B
You're in it. Sorry.
A
I got.
B
I was thinking about Kelsey and I was like, dude, watching Kelsey, I just pray she's not my first matchup. Please. She will.
A
Literally.
B
It's gonna be so fun because like, you have to play her with some give because she's going to blow by you.
A
You got to, you got to shade her one way. You cannot let her. And literally dancing. Yeah, she'll get you dancing.
B
Good luck to her first matchup, I'll tell you that. And I just pray it's not Aaliyah Boston, please. It's now time for you got this. Presented by Adidas. There's nothing like a great assist to help us remember you got this. Learn more about the you got this message@adidas.com yougot this and follow the action on Instagra. Adidas and Adidas us. Every week we're going to shout out someone who inspired us roasted occasion or made their moment count. This week by you got this moment goes to Rory Harmon. Rory has been hooping and it breaks my heart because she was hooping against my Gamecocks. But back to back big games, dropping 26 points against UCLA, then against my Gamecocks game winner, baseline jumper fade. I mean, she's been doing her thing though. She has been doing her thing. And she also in that game became Texas all time assist leader, which is pretty dope. And she had 777 career assists.
A
Okay, number, look at number seven.
B
You see that? Seven, seven, whatever. But she really deserves it. She has been hooping like she is looking amazing.
A
And Rory's story just at Texas, there's an interview that Vic Schaefer did after their win over UCLA in that semifinal game. And he gets emotional. Just speaking who she is as a human and you know how she carries herself. She went through that devastating ACL injury, came back and then the next year was able to lead her team to a final four. And so just watching her, her leadership, her passion, her ability to like disrupt the game on the defensive end is what has surprised me the most. Just at that size, being able to force charges and make things difficult for teams to get in their offense. I have really enjoyed watching her play. And I couldn't agree with you more, man. I. You picked a. A player that just beat the Gamecocks. I'm pretty surprised.
B
Okay, you didn't have to say that though. You could have just said I picked a player that's been doing her thing. But instead you just. Anyways, so that was my you got this moment presented by Adidas. Next week, it's back to you, Candace.
A
All right, before we wrap things up, we got a few fan questions. If you want to be featured on the show, keep sending them in. You can send DMS to the post moves Instagram, or leave it in the episode comments on YouTube. Our first question is from Smooth Operator. Okay, little shot. A. Who are your sports icon? The person that you had idolized growing up and modeled your game philosophy and mindset after doesn't have to be basketball.
B
Oh, so you are definitely one of them. I literally saw you as such a role model, and that's been that way since I was young. And then also Serena and Venus, because I also played tennis when I was growing up, and we watched, like, the movie that came out about them, and that kind of felt like. Kind of felt like my life with my sister. And so I definitely say you guys.
A
Oh, well, I appreciate you. Well, first, I think the WNBA as a whole for me, because in 97, I remember I was 11 years old when the WNBA started, and it was kind of like being able to see people that, like, acted like me. And it usually was me with a bunch of boys outside playing or playing kickball and sweating and coming in and being the only girl in the line at the water fountain because I was the only one playing. So I think the WNBA as a whole, and then, I mean, Mia Hamm was kind of like, who? I. I grew up a soccer player. I know I wasn't supposed to do three, but I'm gonna do a third. And Brandi Chastain, when she took her shirt off and, like, waved it around her head like a helicopter, and everybody was going in, like, why she took her shirt off. That's unladylike. And I was like, yo, that's some shit I would do. So, yeah, those are my. Those are my three. And of course, Venus and Serena, I mean, they're. They rock.
B
I love it. All right, next question from Craig Opal, 3888. Since you both are college graduates, I'm really curious about your education. What did you major in? I'm going to guess that CP was a business major and AB was a secondary education major. Would like you to share your majors and how you managed to balance the books with the basketball, which was more important to you.
A
Wow. Well, you are spot on. I was sports management as well, and I started off in finance and. And quickly realized I was not going to finish my degree in four years if I stuck with finance because coach would not change practice. And I had a prereq, and I wasn't waiting another year to take that class or the summer to take that class. So therefore, sport management business with a minor in psychology was my major. And I don't know. I think as athletes, we learn how to balance it anyway. So obviously, early on, you have the study table. You have the amount of hours that you have to get to for. For the coaches to feel confident that you can just get stuff done on your own. Me, I hated being in the study center because I felt like there was more conversation and all that going on than, like, actual studying. I mean, like, that was when Facebook came out. That's how freaking old I am. And everybody was, like, on Facebook, and the school academic center had no idea. And so everybody'd be on Facebook the whole time during, like, study hall. So then they started this whole rule where you're like, no social media allowed. I don't even think it was called social media then. Anywho. So that is. I just bounce. I mean, I just got it done. I was like, you guys, I waited till the last minute to study for tests and had to. Had to grind. But honestly, if I were to go back, I might major in history. I'm like, a really. I love history.
B
That's definitely a choice. Yeah. Yes.
A
What about you?
B
I. Initially, my major was going to be psychology, but then I realized I had to go back to school for, like, another year or two to get my doctor's, and I was like, it was never that serious. So what I decided to do was I did communications, I did mass communications, and I decided that I wanted to do broadcasting and be a yapper all the time. And so that's what I did. And I kind of just loved it from the first time I did it. I love doing, like, the research part and, like, about writing stuff, I always love to write. Math was, like, on the other side of the spectrum for me. So being able to write and do all the research is my thing. And so, yeah, and then when it came to managing, I mean, I'm someone that if we have class on Monday and they gave us homework on Monday, I just did it Monday night. So I didn't have anything to do the rest of the week except for focus on basketball.
A
So, wait, so you got your. Your homework done a week in advance?
B
Yeah, like, all the time.
A
Like, I.
B
There was, like, I never made it, like, midweek, and I had stuff to do. Like, I was always done discussion boards done. Like, I was typed to probably be the first One to do discussion boards, and I have to go back on Wednesday when people actually start doing it, to go reply to my two people.
A
Like, I ask you a question. Has there ever been a time in class where, like, the bell rings, so this is like high school or above or below, and you raise your hand, you're like, you didn't collect the homework.
B
I'm not that type of person. Thank you.
A
Okay.
B
I just do my homework. If you forget to collect the homework, I'm not going to because I know my friends didn't do it, so I'm not going to. I'm not going to sell them out. But I. My homework was already done.
A
A woman of the people.
B
Thank you.
A
So here's my thing, and this is what's so hard in parenting, is because I get on my daughter all the time. Like, because you forget to do that piece of homework and like, da, da, da. I sometimes forgot to do homework. Sometimes someone. I would forget to do it when I test rolled around right before class. Holla at your girl. Because I was a great testate.
B
Like, yeah, me too. Except for science, but that's a different topic. Let's just move on.
A
I feel like people need to. To learn deductive reasoning, and then you're good on multiple choice. Yeah, that's what I was trying to explain my daughter. I'm like, you just have to rule out two and a half that are.
B
100%, and most of the time the answer is B.
A
Okay. Don't tell people that. Do not do that, because you're gonna have people flunking tests. All right. At P. Wilson, 1357, if you both could have played anywhere but the schools you chose, who would you have played for in college?
B
Nothing. Gamecock's on top.
A
No, you gotta pick.
B
I'm not picking.
A
You have.
B
Okay, well, I'll say my final four. I'll say what my. My top four was Ohio State, Notre Dame, UConn in South Carolina. What's the issue?
A
I didn't know.
B
Yeah, those are my top four. Yeah. In South Carolina. Best out the business.
A
So you're really not going to pick another school?
B
I'm not going to pick another school because I would never do that.
A
Well, mine was Duke at the time. My top five were Duke, Texas, Maryland, DePaul, Tennessee. I was this close to going to Duke. Really, honestly, like, this close. Coach Gail Guesten course had an amazing visit. Really enjoyed, like, the squad. I actually, like, idolized Elena Beard, and she was kind of like, in college. I was. I wasn't going to play with her because I was younger than her. But yeah, I just really like their campus. I like their vibe. I wanted to go to Duke because I wanted to kind of like my brother went to Wash you and Johns Hopkins. So I was like, this is my way to like, be like, hey, I got a Duke education. And then my other brother played basketball, so it's like, I can do both. And then I was just kind of like, yeah, I like Tennessee better.
B
We had choice, though, so.
A
And this was a time where you couldn't just transfer. So it wasn't like today where people are just.
B
Just get up and leave.
A
You know, whatever. Those are the days. Who. Where would you go now, though?
B
Where would I go now?
A
If you couldn't go to South Carolina, where would you go now?
B
I don't even know at this point. With nil. Shoot.
A
Where the money at offering the bag.
B
Because I already got.
A
I would have brought my ass out to California. I would have probably been at good around here. One of the California schools, maybe Stanford, UCLA or USC would probably would probably be. Yeah, I probably would have brought my, my, my butt out here. Pay them high taxes on that bag. All right, I think that it's our time to say goodbye and bid farewell. We also have a really special guest next week and we are going to laugh the entire episode. Leslie Jones will be joining us. I cannot wait. I need us to have some videos. So you all send in some videos for her to, like, voice over and commentate on because she is one of the funniest people I've ever met in my life. It's a wrap for this week's episode of Post moves.
