"I am constantly looking for new way to express myself with the clarinet, I am in a constant search of new things. If one is a clarinettist, the amount of repertoire, even though it's beautiful, it's very limited. If you compare the choices that the pianists, violinists and cellists have, the clarinettist has around 10% of that. If the music is beautiful, and the music is interesting, and if one can find a dignified way to make it work on a the instrument (the clarinet), then one should definitely do that."
