Are you tired of complicated business advice that rarely delivers any real results? I'm Preston Brown and I've built a nine figure portfolio by following simple business formulas that anyone can use. In my new book, you, First Million Made Easy, I reveal the exact system that I've used to generate hundreds of millions in revenue. And it's frankly a system that works in any industry, with any business and yes, in any market. The good news, it's not about hustle, it's not about running or working or struggling and what it is about creating money instead of just earning it. Because earning money is slavery while creating is freedom. It's about stopping the cycle of managing by crisis and building a business that doesn't depend on you. Transforming your business from a high paying job to an asset that generates money even when you're not there. Whether you're a startup or an established company, this formula will transform your business into a profit driven machine that gives you the time and freedom to to focus on what truly matters. Grab your first Million Made Easy now and let's start the journey of financial freedom together. I look forward to being a part of your story. Hey family, welcome back to Problems to Profit. Today we're going to do a little bit of a different episode. So I want to warn you guys up front that if this is not for you, and there's going to be a lot of you that this is not for, go ahead and tune out as soon as you hear what it's about. I want to tell you guys about what happened and what changed when my business really took off. Because this is one of the things that it's not necessarily for the startup businesses and it's not necessarily for the early businesses. Although I think if you're conscious enough to hear it and understand it, it can add value at any stage. But what this is maybe for is the businesses that have been in development for a while have been stuck and have to learn a little lesson about the energy they're bringing to their business. And you know, that's such an interesting word. What do I mean by the word energy? What do I mean when I say what energy are you bringing to your business? And it sounds esoteric, it sounds crazy, but it's actually profound. My businesses took off when I changed the energy I was showing up with. And not even in whole, in part because I'm still working like I'm still, I'm still trying to always become better than I was yesterday. I'm still chasing it. But I started my businesses out of pain. I started My businesses out of fear. Fear was the energy I brought to my business. My dad got cheated when I was young and he wanted to be an entrepreneur. I watched him frankly give up on what his dreams were of entrepreneurship so that he could still be my dad and be part of our family and everything else. I watched him compromise and it hurt me and it taught me a lesson. When I was young, maybe money was the meaning of life and what ruled the world and the God of this real world was money. And I mean, that's frankly a fairly common thing whether we admit it or not in our western culture. And what that taught that 78 year old kid is like, you need to go find a way to get money, because money equals safety. If my dad had had money, he would not have been cheated. That guy would have not taken advantage of him and we would have had a very different life. So going with that, you can imagine that that 78 year old with that frame and that understanding of what the world was and how life worked brought fear as the reason to build his business. And it wasn't just fear, it was safety. I wanted to build a business that was safe, where I had the ability to be safe and sleep at night and not worry. And that's almost paradoxical because as you grow a business, especially in the modern economy where debt's a major thing, you have more debt, you have more risk, you have more stress, so you have more that you want to be safe from, so it makes more fear. And a lot of times, if you're one of those passionate people like I tend to be, you may not realize that you're shifting passion into anger and you're bringing anger to your business and this karmic law, and it comes out of India and the yogic cultures that like, you get what you give and you receive back what. Not what you want, but rather what you are. And, you know, my business. I had a lot of fights. Like some of you guys that are watching my show. You know, I've been sued by Tony Robbins. Like I had the abundance guy, like the come and sue me. Like I've been in and out of tons of lawsuits. I've been, you know, in my past, dealt with many different con artists that were trying to cheat me. And I honestly do believe that some of that was brought to me as a result of kind of a karmic imbalance, that I built it for the wrong reason. So I want you to frame this. And look, if this is not for you, that's okay. There's lots of Tactics. There's lots of strategies that you'll find in all the other episodes. We bring a lot of those to you. But this episode is for the people that might have the conscious understanding that they are bringing an energy to their business that is having an effect on their business. And we often talk about heart centered entrepreneurs. But I want to get into what being a heart centered entrepreneur means today because I think for some of you, this is going to be the juice and the squeeze of how to make a pivot and change something. One little thing that if you change that, not just will you be happier, but your team will trust you more, your family will see a change in you, your community will be improved, everything around you will start shifting as a result of this. Let's look into a heart driven entrepreneur. What does that mean? Well, a lot of us have become successful in entrepreneurship. We're successful because of the mind. The mind is a very powerful tool. And what does the mind do? The mind cuts things apart and the mind divides. If we can divide something that is an assembly of many things into all of its individual parts, we can understand that at a higher level, the mind is a beautiful tool. But for many of us that are operating out of fear, that are operating out of anger, that are operating out of all of these negative emotions and bringing that to our business, maybe because you feel like you have something to prove, maybe because somebody told you you weren't enough and you had to go do it, maybe because you needed to feel safe and you had to go build something large and structured that could your castle, that you could live in and be safe. But any of those negative emotions that you're bringing to your business are going to karmically generate out and they're going to express through your team, through your product, through your mission, and it's not necessarily a bad thing. Whatever reason you're building, your business is good. So I don't want to make this good or bad. I don't want to put a hierarchy to it. I want to make this just a teachable moment so that there's something that you can chew on and work to understand if you want to. So if the mind divides, what does the heart do? Well, the heart connects. That's what it does. What does the body do? The body feels. It's a biochemical electrical organism. And what do we do? We feel and experience our environment. I mean, you could feel anger, you could feel joy, you could feel happiness, you could feel love. And that's what the body does. The body feels right and there's one thing that I think is deeper, that as I've grown and built some success and traveled the world and met all sorts of amazing people, there's one piece that I don't think most people talk about, and maybe it's not taboo to talk about, but I want to say it like, there's one more listening piece, and I think a speaking piece, if you can get there. And that's the soul, and the soul knows. So you got mind divides, heart connects, body feels, and soul knows. And a lot of times we're not bringing three out of those four players to our entrepreneurial business. We're only bringing the mind. And since the mind divides, a lot of times we're coming at the world with negative emotions. And I could go through examples with all of them, but I'm going to use one that I think drives most entrepreneurs. And it's anger. Anger is a fascinating emotion. Okay, it's a very productive emotion, but it has a core truth in it that you really can only be angry if you're feeling righteous. And if you're feeling righteous, then you need to prove that you are right. And maybe even linked with anger is this fear identity, that if you can't prove that you're right, maybe you won't be enough. Maybe you won't deserve love. Maybe you'll have reason to fear. So anger is linked to fear, and maybe that'll cause depression because you aren't enough. And so all of these negative energies kind of create this web. But anger can only happen if you are right. And every great spiritual teacher that we've ever had has come out and said, the meek shall inherit the earth. You want to become nobody, not somebody. There's been this unique and interesting way that they all talk. Almost everybody in the spiritual space talks about becoming nothing. They talk about hierarchy, which is one of the main things we do in business being less relevant than we think it is. And in a capitalist society, I mean, look, hierarchy is relevant. We do need to have structure to a business. It is called a firm, not a limp. But at the same time, if you've watched enough of my content that you know that the only way to really generate true faith is to find the paradox. The paradox is where faith is required. Can God create a rock so big that God cannot lift the rock? And the answer is yes. And the answer is also no. So when we're looking at just this example of anger, which many of us, many entrepreneurs have felt. Anger, fear, depression. But let's stay with anger. When we're looking at this. You can't feel angry unless you feel right. If you could step back a moment and look at what's behind anger, what's on the opposite side. I mean, we have these frameworks, we have these hierarchies of good and bad, right and wrong. And I'll challenge you. Is God good? Well, sure. I mean, I think God is probably good, but there's probably a lot of people that were smited in the Old Testament. If you go read the Christian Bible, where I don't think they thought God was that good. They kind of thought he was pretty bad. They didn't like the way he treated them. So there's this paradox of, is God good? Is God bad? Well, I guess it depends on which side of the lightning bolt you're on, right? Are you one of his people or somebody else's people? It wasn't good to the people that weren't on his side. So what if God wasn't good or bad, but rather, since he's all powerful, he's on the other side of good and bad? He actually. Or she actually, whatever you want with God, controls good and bad. What if on the other side of good and bad was this place called freedom? What if you needed to be angry? What if you needed to be right because you're focused on a structure, on a form. I want to give you guys a verse that I was reading in the Good Book, and it's such a fascinating verse. It's Galatians 9, 18. If you are led under spirit, you are not under the law. How could God be behind anger? How could God be behind being right? Well, he's not of the law. He's of the spirit. If you are led by the spirit, you are not of the law. Everything that is in form, everything that is in structure, which makes up so much of the entrepreneur world, is of the law. If you are of the law no different than our bodies, you will live, you will grow old, you will die. But your heart is not of the law. If you go ask any medical professional, any doctor, there was a heartbeat. There was electrical impulses in that heart. Before there was a single cell formed in your mother's womb. There was an energy to that heart. There was a soul connection to that heart. So this is bringing me back to the idea of the mind divides, the heart connects, the body feels, the soul knows. This is a tool that we're living. This is part of the human experience. And I think life is human school, and I think we're all beautiful Expressions of God's love. However, I think there's a paradox of hierarchy. I think we need it to exist within. But I think when we can release some of the hierarchy, at least emotionally connect our mind, our heart, our soul and our body, and maybe not always let the mind drive, maybe not always let there be good and bad. Maybe sometimes we can step outside of law and into spirit. Be a heart centered entrepreneur, look at what are the real outcomes you want? What are the real things that you want to create? What's the real purpose? Yes, we need hierarchy in this world, but I don't think God needs it. If God is spirit, he's outside of the law, he is the law. The but he's on the law for those that need it. Are we on the immature side of the business world where we need this law, we need this structure, we need this framework to handle everything. And if the answer is yes, sometimes that's okay. But at what point should it be no? So going back to that anger analogy, you step behind the idea of being right, you step behind anger, you step behind good or bad, and on the other side you'll find this beautiful thing called freedom. And it's a freedom that is intoxicating. You don't need to be somebody or something in that moment, you just be. And when you underwrite or look at things from that moment, you can really see your problems, which I always call gifts. I call problems gifts and love. The meaning of light different. In fact, I would say when you step behind anger, when you step behind being right, you become less heavy, you become less anchored. You become what some people might call a little more enlightened than you were before because you're not as heavy as you were. You have the ability to look at the situation and the circumstance not from a standpoint of anger or frustration or emotional, you know, biochemical push and grind and frustration. And I'm right, they're wrong. But rather, huh, I wonder why that person did that. Maybe you can actually see why they did that. Maybe you can see the energy they're bringing to their circumstance. Maybe you can see that they're operating in a behavior that's outside of love and generosity and spirituality and the energy that hopefully you're wanting to bring to your business. Maybe you don't always do it, but maybe they're operating out of some pain themselves. Maybe they're doing something you've done before and if you look, you can forgive them for it because we're kind of all the same. When you step behind the negative Emotion. And you see that good and bad are both necessary. Light and dark are both necessary. Without hate, you couldn't have love. And in every paradox, there's this opportunity for faith. And even Jesus said in the Christian Bible, I tell you the truth, with the faith of a mustard seed, you could move mountains. It's funny. Jesus, a guy who really never healed anyone yet, they'd reach out and touch him and they were healed. And what did he tell them? Because of your faith, you were healed. Through your faith, you were healed. But he was outside of right and wrong. He stepped behind right and wrong. He did not want to become something. He wanted to become nothing. Because he knew that what was more important than something was an idea. Only ideas can be immortal. He came to break all the rules. He came to give love. He who has no sin cast the first stone. Well, why didn't Jesus throw a stone? Isn't he a. He? Couldn't he have thrown a stone as well? No stones were thrown at the person that would have been subject to right and wrong, the prostitute. When Jesus came and broke all the rules and disrupted everything the Pharisees had, what happened next, huh? Well, after he was gone, we applied a whole bunch of rules to him. A whole bunch of structures, a whole bunch of hierarchies. And we said, here's how we need to control you. The story of Christ is such a funny story. And I'm a Christian, guys. I love Jesus. But I look at it and I think, well, if God sent Jesus as a guide, and then we turned around and we deified him and made him so big and us so small, him so great and us so bad. Him such royalty and us such peasants. How could you ever get close enough to that guide to even be open to the idea of following? You're not enough. You're not worthy. There's so many paradoxes in every aspect of life where we need faith, and there's paradoxes in every aspect of business where we need faith. These are just a few, but the reason I'm framing them, the reason I'm bringing up points that may be controversial and may get me shunned or shamed by some, is because I want you to think of the energy you bring to your business. Because energies are just like people. They want to live on. They want to exist. They want to persist. They don't want to die. They fear death, probably the same way you and I do. Death's another interesting paradox. Do you believe that life is a gift? Well, cool. Do you believe life's A gift God gave you. Great. Do you fear death? Huh? Well, if you fear death, you worship life more than you worship the God that gave you the life. What energy are you bringing to your business? In this world where hierarchy matters, in this world where form matters, in this world where law matters, when you get on the other side of right and wrong, when you get on the other side of anger, when you become nobody even for a minute and just get the opportunity to be, you also might get the opportunity to see. You also might get the opportunity to create. You also might get the opportunity to fall in love. Because it's not called a controlled landing, it's called falling. And you don't have a breakthrough until something breaks. I wanted to put this episode out there for all of my entrepreneur friends because I know the passion you give, I know the amount of energy you put into your work, I know how much you give, you serve, and I know that entrepreneurship is about creation. But there are all these beautiful spiritual teachers that all kind of arrive back to the same idea and identity of become nothing. And you can create from there. And as a creator, as an entrepreneur, I want you to look at the paradox of the energy you're bringing. Are you bringing love? Are you bringing happiness? Are you bringing joy? What's the culture that is emanating from you? I hope this sparks some questions in your heart and in your thoughts. And I'd love to hear them, I'd love you to share them back with me. I'd love you to tell me. I agree. I disagree. I feel you're right here. I feel you're wrong here. If this episode has helped you send me a message with that, if it's confused you more, well, maybe that's the point of life, is to go through the school of life and be a student, a person. And sometimes if you want to learn, you gotta get lost to get found, right? So today I'm bringing you a different episode, Problems to profit. How do you become a heart centered entrepreneur? And I don't want to make anything good or bad. So whatever energy you did start with, it's perfect. It's exactly what it needed to be. Even God himself is outside of and behind good and evil. If God wanted to snap his fingers, the devil would disappear in two seconds. Because God's God. It's funny, when Christ was sitting in his 40 day fast, the devil came to him and said, why not turn this stone into bread? Jesus said, get behind me, Satan. Guys, do you know what Satan is? If you look at the word in Ancient Aramaic. It means crazy thought. Get behind me. Crazy thought. I wonder what thoughts, I wonder what ideas. I wonder what thought demons we've all allowed to become beliefs in our head that could be venting an energy that we don't want to persist into our business. Whatever energy got you here, think it, honor it, but move through it. Find the forgiveness. Fall in love, because it ain't a controlled landing. And when you're ready, start bringing a new energy to your business. Because I'll tell you what's funny. You don't get what you want, you get what you are. And while I've never shared this on screen, I've shared it in a few rooms. I'm ready to put it out there. Because the guys, I mean, guys. The day my business exploded was the day I started the journey of bringing a different energy to my business. Not the day I figured it out, the day I made a decision and chose that road. The day I stopped making it about the money and started making it about the purpose. Started truly living. Those four. Faith, family, fitness, finance, being okay with the problems I had and diving in to solve those because there was no work, life, balance, there was only priorities. But at least I could prioritize the hardest one. And today, for all of you that are out there working like crazy, hustling and grinding, doing all the things to become successful, and I want you there, maybe take a moment, just a moment, stop and think, look at which part of your business is fueled by which energy that you're driving it from and what other options are there. And I'm going to leave you with a little framework that I work with myself on all the time. It's like a staircase, and it goes as being, becoming, believing, belonging and blessing. Those are the steps. And they all give gifts. So take that problem, take that energy, take that thought, take that identity, take that story that you're living and believing, that's creating that energy you don't want. And apply this process, even if it's for five minutes in the car, five minutes on the road, or five minutes sitting there. Being gives you time. It gives you stillness. It gives you the ability to separate from the problem, to get on the other side of anger, the other side of form, the other side of law. Then you make a decision and you move into becoming. You take steps, measurable steps, and they give you talent. Because as you move and you measure, you learn. Once you've had talent enough and you've made some productivity towards the right direction, you get this next one in the step called believing testimony. Facts tell. Stories sell, guys. Testimony is the thing that starts changing the story, changing the identity, changing the ideas. Everything in your life is a formula or it's a group of stories that makes you who you are. Once you've actually changed your testimony, it's a matter of time before you get to the step of belonging. And that's treasure. That's when you start getting rewarded. A lot of people stop here, but you don't have to. You can move on to the next one, which is why I'm doing this podcast, Blessing. That's where you get this little gift called truth and this little gift called trust. It's the only one that gives you two gifts. A lot of people don't want to take both. It's very hard to trust. And the truth is a scary thing. In fact, there's nothing in this world that's ever triggered you, generally outside of the truth that you find inside of you, which is normally something you need to learn and a problem. That could be a gift and a guide. Well, I think that's enough for today, guys. I hope you all have an amazing day on purpose. I hope you look at the energy you bring into your business, and I want you to know you are all beautiful expressions of God's love and purpose in your own right. Don't make this right or wrong. Just go look at how you can make little incremental shifts every day. Have an amazing day on purpose, with purpose.
