July 3, 8am and it's already over 90 degrees. We survived the Metro ride and a casual chat with the 30 some members of the National Guard who were hanging around outside the station. By the time I reach the Museum of the Bible, I can feel the sweat running down the back of my calves. I tell myself that this is worth it. This is sane. The blast of air conditioning upon entering the museum got the first praise Jesus of the weekend out of me. The Museum of the Bible is breathtakingly huge, and the line upon entering was long. We went to the very back of it, wiping the sweat from our foreheads to better see the Prince of George Washington praying at Valley Forge Crown of Thorns necklaces and the baffling Declaration of Independence comic books that were selling for $4 apiece. The gift shop might have been closed, but through the glass, we spotted. Spotted the colorful Dead Sea Squirrels display, which the woman behind us in line gleefully endorsed because her grandchildren absolutely loved them.

Later, we. Wait a minute. Hold on, hold on. Dead Sea Squirrels. You can't just throw that away. We gotta dig a little bit deeper on that.

It's a clever pun on Dead Sea Scrolls, you see?

So do they have, like, taxidermied squirrels sort of holding each of the scrolls and a little plaque saying, like, this is what this scroll says.

They're these little cartoon squirrels that go on a. In at least a book series, possibly a TV series as well. And it's done by the guy who voiced Larry the cucumber on VeggieTales. He's been trying to make this a thing since 2019. If you look at his social media, you can see a Covid mask he created that is a little squirrel nose and, like, buck teeth that he was selling during the pandemic. It's also bright green for some reason.

We later learned that he was one of the heads of the Ministry for the Intercessors for America. Just before getting to the main area of the conference, we were herded in front of a photo of the Founding Fathers. The bright and bubbly young woman who took our pictures was the daughter of the current CEO and President of the ifa. So this was a very much a family affair. This was the place to be if you wanted to be praying for America. We made it in with a sigh of relief. The realization hit us. We had devoted a full weekend to this. I looked at my phone and saw a push notification for an article from the Atlantic. Hell Arrives in Washington it proclaimed in all caps. Well, at least we had good air conditioning. Here in the belly of the beast with the most patriotic Christians that America

has to offer, this was where the real Christians were going to be. Not with those chuds. Over at the Great American State Fair. Four days before the event, we received an email with a jam packed schedule that awaited us. 9:00am Opening session, 5:00pm Program concludes.

Yeah, at least the list of speakers had gained an interesting last minute edition while it had read the same from the get go. A week prior to the event, the keynote speaker was revealed to us Spiritual Warfare General herself, Cindy Jacobs.

So the very, very short version of this is that every Christian is called to be an intercessor. So if you're a Christian and you don't know what an intercessor is, I guess you've kind of failed in the eyes of the intercessors for America. Intercessors are people who have been called to a special higher purpose. This needs to be an actionable mission. When intercessors pray, they see quick results and they do get results. So this is a way to prayer, Max. Essentially, they are charismatic Christians and they all band together to bring about change on a national and international scale. So IFA specifically notes the following when

it comes to effective intercession requires a prophetic perspective by hearing the voice of the Lord through the leading of the Holy Spirit, coupled with vetted and strategic information that is never presented in a sensationalist manner.

So in short, not only does intercession call for specifically praying for something, but you need to be hearing the voice of God as well. You might get a little bit of prophetic action happening for you. So intercession, according to IFA is a pretty spiritual affair. But on that note, who the fuck are the intercessors for America? Well, their website has a helpful definition for all of us. It states that the IFA was founded in the heat of the Nixon years, 1973, to combat the following political corruption,

foreign war, an energy crisis, unjust and unbiblical laws, abortion, a growing acceptance of drug use and sexual immorality. IFA publishes news that Christians need to pray about in a variety of easily accessible formats. So it's kind of convenient if you don't know what. What political issues to Pray about. You have a quick fact sheet to know where to direct your prayers.

It gets even better because the three main pillars of the IFA are the following.

This sounds a lot like CNN, you know, news, prayer, action.

CNN's gone in a really interesting direction. Their main website is ifapraise.org and in addition to housing useful resources for members, such as a truly unhinged amount of small booklets that Trey ended up signing up for, it also functions as a news aggre website designed to pull headlines to support their chosen narrative of the day. So first, find the news. Second, translate the news into something that the intercessors can actually pray about in a specific way to intercede for our nation and more specifically, our leaders. Third, and most important, you gotta take action.

Many of our intercessors serve as election staff on school boards, in state legislatures, throughout the halls of Congress, and even in the executive branches of the state and the nation. So they can send, quote, millions of prayer messages to elected officials each year. This is like Christian Leninism. They're like building dual power.

You've got it, Liv. They are onto something here. And what it is is not good. Because while typical Christians are focusing on issues such as pro life advocacy, gender and sexuality, marriage and the family, the IFA is very unique because although they do care about these things and care about it a lot, their heaviest focus is on national security, combating anti Christian bias, and most importantly, spiritual warfare. Their website states, there is an enemy

of our souls in our nation who orchestrates a coordinated battle plan that is discernible and beatable with spiritual weapons.

So how are you guys feeling about this?

No, well, yeah, Rising dread. That's how I'm feeling right now. Rising dread.

My brain is so cooked that when you say spiritual weapons, I'm like some yellow or gold colored probably.

I think it's a mithril based. Actually need to build up my mana a little bit because this is just draining it each time I use this attack.

Probably slotted weapons if I had to guess. It's the only way I can protect myself, honestly. It's really. It's like, you know the foam that you put in your attic, it's like that's what's going between like my skull and my brain is like a nice little. Just a nice little pad.

So let's talk about prayer and why it bothers me so much. In this setting, you can pray for literally anything. Prayer can be basic kindergarten rhymes. Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep ingrained from an early age. Even metallic does that. One prayer can be asking for miracles for yourself. Prayer on behalf of others is interceding. That's what intercessory prayer actually is. But what you're praying for matters. Remember the scene in Bruce Almighty where Jim Carrey grants every prayer with yes and is shocked to find out that all of the sports teams playing that day tied and the lottery was split amongst hundreds of thousands of people who each got $17? There's a message in that it's impossible for all prayers to be answered in the affirmative. Do people die because their loved ones didn't pray hard enough? That train of thought will quickly drive you mad. Praying is a tool for the faithful, and tools can have multiple uses. This one though, is beating plowshares into swords and pruning hooks into spears. Praying for everyone on earth to be converted to your specific brand of Christianity is Christian dominionism. Innocently done. It's disrespectful at best. At the level of influence that IFA has, it's evil. It's praying to a higher power and trying to get that higher power to serve you and your ends. And there's absolutely no way you can opt out of it. The same way you can't opt out of unasked for AI added features you get in software updates. They're praying to convert you and the hundreds of unreached people groups around the globe, and there's nothing you can do to stop it. All the while they're crying loudly and repeatedly about the invasion of Sharia law.

Wonderfully American Protestant, that the God you're praying to is, like yourself, Homo economicus.

I often remember the joke about as long as there are tests, there will be prayer in public schools. That's obviously a lot different than trying to force prayer on public schools or praying to force prayer on public schools, or praying for godly men and women of influence.

It also reminds me a lot of the Mormons praying to convert people after they're dead to be Mormons.

Oh, yeah.

You're in this club no matter what.

Yeah. The posthumous conversion of Anne Frank. Yeah. Wait, what? They will posthumously, I believe, baptize figures into Mormonism to make sure they don't go to hell. Because they do. As if you're not Mormon and you don't go to heaven. I believe. And so it's like, well, we gotta baptize Anne Frank because she doesn't deserve to go to hell.

This was a big one for me. They literally quote the SPLC designated hate group center for Immigration Studies, but that number doesn't appear in the article text anywhere. There's a graph showing that labor force participation for less educated prime age 25 to 54 US born men remains at historic lows compared to prior peaks in the business cycle, and that all education levels went from 88.3 to 88.4 between 2019 to 2024. Despite being written by CIS's director of research Stephen Camarota, the fact that IFA is pulling a, shall we say, suspect percentage with heavy white nationalist meaning out of thin air is appalling. Also, it's not really news. That article was written nearly two years prior to publication of the IFA's piece. So that's IFA in a nutshell. They aggregate scary sounding headlines in order to mobilize prayer warriors to rally behind the cause du jour of the theocrats running the government. Before we get to the event itself, I'd like to spin it on definitions if I may. And this is about the biggest disagreement Jack and I have had in our friendship so far. Was this a new Apostolic Reformation event? Cindy Jacobs and Dutch Sheets are clear NAR members, but I don't want to fall into the trap of assuming anyone who uses the title Apostle and Prophet is nar. The NAR label is one that should be reserved for those in C. Peter Wagner's inner circle. And while that definitely includes Dutch and Cindy, I'm not sure about the the rest of the players. That having been said, the other players are all part of the Apostolic and Prophetic movement, and they are all definitely Dominionists. So maybe calling it NAR Affiliated or second degree NAR would be more fitting than anything else. As always, I will refer to the experts in the field, notably Dr. Matthew D. Taylor heard on episode 375 as well.

Morning of July 3rd. We gave our names, we got our badges. They never checked our tickets or id. Trey didn't even have any trouble getting a voice recorder in on July 4th. None of the security even bothered to look in the bags that we brought along with us after we walked through the metal detector. While this might look like terrible security, you gotta wonder what. What sane person would pony up the $250 just to see what IFA was up to? Maybe they were right for thinking no sane person would be stopping by. The Museum of the Bible was beautiful. The tall ceilings and the wide hallways make you feel very small, which is only appropriate considering this is supposed to be a religious museum. We did not use the free tickets that we got to attend the Museum of the Bible that Sunday. But again, that might have been been a good thing. Neither one of us felt like braving the way through the fireworks induced smog that was blanketing the DC and all points southeast. But we did say that we would end up going back there at some point once the air was safe to breathe again. From there, it was time to head upstairs and hit the merch in the resource tables. Intercessors for America was very generous with these resources, much like they are on the actual website. They gave us a free tote bag and one of their little Bible in a year deal that includes ample sections on how to pray for all of your government officials. The merch table featured the intriguingly titled the Executive Orders of President Donald J. Trump, A biblical perspective by Dr. Jim Garlow, who we'd later see speak at the event. Danny Goke had his own merch table, as did one of the other speakers at the event, Rich Swingle and the intriguing Patriot Mobile, the only conservative Christian mobile network. Anybody want to describe what's in this picture?

They had a lot to say. They also had a really, really unhinged ad that I encourage everybody to look up. We took a seat near the back of the full 500 seat auditorium. I had had my doubts about whether or not this sold out like it claimed on the website, but it looks like it did. By sheer coincidence, we were sat next to Dr. Corinthia Ridgely Boone, one of the founding members of the Intercessors for America who was also instrumental in the creation of the museum. At 91 years old, she was still quite spry, extremely well spoken and a true joy to talk to. She regaled us with stories of her good friend General Cindy Jacobs, dear Mart Green of Hobby Lobby fame who helped build the museum, and her longtime correspondent with the inspirational prophet Dutch Sheets. Intercessors for America, she said, is full of prophets and she was sure we'd be meeting some very soon. She also shared her worries with us about the direction the world was going. There's too many anti Christian laws being passed and so many children don't even know the words to the Lord's Prayer. Can you believe that?

I don't think I know the words.

Most people think of it as something behind us. A collection of names, dates, monuments, something that happened, something finished, something written long ago. When we think of past history makers, we think of founders, patriots, reformers, men and women whose names fill books and museums. People who seem larger than life. But at one point they weren't. They were ordinary people who found themselves standing in extraordinary moments and chose faithfulness.

I mean, I keep thinking about like the way in which the far right has so fully embraced AI because they're able to like make media of their fantasies so easily without having to rely upon, you know, artists usually don't agree

with their views yeah, and it's not like they care about being tacky anyways.

And we used to have reenactors for this kind of video. We used to be a proper country.

It was not a good video. And the use of AI within it is extremely apparent as it goes on. They. They show a person running for office, and his name is David Chen. And the AI renders it as D A U U E D Chen. There's a school board. And you can tell it's a school board because the desk is labeled school board in the middle of it.

And then there's my favorite, which is again, keep in mind, this is at a Christian prayer event. And they had to AI generate footage from inside of a church with a scripture passage on the screen being titled Scripture 10, chapter 21, verses 15 to 17. It is beyond parody.

And we had to watch this so many times. And people cheered each time. Each time it was like, this is something new, guys.

Trey's so mad. I can see how mad you are. You guys can't see him on video. You can only see. You can only hear the audio. As somebody who has studied, you know, Christian texts like this must have been, I mean, just soul crushing.

David Kubal, PMC Corinthia's dear friend Dave is the CEO and President of the Intercessors for America. Before the IFA, he was at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, state director, regional director, vice President of training and Leadership development. Kubal received his Masters of Divinity from Asbury Seminary, which was recently in the news for being dropped by the United Methodist Church as an approved school due to their views of traditional marriage. What do you guys think of this picture of him?

You know, he. I mean, he's got a sport jacket on. He looks very tanned, honestly. Looks like a Florida grandpa.

For me, he was kind of the man that you picture in your head when you hear the word ankh.

He was goofy. He was Laid back. He was constantly cracking cheesy jokes that got audible groans from the audience, but they were still cheering him on. He had a filler segment that he ran multiple times titled Fun Facts with Dave and even created two AI Generated theme songs to introduce it. The fact it was AI Generated, he kept mentioning. And I have to admit, I still have the fucking first theme song stuck in my head. Even days after the event, I'll just be going about my business, and suddenly Fun Facts with Dave will just start playing in my head, making me want to rip it out of my ears. But he was like an easy guy to like. Can you describe this image?

Is this kind of like the. The map of the Berlin conference of European powers carving up Africa? A little bit, but it seems to be some. They're carving up something else. It's a group of people carving up something else.

So this is actually from the great Cheese incident when Andrew Jackson was gifted, I believe, 1400 pounds of cheese, left it in the rotunda. And then that created. And see if you can spot where he's going with this. That created such a mess that it had to be cleaned up by the next administration.

found out about this and that that next president was, in fact, David Kuball's direct ancestor, Martin Van Beer.

The fact that, like in English, there's no distinction between the people who work the farm and the people who own them is doing a lot of work in these sort of discourses.

From this discovery of the polio vaccine to the mass production of penicillin to pioneering cancer treatments to mapping of the human genome, American innovation has helped save countless, countless millions of lives around the world. This would be the only positive thing about vaccines said the entire weekend. Smallpox vaccine was blamed for the death of Princeton College President David brainer, and the COVID 19 vaccine was roundly booed a few times and outright renounced by HHS Dr. Tammy Huizinga on stage on Saturday. Then we got our first mention of Psalm 33, verse 12, a favorite of both the IFA and the museum of the Bible Gift Shop. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. As an aside, Psalm 33:12 and 2 Chronicles 7:14, the verse that Trump read at rededicate 250, and that was immediately followed up by Lou Engel and Dutch Sheets himself itself would be the most cited verses. Over the course of the weekend, Kubal set the agenda for the day and for the weekend. We were going to recount God's hand upon our nation with a talk from Jim Garlow. We were going to reclaim the covenants God made with us with a speech from Kubal, and we were going to rededicate our nation to the Lord with a lecture from Dutch Sheets. And then the next day we might even get a prophecy from spiritual warfare general Cindy Jacobs herself. He stressed that this event may have been a bit different than the usual IFA event.

We're not launching anything. We don't have any new initiatives. We're not trying to raise money. We're here to celebrate what God has done. We're not going to alarm you with the latest issue, the latest front against our freedoms. We're here to celebrate.

about that, Travis, because this event was a victory lap for the IFA. They had no illusions about just how important May 17 had been to their cause. He also mentioned that each speaker would have a scripture reading, his walk up music. And you guessed it, it wasn't a live person reading. It was an AI voiceover from the public reading of Scripture, the IFA's upcoming Bible reading, the AT app. No human I have ever met who is ingrained in Christian scripture would pronounce it Philistines. It's Philistines. They were putting the emphasis on the wrong syllable, but they did have cool background music and sound effects which I can't recreate with my poor simple voice box.

It was kind of like Hallow Jake, like live Hallow.

Yeah, I did check. It does not seem to be the same audio as prey.com but I I might just not have dug far enough or subscribed enough to pray to find that yet. The public reading was followed by some music by Deji Olayinka, Israel and his band the Israel Project. He didn't name it. Kubal named that on stage for him, who was honestly a beacon of hope throughout the weekend. While he did perform both here and at rededicate 250, he's a wonderful musician with an earnest faith and message of love and acceptance that resonated with the crowd.

A historian so next up on the docket was Dr. Jim Garlow. He is a leader in the new Apostolic reformation, though unlike the others who we would be meeting over the weekend, not a prophet. He's authored a number of books, his most recent one being the Executive orders of President Donald J. Trump. A Biblical Perspective. So you can kind of get an idea of who this guy is. He is an influencer with the primary goal being influencing the eradication of the separation between church and state. He's perhaps, perhaps best known to listeners as one of the biggest warriors in support of Proposition 8 banning same sex marriage in 2008 California. In the bio that Kubal gave him as an introduction he noted that not only does well versed Garlow's ministry minister to members of Congress but also to members of parliament and elected officials all across the globe. Kubal used the phrase diplomat for God to describe Jim Garland.

We both have M Divs from Asbury Seminary and know anything about what's happening with Asbury? Our hearts are mourning today because of that. But he has a doctorate in theological history now. I didn't even know you could have one of those. But he has that. And he told me at in as we were talking about the recount portion and his. His content for what he's about to share with you. He said this and I think it'll amaze you. He's always wanted to give this talk. Amen, but he's never had a chance. So the Lord lined up a guy who is known across the globe as a diplomat for God, who has a doctorate in theological history history to give his favorite message that he has never given, to bring it on the 250th

anniversary of our nation.

Garlo was definitely a theological historian and his talk started with the early days of American history and once again, a heavily generative AI based slideshow. We don't need to really talk about the details because it's probably easier to note when something wasn't AI generated. For the most part, his talk was pretty dry. There's one interesting thing I'd like to call out.

The Puritans. Come. There's a difference between Separatists and Puritans. We'll talk about in a moment. And so let's go to the next slide. The Puritans were congregational in church government. They were not highly centralized. In other words, it didn't have a top down government per se. They were Congregational. Each congregation had a level of autonomy, but they were very uniform. They followed the exact same practices and it was expected they would flow in the same way. Theologically, they were Calvinistic. They were impacted by John Calvin from Geneva, Switzerland, one of the more brilliant systematic theologians of any of church history. They believed in sovereignty of God, predestination. They had a strong sense of church discipline and they carried that in uniformity across the early days in New England and theocratic. They believed that God and the word of God needed to govern. Don't think theocracy in a bad negative term now think of it in a positive term, that God is the one who forms and shapes government and has the ultimate stay of the next slide.

As I mentioned earlier, vaccines were a hot topic even in a historical talk.

David Brainerd was a very famous missionary who cared deeply for the Native Americans. He became the president of Princeton College, today Princeton University. But he took the COVID vaccine. And the funniest part of all of this was as we all exited the auditorium at the end of the first day, people were just leaving their flags in a pile on a chair. The lyrics on the big screen lagged behind, but we all knew the words anyway because, of course, everybody here in the audience identified as a patriot.

This is a multicultural group.

And I will say that it seems to be the reading I've done. This was one of two performances Swingle put on, one on each day. In fact, on the second day, he ended the entire proceeding in this. He was acting as Reverend John Bacon and basically was just doing a lot of inside jokes for the IFA that had the crowd literally dying with laughter. For instance, he made at least two references to the three pillars of the IFA News prayer action, complete with triumphant fist pumps into the air. He even referenced Dutch sheets, give him 15, referring to it as. As give unto our Lord a quarter of an hour. Some of these jokes, though, were much more pointed. For instance, Liv, if that didn't get you, would this frighteningly strange scenario get you?

The sound of all 500 people in the small theater roaring with excitement as he stepped out on stage was likely loud enough to be heard outside. While the bulk of the excitement was to finally see Prophet Dutch himself, at least some of it had to be relief that the seven minutes of Walk Up AI Scripture was finally fucking over. It was not good, guys. It was so boring. Even the little sound effects that reminded me a lot of Hallow, that was not doing it for me. It was painful. Now Dust Sheets is a prophet in the new Apostolic Reformation. He's a graduate of Christ for the Nation's Institute, which is a university accredited by the International Christian Accrediting Association. So not by the actual state, but by a private organization run by Oral Roberts University leadership. He's written 23 books, so he's probably about as busy as Kash Patel. And this includes includes an appeal to heaven, which repopularized that flag thanks to prophecies about it. Most importantly, he is a member of the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders along with Cindy Jacobs.

Or maybe it's like, you know, you make them have a vision and then you just shit on their desk like they did at the Capitol. Prophet Dutch's talk began as something of a reflection, focused primarily around a particular event that moved him.

I didn't know what intercession really was, that it was maybe a higher form of prayer. I didn't know. But it was Intercessors for America, beginning the journey of teaching others and leading us in praying for America. It's hard for me to believe that's been 50 years, but it's been a wonderful journey. I can't tell you how much I Appreciate Dave and this ministry. I believe I've said it many times. This is the. As far as I'm concerned, it's the point of the spear for prayer in our nation. And I appreciate it very much. I've really wrestled with which direction to go today. There's so much in my heart. I've relived my journey quite a bit. The last couple of months since May 17th.

He discussed how he first learned about the existence of prophets thanks to General Cindy Jacobs, and then related a story that he has only rarely shared before that of one of his first prophetic experiences.

Began giving me his heart for America in the 80s, 1990. He gave me a vision that. That was new to me. I never had a vision, vision or anything like this before. I was speaking to a group maybe about a third this size, and suddenly with my eyes wide open, I was not seeing the people in the room. I was seeing something else. And it was frankly, a bit unnerving at first. I just thought, what business? And I stopped and watched this vision. The people in the room obviously knew something was happening, and they just watched me as I watched whatever I was watching. But the Lord showed me a stadium filled with young people, and they were radical in their passion for Jesus, their worship, their intercession, just radically on fire. And then the scene changed and they were dismissed. And I saw them in the parking lot about to go back to whatever part of the country they had come from. Must have been 60, 70,000 of them. And in this vision, everywhere they went, balls of fire spreading revival fire in the nation. And as I came out of this, the Lord said to me, I'm going to send a third great awakening to America. He said, it will begin with the youth.

[Trey Grace]

This also, I'm just now realizing easily, could have been a reference to Lou Engels the call tall prayer movements that were also on the mall about 10 years after this. And this concept of a great awakening being led by the youth was the one that would be echoed later by prophet Cindy and something that seemed to be on the mind of many of the people there. Dr. Corinthia had spoken about it for some time, as did other faith leaders in casual conversation.

So were they perhaps a little cognizant of the facts, like, listen, our movement is a little appealing to the senior citizens right now. It doesn't really have much of a future until we get, you know, 20 somethings on board with this prophetic sort of idea.

[Trey Grace]

Aside from family members, Jack and I might have been some of the youngest people there.

[Jack Laroche]

And the lack of young people within this movement was something that Corinthia was very aware of, you know, hence her comment about, you know, young people don't even know the Lord's Prayer anymore, you know, so it was definitely on a lot of people's minds.

And don't worry, Travis, there's a plan in that, and we'll get to that prophecy in a little bit. From there, he spoke once more about May 17th.

I feel like May 17th was not the end, but a new beginning. I believe the rededication was extremely important. I do not feel like necessarily what happened that day had to be just right or that even what happened that day was what caused or created this new opportunity we're moving into. I think the work has been done over the last 30 years by people like. Like you, who've been praying. It was one of the rare times that I felt like we would just win by showing up that most of the work to get us to that point had been done, if not all of it. And we were just showing up and saying, thank you, Lord. We just declare we're here now and we're moving forward. I studied the word dedicate shortly. Shortly after I heard about this gathering. Not this one, but the May 17 gathering. I said, lord, show me some things from Scripture about what this would mean for the nation.

What is he even talking about? He's like, God, this date. And the Lord is showing me numbers and blah, blah, blah, blah.

You've never felt the desire to, like, know the etymology of a word.

A reminder that May 17, 1776, was a day of prayer and fasting. And one of the other, through lines of the event is, without May 17, 1776, the Founding Fathers wouldn't have had the spiritual gumption in them to declare their independence on July 4th.

Oh, I see. So he's like, it's really not about these guys and what they did. It's about a day of prayer a little bit before then, where God surely gave them the opportunity idea to do this. That's it.

Yep. And again, that's why Rededicate 250 was held on the National Mall on May 17. That is, in their opinion, one of the biggest unheralded dates in American history. Because that was the hinge of history moment. July 4th. That was just people, you know, it was men putting their name on a piece of paper. It wasn't prayer driven the same way that May 17th was.

Exactly. Why can't, like, we just be God's creatures? And we did something. We did Something divine by declaring our freedom. Why? Why can't it just be that? Why does it have to be that? Like, actually, like, they had. No. Is it that they have to take all sort of, like, influence of man out of America? Is that what they're trying to do? That this is just a. Purely destined by God?

The discussion then turned into an interesting, if deeply nerdy, discussion of biblical linguistics and what the word dedicate and rededicate might mean biblically. Looking from Dutch to the audience, it was clear that some were struggling with their attention, flagging in spite of the fact that he explained one of the words that meant dedicate was haram, which was the root for the modern day word harem. And that dedicate, in that sense was a very intimate thing, giving your body and soul over to a. To another. This led to the interesting order that we should, quote, be dedicated to God like a wife to her husband.

It was also not at all all that interesting compared to what we were waiting for. There was talk of demonic activity in Wilkes Bare, Pennsylvania, which I still think should be pronounced bar. And how this was defeated with a day of prayer. I've looked into this and there is a spot that is still considered sacred to right around that town called Hexenkopf. But I'm not sure if this exactly was what she was referring to. She talked of terrorists being thwarted through intercessory prayer intervention and Masonic activity being overcome through. This was the first explicit call to action that had occurred. It had been hinted at through Dutch Sheets talking, but Chris Kubal saying, we need to literally put our lives on the line. She stressed immediately, before even answering the first question that was postulated to her, that she was here for personal reasons, not at all due to her governmental position, which was pretty hilarious given the fact that the first night they screamed by dawn's early light, where we got to hear from people like Pete Hegseth and Cash Patel and Mike Johnson and company, all also not appearing. Appearing in the movie at all in the name of the government, even though they are the fucking government. So, you know, all personal capacity. She talked a lot about changes in medicine over the past 40 years and seems to believe that a lot of places were still operating on medical knowledge that we got over 40 years ago. And not updating with the times and getting with the times, in her mind meant focusing primarily on nutrition, because what we put in our bodies reflects on our health. So she mentioned, for instance, the changes that happened to the food pyramid and got a massive cheer from the entire crowd. Somehow raw milk was not mentioned by her. But I was bracing myself because I was pretty sure that was going to start coming up. The biggest moment from Ms. Tammy Bourne Huzinga was this, which she said in reference to the importance of good nutrition. Jack and I both had a headache before she started talking and it didn't get better through her half hour. Anytime she happened to say something particularly heinous, she hedged it with a chuckle and a oh, there I go preaching again.

Surprisingly, she also indicated that even someone as horrible as Mamdani could be saved, although she struggles to believe such a thing would be possible. So there you have it. Miles reiterated the popular talking point that Kirk wanted to create the most conservative, most Christian generation in history, and emphasized always that prayer itself is an ethos. Throughout the talk, Charlie Kirk's death was referenced only as September 10th, as if turning September 11th into a full two day jingo egoistic fest was the right move.

But considering how it's been less than a year since Charlie Kirk was killed, I have to say it was truly amazing to watch the way he moved into the crowd so calmly. He bowed his head and relaxed his shoulders as everyone clamored to put their hands on him. I managed to place my palm between his shoulder blades and what I felt was an utterly relaxed guy. There was no tension in his muscles. It was just a total submission to the swarm of people around him murmuring prayers. And it sounded like a field of cicadas. Everybody was just a babbling louder and louder for minutes on end.

[Jake Rockatansky]

Jesus, Jesus, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, Jesus, please.

[Jack Laroche]

It sounded like that Jake.

It was.

It could have been in like one of those Blumhouse movies, like a haunted house. It was wild.

It's really scary.

And if I may, that that's also something that IFA does on a lot of their prayer calls. It's called an all pray and is anybody who has been on a conference call since the start of COVID it is exactly as horrendous as it sounds like. It's just everybody. Mike on praying full blast going for it. You can't make anything out. It was great cover because I had to pray for some absolutely horrendous things this weekend just to like, not be noticed. And I. I come from a not evangelical Christian background, I think I can say so. All of this felt like a totally different religion than what I was raised with. I was more of a kneeling hands clasped in prayer. Christian kid growing up is bonkers.

[Jack Laroche]

So after this amazing all pray event, I managed to get Miles's attention, got to look him in the eye, shake his hand and thank him for the pagan threat. I told him he was why I was there that day. He looked me right back in the eye, blessed me smile, just absolutely beaming on his face. It was one of the most surreal experiences of my life. The musician. Have you guys heard of Danny Goki?

[Jake Rockatansky]

I feel like I should. It sounds like a. It sounds like an important name.

[Jack Laroche]

Have you watched America? American Idol?

[Jake Rockatansky]

Not recently.

[Jack Laroche]

Well, he was on it in 2009, so it might have overlapped. If you want to get an idea of him, there's a wonderful video on YouTube of him singing dream on. The American Idol fans affectionately refer to it as scream on. And one of the cringiest performances of the show. He ended up placing third on season eight behind Chris Allen. And the frequent Queen collaborator at Adam Lambert. So just imagine you're going up against fucking Adam Lambert. Good times. He was open on the show about both his faith covering Carrie Underwood's song Jesus Take the Wheel, which is about a car crash, as far as I can tell, as well as the tragic loss of his first wife. Only a few months before he auditioned, he was a crowd favorite, and that crowd has largely followed him into his highly successful career as a Christian musician. To get an idea of what he looked like, if we were calling Alex Jones Dark Macklemore, this guy is rabidly conservative Christian. Adam Conover.

God, I hate it. Yeah, that's accurate.

[Liv Agar]

I like that image.

[Jack Laroche]

No, it's. It's even worse in person with him wearing an all white suit.

[Jake Rockatansky]

Yeah. Bad beard on this guy. I gotta say, the beard on this guy is like. It gives me. It gives me anxiety. It's like really funny, fluffy, really dark. But also looks fake.

[Jack Laroche]

Yeah, a lot of him looks fake.

Yeah. Danny ruins everything.

So Goki performed a full set for this eager audience, all while trying his hand at prophecy. As he performed, music videos for his songs played behind him, sharing the lyrics so we could sing along, as well as showing more provocative images. The most notable of the kind of interesting things that came out of this dude's mouth was him ad libbing the words, words communist LA during his cover of God Bless the usa. But the most provocative of the images came during his song Makeup, which was off of his latest album. The music video, notably, cannot be found anywhere online. I braved the wilds of Rumble trying to find it and came up with nothing. But this is the backstory for the music video that he explained to the assembled crowd.

He's a prophetic guy. His name is Tomi Iorobi. Have you heard of him? I saw him in Atlanta and I heard him preach a message. I was so impacted by the message, I said, I'm gonna write a song about this. It's not for the faint of heart, though, but as intercessors. If there's any kids in the room, I would say that maybe this is like a PG13 video. I don't. Y' all are just big kids, it looks like. Just got a bunch of big kids in here. But he was preaching about Jezebel. One of her very last acts that she. That she. She did was that she put makeup on. And he correlated that because then she was killed. Right. She was pushed out of window, I believe. But he said the Enemy, like Jezebel, loves to dress up evil. Loves to take. Put makeup on sins. Anyways, I'm gonna let this video do the speaking. It's a little. Little radical. But as prayer wars, we need to know what we're up against so that we can reveal the truth. Amen. Listen, we have to expose the truth.

So can you guys please describe the images that are from the music video for Makeup, the one you can't find online?

Someone's being, like, interrogated.

That's goofy on the right.

[Liv Agar]

Yeah, I see. And he's. There's, like, a masked man who seems to be interrogating him. We have a lady who's. She's sticking her tongue out, and she's, like, wearing this very tight shirt that's. That says God is trans. That's presumably being, you know, put in for a negative. And then we have. We have a drag queen making some sort of. Is that like, you know, when they do, like, the student speeches at Harvard?

[Jack Laroche]

It looks like it.

[Liv Agar]

Something like that. Like addressing a crowd of people with a lectern is a drag queen.

[Jake Rockatansky]

Oh, my Lord.

[Liv Agar]

Then we got the Joker, of course, behind Danny Goki.

[Jack Laroche]

Yes. Danny Goki is slamming his fists against the table. His handcuffed fists.

[Liv Agar]

Oh, it's a TikTok knife.

[Jack Laroche]

Wake up.

And then it's a good thing you got that picture when you did Jack, because those demonic clown figures weren't on screen very long, and they vanished suddenly.

[Liv Agar]

I assume that's AI generated. It looks a little.

[Trey Grace]

I think he actually had people for this one.

[Liv Agar]

I'm not sure.

[Jack Laroche]

I. I do feel like the clowns might have been AI generated, though, due to just how clean those lines are possible. But I do think that the goddess trans person looks like a very fun person to hang out with.

Yeah, I think so.

So this music video is one that he only shows live and only shows in very specific situations. I couldn't find any real mention of it online. So it. It was interesting.

I can confidently say that these people have wasted their lives.

Tomi Arione, who he mentioned as the prophet that inspired this music video and song, was arrested in Nigeria for his political prophecies. I feel very confident saying that the fact that Aromi was arrested for political prophecies is probably a bonus for Danny Goki because Goki put his own career on the line for the new Apostolic Reformation. Affiliated Doug Mastriano by playing at his inaugural campaign.

He has also publicly supported Trump through his campaigns, impeachments, and calls against stolen elections. But putting all of this far off to the side, there was something particularly interesting about Danny Gokey, and it's something that I discovered when reading about him after this event, and that is that he has gone on the record to the press that he suffers from the mental illness of scrupulosity. Are any of you familiar with that?

[Dutch Sheets]

No.

[Jack Laroche]

So scrupulosity is a particular flavor of OCD where you become utterly obsessed with being religious. You feel deep seated, unassuageable guilt that you have done something that makes God hate you and you have to make up for it. It is one of the kind of stranger ways that this mental illness can manifest. And I know somebody who has it, and I've seen how much it can derail a life. So I have to wonder, like, how much is Danny Gokey's passionate religion and turn to this far right, the manifestation of him trying to assuage himself of this ment disorder. Because on the far right, you are surrounded by people constantly telling you you're right and cheering you on.

[Liv Agar]

Yeah. I didn't think about how much worse OCD could be if not viewed through, like, an atheist lens, but particularly like one where sin is involved in this particular way. Yeah.

[Jack Laroche]

With scrupulosity, it can turn into, like, you self flagellating yourself either you know, mentally or literally over saying a curse word. So. Such as crap. So I was starting to wonder, like, how much of all of this is people just giving into pathological impulses. And, you know, that's something that just doesn't really get talked about a ton when it comes to these kinds of displays of hyper religiosity.

[Liv Agar]

Yeah. It's a good question with the right in general is how much of it is neuroses because they're. They're a neurotic bunch and like, very publicly. So.

[Jack Laroche]

So, guys, what have we learned here today?

[Liv Agar]

I think God is dead. Probably that's the main reason.

[Jack Laroche]

Not trans, just dead.

[Travis View]

[Liv Agar]

Yeah, she died.

[Jack Laroche]

Oh, God, I'm so sorry. Did she get Covid? She got Covid, Yes.

[Liv Agar]

She wouldn't, like, stand cherry or whatever.

[Jack Laroche]

Yeah. You know, Trey and I have been thinking a lot about what we experienced, you know, over these two days, you know, what messages we heard, what the general themes of it all were. And I came away from it feeling like we had witnessed a birth, essentially, you know, something new. Through the victory lap came the new calls for action, the new feeling that something had just begun. And the seeds of a revolution were beginning to be sown among the newer generation. But that could just be wishful thinking on the part of ifa, you know, given the demographic of the leaders who we witnessed.

[Travis View]

Yeah, I learned that. Seems like the people associated with this organization are very self conscious of the fact that their movement, their way of viewing the world doesn't really have much of a future if they can't get young people on board. And their prayers and their expectations that their prophecy that there will be a youth movement involved with Christian Dominionism seems to be, I don't know, wishful thinking and feels like they're kind of. Of like. Yeah, their, their desperation, I have to say, is. Is kind of hopeful in, in my view, obviously this, this, there's lots of, there's lots of threats from the far right, but this particular flavor of it really does seem like a retiree pastime.

[Trey Grace]

And that's what I would agree with, is the desperation and the fear, I think are the two things I'm really walking away from the weekend thinking of. They realize that this movement is deeply unpopular. They really realize that this movement has a figurehead who doesn't seem to be long for this world. They don't have anything on the bench. They don't have anybody ready to step in and take him. They can say it's J.D. vance, but they barely talk about him throughout the whole weekend other than in passing, probably because he's now Catholic. They talked more about Mike Johnson than J.D. vance, but Mike Johnson has, I believe, a negative amount of Riz, as the kids say. Trump, for all of his faults, was at one point a dynamic speaker and leader. Mike Johnson is not that. And I don't think anybody is really going to rally at the cause of J.D. vance. They might have had Charlie Kirk, but as we all know, September 10, 9

[Jake Rockatansky]

10, 9 10, 9 10.

[Trey Grace]

What do they got left?

[Jack Laroche]

I will say that it was particularly interesting seeing what a huge reaction there was to the top talk of September 10th and the memory of Charlie. And I am still surprised that that hasn't been better utilized, that hasn't been more overall effective in rallying younger generation.

[Liv Agar]

Yeah, they really overplayed their hand to the point that people just found it kind of annoying. And then it became a thing like, well, you can make ironic memes out of this. What if we put Charlie Kirk's face on a certain rapper? Isn't that funny? Aren't you sick and tired of hearing this guy about this guy?

[Jake Rockatansky]

He's a laughing stock. They've turned him, he's been turned into a laughing stock. And that's what he got for being like murdered horribly. Like a situation in which most other people would have sympathy for you.

[Travis View]

Well, yeah, I mean, I think what turned him to a laughing stock was the immediate attempt to canonize him. There was immediate backlash that says absolutely not. They're going to be lots of people who is like, they're, they reacted to that attempt to, you know, not just have this kind of weird state and force canonization of them by being as maximally dispersant respectful as possible.

[Trey Grace]

And the other thing with his canonization, and this is what happened with Martin Luther King Jr. Is at least we can look back on him and say he had the letter from the Birmingham prison. At least he had the I have a Dream speech. When you look back at Charlie Kirk's written output and his speech output, he's got nothing you actually want people to hear if you're trying to say he's a good person.

[Jack Laroche]

Like, one of the biggest takeaways for me in terms of giving hope was how utterly terrified they are of mom Donnie and what's happening in New York. And Cindy Jacob Jacobs literally saying that we're only one election cycle away from annihilation. She was very, very afraid of what might happen at the midterms, what might happen, you know, at the actual ballot. So, you know, if we're not appropriately biblical in the boardroom, the bedroom and the ballot box, well, good things might happen.

[Jake Rockatansky]

Yeah, I, I hope they continue to lose.

[Liv Agar]

Yeah. It is going to be interesting to see the cultural reaction to the midterms. I think this is like the, the boom coded right wing kind of form of hysteria. You know, the Zoomers, the Gen X will have a different response because it does seem like it's not only like catastrophic for the Republicans, but like the Dem socialist kind of DSA model is starting to kind of pick up steam, particularly in cities that have like some sort of commie corridor now.

[Jake Rockatansky]

But it's a good point, right, because they're seeing Mandani actually do stuff and actually be a of part politician that isn't about identity politics really. I mean, he's just at the core, he's just kind of fixing small things that are making big impacts across the city. And it's hard for your average person to look at that and go like, oh, he kind of actually just trying to make shit seem like a little bit better for your average person. And that is a dangerous person to somebody who is like, who's an extreme Christian.

[Jack Laroche]

I'd give a lot to have somebody come around and actually fill in the potholes around me.

[Jake Rockatansky]

Yeah, same, same. I Dr. Drive the streets and I drive. I drive around Los Angeles. I'm like, where the weird. Like, you know, we have one of the highest. You know, it's one of the highest earning states. Like, they, you know, they tax the shit out of people here. And, like, the city is falling apart. It looks like ass. There's so many potholes. The streets are shit. Nothing's paved. It's like, what are we doing with all this money?

[Travis View]

I mean. Yeah, it is amazing that the far right hasn't figured out that you could basically get everyone on board with you if you're just a minimally functional administrator.

[Jake Rockatansky]

Yeah, that's. That is. That is a threat. Minimal functional rationality is a threat for people whose entire ideology is faith based.

[Trey Grace]

The other thing I'll point out is that even if catastrophe does strike the right in the midterms, they will be unable to believe it because it was prophesied that they will win. And this is something that I wish we had talked a little bit about last time as well. But these people are true literalists with everything they believe, they truly believe. Cindy Jacobs is a general leading troops in a spiritual war against demons that are ruling over princes and principalities here in America and the world. They believe in territorial demonic possession. They believe that the only way to fight that is with a battle of the spirit. And they think she is one of the people who is leading, leading that battle. And there was a lot more militant coded language that we heard over two days we didn't get a chance to get to. But this was a Marshall event. This was a troops returning home victory parade. It was a Super bowl victory parade. It was whatever you want to see it. They got a huge victory by getting Trump to declare a day of rededication on biblical principles on May 17th. And this was. Was just the victory lap.

[Liv Agar]

The kingdom of heaven is on earth and it is the United States. So don't worry. As long as it doesn't fall, we're fine.

Yeah, make heaven crowded, I guess.
