
The federal government unveiled its long-awaited proposal to make tech giants pay for Australian journalism. Under the draft laws, the News Bargaining Incentive would tax Meta, Google and TikTok 2.25% of their Australian revenue - a levy they can offset by striking deals with news publishers.
