We zip back to last week to discuss more Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds after the network test, as Kevin and Urtheart heap praise on one particular design choice. Ninten gives her opinions on characters she’d like to see join the races, leading to a discussion about how SEGA need to do better with black representation in their human characters. After that, Turbo joins Kevin and Ninten to discuss the most recent Nintendo Direct, including Metroid Prime 4 and the historically iffy popularity of the Metroid series. Some unexpected Bayonetta connections, Donkey Kong Bananza‘s DLC, Fire Emblem refusing to just leave everyone alone already and Kevin reminds everyone of that time Nintendo got terrified by boobs.

With the network test over, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is most definitely a fun experience to play. Is it an original experience? Heck no. Especially given how much work from its predecessors has been stitched into it.Kevin, joined by Ninten and Urtheart (plus cameos from Feniiku and Luna Arcana) they discuss their first impressions. Including mechanics, story and even character development. How SEGA have still not learnt some lessons and how Shadow the Hedgehog tried to kill the Babylon Rogues in the recent animation – but then again, according to Twitter Jet The Hawk might be a domestic terrorist…

It’s been a while but Radio Redux returns with a slightly unusual show. A show about… waiting. On the appropriately numbered #258, Kevin is waiting with Twitch streamer Blast The Bomb for a game of Dead By Daylight‘s limited time 2v8 mode. Except they’re stuck in a queue and no game actually seems to be coming. Now they’ve got nothing but dead air to fill across both their streams with two audiences that have never engaged before – and it’s the first time they’ve ever properly TALKED together. Um. Awkward. (Be warned, this is a bit more sweary than most RR shows – absolutely not due to an increasingly frustrated Blast.)

Everyone enjoyed it so much last time out, Kevin’s brought back last year’s WinterFest quiz for another go around. This time however, it’s not about Radio Redux‘s anniversary but more about the year just gone. Have the teams been paying attention throughout the year?Speaking of the teams, both are back for round two as Team RadioSEGA (Viper, Greyfore and Skyblaze) seek to defend their crown against Team LMC (Urtheart, ShadowFox and T.A. Black). It was a tight result last time out, but with some more general gaming knowledge sprinkled in will RadioSEGA be able to repeat their victory from 2023? And what tricks does Kevin have up his sleeve for both teams this time out? Full Tracklist:– DusK – Guild Wars 2 – One Wintersday Night (OCR)– SONIC The Hedgehog (2006) – White Acropolis – The Base– Ian Martyn – Direct Jangle (OCR)– WillRock – Super Mario RPG – Fight Against a Somewhat Delicious Cake (OCR)– Flik – The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past – Kakariko Prom (OCR)– DusK feat. Since everyone else is discussing it, Kevin reluctantly drags in both Urtheart and Ninten7 for a show discussing the Sonic The Hedgehog 3 movie trailer. As well as discussing new voice actor Keanu Reeves’ role and what the trailer seems to confirm – or at least suggest is being kept and changed from the games canon. For some reason that also means a chat about milk cartons, notorious criminal gorillas, the US Election, ‘Schrodinger’s Dog’ and a brand new Radio Redux segment using artificial intelligence. Full Tracklist:– Mesmerist – Shadow Walker VIP (I Am… vs The Story is Over)

After the Mortal Kombat franchise announces even more licenced characters for its upcoming DLC, Kevin proposes to Urtheart and ShadowFox some interesting potential additions to the line-up. That and they get haunted by adverts on Eurogamer. Full Tracklist: – S0LV0 (feat. Joshua Taipale & General Offensive) – Sonic Adventure 2 – Pyramid Cave (Modern RMX)– Tommy Tallarico – The Terminator – This Way– Robocop (Game Boy) – Title Theme (a.k.a The Ariston Theme)– Blade 2: The Game – Let’s Go– Demolition Man – Museum (Stage 2)– Taskmaster – Taller Than A Wolf

LMC trio Kevin, ShadowFox and Urtheart are back to discuss more things they got up to at the UK Games Expo – as well as singing owls, scavenger hunts and odd ways to die. All that and how Kevin gave someone from Konami a bit of an existential crisis.Plus: Skyblaze and Greyfore return to join Urtheart and conclude their Pokémon discussion. Full Tracklist: – Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues – Arcade– Offroad Thunder – Dirty Dog

Kevin is joined by Urtheart and ShadowFox for a new Radio Redux session to discuss all things gaming, specifically their visit some time back to the UK Games Expo – a local (to Kevin anyway) hobby games convention that also happens to be the largest in the UK. At which they played a new board game from Rebellion’s Unplugged division called Joyride, and they inadvertently found a new way to win.All that and discussions on virtual reality marketing, Ferrero Rocher, eating the board game Mouse Trap and putting your kids through university via Magic: The Gathering. The second half of the show continues the three-part discussion on Pokémon and specifically Scarlet and Violet. as Urtheart Skyblaze and Greyfore debate their place in an ever growing franchise canon. Full Tracklist: Robinson: The Journey – Reward

After things kept getting in the way during the last few recording sessions, Kevin sits down behind the mic to discuss all things Sonic x Shadow Generations – a game that absolutely did not need to happen but that apparently is. Not only will it’ll probably screw up everyone’s remake hopes one way or the other, there’s the little matter of silly design choices and weird misunderstanding of ‘The Ultimate Life Form’. Why, for example, do people seem to think he’d emblazon his stuff with the logo of the enemy that tried to kill everyone he knows? In the second half we begin a little mini-series for Radio Redux, as Urtheart is joined by Skyblaze and Greyfore to discuss Pokémon big, small and unfathomably silly, But just what is the best Pokémon, and why are they not immediately saying Ekans? Full Tracklist: Shadow The Hedgehog – Digital Circuit

It’s been eleven years since the last time Radio Redux and Saturday Night SEGA crossed over for Gavvie’s SEGAthon event – not that Kevin’s been counting of course. But he and Urtheart, who is currently helping Gavvie navigate the perils of the Dark Souls series, drop in for an hour of fun with stories and discussion. For example: Just what is going on with the Sonic Symphony “world tour”? Why did we never get Sonic 4 Episode 3? Who are GreenViper8’s parents? Getting old SEGA games ported, and why did Rebellion’s CEO (and Urtheart’s boss) have to spend his weekend hosing down a horse’s naughty bits. Full Tracklist: Sonic & The Secret Rings – No Way Through for Pirate Storm Miku Hatsune – Ievan Polkka (VSNS Remix) MADWORLD – Wordsmith – Death & Honor Audio Sprite – Quackshot – Transylvania Sonic Riders – Theme of SEGA Carnival
