after relative quiet through the first few months of 2026, news has broken about the Department of Justice's investigation of the nation's largest meat. Spurred by a Nov. 7 demand by President Trump. The investigation was quickly confirmed by then Attorney General Pam Bondi and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rawlins, but a new report from the Wall Street Journal is the first indication this year of the investigation's progress. The doj, according to the new report, is specifically investigating Tyson Foods, Cargill, JBS and National Beef for criminal anti competitive conduct, including how those process purchase cattle from ranchers. According to Brook Rollins, saying that we have been working with a lot of ranchers for a long time who have raised a tremendous amount of flags. Packer consolidation is something that the President believes and a lot of our administration believes and could be resulting in unfair pricing for a lot of our producers. So the Department of Justice is looking into that. Rollins went on to say, this is truly a national security question. Through the last two decades we've seen a lot of foreign companies come in and buy a lot of our American eg products and processing and systems. We want to make sure we are doing right by America, by our American citizens and by our American farmers and ranchers. Previously, the first Trump administration launched an investigation into meat processors in June of 2020. Be sure to tune in this weekend for the full program.
