10 meat and poultry companies have been added to the U.S. department of Agriculture's Product of the USA program. The program was rolled out earlier in 2026 with the goal of identifying and labeling products sourced from animals that were born with, raised, slaughtered and processed in the United States to support American producers and processors and the rural communities where they operate. The latest companies to join the program include Harris Ranch, One World Beef, Upper Iowa Beef, American Foods Group Agribe, FPL Food, Hadrick Farms, Fort Worth Meats, Holstone Farms and Harrison's Poultry. By expanding the Product of USA label participation among more meat and poultry companies, the Trump administration is executing its strategy to support independent producers in small and mid sized meat processors. Lawmakers in the U.S. house of Representatives recently introduced legislation aiming to break up dominant meatpacking monopolies. They contend raise costs for American consumers and box out local farmers and ranchers, and is the companion bill to Senator Chuck Schumer's Family Grocery and Farmer Relief Act. The lawmakers cite Cargill, JBS Tyson and National Beef collectively own 85% of the U.S. beef market as a means to fairly extract value and take home maximum profits at the expense of farmers and consumers. The Family Grocery and Farmer Relief act imposes structural reforms to restore competition to the industry and that is your ranch.
