We got an incredible World Heavyweight Championship main event tonight. We have Becky lynch on the show. We have Big E on the show. We got to talk about Rusev. We got to talk about Backlash on Saturday. Welcome to the WWE RAW recap brought to you by Fanatics. So we end the night with the World Heavyweight Championship on the line. When I woke up this morning, I did not think to myself and I would have, by the way, had I known that I was going to end the night with a World Heavyweight Championship match, I would have woken up thinking, oh yeah, don't forget that's your reason for waking up tonight. There's a World Heavyweight Championship match.
Sam Roberts
I was surprised what to Monday night Raw to find out that we are going to see Jay USO against Seth freakin Rollins in the main event. And it delivered well.
Ryan Satin
It's been so fun watching this whole alliance between Bron Breaker, Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman define themselves.
Sam Roberts
You love the spray tans, don't you?
Ryan Satin
I don't. I think it was natural, I think. I mean, listen, the weather is great in Omaha this time of year and I think, I think Bron Breaker and Paul Heyman spent some time by the pool. Paul Heyman looks very youthful, by the way. Nice tan, natural hair looking good. Jet black hair, natural, by the way. From what I've been told by Paul Heyman, I love seeing the this group define themselves, right? WrestleMania. We're left with all these questions. Then the Raw after Wrestlemania, Braun Breaker joins even more questions. But we start to formulate what's going on. Last week it was a whole mission to take out Sami Zayn in the beginning of sort of a definition of at least what Seth Rollins was doing.
Sam Roberts
We saw the manipulation from Seth.
Becky Lynch
Yes.
Ryan Satin
Tonight. And Paul Heyman, of course, always he can't help. It's the only way he knows. And tonight we kind of got more into maybe who they are, specifically Paul Heyman. Right. I think starting the show with Jay USO and I never thought I would ask this question, but where the hell was Logan Paul? Where was Logan Paul? The night starts with Jay USO calling out Logan Paul and somehow and Paul Heyman has this power. Paul Heyman coming out and interrupting it made everybody forget that this was about Jey USO and Logan Paul. A minute ago, you And I were.
Sam Roberts
Watching the show together. As soon as I heard the Ladies and gentlemen.
Ryan Satin
Ladies and gentlemen, I looked at you. Gas.
Sam Roberts
Oh, my gosh, what is going on?
Ryan Satin
And I started wondering, like, is this a. Is this a plan to take people out one at a time? Like, last week it was Mission Sami Zayn. This week it's Mission Jay uso. But I thought there was a lot of. A lot of meat on the bone of what was going on between Jey USO and Paul Heyman, where Jay USO right away saying, flat out, you got a lot of balls stepping in here after what you did to my cousin, after what you did to my family. And this was the first time that we got Paul Heyman explaining his side of the story. Like, this is the first that we even come near Paul Heyman justifying in any way, shape, or form why he turned on CM Punk and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, which we were waiting for.
Sam Roberts
Because we knew that a favor was a choice. Right. That's been a theme. This favor keeps coming up. It came up tonight, once again on Monday Night Raw. And we knew Paul Heyman had a choice to make. He made The Choice at WrestleMania, and the Choice was Seth Rollins. And we were left wondering why. Tonight we found out a little bit of why. Well, according to Paul Heyman.
Ryan Satin
Yeah, we found out, I think, a lot. A bit from his perspective. It just depends on how you want to look at the perspective. And I think that that's also part of this group is like, nothing that Seth has said has been incorrect.
Sam Roberts
No.
Ryan Satin
But it's been skewed to a certain perspective. The idea anytime anybody in any spot in the world says, look, I want what's best for everybody, I just don't know who's gonna do it, so I better do it myself. You go, huh? Okay. There's something. There's something more than meets the eye here.
Sam Roberts
You're the one.
Ryan Satin
Yeah. You're. And who. Oh, you figured that out yourself. Oh, you did that on your own. Fix it by force. Gotcha. Okay, okay. And in your image, that's what we'll do.
Sam Roberts
This is going to benefit you, right?
Ryan Satin
Right, right. No, no, no, no.
Sam Roberts
It'll benefit everybody, but mostly you.
Ryan Satin
I am part of everybody. Yeah.
Sam Roberts
Yeah.
Ryan Satin
You always got to watch people like this. I thought that Jay. And it's really interesting because to me, Jay kind of established this version of himself on the road to WrestleMania, where people thought they could kind of run over him. I think Jay started listening to the Internet. I think Jay started listening to other people that he was getting in the ring with and really having very real doubts about his abilities. And I think a switch changed on the way to WrestleMania, at WrestleMania and now. And I think this is so valuable. He's maintained it. He's held onto it post WrestleMania to the point that he had it still tonight, where Paul Heyman is explaining that firstly, Jay has no right to criticize Paul for turning on Roman Reigns, especially when Jay did the same thing. Where do you stand on that?
Sam Roberts
He's calling a spade a spade.
Ryan Satin
Okay, but what do you think of the idea that, like, yeah, but that's my blood. If I turn on a. If there's. If there's war in the family.
Sam Roberts
Family business, right? Family's complicated.
Ryan Satin
Exactly. You got a cousin.
Sam Roberts
Of course you're.
Ryan Satin
You can fight with your cousin, right?
Sam Roberts
Yes.
Ryan Satin
Now, what if I go like, yeah, I hate your cousin. You'd be like, yo, what?
Sam Roberts
That's my cousin.
Ryan Satin
Right? Exactly.
Sam Roberts
It's. It's like I can say bad things about my sibling.
Ryan Satin
Oh, yeah.
Sam Roberts
Relative. But when you say bad things about my family right now, we have a problem.
Ryan Satin
Even if I go, you're right, Megan. What? Excuse me.
Sam Roberts
You can't talk about her.
Ryan Satin
Exactly. Exactly. That was the vibe that I got from Paul Heyman, equating what he's gone through with what Jay's gone through. And Jay, I mean, talk about everything counts. Jay coming out and going, I told him from the beginning not to trust you. And you go, you start spinning it back. You jump in the Wayback Machine to the beginning of the bloodline, and you're like, yeah. Jay was saying, don't trust him. Jay was that kind of voice of reason, the angel on the shoulder the entire time. But Heyman explained both from the Punk and Roman perspective. He says that with Punk and this, we kind of knew he hadn't.
Sam Roberts
Best friend in the world.
Ryan Satin
Best friend in the world. Brother in arms. We knew this because he had said it. Like, if you listen to what he was saying in the ring, look what you made me do. He was kind of pushing this forward, but he hadn't set it into a microphone yet. That CM Punk, he felt put him in this position where it was a no win situation and that he felt Punk purposefully was sabotaging his relationship with Roman Reigns. And I guess to Paul Heyman, that's where it's like, well, I guess you're not my best friend after all, because you're sabotaging my relationship with Roman Reigns. Then with Roman Reigns, he goes all the way back. He's not talking about what Roman did on the road to WrestleMania. No, he goes all the way back to the. The phone out of service. The where are you? Roman Reigns the moment. If you go back, if you go back to that smackdown in Madison Square Garden that Paul Heyman brought up on Raw, and you look at the moment that the new bloodline powerbombed Paul Heyman through that table, there is an instant where Paul Heyman makes direct contact with the camera lens and all over his face it is, how could you let them do this to me? And then slam and how can you.
Sam Roberts
Let them do this to me after all that I've done for you? Paul Heyman credit himself tonight with creating the bloodline. He said that he's the reason the bloodline exists. I mean, he straight up said that he went and found a stray big dog and turned him into a tribal chief.
Ryan Satin
And he knows. He knows that Roman doesn't like to have the big dog brought up. He knows that. By the way. By the way, I just got word. We got an answer to one of our questions already. Exclusive footage of a shocking moment that just took place after Raw went off the air. Logan Paul was in Omaha.
Sam Roberts
What?
Ryan Satin
And he was in the audience and he had a hoodie on and he punched Jay in the face. While Jay was going around doing his championship duty, high fiving everybody, Logan Paul was there and he punched him in the face. You know, Logan Paul did say last week, I think it was on this show, book me, I'm open for business. When we tried to call him on this idea that he says he's full time, but he's not actually full time, he said, bro, my calendar's open. Call me, I'm open for business. And now he's showing up on Monday Night Raw. He's not even on television. He's in Omaha, Nebraska. Not even on television.
Sam Roberts
Can't even call him on his bluff.
Ryan Satin
Right, Right. Isn't that wild? Everybody. I love stuff like this. Everybody thinks we got it all figured out, including myself. I literally was like, right. Logan Paul versus Jay USO for the world title at Backlash. I legit thought it was a match. And then I looked at the backlash card. I was like, oh, I'm just so this smart wrestling guy. I know everything that's going on. They never announced that match.
Sam Roberts
No. There was no graphic, right?
Ryan Satin
There's no graphic. And that's the rule.
Becky Lynch
Who always.
Sam Roberts
You went back on your own rule.
Ryan Satin
I gotta follow my own rule. The rules are there for a reason. There was never a graphic so then Jay's calling Logan out. Logan's nowhere to be found. We got this whole thing with Seth Rollins. We'll talk about that in a moment. But yes, at the end of the night, Logan, Paul was indeed. And Jay said everything counts. Jay said, logan, I know you're back there, so come on out. So Jay knew he was back there the whole time. And then he puts the hoodie on. I mean, I don't know why Adam Pierce doesn't ban.
Sam Roberts
See, this is smart of Jay, right? He knows as the World Heavyweight Champion, he's got a big smart.
Ryan Satin
He got knocked out.
Sam Roberts
He's got a big target on his back. He knew that Logan was there, but then he took his eye off the ball because he was distracted by Seth Rollins.
Ryan Satin
He was smart for like, one second.
Sam Roberts
Well, he knows that he was there.
Ryan Satin
He knew that he was there. I don't think he was thinking about that when he was slapping everybody's high fives.
Sam Roberts
Would you forget if you just had a world Heavyweight title match like that?
Ryan Satin
If I was the World Heavyweight Champion, I probably wouldn't be making matches for myself day of.
Sam Roberts
Yeah, he thought with this.
Ryan Satin
His emotions, you know, he felt with the. Because it was one word, four letters.
Sam Roberts
That's my favorite part.
Ryan Satin
Of course it is. So he did, though, going back to that thing that you were just saying, Heyman took full credit for the bloodline.
Sam Roberts
Stray Big Dog.
Ryan Satin
Stray Big Dog took full credit. He said, we won the WWE Championship and he lost it. And it's like, interesting what you're doing with your pronouns there, wise man.
Sam Roberts
And he. Interesting what you're doing, Rhodes, because of Seth Rollins.
Ryan Satin
We won. He lost. Huh. Interesting way to look at things.
Sam Roberts
Well, you know who does Heyman always.
Ryan Satin
Side with the winner.
Sam Roberts
That's right.
Ryan Satin
That's it. That's it. And he did say. And he did give you. Right. He did give Seth Rollins the credit for being the distraction that lost Roman Reigns that title.
Sam Roberts
And then he said, what did Roman Reigns do after he lost the title? He was a sad dog and went home.
Ryan Satin
He went home and he abandoned Paul Heyman and he had Paul Heyman have to deal with Solo and the Tongans, and we all saw it all happening. And it is. I mean, so much of what Roman Reigns was going through in the last year was chickens coming home to roost for everything that he did with the bloodline. Now he's still paying for what he did after the bloodline. With people like Paul Heyman, I mean, it's all like every action has a reaction and Just because, you know, a lot of fans are ready to start cheering Roman Reigns doesn't mean that that takes away the stuff that he did. So he says to Jay, and this was really interesting to me because this goes back to what Biggie has talked about on the show, where there's a lot more to being a world champion than just having the title, than just winning these matches, right? He says to Jade that that title is about power, right? And influence and. And. And. And control. And that's real life. That's a real thing. That's not a storyline. That's like, people get that title historically and have held onto it to be the top guy to protect their spot, to make sure you know, all of it. Because when you're the champion, not only are you on top, not only are you winning, you're making more money, you're selling more merch. Like, that's the spot to be in, and you have influence over everything. And he said, jay, you're not. You're not ready for that power. You're not cut out for that. You. You don't know how to operate in that world of. Of power.
Sam Roberts
Sure, you have the fans behind you. Sure, you have an awesome entrance. Sure, you're selling a lot of merch, but power and control, no, that's a different deal. Rollins.
Ryan Satin
And listen, that's true. I mean, that's the whole. I mean, how many times did Jay get taken advantage of in the bloodline? Over and over and over again. You know, it took him forever to finally stand out on his own, and still he said so many setbacks, standing out on his own. Seth Rollins is a guy who's kind of been able to. To go with the flow, to ride with the wave, and go from being an architect to a messiah to being somebody that's kind of an architect and a messiah right now.
Sam Roberts
And always a visionary.
Ryan Satin
And always a visionary. So Paul says, so Seth is calling you out. He won the main event of WrestleMania, beat Roman Reigns and CM Punk. He wants a world title shot anytime. And Jay says tonight, which is so refreshing because I feel like so many times. Or stupid for me. Refreshing.
Sam Roberts
Okay.
Ryan Satin
As a fan for what I get to watch on television.
Sam Roberts
Yes.
Ryan Satin
Refreshing, because I feel like we keep seeing shows where it's like. As I get from Jay's perspective, you're right. But we keep seeing shows where it's like, yeah, you know, have this match and everybody goes, yeah, in three weeks. Oh, to be able to say, like, no, no, we'll do it. Right? We'll do it. Tonight, it's like, oh, my God, this is great. If you're in Nebraska, it's great. If you're just watching Raw, you're like, we get the World Heavyweight Championship match, then we get this match, right? And it's time officially to end the narrative. All this yapping from the haters. Jey USO can't wrestle. Jey USO can't wrestle. Once he. But the bell has to ring. He sells shirts. He's got a great entrance. He's got a fun catchphrase. Can't wrestle. He goes to WrestleMania, has a great match with Gunther, shows up on Raw tonight. The main event was fire. It was so good. Omaha was on their feet. We were on our feet in my living room. It was on believable this entire time.
Sam Roberts
I'm looking at you. Jake can't lose, but Seth can't lose. Jake can't lose. Oh.
Becky Lynch
Oh.
Sam Roberts
Kick out.
Becky Lynch
Oh.
Ryan Satin
And they're telling this story through movement. It was awesome.
Sam Roberts
I thought we were gonna wake your kids up.
Ryan Satin
I did, too. I did, too. And if they did come down, I'd say, don't worry, kids. Wake up. Get the whole family around. There's a. There's an insane main event of Monday Night Raw happening right now. So you're right. We're watching this, and it was a something's got to give scenario because we didn't even really have time to process it because we didn't know this match was going to happen. Right. We're just starting to get our feet wet in terms of what this group even is. And now Seth Rollins is getting, like. You would think that that would be an eventuality. Eventually, Seth will build towards the World Heavyweight Championship. And they're like, well, we're gonna have the championship match tonight. And you're like, what? Huh?
Sam Roberts
I'm like, how fast are we moving?
Ryan Satin
Yeah. Yes. And so we get in. It's an awesome match. Braun Breaker at ringside the whole time. Paul Heyman at ringside the whole time. Can't tell those two guys apart with that tan, can I? Can't tell who's who.
Sam Roberts
I don't know. You might have to get your eyes checked.
Ryan Satin
Okay.
Sam Roberts
All right. I can certainly tell who's who.
Ryan Satin
You figured it out?
Sam Roberts
Yeah.
Ryan Satin
Oh, okay. Okay. All right.
Sam Roberts
Got that one down.
Ryan Satin
All right, so be it. And then you get. But you get Bron Breaker. He's a weapon out there. Interference. Spears going left and right. And just when you think all hope is lost, Sami Zayn's music hits. And you're like, I thought Sami Zayn was dunsky for a while. I thought Sami Zayn got laid out something fierce.
Sam Roberts
I thought he had broken ribs.
Ryan Satin
That's right. Sami Zayn jumps out of the crowd wearing Logan Paul's hoodie that he's going to wear later and takes out Braun Breaker. He's got his ribs all wrapped up. Everything's great. Sami Zayn is the hero. And then eventually, boom. Bron Breaker spears Sami Zayn again through the rib bandages.
Sam Roberts
After the week he had last week.
Ryan Satin
It'S the last thing in the world he needs. But what. I mean, what do you think is going to happen?
Sam Roberts
Bron Breaker's there.
Ryan Satin
Yeah. Then, yeah. Then Sami Zayn is out. We think that this is all wrapped up for Jay and, and, and, and referees are getting distracted, and Bron Breaker is getting involved, and Seth Rollins is ready for it. And then CM Punk's music played. Now, CM Punk got taken out two weeks ago. He said on Instagram Live, like, this week, I've had one week off. I need more. He said on his Instagram Live, I need more time off. I'm not coming back. And then, boom, here he is. CM Punk, Jay, uso, Sami Zayn standing tall after CM Punk gets in that ring, and Seth Rollins loses the match by disqualification. And I'll tell you, this group that was assembled once the numbers were off, all of a sudden, I don't know, it would look like, you know, Sami Zayn, Jay uso, and CM Punk combined, feels like a force worthy of taking down this new Paul Heyman group.
Sam Roberts
Without question. And they stood tall for a reason tonight. I do love CM Punk returning. And returning with the chair in his hand.
Ryan Satin
Yeah, it's great.
Sam Roberts
Symbolic of what happened at WrestleMania. We just heard Paul Heyman's, you know, his. His whole interpretation of why he had to turn on his best friend in the world, and here he is and.
Ryan Satin
Throwing it right in the face of Bron Breaker, too. That was brutal.
Sam Roberts
Yes.
Ryan Satin
It was great, though. Now I wonder, we're looking at three on two. I don't think Paul Heyman's going to put on a pair of trunks.
Sam Roberts
I mean, this alliance is going to have to.
Ryan Satin
It could. I mean, and that's something people have been wildly speculating upon for some time now. Is the alliance going to grow? And I kind of think. I kind of think it's got to.
Sam Roberts
Well, after what we saw last night, I. I agree with you. They have. They have no other option.
Ryan Satin
What if, in the ultimate move of villainy, what's this group about?
Sam Roberts
The Future power. Control. The future of the industry.
Ryan Satin
Future of the industry. Who's the one person that wrestling fans don't want to believe is the future of the industry? Who's the one person that got involved after the show?
Sam Roberts
Logan Paul.
Ryan Satin
Can you imagine if Logan Paul stands with this group now? I'm not. Just something that occurred to me when I see him jumping out of the crowd. He wasn't standing with them at all. He wasn't part of the segment. He just punches Jey uso in the face. And obviously he's got his own issues with Jey uso. But I'm just saying, I do think.
Sam Roberts
You'Re on to something with the future of the industry.
Ryan Satin
All of a sudden, I'm looking at this going like, oh, God. Because that's the future.
Sam Roberts
It is, whether we like it or not.
Ryan Satin
And I think if you ask Paul Heyman, he would tell you it was. And he's done interviews where he's talked about how great Logan Paul is, and.
Sam Roberts
He said he's available.
Ryan Satin
Logan Paul did?
Sam Roberts
Yes.
Ryan Satin
I don't even wanna. I mean. Oh, it gave me chills just now. Not good chills, bad chills. Not these kind of chills.
Sam Roberts
I'm just thinking about that big ego, though.
Ryan Satin
Big ego.
Sam Roberts
He doesn't really seem like a guy who could work with.
Ryan Satin
That's true. And Seth Rollins needs to be the leader. Yeah, that's true.
Sam Roberts
Might not work, but I do think if anybody could really help Logan fit in in this industry, it's Seth.
Ryan Satin
Well, listen, talk about this industry, talk about leaders. We got to get to our first guest in Omaha, Nebraska. She had a big night. I don't think it. It. It worked out too well for her. Our first guest is. Is backstage coming to us right now, guys. Today's episode is brought to you by BetterHelp. Now, look, statistics, they bother me when I read them sometimes. Mental health awareness is growing. We all know this. But there was a. A statistic that was. That was put out there that 26% of Americans who participated in a recent survey say they have avoided seeking mental health support due to fear of judgment. That's a terrible thing. Of course, we shouldn't be judging each other. But the world that we live in is the world that we live in. When people hesitate to get help, it doesn't just affect them. It impacts families, workplaces, communities. That's where better help comes in. Betterhelp takes all of that away. All the. The judgment that you may feel coming in from the outside is gone. And to me, that's key. When you're doing something that is as important as your mental health, you need to do it on your terms. Unfortunately, looking a bit worse for wares, Becky lynch, the man.
Becky Lynch
Oh, I, I, I got into a fight. You didn't get into a fight. What's your excuse?
Ryan Satin
Okay, well, that's, you don't have to start. Like, I mean, Becky, like, we talked to you a couple of weeks ago on the show, right after winning the tag team championship at WrestleMania. You were completely different human being, and now you have an ice pack on your head. I mean, what is that?
Becky Lynch
Okay, I haven't changed. No, I haven't changed. What, what has changed about me? I put, I told you how good she was. I told you she was great. And what does she do? She goes and loses. She made a fool out of me. She made a fool out of me. So I beat her up. But she acts like she's never gotten beat up before. This is, this is wrestling. That's what we do, you know? And now she's coming after saying that she's better than me. When I literally wrote the roadmap for her to follow, I wrote a book on it. New York Times bestselling book. Meghan's read it. I don't know about you. Maybe you'd learn a thing or two.
Sam Roberts
Yeah, same.
Becky Lynch
I gave her the roadmap. And then she comes at me, she says, I'm better than you. I'm, I'm better than you. The arrogance. The arrogance. As if she wouldn't even have a dream if it wasn't for me. Like, you wouldn't know what wrestling is. She thinks I invented wrestling.
Ryan Satin
I mean, but don't you think that at a point, like, you can inspire people, but at a point, their success becomes a result of their own actions?
Becky Lynch
No, I don't think so.
Sam Roberts
Becky. I'm sorry that Sam Kind of started this interview off on the wrong foot. I would like to thank you for taking out the trash.
Becky Lynch
I'm sorry, but he was. He was saying, hmm. You got any other thoughts about that?
Ryan Satin
No, I. No. No, I didn't want to.
Becky Lynch
You. You. You think that you'd be in the wwe, the biggest professional wrestling business of all time? You think she'd do that if I didn't do what I did?
Ryan Satin
You.
Becky Lynch
You think that? No, I think I get to claim any bit of success that she has. She's just trying to be me, and now she's trying to be a better version than me. But she can't be a better version than me because I'm the greatest to ever do it. Sports Illustrated says it. Yeah, not only does Sports Illustrated say it, but another list with the 20 greatest wrestlers of all time also puts me on that list. Not just like 20 best. It was all wrestlers, men and women. They put me on that list because number like three or something of all time, like men and women.
Ryan Satin
No, I mean, it's great placement.
Becky Lynch
I will say was. I was underrated on that one.
Ryan Satin
Yeah, no, it's great placement. My only point was that at a point, even if you inspire somebody to get involved, even if you inspire somebody to get here, that.
Becky Lynch
I want to talk to Meghan now. Megan, what are you fair?
Sam Roberts
Well, I think there's no debating it. Lyra Valkyria wouldn't be where she is without you. But she did get the better of you two weeks in a row. Did you ever think she had it in her?
Becky Lynch
No, no, no. I got the better of her last week. No, no.
Sam Roberts
Do you remember you did come out at the end?
Becky Lynch
Yes, we have the grandstand at the end. Thought she was great.
Sam Roberts
And then you came back.
Becky Lynch
Greatest thing that ever lived. Look at me. Ah, birds fly. Will watch me soar like an eagle.
Ryan Satin
You know, get them wings out.
Becky Lynch
Cuckoo could chew. And then I went, bam. In her back.
Sam Roberts
But we have seen a different cheap shots. Me tonight, we have seen a different side of Lyra. Did you. Did you think she had this in her, though?
Becky Lynch
No, I'm. I'm. I'm aghast. I met the quiet, nice, polite girl. I said, look, listen me, you like birds. I like birds. Let me take you under my wing.
Ryan Satin
That's a good. That's good. Weren't you swinging at her when she kicked you? You said, how is that? I don't know if that's a cheap shot if you're swinging at her.
Becky Lynch
I was going to give her a Hug.
Ryan Satin
I was not the context of the conversation you were having.
Becky Lynch
No, it's gonna give her a hook.
Ryan Satin
What were you doing? She brought up. I mean, I don't know if on holidays was. Is that's how she phrased your time off from wwe. I mean, we were.
Becky Lynch
I wasn't on holidays. I was doing important things. I was filming movies and TV shows.
Ryan Satin
Wow.
Becky Lynch
I'm looking after my. Because I'm also a great mother.
Ryan Satin
I heard about that. There's a.
Becky Lynch
You heard about that?
Ryan Satin
I don't know for a fact.
Becky Lynch
Evidence. Megan knows about this. Megan's a mother. She knows about this. You don't know anything about this.
Sam Roberts
You don't know anything about being a mother. It's Mother's Day. Did you wish her happy Mother's Day? Did you thank Becky for taking out the trash and recycling?
Ryan Satin
Well, I don't know if she's. Because I'm not going to refer to superstars as trash or recycling. I don't think that's my place. I will. I mean, I hope. I hope you have a happy Mother's Day. Although Mother's Day's on Sunday. Saturday, you have your intercontinental championship match with Lyra Valkyria. Will that affect your Mother's Day if you don't walk home and see your family with that championship.
Becky Lynch
What do you mean if I don't?
Ryan Satin
Should you not win?
Becky Lynch
Why would I not win?
Ryan Satin
I mean, Lyra kicked you in the face tonight. She laid you out.
Becky Lynch
Cheap show.
Ryan Satin
Oh, there's a. What are your thoughts on this? Because we're talking about, you know, how much credit that you're taking for the success of not only yourself, which, by the way, you're entitled to take all the credit for your success. It's an incredible journey that you've been on, but you're also taking a lot of credit for the women around you. You're talking about anybody else? You're not taking credit for anybody else.
Becky Lynch
I'm just taking credit for Liar. Oh, didn't take credit for anybody else. I don't want to claim anybody else.
Ryan Satin
No matter wow, but you have it like in the same position.
Becky Lynch
What? What are you talking about? What are you talking about? They had a great year. Freaking women's world title revolved around some bloke with a dodgy looking mustache. What are you talking about? They had a great year. What are you talking about? What are you talking about? Oh, everybody had the best year of their life because I wasn't here yet. Because they couldn't compare me. You can't Compare yourself to the best, you know? Yeah, just like, mediocre. And then like, oh, I'm the best at mediocrity is what they were saying. And then I come back and I'm like, lads, here's the best. And they go, oh, no, now I can't be the best anymore. And I'm gonna complain about it and I'm gonna go, oh, wow. Why won't you help me? Because this is a competitive sport, you idiots. What are you talking about? Me help you? It's on my job to help you. It's my job to beat you. I'm gonna beat you, right? Why is this surprising? Like, oh, Becky's figuring out professional wrestling. You're stupid. And she's going around here like a 20, 25 more skilled version of Coco. Beware. You know, Sam, you'll get that reference.
Ryan Satin
The Birdman. Yeah, of course. You know, I definitely got that. I appreciated it too. But when we talk about you. Yeah, I know.
Becky Lynch
It's a great reference, your moment of appreciation.
Sam Roberts
It's about time, Sam.
Ryan Satin
I appreciate that. And I mean, you bringing up references to superstars from the past based on a lot of what you said tonight. There's a meme. I don't know if you've seen it online, where there are those okay. Ones on social important things to do.
Sam Roberts
You're not gonna bring this up?
Ryan Satin
They would. They've called you Becky Hogan before based on some of the, you know, behaviors that they perceive that you may have. I want to know if your feelings are.
Becky Lynch
I'm the bad guy, right? I'm the bad guy. All I've done is be lovely to. To some people.
Ryan Satin
Yeah.
Becky Lynch
Like, a few people. Like, Liar. Do you remember. Do you remember when she. She didn't beat me, but she won in nxt. She won the. The NXT women's title.
Ryan Satin
Yeah.
Becky Lynch
And. And so she beats me. Quick roll up. Very quick roll up. Like it wasn't. It wasn't a definitive win. She beat me with a very quick roll up. Do you know what I did afterwards? No. Because I'm such a great person. Raise their hand.
Ryan Satin
That's true. That's true.
Becky Lynch
Raise their hand. Because I'm. I'm that kind of a person. Well, does she do tonight? She kicks me in the face. Got a big lump here.
Ryan Satin
Yeah. I mean, when you talk.
Becky Lynch
Wonderful face on my wonderful face on my wonderful face. By the way, that's already been scarred. Look, my nose doesn't, like, sit perfectly straight anymore. My. Like, my shoulder is popping out. I've got scars on my arms. All of this because of what I've given to this industry. Like, I wear the scars of. Of what I've done on. On my body. I wear them. I wear them with pride because of all I've given back. And these people go around.
Ryan Satin
They.
Becky Lynch
They compare me to the scummy person on earth after. After everything I've done, after everything that I've done for them.
Ryan Satin
No. I could see where that would bother me.
Becky Lynch
And I'm the bad. I'm the bad guy. I'm supposed to just sit here and take it. I'm supposed to go, oh, oh, I'm sorry. Even though I didn't do anything wrong. I broke through glass ceilings. I changed the game.
Sam Roberts
Lyra brought that up today. Breaking glass ceilings. She said that you left the glass on the ground, though. I mean, you have a solid relationship with a lot of the women in the locker room. Is that how you felt, that you left the glass on the ground?
Ryan Satin
By the way, that's a very quiet locker room. I mean, I don't know how many. It doesn't seem like you're sharing space.
Becky Lynch
I have my system too. Okay.
Sam Roberts
Is that how you felt, though, that there was. There was glass left on the ground? Is there any validity to what Lyra said?
Becky Lynch
You smash a ceiling, you leave some glass. You know, a resourceful person might take that glass, build the sculpture of me.
Ryan Satin
I think you're gonna go there, but that is. I guess that's a thing you could do. How did the. At what point do you go, oh, I'm gonna. I'm gonna come back to wwe, and Bailey's gonna be a victim of mine. I've decided Bailey is. You said. You said garbage was the word. Like, at what point did you realize Bailey is garbage? Like, I didn't realize that there was this level of resentment.
Becky Lynch
2013.
Ryan Satin
Really?
Becky Lynch
Wow.
Sam Roberts
That long?
Becky Lynch
Why. Why is anybody acting like me and Bailey are best friends? I've not liked that woman. Maybe, like, a month here and there, but then it's either I'm gonna turn on her or. Or she's gonna turn on me, because we do not jail. We do not jail. She is not. She's not the example for the industry. No, she. She's one of those people where.
Ryan Satin
Where.
Becky Lynch
This is. What's. What's happened. This is why I needed to take her out, because this is what Lyra is saying. Like, oh, you didn't help me. Of course I didn't help you. Of course it's every woman, but I did help you. I. I Did help you. No, I helped Lyra, but I didn't help everybody else, because of course I'm not going to help everybody else, because it's every woman for themselves. Do we not understand this? If I'm helping everybody, then everybody's, like, gonna. I'm supposed to win. Like, my job is to win. You want me to take food off my child's plate, is what you're saying? No, because I will get paid more the better that I am. I'm not gonna. Why am I gonna help anybody else? Wait, this isn't. This isn't. This isn't show friends. This is show business. But, like, Bailey is so confused about this. She's probably paying $100 a month to her best friend to text her.
Sam Roberts
So 2013, since. Since you and Bailey. But was it Bailey helping Lyra? That was the final nail in the coffin that made you say I. I need to. To take matters into my own hands?
Ryan Satin
Yes.
Becky Lynch
Yes. And also, it's Wrestlemania. Like, let's be honest. Who cared about that match? Did you care? Are you gonna say that you cared?
Ryan Satin
I did really care.
Becky Lynch
Like, that crowd. I was listening. They didn't really care until I came out. And then they cared. And then they were like, oh, yay. The man is back. That was one lady.
Ryan Satin
That was Megan me. That was Megan me.
Becky Lynch
That was also Megan. She said, my life is complete. The man has returned.
Ryan Satin
Yeah. I think people were a little taken aback that the. The. Then the. The switch. The turn, as it were, happened immediately after, like, I mean, one day into. The man is back. Now all of a sudden, the turn happens immediately. And you. You have this different attitude going forward. Why. Why such. The quick lost, huh?
Becky Lynch
She lost. I came back for. To win.
Ryan Satin
Right. I came back.
Becky Lynch
When I came back to help her win, I did do that. Helped her. And then she immediately loses. So I know now it's too late. She's. She's been compromised to a permanent end by Bailey.
Ryan Satin
Wow.
Sam Roberts
I told you this last week. She has high standards. She didn't come back to lose.
Ryan Satin
Yeah.
Sam Roberts
And you're struggling to understand this.
Becky Lynch
What, am I gonna leave my child to lose?
Ryan Satin
No, you're right. I don't think that that's what I mean.
Becky Lynch
Would you leave your child to lose?
Sam Roberts
Absolutely not.
Ryan Satin
Right? I mean, I have kids, too. Also, I think compromise to a permanent end means something different than what you said.
Becky Lynch
I mean, like, her goodness, this compromise.
Ryan Satin
I see. Okay. All right. That makes a lot more sense. Look, I mean, Becky, the fact of the matter is, regardless of. Of how People take what you're saying today, regardless of how people feel, you are on that list of the greatest of all time. You've done things nobody. Not only have you done things nobody's ever done, you've done things nobody thought one would ever do. And you do deserve credit for that. The question is, what does that look like when put in the context of today's women's division?
Becky Lynch
I could continue to do what I'm doing, be great. Okay, let's just beat all these younger people, these newer people.
Ryan Satin
Well, we'll see if it begins.
Becky Lynch
Not that hard, right? It's not that hard, Right. But for some reason it seems to be hard. And it seems to be like, harder on the women's division. Like, you look at the men's, like, who you got that's hot and young over there? No, you got a bunch of old lads and nobody's saying nothing. Nobody's saying, like, oh, move over, move over, CM Punk, move over, Seth Wallen. Nobody's saying that. They'll say it to me. So who's the biker?
Ryan Satin
No, I mean, I got it.
Becky Lynch
Supposed to move over.
Ryan Satin
Look, I am a believer.
Becky Lynch
I'm going to move over is to make way for more titles. So I'm going to move over so I have more space to put my.
Sam Roberts
Titles in, more history to make.
Ryan Satin
I mean, it makes sense. And look, I don't think anybody should ever move out. You move over when somebody moves you over and we'll see.
Becky Lynch
Nobody's moving me over.
Ryan Satin
That's the point. That's the point. Well, you have Lyra Valkyria, Backlash, Becky Lynch. I can't tell you how much we appreciate you making time for us here on a very busy night. Joining us once again for Raw Recap. Thank you so much. And we do, we look forward to seeing this match for a myriad of reasons, at backlash on Saturday.
Sam Roberts
And happy Mother's Day.
Becky Lynch
Thank you. You too.
Ryan Satin
Thank you, Becky.
Sam Roberts
Not you.
Ryan Satin

I felt like I was maybe fighting a, fighting, fighting a force greater than myself.
Sam Roberts
Well, Becky has, it's all about perspective, Sam. Right. And Becky's perspective on this is not.
Ryan Satin
Incorrect and it does somehow match your perspective.
Sam Roberts
Well, you know, I'm a, I'm a supporter of the man. You said that I'm the biggest Becky lynch fan that you've ever been around, which is high praise. I wore my pants.
Ryan Satin
Is that why you went pants shopping with Becky Lynch?
Sam Roberts
Yes. We're wearing the same, same pants. Yeah. But I do have to say I have enjoyed this side of Lyra. I didn't think Lyra had this in her.
Ryan Satin
Okay.
Sam Roberts
And I was testing it out last week on the show. You brought it up. Get them wangs out.
Ryan Satin
That's what we're saying.
Sam Roberts
And as soon as her music hit I.
Ryan Satin
Getting them wangs.
Sam Roberts
Yeah, I was getting them wangs out. I'm really looking forward to this match between the two of them because I think we've seen a fire in Lyra.
Ryan Satin
Fanatics at WWE shop. Not done a get them wangs out shirt yet.
Sam Roberts
No, but they need to.
Ryan Satin
That's weird. That's strange to me. Yeah. And it's just Lyra, you know. Yeah. But I do think, to your point, that going microphone for microphone with Becky lynch is a dangerous game to play. I mean, you just saw her just there. There is no spot where she does not feel comfortable speaking publicly and does not own the room. To get out in an arena and go promo for promo with Becky lynch is. It's dangerous ground. And I think I'm with you in the sense that I go, like, I'm a big Lyra fan. And I go, I don't know. But two weeks in a row, she's come out and, like, nailed it, in my opinion.
Sam Roberts
She has.
Ryan Satin
Yeah.
Sam Roberts
And when we talked to Becky, she just said she's like, no. When I knew Lyra, she was shy and quiet.
Ryan Satin
Even when she was like. I think my favorite part, because even in the delivery of this, it can get hokey. And it really didn't. It worked. When she goes, you the first smackdown women's champion and the first woman to main event wrestlemania and win and the first women's intercontinental champion and. Oh, wait. And holds it up, I'm like, hell, yeah, Lyra.
Sam Roberts
That's her facial expression when she held it up with dominance.
Ryan Satin
Yeah. So you're looking forward to this one.
Sam Roberts
Of course.
Ryan Satin
Right?
Sam Roberts
I'm getting them wangs out.
Ryan Satin
You are, but. But Becky's your favorite wrestler.
Sam Roberts
Becky is. I. I am team the man. But I am looking forward to watching Lyra, this new version of Lyra, step up into this moment.
Ryan Satin
Speaking of birds, I'm watching you like a hawk because I'm going to see. Because I think there are going to be moments in this match where Lyra is going to pick it up and you're going to get excited. You know what I mean?
Big E
Oh, yeah.
Sam Roberts
It's been kind of a role.
Ryan Satin
And I'll report on it here, by the way.
Sam Roberts
Yeah, it's been.
Ryan Satin
I'll sell you out.
Sam Roberts
Roller coaster. Because I did say. I'm on the record of saying. Yeah, that of anybody on the roster the day after WrestleMania, I wanted to be Lyra Valkyrie.
Ryan Satin
Because you want to be friends with Becky Lynch.
Sam Roberts
That's the only reason you said that's it.
Ryan Satin
That's the only thing.
Sam Roberts
Living out her dream and the whole.
Ryan Satin
Thing, but the dream mainly being friends with Becky Lynch. That was your perspective.
Sam Roberts
I like the, you know, I like the fierceness of both of them. They're both fiery Irish women.
Ryan Satin
That's right.
Sam Roberts
And I like that.
Ryan Satin
Yes, yes. Well, what?
Sam Roberts
Fire.
Ryan Satin
A lot of fire. We also got a lot of fire in. I think what some people thought was going to be the main event, I kind of did. Roxanne Perez. EO Sky. Great match. IO sneaks one in. And I mean, this is IO like, it doesn't always have to be this big grand ceremonial. Here's the ending of the match. If I can get your shoulders on the mat. 1, 2, 3. Who's the winner? I'm the winner. I'm the winner. Once again, that's all it has to be sometimes as long. Whatever we need to do to get to a result of Eo pointing at herself with both fingers rapidly. That's what we do. That's how we retain champions.
Sam Roberts
Can I just say that? IYo, Roxanne, the women's division has been on a terror last week. We got to see. We got to see them on nxt. We saw the tag team match, which was electric. If you didn't see it, What? IO and Rhea Ripley and Julia got in the mix. Once again. Julia made her presence felt. I love seeing the domination. I love Iyo's rise. Eo, someone a lot of people doubted before WrestleMania.
Ryan Satin
Well, I think they didn't doubt Iyo. They doubted that she would be put in the position that she's in, but she belongs there 100%. I think everybody knew Iyo was the best. I think people doubted whether she would be put in that position. And once she was there, just because, you know, there's so many different elements here whether she would really be the one. But every week, every week you watch people in Omaha were pointing at their scars like. Like, it really is like, okay, we're going to give you the ball. Let's see what you got. And she's going all the way with it.
Sam Roberts
And I was surprised to see Roxanne Perez, someone who's had a bit of an attitude, shake Eo's hand after the match.
Ryan Satin
Did they get you?
Sam Roberts
They did.
Ryan Satin
I thought so. They got me, too. I'm going to be 100 honest with you. They got me, too. I was like, yeah, don't do it, Eo. And when they shook hands and they. And they left, I was like, look at Roxanne Perez.
Sam Roberts
She must just be so thankful for the opportunity. It's been a big couple of months from her, you know, run her up at the Royal Rumble, and now she's having main Roster matches.
Ryan Satin
You can't be mad at everybody. Maybe you stay mad at Ria. Maybe you're mad at this one. Maybe E.O. you're not mad at. That wasn't meant to be. Because here comes Julia out of the blue, just like her hair, and takes out Iyo Sky.
Sam Roberts
Roxanne Perez always has tricks up her sleeve.
Ryan Satin
She really does have tricks up her sleeves. She got a lot of plans.
Sam Roberts
The jackets that Roxanne Perez wears, absolute fire fanatics. Get us some Roxanne Perez jackets.
Ryan Satin
You like all the villainous women. You like Becky Lynch. You like Roxanne Perez. You like a little attitude. Yeah, that's what it is. Yeah, that's what it is.
Sam Roberts
This, you know, maternal rage.
Ryan Satin
Maybe that. Yeah, you know what? You got Mama bear syndrome in you now.
Sam Roberts
That's it.
Ryan Satin
You want to know that if push came to shove and somebody gotcha, that you'd be able to fire right back at him.
Sam Roberts
That's it.
Ryan Satin
Yeah, well, you know, I mean, we were celebrating Mother's Day with Becky Lynch. Kept mentioning it over and over again. And that's not the only place that is celebrating Mother's Day. And being that Mama Bear. You want to be a mama bear? You celebrate Mother's Day in WWE style. As a matter of fact, for the mom who runs the ring, I run. Becky lynch probably runs the ring, but you run. I do run towards the ring for.
Sam Roberts
The mom that runs.
Ryan Satin
Right, right, right. That's it. And never misses a match. WWE Shop has everything she needs to celebrate in true Superstar style. You can upgrade your mom's look with everything that's going on right now at WWE Shop. Fanatics has you hooked up. They knew Mother's Day is around the corner. We got to make sure that we got these moms hooked up. Because, look, I go like this. I always, I always go out to people. I go, you know who loves wwe? They go, who? I go, your mom. See? See? And you got time right now. Go to WWE Shop, get your mom some gear for Mother's Day.
Sam Roberts
A nice mommy T shirt.
Ryan Satin
Whatever it is. Whatever it is. I mean, you know what they got up there? What do they have all the John Cena stuff ready for St. Louis for smackdown and for backlash. And I mean, this stuff, it's, it's, I, I, I thought that his Fort Worth, Dallas merch was my favorite. It's like a, it's a, it's a whole gray look for St. Louis. It looks awesome. They have the shirt, they have the, you know, the whole package. The hat, the wristbands the towel, huh?
Sam Roberts
Nice growl fit.
Ryan Satin
That's right. That's 100. Right? They even have the custom championship. And I've seen these championships, they disappear. And these belt collectors go crazy for them. Get it while you can. Get all of the John Cena last time in St. Louis merch right now. All the Mother's Day stuff right now at WWE Shop. Thanks to fanatics, you won't regret doing it. But I will tell you, when we speak of the women's division, part of me is weary because I realized only this week that the Judgment Day locker room did not appear how I wanted it to appear. And that's because I forgot that Liv is out in Hollywood.
Sam Roberts
Yes. She's a big star now.
Ryan Satin
And Dirty Dom is sitting there hungry. Nobody brought him. There was not one platter of chicken tenders in there.
Sam Roberts
And he is a gorgeous man. To just leave him.
Ryan Satin
Oh, are you thinking that Liv might have trouble? Dom's very loyal.
Becky Lynch
Is he?
Ryan Satin
It's very loyal.
Sam Roberts
We saw what he did to Rio Ripley. You call that loyal?
Ryan Satin
I think she did that to him. I don't remember every detail.
Sam Roberts
I remember it pretty clear.
Ryan Satin
You do?
Sam Roberts
Yeah. There was a hotel key. There was, you know, some.
Ryan Satin
I thought Finn Balor had that hotel. Well, whatever. I mean, that got very complicated, and as relationships do sometimes. Dominic's a very loyal guy. People love him recently.
Sam Roberts
People do love him.
Ryan Satin
You were at WrestleMania with me. People love him. But look, I'm sitting there. Not only is he, you know, having to deal with Finn Balor on his own, which, by the way, Finn Balor repping a Dirty Dom T shirt, which he probably got a WWE shop with from fanatics. I mean, all seems well in that world. Seems well. But I realized that Dom now has to defend the intercontinental title against Penta at Backlash. Now, no, Live.
Sam Roberts
It's going to be a problem for him.
Ryan Satin
I think it's going to be a problem. Well, I want to. I want to break down everything going on at Backlash, and I think we need. We. Let's get some help in here. Let's get some. Yes, Biggie is here with us to help us continue to break down not only everything that we saw on Monday Night Raw but everything that we're looking forward to seeing at Backlash. And E, I mean you, I would love to hear your take on what you saw between Pat McAfee and Gunther. I mean it felt like, it felt like very real tension to me and a very real, very interesting way to look at that sort of celebrity inclusion. Because as much as Pat is a celebrity outside of the wrestling world, I think that the wrestling world has kind of done the rare thing where they, we have accepted him as one of our own. So you have this interesting thing where there is that shared history with him and Gunther. Except I don't know if he. If he loves this like Gunther loves this.
Big E
Yeah, you know, it was interesting to hear Pat talk about, like, growing up, loving this and wanting to do this, you know?
Ryan Satin
You know, he.
Big E
Obviously his claim to fame was being in the NFL, but obviously this is something that is a huge passion of his as well. But, you know, it's so interesting because I feel like in many ways they're on opposite ends of the spectrum. Obviously, Gunther sees this more as a sport and I think Pat leans into more of the entertainment. But ultimately they both love this. They both have a passion for this. And that was clear. Obviously, you know, Pat comes out and cuts a hell of a promo, ingratiates himself with the people of Omaha, does a fantastic job with that. But I thought he put some real stakes on the match at Backlash as well and talked about what it meant for him and also what this means for Gunther. I think Gunther is at a huge crossroads, and that's why I think we're going to see such an intense version of Gunther. I think we're going to see the killer that we're used to and even on a higher level, because Gunther cannot afford to lose this match. If Gunther loses this match. Think of where we saw Gunther. The height of this guy who holds titles for 700 days, who is going to be a world champion many times over. And this is not to take anything away from Pat, but Pat has his hands in so many different pots right now. Look, I don't know how the guy gets any sleep. I know he has a wife, he has a kid. He is jet setting everywhere. We're talking about college football, all his business endeavors. He has his own show that he just had a month or so ago in Pittsburgh. I think he's spread thin and sitting at the announce desk. He does a wonderful job with that. But that's very different from what Gunther does on a daily basis, training in the gym. He dedicates himself to this. And I'm not saying that Gunther doesn't have those other obligations as well. Obviously, we know about his wife and his kid. And obviously, you know, I assume he's a dutiful husband and family man as well. But Gunther has trained himself for these moments.
Ryan Satin
He.
Big E
This is his whole life's work. And I think that he's going to make a statement on Saturday. I think this is not merely about winning a match. This is not merely about showing Pat who's better or who's worse. This is about making a statement for the direction of his career if he doesn't have that moment where he puts Pat down, the mystique of Gunther really takes a big hit. Tari, you know, we got the chance of him tapping out, and that's got to be embarrassing for a guy who holds himself with such esteem to be reminded of his loss. And again, it's not just losing, but sometimes it's the way you lose. And to submit to someone who is not known as a submission expert and then to lose, as incredible as an athlete as Pat is, to lose to a commentator would be devastating for Gunther.
Ryan Satin
Yeah, I mean, I would argue irrecoverable for Gunther. I mean, it's like, how do you continue on? Like now you're just kind of a member of the roster. And I don't. I think Gunther, if he's not Gunther, I don't know who that guy is. If he's not the guy that. That wins almost every match, if he's not the guy who's a champion, 80% of the time he's on the roster, then I don't know who he is or. Or what place he would have. I mean, I think he goes. Honestly, I think it goes further even than what you said about having to win. Because you're right, ultimately, Pat's role in the WWE full time, even though he's an athlete, even though he's a big guy, he is a commentator, and Gunther is the guy that was just holding the World Heavyweight Championship. I think Gunther's gotta hurt Pat. I mean, I think Gunther, especially because Pat brings up Jay and he brings up Sammy, those are the two big blemishes on the biggest stage that Gunther has. So not only does he bring up the two losses, he said he was soft now.
Big E
Yeah.
Ryan Satin
You know what I mean? And he said. He said that he was, without saying the word, complacent. He basically said that Gunther had become complacent because he's now been here. He's not hungry for this anymore, and I kind of feel like if, if. And then Gunther responded by saying, don't worry, I'm going to be focused on you and only you. Like, you have no idea the amount of focus that I'm going to put on you. Which, by the way, dude, was the most terrifying thing I've maybe ever heard. Gunther, I've heard him say, I think Gunther's gotta hurt him. I think Gunther has to put Pat McAfee down in a way that Pat realizes that his career is talking into a microphone and only talking into a microphone.
Sam Roberts
Well, you Just said it. It's sometimes the way you lose or the way you win in Gunter's case. And he needs to make a statement.
Ryan Satin
Dominant.
Big E
Absolutely. Yeah. And I think he has the same mindset too. I think the way he's carried himself, I think he feels the same way. He's not just here to win a wrestling match, he's here to make a statement that he belongs at the very top. And I, you know, win, lose or draw, I don't really know where Gunther goes from here. I'm not used to a Gunther who is not in the world title picture consistently. I don't, I don't know what to. I mean, even when he held the Intercontinental Championship, it felt like a guy who inevitably was going to be a world champion. And we look at the raw roster and it is stacked with guys who deserve to be in that world title picture. So I don't know where he goes from this, but I do know that if he doesn't, and I agree with you both absolutely, he has to dominate, he has to hurt Pat. He has to send a message not only to the fans that he is not soft, but to the locker room that he is not just here to be a mid carder who is just there to have matches, he's there to set a legacy. And I know Gunther, for him, it's all about that. It's all about having the biggest names on his resume that he has beaten to prove that he is one of the greatest to ever do it. And I think with that mindset, I think he's going to come out to try to leave Pat. You know, it might, we might see a stretcher on Saturday. We really might. If it might get ugly.
Ryan Satin
He wants, I think he wants it to affect his ESPN gig. I think that he want. And what better, what better for a wrestler to have the world going? Why does Pat look like that on espn and the world knows it's because there's this big Austrian that beat him within an inch of his life in St. Louis over the weekend. I mean, yeah, tell me this, what do you want to see as somebody who watches as going back to being a fan? Because when you watch, no matter what our role is, we're all fans when we're watching. And if the match is good, it turns us into fans. What do you want to see happen?
Big E
I. Look, I know Pat comes in, cuts an incredible promo, he's so charismatic, but I want to see a gritty Pat. I want to see a Pat who is there to, you know, life and limb to throw the whole kitchen sink at Gunther. I want to see a match. I don't think we're going to get something akin to the Hell in a Cell with Drew and Punk, but I want to see something gritty, man. If we see blood spurting, I'm okay with that. But I think that's what the match calls for. Look, to put your hands on. And again, as much as I talk of Gunther, obviously he crossed the line putting his hands on Michael Cole. We all talk for a living. Even me as someone who is used to. And I spent what, 13, 14 years in the ring in WWE. That was a part of my career. But now that's not my job. My job is now to talk about what I see. And none of us should have hands put on us whatsoever. So I think what Pat is doing is very, very noble. No one should put their hands on Michael Cole. But Gunther's got to make a statement. I want to see something vicious. I don't want to see. Honestly, I would love a no DQ match.
Ryan Satin
I would love to see.
Big E
Maybe we take the ropes down. I want to see a fight. I want to see a bloody, intense, gritty fight. That's what I think this calls for, and that's what I think Gunther needs to get his momentum back. And I think, look, Pat is such a great athlete, and we got to see that in nxt, him doing stuff with, with Adam Cole jumping off the rope, stuff that I, I, you look at the man and, you know, he played in the NFL, but you don't quite understand the level of athlete he is. So I, I want to see Pat, you know, throughout his athleticism as well. But bring your hard hat, man. Bring your hard hat. Get, you know, say goodbye, kiss, kiss the wife and the kid and, and be ready to brawl.
Ryan Satin
What do you want to see, Megan? What do you want to see?
Sam Roberts
What do I want, want? I want to see Pat McAfee make his entrance with Michael Cole. Because I was touched, Like, I was honestly touched when he was talking about how much Michael Cole means to him. 28 years, only missing three days. And that's why Pat McAfee is in this situation with Gunter, right? Because he's fighting on behalf of Michael Cole in a way, right?
Ryan Satin
Yeah. But if Cole does that, if he's the representative, if he's in the manager role, he's got to somehow squeeze his way back into that orange singlet.
Sam Roberts
That is what I want to see. I want to see Gunther domination.
Ryan Satin
He's saying, no Gunther domination.
Sam Roberts
But Michael Cole in the in the, in the.
Ryan Satin
Squeeze back into that Syracuse Orange singlet.
Sam Roberts
Yes, we need him in the singlet. And I would like him to make his entrance with Pat McAfee.
Big E
Nicole's been working hard in the gym. God bless him. Anytime I see him in the gym, I am, I am impressed. But we don't wait. Please retire the singlet. I hope someone burned that word singlet. I was on the roster at the time. Who's not pretty? And you know what? Cole likes to on the panel, he likes to jide me and Wade because Wade and I have never won a match at WrestleMania. I think we're oh and 10 between the two of us. And somehow Cole and Pat are undefeated at WrestleMania. So let's, let's. We don't need to inflate his ego anymore. Look, Cole is the goat behind the desk. Let's keep him there. Yeah, no more singlets, please.
Ryan Satin
Is there ever been, go back before, before you were, you were in this role as a broadcaster when you were a wrestler. Was there ever a time that somebody got a little too fresh behind a microphone, somebody got a little too comfortable? Whether it's like a commentator or even when you're not doing, you know, 150 interviews a day, whatever you're doing, was there ever a time where you're like, man, this guy is very lucky that I'm a professional because there is nothing that I'd like to do more than put my hands on this human being right now.
Big E
Oh, absolutely, man. That definitely happens. I'm not going to name names, but I can think of instances, especially around, around 2014 when the new day was starting. Look, we took a lot of flack from people and I think obviously, you know, fans know a bit of the hardships of what it takes to, to go through nxt, to go through the Indies. Some of us, I, I didn't have to go through the Indies, but so many of us, you know, grind on the Indies, then go to developmental and then get caught up to the main roster. I don't think people truly understand the amount of work and effort. All the things that you have to deal with on a regular basis. You know, sometimes having to get up at 4am to do media and then wrestle a three segment match the same day, this job is a grind. And when you, when you have someone who is, has either never been in the ring or was in the ring, last time they were in the ring was 15, 20 years ago and their stomach is sticking out over their belly and they don't, because they don't put the work in that we do not hear the body shame, but when, you know, like, the physical toll, the mental toll that you put yourself through and someone is going to be disrespectful. And look, I think we. And this is something I always try to be cognizant of now is I think the audience wants us. There has to be a level of trust in that we're going to deliver honest takes. You know, obviously, we. We work for wwe. We're not here to disparage others, but there needs to be a level of honesty with the audience, but also a level of professionalism and respect. And I have so much respect for any of the talent that we see on Raw who put their bodies to, like, this is. Obviously, I've been through, you know, some of the worst of it with the neck, but there are real risks in what we do. And regardless of whether I think people are ready for big spots or I think, you know, they're struggling a little bit, I always think that it's our job to. To have respect for the athletes that we see on TV from time to time. Even we don't like them to have respect because what. What we put our bodies and minds through really is a lot more than people realize.
Ryan Satin
Well, we got backlash, of course, on Saturday. This is where we're going to see Gunther and Pat McAfee. I know you're going to be on that Countdown show. Megan and I will be here on a backlash recap. Yep. We were talking before you got here about Becky and Lyra. We had Becky on the show shot out of a cannon. I mean, this. She. She had a lot to say. How do you see Becky and Lyra going first?
Big E
I. I'm so glad we got to this because I really want to talk about this. I have to applaud Lyra for the steps she's taken in just a few short weeks. Man, she has the intensity she brings, not just physically like she's. She's always been ever since she's come on the main roster. I've been so impressed with her in the ring. I think she's so talented. Very, very talented. But seeing the fire she brought on the mic, seeing her not back down to Becky, I have to applaud her because I have seen real growth in just a few short weeks with Lyra. But, man, I as much Becky is a close friend of mine, has been for a long time. I. I think Lyra holds on to her title.
Ryan Satin
I do.
Big E
I love this version of Lyra. She's hungry. And it is. I'm not saying Becky is not complacent by any means. She's. She's. I think you could. There's a very strong argument. Sports Illustrated said it. A lot of people would argue she is the greatest women's wrestler in WWE history, and she has a very valid claim to that. But when you look at someone like Lyra, I remember what it was like to be in nxt to watch your heroes or the people doing Hollywood movies, you know, main eventing WrestleMania and, you know, like, I want to be there, and it is so hard. Getting there is hard, but staying there and staying hungry, getting to the top and always having that fire is difficult. And I think Lyra realizes the opportunity she has in front of her to make a name for herself. She beats Becky lynch to retain her title, and she has an opportunity to be mentioned amongst the greats one day, and I think she has that fire. And I am loath to ever bet against Becky, but I'm a big fan of this version of Lyra. Just in a few weeks, I. I think Becky's brought the best out of her, and I think we're going to see that at Backlash.
Sam Roberts
Well, Sam and I are trying this new thing. We'll see if you can. You can give it a little steam on the Countdown show when Lyra does her entrance and it goes bump, bump, bump.
Becky Lynch
Woo.
Sam Roberts
Sam and I yell, get them wangs out.
Ryan Satin
Get them wangs out.
Sam Roberts
Get them wangs.
Ryan Satin
Get them wangs out.
Sam Roberts
So just try it. I don't know, maybe bring. I think it's good on the Countdown Show. See if. See if it.
Ryan Satin
I just. I just added that, you know, like.
Big E
Okay.
Ryan Satin
Flying anywhere. You know what I mean?
Big E
I don't. I don't know if it's quite catchy enough. I love the direction.
Ryan Satin
Okay.
Big E
I love what you're thinking.
Sam Roberts
We're working on it.
Big E
Yeah.
Ryan Satin
Yeah. Workshopping.
Big E
Okay. Exactly.
Ryan Satin
Perfect. Perfect.
Sam Roberts
We're with you on Lyra. We're big fans. Yeah.
Ryan Satin
That's all. That's what it's all about. Ultimately, you know, how do. What do you think is going to happen when Penta realizes that Dominic Mysterio is just too great a force to overcome?
Big E
I mean, don't you disrespect. Pent up. Don't you do it. Don't you do it. I am so excited. I love that this match got added to the show in St. Louis at Backlash. I don't know where. I don't know how to call this one. This feels like a coin flip.
Ryan Satin
Domino.
Big E
Yes. You stop. Your love for Dom is a little. It's a little unsettling, if I'm honest. But I will say, man, the reception on the post show, just of all the things that stick out in my mind at WrestleMania, when Dominic Mysterio came on the set at the post show, it was like Michael Jackson reincarnated. It was like, you know, he could have been moonwalking. It was. It. It was incredible. I am telling you, the reception, the. Those people love him. And. And, man, Dom has so much momentum right now, it's hard to bet against him. But I am. I am such a fan of Penta and what Penta is doing. I. Again, it's hard to say where this one goes. We're going to get. I think we're going to get a great match. Dom has improved so much. I can't stop talking about his improvement from when I first saw him a few years ago in the Thunderdome era. And seeing his growth has really been incredible. I don't know which way this one goes. Gun to my head, I think Dom retains. You know, I don't like it, though. You know, but, you know, underhanded means, though.
Sam Roberts
But there's no Morgan.
Big E
There is no Liv Morgan. But there is still a judgment day. He's. He's got a whole. He's got Carlito. He's got Mr. Big Head. He's got a lot of people who could run out, and it's. It's a lot.
Ryan Satin
He could win in the middle of the Sahara with nobody around him. Okay, this is Dominic Mysterio that we're talking. I mean, you think Penta's got a shot?
Sam Roberts
Yeah, I do.
Big E
Yeah.
Ryan Satin
I didn't even. You didn't believe yourself when you said.
Sam Roberts
Do you see that entrance?
Ryan Satin
The entrance is fantastic. It's unbelievable. And by the way, Penta against anybody else, I'm probably going for Penta.
Sam Roberts
Penta overcame the judgment day and Chad Gable.
Ryan Satin
I'm over.
Big E
I'm.
Ryan Satin
Look, I'm a big Penta fan. Dominic Mysterio we're talking about. Okay? This is generational, Sam. So what.
Big E
What do you think Dom's ceiling is then? Are you saying future world champion? Easily?
Ryan Satin
Absolutely. Future world champion, yeah. You heard him. You heard him. And people want to believe. Oh, we're just joking around. We're just goofing. He is only getting better and better and better. He wins the Intercontinental Championship. The stadium goes crazy for him. This guy is one of those guys that you first think, I don't know, but he's Raised kids. So we'll give him the benefit of the doubt because we love Ray. Then it's like, okay, we'll keep watching because it's kind of funny, you know, the prison thing. Then it's like, oh, I don't know. Some of these NXT matches are kind of good, but I'm kind of getting it. I mean, you know, dude, you cannot, and this is for real, you can't maintain momentum like he's maintained it by mistake. It doesn't happen.
Big E
I agree. Yeah. I don't know if I agree with, with the world title or bust, but. But what I do agree with is the growth is, is undeniable and he is legitimately very good in the ring. But let's not discount what Pen has done already. In a few short months on the main roster, Penta is definitely going to hold a title. Many titles I think, in wwe. So I'm excited for this match. I think it'll be a lot of fun.
Ryan Satin
I would agree.
Sam Roberts
Same. I'll give you credit. I mean, you've been on this Dom as world champion since his present days.
Ryan Satin
Yeah, you were the first since the jump. As soon as he got out of the clink. As soon as he got out. As soon as he got out. But another, another bandwagon that I've been on for a long time is somebody who's defending the United States Championship against three people. He's defending against La Knight, he's defending against Drew McIntyre. He's defending against Damian Priest, Jacob F2. I mean, for me, I feel like as big of a match as this is, as, as, as like insane as. As that lineup of challengers is. This is like the big coming out party. Welcome world. I mean, I don't even think we need to debate the future world champion potential of Jacob Fatu.
Sam Roberts
I just want to bet the over on moonsaults.
Ryan Satin
Yeah, that is what I want to.
Sam Roberts
Do for this match because I need to see as many moonsaults as are possibly allowed from Jacob Fatu.
Big E
Yeah, I'm with you. I'm such a massive Jacob fan. But he's also in that match with so many former world champions with guys who I think will be world champion again. This, this match is really, really stacked. But man, I, I'm with you. I could sing the praises of Jacob Fatu forever and seeing the way that people have taken to him has been incredible. But to see a man of his size move, the way he does his confidence on the microphone, he's an original. He's a one of one that dude is different, man. He is built different and, and I don't know what his ceiling is.
Ryan Satin
I.
Big E
World champions, that, that's. That's coming. I. I promise you, he's World Championship is coming. But again, I, I think the same when I think of Drew, I think a guy like Drew is so ready to be back in that world title picture. Yeah, I, I watched what he's done the last year or so. The match with Damien was so physical at WrestleMania, man, I. I love this match so much. I think we're gonna get a barn burner of a match, but it is. It is very, very difficult for me to bet against Jacob Fatu. I think this is his year. I think when we look at the end of the year, I think Jacob Fatu will be our. At least our male breakout star of the year. Not that he's already broken out, but I think he's poised to have maybe the best year on the roster. He. I. This man is incredible.
Ryan Satin
I love that take. And then talk about like a year ago even. There's no way John Cena versus Randy Orton. The idea John Cena versus Randy Orton. Good guy Randy Orton, bad guy John Cena. Just the idea that we're getting John Cena versus Randy Orton. I mean, I feel like for this one, for me, it's almost like just sit back and process the fact that we're in this world where backlash in 2025 is headlined by John Cena and Randy Orton.
Big E
Man, I'm just hit with a wave of nostalgia because it reminds me of when I first came up. I got signed in 2009, and I feel like those. My early few years in fcw, it was seeing Randy and John go at it time and time again, have such a classic rivalry. And it's funny, I saw, I think, a tweet where Jon talked about Dave Bautista and Randy Orton switching bodies because. Because Dave slimmed down these days, still looks great, very svelte, but my goodness, Randy is massive on tv. You see this man in person. He is gar. It is incredible. And he's still lean, he's still massive, but he's going to be home in St. Louis. And this might be the very last time that we see Randy Orton at a Ple in St. Louis. He's in the main event against John Cena. And look, a lot of people would argue, is Cena slowing down? Is he physically not what he was many years ago? And you know, Randy's dealt with the. The back surgery, but, man, this version of Randy, I think, is still moving really well. He still looks like he has a lot in the tank. I it is hard to fathom John Cena losing his world title anytime soon but if anyone can do it it's Randy Orton. And I'm, you know, 23, 24 year old me is feeling very nostalgic seeing those two in a ring once again. So that is going to be a treat, a nice send off. Maybe the last time we ever see those two in a ring again.
Ryan Satin
Yeah, I think so. And look, before we let you go man, there was more than one big E in your orbit. I saw it on social media. Biggie for engagement. Congratulations to Biggie and the future Mrs. E. This is very exciting. And you guys, lucky lady. Lucky lady.
Big E
I'm the lucky one. I'm the lucky one. No, she's amazing. I as someone you know there is hope for all of you who never think you'll find your person. I was that person for a very, very long time. I didn't think love was on the docket for me but it is the best thing when you fall in love with your best friend and get to share life with someone. It is very, very beautiful. So I'm very thankful for this journey. So thank you both for those lovely words.
Ryan Satin
Amazing Biggie again, congratulations and thank you for, for blessing us with your presence once more here on Raw Recap.
Big E
I appreciate you guys.
Ryan Satin
Of course, anytime. Megan, you and I will be back here on Saturday and then wangs out. Getting them wangs out after backlash. After backlash. It's going to be very, very exciting.
Sam Roberts
I'm a little worried because E just summed it up perfectly. Cena Orton main event. But Cena's ruining wrestling and I don't want to get too excited to have my heart broken.
Ryan Satin
No, that's a good call. That's probably the best way you can go in is with trepidation. Yes, I think that's what you have to realize. This new John Cena, it's hustle, loyalty, respect and for us, a massive amount of trepidation. We'll see what he's got for us. We'll be back here. Make sure you're subscribed across all audio platforms. Make sure you're watching us on the WWE YouTube channel, leaving comments hitting like telling all your friends we'll see after backlash. Have a good one, everybody.

[02:17]

[03:57]
An unexpected twist occurs when Logan Paul appears in the audience wearing a hoodie and violently attacks Jey Uso, punching him in the face. Ryan Satin expresses his shock:
"Logan Paul was indeed [in the audience] and he punched him in the face."
[09:42]
Sam Roberts points out Jey Uso's vulnerability due to being distracted by Seth Rollins, allowing Logan's attack to go unnoticed initially:
"He knew that he was there, but then he took his eye off the ball because he was distracted by Seth Rollins."
[11:12]
CM Punk makes a surprise return during the main event, throwing a chair and aligning himself with Jey Uso and Sami Zayn against Paul Heyman's faction. Ryan Satin highlights the significance:
"This group that was assembled once the numbers were off, all of a sudden, ... Sami Zayn, Jay Uso, and CM Punk combined, feels like a force worthy of taking down this new Paul Heyman group."

She continues to belittle Lyra, emphasizing her own accomplishments and dismissing Lyra’s abilities:
"She thinks I invented wrestling. She's just trying to be me, and now she's trying to be a better version than me. But she can't be a better version than me because I'm the greatest to ever do it."
[24:39]
Ryan Satin challenges Becky’s perspective, suggesting that inspiration does not necessitate taking undue credit for others' successes:
"Don't you think that at a point, like, you can inspire people, but at a point, their success becomes a result of their own actions?"
[25:07]
Becky vehemently disagrees, asserting her pivotal role in Lyra’s career:
"She loses two weeks in a row... I guaranteed her success, but she made a fool out of me."
[26:14]

[65:02]
Becky Lynch:
"I'm the greatest to ever do it."
[24:39]
Sam Roberts:
"Paul Heyman credit himself tonight with creating the bloodline."
[08:59]
Ryan Satin:
"Logan Paul versus Jay Uso for the world title at Backlash. I legit thought it was a match."
