Foreign. Welcome to the Night of Champions preview show here on wwe. Now. Megan Morant. Can you believe it? We are on the precipice of the night dedicated to Champions. On a night where we will not only have 1, 2, 3 title matches but a cage match grudge match in the finals of the King and the Queen of the Ring. A huge six match show. Are you pumped? Is there anything you're most excited for?

[Co-host]

The culmination of the King and Queen of the Ring tournament. Man, when this bracket came out we all put together our wildest craziest ideas. And for me, myself, I overcomplicated the thing. Overcomplicated to see Iyo sky and Liv Morgan in the finals for the women's. That makes sense. We're talking about the women's World champion and Liv Morgan. And we're talking about one of the best wrestlers in the planet, Iyo Sky. And on the men's side, of course, Obafemi in the finals and former World Heavyweight champion, Jay uso.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah. Do you think Jay USO is a surprise or do you think he resents the fact that some people think that he's a surprise?

[Co-host]

I think the latter. He definitely resents the fact.

[Megan Morant]

Yes, yes, yes. And that's why he runs it back now for all the haters.

[Co-host]

Run it back.

[Megan Morant]

Right. The weaponized run it back as we talked about on recap, that Jey USO is, is, is such a big part of now. Well, let's talk about these matches then. Okay. So of course the first hour is going to be live on ESPN proper, the worldwide leader. That's right. And the first hour will have the King and queen of the ring finals on it. Let's talk about the king of the ring finals. I mean, let's talk about Obafemi. The fact that I, I think that you're right when you say overcomplicated that, that people think of a million reasons why it wouldn't happen or. And I, I think that that's the fun of a single elimination tournament is that you end up with matches that you wouldn't otherwise have.

[Co-host]

We love sets. Of course, you know when March Madness comes around, you love when a 16 seed goes on to be a Cinderella story.

[Megan Morant]

Yes. And this is not that different from that in the sense that like somebody goes on and gets a championship match at SummerSlam. And it could be because just the way tournaments work, somebody that you would think would never get that shot at SummerSlam. But sometimes the number one seed wins the Blue Bloods. Yeah. Sometimes the people that it's like, well, obviously there's a reason why it's. Well, obviously. And I think Obafemi being in the final, while I understand that not everybody's bracket was perfect, it probably shouldn't surprise anybody.

[Co-host]

No, not at all. I mean, Obafemi personifies that type of dominance, right?

[Megan Morant]

Yeah.

[Co-host]

I mean everything he's done since he's stepped foot on the main roster, and especially in Obafemi, that's coming off a loss.

[Megan Morant]

He hates losses to Brock Lesnar.

[Co-host]

I think Obafemi made a statement the first round, that fatal four way match when he just completely decimated everyone.

[Megan Morant]

Solo Penta.

[Co-host]

Ricky Saints.

[Megan Morant]

Ricky Saints.

I mean he made Solo look like a small boy in solo. And by the way, a small boy

[Megan Morant]

Talonga was at ringside as well. He took care of that, too.

[Co-host]

Yeah.

[Megan Morant]

I kind of feel like at that point you realize, like, oh, that's right. I think that sometimes people go, like, coming off of a loss like that, you go, oh, maybe Oba was like the dominant guy, but now that Brock's beat him, he's. He's human.

[Co-host]

Maybe he put him in his place a little bit.

[Megan Morant]

Right.

[Co-host]

But Oba said, not so fast.

[Megan Morant]

No, we're going back to what we were doing before. Nothing's changed. That's been the story of Obafemi in the tournament. Nothing's changed to the point where then he goes through Dominic Mysterio and it's like nothing's changed. And Dominic tries every trick. And there were multiple times where I think both of us were like, maybe it's gonna be Dominic.

[Co-host]

Yeah. And even J.D. mcDonough was like, you know what? I got. I gotta get out of this guy Obafemi's way.

[Megan Morant]

I should go, probably. And then Obafemi was like, wait, before you go, I'm gonna steamroll you. I'm gonna take care of that. I mean, the hammer in the shoe. Nothing, nothing could help Dominik Mysterio. It was insane. So you get to this finals and you go, well, one would imagine that Obafemi is just going to clean house.

[Co-host]

No, But Jey USO has a lot at stake in this final. This is very layered. Yeah, very layered. Because as we know, Jey uso was told by the tribal chief, Roman Reigns, to go win the king of the ring and go get his hands on the undisputed WWE Championship, the world title that Jay USO hasn't had his hands on.

[Megan Morant]

That's right.

[Co-host]

And if Jey USO can't get the job done, we know from Monday Night Raw and we know from the crowd's reaction, and we know from what Obafemi said to Jay USO that he's coming after Jay's cousin, Roman Reigns. So if Jay can't figure out a way to beat Oba Femi.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah.

[Co-host]

All of a sudden Roman Reigns is in corporate. Quite the situation.

[Megan Morant]

A conundrum, one would even say Jay has now failed two assignments if that was the case. Number one, he can't get that title away from Cody. And number two, he's left Roman Reigns completely vulnerable to any kind of attack that Obafemi may be able to concoct, which is, I mean, frightening. Frightening to say the least. But listen, Jay USO showed up and, like, was not feeling any of that fear. Jey USO on Monday night Raw went face to face with Obafemi.

[Co-host]

He wasn't stressed about it at all.

[Megan Morant]

Not at all. And as much as Oba guaranteed victory, Jay on the other end guaranteed it himself. Jay is like, you are overlooking me. And the fact is that, look, Obafemi does overlook people, and maybe he can. Maybe when you're Obafemi, you can overlook people, but he does. In the King of the Ring tournament in the first round and in the semifinals, after he finished the match, he said, I'm going to be the king of the ring. Also, I'm calling out Brock Lesnar. When he finally now is in the finals, he's looking at Jay uso and he's going, well, yeah, I'm going to beat you, but here's what I'm going to do after I beat you. That's the textbook definition of looking past somebody you. He is not worried about Juo. He's saying, just so you know, here's the plan. Now, that could be a psychological tactic.

[Co-host]

Sure.

[Megan Morant]

Where it's like, you know, I'm, I'm, I'm. I'm degrading J USO's confidence, hoping that he realizes that I think so little of him that I'm, I'm willing to just look at what I'm going to do after I'm finished with him, and maybe that will do things to his internal value system. But it didn't seem to for Jey uso. And I, I don't. I don't know if historically Jay USO is the one to look past.

And I really love that we've gotten to see this side of Jay USO in this King of the Ring tournament because it wasn't long ago that Jay USO won the Royal Rumble and had so many doubts on his way to his match with Gunter for the World heavyweight championship at WrestleMania. This Jay Uso, the one we're seeing who's running it back to shove it in Obafemi's face, took me to the weaponized running back. This Jay USO who's doing the yeet strut. The yeet walk.

[Megan Morant]

The yeet walk. He. I mean, it looks very similar to Oba strut, but he says it's the yeet walk.

[Co-host]

He's doing the yeet walk on the way to the ring. There is nothing hesitant about this Jey uso, which is, you know, a stark contrast to the Jey Uso we saw heading into WrestleMania.

[Megan Morant]

How much do you think, you know, we talk about looking past people, and clearly Obafemi is looking at the whole spectrum of what's in front of him. He's not just looking at one match, and maybe that's how Oba's going to do his best. But how much of what we're seeing from Jey uso do you think is motivated by just trying to be the best Jey uso and trying to win a championship again? And how much of it is the realization that, listen, Jacob Fatu has made it clear he refuses to take orders from my punk ass. He said it multiple times. How much of this is if I have a title? Roman's wearing a championship and it separates him. He has a belt, boy, he has the whole thing. If Jey uso is holding a title, it makes it a lot more difficult for Jacob Fatu to ask him, who do you think you are? Because when you're the WWE undisputed champion and somebody says, who do you think you are? You can tell them, I'm the WWE undisputed champion. How much of Jay's desires are based on that? On. On proving his dominance over Jacob Fatu in this new bloodline versus just the desire to be a champion?

[Co-host]

I think you. That's a massive. A massive part of it, right?

[Megan Morant]

Yeah.

[Co-host]

I mean, there's no question about the way that Jacob Fatu is maybe threatened Jey uso a little bit here and there, just in terms of positioning within the bloodline.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah. Like, in the sense that, like, listen, if you don't understand that I'm not taking orders from you, it's going to get ugly.

[Co-host]

Yes.

[Megan Morant]

Like, there's no sort of. To your point, Jacob doesn't leave it open for negotiation.

[Co-host]

No.

[Megan Morant]

Yes.

[Co-host]

I mean, Jacob makes it very clear where he stands as it relates to Jey uso. But Jey uso at the same time wants to make it clear to everybody in the bloodline and to all of the haters on the Internet where he stands as it relates to not only the bloodline and Roman Reigns, but the entire WWE landscape.

[Megan Morant]

I think that that's right, and I think that part of it is. And I wonder if that's part of it too. Right. Jay uso. And the idea that, like, the audience is still behind Jay uso, no matter what you read, no matter what anybody says, when Jey uso enters a building, it's. It's a different sensation. It feels different, it looks different. Like the audience is there to see Jey uso, but he doesn't have the same level of support that he did at one point. The. And that's typical in Pro wrestling that's typical in life that like, we are there to see you on your way up, but then once you're up there, you're fending for yourself and we will tear you down when we think it's time to tear you down. For Jay to be going into this position, it's almost like, okay, well, I had my Cinderella story, winning my first world heavyweight championship, but the question becomes, was it just that? Was it just the Cinderella story and the one reign and now you can say you did or are you a main event player, are you a world championship contender? And I think that Jey USO is in sort of interesting waters when it comes to this idea of, well, I'm now going in, not an underdog and almost if I don't end up in a title match at SummerSlam, people are, instead of asking, instead of looking at me and going, wow, you, you went really far in that tournament, they're going to say what happened?

[Co-host]

Yeah. And I think, J, the difference between this Jay USO and the Jay USO who was heading into a world heavyweight title match at WrestleMania is this Jay Uso is carrying himself like he belongs there in acting as if he belongs there.

[Megan Morant]

And I think he is acting as if he belongs there. I think staring at Obafemi right in the face without blinking is acting as if he belongs there.

[Co-host]

Consider this your shot.

[Megan Morant]

Yes.

[Co-host]

Wow.

[Megan Morant]

I think the idea that like Jey USO can sit there and not be intimidated, like he was not sucked into that Obafemi aura, not even a little, that he still owned his moment, I don't think, and I don't think he gets enough credit for that because I don't think people would have expected that out of Jay. But I think he nailed it. That said, I just can't see a world where Obafemi is not the king.

I'm right there with you.

[Megan Morant]

You're with me.

Okay.

And that was the case really, when the bracket came out. How is anybody going to beat over now? Don't get me wrong, just like you and just like all the other wrestling fans out there, I had written my, my upset specials in my bracket.

[Megan Morant]

I, I literally had a 30 minute dialogue about why Dominic Mysterio is going to win the king of the ring.

[Co-host]

And you sold me on it.

[Megan Morant]

I know you did. I sold me on it too.

[Co-host]

I was like, oh, Dominic and Cody at SummerSlam, sign me up. I'm there.

[Megan Morant]

We're not even close.

[Co-host]

The trigger.

[Megan Morant]

Let's not even, not even a Little.

[Co-host]

But not even sort of when the bracket came out and I saw who was in the tournament, Oba was the one that I said, that's got to be your number one seed. That's got to be the favorite to go all the way. Who's going to stop Oba Femi?

[Megan Morant]

And then if he wasn't. But, but, but, but if he hadn't been after that Fatal Four way, it's like, what. What are we talking about? What are we talking about here? Okay, well, then when we go to the Queen of the ring side of things, we have Liv Morgan vs IO Sky. And while she presents herself completely differently, I kind of feel like Iyo sky is in a similar boat to Oba Femi.

[Co-host]

I agree with you 100%.

[Megan Morant]

Right.

[Co-host]

I agree with you. And that was the. The other thing, right? When the bracket comes out, it's like, okay, you see EO skies in this thing. Good luck stopping her.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah, and good luck stopping her. She is. And just because, like, she, she, she almost like that first time she looked at the queen of the ring crown, like, stared at it with, like, a childlike wonderment.

[Co-host]

Yeah, but that's so eo. You know, I was looking on WWE social media the other day, and they. The. The. The social media folks over at wwe, great people, but they were playing some tricks backstage on these WWE Super.

[Megan Morant]

I want to know who it is. Who is it that keeps pranking the Superstars? Because Miz does. Although I will tell you, there was one that I really liked, which was that when they said, other than the obvious, if you could change one thing about you, what would it be?

[Co-host]

Obvious.

[Megan Morant]

So that one is good. That one is funny.

[Co-host]

Started using that in your day to day.

[Megan Morant]

I'm thinking about it.

[Co-host]

I think you should.

[Megan Morant]

I'm trying to give it a second to breathe in case anybody saw it.

Yeah.

And then once it breathes a little bit, then I'll start doing it as if it's my own idea. Right. Then I'll run it back. Running back.

But I'm watching this video, and they had pranked all the Superstars, right? To kick out. Kick out before three.

I saw that one. And.

And the reality was there was a screenshot of 2.99.

It's not. By the way, it's not cool. Because sometimes it's like a prank is a prank, but that's a lie. Yes, you're lying. That's not a prank. That's a lie.

And so then they reveal the lie to all the lie. The Superstars.

[Megan Morant]

Hey, we lied.

To you, who were clearly let down that they were not kicking out at 2.99.

[Megan Morant]

I liked Mrs. Reaction when you. He said, oh, is this what we're doing now? Do we come anyway? Do we prank? Do we prank everybody here? Is this what we do now?

[Co-host]

See, I liked IO's reaction because it was so Iyo. It was the same way she looked at that queen of the ring crown in awe, with so much wonder in her eyes. And when she saw that 2.99, she put their hands up to her head and she says, I am the best. And there's just so much love and excitement, glee, innocence with Iyo Sky. But don't mistake that innocence, because this is also the same woman to which you pointed out on the Raw recap show a couple days ago, who puts a garbage can on top of her head, right. And jumps off the War Games cage. I mean, don't mistake EO's childlike wonder as a weakness.

[Megan Morant]

Well, she loves fun.

Yes.

[Megan Morant]

And sometimes the fun is fun pranks and hijinks, and other times the fun is severely damaging opponents to the point that they are beaten. And there's no question about it. That's all fun for Eo, I think. And I think. I think, too, that there was a point where I go, like, I wonder if she knows she's the best wrestler on the planet. You know what I'm saying? Like, when you see her and the. The humility of the way she presents herself, does she know? But then she does. And, you know, when she lets you know that she knows when a moment like Monday Night Raw happens, when Liv thinks that she's physically. Liv Morgan thinks she's physically going to get the best of Iyo sky. And IO goes, oh, are you gonna make me turn this on? Okay, best wrestler in the world. Switch. And she turns it on, and she just dominates every time.

And. And make no mistake about it, Iyo not being on the WrestleMania card, I think impacted her. You do not in a way where, like, her stock has fallen.

So those are the two matches that we get in that first hour on espn. The United States Championship is on the line. Ricky Saints earned the shot, defeating Carmelo Hayes. First of all, I do want to say that the series of matches between Ricky and Mello were absolutely phenomenal.

Spectacular. I mean, you see those guys and what their bodies are capable inside the ring. It's been unbelievable. And Carmelo Hayes, somebody who I, I was really impressed with his United States Championship run.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah.

[Co-host]

Him to go one on one and, and, and tangle up with Ricky Saints. I want more.

[Megan Morant]

I. Yeah, well, we're not gonna get more unless Ricky Saints wins that championship and Mellow gets a shot. And I don't know if Ricky Saints is gonna be generous with his title opportunities, but I also don't know if Ricky Saints is going to be able to get it. I mean, this is a huge platform for Ricky Saints. He came in very, very recently to the wwe and I think that Ricky has still been looking for his moment to show the world who he is and what he has to offer. And I think, you know, on a ple that's as big as Night of Champions in a title match against another, you know, fairly new superstar who has made an insane impact on this brand, which is Trick Williams. For Ricky Saints to be in a position like this where all eyes are watching him, it is certainly a tremendous opportunity for him to not only become a champion, but for him to let the world know who Ricky Saints is.

And for Trick Williams, I like to see him in this different type of match.

[Megan Morant]

Yep.

[Co-host]

You know, we saw what he did at WrestleMania. Then we saw the Gingerbread man and that fiasco that went down on smackdown.

[Megan Morant]

Some would say debacle, others say fiasco.

[Co-host]

Well, it depends who you're talking to. I think Sami Zayn would certainly he'd

[Megan Morant]

call it a debacle as.

[Co-host]

Yeah, maybe fiasco, you might say.

[Megan Morant]

Listen, I think Sami Zayn's got the Gingerbread man behind him because he's main eventing ples now. Okay. But we'll get there.

[Co-host]

Yes, we, we definitely will get there. We have a lot to talk about as it relates to Sami Zayn, but I'm excited to see Trick Williams in, you know, this pace of match with Ricky Saints.

[Megan Morant]

You mean with the athleticism that Ricky Saints has.

[Co-host]

Not to take anything away.

[Megan Morant]

No, of course not. Of course not.

[Co-host]

But like, what we saw on display between Ricky and Carmelo Hayes. It's, it's a different type of match than what we've seen Trick operate in since he's been on the main roster.

[Megan Morant]

And there is, I think, a hunger that goes along with the fact that, you know, this is your shot. And I think, make no mistake about it, Ricky Saints knows that this is his shot. Ricky Saints is not one of these guys that came in as a D1 athlete. And that's not to take anything away from those guys because we've seen incredible success from people who came in that way. D1 athletes are, they're, they're just bred differently, you know, they are, they are, they are, are, are, are fine tuned.

[Co-host]

Wow. As a former D1 athlete, I, you know, I couldn't agree anymore.

[Megan Morant]

No, you were a DB athlete.

[Co-host]

Okay, well.

[Megan Morant]

D bag. So, so, so Ricky is a guy who has been wrestling for years.

[Co-host]

Yeah.

[Megan Morant]

To finally get to the dance. This is a place that Ricky has wanted to be at for years and he's put a lot of work in and he's wrestled in a lot of rings in front of a lot of different crowds and is aware more so than most at what an opportunity this is and quite frankly, how fleeting these opportunities can be. Make no mistake, Ricky Saints is good enough to have opportunities rain down upon him for years to come. But that doesn't mean that they will.

[Co-host]

No, because it, it's all about when you can step up to the plate.

[Megan Morant]

It's timing, it's everything. There's so many different elements. It goes so far beyond just talent. And so I think the fact that Ricky Saints is here and he's not only competing for a title, not only competing on a ple, but doing it against somebody that's got so much buzz right now the whole world is talking about Trick Williams. I think that there's two roads for Ricky Saints to go down. One is that the moment gobbles him up and, and, and eclipses within him that he, that he gets lost in it somewhere. And the other is that he tallies up all of those elements and goes, look at the opportunity that's in front of me. I have to execute. And that's what Trick Williams may have to deal with.

[Co-host]

Ricky Saints has the opportunity to completely stop Trick Williams in his track.

[Megan Morant]

Yes. And, and that is a great point. I believe that if Trick Williams were to lose to Ricky Saints, a tremendous amount of momentum would be lost with Trick as well. And he's, he's been a machine this year. A machine.

Think about that entrance at WrestleMania massive. Think about all the stuff he's been doing with Lil Yachty.

[Megan Morant]

Yes. Does Boat stick around with Trick Williams? If Trick Williams is not the United States Champion.

[Co-host]

Listen, I can't speak for Boat, but if I were a boat.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah, I wouldn't. You'd sail away, probably. That's a terrible thing. That's a real shame. That's a real shame. All that said, I mean, this Trick Williams feels special to me.

To me. Yeah. I'm. I'm in lockstep with you.

[Megan Morant]

Like, there is something different about Trick Williams. And I think that it seems like as the spotlight grows bigger, so does he. He fills the moment. And, you know, I think I saw on, on, on the Internet, he's out here getting married. He's out here starting a family. And again, you go back to Ricky Saints. Two roads. That's two roads for him too. Is that a distraction or is that motivation? You hope for his sake that it's motivation. You hope for his sake that he realizes, like, okay, now, as if we weren't already, it's time to get real. Buckle down and maybe Trick feels like he has to show the world. Maybe Trick feels like it's time to go beyond this sort of like exciting new guy and, and, and lay down a performance that's going to show everybody why he's here. For a long time.

You guys all thought that was it. Oh, no. We were just getting started.

Right? We haven't even gotten out of first gear yet. I think that we're going to get the performance of a lifetime out of Ricky Saints. I don't think it'll be enough.

And while we just talked about the United States Championship, the Women's United States Championship is also on the line at Night of Champions as Tiffany Stratton defends against Jade Cargill.

Yeah, you talk about two young stars that have completely captivated an audience.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah.

Taking the attention. That's Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill. But it is interesting to me to see this match because I feel like Jade has been involved with so many different women on smackdown.

[Megan Morant]

Yes. Yes. But that was part. I mean, that's because she was the champion.

[Co-host]

Yeah.

[Megan Morant]

You know what I mean? That's going to happen when you're the

[Co-host]

champion of friends as champion. No, champions don't.

[Megan Morant]

But guess what? She had a couple of them. Their names are B. Fab and Meachin. And they ended up being very, very helpful.

[Co-host]

Yeah. And I'm sure, you know, after Charlotte Flair learned the hard way to overlook their involvement.

[Megan Morant]

How much of this, when you look at Tiffany. So clearly the women's division is ultra competitive right now. Of course, that United States Championship, I think it's very, very important in this division. You got Tiffany Stratton, who has had WrestleMania moments. I mean, this was the person who came. The minute she came on the main roster. It was. Who's that?

[Co-host]

Yeah. Remember elimination chamber in Australia? That's when Tiffy Time was born.

[Megan Morant]

Was at 25.

[Co-host]

Yeah.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah.

[Co-host]

It wasn't even that long ago.

[Megan Morant]

Right. And that international crowd just going crazy for her. Jade Cargill, the same way Jade Cargill, from the minute she stepped on the WWE roster before she was even in a ring, when she was just having backstage interactions with people, fantasy matches started happening in fans heads.

[Co-host]

She was showing up everywhere.

[Megan Morant]

Yes. And the dialogue started happening. But now they're both on the main roster and now they're both mainstays on the main roster. And it feels to me like this is one of those matches where there can only be one of us that's up next, only one of us. I, I, I think between this is an opportunity for either Tiffany or Jade Cargill to truly define the Women's United States Championship. And for both of them to also, you know, in the bigger picture, go, well, we're, we're both going to be a part of the future of the division. But who is the woman who is going to lead this division on smackdown or wherever else into the future? And I think that's very difficult for me to say. If you just came up to me and said, who do you put your money on if you can only do one Tiffany Stratton or Jade Cargill?

[Co-host]

That's tough.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah. I don't know if I could do that. I feel like that's what this match is about. It answers that question that maybe previously we wouldn't have been able to answer.

[Co-host]

And it's a great question. I'm really looking forward to seeing Tiffany Stratton on a premium live event because it has been a while. You know, she had an incredible reign as the women's champion over on Smackdown, the WWE Women's Champion. And then she was off our TV screens for a while.

[Megan Morant]

Sure.

[Co-host]

She came back before WrestleMania, wasn't on the WrestleMania card. She wins United States Championship off of Julia, And I think she's been impressive ever since she's been back.

[Megan Morant]

Yes.

[Co-host]

But we haven't seen her have that big ple. Match. And I think that this Tiffany is different from the Tiffany we saw before she went away for some time. How different? Yeah, I think we'll find out.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah, I think there is more aggression here.

[Co-host]

Yeah.

[Megan Morant]

I think even seeing the interactions with her and Chelsea, it's like. And she might want to think about, you know, embracing having an ally and

[Co-host]

Chelsea, I mean, especially when you look across the other side of the ring and Jade Cargill is as big and strong and dominant as she is. She is. She's got. She's got reinforcements.

[Megan Morant]

But there's also this thing, right. Of everything you just said is correct, and Tiff is different, and she was gone, and now she's back and trying to reestablish herself at the same time. I think Jade Cargill probably defined herself by that WWE Women's Championship.

[Co-host]

And what do you do when it's

[Megan Morant]

gone and she lost it? So now it's like, are you that person? Are you a champion or were you a champion? I think that's a big question. And I think that if Jade is unsuccessful here, it starts to draw into question, how far to the back of the line is she going? You know, that's a big. That's a big thing to deal with. Do you. If you lose a United States Championship match, can you realistically go forward and say, okay, well, that's fine, but I am looking for another shot at the women's championship. Well, you just lost for the US Title, I think. I think you got some. Some proving to do.

Yeah, you got to really go back to the drawing board and figure it out.

[Megan Morant]

All that said, I think Jade Cargill is not spending a ton of time without gold around her waist. I think. I think Jade Cargill is going to Knight of Champions and coming home a champion.

[Co-host]

Wow.

[Megan Morant]

I think Jade Cargill walks out the US Champion.

[Co-host]

You know, the stakes are so massive for Jade Cargill that for me, I really want to see what this Tiffany Stratton is made of. And if that level of aggression translates on a PLA plaque PLE match against one of the strongest forces in all of wwe. So I'm going to take Tiffany. Wow.

[Megan Morant]

It really is one of those where either one could win, but it is, I think, going to be, at least in the short term, a career defining moment for either one. This is this. This one, more than maybe any other match on the show, feels like a something's got to give match.

Yeah.

[Megan Morant]

Where it's like both of these two women have the potential to do incredible things for which one of them is now the time. And I think that that's what gets answered inside this match. Speaking of inside, inside of a steel cage, we get Seth Rollins and Braun Breaker. Now, Seth Rollins thought that he was done with the Vision, and the Vision made it clear that he can be as done with them as they want. They're not done with him. However, he sat down with Corey Graves on Monday Night Raw and he made it clear that if he is able to beat Bron Breakker inside that steel cage, he can put the Vision behind him. All that said, Bron Breakker is the one that led the Vision to turn on Seth. Bron Breakker has to beat Seth. Bron Breakker has to be in the position to be like, yeah, we threw you out because we don't need you anymore. We're better than you. And I think that that Bron Breaker is in this position where Seth Rollins looked at him in the face a month or two ago. When he came back, he told me he wasn't ready and said, you're not ready. And I think it's up to Bron Breaker to prove him wrong at Night of Champions.

[Co-host]

I think Seth Rollins, as the visionary that he is, has proven many times that when he's operating at the highest level, he seems to be a step ahead of everybody else. He seems to have an answer for everything that the Vision has thrown at him. But just when Seth had an answer for all of those things, had an answer for Paul, Heyman had an answer for Bron Breaker, had an answer for Logan. Paul had an answer for Austin Theory. A week later, it was as if Seth forgot about the whole thing.

[Megan Morant]

He had put it behind him.

[Co-host]

And the Vision beat Seth at his own gate. Now Seth showing up on Monday Night Raw and costing the Vision the Tag Team Championship clearly showed that Bron Breaker is vulnerable in a sense.

[Megan Morant]

I mean, it was masterful what Seth did. I thought it was masterful. I thought the. The performance that Seth had a couple weeks ago when Paul Heyman got speared through that barricade. That's exactly what you're talking about. With Seth being one step ahead of them. Mentally, I think he was three steps ahead of them. And I haven't said this yet, but the more I thought about it, right, the more I watched how composed Seth was in that interview with Corey Graves. And then I saw the way he acted. Everything he was doing was for a reason. When he got out there into that match, the reason that he went through the back was so that Bron Breaker would be double distracted. The reason he went into the crowd was not because he was scared. It was so that he could get Braun Breaker away from ringside. He did all of this to prove that. That he is one step ahead of Braun Breaker, but then to also make it so that Bron Breaker is walking in tonight of champions on a loss. Austin Theory got pinned. They lost the Tag Team championship. And I said, this is a guy who's using that big brain. This is a guy who's using that brain. And I said, you know what I would call, and it's so interesting, based on Seth Rollins previous companions. But I said, if there was anyone to bestow this name upon, it'd be Seth Rollins. He was acting like a Cerebral Assassin. Wow. It's what I. It's what I came to the whole time. Like, this guy is using, like you said, all of the Vision's own tricks against them. He's doing it all and he's. And you can see it once it gets done. You never would have seen it coming, but once it gets done, every single step you see, I go, this is what being a Cerebral Assassin is.

You got questions, I got answers. Yes, I have all of the problems solved.

[Megan Morant]

Right. And I know what they are. Before you even. No, like, before you've figured out what your plan is. I've already figured out what the solution is. I've already figured out what my counterattack is going to be. Cuz I already know what your plan is going to be.

[Co-host]

And if that's the Seth that comes to the steel cage match this weekend. Nobody's beating Seth.

[Megan Morant]

I don't think so. Especially, I mean, he has a confidence about him that you haven't seen. And that's where I think that Cerebral Assassin thing comes in. This is just me talking, but I go like, okay, we saw the Monday Night Messiah, we saw the Visionary, we saw the Architect, we saw the Revolutionary, we saw all this stuff. But I mean, I don't know, is it too much to just sit there and Call him a Cerebral Assassin.

[Co-host]

My only hesitation is the fact that he was a Cerebral Assassin. And then the next week, the Vision was able to play Cerebral Assassin against him.

[Megan Morant]

But then what did he do the week after?

[Co-host]

Was able to prove himself once again.

[Megan Morant]

Okay, so he got back up. Got knocked down, got back up. He thought he was done. He thought the job was done. He was wrong. Let me ask you this. If he is successful at Night of Champions in the cage, is the job done?

[Co-host]

Yes, definitively the job is done.

[Megan Morant]

Wow.

[Co-host]

Done, Finished. Done. This ends in one place in a steel cage match.

[Megan Morant]

Do you think the steel cage will be effective in the sense that like the steel cage is designed to keep people who shouldn't be there out?

[Co-host]

Yeah, I do.

[Megan Morant]

You do? I don't know. It's a good thing Seth has allies. I think that Seth is going to have to make sure that he gets those long trip airplane tickets for Montez Ford, for Angelo Dawkins, for Joe Hendry, for whoever he needs. Whether they're his friends or just enemies of his enemies, he needs to get them all there. Because let me tell you, I don't care if that cage is 10 stories tall.

Logan Paul can't climb up it.

[Megan Morant]

No, he can't.

[Co-host]

But you know, arm in a brace,

but you know what fits through a little cage link?

[Megan Morant]

Brass knucks. Okay, you mean to tell me Austin Theory wouldn't climb up there? Austin Theory would. You mean to tell me Logan Paul wouldn't act as a distraction?

I've seen Austin Theory climb as a masked man and he's pretty agile.

[Megan Morant]

He's super agile. He stomps. I saw him. Guy F5 off an elimination chamber. Chamber one time. Crazy. Okay, but like you can fit brass knuckles through there. You can act as a distraction. You can hold back. There's a million things that you can do. I don't think this is going to have that effect. I think that that Seth Rollins is still going to need to have all the backup that he ever has. I'm hopeful. Listen, if I think Seth has the ability to be the winner here.

Yeah.

[Megan Morant]

And it's something I'd like to see happen. I just to your point about holding your breath before you say Cerebral Assassin because you've seen him be ineffective before. What are we going to get on Saturday? Are we going to get the guy who's one step ahead? Are we going to get the guy that fell? And underneath the numbers game, it is

crazy because for someone who has the resume like Seth Rollins does, and for everything he's done in this business. I think if anything, what's been going on with Bron Breaker and the vision shows Seth that at every single moment, you have to have an answer for A, B, C, D, E, F and

[Megan Morant]

G. And then, by the way, you know what's going to actually do it?

[Co-host]

H. H always does it.

[Megan Morant]

It's that other one.

[Co-host]

It's always H. It's always H. But for all that he's done and all of the experience he has, and while he makes the claim that Braun Breaker isn't ready, Seth has to have all

those answers, every single one of them.

Otherwise it's not getting done.

Absolutely. Well, you can't trust Dan Engler cannot. And who's another referee you can't trust?

Okay, so now you're starting to run out of refs.

Danilo is always available for pay for pay.

Yeah. And let me tell you something. He won't share it.

Not one dime. Not that cheap ass you have. They restart the match. Sami Zayn is so furious, he gets involved. The whole thing gets thrown out. We end up with Cody Rhods telling Nick Aldis, I gotta beat both of them. And here we go with the triple threat match. Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn and Gunther.

It was like backwards hat.

[Megan Morant]

Cody Rhodes, backwards hat with the snapback in the front.

[Co-host]

It's not a look we see often from Cody.

[Megan Morant]

No, it's all. It's all business. All business. Cody, track jacket, backwards hat, Cody, it looks like QB1. I gotta beat them both and then go, okay, backwards hat. Well, you. Then you can. You'll have the opportunity to beat them both. And he's out here now defending his title in a triple threat match. Not the best thing to do as champion. You don't have to be pinned to lose your title. Champions advantage is thrown out the window. And you have someone as destructive and Gunther and someone is nuts as Sami Zayn that you're staring at. But I've got to tell you, to describe nuts. You see what he's done to these water bottles backstage at Smackdown. Not good. Not good. And Johnny Gargano is doing no help to calm down Sami Zayn. None at all. He's just lying there.

I don't think Sam even realizes that Johnny's not helping though.

[Megan Morant]

No. And he doesn't ask Candace one question.

[Co-host]

[Megan Morant]

I would definitely open up the conversation to Candace. It's a rude thing. Rude thing. But at the same time, in my travels on my radio show, I've never heard more. Well, I'm not going to say I've never heard more people. I would say, I don't know that I've heard more people speculating on the idea of Sami Zayn winning the WWE Championship since a certain elimination chamber pay per view in Montreal.

Yep.

[Megan Morant]

You know, that was the last time I think there was this kind of guy because somehow, and I mean, a couple of weeks ago, it was different.

[Co-host]

Yeah.

[Megan Morant]

But people are seeing a world where Sami Zayn, lunatic that he is, comes out of this with the WWE Championship.

[Co-host]

And a lot of people are making a huge deal about the reaction that Sami Zayn historically gets in Saudi.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah, sure.

[Co-host]

And a lot of that's where his day ones are about this tops now moment where we could see a real world where Sami Zayn is the undisputed WWE Champion.

[Megan Morant]

I don't remember the last time Cody went into a match defending his Title where I've heard more people have more thoughts about him not being successful. Yeah, it's usually a given that Cody's going to retain. And I'm hearing a lot of people going, Sammy. And you know what else is surprising?

[Co-host]

What's up?

[Megan Morant]

You'd think you'd hear so many more people going, clearly Gunther is going to win. And I think Gunther's being heavily underestimated.

[Co-host]

Yeah, you haven't heard a lot. I mean, most of the conversation that I've heard and seen has primarily been about Sammy and Cody.

[Megan Morant]

Yes, it's either. It's either. Well, wouldn't it be interesting if Sammy or then we go to SummerSlam and Cody Rhodes defends against X. Cody Rhodes defends against Y. When you talk about the King of the Ring and Oba and Jay uso Jay was talking about it on Raw. I'm going to SummerSlam to face Cody Rhodes didn't even think about this match. But the people who aren't thinking Cody are thinking Sammy. And I think there should be a lot more people being reminded of who's in there with both of them.

I think because people genuinely hate Gunter so much, you think they do. Retiring John Cena.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah.

For retiring AJ Styles. What about the other one for retiring Bill Goldberg?

[Megan Morant]

That's right. That seth Rollins at WrestleMania.

People just think, oh, I don't want

Gunter because I so don't. I'm not going to put that energy

out there, so I'm not going to talk about it.

[Megan Morant]

But it would be an all time Gunter moment because the reaction would be exactly that hideous. Don't want this. Boo.

That's the thing we didn't want to happen. Boo this, man.

But you know what? Gunter typically gives us the thing we don't want to happen.

I know, I know. He takes that hope away, stomps on it.

And given just all of the layers that are there with Sammy and Cody and this friendship that maybe isn't so much of a friendship.

[Megan Morant]

Oh, I don't think it's a friendship. I think Sami Zayn is out here acting as if like you owe me a friendship. And Cody Rhodes has had it up to a here with Sammy.

Something like enough.

Yeah, yeah. He hit him. He hit him with one of these.

Yeah, yeah.

I mean, you know, I mean, how do you. I mean, you can't say your friends when you look at somebody and go, you know why they're chanting that you suck? Because you do. I'd be like, bro, I mean, I've heard a tough love, but we're not cool. Like, if you said that to me, I go, meg, I'm not gonna quit the show. I'm gonna go crazy. But, like, we're not cool.

But then Sammy goes, just being real, man.

And I think Gunter is in a situation here where that can play out the way it does between Sammy and Cody. All it takes for Gunter is one sleeper hold.

I think that's right. I think that that's a great point because I think that Gunther, he has to stop with the emotions. It was really odd on smackdown that he got so worked up that he powerbombed the referee.

Yeah.

Like, if Gunther is able to stick to the task at hand and allow Cody and Sammy to have, you know, whatever this weird emotional thing going on is, then Gunther is going to be able to win this match. But, you know, I mean, I can come up with a million different ways that a million different things could happen. It's still difficult for me to picture the idea of Cody not winning the big one, of Cody not leaving the

show as champion of QB1, not being the undisputed WWE champion.

[Megan Morant]

That's just the way I Wild World. That's the way I see it. I think that there are more versions where he's not than ever before coming out of this match. But I still, I, I. My jaw would be on the floor, and I'm prepared for it to be on the floor, but my jaw would be on the floor if Cody lost the title.
