We are so back. Roman reigns has won the 2026 men's royal rumble. Liv morgan is a royal rumble winner. Drew mcintyre is still the wwe champion. We're going to talk about gunther and aj styles. Liv morgan is going to be on the show. I believe gunther is ready to do it right now. This is the royal rumble recap. It's on wwe now. Fanatics of wwe original production. Welcome to WWE now. Welcome to the Royal Rumble Recap. Yes, we are officially now WWE now. But before we, we, we get into too much, before we get into the Royal Rumb and Liv Morgan and Roman Reigns, before we really break down what we saw with Gunther and A.J. styles. Megan, I think kind of much to your chagrin, you may not be in the mood for it, but I think, I think we have Gunther all the way from Riyadh, ready to join us. Fresh off of the Royal Rumble. Fresh off of, frankly, once again disappointing a large, large audience of people, probably not caring a ton about that part of it. Gunther, we welcome you to this Royal Rumble recap. How would you. How would you assess the night for yourself?
C
So my intent was to tap AJ out, and my intent was to win the Royal Rumble. Obviously, well, that didn't fully work out, but I sure as hell made sure A.J. styles falls asleep like a little bitch.
B
Wow. Yeah. Yeah. What do you get out of this, this. This feeling? I mean, this has happened twice now within almost like six weeks of each other, that these legends, they fall asleep in your arms and there's this moment before your theme plays where a hush has fallen over the crowd. Most wrestlers, they need this noise, whether it's cheers, whether it's booze, some kind of response. You seem to do better with just utter silence.
C
But the question is, like, what do you get out of it? What does everybody else get out of it? It's like, I'm doing a good service to the sport, to the business of Professional wrestling, because there's all those guys, they overstate the welcome. They chase another moment, and nobody takes the time and invests their energy in stepping up to them and make them understand, hey, get out of here. It's like you've done your thing. It's time to move on and take moments away from people far greater, like myself. So that's what it is. Simple as that. You can blame me for what it is, but my career is not built on what fans think about me. My career is not built on Goldberg, John Cena, AJ Styles. My career is built on the results I deliver, the performances I deliver. That's what it's building.
B
Did you specifically target Randy Orton in the Royal Rumble for similar reasons?
C
Maybe.
B
Wow. Wow. I mean, I talked to. I was. I mean, Megan's in kind of a state of. Of shock. She hasn't quite wrapped her head. She doesn't like any more.
D
Because you say, like, what's your issue? Well, you say you're. They're taking something. These legends are taking something from the business, but I feel like you are. Are taking a whole lot from us. I was looking Forward to seeing AJ Styles at WrestleMania, but now.
C
Yeah, so that's. Maybe that's the issue. Maybe you're on the wrong side of the barricade then, because you don't, you don't seem to. You, you don't seem to get it because this is not Disneyland. This is professional wrestling. This is a cutthroat business. This is where the younger, the older, and that's just the reality of it. And everybody needs to kick out of that fairy tale mindsets, want another nice moment, Get a life, Focus on results, focus on money. That's what this business is about. That's all I care.
B
Yeah, and you're, you're, you're. I mean, you're doing. Clearly, you are doing a good job with both of those things, results and money. What did you make after the match of the fact that AJ Styles began to take his gloves off? The way John Cena took his armband off and left it in the ring, but then AJ put his gloves back on.
C
I didn't see that.
B
You didn't even watch after the, like, when it was time to give AJ his flowers.
C
Which flowers? I don't have flowers for aj, okay. What are you talking about?
B
You didn't watch like the post match or the. You just.
C
No. Let them all hug each other. I'd cry a little bit, but no, I had bigger things to focus on. I had to go into the Royal Rumble again. And I knew obviously what. I was the last one, so I knew what was waiting for me. And as you could have mentioned that too, when I walked down there, AJ took it out of me and making it to the last two with Roman Reigns for the first time with Roman in the ring. But my way leads to the World Heavyweight Championship or the WWE Championship in the future, so I assume it won't be the last time.
B
So if Roman Reigns, who won the Royal rumble, goes to WrestleMania and wins that title, would you categorize Roman Reigns as, as one of those people that needs to step aside?
C
Let's see. Definitely an obstacle.
B
Wow.
C
Wow.
B
I mean, does it bring you a sense of, of, of joy? You said on first take before the John Cena match that you like to antagonize, that you enjoy the antagonization. Very easy.
D
Yeah.
B
No, no, you got very good at it. I mean, you were, you were threatening to retire Michael Cole the last time. You guys, he's always staying as well come.
C
I tell you that.
B
You think so?
C
He can't let go. Quite obviously, he can't let go. He needs a hobby or something to make it easier for him. Wow. Maybe he could start golf or something like that.
B
No, that. I, I guess that's true. I mean, a lot of people, well, whatever. Do you, do you have anybody else in mind right now? Do you. Do you look forward and go, okay, here's where I'm moving on to next? Or do you think this will be another scenario now that you have added to your list of accomplishments, where you go out on Raw on Monday and just say, oh, and by the way, I'm also the guy that retired AJ Styles.
C
All these questions about the future, none of that is anybody's business but mine. So I'll leave it with that. And I would like to repeat myself before I walk out of here.
B
Sure.
C
Adrian St didn't tap out, but no problem because he went to sleep like a little bitch every good night.
B
Thank you, Gunther. Well, like we said, thanks to Gunther for making some time with us. No, yeah, I mean, usually, usually you have a little bit more to contribute to the conversations, but what more is there to say? No, Walla. I, I was not surprised that that.
D
Was how you did based on ended AJ Styles career. I was dreading this match all week.
B
Well, listen, listen, listen. I, I don't want to, I don't. I don't want to get too bogged down by it because a lot of stuff happened. Of course, we have two Royal Rumble winners, one of them is going to be on the show a little bit later, I think hopefully all the way from Riyadh. But Roman Reigns, first one, the 2026 Men's Royal Rumble. His road to Wrestlemania starts now. It feels so good coming off of my tongue. Celebrate his victory with an all new winner's tee that is available now at WWE Shop and Fanatics. It's got the logo behind him and everything. I'm so excited about it. But he's not the only one. Liv Morgan also punched her ticket to Wrestlemania. She is the 2026 Women's Royal Rumble champion and therefore you can celebrate the moment with her as well with an all new winner's tea that is available now at WWE Shop and Fanatics. And of course, as always, these Royal Rumble matches had a bunch of surprises, a bunch of returns. One of which Tiffany Stratton, Tiffy Time is back.
D
That's right.
B
Celebrate the return of Tiffany Stratton at WWE with new authentic tees that are available now at WWE Shop and Fanatics. You can get that ringer tee.
D
I think I might.
B
You should.
D
I love the Tippy Time shirts. We have pink. It looks good.
B
I know. It looks really, really good. We are officially on the road to Wrestlemania. It starts now. And this, by the way, is now WWE Now. What was once called the Raw recap is now WWE Now. We're very, very excited.
D
Yeah.
B
Because now Raw recap will still exist as always, but it's part of WWE now as recaps to all the ples that we've been doing, as will be preview shows to all the ples that we've been doing. And I think we're. We're. We're looking forward to expanding the WWE now podcast feed much, much further. So make sure that you're subscribed because we're going to be dropping shows throughout the week. We're going to have all kind. We got all kinds of plans now. And WWE now is going to be the place that we house it all.
D
It's an exciting time in the basement.
B
It's a very, very exciting time in the basement. Whichever basement you're in, it travels with me sometimes.
E
That's right.
B
But the first episode of the podcast that is now WWE now is the Royal Rumble recap. And we start where we ended. Roman Reigns, who went on Pat McAfee Show. Wow.
D
We're starting there.
B
Look, he went out there and he called a shot. He said, that's. Thank you, Meghan. Everything counts. And he went out there and said, listen, he took full ownership of the fact that since losing the championship at WrestleMania 40, things haven't been the same.
D
They haven't.
B
He came back. He did not win the Royal Rumble. He went to WrestleMania. He did not win the Triple Threat match. He, he. His team did not win the War Games match. And he's been in and out.
D
And it's just one at SummerSlam. Did not get the pin.
B
Didn't get the pin. Jay USO did, and then he got pinned by Bronson Reed. But he went on Pat McAfee's show and he said, I've given everybody two years. I've given everybody two years, and they haven't done it. So Papa's coming home. That's not what he said specifically, but that's how I took it in.
D
That's how you interpreted it.
B
Papa's coming home. And I said, oh, my God.
D
And it is pretty crazy because earlier in the week when we sat down and did a show, you said, I think it's gonna be Bron Breaker. And then by Thursday, you had completely changed your tune and you went back to your tribal chief and you realized that the moment you saw him. Which I get to wit. But I feel very, very lucky that I was in this room with you when Roman Reigns music hit. And it's so great because you truly do turn into a completely different person. You're brought back to those bloodline days. You're reminded of who Roman Reigns is. And I think you're not alone. Everybody is. And the entire complexion of the Royal Rumble match changed when Roman entered.
B
Everything changes when Roman enters. And that's what I. That's what I told you would happen as soon as I saw him. And that's why, you know, that's why WWE now is so important. Because, look, right after Raw, I got visions of the vision in my head, and I'm thinking about all of it. And I go, yeah, it's probably going to be Bron Breaker. And then this and that. And I just sit with it. I go, no, the minute I see Roman Reigns, he's the one that's going to be pointing at that WrestleMania sign.
D
It feels a little weird to say, but it. Roman needed the win.
B
Absolutely. And look at that with the pyro going off behind it. Just the golden fireworks flashing behind the WrestleMania sign that finally Roman Reigns is pointing at. You know, I was in the building in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, over 10 years ago.
D
I was a tough. A tough place to be wearing a.
B
Roman Reigns T shirt when Roman Reigns won the Royal Rumble and did not get the Reaction that maybe he wanted to go, it was very different tonight in Riyadh because it's a very different Roman Reigns. And I came in and I told you, I told you on the preview show, I said, I have had enough of like, okay, we've acknowledged what Roman has done. We have all sat there and said, look, whether you admitted it at the time or not, the bloodline story, the bloodline group, everything Roman did for that three and a half years as champion redefined the business of professional wrestling. It was storytelling on a different level, and nothing was ever the same again. And then that story ended when Cody finished his story and a new story begins. And I said, okay, I'm all about new stories. I'm all about new talent. I love seeing Obafemi and. And Javon Evans and. And Royce Keys and Trick Williams with.
E
Those lemon pepper steppers.
B
I love his lemon pepper steppers.
D
I love how yesterday on Smackdown, he had the. The camera guy shoot the.
B
The step is because you want to see the steppes.
D
We don't always get to see talent shoes.
B
A lot of times you don't. A lot of times you don't. But with all that said, I go, I. I'm. I'm not ready. Do you remember when we sat there at WrestleMania 40, we were together in Philadelphia, sitting on the floor in that football stadium, and Roman Reigns came out, and what did I say to you?
D
I'm not ready.
B
I'm not ready.
D
I didn't appreciate it enough.
B
I wasn't ready for it to end. I go, it's not time I changed my mind. It's not time I changed my mind. And since then, it's like, okay, now when you put this in front of me and go, what if Roman just dominated again for a whole year? I go, that sounds delightful. That sounds lovely. That sounds incredible. And the idea that Roman Reigns has said enough of all of it. I mean, from the moment that he walked into the ring and Jey Uso who, you know, in the last 365 days, I would say Roman and Jay have reconnected. I would say that Roman, because of Jay's world title reign, looks at Jay a little bit differently, a little bit more seriously. Maybe, sort of, you know, that maybe he's breathing air that's a little more comparable to the rare air that Roman breathes.
D
Yes.
B
And when Jay was ready to run it back and run it back, and if I could be candid here, you said, I don't think the Royal Rumble is an appropriate time to run it back.
D
I Did say that. Yes, I did say that.
B
And I'm gonna agree with you. Cause Roman Reigns agreed with you. Cause when he said, hey, Jay, you wanna run it back? Jay, you wanna run it back again? You had flashes of the bloodline when he'd be like, is that what you think is right to do? We're not doing that. He goes, you wanna run it back? Is that what we should do? You wanna run it back? And then just hits Jay right in the face, goes, no, no, we are fighting. And I think that that is the seriousness that you need. That's the seriousness that Roman Reigns brings. There's nothing more important than being at the top of this industry. And the Royal Rumble is a fight to see who gets to be in the match. That is the main event of the most important show in wrestling every year. You get to sit at the top of the industry and prove that you're the greatest. But you got to win the Royal Rumble. You can't run it back.
D
Yeah, and I did say that. I said it's not an appropriate time. Roman came in, I mean, just 24 hours removed from that appearance on Pat McAfee that had the entire Internet buzzing. It had wrestling fans everywhere talking about in the Roberts. Yes. It had the wrestling fans everywhere talking about what the tribal chief said. And nothing about Roman's appearance tonight showed us that he's not capable or ready to just completely dominate again for who knows how long.
B
I mean, look at the people that you had in that match. Look at the people that had, you know, face to faces with Roman Reigns. We saw Roman and Cody face to face. And if you remember Survivor Series, they didn't leave on great terms.
D
And every time I saw it, I said, you're in my way in life.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Going back to the football field. But even at Survivor Series, he goes, you know, this is the last time. This is the last time. What about Jacob and Roman forever, man. When Solo Sikoa was running that new bloodline, we were all going like, yeah, no, no, no. Roman's got to get the Ulafala back from Solo. Roman's got the Ulafala back from Solo. What about Jacob? One day. What about Jacob? And now that Jacob has, like entered into the main event scene without argument, and I dare you to try to argue with him. Roman is sitting there now face to face with Jacob as well. And eliminated, by the way. Roman eliminated Jacob Fatu from the Royal Rumble. Roman eliminated Jey USO from the Royal Rumble.
D
He had five total eliminations, I believe Logan Paul eliminated Logan. Paul?
B
Yes, he eliminated Logan. Paul Gunther, as we talked about, eliminated Randy Orton. But then Roman Reigns. You asked. You said you don't like Gunther matches anymore. Again, I'll be candid because nobody can stop him. I know it's upsetting to you.
D
It is.
B
Guess who stopped Gunther. Roman Reigns, the tribal chief.
D
There was a moment there, it was wild because we recorded our Royal Rumble preview podcast and I said Gunter would win the Royal Rumble. You said Roman Reigns would win the Royal Rumble?
B
Yes.
D
And there we are, sitting here watching it together. The two final contestants are Roman Reigns and Gunter. And I love nothing more than being right. So naturally you would think that I'm cheering for Gunter so that I can be right and come in here. Come in here and look you in the eyes and say, I told you so.
B
You love I told you so.
D
But I couldn't help but root for Roman Reigns because I did not want Gunter to win.
B
And all the aura is still there, too.
D
That's right.
B
Every bit of it. The idea that he goes and who knows, man, when you look at who the champions are right now, you got Drew McIntyre and you have CM Punk. Both of those matches to finally get The Roman Reigns vs CM Punk match would be massive. But there is so much history between Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre as well. And I think if there's one thing that we learned from the Royal Rumble, Drew McIntyre's preference would be to not ever have to face Cody Rhodes again. Because Drew helped to make sure that Cody did not win that match. You know, Drew was right there to help to make sure that Cody Rhodes was eliminated from that match. And that was Cody's one shot of getting to WrestleMania, of fighting Drew McIntyre. Now, of course, with everything that goes on in WWE, those titles could. Those titles could move.
D
He could Change again before WrestleMania.
B
Before WrestleMania. But what's not moving is Roman Reigns as your Royal Rumble champion. I have to say, this was a hideous night for everybody associated with Paul Heyman.
D
Oh, yeah.
B
I mean, Paul Heyman had the worst. I mean, for somebody who has made a career of being on the right side no matter what happens, I don't know if he was calling the wrong plays. I don't know if he didn't see things coming that were coming. But Paul Heyman had a horrible night.
D
Yeah. It started with the Countdown show where he addressed Adam Pearce about the fact that Bron Breakker would be entering second in the Royal Rumble Number two. That all of this was a setup.
B
Another Pierce screw job.
D
That's right. To Screw the vision over.
B
And then, I mean, but before you move on from that, what about what Adam Pierce was saying to him? What are you doing? It's a random. What did he say? It's a random drawing. What are you doing? You know what I mean? When you look at somebody in the face and you go, what are you doing? That's almost like this, like I'm trying to bring you back into reality. You look like a maniac right now.
D
And even CM Punk said to him, what are you doing? We've known it's a random drawing.
B
Right. Which I don't think that you want to hear that from your ex best friend. Right. I don't think that Paul Heyman wants to take advice from CM Punk right now. I don't think it lands properly.
D
He's like, shut up, you.
B
Yeah, exactly. No, no, he doesn't get his way. Brom Breaker does indeed come to the ring based on the number that he drew from, as R Truth would put it, Adam Pierce's ball. And he comes to the ring at number two, staring down Obafemi. Now I'm sitting there going, I can't wait to see Bron Breaker and Obafemi, like, what happens here. Because, I mean, it's really interesting how quickly WWE is moving right now because you look at Oba Femi as this new guy going for established talent. But Bron Breakker was Obafemi like six months ago.
D
Yeah, like not long ago, not long ago at all.
B
But now we're already moving over and going like, well, Oba's here. And it's like, if you haven't done it by now, big deal. I'm here to take it.
D
Oba entering at number one too. I'm thinking, oh my gosh, he could, he could go the distance.
B
Absolutely.
D
Who? There was a couple moments there where I thought Obafemi was, was running it back. 2020, Brock Lesnar style.
B
He went through five guys, first five eliminations. Just like that, boom, boom, boom. And the first one came, I think, very unexpectedly. Bron Breaker comes out. Man, I don't know. Somebody bought ski masks and black hoodies wholesale.
D
Yep.
B
Because the rate at which those things are popping up, it's crazy to me. The WWE shop does not have a black zip up hoodie and a ski mask on sale right now. Because that outfit, I've seen that outfit no fewer than 38 times in the last year and a half. I mean, it's, it's, it's the quintessential bad news outfit.
D
Becky lynch was wearing. It. Austin theory was wearing it.
B
I didn't even think of Becky lynch. You're right, 100%. She was wearing it. Jacob Fatu was wearing it. R Truth was wearing it. I mean, and then you go back to the history of the bloodline. That's solo Sokoa.
D
That.
B
I mean, it's been. It's been all over the place. But I tell you, when that outfit comes out, maybe it's like the sisterhood of the traveling pants. Like, there's something about that outfit that.
D
Gets a little big and fit. Becky lynch and Jacob Fudd, too. Same pair of pants.
B
Well, I think it's stretchy. You know what I mean? I think. I think there's some stretch in it. But the masked man comes out of nowhere, attacks Bron Breakker, stomps Bron Breakker leaves Bron Breaker laying. Braun gets in the ring. Obafeme eliminates him immediately. We know for a fact that the Vision was ready to fight in the Rumble to make sure Bron Breakker won the thing, and he doesn't even make it. I mean, Obafemi got to rest for a minute and a half waiting for the next guy to come out.
D
So the entire Vision's plan of working for Bron Breaker is immediately scrapped.
B
And if you look at how hard. If you look at how hard Oba clothesline Bron Breaker over that top rope, it's like a. It's like just a flash of color. You don't. You don't even know what you're looking at because Oba just re. Just did not care. Oba said, this is my opportunity. This is my moment. You've been seeing my name flash across the screen. People going, what's the deal with this Obafemi guy? It's time to make an impression.
D
I'll show you what's the deal with this Obafemi guy? And he made you think you're the future Bron Breaker.
C
Yeah.
B
You have any idea who that masked man is?
D
No clue. I am so curious what the deal is with masked men delivering stomps.
B
Well, yeah, I mean, well, of course it all travels back to Seth Rollins, but it's all sort of, you know, messaging. Seth Rollins said. I mean, he was on all the shows, and he said on every show, I'm not gonna be in the Royal Rumble.
D
Which, given his track record, means nothing.
B
No, he could be lying. I saw unreal. He could be lying. Even when Ryan Clark was like, you're returning from injury in the Royal Rumble. And Seth was like, no, I'm not.
D
I was like, that means.
B
Why are you saying that? I'm not doing that.
D
So you.
B
So everything is kind of shrouded in mystery, but I find it difficult. I. Look, could it have been Seth?
D
Sure.
B
Paul Heyman was shouting. That was Seth Rollins. Could be. I mean, could it be Austin Theory again trying to get an advantage for himself?
D
Could it be.
B
Could it be Adam Pierce trying to get back. Get himself back in the ring, former NWA World's Champion?
D
I don't think it's Adam Pierce.
B
But why? I mean, you know about Scrap Daddy. It could be. He's had that suit on for a long time. That doesn't mean. That doesn't mean he's not a force under it.
D
I mean, at this point, there's not a lot of people you could rule out.
B
No. Could be Logan Paul.
D
I was thinking the same.
B
You were.
D
I was.
B
Because you just don't trust him with anything.
E
Yeah.
D
And he was the one who was like, we are all going to help Braun Breaker. And then Logan Paul ends up in the final four of the Royal Rumble.
B
Oh, my gosh. It really could have been, you know. Yeah. Yeah.
D
And it just seemed so out of character for Logan Paul to want to help other people.
B
Right.
D
To be a team player.
B
Could have been one of the Samoans, one of the bloodline people. Right. Trying to get Braun Breaker out because it was Mission, you know, get Roman to the. To the end. I. That's a little more difficult for me to believe, but it's all possible. It's just for somebody that. And then you wonder, like, Paul Heyman said he didn't know who the masked man was, that Austin Theory was acting independently. I wonder if Paul Heyman has that same energy about the masked man when it's not working in his favor.
D
That's true.
B
You know what I mean? But then we go, okay, we have to reconfigure things. Right. So then we have Austin Theory come out. We have Bronson Reed come out. A little while after that, we have Logan Paul come out. And they were working together as a unit.
D
They were.
B
And they were doing great things.
D
And no one seems selfish in the unit. No.
B
Nope.
D
Not even Logan Paul.
B
And then Brock Lesnar comes out with Paul Heyman by his side, which was.
D
Shocking that Paul Heyman was by his side.
B
Absolutely.
D
Because it's like, isn't anybody in the vision? Like, wait, don't you work with us?
B
Unless they were like, oh, you know, it pro. To me, it would have been more controversial if Bron Breaker was still in the match. Yeah, but then Brock Lesnar wasn't really. I mean, Brock Lesnar suplex Logan Paul at one point. Like, he wasn't really working with the Vision.
D
Not at all.
B
But you know what I mean, regardless of what the plan was, maybe they're not mad at it because it didn't work. Because then Vision members start getting eliminated, L.A. knight eliminates Bronson Reed, L.A. eliminates Austin Theory.
D
It is classic Paul Heyman to be like, look, I'm a survivor and my first guy didn't survive. That doesn't mean I don't survive. I'm gonna go with my next guy.
B
True, true. But then as. As. As Vision members are getting eliminated, J uso is walking down from the crowd, and all of a sudden, La Knight finds an ally in Cody Rhodes, and they get the Beast over the top.
D
Rope, which was stunning. Unbelievable that all of a sudden, Brock Lesnar out of the Royal Rumble.
B
And you wonder if Paul Heyman ever considered that Logan Paul would be his one hope, that Logan Paul would be the last man standing. Or is Logan Paul more of a visionary than anybody really realizes? What's going on is my question.
D
I don't think Paul Heyman even knows what's going on with the Vision.
B
Probably not. Who was on the phone with Adam Pearce? Who was on the phone. Who was Paul Heyman then on the phone with?
D
Why was Paul Heyman mad when Logan Paul said they should all work together? Why was Paul Heyman mad when Adam Pearce put all of the Vision in the Royal Rumble?
B
I have no idea. I have no idea. I think he's playing hard and fast right now. And then how about the people who were stepping up to the Vision? So I think the Vision has a problem. Right. Because the Luchadors still have beef with them.
D
Yes.
B
Talking about Ray, who did? I mean, Ray was amazing for that first section of the Rumble before Obafemi decided it was time for Ray to go. Ray Penta and Dragon Lee. But at the same time, La Knight's now back. He does not like the Vision and Royce Keys showing up in a WWE ring for the first time. Somebody that people were. Were. Were highly anticipating. Somebody that I asked you about. He was on my list of potential surprises for the Royal Rumble. We got him. And one of the interactions that he had was straight up with the members of the Vision. And if you are now in a position where you don't have that Royal Rumble ticket and you have those five superstars all gunning for you and I don't. Maybe the general manager of Raw, not really. Willing to cooperate with you anymore. It's just really interesting because two weeks ago, I would have told you that Paul Heyman has everything in hand, and now it doesn't seem like there's anything in hand.
D
Yeah. When he was the one who pointed out that Adam Pierce actually put hands on Bron Breaker first and was able to get Braun Breaker's suspension lifted.
B
Yeah.
D
I thought, wow, Paul Heyman's playing check chess while everybody else is playing checkers.
B
Maybe he's not that good at chess. Maybe he's really good at checkers.
D
But I tell you what, you bring up Royce Keys, he's a force.
B
Yes. He's a powerhouse.
D
Yeah.
C
Yeah.
D
The Vision, if they have Royce Keys coming after him and they don't have great leadership within the Vision, I don't know if that's the case. Well be in some trouble.
B
I would have to imagine it said it was a demoralizing night.
D
Yeah.
B
It's a long flight back to long flight back. And it may be difficult to find leadership when you're that demoralized. Do you think that people like Jay USO and Jacob Fatu are going to be upset that Roman dumped him?
D
How could you not be?
B
I would think so.
D
Especially, I mean, this version of Jey Uso who, you know, he started his journey to WrestleMania. He started his main event Jey Uso Run. He started the Jey Uso that would become the world Heavyweight champion at the Royal Rumble last year. And all of a sudden, he gets eliminated by the big ooze.
B
Right.
D
And also sort of put in his place by the big Oose.
B
Yep. Yep.
D
Jay was having a good time, wanting to run it back. Roman gave him a wake up call.
B
Yep.
D
Jacob VA2 returns. I mean, looking untouchable. Yeah, Completely untouchable.
B
Yeah. They don't make him like him anymore. Hell, they never made him like him. Sorry.
D
But then for Roman to eliminate him.
B
That, I mean, well, it's also the reminder that I think everybody needed.
D
Mm.
B
Look at what a spectacle all these Superstars are now. But they ain't Roman Reigns. Look at how amazing all these Superstars are today. But they're not your tribal chief.
D
And that's exactly what Roman Reigns did in the Royal Rumble.
B
Who do you think? Okay, in terms of surprises, new faces that maybe we haven't seen on the WWE main roster all that much of. Between Obafemi, who? I mean, this Royal Rumble was.
D
He eliminated Brock Lesnar.
B
Incredible. For Obafemi. Between Obafemi.
D
Oh. Oba was eliminated by Oba was eliminated by Brock Lesnar. Brock Lesnar was eliminated by Cody and Jay usa. There was a lot going on in that moment. Yeah.
B
In LA night.
D
You know what I'm talking about?
B
No.
D
Yeah.
B
Because Jey USO is making his entrance. I know exactly what you're saying. Between Obafemi.
D
Yes.
B
Javon Evans.
D
Yes.
B
Royce Keys, la parka and Mr. Iguana.
D
And La Yesca. Don't forget about La Yesca.
B
Who's your standout?
D
Javon Evans. La Parka. No, I mean, it was exciting to see La Parka there. I love me some Mr. Iguana. I'm never gonna not be excited when Iguana's music hits. Yeah, it totally turned my mood around. I was down in the dumps, upset about AJ Styles career ending. Iguana's music hits. I'm back. I'm completely back. But for me, Javon Evans, he was in there for almost 41 minutes, long time the longest out of anybody in there.
B
And was wrestling in a very irresponsible way for the bouncing. I mean, your boy is bouncy.
D
Yeah, I think it was, it was Javon Evans.
B
I mean, how about that, that pop up Samoan drop that he got where he was launched? I mean, that would. Thank God that was an open air stadium, otherwise he would have hit the ceiling without question. And then Jacob just drops him. And then, then, then of course, this Randy catching him in midair and dropping him with an rko. I mean, it was incredible. You're right. Javon Evans had an incredible showing. Okay, there's that. 2. I got three questions. 2. Do you think Randy Orton is going to respond to Gunther?
D
I don't want to talk about this. I don't want to talk about this. You brought this up to me this week on Sirius xm. I came to your studio in the big city and we're talking about Gunter and we're speculating wildly and we're talking about all of the matches that Gunther could possibly have. And someone throws out the idea that maybe after AJ Styles, Guenther faces Randy Orton. And I do not want that to happen. Because if that means the end of Randy Orton, I am not ready for that.
B
What did they call Gunther?
D
The Career Killer.
B
Michael Cole said it multiple times. The Career Killer. What did Gunther do in the Royal Rumble? Who did he eliminate?
D
He eliminated Randy Orton.
B
You think Randy's gonna have a problem with that?
D
Next question.
B
Final question about the men's Royal Rumble match. Adam Pierce, Paul Heyman, who won the Battle of Fafo, Adam Pierce. Okay, okay. It was Adam Pierce won the FAFO competition. Congrats to Adam Pear. I would say congrats to Roman Reigns for winning the Royal Rumble. That's first and foremost. And we'll put our ones up. Thank you. And congrats to Adam Pierce for winning the Battle of fafo. I wish, man. Maybe we'll hit up fanatics if they could get a FAFO Winner T shirt. That would be great for Adam Pierce. I think it would be really, really good. But who knows? Maybe we'll end up with a Tops now card for Adam Pierce based on the FAFO win. You know, Tops now captures major milestones and viral moments which that was from the biggest events. You know, we saw incredible cards Last year from WrestleMania, money in the bank and Russell Palooza, just to name a few. And they always do these pre ples poster cards, you know, on top. So they they put one out for The Royal Rumble 2026. Collectors who buy the base card of this poster card will have the chance to receive Emeril Emerald Super Short print copies of the card limited to only 26. Those Emerald Cards 26 exist. This card is only available until Monday at 1:30pm Eastern. As always, make sure you're following @tops on social and sign up for notifications on tops.com for the big moment cards from the Royal Rumble and tune into Tuesday's WWE now podcast. That's this for more info and card graphics. I'm optimistic we get a big who.
D
Needed the win more? Roman Reigns or Adam Pierce?
B
Adam Pierce needed this one bad. He needed this one bad. I, I, I think Adam Pierce. It was either win this one or do a gunther. You know, just wow, just retire.
D
I mean he was down on his luck before tonight, but guess what?
B
He won the FAFO battle. Now I can only imagine that the FAFO will continue onto Monday Night Raw. But we'll be here to talk about that when it's time to talk about it. I want to talk about the Women's Royal Rumble match.
D
Let's do it.
B
But on the way there. I believe we have the winner of the Women's Royal Rumble here with us. Oh, with us here on the Royal Rumble recap. How did we get so fortunate? The winner of the 2026 Women's Royal Rumble Live. Morgan, how does it feel?
E
Words can't describe Words can't describe how it feels. I've done nine of these. I've had every position in this match. I've started it, I've ended it. I've had the record for the fastest elimination. I've shared a record for being in the ring the longest. I've had every position, runner up, but never a winner until tonight. So it feels exactly like how I thought it would.
B
And you were telling everybody, I saw you at Sneaker Con. I saw you all over Riyadh. And anytime anybody asked you about the Royal Rumble, you said you should definitely watch because I'm going to win. It's going to be my nightmare.
E
You don't do this match more than everyone else and, like, not win it, you know? And I said it. I said it weeks ago. I said 2026 is the year of the Judgment Day. I said it, I saw it, and now here it is.
D
Well, it's interesting you say that you're the Judgment Day because I. I hate to bring this up, but we did see you eliminate Raquel Rodriguez.
E
Well, you know, I know Raquel better than anyone else. And if I know Raquel, like how I know Raquel, I know that Raquel is not selfish. Raquel is already number one contender for the Women's World Championship. Now there are two members of the Judgment Day with opportunity. Raquel is going to become Women's World Champion, and I'm going to cash in my shot at WrestleMania. She's not going to be mad at me. Are you kidding me? Now there's two of us that have this amazing opportunity. She's a selfish guy.
B
We're looking at like that. We're looking at. I mean, you could believe it, but I'm looking at a photo right now of right after the elimination.
D
Maybe.
E
Maybe a little. Maybe a little taken aback by how it had went down. But my sister is not selfish. Nonetheless, all is okay. It's more opportunity for the Judgment Day. It's we one win for all. Win for one is a win for all.
B
So she looks furious. I mean, she looks furious. How did it feel?
E
How did it feel for, like 40 minutes. How long was she in that match?
A
She's tired.
E
She worked hard.
B
She did. And it's nice of you to give her her credit for doing that.
E
Yeah, always.
B
How long?
D
Sexy.
E
Are you kidding me?
B
Yeah. How long have you been envisioning being the one to point at that sign? You got that moment.
E
That's become my very first one nine years ago. No joke. Maybe I was a little bit delusional thinking that in my rookie year I'd win the Royal Rumble. But for nine whole years, every time it's rumble season, I've sat and envisioned and manifested what this victory would look and feel and taste like. And now that we're here. It's honestly so much better and sweeter than I could have ever imagined.
B
So with. With you talking about the opportunities that everybody in the Judgment Day has and obviously having full faith in Raquel, can we assume that you'll be going after the WWE Women's Championship, not the Women's World Championship?
E
You know, I can go after any title of my choosing. So, you know, I have. There's no time for me to, you know, there's no timeline on when I need to make this decision. I can make this decision whenever I want to. So I'm really going to sit and ponder it and make a very educated decision on what is best for me. And I'm not going to rush it.
B
When you heard Tiffany Stratton's music played, and I think that especially when it was down to the final three and it was you and it was Sol Ruka and it was Tiffany Stratton, I think that a lot of people probably thought, okay, well, usually when somebody who's a former champion returns in the Rumble, it's their Rumble.
E
Was there any true years ago? That was me. I returned. I was a former champion. Didn't win the Rumble.
B
You learn from your experiences maybe more than anybody on that entire roster.
D
And you never forget.
E
Ready? No, you do.
B
She plays this game in a number.
E
30, and you think you're the freshest. You think you've got it in the bag, but no, you don't. No, you don't. And I had tricks under my sleeve. Okay.
D
I remember live coming in at 30 with that Christina Aguilera gear.
B
I do, too.
D
I remember that.
B
Listen, I think that it's brilliant that you take these setbacks as people would see them and turn them into the very strategy that allows you to win the Rumble. What did you make of last Legend in that match? Because I think that's a lot. A lot of people were watching and we're probably pretty impressed.
D
Me.
E
Are you kidding me? She rocked me. I don't know that I've ever been hit that hard. But it didn't matter because I won the Rumble and not her. So she can hit me as hard as she wants. Bitch. But I won the Rumble. No, but she's. She's. She's really strong. She's really strong and intimidating. But it was no match for Liv Morgan, the greatest Royal Rumble winner.
D
There were so many time you didn't let her finish. There were so many amazing performances tonight in the real Rumble, none as amazing as yours. But one of the eliminations that stood out to me most was when you eliminated Natty. Now, this is not Natalia we're talking about. This is low key legend Natty. Yes.
E
He's a dog. Natty's a dog. If I was probably scared of anyone, it was probably Natty. That's why I saw the opportunity and I was like, we're getting this out now.
B
Now you felt good about your number going in at 14 or wherever it was. 14, right?
D
14.
B
Yeah.
E
I was like, midway through. I mean, I have no. I have no affinity for the number 14. You know what I mean? So it was what it was halfway through. You know, made my job a little bit easier. You know, I was.
B
I guess that's true.
E
Because you've been in the precious.
D
Yeah.
B
You've been in this thing very, very early.
D
Yeah.
E
You know, so I chilled. I got my. My thoughts together, got my game plan together, but no feelings towards coming in at 14. You know, it's like a random number.
B
It is very, very interesting because I think, Megan, you might have pointed this out a few weeks back, that you came in when you returned very willing to go after whatever title needed to be. Needed somebody to go after it. Meaning, like, if Raquel wanted to go after the. The. The women's championship, all good. You'll go after the tag team championship. But I would. I would think that now you don't have tag team gold on your mind anymore, that you're back into that sort of game.
E
You know what I'm thinking?
B
No, I don't.
E
You're just going to say that you think you know what I'm thinking. You don't know what I'm thinking is family. Raquel has dibs. Raquel has dibs on this women's world championship, and that is what it is. So I'm gonna sit back like I said, and I'm gonna hold my cards close to my chest until I feel like the time is right. But the judgment day is a family. I don't know what I'm gonna do. I don't know what to do. And I'm not even gonna worry about that right now. I won. I FaceTime. My man's I FaceTime.
B
How is he, by the way? How is. How is Dominic?
E
So good. He's so happy for me. He's so happy for me. He's doing great. We were on the phone and all we did was like. It was. It was incredible.
B
Yeah. Why did you eliminate Raquel at the top of the final four instead of allowing it to go down to just the two of you? You eliminated her while there was still Tiffany Stratton and Sol Ruka in the match.
E
Well, you know, she just eliminated Rhea Ripley. And I had just looked up and I see her back to me and her leaning over the top rope, and he's like, wow, this is. This is an opportunity. And like I said, Raquel is not selfish. She knows I am an opportunist. Raquel has her own opportunity. She is so down to share the wealth, and now she has wealth, and now I have wealth. Sharing the wealth in the judgment day because we are a family, and that's what the judgment day does.
B
I'll tell you what. I think you're about to have a lot more wealth because now that you've punched your ticket to WrestleMania, now that you're the 2026 Women's Royal Rumble champion.
E
You'Re of all time. Sam, I'm going to correct you every single time you. Please address me as the greatest Royal Rumble winner of all time. Because I'm never going to let you say it without saying it the way that I like.
B
Now that you are officially the greatest women's Royal Rumble winner of all time, the winners T shirt is available at WWE Shop and fanatics. Look at. Can we. Can we show her the graphic? Yeah, the women, at least. You look great.
D
Amazing.
B
Unbelievable. Yes. This is your shirt.
E
I ate that.
B
You did?
E
They had that loaded for me. It's like they knew. It's like they knew.
B
Yeah, I mean, listen, they probably had a few of them ready.
E
What does it say? Watch me.
B
It says winner. It says Royal Rumble winner. It says Liv Morgan, Roy. It says Royal Rumble winner. Hopefully somewhere it says the greatest Royal Rumble winner of all time.
E
I wonder if it's too late to send the shirt back and have them fix it.
B
Well, I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Well, it's a full body shot. It's pretty great.
D
You look amazing.
E
It doesn't say the greatest Rumble winner of all time.
B
Oh, maybe on the back we can.
D
Add that to the.
E
Maybe we'll put it on the back Sharpie or something.
B
Yeah, that's true. That's true.
E
Maybe people make another one.
B
That's smart. That's smart. I mean, listen, most women will get the one shirt. You being the greatest of all time. You get a couple.
E
Yeah, you're right. You're right.
D
You got it.
B
Sam, do you feel like you'll. You'll. You'll wear that shirt? I mean, a lot of people won't wear their own shirts, but a lot of People don't have the accomplishment of greatest Royal Rumble.
E
Yeah. I'm going to wear that shirt. You kidding me? That shirts going up in the clubhouse. We're going to have a nice display in the clubhouse. I think I'm like the first member of the Judgment Day to win a Royal Rumble. We're going to put this in a plaque and hang it in the clubhouse. Wow.
B
Hey, by the way, not to take anything away from your moment, but what did you make of the way Finn Balor closed Monday Night Raw when he attacked CM Punk?
D
Yeah.
E
I was so proud of him.
B
You were?
E
I was so proud of him. CM Punk tried to come in and tell Finn to leave the Judgment Day.
D
Are you kidding me?
E
As if CM Punk is not the most selfish man that ever existed. And then Finn did exactly what was right. He went out there and he turned on everyone.
B
What do you think Punk's problem is with Dominic? I mean, he specifically brought up Dom as if Punk. Punk brought up Dom to fine. Yeah.
E
The jealous hater. Dominic is like, more than half his age. So much younger, so much hotter, so much more accomplished, so much more respected. He's a harder worker. He's a better champion. So if I'm seeing Punk, why would I not be hating on Dominic?
D
His hair?
E
His mustache? Are you kidding me? If I'm seeing Punk, I'm totally going to be Dominic's number one hater.
B
Yeah, I mean, that.
D
That.
B
I get that. That all checks out to me.
D
He's got cooler tattoos, too.
E
No, because it's true. That's the truth. It's literally the truth. It's. It's the truth.
B
Well, Liv Morgan, right now.
E
It's the truth.
B
Yeah. No, it's the truth. Have you talked to. Have you talked. Have you talked to the Judgment Day? Have you talked to your young Roxanne Perez? Have you talked to Raquel?
E
Roxy? Yeah, I haven't seen Raquel yet, but I've seen Roxy. JD and Finn aren't here, but we've texted and I FaceTime Dominic. So I've caught up pretty much with almost everyone. I have to run into Raquel. I'll see her. I'll see you in a little bit.
B
I'm sure you're. I mean, you're both there. You'll run into.
D
Pretty busy. Too busy.
B
You just won the Royal Rumble for goodness.
D
Not only that, bro.
E
I won and I got whisked away. Like, we need you for this. This, this. This, this. Because everyone wants to talk to you. Because you're the greatest Roman of all.
D
I Time.
E
So I really like, you know, I had no time. I got whisked away. Now here I am.
D
Have you.
B
Have you thought about what kind of entrance, about what kind of gear, about what kind of statement that you're going to make in Las Vegas at WrestleMania?
E
No, that's so far away. That's so far away. I'm very, like, on the seat of my pants in the moment, how I feel. I'm not going to plan what I want for WrestleMania right now, because I'm forever evolving and I'm forever changing. And, you know, tomorrow I'll probably want something different. The day after that, I'm probably going to want something different. So I'm going to wait it out a little bit and see. See my vibe.
B
We are looking at this photo right now.
E
I mean, I worked so hard. Look at my ponytail. You kidding me? Look at that.
B
I know you really did. You really did work hard. But this. This feels like on your face. And I'm like, you pointed out, I am not in your brain. I do not know how you or what you think. However, it would appear that this is the moment that you've realized you did it. You pulled it off. You finally accomplished this one goal that you had never accomplished. And look at right what is right over your shoulder. I'm not talking about that cheapskate Danilo. I'm talking about what's right behind Danilo, and that's that WrestleMania sign that it's your destiny.
E
So many people want to point to that sign, but a lot of times you never get the chance to. Or you point to it, but it's not yours and you're not going, right? I pointed to it because I'm going. It's mine. And if I was everyone in the back, I would be terrified because they're all done for. Liv Morgan is a Royal Rumble winner and is going to WrestleMania to choose an opponent of her choice. Everyone is done for.
B
I believe you live, Liv, you've worked very hard for this. You have considered and thought of every moment. I also love that your journey has been so well documented over the years. Everybody knows how much you did to get here. Everybody knows how hard you work, and everybody knows that you're like a dog with a bone right now. And that's a dangerous trying to get.
E
Me to break because I'm not going to break. I'm too happy. I too happy to break right now. There is no.
D
Yeah.
E
You know, it's crazy ride, guys. It was a crazy ride. We finally did it. Runner up two years In a row.
D
Yeah.
E
It's like a bridesmaid. A bridesmaid. It's never the bride. Now I'm a bride and I'm like there ever was.
B
And you know what? What if we got a wedding at WrestleMania, you and Dominic. It would be the greatest wrestling wedding of all time.
D
It would.
B
A lot of people say, A lot of people say, not just me, that you guys are this generation's Randy and Liz. I just want to put that out there.
E
It's hard to argue. I think we're actually better.
B
I do too.
E
But, you know, we'll see.
B
I can't wait to find out. Congratulations, Liv Morgan, officially now the greatest women's Royal Rumble winner of all time. And thank you so much for being so generous with your time with us.
E
Thank you guys. Have a good night. I know I will.
B
So, yeah. Congratulations and thank you to live Morgan. Who was. Was she your pick as well? She was my pick.
D
She was my pick.
B
So it was both of our picks. So that's double points.
D
The greatest Royal Rumble winner of all.
B
Time.
D
I was waiting for you to do that.
B

D
There's so much to get into from the Royal Rumble match.
B
So much to get into. I mean a lot of great performances from a lot of different women. Yeah, I felt like there were multiple women who realized the opportunity that they had and took full advantage of it. And I mean started from the top. I love and I called it, but I also loved when Charlotte Flair came out. I said, oh my gosh, Alexa Bliss gonna be number two. And you said, stop cheating. As if I was, like, looking at some kind of advanced feed, even though we were watching a live feed.
D
Oh, I thought you were on Twitter and someone was live twee it. And then suddenly were just spoiling everything for me. Because as soon as I saw Charlotte was entering number one, I said, okay. In the number two position. I either want.
B
I know.
D
Alexa Bliss or. Or Becky Lynch.
B
It's always Becky Lynch. Whenever you see Charlotte, they always want Becky. Any context where you could have Charlotte versus Becky Lynch?
D
I mean, do you blame me?
B
No.
D
It's magical.
B
And if anybody needed proof of it, we got it in the Rumble. Yeah, we got Charlotte and Becky in the Rumble.
D
I was thrilled about that.
B
But it was. It was Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss testing that friendship together at 1 and 2.
D
That's how they kind of got like, you know, Charlotte showed her, hey, look who's boss. And then they laughed about it. They did their heart hands. But then Alexa put Charlotte in the sisters Abigail and is like, oh, wait, I can play that game as well. The heart hands. And we're all good. But they just had to remind everybody and each other what they're each capable of. Yeah.
B
These are two main event singles stars that happen to be in a tag team together.
D
That's right.
B
And it's a miracle that they found the chemistry that allows them to stay in the tag team and haven't, like, split up and allowed ego to chase them towards singles championships.
D
I will say it was interesting when it was just the two of them in the ring. I was waiting to see how the audience would react. We got a lot of Lexi chants.
B
People love Alexa Bliss. They do, you know, and they love to. You know, there's something about Charlotte where it's like everything she says about herself is true, but there are people that will just never like that because she's too good. I really think that that's what it is. Too many gifts. People don't like too many gifts because we don't.
D
She really does have it all. Yeah.
B
We don't have that many gifts. I get jealous. You know what I mean? That's what I think. That's what it is. But you had early on surprise participants coming in from, like, nxt. We saw Lola Vice.
E
Yeah.
B
Which was amazing. Jordan Grace from smackdown coming in. And.
D
And this wasn't her first Royal Rumble, but this was her first Royal Rumble as a member of the smackdown roster.
B
It's a full on WWE Superstar.
D
You bet.
B
You bet. And she came in and quickly eliminated, like, three different People again, going back to Charlotte and Becky and seeing that play itself out and this sort of rivalry that I think will go on forever and ever and all of time.
D
Let it never end.
B
Yes.
D
But right when Becky entered was when Charlotte had accidentally dumped Alexa Bliss over the top rope.
B
Okay, so how. Well, Alexa was on the apron, so Charlotte didn't technically dump Dumper, but she nudged her pretty hard. Listen, do I think that Charlotte specifically went out and said, I want to eliminate Alexa Bliss? I would say probably not. I mean, why wouldn't you, at that point in the match, want to have somebody watching your back a little bit? All that said, I don't think she felt bad about it.
D
Did you get any vibes from Hogan Savage 89?
B
No. You mean lust in your eyes? No, no, I would love to see it.
D
Okay.
B
Because they have a very mega powers thing about.
D
Yeah, they do.
B
I mean, that's a great point of reference, because it really is. Like, can you imagine? These two forces came together and it actually worked.
D
It was an accident, I guess.
B
Right?
D
Sure.
B
Right. Yeah, Right. And the mega powers. It took him a while to explode, you know, is a lot of the little things. It wasn't just, like, something came and shattered the thing. It was. It was one of those little. You know when a pebble hits your windshield and you go, I don't need to get that taken care of. And then, like, two weeks later, you look at the crack and you're like, I think that's a little bigger than I remember it, but I don't think so. And over the course of months, you just don't do anything. And then a season goes by, and your whole thing is, like, cut in half because it's just spiderwebbed and spiderwebbed all the way through. That's sometimes how these super teams disintegrate.
D
So today was just the pebble.
B
I'm not saying that they're breaking up. You're negative.
E
I'm not negative.
D
It's just kind of hard to believe that it was on accident.
B
Well, listen, it's the Royal Rumble. Things are going to happen. I still. And look, the tag team division is about to get a lot more competitive.
D
About to explode.
B
I mean, I thought they were gonna have to send an emergency crew because of the noise that I made when I realized. I mean, forget about, like. I can't believe it. The bloodline is back. Tribal Chief is back. We're running it back to 2022, 2023. No, no, no, no, no. We're running it back to Brie Mode.
E
Brie Mode.
D
Pop of the night.
B
I mean, when that came on, I was like, I can't believe it. I can't believe it. You don't understand. I went through a whole era of my wrestling fandom where I was Bremo'd out all the time, to see. To see Bri come back and the Belly, because Nikki Bell is incredible. Incredible. But to see Twin magic strike again, to see the Bellas back together, the Bellas, who started this whole thing, this whole thing that everybody's enjoying now. Thank you, Bellas, is what you should be saying. Not just Nikki, but Bri Mode, too. Because we stay in Bri mode, okay? And that's why you're right. Pop of the night. Did you hear them go nuts when they realized that Bri was back?
D
I went nuts. You went nuts?
B
Yeah. That was one of those things that people were like, well, I guess we just got Nikki. But Nikki's incredible. Nikki's a Hall of Famer, with or without her sister. Nikki's a Hall of Famer, but she also happens to have a Hall of Fame twin sister that I'd love to see in action. I mean, I lived. There was a good year of my life that I was in Brie mode the entire time.
D
Yeah, pull up that picture. Do we have it. Do we have the picture of. Of Sam? Oh, there he is. Fresh hair and all. Bri Mode.
B
You know where that is?
D
Where?
B
My living room. I just have a big. No, that's WrestleMania 31. I'm in the crowd there, and matter of fact, how about a little flex for myself? All right, Sitting down next to me on my left. There you go. That's Maria Menounos, Kevin Undergaro. Who do you think I was hanging with? That's kind of how I roll.
D
Drop, name drop.
B
But my arms were like that because Randy Orton was making his entrance. I had my orange sunglasses on.
D
Big professional over here.
B
Randy Orton's making his entrance. Didn't Gunther just say, you are on the wrong side of the barricade?
D
I don't know. You call yourself the last professional broadcaster, and there you are, Brimo. T shirt, just marking out in the crowd.
B
I'm glad this picture exists, because I think, you know, it'd be very convenient. You're gonna hear a lot of people, they're gonna hear that Brie pop, and they're gonna go like, oh, yeah, I love Bremo, too. I'm like, okay, good. Show me the receipts, because I got mine. I got my receipts.
D
First thing you do when you go Home.
B
By the way, that picture that I am digging up that shirt. You know why that's such a good picture?
D
Why?
B
That was on WWE.com. that was a big deal to me back then. They put that on WWE.com saying, look at the great fans we have. They stay in Bri mode all the time. And they do. And by the way, that stadium where they can do the super bowl, wow. There you go. It all comes.
D
It's kind of crazy because a couple of months ago, Nikki Bella said that that Sam Roberts got a glow up. And now I get what she was saying.
B
I look great there. Well, look, I guess as long as I look better now, I'll accept it. It was a compliment that you just gave me.
E
Yeah.
D
He said, you look better now than you did then. Didn't say, you look good now. But, hey, Nikki Bella said you got a glow up.
B
Take it you're putting words in Nikki Bella's mouth.
D
She said.
B
She said as a compliment. You make it sound horrible, but you're negative, and people know that. Not negative, because you think you could give people kidneys and then treat everybody else however you want. That's your whole thing. You're like, once I give a kidney, I could treat people like dirt. That's what I think that you believe.
D
Strategy, man. You know, chess. While everybody else is playing checkers.
B
That's right. You're just sitting there post operation going, this is gonna buy me years. Years.
D
That's why I did it, you know?
B
No, it's smart. It's actually really, really brilliant. Speaking of brilliant, coming out at the very end, Tiffany Stratton making her big return. You know, we were just talking about those Tiffany Stratton T shirts that are available now. Were you happy to see Tiffy time?
D
Thrilled. And I was thrilled to see just the star power at the end of the Women's Royal Rumble. You have Sol Ruka.
B
Yes.
D
Tiffany Stratton, Liv Morgan. You talk about athleticism.
B
Oh, and again, a big spotlight for Sol Ruka. What an amazing thing to be in a position that, by the way, Liv Morgan has been in before, where it's like, oh, my God, what if. I think. I think Soul Ruka could win. What if she won, like, when the three women were out there on the apron? And so Ruka has figured out how to make her body do all kinds of sorts of different things for a. For an incredible offense, like she could have won that match.
D
I also just want to say the women's gear tonight was just on another level. Yeah. I mean, even like the way Sol Ruka figured out how to have that gear match, you know, what she typically wears and that the whole vibe that she gives off. Same thing with Tiffany Stratton. I mean, you can go up and down the roster.
B
That's right.
D
I thought the gear was phenomenal.
B
I did too. I agree with you. I absolutely agree with you. Yeah, I think it was an amazing showing for Sol Ruka. I was happy to see JC Jane get some love in there, I thought. I mean, really, if you want to talk about MVPs, Alba Fire really showed her worth. Alba Fire.
D
Everybody needs a fan favorite spot in the women's Royal Rumble was Alba Fire.
B
When she was on all fours.
D
Yes. Moving.
B
That was the part that made it just genius. When she starts crawling so that Chelsea could get to the. To get away from the action, I was like, I wish I had an Alba Fire in my life.
D
Yeah, we all need one. We do put her body on the line for Chelsea.
B
But that's what makes and Chelsea trying to befriend literally everyone, just whoever was about to beat her up. Chelsea said, what if we team up? She went to the Judgment Day and said, let's do the four of us. She went up to Rhea Ripley and was like, you could be in the Secret Service. Like, it was insane. Also insane that Rhea Ripley, I mean, wasn't in the final three.
D
Nuts.
B
Nuts.
D
Raquel Rodriguez eliminates Rhea Ripley. Right. And then Liv Morgan stabs Raquel in the back.
B
That's right. Dumps her. Dumps her. But she said she won't have a problem with that. I thought Natty was incredible in this.
D
Not just Natty. Low key legend.
B
Natty Low key legend. Natty survived in that rumble for a long time and got some really important eliminations. Really, really cleared the field of people who, honestly, I don't even know if they should have been in the rumble to begin with.
D
I don't know about that.
B
Nice to see that. Nice to see that.
D
You know, there, there is. There is some legal debate going on about this Royal Rumble. You see, Becky lynch was told by her lawyers that she would be entering at number 29. Turns out she was entering at number nine. So that lawyers of the rumble is under protest.
B
It's a random entry.
D
It's not random when you're the greatest female wrestler of all time.
B
No, it's still random. Even if you were the greatest female wrestler of all time, according to Paul.
D
Heyman, is not random. It's a rigged. And look how so now I think there's an investigation.
B
Look How Paul Heyman's night went.
D
Didn't go great.
B
Not great. Not. Honestly. I think you could say Becky Lynch's night didn't go terrifically.
D
It didn't, but she did. She did eliminate Maxine.
B
She probably really felt great about that.
D
She was moody, and Maxine keeps saying, oh, well, I beat Becky. So now all of that is.
B
Did you find her to be mid as well?
E
Who?
B
Maxine. Mid.
D
Mid tonight.
B
Yeah.
D
I mean, she got eliminated by Becky.
B
So I guess that says. All that says what you needed to say.
D
I mean, if you ask Natty, Natty probably thinks she was. She was mid.
B
Liv Morgan finally winning this thing. We just talked to her. It's been a long time coming.
D
Yes, it has. I mean, she was the runner up twice. And I mean, just to see Liv Morgan and Sam, we've. We've followed her career for so long from, you know, the minute she won the money in the bank briefcase, it seemed like things started to change for Liv Morgan. But you think back to. To that Liv Morgan cashing in that night, to this Liv Morgan. I mean, we are talking about two totally different stratospheres.
B
Absolutely.
D
Different stratospheres. And I really can't wait to see what she does at WrestleMania, which title she goes after and the impact that.
B
She has and who's holding those titles.
D
But before we move on, just real quick, we gotta give some love to Lash Legend.
B
Oh, my God. Give all the love to Lash Legend. She was unbelievable. Not just Bully Baby, not just the number of eliminations, but the people that Last Legend was eliminating. Like, it was making people go, what the hell is going on? Last Legend is like, forget about this. This sort of aura of one day. You better watch her. Because one day it's like, well, I think we're at the day.
D
We are.
B
I think we got there.
D
Yeah. And, you know, Nia Jax, who is her tag team partner, for a while it was like, you know, Nya is probably the favorite in any Royal Rumble because of size alone. And now anytime you go into a battle royal, anytime you go into Royal Rumble, everybody's looking at Lash Legend a little bit differently.
B
Yeah. Because the emphasis was put on bully instead of bougie.
D
That's right. Oh, also, yes. Kairi Sane accidentally eliminated Asuka.
B
Oh, that's gonna be tough.
D
So tough.
B
And then it wasn't. And then for what? She got eliminated right after that.
D
I know. I'm a little nervous for Kyrie. I know that Kyrie's accepted her role as, like, I'm here to help Asuka, but she gets yelled at a lot.
B
Yeah, I don't know if they're on the charter jet back, but that's gonna be about 20 hours of screaming.
D
It's not going to be good.
B
No, it's going to be really, really bad. Why wasn't AJ Styles in the men's Royal Rumble match?
D
Because AJ Styles is retired.
B
Oh, that's right. I forgot.
D
Why is that funny?
B
Just because you were so upset by it.
D
Yeah, I'm upset by it. It was just like the slow realization that AJ Styles career was ending over the last two weeks has been really hard to comprehend. It's been really hard to wrap my head around. It's been really hard to grasp. When AJ got off the phone with his wife and said, hey, I'm gonna, I'm gonna do this. I'm going to take on Gunter and I'm going to put my career on the line. I thought it was a stupid decision for AJ to do that, but I thought, there's no way something's gonna happen. There'll be some sort of schmazz. Maybe someone will come out and you'll end in a disqualification. But AJ's career is not ending. But then he shows up on smackdown, and we find out that he has a match at Saturday night's main event against Shinsuke Nakamura. And I go, oh, no.
B
Are you one of these, Are you one of these asterisks, people that think because he put his gloves back on that, well, he's not really retiring? It's still good. It's still good.
D
No. Especially after we, we, we talked to Gunter just a couple minutes ago on this show. It's done.
E
Wow.
B
Wow. I wonder where the glove thing will lead. I wonder if we see, you know, AJ Styles in any capacity in the WWE again. I mean, at some point we're gonna have to sit down, have a real conversation about that guy's career. Not just what he did for the last 10 years in WWE, but what he did in Japan before that, what he did for all those years. I mean, building TNA before that. I mean, you know, AJ Styles got his start just as WCW was ending. AJ Styles was like one of the young guys, the next class of wrestlers. Coming up on Nitro and then had to deal with the fact that it's like, oh, yeah, I can't wait to see your next match. I don't know where I'm going to see it, though, because Nitro doesn't exist anymore. You know, he was one of those young guys that had to figure out what's next? And build a path for himself. And he did, to the point that he became one of the best professional wrestlers on the planet. And we've seen all of his matches.
D
I'm happy that it has a little bit of a storybook ending with AJ's career ending the Royal Rumble.
B
You mean because it, like, because you fall asleep like a bedtime story?
D
No, Sam. Oh, not like that. But because 10 years ago, he debuted in WWE at the Royal Rumble, and.
B
He wore the same colors tonight. So I like that he wore the same color. He wore the same colors tonight that he wore at the 2016 Royal Rumble when that word phenomenal flashed across the Tron for the first time. This is one of those that I think we got to sleep on. And I think. I think on Monday night's Raw recap WWE now podcast, we'll probably talk a lot more about AJ Styles.
D
I don't think it set in for a lot of wrestling fans.
B
No. And I don't think it will for a little bit. I also think, man, it was tough because, like, I feel like both Royal Rumble matches kind of ended on a high. Like, definitely Roman Reigns winning. I think Live Morgan, even though she's got that villainous side of her, people were happy.
D
Yeah. To see Live Morgan win on the journey with her.
B
But, I mean, man, in between, they just did bummer matches in between the two Royal Rumbles. First seeing AJ Styles retired, and it wasn't even the old school pro wrestling sleeper hold. One, two, three. It was like the ufc. Oh, no, he's out. One arm up. He's gone. He's not on this planet right now. It's over. And then while we were moping from that, Sami Zayn's going to be the little engine that could catches two claymores. The Last one, Drew McIntyre says, Look at me in the eyes, and then claymores his head off and pins him. 1, 2, 3. As if to say, like, hey, look at. Look at me right in the eyes, Sammy, I'm going to claymore your head off. He said at one point in the match, he was yelling at him to stay down. Think about your son, and stay down.
D
When he said, think about your son. Like, Drew's not afraid to go there.
B
No, but you know what? Sami Zayn brought his son in into the conversation. He explained his motivation, and Drew is going to use that against you every time. And now that Sammy has been taken out, I don't think Sammy comes back and asks for a rematch. Maybe he will, but I don't think so. Now that, that Cody did not win that Royal Rumble, it's going to be very interesting to see. It feels like Drew is very much in control where I think when he first won that title, people assumed, ah, you'll hold it for a little bit and then they'll, you know, get it off him and do this and do that. It doesn't feel like that right now.
D
Not at all.
B
Feels like Drew is very much in control of this reign and he wants this reign to be the reign that he felt he was owed for a long time.
D
And don't think for a second that Drew doesn't know. That's what other people, what we're saying.
B
He knows everything. I mean, are you kidding me? Twitter fingers over here. He stays on the Internet.
D
Yeah.
B
He reads everything. He's told me multiple times. He'll come up to me and go, you know what you were saying on your podcast? And I'll go, you're not supposed to be listening to that. I'm terrified of you. Look at the shoulders on you. I talk because I don't have arms like that. You know what I mean?
D
Yeah. You better watch what you say.
B
I know. I think he's great. Drew McIntyre, by the way.
D
Fantastic.
B
The best.
D
Yeah.
B
The simple best.
D
As long as he doesn't say anything about my kids, we're good.
B
We're good. Can you imagine if he ends up fighting Roman reigns at WrestleMania? Oh, my God. Listen, listen.
