What is Logan Paul doing? CM Punk has a busy first night as World Heavyweight Champion. Dominik Mysterio has a very, very busy night too. We learned the first two matches in the John Cena. The last time is now tournament. Sheamus joins us on the show. And so much more. This is the Raw recap of WWE and Fanatics original production. I didn't think, Megan Morant, that Logan Paul had it in him to send us on an emotional roller coaster. Not to take anything away from Logan Paul. Not to say that there's anything he's not capable of, but to say, you know Logan Paul when, hey, yo, whatever his music is, when it plays, you're gonna boo.

[Megan Morant]

Doesn't sound anything like his music.

[Sam Roberts]

Well, I know. I don't know CM Punk doesn't know his music. I don't know his music. But you boo when you hear his music. You boo when you see his face. You boo Logan Paul. That's what you do, don't you?

[Megan Morant]

You do always. You have to.

You have to. But somehow, over the course of one episode of Monday Night Raw, it was like, oh, my gosh, is there something heroic about this Logan Paul? I mean, we start Monday Night Raw, CM Punk comes out there and he's. And he's addressing the audience for the first time really, as WWE World Heavyweight Champion. You know, he, he. He obviously had it at Saturday night's main event. He had it for three minutes at SummerSlam. But this is the first time he's been able to sleep for a night, wake up the next morning, still have the title, put it over his shoulder, and walk onto a television show with it being his show because he is the World Heavyweight Champion.

[Megan Morant]

This is the beginning of, of The CM Punk World Heavyweight title ring.

[Sam Roberts]

That's right. A special thing. It's a special thing.

[Megan Morant]

Especially because two years ago.

[Sam Roberts]

Impossible.

[Megan Morant]

Yes.

And it was one of those things we would have speculated on two years ago. Oh, can you imagine if he ever got to be champion?

[Megan Morant]

We'll never get there.

Right, right. And we're here. We're here. So he thanks his wife, he thanks the fans, he thanks Jay USO for an incredible match. And I know a lot of people were waiting to see what the J. USO situation was going to be on Monday Night Raw, and then he gets.

[Megan Morant]

Very disrespectful to Seth Rollins.

[Sam Roberts]

The swing.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah.

[Sam Roberts]

I mean, of all.

[Megan Morant]

It was pretty funny. I liked it.

[Sam Roberts]

It was very funny because, you know, so that swing when. When Punk was swinging the title, lassoing it in the air over his head, that's maybe the most important moment that Seth Rollins has ever had with the WWE Championship. The swing that he had over his head after the heist of the century when he. When he. When he won the title at WrestleMania 31, cashing in on Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. I mean, it. It. It changed everything in that moment, it defined Seth Rollins. And CM Punk wants to take this moment for himself because he said the. That snake in the grass isn't here. But if Seth does decide to show up. If Seth does heal up, he'll put him right back on the couch, which is. You're right. Disrespectful is the word.

[Megan Morant]

Yes. But given what Seth Rollins did to CM Punk at SummerSlam with the ruse of the century, ca.

[Sam Roberts]

No, you're right. You're right, you're right. There's no love lost between the two of them. And like, even before SummerSlam. Yeah. Right. I mean, these two have. Have hated each other. Seth would even, I believe, is maybe the first episode of Raw. Recap. Earlier this year, when Seth was on. Wasn't he the first guest? I want to say he was, yeah. And he said. I think it was your question. No, Roman and I don't get along, but we're like brothers. I hate CM Punk, Hate CM Punk. And I don't think that feeling's ever gone away, but I don't think CM Punk feels any differently about Seth Rollins. But regardless, it's. It's not his problem. He goes over the lists of people that he's ready to defend the title against, and, I mean, it's everybody. He said some of them are people he wants to punch in the face, like Bronson Reed, Bron Breaker, Paul Heyman, Dominic Mysterio, which, I mean, speaking of disrespectful, felt totally unnecessary. Everybody tonight was coming for Domino. That's when you know you've really made it. That's when you know you're successful.

[Megan Morant]

He just has a way of getting under people's skin. Everybody's coming from does have a punchable face.

[Sam Roberts]

I mean, it's very handsome face. Still punchable because of the mustache.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah.

Okay, well, I mean, what is that? I think that's in the Art of War. First they. First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win. That's the path that Dominik Mysterio is on. But regardless, we'll get to Dominic Mysterio.

Okay?

We're talking about cm, Meghan. I'm trying to talk about CM Punk. Okay, Would you stop interrupting me? So he's talking about all the people that could deserve shots. He brings up Sheamus name who we'll have on the show later. He brings up J.D.

[Megan Morant]

Mcdonough Balor.

[Sam Roberts]

And I love that he's bringing up names like this. I love the idea of seeing, like, the idea of seeing a Finn Balor vs. CM Punk match. The idea of seeing a JD McDonough vs. CM Punk world heavyweight title match. AJ Styles, he brings up, you know, John Cena. He brings up again. I mean, he wants it. He wants it all and good for Punk. This is the moment that he's been waiting for. But just as he's saying that, he'll put it up against anyone who deserves it. That music that I hit Pitch Perfect a moment ago starts to play, and here comes Logan Paul.

[Megan Morant]

And the first thing I was thinking was, I think last week we sat in the studio and I said to you, we haven't seen Logan Paul in a long time.

[Sam Roberts]

Yeah. And I think it's since the Cena match in Paris. Yeah. And I was like, yeah, that is. That is true. We haven't seen him in a while.

[Megan Morant]

But tucked it away and then I forgot about it.

[Sam Roberts]

Right. And then.

[Megan Morant]

Until the music hit.

[Sam Roberts]

Exactly. It's out of sight, out of mind. But it really was. It really was a game changer for sure when Logan Paul came out. And it's so interesting with Logan Paul because he just, like, floats between brands entirely. Like, there's nothing that's sort of off limits for Logan Paul. He just shows up when it's time for Logan Paul to show up. Whenever there's a moment that can be ruined.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah.

[Sam Roberts]

That's when Logan Paul shows up to.

[Megan Morant]

Do the rules apply to everybody else, and Logan Paul has his own set of rules.

[Sam Roberts]

Right? And then Logan Paul finds, like, the most buzzworthy person and shows up and goes, see, I'm the reason why everybody's talking about this. And it's like, you sure it has nothing to do with CM Punk? Nothing to do with CM Punk? Well, just as I go, like any. Just as Logan Paul is calling CM Punk a Honda Civic with 270,000 miles on it, which is not the greatest automobile comparison to make, I am thinking, like, man, I didn't even really think about Logan Paul versus CM Punk. But especially when you think about, like, the foundation of both of these two as WWE Superstars and who CM Punk is and who he was and the way he came up and how he's the guy that was never supposed to make it, and he had to fight and scratch to get everything, and he had to earn absolutely every single opportunity that he ever got. He had to leave everybody with no choice, which is the opposite of the road that Logan Paul has been on. Logan Paul is an incredibly gifted person who also happens to work very hard. I'm sure we don't see it, but I'm sure he works very hard. But immediately, you know, from the time he expressed interest in being in wwe, it was like, yeah, we'd love to have you. We'll put you on this pedestal. That pedestal. That's not the road that CM Punk took. So I'm getting interested in this sort of dichotomy.

[Megan Morant]

But at the same time, to Logan Paul's credit, he has done very well in every position that he's been in.

[Sam Roberts]

Well, yet the result is the result.

[Megan Morant]

Yes.

[Sam Roberts]

The Method is different.

[Megan Morant]

Yes.

[Sam Roberts]

Right. The. How. How he got there is different. And. And because the method is different, that presents to me two completely different philosophies on all of this, which, to me, always makes for the most interesting stories.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah. But I mean, the different. The huge difference is, like, Logan Paul, even though he's. He's just been placed where he is, he feels as though he's earned it.

[Sam Roberts]

Logan feels 100%.

[Megan Morant]

Oh, yeah, he's earned it.

[Sam Roberts]

Oh, 100%. And it's interesting, too, because Punk knows.

[Megan Morant]

That he's earned it.

[Sam Roberts]

Yeah. But it wasn't that long ago that there were those people. It wasn't the fans, but there were those people that looked at CM Punk going, you're not one of us. You'll never be a world champion in wwe. You're just not cut from that type of cloth. The same way now that's out the window. But there are still those that look at Logan Paul and say, you're not a wrestler. You're not one of us. Like, there is this sort of completely different outsider mentality that I think does bring out the best in certain people, and that probably is that result that you're talking about. And that might be the. The commonality between Logan Paul and CM Punk. Because I started to feel like, oh, maybe there's something admirable about this Logan Paul because he gets, you know, the vision comes out, and they say, tell Logan Paul, get the hell out of the ring. You know, Bronson Reed pinned Roman Reigns, Bron Breakker is the future of WrestleMania. Like, we're next.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah. And Paul Heyman said, I see a bitch without an owner.

[Sam Roberts]

That's what he called Logan Paul.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah. He called CM Punk a king without a crown and Logan Paul a bitch without an order.

[Sam Roberts]

He said that. And you're just quoting the television.

[Megan Morant]

That's right.

[Sam Roberts]

That's all that is. But he did say that, and that's not kind at all. He said, get out of the ring. And usually Logan Paul doesn't take well to sort of direct orders, but he.

[Megan Morant]

Looked around and said, you know what? That's probably a good idea.

[Sam Roberts]

Yeah, I don't want to do that. So it was when CM Punk said, you're either fighting with me or you got to get out of the ring. And for a second, I was like, now that could be interesting. CM Punk and Logan Paul fighting on the same side because they don't like the way this Vision is going. And then Logan thought better of it and go, okay, well, then I'm. I'm leaving. Fight or Flight kicked in, of course. Bron Breaker knocks him down. And then the Vision gets in the ring, and that's when Logan Paul steps up and he does eat a Tsunami. But with the help of CM Punk and a chair, they chase off the Vision. And all of a sudden, even though Logan Paul got crushed by that tsunami, there is still that. That lack of a better term vision of CM Punk and Logan Paul together. And the fact that this has happened to Logan Paul all of a sudden because Logan Paul got back in the ring, it's an honorable thing to do because he took a tsunami. It's a sympathetic position to be in. And all of a sudden you're like, is Logan Paul gonna be somebody I cheer for? Is Logan Paul gonna be, like, a good guy here? So you flash forward, you go through all this drama with Jey uso, which by the way I will never understand a Jay USO hater as long as I live. I will never understand these people that are like, oh, it's time for something else. Did you. I mean, do you watch? Did you see the whole building?

[Megan Morant]

I saw.

[Sam Roberts]

It was like. It was one organism.

[Megan Morant]

State of New Mexico.

[Sam Roberts]

New Mexico, the whole state. He got every single person.

[Megan Morant]

They're all eating.

[Sam Roberts]

Yeah.

[Megan Morant]

They were all excited for Jay usa.

[Sam Roberts]

Jesse Pinkman was out there. Everybody, everybody, they were going nuts for him. I'm like, this is. This is it. And J just breaking it down and saying, everybody has been in my ear. Guess what?

[Megan Morant]

I don't care.

[Sam Roberts]

I'm done with it now. I'm just going to follow what I think is right. And what I think is right is fighting with CM Punk against the Vision.

[Megan Morant]

And then Paul Heyman tries to get in his head.

[Sam Roberts]

Yes, he did. And Paul Heyman knows what he's doing with this Jey uso. They have history.

[Megan Morant]

Yes. And he's like playing weird mind games saying that he agrees with Jay, trying to hype Jay up. I don't trust him for a second.

[Sam Roberts]

That's not what your tribal chief would do, man. I don't care what Roman Reigns would do. That's when it's like, yeah, that's the Jay USO that you're looking to break through all this nonsense and be on top of his game. That's the Jay uso. That's the best Jey uso. That's the Jey uso that gets the reaction that he got. That's the Jey uso that gets the hot tag from CM Punk in this match. And everybody goes nuts for him when he gets in the ring. So the match ends in a double countdown. And now you've got, you know, Jey uso getting his, you know what? Kicked by the Vision. CM Punk gets in there with a chair once again, the Vision. The Vision are highly indestructible, but those chairs are made of kryptonite. The second somebody shows up with a chair, the Vision's like, no, I'm out. Except tonight they figured out we could fight fire with fire. They got chairs of their own. That's when Logan Paul shows up again. And now he's by CM Punk's side. And I go, oh, my goodness.

[Megan Morant]

I'm thinking back to the beginning of the show, right? I'm thinking, oh, my gosh, Logan Paul's going to save the day. Like, the idea side with Jay USO and CM Punk and the Vision are going to be.

[Sam Roberts]

And all of a sudden, I'm like, CM Punk and Logan Paul versus Bron Breaker and Bronson Reed. Like, the match that feels like a WCW Lethal Lottery match, that makes no sense at all, but somehow I want to see it.

[Megan Morant]

And you know, this is the real Logan Paul, too, because he has what Logan Paul always has, which are brass.

[Sam Roberts]

Knuckles, except then he turns and he uses the brass knuckles on Punk. And you're like, he got me. He got me. And he did get me. They get you.

[Megan Morant]

He got me.

[Sam Roberts]

Yeah, he got me, too. He got me, too. I had my hopes up. He got me, too. And then, I don't know. See, it's not even like this was a master plan. Like, you could see Paul Heyman is pushing the vision back, but he tells them, if you could hear him. If Logan. If he hits me, kill him. If he hits me, kill him. And Logan Paul is looking down. And you don't know if Logan Paul is looking down. He took out CM Punk because he feels like he should be the world heavyweight champion or if he's helping the vision or if he sees a political play that's being moved. Because keep in mind, the reason that Logan Paul is successful in every position that he's in, which you astutely pointed out, is because, I mean, he has. He's. He has no scruples. He'll just figure out which. He follows his own rulebook, and he follows his own rulebook and just looks at what the winning side might be and kind of leans over to that side. Which reminds me of somebody that we both know. Paul Heyman, Mr. Heyman himself. He hands Paul Heyman. And here's the thing. This is a very important thing. Paul Heyman said this to Jey USO earlier in the night. He said that, I have kept these guys at bay for two weeks. I have stopped them for the last two weeks. We're done with that. Now. I don't think I would. I don't think I would. But I don't think I'd hold up for many workouts. However, before we get into Dominic, I gotta ask you, Seamus. The. The news just broke. I. I mean it, it. It busted my bracket already that I had already crafted. But of course, like two nights ago, we find out this 16 man tournament is going to go down over the next however many weeks to determine who is facing John Cena in that final match. Seamus, your name was. Has been brought up amongst people like me for, for months now in terms of who are those people that could get a match with John Cena on this final run. The idea that you're in this tournament, the idea that the possibility is there for you to have John Cena's final match. How. How meaningful to you is that? And what would it be like for you to be able to wrestle John Cena at this phase in the game?

[Sheamus]

I think it's very meaningful. Obviously we go back to 2009. We had that match of TLC. When I shocked the world, became one of the fastest ever WWE World Heavyweight Champions by beating them, putting them through a table, you know, like that itself launched my career to a whole new level and put me on the map right away. I remember like, it was like, must have been a thousand interviews I did. No one expected me to win that. And I obviously, like, I'd love to repay the favor, you know, for like what, what was done for me, like the opportunity to face him, beat him. But like I loved it like full circle. Like given the match he truly deserves on the way out on his last match. I was retirement year. I think that'd be incredible. I just, you know, it's like I learned a lot from John. I learned an awful lot really, really quickly. I was looking to get into that position. When you get in that position, you've got to make sure you take the. Make the best of it. And that's exactly what it did. We wrestled pretty much every single night on live events around the road, five days a week. And it was, it really was a baptism of fireball. Yeah, I've taken two W titles off John and what better way for him to send him off with the banger of all bangers. The goats. The goat of all goats goes out with a, with the banger of all bangers. How about that for a line, mate? Just, just sent him off into the sunset with the greatest match he's ever had.

[Sam Roberts]

I mean, it would be amazing. And I think that it's, it's a great point you bring up because I think that, you know, people have been watching you for so long, I think they might forget or maybe they weren't watching or maybe they weren't around. But I certainly was watching when you first came on the scene. I certainly was watching when you first won the WWE Championship. And you, you, you can't overstate that. Nobody thought you were going to win. It seemed like you were just one of these big guys that was being built for John Cena to beat and move on to the next guy. John Cena talks about opportunities and the opportunities that he had, but throughout his career, I think he provided opportunities to people like you and a lot of others. When you think about how early you were in the game when you got that victory versus the person that you are now, the person that's capable of doing what you are now, is it even more mind boggling to know that you got that, that when you were as young as you were?

[Sheamus]

Yeah, I think when I look back, and it obviously came so fast, that was the goal for me always was to not just make up the numbers, but to be successful. And obviously when it'll be World Heavyweight Championship, that's the crown of the crown. Like, you know, I grew up watching this, I grew up watching this, this, this sport, entertainment, wherever you want to call it. Like, I watch. I didn't miss, I didn't miss Saturday night event. I didn't miss, you know, I'm trying to think the Saturday morning shows, you know, all the way through to like the new generation, all the way up to the attitude era. I was a massive fan and that was, that's a dream everybody has who watches wwe. And it came through really, really quickly and was I ready for it? I definitely was green, man. I definitely was favorite, definitely green for sure. And I was learning on the fly and I was Putting everything I possibly put into it and just trying to, like, just kind of keep it going. And I knew I had intensity that nobody else had. And that's really what I've, like, that's kept me going, kept me unique, as well as my skin color and red hair and all that stuff. It's my accent. But I think that the intensity is something that I've always, like, really kind of leaned into, and that's really what kind of sets me apart. And that's. I feel why I'm still in the game. Like, you know, people talk about John Cena, like, you know, retiring, like, well, he's. I think he's like a year older than me, and I feel like I'm just getting started. Last week. Last week I was in there with J.D. man, and just, Just. Just ripping it up. Like, you know, when I first came here, there was. There was a couple of people that were, like, they were just kind of phoning in on their merits and, you know, just kind of, like, doing whatever they can. And they knew they were here a long time. I looked and I said, the day I actually, the day I don't go out there and give 110% or give everything I possibly have in every single match, I don't care if it's a raw smackdown. I don't care if it's an nxt. I don't, you know, it's main event that they take before the show. I won't go out there and give, not give everything I have in every single match I have. And especially with my neck, like, my neck. I felt like my neck. I was. I was written off. So every match I have. Every time I get out there, even tonight, running out and being Dom, I'm knocking up, knocking the bollocks out of them. But I still get that. That crazy kind of, like, adrenaline rush, because every bleeding day is a gift, you know, every time I get out, I'm still going, I still got it. I still train every heart, I still think batter everything. I so beat that out, you know, I mean, I just, like, that's how great I feel about this business. And then we talk like, the king of strong style. And, like, we had a match when I came back in that neck injury and I wasn't ready, but I feel like that's. That's. That's another banger. I just want to have banger after banger, mate. It's not just a line. It's not just a slogan. It's a way of life. I have it so What I do in the ring, and that's what I want. Like, Shinsuke's got. That's going to. I know it's going to be there with Shin. Shin is awesome. And I know he's going to bring that intense, going to bring that physicality, and I want to go through them to go on to the next guy, to the next guy to get to John Cena. That's where I'm at. That's where I'm at. And I've been calling out John for a long, long time. And I love the fact he's made his tournaments because now everybody gets an equal opportunity to face him in his last match at Saturday night's main event in Washington, dc.

What's the news beyond Sam? I'll repeat it.

No, I think I know exactly what you were saying, and it kind of led into what I was going to ask you anyway. The fact that, like, you're, You're. You're so right about. And then it translates to us watching that you go out there and you never go out there, especially right now, especially this version of Sheamus, you never go out there without leaving it all in the ring. And we can all see that that's what you're doing. And I think that that means way more now than it did before, because you have more to give and you still give it all. The fact that Shinsuke, like you just said, the king of strong style, is the guy that you're wrestling in this first round, and the fact that it is that John Cena tournament, all of these matches in this tournament have that sort of John Cena aura about them. We all know what this is for. Do you think once you get there next week, you're going to be realizing, like, okay, this is even. Even more than ever before. If every single time I go out there, I give a hundred and ten percent. Tonight's 125%.

Yeah, it's everything. Look, John is like, as I said, he's won more world championships than anyone else ever has. I have one goal left, and that's the Intercontinental Championship. I mean, because I've been so, like, wrapped up in it and just so obsessed with it, saluted me. But that was my Ultimate Grand Slam Champion moniker that I really wanted. There's no way I'm at this stage, I am a realist. There's no way I ever feel like in a match, John Cena's the amount of John's world titles John Cena has reached. But it's been a long time since I've been there, in there with Cena. And yeah, every day improve on myself. So again, I'll go out there and one day I'll prove that. I'll prove that I am the best. I'll prove that, like nobody can touch me in that ring. I'll prove that. If you want to go, you better keep up with me. And I'll get the same, same, same mentality. I'll go in to go to go to Shanley. Throw everything at me, fella. I want you to try everything at me. I don't want any easy passes in any rounds. I want to earn every single round. And I'm looking forward. He's talking about guys he wants to defend the title against. And he calls your name out and he said, seamus, I would love to have a banger. Now I know you're focused on this tournament and focused on this new goal of having John Cena's last match, but when you heard Punk call you out, what were you thinking?

[Sheamus]

There's always a man who wants to have a banger. And then, and he said it himself, he wants to have a banger. I've faced a Face Punk a couple of times. I just could be wrong, but I think it's twice. I think we wrestled in the first ever main event showed up was on. Remember that? There was like, maybe like, I think we were nearly a half an hour in the first one. I think we wrestled in the lumberjack match as well when I was world champion and he was we champion. So I think we wrestled both when we were both world champ. W champion. World champion, you know, and you know, I've, obviously he went away and I've stayed the course and you know, I have peaks and valleys, right? So I've kind of like endured it, come up, come back. I've rode the storm the whole time. But no, like, he's, he's proven again, like, even like age doesn't matter. Age is nothing. Age is just a number. He's out there. He's world champ. He's probably a year younger than me, I think, but I'd be well up for that. I would absolutely go well up for that. Look, what's the point? You don't just have one goal. You have many goals. I see Champ Cena's last match. I'm getting in there with Big Filth, AKA CM Punk banger. You know what I mean? It's, it's. I'm cool. I'm just, I'm excited. Like I'm not showing away from anything. I just want people to know that. I just want the people, fans and everyone realize like I was. I just love the ride and the love that I've been getting from the. The universe is, has been incredible. Like there was a time, as you know, Sam as well, obviously, you know, you do your, you know, a lot of podcasts and you're very well in tuned with the W universe and you have been for a long time. And that's what I love about our fans, because they just. They know. They know when everybody is. Is. Is they break it. Breaking their bollocks, breaking their back for them to put on the best show possible. And I've tried to prove that time and time again, and no matter what. And here's the thing, too. Every time we go out there, I go out there to the fly, basically, with my. I'm not going to ignore, Pretend it's not there. But I think my mentality is this. Every time I go out there, I go out there with the intention of earning every fan's respect at the show. That's why it's really. Because I got to earn their respect every single week.

Yeah. I mean, and you're right through the ups and downs, but I think you. You're that example of being undeniable and making it so that you can't ignore, as a fan, everything that you do in there. And I think that's why that support has grown and grown from your. Right. Maybe a period of time where there wasn't a ton of support for what you were doing, but very little, very little support. But tonight you go out there and somebody who I don't think is getting a ton of support.

This guy, Dominic Mysterio, he's just trying to have a celebration for himself. Right. He's already got his deadbeat dad giving him a hard time. Now he goes out there because the Judgment Day is giving him a hard time. He tries to do right by his friends. He's not the one. I mean, he brought the shillelagh out, but that was Finn Balor who handed him the shillelagh. And then all of a sudden, he turns around and he's got to deal with Seamus. I mean, what. Honestly, I haven't really. I haven't really talked about too much. I get where he's at, does everything he can to win. I understand that he's not the biggest. Well, he's not the most physical guy. He's definitely very, very athletic. And he's. He's definitely got a graze. He's smart, you know, he knows exactly what he's doing. He's always a couple of steps ahead. But I haven't really thought about, like, ever since after the last Intercontinental title, the failure. I think there's been about 12 or 11 in a row now. I think it's a record. I kind of just started away because it's starting to consume me a little bit. But today was nothing about the OSCE title. Today it was just he was in my way and I had to move him. Sorry. You haven't pulled me off the apron. You know, I probably would left well.

Alone, but it is a great example. I've watched people get run over by bikes in that bike lane, and it's like, they didn't mean to hit you with the bicycle. It's just that where. Why were you standing there? That's the bike lane.

It's not related to John Cena, it's not related to IC title or Shins Gay, which we talked about. But, you know, the last couple of years, I've had a chance to grow something and build something. That's been amazing, which is Celtic warrior workouts. Megan, obviously was on the channel. Sam, you're welcome to come on anytime you want. It would be great. The beauty of it is there's no ego on me. It's all about doing the other person's workout and making them a big deal. And I've been very lucky and blessed to have a lot of, like, superstars on there and. And male and female. I know. I kind of. I wasn't sure if we were going to get the matches before. Before Monday. Like, I didn't think I didn't know there'd be an announcement today and what the matches were. I didn't know if Monday the tournament was just going to start and we'd have entrance music and then a reaction.

[Sam Roberts]

Well, yeah, yeah, no, I mean, it's a good call. I had no idea either. We have two matches that were announced tonight. Rusev versus Damian Priest and Shinsuke Nakamura versus Sheamus.

[Megan Morant]

These are heavy hitters.

[Sam Roberts]

Yet the fact that we're starting in the first round of 16 and we're going to either eliminate Rusev or Priest and either eliminate Shinsky, Shinsuke or Seamus, let you know, like how stiff the competition is. But also speaking of stiff, those two matches are going to be stupid, hard hitting matches.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah. I mean, Priest and Rusev, I don't know if. And then my chest already hurts thinking about this.

[Sam Roberts]

I mean, yeah, but you also match. You also realize that, look, everybody involved here is like the final match with John Cena is one of the biggest matches you could possibly get in wwe. I mean, this is it and they are making the biggest deal possible out of it. Rusev has attempted the Intercontinental Championship a couple of times, not successfully. What's he going to do to stand out?

[Megan Morant]

And then Damian Priest, on the other hand, this is a former World Heavyweight.

[Sam Roberts]

Champion, but he hasn't been able to get past Alistair Black and he's getting fireballs thrown in his face. What's he going to do to break out of that? You know what I mean? The same way what it was. Sheamus was just talking about it, you know what I mean? Going out there and giving it his all. Shinsuke Nakamura is a different Shinsuke than we've seen. He's back to the OG music. He's back to being a fan favorite. But has he lost that edge? Like there's so much in just those first two matches to determine. We're going to get another two matches announced from Nick Aldis on Smackdown is what we found out. So we'll get four of the first eight matches announced now.

[Megan Morant]

Do you think they're going to bring the Tumblr out for that one as well? Is this Adam Pearce's style of picking?

[Sam Roberts]

No, because no, you can't have. If it's a.

[Megan Morant]

It wouldn't be fair.

[Sam Roberts]

It wouldn't be fair. You have to have the Tumblr throughout because if you're going to have superstars from all the different brands involved, then there needs to be an, an equal way of doing it across the board, which means Tumblr.

Now the people who don't work here. Are those going to be surprise mystery opponents?

[Sam Roberts]

Yeah, but they're probably still got to be in the Tumblr, right?

Tumblr. You had to figure out what number they were. You know, we have to have some integrity in this thing. Yeah. No, no, no. So I will use my Tumblr. I think maybe that is the only way to do it. I don't know. But it's gonna get really interesting, especially with the fact that you're gonna have NXT people in this. You're gonna have people who knows where they're gonna be from. But, but ultimately, man, next week on Raw, not only are we starting this tournament, but John Cena is gonna be there in Boston. And I think that this is where the reality sets in that we are on the road to John Cena's last match. John Cena has just over one month left in WWE as an active competitor. Four appearances and that's it. Two RAWs, Survivor Series and Saturday night's main event, and that's it. I think this tournament is going to feel really big once it starts.

[Megan Morant]

It should.

[Sam Roberts]

And I think that, I think that last match is going to be a massive last match, and there are so many different directions, so it's so difficult to figure out, like.

[Megan Morant]

Well, Cena said in that video that played at Saturday night's main event that also re aired tonight on Raw that he's hoping to give someone the same opportunity that he got his first night.

[Sam Roberts]

Well, yeah, but he didn't fight John Cena and John Cena's last match in his first night. No, it's a, it's, it's a. We didn't even fight Kurt Angle. He had a face to face with Kurt Angle. It's an even. It's a, it's a bigger opportunity, you know, than John Cena had in his first night. It's as big an opportunity as I think you can give. It's a big enough opportunity that just like we were saying, amongst those four, the opportunity will mean different People. Different things to different people. Right.

[Megan Morant]

Because we heard what it means to Seamus tonight.

[Sam Roberts]

That's what I'm saying. Because there is one school of thought where you're right, he did say, I want to give the same opportunity to the people that I got on my first night.

[Megan Morant]

So then that makes a lot of people think, oh, does it have to.

[Sam Roberts]

Be somebody like a new guy in nxtavon Evans, for example?

[Megan Morant]

But then listening to Seamus talk like, I'm coming, completely sold.

[Sam Roberts]

That's how big this opportunity is, needs to be.

[Megan Morant]

There is. I mean, listen, one of the biggest moments in Rusev's entire career was rolling up to WrestleMania 31 in a tank when he was on Raw. Recap. Did it or did it not come up? It came up. He rolled into WrestleMania in a tank. Who did he fight at WrestleMania in a tank? Well, he didn't fight him in the tank, but he drove there in a tank. It was John Cena. You know what I mean? Like, letting people know, not only have I not missed a step, but I'm better than I've ever been, and I'm going to beat John Cena this time. Damian Priest, I mean, talking about the archer of infamy, this is a guy that would live forever if he beats John Cena. Shinsuke Nakamura, this is another guy. King of strong style. Is he still that guy? You know what I mean? It's a different opportunity for everybody, but I don't think there's anybody on the roster or off the roster they wouldn't see this as a massive opportunity.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah, I mean, we heard Seamus say that he feels like he's just getting.

[Sam Roberts]

Started, and he's accomplished everything in the eyes of most fans. Everything. But he knows that even with everything he's done, even as storied as his career has been, there's nothing bigger. There's nothing bigger than being able to have John Cena's last match and make it a classic, you know? So I can't wait to see where it goes. Do you notice that every criticism you've ever had of Dominic Mysterio has been proven wrong? Did you ever think about that? Okay, you go home, you think about that. Like, man, isn't that weird? Every criticism I've ever had. I guess he's perfect.

I think he's far from perfect. Okay. But he is double champ. Dom.

[Sam Roberts]

That's another one. He's gonna have to prove you wrong again because it's the ninth title defense, I think they said. And they keep being successful. They're amazing. Dominik Mysterio shows up and all he wants to do is celebrate. You know what I mean? All he wants to do is just say, like, hey, and by the way, you can't even deny it anymore. And not that you would because you're a woman of integrity, but the people of New Mexico wanted to celebrate with domestic. And people can say whatever they want. Joe Test can make all kinds of snide comments about Dominic Mysterio while he's doing the penta Strut. Because I think that is true. But he was making snide comments. Seamus can say whatever he wants. The people of New Mexico.

Seamus said he was smart.

He did. He did say he was smart. I did.

Like, he also said that Dom got in his way.

With his deadbeat dad, Rey Mysterio is in a tag team. And then he.

He becomes Dirty Dom, where he can't even speak on a microphone because the entire arena is booing him so loud.

That was a rough period to. Now it's the opposite.

He can't speak because they're cheering himself. Well, it's fitting, though, and it makes sense. It all makes perfect sense. Okay, but he comes out and who is this guy? You know, it's like. You know when. Like a. Like a stage dad comes out? Like, you know, you pretend like you're putting your son on the path to success, but the minute that son starts to get more success than you, you start to kind of glom off of it a little bit. Yeah.

You know, I've learned about this before. Parents who are actually jealous of their children.

Showbiz parents.

That happens.

Dance moms.

Not healthy. And I saw it on Monday. I saw it tonight.

Parents who live vicariously through their child.

Parents who were never the Triple A Mega champion.

Ray comes out and ruins Dom's moment, which was not a great thing for a dad to do.

[Megan Morant]

Wade Barrett called him the worst father in the history of our species, which is a lot.

[Sam Roberts]

But I mean, look, I think. I think, you know, I had a pretty good dad, so maybe Wade's right. Every basis that I have for comparison, but I mean, just the worst mother in the history of our species is a huge species.

[Megan Morant]

Has been around for a long time.

[Sam Roberts]

Yeah. Longer than I can remember. It's a huge statement to make. So Dom's just trying to celebrate, and Ray comes out and Dom's trying to announce himself as the king of the luchadors.

[Megan Morant]

And it's really wild because we haven't seen Rey Mysterio in such a long time. And in the time that he's been away, he grew a mustache that looks exactly like Dom's.

[Sam Roberts]

I got it. Why do you think I grew a mustache? I wanted to look more like Dom.

[Megan Morant]

No, because you're in the gym. That's why you shaved the head.

[Sam Roberts]

That's true. That's true.

[Megan Morant]

Because you're a meathead now.

[Sam Roberts]

That's true. I am. I am. I'm a goon. Yeah. Dom, you're Right. Dom pointed that out. You know, Dom pointed that out, by the way, when Ray said, you're not Eddie Guerrero. And Dom said, don't speak about my father that way. Come on, who's better than Dominik? Mysterio is the best. But, I mean, you know, I'm very curious to where this is all gonna go, because Ray comes out, for whatever reason, he can't let Dom have his moment. And Ray was on here with us. He told us that if Dom won that Mega Championship, he would respect him. I don't know how many matches Dom has to win because he's also defending the Mega Championship and been successful. How many times does this guy have to successfully defend titles for Ray to be like, okay, you're the man. It's not right. What's going on?

[Megan Morant]

Jealousy is not good.

[Sam Roberts]

No, no. And look at what color the mask is. Look at the trim. What color is that?

[Megan Morant]

It's black and green.

[Sam Roberts]

Green with envy. That's really a shame. That's really a shame. So he does end up 61 9ing Dominic Mysterio, which, again, that's not what Dom wanted. Right? And so Dom has to deal with this with his deadbeat dad. And then he goes backstage, he's like, what is going on?

[Megan Morant]

As long as he's here, Dom will never be the greatest Mysterio of all time.

[Sam Roberts]

Like, give it up. You know what I mean? It's okay. Second. Second best Mysterio of all time is still very good. There's a lot of Mysterios, and they're.

[Megan Morant]

All impressive in their own right.

[Sam Roberts]

They're great. But I think, you know, then Dominic goes backstage, finds the Judgment Day. They're not showing him any love. He goes, you know what? Let me be part of the solution, not part of the problem. Listen to the advice of Roxanne, who, by the way, great victory over Nikki Bella.

This is the. Roxanne Perez now has pinned Iyo sky, and WWE hall of Famer Nikki Bella.

And then his dad's jealous of him.

It's a real good thing he has two titles.

Yeah, he's got titles to go around. You Know, but I just don't like, I, I, I, I don't like what I'm seeing there. With the Mysterio family.

Do you believe that Dom has surpassed Rey in every way, shape and form?

Yeah, because think about it, he's got two titles and he's taller.

The crooked referee. Danilo firing against her. No, Danilo's cheap. Not crooked. Cheap. Oh, and then we have Adam Pierce, right. Sending Becky lynch home and giving Maxine Dupree time and then Sam Roberts not promoting her book.

I mean, I would promote her book. I. First of all, I didn't even have my. Well, I had my basement, I guess, but it wasn't. I mean, it wasn't. Becky's a tough, tough, tough guest to get. Tough guest to get.

[Megan Morant]

Did you even try? Sure you did.

[Sam Roberts]

Couldn't get it done. Couldn't get it done.

[Megan Morant]

Listen, you're conspiring against her, that's all.

[Sam Roberts]

I'm not conspiring against anybody. You should get her a book. And if she wants to talk about her book now, I would love to talk to Becky Lynch. I mean, she was a little flying, a little off the handle tonight, showing up.

[Megan Morant]

Anything wrong with the way she acted tonight?

[Sam Roberts]

Well, she. Well, for one thing, she just showed up and get stood up on top of the table. For another thing, she started shouting again about. Well, about Jessica Carr, about the referee that she's still mad about, I guess. The cadence. The cadence. The cadence is what she's upset about. The cadence. Yeah. Yeah. Then she started talking about how Maxine is not cool, you know? Yeah, she said that, like. And I was like, what is she talking about?

[Megan Morant]

No, she's. She's. She's not. She's not cool because Becky's been a lifelong student of the game.

[Sam Roberts]

Right.

[Megan Morant]

And she doesn't go on bragging about, you know, these victories.

[Sam Roberts]

I mean, I think she brags about being on the list of greatest women wrestlers of all time.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah. But Maxine Dupree is bragging about a victory that came because of a crooked referee.

[Sam Roberts]

I see what you're saying. I see. What about the other one?

[Megan Morant]

The other one?

[Sam Roberts]

There were two victories.

[Megan Morant]

Well, yeah, Becky had to. I mean, she was dealing with a crooked referee and Maxine Dupree in her hometown in order to.

[Sam Roberts]

What do you think should happen to the referee?

[Megan Morant]

Fines. Suspension, yes. Multiple fines and multiple suspensions.

[Sam Roberts]

Wow. I didn't realize that. She did say that. When Maxine is back and ready for this, it won't just be the biggest opportunity of Maxine's career, it'll be the last one. She's furious. She is furious at this. Maxine Dupree. I can't believe that Maxine Dupree has gotten under Becky Lynch's skin like this. It's amazing. And I don't think it's the referee. I think it's Maxine Dupree. I don't think Becky lynch took Maxine Dupree seriously.

[Megan Morant]

No, I don't think she did either.

[Sam Roberts]

And I think that now we're left with this Becky lynch that has realized that she may be in more trouble than she thought, because now Maxine has, you know, what she's got on her side. Momentum. And that's tough. That's tough to beat.

[Megan Morant]

I wouldn't want to mess with a Becky lynch who says, welcome to the big time. And then we hear that of the mic.

[Sam Roberts]

You love when a mic falls down, what does it sound like?

[Megan Morant]

Slams the mic.

[Sam Roberts]

Yeah, that's actually a really good impression. It's actually a very good impression. Yeah. Yeah, that's perfect. No, I like yours better.

I also loved the confrontation after the promo. I love two things I love in wrestling. I love a tournament. I love an entryway confrontation. I love when somebody's leaving and the other person's coming. And they're not necessarily in the midst of a rivalry right now, but it starts planting the seeds for what may be coming next.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah. It was interesting because in Asuka's promo earlier in the night, she had said something about how I'd have to go back and look at the exact verbiage, but it was something along the lines about how she is one of the greatest.

[Sam Roberts]

Yeah. And she is.

[Megan Morant]

She is.

[Sam Roberts]

And she is. But I imagine Becky, as somebody who believes that they are the greatest.

[Megan Morant]

That's right.

[Sam Roberts]

Would have an issue with that.

[Megan Morant]

Imagine.

[Sam Roberts]

I love the idea. I love it. I love the confrontation. I think that Becky may be in trouble if that comes up, because I don't think she can find a tag team partner. She's not the best with, like, friends right now, unfortunately. Maybe you could do it.

It would be an honor for any woman in that locker room. It would be an honor.

[Sam Roberts]

Oh, I thought you meant for you to be asked.

Oh, I mean, come on.
