CM Punk gets a microphone for the first time since WrestleMania and has to find a new friend to deal with Paul Heyman's alliance. Penta is on the show tonight as he is stopping at nothing when it comes to stopping the Judgment Day. Becky lynch makes her opinions known. The women tear the house down with a main event for the ages and so much more. Welcome to the WWE Raw recap brought to you by fanatics. Oh, massive, massive Monday Night Raw Massive Raw recap. Penta will be on the show today, but Megan, it was advertised. It never disappoints. And I always wonder if it will because CM Punk has so much pressure on him. He coined the phrase pipebomb. It was a microphone in CM Punk's hand for the first time since WrestleMania. And that's how Monday Night Raw was advertised. And what comes out of his mouth? Paul Heyman is a fat little snake. And that's where we begin.
Host 2
And he also says, where you at, penguin?
Host 1
Penguin. Penguin. He called him the. And I don't think he was referring to the animal. I was thinking more. I don't even know if it was the Colin Farrell penguin as much. Danny DeVito penguin, maybe Mr. Popper's penguins. It's up to interpretation.
Host 2
Well, and that's also up to interpretation. I mean, we heard last week Paul Heyman's perspective.
Host 1
Yes. I mean, WrestleMania went down in epic fashion.
Host 2
And then this week we got to hear CM Punk's perspective.
Host 1
And that's the story.
Host 2
Everything went down.
Host 1
That's what WWE is right now, right? Good guys and bad guys, they're all right. It's just a matter of perspective. And that's why shows like this are so necessary, because we have all our feelings. We need to break down these perspectives and figure out who's right and who's wrong. So CM Punk says that Paul Heyman is a fat little snake, but that's no surprise to him. He says. He brings up Paul Heyman turning on him in the past. I thought that was ancient history. Apparently, it was not. He calls Seth Rollins the Teemu CM Punk, which, after tariffs, I don't know. It could be worth a lot more money. Uh, but he says he's mad at himself is what CM Punk said. He's mad at himself for not realizing this would happen because it's not the first time Paul Heyman has done it. And while, yes, it would seem unthinkable that Paul Heyman would turn on the man he said he was, who was his best friend, I almost feel like. Right. Because Paul Heyman was with the bloodline for, like, four years and was as loyal as anyone could ever be, as loyal as anyone has ever been portrayed to be. That we forget that up until the bloodline, Paul Heyman was a snake in the grass, and Paul Heyman turned on everybody.
Host 2
Do we really forget, though?
Host 1
I don't know. Maybe we were. You know what it is?
Host 2
Have you ever fully trusted Paul Heyman?
Host 1
I. Yeah. Yeah. But I was. I was drunk in love with the bloodline. What can I mean? Yeah. Yes. I bought into everything, hook, line, and sinker. I said, that's the wise man. The word love was thrown around between Roman. You remember when Roman Reigns looked at CM Punk and he goes, he loves me.
Host 2
The amount of times I've watched the Paul Heyman clip from last week's promo when he was explaining his perspective on everything, where he's a good guy.
Host 1
I'm right. I'm right.
Host 2
And Seth was right tonight when he brought up to CM Punk that Paul's the one who believed in you. Punk, Paul. I mean, you could argue that Paul's one of the reasons that Punk is Punk.
Host 1
I mean, Paul Heyman is one of the reasons that CM Punk is a WWE Superstar. There's no getting around that. And that's real life. That's, you know, CM Punk being well known at the time as. I mean, because CM Punk coming up in the WWE at a time where not a WWE guy was a thing, There were so many wrestlers that were popular across all the independents, but they just weren't a WWE guy. And. And they never showed up. And CM Punk is notorious for being one of those people. And Paul Heyman, to his own behest, at times being the guy that was pushing for punk and pushing for punk and pushing for punk. But, I mean, that's the past, ultimately. And if you want me to believe that Paul Heyman was offended by what CM Punk had done. So instead of saying, like best friends do, if your best friend is mad at you. Right.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
And instead. And. But they're mad at you for justified reasons because you are not nice.
Host 2
Okay.
Host 1
They should probably come up to you and be like, hey, just so you know, this is how I'm feeling right now. Instead of going like, you know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna wait until you need me the absolute most and you're most vulnerable, and I'm gonna completely betray you.
Host 2
I'm gonna snap.
Host 1
I'm gonna. I'm gonna completely betray you. I'm gonna ruin your life, and I'm gonna blame you for it. How does that sound? But I'm right. I'm right.
Host 2
Because remember that one thing, that one.
Host 1
Time, that's what is going on. I. I'll tell you this. Paul Heyman has changed since being around Seth Rollins. First of all, it's something that I've. I've. I've.
Host 2
The spray tan was a little dialed back this week. I did.
Host 1
I think there's a natural dilution of tan. I didn't. I just. I thought Louisville wasn't as sunny. I'm not sure it was spray tan. Well, last week I thought it was natural.
Host 2
Last week it was very intense. It's. Maybe he spent some time out of the sun.
Host 1
Hot day. A lot of vitamin D. Yeah. You know, hot day. I think it could have been spray tan. I guess it was running down his face. But Paul Heyman, I mean, changes with every single person he's around. Right? Like I said this before, CM Punk was a Paul Heyman guy. Paul Heyman was a Roman Reigns guy. But the way Paul Heyman is around Seth Rollins, number one, he is more courageous than maybe I've ever seen him. The fact that he walks because he feels protected. The fact that CM Punk is calling him out and he interrupts Punk and walks right out, ladies and gentlemen, without any. Without a seed of doubt. And then allows Seth Rollins to do the talking. And I want you to watch Paul Heyman. This is what I noticed tonight. Watch Paul Heyman as Seth Rollins does the talking. Because not only is he happy with Seth Rollins, but he looks like he's sitting under the learning tree. It looks like as Seth Rollins is talking, Paul Heyman is just kind of soaking in It. And sometimes he's happy and sometimes he's surprised, but he's just kind of staring and going like, I'm like, Paul Heyman is usually in control. And it almost seems like whether people know it or not, they're being puppeteered by the wise man. And it doesn't feel this time like that's the space that Seth Rollins is in. It feels this time like Seth Rollins is in charge. And Paul Heyman has decided that, no, this is where the future's going.
Host 2
And it is distinctly different than the way Paul Heyman was with Roman Reigns as his wise man.
Host 1
Completely different.
Host 2
There's always, yes, my wise man. Yes, my wise man. And it almost is a bit more evil now. Feels that way. Look at his face. I mean, we're looking at it right now on the screen, right? CM Punk's face. But I mean, just Paul Heyman is wearing it.
Host 1
Right, Right. But. And that's. And there is something evil about the fact that Paul Heyman would walk out when CM Punk is as angry as CM Punk was that Paul Heyman will walk out without fear. Well, he knows Seth Rollins is behind him, and he knows. You got it. Bron Breaker is right behind him. And Bron Breaker, I mean, I don't know what it was. I don't know if it's the suit, but those talk about tanned and giant hands of Braun Breaker were on full display. But the way Seth Rollins kind of took over and he did. He did what you said. He painted this picture of CM Punk as this selfish guy. And he also did. And I didn't get that when he's like, you're being selfish. This is. You did this. You did.
Host 2
It's like, well, Seth can't forget the past, though.
Host 1
No, Seth lives in the past.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
As much as he's the future, he's completely built by the past, which is interesting. Very interesting. He's using the past to fuel what he believes the future should be. And he's using the past as examples of why certain people can't be the future because of what they've done in the past. I think Seth is saying that Punk is selfish and then calling him a gaslighter is classic gaslighting. Like, we're just gaslighting left and right here. But what I did find interesting was that Seth and I feel like he's so good at finding that little thing that even fans are like, yeah. Whether it's storyline or not, they're like, yeah. Oh, yeah. I know what he's saying there, right? Yes, Exactly. Oh, you right.
Host 2
You're right.
Host 1
When he said, you love being a victim, don't you, Punk? It was like, ooh, ooh, that one. That one was felt a little too real. That one stings. That one's a little close to home. And you know that Rollins has been hypersensitive to that and aware of everything CM Punk has done. And that goes back not to, you know, four weeks ago at WrestleMania. That goes back to the 10 years that CM Punk was gone. That goes back to everything.
Host 2
And it is pretty amazing that still 10 years remove. People still chant his name.
Host 1
Why?
Host 2
Because he's a victim.
Host 1
They love CM Punk. But you're right. There is something about And Becky Lynch. We'll talk about that later. The fact that, like, Becky lynch said, I was too successful to be relatable anymore. CM Punk stays in that spot of being like, these people are doing this to me. And it makes it so that you want to root for him.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
Except at what point does he go, no, man, life is good. I'm like, I made a mistake here. I made a mistake there. But life is good.
Host 2
Always gonna have a chip on his shoulder maybe.
Host 1
And maybe that's what. Maybe that's the magic of CM Punk. So, of course, Bron Breaker gets sent in to make CM Punk a martyr. Seth says, you've always wanted to be a martyr. I have Bron Breaker here to do that, and Bron Breaker seems very capable of that. But that's when Sami Zayn comes out. And once again, we see this Sami Zayn, CM Punk, Paul Heyman, guys, Jay, USO scenario kind of explode in the ring. And we get the match announced. Saturday night's main event, Sami Zayn and CM Punk vs Seth Rollins and Bron Breaker.
Host 2
I love how many different versions we've seen of Sami Zayn over the last three, four years. Yeah, it's been so much fun.
Host 1
I almost feel like over the past three or four years and maybe even further, like, over the past several years, Sami Zayn has just been getting realer and realer and realer to the point that you're just like, you slowly. And maybe that's part of growing, Right? You build this character, this facade, because you're figuring out how to do this wrestling thing. And eventually you get so good and so comfortable in the fact that you are good at this that you slowly just become more and more yourself. And it seems like that sort of. I mean, same as he started wrestling. He's wearing a mask.
Host 2
He's so multifaceted, too, Right?
Host 1
As People are.
Host 2
He has so many layers, right? And we. I feel like, yes, it's been the last several years, but particularly the last three to four years. Yes, it's gone even deeper.
Host 1
And I thought it was very fitting when they met in the locker room and. And good that it actually made sense that CM Punk goes, like, the tag matches announced, and CM Punk's looking at Sammy going, like, yeah, man, I don't trust anybody right now. And it's like, yeah, that's how one would be if they were just betrayed by their best friend. You know what I mean? Why would they just jump into another team with another person, especially if they, as you said, have a chip on their shoulder, Right? When that went, when CM Punk said that, I go, yeah, that makes all the sense in the world. Like, that's just like being a person. That's just being a human with feelings and emotions. I mean, I think Sami Zayn is the least likely person to turn on anybody, which, of course, in today's WWE makes people want to see him turn on somebody. But I just can't. I can't see Sammy doing it. I can see Sami turning on somebody.
Host 2
I mean, you're bringing me back to the Raw after WrestleMania, where I thought Sammy for a moment, of course, because.
Host 1
We'Ve been convinced that we can't have nice things, but we can have nice.
Host 2
Things, so maybe this is a nice thing.
Host 1
That's what I thought. I thought this was a nice thing. And then, of course, all nice things come to an end because of this group, because we see this conversation between Seth Rollins and Bron Breaker, where Seth. And this is where Paul Heyman is really looking on, like, intently, like. Like learning from Seth Rollins, which is.
Host 2
A wild dynamic Messiah.
Host 1
Wild dynamic. And Seth goes, you probably think I might have gotten bested, but, like, you have no idea what I'm capable of. And, like, when he says that, everybody goes, like, I believe him. Which is crazy, but true.
Host 2
I mean, a guy dressed in snakeskin with Louis Vuitton sunglasses, would you believe? Yeah, I'm buying whatever he's selling.
Host 1
Whatever. I mean, how'd you get those glasses and that snakeskin suit? I'm like Jonah Hill when I see Leonardo DiCaprio in the diner going, if you made $50,000 this month, I work for you with the fake teeth and everything. Yeah, that's me. When I see Seth Rollins, it's not. I'm not sitting there going, how does this guy get anybody to pay attention to him?
Host 2
The Drip levels up every week.
Host 1
I go, can I Dress a little like you. I mean, Bron Breaker looks great in a suit. Okay. Something about a well dressed man.
Host 2
Just really. Are you okay? Are you uncomfortable?
Host 1
I'm not. I'm very comfortable.
Host 2
Okay.
Host 1
I'm very, very comfortable.
Host 2
Just perked up a little bit.
Host 1
Well, that's why. That's how I look when I'm comfortable, so. So he whispers something in Bron Breaker's ear. There's one more thing to do. And we find out later in the night that for whatever reason, Bron Breaker takes out Jey uso, who had his own problems, which we'll get into in a moment. But Jey USO at the end of the night gets taken out by Braun Breaker. So now we go into this Saturday night's main event. We've got two matches announced. Jay USO versus Logan Paul.
Host 2
Gonna be great.
Host 1
And this massive tag team match, which I feel like is kind of a sleeper. The fact that we're getting Braun Breaker and Seth Rollins versus Sami Zayn and CM Punk is this like insanely huge tag team match to me.
Host 2
Yeah. This is the first time we will see this new alliance of Bron Breaker and Seth work together in the ring as a team.
Host 1
As an in ring tag team.
Host 2
We've seen them talk on the mic.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
We've seen them make entrances together.
Host 1
Yeah. That's a good point.
Host 2
But we haven't seen them work together.
Host 1
Coexist in a match.
Host 2
Yes.
Host 1
What their. What does their chemistry look like together?
Host 2
I don't know.
Host 1
And it's interesting too, that whatever I.
Host 2
Would imagine Seth is. Seth is calling the shots.
Host 1
That's what I was gonna say.
Host 2
Directing things. But. But Braun is the weapon.
Host 1
When have you ever seen Braun get directed?
Host 2
Never.
Host 1
That's my point. And I know he's got a snakeskin suit, but like, that's an interesting dynamic that there is something there. There is something in the juju that Seth Rollins has that is making Bron Breaker be like, yeah, yeah, I'll buy what you're selling.
Host 2
And I don't. Bron Breaker just doesn't strike me as a guy that likes to be told what to do.
Host 1
No, but he is an athlete and athletes are results oriented. Athletes listen to a coach. If they're good athletes, they will listen to a coach because that coach has proven that they get results and Seth has proven that he gets results. He won WrestleMania's main event.
Host 2
Yes, he did.
Host 1
I mean, maybe that's all there is to it, you know, I mean, I tell you, a lot of kids are out there getting results Everybody's graduating right now. It's a big, big time for graduation. And guess what? Guess who's got you covered for graduation. 2025 Fanatics. WWE Shop. Of course. WWE Shop. We're in the middle of May. Very soon, a lot of WWE fans are going to be graduating high school, graduating college. So from Raw Recap, we want to say a big congratulations to all the graduates out there. And we've got all the gifts that graduates are going to need. We got championship replica titles, we got Superstar merch, the Yeet shirts, everything you need. Okay? Undisputed and World Heavyweight Championship watches. So you can get out there looking like a professional. That's right. You can. You can get the new Eosky Pro Sphere collection. The Dominic Mysterio Latino Cheat T shirt look as good as Finn Balor did last week when he was wearing it. Jacob Fatuz, all gas, no brakes.
Penta
Yada mean ah too.
Host 1
Now that you graduated, go dog walk somebody. Okay.
Host 2
I can't say it. Kofi got mad at me.
Host 1
Got it. I mean, he did. He left it in a comment. But look, at least you look cool if people are getting mad at you for saying what you're saying. Go to WWE Shop, get all this stuff as part of graduation. And congratulations to all the graduates out there.
Host 2
Was me saying yada da mean cringe?
Host 1
I didn't think so, but I've been accused of being cringe myself. So I may not be the best judge.
Host 2
I mean, Kofi was. Kofi was giving me some heat.
Host 1
Yeah, but Kofi is not a nice guy. Kobe's a mean guy.
Host 2
He is.
Host 1
Kofi is a. I mean, honestly, he's a bad guy. He's not a good dude.
Host 2
Yeah, I mean, I thought it was a little funny when he was making fun of you for being bald.
Host 1
Right. But now you see how it feels.
Host 2
Came at me, I was like, hey.
Host 1
Hey, that doesn't feel good. And maybe that's also a lesson that you should learn about other people having their feelings hurt. Okay. Kofi Kingston is a bad guy. Xavier woods, bad guy. They demonstrated on Commentary tonight. They were. They were terrible people.
Host 2
And they're terrified of the war Raiders.
Host 1
You think so?
Host 2
Yeah. They're dodging them. Come on.
Host 1
I mean, I don't think the Creeds are that much better, to tell you the truth.
Host 2
Well, the new day may see some holes in the Creed brothers.
Host 1
No, I think I, I. Look, I can't go to their motivation, but I will tell you, they're horrible people. Jey. Uso's not a horrible person. And Jay uso. Okay, so, so Jay uso, as we said, gets jumped by Bron Breaker, right? And then we find out that what's his reward for getting jumped by Bron Breaker next Monday? He's got a match now with Bron Breaker. It's a non title match, but it's Bron Breaker versus Jay uso. J uso, I have not. I don't remember the last time I saw somebody learn the hard way more so what it is like to be the World Heavyweight champion than Jay uso. Listen to this schedule.
Host 2
Okay, let's hear it.
Host 1
End of the show. We find out on Monday he's wrestling Braun Breaker. Then he's got to go to Saturday to wrestle Logan Paul with his championship on the line. And Logan Paul doesn't lose that many matches. Who knows what part of the building Logan Paul is going to be leaping from. He'll be doing selfies across seven turnbuckles. It's going to be a madness.
Host 2
And no matter how much we hate him, he's, he's good.
Host 1
He's unfortunately very good. Unfortunately very good. There's probably something in the lunch leaves then, then he can't take a breath. You, I mean, if you survive Bron Breaker, you can't take a breath because Logan Paul's waiting. If you survive Logan Paul, you can't take a breath because we find out tonight, just as Jey Uso's trying to help himself to a third entrance, Gunther comes out and he says, hey, good news. After I beat up that commentator, Pat McAfee, I just talked to Adam Pierce and enjoy your little Saturday night's main event match with Logan Paul because on Monday, what was it, June 9th, I want to say four weeks, they said. From, from, from Monday night. On June 9th, Gunther gets a championship match on Raw against whoever wins between Logan Paul and Jey uso.
Host 2
I was surprised when Jay was in the ring and we heard Gunter's music hit. Were you?
Host 1
Yeah. I mean, I said leave him alone.
Host 2
Right?
Host 1
You gave him a month off and now you're back to haunt him.
Host 2
But I did see something different out of Jay, which Jay is a guy who's so changed since winning the Royal Rumble many times.
Host 1
Actually, he's changed like six times since winning the Royal Rumble.
Host 2
Right. This is, I mean, we talk every week. I feel like we come on and we're like, Jay Uso's confidence is higher than ever. Jay Uso's confidence, higher than ever. But the way you looked at Gunter holding that title, I mean, you felt it the Crowd felt it. I wonder, after going backstage and being attacked by Bron Breaker, how is his confidence? Next week on Raw.
Host 1
I hope he's not as fragile as he once was. I hope that it isn't like you can't be a world champion and like be confident until one thing happens.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
If you're going, if your mood is shifting based on every single thing that happens to you as a champion, then Gunther is right. And you're not built for it. That's right, Jay USO turned around and said, actually, you're wrong. Like, I found my spot. I am built for this. I was waiting for this. There's a reason that I'm here. And you know, we find out, but like he's already defended the title against Seth Rollins. Now he's got a non title match with Bron Breaker, then a title defense against Logan Paul, and if he somehow survives at all, a title defense against Gunter. And we haven't even gotten to money in the bank yet. I mean, I hope that some and.
Host 2
I think, you know, be his first month as World Heavyweight Champion.
Host 1
Yes. And, and, and, and, and, and Biggie has talked about it here on Recap before about like, you know, the real life of being a champion and, and, and the stressors that come with it and the schedule and all this stuff. But man, I don't remember the last time somebody got that kind of welcome in to the championship title picture where it's just like, oh, by the way, everybody wants to eat your lunch. Everybody. Because I mean, understand and know with your whole heart that if somehow he survives Brom Breaker, Logan Paul and Gunther, he doesn't get to go to the cast party. He goes and has to. He's gonna have seven more guys that want to tear his throat out.
Host 2
It doesn't end.
Host 1
It never ends. It's a never ending thing. And you watch, you watch people talk about the future of the business and you watch people come from NXT and you watch people in WWE ID and you watch lfg and you watch people in other promotions that are gonna be coming over. Jeff Cobb just showed up out of nowhere. Imagine that. You're like, okay, I won the championship. I think I figured out everybody. And all of a sudden Jeff Cobb is on the roster. You're like, what?
Host 2
I mean, that moment lasts for what, 12 hours, 24 hours.
Host 1
I don't even think you can. No. You could even give it 24.
Host 2
No.
Host 1
Because by the time you get to raw, it's like, no, no, we want what you got. That thing that you Got. We want. We're not cheering for you anymore. We're done with that. It's crazy. So, look, it's what Jay asked for. It's what we all kind of asked for. And it is necessary. It is necessary. If we are going to say Jay deserves to be in the spot that he's in, then he's got to be in the spot that he's in. And he's got to. He's got to live like this. And that World Heavyweight Championship was designed to be defended like this, to be fought like this. I mean, the whole purpose of that title existing was because there was a tribal chief that wasn't defending the championship.
Host 2
That's your guy.
Host 1
I love that, man. But it's the workhorse championship, the World Heavyweight title, and. And now Jay's gotta. I mean, Jay, he's gotta level up yet again and just continue to level up and level up and level up and level up until, you know, forever. Forever.
Host 2
If you want to be. If you want to stay champion.
Host 1
That's 100% right. It's 100% right. You know, we were talking about Gunther and we were talking about Tops now on the post. Oh, the moments on the Backlash recap show. Yes, Yes. I have a very exciting moment to tell you about. Of course, Tops Now. When Tops put out the Top. When Topps puts out the Tops now cards, they showcase moments from these events that are like, forever. Penta, who we're going to talk to in a second, had his debut on Raw made into a Tops now card. Like, so many different things have been made into Tops now cards. Well, Pat McAfee gets a tops now card based on the match that he had with Gunther at Backlash. Some lucky fans who order the base card are, of course going to get the serial numbered cards. The parallels, the. I'm sure there'll be a super factor in there. There'll be all kinds of stuff. It's available on tops.com and stay on the lookout because there will be another huge Tops Now Backlash card that is launching this week. So we've got a Pat McAfee card. We've got another one coming this week. Make sure that you follow at Tops on all social media platforms so you don't miss out and you don't want to, because these cards go up, whatever it is, two, three days and then they are gone, and that's it. Good luck on the secondary market.
Host 2
Seriously.
Host 1
Yeah. So it's a lot of fun. I'm excited about that. But I am also excited about our guest here. On Raw recap. Coming straight from Louisville, Kentucky, the home of tonight's Monday Night Raw. Let's. Let's do this. Okay. Let's do it. Because we bring it back to the Judgment Day, okay? You're in Louisville right now. You just. You stick around extra time on Monday Night Raw to make sure that you were there for the Judgment Day match for Finn Balor and AJ Styles, and you made your presence known. What was it about the Judgment Day? Why was it that you needed to make sure?
Penta
It's for the. The same reason, brother.
Host 1
Yeah.
Penta
Dominic, Carlito, Finn, the stupid J.D. come on, brother. Everyone versus Penta. Why?
Host 2
Right?
Penta
You know?
Host 1
Yeah.
Penta
You saw the last matches, right?
Host 1
Yeah, of course.
Penta
Always in turn. Something if. If Thin or Dom or Kalido. Why, man? I am professional. I want a face to face with no matter who, but only one on one.
Host 1
So you get to wwe, right? And the whole world's been waiting for you to get to wwe, and you cut that promo when you first get here. And it's like. It's like this whole thing is finally happening. You get into WWE and what happens? You see that there is utter chaos. It sounds like somehow.
Penta
I agree with that.
Host 1
Yeah.
Penta
But every week. Come on, brother.
Host 1
Hey, hey.
Penta
I know you are the Judgment Day team. I know. I know your favorite wrestler is dumb. I know. No problem, brother. No problem. I promise you, one by one, will be full, you know?
Host 1
Yeah.
Penta
Yes. Give me a little moment. I prepare something special for them.
Host 1
Oh, you have a plan?
Penta
I can say something? Because you go to say, hey, dumb Penta. Now.
Host 1
Thank you.
Host 2
You're smart. That is very smart.
Host 1
That is smart. But do you wonder, do you worry at all, Penta, that, like, you're like, okay, you know, I've been here for whatever it is, five months now in the wwe, if. If you're having problems with everybody in the Judgment Day, if you're having problems with El Grande Americano, a luchador much like yourself, like, isn't. Isn't it possible that you are difficult to get along with?
Penta
Yes. So the Grande Americano, or Jack Gable or whatever you name is, no matter he is a stupid clown because he is a fake luchador. The real luchador is Penta. And tonight I show him and show all world who is Penta and who is the best luchador. And this war. No, no, no. Not this war in this universe.
Host 1
Oh. Did you feel differently tonight wrestling Chad Gable? I was thinking about it as I was watching. You have now have so much history with this guy, as well as Grande Americano. The luchador that Chad Gable was able to meet in his travels. You wrestled Chad Gable in your first match in WWE without any of this history, when you were just kind of getting your feet wet, when you were just being introduced into this world. And how different does it feel now against the same opponent?
Penta
Yes.
Host 1
After experiencing everything you've experienced.
Penta
To be honest, the difference between the first chatgarwe and the tonight was he is more aggressive in some part of the match, you know, so I feel him more because I. When was the first time, you know, he know me, right? Or maybe a little bit. But now he know more about me. This is the difference. He know what is my moves, how is my something, you know, now he's stood in me, I think all month for this match or week, I don't know. But tonight it was more difficult the first time. This is. This is the true brother.
Host 1
Wow. Wow. I mean, a big announcement. You know, you talked about being the greatest luchador in the universe. The big announcement was made only like, you know, less than a month ago. I feel like the acquisition of aaa, the. The partnership with the wwe. What do you think fans that may not be familiar with AAA can expect from this part?
Penta
Because in my personal opinion. Yeah, so it's good for the business, it's good for the fans. You know, I think it's as very, very good opportunity for the Mexican wrestlers, you know, the younger wrestlers and the in general, wrestler. Mexican. The Mexican wrestler. Sorry, but because this. This door is bigger. That's what any other opportunity in the world, you know, I don't know exactly what is the form. I don't know exactly how. How will be the Mexican. I don't know, but I. I'm sure this is the best opportunity for all Mexican wrestlers, brother. I hope that I. I want to see more wrestler here in wwe, you know, like luchados, obviously, but to be honest, man, and. And serious, I think it's good for the business, bro. I don't know when to start. I don't know how is the real formula for. For this project, but just I feel in my heart is. Is a good business. You know, pent up.
Host 2
When you arrived on Raw, at the Netflix debut, I mean, people who weren't familiar with you were immediately captivated by your entrance. I think for one, it is the best entrance in all of professional wrestling. But you've talked a lot about how Triple H was involved in coming up with that entrance. What was it like for you to watch that come to life? Because I feel like every week it gets cooler and cooler, if that's even possible.
Host 1
Like flames get added. Yeah, yeah.
Host 2
Your interaction with the mentioned before.
Penta
Actually the. My entrance I answered before is triple H 100% idea for everything. Every week something different. Every week something special, you know. So I thankful with him because in my personal opinion is no like other thing. But I think the Triple H is the very smart boss in the world, man. Because you know, the. When you talk with him for something about the Lucha or the wrestling, he resolved very quick. No need, nothing. Just like no, this, this, this, this, this and you. Okay. And works because the Russell isn't tv, right? So about my entrance, I'm very happy for that because you mentioned every week is much better and much better and much better. Finally. I feel like comfortable with that because I feel the energy the in my back when the flames come, you know, I feel the fire in my bag is like, come on, I want to hit something, you know. But for the reason I love my entrance because my energy put high so high.
Host 1
I think that also it's got to feel good. When you get into WWE after everything that you've done in this business, right? That you have this whole foundation that you've built across, you know, Mexico and Lucha Underground and TNA and all of this history that you walk in and you realize that WWE is ready to make this level of investment that they're going to create this level of presentation. It's got to make you instantly feel like, okay, they're on board as much as I'm on board. Yeah.
Penta
I think. No, no, I think, I'm sure, brother. The more special thing here is like everyone is very professional. No matter if you are wrestler, no matter your camera, no matter if you are the staff, no matter you are whatever you want here, everyone, all war is here is very professional. And when happen that you feel very comfortable because you trust anyone, you know, you trust everything here because everything here is very professional. I am Mexican, but I feel at home, you know. This is the most important thing for me because I know every week I try. They give my best every show, every match. But when I back to the locker room, I. I see my. My partners is like, man, I'm. I'm here with all superstars, you know. Now I am one too. But come on, I wanna. I come here to WWE for conquer everything, brother. No matter what. No matter my physical, no matter I'm tired, no matter I hurt, no, no matter nothing. Because in my mind only my next goal is a championship, you know?
Host 2
Yeah, well, Pento on that debut, Raw debut On Netflix. When you joined wwe, your daughter was front row at the match. It's clear that your family means so much to you. Has your daughter ever given you any. Any sort of advice?
Penta
Oh, to be honest, no, like real advice. But you know, I'm Mexican and Mexico like I don't know what is this? And in English, like crossing yourself.
Host 2
Yeah, doing the cross.
Penta
Say pa. Please. You take her. I want to see you. You win, B. Enjoy this match. I say thank you. This, this, this word for me is my motor. You know, for everything. Because I know my. My little daughter wanna rose too. Now she's practice every day. The promos in English.
Host 1
She.
Penta
She played every day in all my home aluchas with the co scenes. You know, he put my belt. I am the champ. You know, when I saw that, like, wow. I know what is my. My goal. And this universe is inspired the new generations. This is the truth. Because for example, Drag Mysterio years ago inspire me now I know, I understand the new generation come behind me. You know, for example, my daughter. I turn around like, come on. I know. Well, I know for what I'm here in this universe. I know for what I'm here in this company. Because to be honest, man, this is with my heart, with my soul. I want to inspire the new generations.
Host 2
Well, you just brought him up. The hall of Famer Rey Mysterio. You started the Royal Rumble in the Ring with Rey Mysterio. Is that a singles match that you'd like to see in wwe?
Penta
This is my dream match. To be honest, is one that my dream matches. But step by step because for now I respect. I love you, Racito. I love you, Rey Mysterio. I love you. The legacy from him less the stupid dumb he is like, oh, I hate this stupid guy.
Host 1
I mean it.
Penta
What time?
Host 1
No, I just.
Penta
Because something. You'll say something.
Host 1
I mean, I don't know if I was going to say the same thing. My only question. I'm so familiar with Rey's history and. And everything he's accomplished. Right? From. From everything he did. Wcw, wwe, WWE Champion, everything.
Penta
In the morning when I. I start workout.
Host 1
Yeah.
Penta
I don't know why you've been Sabu in Paris. I saw the match again. ECW. Rey Mysterio vs Sabu. I watched the most beautiful match I saw in my life.
Host 1
Incredible. I'm so glad you brought that up.
Penta
This morning I saw like with the different uncle, you know.
Host 1
Yeah.
Penta
Because I am with Ray. I you know, diet him. But I say every. The tiles there is like wow. Something crazy, man. Never do. Never. I seen that r my studio. A lot of crazy things, right?
Host 1
You know, and so, so innovative. Like I remember growing up like Ray. Ray and Sabu were guys that were showing me wrestling the way I had never seen it before.
Penta
It was very amazing, brother. But for answer your question, I love match with Ry Mysterio. Like the same, like ECW versus above, like tables, you know? Yeah, something like. No, extreme, but something hard, you know, Table chairs.
Advertiser 2
Love that higher.
Penta
Maybe 10 tops or something like that. Because I love it this style and Ray Mysterio too, you know, And I.
Host 1
Also think that there's a lot of people, a lot of WWE fans that maybe haven't seen how violent Penta can become. When Penta. I mean, some of us have seen, but it's. It gets crazy. How crazy is it though, that with everything Rey Mysterio has done, that his greatest accomplishment is actually his offspring, Dominic Mysterio and how much he's been able to accomplish.
Penta
Come on, bro.
Host 2
Come on.
Penta
You call me here in this interview with that? Come on, brother. I told you. There's so many mixed stereo. No matter. Okay, forget about that question, please. Because you. You make me angry.
Host 1
Sorry, I don't want to make you angry. I don't.
Penta
Okay, Let me breathe. Okay, okay. Everything is good. Okay, perfect. Next question, please.
Host 1
How did you and George Kittle become such great friends?
Penta
Oh, good question.
Host 1
Okay, okay.
Penta
So with your skill. I don't remember exactly how many years ago. I think five or seven, something like that. Sorry, I. I am very dates, but one friend called me, hey, Penta. I have a friend. He is player the football. So he won a mask, the Penta mask. He's like, okay, can I sell? He say, no, no, no, because it's big famous. What is the name? Josh Kill. I don't know. I sell. No, no, please, bro. Okay, what is the team? 49ers. Okay, I know the 49ers. Okay, let me tell who it is. When I meet him in the locker room, he said, oh, I know. Obviously I Google your skin. Wow. It's a big star for the. He. He's a big star. A big star. He is a big athlete, you know?
Host 1
Oh, yeah.
Penta
Wow, man. It's amazing, the work. I never. I never seen a football trainer, but when I see him trainers, like, oh, it's a beast, man. So it's a very disciplined this sport. I love this sport. Right now, obviously, I'm 49er team right now.
Host 1
Yes, yes.
Penta
But no, actually after that, after the meet with him and the locker room we changed mass for, for Jersey, you know, couple pictures. Yes, something like that. After that we text me. Not every day, but you know, sometimes. Hey, how are you brother? Everything good? See you there. Actually, I, I, I did a commercial with him like one year ago, I think so in Nashville about the clothing. So the commercial was. He is a wrestler but I am the partner him, you know, the tactic match.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
Yes.
Penta
Was incredible experience for me man in my life. So now sometimes I text him, hey, how are you brother? Everything good? Yeah, yeah. She, you know, he come to the WrestleMania. I see him Hulk because I think we are good friends because both we are the same passion for the. Just a different sport but we are, we have the same passion for, for the sport, you know.
Host 2
Did you text him after WrestleMania?
Penta
Sorry?
Host 2
Did you text him after WrestleMania? Yeah, well, he was, he was cheering for Dominic.
Host 1
Well, I mean it was a big.
Penta
Moment your Dominic too, but he was like, he was.
Host 2
And he's a Penta guy cheering for Dominic.
Host 1
You know, my favorite part of that story is Penta that like the beginning of that story is maybe the most wrestling story that you could tell. Like I don't know who that is. I'll sell it to him. I'll sell.
Penta
It was incredible, man.
Host 1
That's awesome.
Penta
He's a good friend. Maybe why not in the future he come to WWE and partnership, you know, or talking match or I don't know why not.
Host 1
I mean I absolutely. And I feel like that's possible. I think it's totally possible.
Penta
Of course, man.
Host 1
I think it sounds amazing. And I also, I mean I think that that's part of. And we were having, we've been having conversations about this since you got to wwe. Part of you being in WWE is how it opens that space of fantasy matches. This could happen now. That could happen now. And I mean I look at it and I think a year ago if you had told me next week on Monday Night Raw AJ Styles and Penta are going to be a tag team, I'd be like this is ins. This is insane. But it's just real life. It's just next week. I mean, are you processing that? I'm sure even for you who has took the long road to get here, realizing that you got a Monday Night Raw tag team match with AJ Styles in your corner, that's a big deal.
Penta
Yeah, man. This is, I know this is the process for or and my personal opinion is my process for will become to big start here, you know. You know, now I know the next week. Me and AJ's. He is a big superstar. He is one of the best wrestlers in the world. It's like, okay, why not? He is my new partner for destroy every Judgment Day.
Host 1
Well, not every. Not every. Like, most of it.
Host 2
Every member.
Host 1
Not every member.
Host 2
Yes, every.
Host 1
A lot of members, but maybe not every single member.
Host 2
But if you had to target one.
Penta
A stupid member from the adjustment day.
Host 1
I don't know if you need.
Penta
I feel you have a problem with me, brother.
Host 1
Why not me? Not me.
Advertiser 1
Yes.
Penta
I feel. I feel like the gimmick with you is like, you hate Penta, right?
Host 1
No, no, I don't hate Penta. I don't hate Penta.
Penta
Because you love the stupid Dom, right?
Host 2
That's right.
Host 1
I'll tell you, there's two things I'm a fan of. Dominic, Mysterio. And also, I don't know if this will get lost in translation, but the other night.
Penta
Your choice. Good. Just friends. Your choice, Good. Your favorite wrestler, man, I know. Okay.
Host 1
He's the champ.
Penta
Time is the time and it is what it is. But later, I ask again. Okay.
Host 1
All right. Well, Penta, I. I mean, I do appreciate your time. I appreciate your time. I love you guys.
Penta
Thank you so much.
Host 1
Thanks for doing the show.
Penta
I'm ready for everything. And say. I want to say thank you for. For this interview. It's very, very funny for me and I'm tired, but no matter. I'm here with you guys. Thank you so much. Appreciate you doing it and all people, the WWE Universe. You know what? Cero, Medo and Dominic, thank you guys.
Host 2

Host 2
Go ahead.
Host 1
I'm a grown man.
Host 2
Are you? I mean, look at this basement.
Host 1
First of all, this is a basement of an absolute stud, okay? This is a great basement, okay? They're only an adult. No kid could afford this basement, okay?
Host 2
Do you see how many toys.
Host 1
They're collectibles, by the way, and a lot of them. Very rare. Brother loves right over there, okay? This is the. It's all great stuff here. I'm a grown man, okay? There is something about that Penta that puts me right back to being eight years old and being terrified of Papa Shango. He is a scary man. And I don't know if it's something in those eyes. I don't know if it's the skeleton jaw. I don't know if it's the fact that I can't see what's behind that mask, but through this screen, okay? I'm in New York in the beautiful Nazi M studio, okay? He's all the way in Louisville. And I. You know, I almost had to buy a new chair. Okay? I was terrified just now. And I'm not afraid to admit that.
Host 2
He was coming at you hard.
Host 1
I didn't know that. I didn't know that.
Host 2
He's listening. He's watching. He knows about you and Dominic.
Host 1
I mean, look, on one level, I'm pretty psyched about the fact that I've put my fandom out for Dominic like that, that it's getting around. On another level, it's now affecting my professional life and my personal life because it was really scary. On a third level, Penta rules.
Host 2
Penta's pretty awesome.
Host 1
He's pretty awesome. He had a great night. Penta Azul, he changed his mask for us, by the way. He was in all blue.
Host 2
How many do you think he travels with?
Host 1
Baker's dozen.
Host 2
Has to.
Host 1
Has to, right? I mean, I think it's because it's kind of like whatever you're feeling at the time. But I am, I mean, legitimately pumped, just even at the idea of Penta and AJ on the same team. Next week on Raw. I also. And we were talking to Penta about it. I loved seeing Chad Gable and Penta wrestling tonight because just the dynamics have shifted so much since Penta first got.
Host 2
To Monday night months ago.
Host 1
Isn't that Crazy.
Host 2
It's really crazy.
Host 1
But now you look at Penta and he's one of those guys that, like this Penta existed just as he exists now. Maybe not with that spectacular entrance, but just as he exists now. Look the same still. Penta and he was a superstar outside the wwe. He was a pro wrestler that you associated elsewhere. Now you just associate him as a WWE guy.
Host 2
I mean, in just five months. It's crazy because at the same time, it's like, wow, that was already five months ago. Yeah. In such a short period of time, Penta has. I didn't know anything about Penta before he arrived in wwe. He arrives in wwe, I'm all in on Penta. He has that ability to just suck you in.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
Whether it's the entrance. I mean, the entrance gets you right off the top.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
But then you watch the match and it continues and it grows and it builds throughout. It happened at that Raw debut on Netflix against Chad Gable and wow. We've come a long way.
Host 1
Right. Like, you're in and there hasn't been one moment where you've watched him going, I don't think I'm in anymore.
Host 2
No.
Host 1
Like, you're just further and further and further. He didn't win the intercontinental championship at WrestleMania. That was Dominic Mysterio that won that. But for the record. But who's to say he won't win it in the future at some point? It's a very, very exciting thing. I do find it interesting that the Judgment Day and Chad Gable keep kind of crossing streams as well as Grande Americano.
Host 2
Oh, Chad Gable seems to.
Host 1
Anybody knows him. Chad, don't forget, like Chad Gable went.
Host 2
On that brought him in.
Host 1
He's in. Grande Americano is an American, American made. He's a member of Chad Gable's faction.
Host 2
I just don't think I've ever seen them together at the same time.
Host 1
Which he gave was sick those two weeks.
Host 2
Oh, yeah, the doctor's note. That's right.
Host 1
He had a doctor's note. It was a long term doctor's note. Yeah.
Host 2
And it had the WWE letterhead on it. So, you know, it's a real doctor.
Host 1
Yeah. Yeah. And thank God he's okay, by the way. Thank God Chad Gable was healthy again. Healthy enough to wrestle on Monday Night Raw. But yeah, I, I, I, I'm, I'm interested to see this and also interested in the fact that Dominique Mysterio was not at the Judgment Day side on Monday Night Raw. Here he was. Maybe he was back in the back, like, letting them take Care of business.
Host 2
On the by themselves, learning about time zones. So maybe he got confused.
Host 1
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I'm sure, you know, just finding out how the Earth orbits is mind blowing.
Host 2
That's a lot. I think after that, it's like, I have to go home for tonight and really let this sink in.
Host 1
It's maybe the best response ever. Did you not know about time zones? And he goes, I don't care. I just, I mean, but that's why he's so great. He really does it.
Host 2
That's how I feel about daylight savings time. I don't care.
Host 1
Did you not know what time it is? I don't care. I don't care. What? I don't care. You should know this. Yeah, but I don't care. I don't care about that. I think it's great. Listen, listen. We have these discussions. They're fantastic. But I had Dominik Mysterio on a live not Sam wrestling podcast out there in Las Vegas.
Host 2
Which interview was that that week? Your 12th.
Host 1
We spent a lot of time together. We like each other. What can I tell you? But that's all to say, it was a great experience for everybody. That was there because there was something about seeing these podcasts, that these conversations happen live that is just a special experience. And there's going to be so many of those happening at Fanatics Fest. Of course. Fanatics Fest coming back to the Jacob Javit center in New York City June 20th through the 22nd. Grab your tickets now@fanatics fest.com and lock in your spot for an unforgettable weekend with the wwe. And I truly wonder when it comes to Fanatics Fest, if Becky lynch will be there. Because Becky lynch tonight showed a lot of disdain for the WWE fans. You know, dude did something that people do when they take a turn for the worse, when they get a little sour. You know, first they're sweet and then they're sour. They blame the fans and they blame the way the fans treated them. You know, I mean, Becky first said like, well, I didn't lose.
Host 2
Well, she. She didn't. I mean, who walked out of Backlash? Who walked out of Backlash back here?
Host 1
Lyra, Let me ask you this follow up question, okay? Because no, Lyra did need help. But. But what was the prize awarded to the winner of the match?
Host 2
The Intercontinental Champion.
Host 1
Who's got it?
Host 2
Well, Lyra does, but it's pretty cut and dry.
Host 1
Of course it matters. It's the Intercontinental Championship. If it didn't matter, why would Becky be fighting for it? It matters, actually, immensely. Lyra had to win a whole tournament to get it.
Host 2
Well, Becky would have wangs out. Becky would have had. Would have had championship gold if Lyra didn't blow it. Or what about if Becky after Wrestlemania?
Host 1
But Lyra wouldn't even be here if.
Host 2
It wasn't for Becky.
Host 1
Okay, Would she conceive her?
Host 2
I mean, she might as well have. Listen, in the world of wwe, she basically did Happy Mother's Day.
Host 1
Becky would have had gold if Becky.
Host 2
Hadn'T blown it back in blow anything. It was Liars fault they lost the.
Host 1
Tag titles and it was Becky's fault that she lost the Intercontinental title.
Host 2
No, no, it was no, no. That was no whatsoever. I mean, he got the better of her anyways.
Host 1
Oh, good, good. The better. You know what? The. You know, it's better than getting the better. Getting the championship. That's even better.
Host 2
I mean, I saw it Instagram a beautiful Mother's Day post, and she's winning at life anyways. Not like anybody can even beat.
Host 1
If I could celebrate Father's Day with the WWE Championship, I picked that. Although I wouldn't want to do the Intercontinental Championship because I would want Dominic to celebrate with that. I wouldn't want to take that.
Host 2
Listen, nobody cared about Lyra until Becky made her matter.
Host 1
Oh, I see. I see. You're buying that, huh?
Host 2
It's true.
Host 1
It is.
Host 2
Nobody cared about her.
Host 1
You like Lyra? I had Lyra on a live podcast. She's great. Everybody there was Happy to see her, but it doesn't sound like you think she's great.
Host 2
Leveled up since Becky's come back.
Host 1
Yeah. One of the main ways she got to level up was beating Becky Lynch. That was really helpful.
Host 2
All right.
Host 1
That's really helpful for Lyra Valkyria. She beat Becky lynch, by the way. Beat Becky lynch again.
Host 2
This is the second time she has defeated Becky Lynch.
Host 1
You got nxt, right?
Host 2
And Beck's Tea.
Host 1
Not anymore. But Becky said, okay, fine, fine. Then haters like me, right? Me affected. Yep. Affected Becky so much that she said that the people asked her, when she was gone, she didn't even miss wrestling. That's heartbreaking. This is a woman who once dreamed of achieving things in professional wrestling. But she said, as we said earlier on the podcast, it was because everybody was behind her when she was the underdog. Then all of a sudden, when she got successful, she wasn't relatable anymore.
Host 2
This is what happens in life. They want to see you do good, and then.
Host 1
And then they don't want to tear you right down. Look, that part I buy greatness. Prejudice is real. I feel it all the time, personally. Yeah, yeah, it's real. It's real.
Penta
Okay.
Host 2
You got a lot of haters out there.
Host 1
I got a lot of haters. It's crazy. It's crazy. Don't even go in. My app mentions it'll suck you in like quicksand. You'll never get out of there. But that's besides the point. That is true. And there were. And we talked to her on Ron recap about, you know, the Becky Hogan stuff, and that went everywhere because it's a real thing. Because people have carried that narrative, Whether you want to believe it or not, they have carried that narrative and did feel that way. And Becky has said, fine. She's leaning all the way in. It's basically what she said. She said, if. If. If you think I'm selfish, greedy, cutthroat, then I'll be selfish, greedy, and cutthroat. And that she said she is ready to make people feel what it's like to be held down by the man, which is really, you know, Internet wrestling vernacular that haters of Becky lynch have been accusing her of for some time. But if any, whether that's true or not, I'm just saying what that. What they did, that population was saying.
Host 2
Look, last week on the Raw recap, Becky made what I thought was a very good point. Shocking that. I think Becky lynch made a good point.
Host 1
She was great on the pot.
Host 2
I know it's very shocking. But I mean, she brought up, you know, oh, are you. Are you too old? Right?
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
And then she brought up the men's division, and there's a bunch of old guys there, and they won't step aside. Side. You know, we've seen people before and it says, oh, they can act that way because they've earned it. Look at all that they've accomplished. They can act that way. Why can't Becky? Why can't Becky be greedy?
Host 1
Now she's saying she's gonna hold people down.
Host 2
Go ahead. She should. She should have done that a long time ago. She can do whatever she wants.
Host 1
Hold people down. That's not nice.
Host 2
She doesn't need to be nice. She's not here to make friends, here to make money, here to make. Here to win championships while she make money.
Host 1
She done a backlash. I tell you what was going.
Host 2
I'm giving you a death stare for all the listeners. Becky's right. All right. Leave her alone.
Host 1
I'm anxious to see where it all goes for Becky. I like the fire. I like the new motivation. I like the idea. I'm not a person who feels greatness prejudice towards people. I like to see people just be great for as long as humanly possible. There was no part of me. I wanted Tom Brady to keep playing until his arm fell off. I want Aaron Rodgers to keep playing, like, no matter how much people get sick of it.
Host 2
Maybe he should stop talking.
Host 1
That's not what he's great at. I'll go with you on that. That's not the thing that the greatness prejudice is about. There's things that he's better at than that. Sure, sure. But I'm not like one of these people that are like, oh, yeah, you got to quit while you're on top. Absolutely not. If you're that great, you know what you do?
Host 2
Date a 24 year old and make them throw you off the field.
Host 1
Do whatever you need to do. Keep going until you are not happy doing what you're doing anymore. Right. Go until the wheels fall off.
Host 2
All right.
Host 1
And I think that Becky is far from any wheels.
Host 2
The wheels are not. No.
Host 1
And Becky may, when I was watching her right when she's getting fired up and she was like, okay, I'm going to do exactly, exactly what you don't want me to do. I was like, oh, we may see Becky, believe it or not, actually level up. Like, the idea that Becky has already reached pinnacles of stardom, the likes of which people didn't think was whatever happened for anybody in the division, Becky does it shatters glass ceilings and then cuts this promo where I'm like, I wonder if there are higher levels to get to. I think there might be.
Host 2
There definitely might be. And I love seeing this side of Becky lynch because there was a lot of people who were critical of Big Time Becks.
Host 1
Yes.
Host 2
I was not one of them. I thought Big Time Becks ruled. But I think this the man, the fiery version of the man, whatever we're gonna call it, this could be. This could be big.
Host 1
It's gonna. It's. It's gonna be a lot of fun. And then, of course, the main event tonight was one to write home about all this talk about the future of the women's division and what NXT has to offer. It was Julia and Roxanne Perez versus IO sky and Rhea Ripley. I like the idea of, okay, NXT has been boldly chest out saying we have the best women's division in wrestling.
Host 2
For, like, over a year.
Host 1
Right, Right. And if you have anything to say about it, come stop us from saying it.
Host 2
And I have yet.
Host 1
And I love that. I love that whole attitude. I love everything about that because it's like, yeah, keep saying it until somebody stops you from saying it. If it's not true, it won't last very long.
Host 2
You can just say you're the best every day until someone calls you out on it. Right.
Host 1
I made a career out of it, so. So seeing that happen, I think it brought out a new side of both EOS Guy and Rhea Ripley. Because when you're in the position that they're in, they're not ready to cut. They're the top of their division. They don't want new people coming in and being like, oh, we're better than your whole division. Like, we're the better division. Like, they need. They're not only fighting Roxanne Perez and Julia from nxt, and as opponents in this match, they are fighting them in a way to say, like, no, I understand you're the future, but the present is still the present and we're not here to be replaced.
Host 2
Also, EO and RIA both cut their teeth in NXT 100%.
Host 1
So they get it. They get the hunger. They know what's happening and they know how hard they had to work to get to the position that they're in.
Host 2
And it's a different ball game when you get up to RAW and Smackdown.
Host 1
100%.
Host 2
The travel aspect. I mean, Rhea Ripley just got back from Australia. EO Sky's the champion. She's doing countless interviews and appearances and all of those.
Host 1
And what were we just talking about with Jay? The level of people like, hey, by the way, we have a whole fleet of opponents waiting for you.
Host 2
And EO felt that after she won the match tonight with Ria. And where did Ria's eyes go?
Host 1
Right to the championship, Right. Went full Randy Orton on her eyes, locked straight on that championship title, going, hey, that's what I'm after. We're we, like, we did a great job as a team. But as soon as that bell rang, Rio was done with it. And it's one. It didn't care who knew that this was her only goal and that she was not happy to be like, you know what, Eo, you enjoy your title reign. No, I'm coming for that championship.
Host 2
And the women from nxt, as great as they are, Rhea and IO tonight got the better because of a miscommunication.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
Where Roxanne hit Julia. Whoops.
Host 1
Whoops. Look what happens. But I mean, it's also. There's an experience factor.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
That goes into all of that. This feel of like, you've been there before. But regardless, like, let's not take away the fact that EOS Guy, Rhea Ripley, Julia and Roxanne Perez all main evented Monday Night Raw. And that's massive. However you want to slice it. And, and, and what's the note that we leave on that has people talking, that has people going, what happens next? Rhea Ripley and IYO sky being on the same page, but not really.
Host 2
Not really all about that goal.
Host 1
And there is no. And this is the thing about Rhea Ripley. This is what makes Rhea Ria that you're like, there is something in you that goes, yeah, Eos guy's literally the best. She's the best wrestler. But that belongs to Rhea Ripley. Like, Ria. Ria's existence just screams champion. Tell me I'm wrong.
Host 2
You're not wrong. It. It honestly feels kind of weird to watch her do her entrance without holding up a title.
Host 1
And I get it. You want IO to be the champion.
Host 2
I do.
Host 1
Rules.
Host 2
I love iyo's celebration.
Host 1
She's going to.
Host 2
She's going to her head.
Host 1
But, I mean, but that's it, right? She's sitting there with one finger pointing to her head. Meanwhile, on the other side of her head, Rhea Ripley is concocting a plan to take that championship back. Right. Don't enjoy yourself too much. That's the less. That's the lesson of the whole show. Hey, Jay. Uso don't enjoy this. Hey, iyo, don't enjoy this because it all and the second you go, man, this is great, huh? It goes away. Well, now that we've given you that positive note, thank you all for being here on Raw recap. We have a huge Monday night Raw coming next week with AJ Styles and Penta on the same team with Jay USO versus Braun Breaker. And we will be here to recap it all for Megan Morant. I am Sam Roberts.
