We have a new women's World champion. Seth Rollins is going to be on the show, even though he and CM Punk just brawl through an entire building. Jey USO may have had a beast awakened within him. Rumble with one of the most unexpected results ever. And then tonight, we're literally, we're going through our little notepads. We'll talk about this, maybe we'll talk about that. Maybe we'll start with this, maybe we'll start with that. And then we look up and Iyo sky is the new Women's World Champion. Megan, did people, including me, not give Iyo enough credit?

[Megan Morant]

I did not. Hand up, hand up. I did not. Because, in fact, before this match even began, I said to you during the entrances, what's IO going to do at WrestleMania? And you said, I don't know. We should probably wait for this match. I'm like, ria's not losing, right?

[Sam Roberts]

And I said, I said this. Of course, of course she's not losing.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah. So then what's EO going to do?

[Sam Roberts]

I don't know. We'll see what we'll see with the outcome. And then, boom, we see this. The fireworks are going off. And new WWE Women's World Champion. Those Rhea Ripley. Side plates don't come off that championship very often.

[Megan Morant]

I mean, Rhea Ripley has not lost a one on one matchup to someone not named liv Morgan since 2021.

[Sam Roberts]

When did you become Maggie Stats?

[Megan Morant]

You know, I read all the emails. Do you know who it was to?

[Sam Roberts]

It wasn't Liv Morgan. I'm Becky Lynch. Queen Zelina, first of all, maybe it's time to put a little more respect on Queen Zelina's name. Just for that alone. But so you're saying in. What's that, 2021. So like four years she's lost Liv Morgan.

[Megan Morant]

Well, of course not named Liv Morgan.

[Sam Roberts]

Who hasn't lost to Live Morgan. But Rhea comes back, she gets that Women's World Championship. And every conversation about WrestleMania has been, well, who's Rhea going to face? Charlotte wins the Royal Rumble. Oh, maybe it'll be Charlotte and Ria. Oh, I guess it's going to be Bianca and Rhea. Let's be honest. The graphic comes out after Bianca Belair wins the elimination chamber and we go, oh, you know, I guess it could be Bianca and Ria. No, it says Ria or iyo, but people go, oh, that's cute.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah. I mean, even after Bianca wins, you have the moment where Rhea walks out and stands behind Bianca.

[Sam Roberts]

Yeah.

[Megan Morant]

You're like, oh, that's our WrestleMania match. And then, wait, what's IO doing? Oh, yeah, that's right. Iyo has the match on Monday Night Raw. Never did I ever think that IYO would be walking out as the Women's World Champion.

[Sam Roberts]

And shame on us. IYO wins a lot. IYO is really, really good at pro wrestling and she's won multiple different championships. The idea that Iyo sky could go into any match and we'd be sitting there with it being a foregone conclusion that she's gonna lose is really. That's us taking our eye off the ball because we're so smart. Because we can fantasy book WrestleMania because we already know what? No. Rhea just lost the championship in the main event of Monday Night Raw.

[Megan Morant]

It was so shocked because Rhea Ripley is so dominant. Yeah, same. She's like, the Tush Push, you know it's coming, right? Like, everybody knows. Oh, my God, they're on the one yard line. The Tush Push is coming, but no matter what you do, you cannot stop it. That's Rhea Ripley. IYo sky had the answer, but I guess.

[Sam Roberts]

But everybody outside of Philadelphia doesn't hate Rhea Ripley like they do the Tush Push. However, Rhea Ripley. So two things really interesting about Rhea Ripley Is she almost foretold this. She was on Twitter, like, earlier today, talking about this match and going, the history between me and IO is so much deeper than people even give it credit. It was Rhea Ripley that was building up this match almost to the point where I don't know if she was like, you know, I just want people to know it's a really strong opponent that I'm beating. I don't think that anybody thought, oh, yeah, I should remember that iyo sky is going to win this thing. And then Rhea Ripley makes a huge mistake. She goes outside the ring. Bianca Belair is there to observe. As the person who won the elimination chamber, she's there to observe. Rhea Ripley gets distracted. And again, just like I did. Just like you did. Takes your eye off the ball, forgets about this dominant force that's in the ring waiting for you. And that's all it took. Boom. 1, 2, 3. The pyro's going off. We have a championship win, and IO's going to WrestleMania against Bianca Belair. As of right now. That's what it looks like to me.

[Megan Morant]

As of right now, Rhea Ripley is not going to WrestleMania as of right.

[Sam Roberts]

Now, which is so wild because you would never have the conversation. How does Rhea ripley get to WrestleMania?

[Megan Morant]

You're like, oh, she's there.

[Sam Roberts]

But now you're kind of left with that conversation now. Also, by the way, very interesting. Bianca Belair did not just win the chamber on Saturday. She also saw her tag team partner get beat down by her former tag team partner. When Jade Cargill come back, came back.

[Megan Morant]

She'S still a little beat up about that.

[Sam Roberts]

But she wants to say anything. She didn't want to say anything.

[Megan Morant]

She's not taking sides.

[Sam Roberts]

But because she was saying things inside the chamber, she was slamming on the walls and screaming. She didn't want to say anything. Which I guess is smart when you think about strategy, right? Because that way, she's just looking forward towards WrestleMania. Whatever's going on there is going to have to wait because there's a women's world title match. But it's. It's with IO Sky. I mean, what's this going to look like at WrestleMania? There were a lot of people that wanted Iyo sky to win the Royal Rumble. There were a lot of people that wanted Iyo sky and Rhea Ripley to be their WrestleMania match. IO and Rhea got one step ahead of it, dated on Monday Night Raw in buffalo. And now Iyo's the one going to WrestleMania against Bianca Belair. What do you think that's Gonna look like.

[Megan Morant]

I mean, you have two of the most dominant women in the industry, but two completely different styles. Right, Right. Iyo what she can do off the top rope. I mean, she's the genius of the sky for a reason. But then Bianca, with her strength and athleticism.

[Sam Roberts]

Yeah, yeah, I think it's gonna get dirty. Yeah, I think it's gonna get real dirty. I think that EO is on a mission to prove herself, and maybe that's something that happens. Right. I think that when Bianca Belair was part of a tag team, people start to forget what a great singles wrestler you are, why you're always a candidate for the main event of that division. And I think the same thing about eo. I think so much time in damage control, I think so much time in a faction, in a team, people started to forget on just a singles one, on one main event, championship level, how good this EOS guy is. And I mean, Buffalo agreed. They were. They were bringing the house down with their cheers.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah.

[Sam Roberts]

Amazing. Amazing. That's not the only thing that we saw. As I said, we're going to have Seth Rollins on the show tonight, but Seth Rollins and CM Punk. So I want to talk about the fact that CM Punk, something got under his skin at the Chamber, and it was more than just the stomp.

[Megan Morant]

Something.

[Sam Roberts]

A lot of things. Several things, because CM Punk came out and went into full pipe bomb mode. He dropped it on a member of the board of directors, for God's sakes. The final boss, who, according to CM Punk, is just Dwayne. And he put stank on that name, too.

[Megan Morant]

Are you concerned at all after hearing some of the words that CM Punk said, like, are you concerned at all that. That maybe any of it could be directed at you?

[Sam Roberts]

Why would it be directed at me?

[Megan Morant]

I mean, I don't know. You're. You're kind of a bald fraud yourself. No, I'm not, Sam.

[Sam Roberts]

First of all, I'm bald by choice.

[Megan Morant]

You had a big weekend. We all know you had a very big weekend. You know, you got your podcast shouted out by Dwayne.

[Sam Roberts]

No, no, no, no, don't. No, I won't. By the way, I won't if you will. No, I won't.

[Megan Morant]

But I don't know, maybe. Maybe your ego's getting a little.

[Sam Roberts]

I don't have any ego.

[Megan Morant]

Bald fraud.

[Sam Roberts]

That's what he said about other people. He said about John Cena, too. Now, obviously, John Cena's gotten to a lot of people's feelings, but I wonder if part of it is CM Punk going, you know, I used to be this, like, badass guy. I used to be the one that got everybody upset. And he kind of walks into the chamber going, hey, John, it's good to see you again. John hits him with an I missed you. CM Punk hits him with an, I missed you, too. The next thing you know, CM Punk's eating a stomp. John Cena is not only taking advantage of it, but selling his soul. We'll talk about John Cena in a minute. But CM Punk comes out. He's standing on that table. He's laying in to the Rock, calling him delusional, calling his championship a fake title, saying that he earns his title. I go, what's this guy's problem with the Rock? Then he starts going after himself, only because he gave John Cena the benefit of the doubt and accused, which everybody did. Well, John Cena's got to do what John Cena's got to do. But he accused John Cena of selling BS to children. And he didn't say bs. He said the BS words wasn't bleeped. And he made it clear that he did not quit in the Elimination Chamber, that he did not give up.

[Megan Morant]

And he said he still hasn't given up on the main event of WrestleMania.

[Sam Roberts]

Well, I mean, good luck. Your opportunities are gone. It's over. I don't. I don't know what the road to the main event is. After you lost the Royal Rumble, you lost the Elimination Chamber. I love CM Punk, but I don't understand what the next thing is. I did enjoy him saying that John Cena is going to make a wish that he never saw CM Punk. That's a. That's a good play on words.

[Megan Morant]

I liked it, too.

[Sam Roberts]

But, I mean, here's the thing. We're all having fun, and we're listening to CM Punk go after the Rock go after.

[Megan Morant]

And he's. Everyone and the crowd is loving it. They're like, more, please, more.

[Sam Roberts]

Because there's nothing like CM Punk going after sacred cows. There is nothing like CM Punk saying the things you're not supposed to say about the people you're not supposed to say it about. There's something that feels dangerous. Even though John Cena is a part of the WWE and he's one of the performers in the wwe, there is this thing where you go, no, John Cena's royalty. You don't want to. You don't want to ruffle his feathers. Even though the Rock is on the show and the Rock is doing this, and the Final boss is doing that. You go, ah, you don't want to get the final boss upset. He actually is a member of the board of directors. You know, you don't want to. You don't want to push the line too far. And CM Punk goes, no, I'm happy to do it.

[Megan Morant]

I'm okay with that.

[Sam Roberts]

I'm absolutely happy to do it. And then before. And I'm going, what's he going to say about the guy he's actually mad at before he has the opportunity?

[Megan Morant]

As he was building towards it, I'm like, is he gonna have anything left?

[Sam Roberts]

Oh, Morales, by the way, CM Punk has never, in the decades that I've been watching him, has never had a problem running out of ammunition.

[Megan Morant]

Wow, he's fired up.

[Sam Roberts]

I mean, he's fired.

[Megan Morant]

We haven't even gotten to Seth Rollins yet and he's at a 10.

[Sam Roberts]

Well, guess what? He doesn't need words for Seth Rollins because when he does get to Seth Rollins, the music hits immediately. And as soon as Seth's face is there, as the kids say on site, CM Punk jumps off that table and goes right after this guy. And you know, we see brawls on WWE TV all the time, but there is something about watching bald fists collide with faces that you just go, you can't. You're glued to the screen. You can't look away. These were two angry giants pounding the ever loving, you know what out of each other.

[Megan Morant]

It was an all time way to start Monday Night Raw.

[Sam Roberts]

It was awesome.

[Megan Morant]

It was an all time brawl between two legends, right, that have legitimate issues that we've watched build since CM Punk made his return at Survivor Series.

[Sam Roberts]

Yeah, and I want to, I want to talk more about that. I want to talk about how this match came to, this rivalry came to be and the buildup and. And who got the better of who on Monday Night Raw. I also want to get to Seth Rollins. Seth Rollins is waiting for us. We got him on the, on his bus coming right after all of this went down. So we got to take a pause right here. Tell you a little bit about fanatics. When we come back. Seth Rollins is going to be on the Raw. Recap. Megan, you remember the other day, I was walking around my Austin 316 shirt. Seth Rollins is here with us and joining us on the first episode of Raw recap. Especially immediately. This is immediately after what we saw on Monday Night Raw. Tonight, we'll get into everything that you went through physically and emotionally. But first, the news coming out is that next week, Monday Night Raw is at Madison Square Garden and you're going to go inside of a steel cage with CM Punk. I would say that the Netflix premiere of Monday Night Raw and the Madison Square Garden episode of Monday Night Raw would have to be the most significant episodes of Monday Night Raw this year. Both of those episodes are you and CM Punk in huge matches. As somebody who grew up in wrestling, is there any part of you that is looking forward to the significance of wrestling in a main event steel cage match inside a building like Madison Square Garden? Or has CM Punk completely consumed that part of Your brain.

[Seth Rollins]

Look, look, I'm gonna be honest with you. I am coming right off of getting punched in the mouth and punching somebody in the mouth. My adrenaline is like at an all time high right now. I got like, my lungs are bleeding. The only good thing to happen tonight, aside from me, you need to punch CM Punk in the face a lot. Is that Adam Pearce finally made the right call. Locked CM Punk and myself in a cage next week in the Garden. And I can finally make sure that this doesn't even make it to WrestleMania after. I feel like he's exhausted all of his opportunities. He's got one favor, some ace up his sleeve, whatever it is, like, I've got no other choice. He's left me no other choice but to hurt him and take him out. So, like, to answer your question, when you talk about significance, yes, I love all that. I am a history buff of this industry. I understand the significance of cage matches in Madison Square Garden, the building itself, like all that rocks. I'm all about creating moments. But for me, all I feel right now is just this urge to wrap my hands around somebody's neck and like, hurt them. You know, that's where I'm at right now. I've reached my breaking point with this guy.

[Megan Morant]

Well, and Seth, you've made it very clear how much you hate CM Punk. You've even said before that he's a guy you wish bad things will happen to. I mean, you've had so many different rivalries throughout your career, but it seems like this hate with Punk goes to another, another level. What is it about Punk that makes you hate him so much?

[Seth Rollins]

I mean, look at the guy. He is hypocrite. If the world is going to sit there and talk about, oh, listen to all these wonderful, great things he said about, you know, John Cena and the decision he made at the Rumble and, and, and, and the Rock. Dwayne, you know, dude, you've done everything and more that you're accusing these guys of. You're, you're a coward. You're a fraud. You gave on your dream to main event WrestleMania years ago. Years ago. I mean, we don't have to go through all the things that he did in his time away before he came back. Like, I, I, I've told this story a million times. And the fact that he has the gallery, the gall to go out there and spit what he thinks is truth about these guys when he just won't even look in the mirror and talk to himself about all the mistakes that he's made. That have made other people suffer. That's the thing. He's made other people suffer and never owned up to it. Okay, so that is a microcosm. Tonight is just a microcosm of all the reasons that I hate this guy. That's why it's different. There's love in other places. There's. There's love for Roman Reigns. Do I. Do I agree with what he stands for? Absolutely not. Absolutely not. But there's a seed of love in there somewhere, all right? And that makes it more painful. That makes it more painful when I get in there and have to do what I have to do to him. So CM Punk, there's no seed of love. That is gone. He erased that a long time ago. And it's so. It's pure, unadulterated hatred. That's all I have for him. And I hate.

I hate.

You mentioned Sam, you mentioned, you know, the Netflix debut in this match at the Garden. I hate that he's a part of it with me. I hate it so much.

That's what. That's actually what I wanted to ask you about. Because, I mean, what's. To me as a fan watching what makes this so intriguing is that there's no sort of, okay, these are two guys doing a nice storyline for us. This is something that I've known as somebody that watches everything. You talked about hating this man 10 months before he returned to WWE. Very publicly, you were very free with your opinions of CM Punk both before and after he was in wwe. Yet now that you're at the top of your game in WWE, I mean, you came off of WrestleMania last season with me and other people saying that Rollins was the MVP of that entire not only build to, but the show itself. And now, as we approach another WrestleMania as wrestling has the most eyeballs on it, you are attached at the hip, for good or bad, to CM Punk, who at one point you never wanted to see in a locker room again.

[Seth Rollins]

Yeah, I. What's the question, man? I mean, what's the question, Sam?

I don't know what you're asking me here.

What I'm asking is, is there any part of you that goes, maybe I need to just ignore him? Maybe I need to not give him that attention. Maybe I need to not put him and allow him to share the spotlight that I've created for myself?

The thing is, I tried that. When. When he first showed up on the scene, if you remember, the first time we stepped in a ring together, I told him, stay out of my business, Stay out of my way. I don't got time for you. I don't want to share the same breath as you. And he wouldn't go away. Even after he got hurt, he wouldn't go away. And he kept chirping and he kept coming at me and he kept acting like he was. Like he was saving this company. Saving it from what? I've been saving it from you for years and years and years. You are not the messiah of this business. You are not. Are not a martyr, man. Like, the business didn't get better and grow because of you. It did because of me. And for guys like me, people who stuck around, like Randy Orton, like Sami Zayn, like Kevin Owens, even guys like Roman Reigns, okay? That's how the business blew up. Guys who stayed, Drew, Dolph, Ziggler, Seamus. The people who suffered and grew and helped the business, and even, to an extent, Cody Rhodes. Okay? We're the reason this place is as big as it's gotten. You're not the martyr. You leaving wasn't a catalyst for anything, all right? And I had to fight you trying to tear this place down for years to make it what it is. And so you. You come back in, you act like you're all this. And after a year, I. I couldn't take anymore. I. I had to do something about it. Especially when you start talking about main eventing WrestleMania like it's your dream. Give me a break. You coward.

It's almost beyond a wrestling story as much as it is like a life story, that there is something about being responsible for the actions that you take.

I mean, CM Punk has a way about him where he can push buttons.

That nobody else can push. I mean, we heard Seth say it. Like, there's even love for Roman Reigns.

Like, Roman Reigns, that was a wild thing.

A lot of people's buttons, but not in the same way that Punk has.

Well, it is interesting to me. One of the reasons that Roman is not on television right now is because he's still paying for some of the sins that he committed as he was leading the bloodline, you know, and the fact that Seth Rollins hasn't forgiven Roman Reigns either. But you're right. He said it himself. There's something deeper that goes into the hatred of CM Punk. And we've seen this before, right? We saw it with Drew McIntyre. Like, there's. There's something about Punk that brings out, like, an absolute vitriol.

Oh, he was. During Monday Night Raw, Drew was digging up old.

Right. Hyperbole. We thought, not hyperbole. When this face is made in an instant, everything changes. Megan, you've got to understand, for 10 years plus, all of us that were watching WWE, we were booing John Cena. Why won't he just turn? Why won't he just turn? Why won't he just turn? And he never did, to the point where he came back and we were all going, you know what? Those of us that were there, we get what you did. We know what you did, Jon. We're ready to appreciate you. We're ready to go on wwe, shop with fanatics and buy a T shirt in every single different color in every single different city that you go to, because we are that happy that you're back. Because there is almost a nostalgia to it. Right?

He earned it. Right? You earned this year retirement tour. We're going to celebrate and relive these moments and cheer on John Cena because he earned every second of it. And he's earned all of the cheers, all of the admiration he didn't need to qualify for the elimination chamber match. He earned his way in by everything that he did.

Right? And you're 100% right in the sense that what he said after the Royal Rumble was a villainous thing to say. For him to just show up because what he said when he was coming back, I'm gonna earn everything. I'm gonna qualify, I'm gonna do this. My win loss record isn't that great. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Shows up after the Royal Rumble, bummed out that Jey USO eliminated him, and he said, what's best for business is me going to the main event of WrestleMania and putting myself in the chamber match. Anybody else, we would have been this as a villain. This is a bad guy. This is a selfish person. Yeah, that's what I said. Is John Cena getting selfish? But we all said, nah, he's right. He does deserve it. We chose to ignore it because we said, there's no world that exists that John Cena is not a great guy. And then all of a sudden, he's in the ring and he's making happy faces after coming out of a chamber match.

[Megan Morant]

You know, I'm glad you said this because, you know, as hindsight's 20 20. Right.

[Sam Roberts]

Yeah.

[Megan Morant]

We all know now that John Cena is a bad guy.

[Sam Roberts]

He's a bad guy.

So we look back on it and go, oh, I did kind of notice that. Yeah, that was kind of bothering me.

But I thought he was just being such a super baby face as the term is used in wrestling.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah.

That, like, this is just who he is now. And maybe the person that he's portraying is a person who is so happy to get another year to do this thing that he loves.

I mean, it is his last elimination chamber.

[Sam Roberts]

And he goes ahead and he goes, nah, blank them kids. That's what he said. That's what he said. I mean, he turns on Cody like crazy. Seeing that face change and seeing him stand with the Rock, you don't understand. The Rock and John Cena were not on the same page. The Rock and John Cena. I mean, there's a show called Rivals. One of the things it's about is the Rock and John Cena. That's how big this rivalry is. And instead, John Cena decides to team with the Rock. He puts the Rolex that represented that Rolex that was once Dusty's on his knuckles. Even Michael Cole didn't want to believe it. He said, it's got to be brass knuckles. Pat said, no, it's the Rolex.

I'd like, be careful with that Rolex.

And he knocked. The Rolex will stand the test of time. But he knocked Cody absolutely senseless. Travis Scott got in a shot at Cody Rhodes. But, I mean, I just. I never thought in a million years, as many times as it was, like, can you imagine if. As many times as it was presented as a hypothetical, I truly never thought in a million years that he would actually turn heel during his retirement run. I said, that's just. It's. It's going to be one of those things, and it's almost going to build it, a legacy. He's the one guy that never did.

[Megan Morant]

Now, is this kind of like joining a super team or like ring chasing? You know, like when Kevin Durant joined the Golden State Warriors. Now is very different because Kevin Durant did not have a championship where John.

[Sam Roberts]

Cena has championship team.

[Megan Morant]

Yes. But when he joined the warriors, it was like, really, you're going to join a super team?

[Sam Roberts]

I mean, it's.

[Megan Morant]

I mean, this looks like a super team to me.

This is a. This is a bigger villain heel move than when LeBron held the press conference, let everybody know he was bouncing out of Cleveland.

Yeah.

You know what I mean? This is bigger than that. I honestly, like. And, you know, I'm a historian when it comes to this stuff. I watch wrestling constantly and I'm telling you that this is in the conversation already for the biggest turn of all time. It's in that. I mean, to not put it in the top five is to lie. To not put it in the top three is to be unaware. And that's where the conversation, this conversation starts at top three. And it ain't three. That's how crazy this really was. It changed everything. The whole world was talking about it.

Nobody, Everyone.

Yeah. And then he comes in the press conference, drops the microphone. I mean, but what we saw on RAW tonight, what to me added to it was not just the presentation of what had happened, adding in the heroic music, doing all this stuff. But, you know, I'm a graphic guy. To me, the match is not official until I see a graphic. I've said this all my career as the podcast Tribal Chief. Okay? When I saw that graphic and it was nasty John Cena, it was bad John Cena. And all of a sudden you go, wait a minute, this is the John Cena that put himself in the chamber. This is the John Cena that showed up for the Rumble, then left again. He showed up for what did he show up for Raw? Left again. Showed up for the Rumble. Left again. Showed up for the chamber. Left again. I said, it was right in front of us the whole time. And now I'm looking at this match graphic and I've, I've said this. I can't wait to hear what Cody Rhodes has to say on Friday. Because as many people, you could say whatever you want about Cody Rhodes, there is no bigger good guy when confronted with a supervillain. And in an instant, John Cena became a supervillain.

[Megan Morant]

And I felt it so much when Cody Rhodes told the Rock to go F himself.

[Sam Roberts]

He did. He did. I thought they were going to censor that on YouTube. My 8 year old found out the.

[Megan Morant]

Hard way as soon as he said, because I was fully ready for Cody to sell his soul to the Rock.

[Sam Roberts]

You were.

I was ready for it. I was ready.

I mean, this is it.

Because I know, I thought, there's no way that we're gonna see Cena as a bad guy.

You thought Cody was gonna sell his soul?

I did.

Oh, the American Nightmare would be so disappointed.

And when Cody said, I might have thought dead too, when Cody said, go F yourself, I said, that's my champion.

You stood up for it.

That is my champion. And that is what Cody Rhodes does, because he's that big of a baby face.

Yeah. I mean, he's, he's, he's the Man. And in an instant, you went from an interesting WrestleMania match to one of the most compelling main events of all time. Am I, am I, am I putting the cart before the horse? Am I, am I, am I being too grandiose about this?

Like, I couldn't believe it. I can't wait to hear what John Cena's got to say. But at the, at, at the elimination chamber, somehow this amazing piece of memorabilia was created. He's not as big into the entertainment.

No, but the entertainment part is. Is crucial. I wrote down his is phrasing. He said that, like, he. Basically. The degenerate audience. He called them. He. They. That the. The. The. He's. That Otis is like Jay uso, that he just wants to entertain this degenerate audience.

[Megan Morant]

He's comparing Jay USA to Akira Tozawa to Otis. Like, right. He's putting these. All these superstars in one box.

[Sam Roberts]

And it does beg the question, is the gig to win matches or is it to entertain fans?

[Megan Morant]

Can it be both?

It should be both. The best do both. But I think Gunther's argument is that one will always beat the other.

Gunther, if you're worried more about entertaining than you are about winning matches, Gunther's gonna beat you.

I think sometimes people forget Otis is a lot of fun. Otis says things in a very funny way. You do notice.

And he's athletic. Like, he's doing the caterpillar size of his neck. I mean, insane. Insane. But the fact that he can. He can do that caterpillar as well. The fact that he can move as quick as he can. Like, Otis is a bad boy.

He's athletic. Don't underestimate him.

And I think he might not have a belt that can fit him.

I'm sure he has a belt that gives. They make extenders too. Yeah, but. Yeah. And I don't know. I mean, Gunther going out, it's like Gunther gets himself in great shape, and now all of a sudden, he's. He's got criticisms for everybody.

But he did get himself in great shape. He is our world champion. I do find it ironic that he went to a town down under. Like, a town down under came out to help Gunther. And I don't know if he put him up to it or if they did it on their own, but a town down under kind of fall into that category of entertaining fans.

I mean, it usually turns into a fight, but that's because Grayson sticks his foot in his mouth.

[Sam Roberts]

I mean, again, you. Or you talk about people who know how to push buttons. I would say Grayson Waller falls into that category. Well, but I loved Fired Up Jey uso towards the end of the show when he said that, yeah, that Gunther had put him to sleep, but he had awakened a beast in Jey uso. Gunther promised Jey uso. And I loved this, right. Because you win the Royal Rumble and it's a long time before WrestleMania. And the idea that the beginning of the year, you know, February 1st, you know what the match is for WrestleMania. That's a long time to tell a story. And Gunther got right in front of it and said, I'm gonna make your life a living hell for 10 weeks. Yeah. For every single week is gonna suck for you. And at first, there was this hesitance, and I think Jay was. It almost seemed like he was listening to critics. Why Jey uso win the Royal Rumble? Why? I think he's let that go. It seems like he's let that go because instead of going, oh, boy, Gunther's got it in for me. Gunther's gonna do the. Instead of doing any of that. He's like, oh, you're gonna make my life a living hell. I'm move right in. Do it. I'm gonna walk through the fire. I'm the Khaleesi. I'm going right through it. Gunther, bring it. And I wonder if we've ever seen a scenario where in a long term way, Gunther is saying, I'm gonna destroy you. And there's somebody stepping up to him going, please, please destroy me.

[Megan Morant]

[Sam Roberts]

Yeah.

[Megan Morant]

And not only did we see Jey uso take action in the ring to physically assault Gunter, but then he goes backstage and he cuts this promo that people are saying, like, is this the best promo that Jey uso's ever cut? I mean, he's very possibly fired up. He's done with all of the people, whether it be on the Internet, in the locker room, or Gunter himself that are doubting him.

[Sam Roberts]

That's right.

[Megan Morant]

And he's ready to prove people at WrestleMania now. He's a long way to go until WrestleMania. But I love that after we saw Jey Uso for the past two weeks, kind of down on his back a little bit because Gunter sent a message, a strong message. And now Jay USO's fighting back.

[Sam Roberts]

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I love, I love. You know, they talk about maximizing minutes and making the most of your time. It's like, if you ever had questions about this guy, he answered him. And you do wonder too, like, what's the vibe going to be coming off of this Raw and going towards WrestleMania? Is it going to be as fun? Right? Because of course, coming out of the Royal Rumble, you're celebrating, oh, look at me, I'm a big winner. But now it's like, no, no, no, no, no. It's time to get into beast mode because you are going to war. You are going to have the battle of your life.

[Megan Morant]

And obviously we're going to have fun during the Jey USO entrance. We always do. Everybody has fun. Jey USO has fun. Who's ever with Jey USO has fun. The crowd has fun. But when the entrance is over, what we need the switch to flip. And that's what we saw to Jay.

[Sam Roberts]

Tonight and what happened. But even the entrance, Gunther's ruined it. He's like, hey, keep doing the entrance. I'm going to beat you up during your entrance. There's no time for you to be having fun anymore. Jey uso. I think that, that, that to me is the most interesting part, that, like, Jey uso is not in a position Where Gunther's gonna allow him to have any fun. I don't even think J USO is going to be able to enjoy Waffle House because Gunther will be there, and he's like. And you know what Gunther's gonna say? The tax they put on each individual egg is going to be the least of your problems when I show up to the waffle.

[Megan Morant]

And have you seen the price of eggs lately?

[Sam Roberts]

They're skyrocketing. Okay? But that's the least. This is how dangerous Gunther is. That's what I'm saying. Okay. And that's what I wonder if Jay will still give himself those moments to be fun. Jey uso or if he realizes we're heading. We're in March. Like this thing is coming up. We're talking about this as now as big as WrestleMania 40 was, 41 is going to be bigger. The promise was made months ago. We all said really. Now we're saying really? And Jay USO is a big part of this. It's not a party. You know what I mean? It's not a party. Because if it was a party, Gunther wouldn't go. No, he doesn't like parties. He doesn't like to party. I'll tell you who does like to party. Dominik Mysterio. Dominic Mysterio loves to play. He's my guy. He's so cool. He's so cool. He's the man. And the Judgment Day, you know, it's real.

[Megan Morant]

They keep seem frustrated.

[Sam Roberts]

Well, they keep talking like, Dominic Mysterio really wants to add to the Judgment Day.

[Megan Morant]

And who could he want to add? That's what I don't understand.

[Sam Roberts]

I don't know. Maybe you heard about this podcast. He's like, maybe I should give Sam.

Oh, God.

You know what I mean? Could we do the recap from the Judgment Day?

It seems like the members of the Judgment Day have enough issues of their own that they're working through right now. Anyways, why is another member going like.

[Sam Roberts]

So you're Team Balor?

[Megan Morant]

I just like there too many cooks.

[Sam Roberts]

Wow.

How is adding another member going to help the Judgment Day sort through everything that's going on?

[Sam Roberts]

Maybe it would have kept Braun Breaker away from Finn Balor if there was another member of the Judgment Day. Maybe they just didn't have the numbers, you know, two. But now we need a third.

[Megan Morant]

I mean, Finn Balor, the way he's treated some of his Judgment Day brothers that.

[Sam Roberts]

You're Team Balor.

[Megan Morant]

I am. But it's like, you know, he's. He's Dominic got him the spot in the elimination chamber qualifying match. And Finn still wasn't happy with Dominic. And then all of those guys, despite Finn being upset with them, they show up to help him out.

[Sam Roberts]

Well, they seemed, whether it was true or not, to be on the same page somewhat tonight. Right.

[Megan Morant]

Not in the clubhouse, necessarily.

[Sam Roberts]

You don't think Finn Balor is telling the truth where he was like, it's all good. Even though you lost, it's like, that's not that cool, dude.

[Megan Morant]

No, that's not that cool at all.

[Sam Roberts]

But I really enjoyed seeing Finn Balor get to the ring and confront Bron Breaker. I feel, judgment day or no judgment day, that Finn Balor is another one of these superstars that people forget is capable of being a world champion like that.

[Megan Morant]

Yeah. You talked about Seth Rollins being underrated earlier, and I was like, finn Balor's another guy.

[Sam Roberts]

Finn Balor's in that. In that clubhouse. Like, he's at any point ready to be a world champion, in my opinion. That's just, to me, who Finn Balor is and the idea that he's the one that's calling Braun Breaker a rookie, that he's like, yeah, you can run fast and then spear after that, like, yep, you can break. I show speed in half.

[Megan Morant]

Good for you.

[Sam Roberts]

I'm Finn Balor. Okay. You seem to have forgotten.

[Megan Morant]

And he says he's Finn Balor. At the same time, Bron Breaker is like, I'm Bron Breaker. I'm a do.

I don't know if you've heard.

Yeah, I'm not impressed. Finn Balor. We get there and we see. Isn't that. That's why he said he was gonna be. That's why he said I'm the intercontinental champion because I'm a dog. And I was like, yeah, you are, Braun.

I do love the confidence, though, out of Bron Breaker. Right. To be a.

It's well founded.

If I was any. If I had any of the skills, like, not all of them. If I had three of the skills that Bron Breaker has, and he has way more than three musculature.

Speed, awesome uncle who's good at math. Those would be my 3. If I had those three traits, I mean, you'd be looking at the most confident guy in the world.

Not one fan got anywhere near him. The entire city of Buffalo was like, yeah, I don't want any of that smoke.

Yeah. They're like, I'll go through tables, but take a spear.

I go, that's cool. I think Carlito is super cool, by the way. But he came out of nowhere. Unfortunately, Bron Breaker did see him in time. Lays out Carlito. Dominic Mysterio, genius that he is, causes the distraction, willing to take a little pain to make sure that Finn Balor is able to get the time that.

He very big of Dom.

[Sam Roberts]

Yeah. Yeah. To get in there. And Finn Balor got the best of Bron Breaker for a moment. Finn Balor showed him what he could do. And then Dominic Mysterio saves the day, gets Finn Balor out of there. I am. And then, of course, because why not? As Dominic Mysterio is helping Finn Balor leave, Carlito's got to eat another spear. He's got. He's got. He's got. Somebody's going to catch this spear. Where's Carlito?

[Megan Morant]

I mean, yeah, if someone is going to take it. That's, again, big of Carlito.

[Sam Roberts]

And you know what? He's still cool to me.

[Megan Morant]

So that's kind of the role he's been playing in the judgment.

[Sam Roberts]

I don't think he chose that role. No. I don't think that's the role he wants.

[Megan Morant]

Happy to be a part of the family, though.

He just likes the 2k that they have in the clubhouse. Like, every now and then, you got to eat a spear from Bron Breaker, but you come back, play 2k later. I am very. I'm intrigued by what the Judgment Day is doing. I'm intrigued by where they're going. I'm intrigued by. I mean, I'm. I. All. There's all this mystery. Dominic Mysterio hooked up Chad Gable with some luchador genius. We still don't know who it is. We saw a glowing box. We don't know what's in the box.

[Megan Morant]

He's on a quest, maybe.

[Sam Roberts]

Is that related to the new member of the Judgment Day? Is it a completely separate story? We don't know for sure. I don't know who the new member of the Judgment Day could be. But what I am completely intrigued by is what Finn Balor vs Bron Breakker would look like right now. Because Bron Breakker is an absolute specimen and a spectacle. You know what I mean? You get him in there, and he's a human highlight reel. Except Finn Balor is one of the smartest wrestlers ever. That's why he's managed to have a career as long as he has that's as decorated as it is. And I don't think Bron Breaker has ever collided with somebody like Finn Balor at this level that Finn Balor's on.

[Megan Morant]

And I think Finn Balor is someone in his career. He's pretty much seen it all.

[Sam Roberts]

Yeah.

[Megan Morant]

But it's been a long time in WWE since a star as bright and young with as promising of a future as Bron Breaker has entered into the square circle.

[Sam Roberts]

What? AJ Styles has done it all, seen it all, been everywhere, given his life to this thing and is still operating on a level that a 22 year old looks at in awe.

Well, and, you know, we just talked about two superstars who are, in a weird way, underrated yet hall of Fame level, and Seth Rollins and Finn Balor.

I mean, AJ Styles.

AJ Styles says he has to remind people who AJ Styles is.

I hope that that's not true. Like anybody that doesn't realize that AJ Styles is pure goat.

Well, you know, if there is one person who may not realize it, it's probably Logan Paul.

But I don't think Logan Paul is capable of recognizing the excellence in anybody else except himself.

No, I mean, it's for everything to watch his own podcast. That's. I mean, this is. He's not sitting around watching AJ Styles matches, you know, but I'm just, it's. It's an intriguing thing. I'm not sure Carrying Cross taking credit for it is Karrion Kross loves to take credit for things going wrong with.
