ahead on American Sunrise, US warships are in place and ready to enforce a blockade in Iran. The oil markets are on edge. Tensions between the United States and the Islamic Republic are spiking. The big question are we on the brink of a wider war? We'll try to answer that for you. Plus, Ireland slashes fuel taxes to calm angry protesters. After nationwide blockades spark shortages and chaos, we'll take a deeper look at what's going on there. And then later, Eric Swalwell. No, that's not a punchline. He drops out of California's gubernatorial race issuing an apology while also denying misconduct claims. So does this end his political future and potentially benefit Republicans in the U.S. house? Those stories and so much more right now on American Sunrise.

Congressman Marlon Stutzman
Good.
Allison Hahns
Okay.
Terrence Bates
Terrence, I wish I could say the same. I wish I could say the same.
Allison Hahns
You're a little discombobulated this morning, right?
Terrence Bates
I am so off my game this morning. So I apologize to you and David Allison this morning because whatever comes out of my mind, out of my mouth, I can't be responsible for. You see, no tie. Walked out of the house. House this morning. Left my tie on the counter. It's very rare that you'll catch me without a tie or some sort of neck piece. And then as you guys saw Five Minutes to Air, I realized that I hadn't put on any makeup. I was like, oh, I don't have any put on any makeup. So we're already at two out of three. I'm scared of what the third thing may be. You know, they say all things come in three, so I'm scared what the third thing may be. So just bear with me. And my apologies in advance, guys.
Allison Hahns
I'm looking forward to it.
David Brody
No, this is great.
Allison Hahns
Let's go.
Terrence Bates
Let it rip.
David Brody
After Hours tea.
Terrence Bates
I like it. After Hours tea. That's hilarious. Hey, well, look, there's a lot to talk about. Obviously, we're keeping our eye on the Strait of Horror. Moose. The associated presses out with this headline which reads, U.S. military says it will blockade Iranian ports after cease fire talks ended without an agreement. That blockade is set to begin here in just a couple of hours, 10 o' clock Eastern Time. The military says it is going to be partial or impartially enforced here. So we're obviously be keeping an eye on that. There are obviously, though also lots of leaders who've been anti Trump when it comes to the situation in Iran, and that would go to include the Pope. President Trump coming out with a pretty scathing truth social post, calling the Pope weak on crime in general and really criticizing him. Guys, so much to take in. David, I know that you, David and Alison, you guys probably both read that truth social post. I was like, oh, okay, he's going hard on the Pope, David.
David Brody
Yeah, look, a couple of things. It's only Monday and we've got a naval blockade and an anti Pope tweet. Wait till we get to Tuesday. I mean, my gosh, it just never ends with this president clearly for sure. He's going to tick off quite a few Catholics with that tweet. Or I say tweet that post. Having said that, I mean, the actual content of what he's saying about what this Pope stands for and what this Pope has said, whether it be about the war or about immigration, go down the list. Trump's not wrong on the content, but it's clearly not going to go over well with Catholics. Having said that, as for the naval blockade, Alison, look, this is about a chokehold. I mean, it really is that simple. Just militarily, but more importantly, economically, you know, cut off the money, show me the money. As Jerry Maguire says, well, in this case, if you don't have the money, then you have to fold up shop and pack it all in and we'll see what happens here. But that's a big issue as the naval blockade moves on. And of course, those mines in the Strait of Hormuz, clearing those mines, I mean, clearly it's a job for Marco Rubio. I don't think there's any question about that.
Allison Hahns
Well, no, absolutely. Well, one of the, you know, easiest pressure points is energy. And so if you can get to that oil, you are going to disrupt the global economy. And Trump's just going right there.
David Brody
Yeah.
Terrence Bates
You know, I'm surprised we're still under this two week ceasefire, but I'm curious how long it's going to hold, particularly given this weekend's failed negotiations. Really nothing came of it. I wonder if someone at some point will say, you know what, we just need to go on and finish this job. We need to ramp things up. Even apart from this blockade that we're going to see being instituted here in the next couple of hours. I almost feel like we're kind of in no man's land at this point. David.
David Brody
Yeah, I think you're right. I will say this, that this idea that the ceasefire is going to go on for two weeks. Okay, but think about this for a second. A naval blockade, you can clearly make the argument that that is, I don't want to say they've broken the cease fire, but clearly this is a pressure tactic, big time pressure tactic. And it is an act of war. There's no doubt about it. A naval blockade is an act of war is what's going on here. So this idea that they're not firing missiles and everything under the sun doesn't mean that the war isn't continuing, because it is. And a naval blockade is exactly that. Alison.
Allison Hahns
Well, you know what I think with both of these stories this morning and we're talking about, well, how do we talk about both stories? And I think there is a thread. I think it's globalism versus populism. I think one, we're talking about the money and we're talking about oil and we're saying we, we are and can be energy independent and we do not need to be in this area, so take care of it yourselves or we're going to be the overseer. And as far as the Pope goes, I think that's also a situation where, you know, this is a president who was elected for policies like border security and the economy. And as a Catholic, I don't necessarily need the Pope stepping in to politics. I want him to give us spirituality. So I think there is a thread between the two stories just in that globalist populist narrative.
Terrence Bates
Well, Allison, would you. It is interesting point, but I'd like you to, if you don't mind, Alison, give us today's Bible verse. Since you said you would like the Pope to give us some spirituality, we can definitely get John 15:5. Go ahead, Allison.
Allison Hahns
You got it. Okay. John 15. 5. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me and I in him bears much fruit, for without me, you can do nothing. Perfect for today. Well, let's now bring in Indiana Congressman Marlon Stutzman. Congressman, okay, we're talking about a lot this morning, but as far as the blockade goes, what next moves do you expect? And good morning to you.
Congressman Marlon Stutzman
Good morning, Alison. Great to be with you. I think the blockade is the right move. You know, kind of like President Trump said the other day, it's all or nothing with Iran. If they're not going to let our ships through, then they can't let theirs in or out either. This is a cash flow piece for the Iranians. They need the cash to be able to continue to fight. And if we can shut down their cash flow by the fact that they can't sell oil, then that's going to be a big, you know, plus for us and put a hurt on them. So we'll see what's next. I mean, it's going to get a little bumpy. I'm concerned. But at the same time, I think this is the right move. And really, let's go to the choke point, and that's the Straits of Hormuz.
David Brody
Well, let's go to the bumpy part, because Iran is not going to go quietly into the night. So what does bumpy mean? Give us some scenarios about what you're specifically concerned about here.
Congressman Marlon Stutzman
Well, I think that you could see higher gas prices here at home. One of the things that has been happening that hasn't gotten much of attention is, you know, Alaska has let several leases just recently regarding exploration in Alaska. We, of course, Venezuela is slowly coming online. Their crude is much heavier, so we don't have the refining capacity or capabilities here in the United States. But we have allies that do. And so that's going to take a little bit of time to, you know, reroute itself, to find its way back home, to keep our costs down. But at the same time, there in Iran, it's really going to depend on Iran. You know, as Vice President Vance was there, gave them the opportunity to find a path forward, they didn't. And we know that they are not going to give up power easily at all. So this is going to take a little bit more time. And of course, I think that, you know, as I talk to folks here at home, they say, finish the job. Just this has been going on for too long. We need to finish the job.
Terrence Bates
All right, So I was going to go someplace else, but finish the job. I've been asking this question of just about everyone we get on. What does that look like for you? What does finishing the job mean? Depending on whom you ask, you'll get 15 different answers.
Congressman Marlon Stutzman
Yeah, no, I mean, I think it, you know, the intelligence that we were able to gather, of course, you know, the President and his team have a tremendous amount of intelligence and assets at their fingertips. You know, some people say, well, does this mean boots on the ground? I say, you know, what, if that's what it takes, I don't think that it's going to be a long, drawn out mission, but at the same time, by arming those in that region that want to help, you know, think about this. You know, we are big defenders of the second Amendment. Well, in Iran, the people didn't have a second Amendment. They don't have the ability to defend themselves. That's why they've been under oppression for 40 years. And, and if they step out in the streets, they are potentially shot on the spot because it looks like they could start a resistance or some sort of protest. So this is going to take cooperation between those inside the country, surrounding that particular country. And, and I know one thing that, you know, our men and women in uniform, they're trained for this sort of ability. And as I was talking to some of those folks just over the weekend, you know, they're fully prepared to do whatever the President asks. And I think that, you know, the sooner we get this, this job done, the better for all of us. And I know we, as Americans, our patience is thin. We don't have the patience that we should have. Sometimes, especially after Maduro capture, that was like mission impossible. It's in and out and the job is done. Well, that's not going to happen here as easily. These guys have a lot of people, they have a lot of money and they're going to continue to fight to the death. And that's what their religion teaches them.
Allison Hahns
And Congressman, one last item before we say goodbye today. We have to get your opinion on this. We have this headline, eric Swalwin exits the governor's race in California, apologizing for past judgment while denying claims. Your thoughts on him stepping out of the race?
Congressman Marlon Stutzman
Well, I think him stepping out of the race, you know, admits that he is guilty and that he knows that he's done wrong. I mean, the apology is nice, but of course that doesn't fix his reputation. You know, I've known him for a long time in Congress. We were both elected in 2010. And I was always skeptical of him and his ambition and of course, just the way he operated. And, you know, I think he did the right thing by stepping out of the governor's race. I think the next best thing he should do is step out of Congress. We don't, we need to hold ourselves to a high standard. I don't care if you're a Republican or Democrat, you know, if there's we, you know, Tony Gonzalez, I called on him to step out of the race in Texas and to resign. And so I think that it, it doesn't matter who you are in Congress, any these sorts of actions and behavior just cannot be tolerated.
Allison Hahns
I have to ask you, what was suspect about him? What put your spidey senses up over the years?
Congressman Marlon Stutzman
Well, I don't, you know, we're in the same gym and our lockers are very close to each other. They talk to too much like in the locker and in the locker room. So I think that we have to be appropriate no matter where we're at.
Allison Hahns
Yeah, it's always that locker room talk. Okay. Congressman Marlon Stutzman, thank you so much for your time. We appreciate you.
David Brody
Thank you.
Terrence Bates
Thanks, Congressman.
Allison Hahns
Coming up.
Congressman Marlon Stutzman

The big story of the day A US Blockade of Iranian ports will be fully enforced within the next couple of hours. That is the word from the US Central Command. President Trump ordering that no ships enter or leave the Strait of Hormuz after US Iran peace talks in Pakistan stalled over the weekend. One of the reasons for the blockade is Iran's demand that it be able to collect tolls from ships traveling through the strait. In a truth social post about the negotiations, President Trump writing there is only one thing that matters. Iran is unwilling to give up its nuclear ambition. As I have always said right from the beginning and many years ago, Iran will never have a nuclear weapon. In the meantime, Israel and Lebanon are set to try and negotiate a ceasefire in Washington starting tomorrow. Israel has been bombing Iran backed Hezbollah targets in Lebanon even during the U S Iran cease fire. Both sides are hoping that talks will bring about a reprieve in attacks. More and more European countries are feeling the pinch from the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and its impact on the global oil market. In Ireland, hundreds of gas stations have run out of gas due to massive protests and truck blockades limiting the movement of gas from oil refineries across that country. About a third of the the country's gas stations are said to be dry and that number is expected to increase amid demonstrations over the rising cost of fuel. As you can see here, it's impacting farming and food costs as well. Both police and military across Ireland are on standby to respond to continuing blockades and protests that limit fuel deliveries to gas stations across that country. The European world order is falling apart a bit as one of President Trump's staunchest allies, excuse me, on the continent, is headed out of power. Despite having Vice President J.D. vance in country campaigning forum last week, longtime Hungarian President Viktor Orban lost his election. On Sunday, he lost to pro European challenger Peter Magyar, who is pledging to rebuild Hungary's relations with the European Union and NATO. Orban's loss is expected to transform the political dynamic in Europe as Orban made a name for himself by vetoing key EU decisions. The pro Trump Hungarian president served for 16 years. That's a quick check of your headlines. Now let's get a quick check of your forecast with Weather Nation meteorologist Tracy Anthony. By the way, just a quick reminder, go to our various social media sites, be it get a rumble, YouTube, let us know where you're hanging out. And Tracy might hook you up with a hometown forecast in our next hour. Tracy, good morning to you. Severe weather is really in the forecast pretty much all week, is that right?
Allison Hahns
Yeah.
Tracy Anthony
You know, it's going to start off today. We've got kind of a north side and a south side. And then the rest of the week it looks like really the entire Central Plains to the east coast will have more scenes like that. So some strong storms will be rolling on through. And what's going to fuel these storms is widespread heat. So we're talking above average temperatures for the Mid Atlantic into the Southeast. Now that heat is also going to spark some potential for fire danger. So along the Front Range we do have red flag warnings and that fire danger will remain in place through midweek. So here's a look at the next couple of days for that severe weather outlook. We are talking a north side for today. But then look at this stretch. You can see the lighter yellow and the red. That's through Wednesday where we will have a stretch of over 1000 miles at risk for strong to severe thunders storms. So today again, north side, south side. And then as we get into tomorrow and Wednesday, it's going to be a little more widespread, impacting millions of people so very important to stay weather aware have a way to get weather alerts to you. Some of these storms could be an overnight threat. So Terrence, just want to urge everyone to download that Weather Nation app. That's going to be a good option to get those severe weather outlooks.
Terrence Bates
Absolutely, Tracy. Always good to see see. We'll check in with you next hour.
Tracy Anthony
Sounds good.
Terrence Bates
All right. Up next though, President Trump announces Navy restrictions near Iran after talks fail in Pakistan. CENTCOM says the operations will get begin. I can't speak. The operations will begin at 10 o' clock Eastern Time this morning. That's less than two hours away. The big question though, what comes next? Right now, let's take a quick look at this day in history. History. It was on this date in 1970 that disaster struck the Apollo 13 when an oxygen tank exploded some 200,000 miles from Earth. The astronauts on board made the famous call. Houston, we've had a problem. NASA raced to save them against all odds and the crew safely returned to Earth on April 17. More American Sunrise coming your way after this.

Show Host/Producer

President Trump says the U.S. navy will begin enforcing New restrictions on vessels traveling to and from Iranian ports through the Strait of Hormuz. This follows 21 hours of talks over the weekend in Pakistan that ended without an agreement. Imagine going to Pakistan and coming back with Zippo. U.S. central Command says the operation is set to begin today at 10am Eastern. That's just in a few hours, actually less than that. And will apply to vessels of all nationalities. Officials say international transit through the Strait of Hormuz will remain open. All right, let's bring in retired Navy officer, our good friend Lieutenant Steve Rogers here on the show. He's also the executive director of the association of the United States Navy. Steve, good morning. So explain to us how a naval blockade would work in this situation. What are the pros, what are the cons? Because this could get messy depending on what Iran tries to do here.
Steve Rogers
Good morning. Well, good morning. It certainly could. This is the ultimate peace through strength message. I remember back in the 60s when John F. Kennedy had put a blockade around Cuba to prevent the Soviets from putting missiles on Cuba. And it worked in this case. I think we're dealing with a whole different type of element here. We're dealing with fanatics. We're dealing with people that just don't want to surrender. They don't want to give up. And my belief is that they're not going to give up. This is going to get messier than what we want it to be.
Terrence Bates
So how do we ultimately end this? Is a blockade enough to end this, or are we going to need to launch more missiles, a barrage of missiles? How do we end this? I could go through probably 20 different scenarios. So let me just ask the question. How do we end this, Steve?
Steve Rogers
Well, ultimately it's going to have to be ended diplomatically at the end of the day, maybe after some more bombing, some more violent military actions. But I must tell you, I agree with the president. Very disappointed in NATO. If they got involved in the beginning, we wouldn't be where we're at right now. So the president has done and continues to do everything he could to lead them to a table, off of the battlefield and back onto a table and talk about bringing peace to the region. But it's going to get messy. At least this is the view of many people in the intelligence community because we're dealing with a regime that just won't give up.
Allison Hahns
Well, Steve, talk. I just want to go ahead.
Terrence Bates
Can I just follow up really quickly? So you say it's going to have to end diplomatically, Steve, but how can you practice diplomacy with leaders who whose only concession is death. That's the only way they're going to concede is through death.
Steve Rogers
Yes. Except if. If. If what we originally wanted to see happen does happen, and that's where the Iranian people rise up. They've got to rise up. They've got to get to the streets. They've got to take control of their own government. I don't know how many people are left in the Iranian government that are going to be alive next week. I mean, the fact of the matter is, is that they are being eliminated, they're being killed. They seem to rapidly replace people. But sooner or later, I think you're going to see the people are going to finally say, you know what? We're going to rise up one way or the other. We don't know right now if there's some back channeling to bring them arms. We know the president armed the Kurds to get in there and to give the Iranian people arms, but they went off and took those weapons. But I'm sure there's a lot going on behind the scenes to hopefully facilitate that, and that's how this is going to end.
Allison Hahns
Well, Steve, talking about diplomacy, President Trump had this to say on his remarks on Iran and ending a civilization.
Terrence Bates
Watch, when I say about a civilization,
David Brody
it really has changed.
Terrence Bates
It really has.
Public Sponsor Voice
But think of it.
Terrence Bates
They're allowed to say, death to America. Death to this. Death.
David Brody
And I make one statement, they say,
Terrence Bates
oh, such a big deal. Let me tell you, that statement got them to the bargaining table, and they haven't left. They haven't left the bargaining table. I predict they come back and they give us everything we want.
David Brody
And I tell my people, I want everything.
Terrence Bates
I don't want 90%.
David Brody
I don't want 95%.
Terrence Bates
I told them I want everything.
Allison Hahns
I don't know about you, but that's what I want to hear. I want everything. And I know that a lot of pannequins out there are freaking out when Trump puts these statements out there, but I think there is reasoning behind his language. Steve, your thoughts?
Steve Rogers
There is. It was a brilliant statement. You know, as a police officer also, I was always told, you speak the language of the bad guys, speak their language, speak what they understand. Well, when he said that, I sat back and said, what do you know? They're finally going to get the message. And, boy, did they ever get it. Not only did they run to the table, but one of their highest ranking people in government came to the table. So they're going to be sitting at the edge as we're speaking, I believe that they may end up ending up with the full weight of the United States Navy. I've said all along, don't mess with the U.S. navy. Well, today may be the day. And they're going to find out why we're telling them they made a big, big mistake.
David Brody
Yeah, Steve, you make such a great point. Those folks over there, the crazy Shia clerics, they respect strength, and President Trump has that strength for sure, more than they'll even know. And they're finding it out now. So you mentioned earlier this might get messy. You think it will get messy? What does messy look like? Because. Can I just be straight up here? Everybody says, listen, we need to go fight and win it. Let's just finish the job is what they say. Finish the job. Listen, can we just have a little frank talk? If the cameras are off, I don't know if they're rolling. But let me just say, what does finish the job mean exactly? Because that's where it gets down and dirty. That's where it gets messy. And I'm not just talking about ground troops. I'm talking about how there's gonna be. The question is, do the American people have the resolve for this fight? And the answer, sadly, is I don't think so. Definitely not as much as the crazy radical Shia clerics do.
Steve Rogers
Well, I've got to tell you what's troubling is the left and a lot of politicians that are degrading the president, they're degrading our military, the enemies are watching. And I've always said when they find a crack in a wall, unity, they're going to do everything they could to widen that crack. But I've got a lot of faith in the American people that we're smarter than a lot of people know and understand. And at the end of the day, do you want a nuclear weapon in the hands of a government that can go wrong when your children are growing up? Because these maniacs will use that. And as long as we get the message out, it's either, you know, we're going to have to sacrifice now, we're going to have to fight. Now, look, our parents did it in World War II. Our grandparents did it in World War II. They suffered so much, and they gave us a wonderful, beautiful country. Well, we're Americans. We're going to rise up, we're going to see through all the nonsense, and at the end of the day, we win and they lose.
David Brody
Well, I hope so, Steve, but, you know, the days of World War II and rallying around the flag and gathering around the radio. I mean, those days are over. So, I mean, this is a different America we're living in. And I'm just concerned that we don't have the stomach for the fight in terms of what's going on here in America today.
Steve Rogers
David, here's some hope for you because I know a lot of people feel that way. When I get out in the field and I see young people in military uniforms, Marines, Navy, Army, Air Force, we don't see that on the news. All we see is the hundreds or thousands on the streets marching, condemning America. They don't have the will to fight. Believe me, there is a generation out there of young people ready, willing and able to fight for this country. They love this country. We don't hear about it, but it's out there. So if that could give you a little hope, believe me, and I also say this constantly, I believe in the power of prayer. I believe that God Almighty has his wings over this country, going to protect us. He's going to protect Israel. And as I said, at the end of the day, we win, they lose.
David Brody
Well, I totally agree with you. I'm all in. Finish the job. Let's go. Let's not play around. God bless America. God bless you. Thank you, Steve Rogers.
Steve Rogers

Welcome back to American Sunrise. We appreciate you being here with us on this Monday morning. Thanks so much for starting your work week with us here on American Sunrise. It is now time for today's health news and it's sponsored by the wellness company under the Microscope. Today, a new study suggesting that your genes may influence how well popular GLP1 Weight loss drugs work. Interesting researchers analyzing data from thousands of people found that certain genetic variants may slightly affect weight loss results. Those same differences may also be linked to a higher risk of side effects like nausea and vomiting. Experts say the findings could help personalize obesity treatments in the future. Meantime, other research suggests that the drug's heart benefits may be tied to multiple factors, including dosage and not just weight loss alone. That brings us to a groundbreaking new study that shows that there's a safe and inexpensive potential cancer treatment. And it's a drug that many of us already know about. It's Ivermectin. This new study also shows that individuals who took ivermectin, which is the parasite fighting medication that gained fame during the COVID pandemic along with the drug membendazole, saw remarkable results in their battles with cancer. This is incredibly promising results that have many Americans wondering where they can obtain us made ivermectin and mebenzazole. And that's where the the folks over at the Wellness company come in. You see and hear from TWC doctors all the time on this network and you know that their products are the gold standard for keeping you and your family safe and healthy. The Wellness company is making 100% American made ivermectin and mebendazole available to RAV viewers at an incredibly affordable price point. Say no to big farmers greed and know to big farmers poisons and say yes to a company that you can trust to bring you safe, affordable and effective treatments. If you or someone that you love is interested in trying Ivermectin or menbendazole, then we want to urge you to go to TWC Health RAV today and order that's TWC Health RAV. Use the promo code RAV to save yourself 10% or as David Brody likes to hear, 10 bezent. All right, let's get you over to David now. David, good morning.
David Brody
Good morning. Final. Yes, you fulfilled that for me this morning. I appreciate it. T. Bates. Okay. Dr. G will be back with us next Week. A violent incident unfolded at Grand Central Station in New York over the weekend. It's horrible. A man attacked multiple people with a machete on a subway platform. Police say officers shot the suspect after he failed to comply with orders to drop the weapon. Authorities say three people were injured and they are expected to survive. The suspect later died at a hospital after being shot. Let's now bring in retired NYPD detective and co host of the Gold Shields podcast. That would be Tom Smith. Tom, good to have you back here. So apparently this machete wielding psycho yelled out afterwards that he was Lucifer. We understand he's been arrested twice before. Your thoughts this morning? Good morning.
Tom Smith
Good morning and thanks for having me. But this is what's going on in New York City when mental health is an issue and the police need to respond to these incidences. Unlike the mayor's plan, which setting social workers to deal with a cycle like this, which is going to end up in injuries and death. And the NYPD did a masterful, I mean, tactical job with this. Once they got called and got to the scene, they contained him. They gave him the verbal warnings to stop him from inflicting any more injuries. But then it got to a point where there was no other choice but to take him out and neutralize the situation, which they did.
Terrence Bates
You know, this is life under Zoran Mandami. He is now 100 days in. There's a CBS News headline which reads, NYC Mayor Zoran Mondame Reaches 100 Days in Office. Here's where his policy agenda stands and a couple of highlights in that policy agenda, or lowlights, however you want to look at it, is that he's delivered on free buses and expanded free childcare programs. Your assessment, though, from a law enforcement perspective on these first 100 days?
Tom Smith
Well, let's go back in time. And his first incident with the NYPD was to visit a guy in the hospital who tried to kill an NYPD officer with a steak knife. So that was his first initiation into not backing the NYPD up. Then he goes to Rikers island and has a kumbaya with all the criminals in there to make sure they're all taken care of, but has yet to talk to or walk into a police precinct to see what the NYPD needs. He wants to disband the boogeyman unit that he calls his srg, which is so needed in New York City right now. And if they were deployed the correct way, when two terrorists came to New York with two IEDs and wanted to blow a bunch of people up, that incident might not have even happened. But his rhetoric and his disdain for the nypd, not just the nypd, all of law enforcement, is going to come back to hurt every resident and every tourist in New York.
David Brody
Tom, if I listen to CNN and other liberal media outlets, which I try not to do for my health, for health reasons, but if I do do that, they're going to say that crime is down in New York. X amount of percent now of course, I'm curious to get your take on that because you know, you can't just say crime is down. You got to get into violent crime, you got to get into different types of crime. Plus Mamdani, where are we on the numbers there or is it too early to tell?
Tom Smith
Well, here, here's the thing with New Yorkers, Dave. New Yorkers don't care about stats. They care about what they're seeing and they care about what's going on on the street. They are not stat people. They don't care if a politician or the police commissioner gets in front of a camera and says crime is down. X amount of percentage. They don't care. They see it every single day and they see people getting pushed in front of trains. They see seven month old babies getting killed and they see this lunatic running around Grand Central Station stabbing people with a machete. That's what they see. On top of what's going on, the NYPD reclassifications of crimes to make sure certain stats are down. How many people are not calling 911 anymore and not reporting crimes so that all factors into the percentages that they are forcing down people's throats. But New Yorkers are smarter than that and they can see what's going on on the street.
Terrence Bates
Tom Smith, we'll have to leave the conversation there. Appreciate you joining us. Love your perspective. Thanks so much for being here with us.
David Brody
Thanks Tom.
Tom Smith
Thanks so much for having me.

The mission has successfully splashed down, marking a major step in returning humans to the moon. The crewed spacecraft traveled around the moon before safely re entering Earth's atmosphere. Recovery teams moved in quickly to retrieve the astronauts from the ocean, and NASA says the mission paves the way for future lunar landings. Under the Artemis program, one of the astronauts thanked God for the mission. Take a look at this.
Terrence Bates
When this started on April 3rd, I wanted to thank God in public. And I want to thank God again because even bigger than my challenge, trying to describe what we went through, the gratitude of seeing what we saw, doing what we did, and being with who I was with.

Let's now bring in Allison, David and Terence for more. Terrence, want to get your thoughts first on this? I mean, just so awesome to say the least. Of course you want to thank God in that moment, of course.
Terrence Bates
And the fact that he took the time to do it. Oftentimes people are in those sorts of situations and they simply reflect on the experience, not the reason for the experience And I would imagine that when you're up there, you know, in orbit, and you see. You see just how vast God's creation is, it truly helps one appreciate him more and appreciate just how. How massive God's love for us is. David and Allison.
David Brody
Yeah, look, here's the thing. And you say this, T. Bates, it's such a great point, but, you know, you go up there and you look down and you see the Earth, and you go, wow, the universe is really big. And this wasn't a Big Bang Theory. Sorry, Sheldon. And all you folks, but it's not the Big Bang Theory. You know, it's huge. It's massive. And you think, how could this be without a loving God that created all of this? Number one? Also, I think there's an aspect here of silence, silence and isolation. When you're in space, the borders are gone, the silence is deafening. You have a moment to reflect. And I think that's something, Allison, that we should think about here, that we need alone time with God. We need to get away from the noise. We need to get away from everything that we're reporting here. Obviously, the last two hours, I mean, the news can drive you literally insane. But when you get in silence, God will speak. And I think that's a big part of this as well.
Allison Hahns
That's such a beautiful remark, David. And I think that's what these four amazing humans were getting at during this press conference, which I watched live, and I thought was extraordinary because they were so sincere, and they took their time and really talked about that human experience and that human perspective. And for me, I've been following the story, and it was exciting, but it was a little bit technical to me. And when I heard them speak the other day, I really felt the spirit. I felt their spirit, the spirit of the Lord. I thought it was such a beautiful moment. And what the people over at NASA, these are four great representatives for NASA, because everyone had their own unique story, and they were all so beautiful. I just. I was really touched by the entire press conference. I thought it was great.
Show Host/Producer
Yeah, it's one of those news stories that really does bring people together. I will say I was watching some commentary from this woman on TikTok, and she was moved to tears after watching this press conference, after seeing them all come back. There was a photo of Earth that all the astronauts took. It was almost like a selfie, and she was crying, saying that, you know, this is everyone that has ever existed, ever, all together at once. And it was just a really, really beautiful moment to be able to see that.
Terrence Bates
Yeah. And Alison, to your point, of all four astronauts being such great representatives for NASA, you are so right. I've been watching this. You know, I'm a nerd. I'm a space nerd. So I've been watching this for about two weeks now. And my wife and I were sitting down watching some of the interviews and Victor Glover, the gentleman we just heard from there, I was saying that, you know, yeah, he was looking forward to this experience for himself, but he was also looking forward to coming home because he realized how much of a stressor this was going to be on his wife, that she wouldn't rest until he was back home. And I looked over at my wife and my wife is bald, she's bawling. And I'm just like, that's probably not something I would have thought about, but that's the compassion that he showed. Not just that he's going up into space and he's going to have this experience, but thinking about his wife even through all of this and how stressful this was going to be for her and kind of that idea of, I've got to make it home to take this off of her, I just was like, okay, bruh, I love you. I'm with you on that one. And my wife is over there balling. And I was just like, okay, this is a moment right here. Sorry, Tamara, I'm telling everybody your business there.
Allison Hahns
I love it, I love it.
Show Host/Producer
We love it. Love that, Tamara. Okay, great, great way to start the week with this story. Great discussion. Coming up, golfer Cameron Young opens up about faith and family, saying they keep him grounded through life on tour. We have his comments next on American Sunrise Foreign.

Welcome back to American Sunrise. It's time now for our moment of faith brought to us by Lee Greenwood and the God Bless the USA Bible. Today we're looking at the role of faith in sports as the drama at the Masters wraps up in Augusta. While golfer Cameron Young came up just short of the title, finishing near the top of the leaderboard, he still made headlines this weekend not just for his play, but for the values he says keep him grounded under pressure. Young spoke about the importance of faith and family, sharing that he makes it a priority to bring his family to church every Sunday, win or lose.
Steve Rogers
It's something that I feel like brings us together. It's, you know, very important, I think, for all of us to kind of have that part of our lives, you know, be a central portion of what we do. We find in different churches, church every week, wherever we are, we find mass to go to. And, you know, that week it happens to be right by the golf course. So it's a little bit different, you know, pulling in in the tournament car,
Tony Knett
unloading my kids out and having people
Steve Rogers
kind of look at you the whole time. But, you know, I get a lot of really, really nice comments, you know, people saying, hey, thanks for setting a great example for my children or whatever it is. And honestly, it's great to hear because I don't feel like that's the case all the time. And that's one area where, you know, I'm really happy to be able to bring attention to that part of our life.
Allison Hahns
Let's now bring in David Brody. Oh, David, such a great story. Now, you know, he may not have been the champion yesterday, but in my book he is absolutely a champion. I mean, really, what a great example for us all.
David Brody
No doubt about it. Let's remember Alison, right? He's in contention to win the Masters, the major of all majors, on Sunday, yesterday. And what does he in the morning? Does he sleep in? Does he have a nice breakfast and prepare and think about. No, he goes to church yesterday with his family. I mean, think about that. You're on the last day of the Masters and you're going to church. That's called priority straight, you know I'm a big Broadway show fan, if you will. And I love the show. Hamilton, right? We all know about Hamilton. And at the end, it's such a poignant song. The lyrics are, who lives, who dies, who tells your story? It's about your legacy. What is your legacy? What do you want your legacy to be? It's not time to think about when you're 75 years old and on your deathbed. It's time to think about your Legacy when you're 15, 25, 35, 45, 55. I can go on. The point is that what is your legacy? Is your legacy golf or is your legacy having a family that you can be proud of and pass on a wonderful faith tradition, specifically the gospel of Jesus Christ? That's a legacy.
Allison Hahns
Absolutely. And you know what he shows? It's also never too late to start. It's like, I love that so many people were probably listening to his words and maybe they don't operate their lives like that. And they said, well, you know what, maybe I could do that. Maybe I could start. Maybe that's something that I'd like to try. And I think that's the power of these incredible athletes going out and being an example and professing their faith.
David Brody
I just want to say one last thing and I don't want people to miss this. The key part of the story isn't that he went to church. You know, the church is just a building. Religion is man made. We're talking about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It's not about going to church. God's not taking attendance. Okay, you can do church in your home, you can do church on the beach, you can do church anywhere. It's not about going into church. It's about having a personal relationship with the God of the universe.
Allison Hahns
Such a good point. I'm going to leave it there. Thank you so much, David. We are back with the second hour of American Sunrise in two minutes. Stick around.

Welcome back, everybody, to the second hour of American Sunrise. I'm David Brody coming to you from D.C. let's bring in Allison Hones, who's in for Dr. G in West Palm Beach. T. Bates in our Denver newsroom. Good morning to both of you. So let's get to a bit of the controversy this morning. This picture President Trump posted on Truth Social, he did it at about 10pm last night. It is getting a very strong reaction. Let's take a look at it. The picture speaks for itself. Let me say a couple of things about it before I get to you guys real quick. But let me be very clear. Take this down, Mr. President. Look, you've done a lot of great work defending Judeo Christian principles since you glided down that golden escalator in 2015. But you're not God. You're flawed. I'm flawed. All of Us are flawed, every single one of us are. Now, I love so much of what this President has done, so don't misread anything when it comes to that. But I'm going to call it as I see it when I disagree and I vehemently disagree in this situation. T. Bates. Yeah.
Terrence Bates
So similar to you, I saw this, it was probably about midnight for me. Midnight, one o', clock, my time. I was up and I was going through Truth Social and see this picture. And it kind of took me back. I looked and kind of was trying to figure out, okay, what's he trying to say here? And it's taken me until now to really kind of digest this and I just don't get the point. I agree with you. Take it down. But what point are you trying to make here, Mr. President, I don't understand it. And whatever the point is, I'm not so sure you can convince me that this is appropriate. Alison.
Allison Hahns
Well, I'd have to agree. But the question is, what is the point? And that's something, David, with your background, I would love for you to take that 40,000 foot view. What is going on here? What is this messaging? Because the President puts out very controversial material and I don't think we can take it at face value. So what is the underlying narrative that he's trying to get at here?
David Brody
I believe that he is trying to suggest in this post that he is doing God's work, that he is doing God's work for America. The problem. So that's the answer to your question. The problem here is the red robe and him being the central figure in it. If you're going to be saying that, then you're part of, if you will, God's army, right? Aren't we all trying to do the best for the kingdom? So go smaller in the picture, put God at the front of it and you in the background. You're not the foreground, Mr. President, you're not. And that's my point, guys. And I'm pretty stringent and very serious about this, to be clear. I just wanna be clear. I love so much of what President Trump has done in both terms, a lot of stuff. But this is not right. He needs to take it down.
Allison Hahns
I absolutely respect that. My question is, who is this picture meant to provoke? I'm not sure that's what I don't
David Brody
know if it matters. I mean, I get it's a legitimate question. I'm not saying it's not a legitimate question. I don't know. But it shouldn't matter. Who it's meant to provoke. I mean, I guess you would say liberals to a degree, you know, because they think he has a messianic complex, if you will. And so he's just stoking them and he's, you know, he's, you know, he's playing around with their emotions and all that stuff. I mean, I get the point of what Trump does and I like a lot of when he does that, but not in this case. Not necessarily.
Terrence Bates
Right. And it would have been nice for some advisers, even though they may have, for some advisors to have come and said, Mr. President, I don't think that's quite appropriate. You may want to hold back on this one. But it's out there now and we'll see how he ultimately responds. Meantime, guys, want to get to some headlines this morning. A US Blockade of Iranian ports is going to be in place here within the next hour or so. That's the word from the US Central Command. President Trump ordering that no ship ships enter or leave the Strait of Hormuz after U. S. Iran peace talks over the weekend in Pakistan stalled. One of the reasons for the blockade is Iran's demand that it be able to collect tolls from ships that are traveling through the strait. In a truth social post about the negotiations, President Trump also writing there is only one thing that matters. Iran is unwilling to give up its nuclear ambitions. He says more and more European countries are are feeling the pinch from the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. And in Ireland, for instance, hundreds of gas stations have run out of gas due to massive protests and truck blockades that are limiting the movement of gas from oil refineries across that country. About a third of the country's gas stations are said to be dry and that number is expected to increase amid demonstrations over the easing and rising oil costs there in that country country with its impact on farming and food costs being felt as well, the European world order is falling apart just a little bit as one of President Trump's staunchest allies on the continent is headed out of power. Despite having Vice President J.D. vance in country campaigning forum last week, longtime Hungarian President Viktor Orban lost his election. On Sunday, he lost a pro European challenge, Peter Magyar, who is pledging to rebuild Hungary's relations with the European Union and NATO. Orban's loss is expected to transform the political dynamic in Europe as Orban made a name for himself by vetoing key EU decisions. That's a quick check of your headlines. Now let's get a quick check of your forecast with weather Nation meteorologist Tracy Anthony. Tracy, good morning.
Tracy Anthony
Hey, good morning, Terrence. Still some winter weather out across the intermountain west. Areas like, like South Lake Tahoe picking up some fresh snow over the course of the weekend. And that's where temperatures are going to be trending a little below average. But the rest of the nation, we are going to be on the warm side. Wichita, 20 degrees above average for Monday, even out to areas like Boston, 19 degrees above average. So our daytime highs are going to be rather toasty. New York, just shy of 80 degrees. Minneapolis, 73 in Wichita, just shy of about 90. So a lot of us going to be feeling more summer like here into the afternoon. And that's going to help fuel some severe thunderstorm activities. So areas like southern Minnesota into central Wisconsin under an enhanced risk could have good sized hail, damaging winds and tornado potential. We also have a severe weather outlook for Oklahoma down through, through Texas. Now, that's just not going to be today. We're going to be under that risk for severe weather from the Great Lakes down through Texas today, Tuesday and Wednesday. Now that's going to wring out a good amount of moisture here across these regions and that could lead to some localized flooding, especially areas that have already been socked in with rain over the weekend. This was a look at Del Rio, Texas. So it's going to be a span of over a thousand miles. And Terrence, it's going to impact millions of people. Now today I was a little behind getting onto the social feeds. So Terrence, we will have more hometown forecasts tomorrow.
Terrence Bates
All right, looking forward to it. Always good to see you, Tracy. Talk to you tomorrow.
Tracy Anthony
Talk to you tomorrow. Don't forget to download the Weather Nation app, too for all your updates.
Terrence Bates
There you go. Good stuff. All right, let's get you over to David Brody now. David, good morning.
David Brody
Good morning, T. Bates. All right. President Trump ordering US Naval forces to block ships entering and exiting the Strait of Hormona moves after peace talks with Iran collapsed over the weekend. Get ready, folks. The operation begins in an hour, 10am Eastern. According to the president's post on Truth Social, U.S. central Command says the blockade will target vessels entering or leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas, including ports along the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. All right. Joining us now with analysis is RAV chief White House correspondent Brian Glenn. B. Glenn, so look, the talk, they failed. Not shocking here, sir. Iran doubling down. What do you think? Is this ceasefire gonna last? I mean, everybody talks about the ceasefire, whether or not it's gonna last or not. But the Truth of the matter is when you have a naval blockade, that's an act of war. So we're still in this thing?
Steve Rogers
We are.
Brian Glenn
Good morning, David. And Iran has even said, you know what, they're pulling a page out of the Zelensky playbook. They're saying we have a card, that we are not. Bad impression. But Iran does say they have a card they have not used. We don't know exactly what that card looks like, David. Well, this ceasefire that goes to April 22, we'll see if that holds. Meanwhile, attention builds. And David, Terrence and Allison, I can see right now gas station owners in front of their business with a ladder and new letters to put up on that gas prices. As we see this blockade take place in less than an hour, we'll see the price of gas and oil, I would imagine, go up at the same time. But will this ceasefire hold?
David Brody
Don't know.
Brian Glenn
Because Iran says they have a card they haven't used. So I don't know what that card is.
Terrence Bates
And meantime, Brian, we're still getting closer to that 60 day threshold by which the President is going to have to, to get most of this done or get his policy as it relates to Iran done before Congress ultimately has a say in all of this. So what will the next. I guess we're probably about 15 days away or so. So what will the next two weeks or so entail? What are your sources saying?
Brian Glenn
Yeah, it's interesting, Terrence. Congress has so much to do. You've got DHS funding, you've got the FISA situation, you have this as well. It's going to be a very busy time on the Hill. And of course, Congress returning. I believe they're still out. I think they come back a little bit later in the week. But so much is on the plate there. This is going to be one of those moments in history when everything comes together. It's almost like the Hill is the straight of her boost and everyone's coming together waiting for some type of resolution on so many different levels. But we'll, we'll find out, Terrence, how this all plays out in the next coming, I guess.
David Brody
Well, two weeks.
Terrence Bates
Well, that's about that. I have, if my math is right.
Congressman Marlon Stutzman
Sorry, Alison.
Allison Hahns
Oh, no, no, no. One thing I wanted to go back to straight up Hormuz. I think an interesting story here is how this is all going to affect European nations. And I mean, we're going to see the price of gas go up here, but it is really going to stick it to all of those Countries who haven't been around to help us. NATO is up in the air. I mean that's kind of like the hanging question mark right now. Your thoughts?
Steve Rogers
Yeah.
Brian Glenn
Well, it's going to force them to buy oil from us. And I think ultimately in the end this hurts China the most and it hurts, I would think Russia as well as all these countries have to scramble and buy oil. So what does that look like for us? Well, if that drives the demand up for oil, it even drives the price of oil and the price of gasoline up in our country. Now we do drill, baby, drill. And yes, we only take 2% of the oil coming out of the straight hormones goes back in our country. But if the rest of the world is seeking to buy our oil, one can only imagine that price will go up. But you see those gas lines in Ireland and I would imagine it's going to kind of spread throughout Europe.
Terrence Bates
I don't.
Brian Glenn
Well, I could, I think fairly say we're not going to see that here in this country, thank God, because we have our, our resources that we've been using. But this is going to be a very interesting situation. I saw some speculation about a week ago about this global energy crisis where you're going to have governments telling people you can't travel on Monday and Tuesday. It's only going to be Thursday and Friday. You're going to see a global lockdown on energy consumption very much like you saw the lockdown on Covid.
David Brody
Brian Glenn, always great to have you sir, on a Monday.
Brian Glenn
Thank you.
David Brody
Through Friday. It doesn't matter. Any day of the week.
Allison Hahns
Thank you.

Thank you.
Terrence Bates
Good to see you, baby.
Brian Glenn
Good to see you.

Coming up, Maine senate candidate Graham Plantner Platner, excuse me, is under fire after old social media posts resurfaced. But then his explanation for those posts posts, well, even worse. We're going to talk about it when we come back.

Welcome back to American Sunrise. Time now to drain the swamp. And this morning we are flushing out Maine Senate candidates Graham Platner. Platner, a Democrat, is under fire after old social media posts have resurfaced, including comments critical of police and rural Americans. The controversy follows criticism over a tattoo that many say resemble a Nazi symbol, which Platner has said he would have removed. It also comes as Maine is considered one of the most competitive Senate races in the country and a potential deciding seat in the balance of power. And watching. Now Platner is blaming all of this on his time in the military. Take a look.
Public Sponsor Voice
When I left the military, I came out of a hyper masculine, hyper violent place.
David Brody
I did four tours in the infantry.
Public Sponsor Voice
We have a crude sense of humor in the infantry. We certainly have a, I would say,
Steve Rogers
narrow view of a lot of topics,
Public Sponsor Voice
and that colored my opinions and my beliefs
Show Host/Producer
to discuss. Let's bring in David, Terrence and Allison. David, want to get your thoughts on this first. Is anything that he's saying a valid excuse
David Brody
is a what excuse? I'm sorry, I missed you.
Show Host/Producer
A valid excuse.
David Brody
Oh, a valid excuse. Let me think. No, you know, sorry. I had to think about it for a second.
Terrence Bates
Can I second that really quickly? No, no, no, I'm with you, David. I second.
David Brody
That's two nos. Let's go to Allison for a third. What do we think, Alison?
Allison Hahns
No, and I just. I mean, he's talking about hyper masculine, hyper violent place, the military. Okay. I mean, what is the alternative? What do we want our military to be? Okay, I just. This nonsense with the tattoo, this story, I don't know, does it. Doesn't do it for me. I think this guy's a nutball and I'm scared that he's even close to the Senate.
David Brody
Yeah. I mean, can I just say real quick, I'm sorry. So let me get that straight. So his logic here is, hey, the military, you know, we get a little ramped up, we get a little wild sometimes. So I have an idea. Let me go get a Nazi tattoo. What? Sorry.
Allison Hahns
Yeah. And you could have other people in the military say, hey, I was in the military and now I'm a cross dresser. I mean, that's like the alternative that we had, you know, a couple of years ago. So come on.
Terrence Bates
And to add to that, shame on him for saying, well, in the military we have a narrow view. I grew up on a military community. I don't. I'm not. In fact, I can guarantee you I didn't have any Nazi lovers who were, who were on our base like that. That wasn't a narrow view. Like, give give our US Military much more credit than that that they're not. These Nazi lovers out there are these insensitive people who are tattooing Nazi symbols on their arm. That just doesn't fly with me.
Allison Hahns
We need to get some numbers out of that race in Maine because I want to see how close it is.
David Brody
So, Emily, that's the answer to the
Show Host/Producer
question I was gonna say it was like American Idol this morning. Is that a valid excuse? Nope, nope and no. All right, see ya.
Terrence Bates
That's gonna be a no for me dog.
Show Host/Producer
That's gonna be a no for me dog. Three strikes and he is out. All right. Coming up on American Sunrise. A longevity nutrient in dairy has been linked to strong anti aging effects that could boost your immunity and so much more. We'll have the details after the break. Don't go anywhere.

Welcome back. We're getting ready for the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. It's set to ring here in just a few minutes. Here's a look at the futures market. As you can see, it's pretty much red from top to bottom. Down at the very bottom, crude oil is the only thing that is up right now and that's largely due to the blockade that's being input in the Strait of Hormuz. About 30 minutes from now or so is when it's supposed to start. And so that, of course, is spiking oil prices. The uncertainty, though, around the world, particularly given the situation of Iran, is part of the reasons that you're seeing the markets respond as they are. Again, we'll continue to monitor all of this for you throughout the throughout the day though, and keep you updated. In the meantime, let's get you over to Allison. Allison, good morning.
Allison Hahns
Good morning. Thank you, Terrence. Well, a new health supplement is getting attention, claiming to support long term wellness at the cellular level. It's built around what's known as C15, an essential fatty acid that researchers say may play a key role in supporting cell health, metabolism and even healthy aging. Experts say this nutrient, once common in certain diets, is largely missing from modern nutrition, and reintroducing it could help improve overall health markers. Joining me now to discuss more is the co founder and CEO of Fatty 15, Dr. Stephanie Van Watson. Good morning, Doctor, how are you?
M
Good morning, Allison. Great to see you.
Allison Hahns
Oh, great to see you. Well, we know longevity has been a hot topic these days. And in your best selling Simon and Schuster book, the Longevity, Longevity Nutrient. Great title. You share how Navy dolphins helped unlock a secret to longevity and healthy aging. Can you tell us more about this?
M
I can not. Your typical origin story, right, with dolphins. So, yeah, I'm a veterinary epidemiologist who's working with the Navy, Allison. My husband Eric is a Navy physician and three time war veteran. And as a military family, we discovered this healthy aging nutrient called C15. Surprisingly, while taking care of Navy dolphins, it ends up that, you know, Navy dolphins live a lot longer than dolphins in the wild. We found that about one in three older dolphins were developing aging associated conditions like us. And we use this fancy technology called metabolomics to see which small molecules predicted the healthiest aging dolphins. And Allison, we thought it was going to be omega 3s. It ended up being this nutrient called C15, which as you shared, is the first essential fatty acid to be discovered in over 90 years. What's now 10 years and 100 peer reviewed studies later emerging as the longevity nutrient. Thank you dolphins. Thank you, Navy.
Allison Hahns
Seriously. Okay, so what is C15 and how does it support healthy aging?
M
Sure. So C15, it's an odd chain saturated fatty acid. So big surprise. It's actually while the Dolphins were getting C15 from their certain types of fish, our primary source of C15 is from dairy fat. So we've been taking C15 out of our diet. The primary job of this essential fatty acid is to strengthen our cell membranes. But it also comes with 36 cellular benefits that help to improve, as you had shared and support our long term metabolic, liver, cognitive, immune and even red blood cell health. So really a core nutrient that we need to keep us healthy for as long as possible. And that's what we all want, right?
Allison Hahns
Absolutely. Well, what are other promising longevity molecules and how does C15 compare to those?
M
Right, so it's really interesting. So the leading longevity molecules today are really in the drug space. Right. So not in the natural molecule. One is called rapamycin, another is called metformin. It's one of the most common drugs used for diabetes, has also been shown to extend longevity in mice. It ends up that C15, this natural molecule that's in mom's milk, it's in our breast milk, it's in dairy fat, that it has the same mechanisms as both metformin and rapamycin. We did a study that we published a couple years ago where we went head to head of C15, fatty 15 against these leading longevity molecules and were surprised to find that it had these 36 benefits which was more than either metformin or rapamycin. So it was all about how do we get this nutrient back into our lives which is intended to keep us healthy.
Allison Hahns
So for someone like myself, if I was to take the fatty 15, what am I going to feel or what am I going to experience over the next couple of weeks? What's that like?
M
Yeah, Allison, this is a great question because a lot of times you take a vitamin or something and you kind of cross your fingers and hope and pray that you feel better, right? And so in this case we had had delights and surprises where in addition to C15 helping support your long term health. So get your blood values, go get them tested before and in three to six months. But in addition, we have 70% of our customers report seeing or feeling benefits within 16 weeks, including improved sleep, calmer mood, improved energy and improved overall health. I myself stopped waking up at 2 in the morning, slept through the night. So we're so excited that this essential nutrient brought to us again. Thanks to Navy dolphins.
Allison Hahns
Love it. Sleep, mood, energy. And certainly you came up with this product in a very unique way. So I love it. Worth trying. Thank you so much. Dr. Stephanie Van Watson. Thanks so much for being with us. And remember to go to fatty15.com to use more and use the code Sunrise. You will get 15% off your first order. We're getting ready for the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. There you have it right there. I was just gonna say the applause is underway, but the bell is ring which means the markets are now open and it's already a topsy turvy day. Of course, all eyes on the Strait of Hormuz. As that blockade gets in place. It's driving oil prices as you can see there at the bottom of your screen. Also not necessarily a positive impact on the stock markets as uncertainty never typically is. The dow S&P 500 and the NASDAQ as you can see in the red right now, really just a couple of bright spots and it's not really a bright spot. It just means that it's good if you've invested low. Oil is up. Right now it's topped $100 a barrel and very likely will go up as a result of this blockade. We'll be watching it all for you, though, throughout the day and keep you updated. Still to come here on American Sunrise, former Vice President Kamala Harris making the strongest hint yet that she is considering a third run for the White House. Would modern Democrat voters support her though? We'll break it down next.

Welcome back to American Sunrise. I'm Allison Hans. Thanks so much for joining us this morning. We invite you to join the conversation on Getter and Rumble. Time now to take the political pulse of America the beat. Today, former Vice President Kamala Harris has confirmed she's considering another run for president. Speaking at a major civil rights event in New York, Harris was asked directly about her future responding. Quote, wrote, I might. I'm thinking about it. Drawing cheers from the crowd. Take a look.
Terrence Bates
So are you gonna run again in 28?
Allison Hahns
So, okay, I tried to be subtle,
Terrence Bates
but I just figured I'd go right up. That's as subtle as Revenue Sharpton could ever be.
Allison Hahns
We let I love you for many things, but not being subtle. Listen, I might, I might.
Terrence Bates
I'm thinking about it.
Allison Hahns
Okay. Harris has run for president twice already. Once in 2020, where she dropped out before primary voting began, and of course, in 2024, where she took over following former President Joe Biden's exit it on the heels of that disastrous debate performance. But a potential comeback won't be easy with many in the Democrat Party already looking toward a new generation of leaders. Joining us now with analysis is investigative columnist for the Daily Signal, Tony Knett. Good morning, Tony, to you guys.
Tony Knett
Wouldn't you just enjoy opening up a Christmas present early as Kamala Harris, who says, well, she just needed more time. It was a rushed campaign to show up in a pirate shirt opposite of Al Sharpton and getting ready a brand new campaign Bratz Summertimes 2. Let's go.
Allison Hahns
And you know what? The the Southern drawl, the Southern accent was back just in time for this event.
Tony Knett
It kind of kicked in halfway through. It was like, so Cal. So I mean, I'm not really sure where she thinks that she's going with this, but I guess after listening to Jasmine Crockett put on 15 different accents, she's not going to be outdone. And so I guess Paula Deen meets mediocre attorney general. I'm here for it.
Allison Hahns
Okay. What does it say? What does all of this say about the Democratic Party right now?
Tony Knett
Well, there's significance of the struggle of the party. And I think that the real issue about the Democrat Party is who do you have to go up against her? Gavin Newsom. Well, his state is on fire, literally, economically and in any other way. You can make the analogy. You've got J.B. pritzker, who people are telling him to wait, and he thinks that's also a diet option. You have the the rest of the party, which is essentially nipping at each other's heels. Pete Buttigieg and James Talarico are both the same and both about as exciting as a rice cake. So I mean, what do they actually have to offer in 2028? It's Kamala again, because no one else carries any kind of weight or that they've. They've died off in the party. And I don't even say that jokingly. I mean the old party that actually brought things to the table that were at least interesting even though they were wrong. They're no longer with us. Just the angry youths are all that remains.
David Brody
I'm burdened by what must be again. Or something like that. I don't know what she's doing.
Tony Knett
No worries. Joy will come in the morning.
David Brody
Yes, yes. And a few other things will come in the morning too, like a stiff drink the night before. All right, so Tony, let's break the fourth wall because there's a paragraph on prompter right here that I'm not going to read. It has to do with the Republicans and politics and all. Let me just cut to the chase. Are they going to get a shellacking in the midterms? That. That's my bottom line chat GPT paraphrase version of that paragraph on prompter. What's going to happen?
Tony Knett
I'm going to give you the real answer. We don't know yet for three reasons. And this is also the non teleprompter answer. So we don't know for three reasons. The economy hasn't actually decided whether or not it's going to kick in that matters. And we don't know, are the tax returns going to be enough to give everyone a little oomph. If the situation in Iran calms down and crude drops drops from 102 right now down to like 50 or 60, then we're going to see a lot of price economics factoring in that are going to really drive things forward for Republican popularity. Also, the House and the Senate are gonna actually have to pass some legislation that's asking quite a lot because that group is even lazier than Kamala Harris social media team. So if you can actually get those things effectuated those three bits forward, then yeah, you're actually going to see that Republicans do okay in the midterms. But right now I think it's a little too soon to tell. And I see everyone want to play Nostradamus because it's easier. And again, Steven, unlike you, I see it. And yeah, it would be really nice to maybe do some clickbait and say I have looked into my Palantir and seen all throughout Gondor and that's just not the case. I think things have to play out a little more before we know for sure.
David Brody
Tony.
Terrence Bates
Yeah, you're hilarious today. You are on it. Please, ladies and gentlemen, today waiters and waitresses you every day. This is true.
David Brody
And the veal is great as well, I hear, by the way.
Terrence Bates
So let's talk California a little bit. And more specifically, Eric Swalwell and the possibility of Republicans getting a bit of a windfall leading up to November. Eric Swalwell's political career is a bit on shaky grounds. It's not because of California earthquakes, rather a couple of allegations against against him that have been, you know, kind of derailing his trip towards the governorship. Of course, Democrats in that particular state also kind of pushing back against him. He is bowing out after being accused by at least four women of sexual misconduct. This potentially could also lead to calls for and is already leading to calls for him to bow out of Congress as well. Again, that could potentially be a windfall for Republicans. How are you seeing all this ultimately play out?
Tony Knett
Well, actually, I think as far as the gubernatorial race is concerned, it's not necessarily the best thing for Republicans just because they had kind of a three way 10% tie that had the two Republican candidates pulling ahead of them. And so Swalwell, if he wouldn't have been able to have pulled ahead or pushed Katie Porter ahead, quite the feat of strength in and of itself, then you would have actually seen maybe a jungle primary two Republican candidate situation. Now, I think that Katie Porter is likely to be the lady that steps forward if she can stop abusing her staff for a few seconds to be the main candidate in the election, which could actually create a Republican situation because she is unlikable. But in what you referenced about the Congress side of things, Hakeem Jeffries came out and said, look, Eric Swalwell, these allegations are gross. There's more women coming forward all the time. He has staff that's leaving him. We have photos and videos that are now coming out because, you know, of course there were. And what do we see? Calls from Hakeem Jeffries for him to resign from Congress. Oh, no, no. So he's comfortable sitting next to the alleged sexual assaulter. But oh well, when it comes to the California gubernatorial race, that's too politically important. And so I think that this is going to be a bear trap that they step into because again, you have to look at the other Democrat House member who just defrauded female or the one who took text message instructions from Jeffrey Epstein or the one who body slammed federal agents or the other one who body slammed federal agents. If all of those things are fine to stick around for, why resign for sexual assault?
Allison Hahns
Okay, one other topic we have to get your Thoughts on Tony. President Trump tore into Pope Leo in a truth social post last night. The president responded to the pontification pontiff's criticism of the Iran war, writing pope Leo is weak on crime and terrible for foreign policy, and later adding, if I wasn't in the White House, Leo wouldn't be in the Vatican. Tony, what's your take on this rift between the White House and the Vatican?
Tony Knett
Now, look, as an independent Fundamental Baptist from the Midwest, I am sure everyone is eager to hear what I think about the president slapping the Pope. But all I can say is this. The Catholic Church has a very long history and tradition, a very, very interesting foreign policy and kind of stances on what a righteous or a just war is. As long as things like immigration, I'm not going to claim to be an expert on those from the pontiff's positions. And I also don't think the president has always claimed to be a Catholic theologian supreme. So I think that the president calling out Pope Leo here, I don't think he likes when the Pope steps outside of. Of matters that are considered more towards the faith and more towards international politics that he might be more accustomed to paying attention to because the dudes from Chicago. So I'm not entirely. I again, Trump kind of slaps at everybody who kind of gets in his way. That doesn't bother me as much. But I mean, if I again, if you ask the Baptist what he thinks are probably the two weakest positions on the modern church, I'm not going to frown at that. Again, just being transparent with you guys.
David Brody
So, Tony, let's go to the Fundamental Baptist part of your life, if you will, and let's.
Tony Knett
You got it. I'll get the casserole.
David Brody
All right. I'll meet you at Cracker Barrel. So listen, let's talk. I know, let's talk a little bit about this picture he put up. You know what I'm going to show you? It's making waves, depicting himself as Jesus. Yikes. So let's. Shall we put it up so we have a nice little reference here. Anyhow, the point is this. It's coming. Here it comes.
Allison Hahns
Okay, we're back at the picture. Okay.
David Brody
Oh, we're back at the picture. So let me get this straight. So President Trump has managed to leave it to Trump managed to offend Catholics and evangelicals all within the matter of one hour in two social media posts. I tell you what. But good for him. He does things in huge numbers for sure. Your take, by the way.
Tony Knett
I mean, yeah, I mean, shocker. I Don't really care for it. But again, also, I would chalk this up to the fact that I think the President should put the phone down. I mean, he makes blunders on social media every single day. So I'm not. Again, do I like this? No. But also, I'm not someone who hangs my Christianity based on what the President of the United States does. This is why I.
David Brody
That has to be called out. But that does have to be called.
Brian Glenn
I agree.
David Brody
My doesn't hang in the balance based on a truth social post. But. But we have to say something.
Allison Hahns
Right?
David Brody
And you are. You are saying something.
Steve Rogers
Well, sure.
Tony Knett
And I. What I would. What I was kind of, what I was heading towards is that again, Franklin Graham just again sent a letter to the White House telling the President, look, dude, you talk all the time about how you want to get to heaven. You talk all the time about, hey, you know, you're trying to earn your way. You cannot earn your way to heaven. It is not something that you can seek towards. And then gave him the plan of salvation. And I hope the President takes that because after the President's heart and mind are changed by the Holy Spirit, I'm not gonna have to see these kinds of images. I don't think those are there. The President has a massive ego. Massive.
Allison Hahns
Well, you know what? Franklin Graham, I think he sent a letter to the President about a year ago or so telling him to take it easy on the F bombs. Lord knows what he's thinking about when he's seeing these images this morning.
Tony Knett
Yeah, not the best there, Bob.
Allison Hahns
Okay, Tony, thank you so much for being here with us this morning. We appreciate you so much.
Tom Smith
Thanks.
Terrence Bates
Thanks for the great one liners. You were awesome today. I'll be back for the show at 10.

Have a good one. Okay, moving on. When the dollar's convertibility into gold ended in 1971, gold was fixed at $35 an ounce. Hard to believe that. Fast forward to today and the US dollar has lost over 85% of its purchasing power. Gold, on the other hand, has increased in value by over 12,000%. That's why Central banks are buying gold at record levels. And that's why major firms like Vanguard and BlackRock hold significant portions and positions in gold. And that's why we, we encourage you to consider diversifying your savings with physical gold from the Birch Gold Group. But it starts with education. All right, it is time to spill some tea and in the cup Today, Hunter Biden, the son of former President Joe Biden, is calling out President Trump's oldest sons, Donald Trump Jr. And Eric Trump to a cage match. The comment came during a promotional video for a cross country tour organized by YouTube journalist who is behind the Channel 5 Carnival, a live event series mixing politics, media and entertainment. Biden says that he is trying to organize the fight, adding he's 100% in if it does in fact happen. Take a look at this.
David Brody
I think he's trying to organize a. A cage match, me versus Eric and Don Jr. I told him I'd do it 100% in if he can pull it off.
Terrence Bates
And if he can't, I'm still coming.
Show Host/Producer
All right, let's discuss with David Terrence and Allison. Terrence, this is a pretty bizarre story.
Terrence Bates
I probably shouldn't say this, but I'm going to go there. Allison, you know what? You know exactly where I'm going. Cocaine is a hell of a drug. Hunter, get help.
Allison Hahns
And the picture is bad.
Terrence Bates
I'll get us in more trouble if I go beyond that. I'm just gonna leave it there.
Allison Hahns
I have to say that if this seriously, if this was a pay per view event, I must have, like, low brow humor. But I would watch it. I would watch it 100%.
David Brody
You're not alone there. All this thing would be a money maker like you wouldn't believe. Now, aren't they doing a UFC thing at the White House right for July 4th? Well, here you go. Here you go. Forget the UFC fighters. Put Don Trump Jr. And Hunter Biden in the ring at the White House, and there you go. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. I think you summed it up best.
Allison Hahns
This would be so amazing. And what if they did it, like, for charity? I mean, come on. It's a win.
Terrence Bates
Win.
David Brody
I think they're.
Terrence Bates
Hunter might not actually make it to the ring. He'll get caught by Secret Service in the west wing looking for a baggie in the entrance, and he may not even make it. He'll be like, I left a baggie here years ago. And has anybody seen it?
David Brody
Yeah, they're still doing cleanup on aisle five in the White House from when he was there. There's no doubt about it. Sorry I went there.
Terrence Bates
Me too. And I'm not making fun of anyone with addiction but Hunt. I'm not so sure he's over it. I'm sorry. I'm just not.
Show Host/Producer
Well, he's ready to go if, if this does in fact happen. He. He says he's ready. All right. Still to come on American Sunrise, our own Terrance Bates is standing by with the top story that he's following today. The one to watch is after the break. Don't miss it. Foreign.

Welcome back to American Sunrise. I'm Alison Hahns. Thanks so much for being with us this morning. Good morning. It's time now for the One to watch. And Terrence, what are you keeping your eye on today?
Terrence Bates
Well, Alison, I'm watching the ongoing situation in Sudan where families are often going days without a single meal. The war between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Response Forces now entering its third year, leaving farms destroyed, markets collapsed and millions of people displaced across the the country. In the hardest hit regions including north Darfur and South Kordofan, families are going days without eating, with some forced to rely on leaves and animal feed just to survive.
Public Sponsor Voice
Wow.
Terrence Bates
Aid organizations say more than 28 million people, nearly two thirds of Sudan's population, now acutely food insecure at best, some families eating once a day. This is obviously a serious humanitarian crisis that I'm keeping my eye on. And I just have to say, guys, in this day and age, the fact that something like this is going on is just striking and it's painful. We should be beyond this, but we're not. And it's also another example of how war really threatens just regular, average, everyday people. It's not just about the military, but the people who suffer are the people of these communities in these countries. David.
David Brody
Yeah, and you said this isn't going on three months. You said three years. Three years. I mean this is really just horrible to See and watch. And I'm so glad you're bringing it to our attention this morning. And we need to do more of it. I think every media outlet needs to do more of this. Look here, here's my view. Forget for a moment. Take off your political cap for a moment, all right? Take off any sort of political leanings and your criticisms of the government and waste and what money should be going here and all. Forget all that for a second. Go find a charity that you believe in, that you support, whether it be one of faith. Maybe it's not a faith charity, whatever. Do your due diligence. Find a charity that you believe is actually going to help these folks in the Sudan and give your money there. We're not talking about government intervention here. There's a whole argument to be made and talk about what should, should be done. Let's put that aside for a second. How about just take what you've got and help out some folks over there? Just from a charity perspective, this is a humanitarian issue. And once again, I want to be very clear, a lot of these charities are going to waste your money. So make sure you find the right one.
Allison Hahns
Alison, I think that's a great point. And I think what I'd like to say is that. But you can be a populist here in this country and you do not have to be an isolationist. I don't think it's an either or. I love this country and I want people in this country to be protected and taken care of. And I think that we have to take care of the homeland. But I think at the same time, there are so many things happening around the world. And the stronger that we are at home, the more that we're going to be able to help other humans around the world. And if you really drill down into a lot of the work that President Trump and his administration are doing right now, I think that's the end goal.
David Brody
You're right. Well said.
Allison Hahns
Thank you so much. And thank you, all of you out there, for joining us today. It was a fantastic show. We really appreciate, appreciate you spending your morning with us. War Room is up next. Go boldly now.
Tom Smith
