Ahead on American Sunrise, President Trump is set to hold a press conference today after two US Airmen were rescued after their fighter jet was shot down over Iran. Ahead, details of the mission to Rescue the wounded F15 weapons specialist before the Iranians got to him. Plus, President Trump escalates his threats against Iran, vowing to take down the country's power plants and infrastructure if the Islamic republic doesn't reopen the Strait of Hormuz by tomorrow. Stick around to hear the explicative laden response and promise from the president. And later, country music is rooted in faith, hope and inspiration. Coming up, country music star Buddy Brown joins us live to share his faith journey and and to talk about his new book, which is titled ain't no WI Fi in the Woods. Can't wait to hear more about that. Those stories and so much more ahead on American sunrise.
C
Good morning America.
A
Welcome to AMERICAN sunrise. Whether it's culture, we have breaking news to share with you.
B
Politics.
C
President Trump is joining us live now from Florida.
B
We've got you covered.
C
This is what it looks like to be a patriot.
B
We have to protect the American family.
A
The American dream is still alive.
C
I'm David Brody.
B
I'm terrence.
A
And I'm Dr. Gina. Good morning, everybody. I'm Dr. Gina. We are live with you from the Palm Beaches. Let's bring in David brody in Washington, D.C. and Terrence Bates in our Denver newsroom. Good morning, guys.
D
Good morning.
B
Good morning.
C
You're waving hello?
B
Yeah, I'm waving. It's, it's a Monday morning. I'm still waking up. And so any sort of body movements hopefully will help that. David and Gina, good morning. Good to see both of you.
A
Yeah. Monday hit hard this morning. I'll tell you what, I miss those days back in school when you got like the whole week of Easter off. What happened to that? Zen? No,
B
I would love that for sure. Zen. Yeah. Let's get working on that. So look, guys, President Trump raising some eyebrows this morning for, for this truth social post I know you guys both saw it. How do I know? Well, because we were talking about it over the weekend. If you read this closely, I won't read it out for you, but you'll see for yourself. He uses some explicatives there. Calling on Iran to make a deal and specifically to open the Strait of Hormuz. He has set. He set a deadline, excuse me, for tomorrow. In the meantime, Pakistan has reportedly sent the United States and Iran both a ceasefire proposal. And we're expecting to hear more from the President when he hosts the Press briefing at 1 o' clock this afternoon. It's going to be interesting to see how all of this ultimately plays out. I'm curious, Dr. Gina, your initial response or reaction when you read the Truth Social post?
A
Well, I was with all of my 20 Easter guests and I was sitting there and I looked around the room and it was really interesting. Some people who had really cooled on Donald Trump, I read it out loud. I forget who sent it to me. I believe it was my friend, former producer here, Caroline, and was the first person to send it to me. And I immediately sent it to you guys because I just thought it was so amazing. And I thought, wow is what I thought. And then people around the room, I was kind of getting everyone's take on it, and they all thought it was hilarious. Classic, emboldened, epic Trump and two people in the room who said they had completely softened to Trump and were really not Trump people anymore, that that one truth post was enough to almost bring them back around. And I thought that was really interesting. They like, that's the Trump we want to see, not the Trump who's operated by people around him. That's the Trump we want to see. So. But then I know, David, you had a different reaction, or no, it wasn't you, it was Brian, but go ahead. It was Brian.
C
Yeah.
A
Who we'll get to later in the show. Yeah.
C
No, I mean, my reaction was just. Well, a couple of things. First of all, the language obviously was raw, to say the least, and especially on EAs, and everybody's concentrating on that. And let me just be honest with everybody. I get that. Right? I get that. Having said that, I'm looking deeper at it, Right? I mean, what is this really about for Trump? It's always about the art of the deal. I mean, you gotta understand, we know this, guys, right? I mean, his prism is the art of the deal. He wrote the book, literally wrote the book. What does that mean? Shock dominance, unpredictability. That's the point of what he posted there. Everybody's getting caught up in the language. And don't get me wrong, I thought the language language shouldn't have been there. But having said that, the shock dominance and unpredictability part, the whole reason he's doing this is because he wants to end the war. He wants to get to a deal. But it's very hard to negotiate with radical Shia clerics who believe that they are going to be martyrs in death. I mean, death is the victory for them. Sadly, they'll find out that they end up in hell. But when you're trying to negotiate with people that want to die, that's a problem. And so that's why I have a feeling there will be no deal here. And Tuesday at 8pm Eastern is not gonna be pleasant in Iran, Terrence.
B
And really, to me, that's the most important part of the post. There was actually another post in which he said, Tuesday, 8pm Eastern, which obviously seems to lay out his timeline for Iran either getting on the ship or getting blown up with the ship. And so that's really what I'm looking forward to. Yes, I clutched my pearls a little bit. If I were wearing pearl, I clutched them a little bit based on the language. But again, for me, it's about. All right, so you've pretty strongly lay out your case. So are you gonna follow up tomorrow? And that's what I'm watching for.
A
Again, we don't elect the president to be a pastor. Donald Trump's Christianity, who the heck knows? And so I kind of don't wanna judge him by our Christian standards, if you will. I don't think Donald Trump has ever come out and said, I'm a believer. You know, I've never heard him say those words. He does talk about Jesus. He's deferential to his. He likes to call him evangelical. I would prefer the word just Christian base. But, you know, he doesn't really claim to be, you know, in church every Sunday or, you know, really surrendered and in love with Jesus. You don't hear that kind of language from him. So we elected a president, and what he did I thought was in the best interest of our country. Now, I don't like the language either, and please don't confuse me to be excusing it. I'm just saying I think it was effective. And I didn't like the day, especially for him to say that so much.
B
David, we're going to continue to talk about this. I know you want to talk. Well, I promise we'll have this conversation more. We Want to get to our Bible verse really quickly, David, Cuz otherwise we'll take up the rest of the hour. I promise we'll get back to it. Is that okay?
C
That's fair.
A
Are you sure? Is that okay?
B
All right.
A
Because I'm fine with you going ahead. I could say that Bible verse really fast.
C
No, go ahead. Let's do it.
A
Let's do it. Philippians 2, 10 and 11 is what it is. And that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of those in heaven and of those on earth, and of those under the earth. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. It's my favorite one to focus on on Easter because Easter can really make you sad. I mean, at least Good Friday in that, you know. So that's, that's why I sent that one along for today. President Trump is slated to hold a press conference today after announcing the rescue of two US airmen whose F15E fighter jet was shot down over Iran. The pilot was recovered first from a remote mountainous area and the second crew member was rescued later in a separate operation. Trump warned that the United States could take further action as tensions continue to escalate. Joining us now, retired Air Force pararescue man Steve Nisbett. Take us through Steve, if you would, how this operation would have looked.
B
Yeah.
E
So thank you for having me and happy Easter. Yes. I spent all my adult life, my career doing this job, pararesc. Now, what is this job? So there's two different versions or two different directions that you can go. The first pickup, the first pilot was very, very different than the second pilot. All right. Or the weapon system officer.
C
All right.
E
That first pilot was picked up by pararescuement. It was a very small team, six PJs flying in the back of two HH 60s flying in in a very dangerous environment, facing a lot of anti air threats. Right. The key is a snatch and grab. Get in there as fast as possible and get out as fast as possible. They sustained a significant amount of gunfire, small arms and AAA and surface to air threats and that ended up rendering those 60s or those Pavehawk helicopters pretty much almost unfly after that mission. The second pickup or the weapons systems officer, the most recent one that was picked up was a completely different team. Now I've worked on this team as well, but this is your tier one unit. This is the special operators that are going in. Usually designed for special hostage rescue and high value target assaults. They are out there just in case the worst happens. And that weapon system officer gets captured, and they would then go do the hostage rescue. They were postured and ready to go. We were tracking this individual. He is essentially the most wanted man alive at that time, playing the ultimate game of hide and seek. Fortunately, we have a lot of technology. We've got aircraft or this guy's cameras, different transponders, and we're able to track them the entire time. So in this instance, they took a huge team of approximately 100 personnel, flew them out there, and really enveloped the area, rolling out to that individual. And the biggest risk there would be what we call a SAR trap or a search and rescue trap, where you would fall into an ambush. Fortunately, that didn't happen. And we controlled the skies and got to that weapon system officer as quickly as possible and got them out of there as safely as possible.
C
I mean, just fascinating. What he climbed 7,000ft up a mountainside. I mean, what in the world? I mean, this thing. I mean, only the United States could do this, correct?
B
Correct.
E
Yeah. You have a unique group of specialists like myself that are trained specifically to go into mountainous areas. We're trained really to do anywhere at any time. That's one of the mottos that others may live. And you can go anywhere at any time. We do snow and ice rescue, water rescue, swift water rescue, confined space structure collapse, pretty much anything you can possibly think of. We're a jack of all trades. We're trained to go do. Unfortunately, this individual recognized going up into the mountains is a very inconvenient place to be. So go there and then wait for specialists like myself that are going to be attached to these units or teams of them, teams of PJs.
C
Wow.
E
That'll bring in rope systems to go. Go get this guy out.
B
President Trump, go ahead. Yeah. Do you miss it? Yeah, that's a good question.
E
Well, after 10 deployments and doing the job and scratching the itch quite a bit and dodging death, I'm happy to be done. But when I see missions like this and I see my team out there going and doing that, that itch starts to get itchy. And I really, really wish I was the one going and doing it. However, I am a little bit older now. The young fellas, let's let them go out and do it, and I'm happy and proud for them to do it.
B
Based on the circumstances leading to this rescue, what are you able to read in? Based on your professional experience, your experience having been behind Enem carrying out these sorts of missions, what are you able to read into how this war is going, how dominant the US Is when it comes to securing the airspace over Iran and et cetera.
E
Well, I'm actually quite surprised at how quickly we were able to dominate that airspace. If you really look at that first pilot pickup, I was extremely surprised to see slow moving C130s and HH60s flying that low over Iran. Keep in mind, I spent a decade and plus training to go do some of what that, what's happening now. And, and that was a very, very difficult problem set for us to have to go go plan for and challenge ourselves to. So, so in order for that team to fly in now, they did face significant air threats. But I mean it's, it was pretty surprising for me to see the helicopters flying into Iran were previously there was no way, there was just no way for you to get helicopters in that area. So it seems to be going well. I'm interested to see what happens tomorrow and what those guys do.
A
Steve Nisbett, thank you so much for being with us. Fascinating.
E
Thank you for having me.
B
Thanks, Steve.

Coming up, we're going to check out the hottest headlines from the RAP newsroom with Terrance Bates. Also later, the Israeli military says rocket science fired by Hezbollah have struck near or inside United nations peacekeeper positions in southern Lebanon with at least 165 rockets launched. In the latest salvo, the IDF accuses Hezbollah of endangering UN forces and violating international law as tensions escalate along the Lebanon border. What does this escalation mean for regional stability? We're going to break it down on American Sunrise.

This AMAC newsbreak coming to you from the least mature citizen on this panel. President Trump will participate in a White House press briefing this afternoon. While the war in Iran and the rescue of a couple of F15 fighter jet crew members that were shot down over Iran will likely be issues he'll address. The commander in chief will also face questions about his proposed 2027 budget. The spending plan includes a request for 152 million, excuse me, dollars to reopen the infamous Alcatraz prison. Alcatraz closed more than 60 years ago and has since been a tourist destination. So far, the Bureau of Prisons hasn't determined an exact cost for the rebuilding and reopening the prison as an active facility. However, officials with the bureau say the agency is moving forward with evaluating and formulating the actions necessary to reopen and operate that prison. President Trump talking tough and appearing ready to blow up Iran's power plants and bridges as soon as tomorrow. Taking to Truth Social on Easter Sunday, the commander in chief writing and these are quotes, Tuesday will be power plant day and bridge day all wrapped up in one in Iran. Open up the effing Strait of Hormuz, you crazy something or you'll be living in hell. Just watch. He writes. He followed that message up by saying that Tuesday, 8pm Eastern time would suggest that's the deadline for Iran to take action. These latest Trump threats come as Israel says that it killed the head of intelligence for Iran's Revolutionary Guard. While making the announcement, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz saying, quote, iran's leaders live with the sense of being targeted. We will continue to hunt them down one by one. And President Trump jumping headfirst into the California gubernatorial race. While you were sleeping, the commander in chief was wide awake in endorsing former British government aide Steve Hilton to be California's next governor in his endorsement pitch on truth social 47 writing people are fleeing, crime is increasing and taxes are the highest of any state in the country. Maybe the world. Steve can turn it around before it's too late. And as president, I will help him do so. Just days after appearing here on American Sunrise to discuss his campaign, Hilton now has President Trump's complete and total endorsement. Ten candidates are in California's open gubernatorial primary. The top two vote getters. We'll then move on to the general election. That's a quick check of your headlines. Now let's get a quick check of your forecast. Weather Nation meteorologist Tracy Anthony joining us with the very latest. Also, just a quick reminder, log on to our various social media platforms, be it getter, rumble, YouTube, let us know where you are and you might get the hookup from Tracy with a hometown forecast in our next hour. Traci, good morning.
H
Hey, good morning. You know, that's my favorite part. I always learn new cities, new small towns. But as we get into this week, we are going to continue to have Gulf coast storms. So South Padre Island, Texas look at this yesterday, just very, very gray, gloomy, and those winds were very aggressive. This was a system rolling on through. And this cold front is going to be impacting areas like Florida now for the next couple of days. So we have three days of excessive rainfall, outlooks where flooding could be possible across Florida's east coast. Then we're going to be dealing with some fire danger across the Central Plains. But midweek is when we're going to have things start to ramp up. So the next 24 hours from coast to coast, it looks relatively calm and quiet. A little rain in the four corners and a good amount of rain for Florida. So this is when Florida is not actually having the best weather. But other than that, we've got that next system that will roll on through for Wednesday, and that's going to kind of reinforce some chilly temperatures across the north. So as for the start of the day, the Great Lakes, you're going to be in the 30s and 40s by the afternoon, 88 in Phoenix and Atlanta, 69 degrees. So definitely feeling a little more like April. And Terence, I thought this was cute. This is some zoo animals in Oakland celebrating Easter. Figured I'd end with that.
B
Very nice. Nicely played there, Tracy. Thanks so much. We'll check in with you next hour.
A
Yep.
B
All right. Up next, President Trump set to hold a press briefing later on today, during which we're expecting more details about the rescue of two airmen who were shot down over Iran. We'll have expert analysis leading up to the president's remarks. First, though, a quick look at this day in history. It was on this date in 1917 that the United States officially entered World War I after years of neutrality. President Woodrow Wilson asked Congress to declare war on Germany following deadly submarine attacks on American ships. Congress approved the request, and American troops soon headed to Europe. It was a move that helped turn the tide of the the war in the favor of the Allies.
C
So imagine President Trump today. He's got the egg roll, the Easter egg roll there at the White House at 10am and then he's going to talk about Iran and the war at 1pm that's called running the gamut, everybody. Welcome back to American Sunrise. President Trump gave new details on the rescue of two US airmen after their F15E fighter jet was shot down over Iran. The pilot was recovered first from a remote mountainous area, and the second crew member was rescued later in a separate operation. Trump announced he's going to hold that press conference like we said today at 1pm Military leaders will be with him to discuss the operation and some of these potential next steps. Let's bring in Dr. G and T because it rhymes and we're all three in the triple box. So, guys, I mean, there's a lot to unpack here as to what President Trump is going to say. And Terrence, we also have word that there is a potential, potential all caps ceasefire deal on the table negotiated by Pakistan. Apparently, the United States and Iran both have some of those details, so we're looking forward to an update on that as well.
B
Yeah, so on the whole ceasefire thing, Pakistan is coming out and saying, yeah, we've sent both countries this cease fire agreement. I'm sorry, I don't see President Trump really being too influenced by that cease fire. He's got in mind what he's going to do and how he's going to move forward. And that's just it. So Iran or Pakistan? Excuse me. Thanks for playing. I just don't see much coming of that. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. 8:00 clock Eastern, 8:00pm Eastern Time. That's when President Trump says the deadline for Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz and to get on board with his plan is going to be up. That's what I'm looking forward to. And, David, I promised earlier in the hour that I would give you an opportunity to finish your thoughts based on that post from President Trump, basically laying out his timeline for action in Iran. So, please, I want to be true to my promise and allow you that time. I apologize for cutting you short.
C
No, not. No problem at all. I was just going to echo a bit what Gina was saying regarding the salty language from President Trump, because here's the thing. I would rather have a president who uses salty language from time to time and is the most pro life president we've ever seen, rather than someone that speaks like an angel and wants to promote policies that kill babies. That's all I was gonna say.
A
Dr. G. Yeah, that's a great. A great punctuation to put on that entire conversation. I think that's really like, that's what we elected him to do, to lead decisively and we didn't elect him to be our pastor. And I think we need to remember that. I'm not excusing the language on Easter or any of that, but I don't think it matters really what I think, you know, because he was doing his job. And sometimes I had a World War II bomber pilot. Grandpa. Whew. That language, my goodness. It didn't matter. Holidays or what? He was just, wow, it was just always spicy.
C
So. Well, he also wouldn't be the first president to be using salty language. And if they, FDR and some of these others had social media back in the day. Come on.
A
Yeah, canceled.
B
Canceled. You know, for me, again, this is what I'm going to harp on. I want to see what happens tomorrow. And you know, I think that I get the sense that the president is at the end of his rope and he's trying one last gasp of diplomacy before he really moves forward fully aggressively. And I just want to see what ultimately comes of that. To me, that is the bigger story that I think is what most people are looking forward to, to see how he ultimately does respond.
C
Well, go ahead, Gina.
A
Just the irony that he called that diplomacy, that's all. I get it. I get it. I was just giggling to myself.
C
Let's also understand that the next kind of storyline that's going to potentially develop after 8pm Eastern if he goes forward with this. Because you said all par power plants and bridges going to be basically in essence blown to smithereens and gone. What does that mean exactly? Because the liberals are crying right now that that would be war crime. Well, hold on. Time out, time out. If the power plants are associated with military installations, that's legal, that's fine. Same with bridges. If these are civilian power plants that have no military tie in, then that would be considered under the Geneva Convention a war crime for sure. This is where the America first crowd, by the way, Tucker, Marjorie Taylor Greene, others would agree with the liberals on this. They would say those are war crimes. Matter of fact, Marjorie Taylor Greene is pretty much out there. I don't know if she used the word war crime, but she's pretty much close to it. So the America first crowd is going to have an issue if he's targeting, if he, the president is targeting civilian power plans. I don't think that will happen. I don't think that they will go down that route. They'll always say that there is a military tie in an installation somehow, some way to these power plants. That's my sense of it. That's it.
B
No, I think you're right.
A
Okay.
B
I think you're right. I think you're right. The narrative is already being drawn, whatever the reality is or not. I suspect the administration and the Pentagon are already drawing the narrative and putting together arguments, if you will, to counter any potential concerns that may be raised. But, but the bigger picture is I think for the administration that this is a way to send a message that, look, we're not playing with you anymore. We tried our hand at diplomacy. The word is going to come up again. We tried our hand. We tried to give you several days, really more than a week to comply with our demands. And Iran, if you don't, well, there's going to be hell to pay. And I think hell is the word the president used in his post.
C
Yeah, for sure. All right. Well, we're going from that to dark chocolate.
A
Yeah.
C
Coming up.
B
You called?
C
Well, why don't you take this tease then, Seabeex. Coming up, could Terrence be your new health hero? Actually, I'm sorry. Dark chocolate is what I'm talking about. Experts say 70 to 85% of cocoa is packed with antioxidants. A fighting for fight information. We'll talk about it when we come back.

All right. Welcome back to American Sunrise. That's the Everglades, Florida. I can just almost see the crocodile eyes, the alligator eyes at night staring back at me. Thanks for joining us. Time for today's health news. It is sponsored by the Wellness Company. And under the microscope today, new research shedding light on the health benefits of dark chocolate. Experts say dark chocolate, especially with 70 to 85% cocoa, is rich in antioxidants that help fight inflammation and protect against disease. It may also support heart health by lowering blood pressure and improving cholesterol while boosting brain function and even mood through the release of endorphins. Dr. Sworn. It's still high in calories. Moderation is the key. With about one ounce a day recommended for the best of benefits. This doesn't mean you go order like Hershey's barks when you offset when you offset the cocoa with a bunch of sugar, it doesn't have the same impact, unfortunately. But it is nice to know because you can mix it with like honey and cream cheese and put it in things. I did that yesterday. I made a bunny cake and the filling was with honey and cream cheese and added some cocoa in there for the health benefits and pretty darn healthy, especially because I had raw cream cheese from the farmer's market. None of the fillers and stuff that come in the grocery store. So those are some good hacks for ways to use your cocoa. All right. The Trump administration has brought a lot of positive changes when it comes to fixing our broken health care system. But the reality, there's only so much the government can do if we want to make America healthy again. It's going to start at home with each of us. And that's where the wellness company comes in. You know them and their doctors. Their products are the gold standard when it comes to keeping you safe and healthy. They make sure that you're prepared for whatever happens with their prescription medical kits. These kits have an assortment of life saving medications and guidebooks to assist in the proper use of the meds in the kit. Additionally, the wellness company offers a variety of products from parasite cleanses to methylene blue. Weight loss. So much more. C
Yes, Gina.
A
Empanadas yesterday.
C
Thank you for bringing that up. I like to say yes.
A
So it's a Brody family tradition.
C
Apparently so. Jesus and empanadas. It seems to be a theme Christmas. We had empanadas and someone brought empanadas to the Easter family buffet. I protested, but no, they brought them anyhow.
A
Was your protest in the form of eating them correct?
B
Twice.
C
I protested.
A
Okay. I have a confession.
C
Oh, gosh. What?
A
There might have been some empanadas at my house yesterday.
C
Stop it. I don't believe that. Is that true?
A
It is true. My son brought a friend and the friend made Easter bunny shaped. And as I was making fun of you to my family, telling them how you always. I'm telling them the whole story about how you always have empanadas at Christmas and Easter. Somehow you always end up doing that. And I'm joking about it and telling my family, oh, my gosh, Brody had empanadas again. My husband goes, so did you. I'm like, oh, so did I. Oh, my goodness. Yep. So I'm festive, clean, secret. Sam.
C
I'm sorry, can I just go back to something you said earlier? Because I feel like you buried the lead. Did you just say you made a bunny cake? Is There anything you don't do?
A
I made a bunny cake. I'm a little. Yeah, I got this little bunny mold. It's the cutest darn thing. And you cook it in halves, so it's each half, and then you can stuff it with stuff, so it makes this little cute, fat bunny. It was really cute. But I will confess, it did fall over after I served it, though. And I got a picture. I can show you the. I'll send you the picture. The bunny cake did accidentally fall. It was a little listing a little. If you're a boater, you know the meaning of listing. It was listing a little, and it kind of. Kind of fell over, but it still tasted really good. And the filling I made for it, which was relatively healthy, actually, was really good.
C
Really?
A
Yeah.
C
Okay.
A
Well, I know I just make stuff up, David. I really do. Recipes don't appeal to me. It's too confining. So I just start throwing stuff in there. And there's a lot of people like me. Creative cooks, we call ourselves.
C
Well, I kind of feel like. I'm sorry, we have some breaking news. What you're telling me, did Iran agree to the ceasefire? Is that what you're telling me you
A
don't want us to talk about? My buddy.
C
Oh, rejected. Oh, I got the word wrong. Okay, we have breaking news in my ear. Literally, Pierce, our producer, telling us that, Gina, Iran has just rejected the ceasefire proposal by Pakistan. Not surprising. We talked about this at the top of the show because why? Basically, part of that ceasefire agreement would have been the first thing that they would have had to do. Iran would have had to open the Strait of Hormuz. Why would they do that? That's their negotiating leverage. Yeah, that's their leverage. So they're not going to do that. And then, oh, by the way, you can't enrich uranium, which was the other part of the deal, and they're not going to do that. That's why we're in this thing in the first place, if you will. So, Gina, this is not surprising.
A
No, it's not surprising at all. In fact, I'd be shocked if it had gone the other way. And I'd be waiting for trickery on that. At least they're acting predictably, which Donald Trump doesn't. And that will be the advantage of our efforts in Iran, for sure.
C
But, Gina, this kind of goes to where we think this is all going, which is that, as Terrence keeps saying, Tuesday night, 8pm Eastern, which is what the President has said. Look, I know the America First Crowd may not be happy about what's about to come, but we also talk about in maga, finished the job. So this is feeling like, okay, well, if we really want President Trump and the United States to finish the job, here we go. And it's going to get messy and it's not going to get pretty. But then again, if they, quote, finish the job, what comes next? The repercussions. I mean, I'm not quite sure what happens next in terms of the Iranian people, how it affects Iran and then what? I mean, I know I'm getting ahead of the game, Gina, but like, if you knock out their power plants and their bridges and you basically rain holy hell down on the country of Iran because you're talking about the regime, but really you're talking about ultimately the people will be affected, then what? Then what? Well, reconstruction, United States helping to rebuild in Iran. Money, money, money, taxpayer money. See, this is getting very, very complicated.
A
Well, my guess is that the war psychology happening here is that, yeah, it is going to put some pressure, but at this point, you know, our side needs the Iranian people to rise up and they haven't yet. And so, as much as I hate to say it, I'm guessing that's part of the psychological strategy here. Now, the thing about it is, so far, everything has been so surgical, so well done, that it's hard, I think, even for some of the America first people to be totally all in angry at Trump. They might not like the idea of the war, they don't want it to drag on, et cetera, et cetera, but the strikes have been so surgical and so well done that it really has come off as quite an art almost at this point, when you include the negotiating in that, it really just comes down to an art. But if things start to go wrong, we start to see civilian lives taken, we lose more troops especially, I think that is not going to go well. And if this continues to drag out, as you said, he really, we really are at a place where there's a D day in a matter of speaking in that it is between boots on the ground, which we know America first people, MAGA do not want, and finishing the job, like you said. And these are going to be really tough, really critical decisions. And President Trump is going to have to take every opportunity to really lead and explain to the American people what's happening as we go along.
C
I just wanna say one last thing. I know we have to go to break, but you know, the stated goal, there's never been a stated goal of regime Change by the United States. Okay, but let's all like just do a little of this. Yeah, right. In other words, I think what's gonna happen is after Tuesday at 8pm Eastern and when the dust finally settles, after everything goes, let's be honest, kaboom in Iran, I believe whether it be three months, six months, nine months, a year, eventually the Iranian people will take to the streets and they will have, we hope, the final say on what happens with their future. I think that's part of the plan here.
A
We'll see. Yeah.
C
All right. Coming up, President Trump invokes God in a fiery 48 hour ultimatum to Iran. What we're talking about here, warning of the strait of our movement isn't reopened or a deal made, all hell will rain down. So we're going to analyze that next as we continue here on American Sunrise. Take your take me out.
B

And today we're discussing President Trump, who is making headlines after a fiery post on Truth Social. We've been talking about it all morning. In the message, President Trump invoking God while also warning Iran that time is running out to make a deal or reopen the Strait of Hormuz. He goes on to say that there are just hours before, quote, all hell will rain down. The post comes as tensions continue to rise in that region. Let's bring in Dr. Gina and David to discuss more. David, one of the things in that post that struck me is, is he said all praise be to Allah. I suspect he said that in jest, but it was part of the post.
C
Yeah, it was obviously sarcastic. He was mocking them. That's what he was doing, in other words, because right before that he said, they're going to hell. Praise be to Allah, basically. So basically it reminds me of kind of like in the Bible where it talks about BAAL versus God. Right. Let's see what your God can do versus my God. Because your God's not gonna save you because you're gonna be in hell. It was weird, though. I mean, it was provocative, for sure. It's typical Trump in terms of just being different. I'll be honest with you, I don't think I liked it. Not because it mocked them, for sure, but more like, I don't know, just felt, praise be to Allah. I mean, I get what he was doing, but I don't know, whatever. It was sarcastic.
A
That was a good question.
C
It just felt weird. It felt weird.
A
I was pretty tuned out yesterday, really trying to do Easter for my family, who always decide last minute, don't do this to your mothers. Decide last minute to bring a bunch of people that I didn't know were coming. Yeah. And hadn't planned for them. So it turns out to be like, wow, I had this all planned for weeks. And then. Yeah, anyway, it all worked out. God always works it out. You know, he doesn't want you to be Martha. So anyway. But because of that, I didn't have a lot of time to stay super tuned in. Did he send out a specific Easter message as well?
C
Yes.
A
Okay.
B
Did he? Okay, I didn't catch that one. I was caught up on the other stuff, so I didn't catch that one.
A
I'm not sure. I hope that he did and that will make me feel better. That was my first thought, is, I get what he's doing. I get that he's mocking Epic Trump just, you know, we were all just like, we couldn't believe it. And a lot of people at first, when I was sending it around to different people that I tend to send news to were saying they thought it was fake. People didn't think it was real. But if he did send out a specific Easter message, hopefully with the word Jesus in it somewhere, I would feel better.
C
He actually did an oval from the Oval Office. He sent out about a two minute video. I think it was the night before Easter, if I'm not mistaken, it was over the weekend where he talked about Jesus and he talked about. He quoted John 3:16, and he was basically giving the gospel presentation. So he did do that.
B
Good.
C
I don't know if it was on Easter, though. I don't know if it was on specifically on Easter. Though, I don't think so.
B
Here's the thing. The posts were definitely provocative. I think you used a great word. They were provocative. And they had most of us kind of thinking and wondering. You know, reaction may have been varied, but they were provocative and they caught our attention. And we're still talking about it today, that's for sure.
A
That's Trump.
B
There you go. That's Trump. There you go. Well, look, guys, coming up, faith, family, hope and forgiveness, it's all there in country music. Dr. Gina, this is just for you. From old hymns to today's biggest hits, why these songs still strike a chord across America. We'll break it all down for you next.
I
In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.
A
All right. Welcome back to American Sunrise. It is time now for our moment of faith. It is brought to us by Lee Greenwood and the God Bless the USA Bible in focus. Today, country music always rooted in faith, with religion shaping its stories, values and sound. From old hymns to today's hit songs, artists continue to sing about God, hope, forgiveness and family. These themes resonate with listeners and help explain country music's enduring hold on American culture. Let's now bring in country music singer Buddy Brown. Buddy is also the author of the upcoming book Ain't no WI Fi in the Woods. In the Real Woods. Anyway. Ray. Right, Buddy. I love it. Tell us the impetus for the book.
D
I just, I got two boys, and they're now 15 and 16. And as they were growing up, I'm like, man, I was going back to 1950s and 70s and 80s a lot to find books for their childhood that I just thought weren't woke or won't, just didn't look really modern, and it just didn't give me the chills when I read it. And that's what I remember. So much about books when I was a kid is just exploring and finding God in the wilderness and, you know, whittling a stick and carrying my BB gun with my dogs, and you just don't see that anymore. And I said, we got to change that asap.
A
I love it. I love it. And I love the idea of boys in the woods rather than boys on computers with their faces and screens. I'm so tired of it. And we're learning that the decline in mental health, the decline in physical health, all the rest of it, not even to mention spiritual health, which I think is what you're alluding to. Those problems are real. And yet you go to any, you know, Applebee's any night of the week and you see Babies with little screens they can barely move right yet, but they know how to hold a screen in front of their little faces instead of interacting with their families this time in the wilderness. I mean, we're joking about it, and you wrote a fun book about it, but it's not a joke.
D
It's not a joke. And that's what you actually said, too, about going out to eat. We've made our boys order their own food since they were like three and a half or four. I mean, to the best of their ability when they were really, really young, just for the sake of. I want you to make eye contact with an adult, because if you can learn those skills now, if you can learn how to be comfortable being bored, and if you can learn how to be comfortable outside by yourself fishing or whatever you're doing, you're going to be such a standout compared to the rest of this generation who only knows how to operate with their thumbs, that you're going to rule the world. So that's been the message that we've given to our. Our kids, and we've really passed that on through this book.
A
Let's talk a little bit about manhood, because I just so admire the way God somehow miraculously turned these little boys of mine into men. And they really are men. Hearing my son yesterday describe how he wants to treat his wife, I was just. I was. I was literally tearful, and I have been ever since then because it was so beautiful. But manhood is kind of lost on our culture, and we have to reclaim it
D
without a doubt. And that's why I always try to instill with my boys, too. Watch how I treat your mama, because I know every single second of the day they're watching how I treat her. And that's going to carry through with their girlfriends and then one day, wives. And they've got to. They've got to be that strong force that their wife's going to be able to count on one day. Like I said, if we're raising boys with this kind of mindset, they're going to be standouts. And it should be something that all of us as parents really should strive for. And just to know that it is possible, there's. There's people like us doing it. You're not crazy. You're not alone. It should be encouraging because there's so many people who want to get it right. And if I had daughters, I'm going to tell you right now, I would be praying for boys just like the ones I'm trying to raise. They're not perfect at all, but they get a lot more right than they get wrong.
A
That's right. That's right. Well, one thing we have to do before you do go out into the woods with your children, you have to download Buddy Brown's music. Because if you don't, once you're out there and there's no WI fi, then you can't get it. So you got to download it before you go. Buddy Brown, appreciate you. God bless you and your family. Thank you for this book and thanks for being with us today.
D
You as well. God bless y', all, too.
A
God bless you. All right, back with the second hour of American Sunrise. Two minutes.
B
Coming up on this. Coming up on this second hour of American Sunrise, President Trump renews his threat against Iran, warning the Islamist for the regime to make a deal and reopen the Strait of Hormuz by tomorrow. Plus, just into our newsroom, Iran just responded to a ceasefire proposal. You'll have to stick around to find out what the regime is saying. New reports suggest more shakeups in the president's cabinet could be on the way. We'll talk about who could be next on 47's chopping block after Pam Bondi was relieved of duty just last week. And later, Secretary of State Marco Rubio looking more and more likely to be a top contender for the White House in 2028. We'll talk about why the betting markets are bullish on the Florida Republic. That's later this hour. Those stories and so much more coming your way right now on this second hour of American Sunrise.
C
Good morning America.
A
Welcome to America. American sunrise.
A
And I'm Dr. Gina.
C
Welcome back, everybody, to the second hour of American Sunrise. I'm David Brody coming to you from D.C. let's bring in Dr. G and Wes Palm and T. Bates in our Denver newsroom. Morning, guys. I know we're going to talk a lot about Iran, but just a quick break from that at the White house this morning, 10am The Easter egg Roll. Can I, can I just, can I just say, can I cathartically say, I
A
know exactly what you're going to say?
C
What a freaking nightmare. I mean, no, thank you. I don't want any part of that. I took our kids there A while. Two and a half hours in line. I'm good. Sorry to be bah humbug on Easter Gina.
A
Oh, that's not what I thought you were gonna say. I thought you were gonna say, thank God it's not Joe Biden with a bunny leading him around because he can't find his way out into the yard and back. That's what I thought you were gonna say.
C
Doesn't matter. Biden, Trump. I mean, if Chick Fil A were running the Easter Egg Roll, fine, because they get things done other than absolutely not. Absolutely not.
A
I have to tell you, the very
B
first time, I knew that's where you were gonna go.
A
Go ahead, Terrence.
B
No, I was just saying I knew that's where he was gonna go about the Easter Egg roll. Your turn, Dr. G. You got it.
A
The very first time I met President Trump, he came to me, and I couldn't figure out who he was talking to. And I kept trying to move to the side, and the Secret Service said, will you please stand still? The President's trying to get to you. He was president. This is back in 2016, and I had still never met him after doing TV for him for more than a year. And anyway, he came up to me and he said, I just want to thank you. Is there something I can do to thank you for the TV that you've done for me, for defending me when other people wouldn't? And I said. And I couldn't think of anything. You know, you're put on the spot. First of all, I didn't think he was going to talk to me. And secondly, I didn't think he knew who I was. And thirdly, it's like the fairy godmother came to us. Gosh, what can I do for you? And I said, can my son go to the Easter Egg Roll? That was what I asked for, because I just thought that looked like the most fun thing for a little kid to get to do. So my youngest beau got to go to the Easter Egg Roll that year, and he thought it was pretty epic.
C
It's great for the kids. It stinks for the parents.
A
Yeah.
B
Okay, so David apparently has PTSD when it comes to the White House Easter Egg Roll. So I'll go on and move on to. I'll go on and move on to our headlines. David, and let you take a quick break. This works, David. Just. Just grab on the earlobes. Look, President Trump is going to participate in the White House briefing this afternoon as well. Apart from the Easter Egg Roll, David, while the war in Iran and the rescue of an F15 fighter jet crew that was shot down over Iran will likely be issues that he'll address. During that White House press briefing, the commander in chief could also faced some questions about his proposed 2027 budget. The spending plan includes a request for about $152 million to reopen the infamous Alcatraz prison just outside of San Francisco. Alcatraz closed more than 60 years ago and has since been a tourist destination. President Trump also talking tough on and appears ready to blow up Iran's power plants and bridges as soon as tomorrow. Taken to Truth Social on Easter Sunday, the commander in chief writing and this is a quote, Tuesday will be power. Well, Tuesday will be power plant day and bridge day all wrapped up in one in Iran. Open up the effing straight and you crazy. You crazy. There's a word that starts with a B and ends with S. Well, not the other one that you're probably thinking of or you'll be living in hell. Just watch, he writes. He followed that message up by saying Tuesday, 8pm Eastern time, which suggests that's the deadline for Iran to take action. And finally, President Trump jumping head first into the California gubernatorial race. While you were sleeping, the commander in chief was wide awake and endorsing former British government aide Steve Hilton to be California's next governor in his endorsement pitch on Truth Social 47 Write people are fleeing, crime is increasing and taxes are the highest of any state in the country, maybe the world. Steve can turn it around before it's too late. And as president I will help him do so. That's a quick check of your headlines. Now let's get a quick check of your forecast. Weather Nation meteorologist Tracey Anthony standing by with your hometown forecast. Hey Tracy.
H
Hey, good morning. We're starting off with One of the OGs, Flacciosaurus in Jacksonville because this area is just going to get socked in with rain. We are talking the east coast of Florida could have over 5 inches. Some areas can't rule out double digit rainfall totals between now and midweek. We do clear out though for the weekend so that's some good news. But like to fly on getter as well was talking about the air show in Lakeland. Now I believe that's next week so it looks like it's going to be rainy this week and then we'll start to clear out. So fingers crossed for that air show. Like to fly that we will be on the clear side at least weather wise. Now we're going up to the Great Lakes this Coming in from Rumble. Texas Echo 262. Snow still expected throughout the day Today we get a push of cooler air, but look at this. Temperatures are going to warm up pretty nicely over the next couple of days. And we're getting to that last round of snow here for the season. So a few more pushes and then. Hey, Terrence. I think a lot of these people across the Great Lakes are going to be thankful that that snow is wrapping up.
B
Yeah, I think anybody that's had a pretty rough winter is going to be thankful that any sort of snow will be wrapping up. Tracy, good to see you. Appreciate it. We'll talk to you tomorrow.
H
Yep. See you tomorrow.
B
All right, let's switch things over to David Brody now. David, good morning, sir. I hope you're over your Easter egg. Ptsd. Easter Egg Roll, ptsd. And you're back on track now.
C
I am back on track. I'm mentally cute and sharp. Thank you, T. Bates. I appreciate it. Let's talk about not necessarily the Easter Egg Roll, but let's talk about what's going down at the White House as well today. I heard something about a 1:00pm press conference. Yeah. Here we go. Let's join Brian Glenn, our White House correspondent, our chief White House correspondent, who's there on the North Lawn this morning. Brian, good morning. I tell you what, President Trump doesn't issue idle threats, so Iran better watch out. But I tell you what, that Easter social media post was quite a humdinger, if you will.
G
Yeah, you can call it a humdinger. Happy Easter to everyone. I didn't see you. Happy Easter to you. I think all of us got up and when we saw that post on Truth Social, I had to make sure it wasn't fake. I had to actually ensure that it was an accurate actual posts on True Social, as we all did. I think it was a wake up call to the Iranian government. Obviously that he means business is not necessarily the messaging I would have sent on Easter. But nevertheless, that is what President Trump did. And of course, he put that timeline being tomorrow night at 8 o'. Clock. So we'll keep a sharp eye on what transpires in Iran today and tomorrow going up into that 8pm now, as far as what takes place here today at 1:00 clock in the briefing room, President Trump with military officials will address the press. Now, this was backed by popular demand. The media loves it when President Trump steps in that briefing room. This gives an opportunity for all the media up and down, not only here on pebble beach, but also all the other Independent media, the foreign press will have an opportunity to ask President Trump questions about what the rescue mission and obviously the deadline of tomorrow night at 8 o'.
B
Clock.
A
Brian. We're hearing reports of more cabinet changes on the way following Pam Bondi's firing last week. According to reports, Trump has expressed frustration with several top officials, including Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Labor Secretary Lori Chavez Derrimer and. But we're also hearing no final decisions have been made. What are you hearing with your ear to the ground there?
G
Yeah, last week President Trump dismissed a lot of those rumors that it was quite just rumors, false reports. Howard Lucknick is one of President Trump's best friend, he's close associate, he's a very trusted individual that, that I do not see ever happening. Go down to Tulsi Gabbard. There was rumors last week of that President Trump being very forward in the White House administration, saying those are simply just rumors spread by the media. And as far as the labor secretary is concerned, I think that's the first time I even heard that individual brought up here in months. So if there's anything with the labor reports that had come out, the jobs reports, I don't see that being an issue as well. But hey, we didn't think that Pam Bondi out of nowhere would have gotten fired last week.
A
Yeah, I was going to say.
G
But as of right now. Yeah, yeah. Confirmed reports that happening.
A
Yeah, he kind of did the same thing with Pam. He was like, you know, I mean, when the rumors started about her, when they were really coming to a crescendo, he was still. And every time he had her in a meeting singing her praises about how great she was. So I kept thinking, well, those must just be rumors.
G
Yeah, well, that's an excellent point, but I just can't find any fault at any one of those positions right now that would, that would warrant.
A
I mean, let Nick and the economy.
G
Well, I mean, Howard Lucknick is what he's done with, with as far as bringing business back in this country and with, you know, look, the sudden dip in the economy is because of direct response to the war. There's no doubt about that. With oil fuel prices going up. So, and that is a temporary disruption with. President Trump has said many times that he thought he looked at the market. He realized the stock market was at a level the, that he was comfortable with pausing that and going into this conflict with Iran knowing that it's going to dip down a little bit. So I don't think you can put any blame on Lutnick for that. And as far as the labor secretary position goes, I mean, we looked at the job reports, we look at some of the unemployment rates have come out. I don't think he's very upset about that. But once again, Dr. Gina, you bring up a great point. Maybe all of that doesn't matter at the end of the day. It's whatever he, he feels at the right time for the right person. So. But I don't see any more cabinet shakeups, especially right now during this escalation.
C
Brian Glenn, great to have you as always, my friend. And it's gonna be a wild day at the White House, 1:00pm Eastern. Thank you, sir.
G
By the way, by the way, the Easter Egg roll starts at 10am we'll have some coverage for you there as well. Longtime tradition here at the White House. Dr. Gina, as you know.
C
Yes, sounds good. I'll make sure I never attend.
A
Enjoy the hate for the Easter Egg Roll. I don't get it.
B
No.
C
But I'm a big fan of Jesus. I'm a big fan of Jesus.
G
There you go.
C
Oh, there we go.
A
Okay. Thanks, Brian.
C
Before we go to break, let me take a sedative and then change gears and talk Medicare because a lot of folks aren't getting the full story. Now, most Medicare agents push Medicare Advantage plans even when they're not right for you. So you have to ask the question, why is that? Well, that's. Because that's where the money is for them. But seniors are paying the price. See, there's the deal. And that's what makes chapter different. They're going to walk you through original Medicare, Medigap, Medicare Advantage and Part D with the pros and the cons all laid out so you can make the right call for your health needs. As a matter of fact, Donna, I don't know if it's Donna Fiducia. I'm not sure. I can't confirm or deny. But Donna said her chapter advisor walked her through every option and explained everything in a way she could actually understand. Plus, they saved her thousands of dollars. So if you're on Medicare or will be soon.
A
Hello.
C
Call 814 chapter to learn about enrollment options and find ways to save. It is free. It's quick. They can review your options in under 20 minutes. Most people wish they had called sooner. All right, coming up after the break, the Trump administration says it has saved taxpayers more than 1 billion. That's with a B. Billion dollars after cleaning up student loan fraud. Details when we come. Welcome back, everybody, to American Sunrise. All right, we're going to drain the swamp. Now, this morning we're flushing out all of that student loan fraud. So the Trump administration is touting a major win for taxpayers. They've announced that they've saved more than a dollar billion dollars through a crackdown on fraud and federal student aid programs. According to the Department of Education, the savings come after new safeguards were put in place, including strict identity verification requirements for first time applicants. It's a move officials say has helped shut down sophisticated fraud rings targeting financial aid. So let's bring back in Dr. G and T. Bates. Gene, I'll go to you first on this. That's great. A billion dollars, I mean, federal aid is like tens of billions of dollars. This is a big deal. And to me, my understanding is that this is a lot on the honor system, like fafsa, just kind of like they ask you to say, you know, what's your income, what do you make and everything. But they don't really do much verification here. So I think that's a big problem here too.
A
But is anyone going to jail for this? I mean, I mean, honestly, I mean, there's a lot of fraud here I'd like to read about. I'd like to see headlines about people actually being punished for fraud on a federal application. Essentially, isn't that punishable? I'm really confused as to why no one ever seems to go to jail unless it's the Democrats putting Republicans in jail.
C
Good point.
B
Interesting point for sure. When it comes to fafsa, though, there is to some degree and obviously a lot more could be done. But there are some checks and balances in that. Whatever you file with the irs, that tends to be kind of the main check and balance, if you will. That's what is assessed in terms of eligibility. And I only know this because I'm going through it right now trying to pay for, trying to pay for college and figure out what our eligibility is. But it is difficult. And I think the bigger picture is there does need to be more oversight even with the IRS in terms, and I probably shouldn't say that, but it's true. There needs to be more oversight, even more with the IRS when it comes to Dave is like when it comes to what people are claiming and all of that, there needs to be consistency across the board. And I'm not so sure there is consistency across the board.
C
No, I agree. And Gina, I think you make a good point because I'm reading the intro and we're talking about the victory being that they saved a billion dollars for taxpayers okay, great. Secondary issue to a degree, to the fact that maybe they should put some people in jail and hold them responsible and accountable and then you really take care of the larger issue, which is kind of like a death penalty situation. Maybe they won't do it again if you will. I'm not saying people should get the death penalty for fraud, by the way. No, I just want to be clear.
A
Probably not the death penalty, but, you know, but yeah, fraud is fraud. And I mean, I don't know, if you're fraudulent in your home loan application, you certainly will be punished for it criminally. So I don't understand why if you're fraudulent in a student loan application, it wouldn't follow. I just don't understand.
C
I don't know.
B
It should. I think you make great. It should.
A
We're not hearing anything about that.

No, you make a great point, Gina. Terence and I were marginal, but you made a great point. So thank you.
B
There you go.

All right, coming up, most Americans are feeling the impact of the Iran war at the pump. But our next guest is gonna say something about the farmers because they're facing even greater challenges with fuel shortages and it impacts all of us. After the break, we'll talk about it.

Welcome back. It is back to work on Wall street after the markets were closed for Good Friday. We'll take you to the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange here in just a few minutes. Here's a quick look at the futures. As you can see, generally pretty good. Right now. The Dow is the only negative spot and then crude oil at the bottom is also down. The rest of the markets, markets are in the green at the moment. All of that could change, of course, at the drop of the dime. But we'll take it to New York again for the opening bell here in just a few minutes. First, let's get you over to my good friend David Brody. David, good morning.
C
Good morning, T. Bates. All right, so we all know about the impact the war in Iran is having on our wallets there at the gas pump. But another real impact economically is happening to American farmers. So as the conflict disrupts global energy and shipping, it also is driving up the cost of fertilizer, also diesel and other critical farming inputs, putting farmers under intense pressure right in the middle of planting season. Experts warn the Strait of Hormuz disruptions are choking off key supplies needed for agriculture, and that is forcing farmers to use less fertilizer, switch crops, or scale back production altogether. Joining us now to make sense of it all is Stormwall Advisors founder Michael Wilkerson. Michael, good morning to you. Take us through this. I mean, this is, this is serious stuff here. Good morning.
I
Good morning, David, and happy Easter. It's not too late to say that. I think what all Americans have already experienced is the impact of the pump. As you mentioned, we've seen fuel prices, gas prices, up by over a dollar. Diesel's up by about A$33, roughly a third from where it was before. That really directly impacts farmers who rely on diesel both for production and for transportation. What's not being talked about as much, though, is that we rely very heavily on natural gas for fertilizer. Natural gas becomes ammonia, ammonia becomes urea. Urea is spread on fields around the world. And the U.S. department of Energy has confirmed, agriculture has confirmed that about 25% of US farmers have not pre ordered or pre purchased the fertilizer that's required. Their prices that they're going to experience this year are up by about 70% fuel. We see right away food inflation is going to come. It's going to come in the next six to 12 months as the cost of production begins to work through, work through the year. So America is probably much better off than the rest of the world. We see that a lot of parts of Asia, including our allies in South Korea and Japan, are almost completely dependent on the Gulf for their natural gas and therefore their fertilizer or their, their imports. The US has its own domestic supply, much better able to protect itself, provide for itself. Nonetheless, these are global markets. US Farmers will be hit, and ultimately the US Consumer will be impacted.
G
As well.
C
So, Michael, you're saying that impact we could see literally at the grocery store in six to 12 months or possibly sooner. And if so, what, what products are we talking about typically will be affected?
I
It affects everything, David. I mean, it is impacting farmers today. So one analogy I saw coming out of the government's report was that if a year ago it would have taken, say, 75 bushels of corn in order to fertilize the field or buy the fertilizer, it's now going to cost them 126 bushels of corn. So in other words, their costs are up some 65, 70%. Those prices are being pushed through slowly, not as quickly as you see at the gas pump. But yes, they're going to start showing up on shelves, on grocery shelves in the next couple of months and really moving into next year as the main planting season gets underway this spring. We'll see it in grains and derivative products and certainly in proteins, animal and otherwise. You know, David, we've seen over the last five years unbelievable inflation in meat prices, beef, eggs, of course, famously known those prices haven't gone down upwards of, say, 70%. Inflation in things like steak, that's not going to reverse. And it's actually going to continue over the next year, which is a real challenge for American families trying to feed their kids and provide a decent meal at home.
B
Yeah.
C
Michael, we have about 30 seconds left. I want to talk broader for a second. What do you tell us, folks, clients that are sent with the war in Iran? I mean, basically, you know, from an investment strategy standpoint and also from a mortgage, interest rates and other interest rates. I mean, just kind of like the markets are volatile right now.
I
Markets are very volatile. It's a difficult time. I think where we're positioned is to be very, to be long. Commodities, oil, gold and other things. Anything that's involved in the production of, from petrochemicals, this whole complex, whether we gasoline, fuel, any kind of energy product, this is going to be very important to watch and we're seeing it some issues in the banks, some issues in the credit markets as well. So I think it's a time to be very conservative, to have as much of your investment as you can in cash and position defensively in commodities and otherwise, and to be aware of this inflationary impact. Store up for the next six to 12 months in terms of your pantry, keeping your food items available and at hand.
C
Yeah. Michael Wilkerson, Stormworld Advisors, Always great to see you. Thank you, sir. Thank you, David. All right. T. Bates Opening bell time.

We're less than a minute away from the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. You're about to hear the applause and then we'll settle in for the opening bell to get this day of trading underway or this week of trading underway, particularly since Good Friday, there was no trading as the markets were closed that day. You hear the applause, which means the opening bell is set to ring here in just a moment.
C
Moment.
B
And then we'll get an idea of how the markets are ultimately looking. There you have it. Right on cue. The opening bell is ringing. The first trades being entered on this first day of trading of the week. And here's how the markets are looking. The Dow is in the red at the moment. The S&P 500 and the NASDAQ in the green. And really the rest of our board, including crude oil, are all up or at least in the green at the moment. That's a sign of things potentially to come later on today. We'll of course be monitoring, monitoring all of this for you throughout the day. When the dollar's convertibility into gold ended in 1971, gold was fixed at about $35 an ounce. Fast forward to today and the US dollar has lost over 85% of its purchasing power. Gold, on the other hand, has increased in value by over 12,000%. That's why Central banks are buying gold at record levels. That's also why major firms like Vanguard and BlackRock hold significant positions in gold. And it's why here at RAV, we encourage you to consider diversifying your savings with physical gold from the Birch Gold Group. It starts with education, though. Still to come here on American Sunrise, the betting markets are looking even better for Secretary of State Marco Rubio as a potential GOP nominee for 2028. We'll break down the number and discuss after the break.

Welcome back to American sunrise. I'm Dr. G. We are glad you joined us this morning. We invite you to hop in our conversation on YouTube. Get around Rumble. It is time now to take the political pulse of America. Here's the beat today. Secretary of State Marco Rubio gaining momentum in the betting markets as a potential top contender for 2028. Rubio now sits among the top contenders, trailing Vice President J.D. vance, while conservative commentator Tucker Carlson has surged past Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in some projections. This shift comes as Rubio's profile has grown on the world stage, particularly during the Iran conflict, helping boost his standing within the party. Meanwhile, DeSantis, once seen as a contender, appears to be losing ground in the early field as the post Trump future of the GOP begins to take shape. Let's discuss more with David Brody and Terrence Bates. Terrence, what are your thoughts?
B
It's interesting to watch. I'm not a huge fan of betting on stuff like this. Just not my thing. But it's interesting to talk about, admittedly. And I think Marco Rubio is, well, we know he is gaining some steam. But as I've said all along, a lot can happen between now and 2028. And so it's interesting to talk about. It's fun to kind of postulate, but I'm not going to start taking any of these odds seriously until we get closer to 2028 and until we see that, in fact, Marco Rubio in fact makes a decision on whether he, in fact, is going to run for president. President to challenge J.D. vance or not. My suspicion is that he probably will, particularly if the numbers are still looking good. But again, I'll reserve judgment for a little while. David?
C
No, Marco Rubio is a really interesting case Study, if you will. Right. I mean, he came on board in 2010. I remember covering him in the Tea Party era. Right. And he was the Tea Party darling, one of them. Then he kind of went into that traditional Republican establishment situation there for a while, and here he is kind of morphing both MAGA and traditional Republicanism. I mean, it's a master class if you think about it. He's been able to somehow split the difference between staying true to his core, which is, let's be honest, he's more of a traditional Republican, but at the same time he has kind of also a DNA of Tea Party. He was, remember, he was original Tea Party guy and a bit of maga. I'm not saying he's fully MAGA at all, but what I am saying is, is that he has kind of a combo of both. And I think from a general election standpoint, and definitely from a GOP primary standpoint, that's gonna be good. Because if we're taking it beyond MAGA and we're bringing in traditional Republicans that are establishment Republicans, they're gonna love Rubio. So this is the problem for JD Vance. Cuz JD Vance is not establishing Republicans do not like JD Vance. So he's not gonna get much of that vote. But Rubio will. And I tell you, then you throw in the Hispanic vote that Republicans are already making gains on based on President Trump, I think he'll be formidable, especially in a general election.
B
So do you think it's a foregone conclusion that he in fact does run? Sorry, Dr. Dean, I'm curious for both of you. Do you think it's a foregone conclusion that he challenges J.D. vance? No.
C
No, no. Do I think he's gonna run?
G
Yes.
C
Do I think Trump's gonna endorse him? Yes. Do I think it's a foregone conclusion? No.
A
You mean a foregone conclusion. You don't think it's a foregone conclusion that he wins, you're saying?
C
I think that it's not a foregone conclusion if he runs. But if he runs, I think he'll win.
A
What about the whole America first contingent that is going to split off and go with someone completely different? What about them? Makes for some really interesting politics.
C
No? For sure. But then the question is, and you and I and I might disagree on this, Gina, but what percentage of MAGA is America First? Because America first and MAGA are not the same. They're just not.
A
I'd say 30% if I were guessing.
C
Oh, see, I see. Oh, CC, I think it's much less. I think it's way less, under 10%. I'm talking about America only. I'm talking about the. I know you don't like the word isolationist, but I'm talking about the America only crowd. The ones that right now we're on X and other places saying.
A
And I'm not talking about.
C
They're with the liberals on Iran.
A
I'm talking about people that are disgruntled, generally speaking, don't want to have a candidate prescribed to them. I hear from these people all the time. And I don't know, maybe it's just where I live, I don't know, but I hear from these people all the time. They don't want a candidate prescribed for them. They want their own candidate. And they want somebody that is going to truly put America first. Now, now, it's so funny because these people all still love Trump. But the Trump endorsement we saw. We've seen is. It's evolving. Let's just say the Trump endorsement we saw in Florida here, the Trump endorsed candidate, who I was 1000% behind, actually worked for this man did not win. And so you look at it like that and you think, wow, something is, something is awry in this movement. Something is changing, shifting. And I'm just curious what candidate could be a real consensus candidate? Because I don't think we have one.
B
Dr. Gina. Okay, you don't have one. Cuz I was gonna ask if there are any names that have been raised in your circles as to who this third candidate or who an outsider candidate is.
A
Well, these aren't my circles. I actually think, and I can't believe I'm using these words, cuz I really hated Rubio after I felt like he betrayed Trump, but I feel like he's earned it. I feel like he's really earned it. That's just how I feel about Rubio right now. That's not to say I'll still feel that way, but I'm just talking about, I survey people incessantly and I'm just not hearing the enthusiasm that I heard. Certainly not close to Trump when it was 26.
C
You know what, can I pull an audible here, guys? Ryan, everybody, can we just go to our guests? Let's just go to Angie Wall.
A
Yeah, let's see what she's with us. It's a great idea.
C
Yeah, why not bring Angie in? I mean, it's a carnival here. What the heck? Hey, good morning, everyone. Angie, how are you? Good to see you. What do you make of this? I mean, you're a Florida gal, if you will. What do you make of Rubio and what we're talking about here? By the. You are the Miami GOP committee woman. We should introduce you appropriately. Good morning. What do you think?
H
Good morning.
J
And happy belated Easter. Yes. Well, Marco Rubio is a Miami boy born and raised, so we love him down here. I'll tell you something. Of all the cabinet members, of everyone in the Trump administration. Administration. Rubio is bringing the receipts. He is showing that he is working hard. What is he up to? Like five jobs, 12 jobs?
C
And he's the Easter Bunny, too.
A
The memes are so good.
C
Yeah, I know.
J
The memes are the best. Look, Rubio has a really clean brand. He's got a happy brand within the Republican base right now.
A
Right.
J
Nothing that is being thrown at him really sticks. He just sticks to his job. He doesn't chase the fanfare. He doesn't chase the press. He's just getting it done and he's delivering. So if he can continue on that track, it's a very, very good shot that he's got to run for 2028. Now, it's going to be after the midterms before we kick off 2028. So I guess November 6th is when we have to get going on the next presidential election.
B
Right.
J
I think Rubio has a really good chance, but it comes down to whether or not he can fundraise. And right now, J.D. vance is doing everything he can to secure a treasure chest for him to run things. Of course, as Terrence says is going to. We're a very, very long way from 28, but he's certainly one of the top contenders. And after cpac, he came in number two, Right. In the straw polls. Right. So I think he's got a great shot. The branding is there, the international experience is there. If Cuba goes his way, he's going to be all over the place. So my bet is on Rubio
B
again. I'll ask you a similar question. What I asked David and Dr. Gina. Do you think it's a foregone conclusion that he in fact run while he's looking good right now, he's gaining steam and momentum. Will he in fact, challenge the expectation that J.D. vance will be in the race and Will he challenge J.D. vance? Will he join J.D. vance and wait his turn? What is your feeling? What's the calculus there in Miami? In Miami. Benvenido a Miami.
J
I think the calculus is President Trump is whether or not President Trump wants him to be the next in line. Come Florida. As far as the Florida delegation goes, he's got a very good chance because he's worked with all of them. He's known them for decades. Right. So he has them lined up. He is liked by the different fractures of the Republican Party, at least here in Florida. I'm not sure about other states. If I see Marco Rubio in New Hampshire anytime soon, you know, he's running, but right now he's not making those moves.
A
Are the Rubio numbers, Angie, the reason why DeSantis has so faded into the background in terms of a presidential run?
J
Well, you know, DeSantis has some interesting moves at the moment.
A
Right.
J
And this bleeds onto some of the other topics as into like, who's gonna be our next AG. We've been seeing DeSantis coming in and out of certain Trump talks. He's been playing very, very nice with the Trump team lately, signing the Save America act here in Florida and doing other things that are really helping out with the Trump administration. He is certainly on the short list for being ag, and he's again doing the dance. So there could be moves there. The other thing that's really interesting is that perhaps one of our Supreme Court justices may be retiring soon. There's rumors of that as well. So there's a lot of new openings, a lot of personnel reshuffling amongst the Trump administration. So again, too early to tell. But if DeSantis gets something, then he's going to stay in that role for a while and maybe 2028 might be 2032.
C
Yeah. By the way, you made a really astute observation. Well, you're always making astute observations. But one thing I picked up on specifically is that you said, well, basically I'm summarizing here, but President Trump will kind of have that say about whether or not Rubio runs. Because don't you feel like basically the conversation's gonna go like this? This Trump's gonna bring in Rubio and say, marco, you gotta do it, you gotta do this, you gotta run. And then I feel like it's an Apprentice episode where it's like JD Vance and Marco Rubio. And Trump sits back and has some popcorn and watches.
J
Look, Trump wants a winner. He wants to ensure that his legacy and his agenda and policies are gonna continue into the following presidential term. Right. Cuz not everything can be done in four years. He's gonna need some longevity here for all of it to really run like machine. Marco Rubio is already planting the seeds. We see it clearly at some point. Trump's not going to have that conversation just with Rubio, but with J.D. vance to say, look, where are your numbers?
A
Right.
J
And I need to see them as well. We're seeing that he does have JD Vance still does have the momentum. Let's not kick him out just yet. But the real receipts are being delivered by Marco Rubio and I think that has to count. JD VAN maybe, you know, with some of this California fraud stuff, maybe, you know, he's going to gain some grounds, but he's waiting after the midterms to really show off what he can do.
C
I just want to say one last thing. That Monroe Doctrine, it does jive with Trump and Rubio big time. They're together on that. JD Vance not so much, I don't think. And last thing, I just think that you just got to be careful about how it all plays out. I'm not quite sure JD Vance is going to go anywhere right. Quite yet. So we'll see.
A
He's also young. He's got a long time to run for president and to prove himself more to the American people. Angie Wong, thank you so much for being with us.
B
Thank you, everyone.
A
All right, coming up, a major media outlet caught in a basic mistake. The New York Times mocked online after a NATO blunder goes viral. That story next. Go ahead and do your best.
C
Do your best.
F
Let's spill some tea.

And that would be the New York Times, which is facing backlash online after a high profile mistake in a headline sparked widespread mockery on social media. The paper published an article on President Trump and NATO, but misidentified the alliance as the North American Treaty Organization instead of the proper name, which is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The error quickly went viral with even President Trump responding, writing, quote, the failing New York Times whose lack of credibility and their constant fake News attacks on your favorite president, me, has caused its circulation to absolutely plummet. Refer to our severely weakened and extremely unreliable partner, NATO, as the North American Treaty Organization. The correct name is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A very interesting mistake, he writes. All right, let's bring in Dr. Gina and David to discuss. David, huge deal. A copy editor somewhere is probably on Mass Avenue right now, running around trying to figure out where he's supposed to go next. Can't believe that that sort of mistake creeps into a copy.
C
I mean, I don't know. I have a different view on it. It's like, okay, yeah, they made a mistake, then they made a mistake. I mean, you know, join the crowd. First of all, the New York Times made plenty of mistakes, so this is just one of many. But we all make mistakes. I mean, you know, so, I mean, was it a mistake or was it intentional? I don't think it was intentional, clearly. So it was a mistake. I'm not quite sure what the big deal about all this is. To me, what's a bigger deal is the New York Times bearing the Holocaust in 1942 and putting it on page 12 when millions of Jews were slaughtered. So, to me, you know, it's things like that that grab my attention, not this. Gina.
A
Yeah, I thought President Trump's response was amusing. And it occurs to me that that's the kind of communication with his own individual voter that does make him feel like such a personal president, you know, your favorite president, me. I mean, that's just hilarious. Like, nobody says that stuff, just him. And it just amuses me. But I agree, David, this is something that, you know, AI could have misfilled for them. You know, what is it where it completes your words for you. That happens to me all the time. And it's not something that your spell check is going to catch, and it's not something, even as you're proofreading something that you're going to catch because it looks right, right? We've seen the word North America forever, so it's. Your brain's gonna gloss right over it. And I don't know, I think the New York Times has done much more egregious things than this, but I do think it's funny. President Trump's response.
B
I get both of your points, and I hear you, but for a major newspaper like this, which, agreed, it has made many mistakes before, this is, to some, it's kind of unconscionable. There are so many layers at any newspaper, and having worked in newspapers for many years, even before I got into broadcasting. There's so many checks and balances that typically are in place that would catch something like this. It does speak to credibility, and it hurts their credibility. For some people, obviously, they don't have any more, but it definitely hurts their credibility. Someone should have caught this well before it got there.
A
That's fair.
C
I mean, that's fine. I mean, that's fair. I guess I'm making the point, and I think Gene is, too, which is a lot more egregious things than that. I mean, I get if we're gonna talk about it being a credibility issue. Well, the credibility. New York Times.
A
New York Times doesn't have any more cred. Oxymoron.
C
That's not an issue to me.
B
That's fair. That's fair. Hey, guys, look. Coming up, President Trump has officially made his pick for who he wants to see as the next governor of California. We'll tell you exactly who that person is. And about this latest endorsement. That's next.
C
All the bitter things that you do
A
are gonna come back on you. Welcome back to American sunrise. I'm Dr. Gina. We're glad you're with us. Just want to mention quickly, guys, I don't know if you saw this. Steve Bannon wins Supreme Court order likely to lead to the dismissal of contempt of Congress conviction. So for all you War Room fans out there. Cool.
B
Yeah, I suspect he'll be talking a bit more about that on War Room coming up. This information again just coming out. Dr. Gina. So we're trying to parse through all of this, but it looks like it's a good Monday morning for Steve Bannon, at least at this moment.
A
He tends to not discuss his own stuff like that, so I don't know that he will, but it certainly will be news to the rest of the world.
B
Yes, absolutely. Well, look, that's one of the stories I'm keeping my eye on. Another story is out of California. I'm watching the gubernatorial race there in California. President Trump is finally out with an endorsement. 47 officially endorsing commentator Steve Hilton to replace the term limited governor Gavin Newsom. He calls Hilton the right leader to help turn the Golden State around. Steve Hilton, of course, was just on the show with us just a few days ago. The endorsement could shake up the race, giving Hilton a major boost with conservative voters as Republicans look to make inroads in a state that hasn't. In a state that Republicans haven't won at the gubernatorial level in nearly two decades. For the first time in a very long time, though, it Looks like California could get a Republican governor. The two. So basically, I guess we kind of have to step back. This is a primary. It's a general primary, which is. Which means both Democrats and Republicans are in the primary. The top two vote getters ultimately move on to the general election. And right now, two Republicans, including Steve Hilton, excuse me, are the top two vote getters, or at least polling as the highest vote getters. So it looks like there's a good chance California could have a Republican governor, especially now that President Trump has weighed in.
C
David, not a good time to. For him to endorse Steve Hilton because remember, Steve Hilton is leading. Chad Bianco, the other Republican is in the two spot. Now that you've endorsed Hilton, a lot of folks won't go for Bianco. They'll go for Hilton. That could put a Democrat in the number two spot in the primary and that those two would then be in the fall. So I would have waited until afterwards, but we'll see. We'll see how it goes. Good for Hilton.
A
All right. All right, you guys. The victorious Steve Bannon is up next with War Room. Hug your children, love God, go boldly live the truth. We'll see you tomorrow.
