Attorney General Pam Bondi announcing for arrest in connection to a potential New Year's Eve bomb plot in Southern California. Should we expect more of this before the new year comes to us? Well, we have coverage throughout the show, plus potential ISIS links. One of the alleged gunmen in the Bondi beach terror attack in Australia reportedly investigated in 2019 for potential ties to the terror group. But authorities, of course, want to blame guns. We will take a closer look. And later. She just won't leave. Kamala Harris may be gearing up for yet another presidential run. Will she ever just ride off into the sunset? I am now burdened by what may be. We have those stories and more as American Sunrise starts on a Tuesday right now. Good morning America. Welcome to AMERICAN sunrise. Whether it's culture, we have breaking news to share with you. Politics. President Trump is joining us live now from Florida. We've got you covered. This is what it looks like to be a patriot. We have to protect the American family. The American dream is still alive. I'm David Brody. I'm terrence. And I'm Dr. Gina. Good morning, everyone. I'm Terrence Bates. We appreciate you being here with us on this Tuesday morning. I'm coming to you live from our Denver newsroom. Let's bring in Emily Finn. She's in for Dr. Gina. This morning in West Palm Beach, David Brody in for David Brody. He is in our Washington, D.C. bureau. Good morning to both of you. What a start to this week. Can I just get right to it? Because President Trump truly is the news gift that just keeps on giving. Every day there is something new, of course, his comments about Rob Reiner, those are being discussed. But the Guardian also out with this headline talking about his lawsuit against the BBC, saying the BBC vows to defend $10 billion lawsuit from Donald Trump. The president, of course, claiming defamation over how the BBC edited a Trump J6 speech. The has since apologized and some top executives have resigned from the BBC. But the president is still moving forward with his lawsuit and justifiably so, David. Yeah, I mean, look, Donald Trump went right from the womb into the courtroom. I mean, he's been in the courtroom ever since he was born. No doubt about that. But he is the ultimate financial watchdog. I mean, Emily, you gotta love this guy because he keeps them accountable. And you know how you keep big media accountable. That's right. Dinero. That's the way it works. That is the way it works. And he has been very successful in his lawsuits against other media giants. So it's going to be interesting to see how all of this plays out. You know, I'm hopeful that all of these lawsuits will ultimately have media organizations kind of reassessing how we all do our jobs and that we really get back to good journalism, good fundamental, balanced and fair journalism. David. Yeah, for sure. You know, one of the keys in this lawsuit will be can the president's lawyers prove intent? You're going to have to prove intent. That's going to be a bit difficult. Look, we've all been there in the editing room. This is what BBC did, right? I mean, they spliced together two things to make it look like. Not that we did that. I'm just saying that we've been in edit rooms where you take one part of a clip and then splice it to another part of the clip. But the key there is you got to make sure that that all is the actual underlying point of what the person was trying to say. In this case, it was. But can you prove intent on that? That's the key. Well, Donald. David, Donald Trump Jr. Intends to get married. Breitbart is out with this headline which says that the president's son has announced his engagement to Bettina Anderson. You see the headline there? The couple has been together since last year. By the way, another couple that's getting married soon, Raz very own Brian Glenn. He announced his engagement to Marjorie Taylor Greene last night. In fact, I texted him after I saw the news and said congratulation. So congratulations to both couples who are now preparing for nuptials. I don't know if I've ever used nuptials on television before, so there you have it right there, Emily. What a fun time of year for these major announcements. I think this is what they call cuffing season. Terrence. Everyone's getting engaged. Everyone's getting married. No. I am so happy for Brian and Marjorie. I seriously have never seen two people that are like that perfect for each other. I mean, this is incredible. So good for Brian. I'm so excited that they're getting married. A match made in Maga. Seriously, though, Seriously. Mazel tov. And mega heaven. Cuffing season. That's hilarious. I haven't used that term since my single days. And we'll just leave it there. All right, let's get to our Bible first, if you don't mind, Emily. Sounds great, Terrence. All right, this one comes from Isaiah, chapter 60, verse 2. It says, for behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people. But the Lord will arise over you, and his glory will be seen upon you. All right, moving on to our top story this morning. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that four people were arrested in connection to a bomb plot in Southern California planned for New Year's Eve. Bondi posted on X. The Turtle Island Liberation Front, a far left, pro Palestine, anti government and anti capitalist group, was preparing to conduct a series of bombings against multiple targets in California beginning on New Year's Eve. The group also planned to target ICE agents and vehicles. This was an incredible effort by our U.S. attorney's offices and the FBI to ensure Americans can live in peace. We will continue to pursue these terror groups and bring them to justice. Let's now bring in Missouri Congressman Mark Alford. Congressman, thank you so much for being with us this morning. What was your first reaction when you heard this news? Well, Emily, David, and Terence, thanks for having me on. Look, I think the Justice Department, FBI DOJ is just scratching the surface of what's to come. These terrorist cells living in the United States welcomed in by Joe Biden. The testimony before Homeland Security two weeks ago was that some 18,000 terrorists have been let in. There's about 2 million who. We don't know where they are, who they are. Are they terrorists? So we've got some big problems in the U. S. This, I think, is a religious war. The jihadis, the. The Islamic terrorist. Fundamentalist extremists want to annihilate Jews and Christians. They want to have Sharia law around the world. And this is just a manifestation of that. I think you've seen that with other shootings, the one in Australia and other places. The terror that is going on right now will continue unless we do something about it. 100%. That is the main threat, for sure. All right, so you're in D.C. this week. Health care? I don't know. What do you want to say about healthcare? All I can tell you. My goodness, these moderates, what are they gonna do? Are they gonna sign this discharge petition? I'm sorry, I'm getting ahead of myself. I'm going wonky. I'm going inside baseball. Are they gonna get with Hakeem Jeffries and do this? Because they want to extend Obamacare subsidies, and Mike Johnson's not going to let him have that vote. So what's the deal? Well, look, David, this is kind of a complicated, wonky issue for a lot of people. The bottom line is Obamacare is broken. It was never designed to work from the beginning. These subsidies, which only affect a very small portion of our country, have been put in place where the money's directly channeled to the insurance companies. It's not working. The system is broken. We have a plan in place. We are voting on a package this week which will reduce cost increase transparency, especially for pharmacy benefit managers, PBMs, which have been very controversial. It's also going to give different fields in small businesses a chance to group together, to have group insurance, say, like Realtors. My wife's a Realtor. It's going to be great that she's going to have the opportunity to group in with other Realtors to buy insurance. It's going to bring down the cost for by about 11% nationwide if we increase these subsidies or go. If we extend these subsidies that were due to expire at the end of the year because of the Democrats, it would only affect about, I don't know, 4% of the population and bring down prices very little for them. We are going to bring down prices by 11% under this package. Congressman, there are so many bigger fish to fry. But unfortunately, I'd be remiss if I didn't ask you about President Trump's comments about Rob Reiner. I'm sure you've seen them by now. Obviously, there's been lots of talks on what the President had to say. Well, look, I don't like name calling. I think Rob Reiner was pretty good actor. I remember watching him on all in the Family Meathead. And then, of course, his directing capabilities were very good. I know that he did not like President Trump. He did have Trump derangement syndrome. But I think now's the time, especially after being murdered by his own son. Apparently in the beginning days of Hanukkah. We need to let him rest in peace. Absolutely. Do you think the president should apologize for that message he put out? Look, it's not my job to tell the President United States to apologize. I wouldn't have said it, but I'm not the President of the United States. And I've told people for some time now, I can't control anyone but Mark Alford and my wife and I try to do a very good job of keeping my head in check and my mouth in check as well. It doesn't always work, by the way, but I try. Well, Congressman, I do want to get your take on this before we let you go. It's A headline from just the news. Colmer threatens Clintons with contempt if they don't show for depositions in January. It was initially scheduled for tomorrow and Thursday. The Clintons claim that they don't have to show up. Your thoughts on all of this, Congressman? Well, it's going to be interesting if they don't show up. They need to show up and give some answers to the American people. This charade has gone on long enough. The Clinton Foundation, Russiagate, her destroying with bleach bed and other hammers and things, evidence that that probably would have led to an indictment for anyone else except for James Comey to basically cover that up and say that she would never be able to be convicted in criminal court. This has gone on long enough. They we the American people deserve answers on the Clinton corruption in America. The past DOJ and FBI have persecuted President Trump over things that didn't reach 1/10 the culpability, I think, of the Clintons. And so we just need some answers. And we'll leave that up to the oversight chairman, Jim Comer to see what happens. If, if warrants need to be issued, so be it. All right, Congressman, just really quickly, I almost know the answer, but I'm going to ask anyway. If they don't show up, if James Comer refers this and there's a full House vote, I suspect you would be a yes vote for holding them in contempt of Congress. Yes, yes, we do need to hold them in contempt. We've held others in contempt and nothing has really happened to that. Merrick Garland, earlier in our tenure here, he was held in contempt and nothing really happened. We do a lot of things here in Congress where there's really not a lot of teeth because we don't enforce the law. We need to enforce the law and have people tell the truth to the American people. Yep. Congressman Alford, thank you so much for your time this morning. Always love having you on the show. Thank you so much. Always good to see you, Congressman. All right. Merry Christmas, by the way. I won't see you for a while. Merry Christmas. We're saying Merry Christmas again. All right. Yeah. All right. Coming up, we check out the hottest headlines from the RAV newsroom with T. Bates. And later, the Hanukkah massacre at Bondi beach and isis. One of the alleged gunmen was reportedly investigated for ties to the Islamic terror group years ago. How was that ignored? We examine that just ahead on American Sunri. Season two of unrivaled basketball is here and the talent is unreal. One of the stories we're monitoring this morning, President Trump suing the BBC for 10 billion. That's billion with a B dollars in damages for defamation as well as deceptive and unfair trade practices. The 33 page lawsuit accuses the British Broadcasting Company of quote, false, defamatory, deceptive, disparaging, inflammatory and malicious depictions of President Trump. The president also calls the network's coverage of the events of January 6th a brazen attempt to interfere in and influence this past presidential election. This latest legal action points to a whistleblower's report pointing out how the BBC spliced together separate parts of President Trump's January 6, 2021 speech in order to intentionally misrepresent what President Trump said that day. While the broadcaster apologized to President Trump last month, it also denied that he tried to defame or that the company also denied that it tried to defame him. Excuse me. Now to new information on the the deadly attack at Sydney, Australia's Bondi Beach. Investigators are now confirming that the shooters were motivated by Islamic State ideology. Mourners continue to lay flowers at a growing memorial for the 15 victims who were killed in the attack which targeted Australia's Jewish community, a father son duo is responsible. Police have now determined that the duo traveled to the Philippines shortly before the attack. That's significant because the Philippines is known for Islamist insurgency. The attack is Australia's worst mass shooting in decades. The latest recipient class of the Mexican Border Defense Medal was honored at the White House on Monday. The medal was created for troops deployed to the US Mexico border, but it hasn't been given out in a century. The current iteration replaces the Armed Forces Service medal. This year, 13 recipients were honored for their work securing the U S. Mexico border. So 25,000Americans qualify for this Mexican National Defense Border medal that we're announcing today. And what's cool about this medal, it was actually first given out in 1918, so we're reviving an old medal that existed was given to men and women who defended the southern border. We found out about it. We used the exact same foundry with the exact same imagery, same color, same metal, same everything. So our men and women will be wearing that very same medal as Americans 100 years before who were asked to defend the sovereignty of our country. By the way, during that same ceremony, President Trump signed an executive order declaring fentanyl a weapon of mass destruction. The administration says a majority of the deadly fentanyl on the nation's streets enters the country from across the south border. That's a quick check of your forecast. Well, of course. Excuse me. That's a quick check of your weather. We're going to get a quick check of your forecast now with Weather Nation meteorologist Adrian Hernandez. By the way, there at the bottom of your screen, you see that QR code that you can scan and join our friends over at Weather Nation. Adrian, good morning to you, my friend. I'm looking at your board there and I have no idea what all those colors mean. Well, Terrence, blue is cold or green is a little bit warmer. But I actually got some good news for you, Terry. I know how much you hate the cold. We actually got a warming trend in the forecast for a lot of the US Going into today. The Northwest is not excluded. It is going to be warmer, but it will be incredibly active. Probably the most active spot of the country going into today with loads of rain and widespread snow. And then in the middle of the week, we're going to have a system ripping through this area. All this green that you're seeing is all rainfall potential going into the latter half of this work week, which we're likely to see a whole lot of it going into this work week. So over the last three hours, a lot of the rain and all the activity is staying out west out in the Pacific Northwest. Everywhere else is staying mostly quiet. Not really looking at much besides some mixed precipitation out towards Minneapolis. A little bit of a wintry mix with temperatures again staying in the 20s. Look at Denver, though, about 40 degrees. It'll get a little bit warmer, Terran, so you don't have to worry about it for too much. Maybe something to look forward to. Adrian, if I was close to you, I would hug you. Don't take it personally, but I'm that happy about your forecast for the Denver area. Much appreciated, my friend. We'll talk to you in the next hour, by the way. Okay? All right. Sounds good. All right. By the way, folks, in our next hour, you can get your hometown forecast. Log onto our various social media platforms. Get a rumble, YouTube, let us know where you're hanging out and you may be the next recipient of one of our hometown forecasts. Stick around for that. Up next, though, keeping Americans safe. The FBI arrested four people in connection to a bomb plot that was planned for Southern California on New Year's Eve. We'll have expert analysis on that. First, though, a quick look at this day in history. It was on this date in 1773 that the Boston Tea Party, one of the most defining moments in American history, occurred. Patriots stood up to a king and his own overreaching government, dumping British tea into the Boston harbor to protest unfair taxation and tyranny. Taxation without representation, you probably remember that term. It was a bold message proclaiming Americans would not be controlled by distant elites who ignored the voice of the people. The act of defiance sparked a movement that led directly to American independence. Today, many conservatives see the same spirit, demanding accountability, limited government and freedom from bureaucratic control. The Boston Tea Party reminds us that America was born from courage, resistance, and the unbreakable will of a free people. We're back in a moment. All right, look, as we have been covering, the FBI said has a arrested four alleged members of a pro Palestinian terror group. By the way, I know you're going to hear extremist group. It's a terror group and they're in Los Angeles accused of plotting, coordinating this New Year's Eve bombing. Actually multiple bombings. Officials say the suspects were part of the Turtle Island Liberation Front. They were taken into custody in Lucerne Valley. That's in the Mojave Desert where they allegedly prepared the explosive devices. Each faces federal charges including conspiracy and possession of destructive devices. They also say a fifth suspect was arrested in New Orleans in a related case. All right, let's bring in the director for Jihad Watch now. That would be Robert Spencer. Robert, thanks for being here. I'm curious to get your thoughts. Once again, radical Islamic terrorism rearing its ugly head. And you are an expert on the subject, sir? Well, what's noteworthy about the Turtle Island Liberation Front is that it was apparently for non Muslim leftists who are nonetheless ready to commit violence for the cause of the Palestinian jihad. This is not altogether surprising because of course, the leftist Islamic alliance is well established. They both hate America, they both want to bring down America for different in pursuit of different goals. But nonetheless they both want to destroy the existing system. If you go to the website of Students for Justice in Palestine, which is a group that has menaced Jewish students on campuses all over the country since October 7, 2023, you will see that they talk about occupied Turtle Island, Turtle island being supposedly some Native American name for North America in the past. And so when they talk about occupied Turtle island, they're saying that essentially everybody who lives here now is an illegal occupier like the Israelis in Israel. And they are making common cause to destroy both the Americans and Jews in particular because of the Israel connection. Wow. There is no place for that in America. Robert, I do want to get your take on what happened in Australia as well. Officials say the alleged suspects were inspired by isis. They also say they found ISIS flags. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese confirms one of the alleged suspects was investigated back in 2019 for possible ties. Officials say warning signs were known years ago, but the attack still happened. Critics say this raises serious questions about government failures and national security. At least 16 people, including one of the suspected gunmen, were killed. Dozens were injured. Robert, Australia is blaming guns, but aren't these bigger failures? How was this ignored that he had ties to isis? Well, it's ignored that he had ties to ISIS because of the deeply embedded dogma that the Australian government insists on holding, like all the other governments in Europe and North America, that Islam is a religion of peace that is fundamentally benign and there's no real threat. So even when you have a threat, it's Islamophobic to pursue it too far. If this guy was on the radar for ISIS in 2019, he should never have slipped off. That either shows that they don't care because they don't want to be racist and Islamophobic, or they got so many people like this that they can't keep track of all of them. Neither choice is good. But that's the situation not only in Australia, but in many countries in Western Europe. And it's going to be the situation in the United States if we don't awaken to the nature and magnitude of this threat. What kind of response and how swift of a response are you expecting relative to the attacks on those two American service members and the translator there in Syria? Fox News, in fact, has this headline saying that the army has identified the two Iowa National Guard soldiers who were killed there. Sergeant Edgar Brian Torres Tovar and Sergeant William Nathaniel Howard. Those were the service members who were killed. What do you think? How severe will the response be from the Trump administration? And are you expecting that to happen within hours, or might it take a little while before the administration gets its plan together and does some sort of response? Terrence I'll tell you, the Trump administration is in a very difficult position right now because of this, because Trump invited Ahmed Ashura, the president of Syria, to the White House, sat with him in the Oval Office, praised him, showed no indication of caring that he had been a leader of Al Qaeda, that he had been working together with isis, that he shows no real signs other than wearing a suit now of having changed. And the government forces are the people who did this. These servicemen were killed by members of Hayat Tahir Asham, which is the group that Ashara led and that is now in charge of Syria. And so Trump has got to go back and this is we know, we, you know, there's many Admirable things about the president, but being able to admit that he's wrong is not one of them. But that's what he's going to have to do if he wants to deal with this situation adequately. This is a product of the fact that he is not paying sufficient attention to the real jihadist character of the Syrian regime. And that needs to be done. Now, also, you got to ask the larger question, for what purpose do we have troops in Syria at this point anyway? What are they trying to do? If we're not trying to topple the jihadist regime that's in charge, and obviously we're not, because he just was in the Oval Office, then what on earth are they doing there there? And we should get to your out of harm's way before more of them get killed. Robert, I apologize for interrupting you, but to your point, you use the word adequate response. What do you see as an adequate response in this case? Well, I think certainly all support for the current Syrian regime needs to be ended. And it needs to be made very clear that a jihadist has to demonstrate by his deeds if he's going to change. We're not saying human nature can't change and so on and so on. The man might have reformed, but we have seen persecution of the Alawites, of the Christians and of the Druze by members of the Syrian regime since the new regime took over. And so this regime should not be erased. I mean, should not be embraced. The Trump administration should be saying, you got to protect the religious minorities. I'm Emily Finn. Thank you so much for joining us this morning. Time now for today's health news sponsored by the wellness company under the Microscope. Today they're back. Mask mandates in certain settings. Health officials in places like Santa Cruz county and multiple Bay Area counties in California, including Alameda, Santa Clara and San Mateo, are considering masks in hospitals in response to increased cases of respiratory viruses like COVID 19 flu and RSV strain. Hospital systems in Ocean and Monmouth counties, New Jersey and parts of New York are also reviving mask rules. The general rule of thumb know before you go for expert analysis, let's bring in the director of epigenetics for The Wellness Company, Dr. Ben Tapper. Thank you so much for being with us this morning. Your take on these mask mandates, is this even effective? Hmm. Did it help last time? No. This is so silly to me that we are implementing these back into the, into the field of the health care system. I mean, you know, the data is very clear. There were studies that were published in the American Physicians for the association for Physicians and Surgeons, and they talked about how the mask were absolutely ineffective at stopping the spread of this disease. So it's silly to me that we even implement these masks. I mean, maybe it makes people feel better, but really, to me, it's a false sense of security. Yeah, for sure. Well, medical experts are warning about a deadly quademic this winter. Can you tell us a little bit about the viruses that make up the quademic? I mean, people are putting on masks. They don't even know too much about what's going on here. So what can you tell us? Well, I mean, I think if, let's be real, I think the quadmic, the word in itself is a whole lot scarier than really these diseases. But, you know, it's made up of the flu, the COVID RSV and norovirus. And really these are diseases. Every year, every, every year, people get sick. Nothing new is under the sun. So again, we just really, the real question is we just need to be prepared. And so taking care of the body is essential and giving the body what it needs and we don't need to fe these diseases. Yeah. The CDC has reported that between 1.9 million and 3.3 million Americans have had the flu since October 1st, 19,000 to 38,000 have been hospitalized. The search has led to a reinstatement of mask mandates as we were reporting across several states. For everyone entering a hospital. These, as we discussed, probably won't be too effective at stopping the spread of all or four of these viruses. What do you think would actually help to be able to keep yourself safe and not get sick? Yeah, well, first of all, we need to give the body what it needs. We need at least 30 minutes of summer sunlight and just getting good rest. Avoid the sugars, manage stress levels. Those are all essential things. Getting good rest. We need to eat well, move well, think well, we can be well. But also in the case that we do get sick, the wellness company has a phenomenal emergency kit that I highly recommend, you know, and supplement with vitamin D. This time of year is also very, very essential. We need that 30 minutes of summer sunlight, but really it always stems from toxicity and deficiency. And we need at least 40ius per pound of, you know, for, for vitamin D per pound, we need 40ius per pound. So getting that vitamin D in the system is very important this time of year. So there's some complicating factors for the flu in particular, it's a new flu strain that's making the so called flu vaccine even less effective than usual. Can you tell us a little bit about this new flu strain? Yeah, basically, you know, flu variants every year that it, you know, it mutates. It's a variable disease. Something that we look at with flu though in the flu vaccine. You know, it's so backwards to me to treat the flu by a flu vaccine. It doesn't make any sense. If you look at the, the stats of the flu vaccine and effectiveness, it's, it's, it's, to my opinion, it's worthless every year. It does not really prevent the FL. Fluid. You know, I can't tell you how many people get sick from the flu shot in itself. But again, the flu variant, it's, it varies every year. There's nothing to fear here. But really just the key is being proactive and being preventative with our health and not neglecting our health here, but really just understanding flu season is a, is a high stress season. It is a, the, the winter months. We're not getting that summer sunlight again. So the body is deficient. So we just need to take care of the body and not fear these flu variants that come our way every year. Yeah, being proactive is certainly the key, and it's not just flu cases that are on the rise. The CDC is also reporting rising cases of COVID as well. Can we expect to see Covid numbers continue to rise over the winter and RSV cases as well? I think you're going to see them every year rise this time of year. I mean, like I said, we're heading into the winter months, so you're going to see a rise in these diseases. But the key here is not panic. The key is being prepared. That's the ultimate key here. You know, I was taught that fear is the fire that fuels the furnace of disease. So not giving into these fear, you know, these fear diseases, but really just understanding the key here is being prepared, not panicked. And we do that by taking care of the body. And you know, Ben Franklin said, at best, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Get yourself a med kit from the wellness company and taking care of the body and you'll be just fine. Yeah, we know that the vaccines are ineffective, so there's definitely other steps that you can take to be proactive. What medicines do you recommend that people keep on hand in the events that they end up with COVID the flu, rsv, something like that? Well, God forbid you do get sick. I mean, the Wallace company has the best of the best kits on the market. They have emergency kits, they have a contagion kit, all these different things, you know, in, in the case you do get sick. So having these at home, you can bypass pharmacy, you, you can bypass the md. You go right, this ships right to your doorstep. You can have it to give you that pe. This is something I highly recommend. Now I'm a big preventative guy as well, so, you know, giving the body good supplements. The Wallace company has some of the best of the best supplements on the market. You know, they have the vitamin D, they have the spike support, all these different supplements. These are the top shelf, best supplements you can buy on the market. Highly recommend getting that and having it in your home. All right, Dr. Tapper, thank you so much for your time. Yeah, thank you. Now, a new administration in Washington D.C. has brought a lot of positive changes when it comes to fixing our broken health care system. Welcome back to American Sunrise. Oh, sorry about that Terrace. All right, Emily, I'M sorry. Didn't mean to do that. It's all good. I'll. I'll take over from here. Emily, thank you so much. We want to welcome you back to American Sunrise. Everyone. Hey, everyone. It's time to stay awake. Not woken. Today, we're discussing Kamala Harris preparing for what appears to be a second act this week in Washington, D.C. during a closed door DNC winter meeting that was filled with party insiders, donors and consultants, Kamala Harris husband was introduced as a potential future first gentleman. Hmm. Kamala then took the stage herself, claiming that she's now an outsider and ready to break the status quo. Breaking the status quo, though, hmm. It's a little questionable given that she spent four years as vice president. She was handed the nomination to run for president and then of course, lost to Donald Trump. To many, that's not considered an outsider. The Democrats apparently don't need a mirror. They just need to get real. So let's bring in Emily and David, talk a bit more about this one. Emily, she's an outsider and potentially running for president again. What say you? I say that she is blissfully unaware of how embarrassing the past few years have been for her in politics. I mean, she is the definition of an insider. It's just. It's really crazy that I don't think that this is going to resonate at all with people. She's literally still lying, David. Yeah, she joins the Blessings from Heaven group. She joins Jasmine Crockett in there because we conservatives are very happy that all these folks might potentially be running. We know Jasmine Crockett is running. We can only hope Kamala Harris runs. If she does, what will be great is that we will see Gavin Newsom and Kamala Harris be on a debate stage together. And that will be fun to watch. So they can all just kind of eat their own, if you will. But the fact that, listen, it doesn't surprise me that she wants to run again because think about this. What was it? 70 million plus people voted for Kamala Harris. I know, I know. Smelling salt's needed. I got it. But here's the thing. The point here is that there's a built in cake, if you will, politically in this country right now. In other words, whoever's on the Democrat side. Oh, check. I'm going back to work. Check whatever it is, what it is. So you're gonna get 70. I mean, Kamala Harris got 70 million plus votes in the last election. David, can I just ask. She was Kamala Harris. Can I just ask you, David, does your Venn diagram have Kamala Harris winning a Democrat primary. I don't see it. No. But I'd love to get. Do you? Yeah. Okay. Thank you. She didn't win primary. I just don't see a win when she ran and I definitely don't see her winning a second one. No, go ahead. Well, that's a good. Emily, that's a good point. Because the only reason she was even the nominees. Because there was no. There was no primary. Exactly. They crowned her with that nomination. That's right. That's right. So who do you think. And I get. It's still a ways away. Who do you think ultimately would be the Democrat nominee? Well, I gotta. Is it Emily? I wanna hear you lose at this point, I don't know if Nicki Minaj has anything to do with it. She's going to embarrass Gavin Newsom to the point where he's not even gonna run anymore. I really. Gavin Newsom, I think probably could do it. Terrance, he's got the look, he. He's definitely got the way of talking to people in a way that it kind of works. He's coming to the other side. I had Charlie Kirk on or was on Charlie Kirk's podcast. I really do think that Gavin Newsom has a shot at this. David, what do you think? Sadly, I agree. I think a lot of folks are going to say no. There's just no way that Gavin Newsom can win, even though the conventional wisdom is that he's the front runner. Which is exactly the reason why a lot of people are saying there's no way he's going to win because he's just, you know, snake oil salesman. There's just, you know, eventually he'll be found out and he takes every position under the sun, which is all true, but ultimately I think the bet, the smart betting money right now would be on Gavin Newsom and his hairspray, which will be his running mate. And I don't think there's any question about that. So they come together. They are a package deal. Gavin Newsom and the Hairspray. But personally, I would love to see. And he's not going to run. I don't think he's going to run. But I would love to see, just for kicks, if nothing else, Stephen A. Smith. I would love to see him run, but he's not gonna do it. I don't think he's gonna do it. Why are you getting out? Why? Where are you going? See ya. Has he been once again a rapture live on the show. What's happening? Uh, oh, we lost Terrence. Well, T. Bates, he's back. He's back. Why are you doing that? I can't even face you, David. I'm sorry. I can't even face you with that. Really. I'm giving you. I'm not giving you shade. I'm giving you my. Well, he does not have Terrence's endorsement. I think that's fair to say. Could you care to expand on that for. For 24 seconds? As I look at our clock, Stephen A. I don't see it. First of all, I don't see him running. I agree with you. I don't think he would run. I don't think he's even a viable. I don't think he's even a viable candidate. You have mentioned before, David and I would like to see that this Shapiro out of Pennsylvania, the governor there for kicks and giggles. And I know typically we use a different term. I wouldn't mind seeing him run. I think that at least it would bring a more viable candidate to the table. I think he would bring some issues to the table in an actual debate and a platform to the table. And I would like to see this. We can't expound. I know how you feel about the possibility of him winning, but in just to make it a more competitive race and to give us some real meat, I think he would probably be the best Democrat candidate. If you ever mentioned Stephen A. Smith again as a potential candidate. Why? What's the problem? I'll meet you at the monkey box. He's common sense. He's common sense. You think he's coming? We'll agree to disagree. Exactly. We gotta go. All right. Before we do take a break though, do want to inform you about a new song from the J6 choir which is called Anthem of the Free. Time now for our moment of faith. It's brought to us by Lee Greenwood and the God Bless the USA Bible. Just like every single day, it is in focus today. Faith that demands courage. In For Christ and Country, author Drew Thomas Allen calls Charlie Kirk's life and death a warning and a witness. This is a book about a culture that calls evil justice, a culture that hates faith, and a culture that punishes those who dare speak the truth and those who stand firm. Despite that, Charlie Kirk's story does remind us all that the battle for America's soul is spiritual and silence not an option. Joining us now is the author of that book, For Christ and Country, and that would be Drew Thomas Allen. Drew, thanks for being here. Glad you wrote this book. Needed now more than ever. Tell us more about it. Good morning. Hey, good morning, David. Yeah, I mean, the genesis, I think, was the just gut wrenching feeling that I had after he died. And I'd never felt like that way in the aftermath of anyone's death. And I've told people, look, I. I was Charlie's publicist last summer for a second last book, but I did not know Charlie. You know, I never talked to Charlie. I never met Charlie. So I'm. I was just like millions of people trying to comprehend why this cut me so deeply. And one, it hit too close to home. I've got two daughters, they're roughly Charlie's kids age. And I was actually picking up my daughter from school with my wife on the day that he was assassinated. And I got the information that he had been shot right when my wife was bringing our daughter to the car. And she was screaming so happily to see me because I don't usually pick her up. Dada. Dada's in car. And that moment killed me because I had my daughter, my family there. And that was stolen from Charlie. His daughter would never, never experienced that again. And then I wanted to know why this happened. Right. I mean, how can this happen in this country? How is this cultural decay so horrific? People are celebrating after his death, and so it transformed me. Actually. Something in me died when Charlie died. This kind of fear, this hesitation to really profess my Christian faith proudly and boldly as well. And so that was the genesis. Wow. We got about less than a minute left. But, you know, you talk about silence not being an option, and I do feel that one of the reasons that hit us, deeply spiritual is that he was a voice out there and, you know, he was being bold. And that is something that I think we were all feeling like we kind of lost that voice, if you will. But we have it inside ourselves to speak up and pass the man on and do what we need to do. Yeah. I firmly believe Charlie Kirk was a martyr for his faith for this country. And you could see in the aftermath the influence that he had. He was big. He's bigger after death than he was in life, and he was pretty big during life. And so the silver lining in this tragedy is that he's inspired millions of people, I hope, like me, to search deeply and to have that same hunger he had for deepening his faith in scripture, putting Christ first, and letting politics flow from that. Because if we're going to save the country, it's going to be from a spiritual revival, not from politics. That is for sure. Once again, the book right up there on the screen for Christ and Country by Drew Thomas Allen. Drew, thanks for being here. Good luck with the book, and I hope lots of folks read it. Thank you. God bless you. All right, back with the second hour of American Sunrise in two minutes. Stick around. Season two of unrivaled basketball is here and the talent is unreal. Anyway, guys, lots of news making headlines today. House Oversight Committee James Comer, committee chairman, excuse me, James Comer is threatening to hold former President Bill Clinton, Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in contempt of Congress if they don't show up for their depositions in the Jeffrey Epstein case next month. The couple was initially supposed to appear both tomorrow and on Thursday, but their lawyer sent the House Oversight Committee a letter last week outlining why the Clintons should not be required to appear. Stay tuned as we'll continue to cover this ongoing saga. Bad boy former first son Hunter Biden continues his professional spiral. The 55 year old was just disbarred in Connecticut on Monday amid complaints about his convictions on gun and tax charges. Despite being pardoned by his father, President Joe Biden, Hunter admitted to attorney misconduct as part of an agreement with the state's lawyer discipline office. However, he did not admit to criminal wrongdoing. And President Trump is suing the BBC for 10 billion with the B dollars in damages for defamation as well as deceptive and unfair trade practices. The 33 page lawsuit accuses the British Broadcasting Company of, quote, false, defamatory, deceptive, disparaging, inflammatory and malicious depictions of President Trump. The president also calls the network's coverage of the events of January 6th a brazen attempt to interfere in and influence this past presidential election. That's a quick check of your headlines. We'll, of course, have more headlines throughout the show. But now let's get a quick check of your forecast. Weather Nation meteorologist Adrian Hernandez joining us. By the way, we're going to put up a QR code here at the bottom of your screen momentarily that you can scan and join our friends over at WEATHER nation. Adrian, time for our hometown forecast. What do you have for us today? Well, actually, I got a few of them right now. One from Longmont, Colorado. This is from Joe Schmoe 2025 on YouTube. And look at this, Terrence. It's going to be a pretty similar forecast of what you should be expecting. No rain in the forecast, temperatures will slowly dip down on Thursday down to 49. Probably be Terence's least favorite day of the week. But then they spring right back up to the mid to upper 60s going into Friday. We also have a forecast from Topper s or toppers LVC. This is from Rumble and this is Dallas, Texas. Forecast. We're getting up into the high 60s, dipping down in the low 60s by Friday. But then look at the rainfall chances. Not really looking at anything. In the forecast, 77 for your high on Saturday and Sunday over the last three hours. The Northwest is really the only area that's staying active. Everywhere else is relatively quiet. A wintry mix over by the Twin Cities, but again, that's pretty much it. Everything else is staying remotely dry for the most part. Some of these temperatures dipping down into 19 degree out in the Windy City. But if you're further west, you're about 48 degrees out in Vegas and down in Miami, 72 degrees. The one outlier. I don't want to flex around anything, but that definitely is feeling quite nice right now. Over the last 24 hours, things really have started to warm up. Denver, you're about 2 degrees warmer than you were just 24 hours ago. But Terence, if you remember that forecast, you got some better days ahead. I wouldn't be surprised that if Thursday would be your least favorite day of the week, your highs are going to dip a little bit more. But you got a jacket. You're ready for it, right? Realistically, you're ready for it. Yeah, I'm ready for it. And on those days when I don't bring my jacket, I, I just go from car to house, house to car, car to work. You get it. Only the essentials. Out in the elements. Too much. There you go. Always good to see you, Adrian. Appreciate you, brother. Likewise. Thank you. All right, let's get you over to David now. David, good morning. T. Bates. All right. Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Cash Patel are set to hand over explosive memos to Congress. The memos show that under Joe Biden's watch, FBI officials warned the DOJ they did not have probable cause to raid President Trump's home, but prosecutors moved forward anyhow. Joining us now with a reaction to this big story is the editor in chief for Just the News, John Solomon. John, good morning. You are writing about it exclusively@justthenews.com Tell us more, sir. Yeah, well, listen, Jack Smith is slated to appear for a closed door deposition tomorrow. He's going to face a lot of tough questions. Questions if he shows up. And I think there's a big question about whether we'll show up. We'll find that out tomorrow. Because the prosecution he inherited in November 2022 previously had raided President Trump's home at Mar A Lago. And it turns out now the Washington field office had warned the Justice Department. They did not believe that they had met the standard for a search warrant, meaning they didn't have probable cause. They didn't have any witnesses, they didn't have any proof that Donald Trump. Trump was hiding classified documents there. And therefore, they believe that the raid shouldn't go forward. But the Biden doj, they did go forward. And then Jack Smith came in and he went forward with criminal charges, which ultimately got dismissed. But this is the latest example of weaponization and a dual system of justice. Remember how they dealt with Joe Biden's classified documents in a friendly manner? Hey, can we just come over and collect them from you? No subpoenas, no raids, no ruffling through, through the underwear drawers and lockers here. Donald Trump was treated differently. And now we find out when these documents are to be made public. I think in the next hour or two, we're told there may not have been a legal standard to do that raid that could give the President of the United States cause to sue the Justice Department for the violation of his Fourth Amendment rights. Wow, that would be interesting. Can we sue his own Justice Department? Right, right. And that's exactly what I was thinking. My mind was like, that would be interesting. Would he actually sue his own Justice? I mean, it's a possibility. Do you foresee that potentially happening? I'm not so sure that's ever happened. The sitting President suing his own Justice Department. Let's go there. I'm gonna follow you down that road, John. Oh, yeah. It's a rabbit hole worth jumping into. I do think there's a good, strong chance that the President will sue the Justice Department. Like he has sued other prosecutors. Prosecutors claiming that he was a victim of an unfair miscarriage of justice. And so, just like he sued the BBC yesterday and the New York Times before that and others before that, the President intends to litigate in the courts the damages that he believes were done to him and his political career and the people around him. The Jack Smith investigation, the Arctic Frost investigation, which goes towards January 6, and the classified documents case that goes towards the raid on Mar A Lago, both on the front burner. Now, in Congress, we have Senator Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson investigating both investigations and possible misconduct there. And Tomorrow it'll be Jim Jordan interrogating Jack Smith, turning the tables on Jack Smith. He's now the witness, not the prosecutor. Gosh, John. Investigations upon investigations. I do want to move on to the clinch as well. Want to get your take on all of this. House Oversight Chairman James Comer threatened the former first couple with charges yesterday if they don't show up for their depositions in the Jeffrey Epstein case in January. This comes from a letter sent to the Clinton's attorney. Do you think that they're going to comply with this? Well, they always say revenge is best served cold, maybe like with the cold contempt finding. And I think that James Comer could potentially seek contempt charges in January if the Clintons don't show up on the aforementioned dates, January 3rd, 13th and 14th. Comer is very clear. He was on our show the other day. He, he intends to do to the Clintons what was done to Bannon and Peter Navarro, which is hold them in contempt that they don't cooperate with Congress. And I think that also lingers over Jack Smith tomorrow. Now, I think Jack Smith probably will show up, but Republicans intend to enforce their subpoenas and take people to court and possibly to jail if they don't show up. Now, while that's going on, we continue to learn learn bombshell new evidence about the Clintons. In the last two days, we were given from Senator Chuck Grassy the entire FBI file on the Clinton foundation corruption scandal. What does it show? It shows that the FBI, going all the way back to 2010, early in the Obama administration, had evidence that foreigners were routing money to her foundation in return or seeking favors from her as Secretary of State. And then we also learned burned, while at the same time she was trying to hang a fake Russian shingle on Donald Trump's house. She had her own Russia scandal. That's right. The Justice Department believe that the transaction that moved Canadian in US Uranium to Russia, known as the Uranium One scandal story I broke a few decades, a decade ago, that there was merit for a possible criminal investigation, but the supervisors at the Justice Department and the FBI would not allow that in investigation to go forward. You see this dual system of justice. The Clintons are protected despite the belief of the FBI that there was real evidence. And then Donald Trump's home is raided when the FBI didn't believe there was any evidence at all to raid the helm. That's what has Americans so upset these days. Absolutely. It's the look the other way strategy. Nothing to see here. John Solomon, great to have you with us. Thanks for just continuing to not only come on our show but break news left and right. Right. Really appreciate it. Yeah, appreciate you guys have a good day. Thank you. Bye. Thanks Sean. Coming up, a race based housing plan in a Democrat led city coming under scrutiny as HUD at the federal level opening a new investigation. The full story after the break. Stay with us. Welcome back to American Sunrise. I'm Emily Finn. It's great to have you with us this morning. Time now to drain the swamp. And this morning we are fleshing out Democrat DEI policies. The Trump administration's Department of Housing and Urban Development has opened a formal investigation into Boston's race based housing strategy, claiming that it may violate federal anti discrimination laws. HUD alleges Boston used federal funds to prioritize home ownership and development opportunities based on risk, including a goal that at least 65% of home buying opportunities go to people of color. HUD Secretary Scott Turner says the program amounts to social engineering driven by DEI ideology, not merit or need for more. Let's bring in David Brody and Terrence Bates. Terrence, I am a far way away from ever owning a home or having anything to do with home ownership. So your thoughts on this, you're probably closer than you think. It's just a little bit of savings and some time and you can get there. But I will say this. For many cities, and it's not just Boston, for many cities in this country, the focus is and probably should be affordable housing, because that's a major issue right now, is that there are people who just can't afford to live. They're literally working in order to pay rent. Forget the idea of homeownership. They're literally working and working and working just to be able to afford rent every day. That's a critical issue that's happening around the country. And so that's one thing that needs to be addressed. And then I think the focus needs to be just in general. And again, this is not based on race or based on socioeconomics. I think this would be healthy for all Americans. Teaching Americans how to go about the process of becoming a homeowner, how to save money, how to budget in order to find a home that you can afford and at least begin the process of home ownership. It is a challenge in the current economy, but it is doable. But there are so many things, David, that need to come together in order to make that reality for Americans. Yeah, I mean, look, this is a philosophical debate as old as time, right? I mean, social engineering, or is it fair and equitable housing? I mean, the liberals will call it, this is all about making sure things are fair and equitable, and the conservatives will say, no, what you're doing is social engineering. What I think the constant in all of this, at least the last 10 years, ever since President Trump glided down the escalator, in the golden escalator, if you will, it's like Willy Wonka, the Golden escalator. He indeed has brought all of this to the forefront. I mean, he's talking about things that a lot of folks just kind of didn't want to kind of go there, or if they did, it was in white papers and PDF documents. And there was this, like, Intellectual Heritage foundation argument that's still all out there. But Trump is pushing the envelope. Hence the fact that HUD is going after Boston and the mayor there, a very liberal mayor, saying that she's conducting social engineering. So. So, you know, here's the kudos part. Kudos to pushing the envelope and having the discussion out in public. That's what Trump loves to do. He doesn't do anything in private. He likes the public stuff, and it makes people uncomfortable. But I think it's probably better to have it done in public than in private. And I understand. If I can just add, I understand HUD's position on this, and I think it's a reasonable position to implement, investigate Boston. But the Trump administration, I also believe, is really addressing this from a more macro, a bigger picture. And it's part of the affordability crisis. We hear it all the time. Housing is critical. When you talk about affordability in this particular country, in this country. And the Trump administration is taking steps to address that, I don't think that can be understated. Yeah, absolutely. I want to go back to what you said earlier to Terry parents. I think HUD and the Education Department should team up because I wish I would have had budgeting classes or, you know, homeownership kind of classes to be able to prepare. I think that that is kind of the core of a lot of this. So that was a great idea to educate like anything else. And I'm not telling you what I've heard, I'm telling you what I know. It's about sacrificing. If you set a goal, if homeownership is your goal, it's about sacrificing, it's about preparing it. It may not be an immediate thing, but if you sacrifice enough, it is something that's achievable. It's tough. Not gonna lie to you. It's tough, but it is achievable. David. Yeah, it's priorities, exactly. For sure. All right, great discussion. Coming up, we're headed down to Wall street for the opening bell and a look at the latest victims of the monopoly power of Google. We'll be back with more American Sunrise in just two minutes. Stay. Welcome back everyone. We're getting ready for the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. It's Set to ring here in about six minutes. I can tell you that pre market trading not looking so hot on the major US indices. The Dow, S P500 and Nasdaq are all in the red at the moment. Hopefully that changes once the opening bell rings in the markets open for this day of trading. We'll take you there again here in about six minutes. But first, first let's get you over to David Brody. David, good morning. Good morning, T. Bates. All right, time now for a daily dose of dollars and common sense. We've got American Sunrise early edition host and the guy behind Jake's take, substack. I don't know why I said it like that, like it's a stadium call. What am I in a stadium of 80,000 people? Jake Novak. Jake Novak, good to see you. By the way, good morning to you. Good. I'm starting at H Vac. Apparently in this game, according to the way that you just announced, just not for Michigan, please. Okay, Now Jake, you said many times that Google is a monopoly and now that monopoly is getting even bigger. So please expand. Yeah, and it's a scary monopoly, David, because it's basically the publishing monopoly in all pretty much the entire English speaking world. And so if you, if you and your business or your livelihood relies on something being published, then Google's gonna take it from you eventually. That's what they're doing now to Zillow. Zillow is a real estate listing agency. Listings are published. Google, I can't believe it took them this long to get into this. So now they're going to get into the real estate listing business. And Zillow shares are down 8% yesterday. They're, they're flat this morning as we expected. Just before they, we opened trading. Zillow's already way down from where it was four years ago. At this time it was trading like two. More than 200 a share a share about four years ago. Now it's at less than $70 a share. Google's been eating into them for a while, but now they're going to do it officially. Google needs to be broken up, so it is Amazon and a number of other companies I can name as well. This is not an anti corporate sentiment on my part. I'm very in favor of the free market, but this is anti free market stuff. And Google will come for you one day and then you'll be wondering why we didn't do this sooner. This is outrageous. In my opinion, I don't really care that much about Zillow. I just care about Google having too much power. Yeah, definitely. Principled stand. So it's been Reefer Madness on Wall Street. Investors are getting the munchies, clearly for cannabis stocks. You wrote that line, by the way, and that is a great line. But could this all go up in smoke? Oh, so good, so good. Got all my pot references in there. Look, there are these reports that President Trump's gonna reclassify marijuana as a less dangerous drug. And while I think that makes sense, sense from a chemical standpoint and a scientific standpoint. Not a really big fan of making marijuana even more available in the public than it already is. Listen, you walk down the streets of New York, you get a contact high already. I don't need to buy any of this stuff. But this is great news for a company. A couple of companies, especially Tilray, Til R A Y, they're a cannabis producer. Their shares were up 45% yesterday in just one day. Talk about a high. Gave up a little bit yesterday. Sorry that this, that was on Friday. Gave up a little bit yesterday. But still very much up there. Up and up in smoke yet. But they could go down. Because if this reclassification doesn't come as soon as people think it is going to come, according to these reports, you could see a big sell off in the next couple of days. Or if it turns out that there are still illegal groups that are still making the most money off of all this, which is the case in places like California. California. Maybe investors will change their mind. I'm just here to warn people, don't get a contact high from tilray going up 45% on Friday. It could come back down. Just, just remember, just invest wisely and don't let the pot go to your head. Yeah. So many, so many references. All right, finally. Look, I know how much you hate being proven right about EVs. It's a burden you have to live with. No, I get that, that. But for Ford, I guess they just proved you right to the tune of almost $20 billion. What's happening? We got about a minute left. Yeah. Ford saying that $19.5 billion are going to take a special write off. That's basically when Ford's coming to the market and saying we need to report that we lost a lot of money on something. $19.5 billion they're going to charge against their other, their profits overall because of the failures in the evidence business. And one of the things that makes me really angry about this is that, remember all that green technology. We're told green jobs is going to be all these jobs, jobs, jobs. I got news for you. When a company loses 20 billion bucks, it's going to cut jobs to make up for it pretty soon. This is really making me angry. Afforded stuck with their gas powered car trucks and SUVs that really make them the money. Maybe there'd be more people working at Ford right now. That is just, that's at the end of the day. That's what makes me the angry. Jake Novak with the daily EV Update. It wouldn't be a segment without an EV reference. Thank you, sir. Appreciate you can't help it. All right. All right. Heading back to Terrence and Denver now for the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. Last time I've heard, I'm pretty sure, yeah, I'm positive. It's sponsored by amac. The association of Mature American Citizens is the conservative voice for Americans 50 and and older. AMAC is fighting for the values that you hold dear. Join today. Together we can write the course of America. We're less than a minute away from the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. You're going to start hearing the applause here in short order and then shortly after that you'll see or you'll hear, excuse me, the opening bell. So there is the applause as I mentioned, which means that we are coming up on the opening bell itself. And then there will be a frenzy on the trading floor as those first buys and sales get put in and people go to try to make an extra buck. This morning pre market trading wasn't so hot. So now that the markets are officially open, let's take a quick look and see how the opening of the markets is looking. And it's pretty much the same story as you can tell. The major indices, the DAX, Dow, S P500 and the NASDAQ remaining in the red. Hopefully though, today will ultimately end up being a pretty good deal. You just heard Jake mentioned that the jobs numbers for this month are in or actually I guess they would have technically been for last month. So hopefully that will boost things just a little bit or at least give some clarity to the markets and we'll see things change. Still to come here on American Sunrise, though, a major New Year's Eve terror plot stopped just weeks before the celebration as federal agents arrest four radical pro Palestinian extremists who are accused of planning coordinated bombings across Los Angeles. Thank you so much for joining us this morning. We invite you to join the conversation on Getter and Rumble. Time now to take the political pulse of America and the beat. Today, federal authorities say a major terror plot was stopped just weeks before New Year's Eve. The FBI arresting four alleged members of a radical pro Palestinian extremist group accused of planning coordinated bombings across Los Angeles. Investigators say the suspects were preparing improvised explosive devices and targeting multiple locations when they were taken into custody in the California desert. A fifth suspect connected to the same group was also arrested in New Orleans as officials warned the threat was real, imminent and potentially deadly. The doj. DOJ Rather says the operation highlights growing concerns about homegrown extremism and ideologically motivated violence inside the U.S. u.S. Let's bring in David Brody and Terence Bates for further discussion on all of this. I mean, this is really, really scary to, you know, have this be happening in California. David well, yeah, and it's a broken record. And here it's California. It could be really all over the country. I Mean, do we need to go back to 9 11? Honestly, do we need to go back to the Barbary Pirates back in the Thomas Jefferson days? I mean, seriously. I mean, radical Islamic terrorism. Let's just call it straight up out. Radical Islamic terrorism has been with us for the longest time, even back to our founding as a country. So, I mean, this should not shock us at all. And apparently everybody wants to talk about the Jews, you know, J o o O s. It's radical Islamic terrorism that's the villain here, folks. It ain't Israel. I'm not saying you can disagree with Israel's policies. That's fine. No one's saying you can't. And all right, well, it looks like we lost David's connection there, but we do have Brian Glenn joining us from the White House. Brian, before we dive into all of this, I just want to congratulate you on your engagement. How exciting, Brian. Yeah, that's exciting. Yes. I think it was about time. You know, it's one of these things we have built. Both been thinking about doing for a while. And, you know, you get to a point, you say, all right, let's. We're gonna officially formalize this relationship and let's put a ring on it and go beyond just being a girlfriend boyfriend scenario. So very happy that she said yes and very. I'm looking forward to the years ahead. You guys are like, my favorite couple. You're, like, so perfect together. Adorable. I'm sorry, Brian, but since she said put a ring on it, I'm wondering if Marjorie said, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Did she do that? I suspect probably not. All right, go. She went, oh, no, no. Oh, no, no. I'm glad she didn't say that, though. Nicely played. Go ahead. Congratulations, Brian. All right, so let's. Let's get down to it, AJ Pam Bondi says this could have been a massive and horrific terror attack, referring to what we were just speaking about in California. The. Is the administration still investigating possible copycats? It's great that they were able to thwart this before New Year's Eve, but what do Americans need to know? Yeah, I was right next to Pam Bonney yesterday in the Oval Office when this topic kind of came up. And of course, they are very concerned about this Islamic terrorism that is really, as David laid out, is perfectly. That's been in our country for a time, long, long time. That is the greatest threat, I personally believe, to our U.S. sovereignty and the safety of Americans around this country is this extreme Islamic radical terrorist attack. And they have been tracking these individuals in the California desert by drone and had them spotted and then moved several agencies in place to take these people into custody. They were a part of like a Turtle island coalition, I believe. I have never heard of that actual group, but there are fractions across this country. I know I saw reports just last year of organizations training in Texas as well. So this is a problem across the country, especially, Emily, as we move into the holiday season, I think Americans should be on a certain, on edge to a certain point, wondering about their safety. I just think it's always, as they say, you know, use car common sense, keep your head on a swivel. If you see something, say something. But certainly we are very appreciative of the officials that cracked down on these individuals before they were able to pull off this New Year's Eve event there in Los Angeles, in other countries, cities rather. Brian, want to change gears a little bit and talk about foreign policy. It, of course, is always front and center there at the White House. In fact, yesterday, a round of peace talks involving US Officials to end the war between Russia and Ukraine concluded in Berlin, Germany. That meeting, of course, very closely watched and involved Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, with the US Represented by special envoy Steve Witkoff, as. Whereas Jarrett as well, excuse me, as Jared Kushner. So what are you hearing about the next steps that the administration plans to take in order to finally bring this war to a close? And I guess more importantly, is there optimism that an actual piece of peace deal can and will be reached in short order, or is this really all about the long game? You know what, Terrence? I wish I had the map. Where every time they have a meeting and, and you they either meet with Zelensky or they convey information, information from Putin. It's like you don't really know who to trust and who wants what concessions. I know that the Donbass region, that Ukraine has been asked to kind of give up 14% of that region. And, and Zelensky said he doesn't really know if that's coming from the US Side or is that something that Vladimir Putin is demanding. So there are so many things in question, of course, security guarantees as well as Zelensky feels like Putin, once, you know, their Ukrainian troops leave that area, that Putin will proceed to move in and what can guarantee that he won't go further in the country. So it is yet to be solved. And I really personally feel like we've been talking about this, well, for three years now, just about. And of how to end this war. And I know that's President Trump has been, he's been talking about on the campaign trail. This is one of his, I guess, the final, you know, if you will, wars that he wants to end. But it appears that they're just doing, playing a gang of ping pong back and forth is what they demand, what they're able to give up. But in the end, well, hopefully, you know, we can come to a peace deal because thousands of lives are being lost every day. Brian, we want to bring back in David. David, I see you there. If I can just ask a quick follow up though, Brian. I get the impression from what President Trump and from what Caroline Levitt has said that President Trump is tired of talking. I get the impression that he's tired of talking through all of this and he's ready for some real action. And it's either put up or shut up for the President. It sounds like it is. And you can tell that he's being more direct in his responses to when that question is asked in the Oval Office or in any setting, that he is ready to end this thing and all of the negotiations. Negotiations. I mean, how many times can you go back and forth and ask for concessions or ask for this, ask for that. How many times can you do that without you saying, okay, you know what, if we can't come up with an agreement on this date, we're out. And I think if we were to stop, and I've said this before, Terrence, if we would stop the money flowing into Ukraine, then quite honestly, you will see the war end. Because right now we're still sending hundreds of millions of dollars. And the USAA that just was passed last week gives hundreds of millions of dollars to Ukraine to fight this war. And then we of course sell weapons as well to NATO. So it's one of those situations where I don't see it ending anytime soon. But we have to put a date on this to say either we get it settled and we're out because obviously President Trump is focusing on a little bit more domestic problems that we have. Well, Brian, let me do a follow up to the follow up, which is that now, now what happens exactly? Because if he says we're out, well, that's game, set, match for Ukraine. They're not going to win without any United States help. So that would put the pressure on Zelensky to come to the bargaining table. And my sense of it, you tell me if I'm wrong here, Brian. My sense of it is the way Trump operates is like look, war is rough. War's tough. Russia has been winning, and you're going to have to lose some stuff here. And. Oh, well, I mean, I kind of feel like that's a bit of his attitude here. I think you're right. I mean, you're going to have to give up something. And I know that Donbass region, about 14% is what they're asking him to give up. Now, whether or not he's willing to do that, he actually says in order to give that up, it has to be a referendum. I guess go to the people of Ukraine would have to vote on something like that. Well, I'll pose this. When the war started, Zelensky pretty much canceled his elections in his country, so he would remain in power. So I think if the people could go back and vote on whether or not they want Zelensky to be president of Ukraine, I think they would probably vote him out. I think what. What we've seen is the elite and powerful in this country leave, and they've left the peasants, if you will, the common people to fight this war. And they've had recruiting difficulties. They've had a hard time getting people on the front lines to. To fight to continue this war. So it's a very unpopular thing there. So I think if you did put it to the vote for the people, I think they would vote to, look, let's have a concessions. Let's end the bloodshed, and let's move on. All right, Brian Glenn, thank you so much for being with us this morning. Thanks be. Thank you. All right, still to come on a major American sunrise. The Minnesota Democrat says that her son was pulled over by ICE agents and had to prove that he was a U.S. citizen. Omar claims agents stopped him after a targeted run and only let him go once he produced his passport, which conveniently she says that he is always carrying. She's now accusing ICE of racial profiling, saying federal agents are targeting young Somali men despite census data showing over 90% of Somalis in America are in fact US citizens. ICE hasn't confirmed the incident yet, but Omar is already blaming President Trump and calling the operation racist. So the question is, was this a routine ID check or another political narrative brewing? For more, let's bring in David Brody and Terrance Bates. David, curious to hear your thoughts on this one. I wish I had more. Shockingly, I have no thoughts. Well, actually that's not really shocking at times. I don't know. I mean, you know, I'd like to have some more details. I've been scouring the Internet, and of course, everything. I believe everything on the Internet is, of course, true. But I scoured the Internet. I don't see a reason why he was pulled over. We understand that he was praying at a mosque. This is what I know. He was praying at a mosque. Earlier in the evening. He went to Target and then was pulled over. That's all I got. I like just some more answers. That's all, you know. And how random is the targeting and whether or not she has a beef here, I can't answer it either way. And I gotta let the facts dictate here. T. Bates agree. The facts have got to dictate. And at this point, we don't know what the probable cause, that's the legal term that's typically used for pulling someone over. We don't know what, if any, probable cause there was. But what we do know, David and Emily, is that ice is cracking down on Somalis in the Minneapolis St. Paul area. And so it stands to reason that there are going to be accusations and allegations of targeting and of racial profiling simply based on the fact that police are targeting a specific group or at least looking for people for probable cause in a specific group. And so we're going to hear these sorts of allegations when there are people being pulled over and when there are people being questioned by ICE officials. Again, as we kind of get into this, this new reality, ICE is going to have to be very serious and very particular about the probable cause and making sure that all the I's are dotted and all the T's are crossed. Otherwise. Otherwise, we're gonna see more of these sorts of allegations, whether they're founded or not, of racial profiling. Unfortunately, based on my experience having covered these sorts of stories, it's part of the nature of the beast. It just is. Yeah, no, that's all. It's all true, Terrence, I will say. You know Ilhan Omar, though, right? She's kind of notorious for pushing narratives. Notorious for talking about things that really kind of light on fire, if you will. I mean, she definitely wants to get attention. So like David said, I think we have to wait for the facts of this. Absolutely. This situation to come out. But, yeah, we'll see. ICE hasn't responded yet, right, David? No, I don't. No, they haven't yet. They arrested 400 people in Minnesota a couple days ago. They very well may not. And listen, Ilhan Omar is not a beacon of truth. Okay, so we can start with that premise and go from there. Yeah. All right, great discussion, you guys. All right, welcome back to American Sunrise. Thank you so much for joining us today. Time now for the sunny side up and in the pan. Today, a true Christmas miracle. After nearly five years missing, a little dog named named choco was found 2,300 miles from home. From California to Michigan and back again. Thanks to a microchip, a handful of strangers donated miles and a lot of heart, Choco made it home just in time for the holidays. Proof that sometimes, against all odds, miracles really do find their way back home. Aw, that is incredible. So great to be reunited with furry friends. 2,300 miles. Wow. What are the details on that? Do we know what happened exactly? Did I miss that? I don't know. That just seems pretty cool though. How did he force dump his way from California to Michigan? I will say I did that drive with my dad when I moved back to Michigan. I lived in California for a little bit. I did that whole drive, all those miles. It is far. It is very, very far. I will say that. Especially if you're a dog. Absolutely. Yeah. Oh, incredible. And here's the thing. I'm sure that people encountered that dog during that five year period. It seems to me that if I were to encounter a dog that was just kind of stray, I would immediately look to see if there's a microchip or find any way to reunite it with its home or find out where it came from. And so I'm just curious about why it took so long, why it took five years for someone to find the dog and say, okay, let me check for a microchip to check, try to return it to its owner. If there in fact is an owner. It seems to me that would be the first thing I do. And I'm sure. Again. Within five years. David and Emily, that many people encounter this dog. Terrence Bates, the investigative reporter here wanting answers. Today on Sunny side Up. This is the type of story that we really miss Dr. Gina for. She needs to be here for this. She would get down to the bottom of the. What happened to this little dog? 100%. By the way, you know, I'm sure I would love. It would have been cool if Choco. Choco. Is that the. It sounds so weird to say that name. Choco. If Choco had a camera. Can you imagine, like, a camera kind of built in? Not built in, inside Choco, but on the outside of Choco to see all of the trials and tribulations and all the stuff that Choco went through on the 2300 mile. Drama. We have a. My daughter actually has a cat, Charlie. And Charlie, as mischievous as you can get. And it would be kind of neat to put, like, a camera on top of Charlie's head and kind of see where Charlie goes. And, you know, I hate to say this. You can make some money off of it. Sorry, I just said. I said it. Hey, so look, you two, I know you thought you were gonna get away from the show today without the Bates family tradition, mutual music. Oh, no. We're gonna end this show with some songs. And. And, Emily, I'm glad you're here because you're a heavy metal fan, correct? That is correct. Yes, you're a heavy metal fan. But when it comes to Christmas carols, are you a traditionalist or are you open to pretty much anything? Yeah, for sure. Elvis Christmas is my. Go to Elvis Christmas. Okay, well, another one of the Bates standards for Christmas is this song right here. Here. It's Christmas by Donnie Hathaway. Enjoy. This is my gift to you. How much fun it's going to be. This is awesome. Look at the control room. We got everyone dancing here. Terrence. Christmas at your house is a lot of fun, Terrence. And this Christmas will be. I've heard this very special. Have you've heard this, David? Yes. Yes, I have. And you like it. And I would like. I'm telling you, you like it whether you do or not. Yeah, I like how you said that. You like it, don't you? Yes, I do. I do like it. I do like it. I would like the music to be lowered so we can have a solo just for tbates. Just acapella as we. As we leave. That's awesome. I hope that Dr. Gina will be back tomorrow because I really had an entire week of music set up. For Dr. Gina to get under her skin. So as soon as she gets back, oh, I'm going all in. But that is one of the Bates family favorites right there. She's going to love you. Like I said, I know Christmas, I your house is a lot of fun. Terrence, that was a great song. Thanks for showing it to us. All right you guys, great show today. We will be back with more American Songs. Season two of Unrivaled Basketball is here and the talent is unreal. This episode of American Sunrise delivers the day’s headlines with a focus on American values, political developments, terrorism threats, and cultural commentary. The hosts—Terrence Bates, David Brody, and Emily Finn (in for Dr. Gina)—cover breaking news involving terror plots, legal battles, 2024 presidential prospects, mask mandates, and stories of faith and perseverance. Experts and correspondents weigh in on foreign policy, national security, public health, and financial issues.
David Brody on Trump’s legal aggression (05:55):
“Donald Trump went right from the womb into the courtroom…he keeps them accountable…Dinero.”
Robert Spencer on government failures (41:17):
“…If this guy was on the radar for ISIS in 2019, he should never have slipped off. That either shows they don't care…or they got so many people like this that they can’t keep track of them. Neither choice is good.”
Dr. Ben Tapper on mask mandates (1:01:05):
“Did it help last time? No. This is so silly to me that we are implementing these back into the…health care system. Maybe it makes people feel better, but really, to me, it’s a false sense of security.”
