I'm David Brody.
Terrence Bates
I'm terrence.
David Brody
And I'm Dr. Gina.
Emily Finn
Well, good morning and Merry Christmas to all of our viewers. Thank you for tuning in to this holiday edition of American Sunrise. I'm Emily Finn filling in today for Dr. Gina live from West Palm Beach. Let's bring in David brody in Washington, D.C. and Terrance Bates in our Denver newsroom. Merry Christmas to both of you. It's the best time of the year.
Terrence Bates
It is the best time of the year. Terrence, Emmy Rose, good morning to you. Merry Christmas. Debro, Good morning to you, my friend. Merry Christmas to you. Hugs to both of you. And hugs to your family members as well.
Emily Finn
Absolutely. And you, too, Terrence. How are you celebrating Christmas with your family today?
Terrence Bates
Well, I'm here, so when I get home, I expect Sweet Rose to be done. That's a tradition for us. We get up in the morning, not a big breakfast. My wife usually makes these kind of orange sweet rolls and we eat those, open our presents and all of that and just kind of lounge around. So I can't wait to get home and get my sweet roll, David.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Well, that's good. I'm all for sweet rolls. We do it well, honestly, every Christmas. We typically do Chinese food. I kid you not. I kid you not. It's the only thing open on Christmas, by the way. I think it goes back to my Jewish roots. You know, I grew up Jewish, as you guys know, and so, you know, we Jews. Right. Back in the back, if you will. That's what we ate on Christmas, because it was the only thing open. But it just became a tradition that my family really loves. But this year, we will not be doing that. We will be doing a traditional Christmas. And Gina will be happy to know, and, Terence, you will as well, that there will be no empanadas at Bruce.
Emily Finn
That's kind of like at the end of A Christmas Story, right? Don't they get Chinese food there as well?
Announcer
That's exactly.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Thank you, Emily. Thank you for validating my Christmas experience.
David Brody
That's awesome.
Terrence Bates
How about you guys? Emily, your parents, I know they came for Thanksgiving. Are they coming back for Christmas?
Emily Finn
Yes, yes, they will be here for Christmas. And, you know, we should probably take up the Chinese food tradition. We always. I love that you said the sweet rolls, Terrence. That's a tradition with my family as well. Every Christmas morning, we have cinnamon rolls. Actually, not sweet rolls, but cinnamon rolls. And so I am very much looking forward to having those. That is a go to Christmas Christmas dish in the thin household.
Terrence Bates
So if I may just share one quick family story. And it has become kind of a thing for us now. When our kids were young, my mom came out to see us for Christmas. I don't know why my dad wasn't there, but my mom was out to see us for Christmas, and we were like, okay, well, you know, there's not much going on. Let's go to the movies. And so we went to the movies and we snuck in food. I think we must have had, like, probably Chinese. You know, we probably had, like, you know, a thing of mugu gai pans, some egg rolls, like a full meal that we snuck into the movie theater. And so now my mom every year is like, can we go to the movies and sneak in food? She really enjoyed that. So that's been a memorable thing. Don't. Don't do that. It probably was a bad. A bad thing to do, but we enjoyed it, and we ate heartily. I mean, you know, we were passing trays down. I think there were other People like looking back at what are they eating over there.
Emily Finn
So, yeah, Terrence, a fun fact. I don't think you knew this, but Jesus favorite dish was moo goo gai pan. So it's great that you're doing that on his birthday.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
That is correct. That is correct. That is in the book of Luke. That is correct. If you just search mugu gaipan, it comes up. That is true.
Emily Finn
That's what Jesus wanted on his birthday.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Mugukai pan.
Terrence Bates
That's hilarious.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
He fed the 5,000 leftover. That's correct. Oh, let's do that.
David Brody
Why not?
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Okay. Oh, yeah, that's a good idea. Let's do the Bible verse on Christmas.
David Brody
Why the heck not?
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Oh, did I say heck? Okay, that's okay. I can say heck. It's from Luke 2, 13 and 14. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host prais God. And saying, glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace, goodwill toward men. That is the ultimate Christmas verse for sure. All right. The Christmas season is for loved ones coming together, of course. So we want to welcome a member of our rad family to the show. Oh, he's loved here. He's air quote loved. That's Steve Gruber, the host of America's Voice Live. Certainly on Santa's nice list this year. Steve, we know you're on Santa's nice list. I mean, that's just a given. And what was on your Christmas shopping list this year, by the way? What do you got? You want a new ifb? What do you want?
David Brody
I do need a new ifb.
Terrence Bates
How'd you know?
David Brody
Yeah, I do need a new ifb. That's true. You know, I don't know. You know, I think about this, and I hear you guys telling stories, and I'm not thinking about this year's gift, but I think about the greatest gift I ever got on Christmas. I was 7 years old. Socks and David, you're probably old enough. Terrence, maybe. Emily. Sorry. You won't remember. This will mean nothing to you. But this is beautiful. The electric football game. I was so thrilled. Make all this noise. The players would run the wrong direction. The kicker would kick that little football off to the side. I love the electric football. I sat down there, I painted each player. It's one of the greatest gifts I ever got from my mom, God rest her soul. I love that. And I think about Christmas, you know, and I think about all the great things, but I also think about those that really need more help today. I do. It crosses my Mind the people that are at the food banks or the shelters and different things. Look, we think about it not often enough. You know, you start thinking about it at Thanksgiving and it kind of rolls through Christmas. But there's people out there that need a helping hand. And look, Covid really did a job on a lot of these small charities, ones that work in communities that know the people the best. Those that make a million dollars or more in total contributions annually really took it on the chin during COVID So I suggest to you, if you got a little bit left in the Christmas stocking to help people out, help out those local, smaller charities. They connect with their community. They know who needs the help. They're familiar with them. They might even know them on a first name basis. So my Christmas wish for the Rabb family is to give what you can to those that can do the most with it. That's just kind of my wish for today.
Emily Finn
Well, and this is why you're on the nice list, Steve Gruber. That's a beautiful message to give back to others. And Santa told me that he has an electric football game that he's dropping off to Michigan this year. So I think you're in luck, Em.
David Brody
Do you know what that is?
Emily Finn
I don't, but I love the way that you describe that. That was so cute. All right, Steve. All right. We have it confirmed that you're on the nice list. But out of all of the swamp creatures in Washington, D.C. who do you think is at the top of the naughty list this year?
Terrence Bates
Ooh, let me get my popcorn.
David Brody
Wow. Anybody who's selling Obamacare. Yeah, anybody who's selling Obamacare as a solution is on the naughty list. Anybody who's trying to tell you after all these years that Obamacare is good for America, it's good for health care. Nonsense. It's complete garbage. We know that. Anybody who's trying to sell subsidies for another one, two, three years, whatever it is, they are on the naughty list because all they're doing is talking about people that need a chunk of coal in their stocking. They're taking from the rich and giving to the richer. They're giving to the insurance company. They're not taking it for the rich and give it to the poor. They're taking it for the rich, give it to themselves in a way, because a lot of that money ends up right back in their campaign funds. Definitely on my naughty list. Here's something else on my naughty list. And this really has been bothering me for a bit, and that is people that run for office. And somewhere along the line, say, you know what? I'm going to quit. I decided I don't want to do it. You campaign for the job. You can fill in the names. You campaign for the job.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
I know what you're talking about. I know.
David Brody
Not just one, David.
Terrence Bates
And that's not just one. Yeah, there are more people. I get it. We all are on the same page. But there are more. I get it.
David Brody
Look, Mark Green. Mark Green from Tennessee. He quit because he got a big job offer. Wait a second, Mark. You got the job offer because you're in Congress and you run off and take the cash. No, no, no, no. You're on the naughty list, young man, and will be for a while. And so that really bothers me. Should it not? You campaign for the job, and then you realize, oh, politics is ugly. Or, wait a second. There's a big cash cow at the end of the rainbow. I don't like that a bit.
Terrence Bates
Okay, all right. We're gonna get off that before we hurt some feelings. So on this Christmas day. We don't want to do that. I'm sorry.
David Brody
Yeah, it's Christmas. I don't want to hurt any feelings. You're right.
Terrence Bates
Yeah, yeah, I get you. I. I'm smelling what you're putting down, but we'll get off of that one. So let's talk about some Christmas traditions that you and your family enjoy.
David Brody
You know, look, we had a big get together last night, Christmas Eve. Always a big family get together. I don't know. It's always been that way. And so here's my question to you guys, and I'll let you answer the thing. You get one present on Christmas Eve. I don't know why. It's always been the family tradition. And you don't get to pick it, by the way. You know, you don't let your son wander over there. Hey, here's the biggest package under the tree. I'll take that. No, no, no. Here's your package for tonight. But can I open another one? No, you get one. You know, it's always that back and forth. Mom and dad and the kids, you get one. But we get together, Ivy puts on a sp. I mean, it's. I don't want to see the scale come tomorrow. I mean, a couple of days of this, it's just like all that work, you know? I heard about your orange sweet rolls. That sounds wonderful. For me, that's just the opening salvo around our kitchen. I'm telling you, she thinks she's cooking for half of the state and does a fine job. There are plenty of leftovers, lots of food. She can't help her. And God bless her for being that and what a wonderful wife she is. And so it's family on Christmas Eve. Christmas, more quiet Christmas, just a family thing. Mom and dad, me and Ivy and the kids. And we'll, you know, open the stuff and so when I'm done here, I'm running upstairs. We're gonna do that and we'll take care of that. But it's. I don't know. Christmas Eve is a big get together and then Christmas is a quieter day. We look out at. Look, we got a white Christmas here like nobody's business. It's white as far as the eye can see. That's kind of nice. You only get those about half the time where I live. We got couple of years, so that's nice. I mean, lots. And there's not reindeer, but deer playing in the yard even as I speak. So you got that going for you.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Wow, that's idyllic. I mean, really, That's a Michigan Christmas for sure. That actually kind of cool where you are where you are.
Emily Finn
That's amazing. I miss Michigan Christmases. Steve, my family's gonna be coming down here to Florida for Christmas this year, but man, there is nothing like being there in the snow. I love, love Christmas in Michigan.
David Brody
Yeah, how are you gonna ice skate? I mean, we've got two ponds out here that are frozen rock solid. There'll be some ice skating in the future here. Maybe not today, but sometime the next day or two because the ponds are ideal this year. Perfect. We could play hockey out there. Terrance, you want to be the goalie?
Terrence Bates
Steve, I would pay money to see you on ice skates. I would pay. I pay money and I'll pay your co pay. I'll also pay your co pay by.
Emily Finn
I bet he does.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Yeah. You know how to spring Steve, right?
David Brody
Yeah, not well. Look, gravity always wins. That's your lesson. Gravity always wins.
Emily Finn
Steve is trying out for the Red Wings next year.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Yeah, the Red Wings.
David Brody
Love it, Steve.
Terrence Bates
Love you, my friend. Big hugs to the family for me. Wish everyone happy, Merry Christmas and we'll see you soon.
David Brody
Merry Christmas, my friends.
Terrence Bates
Merry Christmas.
David Brody
The Rav family too. Thank you, guys.
Emily Finn
Merry Christmas to you.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)

Saint Louis, Missouri on Christmas morning. Welcome back everybody, to this special Christmas Day edition of American Sunrise. Coming up, who has been naughty and who has been nice in D.C. and beyond while in D.C. the nice list isn't very long. We're going to get to that later. First, though, T. Bates standing by with the latest headlines from the Real America's Voice newsroom, sponsored by amac.

Americans across the country gathered for Christmas Eve celebrations last night, keeping traditional holiday spirit alive. Families lit trees. They sang carols and shared meals reminding everyone that Christmas is about family, faith and community, not political correctness. Many of us headed to church services, neighborhood gatherings or friends homes to spread joy and Thanksgiving. And local merchants report last minute shoppers picked up gifts and holiday treats, keeping Main Street America buzzing. So here's a question for you. Are you planning to get to your Christmas Day destination later today? Well, if so, you'll definitely want to listen up, because travel across the United States will be a tale of two different weather stories, with significant disruptions expected in the north and smooth sailing for the South. If your plans take you to the Northeast or upper Midwest, be prepared for a white Christmas that may actually complicate your travel. Snow is expected across those regions, along with eastern Ohio Valley and the Lower Great Lakes, meaning the driver should anticipate slick roads and potential delays. Extra travel time is also a must, so budget that into your travel out West. The Pacific Northwest in particular, is bracing for storms and rain, which could also cause air and road travel disruptions. However, for those who are traveling in the Southeast, Florida in particular, and along the Atlantic corridor, the forecast, as you would, might, probably, would expect, is ideal. Expect sunny skies and minimal precipitation, making for smooth flying and driving conditions. And while Christmas Day itself is historically one of the lighter air travel days, during the holiday week, high overall travel volumes mean that you should still plan ahead. The best advice is to pack a winter emergency kit if you're driving in snowy areas and check those local short term forecasts from Weather Nation and the National Weather Service before you hit the road. We're still waiting for the final numbers, but this Christmas holiday shopping season is on pace to break records with US retail spending expected to exceed $1 trillion for the first time ever. Consumer expectations were mixed with economic pressures, having many people surveyed thinking twice about big purchases. But many still did spend and spend big hoping for deals and discounts. Online sales are surging with record setting traffic and a big push towards e commerce as shoppers grab deals from home for retail and from home. Excuse me, for retailers it was a balancing act though. They pushed with early sales deals and digital services while watching for sluggish spending from cautious consumers. Hopefully you're enjoying your Christmas Day so far and you got all of your Christmas gifts in. If not, good luck getting out there and getting into any of the stores that may still be open today to get that last minute gift. All right folks, up next, the holidays in some of the world's hotels spots and overview of those well remembered in our prayers on this sacred day. First though, a quick look at this day in history. So it was on this date in 2000 of 2000, in 2021 April. Excuse me. Though the precise origin of the date is still unclear, the Christmas commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ was first celebrated. That's right, 221 A.D. the date was identified by Sextus Julius Africanus, who was a pioneering Christian historian, scholar and a traveler who created the first universal Christian chronology, sinking biblical events with secular history. We'll of course have more on the King of Kings and this day of days as this special Christmas Day edition of American Sunrise returns in just a moment.

Christmas Morning in Manhattan and you know what's under your Christmas Tree this morning, New York mom Donnie, he's also in your stocking stuffer. Welcome back, everybody, to American Sunrise. We've got a special Christmas Day edition of the big show. I'm David Brody. We turn our attention now to Ukraine. Aid groups are racing to distribute food and shelter, hygiene supplies, emergency relief to families still hurting from the war. Hundreds of thousands of kids face ice cold winter without heating, without homes, in schools, basic services all destroyed or disabled. And they've got obviously problems when it comes to heating. All of that desperate appeals are going out around the world today. Not just Christmas, it's a call to save children and families who could otherwise be forgotten. Joining us now for reaction this Christmas morning is retired Navy captain GOP strategist Armin Kurdian. Armin, this war has gone on forever. At least it feels that way to the folks in Ukraine and Russia. Good morning, Good Christmas morning. But it's not a good Christmas morning overseas. In those places of the world, it's been tough.
Donna Feduccia
Army.
Armin Kurdian
Certainly not. David, good morning and merry Christmas. This is absolutely awful. Nearly 9 million Ukrainian families have been displaced old, sick, young. I mean, how many, how many of these people are going to die? We've already had several, many days of sub freezing weather in Kharkiv. It gets very brutal over there. You just look at history as to how cold it gets there in Ukraine. And with Russia's targeting Ukraine's infrastructure, their, their power plants, then folks are going to really have to get innovative. They're going to need blankets, they're going to need chemical heaters, they're going to need food, they're going to need medicine because this is, this is humanitarian crisis that comes for three or four months every year because of this war. So the international community has to keep doing what they can do to bring peace to this area, to stop this war from happening. Vladimir Putin has shown that he has no proclivity for, for doing that. He's an international criminal and the blood of all these innocent Ukrainians is on his hands.
Terrence Bates
No, absolutely. Armin, my Christmas gift to you this morning is this headline. It reads, in short, Christmas festivities returned to Bethlehem after two years of war in Gaza. It's a tough place to secure, of course, but it does speak, I believe, to progress. How do you see the unfolding situation between Israel and Hamas and in that region in terms of progress?
Armin Kurdian
Bethlehem is in the West Bank. It's there, it's just south of Jerusalem. And for the last couple of years, it has been very, very hard on the people of Bethlehem and In all the west bank. The unemployment in that city was two thirds. But you know, now that is changing. Christmas is a time for all, all citizens, all people, the world to get together, you know, really, really, regardless of faith, because it is a time of peace and joy. Bethlehem is today a Muslim majority city. But you know, if we can see, you know, peaceful celebrations in that area of the world. You know, foreigners aren't returning back to Bethlehem just yet in the numbers they used to before October 7th of 23. But I think a lot of us are going to be looking to see how these celebrations are handled, that they're secure, that they're safe, that we can see peaceful joy of people of different faiths living together and celebrating peace. We can hope that perhaps Christmas can be a measure of healing for the Middle East.
Emily Finn
Yeah, especially on a day like Christmas. We want to see tolerance of all faiths, peace, people coming together. That is so beautiful. But we have heard, and this is a story that I think has been really underreported about the persecution of Christians in Nigeria. We've heard from various sources that multiple intelligence reports warn that more violent attacks against Christians there in Nigeria are being planned around the Christmas holiday. You know, this alert comes as religious motivated violence in the country has surged. As I said, I think it has been under reported raising fresh concerns for the safety of Christians in those communities. Have you heard anything about this, Armin?
Armin Kurdian
You know, Emily, Nigeria is the fourth wealthiest country in the African continent. Yet that the per capita income and per capita wealth is some of the lowest in the world. It is the highest, in the highest quartile for the most corrupt nations on earth. The government can't protect the people. We've seen Christians persecuted, we've seen, you know, Muslims persecuted. We've seen people kidnapped for ransom. We've seen, you know, oil well squandered from this country. This wealthy country is lining the pockets of, you know, few small individuals and the people in that country continue to suffer. And sadly, it's not on the international radar as much as it should be. So many parts of this country are lawless and that people can't be protected. It's truly, truly tragic. Yet you say, well, we need to send an international contingent in to protect the people. Well, how are you going to do that if the government can't do it themselves or they're not willing to really put forth that kind of effort? It is a tragedy of epic proportions. It is. Sadly, this is not a new story. This has been going on for decades, even centuries in some parts of that continent. I just kind of hope and pray that one day there will be a miracle and this kind of violence and this kind of hate and criminal activity won't be happening anymore. But perhaps we can shine a little bit more of a light on that and perhaps we can get some kind of help in there to at least protect the most vulnerable people in that community if the government is not willing or able to do so.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Armin, Christians all around the world celebrate the prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. Today, President Trump has talked about, he wants to be remembered as being the peace president. Give us a sense of how you think he's done so far. He's going to talk about all the peace deals that he's put together, but that Ukraine, Russia won remains elusive. And also, you've got the isolationist right who are saying, basically, look, why are you even spending your time doing all these peace deals? Stop it. Pay attention to stuff at home. I'm curious to get your take.
Armin Kurdian
Well, I remember the story Jesus said, turn the other cheek. Donald Trump is really making his best effort to bring peace to the world. What, what is wrong with that? You know, if you can do that without necessarily, you know, military conflict or military intervention, if you can bring peace to parts of the world, tell me what's wrong with that statement. He has made a full court press to actually do it as a, as a dealmaker. He enjoys doing it. You know, we've seen him bring ends to five, six different conflicts around the world and making these good faith efforts. You know, how many people, how many people are going to be alive, you know, two, four, ten years from now because of Donald Trump's efforts. You know, this is not a headline that you're going to see in a lot of the mainstream media, and I'm sure a lot of the president historians are not necessarily going to be kind to these efforts or even mention them in their historical documents. But we here, we know what he has done and what the efforts that he has made to try to end conflict around the world. He's a humanitarian at heart. Look at the amount of philanthropic work that he's done just for his home city of New York and what he's given away of his own personal wealth and his own personal time. Right now, not taking any money for being president and frankly, stepping away from his businesses is not a profitable venture for him. He is a public servant, a servant leader, and I hope he continues to make this effort to bring peace to parts of the world and end killing wherever possible.
Terrence Bates
Armin, what's been President Trump's most triumphant domestic policy, in your opinion? Wow.
Armin Kurdian
What to pick from on there? Just put me on the spot, why don't you, Terrence, you know, from my perspective. How about this?
Terrence Bates
Give me three. Give me three. There are a lot to choose from. You're right. So my Christmas present to you. I'll give you. I'll give you three.
Armin Kurdian
Okay. Okay. Well, one of my personal favorites is maybe not as well reported, is effort to return nuclear energy back to the United States. You know, if we can unlock nuclear energy within the U.S. that means more fossil fuels and natural gas that we can export to partners around the world so that they are free from other countries, from using their, you know, from using gas or other fossil fuels from illicit countries. He has made a full court effort to try to bulwark the American economy with his tariffs. Perhaps some of the implementations, you can, you can make arguments whether they were necessarily the best choice. But, you know, he understands that, you know, our economic base, our manufacturing base, it is a national security issue that is, that is very important. And frankly, that ties into the number one, I think, domestic policy, which is the deregulation, the reduction of the burdensome rules that were thrown down on us by the Biden administration. $1.3 trillion of cost added to the economy through regulation. That more than anything, more than taxes, more than the big beautiful bill bringing that back to heel to reduce that kind of strict constraints on the American economy. I think that more than anything, is probably his greatest triumph. Lee Zeldin at the EPA was a terrific choice. He's got three more years to reduce these, these chains, the smaller chain on the American economy. I hope he continues to do it.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
He's got his long list. Immigration, of course, is a big one. Thanks again, Armen. Karin, very merry Christmas to you and everybody. Thank you again.

Welcome back to our Christmas edition of American Sunrise. I'm Emily Finn filling in for Dr. Gina this morning. Thank you for joining us on this Christmas day. Time now for today's health news, sponsored by the wellness company under the Microscope. Today, you and your snow shovel. The question how old is too old to shovel snow? The snow season is here, and medical experts warn that shoveling snow is no longer a harmless chore for many Americans. According to guidance cited by the American Heart association, adults over 45 years old, and especially those with heart disease, high blood pressure or other risks, should think twice before grabbing a shovel. That's because heavy snow, cold air and sudden exertion can spike heart rate and blood pressure, sometimes risking heart attack or stroke. Ooh. For those individuals, experts say using a snow blower, hiring help, or having someone else clear the driveway is the smarter option for fit, healthy adults. Occasional light shoveling might be okay, but only if you take frequent breaks, move slowly and stop at the first sign of trouble. All right, well, I think my parents are going to be using that as an excuse to have me shovel some snow this year. All right, we know that stubborn ache that ice, heat or pain pills barely touch. TheraBlue was designed to go deeper. This next generation peptide gel uses AQA molecule delivery technology to drive relief ingredients past the skin and into muscle tissue. Its powerhouse trio, copper, peptide to reduce inflammation, NAD to restore cellular energy, and methylene blue to protect your mitochondria. They all help support real recovery, not just numbing. Okay, Emily, appreciate it. Let's bring Terence back into the conversation. That'd be T. Bates, and we'll just make a big old fun discussion about this. But we're gonna have another guest as well, because this Christmas Day, our team at Real America's Voice is proudly celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And that means we're going to join a lot of people into the celebration. So let's welcome in Julian Becerra. He is influencer and owner of Overtime Men's Health. Julian, thanks for being here. Appreciate it. Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas to you. Yeah, hey, talk to us about the importance of remembering the reason for the season. Because it's not all about the gift giving and decorations, is it?
David Brody
No, it's not. And we have to understand that biblically, which is the whole reason why we celebrate Christmas. Gift giving doesn't start with tradition or consumerism, which is kind of what it's gotten to today. It starts with recognition and response. And at its core, we give gifts on Christmas day because God gave us Christ first. And if we take it all the way back, I'm really thankful. This past Sunday, one of my pastors led a sermon where he kind of talked about the, you know, the importance of the gift givings and. And he retouched on what the magis did, which were the wise people back in the day. But the first gifts, they weren't exchanged between people trying to outdo each other like how it is today. They were brought by the magi to a child who had nothing to give back. So when Christ was born, they brought gifts really, to. Not to start a custom, but to honor who he was. It was three main gifts. The first one was gold, and that was a symbolism back then to acknowledge that he was a king. The second was frankincense, which was the symbolism of worshiping of a God. And then the last one was myrrh, which was foreshadowing the sacrifice that was to come. So they weren't exchanging those gifts with each other. They were just responding to a God entering the world and worship. So I think today, you know, what you do is the only way to really flip the switch is remembering that the gift giving was never the point. It's just the response. You know, these guys, they didn't travel months to celebrate a holiday. They traveled to honor a king who they truly believed in and who they truly wanted to worship. So when we make Christmas about buying more, spending more, or keeping score of who can outdo who, we reverse that order. We make ourselves a center. So biblically, you know, it's. We need to get back to the true reason behind all this. And we do that by remembering that it's not necessarily gift giving is just the byproduct. Celebrating and worshiping Christ should always be at the forefront.
Emily Finn
Absolutely. Celebrating and worshiping Jesus. You know, I'm going to take that a step further. I think we should celebrate Mary as well. She's the one that gave birth to Jesus. She put in all the work that day. And I feel like so many women put in all the work to make Christmas, you know, a beautiful experience. For their families. They're the ones that are up late wrapping all the gifts, they're cooking all the food in the morning. They don't get a whole lot of credit. But I am curious to hear what you have to say about how men should embrace their masculinity during the Christmas season. It feels like a very feminine holiday. Totally a bunch of examples of women embracing their femininity. But. But how should men embrace their masculinity during Christmas?
David Brody
I think there's. That's a phenomenal question. I think there's three main things they need to do to really embrace that. Number one is they have to be leaders of their home. I think so many men today because of this, because they're so in the day to day of having to go to work and getting home and not really having the energy to really want to pour into their family, they kind of push that off to their wives where the wives are now responsible for a lot of different things. Whereas I think men just primarily need to be leaders of that home. They have to. And it starts with the woman picking a man that she does respect and look up to, but he has to set an example for the kids. The second thing is he has to honor God and has to be a God fearing man and have those and bring those values into his home. And the last thing is he's got to take care of his people. I mean, there's a reason why most women spend more time in the home, especially during the holiday season. Primarily, if we go back to how things traditionally were, men would work, women would stay home and take care of the house. Right. So that's why in this holiday season the women get a bit more of the, the spotlights on them and the, the pressure is really on them to make sure that everything is proper. The men need to be out providing for their family, taking care of their people, honoring God and then truly being leaders in their home. And that's how we can really. I think the family unit does a lot better with that.
Emily Finn
I think that's really well said.
Terrence Bates
All right, so that was all very thought provoking, but now I want to just get provocative, Downright provocative. Julian, strap in. Because I want to know. You need to settle the debate for us here. Is Die Hard a Christmas movie or is it not? Settle the debate. Think wisely. Take a break. Think wisely before you answer this. Julian, go ahead.
David Brody
I don't think it's a Christmas movie.
Terrence Bates
Yes.
David Brody
Where does the debate stem from?
Terrence Bates
I, I have no idea where this debate stems from. I have no idea. Whoever brought up the idea just because it was set during Christmas that it's a Christmas movie. But I agree with you, it is not a Christmas movie. A setting during Christmas does not make it a Christmas movie. Sir, you have the floor.
David Brody
I fully agree there. I think Christmas movies, really, they have to have central themes of Christmas. But if we look at any other holiday where the movie might fall on, let's say a movie falls on July 4th. It's not a July 4th movie unless that is the central theme to it. So just because it happens around that, I think there's a. I view Christmas movies in the traditional sense, right? Like Home Alone is.
Donna Feduccia
Has got that vibe to it.
David Brody
You've got Elf, you've got the Christmas Carol, you've got, you know, all these others that have the central themes of Christmas. Those are real Christmas movies. But just because it.

Well, now that we've got you caffeinated on this Christmas morning, it's time to stay awake but not woke. And while families are waking up early with children to open up presents from Santa the city of Portland, Oregon, well it is continuing to be woke. Check out this headline. As the holiday season begins there in Portland, Oregon or is underway, what should have been a gathering for cheer is sparking a firestorm of outrage at the city's 41st annual Lighting of Pioneer Courthouse Square. Officials never even said Christmas tree, referring to it only as the tree. Organizers never used the word Christmas with promotional materials also omitting any Christmas themed language. The ceremony opened with a Native American heritage acknowledgement and then a speaker draped in a Palestinian flag led attendees in a free Palestine chair before a holiday carol Santa Claus and the tree lighting finally occurred. Reactions online were immediate and fiery as you can imagine, many even calling the event divisive, accusing the city of stripping a tradition of its religious meaning and turning a family oriented celebration into a political theater. Wow. It's a very different story at the White House though, where President Trump and the First Lady Melania Trump have declared, quote, we are saying Merry Christmas again. We of course want to know what you think about all of this. Let us know on get on Rumble. Hop on. Let your voice be heard. Looking forward to your thoughts. Post God Bless the USA.
David Brody
In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.
Emily Finn
Welcome back to our special Christmas Day edition of American Sunrise. I'm Emily Finn. It's time now for our Moments of Faith brought to us by Lee Greenwood and the God bless the USA Bible. In focus today, the story of St Nicholas, which traces how a humble third century bishop from Myra inspired centuries of legends that evolved into today's Santa Claus. Over time, writers and artists helped shape his modern image, transforming a historic figure into a symbol of generosity and wonder. But there's so much more for that. Let's welcome to American Sunrise Bill Federer, a historian, television and radio host and author of the book There Really Is a Santa Claus History of Saint Nicholas and the Christmas Holiday Traditions. Bill, thank you so much for being with us. Merry Christmas to you. Tell us, how did St. Nicholas become the jolly man in a red suit that we call Santa today? You know, I thought it was Coca Cola that invented the Santa Claus. You got to walk us through how all of this worked out.
David Brody
Well, St. Nicholas is the most popular Greek Orthodox saint. He is to the Greek Orthodox in a way what St. Peter is to Roman Catholics. And so he was born around 280 A.D. in Asia Minor. Today the that's Turkey. And a movement was sweeping through Christianity called monasticism or pietism, where if you really became a Christian, you should follow the rich young ruler's example, give away your money to the poor and then come and join a monastery. And so Nicholas decides he wants to give the money away, but he doesn't want to get the credit for it. So he would sneak into town and throw money in the window of poor people. Supposedly it would land in a shoe or a stocking that's drying by the fireplace. One story became popular. A merchant in the town had gone bankrupt. The creditors were going to come and not only take his house, but take his children. He had three beautiful daughters. He knew if they were taken, it would be a terrible life. So he had an idea. He thought if he could hurry up and marry the daughters off, the creditors couldn't take him. Unfortunately, he did not have money for a dowry which was needed for a legally recognized wedding. Well, late one night, Nicholas throws some money in the window, provides the dower. The oldest daughter gets married, does it for the second daughter. When he does it for the third, the dad's expecting it, runs outside and. And catches Nicholas. And Nicholas makes the father promise not to tell where the money came from because he wanted the credit to go to God and not to him. That's the origin of the tradition of secret gift giving on the anniversary of Nicholas death, which was December 6th of 343 AD. It was later that Martin Luther changed the gift giving to the December 25th.
Emily Finn
So interesting. Bill, you know, I want to take this in a little bit of a different direction here because you mentioned that St. Nicholas was so important to the Greek Orthodox, and we were showing the Greek Orthodox icons of him on the screen. I'm wondering if you saw Pope Leo meeting with the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew recently in Turkey. That was a huge meeting between the two of them. What do you think is going to come of that? They were talking a whole lot about unity with the Catholic Church.
David Brody
Right. Well, so Constantine legalizes Christianity, and Nicholas is let out of jail because he had been in prison. And the story is that the Arian heresy was spreading, and Constantine orders all the bishops to come to Nicaea and settle it. And they do. And the tradition is that Nicholas slapped Arius for starting the Arian heresy. So jolly old St. Nick had a little temper. They had lots of other stories. He calms the sea when there's a storm. Another time, his people were starving, and a ship comes full of grain, and he asks him to unload some to feed his people, promising God would bless them. And on their return trip, they said the grain that was left had multiplied. So there's a lot of miracles that the Greeks attribute to him. But then when Islam invaded into Turkey, they moved the remains of St Nicholas over to Italy in the year 1087. And this introduced them a Little town called Bari. This introduced them to Western Europe. And what we have is the Dutch tradition. So the Dutch do a take on that Jesus will return at the end of the world to judge the living and the dead riding a white horse. The saints will come back with him riding white horses. St. Nicholas is a saint, so he'll be one of those coming back with Jesus. But to the Dutch, he's so special. He gets to come back once a year for a little mini Judgment Day, a little checkup on the kids, see who's naughty, see who's nice. And saints come from where? Heaven. Well, that turns into the North Pole. The angels turn into elves. The Lamb's book of Life and Book of Works turned into the book of the Naughty and the Nice. In Norway, Finland, they had few horses, so he's riding a reindeer. So we can see where it sort of gets a little bit off. But there really is a Saint Nicholas. The Dutch pronunciation of Saint Nicholas is Sant Niclaus. So when you say Santa Claus, you're saying St. Nicholas.
Emily Finn
Well, that is exactly how the Santa Claus name came about. Bill. Really, really cool to see. You know, I want to ask you, it's so, so important to remember the reason for the season, which is faith, which is Jesus. Jesus was born. What is the one thing. What is your Christmas wish? The one thing in terms of faith that you hope people remember this Christmas season?
David Brody
Yeah. So the gospel. God is just, and he can't help it. He's a God of laws, which means he has to judge every sin because if he doesn't judge the sin by default, he'd be giving consent to the sin. And if he gives consent to the sin, he denies his just nature. So he could never be loved back until he came up with a plan. He actually had the plan before he created the first electron. And the plan was his own son would come to Earth, be a man, and take the judge judgment of the sin in our place.
Emily Finn
That's right.
David Brody
So God is just and he judges everything. But he's love. And that he provided the lamb to take the judgment for the sin. The lamb is God's way to get around his own just nature.
Emily Finn
Our God.
David Brody
Our God.
Emily Finn
So sorry to cut you off. Merry Christmas to you. Thank you so much for being on the show with us. We'll see you again soon. We'll be back with more American Sunrise in just a few moments. Stay with us on this Christmas. Ed.

Welcome back to the second hour, everybody, of the special Christmas Day edition of American Sunrise. I'm David Brody coming to you from D.C. let's bring in T. Bates in Denver and Emily Finn filling in for Dr. G on this Christmas day. Good morning to both of you. Merry Christmas. Ho, ho, ho. And a bottle of what? Rum? I don't know. What am I, a pirate? Good morning, Emily.
Emily Finn
Good morning. Good morning. I don't know. Pirates still celebrate Christmas.
Terrence Bates
That's okay, David. I want to celebrate at your house. Boy, you guys get spirited. The first thing came out of your mouth was rum on Christmas. I ain't mad at you. The closest I get is rum cake.
Emily Finn
Terrence, you'll be in charge of the tunes. And David, you're in charge of the refreshments.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Sounds good. Rum and rum cake and fruitcake. Whatever. Whatever you want. I don't care.
Terrence Bates
Speaking of, like, I like fruitcake. I know people make fun of fruitcake. I enjoy fruitcake with a good cup of coffee, Em. Your thoughts, Emmy Rose?
Announcer
Aww, cute.
Emily Finn
Cute. It makes me think of my, my dad, my grandpa, every time you call me Emmy Rose. That's so cute. Fruitcake rocks. Yeah, more of a coffee cake kind of girl. But yeah, definitely. It's like breakfast for me. It's fun. Breakfast. It's better than me too.
Terrence Bates
I enjoy it with coffee. I, you know, I like to just sit down, have a cup with coffee. It really is good to be. Definitely. David. Not a fan. Fan. Okay.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
No, I mean, it's okay. It's okay. Here's what you don't want for Christmas. Here. We got you a fruitcake. I mean, let's be honest. You don't want that.
Announcer
No.
Emily Finn
You want empanadas, right, David?
Terrence Bates
That's correct.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
And plenty of them.
Armin Kurdian
Emily?
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
That is correct.
Terrence Bates
Empanada.
Emily Finn
What kind do you make?
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Fruitcake empanada.
David Brody
No.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Let's see.
Emily Finn
That was good.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Just straight up ground beef. Just straight up ground beef. I'm a traditional type of.
Terrence Bates
You were never, you are never going to live the empanadas thing down. But I'm not going to lie to you, David. I will join you because right after your Thanksgiving empanada thing, I did go like that next weekend to the local empanada shop and order some. And they were good. They were very tasty. So I'm not going to tell anybody else, but that's the one time that I'll admit it. All right, guys, let's get to a couple of quick headlines before we get to our first guest this morning. Americans across the country gathering gathered for Christmas Eve celebrations last night, keeping traditional holiday spirit alive. Families, of course, lit Christmas trees. They sang carols and shared meals. And it reminded everyone that Christmas is all about family, faith and community, not necessarily political correctness. Many of us even headed over to church services. Neighborhood gatherings with friends, homes were spread with joy. And Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving. Local merchants report though, that last minute shoppers picked up gifts and holiday treats keeping Main Street America buzzing. So here's a question for you, though, as you head into this holiday. Are you planning to get to your Christmas Day destination later today? If so, you definitely want to listen up to this because travel across the United States will be a tale of two different weather stories with significant disruptions expected in the the north and smooth sailing for the South. If your plans take you to the Northeast or to the upper Midwest, be prepared for a white Christmas that may actually complicate your travel. Snow is expected to cross those regions along with the eastern Ohio Valley and the lower Great Lakes, meaning that drivers should anticipate slick roads and potential delays. Extra travel time is a must out west, the Pacific Northwest in particular bracing for storms and rain which could also cause air and road travel disruptions. However, for those of you traveling in the southeast, Florida in particular, and along the Atlanta corridor, Atlantic corridor, the forecast is ideal. Expect sunny skies and minimal not participation, but hopefully you will be participating, but precipitation and that's going to make for for smooth flying and driving conditions. While Christmas Day itself is historically one of the lighter air travel days during the holiday week, high overall travel volumes mean that you should still plan ahead and the best advice is to pack a winter emergency kit if you're going to be driving in snowy areas. Also check those local short term forecasts from Weather Nation as well as the National Weather Service before you hit the road. Take we're also still waiting for the final numbers, but this Christmas holiday shopping season is on pace to break records with US retail spending expected to exceed $1 trillion for the first time ever. Consumer expectations were mixed with economic pressures having many people surveyed thinking twice about big purchases. But many still spent and they spent big hoping for deals and discounts. Many people went to the store store and did what they could. Online sales are surging though with record setting traffic and a big push towards e commerce as shoppers grab deals from home for retailers. It was a balancing act though as they pushed early sales deals and digital services while also watching for sluggish spending from cautious consumers. That's a quick check of your Christmas Day forecast. Now let's get you back over to Emmy Road or Emily. I'm sorry Emily, I hope you don't take offense, but I think that is the cutest name. I love that your dad and grandpa called you Emmy Rose. I think it's the cutest name.
Emily Finn
I think that they would agree with you Terrence. Or should I say Terrance? Say I'm loving the nicknames.
Announcer
Loving it.
Emily Finn
So fun. Okay, so this Christmas we are extra thankful to have President Trump back in the White House. Let's welcome to American Sunrise RAB's very own Chief White House correspondent Brian Glenn. Brian First Lady Melania Trump did such a beautiful job decorating the White House this year. Tell us, how is the President's family celebrating?
David Brody
It is an absolute joy to have been at the White House for this year's Christmas celebration. Take a look at your screen right now. The gorgeous decorations of first lady responsible for decorating the White House. And if you remember what it looked like last year under the Biden administration. It was described as a carnival. Well, as you can see right now, the carnival is not at the White House. Christmas trees, joy for this holiday season, even just down to where the tree was purchased, it's all about Christmas. But it's been such a joy to be here at the White House this Christmas season as President Trump has brought back Merry Christmas once again, got rid of the politically correct stuff that was injected the last four years of the White House. But what a joy. And as you can see on your screen right now, it is beautiful. And I encourage everyone, I don't know how long they're going to have the decorations up at the White House, but if you can get to the White House before the end of the year, perhaps you can take that tour. I don't know, you can reach out to the White House, the first lady's office, to schedule your tour of the White House. But my goodness, Merry Christmas to America for sure.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Hey, Brian. So President Trump is, you know, he likes to say he's brought back Christmas, Merry Christmas. And there's a lot of, of truth to that. Obviously, people were saying Merry Christmas when Trump wasn't in office. But that's not his point.
David Brody
Right.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
I mean, he uses hyperbole to make a larger point, which is he's bringing back more of a renaissance of faith and the Christian traditions to America and the way this country was founded. So I think that's a really important aspect to note, and I'm curious to get your views on that aspect of it all.
David Brody
Yeah, David, you're absolutely right. And for the first time, we have a faith office inside the West Wing. Paula White heads that up. So for the think about this, for the first time in history, White House history, there's an office of faith inside that. President Trump, I would imagine, at times will, you know, kind of, I guess, consult with Paula White on issues and topics and, and from a faith perspective, and maybe she can provide some guidance to problems that we have in this world right now and how we should address them.
Terrence Bates
So I think that means that speaks.
David Brody
Volumes to how this administration is leaning into faith. We can all agree at some very difficult times in the world right now, as we've been covering the last couple of weeks, all of the Islamic terrorism that's been going on and just all the violence and the chaos. But a time to have an office of Faith in the White House is awesome. And so I am to applaud President Trump and his entire administration for putting that together.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Just a quick. Brian, just hang on. Tba Just real quick, I just want to say I'm glad you brought that up, Brian, because it's not only in the White House, as you said, it's actually in the West Wing, specifically next near the Oval Office. And as we know in real estate, location, location, location. I mean, proximity is everything. And he wanted it that way. And so I'm glad that that is happening. Okay, T. Bates, go ahead, my friend.
Terrence Bates
Oh, no. Because I wanted to follow up on the spirit of your previous question, David. Brian, are you seeing kind of even around the nation's capital, kind of a return to people saying Merry Christmas and kind of a Christmas spirit as opposed to, to just the Happy Holidays that was tradition for many years, particularly during the Biden administration. Are you seeing a return and kind of a Christmas spirit back in the, in the nation's capital these days? I.
David Brody
Okay. I don't necessarily see more people saying Merry Christmas. You still see a lot of Happy holidays. And I appreciate that, too. When you go to the store, anywhere you go shopping, you meet people, they say it. I'm very appreciative of the fact that they recognize the holiday season. But I will say this, the decorations around not only the White House, but even in the building that we're at right now is decorated in a Christmas theme. And I think that's important to recognize that the city of, you know, the District of Columbia has made an effort to, you know, beautify the city. The lamp post, the signs around the city, the wreaths that are on buildings. I think that's very important. There is a beautiful wreath that's in front of the eob, the Eisenhower Executive Building, where all the offices are at. They've got these magnificent wreaths around the windows and the archways. I think that's important. I think that is a sign that the Trump administration coming in there and saying, look, let's celebrate this holiday season. There's a big menorah on the South Lawn that they have lit up at night, so each of the candles are lit. So that is, it is incredible that this administration is leaning into faith. And so I'm hoping that more people will say Merry Christmas. But if they don't, if they say Happy Holidays, I'm not taking offense to it at all, just going to let it go. And let's give the joy of Christmas and pray for one another as we meet people that may not agree with us. But we can at least say Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, or Happy Hanukkah as well.
Emily Finn
Well, amen to that, Brian. I just have to point out our decorations back here. I don't know if the control room can show it our our Christmas tree, our rev ornaments. We are certainly getting in the Christmas spirit here. We've got the decor all out this year.
David Brody
I love it. No, it's great. You guys have done an amazing job. I don't have much but a really sharp video screen behind me. I think it's but it's look, the joy of Christmas is in this building. It's in this company. Parker and Rob Sig Christians have done a phenomenal job of just keeping this network faith focused on bringing the truth to the people in terms of politics and bringing happiness and joy to people's homes each and every day. I hope that all of us have made an impact in that over the last year being at the White House. And so I certainly want to wish everyone watching us a Merry Christmas. And obviously every you guys in the studio just get a big virtual hug here.
Terrence Bates
Hug it out over there. I love you, man. I love you. Merry Christmas, Brian. But I do, I do love you, man. Hugs to you and the family. Yeah, all hope all is well and enjoy your Christmas, brother.
David Brody
Merry Christmas.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Merry Christmas.
David Brody
Happy Haunted.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Yes. Or as Joe Biden would say, happy Easter, Brian. All right, back with more special Christmas Day edition of American Z Rise in just a moment.

Welcome back to our Christmas Day special edition of American Sunrise. I'm Emily Finn. It is time now to drain the swamp. And today we're starting with the swamp's Christmas Naughty or Nice List. And let's just say D.C. is sweating like Adam Schiff under oath. First, the nice list, guaranteed to trigger a citywide TBS meltdown. President Trump back at the sleigh, putting America first, stacking so much coal for globalists they'll need a shovel and a support group. Next, border hammer Tom Homan. He's certainly on the Nice List, clearing out every violent criminal legal alien who belongs nowhere near Christmas or the coal supply they keep earning. And representative Jim Jordan grilling swamp elves so hard they're coughing up coal before they even ask for a lawyer. Now let's dive into the Naughty List, overflowing like the border they let collapse on purpose. The coal is stacked high and we're just getting started. First up, Cryin Chuck Schumer. More finger wagging than a Karen at Target and about as useful as a traffic cone in a collapsed tunnel. He's produced less than a broken elf workshop, yet still manages to demand more coal. Adam Schiffy Schiff. He's also on the Naughty List, the man who could read a holiday card and open a Russian investigation. He sees disinformation in everything except his own reflection. Which is why Santa set aside a special bag of coal just for him. And we can't forget aoc, the influencer who accidentally got elected. She posts, she poses, she lectures, and still earns more coal than a newsome blackout. The verdict this year in Washington, the Naughty List is so long that even Tom Holman is asking for reinforcements. And Santa just ran out of coal. All right, we do want to know what you think. All of our viewers. Let us know on YouTube. Rumble or getters, hop on and let your voice be heard. We'll be back with more of this special Christmas Day edition of American Sunrise in just a moment. David Brody, Look, I mean, this is such an important. It's not just a song, right? It's a movement, and it's from the heart. And it really kind of goes to what we've been talking about on this show and really, quite frankly, real America's voice ever since the get go, which is it's all about freedom and all about making sure that there's justice. T. Bates.
Terrence Bates
Yeah, no, absolutely. And this song has already really surged up the charts. It's really a thing of beauty, and it's something that we encourage everyone to kind of get on with. This project actually flips the script. It shows what patriots and that patriots still have a voice. And if we happen to come together, we can really take this all the way to number one on the Billboard charts. That is the ultimate goal, Dr. Gina. And I'm confident it's gonna get there.

Welcome back to American Sunrise. I'm Emily Finn, filling in for Dr. Gina. Thank you for joining us this Christmas morning. We invite you to join the conversation on YouTube. Getter and rumble. Time now to take the political pulse of America in the beat today. America's Christmas Renewal Millions of families are praying this Christmas morning and you can feel it. A renewal is taking shape. Families gathering with gratitude despite hard times. Communities volunteering, giving and serving one another. Churches filled with people praying for peace here at home and around the world. Some believe our national comeback has already started. Others are still waiting to see it. But America's Christmas renewal is real. You see it in our faith, our resilience and our refusal to give up on this country. And even now, the world still looks to the United States for leadership, strength, and hope. The spirit that built this nation is alive this Christmas, a reminder that America can rise first and light the way for others. Let's bring in David and Terrence on all of this. David, your thoughts? This is just so beautiful. I love Christmas. It's a great holiday.
David Brody
It is.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
You know, governments come and go, but this country will survive if pastors are going to speak up from the pulpit in this country and be bold. That's the truth this Christmas and every Christmas, quite frankly. You know, back in the day in the revolutionary wartime, there was the black robe regiment. Those were pastors, clergy that said, you know what? We're going to stand up to the British monarchy and we're going to go out and fight on the battlefield. And then what they did is not only did they fight, but in the pulpits, they were talking about the cultural and ideological and moral issues of the day, and they were not afraid to back down. We need more pastors out there that are going to talk to folks in the pew about getting out there and being bold with their faith and with action that goes behind it. And I think that's the way to turn around America that will lead to spiritual revival.
Terrence Bates
David, I'm going to piggyback on what you said, but take it a little to the right. And I'm going to say governments come and go, but Jesus is eternal and we need to root ourselves. Lawmakers in particular, need to root policy in Jesus teachings and in biblical. Biblical theory. That's what I would say. I would just add that and we'll leave it there.
Emily Finn
Well, let's welcome to American Sunrise and open this discussion up a little bit further to Donna Feduccia and Don Noonan, the co hosts of Cowboy Logic for us here, Unreal America's voice. Great to see you guys, as always. Love the hat. Love the matching red looks. You guys look very festive for Christmas. How are you celebrating?
Donna Feduccia
Well, you know, we. We're in the Atlanta area where I just kind of looked and it's like in the 60s. But we're going to be heading up to Wisconsin to see Don's parents. Just a few hours from the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field. And they sent us pictures of their mailbox with the snow piled up just below the mailbox. I'm like, like, why? But, you know, it's all about family, Emily. And we're so thankful that Don's dad and mom are still with us at Don's dad's gonna be 92.
Emily Finn
Oh, wow.
Donna Feduccia
Actually celebrate his 92nd birthday.
David Brody
We're go up there and carbon 14, date him just to see how exactly old he is. But he's getting up there.
Donna Feduccia
And, you know, we're thankful for five years on rev. This is our fifth anniversary on Real America's Voice. You know, coming down from the New York area, covering news there for, you know, decades. I date myself, I wanted to raise horses. We came down here. It's Don's fault. And then we just said, you know, we have a nation to save, and there's no better network to do it on than Real America's Voice. We're trying to preserve this country for our kids and our grandchildren, and there's just no other network that's better at doing that, in my opinion, than Real America's Voice. And it's an honor to be on this network.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Absolutely. You know, you mentioned the fifth anniversary being on RAD. We're also, of course, approaching the fifth anniversary of January 6th. And I'd be curious to kind of get your thoughts of, you know, where we're, where we are on that, and especially during this Christmas holiday where, look, so many lives have been changed and not necessarily for the better, clearly. Yeah.
David Brody
Well, we're going to do a Christmas special this year again in which we feature J6ers that are actually now home for the first time to be able to celebrate Christmas since January 6th. And we've got eight. Eight of them that we're going to be having on. It'll be a very uplifting show. But I got to tell you guys what Donna and I want for Christmas with regard to January 6th, and that is because there are still J Sixers that have not been pardoned. They were commuted. You're going to see a lot of them on the. On the Christmas special that's going to air this weekend. The thing is, we need. We need RAV support on this. We need the RAV reporters that are in the Oval Office. With President Trump asking this question, when will the rest of the J6ers be pardoned? And the reason that we need RAV to do this in the Oval Office is because we can't get around that bubble that's surrounding Trump. I don't think he understands that Joe Biggs, a combat vet, no violent charges on January 6th 6th, double Purple Heart recipient, has not been pardoned and still to this date does not have any military benefits. Yeah, that's.
Donna Feduccia
That's the problem. And the thing is, most people don't realize all it was is the Deep State targeting the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers. They're like the insurrectionists. And this, I think, opened people's eyes to even a bigger picture, like the. The RAV special, the sleeping giant that's coming out. This is exactly what's happening. We're seeing. It's not just, you know, on January 6th. We're seeing it in so many cases. All of the lawfare going on against people who are just patriotic people who are just. Well, it's the populism, the populist movement, and how the Deep State is still trying to keep everybody down, who wants to speak out and squelch the freedom of speech, and that is you.
David Brody
The only people that have not been pardoned on this are Oath Keepers and Proud Boys, none of which had violent charges. We've got to pass this football to our RAV reporters and correspondents that can get in that White House and can get through, permeate this bubble that's surrounding President Trump. Because I think President Trump would do something immediately if he knew that he had military combat veterans that were being denied their military benefits because they were only commuted and not pardoned. That's our Christmas for 2024.
Terrence Bates
Don and Donna, I wanted to ask you to give us a report card on President Trump in the second term, but I'm going to set that to the side real quick. I'd like you to give us a report card specifically on Republican lawmakers in Capitol Hill, both in the House and Senate. Senate, who promised transparency when it came to J6 who promised an investigation. And I question whether that's really happened. I see you shaking your head, Don, and sitting. Let's not.
David Brody
Let's not put a turd in the punch bowl here, okay? Because that's exactly where you're going to take me with this. Terrence. I have been unloading. I am.
Terrence Bates
I know it, Don. You know, I keep it.
David Brody
I'm not gonna say it. I'm not gonna ruin Christmas for everybody.
Terrence Bates
You know me well. I'm gonna keep it real. And I want real, honest conversation. I'll allow you to be diplomatic if you choose, but I think it's a fair conversation to have, particularly on the back of what we just talked about and these commutations and J6ers who are still suffering. I think it's fair. I get it's Christmas and all.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
You can start.
Terrence Bates
And I'll be the close.
David Brody
I'll be the relief picture.
Donna Feduccia
More bleeps in the last couple of years.
David Brody
I promise I will not say anything that has to be edited out. I promise you that.
Donna Feduccia
But again, you guys, it's the bigger picture. Look at what Thune is doing and.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
What Johnson is doing.
Donna Feduccia
Okay, during the summer, we could have had recess appointments. No, he had people come back every couple of days, so the recess appointments couldn't go through.
David Brody
Through.
Donna Feduccia
Now we want to nuke the filibuster, which you know darn well the left is going to do if they get back in to push for actual voting on election Day with id, with, you know, so no illegals can vote. And that's not going to happen. And they keep saying, well, we're following tradition. Well, tradition got US $38 trillion in debt among everything else. These leaders are just trying to go along to get along, thinking they can ride out President Trump's presidency and then it'll just be back to normal with the Republicans laying down and the Democrats running roughshod. As Steve Bannon says, they play smash mouth. And I always say the Democrats circle the wagons, the Republicans eat their young. So that's.
Terrence Bates
John, I'm going to let you three.
Donna Feduccia
Letter agencies got to go.
Terrence Bates
I'm going to let you off the hook on this Christmas Day. I'm not going to hold your feet to the fire, but I am going to have you give me your report card for President Trump. How about that?
David Brody
President Trump is scoring all A's, and a few members of his Cabinet are scoring all A's. Tulsi Gabbard, Pete Hegseth. Well, Tom's not member of the Cabinet, but he's kicking ass and taking names. But I'm going to tell you, this man has got himself surrounded by people that are preventing him from doing exactly what all of them us elected him to do.
Terrence Bates
Yeah.
David Brody
And don't even let me get near Congress and talk about this on Christmas Day. I do not want to ruin this day for everybody. But you people are doing a pathetically terrible job.
Donna Feduccia
Well, I think Congress needs to realize in the Senate that 78 million people elected Donald Trump and the populist movement. We didn't elect a Republican Party, okay? And they just want to just keep.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Going along to get along.
Donna Feduccia
And people are frustrated. I mean, it's getting ridiculous, but yes. Otherwise, the three letter agencies need to be gutted. CIA, FBI, doj. Give them an F minus.
Emily Finn
F minus for sure. Well, let's put these frustrations aside, and I hope you guys have a great Christmas. Hope you have a great celebration.
Terrence Bates
Hey, listen, Don and Donna love it.
David Brody
You put Sidney Powell in his aggression and put that in a little note in my stocking. I'm a happy guy on Christmas Day.
Emily Finn
All right, well, Merry Christmas. Don and Donna, thank you so much for being on the show with us. We have more American Sunrise Merry Christmas coming up in just a moment, but we also wanted to highlight our new RAB Ambassadors program. Here's a little preview.
David Brody
What if watching real America's voice was just the beginning? Introducing RAB Ambassadors, the new grassroots platform that turns out viewers into leaders, connecting directly with hosts like Steve Bannon, Dr. Gina and more.

Let's spill some Tea.
Emily Finn
All right, let's spill some tea. Fueled by our dinner Artillery Tea Company, the only America first veteran owned tea brand and their mission to maximize flavor with whole leaf blends and chemical free teabags. No junk, just real tea. And here's the tactical each bag brews twice. Just go to artilleryteaco.com and use the code RAV for 10% off your first order. Again, that's artilleryteaco.com, premium tea, mission driven and brewed for the brave. It is time now to spill some tea on this special Christmas 2025 edition of American Sunrise. And what's in the cup on such a special day? Every single piece you needed to finish a Christmas gift that was nowhere to be found. You know, the battery pack that vanished, the one screw that disappeared into another dimension. The instruction sheet written by someone who clearly hates you. Because nothing says Merry Christmas like spending two hours trying to assemble a gift that claims it takes 10 minutes and realizing the elves have unionized. And look, at some point in that process, we all ask the same heartbreaking question. When did I stop believing in Santa Claus? Probably right around the moment that you opened the box and found out half the parts were back ordered until Easter. Let's bring in Terrence and David for this one. You know, Terrence, have you ever lost just one part of a gift and suddenly you're the Grinch who ruined Christmas? Does that ever happen to you?
David Brody
You?
Terrence Bates
No. Because I'm willing to pay the extra 15 bucks to have somebody assemble it for me. I am all about paying the extra money to have somebody do it for me. I tell my wife all the time. That's why I work every day, so that I can get the extra. The extra help and I don't have to deal with that headache. I did it once. We bought our girls a. It was like a kitchen set, and I had to build it myself, and it was. Was shaky, and I just did not do it well. And after that, they were probably three years old. I was like, yeah, I'll pay the extra money to have somebody build it for me. I'm just willing to invest that money, David. That's just me.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Well, I respect you even more now. Good for you. Good for you. I would do the exact same thing. Listen, Christmas morning is so special. You wake up all the presents, the kids, and then reality hits, which is you got to build the stuff, and it's like, oh, my gosh, no, no. Christmas taking a very dark turn by 11am it's not good, but anyhow. No, it's. It's fine. You know, you get through it. Look, I grew up Jewish, right? So I didn't have to worry about this. We had eight nights of Hanukkah. I got, like, some Hanukkah gelt, which is money. I got some Hanukkah chocolate. I got a pack of cards and some socks, and that's about it. That's what you. You know, it's eight nights of Hanukkah. You don't get much, but it's fine. You just. I'm starting to talk like this. Oi. I feel like I'm complaining now. I'm going back to my roots.
Terrence Bates
Anyhow, Emily, I just realized that my. That my kids are apparently Jewish because everything David described getting is what I get year in and year out. A pack of socks and cards. I have some chocolate. I get that year in, a year out.
Emily Finn
That's hilarious. That's hilarious. You know, my gift is me. I come home to Michigan to see my parents or travel to go see them. And that obviously costs money. So I am the present. I am the gift. So your kids are doing much better than me, Terrence.
Terrence Bates
Well, you know what, Emily? Seriously, as a dad to girls, I will tell you that seeing my babies and when they leave for school and come home, that will be be the best gift ever. That would be all I'd ever need, just seeing my babies and be able to spend time with them. So as a dad, and I'm probably speaking for your dad, seeing his Emmy Rose is probably the best gift ever.
Emily Finn
Aw. That is so, so sweet. He always says that. He says it doesn't matter what we're doing as long as we're together.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
That's awesome.
Terrence Bates
I get it.

We were like three stooges here this morning. Please.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Sorry to interrupt.
Emily Finn
No, that was awesome. Well, families around the world are celebrating celebrating this season with a variety of longtime Christmas traditions. Many households mark the holiday by gathering for special meals, exchanging gifts, decorating their homes. Others are keeping cherished customs alive. From attending candlelight services to hosting annual neighborhood events, community leaders say these traditions continue to bring people together and Highlight the spirit of connection during the holidays. David, Terrence, I want to talk about some Christmas traditions. I know we've been mentioning them throughout the show. Is there anything in particular that you always look forward to doing for Christmas?
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Well, I mentioned Chinese food on Christmas Day, but actually on Christmas Eve, we get the whole family together and we cook big breakfast, like a brunch, if you will. Traditional brunch, if you will. And that's really fun. I said to get everybody together. It's the whole family. You know, we have two sons and a daughter, and our middle son has two children. I'm sorry, let me rephrase that. We have two grandchildren. And then. And they are six and three. So they are with us. And gosh, they are the highlight for sure. Sorry, kids, but the grandkids are the highlight now.
David Brody
And.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
And then our oldest son is expecting with him and his wife, their first. I'm sorry, I should say our first grandchild with them. So that'd be three. So we all get together and have a great old time and then we go to a big Christmas Day movie. No, we don't see Die Hard horror T. Bates, but we see a fun Christmas movie.
Terrence Bates
So I've got bones to pick with you, David. I'm sorry. It's Christmas morning and I still got bones to pick. When is the baby due? This is the first I'm hearing of this.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Yes. You really want, you want to know the answer? Oh, my gosh. I can't believe I'm going to say this. The due date is January 6th. Now, here's the thing, okay?
Terrence Bates
So my son is like, it's a born patriot.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
That's not happening. Yeah, we're good at now. It's. Yeah, I think so. I don't know. Maybe there's an inducement situation going on on January 5th. I don't know. Bottom line is first week in January.
Terrence Bates
First week. Congratulations, David. Congratulations. I. I had no idea until just now that I was like, huh?
David Brody
What?
Terrence Bates
This baby. So congratulations to you.
David Brody (alternate or co-host)
Thank you.
Terrence Bates
You know, Emmy, you were asking about our traditions. And as our. As my girls get older, our traditions change. Obviously. You know, when they are kids, there are certain traditions that tend to revolve around their gifts and making sure that they're happy. And now that they're teenagers and we're starting to look forward to their future, our traditions are really becoming more about experiences together. And so last year, what we did, we watched Christmas movies, like just all kinds of Christmas movies all break long. And this year, that's what they're excited about. They're like, I can't wait to sit and watch Christmas movies. And some of the movies we watched last year now have sequels and they're like, oh, we're gonna watch the sequel. So that's what we're excited.
Emily Finn
It's all about experiences. I'm sure your girls are gonna just. I absolutely love Christmas with you, Terrence. You are such a great dad. That is so cool.
Announcer
So cool.
Terrence Bates
Thank you so much.
Emily Finn

This special holiday episode wraps the news of the day in warmth, nostalgia, and spirited debate—mixing deep faith, conservative politics, cultural critique, and heartfelt personal stories. There’s a recurring theme that the restoration of faith, family, and "real" American values is both possible and urgently needed, and the show positions itself and its network as central to that renewal. The tone, while occasionally combative on politics, is mostly jovial, humorous, and inviting—anchored by a shared sense of purpose around Christmas and patriotism.
