Ahead on American Sunrise EARLY edition. Nice try. Maduro a sanction. The Russian Venezuelan oil tanker flies a false flag in hopes of avoiding SEIZURE by the U.S. coast Guard. But the jig is up and now the tanker is being pursued on the high seas mateys. More Epstein files are released, but there's just more finger pointing between Democrats and Republicans over whose reputation is more damaged by this whole mess. Also, some files are now missing. What a mess. Speaking of messes, Governor Tim Walls tries to downplay the massive Somali community shaking down of the state's welfare funding. But the fact emerging and the facts that are emerging just keep getting worse. Another infuriating scandal is unfolding in Georgia. Whether it's now really an undisputed fact that 315,000 ballots in the 2020 election were never properly handled or certified properly, but they were still counted. Joe Biden supposedly won that state by fewer than 12,000 votes by the way. And I'm a fan of self driving cars. You all know that. But even I got to admit this is a big problem. When the power goes out, so do the cars in the middle of the street, in the middle of traffic. It really happened this weekend. American Sunrise EARLY EDITION begins now.

American Sunrise Early EDITION with your host Jake Novak starts now.
Jake Novak
Welcome to this Monday here on American Sunrise, early Edition. I'm Jake Novak, and as if I didn't need another reminder of how much of a nobody I am, I am nowhere to be found. No names, no pictures, no references to me anywhere in the Epstein files at all. There's, you know, I mean, again, I'm just a total nobody. It seems like everybody is mentioned at least. I mean, even the freaking Pope is in there. I mean, it's unbelievable. But I am nobody. And I'm happy to bring you the news as a nobody. Welcome. Joining us right now is someone who's not a nobody. He's the senior editor at the Daily Signal. His name is Tyler o', Neill, is also the author of a really good book called Woke to Puss, which you should pick up. Would make a great stocking stuffer, depending on how big your stockings are. Sometimes books don't go in there, so just make sure you got something that fits. Tyler, I want to first talk about this Minnesota scandal, because waste in government is something that you certainly know a lot about. And to me, this is obviously not just about Minnesota. There have been a lot of people who've been writing online. I think very presciently that if you think that Minnesota is a bad story, what do you find out about all the other blue states out there where this is going on? And probably some red states, too. The sacking of the government, the emptying of the treasury, not only for people who listen. We grew up in America, people of my generation hearing about welfare cheats and welfare queens and stuff like that. And that was bad enough, but I think a lot of us were willing to swallow that. But the funneling of our money to foreign terrorist organizations, the funneling of billions of dollars, this isn't just someone getting a free lunch every once in a while. This, I think, is a probably 30 to 40 state scandal in America.
Tyler O'Neill
One if you run the numbers. I mean, the Minnesota scandal, we just had six more people arrested. The amount of money that's. That was abused here is leading up to about $6 billion. And if you were to just take all that money and immediately give it to those who were poor, who couldn't, who ostensibly couldn't afford food, each person at this point, with this amount of money, each person would be getting at least 174 grand. That's what we're talking about here. So this is a scandal of monumental proportions. And of course, there are a lot. Most of the people who are char. Charged and convicted in the scandal are Somalis in Minnesota. So you know that that said there were many of the whistleblowers in this case are also from the Somali community. So I think it's important to say both things there. But I think we have a serious problem with the Somali community in Minnesota. It's an insulated community. It tends to be very high majority Muslim. And, you know, a lot of these, you know, it's from an area, a country that has had piracy that has been almost synonym with piracy for a very long time, that also has this radical terrorist group, Al Shabaab, Radical Islam is there. And then as you said, this is, this is a problem in many different states. So in California, it's also billions of dollars that have been wasted for this. Part of this, I think, was almost orchestrated the way that the Biden administration shoveled money out the door with all these Covid relief programs. And, you know, we have to get to the bottom of how much fraud and abuse there was. I, I've been shocked to see more and more and more revealed during this first year of the Trump administration how horrible things were in the Biden administration. I think this should be an albatross around the necks of Democrats for a long time going forward. And I think Republicans too, have to show stomach to say we are going to hold people accountable. We are going to make sure our money is not wasted.
Jake Novak
You know, I'd like to talk just for one second about messaging here, too. As outrageous as it is, I would advise all Republicans or all citizens who are really concerned about this, don't parade out the taxpayers and the business owners who had their money stolen. They absolutely did have their money stolen from this. And I get that. But the way to really make an impact with this message, the real travesty here is to we should bring out the people who, who are really, truly disabled, sick and unable to work in this country because they are dealing with some real, real problems and look and point to them and say, these people had their benefits stolen. These people could be living a life of dignity, a much better life, not having to beg. And really that's. I want to fully fund the truly, truly needy, not give out a little something to everyone in exchange for votes. That's who we should be focusing on here, not the business owners, not the taxpayers. Yes, they had their money stolen, but we get that. I want to talk about the people who really had their, their, their, their decency stolen from them.
Tyler O'Neill
Yeah, I think that's a very important point. I also think it's important to note that I think that number of people is a lot smaller than many government figures suggest. Because we have so many people who are trying to abuse the system who will count themselves. I mean, the biggest thing we recently saw was the way that the Biden administration tried to smuggle in transgender identity as a disability in order to cover so called gender affirming care and to make sure that when somebody like President Trump came into office and wanted to bring sanity to our health, our health care system, he wasn't able to do so because the medical, you know, the disability act would have prevented him from cutting off this so called treatment. There are so many different abuses to the way that our system works, and it really does get in the way of giving concrete aid and succor to those who really are needy.
Jake Novak
That's right. Just, it's a small number of people and I think they should live like kings. Small number of people who really, truly need help, who cannot help themselves. I think they should be given incredible, incredible benefits because there is nothing that, that they, they cannot function in our society, but they definitely have a value to so much to so many of us. They should be living like great, like, like really a very comfortable life because that's, that's what charity really is, not stealing it from them and giving it to every. Tom, Dick and Harry Tyler, I have to ask you a question. Are you interested in a Venezuelan oil tanker? I can get one for you cheap. Because we've already seized two and we're going after another one. Maduro in Venezuela tried to fly another country's flag over another sanctioned tanker over the weekend. Now the Coast Guard's going after it. All kidding aside, you know, look, we don't want to get into the business of regime change if that means troops or bombings and things like that. But if all it takes is for us to seize tankers that have already been sanctioned by other administrations, including ours, and that somehow brings down this regime, which is a terrible regime, what's wrong with that?
Tyler O'Neill
Yeah, I think the key here is we're enforcing our sanctions. So this is another situation, like in the first administration where, where President Trump really put the screws on Iran and said, you know, we've had these sanctions against Iran, they essentially weren't used. And now I'm coming into office and I'm using the sanctions against Iran. And that maximum pressure campaign was one of the things that led so many Gulf states, so many Arab states to sign on to the Abraham Accords, because they saw in President Trump a United States president who was really willing to challenge Iran, who is the major threat in that region. So I think here, similarly, we have a president who is actually enforcing the sanctions against Venezuela, this horrible Maduro regime, that if we were God, we'd say, oh, yeah, I want the Venezuelan regime to fall. I don't know if we. I don't think we should necessarily be involved in the business of regime change. But Venezuela has been abusing its people. I mean, the Maduro regime has been horrific for years and years. And it is high time that we do everything we can at least to enforce the sanctions against them and to give the people of Venezuela a chance, if they will eventually take it, to eventually wrest off this regime.
Jake Novak
Yeah, and let's not fall for the false choice saying like, well, the only way to get regime change is for us to get really involved. But no, just cut off their oil business, which behooves the whole world, they're sending oil to terrorists and things like that. That's not a direct challenge to the civil society or anything else like that. All the libertarians can just sit down. It's really not that if this is what brings down the regime, it'll be of their own doing because they were doing something illegal on the free economic market. Finally, Tyler, I want to ask you about this because you've been at the center of an interesting story in the last few days. You are the nation's best expert, in my opinion, on the Southern Poverty Law Center, a very falsely named organization. It is a leftist organization, an anti American organization, and one that smears decent people all the time. And the Congressional Black Caucus is trying to stop you, was trying to stop you from testifying about that group in Congress. Tell us where we are with this situation and what's going on. Yeah.
Tyler O'Neill
Thank you. So the main thing here is that you have the Congressional Black Caucus and 270 leftist groups who signed these letters asking the committee not to hold the hearing, that thankfully, Chip Roy did not yield to pressure and did hold the hearing anyway this past week. But I wasn't aware of just how big the pressure campaign was to try to silence this hearing. And I think this speaks volumes because these Democrats said in the Congressional Black Caucus letter and then in the letter with 270 different organizations, many of which are in the woke to puss of president course, which I exposed in my book. So perhaps this shouldn't be that big of a surprise. But they all said that going after the Southern Poverty Law center, that having a committee investigate the Southern Poverty Law center was a threat to civil society and was engaging in demonizing dissent, which, you know, I found so ironic as essentially to be Orwellian, because what we see in the Southern Poverty Law center is an organization, the worst organization in America, in my opinion, for demonizing dissent and going after civil society groups, so long as they tend to be opposed to the SPLC's agenda. So what we had last week was the opportunity to expose just how egregious the Southern Poverty Law Center's bias is, just how horrible it is for conservative groups to be put on this hate map with chapters of the kkk. I was testifying alongside a man from Turning Point usa, which, of course, earlier this year, the SPLC put Turning Point USA on the hate map. And then we had the Charlie Kirk assassination. And Tony Perkins from the Family Research Council. And the Family Research Council faced a bona fide terrorist threat, an attack that thankfully was mostly blocked, but in 2012, where a man came in there planning to shoot everyone in the building and smear a Chick fil a sandwich in their face. And he said he used the SPLC map to find them. And so to see Democrats here going on and on about civil society as though bringing accountability to the SPLC were the same thing as cracking down on dissent from the Trump administration, it really strains credulity. Because the SPLC here, its problem isn't the fact that it disagrees with Trump. Its problem is the fact that it routinely defames conservatives, Christians, and even. Even those who are in the middle of the road who just oppose the SPLC's agenda. We have very nonpartisan doctors, and then we have an LGB group that's put on there as an anti LGBTQ hate group because they oppose Drag Queen Story Hour. That's how far off the reservation the SPLC is. And it is beyond the pale that the Biden administration worked hand in glove with the SPLC for four years. We deserve more truth and accountability from what happened there. And we need to make sure that if there ever is a Democrat administration again, they will think twice that the SPLC is so radioactive they won't come anywhere near, citing that horrific smear factory.
Jake Novak
Yeah, they really hurt some people's lives. And again, there is just a certain type of person in this country that can't have a political disagreement without demonizing their opponent as being completely out of bounds and excommunicated. It goes to my theory about how there's no such thing as a non religious person. And there's a lot of people who are not religious, but they're so politically active and they act like religious fundamentalists in their politics and the SPLC is one of those places. Tyler o', Neill, thank you so much for fighting the good fight against the SPLC and a bunch of other things. Have a great Christmas. We'll see you in we'll probably see in the New Year. Thank you so much. Thanks so much for having me. Okay, coming up, who is running the official social media accounts for the Senate Democrats? I'd like to know because whoever it is, they keep posting dubious claims only to be fact checked publicly every single time. I'll have the latest on their despicable M.O. which I've seen before by the way. And later, it turns out self driving cars have a fatal flaw. And no, it's not the fact that they can't extend a middle finger in traffic. I'll tell you what happened in San Francisco this weekend. American Sunrise Early Edition will continue.

That's a live look at Cincinnati, Ohio in the foreground. The bridge is to Covington, Kentucky or to Cincinnati, depending on which way you're going. Still dark there in that. A little bit further west than I am right now. So they don't have the sun rise quite yet over Cincinnati and Kentucky right now. Hey folks, this is like clockwork. This keeps happening. The Senate Democrats on their social media site post a crazy claim about ICE doing something terrible. Throwing granny off the cliff, doing something. The latest one is this one where they talk about, hey, there's a lot more deaths in ICE custody this year. They must be killing them in custody now. It turns out that there are like 10, 20, 30 times the number of people in ICE custody this year. And it's the same very, very low percentage. I think it's zero, zero, five or six zeros. And then a 7% of people die in custody. By the way, that's the percentage in any situation. Emily Finn. They keep getting fact checked. There's someone from ICE who keeps coming back and tweeting immediately. They're watching these guys. I mean, if this were you and you kept getting fact checked, like, wouldn't you be ashamed? I mean, they keep getting it wrong, and it's clear that they're just looking to incite a riot or something like that and then go and hide. That's great. Governing isn't.
Unrivaled Basketball Promo Announcer
Doesn't make any sense. And I think ashamed is the perfect word because it's very clearly that they're lying about this. And this is not the first time I'm thinking about Statist from months ago where DHS had to come out, they were talking about rounding up the grannies, and it's like, no, 90% or I think it was even higher than 90%, are known criminals that they're going after. They're doing the right thing. They're doing exactly what President Trump had promised during the campaign, what he ran on. And so it's crazy to have them lying about all of this. I think they may have hired Ilhan Omar to be in charge of their fact checking because that's how pathetic these lies are. So hopefully, you know, the American people will continue to see through this because in their neighborhoods, they see the safety that is being improved all around them from what ICE is doing.
Jake Novak
You don't know how right you are with that Ilhan Omar comment. This is the same MO as the Palestinian cause they publish. Oh, Israel just bombed a hospital. Oh. It turns out it was the parking lot in front of the hospital. Two people got killed and they were terrorists. I mean, this happens every day to Israel. I've seen this for years. It's probably the same people, there's probably a little bit of overlap who do this. They know how to do it. You're exactly right about that, Emily. Totally have to cut it short because our last segment went a little bit long. But we will see you from 8 to 10. And if I don't see you after that, I want to wish you a Merry Christmas. Thank you so much.

All right, from a nice comment. Now I have to be blunt. Let me be blunt. Gold is up around 40% this year. That's not speculation, that's reality. It's also mathematics. And if a portion of your savings isn't diversified into gold, you're missing the boat. Here are the facts. Inflation is still too high, the US Dollar is still too weak, and the government debt is insurmountable. Have a nice day. This is why central banks are flocking to gold. They're the ones driving prices up to record highs. But it's not too late to buy gold from Birch Gold Group and get in the door. Now. Welcome back to American Sunrise. Early editions. Check out where the markets are going to begin. They call. There are a lot of people who are real sticklers about the term Santa Claus rally. They say if the markets are up for all of December, that's not a Santa Claus rally. They say it's only this last last week of trading that includes Christmas Day. So here we go. We're up and we've had updates for a couple days now and we had a nice day on Friday. So it looks like we're going to be higher. Look at crude oil creeping up just a little bit now back up near the 58 a barrel level. But still, of course, way, way down from what we've seen in recent years. And now let's take a look at bitcoin and see if it's having a rally too. Again, way down from the 125 all time high, but back at 90,000. So that's an acceptable, pretty respectable mark. Again, if you bought bitcoin down at that low at 81,000 a couple of weeks ago, you've made well over 10% on your money. So this happened on Friday. Check it out. As of today, 14 out of the 17 largest pharmaceutical companies, but they've all agreed, have now agreed to drastically lower drug prices for their American patients. For the American people and patients, this represents the greatest victory for patient affordability in the history of American healthcare by far. And every single American will Benefit. So this is the biggest thing ever to happen on drug pricing and on health care. Oh, I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, oh no, those big pharma companies had to lower their prices dramatically. Their stocks must be crashing. They're going to hurt my 401k. I know you're probably not caring that much about big pharma, but in case you were, don't worry. All of the big pharma shares were up on Friday on this news. They're looking pretty good this morning in the pre market for the most part as well. And the reason are a couple of reasons for this. One is, look, they're going to make up for some of these losses in volume. More people now are going to be able to buy these drugs and they'll make money in that way and that will cover some of those losses. But there's another reason. When RFK Jr. Was named health and Human Services Secretary, they were really, really worried. In big pharmacy suites all over the world. They really thought that this anti pharma guy was going to come in and clean their clocks. I think that a big reason why President Trump appointed RFK Jr. Was to get just that reaction out of them so that they would come to the table with a deal like this thinking that they got away with murder. We're going to cut these prices. We might take a hit for a while, but we'll live to fight another day. Meanwhile, millions of Americans who are on listening, listen, some of the big pharma products I'm not a big fan of, I'm sure you're not either, but can we admit that some of them are definitely needed for people? There are a lot of people who rely on that stuff and to get a 50, 60, 70% discount on those drugs. Thank you. And I really think that this had a lot to do with putting RFK Jr in that position and scaring the heck at a lot of these guys in these C suites at the big pharma companies. And don't worry, they'll be okay. I don't think anyone's crying over them. But in case you were, don't. They'll be fine. All right. Oracle has had a year. Oracle, the big software company, now a big AI company. It has been one of the wildest trades on Wall street all year. Now it's still up 15 for the year, which is not too shabby. But as recently as September it was up something like, you know, well over 100 for the year. Well, I think that after all that AI related volatility in their stock. Something happened to them last week, which might be the most valuable move of all. And that is. Oracle is one of the. It's really the lead company, lead American company taking over TikTok. Now, love or hate TikTok, folks, it is an incredibly valuable property. They you can spend three hours of your day scrolling through TikToks and not even realize how much time you've just wasted. It's an addictive social media platform. There's a lot of problems with it. The Chinese influence some of the things that they have done politically. I get all of the problems there, believe me. I'm not not cheerleading tick tock in a good or a bad way. I'm just stating the facts. This is an incredibly valuable property that Oracle now controls. Not too shabby for Oracle. And their shares were up a lot on Friday when that deal was finalized. And again, if you're an Oracle investor this year, and maybe you took some of those profits at the end of the summer, in the beginning of September, you've done really, really well. And even if you didn't, you're still up 15 for the year. You should live and be well. All right. The company that invented the Roomba self vacuum cleaner is now bankrupt. It's called iRobot. They are bankrupt. So of course you're going to be seeing a lot of out of work Roombas on the streets collecting migrant money. No, I'm just kidding. Also, I think some of those Roombas are illegal immigrants. Okay, I'm also still kidding. But if you do happen to own a Roomba, I just. I'm here to tell you, don't worry, they're not going to be out of work or deported. They will still work. However. However, there is going to be a Chinese company that's going to be taking over most of the operations of this company. So you might be wondering about maybe those Roombas spying on you. And if you think I'm crazy, we all know that of course our iPhones and our galaxy phones spy on us. That's been documented. So I don't see why a Roomba wouldn't. Unless you have a really old model. Anyway, Roomba will still work for you. Don't worry about it. Okay, ladies and gentlemen, start your engines. This is moving America. Sponsored by ArtilleryTea Co. Artilleryteaco.com promo code RAV for 10% off your order. All right, check it out everybody. The national average gasoline price in America is Now down to $2.85 a gallon for a regular. A gallon of regular. That is an amazing drop just over the last month or so. We're well over 25 cents per gallon, down from a month ago. That's great news. But it's not great news for everybody. I checked this morning. The average price for a gallon of regular in California is $4.30. Now look, I understand California has a lot more roads and they need to tax gasoline a little bit more to pay for that. But that is just an outrageous markup on what is the average price for everybody else. This is just crazy. In California, a $50 more per gallon. So if you have a 20 gallon tank, you're paying 30 bucks more to fill up every week. Outrageous. And there are some other states, of course, it's not just California, but my goodness, I mean, I'm here on Long Island, New York, which is not necessarily a bargain for a lot of things, but I'm paying less than 280 a gallon now here in my area. So honestly, California, get with it. Stop shaking down your own people. All right, so far car thefts nationwide are down, by the way, in 2025, but some models are still more likely to be lifted than others. So far this year, the top five most swiped cars in America and trucks are Hyundai Elantra, the Hyundai Sonata. So two Hyundai's at 1 and 2, that's bad. The Honda Accord, the shell, the Chevy Silverado, which we just showed you there, that's the number one truck being robbed. And the Honda Civic. So if you own any of those cars, be careful where you park them, don't put packages in them and make sure that you lock everything. Now I told you earlier this year how 17 states were blocking the Dodge Durango, the Hellcat, from being sold, especially because California was leading the way because of the fuel that it consumed. Oh, how terrible that is. Well, now Dodge has worked it out with a bunch of those states. And now the Dodge Durango, that V9 SRT hellcat, is now available in all 50 states. So I'm very happy for everyone there involved. All right, I think everyone watching this show knows that I am a big proponent of self driving cars and taxis, especially for those who are disabled in America who can't get around and government fails them for transportation. But even I will openly admit that this is a big problem. There was a power outage in San Francisco over the weekend. About 130,000 people in the city of San Francisco were out of power and so were the power centers for the Waymo self driving taxis. So they didn't just stop operating, they just stopped dead in their tracks in the middle of traffic. I haven't heard about any serious accidents, but there were some serious, serious traffic jams because of that problem. They've got to fix it again. I still like self driving cars, but boy that is a scary, scary bug. Okay, coming up, A massive scandal is coming to light in Georgia. Literally hundreds of thousands of uncertified votes were counted in Georgia in 2020, where Joseph Biden supposedly won that state by fewer than 12,000 votes. We're going to talk to a congressional candidate from Georgia about that and more. And later, the great journalist and author Luke Cannon. There he is talking. He passed away this weekend and I'm going to explain why. He was one of the most important political chroniclers of all time. American Sunrise Early Edition. We'll be right back.

It's Monday, December 22, here at Today's Top Stories. Nice try. Maduro, a sanctioned Venezuelan oil tanker flies a false flag and hoping to avoid SEIZURE by the U.S. coast Guard. But the jig is up and the tanker is now being pursued on the high seas. More Epstein files are released, but there's just more finger pointing between Democrats and Republicans over whose reputation is more damaged by this whole mess. Also, some files are now missing. Yes, this is a complete and confusing mess. Speaking of messes, Governor Tim Walsh tries to downplay the mass Somali community shaking down of Minnesota's welfare funding. But the facts emerging just keep getting worse. I don't see how this guy survives. And another infuriating scandal is unfolding in Georgia, where it's now an undisputed fact that 315,000 ballots in the 2020 election were never properly handled or certified, but they were still counted. Joe Biden supposedly won that state by fewer than 12,000 votes. Hmm. American Sunrise EARLY EDITION continues now. Welcome back to AMERICAN SUNRISE EARLY edition. I'm Jake Novak. It is a Monday, by the way. Throughout the program you've probably been hearing we've been playing snippets of that anthem of the free song which we put together here at Real America's Voice, the J6 prison choir. It's called an incredible really a song that's capturing a lot of attention here. You hear it and just check out all throughout the day, some great offers that we're providing along with that. And it's not, I guess it's number one on iTunes, something like that. So a really great weekend for that, that song that was produced right here. Welcome back. Joining us right now is Georgia Republican candidate for Congress. His name is Beau Brown. And Beau, first, before we get to your race and your district, we gotta talk about your state because this emerges for two reasons that I wanna talk about. Obviously, it's a massive scandal, 315,000 votes, votes not properly signed by the poll workers, et cetera, et cetera. But the other issue here is that the story's being suppressed. If you go on Google and try to type in this story, unless you get like 17 of the details in your search bar search 315,000 votes poll work. It doesn't come up. The story doesn't come up. And they are suppressing this story. I'm wondering, is it making big news at least where you are in Georgia?
Beau Brown
Yeah, yeah, it's making big news especially I mean, don't go to Google, just go to X. It's on there plenty. So look, we all knew the night of the election when, when the water pipe burst happened in Atlanta, that, that the gig was up. So yet all the battleground states basically stopped counting overnight, which who knew, you know, when was the last time that happened? So the fraud is raw in Fulton county. And, and I'm glad that the light's finally being exposed. But unfortunately it had to happen after four years of the auto pan and Biden.
Jake Novak
Yeah, it's no joke. And whether they were using Covid or the mail in ballot stuff, whatever they used to do this under the COVID of the night or a pipe bursting. I mean, for a country like ours to have engineered something like this is just really, really sad. And I know that everyone watching wants to see someone go to jail over this. And unfortunately, these people aren't dumb criminals. A lot of them knew how to cover their tracks, and we'll, we'll not let them cover their tracks as best we can here on this program. But really, it's just amazing to me how most people who are turning on their TVs this morning and watching most of the news programs out there are still not going to hear about the story three, four days out. Now, Bo, I want to get to your particular story because as many of you all know, Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Republican congresswoman from District 14 in Georgia, is going to be resigning and leaving Congress in January. And so now there's going to have to be a special election for that seat, which is a very deep red state. I checked my map. Oh, and it's northwest of Atlanta and Marietta. So tell us a little bit about your decision to run and what you think really needs to happen for that district before we get into the wider national issues.
Beau Brown
Yeah, I chose to run on my own convictions. I just asked myself, why not me? Nobody knew Marjorie Taylor Greene was going to resign. I don't even think Vegas knew. So, yeah, me running on my own convictions, just given the public and the voters a candidate that they can, you know, actually, that's just like them, like 99 of your viewers. I'm a guy that has a job. I'll be clocking into work after this and take, you know, I worked on a living and take care of my family. So I'm running them on convictions. You can call it a active civil expression based on the, you know what the Constitution says that anybody can run. And that's what I'm doing. I'm full fledged going after it and I plan on winning. So I believe in this campaign and hopefully the word will get out about me. And I think people, once they get to know me, will, will see that I'm a viable candidate.
Jake Novak
Now, Georgia 14 is, like I said, a very Republican district. But you're kind of on the tip of the spear there. You're just outside of that Atlanta, Marietta area. You're kind of like me here in Nassau County. It's not as deep red as your district, but it's more, it leans more to the right. And when Zoran Mamdani becomes the mayor of New York City, I'm going to be on the tip of the spear, kind of just over the border in enemy territory. But the reason why I'm asking about that is because we've seen in so many red, supposedly red states, Georgia, Tennessee, even Texas. Big blue cities are big blue counties that overturn the will of most of the people in the state. Forget about the whole country, let alone the whole country. So how does it feel? You're kind of just out of that range. And I'm sure that a lot of things that go on in Fulton county affect you adversely over there.
Beau Brown
Yeah, I mean, our district, District 14 is probably the most conservative district in the nation. And I'm happy to be able to represent or earn the confidence of the district to represent us as the next congressman. We need someone like, like me that's an honest account, you know, honest individual that's going to be accountable to the district more than, you know, more than some of the past candidates. And obviously I'm not going to quit on the district. So we've seen that happen recently. And we need, you know, someone, they need someone like me that's going to be in there, that's going to work hard and treat the position as a job rather than going, going to be a public figure. I want to be a public servant. So yeah, Bo Brown for Congress.com. that's, you know, we gotta stay in the fight against the left and you know, the, the Democratic controlled areas like Fulton County. Yeah, we just gotta keep moving forward.
Jake Novak
What would you say are the biggest challenges in your district? I mean, we keep hearing about affordability. Affordability. And I'm not saying that isn't true. I see prices higher in my, in my day to day life too. I'm certainly not denying that. But duh, I mean that this started in 2021 and late 2020 under, under Joe Biden. And of course I'm in a Democrat state, so, you know, this is nothing new for me. But is it affordability, the quote, affordability issue, or are there some other problems that are facing that district that need to be addressed?
Beau Brown
Yeah, affordability is one of the main problems in this district. You know, the goalpost keeps moving on. People wage increases. People have to wait a year to get a 2 to 4% increase if they get anything. And you have inflation moving every day so wages can't keep up with what's going on. We need more jobs in this area to bring in, you know, bring in more industry, whether that be, you know, electric vehicles or electric vehicle manufacturing, which. Or that we've had multiple battery plants open up around here, which is, you know, it provides jobs and I think, you know, jobs really. Another thing I'm hearing is accessibility. They want a candidate that's accessible to the district. That's why I pledge to be the most accessible candidate that's ever served. Georgia 14. I'll be in this district more than I'm in Washington.
Jake Novak
When you mentioned the battery plants and things like that, we know that the auto industry and the auto suppliers have been having a southern tilt for probably 30 years now. It's nothing new. But, you know, you mentioned that and I thought to myself, there are a couple of plants in Georgia, but not as much as I think you see in Tennessee or other places like that. Do you feel like there's things that could be done, maybe some regulations that could be relaxed to get more business coming into your district?
Beau Brown
Yeah, I'm all for small business. I'm all for, you know, bringing more industry to the district. I've been all over northwest Georgia providing business consultation and risk management for the last decade, so. I'm sorry, I thought you said something. Yeah, I've been in the district the last decade providing risk management services to business owners and C suite executives. You know, I've seen everything from a restaurant to light manufacturing to metal workers to, you know, tier one and tier two level manufacturing. So I know what this district needs in terms of jobs and what this district wants. You know, this is a hard working district. They want hard working jobs, but they also want good paying jobs. And I'm all for bringing those types of industries to the district and I'll work hard to raise the well being of this community more than anybody that's running right now. So.
Jake Novak
All right, well, Beau Brown, thank you so much for joining us and you know, congratulations for getting involved in the political process. I think that the answer to our problems, win or lose, is people who want to get involved and not just sit on the sidelines and complain. So I really, I applaud you for that alone and good luck in your campaign and we'll check in with you real soon.
Beau Brown
Yeah, Jake, thank you for having me. You know, it's got to be you got to be the man in the arena. And that's what I'm trying to be.
Jake Novak

All morning here in American Sunrise Early Edition. We've been playing the anthem of the free for you there and a lot of information about how you can get copy, how you can download it, and a lot of other stuff here on Real America's Voice. Great, great stuff there. Welcome back. The great journalist and author Lou Cannon died this weekend and while he wrote many good books about Ronald Reagan's presidency. For my money, his book about Reagan's eight years as governor of California between the years 1966 and 1974. It's simply titled. Governor Reagan is the name of the book. It's the most important work of his, in my opinion, because of where we are right now with some of these blue states that are off the rails and seem incurable. Incurable. Incurable. That's, it's, I can't even say the word. That's how bad it is. David Brody joins me now. And David, as we look at Lu Cannon speaking there at the Reagan Library a few years ago, and by the way, that is significant because he was sometimes critical of President Reagan, not much, but he was sometimes critical. So the fact that they invited him there was pretty big. But I want to make a point, David, about the importance of Governor Reagan by playing this soundbite. This is Ronald Reagan as governor of California, and he doesn't sound like the kindly old gentleman that you've been told he always was. Listen to this. He might even try to explain why in this last five years an 18% increase in our population has been met with a 49 increase in the number of people on welfare and a 100% increase in the cost of welfare. Perhaps the time has come for for institutions of higher learning to assert themselves as positive forces in the battle for men's minds. And this could mean they might insist upon mature, responsible conduct and respect for the individual from their faculty members, and they might even call on them to be proponents of those ethical and moral standards demanded by the great majority in our society. David, was that 1966 or was it 2025? Because you could give that same speech, you'd have to jack up the percentage numbers. But if you want to beat back what's going on in some of these blue states, you got to get a straight talking guy. And Ronald Reagan didn't talk that sharply as president very often, but he did when he was governor because they needed it more in California. And so I think a lot of people who maybe think that Ronald Reagan is a little bit different than what he really was need to read that book. Need to read New Cannon's book about his governorship. I think it's really important right now.
David Brody
Now such a great point. And when you introduce Luke Cannon and the fact that he has passed away, you started with the word journalist and that's the key, right? It wasn't that he was an author and oh, by the way, was a journalist for seven to 10 to 12 years. No no, he was a journalist first, and he put facts first. And that's why Reagan gave him so much of the access from California all the way through both of his two terms, finally, with that book in 1991, about Reagan's tenure in all in totality, if you will. But what Reagan learned in California is something Luke Cannon documented so wonderfully, which is that he was able to see specifically Reagan's pragmatism, if you will. And at the same time, Reagan being able to kind of convey narratives, and this was one of them on welfare, as you just played. I mean, he. If you think about Reagan during his California years, right, so much campus unrest, he talked about the moral decay. I mean, that's where the narrative started to come with Berkeley protests and everything. So you had that and you had. Of course, he railed against big government. That's where that narrative came. And Luke Cannon was able to document all of that. But what was interesting in Luke Cannon's books is he took a sobering look because he didn't just say Reagan was a big government conservative, which he was, but he also signed some tax increases where he needed to as it relates to the budget. And that was the pragmatism of Reagan as well. So Luke Cannon was able to capture everything and just a job well done. And by the way, the gold standard, let's be clear, for anyone, any of these other biographers that are out there, they look to Luke Cannon first and foremost.
Jake Novak
Yeah. And you mentioned he was a journalist. He was covering Governor Reagan for the Sacramento Bee for many years. And this would be a lesson for all young journalists. You wanna make it big, then do the work because he hit it big. When Reagan won the presidency, it was obvious every national newspaper wanted Lou Cannon to be the guy to go to Washington with Ronald Reagan. And so it was as simple as that. You do the good work, you will be rewarded. Not, oh, I'm gonna hook my myself to someone who I think is gonna be a winner. No, do the work first and then maybe that guy. That's how it works.
David Brody
And the dirty little secret real quick is that whether it be Trump or Reagan or whatever, they're okay with criticism as long as it's fair. Criticism when it's unfair, that's different.
Jake Novak
And guess what? He became a huge admirer of Ronald Reagan. The longer you look at him usually is what happens. All right, American Sunrise, the big show coming up next. I'll see you tomorrow at seven.
