Ahead on American Sunrise Early Edition. The Democrats multifront war against US citizens is reaching new highs. In just the last 72 hours, we've seen Democrat run cities release thousands of criminals onto the streets, set up websites to identify and harass ICE agents and continue their efforts to defend drug traffickers. How can America survive when one of our two major political parties deliberately wants to harm American citizens?
Of course, the Trump administration is still fighting, fighting back. Major ICE sweeps are underway in New Orleans and in the twin cities of Minnesota. This may be why the Democrats are ramping up their push against law and order just right now.
And again, that Democrat effort is ramping up to help our enemies. That includes a new narrative promoted by Democrats in Congress to depict Venezuelan drug traffickers as just some guys trying to make a living. No, I'm not kidding.
But for every outrage the Democrats defend, the Trump team is pushing back. That includes Secretary of State Marco Rubio now vowing to block visas for foreigners who express opposition to religious freedom. Well, there goes about half of the incoming class at Harvard. And speaking of Harvard, maybe those Ivy League dudes aren't so smart after all. One of the school's most recent investments puts the Crimson at the bottom of the class. American Sunrise EARLY EDITION begins now.

American Sunrise EARLY EDITION with your host Jake Novak starts.
Jake Novak
Welcome to American Sunrise EARLY edition. I'm Jake Novak. It's a Thursday here across the country. And the overriding theme of this program not this isn't a special, this isn't a tape show, this is live, is just looking at all the news events that still very breaking news events in many ways across the country that are spelling it out for all of us very plainly that I wouldn't even say just the Democrats. I would say the political class in general has changed from just trying to fight an all out war against President Trump and then against his supporters. And but it really is now clear that there's an all out war against all American citizens. Full American citizens are being attacked in every way that you can imagine. And this is becoming more than just a little bit of a trend, something that's happening once in a while. It now seems like it is a very coordinated effort or at least a lot of very bad coincidences all at once. Joining us now, to talk about a lot of them is Daily Signal senior producer and a co host of the Problematic Women podcast, Virginia Allen. And, Virginia, the Democrats continue to defend and justify the actions of just about any group or person who President Trump opposes. But I'm going to expand that now. Any group or person that seems to threaten American citizens. So I want you to listen to this, because this is their latest defense of drug traffickers from Venezuela who at least one Democrat senators claims. Democrat senator claims that they're just trying to make a living. Check it out. You know, one of the factors that drives.
Youth in the United States and is demand. And most narco traffickers are not in those boats. They pay people to do that, and usually people are not significantly involved with narco trading.
Virginia Allen
It's.
Jake Novak
It's the way they make money.
So. So that's the way they make money. I mean, listen, he's not wrong about demand. We got to do something about the drug demand coming from some of our citizens. But, I mean, are you kidding, Virginia? I mean, they're just. They're just trying to make money. So when he shot you in the head to take your money, he was, you know, he just knew again, that fallacy that poverty causes crime, it's the other way around. I mean, this is literally going to be their defense now.
Virginia Allen
Yeah, it seems like it. It is. In some ways. It's so sad. It's humorous that you follow that logic through and, well, if you're just doing it to make money, then anything is justifiable if you're coming from a poor country and you need the money. Look, the situation here, that has unraveled, and this isn't new, I want to be clear. We have been seeing drugs, tragically porn to our country for decades. Really. And what happened under the Biden administration is that these narco terrorists were empowered to start bringing more and more and more into the United States, and they were emboldened. But when President Trump closed the border, the drug cartels have had to get more creative. And so they've always used waterways to traffic drugs, but they're doing that even more so now because they can't get in via the land border. So we're seeing this uptick. And so the Trump administration has said, all right, we've secured our land border, now we have to secure our ports, we have to secure our waterways, and we have to cut off every single avenue that the cartels have. And we also want the. These narco terrorists to think twice before they get in these drug boats. So we're of course, we're seeing this pushback from Democrats, and, you know, there's some Republicans as well on Capitol Hill. Senator Rand Paul has been vocal saying, hey, we need to look into this. The Senate Armed Services Committee, they are doing vigorous oversight in order to make sure, you know, what has happened specifically. There's been a lot of news about that double strike that happened on September 2nd. There's looking into that. Of course, you know, the Trump administration has to be following the proper, proper rules of engagement. But I think we are really obligated to remember why the Trump administration is engaging in this fight, and that is to save American lives.
Jake Novak
Can't hear.
I lost your audio a little bit there, Virginia. And I don't know if the control room can hear me, but I'll move on to the next question, and hopefully everyone can hear, because at this moment, ICE agents are performing extensive sweeps in New Orleans and in the Twin cities of Minnesota. At the same time, we're seeing a number of organizations trying to create websites where people can report where the ICE agents are, get their names out there, encouraging the local police, some of the local politicians, to actually arrest the ICE agents. I mean, this really feels like it's a war on American citizens, including the people who are trying to protect us.
Virginia Allen
Well, since the start of the Trump administration, we have seen a 1000% increase of assaults against ICE officers, against law enforcement personnel who are trying to enforce immigration laws. And tragically, we're watching in cities like New Orleans, where you have the top authorities in the police department saying, hey, we will, we will work to make sure that those officers, that those, those immigration officials are safe, but we're not really going to help. We're not really going to assist in their operations. And this has just been the narrative repeatedly in these Democrat cities that we're seeing opposition, these sanctuary cities, we're seeing this pushback. And still the Trump administration, they're not slowing down. They've been clear. We've been given this mandate. And so far, according to the Department of homeland security, either 2 million illegal aliens have chosen to leave the US willingly or have been arrested and deported. And again, it's in the name of safety, in the name of ensuring that American streets are again, protected, American citizens are protected, and that the message is loud and clear that if you want to come to this country, you're welcome to do so, but you have to do so legally. And if you don't, the result will be arrest and deportation.
Jake Novak
I know we're trying to reestablish all of our connections here right now, Virginia. But I want to also talk about just what I think is a coordinated effort among the news media as well, to focus. And of course, we're talking a lot, you mentioned it earlier, the double tap, that double strike against the boats. But also about now, also the effort to try to stop all that money. We're learning about the billions and billions of dollars, probably trillions, that go to illegal aliens in this country. And I wonder, though, if the Republicans and the Trump administration, the people in the Cabinet, have the communication skills, Virginia, to pull this off. Because we saw Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins make the point now that he doesn't want to allow the states that are making it very easy for illegal aliens to take a huge amount of the SNAP benefits or food stamp benefits. And she doesn't want to allow them to have the money. She's going to freeze the money for them until they do something about it or at least give us the data to find out how they're trying to do something about it or if they are trying to do something about it. And you know, Virginia, this is going to take some good communication skills because what's going to have to happen, and this is my free advice for the administration and Republicans in general, they're going to have to do a commercial with an American citizen, poor family, maybe in a public housing project or something like that, and sitting with them at the table and saying, this table could be filled with more food, more, more nutritious food for these children right here. But a lot of it is going to illegal aliens somewhere else. They need to create sympathy to overcome the phony sympathy the Democrats are trying to create for illegal aliens. Because I don't know if you can pull this off when you know what's going to happen. They're going to parade out a bunch of children and say, well, they might be illegal aliens. How can you start them? We're going to have to make it clear what the objectives here are.
Virginia Allen
Yeah, no, they absolutely are. I think you're right that this is a communication battle, really in some ways. And I think an added element to that is that Republicans, gop, specifically the Trump administration, need to make it clear that whoever pays for something, I think Americans understand this, whoever pays for something should know what that money is going for. The Trump administration has asked for full transparency to know, okay, this is a federal program. SNAP benefits are something that the federal government pays for. So the federal government should know who is receiving them. States, they contribute for about 50% of just administrative costs. And Again, the federal government covers about half of administrative costs, but the benefit itself is covered by the federal government. So it's common sense that those who are paying for it should know where it's going. And so it is going to be a real, a real element of there being a messaging war here. And at the end of the day, this goes back to getting waste, getting fraud out of the American system and ensuring that American taxpayer money is used well, and used in a way that benefits Americans, Americans especially, who use those SNAP benefits to make sure that they are receiving them and those who are not legal citizens, that they are not qualified to receive those benefits and are instead, we want to make sure that those people who are, are here, maybe have been receiving those SNAP benefits but are not here legally. Let's, if, you know, if they're not a criminal, okay, let's look at either moving them through the right legal process to establish citizenship or if they have a criminal history, are deported.
Jake Novak
Yeah. And I want to make something clear to everyone here. This is something everyone should remember. Share it with your friends. Giving money, our taxpayer money, to illegal aliens, no matter how poor they might be, is not compassion, especially when there are millions of Americans who need that aid, and that's what the aid was meant for. It's not compassion to do that. It's misplaced favoritism. And that is not, not really something that we should be supporting. Virginia, I have only a couple seconds left, so I want to show everyone the headline of a piece you have out about Marco Rubio. Whenever I'm going to go to check the Daily Signal today, the piece you have about Marco Rubio looking to stop visas coming to people who show an opposition to religious freedom. And I was only kidding, sort of. I mean, that is actually there's going to be a ton of students who are expecting to come to the United States in the next couple of years who have publicly protested and posted about how they hate Jews and Christians. They may not be able to get into the United States right now. And you know what? Good ridden. So I want everyone to check that out but Virginia Allen, thank you so much for joining us and have a great weekend. A little early happy weekend wish on my part.
Virginia Allen
Thank you, Jake.
Jake Novak
Okay, coming up, speaking of Harvard and those schools, those Harvard geniuses are at it again, making one of the worst timed investments of the year. I'll tell you about that. But first, they really are geniuses, and I'm serious about that at American Eagle Outfitters for that Sydney Sweeney ad. But just how much has it brought in for the company, American Sunrise EARLY Edition. We'll be right back.
Welcome back to American Sunrise EARLY EDITION here on this Thursday. I'm Jake Novak. Thank you so much. The for joining us, especially those of you already up and commenting on the getter and the rumble chat. Some of you are commenting on X and substack. Again, news now needs to be interactive. I just don't know how any news organization can claim they're a news organization when they don't listen to the actual people who are living in the country they supposedly are reporting for. Anyway, that's New Orleans speaking of the country we're reporting for. That's the corner. That's the French Quarter. It's Bourbon Street. No super bowl in New Orleans this year, which is always my favorite when there's a Super bowl in New Orleans. But there you go, ice agents apparently all over New Orleans. I don't see any in that video right now, but they're probably in another part of town. Something funny happened on the way to the culture war that the radical left wanted to start, if you remember, against Sydney Sweeney and American Eagle Outfitters when they ran that Sydney Sweeney has good Genes ad. There's something really interesting about this because three months ago we found out just how much money American Eagle Outfitters had been getting from that incredible ad and how strong it was. And I thought maybe that was it. They were going to get it all set up. The back to school market would be rocked out of the park for American Eagle Outfitters and that would be that. But then we found out on Monday or actually Tuesday that American Eagle Outfitters is still making big money on all the Sydney Swinney collection stuff. In fact, they are having to up every week. They have to increase their sales projections for Wall street for what they're expecting for the Christmas season. It's doing really well. Now. You might be surprised, folks, I actually did some fashion research on this. I spoke to Mary Zagarrick Eppner, who's an expert retail analyst and an analyst on apparel. And she told me that in addition to these ads, and I'll talk about that a little bit more in a second, in addition to these ads, it's actually a really good product. That American Eagle outfit is actually has really, really good denim products that not only look good but feel good. And that's a big reason for it, too. So it's always great when you have a good ad campaign and then when people actually show up to the store or the website or put on the product, they actually like it even more. That's great. But here's something else I want everyone to pay attention to. I've been trying to find out, along with a few other people, what Madison Avenue ad agency had the brains, and it did take brains, to do this ad in the first place. The Sydney Sweeney has good Genes ad in the first place. And it turns out the answer is none. This was an internal ad campaign done by the people at aeo. American Eagle. That's their stock ticker symbol, by the way, aeo. And if you're interested in their stock, take a look at what it's done this year. It's soared up like 20% yesterday alone. So there's a little bit of a point I want to make. But apparently they did this in house. And that actually makes sense, doesn't it? Because if you go to one of the big Madison Avenue ad campaigns or ad agencies right now, the chances are they're going to hook you up with a bunch of woke young people, maybe in their late 20s, maybe in their early 30s, who have a political agenda that they think is cool, that they think will sell items. But of course, it doesn't. American Eagle Outfitters wasn't trying to be political with the Sydney Sweeney has Good genes ads. Only the radical left saw it that way. They were just trying to do a little bit of a play on words and use. I'm sure they spent a lot of money and paid Sydney Sweeney a lot of money for that ad campaign. They're going to have to pay her more, probably. That's all they wanted to do. They wanted to promote their product. Had they gone to one of the big Madison Avenue ad agencies, they would have told them immediately, don't do that. Oh, no, no. That's politically incorrect. And they would have lost out on all these billions of dollars that the company is making. Just think about that for a second. When you're trying to make money in this country, don't get political or get involved in the culture wars or listen to these woke radicals. If you want to get political, just say you're a big American patriot. You don't have to say the name of a political party or a candidate. That's okay. But when you start with the culture wars from the left side of the aisle, you're going to lose money. Simple as that. Okay? You know, we like Bourbon street so much in the French Quarter that we thought we'd show it to you again here. American Sunrise. That's New Orleans, Louisiana. We're checking out. An interesting morning. Of course, it really is an important city. In the news this morning as ICE agents are sweeping the city going after a reported 500 criminal illegal aliens that are on the streets there. That street corner looks safe. I think we've cleared that street corner. We can move on to some others. Looks pretty clear of all human activity, at least at this moment. Let's take a look at where the markets are going to begin today. Sorry for that. You know, we had a little bit of a sell off on Monday, and then Tuesday and Wednesday, the markets were up nicely. Did you hear the mainstream media saying, hey, good day? No, they only want to talk about the bad news. Looks like a very modest positive. And this is, this is a pretty flat open I'm showing you here. Right here. Look at that. 0.03% on the NASDAQ couldn't be much flatter than that. But we'll take it. After two days of gains. Crude oil still below 60 bucks a barrel, but it's at the $59 a barrel level. I forgot to get into more detail about this yesterday. You know, if we had seen any progress on Tuesday with the Russian peace talks with Steve Woodcock talking to Putin, we would see oil down at like 57 or $56. But we didn't. So they're not really seeing any progress right now. Now let's take a look at Bitcoin because it's been making a comeback. Let's see if it's still making a comeback. Looks like it's at a pause right now. It's right there just about at $93,000 again. That's a nice move up from the $81,000 we were looking at, I guess early Monday. But it's taken a pause right now after those big gains for the last couple of days. You know, maybe we shouldn't sweat that Supreme Court decision that's coming out any day now on whether or not the Trump tariffs are legal or not. A lot of people are saying, boy, the Supreme Court knocks down those tariffs, it's gonna be an absolute chaotic situation for our economy and all the importers, it's gonna be back and forth. The treasury might get reduced. Who knows what's gonna happen? Well, Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessant making it clear yesterday, don't worry, don't worry, folks. He said even if the Supreme Court knocks down the tariffs specifically, there are other avenues with which the executive branch, President Trump, can impose the very same costs on importers. In other words, they'll have to pay the same thing and the point of the tariffs will still be the same. So Scott Besson says not to worry. And I wonder if the markets are going to take them up on that. Whether they believe them or not. Obviously they're not panicking right now one way or the other. So we'll see what that, how that plays out. Okay. I think big time investors have found a way. This is really interesting. I think they found a way to get all their anxieties about the AI bubble out in a more healthy way. Remember, I've told you so many times in this program, especially since April, that every time there's even a little bit of a hint that maybe the AI craze is a little overbought, maybe there's a little too much money in the whole sector. Sometimes these investors really freak out and they tank the entire market. Well, yesterday I think we saw the investors get a little bit more mature. They decided only to punish one company and only moderately. That would be Microsoft. We found out yesterday that Microsoft's AI division isn't doing all that well. Not as well as they'd like, but it's still Microsoft and the company is still doing really well with their cloud computing and other things. So investors beat it down just slightly, a little bit more than 1% for the day. So if they want to get their anxieties about AI out, focus it on a real story, a real event, and the company that's responsible for that day and then take a bigger picture view that's really very much mature and wise investing. If this is the way the AI trade is going to go on from now on, I'm all for it. Reward individual companies and not just a trend or a craze. Oh, those Harvard geniuses. Speaking of trends and crazes, the Harvard geniuses have done it again. The country's richest and oldest university supersized its wager on bitcoin last quarter, just before bitcoin really had that huge loss, Harvard increased in its endowment fund its investment in bitcoin to over $500 million. Now, look, Harvard may eventually make money on that. I'm not, you know, you know that I feel that bitcoin is a pretty good investment generally. Of course, it's going to have some wild ups and downs, but you got to love the timing. This is when they went all in on bitcoin just before that big crash. It's going to take them a while to get their money back because they're still down more than 30% on that investment alone. Maybe we shouldn't follow Ivy League dumbbells when it comes to when to invest in things. Just. Just a thought. All right, ladies and gentlemen, start your engines.

President Trump, he seemed to really enjoy that announcement he made yesterday on nullifying the tough fuel economy standards imposed on all automakers in the United States by the Biden administration. Check it out. He's having some fun here. It put tremendous upward pressure on car prices.
Commercial Announcer
Combined with the insane electric vehicle mandate, Biden's burdensome regulations helped cause the price of cars to Soar more than 25%. And in one case, they went up 18% in one year. Today, we're taking one more step to kill the green news scam as part of the greatest scam probably.
Jake Novak
Well, other than Russia, Russia, Russia and a few others I could name.
Of course. I know there's a lot of greenies out there who are getting, you know, basically hiding under a bed and calling for the end of the world because we're not going to force Detroit to make crazy, crazy changes in the fuel efficiency of their cars in a really short amount of time. First of all, everyone take a breath. Fuel efficiency has been improving on its own because of market demand for many years. If you want to have a real natural and lasting fuel efficiency standard going on your cars, let the free market do it because it's been doing a pretty good job of it for a very, very long time. And second of all, these kinds of cars and the way that we drive them and long commutes and things like that are also going away, I think hopefully soon because of the way that we're building real estate now. A lot more people living in downtown areas. I mean, I could go on about this For a long period of time. The Biden administration forced Detroit to kind of scramble and spend billions of dollars. They were making cars lighter so that they could be more fuel efficient. You make cars lighter, people die in accidents more easily. Sometimes you want a heavy door on the car, you know what I mean? So these were things that were not helpful. Let the market decide this at the market, dictate this and you're going to get more fuel economy. You can tell your environmentalist friends to come out from under the bed right now. The world is not going to end. All right, I want to file this under it's about time. That would be my file name for this. BMW CEO Oliver Zipse is now publicly demanding that the EU make a final trade deal with the United States and to stop messing around and trying to get into a trade war with the United States. He wants a deal made so that the tariffs get brought down, especially for his company, his country, Germany. And we see some normalcy in its businesses now. This is long overdue. Where are all the other CEOs of big European companies who, by the way, are more in bed with their governments than even our corporate leaders are. I mean, they basically run their countries together in tandem. Where are they? So far? It's just this BMW guy. We need more of the CEOs in the EU to tell the EU to stop messing around and make a deal, a trade deal. It will be good for all of us. So good for the BMW leader. I'm happy that he did that now. It's that kind of courage from companies like BMW that now has the EU backing down from another unrealistic policy. If you thought that the Biden fuel efficiency standards were tough, remember, the EU pretty much still has in place the 2035 deadline for no more gas powered cars to be made in the entire continent, the entire eu. That's crazy. And more and more of the leaders of that, of those countries, the corporate leaders of those countries, not just the auto company CEOs have been telling them they need to back off. And I have good news on that front as well. While that deadline is still in place, sort of the EU in recent days has now backtracked on it quite a bit. They are now issuing a lot of exceptions to that rule, like for ambulances and for police vehicles. And there's going to be more exceptions to come. This is not a difficult prediction, folks. They're going to scrap that 2035 deadline and probably save their auto industry and a lot of their economy in so doing. But again, if they want that to happen, people have to speak up. Okay, now to a story that could be a hint of the kind of attack that we're going to see, hopefully not on this country, but on a lot of other countries and the kinds of attacks we're going to see in larger numbers going on in the Russia, Ukraine war. It could be just a bad technical glitch, but I don't think so. Listen to this. Porsche models in Russia. All the Porsche models from 2013 and beyond and, and sooner and more recent have suddenly stopped working in the entire nation of Russia. They just died on the road. Owners report engines dying and alarms failing without explanation. Now, it's possibly linked to portions of ETS satellite tracking and security unit, which apparently is hackable. It could have been hacked by Ukrainians. It really does seem to be that that's the case. Now, again, the issue impacts Porsche models dating back to 2013, all of which have a factory vehicle tracking system that vts. If the VTS loses satellite signal, it automatically activates the engine immobilizer and stops the car from working. This is a very interesting way to attack, folks. I guess you could say it's attacking the rich. I don't know how many poor people have Porsches in Russia, but here you go. Of course, I certainly hope our cyber security experts here in the United States are watching this very closely because this could happen to us, too, if we're not careful. Okay, coming up, what do the recent actions of Tish James, Kathy Hochul, Tim Walz, and so many other Democrats have in common with the teachings of the great political theorists of the Renaissance era? Stay tuned for that. We're going to talk about that with David Brody. But first, an outrageous story out of the University of Oklahoma, and it's got nothing to do with the College Football Playoff rankings. I'll get into the latest on a student who was flunked for her faith when American Sunrise EARLY EDITION comes right back.

It's Thursday, December 4th. Here are this morning's top stories. The Democrats multi front war against US Citizens, not just Trump people, is reaching new highs. It's just in the last 72 hours we've seen Democrat run citizens cities release thousands of criminals onto the streets on purpose, set up websites to identify and harass ICE agents and continue their efforts to defend drug traffickers killing tens of thousands of us every month. How can America survive when one of our two major political parties, and maybe the entire political class, deliberately wants to harm the citizens of this country? Of course the Trump administration is trying to push back. There are major ICE sweeps going on right now in the cities of New Orleans and the Twin Cities in Minnesota. This may be why the Democrats are ramping up their push against law and order right now at this point.
And again, that Democrat effort is ramping up to help our enemies. That includes a new narrative promoted by Democrats like Senator Reid in the video right there, trying to depict the Venezuelan drug traffickers as just some guys trying to make a living. So the people who kill you to mug you. I'm not kidding. Just an incredible move by this guy. And then there's the dummies at Harvard. They don't just admit people who hate America. Maybe those Ivy League dudes aren't also very good at investing. They put a big, big bet on bitcoin just before it went down by more than 30%. American Sunrise early EDITION continues. Now.
Welcome back. It is Thursday, December 4th. I'm Jake Novak. Thank you so much for joining us here on American Sunrise, Early Edition. This is the 42nd anniversary of my bar mitzvah. So do the math. Anyway, welcome back. Joining us right now is former Oklahoma schools chief and currently the CEO of the Teacher Freedom Alliance, Ryan Walters. And, Ryan, we're going to get to your take on the situation, that there's a big story out of Oklahoma. We just teased it a couple of times. We're going to get to that in a moment. But I want your take on the overall theme in America right now, because you were at the tip of the spear of that for many years in the school systems and you still are obviously very close to the school systems across the country. But we are now seeing the deliberate bankrupting of our money to illegal aliens. We're seeing the deliberate endangering of our citizens by putting criminals on the streets and trying to attack the ICE agents, trying to clear the criminals on our streets. And of course, we also have this situation where drug traffickers and of course, you know a lot about this as well in states like Oklahoma, where these kinds of drugs coming into these states, killing off tens of thousands of our people all the time. I mean, this to me is different. This is no longer a crazy Trump derangement syndrome thing. They don't like Trump. They don't like his supporters. This really feels like a dystopian movie. Our elected leaders trying to kill and endanger, otherwise endanger American citizens. Gotta have your overall take on this as someone who, who has seen so much of it over the years.
Ryan Walters
I mean, there's no other explanation than that they're trying to destroy this country. I mean, when you look at things like fentanyl in our schools, fentanyl in our streets, when you look at drug dealers coming into the country, when you look at the rampant crime in our big cities and you see Democrats going to these extreme bounds to continue it. It is an intentional undermining of this country to achieve their Marxist ends. I mean, I don't know how you continue to stand up for drug dealers and criminals and pretend this is just a policy difference. No, it's not. They hate this country and so they are doing all that they can to undermine it. And President Trump is the one trying to save the country, get the country back on track. His administration have taken tremendous steps to save America, and the Democrats fight it every step of the way. They will engage in criminal activity. They don't care. They'll have their margaritas with illegal immigrant criminals that they do not care. They want to destroy this country because it puts them in power. And when they get power, we know what they do. They usurp as much as they can from the American people. And that's what this is. It's an intentional undermining of President Trump and America holistically.
Jake Novak
Yeah. I think it's a combination of people who want to destroy the country and people who are being paid just to say something and they'll say anything. And unfortunately, that's our political class right now. Ryan, let's now go to the big story out of your own home state of Oklahoma. A University of Oklahoma student down in Norman says she failed an assignment because the transgender teaching assistant who graded it disapproved of her religious message in that assignment. Where are we in this situation? Has that student had that grade restored? Is the teaching assistant punished? What's going on right now?
Ryan Walters
Well, right now, you know, OU is saying they're investigating it and they're looking into it and all of that. But again, this is an example of what we've been saying for years, which is higher ed is at war with Christians. You see it play out time and time again. Hey, Oklahoma is the reddest state in the country, and yet you even see this happening there. And look, Samantha's an American hero. Samantha stood up and said, listen, this is my opinion. That's what the paper is about. I cited the Bible. And because we've got transgender activists that are pushing woke indoctrination on our kids, they say, no, sorry, that doesn't count. Your opinion is evil. We're not going to count it. We're going to zero you out. We're going to hurt your academic career. Brilliant student here because we hate Christians. We hate Christianity. Not on our watch. And so listen, everybody involved in this should be fired. Any of the professors that okayed a zero because she cited the Bible, they should be out. And listen, we should be reviewing their taxpayer status. You cannot continue to have taxpayers funding higher ed that is undermining our country and is attacking the Christian faith. So they say they're reviewing it. I know they're hearing from a lot of Americans right now that say this is outrageous that you would target a student for being a Christian.
Jake Novak
Yeah, I mean, also, you know, Ryan, isn't. It isn't just political misguided stuff and political hatred here. It's also an incredible amount of stupidity and ignorance from people who are supposed to be our educated folks here. News headline. Universities in America were started as Christian divinity schools, the valedictory addresses, the first valedatory addresses at Harvard and Yale were given in biblical Hebrew. These were divinity schools. It doesn't work if you have a university, even a so called secular university. It doesn't work if you're going to leave out the Bible and things like that. The university structure in this country for over 300 years has been all about more than that, really. 350 years almost has been all about starting with our biblical knowledge, branching out from that. Of course we have our hard sciences and things like that. But if you keep the Bible out of university, you've changed the university into something else. It's really something. I don't think people enough people understand, do they?
Ryan Walters
No, they don't. And you see exactly why they don't want our kids to know history. You know, we fight this all the time. You fight it in K12 with the teachers unions that are constantly trying to rewrite American history, Tell kids that it's a race to racist evil country, tell kids that Christianity played no role in American history. Just read the founding Fathers. It's right there. Like you said, study. Where did universities come from? What were their intentions? What made this country great? But this is why the fight is in our classrooms. This is why the fight is in higher ed. Because they know they can fundamentally change this country by lying to the next generation, turning them against their faith, turning them against their families, turning them against this country. And we've got to get back and continue the fight in education, get the teachers unions out, fire these woke professors, defund universities that are continuing to undermine the very principles that made this country great in the first place. But by the way, it is incredibly intentional plan. We've seen this play out in years in higher ed. The professors have overrun the universities with their woke ideology and President Trump is doing a job great, tremendous job fighting back, saying, hey, if you guys are going to do this nonsense, then hey, we're going to come in and we're going to make sure that this is ended. Because again, these are taxpayer dollars paying to indoctrinate our own kids.
Jake Novak
All right, well, I'm going to have some fun with this right now, Ryan, because let's push back on those university folks right now because I want to talk about this in context of this other story that I know you're interested in. A teachers union in the state of Florida for university professors is pushing back on Florida's rule that they have to publicly publish the syllabus for their courses. The syllabi that's the plural syllabus. So that's what they're trying to do. Now, I want to talk about this in the context of what I think is really going on here. It isn't just them trying to cover their tracks politically, but I think that if everyone sees the syllabus for each individual course online, they'll just be able to read the books on their own. Now, this isn't just my idea. I want everyone to understand something. My good friend Will Hunting went to a bar in Cambridge and proved this. I want you to check out this clip. Of course I'm talking about the movie Goodwill Hunting. Not a real person. But this is a great clip explaining why maybe they don't want to put that syllabus online. Check this out.
Movie Clip Character (Good Will Hunting)
Hang on. You're a first year grad student. You just got finished reading some Marxian historian, Pete Garrison.
Jake Novak
Probably.
Movie Clip Character (Good Will Hunting)
You're going to be convinced of that till next month when you get to James Lemon. Then you're going to be talking about how the economies of Virginia and Pennsylvania were entrepreneurial and capitalists way back in 1740. That's gonna last until next year. You're gonna be in here regurgitating Gordon Wood, talking about, you know, the pre revolutionary utopia and the capital forming effects of military mobilization.
Jake Novak
Well, as a matter of fact, I.
Movie Clip Character (Good Will Hunting)
Won'T because Wood drastically underestimates the impact of social distinctions. Wood drastically underestimates the impact of social distinctions predicated upon wealth, especially inherited wealth. You got that from Vickers Work in Essex county, page 98, right? Yeah, I read that too. Were you gonna plagiarize the whole thing for us? Do you have any thoughts of your own on this matter?
Jake Novak
Or do you.
Movie Clip Character (Good Will Hunting)
Is that your thing? You come into a bar, you read some obscure passage and then pretend you pawn it off as your own. As your own idea just to impress some girls. Embarrass my friend.
See, the sad thing about a guy like you is in 50 years you're gonna start doing some thinking on your own. And you're gonna come up with the fact that there are two uncertainties in life. One, don't do that. And two, you dropped 150 grand on a education you could have got for A$50 in late charges at the public library.
Jake Novak
You could have got it for A$50 in late fees at the library. Ryan. That's what's really going on here. Sure, they're radical leftists, but they're also. They're not. They don't. They're not thinkers. You can be a Scholar and memorize a lot of books, but so can I. We can all read that. And maybe I don't need to spend 200, 300 grand on a university education if I can read the books on my own.
Ryan Walters
No, that's a great clip, by the way. Yeah, no, that's exactly right. I mean, when you look at higher ed, you look at the American people have said, you know what, we're so tired of this. We're so tired of the nonsense. We want a real education here. And what you see here in Florida is these teachers unions, again, they are so radicalized. And I want to commend, you know, Governor DeSantis and the Commissioner of education here in Florida for fighting back, saying it's pretty common sense to say every teacher, we want you to post your syllabus online so parents actually know what you're supposed to be teaching in the classroom every day. We want to know what our kids are learning. But why do the teachers unions not want that? Because they are at war with parents. Because they want to indoctrinate your kids. They don't want you to have any idea what's being taught in the classrooms. I mean, there's no logical reason to hide from parents what their kids are being taught in the classroom. And again, a wake up call for the teachers unions. God gave kids to their parents, not to a teacher's union boss. Okay, so guess what? The parent gets to know everything that's going on in the classroom. And if the parent objects, you're not going to continue to do it. We're not going to continue to allow this transgender nonsense in the classroom. And again, transparency is key here. But just it is so telling to see the teachers unions fight back on no parents. We don't want you to know what your kids are being taught. And any good teacher would tell you, we want parents involved in our kids education. We want parents to be engaged in what's going on in the classroom. But the teachers unions have a radical view for the country, have a radical indoctrination scheme they're pushing on kids. So they don't want parents to know.
Jake Novak
Yeah, well, I'll tell you something. If they don't want parents involved, then stop charging tuition that no 19, 20 or 21 year old could pay on their own. If you want the parents out of it, then stop charging the money that only mom and dad can provide. Ryan Walters, thank you so much for joining us and enjoy the rest of your time in Florida.
Ryan Walters
Thank you, Jake.
Jake Novak
All right, coming up, the overall focus of the program today has been for me to make it clear that about half of our elected leaders, maybe more, are very openly trying to harm American citizens. That's not an exaggeration. And it also wouldn't be a surprise to one of the greatest political theorists of all time. David Brody and I will discuss that man on the left, Thomas Hobbes, when American Sunrise Early EDITION comes right back.

All right, we're sticking with New Orleans because we've decided this is an interesting shot. And we're looking for ice agents, we're looking for drunks, we're looking for those parades when they play the music during the funerals. That's, that's the French Quarter. New Orleans getting brighter every minute. We're seeing a few more humans out there, a couple people leaning against a building. That's always, that's a good shot. Welcome back. Hey, during this entire hour, sorry to bring it down again. I've sadly had to update you on all the stories that are showing that I think it's the entire political class, but at least the Democrats are really now deliberately fighting a war on the citizens of this country openly and Deliberately, they're putting American citizens in harm's way. And you know what? As soon as I saw that, as David Brody joins me now, David, it's just the latest example of how things I studied in my political theory classes, things that I thought would just remain theory, have come to pass in my lifetime. And so I was thinking particularly of this one quote that I really remember. It's what the great political philosopher Thomas Hobbes had to say about this kind of scenario in his masterpiece book, the Leviathan. This is his quote. The obligation of subjects to the sovereign is understood to last as long and no longer than the power lasteth by which he is able to protect them. Of course, he was talking about a sovereign that either basically can't or in some cases won't protect the public. I don't know what loyalty the people of New York City owe Letitia James, who has just released 7,000 violent criminals onto the streets, or the people of California have De Gavin Newsom, who's trying to attack ICE agents, removing illegal aliens, violent illegal aliens, and on. And Tim Walls, all and all down the line. We literally have sovereigns, in this case, governors and mayors and attorneys general who are trying. I can't believe I'm saying this, but are trying to kill American citizens. There's no. I'm sorry, there's no other way to say it now. There isn't any other way to say it. It's true. And I'm glad you brought up Hobbes. Excuse me, but here's the thing with Hobbes. I mean, of course, I don't know where you come down. I am. Okay. We can call him a great political thinker, but I don't agree with a lot of what he had to say, obviously. I mean, the guy wanted, in essence, absolute power and said you have to give up some of your freedoms to be protected by the sovereign. Well, I think the liberals would love that situation. I'm more into John Locke than Thomas Hobbs, FYI, and so is our American Constitution. But I do see some similarities, for sure. And look, this is what the liberals want. And so, you know, in a way, they're kind of invoking Thomas Hobbes, if you think about it. Yeah, no, it's very important that you mention that. Of course I don't want an absolute sovereign. But the point, the reason why I brought him up is that even he, who, who supported that theory, that idea, understood that there's a point where you no longer have to listen if your government and your leader is literally not protecting you or is trying to kill you, then you don't have to be loyal. Thank you. Thanks Tom. Well, I get it. But at least he said that. At least even he saw that. Yeah, we got to go. We're coming back. I had so much. Yeah, we have to go. I know, I know you do. American Sunrise, a big show coming up early edition comes back tomorrow at seven. See you there.

Podcast: Real America’s Voice | Host: Jake Novak | Guest Contributors: Virginia Allen, Ryan Walters, David Brody
The December 4th, 2025 episode of American Sunrise Early Edition positions itself as a critical report on what the hosts describe as a “coordinated war” by Democratic politicians and the political establishment against ordinary American citizens. The episode highlights recent law enforcement operations, government policy disputes, ideological battles on college campuses, and broader culture war dynamics. Regular contributors join to provide context and perspective from a distinctly conservative, pro-Trump angle, with the recurring themes of faith, freedom, and American values foregrounded throughout.
[02:36, 36:21, 37:12]
Summary: The host, Jake Novak, accuses Democrats not just of opposing Trump, but of orchestrating a broad attack on American citizens. Allegations include:
Notable Quote:
“It really is now clear that there’s an all out war against all American citizens… Full American citizens are being attacked in every way that you can imagine.” – Jake Novak [04:42]
Context: The segment links these events as part of a deliberate, coordinated attempt to destabilize law, order, and safety, framing recent news as evidence of this overarching trend.
[03:07, 08:50, 09:25, 36:21, 23:52]
Summary: Major ICE operations are underway in New Orleans and the Twin Cities, with the Trump administration ramping up deportations. Simultaneously, Democratic politicians and activists are accused of undermining ICE agents’ safety and effectiveness.
Insights:
Notable Quote:
“We have seen a 1,000% increase of assaults against ICE officers… we’re seeing opposition in these sanctuary cities.” – Virginia Allen [09:25]
Context: The narrative centers on the “war on citizens,” but also elevates law enforcement officers as a group under siege due to progressive policy and activism.
[03:23, 06:10, 06:27]
Summary: The show criticizes a Democratic senator (unnamed in this excerpt, but cited as Senator Reid later [37:12]) for arguing that Venezuelan drug traffickers are "just trying to make a living."
Host Reaction:
“So when he shot you in the head to take your money, he was, you know...he just knew again, that fallacy that poverty causes crime, it’s the other way around.” – Jake Novak [06:31]
Guest Analysis:
[10:49, 12:36, 14:21]
Summary:

“…Whoever pays for something should know what that money is going for.” – Virginia Allen [12:36]
[03:39, 14:21]
Summary: Secretary of State Marco Rubio is pushing to block visas for foreigners who express opposition to religious freedom, which is interpreted by the hosts as a positive measure given anti-Christian/Jewish protests.

[16:06]
Summary: Reflecting on backlash against Sydney Sweeney’s “good Genes” campaign with American Eagle, Novak celebrates the brand’s success as a victory over “woke radicals.” He notes the ad was produced internally (not by Madison Avenue) and credits it with boosting profits, advising businesses to avoid “getting political” unless it’s in support of patriotism.
Notable Quote:
“If you want to get political, just say you’re a big American patriot…when you start with the culture wars from the Left side of the aisle, you’re going to lose money.” – Jake Novak [16:06]

On higher-ed and Christian tradition:
“Universities in America were started as Christian divinity schools… If you keep the Bible out of university, you’ve changed the university into something else.” – Jake Novak [42:15]
On teacher union transparency:
“God gave kids to their parents, not to a teacher’s union boss… The parent gets to know everything that’s going on in the classroom.” – Ryan Walters [47:31]
The podcast maintains an urgent, combative tone throughout, framing recent policy and culture battles as existential threats to American life and values. The hosts and their guests position themselves as champions of faith, freedom, national heritage, and parental rights. Personal anecdotes, pop culture references (“Good Will Hunting”, Beastie Boys), and frequent jabs at “woke” opponents sustain an informal, direct style. The episode closes with a philosophical warning — when leaders fail to protect the public, the public owes them no allegiance, reasserting the hosts’ core theme: the duty to resist a political establishment perceived as hostile to its own citizens.
