Joining us now is Weather Nation's Tracy Anthony. Good morning to you on this Monday. So what's going on across this map, weather wise?
Tracy Anthony
Yeah, you know, we had a pretty active weekend with strong and severe thunderstorms across parts of Texas, Louisiana into Mississippi. Twelve confirmed tornadoes reported over the weekend. So you're looking at some images from the storms and the damage. Now that system has pushed out of the area. So that is some good news. But still it was very active and we're going to continue to have an active week this week. So we are expecting an atmospheric river to put California and the west coast in its sights. So the west coast is going to get soaked. We're Talking up to 8ft of snow into the higher elevations of the Sierra Nevada range. So, so this is beneficial snow, but eight feet, we're talking in just a couple of days, so going to cause some big issues. And we're talking about record warmth out across the Central Plains. This is also going to spark an extreme threat for fire danger. So northeast Colorado into Nebraska with this ridge of high pressure that is building. So with this high pressure center, we are allowing that warmth to lift farther north. We've been breaking records throughout the week and we could have more potential records throughout the through about Thursday and Friday. So look at Omaha 67, Chicago, you're going to be at 64 degrees. So you're starting off a little cooler in the 30s. But our daytime highs are getting well above average. We're talking 20, 30 degrees above average for this time of year. So very warm. And out across the east coast, temperature is still going to be pretty seasonable right around 40 degrees. But for the next 24 hours, most of the moisture is going to be impacting areas out west where dry across the Central Plains and a little rain for areas of south Florida. Florida. But as we get into the next couple of days, the heat is going to stick around and the moisture is going to stay out west. So we're just going to compound. On top of that, we do have one system that will skirt across the northern half of the nation that is going to give areas like northern Minnesota and New England some snow over the next three days. But really still the issues are going to be out west. And for the Central Plains as far as fire danger becomes a big concern this southeast, then we're going to have the heat starting to spread. And Brian, I know we were talking before the show that you're saying in Georgia, the daffodils have started to bloom and they're really going to have those spring like temperatures here for the end of the week. So lots going on from coast to coast between the heat, the fire danger. This is elevated to the highest tier. So this is where if a fire does spark, it's going to spread very rapidly. We're going to have winds up to about 50 miles per hour. And that's going to be very dangerous for anyone across the Central Plains. Now, there's one other thing I wanted to share with you. We have another volcano or lava fountain from Kilauea. This is the 42nd time we've had this fountain since the last eruption started. I think it was end of 2024. Just incredible views. I don't know if you've ever seen anything like this. I have, not with my own eyes.
Brian Glenn
Neither have I. It's amazing. A video. When you see any of these volcanoes erupt like that, it is just pure power from Mother Nature. And by the way, for those that are living in the south, let us know if the daffodils are coming up in your front or backyard. We'd love to hear that. Drop that down in the chats as well. And don't forget to scan that QR code and get your hometown forecast from Tracy. Tracy, thank you so much for joining us this morning. We'll see you on American Sunrise.
Tracy Anthony
Sounds good. See you soon.
Brian Glenn
See you soon. All right, back to our top story this morning, a partial government shutdown limited to the Department of Homeland Security. Now this continues and this is what's moving on right now. Congress is out of Washington for President's Day recess. So there's no vote scheduled until February 23rd. Now members are on standby in case they can be called. I don't anticipate that happening, but it could. But right now negotiations are at a standstill. A dispute centers on Democrats, Democrat demands. Now check this out. For ice reforms, they want to include agents wearing mask and requirement for mandatory body cams. I think really all of us are in support of the body cams. I think that's a good thing. But Republicans are pushing back, arguing that a mask ban could expose federal agents to doxing and retaliation. Now, President Trump said that he would sign a clean Funding bill if it reaches his desk now. So far it hasn't. Here's what we know. This is not a full government shutdown. The rest of the federal. Federal government is fully funded through September 30th. But DHS agencies are impacted. TSA, I just traveled the other day. You've got all these TSA agents out there. First thing I thought for a second was, well, let's see how long they last. Accordingly, they've gotten a paycheck. They will not miss a paycheck if this thing gets funded here in the next couple of weeks. Now, the Secret Service also border protection affected fema. Most of the employees are classified as essential, which means they will continue to work without immediate pay. Now, this is stretches. And now if this stretches until mid March, DHS employees will begin missing full paychecks. Officials warned that that could lead to airport staffing shortages and travel delays as this is also the second time this has happened this year. And it comes months after the last shutdown, which lasted 43 days, that affected just about everyone. Now, here's why all of this matters right now. First, this is a fight over border enforcement and agent authority. Now, Democrats say it's about oversight. Republicans say it's about protecting officers during a time of heightened threats. Now, secondly, this puts pressure on DHS without shutting down the entire government it's targeted. And third, if this extends long enough for DHS workers to miss paychecks, the political dynamics change quickly. Airport lines get longer and travelers feel it. And that's where the voters will notice on that. Now, right now, there's no deal. There's no vote, no movement until Congress and the Senate returns on February 23rd. Now, unless leaders strike an agreement during this break, we'll continue to track on all of this. Now, what's really important to point out here is that the White House is almost dealing directly with the Senate and directly with Congress. This is something that almost like leapfrog over some of the leaders in those respective positions. So they need to, if they work something out, Thune will call it back in session. Johnson will call it back in session. Not necessarily need Johnson, but really Thune to get this thing put on track. Now, if you look at most Americans, most Americans support the ICE and what they're doing, taking people off of the streets, criminals, hardened criminals, off the streets. And if there's any requirements right now that I think Republicans are willing to do is the body cams. I think the body cam makes sense. A lot of times. It's able to record interactions between ICE agents and potential suspects and have that all documented. But the mask is a no go on that. That does leave these ICE agents completely susceptible to being doxed and perhaps harassed in their home. So I don't see them backtracking on that. And then the also the judicial warrants that they want in order for these ICE agents to track some of these illegal immigrants down, that's what Democrats want. Republicans say that is also unneeded at this point and that would make it very difficult for someone to actually track some of these individuals down if they have to go through this judicial warrant process to get it in order to obtain some of these illegal aliens. So we'll keep an eye on that. All right. When we come back. This is interesting. The Treasury Department opens new whistleblower portal offering cash rewards to expose fraud and money laundering. Something else. And 18 major companies file for bankruptcy in just three weeks. What is the signal as we approach the opening bell? Stay with us. Right here on america's sunrise, Earthly EDITION continues. During the break.

That's a look at the stadium where the Denver Broncos play. Had a great season, by the way. I was rooting for them. Welcome back AMERICAN sunrise EARLY edition. I am Brian Glenn. As always, we invite you to enjoy the conversation on Getter, YouTube and Rumble. We're live. We're listening. We'll chat back. We'll do that. But let's take a closer look at what's moving from the Treasury Department this morning. Here's what's happening. The treasury has launched a new confidential whistleblower portal aimed at exposing fraud, money laundering and sanctions violations. And there's also a financial incentive for whistleblowers that could receive between 10 and 30% of the fines levied if their information leads to a successful enforcement action. Now the Treasury Department secretary, Scott Benson, calling it, quote, a way to ferret out waste, fraud and Abuse. Pretty cool. Here's what we know now. This whistleblower portal follows a fraud scandal in Minnesota where federal funds meant for social programs or allegedly have been misused by certain nonprofits. The Trump administration cites the case as a reason to expand financial enforcement. The portal is run through financial Finnish Financial Crimes Enforcement Network and it will accept tips involving money laundering, sanctions, invasion, bank secrecy act violations, fraud, tight tax exempt groups. The IRS is also launching a dedicated fraud tax force group organizing the message. Follow the money on all of this now here's why this matters. First, this is a money trail strategy rather than the broad political rhetoric the administration is signaling. Follow the money now. Second, this puts private citizens in the loop if you have some documentation, if you have evidence that there's a direct channel to the Treasury. And third, this could expand enforcement without expanding the size of government. Incentivized reporting can be forced, can be a force multiplier. The portal is live right now at finn@fincen.gov well watch how quickly those tips continue to move in. Now what I think why this is going to be so popular is to be look at how popular Doge was and all of the findings and the waste, fraud and abuse across the government that was hugely popular with the base, the American people, they wanted to root all of that out and so that's what Doge essentially did. Now this in a way being that it's a whistleblower kind of a tip line, it has the same type of effect. So we'll see how that progresses as we move into this, into this year, in this first quarter on all of this. Let's go ahead and get some, find out what's going on there as far as the tips on this whistleblower hotline and this is just one of the things now shift shifting gears from to a word from a word from our sponsor. We come back, the numbers that matter this morning, the markets, jobs and whatever is moving your money as America SUNRISE EARLY EDITION moves on after the break. All right. Welcome back on this Monday edition of American sunrise. I am Brian Glintz. Thanks so much for having with us this morning. We're tracking the White House, the markets and the stories shaping your day. As always, we invite you to join the conversation on getter, on YouTube, on rumble. We're live and we're listening. We're going to jump in the chat. I'm going to jump in the chats later and talk with you guys. Let's take a quick look of where the market stand and what's to watch as we move into this Monday. We closed out last week the dow just under 49.5, up slightly. The Nasdaq finished lower down about 50 points. Not a big move either way, but it caps off a strong, even historic month for the Dow. And I will say this, President Trump just recently said that he anticipates the dow even reaching 100,000 by the end of his administration. So I talked to one market analyst about this and said is it even possible? That seems like quite a bit. He says, look, we are closing the gap between 30 and 40. Took shorter amount of time to get to from 40,000 to 50,000. Only took about 645 business day calendar days, I should say business day market days to get to. So it is entirely possible when you look at these markets and the corporate earnings that we have and some of the tariffs that are coming in and the re manufacturing rebirth happening in America, it is possible we'll keep an eye on those markets as well. Now in the energy sector, oil close just down under $63 a barrel. Natural gas just under $3 and a 10 year yield sits at a 4.94%. Now here's the bigger signal. 18 US companies with more than $50 million in liabilities have filed for bankruptcy in just the three weeks. Now that's an average of six large filings a week, the fastest pace since the pandemic. Now if it comes after 717 large companies filed for bankruptcy in 2025. That's up 14% from year over year. So what's driving this? Analysts point out high interest rates, rates that began rising aggressively back in 2022. Inflation pressured, that squeezed consumers for two straight years. And I'll pause on that just for a second. I saw the other day that consumer credit card debt is almost at an all time high. So with the interest finances that are on credit cards, I know President Trump has dropped in recently a 10% on those credit cards. That's going to take a little bit of time to kick in. But consumer credit card debt is crippling the U.S. household. More than 70% of Americans say they are living paycheck to paycheck. And one of the factors is, is due to the high interest rate on their credit card debt. So that is definitely contributing to their consumer spending to these companies. Now, debt that became more expensive to service. Now this is showing up in retail, restaurants, transportation and even renewable energy. But here's why this matters. This does not signal a 2008 style collapse. Inflation has cooled to a 2.4% year over year. Now. Jobs grew faster than expected in January. Unemployment sits at a 4.3% and the Fed has already cut rates three times since last fall. So here's what we're seeing. It's not a crash. It's a stress test that companies have over leveraged during easy money years and now hitting the wall, stronger companies and adjusting. The key question now, does this wave stabilize as rates level off or does consumer confidence continue to weaken? That's what we're going to be watching as we head into the opening bell. But I think it's really important to point out also the small business confidence small business indicator was actually high under President Trump. And I think they understand that he is such a business minded person. You got Kelly Loeffler in charge of the Small Business Administration. She has done a phenomenal job visiting the field offices, getting the needs of what those offices want and what they need to service small business loans and to service a small business sector. So we'll keep an eye on that. All right, Shifting gears here, we have an exclusive update in the search for Nancy Guthrie now entering its third week. Over the weekend, the FBI said a recovery glove matches what was seen in the doorbell video. The sheriff also confirmed unknown DNA was found on the property and is now being tested. But here's what's new. Our own Kevin Posobec, field correspondent for Real America's Voice, has obtained correspondence with Sergeant Aaron Cross regarding this investigation. Kevin, you're joining us live from Arizona. What are we learning right now?
Kevin Posobec
Morning, Brian. I'm just getting in position here. So I am out front of Nancy Guthrie's house, and there are still plenty of media on the left and right. It's still a buzz even today going into the third week here. And there's cars going by, There's a police truck behind me keeping guard. So we're hearing new updates in that the gloves have matched a male suspect. Okay. And we're also hearing that Phoenix has called in yesterday, you know, from outside the county, and said that this may have been a burglary attempt going wrong instead of a kidnapping. So that was also dispelled by Sheriff Nanos himself. And in that, it, you know, he didn't want to make speculation. There's so many theories going around about speculation. Who done it, where she is, this and that. We even had an update from Savannah Guthrie herself yesterday. So, yeah, you asked me the last show how I was feeling, and, you know, I got to say I'm feeling hopeful still. Just like Savannah said, we're still believing. And she said that, you know, whoever has her, you know, there's, there's. It's never too late to do the right thing.
Brian Glenn
Now, when you, when you're out about the community, when you talk to neighbors and people who live in that community, what are they telling you? Are they scared of this possible suspect still being out? Did they feel endangered themselves?
Kevin Posobec
You know, that's a, that's an interesting question. They, they're. They're feeling tense. They're feeling disgruntled. And honestly, I gotta say, I've been trying to interview more and more locals walking their dogs and whatnot, and everybody's pretty tight lipped. They, they don't really like us being here, I have to say so. And we're even getting some pushback, Brian, from local media and even elected representative saying that, you know, there's these, these journalists and whatnot, spin up these wild stories and it discredits the whole thing. But really, I, you know, you're talking about the, the stocks and the Dow up and down. I mean, media here has given them a lot of boost in the economy, you know, having everybody stay.
Brian Glenn
Yeah, my, My, my message to the local media, people that are in Tucson, if they want guys like you, Kevin Masovic, on the ground trying to ask questions, trying to help police and maybe solve a cr. And they. When we had immigrants invade this country, murder, rape, assault our citizens, they were silent on a Lot of this stuff. So the local media, they pick and choose what stories they want to cover. They know. They know covering this story gets clicks. That's why you turn to every network, legacy news outlet. It is Nancy Guthrie, 24 7, because that's what they want to show. It's sensationalism. But for them to tell you that you need to leave. Come on. Because they don't follow the stories that count. They don't follow the stories that you've been following that Ralph's been following for the last four years. They were silent. They were silent on everything. Now they want to speak up. You know what? Don't listen to. I know you won't listen to Kevin because you're a strong individual and you're a good man. You'll do what you need to do. And I applaud you for being out there. I'm sorry I got on a soapbox, but that's. That local media stuff just bothers me.
Kevin Posobec
Well, they're all out here. They're all out here and, and mainstream media is out here too. But yeah, really, I mean, you got to look back. You know, the Gabby Petito case at the. Her body was found by, you know, quote unquote YouTubers. And if it wasn't for them getting, getting down on the ground following leads, they might not have found her. And, hey, they might not. You know, hopefully we'll all be in, in contribution here to finding Nancy. But, you know, anytime there's a new glove, anytime there's a new car that gets seized or a SWAT operation that happens, like we're going, we're going to be there. And I was out there in Minneapolis to cover all the protests there. So, yeah, that little bull, local media, but we're here.
Brian Glenn
That's another example how local journalists broke one of the biggest stories in this country about the fraud coming out of Minneapolis. With all of that, it wasn't the local media. And the local media probably showed up for one or two days and then they moved on. So they pick and choose what they want to cover. But I'm glad you're there today. Real quickly, Kevin, is Tucson moving toward kind of sanctuary style policies? I mean, as far as when it comes to illegal immigration? Do you hear anything about that?
Kevin Posobec
Yes, I sure have. So the board of supervisors is going to be presented with such tomorrow. Okay. There's going to be a zoom call. So on one hand we have Sheriff Nano saying that, oh, yeah, we're not moving towards this larger anti ICE movement. And on the other hand, yeah, the Board of Supervisors is implementing these policies. Granted, it's not going to say sanctuary city on the top of the paper, but these resolutions are being presented in which that federal agents won't be able to access any county resources and they're even going to need a warrant moving forward to even interview anyone that's detained, whether that's illegal immigrants or anyone involved in this case. So it basically creates a buffer between federal agents and county police. So why, why is that happening? And, and you know, at the end of the day, Brian, I mean, federal law supersedes state law, so it's all just a show. But really. Yeah, I have it posted and we can, we can follow up more with that that is coming tomorrow. So stay tuned for that.
Brian Glenn
Real quickly, last question. Is that Range Rover in the black glove, you think they're connected at all?
Kevin Posobec
You know, we're, we're, we have to wait and see. There was a slight development late last night with the Range Rover with the glove in that it was a male suspect. So they're looking for who sold this truck, who it belonged to. They believe it may have been the man who was detained at the Culver's who was later let go after he seemed cooperative. But there's even new, another individual as well that, that kind of matches the profile and who is not, has not as yet been involved in the case. But again, I, I can't confirm that. That's just speculation online. But there is, there is an angle to that Range Rover for sure.
Brian Glenn
All right, Kevin, well, thank you so much and once again, thank you for what you're doing on the ground. I know that the local news, the legacy media has missed so many stories in the last four to eight years and people like Real America's voice and you, we've been on those stories, so don't listen to them. I appreciate you being there in Arizona. Thank you, Kevin.
Kevin Posobec
Thank you so much. Brian, thanks for the shout out.
Brian Glenn

He's brave. Up next, America builds less than 1% of the world's commercial ships. The White House says that ends now inside the new maritime action plan and how it takes direct aim at China. Stick around. We'll come back in a few. Welcome to American Sunrise Early Edition. The show where faith, freedom and the values that built this nation take center stage foreign welcome back America's Sunrise EARLY Edition. I am Brian Glenn. Thanks so much for joining us on this Monday. Good to have you along the ride. President Trump unveils the America's maritime plan. This is a 40 page blueprint built around four pillars with the goal of the administration that calls the new maritime golden age. Now check this out. Here's what we know. The United States builds less than 1% of the world's commercial ships. Now we have only eight shipyards capable of building large ocean going vessels. China, well they dominate the global market. The White House says that's not just an economic problem, that's a national security problem. So here's the plan does the four big thing. It rebuilds domestic shipyards, it expands the US Flagged fleet and it invests in maritime workforce training and it strengthens the industrial supply chain. This is industrial policy but with America first edge to it. Now here's why this matters. The plan calls for modernization shipyards with new dry docks, cranes and digital technology. This is creating maritime prosperity zones to attract private capital, a multi year ship contracts to end the stop start cycle, tax incentives for U.S. maritimes and a fee on foreign built vessels entering U.S. ports. It also calls to expand cargo preference meaning more government shipments move U.S. built ships, U.S. flagships. Now this is about jobs. It's about competition with China and it's about making sure if a global crisis hits, America can build and move on its own fleet. The big question now is will Congress fund it? Oh, that's a big question. And how fast can that actually happen? Now this is one of those stories that doesn't dominate the headlines. It's not a sexy topic but it's very much needed right now. This could shape the next decade of shipbuilding sealif and Arctic access supply chains. The administration is clear if we don't build it, we defend on someone else's. And in 2028 that someone else is often China. Now I noticed the other day there's a shipyard in Port Arthur, Texas. They got the contract to build these new ice cutters that the Coast Guard needs desperately. So they got the contract for that. And it's going to require thousands of jobs on building these new ships. So it's a great boost for the local economy and that's what we need when it comes to defending our country. If we're not building the ships that we need here and we got to rely on another country to build them, we're done, we're cooked. As the millennials say. We need that manufacturing to stay here in this country. That's why it's vital that we bring this manufacturing back. That's why it's vital when you look at the steel industry to make sure we bring, we keep the US Steel in the US we keep building all of this that we need to build these ships. And that's what makes President Trump one of the reasons why he's such a great president. He had that vision of America first. Yes, America first means policies. It means putting America first. It means closing the border, it means economically putting it first. But it also means building our assets, keeping what we need to keep this country going. We make that built. We build that stuff here. We keep that in progress. And not only is it great for the economy, for manufacturing jobs and all the second and third dairy jobs, restaurants, hotels, things like that, that benefit from people, you know, from businesses coming in building these products. It's great for the economy, but it's good for national pride as well that we build these ships here. We're going into the golden age of shipbuilding. I love this. I really do. I love this. Because if you really look at how we are being outpaced by the world and that especially under Joe Biden, he had no preference at all to build anything here. We he sent jobs elsewhere, neglected our military. President Trump comes in, rebuilds the military, puts pride back in the military. Secretary of War Pete Headseth made it now, you know, something that people want to do. The young people in America did not want to join the military under Joe Biden. They had no pride in the military. And I say that and I'll probably get skewed in the comments, but they didn't enlisting rates were down. That's a fact. President Trump comes in, revitalizes the American spirit. Secretary of War Pete Hecseth comes in, brings, gets the wokeness out of the military. He's brought it back. So recruitment levels are at all time highs. We've got now men and women that want to sign up and fight for this country. So why not give them the best tools possible, put them in the best ships possible made right here in the US I think it's great. So we'll keep an eye on all of that as we move into the first quarter of the year. And quickly, this in sports this morning. This is great. A new report claims that US Born Olympian Elaine Gu was paid millions by China in 2025. The Wall Street Journal says the Beijing budget document showed Gu and figure skating Zhu Zi probably mispronounced that. Received $6.6 million last year. The document also listed nearly $14 million over three years after went public. Their names were removed goo completely for China competed for China. And this has already earned tens of millions of dollars in endorsements. The 2026 Winter Games will be her second Olympics. Interesting story. All right. Also we, by the way, we also had the Daytona 500 this past weekend. I don't know if you watched it. It was great. Congratulations to Michael Jordan's team who took home the trophy there at the NASCAR's first. It's, it's interesting about NASCAR. They start their season with the biggest race of the season. It's like the NFL starting the super bowl, that being week one. So congratulations to Michael Jordan. Okay, when we come back to the morning Exchange, David Brody joins us for a lot more from ship building to shutdowns. What is all this? Signal for the midterms as we close out this hour. Stay with us. We'll be back here in just a few. All right, welcome back. A live shot at the Lincoln memorial there in D.C. welcome back. Brian Glenn here as we close out this Monday edition. Here's our exchange. Let's bring in the good, the one and only David Brody to wrap up today's hour and reshape the day. If we could, could we reshape the day? Is that possible?
David Brody
I don't know. I mean it's early. Why not? Let's reshape it. The way this news cycle's going, Brian, we could reshape it five or six times throughout the day.
Brian Glenn
Is that not the truth? You know, we were talking about this government shutdown and how the Democrats it's it all. They're blaming it on ice. Well, ice is already fun. That's funded for years. They got funded in the big beautiful bill. They're upset about the mask, which you and I can both agree that those should not be removed. Right? I mean, that's correct. Law enforcement. I am a fan of body cams though. For police body cams, I think it works in our favor because they can record all the insanity that's going on. Would you agree with that?
David Brody
Yeah, I would agree with the body cams for sure. And that's low hanging fruit too for Republicans. I mean they can agree on that like tomorrow. Well, they already have agreed on it.
Brian Glenn
That's fine.
David Brody
So Kristi Noem put out some stuff.
Kevin Posobec
Yeah.
Brian Glenn
And then judicial warrants in order to go get these illegal criminal aliens. I mean to think that the time that it would take to go through all of that when they simply need to go in there and get them and get them out, I think we had to get warrants on that. You would see those apprehension rates go way down.
David Brody
Well, so that's where it gets a little trickier. Right. I mean, so most of this immigration enforcement typically is done through administrative warrants, not judicial warrants. And so, you know, at that point you're basically asking, the Democrats are asking the administration to say slow down on your interior immigration enforcement, which they're not going to do. So I don't, I see that as a non negotiable situation for the White House. They're not going to give way and just let it just be judicial warrants. I mean judicial warrants basically means there's a really bad dude in there and we have a judge that's going to, has already signed off and we can just go storm right in into their home. Those are few cases, there's not many of those. Typically, as you know, Brian, it's an administrative warrant which basically just says knock, knock and then if they don't come out, if they don't let you come in, then you can't come in to their home unless they invite you in. And that's where this whole thing has been kind of murky. So that's why most of this is administrative warrant stuff. So I don't think that's going to, I don't think the administration's going to just go with judicial warrants. That's just not going to work at all.
Brian Glenn
Okay, let's shift our attention to the SAVE Act. I know that seems like a no brainer as far as securing our elections. We need that to happen sooner than later. Of course that's, we've got some holdouts in the Senate. It doesn't look like we're going to get rid of the filibuster, which would, I think, I think would push this thing through. So let's go over what the, what the Democrats are all mad. They don't want photo id, Right. They don't want it. They don't think it's a necessity. They think it's a problem or a hassle for someone to show a photo ID to vote. And they don't necessarily think it's right for have someone to prove that their actual citizenship to register to vote. Thoughts on that?
David Brody
Well, the thought on that is the big plan by Democrats, right, which is a totally remake the electorate to the point where they can be in power for eternity, if you will, or at least here on earth. I mean, that's the plan, right? I mean, you gotta change the census. I mean, that's what they're trying to do here, you know, so if you make sure people don't have an ID to vote, then you're okay with people that are either shady or illegal, whatever the case may be, voting for Democrats. And then, of course, you have the immigration situation, where open borders means, you know, let the census change. Because the key, and this is what the Trump administration, as you know, Brian, has been fighting in the courts, which is how you measure the census, whether or not illegal immigrants will be counted or not. Of course, under the Biden administration, others, they had been counted. So, I mean, that's what the whole ball game's about, just changing the electorate and having the Democrats stay in power forever, basically. But, yeah, I mean, the SAVE act is. Yeah, I mean, come on, it's voter id. It's amazing to me, Brian, that the Democrats. I shouldn't say it's amazing. It's kind of now been pretty much what we've come to expect with the Democrats that they're against. Just basic stuff that the majority, the super majority of Americans are for, which is voter id, kicking criminals out of the country that are illegal. I mean, this type of stuff. I mean, instead you got Chris Van Hollen having martinis or whatever he's doing with that. You know the Maryland dad, right? The Maryland man. You know this. I mean, they're on the wrong side of nearly every issue. And it's just political. It's political malpractice, Brian.
Brian Glenn
It's political malpractice. It is. And I had this conversation with, with a liberal friend the other day. I said, what do you guys stand for? Because all I see from the Democrats, it's just anti Trump. It doesn't matter what the stance is. It's just stop Trump. Anti Trump. I said, you guys don't offer up any solutions to solving problems. You just kind of create more problems and you just want to stop Trump. And I don't think that's going to resonate with American people in the midterms. I really don't. And some people can disagree with a lot of different issues going on right now. But, David, you and I both know these people start to file their taxes or they start to get refund checks back And I've seen some videos. I was watching Steve Gruber show before this one, and he played a video of a girl on Instagram that said, hey, we're getting a big fat check back from the government because no tax on overtime. It's stuff like that that wins elections that.
David Brody
Exactly. And we're starting to see economic recovery already in some of these numbers that have come out in the last month or so. And we haven't even hit July when the big beautiful bill is really going to kind of ramp up and take effect. So this whole thing about Republicans are doomed in the midterm. Look, I get it. I mean, you know, there's a lot of problems and warning signs and all of that. But let's see where the economy goes. I mean, people, at some point, if this thing starts to really turn, and I think it's turning already, but if it's really going to turn to the point where it's going to be a net positive for Republicans, well, that changes the whole complexion of the midterm. So I'm not quite ready to write off Republicans quite yet, especially in February of 2026 when we got the midterms. What, how many months away? Eight months away. I don't know what it is.
Brian Glenn
Yeah, I know that down in Georgia, early voting starts, I think in like about a week for some of the special elections there in the 14th district. And there's some other races around the country that early voting starts here the 1st of March. So we are often running on that as well.
David Brody
Hey, Brian, can I just go back real quick to something you said about Trump? Democrats have really screwed this up because obviously they went anti Trump, they went into derangement syndrome, and they got Trump won. Then they got Trump 2.0. Even after all of the indictments and everything, they still couldn't put him down. If you will beat them down politically, I should say. But what's interesting to me here with the Democrats, if they had played their cards right, you know, the deal Trump is an art of the deal guy. The Democrats could have gotten stuff with him if they had played nice, you know, stroked the ego a little bit, you know, and basically done, you know, met him somewhere, if not in the middle center.
Brian Glenn
Right.
David Brody
They just would never do it. They would never do it. So they've shot themselves in the foot. They could have gotten a whole lot more in these Trump years, but they just refused to do it because of their tds.
Brian Glenn
Yeah. And they have the wrong leaders that are bringing these negotiations to the table. You're Absolutely right. Democrats have dropped the ball on this. They have every opportunity to get a good deal on behalf of their constituents and on behalf of America, but they failed to do that. David Brody, you're always the best.
