American SUNRISE EARLY EDITION on Real america's VOICE starts now.
Brian Glenn
All right. Good morning. Here's how you can start your day with us. Take a look at the bottom of the screen right now. There's a QR code that is your ticket to join the Weather Nation family. You can scan it, get connected. And even better, your hometown forecast could be next. So let's head over to Real America's voice chats on Getter Rumble and YouTube during the 9am hour of America's sunrise. If you're selected, we'll deliver your hometown forecast live. So jump in, be a part of the fun and join us and on Weather nation. So joining us now from Weather nations is Tracy Anthony. Good morning, Tracy. On this Monday, you know, we talked about it last week going into spring break. Well, it looks like if it's not the weather, it's the tsa, it's the, it's the lines at the airports. But I think once people get to the airport, it looks like we have some fair weather shaping up for parts of the destinations for spring break.
Cancer Survivor Advocate
Yeah, really, The Gulf coast and the Southeast, they're going to have record warmth here through the start of the week. So if this week's your spring break, that's nice. The damper for travel and air travel will definitely be the severe weather threat. So we had a big spring storm move across the nation last week that did spark, you know, a handful of tornadoes over the weekend. We did have a handful of fatalities, unfortunately. Grapefruit size hail with the strongest severe thunderstorm. You're looking at damage from a tornado in South Michigan on Friday evening. So some homes were damaged and destroyed and the rating on that one going to or looking like it will be an EF3. So very powerful storm systems. We're tracking the threat for more strong to severe thunderstorms here throughout the next couple of days. And today it's going to be areas across Arkansas all the way down through the mid south area. So Mississippi, Mississippi, Alabama under that level two threat. So Monday for today, that's that severe threat area. Tuesday we have another system that's going to be rolling off the Rockies, impacting areas from the Great Lakes all the way down through Central Texas. And then by midweek it's going to slowly continue to shift to the east. So millions once again at risk for severe storms. This week we are going to have that heat for the Southeast and the Central Plains. So temperatures going getting close to about 80 degrees. Areas like Wichita, this is where we will have some fire danger as well. And you can see out in the Pacific Northwest, it's kind of the only area that's getting some of the winter weather still because the rest of the nation is feeling temperatures well above average. The Twin Cities 17 degrees above normal for this time of year. So we're feeling spring like temperatures across most of the country. And we are talking the potential for, for close to 150, even close to 200 record daytime highs over the next three days. So from areas of the Texas panhandle all the way to the east coast and from Maine all the way down through Florida, we could be breaking daytime record highs. So that heat is what helps fuel the storms. And by Tuesday we even have an enhanced risk for severe. So that's a level three out of five severe weather threat. And that does include Chicago, the Windy cities. So could definitely have some good sized hail and tornado potential here through the week this week. So, Brian, we are moving into springtime and severe weather season full speed. It started last week. So very important to also have the Weather Nation app so you can get those severe weather alerts to your phone.
Brian Glenn
Yeah. Over the weekend I had some family members in Tulsa and they were all on tornado watch as there were tornadoes dropping around that area. So this is the time of year we appreciate get that Weather Nation app, download it on your phone and get those notifications. Tracy, thank you so much. We'll see you back on america's SUNRISE with one of our lucky hometown forecast selections. Thank you, Tracy. All right. Now back to our top story. The war with Iran entering its second week and it's escalating. More than 4,500 US and Israeli strikes plummeting Iranian targets. The Navy crippled, the Air Force gutted. Command centers hit. Oil facilities in Tehran is burning. Yet Iran is still firing back. Meanwhile, American forces are moving in the USS Gerald Ford carrier group racing toward the region. Reinforcements following as allies shift naval power into the Mediterranean. In the coming weeks, we'll decide everything. Can Iran sustain the fight? Can the US Keep pressure on as well and reopen the Strait of Hormuz? Joining us now is Brandon Weickert. He is a senior editor at 1945.com and the author of the Shadow Iran's Quest for Supremacy. Brandon, with both sides kind of digging in right now, what does the next phase of this war look like? I was watching this morning some of the reports from the Strait of Hormuz. Some of these oil executives are very leery right now. These tankers making it through there, obviously President Trump promising some guarantee, some security guarantees. But when you talk about these drones that they're using right now that only cost thousands of dollars for hitting these billion dollar assets, this phase of the war seems like the advantage in in some parts is to the Iranians because they have less invested in attacking that area.
Brandon Weickert
Well, it's very interesting because actually, technically speaking, the Iranians never close the Strait of Hormuz down. They said they were going to. And that was enough to trigger the fear scenarios in the minds of all these executives. And so it's amazing how just one sentence can send the entire world economy into a death spiral. And that is what it is in right now. Our economy is in a death spiral. And it is entirely because of the war. The only ships, only eight in the last 48 hours, I believe eight have passed through the Strait of Hormuz. These are all Chinese and Iranian flagged container ships that's a 94% decrease in the regular traffic through that waterway, which is a massive problem for the. The global economy. So The Iranians have 88,000 more than that, actually, 88,000 drones. And they're still churning them out, by the way. Uh, and they have dispersed them to hardened facilities. They're not in a centralized place. The US military loves floating around these numbers. 3,000 sorties flown since the war began. That doesn't mean anything. They have not destroyed the missile cities underground or the facilities harboring those drones because they can't find them, because they are dispersed and hardened. And so we won't know these drones are coming at a container ship, for instance, until they've already been fired. And then the hunting begins. And it's much harder to shoot those drones down because they're small, maneuverable, and hard to track. So the war is going, going to get longer and harder as. And it's going to basically really damage the US Economy and it will take a long time to recover from. And I want to also add, Qatar is permanently shut. Excuse me, but Qatar is permanently shut down. The Saudi oil production is degraded. Israel has lost power in major cities in the last 24 hours, and their oil was destroyed. Their oil production. Iran has destroyed also the Azerbaijan pipelines that are feeding Israel their oil. And yeah, the Iranians have lost a lot of their oil capabilities, but the Iranians are in it, you know, for everything now, so they don't care as long as they survive.
Brian Glenn
Yeah. Let's talk about the leadership or the. What would be the assumed leadership of Iran, from what I'm understanding that the potential person that would ultimately take over one of the. I guess one of the sons of the former leader is actually more radical and more militarized than his father. Am I off on that or is that about right?
Brandon Weickert
Yes, that is. That is my understanding. And of course, remember we.
Narrator/Announcer
We blew up.
Brandon Weickert
And this is. I'm not weeping over Kimani at all, but we did blow up his family in the bunker with him, as well as his little grandkids. So I am sure that his son taking over is not going to be so quick to forget what happened. I want to also make it clear. Yesterday Senator Kennedy from Louisiana said an absurd thing on one of the other network that. Well, technically, regime change has already happened. Well, no, it has not. They replaced one Islamist leader with another. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps remains in control. There has not been a revolution as promised. In fact, because the Israelis, irresponsibly and against our wishes, destroyed those oil refineries in northern Tehran and created a toxic soup above the city. What they have done now is actually weakened the protesters ability to overthrow the government and they have rallied people around the regime. The Persian nationalism is now in full swing and they are standing with their government because they realize, as President Trump said the other day, the goal now is not just unconditional surrender, but to break Iran up into smaller countries. So here we are, it's like the worst case scenario.
Brian Glenn
And you know, real quickly, about under a minute left, we, we've seen this, this war extend way beyond, beyond the regions it looks like in the last couple of days, US Embassies in Norway, in Sweden were also hit with some type of drone or some type of explosive device. So that even more I think brings in that region of the world into this conflict and, and really causes a lot of chaos as well.
Brandon Weickert
Yeah, it's a world war now. It's the very beginnings of an actual kinetic world war. It's not going to end soon. In fact, I'm quite convinced that one of the parties involved, probably Israel, it's getting so desperate they're probably going to use a nuclear weapon if this thing doesn't end soon. And it's not going to end soon.
Brian Glenn
That's used the N word there. And I think a little. Yeah, real quickly you've got a lot of coverage. I mean your day starts early. You go through all the networks with yourself. Best once again, that website for to follow you and social media as well. Brandon.

Welcome back. America's Sunrise early edition live look at Doha, Qatar. Lots going on over there. Welcome back. Brian Glenn here. Good to have you with us this morning. We're tracking the White House, the markets and all the latest in the Middle East. Join the conversation on Getter, YouTube and Rumble. Now let's check on Wall street as we head towards the opening bell. Markets close lower to end the week as investors reacted to a weak employment data. The Dow Jones falling 453 points, closing at 47, 501. The Nasdaq dropping 361, finishing at 22, 387. And meanwhile in the energy markets, U.S. crude spiking more than 12%, closing at $90 a better on Friday. Now it's up a little bit now. Global benchmark bridge finishing near $93 a barrel. And the national average of gasoline now around $3.32 a gallon. That is up now. Overnight prices surged to pass $100 a barrel in global trading. The G7 nations are holding emergency talks on a possible strategic reserve release amid the Hermos disruption. And now all eyes are on Wall street as traders brace for the opening bell at 9:30am all right now from Wall street to the cyber war. Iranian drones targeting commercial data centers in the Middle east. Facilities hit in the UAE and near the US Navy's 5th Fleet base in Bahrain. These cloud networks don't just power apps. They also support military, logistics, intelligence and command systems. The impact digital networks disrupt across the region. Banking, communications and government systems are all affected. A remainder of the Internet is now a Part of, of the battlefield. Joining us now is retired Air Force Brigadier General Robert Spalding. He's the CEO of Cimpri, a company building secure 5G networks designed to protect critical data and infrastructure. General, what does this type of attack tell us about the modern wars that are now being fought? So much investment going into AI and data centers. Well, now those are potential targets in this war.
Robert Spalding
Absolutely. You know, we've seen the advancement of war on the battlefield in Russia and Ukraine with using drones, and those can go anywhere. If you remember, we've had drones flying over our bases, Chinese drones and other drones doing spy activities. Now, those could be turned into weapons. And, you know, if you look at the value in our country, just like you said, it's coming out of the AI industry and there's just a couple of big companies, you take down their data centers, whether it's Elon, Musk, Grok or Open, OpenAI or Anthropic, that's a lot of value that comes out of the US economy. So it becomes this big, fat, juicy target for. For Iranian terrorists. Terrorists to use drones to attack those targets.
Brian Glenn
I guess when you kind of look back at previous wars, this type of industry wasn't even around then. So it wasn't an option for an enemy to target. But now it does have a critical part in our economy when you look at the investments and how much it's worth. So, yeah, this takes on a new dimension here. You know, we were talking about this, this war spreading throughout the region, hitting areas in Norway and in Sweden as well, targeting specific, you know, Amazon Web Services and things like that. If you work for one of these companies and you've got a data center and anywhere in Europe, I would imagine right now your head is on a swivel.
Robert Spalding
Well, think about it. These drones are easily shipped. They're all over the United States right now. So it's not just Europe. It's just, you know, this hasn't come to roost. So I definitely think the data centers are going to be big targets. I also think airports are going to be big targets. We saw Dubai. Think about what happens to US Air traffic when they start targeting airliners taking off at landing at some of the big major airports. So we haven't configured our society to protect ourselves from these kinds of threats. And it's going to take a while to do that. But, you know, in the meantime, there's a huge threat over our head because of this war in the Middle East.
Brian Glenn
Yeah, General spotting. Thank you so much for your time. How can somebody follow you right now on social media or best website for that. You post up your information.
Robert Spalding
Yeah, I'm on X at Robert Spalding. You know, go to our website Semper Sempre AI Learn about, you know, what we're trying to do to protect digital infrastructure.
Brian Glenn
Yeah, I would imagine it's a whole new different game here, General. And if these companies, if they need your services especially to lock things down, now is the time.
Robert Spalding
That website one more time, it's www.semper. that's S E M P R E A I gotcha.

Thanks so much for joining us on this very busy morning and as always we're following the developments around the country and around the world. You can join us on getter YouTube and take a closer look at that. Now to Capitol Hill where lawmakers are preparing for high stakes briefing in the war with Iran. Top congressional leaders set to receive a closed door update from the administration on U.S. strategy and the war powers. The briefing coming as the conflict enters its second week and questions are now growing about how long this campaign will last. Joining US Now, Real America's Voice national political reporter Neil McCabe. Neal, what are you hearing right now on Capitol Hill ahead of this briefing
Neil McCabe
right now, you know, this is a four, this is sold to us as a four week campaign. We're basically two weeks in. And so people want to know what's going on. I think a lot of congressional leaders are going to ask what's going on with the Kurds, because there is tremendous support for the Kurds on Capitol Hill. And there was a lot of excitement that the Kurds were going to, in fact, be our proxy as boots on the ground. The president put the kibosh on that and, you know, he has his reasons. But, you know, people want to know where, what, what is the next phase? Are we going to have boots on the ground? That's really all of Washington is buzzing right now about what do we do with, you know, have troops actually seizing property. There's talk of special operations going in to some of these nuclear sites because a lot of this enriched uranium is buried under the rubble, buried under the under these mountains. But that means the Chinese or the Russians or anybody can just grab it. We should be grabbing it first. All that will be part of the hearing. And then afterwards, congressional leaders will say, hey, we're satisfied, we're not satisfied. I think what's going to happen right now is the Democrats and the Republicans will pretty much follow the partisan script. I don't see any breaking of ranks on the Republican side. Brian okay.
Brian Glenn
And also over the weekend, a lot of buzz about possibly implementing the draft or the need to implement the draft. A lot of controversy on that. A lot of people, obviously, as you can imagine, spoke out publicly against that. What are you hearing? Is there any type of other chatter about a possible draft in regards to this war?
Neil McCabe
I think it's an interesting discussion. Economist Milton Friedman convinced Richard Nixon to end the draft. It was actually part of his 1968 sort of campaign promise. I think he finally got rid of it by like 1970. Jimmy Carter, after the Russians invaded Afghanistan, reinstituted registration for the draft. So, you know, once you turn like, I think it was what, 17, I had to register for the draft just like everybody else. I don't think the draft is really a starter right now because the National Guard and the Reserves have been set up as your draft. And so if you actually need troops, you just call up a National Guard or a reserve unit. And that's sort of the way things have been structured. If this war goes longer, obviously you know, a draft would, would come into play. I just don't, I just don't see it happening this quick right now.
Brian Glenn
Brian Yeah, I would agree with you on that as well, Neil. Okay, let's turn our attention to the Senate. Obviously Mark Wayne Mullen's been called on to head up DHS on that front. But you explained in the break, and I think it's important for our viewers to know this, that he doesn't automatically vacate that Senate seat until he's confirmed. So where does that put it any, in terms of any potential Senate vote and what are we looking at in regards to something passing with the majority?
Neil McCabe
Yeah, so what's going to happen is he's going to maintain that seat until confirmation and then the governor of Oklahoma, Kevin Smith, he'll have the opportunity to fill that. But what, what it does present is an interesting dynamic here in Washington is that if you're going to replace a cabinet officer with, you know, that's someone who has to be confirmed. So if you trigger a confirmation fight, it has to be a Republican senator from a state with a Republican governor otherwise you put the majority in jeopardy. And so you can't pull somebody from outside the Senate because senators will give their colleagues a hall pass but you know, they're not going to give some outsider a hall pass. So it's a very tricky situation for the President. I think he executed it well with Mullen. What's interesting though is that the White House withdrew from Minnesota, sort of cut a deal to settle. Minnesota got, got rid of Kristi Noem, but they got nothing for it. These are what I would think would be negotiating points where they say hey, why don't you fund Homeland Security and we'll move Kristi Noem somewhere else. Why don't you fund, you know, Homeland Security will shut down the Minnesota operation. It seems like you're giving away two of your, two of your key leverage points. Brian.
Brian Glenn
Yeah, real quick, we gotta go. But we'll continue our conversation on Tina Peters. We'll get the very latest on that. I know that the governor there in Colorado was pushing for that. Narrator/Announcer
Welcome to american sunrise early edition, the show where faith, freedom and the values that built this nation take center stage.
Brian Glenn
All right. Welcome back, America SUNRISE EARLY edition. I am Brian Glenn. I'm so glad you're with us this morning. We're very busy as always. We're following developments across the country and around the world. You can join us on Getter, YouTube and Rumble. Let's head over to the Denver newsroom for the latest headlines with the one and only. Good morning, Terrence Bates. How are you?
Terrence Bates
Hey.
Brandon Weickert
Hey, Brian.
Terrence Bates
All is well. Good morning. Happy Monday to you and all that other good stuff. Lots of developments happening over the weekend. Iran has its next supreme leader after Mojtaba Khamenei was named the new ruler of the embattled Islamic Republic. The 56 year old is one of the sons of the late ayatollah who was killed in US Strikes just days into the current war. Khamenei was never or has never been elected or even appointed to a government position. And he's said to hold even more hardline views than his father. Meantime, while you were sleeping, Iran ramped up attacks on Israel and its neighboring Gulf countries. Also happening over the weekend, the US Military confirming a seventh death related to Iranian retaliatory strikes. The latest death happened in Saudi Arabia, Brian, where the soldier was stationed. And there are some major concerns being raised this morning, Brian, as it relates to this latest supreme leader. Given that he does have probably even more hardline stances than his father, it seems it will be the same in terms of leadership moving forward. And obviously, there was a hope across the region and probably much of the world that there would be a change in leadership, a change in political philosophy in the Islamic Republic.
Brian Glenn
Yeah. Terrence, we were speaking with Brandon Weikart earlier in the show a little bit about this and how this new leader is much more radical, much more militarized than his father. And you can imagine his mindset being now that many in his family, kids as well, have been murdered by the, you know, by Israeli and U.S. forces. But this is what we're dealing with right now. So we'll, we'll I know President Trump has pretty much been very forceful as far as saying he would like to have some type of part in picking the new leader. But this is who we got right now.
Terrence Bates
Yeah, it's going to be interesting to see how all of that unfolds. Another interesting story back home. President Trump drawing a line in the sand saying that he will not sign any bills until the Safeguard American voter eligibility or SAVE act is approved by the Senate. 47 made the announcement on Truth Social writing in one post, quote, the United States Senate should focus on exclusively, if necessary, the Save America Act. It's what everyone wants. In a separate post, he emphatically writes, pass the Save America act now. It's all people care about. President Trump calling for a full version to be passed, not a watered down measure that would include voter ID and proof of citizenship. The Commander in Chief also wants no mail in ballots at the except for military illness or disability. He's encouraging Senate Majority Leader John Thune to use the talking filibuster in order to get the measure over the finish line and to circumvent the 60 vote threshold to pass it. And Brian, this is another major story. The president really being forceful here saying, look, I'm not doing anything until you pass this act. And that puts a lot more pressure on John Thune, the Republican head of the US Senate, to really get, get moving, let's put it that way. I had some, I had another word and another thought in mind, but it probably wasn't TV friendly. So to get, let's put it that way.
Brian Glenn
Yeah, after 11pm we can use that dialogue. I will say this, don't expect it to happen. I don't think anytime soon because this is the same group of senators that just recently refused to reduce the amount of aid that we were given refugees. And all of the fraud, the waste, the abuse that we found come out of some of these investigations and still we are unwilling to reduce the amount of money that we give refugees. So I don't expect, look, all bets are off right now. Thune, Cornyn and many others have shown their true colors on whether or not they're really committed to passing the SAVE Act. They could have done it. They can do it right now, get rid of the filibuster. Terrence, they don't want to do it.
Neil McCabe
Yeah.
Terrence Bates
And that's the tough part. And the fact that the president has had to take this sort of really hard line stance in order to try to get it over the finish line, that speaks volumes, I think, Brian.
Brian Glenn
Yeah, you're right. I Mean, this is where we're at. The Senate is what I've always called a place that good things go to die. And unfortunately, I hope the SAVE act doesn't die in the Senate. Terrence, thank you so much as always. We appreciate it.
Terrence Bates
Always good to talk to you, Brian. Have a great rest of the day.
Brian Glenn
Yeah, we'll see you here in a few. All right. Now to California. A major political shift may be underway. A voter ID initiative surging onto the ballot in November after organizers submitted more than 1.3 million signatures. Now, the measure would require voter ID, verify citizenship and clean up the state's voter rolls. Supporters call it common sense. And as frustration grows over political corruption, rising crime and worsening homeless crisis and the sanctuary state policies now setting up a showdown with Governor Newsom this fall. Joining us now is Riverside county sheriff in California, gubernatorial candidate Chad Bianco. Chad, Sheriff, is this the first start of a political turning point in California of at least getting to the point, Sheriff, that we can show voter id? Big accomplishment, right?
Chad Bianco
Yes, absolutely. We are, we're super excited to get this on the ballot. Unfortunately, for this election, it's not going to work. We're going to have to beat them at their own game. But from elections this point forward, we know that we're going to, this is going to pass. It's overwhelmingly popular here. And from, you know, we, we know that hundreds of thousands are going to be removed from the voter rolls that should not be there.
Brian Glenn
And we know that voter ID is very supportive amongst Latinos, African Americans, white Republican, Democrat, independents. It seems like it's a no brainer, but there are a few holdouts in this. And obviously, let's talk about the reasons why they don't want the state of California and really other states to require voter id. What's their, what's their purpose behind this?
Chad Bianco
Well, you gotta, you gotta remember who you're talking to. I mean, my life is about investigation. And when something does doesn't make sense, you go down that path to find out why. So this particular case, if you don't want voter ID and 80% of the population does, the 20% that want it know that they're cheating and they want to keep that cheating going. They know that they've rigged the system. They know that illegal people are voting. They know that dead people are voting and they're using that to their advantage and they don't want that going away. That's the only reason.
Brian Glenn
Yeah, I noticed over the weekend. My son lives over in the West Hollywood area. He posted up some. He didn't post up, but I saw some social media post about $8 gas in parts of California. And I guess a lot of this has to do obviously with the war in Iran and the disruption of oil. But from a California standpoint, what could you do from a legislative position to lower or give some type of relief to citizens of California to give them better gas prices?
Chad Bianco
Yeah, we're going to have the lowest gas prices in the country. We'll remove all the regulations that's killing our oil industry. We have more oil than almost all states. We will never, ever, ever run out of oil. But yet we import 80% of our oil from the Middle East. So that's why we are so expensive right now. With me as the governor will be oil independent. We'll use all of our own oil, we'll refine the oil that we have here and we will have the lowest price gas in the country.
Brian Glenn
I like that. I know someone that I lived out there for about 15 years in the Newport beach area. This is. And it was expensive back then. I can only imagine what the gas is right now. Okay, in terms of taxes, what can you do to relieve the overall tax burden of Californians?
Chad Bianco
Yeah, after we make ourselves oil independent, which will take a couple of years for sure, then. Well, during the meantime we'll be working on the tax code because we'll just be like Texas, we'll be like Alaska. And once we're oil independent, we will no longer have our California state income tax. Right now we have the highest income tax in the entire country and we're going to make it to where we're zero, just like those other good states where everyone are leaving for and we're going to make California the place where everyone wants to move to again.
Brian Glenn
I like that. Okay, homelessness. Historically, California has just thrown more money at fighting homelessness, but it hasn't gotten any better. What's the new approach to reducing the amount of homelessness in California?
Chad Bianco
New approach is easy. We address it for what it is. It's a drug addiction, an alcohol addiction, a mental health illness crisis. And if we keep calling it homeless, we're never going to get through it. It's just a money laundering scheme for politicians. So I actually care about those people. I feel horrible that we allow them to live on the street, that we've created a process that gives them drugs, allows them to get drugs, it's enabling them to live on the street and then we just keep it going. As a government that changes. With me as the governor, we're actually going to have show a little bit of compassion for these people that need the help and we're going to give them the mental help, the drug help and the alcohol help that they need. They will be productive again and we'll be, we'll get them back to the homes that they once had.
Brian Glenn
Okay, Sheriff, what's the best website for people watching us right now that live in the great state of California? They want to get more information about your platform and perhaps how to donate and things like that. What's your best website?
Chad Bianco
Absolutely. Bianco for governor.com and every social media site. Sheriff Chad Bianco. It is a great state and you need to help fix it.
Brian Glenn
Yeah. One of the most beautiful states in the country, without a doubt. I absolutely love it. Sheriff, thank you so much for joining us this morning. I know it's bright. I know it's really early there. So thank you so much.
Chad Bianco
You're welcome. My pleasure.

Brian Glenn
Welcome back to American Sunrise. And joining us now is American Sunrise host David Brody. Good morning. I should say good Monday morning to you, my friend.
David Brody
Good Monday morning.
Brian Glenn
How are you? Right. All right. Well, let's kind of turn our attention real quickly. We'll get into the war. Update on that, but on the Senate, President Trump saying he's not going to sign anything until the Senate passes the SAVE Act. I don't see that happening anytime soon. But I'm a little pessimistic in that regards. What say you?
David Brody
Yeah, I'm pessimistic too. And I'll tell you why. A lot of people train or, you know, put their fire there on John Thune. Don't get me wrong. I mean, he could definitely push this. What he is saying, and I do agree with this, is that he says he doesn't have the votes, that they're not Republicans that will even do the talking. Filibuster. And you know what?
Neil McCabe
He's right.
David Brody
I don't think he's lying. I don't think. I mean, do you think he's lying, Brian? I don't think he's lying.
Brian Glenn
No, you're right.
David Brody
I don't think he has the votes. What is he gonna do? I mean, it's all about consensus in the Senate, sadly, sometimes. But so at this point, everybody, you know, I know Mag is all upset at Thune. And don't get me wrong, I get
Neil McCabe
it, I get it.
David Brody
You know, he could be more forceful on this for sure. But even if he was forceful, you're gonna get Murkowski, you're gonna get Collins, you're gonna get Thom Tillis. I mean, I can go down the line. You got another four or five other people are not gonna do the talking filibuster. So Thune can say, let's do the talking filibuster now, and it wouldn't matter. You think Thom Tillis is going to listen to John Thune? He's lame duck. You're not going to listen. And Collins is in a Senate race for reelections. No, I don't see it.
Brian Glenn
Yeah, I don't see it as well. But it's interesting how the Senate could. Well, they block reducing the amount of aid that we give to refugees. They. They were able to. They couldn't block that. They couldn't even block. After all the waste, fraud, and abuse, they still couldn't block that.
David Brody
Yeah, no, it's true. So I don't know. All I know is that Congress likes to rename post offices, and that's about all they're good for nowadays.
Brian Glenn
I agree on that.
Neil McCabe
Real quickly, about.
Brian Glenn
About a minute left over the weekend. Obviously more targets hit. The war seems to be spreading, and even Norway and Sweden had their embassies targeted. This thing is kind of spreading across the region a little bit more than we want it.
David Brody
Yeah. Listen, I just want to say a quick thing, and this sits obviously a little close to home regarding mtg. Let me just say something. Kudos to MTG for calling out Trump by name. If you've got a problem with this war, say his name. And MTG has been consistent on that. And I give her major props. I mean, I disagree with a lot of what she has to say about this war. We don't see eye to eye, but she at least calls President Trump out. Tucker's not doing that. There are people on the right. They're just like, you know, oh, this is a bad war. Well, you know what, Tucker? Say Trump's name. He won't do it. That's called cowardice. That's what that's called.
Brian Glenn
And when she supports him, she supports him. And when she disagrees, he disagrees. Thank you so much, David. All right, we'll see you back here tomorrow, 7am Goodbye. God bless. We'll see you.
