Ahead on American Sunrise Early Edition. At least one of those Democrats who tried to sow the seeds of mutiny and sedition in our armed forces is now admitting there are no illegal orders coming from President Trump for the troops to disobey. But all of those Democrats now insist they're the real victims of the entire affair. That's called cry bullying, by the way. Optimism is still a lie for the Trump peace plan for Russia and Ukraine, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio saying the peace talks have been the most productive so far and the oil markets.
Aaron Boxer
Agree.
Jake Novak
There'S peace of another kind at hand inside the Republican Party, as Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene says she'll resign from Congress in January rather than take her feud with President Trump into the midterm election year after New York City Mayor elect Zoran Mamdani had a friendly meeting with President Trump on Friday. On Sunday, he goes back on national TV to insist he still believes Trump is a fascist. Imagine if Mamdani ever met a real fascist. He'd probably bow down even more. And a new feature on X, formerly known as Twitter, reveals every user account's country of origin. And it turns out a lot of very influential voices on the platform aren't based in the US or the countries they say they're from. The America's enemies are dominating our political discourse from afar. American Sunrise EARLY Edition begins now.

Down the stories that matter. We will be letting the public know regularly what we have found. American SUNRISE EARLY EDITION with your host, Jake Novak starts now. Morning, everyone. Happy Monday here on AMERICAN Sunrise EARLY edition. I'm Jake Novak. I'm in brown today because I'm already thinking of that Thanksgiving turkey gravy. I'm admitting it. I do dress very much according to what foods I'm craving at the moment. And I actually don't think you could ever get enough turkey. And I'll be happy to share one of my very easy recipes for turkey in a few days. But anyway, we're looking forward to a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, probably the best American holiday, if you ask me. But we've got some things to take care of first. And helping me do that is retired Air Force officer and the host of Veronica Live, Veronica Kemeny. And Veronica, one of the Democrats, really, I would say the ringleader who made that video urging our troops to disobey supposedly illegal orders was forced to admit something yesterday, something very interesting. This is Michigan Center Elise Slotkin getting caught by a rare case of real journalism on ABC yesterday. Check this out.
Aaron Boxer
Let's talk right now. Do you believe President Trump has issued any illegal orders?
Jake Novak
To my knowledge, I am not aware of things that are illegal, but certainly there are some legal gymnastics that are going on with these Caribbean strikes and everything related to Venezuela. Are you kidding me? She said nothing illegal. But. But there's some gymnastics going on. Boy, that was worth making a video that is now putting a major, major focus on these folks. Veronica, if there are no illegal orders, then why make the video?
Veronica Kemeny
I think, Jake, it's a deflection. Here we are again with these six Democrats. They're trying to weaponize our troops. And, you know, troops follow order, especially enlisted troops. So it's been very embarrassing. And why do this? Because we're just coming off 43 days of a shutdown and we've got the Epstein files and they need to deflect. And now you've got our troops that follow orders under the president, commander and chief and secretary of War Hegseth. Everything's going fine. And I saw also Congressman Houlihan also walked it back a little bit, saying that there was no illegal orders. They're just trying to deflect. And I'm very disappointed in Senator Mark Kelly as well. He served in the Navy for 25 years, was an astronaut, and he's been leading this charge. So it's not okay. And our troops need to follow orders. And actually the Department of War has been Great. If there's an issue, our troops have the inspector general to go to, which we've had for years. And Secretary Hegseth Jake has cleaned that up now within seven days. If it's a frivolous something frivolous, they'll dismiss it. If it's substantiated in 30 days, they get it investigated. Our department of War is on fire. And not to mention our recruitment is off the charts. So everybody wants to join. To include myself. I keep joking. I want to go back and join again under the Trump Hegseth administration here. They know what they're doing.
Jake Novak
I'm sure they'd be happy to have you. Listen, I hope you're right. I hope it's just a deflection, because this is eerily similar to what we saw in Israel in the months leading up to the October 7th attacks when seditious groups tried to encourage IDF reservists not to show up for duty. Now, I don't know of anyone who actually listened to them, but this was the culture going into that situation, and it left the country a little bit demoralized right before that attack. And I'm worried that they're trying to copy that playbook. They certainly copied this playbook when they went after Netanyahu for all these bogus trials and stuff just before they did the same to President Trump. Now, Veronica, I always draw on a couple of sources to learn about human nature. Usually it's the Bible, but. But I'm one of the rare people who also references Looney Tunes. And the Looney Tunes cartoons usually have that scenario where someone drops an anvil on another guy's head and then he throws on a pair of glasses and said, you wouldn't hit a guy with glasses, would you? Well, we have a case of that. It's called cry bullying. When a bully does something and then starts crying when they get called on it. We have Democrats who made that seditious video, another Democrat you mentioned, Houlihan, Congresswoman Houlahan. And she's trying to palm herself off as the real victim because. Because President Trump rightfully noted that treasonous acts involving our military are a capital offense. Capital offense, by the way, means you can be executed for it if you're found fully guilty. Here's one of those cry bullies now. Check her out.
Veronica Kemeny
It's mind blowing.
Jake Novak
What's coming from the leadership of both the House and the Senate.
Aaron Boxer
It's.
Jake Novak
And the, the other thing that's damning is the silence of my colleagues in not condemning this violence. People were up in arms, understandably and appropriately, about the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Dr. Jessica Berge
But.
Jake Novak
But it has been crickets here in Congress from my colleagues about this. Have any of those colleagues reached out to you privately to express support?
Not one.
Not one.
Global Gaming League Announcer
Boo hoo.
Jake Novak
Boo hoo. You're asking for a seditious, treasonous uprising.
Veronica Kemeny
This is another Democrat operative. And did we know who any of these people were? The only one I really knew was Senator Mark Kelly. And when I was checking out all their social media, they only have a few thousand people following them calling this the Greta Thornburg five minutes of fame. Plus, Democrats always stick together. So, you know, we've got Mark Kelly leading the way. And then these, these people. We had no idea who you were. And now they're trying to say that, you know, Trump's going after them. No, you stepped in it and you caused this. And our troops have to follow orders. And they don't come from you. They come from President Trump and Secretary of War Hegseth. So it's. I'm embarrassed by the Democrats and all.
Jake Novak
A lot.
Veronica Kemeny
You know, a lot of these people have. They've worn the uniform, but they're doing. They're doing injustice to our troops.
Jake Novak
Yeah. Here's a note. To any journalist who interviews any of these people, you have to ask the following questions. You know, I'm sending you back to high school, high school journalism class. I want to know who wrote the script for that video. Tell me who wrote the script. I want to know who paid for it. If you're not asking those questions to these people who come on your program, then you're not a good journalist. None of them are. All right, let's talk about some good news, because I do find this encouraging. Peace talks in Geneva trying to end that long Russia, Ukraine, war are apparently making progress. Now, don't just take Secretary of State Marco Rubio's word for it. He says there is progress. I've been checking with the folks who have skin in the game, the oil markets. If there is real peace between Russia and Ukraine, the price of oil is going to go down because supply will come back under the market. And the traders in the oil market are basically expecting that. We're down to $57 a barrel this morning. Veronica, this actually could be working. Don't listen to the mainstream media. Look at what the people with skin in the game are saying. We could actually get a deal here. I don't know if anyone's going to be happy about it, but it will lead to more supply and hopefully less Killing. How about that?
Veronica Kemeny
Well, we've been praying for this for almost four years now. And, you know, part of it is some things haven't changed. Russia doesn't want them in NATO. You know, they've asked that the numbers of troops bring down, that Ukraine keeps them at 600,000 and that there's no NATO troops within Ukraine. Some of these things are easy. And of course, we need Europe to have Ukraine's back. But, you know, this is one of the conflicts Sheikh I thought was going to end first. And you know, this is taking way longer than expected. But Trump wants this. Secretary Rubio's in Geneva working super hard and we've got Europe to step up and let's get it done because every, every day people are killed and this conflict has gone on way too long.
Jake Novak
Yeah, listen, I had an insider's view. In the early months of the war, the then the prime Minister of Israel, Naftali Bennett, a very young and inexperienced guy at that moment, did actually put together a peace plan that looked very promising. And then Joe Biden came in and trashed it. So we could have had peace within a couple of months. Just remember that. And Bennett was sworn to secrecy about it while Biden was president. As soon as he lost the election or Kamala Harris lost the election, he talked about it a little bit. So I'll tell you now, this war could have ended a couple of months into the conflict and maybe all we needed was having a president who wanted peace. It's a lot. You're right. I agree with you. Harder than we thought. But, you know, listen, four years can do a lot of damage and it's, it's hard to unravel. Let's finally talk about the economy. You know, one of my jokes on this program is everyone tells the pollsters that the economy is their most important issue, the thing they think about the most. But if you try to talk about it on TV news, everyone runs and hides. I'm not going to do that. I want people to think about it. And I agree with Treasury Secretary Scott Besson and something he said over the weekend, which is that we have some parts of the economy are strong, some parts are weaker, and we're all trying to make it a better and some game. But we had a better, we did have a better than expected jobs report that came out last week, albeit for September, because those numbers were delayed because of the Schumer shutdown. But I don't think anyone, Veronica, is saying the economy is all perfume and roses, but the job situation has not completely collapsed. We have lower gas prices and yes, food prices are still high. And if you want to blame someone, I still blame the Biden administration. But let's, let's maybe stop the blame game for a second and admit that President Trump is actually talking about it just about every day. He's not old George Bush, remember the first George Bush looking at his watch, not wanting to talk about the economy. At least he's focusing on this running well.
Veronica Kemeny
We definitely need to get inflation down. You know, it's up 3%. And this weekend I took one for the team, Jake. I went into tractor supply and target and I have to tell you, the prices were substantially high. And so, you know, we've got to work harder to bring this down because the American worker is working hard. And I don't always think People in D.C. in the Swamp are fighting on our behalf. So let's get it down. And I'm happy that the job market's looking up. This is great because you know, America, we've got to leave leader in the White House and he's trying to get our economy where it needs to be.
Jake Novak
Yeah, let's get the supply chains open as well. I got some stories later this hour about GM building more and investing more in the supply chain right here in the US and that could have saved us a lot of inflation pain during those Covid shutdowns. Veronica. Kemi, thanks so much for joining us. You're the host of Veronica Live and have a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving. I know you're going to have a great one.
Veronica Kemeny
Veronica, Happy Thanksgiving.
Jake Novak

That's a beautiful sunrise there in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Some parts of this country, Thanksgiving looks a little bit different than others, let's just put it that way. And that looks beautiful. Hi, I'm Jake Novak. Welcome back to American Sunrise Early Edition, a Thanksgiving week Monday. I'm wearing brown in honor of the gravy for my turkey. You know, listen, I think about food when I get dressed. Why not? By the way, if you wear clothes that match the color of the food you're serving and then you don't have to worry about stains on your clothes embarrassing you, this is an extra tip. This is the kind of valuable tips that you get on on. These are the kinds of valuable tips you get on this program. Anyway, a new feature on Elon Musk's Ask, used to be known as Twitter, reveals where each user's account originates. Some of the big influencers on both sides of the aisle, including some supposed patriots, some supposed anti trump Americans. They're all foreigners, by the way, a lot of the reporters for Middle east crises in countries like the Philippines or something like that, Emily Finn joins us right now. Emily, now this feels a lot like catfishing, which by the way, I think is an overrated Crime. It's one thing to be sort of let down by someone you never met in person. It's another to have someone that you were dating in real life go back to their old high school boyfriend from Bayonne. But I'm just kidding. But I mean, this is kind of revealing. I think everyone should use this feature.
Emily Finn
Well, okay, I am chronically on X, Jake, so I don't know if this is going to land with all of our viewers. I don't know if this is going to land with you, but I am blaming the user who calls himself Ian Miles Chong. I don't know if you've been hearing about this guy, but I don't even know where he's from. But he's a foreigner as well, and things have been coming out about him over years and years saying, why are you talking about American politics? He's actually pro Trump and pro Maga, but why are you talking about American politics? You're not even from here. And I think that he was the one that sparked all of this on X and the things that have been coming out. It has been transparent, to say the least, to understand where some of these accounts actually originated from. And a lot of questions are being raised at this point. But I think that this is something that's going to happen with the rise of social media. You know, before people would go to networks, they would go to Real America's Voice and know that, okay, I trust Emily and Jake because I trust Real America's voice. But if you're just out there in the. In the Twitter sphere, out there on X, people don't really know who you are, and it's easy to get duped. So I think this is something that's going to actually be trending on social media and transparency is going to rule the day.
Jake Novak
Yeah, I like transparency. Two things that have really changed in America. Our foreign enemies have figured out how to get around our campaign finance laws, which were never that hard to get around in the first place, but they figured that out and they figured out how to use social media to insert themselves into our debates. Maybe real Americans aren't that divided at the end of the day. Maybe it is a foreign nefarious influence. Emily Finn, thank you so much for joining us. We'll see you in the 8 to 10am hours and we'll talk more about Thanksgiving clothing and avoiding stains on your clothes.
Emily Finn
If you match the clothes, it makes for a great picture on Thanksgiving Day, too. The clothes to the food.
Jake Novak
We'll figure that out.
Emily Finn
Thank you.
Jake Novak
All right. Hey, look, folks, if you're struggling with thinning hair, tell me about it. And you want to pay close attention to this because I think you'll find this next segment very helpful. We have a special guest joining us. Her name is Dr. Jessica Berge. Dr. Berge is a board certified dermatologist, by the way. Not easy to be one. And she's going to share a simple natural ritual women can use to promote thicker and fuller hair appearance. Dr. Berge, thank you so much for joining us. So I understand you have partnered with a company called Puriance, which specializes in natural hair care. It may be too late for me, Dr. Berge, but what can you tell us about this company?
Dr. Jessica Berge
Well, thank you so much for having me. I love purines because they have just natural and organic ingredients. These are ingredients that are backed by real science and proven to work. There's no harsh chemicals, no parabens, silicones or sodium lauryl sulfate. So it's a really great option for mature skin or even sensitive skin.
Jake Novak
So listen, I have two daughters, so this isn't just a waste of time having me talk to you about this. I have two daughters and their hair is great. But listen, I'm sure they want to keep it great. So I understand you have a pretty groundbreaking solution for thinning hair. Can you tell us a little bit more about that?
Dr. Jessica Berge
Yes. So the Hydrolish shampoo is really different because of its three phase growth support system. So the first phase is the root revival system. So you have ingredients like cocoa glycoside which helps dissolve that waxy buildup and that suffocates your hair follicles and stunts growth. So this really allows follicles to breathe. The second part is the hair thickening matrix, which is hydrolyzed wheat protein. It attaches to the weak spots in the hair. So it really creates the strafe scaffold and strengthens the hair within. It makes it look thicker and fuller over time. And then the third part is the protective essence shield which protects your hair from environmental stress and just other types of damage. And so the hydrolift uses natural ingredients that are great for creating this invisible shield around your hair follicles, which this lets crucial nourishing ingredients in while keeping those harsh chemicals out.
Jake Novak
All right, now that sounds amazing, but you know, I'm all about giving easy instructions to people. How easy is is it to use Hydrolift shampoo? Is it something you have to use every day? Are there special ways to use it? What can you tell us about that?
Dr. Jessica Berge
It's super easy because it's going to replace your regular shampoo in the shower. So when you get in the shower it lathers up really quickly. You lather it up. You want to leave it on for about one to two minutes and let it set and then rinse it out. And you only have to do this about two to three times a week. So you don't even have to do it every day for best results.
Jake Novak
Believe it or not, I actually shampoo every day myself. So that wouldn't be too hard for someone who really has hair. So for anyone who's watching and interesting and try and interested in trying to use Hydrolift, how can they do that? How can they get this product and what should they do?
Dr. Jessica Berge
You just go over to purance.com to shop and your viewers today can actually use discount code early and get 35% off their order. What's great about Karin's is that they have a 365 day money back guarantee. So up to a full year if you are not happy for any reason, you can get your money back. And they have great skincare products as well. So if you're looking to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles or boost skin hydration, check those out too.
Jake Novak
Okay, now you're speaking my language because I do have a lot of skin. So thank you so much for that. Dr. Bergen, thank you so much for joining us today. Once again I'm going to repeat what you just said. We really appreciate it. Again, just like Dr. Berge just said, if you're interested in trying Hydrolift shampoo risk free for a full year, simply head over to Puriance.com to place your order. And don't forget to use the coupon code early E A R L y to save 35% of your order. That's Purience.com, discount code early to get 35% off your hydrolift shampoo today. And I'm going to give you an early Happy Thanksgiving. Thank you so much.
Dr. Jessica Berge

It's a live shot from Naples, Florida, this morning. As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly. Who can remember the name of the program that that came from? I have turkey on my mind this morning.
Aaron Boxer
Morning.
Jake Novak
But that's a beautiful shot of Naples, Florida, getting it off my mind for just a second. Let's take a look at where the markets are going to open this morning on AMERICAN Sunrise EARLY edition. And it's mostly a flat open for the Dow, but the NASDAQ is gaining. We had a big rally at the end of the week on Friday coming back from what was overall kind of a down week. And you can see crude oil there at the $57 a barrel level. And that's because of these Russian, Ukraine peace talks. They're encouraged by it doesn't mean it's going to happen, but they feel like it's going in the right direction. Now let's look at bitcoin, which of course is a big story right now, continuing to be under even the $90,000 levels at 85,9. Down again this morning off more than $40,000 from its all time high just a couple of months ago. So bitcoin still struggling to make that comeback, but it's on sale if you want to look at it that way. Okay, ladies and gentlemen, start your engines. This is Moving America. You know, you've been hearing a lot lately about US Auto companies like gm, even some foreign auto companies talking about how they're going to ramp up domestic production. Well when they do that, it doesn't mean that they're just going to invest in the assembly plants, the plants where they actually put the cars together. There's of course a large supply chain going on here, folks, and GM is explaining that in one way and putting a lot of money into it. They're gonna put $250 million additionally into their Parma Metal center in Ohio. Parma is a town on the west side of Cleveland. A lot of folks in Cleveland who say they live in the Cleveland area live in Parma, an interesting place. If you remember the Drew Carey show, he sang a song called Moon Over Parma tonight. So this is a big, big shot in the arm for one of America's industrial cities. By the way, this Parma metal plant, this is where they make sheet metal to support multibillion dollar products that they make in some of their final assembly plants like I was telling you about in Michigan, in Kansas and in Tennessee. You got to help the supply chain here. Again, remember, we're trying to fight inflation. It's not just about tariffs and extra costs there or the fact that China shut down, things like that. It's all the other delivery costs that come into play. Now a lot of these American companies thought they were gonna make a huge, huge profit by going to these lower cost factories overseas. But you know, they aren't factoring in things like, well, oh, I don't know, the bribery that they have to engage in with some of these foreign companies. But believe me, it happens. The problems that happen with shipping, sometimes if there's a war or there's a breakdown and on and on down the line. I think the Trump administration, when they slapped the tariffs on, wanted to let everyone know it's not just about the tariffs. You could actually might end up ahead of the game if you increase your local production. Not just at the assembly plant where you make the Fords and the GMs, but in the supply plants, the folks that makes the aluminum, the folks that make the sheet metal, that's where you also have to invest. And GM is doing that. Let's see if they start a trend. Now, of course, Thanksgiving, I'm talking about it, it's on my mind. It's right around the corner. I know a lot of you watching are going to be hitting the roads. And the reason why I know that is because AAA has been crunching the numbers. A record 81.8 million people are expected to drive at least 50 miles or more away from home for Thanksgiving. That is up by quite a bit, by 1.6 million. So well over 2% increase from last year. Remember, Thanksgiving is actually the busiest travel holiday in the United States, more than Christmas. And here's the other caveat. We have gasoline prices down in most places well under $3 a gallon. Unless you live in some crazy place like California, stuff like that. And gasoline prices should continue to go down. With oil going down the last few days, you might actually want to wait to fill up. You might want to wait until Wednesday to fill up, folks, if you are going away because I think your gas prices are going to go down in the next couple of days. So there you have it. You have lower gasoline prices and you have a situation where more people want to go and travel and see their friends and maybe they don't want to stand in an airport line and they'd rather drive a couple hundred miles. So that's the situation on the roads. Plan accordingly. Use your waze, use your other GPS and maybe leave really early in the morning or something like that. I hate being stuck in traffic. I'm sure you all do as well. Now, you probably think you hate the dmv. I have something to say to you and I'm sorry to have to tell you this. You probably don't hate your local DMV enough. Here's why. It turns out the DMVs can legally sell your driver data to insurers, to brokers and marketers. And states profit from millions for selling your information. That, by the way, there's something that I learned a long time ago. When it comes to things like this, if you're not paying for the product, you are the product. Now you do pay for DMV services, but maybe you feel like, well, it's the, it's the standing online that's the real price I have to pay. Not so much the fees. That's not so bad. Although some states do charge you crazy prices for license renewals and registrations. But on top of all that, you're also giving them your information. You have no opt out rights when it comes to the dmv. Privacy protections don't really exist. They're weak. And don't forget there's a lot of breaches and security hacks and things like that on that information. I will say this one thing in defense of the dmv, only one. It turns out that sometimes criminals can be caught easier this way. Private investigators who are on the up and up and even some police departments can get this information from the dmv. That's helpful, but otherwise I don't know about you. I don't love the fact that the DMV is making money selling my information. It's bad enough that Facebook and all those other platforms did it for years. But again, if you're not paying for the product, then you are the product. And at the dmv, you and I are the product. All right. Coming up, the mainstream media is out with tons of headlines the last few days about how foreign enrollment is way down at America's colleges and universities because mean ol President Trump is deporting illegal aliens. Here's one. It's not true. And later, what should we all make of Zoran Mamdani's tightrope act during this last weekend? First, he meets with President Trump on Friday and then he goes on TV on Sunday to say, oh, yeah, President Trump is still an evil fascist. Boy, it's a good thing Zoran Mandani isn't in charge of defending us against evil fascist who are real, because it would probably bow down even lower. David brody, I'll talk about that in a few minutes. AMERICAN Sunrise EARLY edition. We'll be right back. It's Monday, November 24th. Here are this morning's top stories. At least one of the Democrats who tried to sow the seeds of mutiny and sedition in our armed forces is now admitting there are no illegal orders coming from President Trump for the troops to disobey. But all of those Democrats now insist they're the real victims of the entire affair. That's called cry bullying, by the way, and I'm calling them on it. Optimism is still alive for the Trump peace plan for Russia and Ukraine, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio saying the peace talks have been the most productive so far. The oil traders agree and they have money to lose if they're wrong. There is a peace of another kind at hand inside the Republican Party. Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene says she'll resign from Congress in January rather than take her feud with President Trump into the midterm election year. And after New York City Mayor elect Zoran Mamdani had a friendly meeting with with President Trump on Friday. On Sunday, he goes back on national TV to insist he still believes Trump is an evil fascist. Imagine if Mamdani ever met a real fascist. Well, he probably grew up with a few. He probably bowed down even more. American Sunrise EARLY EDITION continues. Now, Can you imagine if Zoran Momdani was in charge of protecting New York City from an actual real fascist? I mean, I think he would probably join them. This is not exactly a tough guy by any level, just a strange State of affairs. I'll talk about that with David Brody in a few minutes. But first, you know, if you thought you were gonna. If you thought I was just gonna do a few education segments last week and forget about it, you're wrong. The indoctrination, the failures going on in our education system are just too important for me to ignore. And so that's why I'm bringing in Aaron Boxer. He is the CEO of Diversified Education Services. And Aaron, I want to start first with. I did. I did the search on all the search engines about a foreign enrollment in the colleges, and it was headline after headline after headline saying foreign student enrollment has plummeted. It's gone through the basement, it's all over. And then suddenly I noticed Fortune magazine did a headline that showed that actually did real research and said it's only down 1%. What gives here, Aaron?
Aaron Boxer
It's good to be here, Jake. Foreign students make up only about 6% of enrollment overall, but they do carry a massive share of the financial load because so many pay full freight. Colleges love that. And that's also a problem because colleges built a business, business model on the money that they don't control. And they priced out American families. They've grown this bloated DEI bureaucracy, spending millions on political activism, and then they rely on wealthy foreign students to keep the lights on. And at the same time, you've got Gen Z unemployment that shot up around 10 or 11%. That's like great Recession numbers. And our own young adults can't get entry level drops right now. And this is what happens when you rely on students who don't call the US Home to stabilize your books.
Jake Novak
Yeah, listen, your statistic is correct. It's only 6% of enrollment right now. And that's, you know, where it's been. But at the elite universities, it's way, way higher. Look, when I was at Columbia University as a student in the late 80s, early 90s, I let. I'll admit it, I majored in schmoozing. I knew everybody. Okay. On campus, I can count on one hand the number of foreign nationals that I knew who were my fellow students. There were plenty of them in the grad schools, but again, still a small percentage. But in the undergraduate community, none. Now it's like 30, 40% of enrollment. For the reason that you just described, you were a lot more diplomatic. They're getting money from these people. They don't get financial aid for the most part. These foreign students, they pay full price. And they are not only just being admitted for that Passively. The admissions officers and the development officers of these universities, Aaron, actively go to these countries. They go to China, they go to Europe and start trying to drum up business from the higher paying students. This is about a money grab. And I mean this is what's really going on, isn't it?
Aaron Boxer
That's exactly what it is. And it always comes down to the money. And I don't see this as a long term existential crisis. If they wind up fixing the problem, we need a market correction. And colleges, as you pointed out, they've gotten addicted to to full pay foreign students and they ignore their actual mission for years. And parents around the world are seeing the same campus chaos we've been seeing with encampments, anti Semitic protests, faculty or foreign faculty that loses control and they're thinking why would I send my child into that? And again, meanwhile, we need to take care of what's going on with Gen Z. Their unemployment is rising. You think universities would see that as a wake up call to focus on job readiness and practical curriculum. Instead the reaction is we need more foreign students to pay for this. No, we need accountability. They need accountability. The top schools, by the way, they will be fine. Like the Columbia's and the Stanfords and the Harvards, the bloated ones that rely on unlimited for enrollment to keep the funding in their politics and their bureaucracy. Those are the ones that should be panicking.
Jake Novak
Yeah. By the way, the one foreign student I knew as an undergrad, his name was Vittorio, he was from Italy and he wrote his senior thesis about the ontology of pornography. He was a legend. Anyway, let's get to those foreign influencers again because you just sort of alluded to it. We just found out that CARE C A I R which is aligned with the Muslim Brotherhood, aligned with Hamas. And that's just not me saying. It's not just me saying that. That is a court of law in Florida that established that we're learning now that they've been cutting $1,000 checks. What a surprise to some of the worst student rioters and agitators in the anti Semitic, anti Israel protests on campus. And there's more where that came from. This is what we're, you know, listen, that's the whole thing. We talk about these people who are coming from foreign countries and they get depicted as like, oh, they're refugees. Like that Mahmoud Khalil, he's not a refugee. He comes from a very wealthy family. And where do you think the money comes from? I promise you it's not coming from selling widgets or baklava. This is our terrorist funded folks. And they're being funded even more now. That's what we want on our campuses. We're importing these haters, these terrorists.
Aaron Boxer
Right? Foreign dollars of any kind can shape research agendas, visiting scholar programs, Middle east study departments and engineering labs, you name it. The American public deserves to know who's paying for that. So I just want to make sure that there's some transparency here, that accountability matters. A lot of people don't know about this foreign money. They just assume they're sending their child to, whether it's an elite institution or just a so. So one. But they don't realize that foreign dollars should not get special treatment on a US Campus. Our students, our American students need to be prioritized. No foreign donor should shake safety or policy or academic decision making. This is about American students. People get this about our future and people get emotional about specific countries, as I do. The principle needs to be neutral. If you take foreign money, you need to disclose it. We need to track it and make sure it's not compromising academic integrity, because I fear that it already has.
Jake Novak
You know, there's an argument to be made about cultural exchange. You know, maybe we can show some of the best of America to some of these foreign students. And maybe some of our American students will learn the best from the foreign students. Here's another revelation that I'm sure you're aware of that I want our viewers to know about as well. A lot of these foreign students don't participate in campus life. They live off campus. You know, for example, if you have some people who went to Harvard or Penn or Columbia, you can't afford to live off campus in some expensive apartment in Boston, New York or Philadelphia. So there was a great campus feeling. Everyone had to live on campus. And there was that feeling. But if you have these children of Chinese billionaires or foreign terrorist money billionaires or whatever they are, they're not even living on campus. They're certainly not going to the football games or the basketball games or going to the homecoming dance. This is not happening. Again. I would agree with the idea of this in principle if there was real cultural exchange going on, but that's not what's happening. They're not even really living in the dorms after they do that first semester required living in the dorm kind of thing. And it's really a problem. They are killing the campus community atmosphere as well.
Aaron Boxer
Right. And we need stricter screening. Stricter screening. It's. It's the right move. It's not anti student, it's, it's basic national security. We've had real issues with fraud and people tied to hostile foreign governments that are entering. These are very sensitive programs. Trump has brought back common sense guardrails, the kind every serious country uses. If you're a legitimate student you'll get through the process. We're just, we need to filter out the people who should not have been in the pipeline to begin with. And the tie in is that while universities cry that tougher visa rules might hurt them again, we have a double digit unemployment factor with Gen Z. So who exactly are these institutions fighting for? Because it does not look like American kids. They're having trouble getting a full hold in the job market. So we need like high, high walls, wide gate and then you screen hard, welcome the best and then you protect these opportunities along the way for young Americans.
Jake Novak
Yeah, listen, a full disclosure, I'll take a foreign student any day if they're 6, 7, tight end with side with, with soft hands. But all kidding aside, this is just not part of what the American culture is about. I want to have foreign exchange, I want to have ideas exchanged but this is not what's happening. This is not the scenario on our campuses. But Aaron, listen, maybe we're barking up the wrong tree here because you know, maybe college isn't the whole the point in the first place. We're seeing finally some new thinking going on at least with the Gen zers survey after survey showing more of the and more of them are interested in a blue collar career. I know that I'm not the only one in America who's been calling on more blue collar training schools in this country. The unions are a big reason why we can't have them because they would rather not have new members. They just want more Viagra and retirement benefits for their older members. But can we get more plumbers? Can we get more construction people so that we don't have to import for another kind of foreigner, illegal aliens to do that kind of work for us.
Aaron Boxer
That's exactly right. We need more of these programs and that starts earlier. We have to go into our high school system and talk about school choice when all the kids that are in our system right now, we are trying to send them to college. Not all of them are college ready or want to be students. And there is a need for construction workers and we need people to help build the infrastructure if we're going to bring manufacturing back. Who's going to build the homes? Right. So we need the buildings for the people to be in. So I know that some of these institutions are talking about it, but we need to take a step back and look at are we preparing these students to be blue collar workers or are we sending them into a white collar market? Because the white collar market is not looking great right now.
Jake Novak
Yeah, listen, and again, the unions, they were supposed to have apprenticeship programs. They were supposed to do all this and help us do it. They're only interested in their older members. Ask anyone who's tried to get work at a UAW shop. It's one of the reasons why these Southern Auto Motive Company factories have not voted in favor of the UAW for the most part. Aaron Boxer, thank you so much for joining us for keeping an eye on this education situation in this country. And again, we're not being isolationist. I'm happy to have foreign students come to this country, but not just that we can take their money and not if they're not going to participate in campus life and actually be part of a cultural exchange. Anyway, have a happy Thanksgiving. Saying that early because again, I'm thinking about turkey all day. Thank you, Aaron.
Aaron Boxer
Thanks, Jake. Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
Jake Novak
All right. Coming up, could Zo Ron Momdani finally be the huckleberry who breaks folks out of their Trump derangement syndrome? Maybe people will look at him and realize that this is all an act. Well, he might actually be able to do it. David Brody and I will talk about that in American Sunrise EARLY EDITION on this Thanksgiving WEEK continues. That's a live shot of Stowe, Vermont. You know, the ski resorts in Vermont have been struggling. There's been less snow the last few years. It looks like they've got snow on the the ground now. And I don't know if that is a snow maker, if they actually had some snow. But good luck to all of you who like to ski in Vermont. As we established on this program a few months ago when I showed a video of me trying to get on a bunny hill, I am not a good skier. I wish I were. I think I waited too long to get into skiing. Welcome back to AMERICAN SUNRISE EARLY edition. I'm Jake Novak. It is Thanksgiving week Monday, and I'm very excited about it and I know that David Brody as well. But today's episode of instant hyperbole uttered by people who don't know what they're talking about focuses on Zoran Mamdani. Now again, he did a little bit of a two step on Friday. He showed up to the White House. He seemed to have a friendly meeting With President Trump. I loved the visual of President Trump sitting at the Resolute desk while Mamdani was standing over him like he was his waiter attending to them. I mean, forget about. You don't even need to turn the audio on. That video was worth millions of dollars in just good PR for the Trump administration. But then, Mom, Donnie went on Meet the Press, and here's what he had to say. Check this out.
In that press conference with President Trump, a reporter asked you whether you believe that President Trump is, in fact, a fascist, a word that you've used in the past. You were about to answer, then President Trump sort of jumped in and he said, quote, that's okay.
Veronica Kemeny
You can just say yes.
Jake Novak
It's easier than explaining it. So, Mr. Mayor elect, just to be very clear, do you think that President Trump is a fascist?
And after President Trump said that, I said, yes.
Grainger Commercial Voice
So you do.
Jake Novak
And that's something that I've said in the past. I say it today. And I think what I appreciated about the conversation that I had with the President was that we were not shy about the places of disagreement, about the politics that has brought us to this moment. And we also wanted to focus on.
Bartesian Commercial Voice
What it could look like to deliver.
Jake Novak
On a shared analysis of an affordability crisis for New Yorkers. Word salad. Yummy, yummy. That was a word salad answer. But, you know, this is the kind of guy who's, you know, you know, when you think about New Yorkers, love us or hate us, we kind of are good at straight talk. I don't know where this guy comes from, but he ain't a New Yorker. David Brody. And I don't think he's pulling it off. Do you think?
David Brody
No, no, of course not. By the way, I'm trying to think where that. Yummy, yummy. That's that Australian kids group. What's the name of those people? Oh, my goodness. I can't think. The Wiggles. I just got it.
Jake Novak
The Wiggles.
David Brody
The Wiggles.
Jake Novak
Sorry.
David Brody
You know, once again, I get very distracted. Yeah, I get very distracted on this show, quite frankly. Any show I'm on. Sure, of course. Though I will say, and I don't wanna kind of turn it here, but why not? Clearly, so much for the GOP messaging that Mamdani is the worst person in the world. That just seemed to be thrown out the window. But, you know, we'll see. I will say this. You know, Trump just does this type of showmanship, if you will, very, very well. But you know what? Give it a week and a half. Give it a month and let' see what happens on Truth Social, right? Then all of a sudden there'll be a different situation. I thought what was interesting about Mamdani's comments about shared analysis, that's what he said on Meet the Press is shared analysis. That's really good. I mean, that's smooth, right? I mean, he's really good with the words. I mean, I agree with him on 0.000% of what he has to say, but the way he positions things, because you can make the argument that there is a shared analysis. What is the shared analysis? That housing prices are out of control in New York and Trump's a New Yorker and wants to see things done. Now. The devil's in the details. Specifically the devil is in the communist details. So there's that. But we should all take a step back for a second and repeat what we have said on this show and many other shows since, which is Trump is not a Republican, okay? The Republican Party's just a vessel for what he's trying to do. He's a Trump publican. He doesn't espouse conservative values across the board. He's not going to be the CEO of the think tank, the Heritage foundation, though maybe I should hashtag too soon on Heritage Foundation. But the point is, is that I don't think that, you know, if we're looking for a guy that's going to, you know, champion conservative free market capitalist values 100% across the board, like a GOP orthodoxy thing, that's not gonna be Trump. It just isn't. Look at tariffs. I mean, that's a great example.
Jake Novak
Yeah. Well, I tell you, I mean, you're right about the smoothness Mamdani for Meet the Press and for that audience. But for New Yorkers, we wanna hear that things are gonna be better. And he's just, he doesn't have that. He just doesn't have it. Neither did de Blasio, although a little bit better. And certainly not Eric Adams, who said one thing and then did others. Anyway, we're coming up with American Sunrise, the big show coming up. We'll see you on Early Edition tomorrow.
