Ahead of American Sunrise EARLY Edition Election Day is here with crucial races for governor in New Jersey and Virginia, a mayor's race in New York City, judges races in Pennsylvania, and ballot initiatives in California. Will the voters show up for these kinds of off year contests? That's the question. But the mainstream media is already spinning these elections as some kind of new blue wave against President Trump, when in fact each contest is simply just a hold serve situation at best for the Democrats in one blue state and one blue city after another. Speaking of turning out, Barack Obama offers his advice to communist Islamist Zora Mandani in New York City, but he stops short of endorsing him. Why? Meanwhile, the government is still shut down, but the Trump administration is freeing up some funds for the SNAP food stamp program. The Democrats still refuse to reopen the government. They want to starve America better than Ozempic. And former vice president, former Secretary of defense and former Congressman Dick Cheney has died at age 84. Cheney went from a hero to many Republicans and all Americans for his handling of the first Gulf War to a demonized punching bag for America's left during the second war. And then he publicly and angrily broke with the Republican Party as well because of his personal hatred for President Trump. American Sunrise EARLY EDITION begins now. Welcome to American Sunrise EARLY Edition, the show where faith, freedom and the values.

Breaking news from real America's Voice.
Jake Novak
Welcome to American Sunrise EARLY Edition. On this Tuesday, we have some breaking news. Former Vice president, former Secretary of Defense, former Congressman Dick Cheney has died at the age of 84. He lived a very, very eventful life, very much always on the extremes as far as his perception to the American public. Those of you who have long memories will know that he was a hero to most of this country during and immediately after the first Gulf War in the first Bush administration. He then became a little bit demonized at first by the left during his vice presidency under the second Bush administration to very demonized by the left. He became the main punching bag for the second Gulf War. And then after initially endorsing President Trump in his 2016 election, he turned on President Trump for what seemed like very personal reasons connected to his daughter, Congresswoman Liz Cheney. And he became demonized by the right, especially MAGA country, and lauded by the same people who called him Satan himself just a few years earlier. By turning on President Trump, the left decided that they liked him. Again, talk about a mercurial, up and down amazing career in many, many ways. He was from the state of Wyoming, but he was also educated at Yale. He wasn't exactly a cowboy. A lot to talk about here. We'll be talking about it throughout the morning. But first, joining us now is Tablet magazine editor senior editor Lael Leibovitz, because we got to talk, lael, about all of these elections in the United States this morning. But the one that's getting the most attention and the reason why it's getting the most attention is because this is the one that even though there's been some tightening in the polls lately, this is the one the Democrats are most likely to win. That's New York City, the mayor's race, Zoram Mamdani. I'm still expecting him to win, although I'm encouraged by some of the late news about some of the polls tightening. But this is an interesting development, Lael Barack Obama stopping short of endorsing Zoran Mamdani. And I've got to say, Lael, this has got to be a very bad sign about something we may not have heard yet about this guy. If Barack Obama isn't endorsing him when it looks like he's going to win, I mean, it doesn't really have much to really lose necessarily. As far as we know, Zoran Mamdani has a lot more skeletons in his closet, doesn't he, Leo?
Lael Leibovitz
Well, first of all, Jake, as we will soon be required to say in New York City, good morning to you, comrade. Always very good to be on the show. Yes, we are indeed. And perhaps last day of freedom for a very long time here, here in the Big Apple. I read the Obama refusal to Endorse differently. Look, I think there could be no doubt that Barack Obama has been, for the last, you know, decade or so, the de facto head of the Democrat Party. He has been in office for three terms, two of his own, one of Joe Biden. He was expecting a Kamala Harris term as well. And whoever the next Democrat will be in office, he will be another iteration of the Obama party too. I think the Zorn Mamdani aoc, kind of Democratic Socialist of America strand sort of scares these guys because they're the sort of the Frankenstein's creature run amok. You know, they've played with Third Worldism, they've played with anti Americanism, they played with anti Semitism, and now these creatures, creatures, literally creatures, are sort of running in the street independently and threatening to sort of upset the whole thing because suddenly people will see the dark side of what was always supposed to be just a talking point. So if I was Barack Obama, I would be unhappy too, that my monster is running amok in the street.
Jake Novak
Yeah, let's stick with the New York mayors race because as I say, this is the one that the news media is focusing on the most. They want to turn this into some kind of huge blue wave, because in New York City, as if we're supposed to believe New York City was a Trump country before today. But anyway, there's a lot of buzz coming out now. Maybe, maybe, maybe there is a chance to defeat him again. I agree with you. I think this is a lost cause. Although I want everyone to go out and vote. Actually, I wouldn't say it's a lost cause, but I think people voting, even if he does win, will probably get more involved and hopefully push him out within a few years. But the point is, there's also a lot of buzz coming about the Jewish vote coming out in large numbers for Andrew Cuomo. This is video of Midwood, Brooklyn, right around where I went to high school, by the way, people lining up around the corner to vote for him. I guess this was on Sunday. It must have been on Sunday. You know, the thing about this is that this is not only is this a group that doesn't always vote in the city elections, but it's also a group that I don't believe is polled very accurately or adequately. I don't think they answer the phones necessarily from the pollsters. So am I crazy to have some Hope, maybe a 10% chance that Mamdani can lose?
Lael Leibovitz
I don't think you're crazy at all, Jake. First of all, to the rest of our viewers, who've made good life choices and therefore do not live in this, you know, hellscape of a city. The number of or the percentage of Americans or New Yorkers who showed up for the last mayoral election, that was 23%. Jake. Only 23% of New Yorkers elected Eric Adams as mayor. Right now I think we're already looking at something like 50%. We're talking like presidential election level turnout. That could only mean, you know, some kind of boost for Andrew Cuomo. But I think there's kind of like a different story here, which is interesting to note. You've noticed Jews coming out in large numbers for Cuomo. I think that's entirely correct. But every single mainstream media report that you will read, including the New York Times and elsewhere, will tell you something like, oh, a majority of Jews vote for Mamdani, at least 40%. Well, you know, I know that blaming the Jews for everything is very trendy right now, but the actual great last numbers that we have seen, latest polling that we have seen puts the number of Jewish supporters for Mamdani at somewhere under 16%. So this is one thing you cannot blame the Jews for. Very clearly as we're seeing the candidate of one group and one group only. He's only the candidate of affluent Molly, coddled, spoiled, insane, over educated, white, guilt ridden liberal elites who want to feel good about electing this, this Muslim commie to be their next mayor.
Jake Novak
Now they. Yeah, and they actually hate the people that they are. The other groups as well. Hate is the biggest motivator even for that group as well. Leo. It's not just us. For those of you thinking it's just the two of us focusing on the Orthodox Jewish vote. President Trump noted it heavily in this true social post going down across the river to New Jersey, talking about how there's a big turnout for him there. Now, men not want to blame the Jews in New York for whatever happens there. But if Cittarelli wins in New Jersey, and we had Mike Crispy on here yesterday on this program, the host of Last Call, he already says that if Cittarelli wins, the Orthodox Jewish vote's probably going to be the reason why. Do you agree with that?
Lael Leibovitz
I totally agree with that. And look, from what I'm seeing from my Orthodox Jewish friends in New Jersey, there is real enthusiasm for Cheetah Ali. I think Cheetare Ali has made his case beautifully. He has spoken repeatedly and candidly to Jewish Orthodox media and Jewish Orthodox organizations. He has made the case very well. And again, focusing not just in kind of like sort of like theoretical concepts like, oh, anti Semitism, but actually showing how things including housing reform, to make housing more affordable, tax reform to make tax more affordable, education reform, you know, the huge, huge, huge sort of like school choice component of the big beautiful bill that has to be endorsed by local governors. He said he would do that. He would endorse that as soon as it is possible. Those are the issues, education, housing, taxation that, that Orthodox Jews care about most. And I think he made the case beautifully and, you know, made help him win.
Jake Novak
Yeah, you know, I'm here on Long island in Nassau county, people in New Jersey. If Mamdani wins in New York City, there's. There. I'm expecting my property values to go up. I think people are going to really try to have an exodus to both Jersey and Long island and probably also to Westchester as well.
Lael Leibovitz
So I think that the, the biggest winner tonight honestly is going to be, you know, are going to be governor Ron DeSantis and his crew because I think a lot of people are going on Zillow tonight and looking at real estate in Florida, Austin, Texas and elsewhere.
Jake Novak
Yeah. Just so you know that people in New York are good at running. We know how to run. Some of us have been doing that for a long time. Lael, I want to talk about anti Semitism just for a second. I'm a lifelong student of it. I've been gobsmacked by how many people, even people who have been victimized by it don't seem to understand it. And that includes the Anti Defamation League. You know, there's a lot of people who criticize the ADL unfairly, but honestly, it deserves almost all the criticism it gets. There's a new piece in your own magazine, Tablet, about how the ADL has made it worse. And this is something that I've said on this program many times. The three word solution, not only for anti Semitism, but bigotry of any kind, is law and order. You can feel in your heart what you're going to feel. I don't know how to change that. So the people who want hate crime laws and, and special curricula in schools teach regular history. Forget about the hate crime laws. All you need to do is teach the public that no matter who the perpetrator is or the victim is, no matter what their religion is, a crime is a crime. And there will be vicious punishment, strict punishment for the people who commit it, no matter who the victim is or the perpetrator is. And then that'll stop all your problems. Anti Semitism Bigotry. If you know you can't burn down a church just because it's a black church or a white church. And if you know you can't beat up Jews on the street and you, because you're going to go to jail for a long time and you'll have no excuse and a French judge won't say, well, you're upset about Israel so it's okay for you to kill a 70 year old woman, then suddenly all this stuff stops. I think the ADL has made things worse by asking for special treatment. And I could have, and I've been saying this for 40 years, I think.
Lael Leibovitz
It is 100% correct. The very notion that you could go ahead and fix the world's most ancient hatred that has been there literally since, since, you know, since the days of Jesus Christ is ridiculous. But what the report that we ran in tablet by the Network Research Contagion Institute shows is that people who underwent the sort of anti, anti Semitism education module by the ADL emerged something like 15 times more inclined to be anti Semitic than they were before they started. And that's actually not too hard to understand because what that framework does is precisely the opposite of what you just suggested. Rather than say, hey man, feeling your heart, whatever you want, this is America. We're not going to change human beings. But here are codes of behavior. It dives into the sort of like DEI esque system of, of, of sort of like scale of victim and resentment and sort of like, you know, tribalism, therefore basically pushing you to think more strongly in these terms. And obviously the only impact that's going to have is to make you more, not less bigoted. Let's get rid of all these quote unquote educational programs and exactly as you said, let's focus on a very, very focus, a very, very basic notion. You can't go out there and do anything violent or bigoted against any other group of people because this is America and we don't put up with this stuff.
Jake Novak
Yeah, just, just don't beat up somebody in the street, vandalize their house. Yeah, just, it's really, it's very simple. And if you get caught doing it, you're going to go to jail for a very long time. No excuses. That's how you do it. And save everyone else some time and a lot of donations for things that really we don't need. Leo Lubovitz, thank you so much for joining us. I know you'll be up late watching election day results. Good luck there. In New York City I offer you refugee in Nassau County.
Lael Leibovitz
Thank you.
Jake Novak
Yeah. All right, coming up. Hey, why is Chipotle having a tough times these days? Don't blame me.
Cory DeAngelis
I'm old.
Jake Novak
It's the Gen Z conundrum for fast food.
Cory DeAngelis
Food.
Jake Novak
It's something I'll take a look at with Emily Finn just ahead. And what happens when a company pays a few billion dollars more than it should have for a bunch of over the counter pills and band Aids? I'll tell you what happens. Someone comes out from behind the projection room with a bat. No, that's what Gumby said. Actually, investors punish the stock. They really punished the stock. I'll explain. American Sunrise early edition will be right there.

Welcome to New Yorkistan. It's gonna be changed. The name is gonna be changed to New Yorkistan. If Zoran Mamdani wins. Also New York grodd like Stalingrad. Welcome, comrades, to the first day of the glorious counter revolution. Oh, please, God, no. I'm hoping for a miracle. Zoran Mandani will be stopped. It's a great city. I know a lot of you folks watching think it's deserving what it's getting, but I don't know. I don't know if anyone deserves this. Hey, yesterday on this program, I said Emily Finn doesn't need Ozempic. Okay, today I'm gonna go to ask her why she and the rest of her generation are not stuffing your faces at Chipotle. Because believe me, Chipotle would like to know. Emily, Chipotle spent really billions of dollars trying to be this cool brand for Gen Z ers. I think the reason simply why Gen Z isn't Eating there that much. I'm sure this is not your personal reason. You're probably just, you know, eating more healthy. But I think it's because it's too expensive. If you want people to go to fast food, including Gen Zers, then you got to give them fast food prices. And Chipotle isn't exactly super pricey, but it's a lot more expensive than McDonald's, Burger King or Taco Bell. I mean, isn't.
Emily Finn
Certainly is. I must admit, it's just not very good anymore. Chipotle used to be so good when I was in high school, when I was in college. And it just, the ingredients, it is really just. They've really gone away from what they originally, originally were doing. And I see so many other fast food chains, like Steak n Shake, for example, that are really kind of embracing the Maha movement. So me and my friends, the young Gen Zers, they're going to Steak and Shake these days because they're actually getting on board with the agenda that young people care about. And Jake, I will say I really appreciate you bringing up these Ozempic comments. And you can only talk about a woman's weight if she doesn't need Oz.
Cory DeAngelis
Epic.
Jake Novak
That's right. That's right. Hey, listen, I hope everyone found on the Internet. I didn't talk about it on this program, but there was a college football game about six weeks ago where some cheerleaders took the field for the opposing team and the PA announcer said, and that cheerleading team is doing a commercial for Ozempic. I mean, why that guy wasn't run out on a rail and tarred and feathered, I don't know. So I learned my lesson from that. I'm not. I'm not saying anyone needs Ozempic, whether they. You certainly don't need it. But even if they did, even if you did, I wouldn't say it. All right, now let's cleanse our mental palette right now. Emily. From Mexican food woes to this. Check this out. USA. USA.
Lael Leibovitz
USA.
Jake Novak
USA. U.S.A. I'm a sucker for these videos. This is Jack Cittarelli at a rally yesterday, the last day before the election day, today being surprised by his son who was an active duty soldier in Kuwait. Surprising him and showing up. I'm a sucker for those videos. You know, where the little kid is in school and their dad or mom comes back from the Gulf or wherever it is. A nice little scene there. I know you love these videos too, Emily.
Emily Finn
An absolutely beautiful moment. There is nothing more important this entire world than faith and family. And this is a perfect example of that. I mean, my God, seeing a grown man on the verge of tears like that makes me wanna cry. That is so beautiful. So awesome that his son was able to do this for him. Like I said, family is one of the most important things in the world. And it really doesn't matter if you support this guy politically or not. You have to support that moment.
Jake Novak
Yeah, it's a nice thing. And, you know, look, at the end of the day, these people do have families. I don't know how the children of politicians get through childhood. Honestly, I don't. Obviously, this guy's a little bit younger than older than a child, but he certainly was there to support his dad. Emily Finn, we're going to see you in the next couple of hours on American Sunrise. Thank you so much for joining us. And we know you won't be injecting yourself with anything over the next 30 minutes, so thank you for that.
Emily Finn
Always a pleasure, Jake.
Cory DeAngelis
Thank you.

That's another look at Free New York City. Maybe this is the last day of freedom. Free New York City before the expected, I say expected election of Zoran Mamdani. I'm holding out hope for a political miracle. You gotta, you can't blame me for it. That's the neighboring city to me and I lived there for many years. Let's take a look where the markets will begin today. And it's a sea of red on Wall street right now. A little bit of a pullback. People are taking some profits and not loving all the spending on some of the AI companies. The last time we saw something like this, it was much bigger. It was back in April and it came back strong. So this may be a buying opportunity. We're seeing some, you know, 1.3% drop for the NASDAQ. That's all about some investors saying they want to pull back from some of the AI investment just a little bit, take a profit. Also, I want you to look at crude oil. We're back at the 60 level. Just barely going to dip below 60 bucks probably today or the next day. And you're going to see that at the gas pump. I'm going to talk about that in a minute. Let's take a look at bitcoin, which again has been struggling in the last couple of weeks. And there you see it, 104. That's a pretty low number compared to what we've seen in the last few weeks. And it's down 2 and a third percent. I also think it's going to go back up, but that's just my, my inclination. I'm not giving official investment advice. Hey, a big merger kicked off the week for the Business world and man, investors were not shy about weighing in on this one. Now, a company called Kimberly Clark, that's the company that owns Huggies and Kleenex and a lot of those other types of products, bought another company called Ken View, you may never have heard of that company. And that's because Ken View was spun off by Johnson and Johnson. They put Tylenol and Band Aid and some of their other consumer products over the counter consumer products into a different company called Ken View a couple of years ago. And so that deal is worth about $50 billion now. Can be the company being bought as per normal in a big merger story. Its shares went up 13% yesterday. That's normal. Companies being bought usually for a little bit of a premium. Everybody on that side of the trade is happy. But the people who owned Kimberly Clark shares really are upset now. That stock fell 14% yesterday. Now that's not unusual for the buyer in a merger situation for their shares to fall, they usually fall 1 or 2%, something like that. 14% means investors really feel like Kimberly Clark overpaid for this sucker and they're really angry about it. This is, I haven't seen anything like this in a long time. Even Time Warner when they bought AOL, remember for $100 billion back in the year 2000, that ridiculous deal, even they didn't get punished this way. What a weird, weird situation there. The mess. Really thought that Ken View wasn't worth the price. And they probably are upset about all the controversy surrounding Tylenol and maybe they felt this wasn't the time to buy or if at least they were going to buy, get a discount. I don't think they got that.
Cory DeAngelis
Okay.
Jake Novak
If you haven't noticed, gasoline prices are falling again. Actually this morning the national average ticked up just a little to $3.05 a gallon from 303 the day before a couple of days running. But with oil prices going back down now to the $60 a barrel level, I think it's going to get below that. I really do think we're going to see the national average for gasoline get below $3 a gallon very soon. Boy, you can expect a big announcement from President trumpeting that when that happens, and rightfully so, when you adjust for inflation, we're paying very low historical historically prices for gasoline right now. And that helps the economy in ways a lot of people, especially in the mainstream media, don't measure. But I will. Hey, everybody, remember Lisa Cook? Remember her? The Fed governor who's accused of mortgage fraud and President Trump fired her but she got a judge to let her stay on the job. Well, she's finally speaking out. Fed governors often give speeches. I don't know why we need Fed governors. One person and a computer can make decisions about our interest rates. Frankly, we certainly don't need four or five of them, but that's another discussion. Anyway, she's out there and she's speaking. And guess what she's saying? She's saying, just like Jay Powell, that she's not so sure the Fed should cut rates again in December, which is exactly the opposite of what President Trump wants. So surprise, surprise, she's going to be out there speaking and saying the opposite of what President Trump and what the economy needs right now. She's just as compromised as anybody else politically in American government. Her qualifications to be a Fed governor again, a job I don't really think needs to exist. Anyway, we're already in question and now we're going to have to deal with this. Luckily, it looks like the markets aren't paying much attention to her. And they shouldn't. Okay, ladies and gentlemen, start your engines. Hey, this is Moving america. Sponsored by artillerytea company. Artilleryteaco.com use promo code liberty for 20% off your order. Artillery Tea is all natural whole leaf. The tea bags are chemical free and each tea bag can be used twice. Artillery Tea Company is family and veteran owned and operated. And a portion of your purchase goes to help veteran and first responder charities. Artillerytco.com promo code LIBERTY for 20 off your order. I knew. So did you. I knew that EV sales would tank in October because October was the first month that that federal 7, $500 tax credit for buying an EV no longer was in place. So we knew that it was going to drop off a cliff. And a number of the big companies reported 40, 50, even 60% drops in their electric vehicle sales. But this one takes the cake. Toyota reported it sold 18. That's right, just 18 of their all electric BZ4X vehicles in October. Now, a year ago in October, they sold 1401, and the month before they sold 61. No one is going to buy these vehicles anymore without that federal tax credit. And here's a spoiler alert. If you have a product that won't sell any unless the government pays the customers to buy it, you're not making a great product. It's as simple as that. I'm sure it's a reliable car and all that. I'm not saying it's a lemon, but it's not what people want right now. And without the credit, they're not going to buy it. Now, Ford, its EV sales tanked like everyone else's it reported yesterday. But overall, Ford's sales were up in October. Why is that? Because there's big new demand for smaller trucks like the Ford Maverick and the Ford Ranger. Now of course, the Ford F150, their big truck, that's still their big winner over there at Ford. But the fact is, more and more people, probably people who are not necessarily contractors and plumbers and things like that or construction folks, are buying these smaller trucks because they have things to haul as well and they don't want to put them in their upholstered regular cars or SUVs. The Ford Maverick and the Ford Ranger, these are going to be winners in the future. So everyone should take a look at that right now. Now. Hey, it's been a long time since those hosers in Canada have implemented a policy that I think was pro freedom. But Ontario Premier Doug Ford is actually doing it. I want to show you some video of speed cameras. Is our next video in the queue in Ontario? There he is. That's Doug Ford. He's like the governor of Ontario. He has decided to get rid of speed cameras everywhere in the province of Ontario. Why? Because we all know why. Speed cameras aren't about enforcing safety and making people safer. They're about tricking and catching you off guard and giving you a ticket. We all know what that's about. Now, I don't know when the last time was Canada actually did something pro freedom and helping the actual regular dude, but they're doing it here. And I would like to see speed cameras here in the United States also eliminated. If there are areas in America, on American roads where speed needs to be enforced, then let them enforce it with signs and with cops. But stop with the gotcha cameras all over the place in places where they're not needed. Good for you, Doug Ford. Might be the only time I ever say that, but good for you, Doug Ford. Now here's a hot piece of advice. Don't buy a high priced car just because Timothy Chalamet does the commercials for it. Leaseholders for the lucid luxury EV are getting dinged for massive end of lease costs. Listen, by the way, you lease any car whether it's a lucid or not. You got to be careful when you return it. Sometimes they ding you for an extra month's payment. That's happened to me a couple of times. Sometimes they ding you for supposed damage to the car with a big bill. But lucid takes the cake. Almost everyone returning a lucid after releases reporting massive, multiple, multiple thousand dollar bills for little things like small scratches on a taillight, 40$600 bill for that, things like that that are really getting them upset. And this is going to destroy whatever's left of the lucid business. Now, again, these are electric cars, so people aren't necessarily going to buy them anyway, but Timothy shall. Maybe they should. Instead of paying Timothy Chalamet, who they must have backed up a Brinks truck at his house to do these commercials. Maybe instead of paying him, they could lower these costs for the people returning their leases. That's one of my pet peeves. Leasing a car is one thing, some people need to do it, but when you return it, you get dinged for these unfair charges. And lucid is really, really pushing the envelope on that one. Okay, coming up, if Abigail Spanberger wins today's governor's election in Virginia, she may have the school system to thank for giving her a big free ride. My next guest will explain all that. And we're also talking about Nancy Pelosi. She may be calling it quits. God knows her super Polygrip did decades ago. Why can't this woman who's worth almost a billion dollars get implants for her teeth, for God's sakes? Her teeth are slipping out of her face in every interview. She needs to slip out of the house. And we'll be talking about that on American Sunrise early edition.

It's Tuesday, November 4th, here at this morning's top stories. Election Day is here with crucial races for governor in New Jersey and Virginia, a mayor's race in New York City, judges races in Pennsylvania and a ballot initiative in California. Here's the question. Will the voters, especially the Trump voters, show up in these off year contests? They better. Speaking of turning out, Barack Obama is offering his advice and his phone number to communists Islamist Zoran Mamdani in New York. But he is stopping short of endorsing him. My goodness, can you imagine the skeleton in his closet that would keep Obama from endorsing him? I don't want to know. I guess I do. But the mainstream media is already spinning all the elections today as some kind of new blue wave against President Trump. Not quite. Each of the contests today is in either a blue state or a very blue city. And it's one hold serve must win for the Democrats after another. Any win today by a Republican will be a big one for President Trump. And former vice president, former secretary of defense and former congressman Dick Cheney has died at the age of 84. Cheney went from a hero to many Republicans and all Americans for his handling of the first Gulf War to a demonized punching bag for America's left during the second Bush administration and then someone hated by the MAGA world because of his very public break with President Trump over personal reasons. American SUNRISE EARLY EDITION continues.

As I just told you this morning. Welcome back to AMERICAN SUNRISE EARLY edition. Dick Cheney, the former vice president of the United States under President George W. Bush from 2001 until 2009, has died at the age of 84. A very, very long career in many different positions, starting as a congressman from Wyoming. He was sort of from Wyoming. He didn't live there his whole life. He went to Yale, by the way. So he wasn't exactly a cowboy loved by most of the country after the first Gulf War for his handling of it as secretary of defense, then hated by the left for the second Gulf War and for the fact that he was considered to be the man behind the curtain in the second Bush administration. And then he turned on his fellow Republicans because of his personal hatred and I think jealousy of President Trump. Definitely a remarkable life, though, and not a boring one. Dick Cheney is gone at the age of 84. Joining us right now to talk about today's Election Day's Election Day and all the things going on right now is American Culture Project Senior fellow Cory DeAngelis. Corey's been on the show a couple of times. He is America's Team top expert about the worst things going on in public schools in this country. And I think that the politicization of public schools is bad enough when it's in the curriculum. But you've had something that you've been putting on your social media accounts about the election in Virginia and how maybe some of these public schools there have really given Abigail Spanberger, the Democrat, a major shot in the arm that they shouldn't have. Tell us a little bit about that, Corey.
Cory DeAngelis
Yeah, look, this has happened in many states, but it's happening in Virginia right now, where school districts, specifically Portsmouth Public Schools in Virginia, apparently use taxpayer resources to push a political agenda to hold a campaign rally on their school premises in their library. Actually, they rented it out to the Spamberger campaign for free, it appears, during school hours, during paid work hours. And the employees basically showed up and listened to this campaign rally for Abigail Spamberger. And they also had their teacher of the year from one of their middle schools speak from the podium and endorse Abigail as well. So, look, the government school cartel should not be allowed to put its thumb on the scale to influence elections using our taxpayer dollars to go and campaign for Democrats. It's that simple. And this happened in my home state of Texas last year. And our attorney General, Ken Paxton, actually sued seven school districts for doing similar activity. It actually led to a couple of criminal indictments in my home state of Texas. And one of the superintendents that was embroiled in the scandal resigned shortly afterwards when there was reports of a. Of another investigation happening. So Virginia's Attorney General, Jason Miares, I know he's busy with his election right now, but, you know, especially if he wins reelection today, and I think he will, especially after the J2 bullets Jones text messages were revealed showing that Jay Jones wishes death upon children for political purposes. Jason Mears needs to look into this. I know some parents on the ground are really upset that their tax money is going towards political purposes for Democrats. We already knew the teachers union was an arm of the Democrat Party, basically a money laundering operation for Democrats. But now we have government school districts and evidence of this that was uncovered by Restoration News even. They also uncovered FOIA emails showing that the district communications officer admitted that this happened in the middle of the school day. They had their chief operations officer getting the campaign directly coordinated with the principal at the school to corral teachers to go to this event, all using their official district emails. This looks like it's blatantly, I would say it's unconstitutional because they're using money for political purposes, but it looks like it does not adhere to Virginia law either, because they have in their code that it could be a Class 4 felony to use government taxpayer resources for political purposes. And that's exactly what it appears happened at Portsmouth Public Schools. At Norcome High School.
Jake Novak
Yeah, you know, you'll get people with their hair on fire in one second if they find out there's a religious group meeting paid, you know, giving money. It's not like they're doing it for free using school property on a Sunday or during the summer when school isn't in session. But they're all fine with a political rally there. I got, by the way, I have news for any group like that. If you can make a deal with these folks, hey, don't have your political rally at the school and we'll do our religious meetings elsewhere. You're going to come out ahead because you'll always find a church or another place that will host that. I don't think that these rallies will find another home other than these government owned properties. So you might come out ahead, Corey. And we're talking about Virginia. Go ahead, go ahead Corey.
Cory DeAngelis
Well, and imagine if Winsome Sears did the same thing. Yeah, you're right. The school district would be all up in arms. And now look, these people are supposed to be responsible for educating kids and they don't understand the law in Virginia. And Abigail Spamberger, for her to go and do this, she should be very attuned to what's happening with the law. And Jay Jones was there as well. He wants to be the head of the legal arm of Virginia and he's going to this campaign event on school property. Portsmouth Public Schools even have has its own district level policy saying that school buildings can't be used for political purposes. And they did just that. And their rental agreement shows it happened through the entire school day. They had it rented out and guess what? They charged the Spam Burger campaign a grand total of $0. It appears to be an in kind contribution to the Democrats and that's reprehensible. And parents should demand school choice so that they don't have to send their taxpayer money and reward these districts who don't care about the law and don't care about Republicans. And some of them might actually want Republicans dead if you looked at the J. Jones text messages. And teachers need to opt out of the union and join alternatives like the Teacher Freedom Alliance. They can go to opt out today.com if they don't want to continue funneling money to the education association. That's basically just an arm of the Democrats, their political opponents.
Jake Novak
You know, I'd like to get your take on a theory I've always had, and I don't think I'm alone about this, about why Democrats do this. There are three industries in America where that has to be in your face to get people to think about it. Because otherwise we would just go about our lives. One is pornography. People would just go get a date instead of buying that stuff. Two is personal injury lawyers. They'd either just go to the doctor and get better, realize it was just an act of God, or, or maybe go punch someone in the face who didn't shovel their walk. And three is voting for Democrats. The reason why they go into the schools, the reason why they put it in the curriculum, the reason why they put it in the plots of supposed to be entertaining movies is because otherwise no one would think of voting for these losers. I mean this is really. They have to be in your face. So porn, personal injury and Democrats, if they're not in your face, you're not going to even think about them. And that's why they do this. That's my theory, Corey.
Cory DeAngelis
I think that's exactly right. And you've seen this from the roots of the government school system. They found out that they could infiltrate the schools and push their far left agenda to churn out more Democrat foot soldiers who by the time they're 18 can go and vote right after high school to push their socialist agenda. So look, the far left has figured out they don't even have to have their own kids anymore. They can infiltrate the schools, shape the young minds of millions of impressionable kids and conservatives, yeah, they tend to have more children than Democrats, but the Democrats tend to be more in control of the government school systems. They stack the numbers on the school boards, the teachers unions give 99% of their political contributions to the Democrats. It's a one sided political operation. And that some Republicans have woken up and said no more, not today, Satan. We're taking back our schools. We're taking back our kids. Ultimately the conservatives will be able to take back the country, but they have to strike at the root. And I think school choice is part of that. I think it's teachers opting out of the union and funding these monsters as part of the equation as well. And it's also winning some school board seats and winning some big elections like the ones that we have coming up today. The betting odds show that at least we might have one victory in Virginia with Jason Miara is winning his seat back as Attorney General. That'll be a big deal. I think the markets show him showing a about a 60% likelihood of winning today in a state where it looks like I don't see the energy there with Winsome Sears like that we saw in 2021 with Governor Glenn Youngkin. There was a, a seismic level of support for Glenn Youngkin in 2021. Hopefully, winsome Sears can pull it off as well. But when you have government school districts putting their thumb on the scale against the Republicans, it makes it an uphill battle.
Jake Novak
Yeah, you know, there's definitely some soul searching that needs to be done among the Republican Party in Virginia. They did not, I don't believe they worked hard enough in this election. Some, some grassroots people did, like my friend Walter Kurt, who's been a guest on this show many times, has uncovered some things down there. I'm a former Virginia resident, Norfolk, Virginia. And to see the change in that state has just been really sad to me. Winsome Sears is an absolutely deserving candidate. The good news is I do think, you know, I'm predicting a victory in New Jersey and certainly Jason Mayres, I think, has got this one, too. I agree with you there. But please go out and vote if you're watching this in Virginia, if you haven't voted yet. Cory DeAngelis, thank you so much for joining us and always keeping an eye on the public schools. How pathetic do you have to be to be a teacher and to try to indoctrinate children? Just get a hobby, please. Thank you so much for joining us.
Cory DeAngelis
Thanks, Jake. Good talking to you.

All right, ladies and gentlemen, this just in. Nancy Pelosi represents one of the richest districts in America. We're going to talk briefly about that because there's a report that she's going to be retiring and maybe announcing that tomorrow. But David Brody will talk, and I will also talk about Dick Cheney and his either legacy or just what people are going to think about of him from now on. I guess that's the same thing. American Sunrise EARLY EDITION is coming right back.

Good morning, comrades from the New York estate, Pakistan, New Yorker grad. Today is the beginning of the glorious counter revolution. Geez, I hope that I don't have to say that tomorrow. Zoran Mamdani, the communist Islamist, apparently still likely to win. Apparently it's been a tightening in the polls. I'm hoping for a miracle in a county neighboring New York City, although there are massive numbers of refugees from New York City who want to buy houses at overpriced, overpriced, overpriced numbers. Maybe that'll be okay for Nassau County. Welcome back to AMERICAN Sunrise EARLY edition. I want to talk about Dick Cheney just for us in a second with David Brody. But while David's here, I also want to talk about these reports that Nancy Pelosi, maybe as early as tomorrow will announce her retirement from Congress. You know, I think this is an interesting case of people are going to say, well, she was this the first woman to be the speaker of the House. That's factually correct, all that kind of stuff. But honestly, I think she also oversaw a decline of a party that really could be in a lot much better situation right now. I mean, Barack Obama, I think, deserves most of the blame for that, for moving the party crazy to the left. But Nancy Pelosi deserves it, too. This could be a Democrat party that could be much stronger and much better for America like it was, I think, under Bill Clinton. And so I think she deserves a lot of the blame for that. David?
David Brody
Yeah, I know we'll be brief on this because we get to Dick Cheney, but she's a liberal from San Francisco and she lived up to the billing and that's really a bottom line. I mean, she was able to, in essence, convey her values and push those values and also, let's be honest, keep the caucus together. I mean, that's probably her best attribute, if you will. Personally, I don't give a rip about her best attributes, but if you're going to look historically at her for sure, she kept that party together and you got to give her credit politically for that, but that's about it.
Jake Novak
Yeah, well, if she does retire, I'm shorting all my shares of Super Polygrip because honestly, the worst dentures, considering she's almost a Billionaire. It's really a sign of mental illness, by the way, if you're wealthy and your teeth are bad, there's something wrong with you. All right, let's go to Dick Cheney. Now, in all seriousness, passing away. Talk about a controversial figure and a mercurial one. David. This guy went from being loved by just about all the country during the first Gulf War, hated very viciously by the left and the Democrats during the second Gulf War and the second Bush administration. And then when he turned on Donald Trump, President Trump in 2020, I think only for personal reasons, and called him the greatest threat to democracy in American history, he became hated by not only MAGA world people, but people, you know, just in the middle who thought it's going a little too far there. Boy, this guy had a hell of a heck of a life. But and all the way, by the way, he was from Wyoming. He wasn't a cowboy, though. He went to Yale. Let's make sure we know who we're talking about here.
David Brody
He dropped out from Yale too, by the way. But yeah, for sure.
Jake Novak
Look.
David Brody
Right, so there's a lot to unpack about Dick Cheney. But let's just say this Donald Trump came in to the Republican Party and torched the place. And there you have it. I mean, Cheney said, I'm out, along with the Bill Kristol's and others of the world. And so if you think about it, we're having an obit today for Dick Cheney. But there are two obits here, right? I mean, there's the obit if it happened in 2009, and there's an obit that happened in 2025. I mean, if you go back to 2009, I'm not talking about the young Maga of today or the libertarian boomers of today. You might include yourself in that, obviously. But I'm talking about the traditional boomers of the past. They loved Dick Cheney back in the day they did. And today they can't stand him. And I think that is direct result of what President Trump did to the Republican Party.
Jake Novak
Yeah, well, I think it was needed. Whether it was Trump or someone else, the Republican Party brand under Cheney by 2009 was dead. Anyway, American Sunrise coming up next, Early Edition back tomorrow. See you then.
