Ahead on American Sunrise Early Edition, Democrats continue to try to look desperate and angry all about a shutdown of their own making. The latest stunt was allowed near riot outside of Speaker Mike Johnson's office. But here's something the Democrats should really get upset about. According to polling guru Harry Entin, their chance of winning the 2026 midterms are plummeting. But will the Republicans do the work to keep the Congress? Here's something that isn't helping the Democrats either. Their national appeal goes down when guys like Illinois Governor J.B. pritzker say that police in his state might arrest ICE agents when they try to apprehend dangerous illegal aliens. This is an enormously unpopular position in the sane voting districts of America. In the Middle east, as Hamas continues to kill its own people publicly in the streets of Gaza, work is being done to figure out which country's troops will go into Gaza and bring some peace. It will not be U.S. troops, though. And an independent investigation has uncovered shocking evidence about the North Carolina magistrate who freed the career criminal who murdered Ukrainian refugee Irina Zyrutska in Charlotte. You're not going to believe this. American SUNRISE EARLY EDITION begins now. Welcome to American SUNRISE EARLY edition, the show where faith, freedom and the values that built this nation take center stage. Your good deeds and bad deeds, that's how we're going to judge you. Join host Jake Novak as he breaks down the stories that matter. He will be letting the public know regularly what we have found. American Sunrise EARLY EDITION with your host Jake Novak starts now. Welcome to a Thursday. It's already Thursday here on American Sunrise EARLY EDITION and everywhere else here on Real America's Voice. I'm Jake Novak. Thank you so much for joining us. I think it's day 15, day. Yeah, day 15, day 16 of the government shutdown and so little attention is being paid to it and that the Democrats who started the shutdown and keep voting to extend the shutdown are now protesting the shutdown. I know that doesn't make a lot of sense, but when you have a very compliant and also stupid, that's a hell of a combination, son. That drunk and stupid are no way to go through life, son. Dean Wormer. But when you're that when you have a compliant mainstream news media, that's also kind of stupid. I guess they think they can get away with it, but not here. But let's go to the Middle east where we have some peace. Just kidding. Actually, we do. And joining us right now is the former chair of the Trump 47 National Women's Leadership Coalition. Iri Trat, you reached just back from Israel. I thought you were gonna be live from Jerusalem this morning, but you got back really quickly. You're a globetrotter. That's okay. You were in Jerusalem on Monday. Yuri was supposed to join us on Monday, but a little thing called the Trump speech at the Knesset preempted us. And that was fine. That was totally fine. But irit, while many of us are still celebrating all the things that President Trump did, the return of the living hostages, of course there are still some serious violations, surprise, surprise, being committed by Hamas right now. They say they can't find all the dead hostages to return their bodies. This is just incredible. I mean, the level of depravity of this organization, whatever is left of it, is just beyond a little concerning and very sad. And the world shouldn't forget that this is who Hamas is and who Israel was fighting for the last two years.
Irit Trat
Absolutely. I mean, there's no surprise, right, that they're violating the ceasefire right now. They can't find the bodies. They're reasserting control right now by executing in broad daylight. You know, there's cell phone footage of these horrifying executions taking place in Gaza. Where are all the protesters? I thought they're pro Palestinian. Well, they should be out there right now protesting this. You know, a huge factor in this are the Palestinian people. This is their moment, too. Where are they going to go from here? They've spent years going down this rabbit hole of a grievance driven agenda. This is their moment. President Trump is giving them an enormous opportunity to pave a path of peace for their people. Everybody wants to see them thrive and succeed. The Americans, the Arab world, the Europeans. This is their moment. But as we saw, Tal Shoham Young hostage, who was just released, said that he was moved over the last two years from a university lecturer. He was held in the house of a doctor, a lecturer, a first grade teacher. So I don't want to discount that the Palestinian people have an enormous role to play in paving a brighter path forward for their people. Anat Wilf, who is a former Knesset member, she's formerly of the left, she's recently moved to the center. But she said, you know, October 7th took an enormous amount of planning, vision, resources. I mean, it was used for terrible purposes. But the Palestinian people are capable people. And I think the world is watching right now and seeing what Hamas does and seeing if the Palestinian people are going to elect and prop up people and maybe some of these factions who are now fighting Hamas, who can pave a path towards prosperity for them.
Jake Novak
Well, I don't think anyone's ever given them a path to prosperity before or a message of peace or a message of just getting on with their lives. The entire Palestinian peoplehood has been meant to be human cannon fodder to kill people. And they really haven't really had anyone to tell them or show them any other way. It's going to be very difficult to turn that around. It reminds me of the Land of Mordor and the Lord of the Rings books. But he read Israel does have unique backing this time if there is no change in the way that the Palestinian people think or act, because President Trump has really given them the green light. And this is what's been reported in the Jerusalem Post, an article over the evening that President Trump's made it really clear that if Hamas does anything more to start hostilities again, Israel has a complete green light. That's just not something that other presidents have ever given Israel.
Irit Trat
100%. I mean, I was in Israel on October 7th, and to be there two years later and see President Trump come to Israel, he wears his love for the Jewish people and the land of Israel on his sleeve. He's not embarrassed about it. He's proud of it. And we saw that when he came to the Knesset, he was relaxed, he was joyous, he was among friends. The Israeli people know it. I mean, I was there. The land was awash in American flags. He's not only the peacemaker in chief, he's the unifier in chief. I was in Tel Aviv with secular Israelis, left wing Israelis in Jerusalem with religious, more conservative Israeli Jews. They all love President Trump and something you haven't seen before. You're right. Even past Republican administrations like George H.W. bush or a Democratic administration like Bill Clinton used the term an honest broker. You don't see that from President Trump. He loves Israel. When he spoke to the Knesset, he didn't ask for Israel ask of Israel anything. The only thing he asked was President Herzog to pardon Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. That was the only ask he had. Unlike the Democrats, who constantly viewed Israel as a liability. I mean, if I had a penny for every time a Democrat politician said Israel has a right to defend itself. I mean, that's implied. Every sovereign nation has a right to defend itself. You'll never hear something so patronizing coming out of the mouth of President Trump. He views Israel as an ally, as an asset. He views Netanyahu as a critical and vital partner in expand peace in the region.
Jake Novak
Yeah. The Democrats line is you have a right to defend yourself, but I have the authority to tell you how and when you should do it and how many of your people should die and how many you should sacrifice. That's what the Democrat message has been for a long time. But you know, Irit, one of the things that really makes me laugh is we have had so many people on the far left. The far left is the entire Democrat Party right now on the Republican side, on the conservative side, there's a percentage of people, very small, incredibly radical, who continue to tell us that this is World War 3 and that this is the end. I mean, the war is now over and they're still talking about how this is the end. I mean, this is such. They've been proven wrong so much. The United States has come through this very, very unscathed. There are no American troops in harm's way in that country right now. And now I'm personally on my edge of my seat. I can't wait to see which foreign countries are this. Cause a number of them have already volunteered to send their peacekeeping forces into Gaza. Now I'm personally rooting for Indonesia because that's the largest Muslim country in the world, but it's not Arab and it's much more moderate. And their leadership, both religious and political, has been trying to get more moderate in that country even more every year. And I think that would be great because that would end this whole Arab narrative. You know, while the other Arab countries in the Gulf make peace with Israel, then you have a non Arab Muslim country helping to keep the peace as well. That would be my favorite thing. But, you know, this is a huge, huge defeat for those who said the US was gonna get dragged into World War 3. That somehow Benjamin Netanyahu leads President Trump around by the nose. It's such a pathetic argument. The fact that they're still saying it now when everything is just so obviously going the other way. It's like getting your F on your test and then walking around and saying, look, I got an A. I mean, it's just ridiculous. You lost. Please be quiet now.
Irit Trat
Please be quiet and refocus your energies on something else. I mean, we're about to do a lot of good in the region. You mentioned Azerbaijan, Indonesia. Indonesia, the most populous Muslim country in the world, whose president at the United nations just last month stood up before the UN General assembly and said Israel's security must be guaranteed. And I think even Israelis were taken aback by that. There were some rumblings that he was going to visit Israel over Simchat Torah, but it was a Jewish holiday. He backed out in the last minute. Probably wasn't going to be the best time for him to visit. But you're absolutely right. We have voices. They're still outliers, they're on the fringe. Right. Who just don't want to see this succeed. But, you know, President Trump is the leader of the MAGA movement. He's leader of America first movement, and he's going to do tremendous things for Israel and for the region. Another, I think, objective of the far right base is to drive not only a wedge between maga, but to create some distance between evangelical Christians and Jewish Americans, conservative Jewish Americans. If you remember, pro Israel support within America wasn't always as high as it is today. For instance, after the Lebanon war in 82, Israel's pro Israel sentiments in the United States dipped a bit. And it was only with the rise of Christian Zionism years later that the relationship between the two countries really flourished. So we need to keep an eye on this and make sure that no cracks emerge in this relationship because we have an incredible friend in President Trump and the Trump administration, not only with secure. Helping secure Israel's security, but also with paying attention to rising antisemitism in America, going head to head with these campus protesters and taking action, something that the Democratic administration would never do. In fact, they spent their years appeasing these pro Hamas radicals on campus.
Jake Novak
Yeah, and something we really need to underline as well is that while this is going on, while President Trump is affecting this peace in the Middle east and visiting Israel and then coming right back, he is absolutely also 100% focused on the America first agenda while this is all going on. He's still doing incredible work with ICE and getting the as much as the illegal alien population out of this country, we are now in an open declared war against the drug cartels that are killing our people on our own borders. The list goes on and on and on. I mean, it's amazing. You have people who are literally saying in the same sentence, well, the President's focusing too much on Israel and why is he doing all this America first stuff over? I mean, honestly, he's proving everyone wrong. Because the argument for years has been, well, you know, these presidents are too interested in foreign policy and they forget what's going on here on our own borders. President Trump is proving that you can walk and chew gum at the same time. He's doing a heck of a lot more than that. And I just wish that these people who are pushing. Listen, you can push a narrative that I don't agree with. Everyone has a right to do that. But when you've been proven so incredibly wrong just in the last 10 days or so, please sit down and be quiet. But he reached right. I'm glad you didn't sit down and be quiet for us for this. Thank you so much for joining us. Get over your jet lag and it's only Thursday, but have a good weekend. I know you're going to need the rest.
Irit Trat
Thanks. You, too.
Jake Novak
All right. Coming up later this hour, even as they drag the government shutdown longer and longer, the polls have some bad news for Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries and the rest of the congressional Democrats. I'm going to tell you what that is. But first, speaking of bad news, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker ups the ante and his secessionist and downright dangerous deranged anti Trump policies. I'll tell you what he's trying to push now. American Sunrise EARLY edition. We'll be right back.

There's a live look at Chicago, Illinois, this morning. No, we're not in black and white this morning. It's just really dark. You see Lake Michigan off there. I'm sure it's a little bit chillier there than it is in West Palm Beach. Here in Long island, we've had ups and downs with the weather. We're going to keep it in Illinois. Our discussion in Illinois for this segment right now. Welcome back to American Sunrise EARLY edition. I'm Jake Novak. Special welcome to those of you on the getter and the rumble chats, watching and commenting on Substack and on X. You can watch the show live on X, and then you can keep the link and watch it all day if you'd like. Why not? Illinois Governor J.B. pritzker is openly now in defiance of the federal government. He's been. He's been that already, but now he's really, I think, going too far. Listen to his threat against ICE agents who are just doing their job and trying to apprehend illegal aliens, dangerous illegal aliens in his state. Listen to what he's threatening them with. Check it out. The tables will turn someday. These people should recognize that maybe they're not going to get prosecuted today, although we're looking at doing that. But they may get prosecuted after the Trump administration for the things that they did, because the statute of limitations won't have run. Emily Finn joins us now. Emily, let me get this straight. You're an ICE agent arresting a dangerous illegal alien, and the governor of Illinois is threatening to arrest you? Maybe not now, but later. Are you kidding me?
Emily Finn
It makes absolutely no sense, Jake. I mean, his sole job, right, is to keep the people of Illinois safe, to make sure that they are happy that his constituents are safe and having normal lives. And this is the one thing that he should be throwing his weight behind and supporting. He's calling President Trump. I saw this article in the Daily Beast trying to say that President Trump has mental health issues because of his crackdown on crime through ICE throughout the entire country. And that is just unbelievable because the president, for the Democrats over the past four years, actually had mental health issues. He was asleep at the wheel for four years.
Jake Novak
And.
Emily Finn
And that's why crime has been running rampant all over the U.S. and so finally, President Trump is doing something about it. And JP Pritzker really needs to get his priorities in check.
Jake Novak
Yeah. I have a personal message for JB Pritzker, if he's listening or if someone wants to send this clip to him. The Democratic Party is using you, using you and your money and your big mouth as a useful idiot. If you think that the DNC is going to let you get within a million yards of the White House. You're the one who has mental illness problems. They will never let you touch the presidency. There's not gonna be a real primary process. Like the Democrats haven't had a real primary process since 2008. You think they're gonna change it now? You will not be the person that they crown as their nominee. This is why he's doing all this stuff, Emily. I'm sure you've seen it. I know there's a lot of talk about that in Chicago though. You're in Florida now, but you did live it. You did live there. This guy actually thinks he's gonna be president one day. How can we, how can we get him out of this delusion?
Emily Finn
I don't know. I don't know if there is a way, but the Democrat party is in shambles right now that someone like this actually thinks that they have a chance of getting that crown and getting the nomination. The fact of the matter is though, Jake, even if he does, even if he pulls off some miracle and is able to convince the party to throw their support behind him, he's never going to convince the American people with a record like this, an anti safety record like this, he's never going to be successful in any run on a national scale.
Jake Novak
Yeah, this, I mean, listen, the Democrats roadmap to success for years, to winning presidential elections was taking people from red or purple states. Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, whatever you think of those two guys, at least they learned how to campaign in states where there was some kind of divide, where the vote wasn't a foregone conclusion. But people like Kamala Harris and J.B. pritzker and Gavin Newsom who never face any real challenges, not from the politicians in their state because they're one party states and certainly not from their local news media, they are going to get lousy national candidates. It's like getting a kid out of high school and then throwing them in the NFL. They need seasoning and he doesn't have it. Emily Finn, thank you so much for joining us. We'll see you in the 8 to 10am hours and again tomorrow here. Thank you.
Emily Finn
Loved our chat this morning. Jake, thank you so much.
Jake Novak

As we get further into fall, these live shots from American cities are going to get darker and darker on this program. I apologize. That's the way it goes. But this is a live look at Atlanta, Georgia. Welcome back to American Sunrise EARLY edition. Let's take a look at where the markets are going to open this morning. And boy, when I show you these numbers every morning, you know, I think that most days those numbers kind of hold, that they're positive in the morning, they end up positive at the close in the afternoon. Boy, we've been up and down. There have been some really volatile days. A lot of money is being made on buying and selling and just volume the last couple days because we've had opens and then things go crazy one way or the other. Yesterday, mostly higher we closed, but it was all over the place again. Looks like we're going to open high. But take a look at gold, folks. 42.59 per ounce just keeps reaching new all time highs. And the percentage gains on a day to day basis are also big. Look at that 1.4% the gain right now for gold. Crude oil still well below 60 bucks a barrel, even though it's up this morning. That's an interesting number as well. Now let's take a look at bitcoin. Bitcoin not really joining this party lately. It's at 111 again, down from that 125 high we had about 10 days ago or so. But that's the way that's going. Hey, I want to talk about the whole situation with the rare earths battle because I know this is something that's a little bit confusing for folks. And everybody knows, of course, the mainstream media is not going to explain it to you. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessen, however, did do a good job of explaining the rare earth situation and how we got into this mess here in the United States. Scott Besson said the same thing I said yesterday on this program and the day before. A guest on this program said rare earths, all those minerals that are needed, all those metals that are needed for high tech type stuff and things in your car, things in our weapon systems, they're actually not rare, as the treasury secretary said. And we've been saying what's rare is the ability to mine them and to refine them properly. The United States used to do that a lot. Why did it stop? The answer is China. China, the Chinese companies that do all the mining, that do all the refining undercut the American companies. In other words, they went to the large tech companies, they went to the auto companies, and they said, we can do this. We can deliver this for you cheaper, even though it's going to be mined in another country. They undercut the American businesses and so they stopped paying all that money to refine and mine the rare earths. This is basically a trade violation. It's called dumping. When you bring in a product or a service at a much lower price than anyone could afford, the government backs up the companies doing that in their country so they can afford to live and eat while they destroy our businesses. That's why we got into this mess with rare earths, because basically our mining companies and refining companies were being undercut by China. This was an act of economic warfare. And now we're trying to get back that. That is why we're in this renewed trade battle with China. They actually started it. I know I sound like a third grader when I say this, but they started it by undercutting our mining and refining businesses. That's my best explanation. Now go tell everybody else who's bothering you about it? All right now here's something I know will actually warm your heart or everyone's heart. I know we've all been worried about the banks. I know you go to sleep every night worrying about Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan. I'm just kidding. But they are doing really, really well. This has been a week of the bank's earnings reports. Bank of America, Wells Fargo, the aforementioned Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan, Citigroup, they all came out with their earnings reports this week. And guess what? They're real and they're spectacular. In an atmosphere when the Fed is lowering rates. The Fed is lowering rates on the amount of interest that the banks have to pay each other or the banks have to pay the Fed. In other words, they're getting money and cash from the government at a much lower rate than they're lending it out to you and me or investing it out to others. They love these kinds of situations. The banks are getting rich. The investment banking world has also woken up. That's independent of the Fed. There's been a lot more mergers and acquisitions. The rich are definitely having a very good summer and fall. I know you're worried about them, but you don't need to be worried about them anymore. Okay, now this AI stuff is starting to get really real. Walmart kind of real. Walmart announced yesterday and the day before that. Now they're going to be using AI and ChatGPT in particular for Walmart.com now for those of you who don't know, Walmart.com has been probably the most improved and powerful E retailing website in America over the last ten years or so. It is getting very, very good. It is starting to really cut into Amazon's business. When was the last time you thought anyone would ever say that? And so for Walmart to embrace a an advanced AI program on their website, which is already gaining on Amazon and something Amazon isn't quite doing yet, that's a big deal. And that is why Walmart shares, by the way closed at an all time high yesterday and the day before that. They did it as well. It keeps going higher. Walmart is basically. It's the revenge. It's the Empire strikes back, folks. They may end up winning this battle with Amazon in the end after all. And what an amazing story that would be. Okay, ladies and gentlemen, start your engines. It's moving America. Sponsored by ArtilleryTea Company ArtilleryTea Co.com Use promo code LIBERTY for 20% off your order. Artillery Tea is all natural, whole leaf. The tea bags are chemical free. We've been talking about this for years and on this show, we've been talking about it for weeks. I love some of the Chrysler products, I love some of the Jeep and Dodge products. But every time Stellantis, which is the latest owner of Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge, you know they've had a lot of owners, including Mercedes, obviously was an American owned company at one time. It never seems to work. The Jeep brand is really the only one that's very, very strong. But more power to them. They say this $13 billion investment over the next four years is going to create 5,000 new U.S. automaker jobs. That would be great. I'm certainly hoping it works out for them. But they've got to do something about some of their models that are just not as reliable as Ford and GM's models, let alone the Japanese models. But hey, they do make some amazing Jeeps. And speaking of Stellantis and Jeeps, last week I told you about how the Grand Wagoneer was going to stick around, but they were getting rid of Stellantis was just the regular rag Wagoneer brand. This is similar to what they did with Cherokee. Although they brought Cherokee back, they kept Grand Cherokee, got rid of Cher, now they're bringing it back. I'm sure they'll bring Wagoneer back one day also. But for the time being, it's just going to be the Grand Wagoneer. And with that change comes a price change as well. Now, this year's Grand Wagoneer, the cheapest one you can get, retails for about $87,000. Next year, the new Grand Wagoneer is going to have a lot of options, including some expensive ones, but they will have one that it will be under 65. So look for that. For those of you who have been about 20 grand short of getting the Wagoneer that you want, now you can get it. Here's some encouraging safety news. When the AAA conducted a test in 2019, it tested all these automatic car safety features to see how well they did avoiding hitting pedestrians at night. They all failed. This was six years ago. None of them did any, none of the models, none of the new technology did well at all, which is really disturbing because 75% of pedestrian deaths on the road come at night. Well, What a difference six years makes. Now, 60% of those programs worked perfectly. They avoided 60% of the pedestrians in these tough nighttime situations. I know that's not perfect. That's still a lot of people getting hit. I get it. But that's a big jump forward. And I want to point out one model in particular, the 2025 Toyota Camry had a 100% success rate with its automatic safety feature, not hitting pedestrians. So there you go. All right, now for the most important part of this program and probably the rest of our lives. Okay, I'm stretching it a little bit here, but Ford. Ford has teamed up with a company called a Cut Above Buckles. It's a boutique metal workshop in Utah. And they have created something called the Truckle. That's truck and belt buckle put together. It's a handmade belt buckle that can hold a Ford key fob. You can look this up and see pictures of it and buy it online if you want to. I will give you my address so you can buy from me. I think I need this thing. Yes, I want and need this item. Each Truckle features an intricate engraving of an F150 Ford F150 front end on the COVID plate. And then the usual, you know, four blue oval. Their little logo, their blue oval, strong, sitting proudly on a truck's license plate. Now, the number 1975 is on also every truckle as well, because 1975 was the year that Ford introduced the Ford F150. So it's the 50th anniversary. That's why they're doing this. It goes for 100, $200. That's not bad. I think it's $34 if you also want the belt. So if you just buy the buckle, it's 200 bucks. What a bargain. It hasn't deterred fans, that price tag. It has already sold out the first wave of them. They're going to make more. Anyway, it's called the Truckle. I'm teasing you here. I'm not showing you the actual Truckle because I want you to check it out. It's a lot of fun. Anyway, there you go. The Truckle. Okay, back to work. Got to get back to work here and stop with my wish list. Remember the magistrate in North Carolina who didn't pass the bar, by the way, who let the career criminal go before he killed Ukrainian refugee Irina Zarudska? It's Thursday, October 16th. Here are today's top stories. Democrats continue to try to look desperate and angry all about a shutdown of their own making. The latest stunt was a loud near riot outside of Speaker Mike Johnson's office. But here's something the Democrats really should get really upset about. This is Harry Entin. He's the polling guru over at CNN and he says their chance of winning the 2026 midterms are plummeting. Now the question is, will the Republicans do the work to keep the Congress? An independent investigation has uncovered shocking evidence about the North Carolina magistrate who freed the career criminal who murdered Ukrainian refugee irina Zyrutska. That's J.B. pritzker you're looking at. He's all in favor of freeing innocent people, too. Guilty people, too. You're not going to believe all the stuff that I have for you on this story from our guests who uncovered the information. American Sunrise EARLY EDITION continues. Now, that was my fault. I decided to throw in another picture of J.B. pritzker there because honestly, I mean, all joking aside, this guy is threatening federal agents, ICE agents who are just doing their job, trying to arrest dangerous illegal aliens. This isn't somebody who's just selling candy on the street, by the way. If they were doing that, we would have heard these stories already. The best they've got is, is Kilmer Abrego Garcia, who was probably a child human trafficker, and we know he was a wife beater. That's the best they got. If ICE were really arresting a bunch of innocent, pathetic, sympathetic people, we would have heard millions of their stories by now. Not so much. And J.B. pritzker literally wants to arrest ICE agents who were trying to protect the American people. Just incredible. So I'm not upset that we threw his picture up there again. But I have something really interesting for you here. I love it when ordinary Americans prove that they can be a lot better than the mainstream media when it comes to real journalism. So joining us right now from two separate locations this is High Tech today are Patrick McVeigh and Shannon Connor. They host an X spaces and a rumble stream called Jinxed Sip, and it's a website also called jinxsip.com and first, I want to remind the audience about the story that we're going to talk about here. This is the murder of Irina Zyrutska, the Ukrainian refugee. Everyone has seen the surveillance video who was on a commuter train in Charlotte, North Carolina. And the man behind her, a career criminal with massive number of arrests, was let free on the streets. And as this video will continue, and I'm going to show you, obviously, all the gruesome stuff, he ends up stabbing her to death. Now, Patrick and Shannon have found something about the magistrate. We know that it wasn't a full judge, but a magistrate judge who freed this guy. As you see, he's about to stab and kill this woman. He had many arrests, many violent arrests. Now, we learned that she probably didn't pass the bar. But Patrick and Shannon, you found out something else about this woman in the last few days. Tell us about that. Let's go to Shannon first. Ladies first.
Shannon Connor
Yeah. You know, we have, you know, we dug in and we found a lot of evidence that she actually does not live in North Carolina, which would make her completely ineligible to be a magistrate in Mecklenburg County. It's kind of wild stuff.
Jake Novak
Patrick, tell us the woman that we're talking about. Her name is Teresa Stokes, is that correct? And where does she live? Yes, is Teresa Stokes. And all evidence points towards her living in East Lansing, Michigan, not. All right, so Carolina at all. So what was some of the evidence? Either one of you can join in here. What was some of the evidence that you found? I mean, was it like mortgage stuff or what was some of the. What were some of the documents that you uncovered? Well, so we, I did a FOIA request for the qualified voter file for Michigan, and her and her wife are registered to vote in Michigan. Her wife updated her registration in 2024, which was a entire year after she was appointed in North Carolina as a magistrate. That's one of the big ones. And I think there's also some kind of residency as well, correct? I mean, you have, you even like, have the address. We're not going to let people know. I mean, we don't want to have people harass anyone. But there's also an address that. That's involved here, right, Shannon?
Shannon Connor
Yeah, yeah. So we were able to do just basic public information checks and we were able to confirm that their most recent address is in East Lansing, Michigan. Her wife actually had received a speeding ticket in the state of Virginia about six months after the appointment. And their address on that speeding ticket is their East Lansing, Michigan address in the state of North Carolina. They have, I believe it's 60 days after moving to the state to actually update their address.
Jake Novak
Incredible. Patrick, I want to ask you, were you surprised about how easy it was to find this information? And what do you think about the fact that there's been almost no further investigation of this by the mainstream media? I mean, not even like the local channels in North Carolina. You would think that this would be a hot story. Ever since you guys put this out on X, it's gotten a lot of traffic. I mean, if I'm a local news director in Charlotte or Raleigh or anywhere in North Carolina, I'm saying to my, you know, some reporter, hey, get me something on this person. Let's. And it doesn't seem like they did it. Does that surprise you that you guys were the first to find this all out? It was very surprising because there were even other people on X that dug into her. And I guess they didn't realize that everything pointed back to Michigan. Nothing pointed to North Carolina other than her wife was from North Carolina. That's the only thing that pointed to Carolina. Interesting. You know, Shannon, I want to ask you a bigger picture question. And, you know, again, this is going beyond just your investigation. Although I'm going to guess this played a little bit of a role in what maybe motivated you to go find this out. But it really does feel like there's a coordinated effort in the blue cities, even if they're blue cities in otherwise red states for major lenience on criminals. But I don't necessarily think it's necessarily to get their vote. They're not looking to release that guy who killed Irina Zaruska so he can go vote for the Democrats. I have a feeling he doesn't vote. I'm just gonna, I'm gonna go out on a limb there, but it feels like they're trying to create a cultural and an on the ground reality in some of these cities where maybe people feel like they are afraid that maybe they won't go outside, maybe they won't actually peek into what their politicians are doing. It's almost like they've got like kind of a thug army going on. It's a. It's a lot of Clockwork Orange stuff kind of going through my mind. I wonder if you see it the same way, Shannon.
Shannon Connor
You know, I really do. I myself, I live in a blue state. I'm in a deep, deep, deep blue county. So I feel like I am stick out like a sore thumb a little bit. But, you know, I see it a lot here as well that you have people that are doing things that are heinous and they're getting out on bail or they're just not getting the charges that they should be having. And it seems like they're really just trying to not have a judicial system where they are just letting everybody go free because they feel like it's inhumane to have them incarcerated. But it's not. It's for the safety of everybody else around them. And I think it's just something that eyes need to be on because it's not just Charlotte, North Carolina that this stuff is happening in.
Jake Novak
Have either of you, Patrick o', Shannon, seen the movie Demolition man where the so called peaceful leader of that society in the future deliberately lets out violent criminals every once in a while so that they can sort of reassert their power? Am I crazy? Have you seen that movie? It's with Wesley Snipes and Sylvester Stallone. But this is actually, this is something that at least some of our fiction authors kind of new is a little bit part of the political power structure. Obviously this kind of must have happened in ancient times. I don't know. Have you seen this film? And either one of you? Because that's really the plot there.
Shannon Connor
Yeah. I haven't, I'm sure my husband has, though.
Jake Novak
I have not. No. Okay. Well, I may have ruined the plot, although I don't think it's, it's that much of a spoiler alert. I do want to ask you, though, also about what you, what you think the response to this should be from, let's say, the more established political class. I think that, for example, the Republican Party and this is something that President Trump, President Trump had a lot of messages during his 2024 campaign. But one of the ones that I thought really resonated really well was when he basically said, look, this is the party of common sense. Now I'm the candidate of common sense. I don't know how you can lose this argument if you go before the American people and say, hey, you don't like this policy, that policy, that's one thing. But can't we all agree that someone with 16 or 17 violent arrests shouldn't be freed on the streets by someone who isn't even a resident of our state, who didn't pass the bar? And if you can't definitively say you're against that, then you shouldn't be running for any office. I mean, honestly, has anyone, I should ask you, has anyone approached you in North Carolina, any politician or group and said, hey, can we get more of your information? Can you help us push this out? Or am I the only one who's publicizing your work nationally right now? You would be the only one so far. Yes. Yeah, nobody has reached out. All right. Well, again, you know what, I would love for to listen, I love the title Exclusive Guys, but this is just too important. Seriously, if anyone is watching, those of you who are watching this clip, this needs to get out there, you know, And I also think one more question I want to ask you is whether you're seeing another thing that I'm seeing here. I think a lot of this has to do with dei. Now, this really makes me scratch my head a little bit because North Carolina has plenty of African American residents and there are a number of states, including red states, that basically have quotas. They want to have a certain number of minority people in particular positions, whether it's magistrate, judge or maybe at a state university and things like that. I have a feeling that they're so desperate to fill these quotas that they're okay with importing people from another state just to fill the quota. Even though, as I said, there's plenty of African Americans who are probably a 10 times more qualified than Teresa Stokes is for that job in North Carolina. But maybe they just wanted a Democrat or someone who would do what they told them because they have this to hold over their head. Hey, you don't do what I want. And we're going to let everyone know you're from Michigan and didn't pass the bar. I mean, I feel that that is also a narrative at play right here.
Shannon Connor
Shannon, I do think that you are possibly right. The, the judge, the clerk of Superior court that actually nominated Stokes to her position that she's in now, she has been a very vocal proponent of DEI all the way dating back to 2018. Just very vocal about it.
Jake Novak
All right. Patrick McVeigh and Shannon Connor, they are, you can find them on jinxed sip.com they have spaces. They do X spaces. They have a rumble show as well. Everyone check them out. Hey, if you're tired, if you're tired of thin and lifeless hair, tell me about it. It's a live look at people. Peaks Island, Maine. Some of you may be asking, why is it so much brighter there? Well, Maine juts out to the east. It's further east, so they get an earlier sunrise than the rest of us. I used to live in Maine for a short time. I was never at Peaks Island. That's a beautiful spot. That's a new. I like when we have these newer shots and we go all around the country. So thank you for that control room. And yes, just a few minutes on this program, I did reference and commit a spoiler on the movie Demolition man starring Wesley Snipes and Sylvester Stallone. But sometimes movies help us understand crazy things going on in our society. And believe it or not, that movie for some reason actually explains some of the things the Democrats are doing right now. So check it out. Welcome back to America's Sunrise Early Edition. I'm Jake Novak. I want you to check out CNN's Harry Entin. I see him at football games, by the way, on many weekends. Here he is going crazy about something other than football and you can tell why he's upset. Check it out. Okay, so you know, if you go back six months ago, you go back to April, Kate Baldwin. What were we looking at? Well, we were looking at the Democrats with a very clear shot of taking control of the US House of Representatives. According to the Cauchy Prediction Market odds, we saw them in an 83% chance, but those odds have gone plummeting down. Now we're talking about just a 63% chance while the GOP's chances up like a rocket, up like gold, up from 17% to now a 37% chance. So we'll look like a pretty clear Harry Entin. You know, he's, he's a Democrat and he admits that, but he, he's usually pretty truthful. I don't know how much longer he's going to last at CNN if he keeps telling the truth. David Brody tells the truth. He joins us right now. I'm surprised it's still at 63%. I mean, what the Democrats don't seem to understand in my opinion is how unpopular some of these positions are. If they just generically say we don't like Trump, then they do fine. But when they come out in favor of illegal aliens, when they start saying, oh, you shouldn't attack gunboat, drug gunboats and all that kind of stuff, I mean, these are incredible. And when they say they want boys in the girls locker room, don't they see how incredibly unpopular those positions are?
Irit Trat
Yeah.
Jake Novak
And they've learned nothing. They've learned Nothing from the 2024 election. Zero. They've doubled down. They tripled down. And as they continue to double and triple down, you see the numbers go down and down. You mentioned all of that. How about the, well, this has to do with illegal immig, but how about having margaritas with the Maryland dad air quote? You know, I mean, this is what they think their ticket to victory is going to be. Absolutely not. Do they not understand that going against Trump like this in such a vicious way didn't resonate the first time, it didn't resonate the second time, and it won't in the midterms as well. That's right. All right, I cut into your time with my talking about demolition band, but you got two hours coming up on the big show. I'll see you here on EARLY EDITION tomorrow.
This is an iHeart podcast.
