Ahead on American Sunrise Early Edition. They talked, but they didn't make a deal. Congressional leaders and President Trump batted some budget ideas around, but Democrats still won't let go of their demands for health care for illegal aliens. The government shutdown is set to begin at one minute after midnight tonight. While police and the FBI continue to investigate. Two mass shootings over the weekend. Call it the Jimmy Kimmel effect. The left pushes unproven narratives about the shooters being Trump supporters. It's now officially a trend. President Trump unveils his peace plan to end the war in Gaza. And this time it looks like Hamas biggest enablers, Qatar, will actually pressure the terror army to take the deal. Today is the big day for that. All hands, all admirals and generals on deck, meeting at Quantico, led by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, with President Trump sitting in. Is this the big deal the mainstream media is trying to make it out to be? With ominous tones. And today is your last day to buy a new electric vehicle and still get the $7,500 tax credit. What's that? You say you lost interest two years ago? Yeah, that's what the sales numbers have been telling us. American SUNRISE EARLY EDITION begins now.

Welcome to American Sunrise EARLY edition, the.

Show where faith, freedom and the values that built this nation take center stage. Your good deeds and bad deeds, that's how we're going to judge you. Join host Jake Novak as he breaks down the stories that matter. We will be letting the public know regularly what we have found. American Sunrise EARLY EDITION with your host Jake Novak starts now. Good morning. I'm Jake Novak. This is a Tuesday here in American Sunrise EARLY edition, and we are packed with a lot of news going on right now. And I urge you to stick with real America's voice and this program because the other channels are just going to try to do one or two stories for an entire hour. I don't know how they get away with that. That's not the way you do news. I got a lot of stuff packed into this hour, so let's get right into it. Joining me right now is Tablet magazine editor at large Lael Leibovitz. And, Lael, I want to talk about the thing that most bothers me first before we get to all the things that are, you know, clearly on a clock right now. And that is the fact that it's feeling more and more like a civil war in America. And of course, the situation in Portland is a flashpoint. It feels like Fort Sumter to me. You even have a Portland City council member, very reminiscent of Confederacy type stuff, telling US Troops and National Guardsmen and women not to report for duty if they're sent or deployed to Portland. I mean, that is a secessionist comment. That is an insurrectionist comment, and I'm sure he has a lot of support among his fellow politicians there. It's a violent situation, and there seems to be absolutely no remorse. Forget about the people perpetrating the violence, Lail, but the politicians, the governor of Oregon, the mayor of Portland, this city councilman, they seem to be all in favor of violence against the federal government. Help me. Help talk me off the cliff. Leo.
Lael Leibovitz
Well, look, I gladly will, because I think while the description is correct, there's one big difference. The Civil War, of course, was fought between Americans who held very different beliefs. This, as we could tell by an arrest of a gentleman who tried to attack an ICE facility and other federal troops yesterday with a laser pointer and of course, was found out to be an illegal alien. This is not a war between Americans. This is a conflict between Americans who want law and order restored and radical Democrats who want to import armies of illegal migrants to fight on behalf of their lunatic ideas. That's a very, very different order of magnitude. I think an overwhelming majority of Americans understand exactly what the freak is wrong with Portland and why we need President Trump to step right in, just as.
Jake Novak
He did in D.C. so you're saying this is like, and by the way, one of the great misnomers in world history is they call the 1976 Civil War in Lebanon a civil war. It wasn't a civil war. It was an invasion of foreign terrorists. So maybe this is similar to that. All right, that brings us to the Middle east because, and one of the bright spots, I think, of the last 24 hours, we had that White House event yesterday with President Trump and Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu unveiling the Trump peace plan for Gaza. And Netanyahu sure seems to like it. Check it out. Listen to this. I've said many times, you are the greatest friend that Israel has ever had in the White House. And Mr. President, you and I both know it's not even close. While you focus on at home and making America great again, your leadership abroad is changing the world for the better, ending wars and advancing peace. I believe that today we are taking a critical step towards both ending the war in Gaza and setting the stage for dramatically advancing peace in the Middle east. And I think beyond the Middle East. Lael, I've gone over this plan and I like the little parts of the plan, but I think the headline is it looks like Qatar is playing ball this time. We know that they've been coddling Hamas all this time. Now it looks like they're actually putting some pressure on Hamas to make this deal. That's why I'm optimistic this morning. Am I crazy?
Lael Leibovitz
You're not. Look, it's after 7 in the morning, so I could freely quote Winston Churchill and say that this deal is horrible except for all the other alternatives. I think President Trump, Netanyahu is correct. President Trump has shown immense, immense visionary leadership. He had a different idea in mind earlier on in the year. I think he genuinely wanted Israel to go ahead and clear Gaza of its inhabitants and really deal a blow to Hamas. But he also understands, as Israelis understand, as any person with a heart and a conscience understand, that we have hostages alive still sort of withering away in those tunnels in Gaza. And the number one priority for every civilized human being is to return their home. I think the deal does that. I think Qatar, as you said, understands very well that the president absolutely means business. We have seen in Iran and in Lebanon and in other corners of the Middle east what happens when you do not play ball with the president. So, yeah, I'm very hopeful that at the very least the families of the hostages would, God willing, have a chance to reunite with their loved ones very soon.
Jake Novak
All right, this is a story that got under the radar last week, but I really want to talk about it with you. A bunch of conservative students, white students, and I think they were students at an obviously at another school, but maybe they're students at another school, came to an HBCU historically black college or university at Tennessee State last week. They wanted to do a Charlie Kirk like debate. They set up a table and let me make it very, very clear, I think they were treated very unfairly by the administration at Tennessee State. And some of the students seemed to be willing to engage some warrant and there was some anger about it. We had some members of Congress really getting angry at Tennessee State. I don't want to at this point either indict or exonerate the Tennessee State folks at all for what they did with these particular kids. However, I think it proves a point that I've been trying to make for two years now that is this. If you have protesters on a campus and you don't want them there because you think it's going to disrupt your average daily life at a university. The administrations have every power and every opportunity just to stop it in its tracks. And I think this is a very embarrassing moment for all the Ivy League schools and everyone else like that who haven't been able to stop the anti Semitic, anti American riots is what they are on their campus, by the way, often led by People who are not students at this school or not students anymore. This is, this should tell you how to do it. And sure you'll get some negative publicity, but people have already stopped talking about Tennessee State. I just brought it back just to prove the point that these universities here in the Northeast mostly have really dropped the ball. If they wanted to stop it, they could. And Tennessee State proves that.
Lael Leibovitz
Jake, you're absolutely correct. Look, I'm fond of saying that there is no problem with American higher education that a little bit of light artillery doesn't solve. But I think this case in Tennessee State actually proved that the solution is much easier. All it takes are a bunch of responsible adults doing their job saying, no, I'm sorry, you are not permitted to do things that we do not permit on campus. This is a learning environment, not a place to stage some kind of political riot. Which again, not to say that this is what these, these students were doing, but it does show you. You're absol. Absolutely correct. How absolutely criminally negligent and beyond that, completely complicit in the pro Hamas, anti Semitic riots on campus. Columbia and Harvard and Princeton and all these places have been for years now.
Jake Novak
That's right. Very simple. All right. This is the number one question I get from my fellow conservatives. I'm sure you get it too. All and I had to bring you on because the two of us, I think, are the only people on the forefront of this issue. And that is the question that I often get. Hey, Jake, what the heck is going on with the Jewish vote? Why do they vote so liberal? And as you wrote and I talked about on this program in 2024, we absolutely saw a shift in the Jewish vote towards President Trump and the Republicans. Now if you look at Google and some of the other search engines, all you see are reports saying that Kamala Harris got 70% of the Jewish vote, which is absolutely 100% not true because as you pointed out, they conveniently left out the two largest Jewish populations in America in that survey, New York and California. What we know is different and of course, the swing counties in Pennsylvania really proved us right on that, that really we saw a shift towards President Trump.
Lael Leibovitz
You know, we're living through a version of, of this sort of hallucination right now. We have, as I'm sure you're aware and your, your viewers are aware too, we have a communist, a full blown commie running for mayor in New York City, Zoran Mamdani, a candidate born in Uganda who wants literal government control of, you know, supermarkets and housing and stuff like that. And of course, as you said, if you look at Google and if you read the New York Times, you would hear, oh, the Jewish vote goes strongly for Mamdani. Here is the truth. The truth is Zorn Mamdani in The primaries won 20% of Jewish Democratic primary voters, who in turn make up about 14% of the primary electorate. It's early in the morning, early for math. But this means that he wants something like, at best, 2.1% of the total Jewish vote in New York City. Now, let's look at the Jewish vote in New York City in 2024 in, for example, big Jewish neighborhoods, Midwood, 62% from Trump, up from 41% in 2020. Brighton beach, huge Russian Jewish population, 90% for Trump, up from low 60s in 2020. Crown Heights, where a lot of Hasidic Jews leave, 62% for Trump. Huge, huge, huge numbers. We could already tell just by looking at raw 2024 data that there is a very considerable shift for the Republican Party, for Trump, for conservative ideas among Jewish population, which become more and more and more pronounced the more observant and Jewishly involved the voter is.
Jake Novak
Yeah. And you know, and by the way, this election finally ended a trend that I've always pushed for a long time. I always say talking about the Jewish vote is like talking about Fight Club. There is no Jewish vote until 2024. I don't believe the Jewish vote ever swung a presidential election or ever had an impact on a presidential election. It's just too small. But because Pennsylvania swung to President Trump, and we know that in those swing counties of Pennsylvania, the Jewish vote swung towards him for the first time, at least in my lifetime, we saw an actual impact. So the timing was great. After all those years of not really mattering, it really mattered now. And hopefully there'll be something like that going on in the mayor's election in New York. Lael, we've already covered like four or five or six topics in the first few minutes of this program. We're way ahead of Fox and CNN already. Thank you so much for joining us. Happy New Year. And I hope to get you on back real soon.
Lael Leibovitz
My pleasure. Thank you.
Jake Novak
All right, coming up, I call it the Jimmy Kimmel effect. Someone attacks or kills Christians or typical American patriots. And now the left starts spreading rumors that the killer was a Trump supporter. That's what Kimmel did. And now that's the M.O. in the wake of two attacks over the weekend. I will explain and later, don't all rush out at once, but today is the last day for you to buy an EV and still get that big federal tax credit. But don't hold your breath, dealers. America's already moved on American Sunrise early edition hasn't. We're going to be right back.

That's a live look at the White House. And and coming up next hour, a little bit after 8am President Trump's going to be taking off from there to head to Quantico for that big all hands generals and admirals meeting with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth. We will show you that when he leaves the White House, you know, he always talks to the reporters a little before he gets on Marine One. So stay tuned to Real America's Voice for that. That'll be on the big show, the American Sunrise Show. Hey, everyone, I'm calling this the Jimmy Kimmel effect because frankly, he got away with it. Let's be honest. Jimmy Kimmel, after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, didn't make a joke. He wasn't making light of it. That was his phony apology. He decided that he was going to blame the people who were mourning the most over the death of Charlie Kirk for his death. Remember, he said that a Trump supporter did it. He never said that wasn't true, by the way, and he never apologized for that. Well, he got away with it. So now we're seeing that the left is deciding to pick up on this MO we had that shooting in Michigan over the weekend, the shooting and the ied, the truck ramming into a Mormon church. And the perpetrator, I'm not going to say his name was identified. There are some reports in foreign newspapers and websites that there may be a picture of him one time, nine years ago, eight years ago, seven years ago, wearing a Trump shirt. They're not sure. There's absolutely no evidence that this person was a strong Trump supporter. But even if there was, even if there were such evidence, it doesn't look like this attack was politically motivated in any way. He was attacking a church full of people who I think probably voted for Donald Trump. This was a Mormon church in suburban Flint, Michigan. I don't think there were a lot of Kamala Harris supporters there. All right, let's just say that then there was also a shooting actually the day before in North Carolina, a mass shooting at a restaurant there in a very red part of North Carolina. No evidence at all at all that this person was a Trump supporter. And of course, the victims of his shooting also most likely Trump voters. Again, we don't really know that either. There's no sign in either one of those cases that this was politically motivated, unlike the Charlie Kirk assassination where the shooter told us in many personal messages that he sent that that's exactly what it was. This is what I'm calling again the Charlie Kirk effect. The British newspaper, by the way, the Telegraph that decided to call the shooter and the attacker in the Mormon church attack a Trump supporter. Put it in quotes, which is a smarmy thing that newspapers and websites do because one person says it, but they put it in a headline as if it's fact. Got a lot of texts yesterday from liberal friends saying how do you feel now about the fact that that was a Trump supporter? Again, no solid evidence of that. But even if there were, this person wasn't doing this on behalf of President Trump or the Trump or the MAGA movement. I mean, who knows what the motivation was. They're saying now Caroline Levitt, the White House spokes press secretary, saying that person had some kind of long term hatred of Mormon people. I don't know where that came from. But anyway, this had nothing to do with politics. It certainly doesn't. We have no evidence of that and we have no evidence that this was a politically motivated shooting. Same thing with the thing in North Carolina. But because Jimmy Kimmel, I believe, very much got away with this whole clouding of the issue, deciding to make the people who are most aggrieved into the actual perpetrators and create this set of double. I wouldn't even say rubbing salt in the wound. It's hurting someone twice. Imagine going to someone at a wake or a funeral and saying, why did you kill your loved one? I mean, that's really what Jimmy Kimmel did. And he gave a big encouragement to everyone else online who wants to try the same nonsense. Don't go for it, folks. It's really quite harrowing and I just don't understand how people think they can get away with this. The Telegraph just putting a quote around a headline saying was a Trump supporter. Based on what? Someone saw a picture of him wearing a Trump shirt. Okay, maybe he was. But honestly, this is someone who clearly was having some serious personal issues and politics played no role, no evidence at all in that shooting. And I'll be happy to say when someone else commits a crime and it looks like it's someone doing it against Trump and it turns out it has nothing to do with politics, I'll be happy to acknowledge that. I don't go around saying this was an anti Trump or a pro Democrat shooter until we have evidence of that. There is no evidence in these cases. Simply put. All right folks, that is something everyone needs to remember, okay? If you're stressed about back taxes, maybe you missed the April deadline or your books are a mess. That's a live look at Baltimore, Maryland's Inner harbor, one of my former homes. I've lived all over this country, which is why I think I'm not a crazed leftist. When you live in parts other than New York or D.C. you actually get to learn about the country. Baltimore is not that far from D.C. i realize, but I also lived in the South. Anyway, tough times in Baltimore right now. They were looking at a Super bowl fast track to the super bowl and now Lamar Jackson's hurt. But don't count them out. Let's see what happens. I don't think he's that badly here. Let's take a look where the markets will begin today. We got red arrows at nothing too serious there. Nothing more than a quarter of a percent drop there. That's the biggest one, the Dow. But it's going to be a winning September, by the way, for the markets and because, because we're already up for the month and it's we, we would need to be down like a thousand points for us to be down for the month today. September is almost always the worst month of the year for the market. So for the stock market to post a positive September is a big deal. So I want everyone to pay attention to that. All right. Hey, this is it. There is this is your something I need to tell you about. I want everyone to hold on to your, hold on to your pearls, everyone. If there's a government shutdown after midnight tonight and it's still going on as of Thursday night or Friday morning. There is not going to be a September jobs report released to Wall street and the rest of the world on Friday morning. I know. Oh, no. As you know, I'm not a huge fan of government produced economic data. Even if it isn't partisan and changed for partisan reasons, it's wholly inaccurate. And everybody who really understands data knows that Wall street moves on that news because they're literally betting on a number and betting on how other people with money are going to react to it. You might as well just bet on a dice roll. In fact, if we're still having a government shutdown and there is no jobs report, I volunteer to roll a pair of dice for everyone on Wall street. And you all can bet on that number because that's just as accurate as basically as looking at the jobs report. I would welcome a no jobs report Friday because those numbers are wholly inaccurate. And that's even before someone tries to play a political game with them. I don't have solid evidence of that, but that's irrelevant because I'm telling you the numbers aren't really that great and that reliable. Anyway, politics aside, okay, the NFL has chosen a highly anti Trump, anti ice, anti American rapper and singer to front the halftime show at this coming Super Bowl. His name is Bad Bunny. He's a Puerto Rican guy. He's very anti Trump. He did not make any mainland US Tour stops in his worldwide tour that he's doing right now because he said some of his supporters coming to the concerts might get picked up by ice. So he didn't even want to make a concert here in the United States. But the NFL has decided to give him basically the most important concert venue of the year that everyone watches the super bowl halftime show. I keep telling everyone, the NFL knows you're addicted to their product. Some of the viewers watching the show, maybe you did really walk away from the NFL. You know that if you did, you're in a very small minority. And so the NFL acts like you're addicted to their product because most of America, the overwhelming amount of America really is. That's what's going on here. We'll see if there's any uproar about this. If you take a look at the websites, the news websites, they're all talking about how MAGA is freaking out about Bad Bunny. I'm not freaking out. I'm just talking about how this is really not a very nice thing for millions of Americans who support the President and support Borders and they're choosing Someone who has really trashed the president and the country. I'm not going crazy about it. I'm just stating a fact here. And the fact is of course that the NFL knows you're addicted. Okay? Plant based food company Beyond Meat, remember them? They appear to be beyond help. The company has been posting weaker and weaker sales over the last few years and now it's taking on more debt to try to stay afloat. The result is the stock hit an all time low of $1.23 a share. A buck 23 a share. Hey, you could have bought it six years ago for $240 a share. Actually, five years ago you could have bought it for that. Now every so called news show in America five years ago and four years ago was going crazy about Beyond Meat, about how great it was. It was free ads. As soon as people tried the product they were like, meh, not really. I don't like it. Imagine buying that stock five years ago for 240 bucks a share and looking in on your on your phone this morning and seeing it's at a buck and change. My goodness. That federal tax credit of $7,500 if you buy an electric vehicle, electric truck, SUV, electric car. I just want everyone to be prepared for something because this is a narrative that's going to be dominating a lot of mainstream news media for the next few weeks, maybe even for the rest of the year. And that is, they're going to say that Donald Trump and the Republicans killed electric vehicles. They were doing so well. But when they got rid of that tax credit, they fell off a cliff. That will be a lie. Electric vehicle sales have been slowing for some time now, more than a year. They've been growing, but just slightly. In other words, their growth a few years ago was going at 20 or 30% more for the year before. Basically they flattened out a couple of years ago, well before the big beautiful bill got rid of the EV tax credit, all the major automakers all over the world were cutting back, cutting back on their EV production. That includes the Detroit automakers, that. That includes the European automakers. They're still making EVs, but it looks like it's going to max out under 10% of the overall market. I know it doesn't feel that way because every single darn commercial for a car seems to be about an EV these days. It's driving me nuts. I hope it ends. It's about 10% of the market. Good luck to you. If you have one for some people, it makes a lot of sense to get one. That's great for you. But honestly, they're going to blame this on President Trump, they're going to blame this on the Republicans. And the fact is, the American public has had it with the EVs. That is all. It's going to get between 7 and 10% of the market. It's got nothing to do with the tax credit killing off the demand. All right, this just in Moving America includes trains. So I want to talk about a train company just for a second. The now former CEO of cxx. That's a huge train company, railroad company, had what I consider to be the most embarrassing moment a CEO can have on when it comes to the stock market. This happens every once in a while. Just before yesterday's open bell, rail giant CSX announced it had replaced CEO Joe Henriks, who, by the way, came over from Ford. And what was the reaction in the stock market to getting rid of the CEO? CSX stock shot up by 5%. That's embarrassing. When they replace CS CEO and the stock goes up, you need to do some soul searching. All right. Hendricks isn't the only one leaving the C suite right now. Stellantis, their cfo, chief financial officer, his name is Doug Osterman, is out as Chrysler Jeep Dodge. As the Chrysler Jeep Dodge owner continues to rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic, that's what I call it. Stellantis has bigger problems than who the CFO is, but there you go, they're giving it a shot. Now, this is actually a bit of a shocker. Industry insiders thought that the new CEO of Stellantis, Antonio Filoso, was keen on keeping Osterman around, but that didn't happen. Stellantis is always a very shaky company, as you know. Really, their only big seller here in America is the Jeep brand. I don't really know how you're going to keep it afloat with Chrysler and Dodge struggling all the time, but this has been a problem for 40 years. Hey, for some people, heaven is a place where Everyone owns a Porsche. Well, maybe heaven is Andorra. You know what Andorra is? Andorra is a small principality. It's nestled in the Pyrenees between France and Spain. Only 82,000 people live there. But last year, Porsche sold 83 new Porsches in that country alone. So that's one Porsche for about every thousand people. That would be like millions of Porsches, by the way, if they did that here in this country. There's something about Andorra. Obviously they have a lot of money there. It's called a principality for a reason. But that sounds like a nice place to live where almost everyone has one. Okay, coming up, we're just about 16 hours away from a government shutdown. Can it be avoided? And will the Democrats be the one paying a bigger price this time than they realize? That's next when American Sunrise Early Edition returns.

It's Tuesday, September 30th. Here are this morning's top stories. They talked, but they didn't make a deal. Congressional leaders and President Trump batted some budget ideas around, but Democrats still won't let go of their demands for health care for illegal aliens. What the government shutdown is set to begin at one minute after midnight. Tonight, President Trump unveils his peace plan to end the war in Gaza. And this time it looks like Hamas biggest enablers Qatar will actually pressure the terrorists army to take the deal. Encouraging news. Hey, today's the big day for that. All hands, all admirals and generals on deck, meeting at Quantico led by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth with President Trump sitting in. Is this the big deal the mainstream media is trying to make it out to be and trying to scare us? Well, we shall see. And today is your last day to buy a new electric vehicle and still get the $7,500 tax credit from the federal government. What's that you say you lost interest in EVs a couple of years ago? Yeah, so did the rest of America. But I am not losing interest in you. American Sunrise Early Edition continues now. Welcome back to American Sunrise Early Edition. It is a Tuesday special. Welcome to those of you on the Getter and the Rumble chats on X and substack, all of you watching live and commenting because you know, you actually. I actually read that stuff again, passive news watching. I just don't know why that is even something the other channels out there think people want to do anymore. I challenge any other big network, any channel to tell me that their anchors and their other people are actually reading what the viewers are saying in real time. I don't think anyone else does that. Thank goodness we allow that here because frankly, sometimes you guys correct me on mistakes. So it's a good moment in humility for me. And humility always leads to great success after you Go through it. Joining me right now is someone who doesn't need to be humble too often, Tyler o'. Neill. He is a senior editor at the Daily Signal, also the author of Woke the Puss. Hey, Tyler, we're officially on Shutdown Countdown right now. Oh, no. All right, listen. Most of the other conservative channels are gonna talk about how a shutdown won't be so bad. But you know what? I think it really will be bad for the Democrats for a couple of reasons. One is the reason that they want to shut down the government is to continue giving free health care to illegal immigrants. That's gonna come out. I think the American people will eventually hear that. And second, the Trump administration is gonna take a shutdown as an opportunity to see who really isn't essential anymore in the government and make more firings. I think they're playing a game of chicken with one of their brake discs broken. This is a mistake, I think.
Tyler O'Neill
Yeah, I think it is a mistake. And if you look at the way shutdowns have worked in the past, you know, President Obama, I remember in 2013 when you had the government sh. And this was like. It was treated like an entirely new thing, like Republicans were entirely to blame. And then you had Obama going through doing all these showy things with the shutdown. So, for instance, you didn't need to actually have the national parks shut down and, like, make a show of it. Instead of just having people not show up to work, Obama did this thing where he had every national park, like, roped off and have these things where there was you was more work to have your staffers go in and rope a national park off than it was if they just didn't show up to work. And so I think Obama was showing the American people that the president can, if the president so desires. You know, when you're deciding what is essential and what isn't essential, you can do petty things like Obama did, but also you can do structural things like President Trump wants to do. I thought it was brilliant when he came out and said, look, if you Democrats, you want to push a shutdown over these. This extra spending on healthcare, that was only supposed to be a pandemic thing, but got kept getting kicked down the road and extended these Obamacare subsidies. Well, if you really want to do that, then I'm going to take the opportunity and unleash Doge 2.0, because all these same Democrats, they've been marching in lockstep and solidarity. Federal employees acting as though it's the end of the world that President Trump wants to make our government more accountable. All right, well, if they're going to shut down the government over these Obamacare subsidies, what Trump is going to do is come in and say, all right, we have this opportunity to say who is and isn't essential in the federal government. And rather than just having people furloughed for a time, we're going to actually fire people, because this is an opportunity to slim down the size and scope of the federal government.
Jake Novak
Yeah, you talk about the pageantry of the Obama administration in 2013. They literally put a makeshift fence around the Washington Monument, so it was a little harder for people to take pictures of it. It was closed, but they wanted to make sure that no one got a nice picture. I mean, it was just. This is exactly. It's such a show. But again, I think that's what everyone else is going to talk about. I love that you also made that second point. They really could end up losing more jobs over this. And if I'm a federal employee who's worried about losing his or her job, I would really like the shutdown not to happen, because the Trump administration is going to play for keeps here. This isn't your usual shutdown where they shut it down and then the federal workers get their back pay anyway, so they end up getting a paid vacation out of it. That's not going to happen this time. And the Democrats are playing a very foolish game of chicken. Tyler. You know, it says something that President Trump had more progress yesterday on Middle east peace than he did on avoiding a government shutdown. Because I have to tell you in all seriousness, I've looked through the Trump peace plan for Gaza. I've looked at the reality, the real hard reality here, that it looks like Qatar, which has been coddling Hamas all along, is changing its tone and is looking at really forcing them maybe to take this deal. I have to say, I'll take 10 government shutdowns any day of the week if you're going to get a peace situation going on in the Middle east with what seems to be a very small investment from the Trump administration. They put a lot of hours into it, but I don't see any money here. I don't see any troops. This looks good to me. How about you?
Tyler O'Neill
Yeah, well, I think the big investment that the Trump administration already made for Middle east peace was dropping the bombs on Iran. And, of course, this is quintessential Trump style, where he comes in, drops the bombs, does something that, as Trump said, no other country can do, and then gets the heck out of Dodge and says, look, we don't want a lasting war. We just want to achieve. It's like when Theodore Roosevelt says, speak softly and carry a big stick. I think that encapsulates Trump's policy here on foreign. On foreign steps, because when you. Whenever Trump has an opportunity to make a big bang for the American buck, he will come in and achieve something monumental with as little resources of the US Spent as possible. And that's the key difference between the old foreign policy, as usual, and the Trump administration. And really the first Trump administration, he did this, too, with the Abraham Accords, with dropping the moab. What President Trump will do is find the way to show American force to scare people into what's called deterrence, preventing our bad guys from continuing to engage in violence against us or against our allies, and then immediately seeking peace, because his goal here is, isn't to get us into these endless wars. It's to make one powerful statement or one powerful move and kit and move the policy toward a lasting peace that is good for the American people.
Jake Novak
Well, we've got maybe war solved overseas, at least for now. But I got to tell you, Tyler, I'm concerned about Portland, and I've been saying this on this program for a few days now. It really feels like it's a new Fort Sumter in America where you have not only violence and coordinated violence against federal agents, ICE agents, federal facilities, and things like that, but most disturbingly, you have the governor of Oregon, the mayor of Portland, and now a city councilor, city councilman in Portland all saying things like, we don't need any help, or in the case of the city councilman, telling active duty troops, hey, if you get deployed to Portland, dessert, don't show up. Basically asking them to rebel and go awol, which, by the way, it can get you thrown in Leavenworth for your rest of your life. Thanks, that's. That's great advice. Thanks a lot, dude. I mean this to me. I don't want to be too negative about this, but when you see what's going on there, it feels like the left has basically decided to let criminals out of prison, bring in illegal aliens, and that's their army. Who needs the army of Manassas? Who needs the army of Virginia? Just go and use these foreigners and Korea criminals and get them to attack federal agents. To me, this is a really disturbing trend.
Tyler O'Neill
Well, and we see, you know, the Trump administration is wanting to investigate the money behind Antifa. Why do these riots continue to happen? Why do these people continue to seem to have Shields, Molotov cocktails, fireworks that they're sending, that they're using against these federal buildings. And I mean, if we remember the summer of 2020, where every night you had these violent riots against the federal buildings in Portland and this, this sort of, this sort of violence, this sort of instability is not what we stand for in America. And I think President Trump is trying to send that message loud and clear. And unfortunately, the Democrats are so wedded to their woke ideology and so wedded to denying the idea that there is any violence. I mean, I've been covering the Southern Poverty Law Center. They've been carrying water for antifa. They put moms and dads who want to run for school board legally on a hate map with chapters of the Klan calling them anti government extremist groups. Meanwhile, they don't have a single antifa chapter on their hate map. They're not considered anti government if you're throwing Molotov cocktails at federal buildings. And there was an SPLC attorney actually arrested and charged with domestic terrorism for one of these riots. So there is an infrastructure on the left that is working with antifa and we need to figure out who it is. And the Trump administration is bringing, is pulling out the stops now in a way that I think they should have done in 2020, but better late than never. And we're now seeing a federal response that is muscular, that hopefully will investigate and get to the bottom of this threat. But the more Democrats continue to hitch their wagons to this movement of violence and rioting and say there is nothing there, there, the American people see through this. And I think it's very important. You know, President Trump is way above water when it comes to crime. He's just going to continue to improve with the American people as he shows his willingness to crack down on crime and, and make our cities safer.
Jake Novak
This looks like the beginning of that shift that Carl von Clausewitz so astutely described is that war is politics by other means. It feels like we're moving from politics into actual war here, where making rhetorical points and making points about hypocrisy and stuff like that become less important. You're talking about warring parties here. There's no rules anymore. And that's where I feel like we're going. I hope not. Hey, I only have about 20 seconds left, but what's your speculation about the big admirals and generals meeting at Quantico today? What do you think that's about?
Tyler O'Neill
Well, there have been, there has been talk that it might be about getting these generals moving away from the woke weaponization that they'd used their positions to push in the past. But we have to see, I mean this is, this is a close kept secret and President Trump is, you know, Pete Hagseth is bringing in these forces from around the world. It is definitely a serious thing and we will be following it, covering it like white on rice as our Virginia Allen has done at the Daily Signal.
Jake Novak
Sounds good. I also want to know what they're serving because seriously, I don't like going to meetings without decent refreshments. All right, Tyler o' Neill from the Daily Signal, thank you so much for joining us.
Tyler O'Neill
Thanks for having me.

Welcome back to American Sunrise early edition. It's a Tuesday special. Welcome to all of you on the getter and the rumble chats on X commenting substack, all that stuff. Thank you so much. Hey, everybody. Mikey Sherrill, she's the Democrat nominee for governor in New Jersey and she's having a bad month. I'm sure she's going to be one of the happiest people that September is ending tonight because she, first of all, her lead in the polls has completely evaporated. One of the more respected polls has it as a tie between her and the Republican Jack Cittarelli. But worse than that, she's had a bunch of scandals come out in recent days. First off, now we know that she was involved in that very famous, for those of you with long memories, that very famous cheating scandal at the U.S. naval Academy in 1994. We don't know yet because she won't tell us exactly what her involvement was. But it was bad enough that she was not allowed to participate in graduation. Her name wasn't on the program. She wasn't allowed to march with her classmates. That's a very big deal. But here's something else that I think really gets to the heart of something that really bothers me and the rest of us in America about the political class. And there are Republicans who are guilty of this, too. But let's focus on Mikey Sheryl here just for a second. People get elected to office, either elected office or there are bureaucrats who are appointed and they start. Not only do they not act in a way that it's above the law, but they basically demand that they be treated below the law, basically not having to deal with any kind of the scrutiny that the rest of us do. And this came out a couple of days ago that two of the five people that Mikey Sherrill as a congressman, was allowed to nominate for the service academies, which is a very big deal, incredibly coveted. Harder to get into than Harvard to get that kind of nomination. She gave two of them to her own twin children. Now, I'm sure there's a little bit of this going on here and there. Maybe they get another congressperson or a senator to do it when a member of Congress wants their child in there. But I have never heard David Brody of a sitting member of Congress giving 40% of the nominations that they have in a given year to their own kids. And by the way, they did it in a sneaky way. They used the husband's last name. This really stinks to me. And I think, and I know a lot of people from who went to the service academies who are angry about this. Yeah.
David Brody
And it doesn't feel like a one off here.
Jake Novak
Right.
David Brody
I mean, this feels like a pattern going back to the 90s. And I think that's part of the problem. The other part of the problem here, Jake, for Mikey, Cheryl specifically says she's talked big time about transparency. She wants government transparency. Well, hey, okay, if you're going to go down that route and then you've got this going on, scandal after scandal, that speaks to hypocrisy and, and this is a big problem for her. So, you know, New Jersey was always kind of, you know, about New Jersey and how, you know, Phil Murphy had some problems, you know, at one point back in the day. And it just seems like there was, there's been something going on in New Jersey ever since Trump came onto the scene. So the polls, obviously you show their tightening. I see other polls that show are still up. But you know, what is there about a month, month or change to go? So there's plenty of time here for Citarelli to, to come back and, and win this thing. And I say come back, it might not be as big of a comeback as a lot of people think. So. So I think that's a big part of the problem. But look, I mean, ultimately, you know, what are you going to do? I mean, you know, I, I think that she's in, in a lot of trouble and I think she knows it. Oh, and now let me just one last point to make. You've got Democrat leaders, specifically union leaders, black groups, African American groups specifically coming out now saying we've got major concerns about her. So look, that is not what she needs, starting with October 1st being tomorrow.
Jake Novak
Yeah. And you know, not only has she talked about transparency a lot, David, but she constantly talks about how she was a Navy chopper pilot all the time. In fact, she talks about it at times when it's not germane. I saw a young person ask her at some town hall, what are you gonna do about inflation? And she said like, you know, I was a chopper pilot for the Navy. And this was like, it's two plus two, four. I was a chopper pilot. Mikey, your hair is on fire. I was a chopper. I mean, that's all she ever talks about. And so she's gonna put Navy front and center all the time. Then she's gonna. She should have had more of her ducks in a row about this. Again, political consultants are all bad at what they do. You know who you are. You're all terrible just because you have a 5050 record in a split country. That's nothing to be proud of. Whoever told her to go crazy full on about the Navy stuff and not just leave it as part of the campaign and not the whole thing should be fired. They won't be, but they should be fired. She put this out there, David, and it's fair game.
David Brody
It's fair game. And let's be honest, she is the establishment candidate, if you will. And right now, establishment is not working. Hasn't worked for a very long time, Jake.
Jake Novak
Well, you've got a big show, I tell you, I think I got like 20 stories in this morning and I still feel like I left some stuff out. You have a big show coming up. The next two hours on america's Sunrise, beginning with hopefully. We're going to hopefully see President Trump on his way to that meeting at Quantico. So you're going to be busy over there.
