Ahead on this first Friday of 2026 edition of American Sunrise. The confetti, it's gone. The fireworks are over. The hangover, well, that's passed. And millions of Americans are on the move. Airports are packed. Highways are jammed. Families heading home after the holidays, shifting from celebration back to real life. Womp, womp, We've got the issues you'll need to keep your eyes and your ears out in the new year. And it's not just America's travel plans that are resetting. Politics and media, they're doing the same. Old narratives losing steam. And new fault lines are emerging. We're going to break down who's adapting and who's already falling behind. And later, the swamp monsters are on notice as we head into the new year. The Clintons, Soros, Brennan, oh, my. They've lived comfortably for decades. But 2026 might be the year that the drain starts working. Those stories and more as American Sunrise starts. Hello, Hillary. Right now. Good morning, America.
Dr. Gina
Welcome to American Sunrise. Whether it's culture, we have breaking news to share with you.
Brian Glenn
Politics.
David Brody
President Trump is joining us live now from Florida.
Brian Glenn
We've got you covered.
David Brody
This is what it looks like to be a patri.
Brian Glenn
We have to protect the American family.
Dr. Gina
The American dream is still alive.
David Brody
I'm David Brody.
Brian Glenn
I'm terrence.
Dr. Gina
And I'm Dr. Gina. Good morning. I'm Dr. Gina. We are live with you from the Palm Beaches along with Emily Finn and David Brody. David's out in Washington, D.C. happy Freedom Friday. Happy puppy Friday. Happy freedom First Friday of that's a lot of Fridays. 2026. I keep thinking about, you know, how like you end up in the hospital. You always see the questions, you know, they always say, do you know what year it is? And I'm losing track. I'm just being honest. I'm losing track.
Emily Finn
I'm so with you, Gina. 2026 doesn't even feel real.
David Brody
No, no, no. And I, you know, but it's gonna get real very soon. Cuz we got a lot to talk about. We got the new year. Obviously, there's gonna be a new tone. Is there gonna New Year? I don't know. It depends. I mean, Trump's tone is gonna be focused, obviously on all things. Just getting things done every single day. That's what he does. Got the midterms, Gina, coming up, you got the MAGA unity. I mean, how are we on MAGA unity right now? Is that gonna be a problem? And there's a lot of things to talk about. What do you think, Gina? I don't know. We got a lot to discuss.
Dr. Gina
Yeah, well, it all depends on, as Steve Bannon would say, action, action, action. I think at this point, it depends on what happens and where the leadership goes in terms of maga, in terms of America first, in terms of wars, regime changes, all the economy. There's so much David and Emily, it'll just be, it promises to be a big news year.
Emily Finn
Yeah, absolutely. That MAGA unity, I think, is going to be really important. I know that we saw at America Fest, there was Turning Point USA's event there in Arizona. There was a lot of differing opinions, for sure. So hopefully we can get to some unity throughout this year. David?
David Brody
Well, the only thing that is certain is God's word, Gina. And that's the transition of all transitions to the Bible verse.
Curtis Hauck
There you go.
Dr. Gina
Wow, look at that.
David Brody
Thank you very much. I get paid extra for it.
Sam Sorbo
I get paid extra for the day.
Dr. Gina
You've been doing this a decade or so. That's amazing. Today's Bible verse, as David Brody announced, is from Psalms chapter 105. Four, seek the Lord in his strength, Seek his face ever more. With the new year now underway, all roads lead back to one place, the Trump White House. The opening moves of the administration are setting the direction for the year ahead. Joining us now with the latest is Rav chief White House correspondent Brian Glenn. Brian. Well, President Trump really never stopped working over the holidays. But what are we watching for from the White House at this moment as we we've been talking about the midterms a lot, but look, they are right around the corner. It seems like, it seems like they're closer now. Brian.
Brian Glenn
Yeah, and you've even got, by the way, happy New Year.
Dr. Gina
Happy New Year.
Brian Glenn
Had a great night. You know, when you look at some of these primaries that are also coming up in some of these states, special elections happening, Georgia 14, one of them. There's a few others around the country. So when you think about early voting in some of these 20, 26 midterms, they can start as early as Fe in March. So I think the campaign strategy is going to be kicked off relatively early this year, being that these midterms are so important now, the messaging from the White House, if you remember about, about a week ago, President Trump meeting with Zelensky and Benjamin Netanyahu. So foreign policy is definitely on the forefront as we go into 2026. But I think you're really going to see a focus on the midterms and the messaging. Housing being one of them, affordability for hous, one of them. Domestic things like energy costs, production, things like that will be the focus from the White House. But we still have, Dave, we've talked about this before, a lot of foreign policy issues going on right now. Will that dominate the news cycle in 2026, going up in the midterms? We'll see.
Emily Finn
Yeah, we certainly will see. Brian, you know, how aggressively do you expect President Trump to campaign this year? I know Susie Wiles, chief of staff, in a recent interview, she had mentioned, you know, she said, I haven't even told him yet, but he's going to be on the campaign trail. You mentioned the midterms are going to be a big focus. How aggressive do you think the president is going to be?
Brian Glenn
I think he's going to be very aggressive. We saw that in Pennsylvania, we saw that in North Carolina just before year's end. And I think that's a strategy that President Trump knows works. You know, when President Trump gets in front of the public, when he goes out and does these mini rallies, he goes off to a pizza shop, a coffee shop, somewhere like that, a manufacturing plant that tends to have a lot of weight on the American people. They love when Trump gets out of the White House and visits them. He's very charismatic. He's certainly a great messenger on these issues. So I do think we're going to see President Trump hitting the road. Don't want to say like February or March, but I think it's going to be sooner than later in this campaign cycle as he continues to remind people that the economy is improving, their life is getting better. The affordability factor is now coming into play. Where we can afford things. Gas across the country, many places under $2, well under $2. 1 89, 190 in some places. So I think Americans are starting to feel the effects of the Trump policy. So why not go out and tell people about it? So I think you're going to see that sooner and later, Emily.
David Brody
You know what's interesting here, Brian, is that normally a president in the midterm elections, since he's not on the ballot, they don't go around and campaign that he is on the ballot. You know, he's campaigning for others. But Susie Wiles also said in that interview that Emily cited that President Trump is going to be on the ballot. They are gonna use the words he's on the ballot, even though he's not, but he is. And that's interesting. It's an interesting strategy. And the reason they're doing that is for a lot of reasons. But one thing I can just see Trump saying now is like, look, if the Democrats take control of the midterms, they're going to impeach your favorite President Trump. I can just see him doing that because that's the truth. So, in a way, he is on the ballot.
Brian Glenn
You're right, David. He is on the ballot indirectly. And. And they've even said, I remember Jamie Raskin saying almost from day one, when President Trump got sworn into office, that he was going to lead the impeachment of President Trump. This is on day one of his administration the second time. So you're absolutely right. And not only that, think about this for a second. If Democrats take control of Congress, they will control all the committees, so oversight, all of them. So if you don't think they're going to launch every investigation six ways to Sunday on President Trump, his family, any type of business dealings that he's ever had in his entire life, it's going to happen under Democrat control. So, yes, President Trump is on the ballot coming up in the midterms. And you know what? He's also on the ballot in 2020, when, if you want to kick it out, kick the ball out that far because it's the same situation. We'll just be redoing this every two years. So these next couple elections, David, are one of the most important elections of our lifetime. I know people love to say that year after year, but I truly think it is, because, remember, a lot of these executive orders that President Trump has put in place are not codified into law through Congress. So that's another thing that Speaker Johnson needs to get ahold of is get these things into law so that Democrats can't flip the switch.
David Brody
Great point.
Curtis Hauck
Yeah.
Dr. Gina
You know, I think each election is more important than the last because the stakes get higher and higher for a republic, because the longevity of such a republic is so rare and so fragile and becomes only more so as it ages. Brian, one of the interesting things is some of the backlash, some of the division among Maga America First. You've had a front row seat to that in more ways than one. And I'm just wondering, do you think there will be any changes in the Trump administration as we go into this 20, 26 and into these midterms?
Brian Glenn
That's a great question. And I have had a front row seat to this. Unfortunately, I've got to see all this play out. I hope that the message is this to the base. We disagree on a few issues. We don't all have to agree on one particular issue. We can have different opinions, but we collectively agree that being a Republican and having America First, Trump, American first policies are what best for this country. But when you have influencers online that continue to vilify people within our party, I think that's bad. To be honest with you. I don't think that's good. It creates division. So I'd like for the administration and maybe all the, all the comms coming out of the White House to embrace all of maga, even if you differ on a couple of issues, we must collectively, because we said this before, Dr. Gina, there's a lot of independents that voted with MAGA. And if independent voters feel like they were left out and for whatever reason MAGA didn't fully embrace them, or maybe they didn't get what they were promised, then they're not going to vote. So we need to bring the independent voters back into our party if the ones that we lost and not only promise, we need to deliver. And like you said earlier, Dr. Gina, action, action. Action Talk is cheap. People want action. They want to see things happen in their lives. So I'm hoping that this administration can, we can throw out the olive branch to some of these people that we might have alienated, get it back in the party and let's win this election.
Dr. Gina
Yeah, absolutely. Brian, do you think we will?
Brian Glenn
That's a good question. I'd like to just for happy talk, say yeah, but I don't, I don't know. I don't know. People are very scarred right now. The independence. I feel like they have not gotten what they voted for.
Dr. Gina
Yeah. And I think, I think there's some real concerns in maga. I think that I hear things that I've just never heard from people I never thought I would hear it from.
Brian Glenn
I know.
Dr. Gina
Deep concerns as we go forward. Yes, you do know.
Armin Kurdian
I know.
Brian Glenn
I know. If you would have told me a year ago that Marjorie Taylor Greene would no longer be in Congress and our focus would be on all this other stuff. We don't know what are you talking about? This is crazy talk. But I pray for this country. I pray for everyone watching. Thank you to everyone behind the camera that makes this show go possible. We have amazing team and amazing family. Love you guys.
Dr. Gina
Love you back. Brian, thanks for being with us. Happy New Year.
Brian Glenn
Thank you.
Dr. Gina
All right. Coming up, we're going to check out the latest headlines from the RAP newsroom. Also later, sticking to resolutions. Can we do it? That's the question, right? We're going to discuss that so much more as American Sunrise continues this new year right after the break.
Armin Kurdian
Foreign.
Brian Glenn
This news break is brought to you by AMAC, association of Mature American Citizens.
David Brody
Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It was gorgeous in January of 2025. It's gorgeous in January of 2026. Welcome, welcome back, everybody, to American Sunrise. And welcome back to the new year. Coming up, Ukraine, Gaza, Venezuela, America standing strong on the world stage as international chaos continues. We're going to dig in to what hotspots deserve our attention in the coming year. First, though, Emily Finn standing by with the latest headline. She's in for T. Bates. And she's in the real America's Voice newsroom in West Palm.
Brian Glenn

Our top stories this morning. Millions of Americans are heading home after New Year celebrations. Across the country, airports, highways and train stations are busy with families returning from vacations, visiting relatives or spending time with friends. Transport officials report smooth operations despite the heavy traffic. And many shoppers are taking advantage of post holiday sales along the way. This traditional return home is a reminder that Americans value family freedom and personal responsibility, making the end of the holiday season both busy and heartwarming, no matter how far people traveled. Now it's time to get ready for a strong start to 2026. And the holidays may be over, but Americans are still hunting for deals during the post New Year's sales. 2026 retailers are slashing prices on winter clothing, electronics, home goods and clearance items. And sharp budget savvy shoppers are ready to cash in. Online shopping remains strong, with many taking advantage of convenient pickup options or buy now, pay later plans. Economists say this post holiday window provides a boost to Main street and local businesses, proving that Americans know how to stretch their dollars and still support traditional retailers. For shoppers, it's a second chance at savings. And for retailers, it's a strong start to the New Year's economy. And as we return to our routines the day after New Year's Day 2026. Many are reflecting on their resolutions and the holiday celebrations behind them. And sports fans will enjoy the remaining holiday football games this weekend. Up next, America standing strong on the world stage. A look at the hotspots that we are facing as we dive into the new year. But first, a quick look at today in history. This one is for all of our football fans watching American Sunrise right now. It was on this date in 1965 that the new York jets signed future Pro Football hall of Fame quarterback Joe namath. His contract, $427,000 over three years, a paltry sum by today's NFL standards, but it was a pro football record at the time. American Sunrise. We'll be back in just a moment. Stay with us.
David Brody
I have been to Omaha, Nebraska. I know you wondered. I know the burning question. You woke up this morning, go. I wonder if David Brody's ever been to Omaha, Nebraska. I, I get that, and I can answer that in the affirmative. I have. Welcome back, everybody, to the First Friday of 2026, this edition of American Sunrise, the one and only, by the way. I'm David Brody. Christians under attack in Nigeria and that deadly Hanukkah terror attack in Australia, both sounding the alarm. The resurgence of ISIS and global jihadist networks happening, and it's happening now. Intelligence officials say terror groups are rebuilding, they're recruiting, they're expanding their reach from the Middle east to Europe, now the west, which is why we just bombed an ISIS stronghold in Nigeria. Joining us now to break it all down, retired Navy captain, GOP strategist and California state Senate candidate for Armin Kurdian. Armin, thanks for being here. And happy New Year to you, sir. Look, so are we watching the early signs of this, like, new global terror wave? Because to me, this has been around for a very long time. And radical Islamic terrorism has been the linchpin in all of this. It never really did go away.
Armin Kurdian
No. And Happy New Year, Dr. Gina, David, and Emily. So what we're seeing in Africa is ISIS basically trying to reconstitute itself. And they're having perhaps say, maybe an easier time in hiding in the shadows in Nigeria because, you know, it's not as much open desert. There's a lot of, there's a lot of conflict. And they're just sort of managing to keep themselves embedded within it. And they've expanded from West Africa into that area. And we've seen what's happening up north in Somalia as well. These, these ISIS terrorists, these Salafists have been attacking Christians and Muslims at the same time. A lot of times, these kidnappings and extortions that they're doing, they're just reigning terror throughout this country. And unfortunately, the Nigerian government, even though they cooperated with us in these attacks, they are also rife with corruption as well. So that's not very helpful. You know, these strikes. We heard, you know, Tomahawk missiles, although there was a report that the Nigerian government said that MQ9 reapers were used. Perhaps, you know, that's open reporting, but perhaps the US Government didn't want that to get out. But at the same time, this can't just be a US Only effort to keep ice ISIS suppressed in Africa. The international community has to be involved. Our NATO allies have to be involved. We can't just be doing this on our own.
Emily Finn
Yeah, definitely need to have more involvement, for sure. I do want to stay on the terror threat for a moment here. When drug cartels start acting like terror groups, does that change how the US has to respond? Are we finally calling this threat what it really is?
Armin Kurdian
You know, it's very interesting. Like, where do you draw the line between a massive criminal enterprise and a terrorist organization? And I think you can say that both can be true in this case in that these massive criminal organizations are using terror in order to maintain their objectives. Essentially. You know, this, this opens up new opportunities and new tools for the US to use for the international community. Following the money in, in seizing money, seizing assets, additional overhead and intelligence assets, tracking what these cartels are actually doing. You know, these, you know, fentanyl, cocaine, opium, they don't explode. They don't kill people with shrapnel. They don't. They kill people when they're ingested. They kill people through surreptitious activities. So they are weapons of mass destruction, however you want to use it. Perhaps it requires a little act of Congress to classify drugs of a certain nature and a certain quantity as weapons of mass destruction. What Trump has done in the open seas to suppress these, these drug boats coming across to the US And Europe is, you know, unprecedented and has been highly, highly effective. You know, it's driving them more towards some of these other methods that are maybe easier to intercept. Like, remember, about 80% of the drugs coming to the US does come through legal ports of entry through hiding. So now that the border has been secure and that we don't have to worry about the high seas on these little boats anymore, we can concentrate more of our border patrol and DEA assets on these ports of entry. To stop the drugs coming in through normal entry.
Dr. Gina
Armen, as a California state Senate candidate you are seeing this up close. There are reports of cartels operating of course, right there in California. How did Sacramento politics turn into the Golden State for a playground for narco terrorists and what has to change to shut this down?
Armin Kurdian
Well, because California's turned into a playground for liberal progressive politics. They're marched in banning plastic bags and DEI and woke ideology than they are about actually enforcing the law and protecting the citizens and people who live here and pay taxes. What has to change is, you know, we gotta get, get the right people elected, but we also need to get better organized as you know, as a Republican party in order to actually make this happen. It's not simply a question of that. The Democrats suddenly had better ideas and that's why they got elected. Is that frankly, to be blunt, the Democrat party on ballots in California has been more effective than the Republican party in going out and winning elections. Elections are about campaigns, they're not always necessarily about ideas. If you can't connect with the people or get your message across, you're not going to win. They have a huge money advantage. It's going to require a lot more ground effort from people, local candidates making this kind of effort. But frankly, you know, the DAs that have been elected throughout the state, the state's attorney general and what we've seen up in Sacramento, it's got to stop. You know, sadly we have made 50% turnout of Republicans would just turn out in greater numbers and get out. We could actually win more elections. It's going to be a long struggle to make that, make that case. All these terrible things happen. But at the end of the day, so many families are struggling to feed their families and pay their rent. They don't have time to pay attention to politics for 23 months out of a 24 month cycle. And then they just look at the piece of mail that they think is the shiniest and prettiest and vote in that direction and this is something we gotta change.
David Brody
You're looking to change California, looking to change Sacramento. Running for Senate out there in California, what do you think? What's the prognosis for 2026? Because you're right, it's an all hands on deck. Can it really happen? I mean, what's the, what's the reality on the ground? What about the governorship of California? Are we ever going to see a Republican governor in California ever again?
Armin Kurdian
I think we can. You know, we've seen, you know, my home state of Kansas Even Democrat governors in the home state of Kansas. I don't see why we can't see a Republican governor in the state of state of California. You know, when I talk to voters, when I engage with them and just, you know, whether it's somebody at the grocery store or somebody I just meet and says, oh, hey, by the way, I'm running for the state senate. You know, what's on your mind, you're building a connection with a voter, you know, feel felt, found what, what's, what's going on with you and that a lot of times has been what is, what is missing. And you know, again, let's be honest, you know, a lot of the wokeness out there, the stuff that really riles up the Republican base, you know, it may not really pull a lot of folks in the middle and it certainly doesn't, you know, sway the needle on the Democrat side for the most part. What does is basic kitchen table economics. Food prices, gas prices, rent, fixing the roads, those basic things that hit close to home that are the most tangible things that you can actually feel and see with your senses. This is where Republicans and conservatives need to focus their efforts and this consistent messaging and you need to see candidates and state campaigns and local campaigns working together, not separately, need to coordinate their efforts to maximize the use of our scarce resources to get that message across. We saw with a Prop 50 campaign how poorly that was run. You know, we didn't have a money problem, but we certainly had a messaging problem and we had an organizational problem there. There's no reason that Prop 50, which basically redrew the congressional lines in this state, should have won two to one. You know, we do have some good people running for governor. Steve Hilton, Chad Bianco, there's a lot of other lower level candidates, but it's probably going to be one of the first two that's going to win the, the Republican nomination with the proper messaging. You know, that, that cuts across the middle. That doesn't, you know, I hate to say, doesn't sound too Republican or too conservative, but really hits those 70, 30 issues and then points directly to the failure of the Democrat leadership. Then, you know, we do have a chance.
Emily Finn
Yeah, absolutely. It would be awesome to see that in California. I know Gina and I both lived there for a while and it has just gone downhill with policy. So it would be great to see. But Armin, that was good advice that I think candidates all over the country should be taking for the midterm elections. What would you like to see President Trump do to be able to help out with these candidates. What would you like to see throughout 2026 to make sure that November goes well?
Armin Kurdian
Donald Trump needs to keep talking about the basics again. He needs to talk about the economy, needs to talk about jobs. You know, it's very interesting. We saw really good job growth. That's something to talk about. We saw unemployment rate at 2.7%. And that is despite, despite the state of California having the highest unemployment rate of any state in the nation, despite the fact that small business creation in this state is deteriorating and people are fleeing the blue states. You know, maybe you could come up with some statistics, say, look, here's the states with Republican legislatures, here's how they're doing, here's the states with Democrat legislatures, here's how they're doing and draw that parallel and make, make that connection. Trump has done some great things around the world and trying to bring peace. You know, he secured the border. He's got to talk about these basic things that affect people. And one thing I've liked that I've seen in this year is there's been a very steady, low level amount of advertising you see on national TV and radio about the good things that are happening in the country because of these policies. We need to continue that, to keep it in the backs of people's minds. And Trump needs to hit this every time he's out there talking. He needs to talk about jobs, he's got to talk about the economy, he's got to talk about, you know, know, tax, tax is going down. He's got to talk about real wages going up. Hit them over and over and over again. Never stop every opportunity you've got to do that. And then Republicans need to keep up with that message and follow it up. Say, hey, I'm, I'm for jobs, I'm for lower taxes. I'm for not spending your money on wasteful things and for fixing the roads and for fixing that pothole in the street which has been there for the last three years. Those local issues, those things that have been sticking in the sides, those thorny stuff, Sony issues, you know, in city governments, in county governments, keep making that, keep making that, that report.
David Brody
And Armin, you're doing that every single day out there. Running for California State Senate there. I appreciate your time. Thank you, Armin.
Armin Kurdian
Thanks much. Have a great day.
Dr. Gina
You too.
David Brody
All right. And Happy New Year.
Dr. Gina
Happy New Year.
David Brody
Coming up, a lame stream media shakeup is underway. Who are going to be the winners and losers of 2020? Find out next as American Sunrise Continues.
Curtis Hauck
All right.
Dr. Gina
Welcome back to American sunrise. I'm Dr. G. Thanks for joining us. It is time now for today's health news sponsored by the Wellness company Under the Microscope today, sticking to our new year resolutions grind. We are only one day in. You guys, how are those new year health goals going? Well, if you're already struggling on day one, here are some tips to help create some healthy habits and keep that routine. Starting now with physical health. Start tracking your steps. This is an easy measure. You'll realize how many meaningful steps you're taking. To see if more is needed. Try to give yourself just 30 minutes to walk. It can be grounding, it can be mind clearing. Track it with a fitness app. It's easy to do. Another tip for your mental health, try meditation or prayer. Only five minutes a day for around six weeks will drastically improve your mental well being. Also a great way to do this journaling. Starting with twice a week, you can see stressors and problems. They'll become illuminated. If you use journaling in conjunction with prayer, I'm telling you, you will start seeing solutions. I actually have a book coming out this year that's gonna help you with all of that. But for right now, do it anyway. Even if you just start a gratitude journal, I think that's a great way to go too. This will help you mentally, emotionally and physically. Just a gratitude journal. You can put one in your living room open. Just have your family write what they're thankful for. As for emotional health, go outside and smell the roses. Schedule a coffee date with a friend or family member. Write down three things every day before bed that you're grateful for. Or even just one thing. Even just one. Start with small steps. I think that's the important thing. Don't overwhelm yourself and don't decide you're gonna revolutionize your whole life on every level. And start working out 10 hours a day. Journaling three pages every day and reading your bible a whole chapter every night. Thing is easy steps. Bite off a bowl just a couple times a week. Small steps and then you can increase your habits and they will become more consistent. Well, you know that stubborn ache that ice, heat or pain pills won't touch? Well, Therablue was designed to go deeper. This next generation peptide gel uses Aqua molecular delivery technology to drive relief ingredients past the skin into the muscle tissue powerhouse trio. I'm telling you guys. Copper peptide to reduce inflammation. NAD plus to restore cellular energy. Methylene blue protects your mitochondria, helps support real recovery, not just numbing. Right plus MSM turmeric, white willow bark, arnica and ginger calm inflammation while menthol and camphor give that cooling relief that feels so good. Get 10% off right now at TWC Health. Rav Coderav Move freely again with theirblue. Let's send it over to David.
David Brody
Thank you, Gina.
Curtis Hauck
All right.
Dr. Gina
You can't, by the way, with the code. Ralph.
David Brody
No, no, I know, but you got it in anyhow, didn't you? All right, you did in a very different way. That idea of pausing and refocusing for the new year is playing out in politics and the media right now. The political landscape landscape is changing and so is the media landscape. And so who better to talk to? Well, that would be Curtis Hauck. He's managing editor of Newsbusters at the Media Research center and a good friend of the show. Curtis, look, the changing media landscape. I'm curious to get your take on who are the biggest winners and losers in 2025 and what about as we head into 2026, the ones ahead of the pack as we head into the new year? Good morning to you. You.
Curtis Hauck
Hey, good morning. Happy New Year. Good to be with you guys. Well, first of all, I have two big winners of 2025 and into 2026, I would say conservative media. You know, we're here on Real America's Voice. You know, conservative journalism in the last year has shown that it can also, it can, it's not just putting on real news, but it can do so on a massive scale. It can scale up. It's providing real journalism. It's, you know, it's not the, the proved state run media that the left may pander and lampoon everyone as. Just earlier this week the Washington examiner had a story pointing out that 70% of illegal immigrants deported, captured by ICE this last year were either charged with serious crimes or had been convicted of serious crimes. That's the kind of serious hard facts journalism that we're not seeing in the liberal media. The other one is cbs. The reason I say that is because, because very rarely do these liberal outlets have a chance, one last chance to redeem themselves. And they have that opportunity right now. And Barry Weiss is focused on, as we saw with the 60 Minutes kerfuffle, that she is focused on the viewers. She doesn't care about hurting people's feelings. They're there at cbs, the losers, ABC News, the Washington Post and late night comedy. All. I think you could kind of let your imagination run about why those networks and areas are struggling. People aren't listening to them. They're virulently anti Trump. They're full of hatred. In the Washington Post case, they tried to change the op ed pages, make it more like the Wall Street Journal, but their reporting is still extremely liberal and they've pissed off the left. So it's all just one kind of mess that Bezos kind of needs to dig himself out of going into 2026 here.
Dr. Gina
Well, one big name in media right now, Tucker Carlson, continuing to sway audiences. Some say he has his eye on the White House. Is that a possibility?
Curtis Hauck
I'm not entirely sure. I mean, maybe he does see the reasoning for it because Donald Trump came out of nowhere. Donald Trump was doing the NBC Apprentice thing. He was a builder. Whereas Tucker has worked for really most conservative publications that were around in the 90s at some point. The Weekly Standard, he was on CNN, he was on MSNBC, was on Fox News. Now he's doing his own thing.
Sam Sorbo
Thing.
Curtis Hauck
As long as the vice president, J.D. vance, runs, which you know he will, I don't think he will run because I think there's no greater single person in political media that was responsible for the rise of J.D. vance than Tucker Carlson. And I don't see Tucker Carlson wanting to throw away all the political capital that he spent to help build up JD Vance.
Dr. Gina
You think they're still friends?
Curtis Hauck
Oh, I definitely think so. I would think so.
Dr. Gina
Interesting.
Emily Finn
That is interesting. Well, Curtis, it is time for more predictions. What is ahead in Media in 2026?
Curtis Hauck
Well, I will see. I think the president's media lawsuits is a trend that we will continue to see that he set the tone, that people who are smeared and slandered and outright lied about in the press, people are going to put their money where their mouth is. Those that do have the means are going to go straight for the jugular and take them to court. The artist formerly known as msnbc, Mississippi. Now will continue to flander and struggle. I mean, again, that looks like a Microsoft paint logo. They will spend a lot of money trying to promote themselves as real journalists, but we all know it's just the same old, same old. And I will think conservative and alternative media will continue to grow as well because people will go where they want to get real news. They will still have a balanced news diet. But I just think that, you know, I always say the Internet is a net positive for all of the things about loneliness and sin that kind of percolates on the Internet overflowing at times. I always say it's a positive because people have access to greater sources of information at Their fingertips. It's the great equalizer. And so I think outlets like this one will continue to grow while msnbc, CNN and the rest will continue to go down the tubes.
Dr. Gina
All right, Curtis. Well, we'll be watching. Thank you so much for being with us. Happy New Year to you.
Curtis Hauck
Happy New Year. Thank you, gang.
David Brody
Thanks, Curtis.
Dr. Gina
DEI is done and white male employees are coming forward. The shift in workplace discrimination claims for 2026 is next as American Sunrise continues.
Armin Kurdian
Listen carefully.
David Brody
All right, welcome back everybody to American Sunrise 1775 Coffee. Let's talk about it for a second. It isn't just another brand, it's a statement. Their rejuvenate roast is more than just bold flavor. It's infused with caakg, not aoc, that's caakg. It's a compound backed by real science shown to support longevity, reduce inflammation, increase energy, and potentially reverse biological age by up to eight years. Hey, I'll take some of that. Yeah, it sounds high level, but it is the real deal. It actually tastes great as well. I drink it every morning. It's phenomenal. So if you're looking for clean energy without the crash, check out their mushroom coffee. It's got five functional mushrooms, they're actually functioning that help sharpen, focus and support your body without the usual jitters. Everything 1775 is, first of all, it's single origin. It's mold and toxin free. It's roasted fresh every week in Miami by Joe Biden. That's not true. I made that part up and built by people who stand for free speech, truth and this country, which would be the United States of America. I back it, of course, because it aligns with what we talk about on this show. No compromise, no corporate garbage. So head to 1775 Coffee.com RAV use code RAV4. 10% or I can't do it. 10% off and start your mornings with something that fuels more than just your body and fuels your principles. Emily, over to you. As we talk about fueling our, I don't know, our news senses. Take us and tell us something about the news.
Emily Finn
All right, thank you.
David Brody
What am I talking about?
Emily Finn
Well, now that you got us all caffeinated here, David, it is time to stay awake, not woke. As we kick off 2027, the reset begins. The EEOC Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is now telling white men to file discrimination claims if they were passed over at work. Same civil rights laws, same protections, no exceptions. For years, DEI meant merit last, merit last. Check boxes first. Skin color, sex and politics decided who moved up. Now the government is saying the quiet part out loud. That was discrimination. As 2026 begins, the course correction is now official. One standard, one law. Eyes open. That's not woke, that's just being awake. David, your thoughts on all of this? As a white man.
David Brody
I'm a white man and I'm angry about it. I'm going to just. I'm going to file suit against everybody. Yeah, look, I mean, the DEI stuff, the actual procedures that are in place, and more importantly, the language that is behind the procedures have really given way to even more of these lawsuits that are going to come forward. Because DEI language makes it so blatant as it relates to. Look, we know what their deal is in terms of quotas and what they're looking for and everything that it gives more heft, if you will, to the lawsuit that white people, if you will, like me. Thank you. Emily. Can file if they want to. So, Gina, I. I see why this is coming. I think dei, the liberals wanted it for good and of course it ended up being really bad for them, including more discrimination suits by white people.
Dr. Gina
I am so excited about this. As a mother of two white sons. I have a Hispanic son as well, cuz I adopted him. But as a mother of two white sons who has always felt like they don't have career opportunities, Emily. That they. I tell them things like, don't even think about going into politics because you won't be elected if you're a white guy. You need to think about things you can do based solely on merit and then expect not to get into the schools that you want to expect not to be the first one. You have to shine brighter than anybody else, otherwise you're never gonna get chosen. I am so excited about this. I don't believe in suing people as a way to get things, but I do believe in equalizing the field that they have corrupted. And unfortunately, that's where we are. I would say to the men out there who feel like you've been discriminated against, go do this and think of it as your civic duty right now. Because if we don't catch up on this right now and flip the tables on them, they will continue with this ridiculous DEI thing the minute they're back in power.
Emily Finn
Yeah, definitely heading in the right direction in 2026, that's for sure. All right, coming up, a new year and new lessons to be learned from the Bible. Our moment of faith is just ahead.
David Brody
God bless the usa.
Brian Glenn
In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.
David Brody
Welcome back, everybody, to American Sunrise. I'm David Brody. Time now for a moment of faith. It's brought to us by Lee Greenwood and the God Bless the USA Bible in focus today, Lazarus and the lesson his life, death, and resurrection provides as we enter the new year. So in the story of Lazarus, before Jesus raised him from the dead, he paused not from lack of love, but to show God's perfect timing. When all hope seemed lost, new life came forth. It's a new year reminder when God feels silent. It's okay, he's still working. Joining us now is a guy that's working all the time, Jim Mosley. He's the author of the Duke of D.C. and discovering Jesus Disciples. He's also a co author with our own Dr. G. The fantastic new book, Days of Creation by Heart, Teaching children how God made the world. You got to check that out. Jim. Great to have you here. By the way, happy New Year. By the way, Happy New Year. Happy New Year, David. All right, well, look, last week, you walked us through Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. Now, today you say another revealing part of the story is actually what happened after Lazarus walked out of the tomb. Take it from there, Jim.
Brian Glenn
Sure.
David Brody
Because what comes next tells us who really understood what Lazarus resurrection meant. So start with the family. We're never told of a father, a husband, or another brother. In the household of Mary and Martha, Lazarus seems to have been their sole male protector. And in the first century, that really mattered. With Lazarus dead, these two women weren't just grieving, they were vulnerable. No legal standing, no protection. So when Jesus raised Lazarus, he didn't just restore life, he restored a household. And that explains something else that happened soon afterward. Mary of Bethany pours out pure nard on Jesus feet perfume that's worth a full year's salary, like about $62,000 today. Now, Judas called it waste because he felt it was wasted since he didn't get his hands on it. But it was gratitude. The family wasn't poor, but they knew exactly what Jesus had given them back. Gratitude loosens the grip of money on the soul. And now here's where it gets darker. John tells us the religious leaders decided killing Jesus wasn't enough. They added Lazarus to their hit list. Why? Because Lazarus was walking, talking proof that resurrection was real. Through God, they understood if God could raise the dead, something they couldn't do, their authority was finished. They knew that before Jesus raised himself. And Jesus had already prophesied that he would rise on the third day. And they believed that him, they wanted to stop him. And one last human Note, Jesus had two people in his life who might be called his besties. John, the disciple Jesus, loved in Lazarus, the man whose death made Jesus weep. Now, later, Christian tradition says Lazarus went on to lead the church, some say in Cyprus, some even say in France. And I kind of like to picture Lazarus, Mary and Martha having croissants for breakfast, even though coffee wouldn't come to Europe for another 15 centuries. But wherever Lazarus ended up, one thing's certain. Once resurrection entered history, everything changed. The power of God appeared in time and space. You know, Jim, I love the way you put that, especially, you know, saving a family. If you think about it. That's a really good point. Something I hadn't really considered, especially looking at the genealogy there or the family history, I should say the family tree. A couple of things. One thing that stands out to me is that when Jesus finally, I say finally, right. His timing is always perfect, right? But in our human feebleness, at the time that Jesus came, everybody's like, really, you got here now you're killing me. And so it's just, to me, such a wonderful reminder that God's timing is always perfect and that just because we think, think he should have showed up yesterday or maybe he needs to show up in a week or two, he knows best. And I think that's an important part of the story as well. And also to remember God's miracles are his business cards. In other words, he wanted to do this on the day that he did it so the maximum number of people would be there to witness it and to be inspired to turn to God because of it. Yeah. Jim Mosley. Wonderful. By the way, you know, you're on with us all the time, every week. Where can people get more information if they want to really call and really know your knowledge and all of the wisdom that you impart, because it's great stuff. Where can people go, Jim? Oh, I get lots of emails from RAB, our viewers. So it's thebiblehistoryguy.com just go right there and you'll see a way to contact me and I answer everyone. I'm sure you do, Jim. And by the way, that's not just a one line answer. You're doing a few paragraphs deep at least. And then you'll deliver it on horseback to them. They'll eventually get it.
Curtis Hauck
All right.
David Brody
All right. Jim Mosley, thanks for being here as always. Appreciate it.
Brian Glenn
All right.
David Brody
God bless you, David. All right. Happy New Year to you. Happy New Year to everybody out there. We are back with the Second hour of American Sunrise in two minutes. Stick around.
Dr. Gina
Just ahead on the second hour of American Sunrise. President Trump says his administration plans to to expand its immigration enforcement operations throughout 2026 despite backlash from liberal leaders in cities across America. We're going to break down the new strategies from ICE to continue Trump's crackdown on illegal immigration and who should be drained from the D.C. swamp in this new year. We will debate our top picks on who needs to be flushed out first in 2026. And the entertainment industry seeing a shift away from the woke with more productions embracing conservative values. Producer and actress Sam Sorbo joins us to discuss how President Trump is influencing Hollywood to embrace a new direction. All of that, so much more as American Sunrise starts right now.
David Brody
Good morning, America.
Dr. Gina
Welcome to American Sunrise. Whether it's culture, we have breaking news to share with you.
David Brody
Politics. President Trump is joining us live now from Florida.
Brian Glenn
We've got you covered.
David Brody
This is what it looks like to be a patriot.
Brian Glenn
We have to protect the American family.
Dr. Gina
The American dream is still alive.
David Brody
I'm David Brody.
Brian Glenn
I'm terrence.
Dr. Gina
And I'm Dr. Gina. All right, welcome back to this New Year's second hour of American Sunrise. I'm Dr. Gina. Good morning. Let me bring in my co host today, Emily Finn. And filling in this hour for David Brody is Ralph Whitehouse correspondent Brian Glynn. Terrence Bates has the day off as well. Welcome to you two. Look, we are the working stiffs officially for this new year.
Emily Finn
That's right.
Brian Glenn
We are the working class of real America's Voice. And of course, everyone behind the camera as well. We are the working class.
Dr. Gina
Yes, we are.
Emily Finn
I am so excited that you're here with us today, Brian. Always, always a treat. Always a pleasure to get to host with you.
Brian Glenn
I love hanging out with you guys. I wish I could teleport to West Palm beach every day. I absolutely enjoy it.
Dr. Gina
I think you should. I think the weather's fine. Just in case you were curious.
Brian Glenn
I like it warm.
Dr. Gina
Well, happy New Year's to both of you. Emily, why don't you take us into some headlines for the day?
Emily Finn
All right, we'll do, Gina. Millions of Americans are heading home after New Year celebrations. Across the country, airports, highways and train stations are busy with families returning from vacation, visiting relatives, or spending time with friends. Transport officials report smooth operations despite the heavy traffic. And many shoppers are taking advantage of post holiday sales along the way. This traditional return home is a reminder that Americans value family freedom and personal responsibility, making the end of the holiday season both busy and heartwarming. No matter how far people traveled, the message is clear. America is ready for a strong start to 2026. The holidays may be over, but Americans are still hunting for deals. During the post New Year's sales 2026 retailers are slashing prices on winter clothing, electronics, home goods and clearance items. And sharp budget savvy shoppers are ready to cash in. Online shopping remains strong, with many taking advantage of convenient pickup options or buy now, pay later platform plans. Economists say this post holiday window provides a boost to Main street and local businesses, proving that Americans know how to stretch their dollars and still support traditional retailers. For shoppers, it's a second chance at savings. And for retailers, it's a strong start to the New Year's economy. And as we return to our routines the day after New Year's Day 2026, many are reflecting on their resolutions and the holiday celebrations behind them. Sports fans will enjoy the remaining holiday football games this weekend. And we are going to toss it back to Dr. Gina.
Dr. Gina
Thank you, Emily. With the holidays behind us now and the country back in motion, attention now turns to what leadership looks like in this new year. Joining us now, Robert Charles, who worked in the Reagan White House, served as a former assistant secretary of state and is now a candidate for governor of Maine. Robert, welcome to the show. Happy New Year. As Americans reset, look ahead, deal with traffic on their way to work. You know, what, what do what are Americans most hungry for? And how does that shape the case for leadership at the state level? You know, all over the country, really?
Robert Charles
You know, I think the reality is people want a return to normal. They, you know, this may be an phrase, but they want to return to Norman Rockwell's America. They want to be able to have lower taxes and less government in their lives. And we call that affordability. But at the end of the day, it's just being able to make ends meet. And up here in Maine, that's always a challenge, especially under the Democrats recently. I think they want to return to rule of law and that means get rid of and finish off this process of getting illegal aliens out of here. Get these drug traffickers that have been on the rise to be on the fall, get them out of here and maybe a respect for law among average people. And that really bleeds into the third big thing and that is this return to normal business means let's just put the death to the idea of Marxism in America. People don't really want this infatuation with woke garbage in their schools anymore. So at the end of the Day. And the only other thing I think I would say people are hungry for, and we see it in the headlines, is accountability in government. You know, it used to be we all understood that those in government worked for us, we didn't work for them. And I think there is a restoration, a need for the restoration here of the idea that a republic only works if the people who are vested with that trust actually uphold that trust and are accountable. And from Minnesota to Maine, we see an awful lot of betrayed trust. So I think people just want back to normal Norman Rockwell's America, which we can do.
Emily Finn
Absolutely. Yeah. Accountability certainly is something that Americans want to see more of. You know, we also want to get your take on this. President Trump is planning to expand into more aggressive ICE operations with billions of new funding throughout 2026. Your reaction to this? I mean, this is something that he definitely is delivering on his promises with in terms of immigration.
Robert Charles
Yeah, absolutely. You know, I think when Ronald Reagan came finally to power, he said there have been a lot of years of. I'm paraphrasing. But what he said was, there's been a lot of years of messing it up. It takes an awful lot of time to get it fixed. And, you know, he used the analogy of a stable full of, well, let's just say a full stable, needing to shovel it out. And that's really what we're up against here. The illegal aliens in this country number, I mean, we have so many, we don't even know whether it's 10 million or 20 million. And what we're finding is that there, every time you turn over a rock, there's more. And so I think the bottom line is these four false claims of asylum, these people who've come in between the checkpoints, they need to be swept out of here. I use the phrase in Maine, we need to wire brush them out of here. Obviously, legally, we will have a temporary immigration court optimally here to quickly move them through like a conveyor belt. But the president is going to put choke points out there, and I think he's doing it exactly right. You put more ICE out at the borders, you put them at the central locations where you find illegal aliens, you put them in these benefit centers. And ultimately I'd like to see up here and make and all over the United States enough marshals and ice that when the next election cycle comes around 20, 26, late this year, and even in the primaries, people are able to say, look, I need marshals and ICE two or three weeks out ahead here at the polls. So we don't get any of this illegal voting. So I think he's doing it right.
Brian Glenn
Well, Bobby, that leads me to my next question. What is your preview of the 2026 midterms? Besides that we all know a guy named Bobby that can may or may not win the governor's race seat. What's your predictions for your grand state and the rest of this country in the midterms?
Robert Charles
Well, I would like to go back to the old phrase that as Maine goes, so goes the country.
Curtis Hauck
We are up.
Robert Charles
My campaign is up double digits, which is remarkable in multiple polls. We're up by 20 points in one poll. We have a very strong message and it kind of reflects what I said earlier. I keep it down to the tight sort of cut taxes, cut crime, and cut the nonsense. But at the end of the day, I think Maine may be an example of how you take a blue state and turn it entirely red. We're on course to win the governorship. The best thing we've got going for us is the Democrats. They continue to flail and die on all the wrong hills. And then if we win the legislature, which we're on track to do very well there, too, we win the constitutional officers. And what that does, the way places like Kentucky and Florida and others in the past have done, is it shows you you can take a state that got infected with the disease of Marxism or wokeism and overspending and overtaxing, and you can reverse that course broadly if you take that cent circle and you expand it outward to the country. I think what we're going to see here is a surprising upturn in the elections. And the year that this reminds me of is 1994, a mid year, a midterm election cycle in which you didn't have a president running. You did end up with high turnout in 1994. The Democrats thought they had total control of the government. They thought with a combination of Bill Clinton and control of the House and the Senate, Senate, they were going to be just, you know, in the clover. And it turned out that with Gingrich, and I worked with him at that time, but they flipped. We flipped 52 seats, and the Democrats were left gobsmacked. They couldn't figure out what went wrong. And what went wrong was that they believed that every midterm belonged to them if the president either way. And they believed that they were going to continue to stay in control. They'd been in control for 40 years in the House, and they were wrong. And the Democrats had been in control for almost 30, 30 of 32 years here in Maine. And they are going to be gobsmacked when we're done, done. They're going to turn around and go, wow, you mean people really did just want common sense and more affordable life and more rule of law. That's really what they wanted. And the answer is, yeah, nationwide, that's what people want. They want to return to normal, less government, more accountability. And hey, you work for us, not the other way around.
Dr. Gina
But a lot out there, a lot of folks out there asking the question, Bobby, what happens if all the great illegal immigration policy that President Trump has put into place is not actually codified into law? People are starting to ask that question as they look down the road to 2028, 2026 and beyond 2028 as well. Because then what the doomsayers would say is that, look, there are going to be prosecutions of Republicans again. They'll weaponize branches of government again against MAGA Patriots and America First Patriots, and they'll likely go ahead and prosecute President Trump, his entire family, his entire administration and many of his supporters. What's your response to that?
Robert Charles
You know, I'd like to believe that optimism, as Reagan used to say, is a force multiplier that we would, we would listen, as Lincoln and Reagan said, to our better angels over some period of time. I realize there are those that hate Trump and there are those that, that and I'm probably one of them that really hates the Marxist intrusion onto our into our lives. But I guess I would say I have a great faith in the American people's ability to see truth and to keep to it. And I think part of what we have to do is keep re educating ourself. Education never ends about the fact that our founding principles involved remembering that the Republic to again borrow from Benjamin Franklin is hard to keep. That you have to want to keep rule of law, you have to want to keep a non political judicial system. You have to want to codify the idea that fairness in law is what we're all about. And I think, you know, one of the best things in the world. I'll leave you with these two things. One, I would love to see in this next year a rededication to everybody reading the Constitution, thinking about it, understanding what it really means, going back and understanding that our founding fathers really were brilliant. They're just not, they're not just people who showed up on the planet and were lucky. They, they were truly foresightful. So re understand the foundation point points of our republic and then finally And I'll add this as having recently spent some time in some military cemeteries, I would love to see us appreciate that America is not an accident and just have kids, maybe at the high school level, walk through a cemetery with a veteran and understand that this constitutional republic that we should love to the ends of the earth, deeply, deeply support, defend that this was not an accident. This is the product of enormous sacrifice by military practice personnel, by patriots of all kinds, by teachers, by nurses, by doctors, by businessmen and women. This is a country that we should love and cherish. And that's why I wrote a book called Cherish America a few years ago. We've got to get back to basics and love America.
Dr. Gina
Bobby Charles, thank you so much. Happy New Year to you.
Armin Kurdian
And you.
Dr. Gina
Still ahead on American Sunrise. As I just said, it is a new year. We're going to emphasize that today for sure. That means that so there's a new chance to drain the D.C. swamp. And we're sharing our thoughts on who should be flushed first when American Sunrise continues. We'll be right back.
Emily Finn
Welcome back to American Sunrise. I'm Emily Finn. And it's time to drain the swamp. And this morning, who's most likely to get flushed in 2023? First, the Clintons, the swamp's royal family, decades of high crimes and misdemeanors, everything the left claims to hate, they did, and the swamp protected them always. Will the shield finally crack in 2026? We shall see. Up next, George Soros, the swamp's banker, the man who funded the DA revolutions, the riots, the woke takeover. Now President Trump says he and his son should face RICO charges. The left calls it outrageous, Americans call it. Finally. And then John Brennan, the intelligence power broker who sat at the center of the deep state web, now hauled before a federal grand jury. Questions looming about the 2016 intel, the dossier, and whether the entire Trump Russia narrative was engineered from the shadows. 2026 may be the year his secret secrets come up for air. These are the early favorites. And the swamp is full. There's many more. And the drain is widening. 2026 may be the year the creatures finally get flushed. Brian, as RAV's chief White House correspondent, you are in the swamp day after day. What say you? Do we miss anyone from that list?
Brian Glenn
Well, you probably missed a few people from Congress. And we'll see how all of the Somalian investigations and all the fraud and abuse that take place there. And we'll take a look at that. But the sad reality, and I wish I could sit here and tell you that all those people you just mentioned or maybe just one of them would be flushed out of the swamp. But I just don't have faith that that's ever going to happen. Think about all the non accountability we've had for January 6th. Let's just go back to January 6th and the committee that was a Hollywood production that vilified many that were very innocent, put them behind bars. Nothing has happened to them. So who's going to be drained from the swamp? I think.
Armin Kurdian
It'S.
Brian Glenn
I wish I had the answer for you and I wish I was optimistic on this new year. But I'm sorry, but I just don't think any one of the individuals that you listed are ever going to leave the swamp.
Dr. Gina
Brian, I hate to agree with you on this. Not because I hate to agree with you, because I do most of the time, but I agree with you on this. I have to tell you it's disheartening for me because here's what I see. I sit around the dinner table a lot. My friends, my kids, not my friends, my kids bring all their friends by and they're all Gen Z and they've become very cynical. They had a lot of things that they believed they were fighting for in the last campaign and they want to see it all happen. And they don't even know what's going on in Iran. They're not particularly interested in Israel other than to say they don't want to fund, they don't want to fund for. They're not interested in what's happening in the geopolitical. They are interested in what their futures look like. And they believed that Doge was going to happen, that the deficit was going to be eliminated. Eliminated. They believed that, you know, things like the wonderful progress President Trump has made on illegal immigration, those fixes were going to be permanent. Not for one Trump term. Right. They don't want to be the next J6ers sitting idly. I'm telling you, many of them have become so cynical. They don't believe in the political system anymore in America. And I think that terrifies me on a daily basis. There needs to be a conversation. Yes, please.
Brian Glenn
If they give up and they don't believe, they don't vote. And that's scary, unfortunately.
Curtis Hauck
Very scary.
Dr. Gina
And I'm telling you these are major influencers from all across social media from Gen Z, their voice matters and they are very opinionated on this and it's very discouraging for me. So when you hear me talking about this stuff every day and saying, please can we please do what we said we were going to do? Our children are counting on it.
Emily Finn
Certainly. Well, that's why people under 30 in America definitely are switching over to the Republican Party. All right, we do want to know what you, our viewers think. Let us know on YouTube rumble or getter. Hop on and let know you your voice be heard. David Brody
All right, welcome back, everybody, to the special, this special New Year's Day edition of American Sunrise. I'm David Brody. Time now for our daily dose of dollars and common sense. And on this New Year's Day, we are thrilled to introduce Ed Butowski, the managing partner of Chapwood Investments with us. Ed, happy New Year. So look, as we begin this new year, a lot of people starting to think about their investments for the year. I got to tell you, I thought I did pretty well last year with my 401. I invested a lot in makeup, clearly. So what's your take about next year? What do you think?
Ed Butowski
Well, happy New Year to all of you. So I don't believe because the calendar has changed that economic conditions have changed. And that's one of the big fallacies and big faults that people make is that they think they have to make a change because the calendar has changed, but economic conditions have not changed. We have a slower US economy even though we grew at 4.3% recently. And we have most likely lower interest rates coming which is going to stimulate growth in a lot of our small companies. So I think that the one change you might make is transferring from big companies to smaller companies because smaller companies proportionally get helped a lot more by lower interest rates. So the cost of capital being lower proportionally helps small value and small growth companies more.
Brian Glenn
Hey Ed, I'm curious to get your take on this part of the economic story, if you will. The numbers seem to be high. Obviously the Trump administration administration touts this major resurgence and really victories when it comes to the economy. But many Americans don't necessarily feel it. The reality doesn't necessarily represent the perception out there. From a professional perspective. What are you hearing, what are you hearing from your clients even as it relates to how their portfolios are looking versus the reality of the markets?
Ed Butowski
Well, my clients portfolios all have some sort of income. They either have income plus growth growth or growth plus income. But there's always some form of income coming into their portfolio. So lower interest rates are going to help them. But at the same time, one of the things that people need to focus on is that interest rates are going to be a main driver of everything that's going to happen in 2026. And as long as you have interest rate sensitive investments, you're going to do very well. Well, so everybody needs to have some form of income producing investments in their portfolios.
David Brody
Dr. Gina, can I just follow up real quick?
Brian Glenn
Because when you talk about interest rates, obviously that brings to mind a conversation about the Fed, which we're expecting will have some huge changes. Obviously it starts with leadership. There's going to be a new Fed chair and then there's going to be pressure on the Fed, one would imagine, from President Trump to in fact drop interest rates, even if it's not necessarily what appears to to Fed regulators as the ideal policy move. How do you jive all of that?
Ed Butowski
Well, I think that whoever he picks, he will have already predetermined if they're going to be bearish or dovish or, excuse me, hawkish or dovish on interest rates. And I believe that he's going to select somebody who's going to be like minded with him. Every president wants lower interest rates. There's never been a president that doesn't want lower interest rates. So I believe that he's going to pick somebody, maybe Haslett, to be the next Fed chair. But Powell is definitely going to be out. You know, there's no question about that. I would put all the money in the world that Powell is going to be out.
Dr. Gina
I'M torn between.
Brian Glenn
I'll raise you on that one.
Dr. Gina
Two questions here, Ed. The first one I'm going to ask you is what exactly do you these handouts that are coming to some Americans in lower middle income brackets, somewhere between 11 and $20,000, some are saying, what does that really do to an economy when you do that?
Ed Butowski
Well, it stimulates buying, and everybody wants consumers out there buying things because there's a multiplier effect. But there is also a drain on our budget. And our budget deficit is something that's going to bite us at some point in time. There's so many different ways that politicians dance around that. But having more money in everyone's pocket is a positive thing as long as they save it or invest it. But if they go out and spend it, then there's more tax dollars that go into the US Government. So that's a positive. So overall, it's a positive, but there's a drain on our budget, definitely deficit.
Dr. Gina
Yeah, I wondered about that. Also. Real quick, I just want to ask you, Ed, President Trump, taking a lot of criticism for some of the businesses he's been building up on the side that his family is benefiting from, the left is losing their minds over this. It promises to be a key issue in the midterm elections. Ed, what do you do about the fact that, you know, you want to create generational wealth for your kids and all of a sudden you're president and you feel like you've been to hell and back by your enemies and you have the opportunity to invest around the world, what do you make of this? Do they have a legitimate point, this insider stuff that they're asserting?
Ed Butowski
Well, you can't have it both ways. You can't have Nancy Pelosi and the rest of Congress being able to use insider information to trade. And if you were president and you've been through what he's been through, you know what, what the hell? I mean, just let them do it. If it's legal, you know what, it might not look good. And, you know, you also have to look at djt, Trump Media and try to understand what exactly it is that they're building because they have a financial services business. They have a bitcoin or cryptocurrency business. Now they have this fusion company, and it's kind of a hodgepodge of different businesses. So I'm not really sure the direction of where that business is going. I do know they need a lot of cash, but the president's being very, very careful and kind of keeping himself separate from that. And you know what? If he's in that position, he can do it. More power to him. We elected him, so let him do it.
David Brody
Speaking about President Trump, what about tariffs? Obviously, he's a big fan of tariffs. He did that in his first year. He doesn't plan to let up. It doesn't sound like in his second year here. What do you think? Where are you on tariffs exactly from an economic standpoint and what has happened since he started implementing them?
Ed Butowski
Yeah, I'm kind of in the minority here. I don't think tariffs are a big deal to the economy because if you're buying a washing machine from Mexico and you're Samsung and you're importing, Samsung is actually writing that check, not the government of Mexico. And we only import about 22% of what we use in this country. And it's broadly diverse. So it's not just games and widgets and food. It's broadly, broadly diversified between many different sectors. So I don't believe it's going to be a big burden on the economy at all.
David Brody
All right, all right.
Brian Glenn
I think that's gonna do it for us. It's been what, what a show.
David Brody
We've decided it's over.
Brian Glenn
Yeah, it's over. I'm sorry. I was just talking to my mother in law on text real quick, so I apologize.
David Brody
Thanks, Ed.
Brian Glenn
Take care.
Armin Kurdian
All right, bye.
Brian Glenn
Still to come on still to come on, this special New Year's Day edition of American Sunrise. The celebrations are over and the countdown to the 2026 midnight terms are on.
Armin Kurdian
Why?
Brian Glenn
The Maga base is mobilizing like never before. We're taking the political pulse of America.
Armin Kurdian
That's right after the break.
Dr. Gina
All right. Welcome back to American sunrise. I'm Dr. G. Thanks for joining us this morning. We invite you to hop in our conversation over on YouTube, getter and rumble. It is time now to take the political pulse of America the beat. Today, power reset for this new year. Congress heads back with a full plate and a country watching very closely. Major spending battles hit first with deadlines on defense, health, transportation, New fights over budget, AI regulation and national security already lining up. And make no mistake, every move now leads to the 2026 midterms where control of Congress and the America first agenda are more than on the line. The power reset begins and the movement is ready to drive America's next chapter. Let's bring in Emily and Brian. You guys, this is a big, big year. We've been saying it all along, but now it's really upon us and the thing I noticed about years like this is they happen really fast, Brian. They come quick. Give us, give us the four, one, one.
Brian Glenn
Yeah, well, I know one person that's not going back to Congress today or next, next few days. But, you know, the pressure is on because basically at this point, they have the end of the month to get those appropriations settled, get them all passed. I mean, you've got a lot of, you got a lot of wood to do chop, and Speaker Johnson's got to get busy on that. Now.
Armin Kurdian
Not.
Brian Glenn
That's not even taken to effect the executive orders that, that we need to codify into law. Now, we had. I know Speaker Johnson loved to brag about how efficient this past Congress session was, but the reality was is we passed the least amount of legislations since the late 80s on this. So we've got a lot of work to do. We got to show the American people that when they go to the polls in November for this, for this midterms, that we give them a reason to vote for us. And unfortunately, or fortunately, that does start in Congress as far as what bills we put forward. So they got to get to work.
Dr. Gina
No doubt about it. Brian. We're going to turn our attention now to woke influence in Hollywood. We want to welcome into American sunrise producer, actor, actress, education freedom advocate, homeschool mama, Sam Sorbo. Sam, the entertainment industry is one of my very favorite and most surprising. I'll say, thanks in large part honestly to your family of the parallel economy that has been established in response to the wokeness in the entertainment industry. And what we would call the mainstream culture is becoming less and less mainstream because American family values are becoming more and more mainstream. Tell us.
Sam Sorbo
Yeah, well, I think that people have. Have recognized how far left Hollywood actually has gone, and they're also recognizing the tremendous effect that it's having on children. For instance, we're seeing in our schools the woke agenda and the number of children that are becoming transgender, which makes absolutely no sense. There's no defense for it. It wasn't that all of these children in previous generations have been hiding for this long or the previous generations would all be turning transgender now that the, now that the, the lock is off the door, basically. And so, you know, we, we started Sorbo Studios a few years ago after we recognized that Hollywood was really just taking a different turn and people need uplifting and edifying content, entertainment to watch. And so that's what we focus on on.
Emily Finn
Sam, as an education freedom advocate, how would you say President Trump has been handling his Administration's push to return education back to the states.
Sam Sorbo
Well, that's a really loaded question. I think Trump has done some great, made some great inroads in curbing DEI in the schools and CRT and the WOKE agenda in the schools. The problem that we're facing is that it's not happening on the granular level. We still have parents that are being targeted by their school boards. That's why I represent parents demanding justice alliance to get some restitution for the parents who were targeted by their school boards because the targeting is continuing and actually getting worse. These people are out for blood. They recognize that the current administration does not like what they're doing. And so now they're doubling down and they're going after not just the parents, but the children in many instances. These are parents from school districts across the nation. It's not just in one, one city or one state, it's actually across the nation. And the zealots are doubling down. The zealots that, that serve on our school boards, that serve as teachers, sometimes in the classrooms, they're doing it despite this administration's efforts against them. So what we need to see is some actual prosecutions. We need to see some censorship of the school boards and their action behalf of the parents. Because frankly, if we don't defend the parents who are trying to defend and protect the innocence of their children, then the children are most at risk. And that's what we're seeing today.
Brian Glenn
Yeah, I 100% agree with you. There needs to be accountability for the school boards that are just going rogue. And you're right, they don't care that these, some of these laws and mandates have been in place. They just simply don't care. They're going to do what they want. So what is your advice right now? And real quick, I've got another question question for you. But if someone is in a school board situation right now, what can they do right now to take action against their school board?
Sam Sorbo
So the most effective question that I've heard asked at a school board meeting by, by members of school boards is how does this serve the children? And if you keep asking that question, then you can do away with a lot of the stuff that the school boards are trying to do. The, the inflated, the inflated budgets or the new appropriations for the kid, you know, supposedly for the kids, but it's helping the kids. So that's job number one. But honestly, we need to see some action from Pam Bondi and Harmony Dillon and the Weaponization Working Group and the Department of Justice, we need some action from them, because these people need to be put on notice by this administration. It started at the top with Merrick Garland, and it needs to end there as well.
Brian Glenn
Okay, shifting gear a little bit. The GOP and the conservative value. Sam, in your opinion, what does that does? What more does the Trump and the Congress need to do to make sure that conservative values are being represented in the media and also in entertainment?
Sam Sorbo
What can they do in the media and entertainment? That is such a great question. I mean, we can't have censorship of the media, but we're seeing it even today. So I'm not sure what Congress actually, what power Congress has. They can pass laws, but if they pass laws, for instance, the executive orders that Trump issued, they were executive orders. They didn't really have any teeth. There was no punishment for acting against them, really. It's just a decree, and then the assumption that people will follow, follow the rules. And what we have now is we have rogueness. We've engendered this in our schools because of survival of the fittest and the way that they teach kids in the schools to worship money. And so now we have a lot of rogue individuals who are just acting the way that they want to act without regard to what is proper and moral and.
Brian Glenn
True. True.
Sam Sorbo
And all of that. I'm not sure what. What Congress can do to affect the media, except to speak out and then to refuse media that won't report the facts. You know, we're seeing the reporting that's going on from the Somalian fraud in Minnesota, and the reporting is basically saying, Somalians built this nation, but don't be absurd. They came here, they're new here, and they've defrauded us. And if the media refuses to report that, then I think Trump is well within his rights to refuse them access to the White House, for instance, and Congress should refuse them access to Congress if they're not going to report the facts.
Dr. Gina
Great idea, Sam. You were, as I told you many times, so influential, and I want to say, really mentoring my family in homeschooling. I think I thought that the Department of Education would really be defunded and that that would result in better competition for families within their schooling, their educational freedom opportunities. Right. Will that happen under this administration? Will the DOE finally be defunded, and will the power and the money be returned to local school districts and homeschool families and magnet schools and other options? Options, Right.
Sam Sorbo
So that's a two part question. Right. The first part is Linda McMahon and how effective she can be, I believe she'll be very effective in defunding, quote, the Department of Education. However, unfortunately, all of those programs will probably be outsourced into other departments, which means that they will be funded through other departments and not the Department of Education. So the second part of your question is, where's the money going? And that's, of course, the clincher. That's the one that we can't know because of the shell game that they with the money. Will the money go to help students and help families? Some of it may and some of it may not. And unfortunately, we don't have an audit system. You know, we had Doge for a while. Doge uncovered a lot of corruption, and then it quietly went away. And I'm not, we're not actually sure sort of what was dismantled because DOGE discovered that it was corrupt. I'm not sure that they can do that. I think states really have to take a firmer hand and a firmer role. And frankly, I think it's really up to the parents. And the parents have to start demanding more from their schools and more from their communities, and they have to start actually inputting more. As you did, as you took the reins into your own family and said, you know what, I'm going to handle the education of my children myself. It is, after all, the parents responsibility and actually it should be the parents greatest joy to educate their children. Of course, you know that I believe in home education above everything else. I don't think school will ever beat home education. And for parents, if you want more information, go to samsorobo.com if you'd like to support Parents Demanding Justice Alliance, I encourage you to find all the information there. We are a nonprofit. We're fighting on behalf of parents throughout the nation and their right to protect the innocence of their children, which is of utmost importance.
Dr. Gina
So much importance. Sam Sorbo, love you a long time. Happy New Year to you. Thanks for here being being here.
Sam Sorbo
God bless everyone. Happy New Year.
Dr. Gina
Happy New Year.
Brian Glenn
Happy New Year.
Dr. Gina

Ed Butowski
Let's spill some Tea.
Emily Finn
All right, let's spill some tea. Fueled by Artillery Tea Company, the only America first veteran owned tea brand. Their mission? Maximize flavor with whole leaf blends and chemical free tea tea bags. No junk, just real tea. And here's a tactical advantage. Each bag brews twice. Just go to artilleryteaco.com and use the code RAV for 10% off your first order. Again, that website is artilleryteaco.com premium tea, mission driven and brewed for the brave. It is time to spill some tea. And in the cup Today, a little 2026 forecast. Because we already know who's about to keep this teacup overflowing all year year. First, the women of the View. No matter the topic, they find a way to boil over into a daily Trump hysteria symposium. Even their own executives can't get them to cool down. If outrage were ratings, they would be number one. Next is Robert De Niro. The man can't get through a week without delivering another Trump is the end of democracy monologue to any camera, microphone or passing tourist. He's been spilling the same tea for years and it just keeps steeping. And of course Jimmy Kimmel needs to be on this list. His Trump obsession has been brewing so long, it's basically a signature flavor. Trump post Kimmel monologues and suddenly he's one of the most googled people on earth. Congratulations, Jimmy. You're welcome. So who's filling our teacup in 2026? The View de Niro Kimmel. The unholy trinity of never ending Trump out rage. And if this is how they're starting the year, pour another cup. Because 2026 is going to be spicy. Let's bring in Dr. Gina and Brian for comments on all of this. Gina, did we leave anyone off of this list? Anyone that you were thinking needs to needs to be in the cup.
Dr. Gina
Oh so many. Emily. I'll just bump it over to Brian because I think he has some commentary here.
Brian Glenn
Well, I just was enjoying this list here. But I'm going to say that the View will continue to be in the cup only because they're going to get a little bit more, they're going to get additional press. Savannah Chrisley, I just saw yesterday announcing she's going to be a special co host for about a week. Someone else I know is going to be on the View for a little bit later on in January. So I think they're going to continue to put conservative voices in the View to mix it up, get some, some press off of that. And of course, Jimmy Kimball, he's built a career now on using Trump and his monologue. So hence he's one of the top Google people.
Dr. Gina
Now for prediction sake, Brian, I mean, obviously we could make a little announcement here it sounds like, but do you think the View will actually bring in a bona fide permanent conservative host?
Brian Glenn
Well, you know, there was a call for one earlier last year, year of having a, you know, more of a conservative point of view. Now from what I understand is they are actually looking to bring in people throughout the year to be that conservative voice going into the midterms. Now whether or not they decide to do that permanently or just once in a while and who those people could be, I don't know. But it is very interesting. They know how important the midterms are and they're losing viewers. And putting conservative voice would actually I think bring in additional viewership.
Dr. Gina
Yeah.
Emily Finn
Yeah, I think you're right. I think that's why a lot of people get their, their content from social media, from X. All right. Still to come on American Sunrise, a big birthday for America, 250th is coming and so are the party details straight ahead.
Brian Glenn
We will host the first ever Patriot Games, an unprecedented four day athletic event featuring the greatest high school athletes, one young man and one young woman from each state and territory.
David Brody
All right.
Dr. Gina
Welcome back to American sunrise. I'm Dr. G. Thanks so much for joining us. Joining us today. Time now for our sunny side up in the PAN Today, America's 250th birthday shaping up to be a full on celebration. President Trump has announced the first ever Patriot Games, a four day event in Washington D.C. featuring top high school athletes from every state and territory, one young man and one young woman all competing on the national stage. Now this is all part of Freedom250 which also includes a state fair on the National Mall, a new Monument and even a UFC fight at the White House. Critics complaining, but the message is clear. America turns 251 time, and this celebration is just getting started.
Emily Finn
Brian, how could you possibly complain about that? That looks like so much fun.
Brian Glenn
I'm looking forward to 2026. This is awesome. And you got the UFC fight, as you just explained, on the South Lawn of the White House. And every time I'm on the South Lawn, a lot of the members of the press will look out and go, would you think the octagon is going to be there or you think it's going to be over there? This is going to be tremendous. I love the fact he's bringing high school athletes into the mix and we're going to crown a male and female high school athlete. I absolutely love everything he's done with this. I love the military parade. If you think back last year, we did the military parade. That was incredible to watch. Amazing. I think this is all great. And 2026 will be a year that we'll never forget.
Dr. Gina
Will it be a net gain economically to America, Brian, do you think? Because it's going to cost a lot of money. That's the criticism from the left.
Brian Glenn
Yeah. But then again, I will say this. I agree it's going to cost a lot of money, but we've sent billions and billions and billions and billions of dollars overseas to Ukraine and 100 other countries. I don't care. I want to spend money on me, me, me, me, me, me, and this country. And let's throw the biggest party we've ever seen for America.
David Brody
250.
Brian Glenn
I don't care what the budget is. I don't care. Because guess what? Congress didn't care when they sent the money over to Ukraine. Congress didn't care. We sent them over to Israel and all these other countries. So let's open up a checkbook. And President Trump, if you want to stroke checks like that, let's just do it. Let's make 250 a year and be proud of this country, what we got.
Emily Finn
All right, I like it. No, no. Dojing for the Patriot Party or the Patriot.
Brian Glenn
We're going to pause doge for the party.
Dr. Gina
Yeah.
Emily Finn
Well, that's allowed.
Brian Glenn
Yeah.
Dr. Gina
Yeah. It's kind of a tough argument, isn't it, to say we shouldn't spend money celebrating all that is America? I mean, I'm not one for spending on just about anything right now. Until we get our deficit worked out.
David Brody
I gotcha.
Dr. Gina
And the. And really, the budget balanced and things that matter to Americans, I got you. But I will say I. I think this will be something that could. Could end up actually being profitable. Might be a little bit like the tariffs argument. Brian, Glenn, what a pleasure to have you with us for this whole hour.
Brian Glenn
Can we hug it out again?
Dr. Gina
Hug it out again. Hugs of 2026, everybody. Listen, you guys have a safe first weekend of this new year. And guess what? War room is up next. You won't want to miss that. Hug your children, love of God, go boldly now into 2026. We'll see. This is an I heart podcast. Guaranteed human.
Theme & Purpose:
Kicking off 2026, the hosts of American Sunrise examine how America is emerging from the holidays into a new year with shifting dynamics in politics, culture, media, and civic life. With a particular focus on the “power reset” in both Washington and Main Street, they tackle MAGA unity, looming midterm elections, the status of America First policies, global and domestic challenges, and the evolving battle for cultural influence. The tone is energetic, patriotic, and sharply critical of “woke” governance, echoing the network’s motto: “Real News, Honest Views.”
MAGA Unity Under Scrutiny:
“We can have different opinions, but we collectively agree that being a Republican and having America First, Trump, America First policies are what’s best for this country.” – Brian Glenn (10:31)
Trump’s 2026 Strategy:
Return to "Norman Rockwell's America":
“People want a return to normal. ... They want to return to Norman Rockwell’s America.” – Robert Charles (52:38)
Accountability and the need for politicians to “work for us”—not the other way around—is a repeated concern (54:02).
Rising Terrorism:
“You can say that both [cartels and terrorists] can be true…they are weapons of mass destruction, however you want to use it.” – Armin Kurdian (20:03)
Kurdian decries California’s political climate as enabling for cartel activity, blaming progressive governance and poor Republican organization (21:51-23:24).
Republican Electoral Strategies:
Media Winners and Losers:
“The internet is a net positive... people have access to greater sources of information at their fingertips. It’s the great equalizer.” – Curtis Hauck (35:21-36:36)
DEI Backlash:
“I am so excited about this. … I do believe in equalizing the field that they have corrupted.” (41:57)
Hollywood & Entertainment:
“God’s miracles are His business cards … so the maximum number of people would be there to witness and to be inspired.” (43:52-47:37)

Joking references to “draining the swamp” with the Clintons, Soros, and Brennan as top targets. Cautious, even pessimistic acknowledgment among hosts that accountability may never come (62:09-65:51).
“Spill Some Tea” Segment:
Hosts lampoon The View, Robert De Niro, and Jimmy Kimmel for perpetually stoking anti-Trump hysteria:
“If outrage were ratings, they would be number one.” – Emily Finn (90:38-92:13)
Celebratory Patriotism:
Wholehearted approval of massive government spending for America’s 250th birthday, delivered with cheeky sarcasm about wasteful foreign aid (93:03-94:38).
This episode provides a broad, unapologetically conservative take on the issues defining 2026: electoral strategy, media polarization, cultural pushback, and American identity. With a mix of policy analysis, faith-based reflection, and opinionated punditry, the hosts invite their audience to engage, stay vigilant, and push for a return to traditional values—while looking forward to a patriotic milestone year for the nation.
