CPAC 2026 is underway and American Sunrises on the ground for all of it. We've got coverage throughout the show and the next few days right here on RAV Plus. Iran is rejecting President Trump's 15 point cease fire plan and instead demanding reparations and control of the Strait of hor moves. Yeah, folks, we're all shaking our heads about that one. We'll discuss though, and later, a deal to fund DHS is stuck in limbo. Democrats want tougher ICE restrictions while Republicans say they've already given more than enough ground. In the meantime, TSA workers are stuck in the middle and still not getting paid more. Coming your way right now on American Sunrise.

So good to have you along for American Sunrise on this Thursday morning. We are live from tbac. I'm Terrence Bates. This is Emily Rose. She is in this morning for Dr. Gina. Dr. Gina, get better. We hope you feel better. She's under the weather a little bit. David Brody right there. Good to see you. So look, let me just start with this story. I was kind of telling you about this. So this morning as I was coming through the lobby, I see this figure kind of in the dark taking a picture.
David Brody
Oh, gosh.
Terrence Bates
And so it was David. And so I just jumped in front of his picture and his face, it was a face of disgust until he was like teammates, how are you? It was so funny.
David Brody
Yeah.
Terrence Bates
A great moment for, to start off cpac.
David Brody
It was my diva moment. You know, if I'm with a camera and I'm just like, oh, you caught me.
Emily Finn
Yeah. We had to get a selfie of all of us here today and we'll have to send it to Gina, too. We are wishing her well.
Jim McLaughlin
Yeah.
Emily Finn
Hope you're feeling better, Gina. But yeah, we were saying yesterday, I'm so excited to be here in person with you, David, and you, Terence What a fun, fun time here at CBS.
Terrence Bates
Yes, very busy couple of days. Of course, CPAC 2026 got underway yesterday. Here's the theme folks, where conservatives unite and ignite the movement. This obviously is a key year in the United States due to the midterms. I want to talk about what you expect, but I really like the theme because as I was mentioning to both of you yesterday at the end of our show, there are so many people from around the world here. This isn't just a US Conference, it truly is a global conference. And so to hear from conservatives, even from other countries and how they've been influenced by maga, influenced by the America first agenda. I'm really curious to hear that, David.
David Brody
Yeah, you know, look, you know what is the mood exactly of the CPAC gathering? The conservative movement if you will really if you think about it, the populist, the conservative populist movement, some real, I call them concerns, whatever you want but there's a lot of potential divisions. I'm not going to, we're not going to be CNN here and say doom and gloom all the way but are some things that need to be addressed and you just want the Iran war about some of the far right anti Semitism, the Tucker Carlson stuff invited. We'll have to find out about that. So, so you know it's great to have those discussions Emily, but what's going to be interesting to me, you're going to have Steve Bannon on the stage, woo hoo. Ted Cruz on the stage, the anti Steve Bannon if you will. So you know, I'm curious what the crowd's reaction on stage to both of those speeches is going to be like, like absolutely.
Emily Finn
And this is the place to have those conversations, to really come together and have those chats. And I will say as the Gen Z girl on this panel here today, I don't even think it's potential for some divisions or for some, some differences within the party right now. You see it on X, you see that there is definitely some conversations that need to be had. So this is the place to do it. Terrance, I think CPAC is going to be very exciting this year.
Terrence Bates
No, absolutely. And I'm going to be glass half full having conversations, having discussions in a sense civil way is healthy. It's a way to move forward. And so that's what I hope comes out of this CPAC conferences that we have civil discussions and find common ground. And if we can't find common ground, at least we find a way to move forward.
David Brody
And just a Quick asterisk on all this. Emily, your voice is always very important, but as a Gen Z voice, I mean that, that gives it even extra heft. And I think it's important because that is a big time storyline here.
Emily Finn
I appreciate that you saying that, David. If my voice is that important, then I want to say Jesus.
Cancer Survivor Advocate
Jesus.
Emily Finn
Jesus. So let's check out today's Bible verse.
David Brody
Nice transition. That's the best transition I've ever seen.
Emily Finn
This comes from Isaiah, chapter 4, verse 31. And it reads, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint. A great, great Bible verse to start out the day.
Terrence Bates
That was so good. Shunny between all these grandfathers. So good to see you.
David Brody
You got to take my medication.
Emily Finn
Hilarious.
Lance Wall
Hilarious.
Gordon Chang
All right.
David Brody
Okay, well, let's bring in our first guest, shall we? The president and partner of McLaughlin and Associates. I know you, you're Jim McLaughlin. Hey, Jim. Great to have you.
Jim McLaughlin
Oh, it's even better to be here.
Gordon Chang
Yeah.
David Brody
Well, let's talk about it. The mood at cpac. I guess we're gonna find out over the next couple days about where the conservative movement is. You poll for a living so you'll give us some sense of what's happening. But let's not sugarcoat it. I mean, there's some things here, not that you're going to sugarcoat it, but there are some things here that conservatives are going to have to kind of wade through in the next few days.
Jim McLaughlin
No, you know what the crazy part about this is? Donald Trump still has a base that I have never seen before. Yeah, I've been doing this stuff. I'm way older than Gen Z. As my kids and their friends like Boomer, who. They'll call me Boomer all the time. But I was polling and I was working for my old boss, Arthur Finkelstein back during the Reagan days. And as popular as Ronald Reagan was back in those days, Donald Trump is even more popular with the base. Let's. I'll give you an example. Forget my numbers where I have 95% plus of MAGA. Republicans are telling you they approve of the job President Trump is. Is doing. It's over 8% strongly approve of the job he's doing. CNN, CNN of all people is out there saying there was 100% approval when it came to the Iran military conflict because they get it. Because Donald Trump has earned their trust. And look, I get it. There are voices out there. I don't know what, what's happened to some people, people like Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, but they are a small, loud minority. I think a lot of them are doing it for clicks and they're doing it just for media attention. But the rank and file conservative base is behind Donald Trump and their agenda.
Terrence Bates
You know, as you say, that MAGA is so strongly behind President Trump, it seems to me that President Trump is maga. He still defines it. No matter what you, you want to say, no matter how you want to argue it, he still defines maga.
Jim McLaughlin
And you know what defines it? Donald Trump's successes. Because look, we look at this and the reason why, look, after Republicans had lost in the past, whether it was John McCain or whether it was Mitt Romney or the Bushes, the Republican Party, the conservative base moved on.
Brian Glenn
Okay?
Jim McLaughlin
They did not move on after January of 21. Because why? Because they knew Donald Trump had a successful presidency. They knew he left us within. We didn't even know what inflation was last time Donald Trump left office. And now he was left with all these open borders. He was left with, you know, ramp inflation is all over the place. We were left with a mess across the world. And everybody forgets, everybody's talking about Iran right now. But before Iran, how many military conflicts did he basically solve?
David Brody
8.
Jim McLaughlin
He brought eight to eight military conflicts, not to mention, what was it he brought back his hundredth basically detainee prisoner from these other countries the other day, which the mainstream media gives him no credit for for. So he's got a ton of work to do. We still got a ton of work to do. But the base understands what he's doing and he's earned their trust.
Emily Finn
Absolutely. And as you said, you definitely see that in the poll numbers. We do have some polls from McClellan and associates that I do want to bring up here. This one is about the Save America act and the talking filibuster strategy. 65% of Americans support the Save America Act. That's according to this poll. Tell us a little bit further about that.
Jim McLaughlin
And that's by the way, when we test the Save America act, just tell them about it. What are some of the things that it does. But when you test some of the specifics in there, like voter ID, it's 85% plus that want voter ID. It's around 85% that say, okay, only Americans should be voting in American elections. So the support there is overwhelmingly. And by the way, when it comes to things like voter ID amongst, among Democrats, among black voters, among Hispanics, it's 70% plus, with all those different groups, I mean, it's just common sense to most people. The only people that are out of touch are the Democrats in the Senate and in Congress.
Terrence Bates
So you have to actually explain, though, what all is in that Save America act when you're polling. So most people don't realize that there are attachments for no women and no girl, no men and girls, sports and that kind of thing. You have to lay all of that out to your.
Jim McLaughlin
And when you, when you tell them that they still support it overwhelmingly. Look, it's tough to get 2/3 of Americans to agree on anything with this polarized electorate, polarized society we have. So. But the fact that they agree with that, by the way, Gen Zers, Gen Xs, they agree with it overwhelmingly. And I'll tell you something, I tell people this all the time. We owe Donald Trump's presidency, we owe Republicans controlling the Senate, the Republicans controlling House, to younger people who we did significantly better. They got crushed by inflation. That was always their number one issue. And we also owe it to black and brown people because they came out and gave record numbers of support to President Trump. Among Hispanic voters, Republicans won over overwhelmingly important states like Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Florida. One of the reasons why Florida is flipped to more Republican is because of the Hispanic voters there.
David Brody
Hey, Jim, 30 seconds or so. But the, the midterm map, if you will, give us the lay of the land. What's your spidey sense here? I mean, the way I see it, there's about 18 it could be, give or take or so. 18 toss up races in the House. Yeah, many of them are controlled right now by Republicans. There's only a few that Democrats control.
Gordon Chang
So.
David Brody
So this is challenging for Republicans in the House. The Senate seems a little better, I think about three toss up states. Michigan, Maine and North Carolina. So, so what's your sense about keeping the Senate in the House?
Jim McLaughlin
Look, I think the Senate, we should definitely keep it. And believe it or not, I think if things go right, we have a chance to actually pick up seats, not the least of which is John Ossoff in Georgia.
David Brody
That's true.
Jim McLaughlin
Georgia's a purple state. And I think we can get. He's crazy. He says one of the first things he wants to do when he gets elected. What does he want to do? Impeach Donald Trump. And then I think we also have a shot in New Hampshire because these Democrats, they're all bragging about voting against the one big beautiful bill. They supported the largest tax increase in American history. Anti tax state like New Hampshire. That's going to hurt the Democratic candidate.
Emily Finn
Okay, well, Jim, thank you so much for being with us. We appreciate you. Always the first guest of cpac. Very fun.
Jim McLaughlin
Thank you. I feel honored.

All right, Emily Finn, David here with me. I was going to come stand behind David's back as he was giving that intro, but I just couldn't get up fast enough because I'm not Gen Z. I'm old like David. So like between here and my knees. Yeah, it just didn't work. So look, guys, there's a new AP NORC poll out that finds that there's growing skepticism among Americans about U.S. military action in Iran. About 59% of respondents say the response has gone too far. The survey also finds broad concern about the risk of escalation, with many worried that the conflict could spread across the region. Americans also express unease about long term consequences, including the potential for a prolonged war, as well as its impact on global stability. So, Emily, David, let's talk a bit more about this because this truly is something that of course is of concern for many people. First of all, Emily, are you buying the numbers? But I think the second thing is, are some of the concerns that are raised in this particular poll fair in your estimation?
Emily Finn
Certainly I think they're fair. You know, I think the biggest thing that we've been talking about is like, if there is boots on the ground, that is where everything is going to change. So I think being able to, you know, I don't want to say stall, but definitely make sure that everything doesn't get more, more violent and more extreme. That that is the biggest concern that that is had. So, David, I certainly think that we need to be focused on this and this needs to be the top priority.
David Brody
Yeah, I think you're right. Boots on the ground changes everything. And so let's have a conversation next week on the show as to what's going to happen because we know the 82nd Airborne is going in a thousand troops or so, their army paratroopers, literally. And who knows what's next? So, so we don't know. So when you have that situation that That's a concern. Here's the other concern, that the timeline has always been what they said, three to four, four to six weeks or so. Listen, if we get into the eight weeks, 10 weeks, 12 weeks, not that we're talking about forever wars or endless wars, but people will feel that, especially with ground troops and when you put all of that together. So not just ground troops, but also the timing of all of this, I think you debates and I think we got some real issues.
Terrence Bates
That last point I think is critical. Yeah, boots on the ground for a lot of people is just a non starter. That, that goes without saying. But as this thing drags out, the longer it goes, no matter what the administration says about oh no endless wars, there's going to be a sense of feeling that this is becoming an endless war. So it's got to be a decisive win and it's got to be a quick, decisive win. Now quick is relative, particularly when it comes to war. You know, quick could really be six months and it's a decisive win, win. But when you get into that six month range, there are going to be a lot of Americans who feel uneasy about it, even though it's relatively quick. But the fact that it's gone on for however long the period is, is going to cause some unease, unfortunately. And so the reality is there is a timeline before you really start to get pushback.
David Brody
Yeah. And you wonder at some point, we know that the Israelis want regime change. The administration has not said that a stated goal is regime change. Of course, wink, wink, we all know they want it. Yeah, but they haven't stated that as a goal. But here's the reality. Are you going to really get rid of, quote, wackos, the cardboard ayatollah, and replace them with, wait for it, more wackos, you know, like jihadist wacko? So the answer clearly is not. And so you just wonder at some point how long this will go on. And I'm really concerned. You know, I've said that from the beginning that I thought this was going to be all in. The other part of this too is that President Trump has specifically said, we've won. You know, we, you know, we're winning. We can pull out any time. Okay, so then the question is, well, why don't you.
Terrence Bates
When's the time?
David Brody
Yeah, when's the time? And so, you know, what is complete victory? There's one thing to say victory. Another thing is complete victory. And I think that is going to get more consternation as we go forward.
Terrence Bates
And I'll just add before we wrap this up and get our first forecast, that the other outlying question right now is who is the administration talking with inside Iran? It's obviously not the current administration. They're talking with someone, but we're not getting a name. And while you've got to trust the president and the administration that they're talking with someone who's going to at least have interests that align with the United States, the lingering question is who is this person?
David Brody
Well, that's right.
Terrence Bates
Who are these people who are faction.
Emily Finn
Not a wacko, as you would say.
David Brody
Not a wacko. And that's a direct quote. You can quote me on that, Emily.
Terrence Bates
Yeah, absolutely. So, look, we'll continue to talk about all of this, unfortunately, for several more weeks.
David Brody
Yeah.
Terrence Bates
But hopefully it's sooner than later that this all ends. All right, let's switch things up a little bit, get a quick check of our forecast. Meteorologist Tracy Anthony standing by. She's actually in our Denver newsroom instead of in West Palm. Tracy, good morning to you.
Cancer Survivor Advocate
Good morning, Terrence. You know, we're all kind of playing hot potato with the studios kind of switching around the country. I know you guys are extremely, extremely hot. Hopefully you're gonna be inside most today. Do you have to go outside at all?
Terrence Bates
We're gonna be inside. Well, I don't, I can't speak for these two. I'm gonna be inside most of the day. It's hot outside.
Cancer Survivor Advocate
Yeah, you guys are. Yeah, you guys are gonna be close to 90 degrees. And this historic heat wave is just going to continue across most of the intermountain west and it's starting to stretch east now as it does so we are under critical fire danger across the Front Range. So this has been a very warm, dry area and we do have a cold front that's going to be running into some of this heat. It is going to spark some strong to severe thunderstorms. This is going to be some of the same areas that have already been hit with tornadoes just this month. So we've been upgraded to an enhanced risk. That's a level three out of five severe weather outlook. So bumping up there where we could have some powerful tornadoes and some very damaging hail. We're talking over an inch and a half in diameter. But this heat is sticking around Wichita, 95 degrees. Even the Windy City, Chicago, 72 degrees. So well above average for this time of year. I'm talking 30 degrees above average. But, Terrence, the weather pattern is going to be changing here this weekend. So I want to get some of those hometown forecasts because I think some of those hometowns are going to be impacted. It's going to impact most of us from coast to coast.
Terrence Bates
All right. We're looking forward to that, Tracy. We'll get your hometown forecast in our next hour. Good to see you. By the way, since I'm not at my desk, feel free to take my chair and be comfortable.
Emily Finn
Yes, yes, yes.
Terrence Bates
That's hilarious. All right, Tracy, we'll talk to you next hour. We're going to take a quick break here in a moment. But up next, as the Iran war rocks on, global energy markets are shocked. Emerging. There are new questions emerging about the global energy markets. Excuse me. Here's one of those questions. Does China's dependence on Gulf oil give Washington a fresh pressure point on Beijing? We'll have expert analysis coming your way right here on American Summit.

David Brody
Oh, let me get back to Prompter quickly. All right. Welcome back. Iran has rejected a 15 point Trump administration plan to end the war. That is not shocking. Saying it will keep fighting until its own conditions are met. Yeah. Okay. The U.S. proposal calls for Iran to roll back its nuclear program, accept limits on missiles, and face restrictions on its support for armed groups in exchange for sanctions relief. But Tehran is pushing a counter proposal that includes war reparations, whatever, and recognition of its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz. Yeah, like they're in a position to negotiate now. Let's bring in now the senior fellow for the Gatestone Institute. That would be Gordon Chang. Gordon, great to have you here.
Gordon Chang
Thanks, guys.
David Brody
So, you know, I want to ask you kind of overall about the war and how you think it's going, but specifically as it relates to China, how, how is this geopolitically playing out? And it seems to me that this is much broader than just winning a war against Iran. China is clearly in the headlights in the view here.
Gordon Chang
Yeah. China isn't enemy combatant. It's supplying everything to Iran except for combat soldiers. And so essentially, we need to treat them like we treat Iran. Now, President Trump can end this war fast. We're doing very well on the. On the war. But the point is, will President Trump ended fast? Because he's got a political problem right now, as you guys were just talking about with Jim, and the midterms are coming up fast.
Terrence Bates
So I want to bring your attention to this Fox News headline, which is basically talking about the upcoming meeting between President Trump and Xi. President President Xi. Here's the headline. Trump delays Xi meeting as Iran conflict Lets US strong arm China's oil supply. President Trump set to visit China May 14th and 15th. China, of course, and this is really the bigger issue, if you will, is the largest buyer of Iranian oil. So could Washington gain some leverage during this upcoming meeting? And is the delay of this meeting really with leverage in mind?
Gordon Chang
Yeah. The important point here is that if President Trump completely wins on the ground, which I think that he can, then he walks into Beijing as triumphant. And China certainly doesn't like that. The point that a lot of people don't talk about is that Iran is China's proxy. You know, Trump has taken Venezuela, another Chinese proxy, off the board. He's about to take down Cuba. And if it's Iran, it means that China has lost all its friends. It hasn't been able to do very much. Its weapons have been shown to the world to not work very well, and the Chinese have been shown to be impotent. So Trump can actually walk into the Chinese capital and say, I'm the victor, you're the loser.
Emily Finn
Yeah. Well, Gordon, I do want to touch on Taiwan with you as well. Taiwan is growing more concerned that China could try to exploit any US Distraction from the escalating Middle east war. Reuters reports officials in Taipei. Hey. Fear Beijing could step up military or political pressure if Washington's focus shifts away from Asia. So far, there is no sign of imminent action, but Taiwan is watching closely. Do you see China trying to make a move against Taiwan at this time?
Gordon Chang
No. And the reason is, yes, there is an opportunity that's created because we're taking military assets out of East Asia. We're moving them to the Middle East. But China is incapable. Xi Jinping, through his purges, has decimated the Chinese military at the top, which means it doesn't have leadership. Now, we know its weapons don't work well, and so I don't think they're really going to go after Taiwan, which is really, really hard for them to do. But the thing we have to worry about is that China is now pressuring the Philippines at places like 2nd Thomas Shoal and Sabina Shoal. The Chinese are swarming in there. You know, this could be the start of a big conflict. So it's not Taiwan. It's other places where China thinks it can get an advantage.
David Brody
Gordon, explain to our audience about the Belt and Road initiative. This is key to what China is trying to do here, in essence, whether it be Greenland or Panama, Venezuela, other places around the world, trying to, in essence, get infrastructure into those places, into those countries for, you know, some would say world domination, but, you know, there's clearly something going on there in terms of what they're trying to do to make inroads in certain countries around the globe.
Gordon Chang
It is world domination.
David Brody
Yes.
Gordon Chang
Xi Jinping believes that China should be considered the world's only sovereign state. Now, I know that's ludicrous, but that's what he's been pushing. Now, the idea behind Belt and Road is, as you say, it's the infrastructure that allows China to dominate societies that accept, for instance, Chinese ports. You know, this started out as a project in 2013. It started out as a project just to connect the eastern part of China to Europe. But now it spans the world and indeed the universe, because they've now got this space, polar space, Belt and Road. So really, what we're talking about is an attempt to completely wire up the world to China's advantage, to shut us out.
Terrence Bates
Even though there's not a current military conflict between the United States and China. I would. I think it would probably be foolish for most of us to think that China isn't doing something to put in place some sort of mechanism that would challenge the US in some sort of way. What is that? What's happening behind the scenes, particularly since the United States is to some degree spread thin with its focus so much right now on Iran and the situation between Russia and Ukraine.
Gordon Chang
The thing that I focus on is China's agents, networks, and soldiers in our country. You know, they've got biological weapons labs. We found one In Reedley, California, December 20, Las Vegas. SWAT went into that house in Las Vegas on January 31st of this year. From what we saw there, I think there's a second Chinese biological weapons lab. They got a lab. They had that depot in Las Vegas. They have to have another lab somewhere in this country, Terrence. And those drone flights this month over our military bases, four bases, including Barclays, which is a critical facility. We don't know what these guys are doing, but it's really dangerous. It looks like a warning to the United States that they can hit us
Terrence Bates
in the homeland that's frightening.
Emily Finn
That is right. That is something that I actually reported on extensively in Michigan and California. These CCP backed organizations buying up farmland with proximity to the military bases. What can the US do to stop these spying operations that are happening? As a gentleman person, the Confucian institutes on college campuses are the same. What can the US do more?
Gordon Chang
Yeah, what we have to do is sever the links with the Chinese regime. It's something that Americans don't want to do right now, but China uses every point of contact to take us down. So for instance, you know, you mentioned Confucius Institutes. They try to change the narrative on Chinese on American college campuses. Confucius classrooms in our secondary schools are about 500 of those. Plus also, you know, with this farmland, they've been trying to plant invasive species in our country. I think with sending seeds to Americans unsolicited with those researchers last year who were caught smuggling in agricultural pathogens, the roundworms and the fungus. This is an attempt to take down American agriculture, which means an attempt to starve Americans.
Terrence Bates
So we are at war. It may not be a military war, but we are absolutely.
Gordon Chang
China declared a people's war on us in May 2019. That phrase has great resonance in Communist party lingo. It's been defined by the Chinese military as total war. They've got the doctrine of unrestricted warfare. Last year, 48,000Americans died from fentanyl, which is a Communist party project. The year before that, 72,000. This is getting really serious because Americans are being killed.
David Brody
Gordon Chang, great to have you with us here at cpac.
Gordon Chang
It's great to be here and thank you so much, guys.
David Brody
Good to see you in person. All right, we've got a lot more coming up here from CPAC, including new research that takes a look at whether repurposed drugs like Ivermectin, for example, could help open new avenues in cancer research. Could existing low cost medicines help scientists identify new treatment strategies? Those facts on American Sunrise, Live from CPAC after the break.

Welcome back everyone. We are live at CPAC 2026 in Dallas, Texas. Actually, we're in Grapevine, Texas. I've been looking for grapes. I ain't seen not one grape since I've been here. But we are in Grapevine, Texas. Welcome back to American Sunrise, everyone. We appreciate you joining us. Emily Finn, David Brody, Texas, you hear that the Texans are up bright and early? Dr. Gina Feeling under the weather this morning but we are wishing her all the best. It's now time for today's health News sponsored by the Wellness this company under the microscope. Today, a new paper in the Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine is drawing attention to several anti parasitic drugs as possible tools in cancer research. Along with ivermectin, the authors highlight benzimidazole drugs like mebendazole and fenbendazole, citing lab, animal and early human case evidence suggesting that they may help disrupt tuberculosis growth, trigger cancer cell death, as well as block key metabolic pathways and target cancer stem cells linked to spread and recurrence. Dr. Gina if you're awake and you're watching, we're gonna have to have a conversation when you get back. The fact that I had to sit in and read those words, goodness gracious.
Emily Finn
Wow, he really is Dr. Terrence I'm

All right, David, I'm going to go somewhere in and inhale and exhale after having to read all those tough words. But we made it through.
David Brody
You did a great job. I typically stick with one syllable words,
Terrence Bates
so I need to start sticking with one syllable words after that one.
David Brody
Way to go. All right, let's talk about Senate Democrats, guys. They've rejected Republicans latest offer. What a Shock to reopen the Department of Homeland Security even as GOP senators argued that the plan gives Democrats much of what they previously asked for. These folks just won't give it up. The framework would fund most of DHS while carving out ICE enforcement and removal operations. But Democrats led by Chuckie Schumer say any deal must include significant new reforms to ICE and DHS operations before they agree to end the shutdown. All right, well, President Trump is actually blaming Democrats for the ongoing DHS shutdown. Take a look. Now, the Democrats have shut down the Department of Homeland Security in an attempt to return to open borders where criminals come in from all over the world. From the Congo they come. You know, the Congo opened its jails,
Gordon Chang
released all of its prisoners into the
David Brody
United States of America through the totally open southern border, sleepy Joe Biden border. The TSA agents have been hurt badly by the Democrats who made three different deals with us over the last short
Terrence Bates
period, period of time, breaking the original one and then breaking the current ones
David Brody
because they don't want to settle. They want chaos, as I said.
Gordon Chang
So there are great military triumphs against
David Brody
Iran can't be displayed on television because they're displaying airports. All right, let's bring in the host of Firewall here Sundays on rad. That would be Lance Wall now. Lance, great to see you.
Lance Wall
Good to see you, brother.
Jim McLaughlin
Good to be be with you.
David Brody
Well, listen, we're talking politics, but faith and politics really kind of go hand in hand a lot of times. What's going on here with this DHS funding because to me that you can chalk it up to a bit of spiritual warfare.
Lance Wall
Well, the part to me, I can understand this and I'm listening to all the segments you guys are doing. How can the country be indifferent when a party is intentionally sabotaging its transportation, its convenience? You would think, wouldn't you, that everyone flying would develop a really animosity towards Democrats that are subjecting them to the, to two hour delays. All of the TSA agents who are union folks are lose, don't have an income. They've been this way for 40 days. And when, when, when the president comes up with a solution like, well, we're going to send ICE or we're going to send support in, then the Democrats pivot on that and say, watch out, they'll start shooting you and kill, killing you. But every airport that they're in is actually operating properly. At what point did the facts actually develop a pattern of influence with the populace? That's the part that amazes me. I think it's because of this. If it wasn't for you, where would the voice be that would be pointing this stuff out? Because the control of the narrative is far more powerful than we realize when media interprets for people what things mean.
Terrence Bates
You know, I think this is a time in which we can all really practice our faith. The idea of doing unto others as you would want others to do under you comes to mind, particularly as it relates to these TSA agents. And while, yes, as a community, we probably all need to chip in to try to help them, I think we also need to project that onto our lawmakers and say, look, you were putting people's lives at risk in all of this. Do unto your neighbor as you want your neighbor to do unto you. I think that is a salient message that we need to continue to push for our lawmakers.
Lance Wall
Yeah, you would think that would work. But back to your point, I think that part of the spiritual warfare America is in is it is an incredibly, I hate to say this because I'm one of us. We are an incredibly spoiled nation. I mean, we don't want a nuclear Iran because it's inconvenient to have nuclear bombs drop on you at breakfast, but we don't want it done too long because midterms are coming up and it makes us nervous. We want a war that can be done quickly and expeditiously, but we don't want anyone to die. That's not what we're we're doing. So I think we're a country that is that if it doesn't have some kind of a great awakening, it's going to have a rude awakening and it's going to show up. Our economic system is floating on a bubble. Trump has pulled a rabbit out of a hat bringing in fusion of capital in. But if you listen to the guys that are in the know on Rav on Bannon show, different people, capital markets guys. It's fragile. And so we ought to be praying every day that Donald Trump is able to succeed in what he's doing because I don't know what's going to happen when he hands the baton off.
Emily Finn
Great, great point, Great point. You know, I do want to talk to you about this as well. Trump administration officials are moving to allow nations wide summer sales of E15, a higher ethanol gasoline blend that is usually restricted during the summer driving season. The administration says the waiver would expand fuel supplies, give drivers more options at the pump, and provide a boost to corn growers and biofuel producers. So how important of an issue will gas prices be during this midterm election?
Lance Wall
That's my point. That's exactly my point. We're discussing the possibility that there might have be to be ethanol or corn, some other fuel. It's inconvenient. We don't want that. So gas right now is between five and six dollars in California. It's four dollars nationally. Three something three dollars. 75 nationally. We ought to be able to endure the momentary inconvenience at the pump to figure out If Iran has 400 kg of enriched plutonium that can go into 10 warheads, which could be distributed to Hezbollah or another terror network with at least 10 million unidentified people in the country that are part of a back channel for everything. I think it's worth a few cents at the pump to sort that out.
Terrence Bates
Sell that to my 17 year old who went to the pump the other day after earning 20 bucks and she came home and said, dad, that didn't do anything. And I was like, welcome to adulthood, kid. Welcome to adulthood. But you're right, sometimes, sometimes what is inconvenient, you have to look at the bigger picture and think of what you're really trying to achieve. I think that's a great point. Go ahead.
Lance Wall
And there's the, listen, there's, and, and this is the challenge. So in our coming up with midterms, here's the challenge. We've got Christians probably are the, my, I look at the evangelical people because they're 50% of Trump's MAGA base. They are Napoleon's old guard. There's what, they're, they're what defies the, the media because they just don't listen to them. They're listening to you. And here's our challenge. 13 million of them aren't going to be voting in the midterms that voted presidential. That's maddening. That's my group, that's my backyard. It's like, guys, you don't recognize the, you know, the threat that we're under. 5.2 million are going to make a difference. If we can target the 5.2 million, just 5.2 in about 20 or 30 key districts, we can actually win the midterms. So the game is on. And my focus is on where are the believers that say we need a greater way of getting more praying and spiritual. We use the language. But those of you that really know that we're really balancing on the edge of a knife as a nation, I think if we can find those 5.2 million in 20 and I think we can do it.
David Brody
Yeah, this idea that God is in control. Yeah, God is in control and he also gives us free will. So let's also remember that.
Terrence Bates
All right, Lance, good to talk to you.
Lance Wall
Always good to see you guys.
Terrence Bates
God bless.
Emily Finn
Thanks for being here.
Lance Wall
Thanks for the medal.

All right, welcome back to American sunrise at CPAC 2026. It is time to stay awake, not woke. And who is woke today? London Mayor Sadiq Khan. Khan is urging labor to campaign on rejoining the European Union, saying an incredibly unstable world and Donald Trump in power in America make the move increasingly necessary. In an interview with Italy's La Republica, Khan said Labour should make returning to the EU a clear general election pledge, arguing the UK should not remain outside a major bloc. created the heaven and the earth. Welcome back to American Sunrise. We are live at CPAC 2026 in Dallas. Always good to have you along for the ride, Emily David Good to have you guys here as well. It's now time for our moment of faith brought to us by Lee Greenwood and the God Bless the USA Bible. In focus today. Faith here at cpac. Colorado Gubernatorial candidate and the founder and president of ATP Ministries, Victor Marks spoke at a roundtable here last night and touted the importance of of faith in politics. David
Welcome.

Good luck, first of all, with the candidacy. We'll talk more about that momentarily.
Patriotic Music Singer
Thank you.
Terrence Bates
But talk about how people can put their faith into practice when it comes to pushing their politicians, when it comes to their everyday lives, and how faith can guide their voting.
Patriotic Music Singer
Well, I think for far too long, the church has been quiet regarding matters, matters of morality, a code that we live by as Christians, and we just kind of separate them from politics. You can't do that anymore when our state is trying to pass a law to legalize prostitution. Christians are waking up when girls can come in from out of state, get a full term abortion, even a late abortion, and taxpayers pay for it, and then she goes home without her parents even knowing. That's where we have to stop and go. What are we doing with our faith in this battlefield of politics?
Terrence Bates
Absolutely.
David Brody
Victor, you have a remarkable story and I'm curious if you could maybe give us a bit of the Reader's Digest version of the story. But what you want our audience to hear from everything from abuse when you were younger, drugs, fighting and stealing so much, giving your life over to Christ. And boy, what a difference that has made.
Patriotic Music Singer
Well, you know, my father didn't claim me when he got my mom pregnant. He shoved rosary beads down her throat, put a pistol to her head. My mother would end up marrying six times. I went to 14 schools and live in 17 different houses. So, yeah, I started drugs. I struggled with identity until I joined the Marine Corps and right out of high school. And then I realized as I was searching for manhood, you know, what does it take to be a man? You got to be able to hold your liquor, fight and chase skirt. The problem with that is I found women that could do that better than me in the Marine Corps. So I'm like, well, that doesn't work. And it wasn't until my biological dad came back into my life, claimed responsibility for the lack of a dad that he was. And then he took me to church because end up he became born again at like 50 years old. That's when I came to faith. And that's when I learned to find my identity in Christ and get on that path. Not living according to the labels people would put on me because, Look, I had 123 visits to a trauma specialist because one of my stepfathers was a pedophile and he abused me severely. I was tortured and left for dead in a cooler as a kid.
Emily Finn
Kid.

how to make hosting look effortless Here's a secret. Getting ahead of the mess with new Reynolds Kitchens countertop prep paper. Just lightly wet the counter beforehand so the paper grips and stays in place. Then lay down the Reynolds Kitchens countertop prep paper so drips and spills stay on the paper, not all over your kitchen counter. You can roll out dough, prep a party spread, or cook alongside family. When you're done, cleanup is as simple as lifting the paper and revealing that clean counter underneath. Effortless. You can use it for cooking and baking, prep and even crafting, especially when you need extra working space. Because when the mess is already handled, you can focus on what matters, the food, the people, and the moment. It may look effortless, but now you know it's Reynolds Kitchens countertop prep paper. Take a tip from me. Wet it, set it, prep it, done. Make it easy. Make it with Reynolds Kitchens countertop prep paper, available now in the Reynolds wrap aisle in Walmart.

Coming up on this second hour of American Sunrise live at CPAC 2026, Iranian authorities reject President Trump's 15 point peace plan and instead issue their own list of demands. We'll talk about Tehran's counter proposal straight ahead. Plus, Israeli officials are reporting the killing of a naval commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guard. All of this comes as US And Israeli forces ramp up pressure for control over the Strait of Hormuz. We'll talk about the impact coming up in this second hour. Also ahead, President Trump and the Republican National Committee had their sights set on Dallas as a potential location for a first ever midterm convention ahead of this year's November elections. Well, folks, here's the spoiler. We're already in Dallas for cpac and we're doing a bit of ground recap here. Waffle House, here we come after the show. Those stories and so much more ahead on this second hour of American Sunrise. It starts right now.
David Brody
Good morning America.
Emily Finn
Welcome to American Sunrise.
Terrence Bates
Whether it's culture, we have breaking news
Cancer Survivor Advocate
to share with you.
Terrence Bates
Politics.
David Brody
President Trump is joining us live now from Florida.
Terrence Bates
We've got you covered.
David Brody
This is what it looks like to be a patriot.
Terrence Bates
We have to protect the American family.
Cancer Survivor Advocate
The American dream is still alive.
David Brody
I'm David Brody.
Terrence Bates
I'm terrence.
Cancer Survivor Advocate
And I'm Dr. Gina.
David Brody
All right, welcome back, everybody, to the second hour of American Sunrise. I'm David Brody. We are at CPAC 2026 in Dallas, Texas. Okay. Grapevine, Texas. Sis, I got it. Emily Finn filling in for Dr. G and T. Bates. Not Dr. T, Mr. T. Mr. TDU.
Terrence Bates
I pity the fool.
David Brody
Yeah, I bet you pity the fool. It's good to see you both this morning.
Emily Finn
Yeah, great to be here. Great to be here. You know, I think you became a doctor after reading about all those drugs in the last hour.
Terrence Bates
I think I need a doctor after that. I think I'm still traumatized by having to read those multi syllabic words there. Look, CPAC 2026 is going to be a blast. It's really just kind of getting underway. Today will be the big day, but there are so many issues to discuss and I think that's what I cherish most about this, is that it's going to be an opportunity for people of different mind mindsets and different opinions to get together. And I'm really hopeful that there will be civil discussions and that we'll find a way to move forward. That's, that's what I'm hoping we ultimately get from this weekend.
David Brody
And I'm looking at that age divide. Emily, we talked about, about it at the top of the first hour. I mean, I think if you just go up to, oh, dare I say people over 50, hello. You know, you'll, you'll get the pro Israel, kind of like the, you know, we're all in for the war. You talk to people 30 and under and it's a whole different ball game. And I say a whole different ball game. That's my question today. Today or this weekend, what is the different ball game? In other words, how much of the Gen Z are off this reservation or are we overstating it?
Terrence Bates
Are we over?
David Brody
I'm, I definitely think there's an issue there. No doubt about it. But is it like how much of the Gen Z is really, I don't say anti Israel, but not on board with where maybe folks that are 50 plus are with the agenda. I don't know the answer to that. We've seen polling, but I don't know.
Emily Finn
Yeah, and we've seen social media posts as well. And so it's interesting and I think that those conversations are certainly being had.
David Brody
Absolutely.
Emily Finn
When you, you think about this war in general though, David, under 30, those are the people that would be the boots on the ground. And so they have a little bit more skin in the game just in those terms.
Terrence Bates
But I will even say, though, David, our age group and I'm with you, I'm in the over 50 crowd, I go to sleep feeling one way, wake up with knees and everything else ain wondering what I did overnight. But that's a whole nother story. I was talking to another gentleman who's in our age group and we're not monolithic about that because he was anti the war in Iran and he came up to me and we were having this conversation this year. He said, you know what, like I don't necessarily want to bring this up because I don't know the reaction. He said, but I'm not necessarily for this war. I'm not necessarily a proponent. And so it's going to be interesting to see how those conversations develop. And again, I want to encourage everyone to have a civil conversation. Even if you disagree, we can agree to disagree, but we have to find common ground in terms of moving the country forward. That to me is critical.
Gordon Chang
And I don't want to say this
David Brody
is a different version version of President Trump because that would suggest that he's someone that he's not. That's not true. But we're seeing different things this time around in this second term. Right. This is Monroe Doctrine on steroids. I mean, we're seeing, you know, everything from, you know, he wants to take, if it were up to him, he'd take Greenland or at least we would have much more of a presence there in Greenland, Venezuela, we saw what happened there. We get a sense that Cuba may be next. We see what's going on with Iran. We didn't see really any of this in the first term. And I think that is, I think legitimate cause for concern, especially for folks that are younger.
Emily Finn
I think it's because he doesn't have to worry about re election this time.
David Brody
Interesting.
Emily Finn
Yeah.
David
So you know what?
Terrence Bates
Hold that thought because we can take that question and talk about that a little bit with Brian Glenn. He's coming up, our chief White House correspondent. He'll join us momentarily.
David Brody
I could hold the thought, but I might forget the thought. No trust.
Terrence Bates
That's why I told you to hold the thought because I definitely would forget it. Let's get a quick check of our forecast before we go to Brian Glenn, though Weather Nation meteorologist Tracy Anthony standing by. Tracy also has our hometown forecast. TT Good morning.
Cancer Survivor Advocate
Hey, you know what? Terrence, I found your chair. I want to know where the snacks are.
Casey Fleming
Check.
Terrence Bates
Check my bottom drawer. I may have eaten all of them, but I think there is still some, some syrup in there. Don't ask me why I've got syrup in my bottom drawer, but to have syrup in my bottom drawer, I know, completely random, but there is syrup in my bottom drawer.
Emily Finn
That's a snack review. Tracy.
Philip Patrick
That's right.
Cancer Survivor Advocate
Right. Everything tastes good with more sugar. Just add it on, you know.
Terrence Bates
Yeah, for sure, for sure. All right, let's get to our hoped out forecast. Tracy.
Cancer Survivor Advocate
Hey, we're starting out in San Antonio, Texas, where it's going to be warm. We're talking record heat once again. This coming in from Winnie on Getter. You are going to feel temperatures and in the 80s, close to 90 degrees the next couple of days. But as we go a little farther to the north, this is where you're going to feel some big, big changes. This is for Ozark Papillon getter, 93 degrees today in Yellville, Arkansas, 62 by tomorrow. That's a cold front that's going to swing through. It's going to bring a little rain, a few isolated rumbles of thunder, but it's really going to be a shock to the system with that temperature swing. And if we go even farther to the north, Salem, Illinois, this coming in from JC 77 on rumble, 87 degrees today, 51 by tomorrow. And look at that overnight temperature dropping down below freezing. Now we'll be cooler and a little clearer for the weekend, but we're going to continue to swing those temperatures over the next couple of weeks. Terrence.
Terrence Bates
All right, Tracy, we appreciate it. Always good to see you. Enjoy my chair while I'm not there. Tracy Anthony reporting for us there. All right, we'll talk to you later on. Sorry, gotta move on real quickly. Want to bring in David and Emily here as we talk. Iran, that obviously is the big story.
Brian Glenn
David.
David Brody
Yeah, for sure. And let's get more about that. We're going to bring in Brian Glenn there at the White House. Brian, you're out there somewhere. You're not here in Grapevine, Texas. You're reading the tea leaves actually in Washington, D.C. there at the White House. Give us more. Brian, good morning. About the latest on the war, sir.
Brian Glenn
Yeah, good morning, guys. You're literally in my old backyard. I'm just up the 121 toll road up in McKinney. Beautiful part of Texas. Glad that you guys are there. A little bit later at 10 o', clock, a little bit in about an hour there was a cabinet meeting. I would imagine that this topic will come up, it will dominate probably the conversation in this cabinet meeting. Now in terms of agreeing to this 15 point plan, here's some of the details on that. It does call for a 30 day cease fire, also with the limits on the range and number of Iranian missiles that they can have. Also the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Now, as all of these talks are underway right now, we still have thousands of our military headed to that region to potentially and there hasn't been any confirmation on that, but will we see boots on the ground to secure that island that is so critical to the Strait of Hormuz in terms of oil coming in and out of that area? That will likely unfold here in the next two weeks. I was talking to a colleague of mine who was describing kind of the timeline that it would take for these naval vessels to get in. That reason you're looking at around April 15, April 16 timeline when those Navy ships will be in that area. So perhaps that will give us a better idea if we do see boots on the ground during at that point. But as far as the war in general, I do like the conversation Emily and David that you guys were having in terms of who supports this war. Now it's been no secret that I have not originally been a big fan of getting into any war and that's, you know, that's not a secret. But I will say this. Now that we're in this escalation, I want us to do our best to win and defeat the Iranian terror regime. I'm all about that. I think you see a lot of people that feel the same way I do. I'm 55 years old and you would think I would lean towards kind of the pro war stance and I'm not necessarily in that camp. But Emily, you bring up a great point. The people that are pushing back on the war are the ones that would potentially be the boots eventually on the ground for a war. So what a great dialogue that you guys are having at cpac. We'll learn more about this in today's Cabinet meeting. I would imagine that kicks off at 10 o' clock here local time. David.
Terrence Bates
Hey, Brian. So I want to talk a bit about the, this Iranian counter proposal. And the one thing that sticks out above all others is reparations. Yes, Iran is calling for reparations. When I saw that, I literally LOL'd. I literally laughed out loud. I would imagine that that's going to come up at the cabinet meeting. And I suspect there will be some laugh out louds as well.
Brian Glenn
Yeah, I imagine that one of those laughs might come from me as well in that room. That is one of the most important ridiculous things I think I've read in a while. Don't think that's going to play out. But yeah, that you bring up a great point. You got to insert some comedy in there I guess somewhere. And I guess that's, that's it
Terrence Bates
for sure.
Emily Finn
Brian, we do want to move on to another topic here. President Trump is calling on Congress to extend FISA section 702. In a truth social post, the president wrote, quote, when used properly, FISA is an effective tool to keep Americans safe. For these reasons, I have called for a clean 18 month extension. However, the critical and common sense reforms that were made in the last reauthorization of FISA must remain intact to protect the American people from abuses. Brian, what more can you tell us about the White House's plans here?
Brian Glenn
Yeah, President Trump pushing for that 18 month extension. I think that from a standpoint of making sure we keep America safe, that is a crucial part of that. Now, if you notice, he did push out a true statement about 45 minutes ago saying that Chuck Schumer would take a deal if he knew that the Republicans would not waive the filibuster. Now he feels like the that President Trump says I wish the Republicans would get rid of the filibuster and get some of this stuff done. I think the majority of Americans feel that way. But to kind of shift the topic just real quickly in terms of getting this deal done and getting these TSA workers, DHS funded, it's going to take a lot of, let's just say you've got to be able to command and take control of the, the power that you have. And we're seeing Senate Republicans completely fail the American people. They're failing President Trump. Thune is a weak leader. He needs to listen to President Trump, get rid of this filibuster and get this stuff funded. Not only this funded, Emily, but get all these other things that President Trump has had on his agenda. The executive orders that need to be codified into law simply stop at the Senate. So we'll see how that plays out here in the next, next coming weeks. As many Americans, as you probably, probably know, flying into Dallas and DFW is one of the worst airports in the country in terms of some of the TSA congestion. We'll see how that plays out and how that weighs on Senate Republicans.
David Brody
Ryan Glenn, great to have you from Washington. Wish you were here in Grapevine, but I know you'd love to just be in the swamp. I know you just love the swamp so much, Brian.
Brian Glenn
You know, I will say this. If we could whip the camera around real quickly. I want to point out the front lawn of the White House. And I would describe the grass right now as being a spring green, just a vibrant green. Spring is here at the White House. Beautiful day here on tap, but there's nothing like North Texas. And you guys are at Grapevine, Texas. Christmas capital of Texas. Got to check out Main Street. I felt like I worked for the CVB Grapevine, Texas. I don't. I just very familiar with that great city that you guys are in. So have a great CPAC and go get you some nice Texas barbecue. Hard eight. I'd highly suggest Heartache Pecan Lodge down
Terrence Bates
in Deep Element Texas barbecue. I lived in Memphis for too many years.
David Brody
Oh gosh. Don't say it here.
Terrence Bates
Don't say. Yeah, I probably shouldn't say, but go ahead, Brian.
David
You're right.
Brian Glenn
You're fighting.
Terrence Bates
You know, I might not make it out of Texas alive. I know it. I might not make it out alive. Good to see you, Brian.
David Brody
Thanks. Brian.
Brian Glenn
Yes, sir.

All right. Welcome back to American Sunrise live at CPAC 2026. Now think about this. In 2006, $20,000 equaled roughly 33 ounces of gold at spot price. At today's prices, those 33 ounces would be worth about $165,000. Smart Americans diversify a portion of their savings into precious metals. And that's why you need to consider buying gold from my friends at Birch Gold Gold Group. For thousands of years, gold has been a store of wealth. And today it's a crucial part of any balanced strategy. Even better, Birchgold, who is one of our CPAC sponsors, can help you convert an existing IRA or 401k into a tax sheltered retirement account in gold. Just text America to the number 9898. 98. To receive your free info kit on gold. There's no obligation, just useful information with an A With the Better Business Bureau and tens of thousands of happy customers, let Birchgold help you diversify with gold. Now that is peace of mind. Again, make sure to text America to 9,898 98. Text that number today. All right, for more, we do want to bring in precious metals specialist Philip Patrick. Phillip, I am so excited to see you here in person. At cpac, we talk all the time, just over zoom. But this is fantastic. You know, we've got this conflict in the Middle east, oil prices are rising, a lot of uncertainty globally, but gold has been falling. If gold is supposed to be the safe haven, why has it been falling lately? Break this down for us.
Philip Patrick
That's a great question and really good to meet you as well. Look, it's a complicated one. What we're seeing at the moment is a lot of uncertainty globally and there is a flight to cash. So people are moving to the US Dollar. It's still the best short term holder value. Interestingly, government debt, borrowing rates have been increasing, which means people aren't looking at the dollar as a long term store of wealth. So I think this is a short term move and it's not uncommon when it comes to gold prices, we saw the Same thing in 2008, a dip before it went on to double in value. Same thing happened in Covid as well. So I think ultimately this is a buying opportunity for people out there. The fundamentals haven't changed at all.
Emily Finn
You always have the best advice with all of that, Philip. So oil prices, they're rising because of the conflict in Iran as well. What does that mean for everyday Americans?
Philip Patrick
It's a big one.
Brian Glenn
Oil.
Philip Patrick
We think of gas at the pump and off. Obviously it's a big one for everyone here. But it is the most inflationary commodity. It drives the price of transportation, manufacturing. So it's very inflationary. It also leads to a slowdown in the economy as well. So it's a very unique commodity in that respect. It creates a stagflationary climate, which is very problematic for the Fed, which is why they're in a bit of a tailspin at the moment.
Emily Finn
Bit of a tailspin. All right. Well, at the same time, add to this tailspin, I suppose this is happening. The government just issued over 600 billion in new debt in a single week. Should people be paying attention to that right now?
Philip Patrick
I think so.
Patriotic Music Singer
Yes.
Philip Patrick
It is an astronomical amount of money. The administration are really trying to curb spending, but what they inherited was a very tough position, as we all know. If they can't ultimately get a handle on spending, it creates a big problem. It pushes borrowing costs, costs up and it makes the job just more difficult for the administration. So the hope is this thing irons out quickly and we revert to normal sooner rather than later.
Emily Finn
Yeah, sooner than later. So all of this going on, what would be your number one advice? What should people be doing to protect their savings?
Philip Patrick
Look, I obviously I'm here with Birch Gold Group, but precious metals in these climates, they work very well. We talk about the problems, it's rising debt levels, it's inflation. And precious metals are designed to protect purchasing power in this climate. You mentioned at the beginning of this segment how the purchasing power of our dollar had declined. But gold goes up in those same climates. So it's the best way in times like this for people to protect and to diversify. And I think that word is key here. Diversification.
Emily Finn
All right, Philip, Patrick, we show so appreciate you being here with us. Really excited to meet you today and thank you, thank you for giving us all of this information. All right, coming up, we are headed down to Wall street for the opening bell and insight into how to hold on to your hard earned dollars with some common sense. We'll be back with more American Sunrise in just two minutes. Stick around.

Welcome back, everyone. Terrence bates here at CPAC 2026. Don't forget to scan that QR code, folks. Go ahead and do that. Right now. We're getting ready for the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. It's set to ring here in just a few minutes. We are on the floor at CPAC 2026. So there's a lot going on. You may hear some folks talking even over us. There's also a Catholic service going on at the moment. I almost feel bad that I'm talking over it. I probably should be listening a little bit more, but that's why you can hear so much going on. Here's a quick look at our futures board. As you can see, up and down. And it's really been an up and down week when it comes to futures. The Dow, S P 500 and Nasdaq all down right now, really. The rest of the board down. The only thing that's up is crude oil, which isn't necessarily a good thing because that ultimately means you're probably paying a little bit more in gas. But it is what it is. It is what it is, as the New Yorkers like to say. I will get you a full check of how things are looking at the New York Stock Exchange here in short order. But first, let's bring in David and Emily. Guys, there's going to be so much to discuss this week here at CPAC 2026.
David Brody
Yeah, and I think one of the Big issues that we've been talking about this morning is Iran. But let me take it a little deeper here. The question I think that should be posed to a lot of folks that are attending this weekend or this week is can you be America first and also be deeply involved in the Middle East? You know, I think you'll get some varying responses on that. So, so I'm not looking for exactly our opinion or analysis, though of course I'd love to give my analysis on that. But, but I think you can do both. I think you can be America. And this is what President Trump is saying. I mean, maga, he's saying, yeah, MAGA is going in and having this war with Iran. But to be deeply involved in the Middle east and America first, the Marjorie Taylor Greene's and others will say, absolutely not.
Terrence Bates
See, and I would argue that it's about motivation, Emily. It's about what motivates the policy. If the policy is motivated and rooted by American interests and putting those interests first. I think that's at the heart of what is America First.
Emily Finn
Absolutely. And I think at the heart of this, this debate in this question too is Iran is just so, so powerful and what they do throughout the world is really horrible. And as you said, David, if it's not one wacko, they're going to replace it with another wacko. So being able to, to really put this problem to rest is going, that is every country first. It's the world first to be able to, to rid the world of evil. So I think that debate and that, that conversation is going to continue happening especially here at cpac.
Terrence Bates
I'm sorry, David, just really quickly, I blame you for starting off, off with the word wacko. We've been using the word wacko for the last hour and 15 minutes because of you.
David Brody
That's right. I might just say whack a mole. It's like playing whack a mole over there. Look, here's the thing. And one answer I can't get from the America first crowd, and you know, I like Marjorie Taylor Greene and others. Right. But one answer I can't get is if, if you're going to kill over a thousand Americans, which is what Iran has done through their proxies and others, how is it not America first to take care of that threat? I mean, to me that is America First. We have a country killing over a thousand Americans over the last 47 years and maybe some president should have done something sooner. That's true. But here's Trump saying, no, not on my watch, to Me, that's like, all in on America first. Now, I know people see it differently, but that's kind of my take.
Terrence Bates
You made my point. It's about the motivation. What is motivating the policies. If what motivates the policy is the best interest of the United States and keeping American people safe. And so you're making moves to ensure that. I don't see how anyone could argue that that is not America first because that quite literally is putting the interest of Americans first.
Emily Finn
It's almost prioritization, though, too. It's like, is this the most important thing, or is gas prices the most important thing? Is the economy? Most important is, you know, making sure that transgenders aren't participating in women's sports. Is that most important? This war is happening on the other side of the world, but there are obviously issues here today. I think that is the argument that Marjorie and other people have been making at this time.
Terrence Bates
Yeah.
David Brody
And I think the counter argument to that, as we continue to kind of have that, which is you can walk and chew gum at the same time. I mean, look at President Trump. I mean, no one can accuse President Trump of not doing things domestically in this country, I mean, whether it be immigration or other things. So, I mean, he can go ahead and get a lot done domestically and fight a war with Iran. I think their issue is that they've always said they don't want endless wars and forever wars. I'll be honest with you. I'll be straight up. Is the mic on? I guess the mic is on. I'll be honest with you. I think it's more a pacifist crowd. They just don't want war. And who wants war? But sometimes war is necessary. And. And I think this is really where the rub is. I. I think it's. I think it's a load of. You know what? When they say endless wars and forever wars, I think that's a cop out. I think they just don't want war. Tucker doesn't want war. No matter what. No matter what. Marjorie, I don't think she wants war at all. And once again, I'm not saying I want war, but sometimes, like I said, war is necessary.
Terrence Bates
I would agree. And I'm kind of on the fence. Ideally, no, I don't want war, but if we're going to do it, then it needs to be done in the right way. And I would prefer. My priority preference would be that we get it done, get in, get out, if it lasts over a long period of time. I think, like many Americans in the poll show this. I'm not so sure I would have the stomach or the appetite for it. But again, I'm open to a conversation. Convince me otherwise. I'm definitely open to being convinced.
David Brody
And this idea also that the Bible is against what? The Bible's not against war. God's not against war. I mean, in the Bible, sometimes, like I said, war is necessary. Sometimes you have to have war to, to eradicate evil. And so we can get into that another time. Oh, we gotta go, don't we?
Terrence Bates
Yes.
David Brody
Okay. Well, then I'm going to take us over to the New York Stock Exchange. I'm not going to actually walk there because I'm in Grapevine, Texas. But it is all sponsored by amac.

All right. The applause is underway at the New York Stock Exchange, which means the opening bell is about to ring. Right on cue. There it is. Ladies and gentlemen, the markets are officially open. So let's get a quick look at how things are looking on this Thursday of trading. Once again, buy low, sell high. Hopefully you're able to do that with whatever you're investing in. Not looking so, so hot right now on our big board. As you can see the dow s P500 and the NASDAQ, the major indices all are in the red at the moment. VIX is up, gold is down, and it looks like oil is back up. That's not the good situation right there. When oil is up, that means gas prices typically up as well. But we'll monitor all of this for you throughout the day and keep you updated. All right, we're going to take a quick break. When we come back, we'll have more live from CPAC 2020. Going to be here for the next couple of days. We'll have some interesting guests and we're going to have lots of fun. Stick around.

Welcome back everybody, to American Sunrise. I'm David Brody. Thanks for joining us this morning. We invite you to join us in the conversation on Gadder and Rumble. We got a lot of noise behind us.
Terrence Bates
What are you saying? What?
David Brody
I'm sorry, Sunny, One more time. It's not even a senior moment and I can't hear myself talk or speak or whatever. All right, let's take a the political pulse of America today. The beat today, specifically President Trump and the Republican National Committee are actually hoping to supercharge the GOP's chances in November with a first ever midterm convention. Sources say Republicans are zeroing in on Dallas, actually right around here as the site of its first of its kind midterm convention. It's a massive event obviously aimed at rallying the base just before early voting begins. It's a major break from tradition. Matter of fact, I can't remember when it's ever been done before with convention style events typically held only during presidential years. But GOP leaders say this midterm is different. House Speaker Mike Johnson, by the way, is promising a showcase of the party's biggest stars. So I guess T. Bates will be there. While Democrats claim it could backfire and the candidates to close, making the candidates too close to Trump. So let's discuss this a little bit, obviously. Emily and T. Bates back with us. What do you think, Terrence?
Terrence Bates
I think it's a great idea.
David Brody
I do too.
Terrence Bates
A lot to be made up. Oh, where is it going to be? But it really is a great idea and I think it really helps to get momentum moving towards the midterms. Let's just be honest, these midterms are critical, particularly for President Trump in terms of having the sort of power, having the numbers within the House and the Senate to continue his America First MAGA agenda. It's critical. And so rallying the base, making sure everyone is on the same page and goes into the midterms with the united message is key. And the President is going to be doing that with these midterms. Great idea. But again, this is Trump. He does, he does everything that's out of the box. It's not the norm and this is a way for him to kind of push the party to do so.
Emily Finn
Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. We have a, a guest that just popped up and sat down at our table.
Terrence Bates
There he is. What's going on, brother?
Emily Finn
So good to see you.
David
Great to see everybody.
Terrence Bates
To see you.
David
Great to be in Texas. Everything's bigger in Texas, including my ego.
Emily Finn
Yes.
Terrence Bates
Hey, so look, we've been having this conversation about this idea of having a pre midterm, a pre midterm convention. Talk about your thoughts. Like how important is it? From my perspective. Perspective at least it's critical to get everyone on the same page leading into these all important midterm elections.
David
I think they need five pre midterm conventions to make it happen. You know, all the polls, 100 plus poll releases show the Democrats ahead by four to like nine seats out there. Republicans have a Lot of work to do, Terrence.
Terrence Bates
Absolutely.
David Brody
Can I ask you a non political question?
David
Sure.
David Brody
Has nothing to do with anything that we, what we're talking about this morning. If I'm over your house and you're making me a great dinner, what are you cooking for me? For the, like a guest. In other words, what is your top? I mean, you're. You're a chef. You are a top chef. I just want to know what you, what you would cook for me.
David
Anything your heart desires.
David Brody
Dave, what's your go to? What is your go to?
David
Well, the go to is, you know, the homemade pesto and the pasta and the yoki and stuff like that. But I love, love Thai food. I make a lot of Tom kagai, Tom Yungoon. It's healthy. Keeps the inflammation down. And, you know, anything, anything, anything goes. But we do it with the family and that's what's important.
David Brody
All right, that's fair. That was my hard hitting question, Emily.
Casey Fleming
Sorry.
Emily Finn
I have another hard hitting question. This is a callback for all of our fans that were tuned in during Thanksgiving. Do you have empanadas on Thanksgiving?
David Brody
Nicely played.
David
No, that's one thing I don't do is empanada. You know, I'm Italian. I don't have any Hispanic roots. I do make stuff like that. I make homemade salsa. My guac is killer. It's absolutely.
Gordon Chang
Yeah.
David
But, yeah, so it's so much fun in the kitchen and, you know, just been a journey. Right. Doing it for 50 years now.
Terrence Bates
So. Wow.
David Brody
Okay. TB, get us back on track.
Steve Bannon
Thank you.
Terrence Bates
Like all this food talk, I was like, okay, I'm ready to go and leave.
David Brody
So.
Terrence Bates
So let's talk about CPAC 2026. What are your expectations from these next couple of days? And let's talk about issues. What are the issues you see as being critical to that need to be addressed over these next couple of days?
David
So, Terrence, I've learned I don't panic anymore about any division or conversation going on. You know, the Democrats don't have a lot of conversation. And, you know, people have to look at the big picture here. I think it's okay to have the dialogue. There's things I like that I see. There's things I don't like that I see going on. But I think it's really important when the vote comes that they get the vote out. That is critical, but I think people will come together. I think things in Iran are a little better than people think. Right now, I am concerned about deployment of troops on the ground. And stuff like that. I think that's a bone of contention, him with a lot of people. But listen, you know, there's Nothing like this CPAC. This is my 17th CPAC. Some people have been coming here for 50 years, since 75 at the Reagan Building in D.C. but you know, CPAC has always been electric to spark the conversation. I remember Glenn Beck coming, I think that was in 2011. Rush Limbaugh, 2009, 2010 came, brought down the House. Sarah Palin showed up with a big gulp after Bloomberg tried to ban sodas in New York. You know, it's always been front and center for some dialogue and to maybe unify a message. And I think it's important because I don't think the other side really gets into it and they just follow the narrative.
David Brody
David, the MAGA coalition is holding so far on the Iran war for now. Now, yeah. The question then becomes if we're having the same conversation in June and we got not just the 82nd Airborne, but others on the ground and we're occupying Carg island, and it just becomes a whole different situation. I mean, that could be politically disastrous in the midterms because then the coalition may not hold as much as it is now.
David
Listen, do you think that's true? Do you think that's true? NBC was out there that the other day, interviewing people at the gas pump, and they couldn't find somebody who didn't support what we were doing. You know, but you know, that Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz is so critical.
Casey Fleming
Right.
David
It's not just oil, it's not just lng, which took big damage in Qatar. That Shell project was, was the crown jewel of the LNG in Qatar. And it's going to be down for like a year. Helium. One third of the world, world's helium supply comes through the Strait of Hormuz as well. And that's used for semiconductor production, for laser, for imaging, for medical and all kinds of other applications. It's for our high temperature gas, cold reactors, for these small nuclear reactors coming out. And there's other things, fertilizer, sulfur byproducts. Right. Third World countries. It's planting season, so it's critical that opens up. It's nice to see that European is coming on board finally, maybe with the coalition. But these, you know, these troops, can they serve in a supporting role? Got the A10 strafing the fast boats and others in the, in the waterways. But you know, I, I think the ground stuff has to be really limited and probably safe. If they secure the islands. I don't know about Carg island and how that's going to go, but I don't think Iran will be able to make mount a huge opposition to what we're doing.
Emily Finn
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. You know, David, I always, you cover such interesting topics on Breaking Point on your show, and I always love when you give the, give the preview for, for what's coming up. That one story that we have talked about in the past that I want to get a follow up from you on. Massapequa High School, the mascot name change, whatever happened with all of that, I
David
think there's new litigation on it. I think it's still going to be in the court. Massapequa High School, Long island, named after Sachem Indian Takapusha chief. Takapusha.
Terrence Bates
Right.
David
It was sold by the Dutch to the Dutch, by the Indians. It wasn't taken by force by the white man. And the mascots on Long island, which is all Sachem type Indians, Kinnequot Indians, everything's named after Indians. Our roadways, our counties, our, our school districts and one local school district changed their name, you know, from the Thunderbirds. They had to get rid of the thing and then Massapequa as well. My mother designed the Massapequa logo 70 years ago in an art contest when she was 13. And it was Takapusha, the Sachem Indian and the village adopted it as their village seal on all their trucks. The high school has it up there and everything and they're trying to get rid of it. And it's not, it's an honor of the Indian nations. It's so crazy.
Terrence Bates
Wow. I didn't realize it was that personal. Quite personal. Hey, want to switch gears? Because as we walk around the floor here at 2026 CPAC, you really notice that there are people from around the world here. While the focus is America first and maga, there is also a geopolitical focus, if you will put into perspective the kind of blueprint that's being laid for the rest of the world here at cpac. But even more importantly, how save America First, Excuse me. MAGA is creating a blueprint for the rest of the world.
David
It's undeniable what Trump has done. The Don Row doctrine. You know, I was at that southcom conference before the Shields of America, the Counter Cartel Summit, where 17 defense ministers from central South America and the Caribbean came up. The majority of the countries under Southern Command's area of responsibility, where we're doing all these narco operations, right? Anti narco trafficking operations. We got 17 countries. It was probably the most historic agreement in 200 years in the Western Hemisphere to come on board and sign up with us and asking for our help. Ecuador, the youngest elected president ever. The mercury murder rates quintupled in five years. And now with Venezuela taken out, Colombia is getting the drugs through Ecuador. He's asking for our help. So the dynamic has changed in the world stage and we'll see what happens in Cuba. But with the actions in Iran, if ultimately successful, are another game changer. And you know, I could see why people, there's a little bit of a schism, right. They don't want to see us in foreign wars and stuff. But if that's successful and the Western hemisphere is secure, getting the Chinese to stop buying oil in our hemisphere, they wanted to build fighter jets I think in Argentina, you know, so I think it's just critical and I think most of the CPAC crowd believes in American sovereignty. They believe that we're good hearted by nature. We're not a terrorist regime, we're not a dictatorship. So I think, think there's commonality there.
Terrence Bates
Go ahead.
David Brody
Okay. Yeah, I was going to ask you. We got 30 seconds or so. President Trump is not going to be here. At least we understand he's not going to be here. Why do you think that is? And I know a lot of people will say, oh, he's got a war going on. Hold on, timeout. He's going tomorrow to the Saudi investment conference down in Miami. So I don't want to hear that, that reason necessarily. And over the weekend he's going to be at Mar a Lago. Yeah, he's going to be doing some
Terrence Bates
phone calls with the war.
David
You don't, I don't have an answer for you on that. But I will say when Trump did participate in CPAC over the years since his first term, it has been the most exciting. It put kind of CPAC back on the map since the Tea Party days and it's been electric. I hope that can happen, but we'll see. But I think the message out of the White House is still one that is aligned with most of the people who attend cpac.
David Brody

And join us now to discuss more on all of that as it relates to the war is the CEO of Black Ops Partners, national security counterintelligence expert and author of the Red Tsunami, Casey Fleming. Casey, great to have you today.
Casey Fleming
Great to be with you guys.
David Brody
That's a lot of titles because you do a lot of important work. So we appreciate you. Talk to us about, about where you see the war right now, where it is headed and as it relates to cpac, what the message here needs to be as we move forward into the midterms.
Casey Fleming
Well, where the war is, it's a very precarious situation because there's no off ramps right now. Remember, we poked a terrorist organization and when you poke a terrorist organization, it's not like taking out the head like we did. The rest of them go underground. They still have manufacturing capability for drones and so on. Underground. The Chinese Communist Party has been in there well over a decade helping them economically and to build tunnels, huge tunnels and underground operations. So we've sent these guys underground. So it's not going to be just an easy in and an easy out. That's the biggest concern. You know, they've been, they've been prepping for Israel for many, many years.
Terrence Bates
Years.
Casey Fleming
They've always worried about Israel coming across and that's who they've been prepping against. The US And Israel came in. So we just, we're part of the tag. So the message to CPAC is don't be distracted by the war of the month. The bigger war is the Chinese Communist Party with every American man, woman and child. That's how it all figures in. They are Iran and CCP are the, our strategic partners.
Terrence Bates
Is Iran a distraction then, in your opinion, from the ccp, from fighting China? Because there is a war, whether we want to accept it or not, whether we want to say that they're at war with the United States.
Casey Fleming
China is absolutely, this is a serious war and it will change history, no question about it. But the bigger war, the final war, is unrestricted war with the Chinese Communist Party. That's what, what's going on in the bigger picture. And that's the message to cpac. They're, they're unwinding the United States from The within. They're having us destroy ourselves from within. And that's the reason I wrote the book.
Terrence Bates
And if I can just change the paradigm really quickly. War, typically, or the paradigm of war has been military action. But China is waging a cyber war with us. They are changing trial, waging agricultural war. It's being fought on so many different. You're okay. You're looking at me. You don't agree?
Emily Finn
No.
Terrence Bates
You read my book. Okay.
David Brody
All right.
Terrence Bates
He kind of squinted his eye. I was like, do you not agree? All right, go ahead, please.
Casey Fleming
You're absolutely right. It's everything but military. It's weakening every man, woman and child. Everything but the military. You're exactly right. And that's what we're doing in Iran is all military. While that. While the Chinese Communist Party and the Russians, North Koreans and even some of the IRGC are amping up their unrestricted war on the American people. Drug warfare, fentanyl, biological warfare. Covid. What about COVID 2? Covid 3? Cyber warfare, cognitive warfare, social media, including Tick tock. All these different types of warfare. There's over 100 and they've been doing this since 1999.
Terrence Bates
In the interview there, he said I was absolutely right. That's all I needed to hear. No, go ahead. Emily.

how to make hosting look effortless? Here's a secret Getting ahead of the mess with new Reynolds Kitchens Countertop Prep Paper Just lightly wet the counter beforehand so the paper grips and stays in place. Then lay down the Reynolds Kitchen's countertop prep paper so drips and spills stay on the paper, not all over your kitchen counter. You can roll out dough, prep a party spread, or cook alongside family. When you're done, cleanup is as simple as lifting the paper and revealing that clean counter underneath. Effortless. You can use it for cooking and baking, prep and even crafting, especially when you need extra working space. Because when the mess is already handled, you can focus on what matters the food, the people and the moment. It may look effortless, but now you know. It's Reynolds Kitchens Countertop Prep Paper. Take a tip from me. Wet it, set it, prep it. Done. Make it easy. Make it with Reynolds Kitchens Countertop prep paper available now in the Reynolds scrap aisle in Walmart.
Cancer Patient
When I was diagnosed, all I wanted to do was get back to work. I wanted to get back to that trajectory that I was on prior to the cancer. I always felt like I had value. I had a place on the team to just be treated with dignity. It means everything.

Welcome back to American Sunrise. I'm Emily Finn. Thank you so much for joining us today. We're continuing our live coverage of CPAC 2026 and joining us now to discuss is the host of War Room here on rav, Steve Bannon. Steve, thanks for being being here with us. Thank you.
Jim McLaughlin
You're welcome.
David
You're well?
Terrence Bates
Oh, that's not for me. That's for you. Hey Steve.
Philip Patrick
Thank you.
Terrence Bates
Thank you.
Steve Bannon
Like to thank my staff for
Terrence Bates
so look, let's talk a bit about CPAC 2026. What are your expectations for this week? You're going to be speaking tomorrow and yes, I'd like a preview of your remarks. But in general for this week, what are your expectations? What do you hope we accomplish look,
Steve Bannon
it's a time of war, obviously, a lot of things. We've accomplished a lot in the third Trump victory, second Trump term. But, you know, there's, there are a lot of things that are kind of not exactly hitting, but the grassroots, what I must say is that this represents the power of our movement. The power of the mega movement. Right? The grassroots. If you see what happened in Texas with, with Ken Pax Paxton. Right. Have you seen what's happening? Ken Paxton.
Terrence Bates
Right.
Steve Bannon
Ken Paxton shows you what the grassroots can do. Outspent by $80 million to 5. So, Ken Paxton, what happened with Prop 10 prohibiting Sharia law in Texas? The state of Texas got almost 2 million votes with no money spent on it. All 100% grassroots movement. If you see in Georgia tomorrow, there's going to be an evidentiary hearing in Georgia about the stolen 2020 election, all by grassroots. Those people have been abandoned by the Republican establishment. If you look in the Commonwealth of Virginia, the establishment basically turned it over to the Democrats to have a 10 to 1, you know, congressional, you know, caucus. Now the grassroots are fighting back to stop that. If you look around the country, the power and energy are. Our movement is the grassroots. We have to come out of here firing off the football and saying we're not giving up on. The people in D.C. are sitting there whining and moaning, oh, we lost the House, we lost the Senate. We haven't lost anything. We've never been. We've only been beaten once in eight tries, and that's by Pelosi in 18. So all we have to do is just hammer, hammer, hammer. We have to come out of here firing off the football.
Terrence Bates
Yeah, so I get that reference. I get that reference.
David Brody
Hey, Steve, you're going to be on the stage. Obviously, you'll get a lot of applause for sure. Ted Cruz is going to be on this stage, too. It's going to be interesting to see what the crowd reaction to Ted Cruz is going to be, because that is obviously a diametrically opposed situation. How do you see it?
Steve Bannon
Two different philosophies about the war, etc. But look, and I, you know, I've known Ted Cruz for a long time, long time. Breitbart, some of the people at Breitbart, as you know. Really, where Ted Cruz, you know, Ben Shapiro said, I turned Breitbart into Trump Pravda.
Gordon Chang
Right.
Steve Bannon
But there are a lot of supporters of Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz has a large grassroots following. And I think we have to unite. Listen, we have very fundamental differences about this war, okay? And how we got here. However, as I've said on War Room, we're in it now. I mean, even as we speak, there are problems. 10,000 young men and women that are.

This special CPAC 2026 edition of American Sunrise weaves together live event coverage, tough political debate, news analysis, and faith-based perspectives. Through a lens of American values, the hosts and their varied guests provide a comprehensive, at times lively platform for discussing America’s place in the world, intraparty Republican debate, generational challenges, war, economics, China, and more. The episode’s tone is passionate, unapologetically patriotic, and rooted in the belief that civic engagement — whether through politics or faith — remains essential in these consequential times.
