Ahead on this special edition of American Sunrise. Giving thanks, we're blessed in these United States as we get ready to gather with our loved ones for tonight's Thanksgiving feast. Yummy. Yummy. After years adrift the country, now on a course correction with President Trump at the helm, keeping America strong, safe and stable. We're going to list some of the accomplishments and all that we have reason to be thankful for. Hello, President Trump. Also ahead, advice for dealing with obnoxious relatives. Oligavault. Also, how to cook the perfect turkey and how to keep perspective on what really matters. Those stories and so much more are ahead as this special gobble, gobble Thanksgiving edition of American Sunrise starts right now. Good morning, America.
Dr. Gina
Welcome to American Sunrise. Whether it's culture, we have breaking news to share with you.
Terrence Bates
Politics.
David Brody
President Trump is joining us live now from Florida.
Terrence Bates
We've got you covered.
David Brody
This is what it looks like to be a patriot.
Terrence Bates
We have to protect the American family.
Dr. Gina
The American dream is still alive.
David Brody
I'm David Brody.
Terrence Bates
I'm terrence.
Dr. Gina
And I'm Dr. Gina. Happy Thanksgiving. We're so glad to have you with us. And we, by the way, are so very thankful for you. I'm Dr. Gina. We are live with you from the Palm Beaches. So are David Brody, but he is in the swamp. And Terrence Bates is in our Denver newsroom chilling. And to be here with you guys, thankful for.
David Brody
Chilling like a villain.
Dr. Gina
Chillin like a villain. Thankful for both of you. Thankful for our audience, our team, our entire control room, and, of course, our brass.
Terrence Bates
Well, Dr. G, we love you back. So, look, you sent out an article and I've been looking at this Thanksgiving dinner. 18% more expensive than last year. But here's what really got me. Yams are up 188%. So forget the numbers. What's the difference between a yam and a sweet potato?
Joe Bob
I was just going to.
Terrence Bates
Tell me.
Dr. Gina
David Brody, I hope you know the answer. All right. Is Chad chicken?
Curtis Hauck
I don't know.
Dr. Gina
I'm finding out.
Terrence Bates
No, hold on.
David Brody
Let me Google it. I don't know. I have no idea.
Terrence Bates
Like, in my mind, a yam is a sweet potato and a sweet potato is a yam. But they're used so interchangeably that now I'm questioning myself. I'm like, okay, is there a difference?
Dr. Gina
And you said that you do sweet potato pie, but never yam pie.
Terrence Bates
All right, There you go. To me, as long as it's sweet and it's covered in marshmallow, it's fine either way. But, you know, people use them interchangeably, I guess. I don't know. As soon as I was reading that article, that's what popped in my mind. Go ahead, David. Sorry.
David Brody
I'm sorry.
Terrence Bates
Go ahead.
David Brody
Go ahead, Gina, tell us.
Dr. Gina
Well, chat. Gypsy, you know, comes to the rescue. Although you can't believe everything you see, because they are very, very programmed. And it's not always with conservative sources. But I try to train mine, and I argue with it a lot. My husband laughs at me. Yam is much less sweet. It is starchier. It is white. It is dry. The skin is rough bark, like almost tree root in appearance. Yam can grow to be several feet long. A sweet potato has its limits, and it belongs to the Dioscorea family and grown in different parts of the world. Africa, Caribbean, and Asia. Sweet potato is usually tan, copper, red, and belongs to the morning glory family. I don't know why I thought that was really cool.
David Brody
Welcome to the Chatgpt version of American Sunrise. Very nice, by the way. Let me just. Can I just say, is this gonna get me in trouble? Am I the only person in America that doesn't like marshmallows on their sweet potato? Yam.
Terrence Bates
What?
David Brody
I can't stand it. I can't stand it.
Dr. Gina
I don't even like marshmallows. I don't like them on my s'. Mores. I think they ruin it. Why take graham cracker crust and chocolate and add a marshmallow that goos all over you?
David Brody
But.
Curtis Hauck
But.
Terrence Bates
Dear Lord, save me from these two people. Lord, save me. This can't be this marshmallow. How do you not put.
Dr. Gina
What do you put in with your sweet potatoes if it's not marshmallow? What do you put? Brown sugar.
David Brody
Yeah, brown sugar.
Dr. Gina
Just brown sugar.
Terrence Bates
Some molasses, Sweeten it up. All that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Anyway, Dr. Gina, can you give us our prayer after. You two heathens just talked about marshmallows that way. Unbelievable.
Dr. Gina
I don't even think back in the time of Jesus. I don't know. I never heard mention of marshmallows in the Bible.
David Brody
Correct? Correct. Thank you, Gina.
Terrence Bates
You gonna play that card on me, Dr. Gina? I can't come.
David Brody
You can't.
Terrence Bates
Of course he didn't mention marshmallows. I can't come back that.
Dr. Gina
Colossians 3, verse 15. And let the Peace of God, Terrence, rule in your hearts, to which you also were called in one body. And be thankful for crying out loud, it says right there, there is a lot to be thankful for in all actuality, all teasing aside, this Thanksgiving, starting with our president in the White House, here with his take on the Trump presidency as we give thanks is Bobby Eberly. He's a Republican strategist, host of the 13 Minute NewsHour. Bobby, what is your 13 Minute Minute News takeaway as we mark Thanksgiving and Trump's 311th day in office? But we can't let you go 13 minutes on this show. Sorry. The producers will scream at us and they will start playing, playing buzzers and all sorts of things.
Joe Bob
Oh, come on, let me, let me have it. Let me have my 13. No, it's been a great year, right? I mean there's, there's so much to be thankful for. And I think all you have to do is look at around this, you know, time last year when prior to.
Terrence Bates
The election, we're looking at Trump versus Kamala Harris.
Joe Bob
And so you gotta be thankful for the fact that Kamala Harris isn't our president. I mean, can you imagine how things would be if she were? I mean the border, the economy, you.
Terrence Bates
Name it, foreign policy. So number one, you gotta be thankful.
Joe Bob
For the fact that President Trump won and that Kamala Harris is not in office. Cuz I think that would be a disaster.
David Brody
No doubt. Hey, Bobby, you know, we talked about prices up this Thanksgiving over last in terms of a Thanksgiving meal. So here's the thing. Looking forward to next year in terms of giving thanks. I'm thinking at least the White House believes that come quarter two, quarter three of next year that those prices on a quote, affordability will be down based on the big beautiful bill. That's big beautiful law. And you know, eventually we'll start to see some of that. Do you think that that is a real possibility and we'll give even more thanks next year for on the affordability issue.
Joe Bob
I think so. And I'm glad that the president is gravitating to it. And even that word, you know, that.
Terrence Bates
Word was used a lot during these.
Joe Bob
Last elections in New York and Virginia and New Jersey. And when you think about the fact that, you know, the average age of a first time home buyer is 40 years old, it's not the 24 year old getting married, having a kid and starting that home with a new job. And we want to return to that American dream. And I think these policies can and will do it Takes a little bit of time, but let's be realistic of where the state of the economy is and where we want it to go and bring people along. I think they're willing to give us.
Terrence Bates
The chance to make America great again.
Joe Bob
We just need to deliver, and I think we can.
Terrence Bates
Bobby, I need you to really think closely and think very carefully on your answer to this next, because it really will determine whether you can do two more minutes or whether we cut this short. Please tell me you don't have an aversion to marshmallows. You like marshmallows, Terence?
Joe Bob
Man, I was sitting there, and I'm listening to everybody, and I got.
Terrence Bates
I gotta side with David on this one, because it's just like, oh, gosh, I.
Joe Bob
No, I'm sorry.
Terrence Bates
You know, what have I done to deserve.
Joe Bob
Can't do it. It's like, give me the yams or the sweet potatoes. I'm more of a stuffing guy.
Dr. Gina
Me, too.
Terrence Bates
Mashed potatoes and gravy all day long.
Dr. Gina
Salty all day long.
Dr. Carol Lieberman
Yeah.
David Brody
Keep this man's mic open.
Terrence Bates
No, keep. Okay. I yield to the gentle. I yield.
Joe Bob
Any other.
Terrence Bates
Any further questions of this man to the gentlewoman from Florida or the gentleman from Maryland? Bobby, you're dead to me. No more.
Dr. Carol Lieberman
After the.
Terrence Bates
After the holiday, we'll be cool again. We'll be cool again after the holiday for the next 24 hours. Don't call me. I won't call you. There you go, baby. Hey, Bobby, I respect you.
Dr. Gina
We know the answer is not marshmallows, but what are you most thankful for this holiday? And what should all Americans be thankful for this season?
Joe Bob
Well, I think just the fact that we live in the greatest country in the world, and the fact that we are gathered, hopefully, people today with families, loved ones, and we feel that, you know, that warmth that comes out of.
Terrence Bates
The kitchen and those smells that bring everybody together.
Joe Bob
Just realize how thankful we are to.
Terrence Bates
Live in this world, that we have.
Joe Bob
Loved ones around us and that we have this flame in America that is still burning, that still wants people to come together, the country, to do better and build a brighter future for everybody. I think that is the message. That's what I'm thankful for. I'm gonna enjoy today.
Terrence Bates
I'm gonna enjoy some football, some food.
Joe Bob
And just family and friends and loved ones. I think that's what it's all about.
Dr. Gina
Absolutely. All right, Bobby, David, we're gonna go to you now. We're assigning questions now.
David Brody
Well, I appreciate it. So with Terrence now.
Terrence Bates
Hi.
Joe Bob
Look, I'm sorry. Guys, I just glanced down the monitor.
Terrence Bates
I mean, Terrence, this is.
Joe Bob
This is a bad day in television, folks.
Terrence Bates
Again, remember I said I won't call you. You shouldn't call me. Please also, do not use my name. We'll talk tomorrow.
David Brody
But today, the anchor etiquette. That is not proper anchor etiquette. Tbates, please. We want to see your lovely face, so to speak.
Joe Bob
This is a pro team, right?
Terrence Bates
Thanks. This is as much as you can.
Dr. Gina
I told you, Bobby, this is what happens when you we anchors misbehave. That's the anchor jail bell. And Terrence has put us all in it, Bobby. But we appreciate you coming on with us today. Thank you so much.
David Brody
Thank you, Bobby.
Dr. Gina
Have the most blessed Thanksgiving and give our love to your family as well.
Terrence Bates
Thank you.
Joe Bob
Happy Thanksgiving to you, too.
Terrence Bates
Bye, Bobby. Yeah, Terrence, we'll see you.
Dr. Gina
All right, you guys listen to this. Coming up, we're gonna check out the hottest headlines from the RAV newsroom. Hopefully with T. Bates. Hopefully he'll come back and join us. Also later, we're giving a special thanks. Thank you to those who keep America secure and protect us from threats domestically and abroad. We're going to speak with a former CIA covert operations officer. And it's not Colby. Right after the break. Stay grateful. Be right back.

Now, don't take this the wrong way, Columbus, Ohio, but there are gonna be a lot of fatter people by the end of this evening. But then again, it's not just Columbus, it's every city in America. Thanks to Thanksgiving. That was redundant. Welcome back everybody, to American Sunrise. We really appreciate you being here on this wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. We've got a lot to look forward to and we'll talk about all of that, especially from a national security perspective, in a moment. First, though, T. Bates standing by with the latest headlines from the Real America's Voice newsroom. It's all sponsored by AMAC the Association.
Terrence Bates
Of Mature American Citizens, is the conservative voice for Americans 50 and older. AMAC is fighting for the values that you hold dear. Join today. Together we can right the course of America. Guys, can we bring David back up really quickly? I've got a bone to pick with him. Just really quickly before we get to headlines. Did I do David, I'm feeling triggered even though I don't live in Columbus. You said like a lot of places, there are going to be a lot of fatter people later on this evening. Yes. I feel like you were targeting me. I'm not fat. I'm big boned. And I will be bigger boned after this evening. So please get away. I felt triggered there.
David Brody
I fat shamed you. I fat shamed myself. So that is both of us, sir. The double box fat shame going on right now.
Terrence Bates
Exactly. And to be honest, David, I'm not ashamed of what I'm getting ready to do to this turkey here in just a little bit. I'm not ashamed at all. Trust me. All right. Appreciate it, brother. So look, guys, in just a few hours, Americans are going to sit down for a Thanksgiving meal. Many are going to enjoy a plate that's piled high with tradition. The menu rarely changes. I mean, everybody eats a roasted turkey, right? You've got the stuffing, creamy mashed potatoes. Two helpings for me, please. Green bean casserole, and of course, the pumpkin pie. We do sweet potato pie at my house. So what's changed are the prices. For 2025, the average at home meal for 10 people will cost around $60 to $70. Here's the good news, though. Some smart shoppers were able to find a complete holiday feast for under $40 at major stores like Walmart, even Aldi. While inflation has pushed up the price of individual items, especially the turkey, competition among retailers is keeping the holiday budget a bit more friendly for savvy consumers. And if you're already freaking out about preparing tonight's meal, and if you've got a Thanksgiving culinary crisis, well, don't panic because help is as near as your cell phone. The turkey hotlines are open and they're ready to help. The famous Butterball turkey talk line is staffed by over 50 experts, and they field thousands of calls on Thanksgiving Day alone. The number one question, you guessed it, how do I thaw my turkey? Hopefully you didn't just start this morning and followed closely by how do I know it's done? Well, you can call them at 1-800-BUTTERBALL or you can text them at 844-87-73456. For food safety concerns, the USDA also runs a meat and poultry hotline. It's open from 8 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon Eastern time on the holiday itself. So whether your turkey is still frozen solid or simply won't fit in the oven, help is just a phone call or a text away. Good luck and hopefully it turns out like you're expecting. Finally, let's talk travel. If you've gotten to your destination via the friendly skies, well, congratulations to you. Enjoy the day. Keep the trip back home out of your mind for the moment. Well, no, on second thought, now that I mention it, the forecast is that the friendly skies won't be so friendly this weekend. Once again, the sun Monday after Thanksgiving is expected to be the worst day of the year to fly. TSA data shows that it is consistently the busiest travel day in America. Last year, over 3 million passengers packed airports, which is a record that stood until this past June. This year, however, there is a small break for travelers as airlines are adding nearly a quarter million more seats, which is about 2% increase over last year. So even though demand is higher than ever, you might just have a little more room to breathe this holiday weekend. And here's another tip to consider. Stay a little bit longer. The Wednesday after Thanksgiving is on average the least busy day to travel post holiday. If you have a great boss like we do here on rav, well, you may want to ask if you can work remotely. You might be able to avoid taking vacation days despite the longer trip. Just a couple of things to consider. Enjoy your holiday. Up next, giving thanks that these United States are now more secure under President Trump's leadership. We'll have the details ahead, but first, a quick look at this day in history. It was on this day in 1895 that Swedish chemist Alfred Nobel established Nobel Prizes through his work, dedicating the bulk of his fortune to funding annual awards for those who have contributed the, quote, greatest benefit to humankind. Many people here in America and around the world think President Trump should be a shoo in for the Peace Prize win this coming year for his efforts on ending wars and conflicts around the country globe. Do you agree? Let us know on Getter Rumble YouTube. Go on and get in the the chats and let us know your thoughts. Love to hear them. This special Thanksgiving edition of American Sunrise returns in just a moment. In the meantime, go stir the gravy. Check on the turkey. Hopefully it's not still frozen. We're back in a moment.

Long Island. Long Island, New York. Beautiful on this Thanksgiving morning, soon to be day, soon to be evening, soon to be upset stomach. Welcome to the special Thanksgiving edition of American Sunrise, everybody. I'm David Brody. All right. Securing our southern border has been a top priority for the Trump administration. The Department of Homeland Security, in coordination with ice, have worked tirelessly to rid our country of dangerous criminals. And joining us now for a further discussion on that is our good friend Mike Baker. He's a former CIA covert operations officer and the host of the President's Daily Brief podcast. I'll get it out eventually. Mike, good to see you. So, negative net migration, or net negative migration, whatever you want to call it. I mean, my goodness, more people are leaving the country than entering it. I mean, talk about being thankful for something. Kamala Harris. And the borders are. She's got to be really, really sad that this is happening, I guess. Good morning to you.
Joe Bob
Good morning. Yeah, it turns out when you enforce your immigration laws and create a secure border, which every other country out there on the planet does as well, then this is what you get, right? I mean, you get less traffic illegally crossing the border. That's not rocket science. But it appeared that it was difficult for the previous administration to understand.
Terrence Bates
Mike, I have to admit, I really want to ask you about marshmallows, but I'm not going to do that because we didn't have a good experience in our last segment. So let's just go here. I want to bring your attention to this headline, which reads, suspected suburban jihadis were at the center of a disturbing homegrown terror plot that authorities say was fueled by extremist content on social media. The FBI intercepted encrypted chats where suspects allegedly use code words like vacation, which was supposed to mean jihad, and pumpkin, which was a reference to a Halloween attack. Counterterrorism experts are warning that online radicalization continues to drive these sorts of domestic threats. So do you see these as kind of lone wolf situations, and is that really the biggest threat to America internally at the moment?
Joe Bob
Well, it's lone wolf, in a manner of speaking. Right, because you can have individuals out there unconnected to anything who. Who, for one reason or another, they. They disappear into these rabbit holes. They. They get into the dark web, and next thing you know, they're in these chat rooms. They're. They're impressionable, maybe, you know, they're loners, whatever it might be, and they become radicalized. And you've also got this element out there that is putting out these chat groups, organizing these things. So there's. There's an organized element to this with foreign connections. Look, you know, ISIS isn't dead yet. Al Qaeda is not dead yet. Radical Islam is still, you know, going very strong in parts of the world. And so there are elements out there that are looking to influence and radicalize individuals. So you can say that person is a lone wolf, but there's. There's linkages to more of an organized effort, if that makes sense.
Dr. Gina
Okay, Mike, in your opinion, what is the biggest threat facing America this Thanksgiving morning? Besides losing our marshmallows?
Joe Bob
Yeah, it's got to be the marshmallow thing. It's. It's that. Because I don't. I don't see anything that tops the marshmallow problem at this point. But other. Other than that. And, Terence, I'm sorry to say this, but. Yeah, marshmallows.
Terrence Bates
Don't do it, Mike. Don't, don't, don't, don't, don't.
Joe Bob
I'm sorry.
Terrence Bates
I'm sorry.
Joe Bob
Yeah, I. I know. I'm not just saying this so that I'm with the majority here, Terence. I. I firmly believe. Believe this.
David Brody
Smart man.
Joe Bob
But as far as the problems that are facing the US and national security. One of them was what you started with, which is this issue of an open border.
Terrence Bates
Right.

The primary function of the federal government is to keep their citizens safe. And you can't do that unless you know, or to the degree possible, you know, who's coming across your border, who's entering your country. And for several years, obviously, right. Even. Even people on the left have to admit this. We didn't know. Right. We had millions of people coming in, and not all of them, of course, had nefarious intent. A lot of them were just legitimately looking for a better life. But you'd have to be completely gormless to imagine that a number of those people that crossed that porous border during the past administration, some of them did have nefarious intent. And we know that from years gone by. We've seen evidence in the past of cartels cooperating with groups like Al Qaeda, because al Qaeda looks at and says, okay, what can the cartel do? The cartel's extremely good at moving people and weapons and resources across and back and forth that border. So let's create some liaison with it. So that was one of our primary concerns. It still is, in a sense. You can't let your guard down, but it has vastly improved.
David Brody
Mike, 30 seconds or so. What about these sleeper cells inside the United States? And I'm thinking about mosques. I'm just gonna say it straight up. I mean, there are a lot of mosques that are being built all across this country, especially in places like Texas. I mean, you wonder about that threat. I know there's been books written about that. The terrorists next door, if you will.
Joe Bob
Yeah, yeah. Look, this is. Anytime you start talking about this, right, the other side, the Democrats, in particular, the hard left, we'll start to roll our eyes and go, oh, my God, you're an Islamophobe. Well, you know what? At the point where the threats have come from somewhere else, and we'll direct our attention there, but there have been and continue to be threats from radical Islam. And so that is where you need to draw your focus.
Terrence Bates
Right?
Joe Bob
So the problem is that people have gotten weary. They've gotten fatigued on the war on terror. They just want it to be a thing of the past. And the folks that haven't gotten weary, that haven't gotten fatigued are the terrorist elements that still exist out there that would like to target and attack the U.S. and so we can't let our guard down. You've got to get out of your foxhole and get busy living. But you still have to be pragmatic and realistic and realize that the threat hasn't gone away, no matter how desperate we are to get back to a normal life where we don't have these problems. Mark.
Terrence Bates
Mike, Excuse me. What is your sense in terms of our government kind of letting the guard down? These sleeper cells, that's the whole point. They lay dormant, or they hope that you forget about them, and then they attack. And the reality is that right now, our focus is squarely on those illegal immigrants who are being criminals while they're criminal because they're in the country, but who are committing these violent and heinous crimes, getting them out. Are we kind of looking past those sleeper cells, or are your sources telling you that they are still squarely in our scope?
Joe Bob
Yeah, they're still on the radar. Look, you know, the FBI, it's taken a beating over the past, you know, recent past, but. But they're very good at multitasking. And, you know, the local and state federal authorities, they've gotten much, much better at working together, coordinating together joint terrorist task force and other elements out there. So they. They haven't let their guard down, and they are monitoring. It's. It's a difficult lift. There's no doubt about it. But people should be aware that there are a lot of people working hard to keep this country safe so that we can all enjoy Thanksgiving.
Dr. Gina
I wonder if you know about this breaking story this Thanksgiving that US Grocery stores are labeling orange sweet potatoes as yams. Now, this is really important. This is purely for marketing. It started, actually in the 20th century to distinguish them from the sweet potato variety, but they are. If they are orange inside, they are sweet potatoes, because yams are not orange. What gives them the permission to mislabel our yams as sweet potatoes? I want to know the answer to this.
David Brody
Yeah.
Joe Bob
Mike, what's your intel on that? Yeah, you're in luck, because a lot of people don't know this, but I spent a couple of years while I was with the CIA undercover as a yam import, so I've got a lot of insight into this. It's probably better to keep it for another segment, but, yeah, it's. It's. There's. There's differences in technicalities here. I don't want to say it's rocket science, but people should pay attention. Yeah.
Dr. Gina
Well, the bottom line, if you bought it in a US Store and it is orange inside, it is a sweet potato, not a yam. Buyer beware.
Terrence Bates
That's correct.
Curtis Hauck
Yeah.
David Brody
Mike Baker, yam intel operator. We really appreciate you being here today. Thank you so very much.
Terrence Bates
And if you've got to connect on some cheaper yams, I'm more than happy to meet someone on the corner of 15th and Halstead or wherever in order to get get some cheaper yams this holiday.
Joe Bob
Like I say right now at CIA headquarters in Langley right now they're going through the file saying did we really put him undercover and do that?
David Brody
Thank you, Mike. Happy Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving.
Terrence Bates
Thanksgiving, brother.

Actually, the real reason behind that, that food coma that we're all about to face might surprise you. The details ahead as American Sunrise comes back in a moment on this Thanksgiving Day.

Welcome back to American Sunrise. You are looking at Denver, Colorado. Terrence Bates is in one of those buildings there and you'll notice you see no marshmallows Nope, it's over for him. I'm Dr. Gina. Thanks for joining us. Time now for today's health news sponsored by the wellness company under the microscope. Today, there is nothing like a big fat nap right after a big fat Thanksgiving meal. But the common belief that turkey makes you sleepy. Guess what you guys, it isn't actually true. This is an old wives tale. It stems from the fact that meat contains tryptophan, an amino acid involved in producing the sleep related hormone serotonin and melatonin. However, experts point out turkey has actually only modest amounts of tryptophan, far below a dose that would actually cause drowsiness. Still, I like to cuddle up with my blanket and my puppies and right after a Thanksgiving meal, watch some football. More likely culprits for that post meal slump are natural portions, naturally large portions, unnatural portions, let's just say carbohydrates, sides, and there's that little bit of alcohol, the body's digestive response to all of that. So to avoid the after feast snooze, nutritionists recommend moderating meal size. That's a challenge. Hydrating, moving around. After dinner, a little caffeine might be good, keeping carbs and alcohol in check. Some solid after as we lumber to the holiday table. So there you go. Watch those carbs. Drink a little more caffeine, a little less alcohol. Or here's my tip. This is what I like to do. If I'm going to have a little glass of wine, I have a little glass of iced tea between each glass of wine. And that way you stay sober and awake.
Anabe Sofa Advertiser
It's good.

Moving on now from health headlines to a new product designed to make you feel better. You know that stubborn ache that never quite goes away, the one that ice, heat and pain pills barely touch? Well, what if you could target it at the cellular level instead of just numbing it? That's exactly what Therablue was designed to do. That rhymes too. Therablue is the next gen pain relieving peptide gel that works deeper than the skin surface. It is powered by aquamolecular molecular technology. It delivers peptides and botanicals directly to the muscle tissue for legit lasting relief. Its hero ingredient, copper peptide. This promotes collagen synthesis, reduces inflammation and helps accelerate repair. NAD restores cellular energy to aid in recovery. While methylene blue protects your mitochondria and supports endurance. Natural extracts like msm, turmeric, white willow bark, arnica and ginger soothe inflammation while menthol, camphor and eucalyptus oil deliver instant Cooling relief as well. It absorbs fast, leaves your skin refreshed, not greasy. Apply a thin layer, massage until absorbed. Let your body experience lasting recovery. Don't put your fingers in your eye, though. After that, I'm having a feeling that might burn a little. Get 10% off by visiting TWC Health Rav. Use code RAV. Move freely. Again with TheRablue. Click twice. PwC Health Rav. David, you better take over because I can't even talk anymore. I'm tired. I'm tired. Too many carbs already this morning and I haven't even started on the dinner yet.
David Brody
Wait until later. Well, you can. Peptide Blue your pain away. I guess that's right. Peptide your pain away. All right. By the way, moving now, Gina, to a whole different kind of ache and pain. Thanksgiving, a time for families to come together and celebrate. But sometimes family time can be a bit overwhelming, especially if everyone doesn't always see eye to eye on important issues. Don't get me started. For advice on how to keep the quarreling to a minimum tonight at the dinner table is psychiatrist, I can say it, Dr. Carol Lieberman. Dr. Lieberman, thanks for being here. Help me. Help my family. Come quick, quick, Dr. Lieberman, help me.
Dr. Carol Lieberman
My pleasure. My pleasure. Well, first of all, the key is to remember what this holiday is all about. Not just about eating turkey, but remembering to be thankful, to take time, to really have time with yourself, to, to think of all your blessings, write them all down and, and really spend time being grateful. Plus, at the Thanksgiving dinner with your family and friends, you can. That's one of the things that you can talk about, about what each person is thankful for or most thankful for. Now also, when you're inviting people to your dinner, you can tell them that it is a politics free zone, that no talking turkey, just eating it, and then you can make the whole thing kind of fun. For example, every time a person mentions something political, you know, you can make them pay, put a dollar or a quarter or whatever is appropriate for your family into a jar and at the end of the dinner, the host or hostess brings that money to some charity. Then of course.
Dr. Gina
I like that.
Curtis Hauck
Yeah, that's a great idea.
Dr. Carol Lieberman
I mean, you know, it doesn't have to be super expensive. You can, you can, you can regulate it to what is appropriate. But, but yeah, I mean, that's part of the thing is just making it sort of fun, making fun of yourself. The tendency that everybody has, or I'm going to tell them what I think about what's going on in Washington and that kind of thing. Also the key is to have either a deck of cards, not, not, you know, playing cards, but cards where each one has a topic or put out on the table. Some news stories face down that have nothing to do with politics. I know that's hard to find these days, but you can. Or things like that. Again, telling the people what they are thankful for. You're trying to get them to not think about, not give them chance to talk about politics. And you know, as, as Gina, I'm sure you know, as psychotherapists know, if silence is. If you want someone, a patient to tell you what they're really thinking, what they're really upset about, or you give them silence. And in those, in that silence, they get anxious and they start telling you all these things. So you don't want silence at your dinner table or that's when all the politics are going to come in. Now, I'll give you, I mean, I have some other tips, but I'm sure give you a chance to comment.
Terrence Bates
Doc. Doc, I will comment. Because it seems to me that really at the root of what we're talking about is de Escalation, finding ways to de escalate. Because I'm not gonna lie, I come from one of those families where people will walk in the door and say, who made the Mac and cheese? Who made the potato salad? And that can be an escalation in and of itself. The simple question alone can be an escalation.
Dr. Carol Lieberman
Who didn't bring the marshmallows? I love marshmallows.
Terrence Bates
There you go. You've been to my family cookouts. You know us. Yes, ma'. Am.
Dr. Carol Lieberman
Other things are. First of all, you always have to have relaxing music on, you know, like New Age music or classical music that does a lot in the background also, don't you think?
Dr. Gina
Dr. Lieberman, saying what you're grateful for about the other person, that's what we do in my family. We absolutely talk politics and religion at every single meal. Because I think those are the most, most important conversations I can have with my family. But, but you know, we, we are good at not escalating it. But the point is saying what you're grateful for. Don't you think? So about each, each individual person. About, about 20 seconds left.
Dr. Carol Lieberman
Yes, Yes. I was saying to say what you're thankful for in general. But yes, it's even better if you can go around the table and tell each person something that you're grateful for in regard to them. Just, just a couple of other things. Don't get too crazy on drinks giving. That's not what Thanksgiving is about. You know, people, people especially now might drink a lot because they are afraid of what's gonna happen, you know, with politics the next day. And also don't, you know, you're supposed to be thankful for what you have. And don't go crazy on Black Friday either. They take away from Thanksgiving and the real meaning of the holiday.
Dr. Gina
Yeah. And help mom out a little bit. I mean, Thanksgiving and Christmas, those holidays are so great. Moms are so thankful. But wow, the burden of getting all the decorations out, cooking all the meals, cleaning it up, putting all the decorations away, all of that just, you know, I know you, David and Terrence, I know you're both mama's boys and you do all of that stuff flawlessly.
Terrence Bates
Absolutely.
Dr. Gina
But Dr. Kerley.
Terrence Bates
And if I can just add to that, Dr. Gina, also, don't bother the guys when they're watching football.
Dr. Gina
Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Guys, get up off the sofa and help, help your wives, your moms clean. Dr. Carol Lieberman. I must say, fantastic sense of style. You've got me in full on Barbie mode. Now that we are caffeinated, it is time to stay awake, not woke. And today you need to be awake about all of those calories that you're eating. The average American Thanksgiving feast does pack a serious pop punch, often around 4,500 calories in a single sitting. That is about twice as much as the average adult consumes in a whole day. And while that sounds like you won't be fitting into your favorite jeans by Christmas, it just depends on portion sizes and what's actually on the plate. So let's take a look at this traditional Thanksgiving meal. You have your holiday favorites like stuffing, mashed potatoes, pecan pie, but those are actually some of the biggest calorie culprits as well. So let's break this all down down. You can decide which tasty treats make the cut while you indulge this holiday. We'll start with the pecan pie. Just one slice, clocking in at 450 calories. I know it's hard, but try to stay strong. Consider passing on second helpings for dessert. This year. We'll move on to the next thing on our Thanksgiving table, the mashed potatoes. You absolutely cannot forego these, but they're gonna cost you too. You're adding on another 240 calories with that pile of buttery delights. It is my favorite thing on the Thanksgiving table. I actually like to make a pool in my taters with the gravy. That's actually adding on another 25 calories though, so go easy on the gravy this year. A half cup of stuffing is actually one of the healthier sides on the Thanksgiving table. Just be careful on the amount of sodium that you're consuming. Just under 200 calories here. But if you throw in some extra veggies, it could be even better for you. Could be a healthier option. And last but not least, we can't forget the star of the show, the bird. Load up on turkey because that's only about 180 calories of your Thanksgiving meal. When you add in appetizers and festive drinks, the total Thanksgiving calorie intake could get even higher. So make sure that you're staying awake this year. Coming up in our Thanksgiving show is our moment of faith, giving thanks to our Lord and Savior and so much more.
Dr. Carol Lieberman
More.

And Jim of course co wrote a new book with Dr. G called the Days of Creation by teaching children how God made the world. That would be the trinity of books, I believe. By the way, we call him the Bible history guy around here. Jim, good to see you. Happy Thanksgiving. And take it away. I hope you don't overeat. But then again, you know, you, you are and you know I am. And so we'll just leave that right literally on the table. Good morning.

Welcome back, everybody, to the second hour of this special Thanksgiving edition of American Sunrise. I'm David Brody coming to you from D.C. let's bring in Dr. G and Wes Palm T Bates in our Denver newsroom. You know, after this Thanksgiving meal tonight will we all be able to fit in the triple box. I think is really burning question. I'm not convinced it's going to happen. Guys, can I just tell you and Gina, I just want to let you know that we're not having turkey tonight. And don't, don't shame me when I say this. And I can already see T. Bates walking off the set in protest. I'm bringing empanadas.
Dr. Carol Lieberman
What?
David Brody
I kid you not. No, we decided. No, no, we did. No, forget the pilgrims. We decided. No, forget. That's it. I'm bringing empanadas. You know what?
Dr. Gina
We're doing something American. David Brody. I'm very upset about this.
David Brody
Oh, I got a buzzer on the empanadas. I'll see y' all later. Yeah, that's it. I'm done.
Terrence Bates
Whose idea was this? David put it off on someone. I'm giving you an out here. This was not your idea. I'm assuming.
David Brody
Let me throw a few people under the bus. I want to start with. No. Well, me and my wife kind of, kind of concocted this actually, and my daughter in law agreed because I want to be different. And I think outside the box. I think outside the box created the.
Dr. Gina
Other 364 days of the year. David Brody. This is a day we celebrate American heritage and you do it with a turkey.
David Brody
Gina I'm a free thinker. Okay.
Dr. Gina
Terrence, we should both walk off for this.
David Brody
Yeah.
Terrence Bates
I, I, I'm stunned. Doctor. Gina, save me. I'm seeing David in such a different way.
Dr. Carol Lieberman
Light.
Terrence Bates
All right. Well, David, you are the exception to the rule. Because in just a few hours, most Americans are going to be sitting down for their Thanksgiving meal and the plate is going to be piled high with tradition. David. Tradition. The menu rarely changes. A roasted turkey, that's part of the tradition. Also stuffing, creamy mashed potatoes with gravy, green bean casserole, of course, pumpkin pie. All of this is traditional. What's changed though are the prices for this year. The average at home meal for 10 people is going to cost between 60 and 70 bucks. Here's the good news though. Some smart shoppers were able to find a complete holiday feast for under $40 at major stores like Walmart or even Aldi, if you've got one of those in your area. While influence inflation has pushed up the price for individual items, especially the turkey. David Brody. Competition among retailers kept the holiday budget pretty friendly for savvy consumers. And if you're already freaking out about preparing tonight's meal and you have a Thanksgiving culinary crisis. Well, don't panic. The turkey hotlines are open and they're ready to help. The famous Butterball turkey talk line is staffed by over 50 experts who field thousands of calls on Thanksgiving Day alone. Their number or their number? One question, excuse me, is how do I thaw my turkey? And if you're just starting today, you may be in trouble. It's followed closely by how do I know that it's done? You can call them at 800-Butterball or you can text them at 844-877-3456. For food safety concerns, the USDA also runs a meat and poultry hotline that's open from 8am to 2pm Eastern on the holiday. So whether your turkey is still frozen salad or simply won't fit in the oven, help is just a phone call or a text away. And then, of course, there's travel. If you've gotten to your destination via the friendly skies, well, congratulations. Enjoy the day and keep the trip back home out of your mind for a moment. Then again, that may not be such the best idea, especially now that the forecast for the friendly skies won't be so friendly this weekend. Once again, this Sunday after Thanksgiving is expected to be the worst day of the year to fly. TSA data shows that it's consistently the busiest travel day in America. Last year, over 3 million passengers packed airports, which is a record that stood until this past June. This year there is a small break for travelers, though, as airlines are adding nearly a quarter million more seats, about a 2% increase over last year. So even though demand is higher than ever, you might have a little room to breathe this holiday weekend. And here's another tip. Consider staying a little bit longer if at all possible. The Wednesday after Thanksgiving is on, on average, the least busy day to travel post holiday. So if you do have a great boss like we've got here at rav, you may want to consider asking if you can work remotely because you might be able to avoid taking vacation days despite the longer trip. That's a quick check of your headlines. Let's get you back over to Dr. Gina and David. By the way, David, let me just help you out here. It sounds like a call for help since you guys aren't having to. You can come to my house. I got you. If you need me to send you some Zell or something like that to get you a flight, come on. And we will have turkey at my house. I'll help you out. I got you.
David Brody
Please start us apart.
Dr. Gina
You have to have turkey On Thanksgiving. I just. I can't get over this. I'm gonna be just so worried about you this afternoon.
Terrence Bates
Okay, thank you.
Dr. Gina
Empanadas.
Curtis Hauck
What's the.
Dr. Gina
Is that like a Brody family tradition?
David Brody
Well, it is now.
Terrence Bates
It just became one.
Dr. Carol Lieberman
Wow.
Dr. Gina
All right, well, listen, we're going to. We're not done with this conversation. The Joe Biden auto pin scandal is not done either. It hits home just in time for turkey and stuffing that David Brody is not partaking in. Republicans are blasting his use of an automatic automated signature machine to approve major documents claiming it undercut his authority and raises serious questions about who is actually pulling the street in the Biden White House. Let's welcome to American Sunrise, the host of Turning Point tonight, Joe Bob. Joe Bob, first of all, let's get to what's really important. Are you going to have turkey for Thanksgiving?
Joe Bob
So, in listening to the lead up on this, I was trying to wrestle with the idea of appeasing the base and going with turkey or following my heart and agreeing with David. Turkey is overrated, often dry. It obviously depends on how you cook it, but growing up, always dry. And I, you know, I don't want to blame my mother, but at the same time, I just. I've never had a good experience, or at least the good experiences are few and far between. So, yeah, I. If you have the option for other alternatives, go ahead and do that. This is America. It's a free country.
Dr. Gina
So will you be? Will you be.
Terrence Bates
So I'm going to need you to set some extra places. David and Joe Bob are coming over for.
Dr. Gina
Wait, I want to come, though.
Terrence Bates
I don't think you really base the turkey.
Dr. Gina
I'm having fomo, Terrence. All right, Joe Bob, I've got to ask you a serious question, though. Will you be raising a glass or an auto pen this Thanksgiving?
Joe Bob
Well, in the true tradition of the American presidency, an auto pen would have been what I did last Thanksgiving. But this one, obviously, we're raising a glass to that point. You know, if we're actually taking guesses at who was running the White House house, I unfortunately, if I were to put money on it, if there was some online betting system, and then also we would find out the truth, I think my money would go on kjp. I think the identity hire that was the press secretary was actually the one pulling a lot of the strings.
Curtis Hauck
Wow.
Joe Bob
And probably honestly pressing the button on the auto pen itself. I don't know that for sure. All of this is alleged. Don't come after me, kjp. But at the same time, I think the person that we heard from the most is probably responsible for the majority of what happened in the White House, especially considering how bad it was run. I do have on good authority, though, she is a black lesbian immigrant. I did her hear her say that, I believe once. I'm not sure if anybody else had heard that, but I do have it on good authority that she is those things.
David Brody
I did not know that. Thank you for clarifying that. I had no idea. Hey, Joe. Bob, let's. Let's take a serious turn here for a second. I mean, curious what you're. Well, a couple things. I'm curious what you want to give thanks for this year. And there's a lot to give thanks for. And at the same time, of course, I'm thinking about what happened to Charlie in this past year and thinking about Erica, of course, during this time. And yet we still need to be thankful. I know Erica would want us to be thankful for a lot of different things, and I'm just wondering if you can kind of process the kind of the dual emotion track here of being thankful and at the same time, boy, it's been a tough year.
Joe Bob
Yeah, you know, I'm generally the sarcastic, snarky guy, as you know, probably just witnessed, but it, in all honesty, has been unlike any other experience that I think I've ever experienced, but obviously the world has experienced, and I can't help but feel just so many different tragic emotions for Erica and the kids. As far as, you know, being thankful. And not to put this in any sort of positive light, but I think what happened on September 10th was a little, not to be cliche, but a turning point in my life. I always knew I was thankful for my family and for my kids, but at this point, I again, don't want to be cliche and redundant, but I hold them tighter than I ever have, and I'm more thankful for them and my family. And honestly, the. The life that. That Charlie was. Was very influential in every single day. And. And as much as I possibly can be, Charlie provided me with opportunities and opened doors that people can only dream of. I can still only dream of. I can't believe that I'm in this career. Career, and the overwhelming majority of that is because of Charlie. And I'm thankful to him every single day. I'm thankful to Erica and his kids and. And the unbelievable sacrifice that they made for him to defend freedom and defend truth and defend the American way of life. And again, not to be cliche, it's. It's an overwhelming amount of sadness and sorrow and gratefulness and thankfulness to Charlie and the Kirk family over.
David Brody
Yeah, it's from your heart.
Odoo Advertiser
Yep, for sure.
Terrence Bates
Joe Bob, I suspect you're like many of us. You will eat until you can't eat much more, and then you will sit on a couch or on a recliner and start to reflect about life and all that has happened in this past year. I'd like to usher in that reflection a little bit right now, though, and ask you about Gen Z and young Americans and the future, the future engagement that you see in young Americans moving forward, particularly thanks to the influence of a Charlie Kirk.
Joe Bob
Yeah, one if I eat too much, it's pretty much more of the same. Yeah, that's exactly. I think you've laid out my evening, unfortunately, very, very accurately. And as I stare off into the endless yonder, wondering what the next generation is going to be like, I think it's most influenced by the most recent Turning Point Tour. The this Is the Turning Point tour just concluded two weeks ago in Berkeley. And every single one of those stops, I was blown away by the amount of students that were there, the amount of engagement at all of these events. I'll be honest with you, over the course of the last three years, I was touring the country with Charlie for, for three years. And sometimes when you're really close to something, when you're kind of in it, it's hard to gauge how big it has gotten. And earlier this spring we were at Texas A and M and I remember walking out into the audience with the auditorium where we were, and it was like 3,500 people. And that was a moment where I realized. And again, more people realized this sooner than I did. But that was when I realized, holy cow, he has created something that is bigger than I ever thought thought it could possibly be. And that was just reiterated constantly this fall of there are so many people engaged, so many young people engaged, so many Gen zers engaged. And part of it too is this really interesting dynamic of the fact that it's now cool to be into politics. Right. Ten years ago, 15 years ago, if you were the kid in college that was like up to date on Obamacare and understood what the Affordable health. No, that wasn't like you didn't brag about that at parties nowadays. It's like the thing to do on college campuses. And that's, I think, what we saw over and over and over again along this Turning Point. This is the Turning Point tour again that just wrapped this fall. And I think And I hope that that's going to carry into the spring and fall tours this next semester.
Dr. Gina
Yeah. So the new pickup line. Hey, you went to politics. Politics, Right. According to Joe Bob. Joe Bob's rules for dating. Yes. Joe Bob, listen, we appreciate you. Happiest of Thanksgivings to you and your family, and thanks for being with us today.
Terrence Bates
Thanks, Joe.
Joe Bob
Thanks so much for having me. Happy Thanksgiving.
David Brody
Thanks, Joe Bob.
Odoo Advertiser
You, too.
Dr. Gina
Still to come on American Sunrise. Turkey prices soaring this year. Your holiday meal feels it. We're going to show you how to shop, smoke it, beat the bird cost bump that's coming up. Don't go anywhere.
Emily Finn
Welcome back to American Sunrise. I'm American Sunrise contributor Emily Finn. It's great to have you with us this Thanksgiving. Time now to drain the swamp. And this morning, we are flushing out the rising costs to celebrate Thanksgiving. Wholesale turkey prices are skyrocketing to an average of $1.32 per pound this year, up about 40% from the last holiday. The main drivers, a shrinking turkey flock, the smallest in four decades, and a resurgence of bird flu that has hit supplies hard even as wholesalers feel the squeeze. Major retailers like Walmart and also Aldi are still offering meal bundles to keep the holiday table affordable for families. Shoppers are being urged to buy early, freeze their bird, and compare multiple deals because this market is more volatile than normal as food costs climb. This holiday price hike serves as a reminder that inflation still hits home, even at the Thanksgiving table. Let's bring in Dr. Gina, David, and Terence for more. You know, you guys, it's not Thanksgiving without the bird. You got to have the turkey on your table. Table. I think it's certainly disappointing that families may be struggling to put this meal on their table this year.
Dr. Gina
Is that the problem, David Brody, I.
David Brody
Knew you were gonna say that. I was hoping to get away from. I wanted to go to break.
Terrence Bates
Shoot.
David Brody
Yes, that is the problem. I can only afford an empanada.
Terrence Bates
Blame it on the economy, David. Say, you know, prices are just so high that, you know, this year just wasn't the year to go get the bird.
Dr. Gina
Right.
Curtis Hauck
Definitely.
Dr. Gina
Don't blame it on your lack of.
Terrence Bates
Legs or, but, you know.
Dr. Gina
Yeah, don't word. Lack of patriotism. Your lack of sentimental regard for our pilgrims. And they're actually. I don't even think it was turkey, but we think it was turkey. It's all in our minds.
David Brody
I'm sorry, did you not read in the history books growing up that the pilgrims came here and their first meal was empanadas? Did you did you. Did you miss that story? I'm sorry. Oh, thank you very much.
Emily Finn
Turkey empanadas.
Terrence Bates
I'm just kidding.
Emily Finn
Thank you.
Terrence Bates
That was the revision of my history, correct?
David Brody
What's that?
Terrence Bates
That was the revision of my history book. Yeah, I didn't. I didn't get that version. It was the revision. Hey, Emily, actually, I am very curious specifically for you. You've made it clear on this show in the past that, you know, your family is Irish. You guys are Irish families. What do you guys do for Thanksgiving? Like, are you a turkey family as well? Or do you guys have, like, some. Some. Some Irish heritage kind of foods?
Emily Finn
The mashed potatoes are usually the stock of our Thanksgiving dinner. As an Irish family. No, we definitely do it up. I will say, I'm so grateful for my family, with the job that I've had, this career. I have traveled all over the country. I've lived in San Diego. I've lived in Chicago. I've lived in Michigan. Now I'm here in West Palm Beach. They come to me every single year. So we have cooked a turkey in a very small apartment in San Diego, a very small apartment in Chicago. But, my God, they put family first. No matter what. Doesn't matter where we are. We're always taking together.
Joe Bob
That's nice.
Dr. Gina
I like David.
Emily Finn
Thanks for asking, Terence.
Dr. Gina
David, I'm still fascinated. So, what sides for Thanksgiving will you be serving today?
David Brody
Hold on, let me check my text. Gina, I'll tell you exactly what. I don't know. It's a long list of stuff. I don't know. I'll get back to you.
Terrence Bates
Dipping sauces for the empanadas. I can't imagine there's many sides that go with empanadas.
David Brody
Here we go. Mashed potatoes. Oh, no, no, no. Here we go. Mashed potatoes. Salad and empanadas and chips and dip.
Terrence Bates
That's the whole menu?
Joe Bob
No, no, no.
David Brody
There's more. It's a rolling menu. It's coming. There's more coming. But that's what I saw so far.
Dr. Gina
Okay, well, Emily.
Terrence Bates
See, I'm sorry, David, but the greedy me just came out. I was like, that's it. That was the greedy Terrence.
Curtis Hauck
My bad, Emily.
Dr. Gina
I'm just thankful that you're serving a traditional Thanksgiving meal with your family this year.

I just see a chicken on Wall Street. What's happening? What's happening to this show? It went off the rails with empanadas at the top of the hour. Now we're seeing chickens on Wall Street. Welcome back everybody, to American Sunrise. All right, I'm David Brody. Happy Thanksgiving. The stock market closed today, obviously, but for bargain hunters tomorrow. Tomorrow is Black Friday which will soon be followed by Cyber Monday which will be filed file. Nevermind. Okay. Anyhow, it means potential deep discounts and so much more. Join us now with our daily dose of dollars and common sense with American Sunrise early edition host, the guy behind Jake's take substack, Jake Novak with the whole crew today. Jake, good to see you. Happy Thanksgiving. What are your Black Friday and Cyber Monday predictions and expectations? What are you trying to sell me? Are you trying to sell me a wall watch? What's going on?
Joe Bob
I got to watch and I also have a color tv. No. You know, before I get into the actual items that I think are going to be sold, I'm more interested on the platforms. You know, I have been really impressed by how walmart.com and that website has continued to improve to the point now where I think, I think I'm being very objective. I think it's a much better shopping experience than Amazon right now. I really do mean I truly believe that. Which is why Amazon is bugging out by the way. They are now making a deal with ChatGPT to make their website better because Walmart is really is starting to eat their lunch a little bit in the experience. People who have Never been on Walmart.com before try it because I think that's going to be the big winner on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I really believe that that more than anything they're actually selling the platform is what I'm watching.
Dr. Gina
That's really interesting, Jake, because I had joined Walmart, Walmart's whatever, premier club, I don't remember what it was called to get my groceries back during COVID is when this was and they had misdelivered my groceries. My house is very hard to find, thank God. But I mean, you know, Amazon Pulls it off. And you know what? Whenever Amazon misdelivers my things, they'll send it to me free and make up for it. Walmart wouldn't do anything and I spent days and weeks chasing them down and they would not do anything about the fact that they kept misdelivering my stuff and it just cost me the money. So I sort of detached from them. So I'm going to, I might have to give them another chance based on your recommendation because also I hate supporting Amazon for obvious reasons. Does the average American. Jake, with all the economic suffering we're doing out there, thanks to the Biden administration and the influence that it continues to have on our economy, do we have a lot to be thankful for economically as we sit down to our holiday meals this year?
Curtis Hauck
Year?
Joe Bob
Yes, we do. And you know, all of us, including those of us in the more fair news media, have to do a better job of reporting on some of the aspects of the American economy that aren't getting reported on. You know, we just, we'll talk about the prices of things here and there. We do a good job of saying how gas prices have come down and that's great. But the passage of the big beautiful bill included something that we should all really be thankful for. This incredible new tax deduction up to 100% for small business businesses on the business equipment they buy. It could be a laptop, it could be a cash register, you know, one of those stripe things.
Dr. Gina
It could be a boat.
Joe Bob
This is going to be. It has already really boosted a lot of mid sized to small businesses in America.
Dr. Gina
No, it's true. Your boat, your car, I mean some of the things that if you use them for business and you really do, it's amazing the things that can be a deduction, check on it because it really is. You're absolutely right. I was just reading all about this yesterday, Jake and our partner, our advertiser and sponsor, Julio Gonzalez does a lot of that stuff. You can check on that stuff.
Joe Bob
Yeah, it's important to remember we missed, I mean again, I was pounding the table on it. But the first Trump tax bill which basically doubled the standard deduction for people in America who don't itemize their taxes, that was a much bigger reason for the Trump boom in the economy than any gift to billionaires. And don't let the left wing media, media and the people who even aren't even trying to be partisan, but they're ignorant, tell you otherwise. It was things like that. It was also the fact that data became unlimited, data became free on Your cell phone and on your Internet. During the first Trump administration, those two things had much bigger part of it. And this big bit of big beautiful bill and this deduction thing. Remember, job creation in America only comes from mid and small business. Large corporations just move jobs around from one side to the other. There's no net gain. And big corporate jobs in America, it's only small business. And so help to small businesses is how we get jobs created.
Terrence Bates
Jake, the Fed cut interest rates twice this year, which leads to the question as we go into this holiday shopping season whether that's going to really help people cut debt. Because let's just be honest, as we go in towards the Christmas shopping season, even getting through Thanksgiving, a lot of people are putting additional funds on their credit cards cards, which of course are tied to interest rates. Is this ultimately going to help Americans?
Joe Bob
Well, it'll help a little bit. You know, for every point that the Fed cuts interest rates, maybe your credit card gets a quarter point reduction. I mean it's, it really is a slow trickle down to your credit card bill. But that certainly doesn't hurt and I would like to see more of that come down. But what we really need is something to help the supply chains. For some of these companies, a lot of reasons why these prices are higher and you're having to use more, more charge more on your credit card is because the companies themselves are seeing higher costs. Not from tariffs. We've, we've seen all the doom and gloom predictions that the tariffs back in April when they were announced were going to crash the economy. That didn't happen. In fact, some companies are finding ways to reduce their costs in the light of tariffs. But it's still a supply chain issue. We're still having issues with that. We've had all kinds of supply chain issues this year. Look at Ford and the other car companies that have been strangled by that aluminum factory fire in New York earlier this, this year we have to do a better job of protecting our factories, keeping our infrastructure going and keeping that supply chain going that is better than interest rates right now. But interest rates being cut will help people invest in more factories and better supply chain programs. So indirectly, Terrence. Absolutely can help them.
David Brody
Jake, what about these beef prices? These beef prices are through the freaking roof. What's going on there? I mean, you're saying it's not tariffs, it's supply chain or what's going on there? Exactly, exactly.
Joe Bob
Well, we've had local regulations that aren't always federal regulations that have made things difficult for ranchers for A long time. We're seeing some help with that. You know, we had the EPA under Lee Zeldin last week free up some of the American, the water rights rules, which, which affect ranchers, ranchers indirectly. That's going to be a help. But the best thing, David, to help when you see food prices going one way or the other is to boost the consumption of another type of food in the history of the world. When beef prices go up, people start to eat more chicken, and that's what brings down the beef rice. I feel like I'm doing the Chick Fil a commercial with the cows eat more chicken. But, you know, that's really, that's what's going to solve it. And then people will start eating more turkey and then they'll start eating. And that is really what's going to do it. But there are a lot of regulations that, well before the tariffs come in, there have been a lot of regulations in the ranching industry industry that make things difficult for them. I think that the Trump administration has cut some of them. And he's, that's one of the reasons why he's asking them to support him on the whole tariffs of, and the importation of some people because he's, you know, he's helped them at other and other avenues. But ultimately, it's going to be up to you and me, the consumers. We need to eat more chicken. I want you to have chicken six times a day and then call me Jake.
Terrence Bates
Are you also expecting that more Americans will pivot to empanadas now as a relationship?
Dr. Gina
I was going to ask how are the empanada?
Terrence Bates
We're right here, Dr. D. You and me, right here.
Dr. Gina
I'm very upset about that little cow they were dragging across our screen.
David Brody
Jake, We've run out of time. Apparently.
Dr. Gina
David just doesn't want us to talk about empanadas. But, Jake, one thing I really want to ask you because, you know, we hear a lot of class warfare happening all the time, and it bothers me because it punches every single time anybody does anything to hurt the rich. It sounds so good, like we all want revenge for some reason if we don't consider ourselves the rich. Right. But the problem with it is these big CEOs and these big companies, when they're hit with something, they don't just take a smaller paycheck, they just hire fewer people. Can you talk to us for just a moment about some of the things that are happening now, some of the things that happened under the Biden administration that eliminated jobs because they hit the rich or because they're handing out money to maybe lower and middle class families. But all that really does is devalue our dollar. Talk about that for a moment.
Joe Bob
Yeah. There's two things I want everyone to remember. This is really important. First, a secular thing. And then Thanksgiving, which I think is a quasi religious holiday. I'll bring in a little bit of a religious message. First is a secular thing. You know what the minimum wage is? You know what the minimum wage has been since the year zero and is the. Now the minimum wage is zero. No one is required to hire anyone in America or pay them anything. That's the minimum wage. That's always been the minimum wage. It will always be the minimum wage. And so when you heavily tax a company or a very wealthy person, they don't have to pay their workers more. They can just lay them off.
Curtis Hauck
Yeah.
Joe Bob
They can just decide not to do less business. They can be like Smaug in the Hobbit movie and just sit on top of money. And also, I think that there's a conflation in America between the workers words, jealousy and resentment. Jealousy isn't always a bad thing, especially if it spurs you to do good things. But Gina, what you're talking about is resentment. If I can't have it, I don't want the rich people to have it either. And I just hate them. And I don't really care whether I gain or not. This is the story of Cain and Abel. Cain wasn't looking for God's grace. He was just angry at Abel and wanted him to die. And that didn't do anything for anybody in the garden of even Eden or whatever. Outside of east of Eden. Their economy crashed because of Cain's crime, let's put it that way.
Dr. Gina
Wow.
David Brody
Well, look at that.
Dr. Gina
I can't believe you did that in the short amount of time you did that in Jake. That was.
David Brody
That was.
Dr. Gina
That was phenomenal. Absolutely.
Terrence Bates
It was pretty good.
David Brody
That was great. We did tariffs and beef and the Bible and great stuff. And. Thank you, Gina. Oh, my.
Terrence Bates
Thank you, Dr. Gina. Thank you, Jake.
David Brody
We've. We've got to go. And we are back with the more of this Thanksgiving edition of American Sunrise that is clearly off the rails in a.
Dr. Carol Lieberman
A moment.
Dr. Gina
Don't you hate when they cue you on air and you're about to sneeze?
Curtis Hauck
Ah.
Dr. Gina
All right, welcome. Did you know there's a little. If you hold your finger right here under your nose and press down if you're feeling a sneeze coming, it really does Cancel the sneeze. Try it. I'm telling you what. Let me know if it works for you. Welcome back to American sunrise. I'm Dr. G. Thanks for joining us this Thanksgiving morning. We invite you to hop in our conversation, tell us what you're thankful for on YouTube. Getter and rumble. It is time now to take the political pulse of America and the beat. Today, Paramount and their stunning decision to name the Free Press's Bari Weiss as he CBS News editor in chief, signaling a major shift away from any liberal bias toward the network's editorial decisions. Analysts say the move shook the media industry this year and it shows CBS News is at least trying to reduce perceived bias and rebuild trust. But insiders report growing tension and uncertainty among longtime staff. Weiss's unique background outside broadcast media could bring fresh energy and new audiences. But success will depend on whether she can unite the newsroom and deliver unbalanced coverage that resonates with viewers. Terrence, you think this is going to make a difference at all? Because listen, if CBS truly became a little more balanced, I'm telling you, it would have ripple effects in media, in the entire industry.
Terrence Bates
Yeah, if that were to happen, I'm not so sure it will. I'm not so sure it's going to happen immediately, let me put it that way, simply because you've got a lot of old timers, a lot of longtime people who are entrenched in that sort of coverage, in that sort of liberal biased coverage. And you know, changing infrastructure goes beyond just the leadership. It also means that you have to try to get to the rank and file. So David, I'm not so sure that this is going to make a splash in the short term, long term, potentially. But for now I suspect that CBS is going to be much of the same. Just my thoughts, I'd love to hear your.
David Brody
I think, yeah, I think overall you're right. However, there is a self deportation aspect.
Joe Bob
To all of this.
David Brody
I mean, we've seen, you know, what's his name, that anchor, oh gosh, John, I forgot his name now. He left CBS anyhow, I forgot his name.
Dr. Gina
That's okay. No one else knows it either. David, that's true.
David Brody
That's a good point. But there's quite a few folks that have left CBS saying, yeah, no, Bari Weiss is here, I'm out. So there could be a self deportation aspect to this and that's a good thing. And you know, a lot of these mainstream media journalists, okay, they're liberal journalists, they're going elsewhere and they're just doing their Own product and their independent. And we saw this with Megyn Kelly. Now, she's conservative, but we saw this with Chuck Todd. And, you know, they leave and they get out and they own their own stuff. And this is kind of the wave of the future. But on a separate note, I got a sneeze. So what do I do, Gina? I press down.
Dr. Gina
You press. You just put your finger here, right under your. No, right on your top lip and you just press. It is amazing. Try. It might be psychosomatic, but it still works. Yeah.
David Brody
Thank you.
Dr. Gina
Yeah. Well, for more reaction and fewer sneezes, let's welcome in Curtis Hauck. He's the managing editor of News Busters at the Media Research Center. Curtis, you weighed in on this move from CBS extensively. You're not really buying this is going to be as major as maybe conservative can hope?
Curtis Hauck
I mean, I'm with Terrence and David, I think not immediately, but it's certainly possible. David brings up an interesting point about self deportation. That's certainly true. You've had a number of executives who've left this year along with John Dickerson. Is his.
David Brody
John Dickerson, that was it. Oh, gosh, yes.
Curtis Hauck
A Nepo baby. John Dickerson, daughter of Deborah Dickerson, one of the first female White House correspondents, by the way. But, you know, so the way I view this is, is something had to happen. You know, something had to change. At cbs, you're not just a liberal network. You're stuck in last place in terms of the broadcast network. So people other than 60 Minutes weren't really buying what you were selling. So the way I view it with Barry Weiss is she should be allowed to come in and enact any sort of change. And again, guys, we're not asking them to suddenly become conservative media to join us, although we certainly wouldn't mind it. But we're just asking them to view conservatives, we, the people, as people with good ideas, with inherent dignity and worth listening to and not being the subject of ridicule, maybe cover a wide variety of stories instead of just the same ones that everyone else is looking at. You know, because who knows? You know, because you've been stuck in last place for so long and you've gone through this churn of anger bankers. Why not bring in someone from outside the organization like Barry Weiss to run the shop? You know, she has a unique management structure as editor in chief. She reports directly to the Ellisons at Paramount, not to this president of CBS News. So I think the changes that she made, it'll work over time or she'll go the way of Chris Licht at cnn. You'll fall. Because as Terence brings up the rank and file, that is a huge issue. The inmates, if they still think they're running the asylum, how dare you come in and try to mess up our thing. We all know how vindictive liberal journalists can be.
David Brody
Yeah. Speaking of liberal journalists and the inmates running the asylum, let's talk about some of these outlets and who are, who are you least thankful for out of all these outlets? Who are you least thankful for? Like in other words, who are the worst offenders out there? And remember, I was got plans for Thanksgiving meal in about six hours. So if you could just like keep it to six hours worth of commentary, that would be great.
Curtis Hauck
Curtis. Yeah, I want to be able to have my dad smoke turkey on his big green egg too. So yes, msnbc. Oh, now, I should say Ms. Now, guys. A few weeks ago they went bye bye and they became Ms. Space now, you know, but that's always, that's a very easy answer. So I'm going to go with ABC News, George Stephanopoulos, the pomposity of this network, you know, they're all covering it as I've laid out the same sorts of stories. They have the all the same kinds of bias. But whether it is the government shutdown or the Epstein scandal or any number of things they tried to hit President Trump with over the past year, ABC has always been the worst because they dial everything up to a 12 out of 10. They always try to frame things as being norm shattering and somehow Trump is a threat to America itself, itself, which is kind of ironic considering the way the left has treated this country for the last few decades as their own personal playground, not something that they are simply stewards of and to pass on to other generations.
Dr. Gina
But I can second the ABC as somebody who did little reality TV with them. But BBC, I don't want to forget what they did. And obviously they're not American, but still a lot of Americans listen to them and what they did in terms of absolutely editing our president, I thought was just shameful.
David Brody
TERRENCE well, can I just say something about that for a second because everybody's talking about the BBC, which of course they should. What about all the other networks, Curtis that took out peacefully and patriotically, and I say took it out, I mean they purposely never say said that part on the January 6th.
Curtis Hauck
Or how about the Charlottesville?
David Brody
Charlottesville. Oh, that's perfect.
Dr. Carol Lieberman
Go ahead.
Dr. Gina
Yeah, Charlottesville.
Curtis Hauck
Yeah, exactly. I mean, I think that's the OG the editing scandal of, you know, the truck. President Trump's time on the political stage. I mean, you just think, I feel like that would have been the main story. We've gotten so much more legs out of that. Or the left would have if it weren't for Russia gate that they had come up with that years later. And then, yes, with the President Trump. President Trump's remarks on January 6th. You guys are all in television. You've been in television a long time. You understand that what happened was so egregious and so wrong. It doesn't take a lot of time to do a simple screen wipe or some sort of graphic to denote, you know, that you were jumping, you know, to later in the President's remarks. Instead of taking remarks nearly an hour apart and smashing them together and making it seem like a coherent thought. This was intentional and it was a documentary. This wasn't some sort of, you know, last minute breaking news segment. This was something where it's a documentary. There were many cooks in the kitchen. This took time and was approved by a number of people before it started solve airtime. So the President is right to be angry and to target them because this kind of thing should never happen. And you're right, Dr. G. And people trust the BBC because I feel like the British accent gives a little node of credibility, even though they don't deserve it.
Dr. Gina
Yeah, I think it feels really personal to people like us, don't you, Curtis and David and Terrence, because we were the ones who were standing there watching this going, going. We have to tell the truth. But you felt like you were crazy. You felt like you were a lone voice in the wilderness out there trying to tell the truth while all of the lamestream media was in this chorus of lies to try to change an election.
Curtis Hauck
Yeah, yeah. I would just say, I mean, it's interesting that some, you know, just because an explanation may take more than five seconds doesn't mean it's conspiracy theory. I mean, I'll just say that, you know, you start with the Charlottesville thing to try to explain what was going on with the way people felt about statues in this country. You know, the left just automatically dismisses it outright, is, you know, it's easy to say racist and try to end the discussion.
Terrence Bates
Yeah, Curtis, we appreciate your time. By the way, I'm a little triggered you said cooks in the kitchen. And then I realized, oh, David Brody's not to going cooking. They were ordering empanadas in for Thanksgiving. Just a little bit triggered there. Curtis, always good to see you, my friend. Enjoy your Thanksgiving.
Curtis Hauck
Thanks. Happy Thanksgiving to you guys. Very grateful for all you guys do.
Dr. Gina
Grateful for you.
David Brody
Appreciate you.
Terrence Bates
Thank so much. Still ahead here on American Sunrise. Yes, we're we're going to continue to raz David Brody about having empanadas today. But the bigger question, who started the the presidential turkey pardon and was that ever done with an auto pin? Yeah, we'll go ask Joe Biden about that as we uncover the surprising origins behind this Thanksgiving tradition. We're back in a moment.

Let's spill some tea.
Terrence Bates
Let's spill some tea. Is fueled by Artillery Tea Company. It's the only America first veteran owned tea brand out there. Their mission is to maximize flow flavor with whole leaf blends and chemical free tea bags. We're talking no junk here, just real tea. And the tactical advantage is that each bag brews not just once but twice. Go to artillerytco.com and use the code Liberty for 20% off of your first order. That's artillerytco.com it's premium tea that's mission driven, brewed for the brave, and it's very, very good tea. We're fans in my household. All right, let's get things over to Emily Finn now. Emily, good morning.
Emily Finn
Good morning, Terrence and happy Thanksgiving. It is time now to spill some tea. And in the cup today, the story of how the annual presidential turkey pardon began. It's one of the most beloved and bizarre traditions in American history. The turkey pardon was formalized in 1989 by President George H.W. bush, who declared that the presented bird will not end up on any anyone's dinner table. Earlier, presidents like John F. Kennedy spared a Turkey in 1963 with the words let's keep him going. But the event had not yet become an annual ceremony. The origins trace back even further to Abraham Lincoln's era when his son begged him to spare a bird. Though it remains more of an anecdote than a formal tradition, today the White House presents two turkeys each year and officially pardons them to symbolize gratitude, agricultural heritage, heritage and American bounty. As Thanksgiving approaches, this lighthearted ceremony has become a holiday staple, proof that even in times of seriousness, American values. America rather values a moment to celebrate and give thanks. I love this tradition. Let's bring in Dr. Gina, David and Terrence for more. Gina, I know you do a lot of traveling overseas as well. Everyone that I talk to in Europe says that this is the craziest thing about America that we do this.
Dr. Gina
Oh, really? Oh, wow. No one's commented on that to me. But My question is because I've always wondered this, and I'm hoping that one of you knows the answer to this, and maybe I just asked ChatGPT. Sometimes you don't think of that when you're from my generation, Gen X. But I just wonder, is it a permanent pardon? Like, how long do these turkeys get to live? Emily, do you know the answer is, is it just this year? Like, are they back on the chopping block next year? What happens to the turkeys? What happens.
Emily Finn
I think they just die of natural causes. David Brody, fill us in. You are there in D.C. gosh.
David Brody
Well, that's a good question. There are a lot of turkeys here in D.C. so that's. Thank you for coming to me on that. I have no idea. I've got. I've got no clue. But I have some other trivia. Can I. Can we just trivia while we're at it? Does anybody want to guess what the average number of guests for a Thanksgiving meal?
Dr. Gina
That's a great question.
David Brody
You can't go over. It's like bracelet, right?
Terrence Bates
Don't go over.
David Brody
Don't go over. 17. All right, Gina.
Dr. Gina
I mean, in my house, it's like 20, but I have a big family, so I'm thinking 10.
David Brody
10. Okay, Emily, what are you saying?
Emily Finn
Gosh, I. I think it's actually probably more than that. I mean, I have a really big family as well, so probably 15. I'm gonna go with 15.
Joe Bob
Okay.
David Brody
All good guesses? 11. 11 is the answer.
Dr. Gina
I guess 10.
Emily Finn
I think Gina was the closest 10.
Terrence Bates
Dr. G. Was.
David Brody
You win. You win. An empanada.
Dr. Gina
That was coming. I knew that was coming. The presidentially pardoned turkeys live out a very cushy retirement, but where they go has changed over time. They are not eaten. Okay. They are transported to a partner sanctuary. So that's nice. The sanctuary sounds good.
Dr. Carol Lieberman
That's nice.
Dr. Gina
And they do live out their life in specially designed barns or enclosures just for them. They become a tourist destination.
David Brody
Are you going to adopt all we.
Emily Finn
Got to keep the tradition alive? We do want to know what our viewers think about all of this? Let us know on Rumble or Getter. Hop on and let your voice be heard. Still to come on American Sunrise, we're going around our RAV family Thanksgiving table to share all the things that we're grateful for this year. Stay with us.
Dr. Carol Lieberman
Sam.
Terrence Bates
What is this? Empanada. Thanksgiving music.
David Brody
What is this?
Dr. Gina
It is. I specifically requested a little more country music because Emily has taken us to where all of our intros and Outros are rock, and I'm not okay with that. I like rock, but I want a little more country. And I just forgot to specify what country, David. So by default of your empanadas, here we are.
David Brody
Can I just say something real quick on the empanadas? Let me just say I was going to FedEx. FedEx you and Emily. You're fine, your hands are clean and all this, but Terence and Gina, I was going to. I was going to FedEx you guys an empanada. And now I'm going to send it by snail mail. I'm going to. I'm going to send. Three weeks, you'll have an empanada. It'll be a little moldy and.
Dr. Gina
Yeah, I'm getting left out on the.
Emily Finn
David Brody empanada after this show. I need to try one.
David Brody
You get a FedEx? No, I'm FedExing an empanada to Emily. But you guys get three week delivery. Gina and Terrence, as long as it.
Terrence Bates
Doesn'T arrive on Thanksgiving, I'm okay with that.
Dr. Gina
So, anyway, as for our pardoned turkeys, Last year's pardon turkeys, Peach and blossom from the Biden administration. They're in Waseca, Minnesota. They have become agricultural ambassadors. So there's an appointment. You can go see them if you happen to be crossing through Wasaka, Minnesota. Listen, I know they're grateful for that pardon. David Brody, what are you the most grateful for this year?
David Brody
Oh, wow. I'm sorry. I was thinking about. Did he sign. Use the auto pen for those parts?
Curtis Hauck
Sorry.
David Brody
What am I most grateful for? Sorry. I'm so sorry. Well, you know, it's so trite to say family, but can I just tell you, and Joe Bob was saying this earlier, which really hit me, which is when Charlie Kirk. When it happened with Charlie Kirk, it made me really take stock of what's important. And it was like a shock to me. And I was like, oh, my gosh. My family. I mean, I just. You hold them closer. So there you go.
Dr. Gina
Yeah.
Terrence Bates
Terrence, you know, David, if I may just kind of interject for your family. My sister in law is here with us and my mother in law. And as you were dealing with your daughter this year, I was telling you that my sister in law at a very young age was dealing with a cancer diagnosis. And so I'm thankful that you and your family are on the other side of it now and that you guys are being able to move forward. I am thankful for that, for you and your family.
Dr. Gina
Me, too. Very thankful for that.
Emily Finn
Absolutely. Family is everything.
Terrence Bates
Thank you, T. Love you, brother.
Dr. Gina
And what are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?
Curtis Hauck
Gosh.
Emily Finn
Well, family, of course. I mean, we've already talked about that. But no, I will say I'm really thankful for my Catholic faith this year. This year has been such a journey, a faith journey for me. I got to go to Rome and I saw I got closer to my devotion to the divine mercy. My Catholic faith is so, so important to me, and I'm so thankful that I've been able to grow closer to God this year.
Dr. Gina
I think that's a great point, Emily. As our religious freedoms are threatened around the world, 22 countries, the Bible is either banned or restricted. I think it is a great year to be thankful for our faith and for those who step out courageously in it. You guys will be back with you tomorrow? Of course. Course. So we're not going anywhere? Don't you go anywhere either. We love celebrating our holiday seasons with you. War room coming up next. Hug your children. Love God, be thankful. Go boldly now and live the truth.
Terrence Bates
And enjoy your empanadas. David.
Dr. Gina
Yes.
David Brody
Happy Thanksgiving, everybody.
Terrence Bates
Happy Thanksgiving.
Dr. Carol Lieberman
This is an I heart podcast.
