Steve Griffin
Welcome to America's Voice Live. I'm Steve guerre. It's Thursday, the 27th of November, in the year of our Lord 2025. Thank you for joining us on today's special Thanksgiving edition here on America's Voice Live. We've got a great show planned for you today, so let's jump right in, shall we? You ready to go? Because I am. We kick off today's Thanksgiving special by first and foremost wishing all of our viewers you a very happy Thanksgiving and a bit of a history lesson, too. All right. As we surely remember, the story starts out with the arrival of the pilgrims who sailed in the Mayflower to escape from religious persecution and found refuge and friendship with many of the local natives. Furthermore, after a bountiful harvest season, both groups got together and shared in a festivity where each person brought something to the table for everyone to indulge in, or what is commonly known as the first Thanksgiving, a sign of good faith and just giving a moment of thanks for a lasting friendship. Here with me to discuss is the executive director of The Providence Forum, Dr. Jerry Newcomb. Doctor, thank you for being here.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Thank you, and happy Thanksgiving.
Steve Griffin
Steve, Happy Thanksgiving to you, my friend. Look, it's a time for family, for friends, for faith, which those that came to the shores early in the new World, they carried faith of several different kinds. But that was all part of the combination when they got together at that first Thanksgiving. Lay it out for us, would you?
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Sure. Well, the pilgrims were basically a Group of Christians that were an individual congregation in mid England, who they formed in 16 or thereabouts. They made a covenant as they became a congregation, but they received so much persecution and pushback that they finally left to Holland. They were able to go there. They were there for about a dozen years, but they were getting older and they wanted to retain the Christian unity. So they found there was an opportunity to go to the New World. So they had the famous voyage of the Mayflower. And they also had some hired hands who were with them, understanding. The hired hands understood, hey, we're going to be a part of this Christian commonwealth as well. But they were blown off course. And so they were not actually landing in the northern parts of Virginia, which is where they were going to. And so what they ended up doing before they set one foot on American soil, the Pilgrims took that same type of covenant that they had made together years ago when they became an individual congregation. And they politicized it. It's called the Mayflower Compact. And it became the first step to the US Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, which predates it by 11 years. And they said, we came for the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian faith, and we do covenant and combine ourselves into a civil body politic. So once they settled that issue to make sure that everybody was on board with the same mission, then they came and they experienced a lot of hardships in the New World, but they were able to make new friends with the Indians, a nice beautiful treaty of peace. And then with the harvest in 1621, they said thank you to God. And one last thing, Steve, if I may. That first winter was so difficult for them that about half of their numbers died. And yet after that horrible winter, which they survived, they still wanted to say thank you to God. So they gave thanks to God in all circumstances. And I think that's a beautiful lesson for all of us.
Steve Griffin
I mean, the punishment, the hardship, the clothing they had was not what they needed. They were ill prepared for what they faced, weren't they?
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Yes, in many ways they were. And it's interesting though, I once talked with a professor named Dr. Donald Lutz of the University of Houston, and he wrote a book called the Origins of American Constitutionalism. And he was talking about the Pilgrims and the Puritans and all these different groups that used the biblical concept of covenant to frame their governments. And he said that's what ultimately leads to the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution. He said, these poor people, they came with the wrong technology. They even had roofs or Things like that, or portions thereof prepared. And none of these technologies seemed to work. Their plows even didn't work. What did work was this biblical concept of making covenants together to form themselves into a civil body politic. It was the perfect technology. And so to me, that's the real lesson of the Pilgrims.
Steve Griffin
Yeah. And they did create these relationships, at least early on, with the tribes that met them there on the shores of the Atlantic. And they built the foundation, as you say, they built the foundation for this country that is now 250 years old. Of course, they arrived much earlier than that. What else can we take from the Pilgrims? What else can we take from their experience from? I mean, just the intestinal fortitude, the discipline, the mental toughness to make it through all of that.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
That's very true. And I think this is where their faith in Jesus really bored all out. You know, for years, they were basically having to have their services in secret. And if somebody found out, they could be punished. And they were. Sometimes they even went to jail. Now, when they finally made it over into America, they were in a situation, as far as the Indians are concerned, where there had been some sort of pl had taken place in the Plymouth area about, I don't know, a dozen years or so before, and it had killed about 95% of the Indians. So the ones that were there that were left, the Pilgrims, were able to befriend them. And they also made a treaty of peace that lasted more than 50 years. It outlasted all of them. And that was really quite an exemplary thing. And in fact, their liat leader, the Indians leader Massasoits, was even sick with the plague. And one of the Pilgrims, Edward Winslow, gathered some herbs and so forth, and he was on his way a long, long walk to get to Massasoitz. And he was met halfway, and he was told, no, sorry, the guy is dead. And he said, well, let's. Let's go ahead and try this anyway. And he went there and he was able to treat him and pray for him, and he got better. And that was, you know, one of the things that. That helped cement this wonderful friendship. And I think the Pilgrims give us a good example of getting along with different people and showing a lot of religious tolerance, but while always maintaining their own faith. And that faith in Jesus was. Was the key to the whole thing.
Steve Griffin
Doctor, I always get a little amused when I hear people say, I want to live off the land. I want to be one with nature. You know, one with nature doesn't come with restrooms. And running water and heat and electricity. It comes with none of those things. These are 102 people that land on the shores in 1620. The first Thanksgiving, 1621 second permanent colony. Of course, Jamestown was first a few years before that. But they brought a lot of craftsmen and talented people with them because that helped create the ability to build a cabin, to build, you know, some infrastructure, very basic, some of it crude, but effective. Right?
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Yes. And they, they were set back because they're. Initially there were two ships. The other one was the Mayflower, which they rented, and then the other was the Speedwell, which they owned, but the Speedwell proved on. On seaworthy because that set them back so many weeks. They landed when the winter was beginning, and so it made it so difficult. So initially they couldn't even build anything, you know, because it was so cold.
Steve Griffin
But.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
But eventually, even though, you know, again, about half their number died, they. They were able to, especially when the spring came, they were able to make. Make these different buildings and, and then meet the Indians. And the Indians showed them. There was one man in particular named Squanto, who knew English and he knew his native tongue as well, and so therefore he could translate for them. He was the one that even helped them as they were making their treaty of pe. Able to speak together as a group. But yes, they had different craftsmen and so forth. And one last thing, if I may. It's interesting how America is dabbling with this idea of socialism and the idea that you can get free stuff from the government and so forth. The people back in England who had funded the voyage of the Mayflower imposed upon them a sort of. Of communism or communalism, where it doesn't matter how hard you work, everybody will have everything in common. It sounds Christian and so forth, but in reality what it did was it undercut the incentive for harder work. And so initially they were able to trudge through to, you know, under that arrangement. But when their governor, William Bradford, saw this really wasn't working very well, it undercut incentives. He changed things around. And a lot of different people to have different plots of land justly distributed and so forth, and everything they bought, by the way, they paid a fair price to the Indians. And to this day, the deeds of all that can be found in Plymouth, Massachusetts. But so anyway, when Governor Bradford said, okay, this is your land, you work it and you get the profits and so forth, all of a sudden the productivity just shot up. And America's first foray or second foray, I guess, because you could say there was a type of for into socialism in Jamestown earlier as well. It never works. It will never work because it never works. Undermines human nature. It works against human nature.
Steve Griffin
Never works. Some of the first things that grew corn, beans, squash taught to them by the Indians, how to grow these crops, a very important thing to start agriculture in America. And you know, this is just an important time. Here's one other myth, though. People don't realize that was the first Thanksgiving, but it was not something that became common into the middle of the 1800s. It was a long time before it became a common practice. I'll give you the last word. Dr.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Surely. And it's interesting. Our Virginian friends will say, wait a minute, the first Thanksgiving in America was in 1619, you know, in Jamestown at the Berkeley Plantation. But the American tradition of Thanksgiving gets back to the Plymouth one in 1621. So that's the prototypical Thanksgiving. George Washington, first president under the U.S. constitution, declared a day of Thanksgiving in November 1789. But half a century later or whatever, 70 years later, Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War, he's the one who made Thanksgiving an annual holiday. And when you think about it, Steve, doesn't that really remind you that the people who founded this country, they wanted us to remember God because he's the source of our rights. Even our Declaration of Independence, which is what we're celebrating in the 250th anniversary, it says, hey, our rights come from the Creator and when the rights come from the Creator, they're non negotiable. And this is an important point of the American experiment.
Steve Griffin
And they're not given to me by some other man. They come to me from something much more powerful. Dr. Really appreciate you being here. Happy Thanksgiving to you.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Thank you. Steve, to you and yours.
Steve Griffin
What a great story. And it's just fun, isn't it? Coming up after the break, I'll shift to a more theological topic centering around faith and the driving force behind so many new found conversions. More on that coming up on America's Voice. Live.

Well, as you know, faith has always been a topic where supporters and detractors are set in their ways, leaving most to just leave it as it is. Well, in recent years, hard the topic of faith, specifically Christianity, has been at the forefront of dialogue thanks to the way in which information is shared across social media platforms, which unsurprisingly is leading to a global exposure to faith based ideas from conventional and unconventional sources too. Additionally, the elevated prevalence of secular talking points and ideals invokes one to think about the concept of morality and whether turning to Christ can save them from a world that seems to be so out of control. Join me to discuss this, the author of the Coming American Revival, Chris Widener. Chris, nice to see you today. Great to see you too. Thanks for having me on. Yeah. In the season of Thanksgiving, there has been a shift in America. Church attendance since September 10, when Charlie Kirk was murdered, is up. 15 to 20% more Bibles being downloaded, 40% increase in Bible sales from bookstores. Christian apps are being downloaded. It's a big deal, isn't it? Yeah, it is. You know, the first thing that comes.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
To my mind is one of the early church fathers coined a phrase.
Steve Griffin
He said, the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church. And when you look around the world, you see lots of countries where it's it's illegal to be Christian, but they're growing because what, what happens when you're persecuted?
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Whether it's to death or it's just.
Steve Griffin
You know, you lose your jobs or Whatever, it weans out the, the light Christians, the, the sort of carnal Christians.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
And it, it's, it says, I've got.
Steve Griffin
To be serious about my faith because there are serious ramifications of this. And I think what happened with Charlie's death was people said this guy was.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Faithful to the point where they killed him for it.
Steve Griffin
And I better take a look at my own life and decide whether or not this is that important to me. And as you've seen across social media, people going to church for the first time and shooting videos about it, it's exciting times. It's unfortunate it had to come on the heels of Charlie's death, but it's exciting times because people are recognizing the importance of faith. I am concerned, though, about something, Chris, because I see a lot of people that are doing cheerleading and rah rah and feel good and stuff. Stuff. But I feel like a lot of those folks are missing the point of taking Christ as their personal savior. I think that we have to make sure that we're giving them scriptural truth. What do you say? Yeah. You know, Dietrich Bonhoeffer wrote a book.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Called the Cost of Discipleship, and in.
Steve Griffin
There he talked about cheap grace. It's those who say, well, okay, Jesus, everything else is going well and now I can go to heaven for free. Okay, Jesus is my guy.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Right.
Steve Griffin
But they don't understand the cost of discipleship, which is giving up the things that we might normally typically do or.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Might be rooted in our sinful nature.
Steve Griffin
Or all these things. And we have churches that are just loaded with feel good sermons and feel good this and feel good that and programs and. And such. I believe that now is the time to say, hey, faith is serious. Jesus said that we can't turn around and look for where we came from because we wouldn't be worthy of the gospel. And so once we make that commitment to Christ, we have to understand what that calling means. And the Bible says we have to live worthy of the calling that we've received. Received. Yeah. To be worthy to take Christ, I mean, in order to be there, you have to take Christ as your personal savior. That's what Christianity is, period. Right? Yep. Yeah. It's not by works, it's only by grace. The book of Ephesians, chapter two says, not anything good that you've done. It's the free gift of God. But when God gives us that gift, he says, now I've got a course that I want you to follow. I want you to give up all the old stuff that you've Done. The, the lying, slander, the greed, the, you know, the, the fornication, the adultery, all those kinds of things. And live a life of purity. Because ultimately the Bible says God gave us a command, be holy. Because I'm holy. Not because it's better for you, but.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Because it reflects the nature of God.
Steve Griffin
Yeah, it reflects the nature of God. You have to, you can't just talk the talk, Chris. And that's part of my concern now, having said that, that exposing as many people as possible to the Word, going to a Bible believing church, something that Charlie said a lot and I agree with, these are things that are, these are good steps, but they don't complete the journey. But you have to start by exposing as many people as possible to the word, right? I mean, you have to start and so if you can open the door, maybe it's a revival. Some people don't like that. Bad idea. I don't care what you call it. A reawakening, an introduction to Christianity, however you want to look at it, opening the door, giving somebody the revelation of, hey, you should read this. You should read this book, the bestselling book in the history of the world, the Holy Bible. You should read it and immerse yourself in it. What do you say to that? Yeah, I love the word revival because when you break it down into its root, re means again and viva means life. It just simply means come to life again. Which is why we're putting on that revival next May 3rd in Jacksonville. Revival250 believe that in the 250th anniversary of America, yes, we should celebrate our.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Military and celebrate our success and celebrate our history.
Steve Griffin
But we should also recognize the God who inspired people to come here in the first place to establish a, a country of freedoms rooted so much, so many of our laws are rooted in biblical values and biblical teaching. And so many people have gotten away from that through Marxism and socialism and, and the left wing kinds of ideas that we need to call the church back to, to becoming alive again. We need to say we are an important, significant part of this country and it's time for us to step up and lead. And so the revival people can find out about it. Revival250.com the revival is specifically to call the church back to repentance and to restoration and to living the abundant life that God called us to do. Reaching the masses with the gospel of Jesus. Revival250.com you can check it out for yourself. The book, the Coming American Revival will be discussed here. Chris, really good talking to you. Today in this season of Thanksgiving, we should give thanks to our creator as it's absolutely. Thank you. Absolutely. Thanks for having me on, Steve.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
I appreciate it.
Steve Griffin

Well, the markets in general have been gaining a lot of attention to President Trump's second term in office due to his 2024 campaign zeroing in on the cost of living for Americans. During his campaign in 24, President Trump maintained that Americans would see instances of lower costs on general goods and lowering of energy sources and costs. A statement that was made to address the regular everyday consumer. And for the business sector, President Trump campaigned on deregulation to ensure manufacturing can get more done and cut across the red tape. Here with me to discuss the state of the markets under President Trump's second term is the founder of Geltrude and Company, America's accountant, Dan Geltrude. Dan, thank you for being here.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Hey, Steve. Howard. You?
Steve Griffin
I'm good. I think it's safe to say we have mixed results. The, the markets have done very well. But when you look at certain things, coffee is, well, coffee is up 19% and beef is up 14% and orange is up 14%. But other things are down. Gas is less expensive, but I see electricity costs, they continue to go up. So it is a, it's a mixed bag, isn't it?
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Yeah, it really is. You know, when, when you look at how costs have impacted different areas of the economy, yeah, it's all over the place. But I have to say one of the real key areas here, specifically to energy, is with oil.
Steve Griffin
Right.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Because everything that we have gets there using oil. And because of that, when oil prices are down, which means gasoline and fuel is down, down, that really helps provide some relief, even though we're still seeing inflation. I would tell you this, it would be a lot worse if the price of oil were higher.
Steve Griffin
Yeah, oil is running about 60 to $65 a barrel, just a slightly under for West Texas Intermediate and for Brent crude, a little bit higher, as it often does, about $5 there. But energy independence has been a key portion of this president's efforts so far, opening up opportunities for drilling and leasing and putting natural gas and oil into the pipeline, making America not just independent, but energy dominant. That's key to success in the long run, isn't it?
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Yeah, it really is. And President Trump had been talking about that for the prior four years to being elected, how critically important it was to consumers and also from a national security standpoint that we had to become energy independent. Because wherever we're buying our energy from, Steve, the truth of the matter is, is they are not our friends. And we can't rely on them to say, oh, we're going to take care of America. Well, we have to take care of ourselves. And the way to do that is to be energy independent. And we certainly have enough energy to be able to do that.
Steve Griffin
That. Yeah. What about the 50 year mortgage? It's being panned by pretty much everybody across the board. The 50 year mortgage, not real popular with people. Look, people are getting into their first homes when they're in their 30s, late 30s. It's a long way from where it was when I was younger. That's a concern for people. Affordability is the word that keeps popping to the forefront. And it's young women that are breaking away from Donald Trump, breaking away from the Republican Party and frankly voting for socialists like Mamdani in New York City. That is a critical component of what needs to be addressed going forward, isn't it?
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Yeah, it is. And you have to look at why the price of homes is so high. And it really goes back to supply and demand. There is just not enough supply, not enough homes on the market. So yes, interest rates don't help because they're still too high. But if you look at, you know, the market in general, there's just not enough homes out there. So how do you resolve that problem?
Steve Griffin
Well, you have to start building homes.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
You have to have a situation where supply and demand come in line and that's where you're going to have some relief. Now until that happens, the price of homes is going to stay elevated and you're going to have a lot of frustration and to come up with a policy or programs that says, well, a 50 year mortgage will make that monthly payment more affordable. That's true. But again, do you want to be paying for your home until you're in your 90s, if you even live that long? To me, that's not the way to solve this problem.
Steve Griffin
No, that's not going to work for people. The last thing, we only got about a minute left here, Dan. But the idea that the government payments would not go to Obamacare anymore, to the Affordable Care act, but to consumers directly in the foreign of health savings accounts, I think is a pretty good idea and worth pursuit. Your thoughts?
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Yeah, my thoughts on that. Is, is, is the simple fact of the matter is, is Obamacare the Affordable Care act simply did not work because it's not affordable. You have the costs related to health care continuing to rise significantly. So obviously there's got to be another way to do it. We know the Affordable Care act is unaffordable. We need a change there.
Steve Griffin
It was never affordable. It was never about care. It was always just an act, Dan. That's the way I look at it. Always just an act. Dan Geltrude thank you for being here today.
Rodney Williams and Travis Holloway
Thanks Steve.
Steve Griffin
Really appreciate it. The market's still doing well. Gold back over $4,000. Oil as you said, in pretty good shape. What about you? Send me an email stevegruber.com how are things in your neck of the woods? Can you afford it? It's too expensive. Are you struggling? Tell me stevegruber.com Send me an email. Hi.
Steve Griffin
Welcome back to this Thanksgiving edition of America's Voice Live Thanksgiving, a time where Americans give thanks to all that they're grateful for. Of course, from family and friends to possessions, even a good job may be more thankful for that today than at other times. One thing I think most Americans are thankful for as a whole is the United States military. The brave men and women who have served, are serving and will serve in the future. America was one on the blood of patriots, and it's these brave American heroes who step between the American people and any threat that may come their way. And that's why it's imperative that we give thanks to our veterans and service members this Thanksgiving holiday. Here with me to discuss this is a United States Navy veteran and an attorney for children, Drew Bavona. Drew, nice to have you here.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Thank you for having me.
Steve Griffin
Without the military that are all celebrating the 250 year anniversaries right now, and we've got Veterans Day coming, has come through and so we've had a chance to look at the military and celebrate, but without that military, we wouldn't be celebrating much of anything, would we? No, we wouldn't.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
I agree with you 100%.
Steve Griffin
So what would you like to say to the military out there, somebody like yourself who has served and others, what would you like to say to them on this Thanksgiving Day? You know, I think, of course it.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Goes without saying that we appreciate your service. And so often as a veteran and.
Rodney Williams and Travis Holloway
I hear that, you know, thank you.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
For your service and, and it's kind.
Steve Griffin
Of hard to take in because so often in the military we don't feel that we're accomplishing that much at home.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
You know, so much of what we do is abroad. But, but being able to take that thanks in, understand that people are so.
Steve Griffin
Grateful for the sacrifices, for the work that we do. And all the families that are, have.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Spouses that are in the military, the.
Steve Griffin
Sacrifices they put in and really just at the end of the day, so grateful. You know what I'm grateful for here, Drew, and I want you to weigh in on this, that today that we don't have an American president sneaking into an active military zone right now into a war zone. We don't have a vice president or senators going behind enemy lines or going to the front lines because we have no major war for them to go to. And that's worth being thankful for, isn't it? It, yes, it is.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
And I agree with that. You know, the world still a tumultuous place and there's lots of things going.
Steve Griffin
On, but what we don't have is a major conflict that America is involved in.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
And like you said, our president or.
Steve Griffin
Vice president having to fly behind enemy lines to greet those groups that are forward operating. It's a very special time. It is a very special time. Presidents have been very historic in some of their visits, and it's an important time for them to say, look, you're not home with your families. We get it. And so sometimes the presidents and vice presidents, other dignitaries, will travel to make sure that they are remembered, right? Yes, yes, most definitely. When I was abroad, we've had dignitaries come and visit us, and it's so thankful.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
You know, we feel so appreciated when.
Steve Griffin
Somebody takes time out of their day, flies halfway across the world to say hey to us. Yeah. In fact, George H.W. bush went to Saudi Arabia in 1990, George Bush to Fort Campbell, Kentucky, 2001, to Baghdad in 2003. These are some of the places that they've gone to say, look, on these holidays, as you go into Thanksgiving and Christmas, we have active military all over the world. Even today, of course, in a number of places, but not an active war zone, which is something to be thankful for. It is remarkable the amount of food that goes out to the troops. Let me give you an example. 140,000 pounds of turkey, 177,000 pounds of beef, 98,000 pounds of ham. So even though we have this government shutdown that has slowed things down and kind of disrupted things, at least they eat well, right? Yeah, we do eat well. I would say. At least I was stationed on an aircraft carrier.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
You know, the food in the Navy a little bit better than being in a forward operating base and fully foothills Afghanistan.
Steve Griffin
But a lot of times military does have the benefit of eating well.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
And.
Steve Griffin
And that's just a small kind of thanks that the government provides to those.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
People that are making those sacrifices.
Steve Griffin
Yeah. So what do you hope for going forward? We've got better recruiting numbers. We've got improvement in morale in many places. Except for the fact that they didn't get checks here for a while. That gets corrected. But what do you have to be thankful? What are you looking for as we go forward in the Military. Military. You know, as we go forward in the military, especially with the modern generation, I hope that those recruitment numbers stay up. You know, so often we think about getting into tech or AI, these new things we hear about. And the young Americans might not necessarily think about that, that service to their country, but across socioeconomic spectrums, rich or.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Poor, the government needs your help to maintain that freedom.
Steve Griffin
So if you're not exactly sure what you want to do, like I was when I was 19, and you're able to serve and you're healthy, hey, do it. Yeah, do it. Step up. Be somebody. An army of one, as they used to say. So tell us about what you're doing now that you've left the military. You're an attorney for children. What does that entail? Yeah, I'm one of the few attorneys.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
In the country, especially in Texas, that focuses on helping injured children. And we're talking about daycare injuries, you know, childcare injuries. That is my focus, that is my.
Steve Griffin
Passion, and that's what I do every day. Because so often adults have a voice in the law.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
And you've seen the billboards and everyone.
Steve Griffin
Knows as an adult you can hire an attorney, but children don't have that same voice.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
And I'm here to try to give them that voice.
Steve Griffin
Something else to be thankful for. Drew, I greatly appreciate you being here today and for all the troops out there, wherever you may be, be in the far corners of the earth. We want to say thank you for standing your post for us today so we can enjoy Thanksgiving. Drew, thank you for being here. Thank you for having me.
Dr. Jerry Newcomb
Take care.
Steve Griffin
All right, thank you. We'll take a quick break and be right back on America's Voice live.

Now whether we like it or not, there is a strong need for unrelenting and unapologetic voices who can take a stand against the narratives that legacy moves media tries to feed us every single day. Individuals like Charlie Kirk realized this and instead of just presenting his points, he actively made an effort to invite those with different opinions, those that didn't agree with him, to discuss and hash out those disagreements in the name of honest Socratic debate. While Charlie was sadly killed, his legacy and method of debate still remains strong and a new effort to bring honest debates to inner city communities is being spearheaded, headed by an organization named Standing True to America's National Destiny, showcasing the everlasting impact Charlie had on all of us, even within the black community. He crossed all lines. Joining me now to discuss this is the Founder President of staying true to America's national destiny. Bishop E.W. jackson. Bishop Jackson, thank you for being here.
Rodney Williams and Travis Holloway
Thank you for having me, Steve. A pleasure.
Steve Griffin
Now, I don't know if this is a revival. Some people don't like that word. They say it's not really a revival like we had in the 1800s, but it is a resurgence. It is a reconnecting with God, with Jesus. Church attendance up 15 to 20%. Bible sales up 40%. Downloads of biblical apps on these phones that we carry around up 80%. There's something happening that's undeniable, isn't it?
Rodney Williams and Travis Holloway
There is no question there is a move of God in the United States of America. And frankly, I think Charlie Kirk has really just brought it forward. But it really began, in my view, with Donald Trump. Well, I've said God had his hand on Donald Trump. No matter what we may think of Donald Trump's spirituality, I think God made clear that he wanted some things to happen in our country, and he was using Donald Trump to get them done. And he was obviously using Charlie Kirk to get them done as well. And now that movement has just continued to flourish.
Steve Griffin
Bishop, don't you find it incredibly ironic, hypocritical, maybe? You hear all of these people, you see it on social media every day, people that are certainly not Christians taking shots at Christians. Well, that's not what a Christian would do. How would you have any idea what a Christian would do? You're sitting there from the cheap seats taking shots at people like you, people like me, the hatred, the vitriol. Quite something, isn't is?
Rodney Williams and Travis Holloway
And they'll never give us credit for it, Steve. But we're going to pray for them and love them and stand up with courage and conviction for what we believe in, no matter what they say about us. So they're not going to stop us, just like they didn't stop Charlie Kirk. They're not stopping his wife. They're not going to stop us either.
Steve Griffin
Yeah. Tell me about this America's national destiny. True to America's national destiny, Tell me about what this organization is, what you're doing, what your goals are.
Rodney Williams and Travis Holloway
Well, our mission is to bring Americans together across racial and cultural lines, to uphold our Judeo Christian heritage and values. Because I really believe that America was intended by our founding fathers to be a nation united around principle. They believe that America is a providential nation. I believe that, in other words, a nation formed and inspired by God to bring liberty and peace and prosperity to people from literally all over the world, because it turns out that's where we come from. We're the only nation that really doesn't have any natives. If you go back far enough, we're all here by having traveled to this continent. And I really believe that there's a national destiny that God has given us that we have not yet fulfilled. And that's what Stan is committed to helping us do.
Steve Griffin
Let me ask you this, because here's something I've never understood in my time here on this planet. The black community, the Hispanic community, oftentimes far more conservative, far more in depth, in faith than a lot of your white, white, fellow Americans. And yet you've always been on the left side of the ledger. You're not today. I can hear that. And there was a move when Donald Trump got elected of black voters and Hispanic voters shifting dramatically. Because it's always seemed to me an odd relationship between the Democrat Party and those on the left that make insulting comments about people like you and I. But there is a change there, too, isn't there?
Rodney Williams and Travis Holloway
It's coming. We've had a little bit of a setback in this last election, but look, the Democrat Party was the party of slavery, the party of the Ku Klux Klan, the party of lynching, the party of Jim Crow. They like to talk about our history as Americans, but they don't like to talk about the history of the Democrat Party, which was really in the forefront of the most racist ideology that the country's ever known. And we've got to get people to start thinking about the issues in light of facts and truth, rather than being manipulated by Democrats who just keep telling them Republicans are racist. We're not. We're going to save you from them. And, oh, by the way, we're going to abort your babies and we're going to teach your children to be transgender and all this other stuff. But you can ignore that because we're going to be your racial saviors. I mean, it is really horrible manipulation and propaganda that people have simply got to be delivered from and keep those folks.
Steve Griffin
They need victims. They do. And keep folks in the inner cities. Oftentimes on a government check on government dependency, it doesn't get better. It just perpetuates, generation to generation, all of this. We're going to help you. I don't see the empirical evidence that the Democratic Party has helped the black community or the Hispanic community or a lot of other places either, for that matter. But they keep saying they're going to do it. They keep promising they're going to do it, but they never really deliver on it, do they?
Rodney Williams and Travis Holloway
It's the spirit of slavery, isn't it? Because what does slavery do? It bought people, people. And they're doing the same thing now. They're buying people. It's just a different packaging. It's a different approach, a different marketing, but it's the same thing. Creating dependence and making people believe they simply cannot make it. They cannot exist without the support of the government. And therefore they owe the government and particularly this party that they think takes care of them, their allegiance, their absolute unswerving loyalty, no matter what they represent.
Steve Griffin
Yeah, I still give thanks for this nation this day Thanksgiving. Before I let you go, please tell us about the series of these open forums you're holding within inner city communities and what they're about and what you are accomplishing.
Rodney Williams and Travis Holloway
You mentioned Charlie Kirk. Charlie Kirk really inspired me because the black community is caught up in this ideological battle, but they have basically been emotionally hijacked, not with facts, not with truth, but just with this emotional racial appeal. And what we want to do is a similar thing. Go into the inner cities and start asking questions, well, is America systemically racist? What do you mean by that? Let's talk about that. Why is it that black people succeed in this country and become millionaires and billionaires? And why is it that so many do so well? What's going on? If it's so systemically racist, how can people succeed? And there are a number of other questions we want to ask and really have a discussion about rather than just dismissing America as a racist country without any evidence. I think people will find out this is the greatest nation on earth. To live, to work, to build a business, to raise a family and to educate your children that's ever existed. And people ought to be taking advantage of the opportunities, not denouncing the country.
Steve Griffin
I'm going to give you an amen to that, Bishop. Amen on this Thanksgiving, sir. Happy Thanksgiving to you and thank you for such an uplifting message.
Rodney Williams and Travis Holloway
Thank you, Steve. God bless you. Happy Thanksgiving.
Steve Griffin
God bless you. All right, after the break, we'll have a story that reminds us of just how wonderful America is, because it is just like the bishop said. Plus, answers to our America's Voice. Question of the day. What are you thankful for in 2025? We'll be right back.

What makes America wonderful? We do it every day with the hope of putting a smile on your face before you head on your way. And what a day to do it. I mean, unless you're a little sleepy from the turkey, of course. Today's story comes to us from my studio in order to take a moment and just say thank you. Without fail, everyone at home tunes into the morning show and to America's Voice live in order to hear news stories and topics not covered by legacy media sources. Oftentimes. Because the important thing to be mindful of is hearing. Also, between your viewership and support on my social media, you all at home can ensure that we keep bringing you the stories that matter most and that in itself can never be appreciated enough. So in the spirit of being thankful, I would be remiss if I didn't say thank you to all of you at home for making me and real America's voice a part of your day every day. And as far as what makes America wonderful, well, that's obvious. Its viewers like you. You share in the pursuit of finding voices who are not afraid of telling it like it is. So from all of us here, thank you very much. I truly appreciate you being here every day. All right, the question of the day, what are you thankful for in 2025? What are you thankful for? Sam Foles III says, I'm thankful I'm going to be able to retire at the end of the year. I would be too, Sam, Can I come with you? I may not deserve it, but after 40 plus years of construction work, my body's earned it. I guess it probably has. Man. We need more people like you, Sam. Real Americans willing to work hard, not ask for handouts. Thank you for being used, Sam. Chad Coleman writes, I'm thankful that Donald Trump is our president and pray God will protect him every day. You know, with all we hear in the media these days, I could not possibly agree more. You know, he's a target every day. Keep him safe, Lord, please. Elizabeth Ann, our president, Donald Trump. You're thankful for the president? Many of us are. 77 million Americans voted for him, of course, and that's critical. David and Judy Kaler write that Donald is the president and MAGA is still strong. It is. We saw that with the collapse of the government shutdown when Democrats realized you just can't beat Donald Trump, you can't beat people who believe in this country. Linda Catcher side writes President Donald J. Trump. I see a theme here developing. People that watch this program, believe in the president, believe in America, believe in freedom, believe in a country for our kids and our grandkids. That's what we're fighting for. Look, I lived the American dream. I was blessed to do so. I'm thankful for it today. But I want my kids and grandkids to have the same opportunities that I had that you've had. Allen Anderson writes, Trump, Yep, there it is, not yours. I'm thankful for firearms instructors who are teaching a growing number of Americans how to shoot. I agree with that, by the way. I saw several states now, if you missed this, several states now are going to require gun safety in schools. It's about time. I have preached that message here on this program for years.

There are three or 400 million guns in America, maybe more. For people that don't know how powerful that opportunity is, you need to know how to use guns, all of that. Right. So Americans learning to shoot and how to use the equipment, that's a smart thing. Nene7 writes, God's infinite love and grace. Nene, I could not agree with you more. You know, we've been more outspoken since the death of Charlie Kirk at the hands of, of an, an assassin way back in September. We don't mind telling you we're Christians and we're okay with it. We're Christians. Dee writes, My savior, husband, family, friends, and my rav. Family. We are your family. Deedee, I agree with you. I feel like we're all in this together, don't you? Yeah, I feel like we're all in this together. So again, on this Thanksgiving Day, thank you for being here. Thank you for spending time with, with us. Thank you for, you know, skipping the football game for a few minutes. We appreciate it and we appreciate you being here every single day. We do. This is a family at Real America's Voice with Rob Sig and Parker Sig and all the great people behind the scenes that you never get to see or hear from. They appreciate you coming here every day too, because we work hard for you, to tell you the truth, and to make sure that we give you a little different look at the country from our perspective. God bless you. God bless America. America. Happy Thanksgiving, my friends. We'll talk soon.
