Steve Gruber
Welcome to America's Voice LIVE. I'm Steve Gurrie. It is Thursday, the 2nd of April, the year of our Lord 2026. Let's get to the day's top stories. As always, thank you for spending time with us here today. President Trump stated that Operation Epic Fury is nearly completed, that he expects it could be wrapped up in a week or two. We'll see. We'll bring on a national security analyst, Rebecca G.R. and then former Navy SEAL Jonathan Gilliam to sort that out. Also, I'll show you the most important parts of President Trump's speech so you can hear it for yourself right here on America's Voice live. All that and more coming up, but we start today with the breaking news of the day. Never a dull moment. President Trump shaking up the Department of Justice, announcing he has fired Attorney General Pam Bondi and installed a new leader, at least for a moment. Todd Blanche, the former assistant attorney general. He will be stepping in as the acting attorney general while the administration searches for a permanent replacement. Body of former Florida attorney general and longtime Trump ally had led the department since early last year. But her tenure had come under intense scrutiny in recent months, including controversies surrounding the handling of the files related to Jeffrey Epstein and much more. President Trump thanked Bondi for her service, calling her a patriot, while saying she will transition to a role in the private sector. Join me to discuss his Judicial Watch attorney, former Trump attorney and author of the book Defiant. Christina. Bob. Christina, nice to see you today.
Christina Bob
Nice to see you. Thanks for having me, Steve.
Steve Gruber
All right, so the rumors have been circulating for a while now that Pam Bondi was on the ropes. So I guess today's firing is not really a surprise, is it?
Christina Bob
No, it's not a surprise. Americans have been complaining probably since the day Pam Bondi got into office that they want to see a counter accountability. There have been so many stories of elected officials and political leaders who have been abusing their office and abusing their power. And Americans have been crying out saying, we want justice, we want to see accountability. We want to know that there's not two tiers of justice. And there really. There really hasn't been any. We haven't seen anything. Nothing significant anyway. So midterms are seven months away. And, you know, whether it's Pam Bondi's fault or not, and, you know, you can go back and forth on that, I think it was time to get someone in there who at least they can try to salvage it before the midterms, because if there aren't major changes, I think they're really going to struggle in the midterms.
Steve Gruber
I think you're right about that. There hasn't been a lot of talk about it recently, but the Epstein files were top of the fold for quite some time. And Pam Bondi came out and she made a comment about that that has never sat well with any of the folks who supported Donald Trump. I want you to hear it, and we'll react to it. Here it is.
Cancer Recovery Pledge Announcer
It's sitting on my desk right now to review. That's been a directive by President Trump. I'm reviewing that. I'm reviewing JFK files, MLK files. That's all in the process of being reviewed because that was done at the directive of the president from all of these agencies.
Steve Gruber
All right, now, that was months ago, Christine. And then there was the stunt with the influencers. They're coming out with stacks of Epstein, something other, but it was nothing new. And so when people say they want accountability when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein, Democrats, Republicans, doesn't matter. People want. Well, they want pedophiles held accountable. So when she did that, it was like a benchmark. Okay, you said you've got them, where are they? And what are you doing about it? And nothing happened.
Christina Bob
Yeah. I don't think anybody can try to claim that the way the Epstein files were rolled out was good, whether it was Pam Bondi or Cash Patel or Dan Bongino, you know, several people wanting to be aggressive with the Epstein files. The way that it came about in that original letter that nobody wanted to sign, but they wanted to put the statement out saying, there is no file. It was just a disaster. And I think that probably created a lot of the hype surrounding it. I think the reason why people are so interested in the Epstein files and kind of clamp onto it has nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein. But it's the idea that there are rich and powerful people who can do the most heinous things and get away with it. And so I interpret this cry, this scream for justice with the Epstein files is the public wants to know that people, powerful people, will be held accountable for their crimes. And we haven't seen that. And so I think that's a big question mark of, you know, if you're rich and powerful, can you just buy off the politicians and everything's fine? And that's what they're combating.
Steve Gruber
Yeah, they're concerned about that. One of the other things that has been obviously in the headlines for months now is fraud in places like Minnesota and California. Nobody. And look, I see this in the comments. I see it on social media. You do as well. Nobody in handcuffs. And so the natives, the 77 million people that voted for Donald Trump, a lot of them are like, why is Pam Bondi still there? Why is she not holding people accountable? So some people celebrating today that there will be a changing of the guard there at the Department of Justice. The question is who gets the job?
Christina Bob
Yeah, yeah. That is ultimately the question. Todd Blanche is stepping in for now. He and Pam Bondi have been very in sync. So I don't see much changing under Todd Blanche. I think he will be just as effective as Pam Bondi, which means no prosecutions. But maybe Lee Zeldin, maybe Eric is Eric Schmidt. You know, there's a handful of really, you know, possible candidates that could step in, but I think we're gonna have to wait until the actual new AG steps in to see anything. We'll see. They gotta hurry because the midterms are coming.
Steve Gruber
Yeah. And they need results. You're on the money there, Christina. They need results. They need to see people held accountable, whether it's for Epstein or fraud or. We've seen members of Congress here, the one Congresswoman from Florida skimming $5 million from fraud and not giving up her seat. We have new allegations that Alexandria OCASIO Cortez used $19,000 for her therapist. These are things that people are like, wait a second, we couldn't get away with that. Why are they getting away with it? Why are they not in handcuffs? Right.
Christina Bob
Yeah. And they almost flaunt it at this point, like there doesn't appear to be any shame or any concern that they ever will be held accountable. And I mean, if we're being honest, $19,000 of campaign fraud is a drop in the bucket compared to what we've been seeing. You know, Stacey Abrams got $2 billion to her nonprofit. And if we're being fair, call it, you know, saying. Calling it on both sides. Kristi Noem sending $200 million to her friend's media company for a 60 second commercial. I mean, there's so much stuff going on that makes you scratch your head that some of the, some of this other stuff like the $19,000 people aren't even blinking at it right now. And that's a problem. It's a problem. It should be something that they all should be concerned about, but none of them are concerned about it because we haven't seen any accountability.
Steve Gruber
Yeah. You know, I'm no expert on family matters, but Kristi Noem might have bigger problems to concern herself with today. Just, just throwing that out there that her concerns might be a little bit more centered at home.
Christina Bob
Very complex.
Steve Gruber
All right. So, yeah, very complex. We're not getting into that today. One of the. I mean, I think that the president has an opportunity here to bring in somebody who can really shake things up. I really like Eric Schmidt, the senator from Missouri. I have no idea if he has a shot at this job. Lee Zeldin mentioned the EPA administrator currently. Well, thought of a good attorney. But when I talk about somebody like an Eric Schmidt, I talk about somebody who's been an attorney general, state of Missouri, obviously, somebody who pulls no punches. Somebody who is a law and order, by the book. Let's get it done. Let's get the investigation complete. And then you mentioned Cash Patel. Because it has to work in concert oftentimes with other agencies, including the FBI. There has to be a coordination inside the administration to target some of these, well, some of these scandals, doesn't there?
Christina Bob
Yes, of course. And you can't forget about the fact that the agencies themselves, meaning many of the career people who work there, do not support this president and do not support this president's agenda. So They've got to figure out how to further that agenda, how to navigate that, while your own employees are actually trying to oppose you. So you need someone very strong, very determined, who's not afraid to deal with career bureaucrats who end up being in the way and who, you know, sometimes you hang, you know, hang one pelt on the fence and you don't have an issue. There's different ways to handle it, but you need someone who knows how to handle that situation and can actually make the department function the way that it needs to to support this administration.
Steve Gruber
Well, you mentioned before we came on, the Democrats do this completely differently. The Republicans look like, well, they look like a clown show half the time. I'm just gonna be honest. They're not getting it done. They're not holding people accountable. The people that voted for Donald Trump are frustrated, and that's being kind. But the Democrats have a completely different playbook. Explain.
Christina Bob
Yeah, they do. So Democrats outsource everything. They know that the department is too bloated and non functional. And they also do have an advantage that many of the career bureaucrats do support them. So they don't have as much internal strife that Republicans do. However, they have a whole network of nonprofit lawyers that, you know, do everything pro bono out of the goodness of their heart. They build up these cases and they hand them off to a political appointee who will prosecute them when the actual legwork of it is all done outside of the government. We're seeing this is a growing trend. I first became aware of it in 2020. We've done a lot of investigative work on this at Judicial Watch, but we are seeing that Democrat AGs at the state level and then, I believe, at the federal level, they outsource the work and then they bring in a special counsel who's outside. Right. Outsource the work, who then brings a team of outside people who just complete the job. So they're much more proficient at it because they don't, they just bypass, they go around the bureaucracy.
Steve Gruber
What about the politicization of the Department of Justice? This is something that has been systematic and systemic throughout government. You've got these career bureaucrats in there, and if they don't like Donald Trump, they just slide the case to the side. The FBI, they don't want to investigate it. They slide the case to the side until they get called out, if they ever get called out on it. So politics inside these departments, that's a real problem, isn't it?
Christina Bob
It's a significant problem. It is very, very significant. And I think it's significant specifically for this administration because it was so polarizing, despite the fact that Donald Trump had a landslide, historic victory. And it's Washington, D.C. i love D.C. it is my home. But the people here don't like Donald Trump. I mean, they're 99.7% liberal, something like that. They just want to oppose him. They feel morally superior. They feel morally obligated to oppose him, and they think it's appropriate. So it's a tough, it's a tough environment to work in. You need an attorney general who can come in and clean all that out. Either figure out how to make the department work or figure out how to clean out the department. Ideally both. But if you don't have time to do both, at least clean out the department.
Steve Gruber
All right, Christina. Bob, thank you for being here. The book, by the way, is defiant. Christina Baum on the receiving end of some of that politicized legal action. You can read the book. There it is. Christina, I always appreciate talking to you. Thank you.
Christina Bob
Thanks, Steve.
Steve Gruber

In Wednesday's primetime address to the nation, President Trump signaled that the conflict could be wrapping up in the coming weeks in Iran after intense strikes from both Israel and the United States. Here's a bit of what he said. Take a look.
President Donald Trump (speech clips)
Thanks to the progress we've made, I can say tonight that we are on track to complete all of America's military objectives shortly. Very shortly. We are going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks. We're going to bring them back to the Stone Ages where they belong. In the meantime, discussions are ongoing.
Steve Gruber
Well, he kind of said two things there. We could wrap it up or we could bomb them into the Stone Age. The president also warned that if Iran refuses to back down, like he said there, the strikes could intensify, saying America holds the advantage and is determined to stop Iran's nuclear threat and support for terror and, of course, their missile program, too. Join me to discuss as national security analyst and vice president of the Lexington Institute, Dr. Rebecca Grant. Doctor, thank you for being here today. All right. Your take on the speech, his comments. Where are we today?
Dr. Rebecca Grant
I thought it was a very strong speech, very presidential, and really laid out the case of why you Know, we tried to pay off Iran. We tried all sorts of things. And the goal of Operation Epic Fury has been to cripple Iran's military. It's worked really well. But Admiral Cooper in Central Command has a bit more of a target set to work. So to me, when the president talks about bombing them back to the Stone Age, I think of the pictures of the bombers that have destroyed a lot of Iran's industrial base, defense, industrial base, drones, missiles, Navy underground anti ship cruise missile bunkers along the coast of the Strait of Hormuz, all of that. So Admiral Cooper still needs time to complete that target set. That is what is going to make America safer in the long run.
Steve Gruber
You know, a couple of days ago, President Trump put out a true social post saying basically, to the countries of Europe, you did nothing to help us here. In fact, some countries have their airspace closed, two American military aircraft now, including Spain and some others. And basically he said, if you need the oil, go get it yourselves. I like that too, actually, Doctor, because it looks like once again, it's always, hey, big brother, can you go take care of this? When Ukraine happened, it was, hey, bring all your equipment, bring your Javelin missiles, and mostly bring all your money. And when we said, hey, we need some help here, we basically got the complete brush off. What do you think about that comment earlier? Because there are concerns that NATO could have some ruptures in it and at this point, they can't count on the United States to pay the bill every single time and bring all the toys to the playground. Your thoughts?
Dr. Rebecca Grant
Well, I think President Trump is pretty cross with some of our key NATO allies. Spain's comment was very performative considering that we use a big port of theirs for missile defense of Europe for our navy. But a couple of things going on here. One, Britain. Despite Keir Starmer's kind of weak language, Britain's actually been engaged. They have their RAF Typhoon and F35 fighters. They are shooting down drones. Their RAF Security Regiment has knocked out some drones as well. The European allies, plus Japan and South Korea are over in the Red Sea with an operation called Prosperity Guardian, which is helping to protect traffic from the Houthi attacks, which, if you remember those from a couple years ago, they've gone way down. But that tells us that our allies really are able to send a P8 surveillance plane, send a destroyer, send some forces to help out with Hormuz, if they're willing to do it. They're going to meet on that next week. I think part of this is again waiting for a Little bit more completion of that coastal target set with our air power working in Central Command. But there's no question this has not been our NATO allies finest day. And I think an undercurrent here is that they are that a lot of them don't like Israel. But the fact is they have really, they have really, in their language, they have stood off far too much from Operation Epic Fury, considering that they are going to benefit. They all know they were within range of Iran's missiles, and it's the US that's gone in there and taken out that missile capability for them.
Steve Gruber
The impact on the economies of European nations. Also at stake here, reports today that the UK Is running low on jet fuel because they don't have an adequate supply. We do, they don't. So it is in their best interest to make sure the Strait of Hormuz remains open and oil begins to flow again. It is interesting to note that since Donald Trump's comments last night, the price of oil has skyrocketed. The speculators, the manipulators, and frankly, the profiteers, they're not too worried about the war ending in a week, it doesn't appear, because they're driving the price up today to $111. Now, it had gotten down to about 90. What do you make of that?
Dr. Rebecca Grant
Right. Well, I wish I'd filled up my pickup truck. But, you know, we are going to see these spikes. Okay. But I think at some point we are going to see, as the president says, to see oil come down. And, you know, kind of shame on Europe for not offering to help out more publicly right away when they were asked the first time. I wish that they would go and do that in addition to the forces that are there. But I think overall we're going to see more stability in this trade. I'll tell you one, one real win here is, you know, most of the oil going through Hormuz, 90% of it goes to Asia. And China gets almost, maybe half of their petroleum products through that strait. Well, look who's sitting there ready to be more leveraging and controlling Strait of Hormuz. And I'm telling you, that is something that Xi Jinping in China is noting as well. Just see if he wants to mess with strategic mineral access after this. But the Europeans have got to realize that they do have a lot of critical infrastructure, whether that's the oil flow data centers. We've seen data centers attacked in the Gulf States. Pretty big shock there. So Iran was a huge menace. And President Trump said last night, if we hadn't done Operation Epic Fury. Iran was going to start the extortion using the missiles and all of this. And that is what he has prevented for America, but for Europe, for the whole world as well.
Steve Gruber
You know, the last wild card really here on the table is what is it going to take to secure that 400 kilograms, give or take, of enriched uranium. We know the 10,000 new military personnel for the United States, including Marine Expeditionary Units, have been dispatched to the Middle East. A lot of Americans, including folks that voted for Donald Trump, do not want to see troops on the ground. But it looks like it could be necessary to extract that uranium. Last word to you.
Dr. Rebecca Grant
The US Forces can extract it if so ordered. But another option is to watch it carefully. We are never going to let Iran have a missile and air defense shield again. We'll be able to get in there with our aircraft, with ground forces if necessary, at any time, if that's what we need to do. But it all depends on the intel as to where that uranium really is.
Steve Gruber
That's a good point. And with the skies being open, the intel gets better every day. Dr. Rebecca Grant, always good to talk to you. Thank you.
Dr. Rebecca Grant
Thank you.

all right, let's continue. Now, the president addressed the war in Iran last night. And despite all the doom and gloom from some in the media on both sides of the aisle about President Trump potentially announcing boots on the ground, that scenario was not mentioned at all. Instead, the president tried to make his case for the war directly, hitting back at those saying, this isn't America. First. Listen to this.
President Donald Trump (speech clips)
From the very first day I announced my campaign for President in 2015, I avowed that I would never allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon. This vernacular regime has been chanting death to America, death to Israel for 47 years. Their proxies were behind the murder of 241Americans in the Marine barracks bombing in Beirut, the slaughter of hundreds of our service members with roadside bombs. They were involved in the attack on the USS Cole, and they carried out the countless other heinous acts, including the blood just horrible, bloody atrocities of October 7th in Israel.
Steve Gruber
Yeah, Iran has propped up all the terrorist organizations you've heard in the headlines. Hamas, the Houthis, Hezbollah, and Al Shabaab operating in parts of Africa, attacking Christians attacking American interests. They've done it for 47 years. And President Trump is right about having promised from the very first day of his campaign that Iran must never have a nuclear weapon. He's exactly right about that. The president also made note that none of this would have needed to happen if the presidents before him, like Barack Obama, George W. Bush or Joe Biden, would have made a move to stop the Iranian regime. But in some cases, notably with President Obama's Iran deal, he actually enabled the Iranian regime to hold on to power. Here's that.
President Donald Trump (speech clips)
Obama gave them $1.7 billion in cash, green, green cash. Took it out of banks from Virginia, D.C. then Maryland, all the cash they had. He flew it by airplanes in an attempt to buy their respect and loyalty. But it didn't work. They laughed at our president and went on with their mission to have a nuclear bomb. Essentially, I did what no other president was willing to do. They made mistakes and I am correcting them.
Steve Gruber
A lot of work to do after 47 years. And whether or not you agree with what's happening in Iran and the current conflict there, it is impressive what American might has done with the Iranian military. Iran was no lightweight when it came to power and projecting power across the region. They have, or at least had, in this case, a large military, and we're essentially the strongest power in the Middle East. And in mere weeks, it's decimated, and I mean decimated. Donald Trump also made that case very clear.
President Donald Trump (speech clips)
Our objectives are very simple and clear. We are systematically dismantling the regime's ability to threaten America or project power outside of their borders. That means eliminating Iran's navy, which is now absolutely destroyed, hurting their air force and their missile program at levels never seen before, and annihilating their defense industrial base. We've done all of it. Their navy is gone. Their air force is gone. Their missiles are just about used up or beaten. Our armed forces have been extraordinary. There's never been anything like it militarily. Everyone is talking about it. And tonight I'm pleased to say that these core strategic objectives are nearing completion.
Steve Gruber
Nearing completion. But if they don't comply, then it's going to get worse. He says. Now, reflecting on the conversation I just had with Dr. Rebecca Grant, how about our friends over there in Europe? They're making a big stink over rising energy costs because a lot of the energy comes through the state of Hormuz. They depend on it, we don't. Which Iran has now basically closed the straits. However, they have shown us directly that they do not want to help, even closing military bases to American assets. And that has started a massive debate. Should America be subsidizing European security anymore? Do we get enough strategic value from NATO now compared to the last several decades? Well, President Trump certainly seems to be weighing the answers to those questions. And because the Europeans won't help, he told them to go ahead and secure the oil and the straits themselves.
President Donald Trump (speech clips)
Here it is to those countries that can't get fuel, many of which refuse to get involved in the decapitation of Iran. We had to do it ourselves. I have a suggestion. Number one, buy oil from the United States of America. We have plenty. We have so much. And number two, build up some delayed courage. Should have done it before. Should have done it with us as we asked. Go to the strait and just take it, protect it, use it for yourselves. Iran has been essentially decimated. The hard part is done.
Steve Gruber
Keep an eye on what's going to be happening because, well, you just never know. Wars tend to take on a life of their own. This one could as well. We'll see how this finishes out. Think about this. Back in 2006, $20,000 bought you about 33 ounces of gold at spot price. At today's prices, those 33 ounces will be worth, what, 150 grand? Smart Americans diversify a portion of their savings into precious metals. And that's why you need to consider buying gold from my friends at Burchgold Group. For thousands of years, gold has been a store of wealth and today it's a crucial part of any balanced strategy. Even better, Burch gold can help you convert an existing IRA or 401 into a tax sheltered retirement account. In gold. Just text America to the number 989-898 to receive your free information kit. wonder how to make hosting look effortless? Here's a secret. When prepping for cooking and baking, get ahead of the mess with new Reynolds Kitchens countertop prep paper. Just lightly wet the counter so the paper grips. Lay it down and drips and spills stay on the paper, not on your counter. Cleanup is as simple as lifting it away to reveal clean counters. Effortless it is thanks to Reynolds Kitchen's countertop prep paper. Wet it, set it, prep it. Done. Available in the Reynolds wrap aisle at Walmart.

all right. As I stated earlier, President Trump plans to increase the pressure on Iran until they come to a deal. Negotiations remain ongoing and the deadline to reach a deal, at least for today, is April 6th. That's this coming Monday. And then we have the breaking news of Pam Bondi being removed as the Attorney general, as I mentioned as well. Join me to discuss former FBI special agent, former Navy SEAL Jonathan Gilliam. Jonathan, nice to see you again today.
Jonathan Gilliam
Good to be with you, Steve.
Steve Gruber
Let's start with Pam Bondi. It's pretty safe to say that a lot of Trump supporters, millions of them, were not fan favorites of Pam Bondi. They wanted results. They weren't seeing it. The natives were restless and today she's out. Your thoughts?
Jonathan Gilliam
I think Pam Bondi had several things going against her. Let's start with the most blaring one was that she's terrible on TV and in front of a microphone. Secondly, her image of showing up and like a click baiter at events was, or the arrest, for instance, was. It just, it didn't look like she was doing the work. It looked like she was using the platform. So I think that was a, first of all, a huge thing. The issue with the Epstein files and that debacle that really I think started a lot of people down a road of not trusting the administration that voted for the administration. I think a lot of that is her fault. And I believe also tell me who's been locked up that is a part of this leftist movement in the country to overthrow the country, that they actually say they want to overthrow the country. Nothing. There's been nothing.
Steve Gruber
Yeah, and that's a big part of the problem. I want to show one clip here giving an example of Pam Bondi behind the microphone. That did not go particularly well not long ago. Here it is.
Cancer Recovery Pledge Announcer
You sit here and you attack the president. And I am not going to have it. I'm not going to put up with it. You know, all they want to do, all the American people need to know this. They are talking about Epstein today. This has been around since the Obama administration. This administration released over 3 million pages of documents. Over 3 million. And Donald Trump signed that law to release all of those documents. He is the most transparent president in the nation's history. And none of them, none of them ask Merrick Garland over the last four years, one word about Jeffrey Epstein. How ironic is that? You know why? Because Donald Trump, the Dow, the Dow right now is over. The dow is over $50,000. I don't know why you're laughing. You're a great stock trader. As I hear, Raskin, the dow is over 50,000 right now. The S&P at almost 7,000.
Steve Gruber
And Jonathan there, she, she's not on the wrong path. Then she completely loses the script. Her talking about where the Dow is has nothing to do with holding people accountable. And people are scratching their head going, what is she talking about? Your thoughts?
Jonathan Gilliam
Not only is she not holding people accountable about it, when she was talking about it, she wasn't talking about the Epstein issue. She was talking about the fact that the Democrats, when they were in office, didn't release anything as well. This is the Attorney General. She's in charge. She's the highest law enforcement officer in the United States. She's in charge of these investigations. And the reality is she never talked about going and looking at these people and holding them accountable. She just bragged about releasing information. And when she was talking to that hearing, the Senate, she was talking about how they released more information than the other person. Well, the last I checked, when you have a case and you have victims, you don't rush to release the information, you rush to solve the case. And she's never done that. She's never done it with anything. As I was saying, you know, we were talking off air, you know, all these things that went on in Minneapolis, all these protests around the country. I've never seen a DOJ task force and FBI agents going and arresting people for. For federal charges and putting them in a database so they have a list of who these people are so they can do investigations on them. Never. Not one time.
Steve Gruber
Yeah. And then they show up at the next protest, the next, and they're in this revolving justice system where they never get held for anything. All right, last word to you, Jonathan. We've only got a moment here, but I am curious about your response to the President's speech last night, where we are with the war in Iran, your assessment?
Jonathan Gilliam
I think the President is doing what many Presidents before, for 47 years have not done, which is dealt with the threat of Iran. It's constantly imminent threat. They've killed more Americans than any other country since Vietnam. And he finally, whether it's the nuclear issue, the rockets, their ability to carry out terrorist attacks, or breaking down the effectiveness of their intelligence apparatus, which is the most dangerous part of all, that the President has stepped in and put a stop to it. We're not beholden to anybody. His timeline is not beholden to anybody. He can go at the pace that he sees best for our military to complete the mission. That's what I see him doing. That's what he's shown us that he's doing. He did it in Venezuela, he did it in Iran before. And I think this President, along with Pete Hexseth, who, you know, I've been hard on Pete Hexseth. I think they have done an amazing job and they have put a military back together and a commander in chief exists that knows how to use it in a way that is effective, not in a way that pays off the military industrial complex for their reelection campaign money. This is what war is all about. Haven't fought anything like this since World War II.
Steve Gruber
And it is time in my estimation, that they finish the job. Don't leave early. So we have to go back in six months or a couple of years. Finish. Jonathan Gilliam, always, always a pleasure. Thank you, sir.
Jonathan Gilliam
You got it, buddy.
Steve Gruber

all right, continuing the discussion now on the firing of Attorney General Pam Bondi. Apparently it happened before the President stepped to the podium last night for his primetime address. The Assistant AG Todd Blanche, temporarily in charge, here to discuss our next guest legal expert and the host of the what's Right show, Sam Mierozovsky. Sam, nice to see you.
Sam Mierozovsky
Always a pleasure to be with you, Steve.
Steve Gruber
I've been sorting through the comments in the chat section. I've been searching social media and talked to A couple of guests. You're my third. Nobody seems concerned that Pam Bondi has lost her job. In fact, there seems to be a celebratory nature to it. All your thoughts?
Sam Mierozovsky
Well, I am with everybody else on this. I was not a big fan of hers to begin with. I thought she was an unserious candidate and I think largely selected because there was a belief she would look good on TV and came from Florida and was loyal to the president. But this job called for somebody who was a serious prosecutor and who understood how to manage federal prosecutions, who had spent years, preferably in the trenches as an AUSA and had come up in the system. And that certainly wasn't her. And so now we've got a vacancy. It's an opportunity. So I think the most important thing now for the president is to not miss twice.
Steve Gruber
Yeah. Lee Zeldin's name has come up. He's currently the administrator at the epa. Well thought of. Well spoken, done, good work at the epa. Do you have anybody you see on the horizon that you think would be good for the job?
Sam Mierozovsky
Well, there's sort of a top four, top five, depending on how you, you know where you're coming from. And the chatter right now, of course, has Lee. Has Lee Zeldin in the mix. He's a contender. It has Harmeet Dhillon, who and she, of course, being already in the Department of Justice in the civil rights division and being an early Trump aligned attorney and really in the trenches and have earned her chops in that, I think is well regarded Todd Blanche, the acting attorney general. Now with Pam Bondi leaving, he was Trump's lawyer. But don't dismiss him, don't sleep on him. He is a fantastic, experienced veteran of federal court of criminal prosecutions. He was a longtime AUSA assistant U.S. attorney. So I like him. And then there's DeSantis. Ron DeSantis is nearing the end of his term in Florida and he is, you know, he is somebody that while, you know, I'm a little bit, I'm a little bit, kind of a little colder on him than a lot of other people given his response to the malicious prosecution of Trump under the Biden regime. But he does know how to wield executive power. He has proven in Florida that he knows how to clean things up and take control of an executive branch of government. And here he would set his sights, I believe, on cleaning up the elections. He understands how important that was to saving Florida. So, you know, I wouldn't sleep on Desantis either.
Steve Gruber
All right. And my My my dark horse is Eric Schmidt of Missouri, former Attorney General and a hard hitting Senator. That's my guy, Sam, but, but I don't know that he's made the list anywhere. But I do appreciate it. We gotta leave it there for today. Sam, greatly appreciate you stopping in. We'll see how this plays out. Of course, whoever it is will get eviscerated during confirmation hearings by the United States Senate because the Democrats have nothing else to do with their time. Sam, thank you.
Sam Mierozovsky
Wishing you a wonderful Easter. Take care, Steve.
Steve Gruber
You too my friend. You too. All right, after the break we'll have a story that reminds us of just how wonderful America is. Stay tuned. We'll be right back.

All right. What makes America wonderful? We do it every day to put a smile on your face before you go on your way. This will make you smile. Under President Trump, the U.S. department of labor is proposing a major change that could expand investment options for millions of Americans saving for retirement. And maybe that's you. The new rule would allow managers of 401k plans to include more alternative investments like private equity, while setting clear guidelines for how those options are chosen. Joining me to discuss this, the senior Director of Government affairs at the National Taxpayers Union, Tommy Aiello. Tommy, good afternoon. All right, so what does this mean for the folks that got some money that they want to invest?
Tommy Aiello
Well, good afternoon. It's great to be with you. On Monday, the DOL Department of Labor announced a rule that's really encouraging for the 70 plus million Americans who have a 401k. Effectively, what they're doing is they're allowing plans to offer their clients the option to invest in their retirement dollars into alternative assets. Those are things like private equity, digital assets, real estate, and more. And this is a really good thing because the private asset market is a $20 trillion market. And right now, Americans are effectively locked out from all of that opportunity. So it's a great news to democratize and diversify their portfolios.
Steve Gruber
It scares me a little bit knowing what happened to the Oregon Teachers Union. They invested in private equity. They got a 4% return over 10 years while the market did 40%. So you gotta be careful no matter where you invest, don't you?
Tommy Aiello
Of course. And I think that's why it's part of a larger investment strategy. About 89% of public pensions right now are invested in private equity and other alternative assets. But what we need to remember is, when you look at it holistically, a 401k plan needs to include a lot of different things. Right now, they're only allowed to invest in publicly traded companies and bonds. The publicly traded companies, they've declined by half since the 1990s. So part of this plan, one needs to make sure we allow more, make it easier for more companies to go public. And we need to add more money into the system for people to invest their dollars in.
Steve Gruber
Yeah. And you know, the restrictions. I've never understood that you can't invest in things like real estate when real estate has appreciated in some areas astronomically. I mean, all these limitations. The government says you can invest your money here, but not over here. Why is that?
Tommy Aiello
The main reason is trial lawyers and people that want to sue fiduciaries for violating their responsibility of putting their clients first. Of course they need to put their clients first. But what the DOL rule does is it establishes a safe harbor, meaning that it gives some liability protection to 401k managers to go into these alternative assets. And of course, you know, these 401ks, you have the option to do it. If you don't want to do it, you don't have to put your money there. But it also means that they have this liability protection, which is very important when you're talking about a multitrillion dollar industry.
Steve Gruber
I agree. You know who always makes money, Tommy, no matter what the transaction is? The lawyers. If we can only invest in their companies, it would be better. Tommy, I gotta leave it there for today. Tommy Aiello from the National Taxpayers Union. Luckily, this is something that people can look at their options, maybe have some other opportunities and see what happens. And hopefully it's good for investments in America. Thank you for being here.
Tommy Aiello
That's right. Thank you. Happy Easter.
Steve Gruber
Happy Easter to you. Good Friday is tomorrow. You know what that means? It means lent is over today. People have been arguing about this, but I looked it up. Lent ends today. That's good news for me. Date: April 2, 2026
Host: Steve Gruber, Real America’s Voice
In this episode, Steve Gruber dives into the latest political and world events, with a heavy focus on two major stories:
Through in-depth interviews with legal and national security experts, Gruber explores the causes and repercussions behind high-level DOJ shakeups, the state of military engagements abroad, U.S.-Europe relations, and the future of American justice and foreign policy. The episode is pointed, candid, and overtly critical of perceived failures in government accountability.

Public Frustration & Calls for Accountability
Epstein Files & Missed Opportunities
The mishandling of the Epstein files is cited as a catalyst for Bondi’s ouster:
“The reason why people are so interested in the Epstein files and kind of clamp onto it has nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein. But it's the idea that there are rich and powerful people who can do the most heinous things and get away with it.” (Christina Bob, [07:20])
Critique of Bondi’s public performance and substance:
“She's terrible on TV and in front of a microphone. ... The issue with the Epstein files and that debacle ... I think a lot of that is her fault.” (Jonathan Gilliam, [39:06])
Concerns About Justice System & Prosecutions
Timestamps: [18:40]–[26:19], [29:17]–[34:31], [43:05]–[44:51]

Timestamps: [56:17]–[59:46]
On Pam Bondi’s Firing:
“Americans have been crying out saying, we want justice, we want to see accountability.” (Christina Bob, [05:36])
“It didn’t look like she was doing the work. It looked like she was using the platform.” (Jonathan Gilliam, [39:06])
“The most important thing now for the president is to not miss twice.” (Sam Mierozovsky, [49:37])
On U.S.-Iran Policy:
“We are systematically dismantling the regime's ability to threaten America or project power outside of their borders.” (Trump, [32:17])
“We’re going to bring them back to the Stone Ages where they belong.” (Trump, [18:56])
“But, you know, we are going to see these spikes [in oil prices]. ... At some point we are going to see, as the president says, to see oil come down. ... Shame on Europe for not offering to help out more publicly right away when they were asked the first time.” (Dr. Rebecca Grant, [23:57])
This episode zeroes in on critical government shakeups and the closing stages of a major military operation. It offers listeners an unvarnished, right-of-center perspective, pressing issues of justice, government transparency, and American strength on the world stage. The guest experts provide both technical details and political context, while Gruber frames the discussion as a call for urgent action and reform.
