America's Voice Live starts now.
Steve Gruber
And welcome to America's Voice Live. I'm Steve Gruber. It is Thursday the 9th of April, year of our Lord 2026. Let's get to the day's top stories. As always, thank you for spending time with us here on Real America's Voice. The two week ceasefire deal between the United States and Iran has held for now, as fragile as it is. However, Iran seems to be testing the terms as Israel continues attacks inside of Lebanon. More on that today. Also, Democrats continue to push the narrative that they are winning over American voters, which doesn't seem to be the case where I am. We'll talk more about it. I'll show you some of the most recent failures from the Liberal Democrat Party as well today. Be sure to stick around for that. And then later, President Trump met with NATO chief Mark Ruta yesterday after Most of the 32 NATO nations refused to help the United States in opening the Strait of Hormuz. I'll discuss all of that going forward, but we have to start here today. I want to show you a message from the first lady of the United States, Melania Trump. She carpet bombs the tabloid media. She carpet bombs people saying that she's connected with Jeffrey Epstein. To say this is a jaw dropping announcement that happened just minutes ago is an understatement. Listen to this. And then we'll hear from Brian Glenn at the White House. Here it is.
Melania Trump
Good afternoon. The lies linking me with the disgraceful Jeffrey Epstein need to end today. The individuals lying about me are devoid of ethical standards, humility and respect. I do not object to their ignorance, but rather I reject their mean spirited attempts to to defame my reputation. I never been friends with Epstein. Donald and I were invited to the same parties as Epstein from time to time since overlapping in social circles is common in New York City and Palm Beach. To be clear, I never had a relationship with Epstein or his accomplice Maxwell. My email reply to Maxwell cannot be categorized as anything more than casual correspondence. My polite reply to her email doesn't amount to anything more than a tribal note. I am not Epstein's victim. Epstein did not introduce me to Donald Trump. I met my husband by chance at the New York city party in 1998. This initial encounter with my husband is documented in detail in my book Melania. The first time I crossed paths with Epstein was in the year 2000 at an event Donald and I attended together. At the time, I had never met Epstein and had no knowledge of his criminal undertakings. Numerous fake images and statements about Epstein and me have been calculating on social media for years now. Be cautious about what you believe. These images and stories are completely false. I'm not a witness or a name witness in connection with any of Epstein's crimes. My name has never appeared in court documents, depositions, victim statements or FBI in interviews surrounding the Epstein matter. I have never had any knowledge of Epstein abuse of his victims. I was never involved in any capacity. I was not a participant, was never on Epstein's plane and never visited his private island. I have never been legally accused or convinced of a crime in connection with Epstein sex trafficking, abuse of minors and other repulsive behavior. The false smears about me from mean spirited and politically motivated individuals and entities looking to cause damage to my good name to gain financially and climb politically must stop. My attorneys and I have fought these unfound and baseless lies with success and will continue to maintain my sound reputation without hesitation. To date, several individuals and companies have been legally obligated to publicly apologize and retract their lies about me, such as Daily Beast, James Carville and Harper Collins uk. Now is the time for Congress to act. Epstein was not alone. Several prominent mill executives resigned from their powerful positions after this matter became widely politicized. Of course this doesn't amount to guilt, but we still must work openly and transparently to uncover the truth. I call on Congress to provide the women who have been victimized by Epstein with a public hearing specifically centered around the survivors. Give these victims their opportunity to testify under oath in front of Congress with the power of sworn testimony. Testimony each and every woman should have her day to tell her story in public if she wishes, and then her testimony should be permanently entered into the Congressional Record. Then and only then, we will have the truth. Thank you,
Steve Gruber
Secretary Lutnick. Absolutely jaw dropping. Absolutely remarkable. I was speaking with Brian Glenn just moments ago. He joins us now from the White House. Nobody saw this coming, Brian. Look, this is a big deal. She's talking about defamation. She's talking about libel. She's invoking her lawyers, saying that they are ready to go after people like the Daily Beast, James Carville. And then the closing argument, put these victims in front of Congress so the world can hear what they have to say. Brian, this is a. I didn't see this coming today. We have a very busy news cycle and boom, here comes this out of left field. What are your thoughts?
Brian Glenn
Yeah, Steve, this wasn't in the rundown for your show or any other show that's here at the White House. But first lady Melania Trump stepping in front of those microphones just moments ago. Now, this was a press conference that had been scheduled. But, Steve, there was no details on what she was going to talk about. And for her to walk out. And immediately within that first sentence, you knew exactly what she was going to frame up and explain to the American people that there was no connection between President Trump, Melania Trump and Jeffrey Epstein. She absolutely cleared that up. And as you said, she has even alluded to a legal action against those three media outlets and any others that will potentially be pulled into this. But my biggest takeaway on this is what you heard at the very end is that she is calling for Congress to act on this and have those victims on the Hill have their chance to tell their story. Victims get a chance to tell their story. And for these perpetrators to be, I guess, ultimately held responsible. Big news coming out here at the White House today.
Steve Gruber
Huge news. I mean, this is a, this is a big deal. Because the Epstein cloud continues to linger around Washington, it's been especially problematic for the Trump White House, even though they may or may not have a connection to it. She said, I have no connection. I am not a victim. I am not a witness. I do not appear here. A cordial response in an email is nothing more than being polite. I'm paraphrasing a bit of what she said there. But she calls out the powerful executives. We've seen a number of people that have reside here and in Europe because of their connections and their appearance in the Epstein files. People that have lost high profile jobs. We know that she called them out. But you're Right. This, it's almost a demand that she's making the Congress. Listen, you need to put these people in front of cameras, in front of microphones and in front of the American people in the world. Let them speak. Because, look, the Epstein scandal isn't limited to the United States. It's a global problem. And trafficking of women and underage minors is a global problem. And she just put it out there for everybody to. You got to make a decision here. This is a binary call. Either you're in or you're out. There's no middle ground here, is there?
Brian Glenn
No, Steve, there's not. And you know, people have gotten rich on spreading lies about President Trump and the first lady having any type of relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. So these people have made it a business model to spread these lies. And so today it looks like that business model has just been broken. And for the victims, this is all they've ever wanted. And I know being someone that has covered this story, these victims will tell you under oath, and they've said it in testimony that President Trump had nothing to do with them. Matter of fact, the victims that met with some of the people on the Hill even said they voted for President Trump and they would vote for President Trump again. So this has nothing to do with any kind of victimization by President Trump. This has to do with spreading lies and letting these women have a chance to have a voice and tell their story. That's all they want to do today. Melania Trump. Boy, what a quick six minutes that was probably. We didn't have this on our bingo card today. Obviously it was all about.
Steve Gruber
We certainly did not.
Brian Glenn
We did not have it.
Steve Gruber
Yeah. What's going on now? I didn't have this. And I'll point out one other thing. You point out that everybody that has testified that we've seen the evidence or the tape or whatever, Bill Clinton being the most high profile person to give any deposition so far. So Donald Trump had nothing to do with any of this. I mean, one ex president who, you know, his picture appears all over Epstein's flat in Manhattan. Nothing. So I'm looking forward to what happens next. I cannot wait to see what the left leaning broadcast and cable networks do with this little gem that she just laid on the table for him. I'm kind of interested to see what they had to do with it. Brian, last word to you. You know what?
Brian Glenn
Last word. I think this is a great day for people that have been calling for more investigations. Have these women be able to have a chance to tell their story I think it's great. It obviously once again clears this administration. When I say this administration, First Lady Melania Trump, President Trump, of having any relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. That was perfectly clear today. We'll see how people in Congress react on this. And that would be first and foremost, Speaker Johnson being the speaker of the House. Let's see if that message today resonates with him and down to the people that that control these committees.
Steve Gruber
Brian Glenn from the White House today, bombshell comments from Melania Trump. Will have more coming up. Brian, thank you. Of course, as always giving us the breaking news from Washington today. Now coming up after the break, I'll discuss the fragile ceasefire with Iran. Tensions between Israel and Lebanon threaten the ceasefire, leaving many to wonder if it will hold the full two weeks or if it'll even hold two days. We'll have it all for you next on America's Voice live.

for healing, learn more and sign the pledge at working with cancer pledge.com. Cease fire deals are always fragile. They seem more fragile in the Middle East. We've been down this road before. So you've got a two week ceasefire in place. And really, as I said before the break, you're lucky if it'll hold for two days. Oftentimes, however, Iran seems to be testing the terms, like I said, as Israel continues attacks inside Lebanon. Iran threatening to close the Strait of Hormuz, which is a major stipulation and a breaking point for Trump. But so far it's in place. Earlier today, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he's authorized direct negotiations with Lebanon, quote, as soon as possible. No immediate response was given by Lebanese authorities over negotiations are expected to start next week for those two countries. We'll see how that plays out. As negotiations continue, many optimistic that maybe the ceasefire will hold along with the one between the US And Iran, and it'll lead to broader peace. Joining me to discuss is national security analyst and vice president of the Lexington Institute, Dr. Rebecca Grant. Doctor, thank you for being here. And you know, I say this because we have been down this road time and again since I was a child. We've watched war in the Middle east, some rage for six days, some rage for six months. You have a ceasefire, it's broken. There's more fighting and more killing. We're holding for two days here. Are you optimistic? How do you feel about this, this go around?
Dr. Rebecca Grant
Well, I think two days is very critical and the next few days will continue to be, I do think, hey, it's been what, a 47 year confrontation with Iran. Let's give it a couple days to settle in. Because Steve, you know, Central Command has an overwatch on Iran's forces. They're not going to tell us, but they can see what's the force posture? Does it look aggressive or what's going on in that country? They have good overwatch of the Strait of Hormuz. They can see if there are any remaining Iranian fast boats that are out There. What is the status of the Iranian, the remnants of their navy along that coast? Are they seeing any anti ship cruise missiles? Are there drone launchers trying to get into position? So that intel overwatch that our President would know about and Central Command will know about is really critical. If they say, hey, yeah, things are simmering down a little bit, then we've got a possibility. A lot rides on what happens when actual negotiations start.
Steve Gruber
You know, we talk about the state of Hormuz being open. It's been open in effect for Iranian oil takers. My understanding the Iranian oil tankers have been moving through because they have, if you will, permission. But my question, I got a couple of them here. First of all, what's left to close the Strait of Hormuz when Iran comes out and says the Strait of Hormuz is closed? What equipment do they have to do that? And second of all, maybe more importantly, who's saying it? Who is in charge of the nation of Iran at this hour? Do we know?
Dr. Rebecca Grant
Yes, the IRGC remains the focal point and the political discussion has focused on one of the speakers of the Iranian Parliament named Golubayev. He has IRGC ties, is thought to be a critical component. You know, Iran doesn't, it's not closed in the strait. There's not a tollbooth barrier across there. It is that Iran continues to make threats or to try to scare the shippers. And then a drone strike here or there over the last several weeks just makes the shippers reluctant to put that straight back on their schedule. So, you know, it really was essential for Central Command to work that target set with the Iranian navy to work the coastal targets. And then we're going to use our great overwatch from our P8s, our aircraft carrier, the Lincoln, that's still in that area and a lot of land based aircraft too to make sure that, that there isn't Iranian naval traffic interactivity that can actually threaten the cargo ships and the VLCCs as they start to move in those narrow lanes past Oman.
Steve Gruber
You know, I did see one drone strike from Iran into Saudi Arabia yesterday targeting the Petro line. Now that is a pipeline that runs basically from the Persian Gulf all the way to the Red Sea and can move 7 million barrels a day when pushed to capacity. So they could bypass the Strait of Hormuz altogether with 7 million barrels a day. That's what Iran targeted. So they've got enough left to create problems, to create fear, as you said, doctor. But can they really do much beyond creating fear? Fear enough can stop These ships, we get that, the insurance gets pulled, the ships don't move, the price of oil goes up on the global commodities exchanges and that creates economic havoc. And that's what Iran has at this point, the ability to create economic havoc in China, the United States, in Europe and wherever else. Would you agree?
Dr. Rebecca Grant
I agree. It's fear and disruption. That pipeline, as you said, carries about 7 million barrels a day. The normal outflow through the strait totals about 20 million. So it's essential to get those big VLCCs moving. Iran's ability to do anything in that strait is very, very, very diminished. And remember, we still have that massive target set of attacks on bridges and electrical power grid infrastructure, all legitimate targets. It was all pre briefed, assigned to the fighters and bombers that were going to do it. And that hammer is still in President Trump's hand if he needs that. Control of that strait is the geopolitical prize. It puts us in a really nice position against China. That gets about 40% of their oil through there. But we do want to see that strait open and flowing. And I think that that is the reason in part, that we're leaving our Central Command forces in place. As President Trump said, they are hanging around. Nobody's come home. We got to make sure the Iranians are truly willing to make a deal on Hormuz and whatever else President Trump has set out for them, including the nuclear dust.
Steve Gruber
The problem that we know, historically speaking, the Iranians are very good at one thing, Doctor. Lying. They will lie about any agreement, they'll break any deal and they'll move on. So here's the real question. If the IRGC is in control and they were decentralized about 2009, and so there's an IRGC headquarters, if you will, in all 31 provinces of Iran, my understanding. Right. So they've been decentralized. And so the question for me and for a lot of people is we've traded in the devil we know for the devil we don't. That can always be a bit of a dangerous proposition. Are you optimistic? Last word to you.
Dr. Rebecca Grant
I'm optimistic because they don't have the missiles, the drones and the factories and the industrial base that they once had. We've taken out so many targets that Iran is much, much less of a threat. That was the objective of Operation Epic Fury, and it's been met.
Steve Gruber
All right. Dr. Rebecca Grant, always a very straightforward assessment. We appreciate your experience here today. Doctor, thank you. We'll talk again soon.
Dr. Rebecca Grant
Thank you.

When I was diagnosed, all I wanted to do was get back to work. I wanted to get back to that trajectory that I was on. Prior to the cancer, I always felt like I had value. I had a place on the team to just be treated with dignity. It means everything. Research shows there is a significant connection between the ability to continue to work and cancer recovery. We can make work a better place for healing, learn more, and sign the pledge@workingwithcancerpledge.com. All right. There's a scene from Artemis 2 making their way back toward planet Earth. What a remarkable view. Can you imagine? I'd take that ride. Would you? I certainly would. Meanwhile, back here on Earth, the Democrat party becoming increasingly more disconnected from the values, it seems, of the American people. Here is the ranking member of the Armed Services Committee, Washington Democrat Representative Adam Smith, openly mocking the concept of American greatness. Listen to this. I mean, Donald Trump, Pete Hegseth, all these people spend all this time talking about, we're the United States of America, the greatest country in the history of the world. The shining city on the hill and all of that. And back in World War II when the Germans were desperate to surrender to Americans instead of Russians because we were that, it was something that we could be proud of. We are the greatest nation in the history of nations, you fool. What is wrong with these people? They eat stupid pills for breakfast. Honestly, it's galling to watch these people attack America day after day after day. They hate Donald Trump so much they will rip down your country sometimes. I've had it up to here. Today's one of those days. I'm in a mood and I'm sick and tired of people like that ripping on my country where people have worked their tails off to build something good by the grace of God, for God's sake. Anyhow, even CNN reporting the Democrats are continuing to fall behind heading into the midterms. Here's what CNN strategist and poll watcher Harry Anton had to say. Here it is.
Keith Kofler
Just take a look at this Net favorability party ahead at this point midterm of years with the GOP president in
Steve Gruber
2018, Dems were up by 12 in
Keith Kofler
2006 on net favorability. Which party, like more Dems, are ahead by 18.
Steve Gruber
Republicans are actually ahead on net favorability at this point by five points.
Keith Kofler
So Democrats are just simply put, running behind their previous benchmarks, and they need to be running well ahead, ahead of them if they want to take back the United States Senate.
Steve Gruber
Of course they're running behind. What do they stand for? Impeach Trump, hate Trump, Anything Trump does. Attack, insult Trump, insult Trump's wife, Insult anybody in Trump's orbit. What do Democrats stand for? Serious question. If you got an answer, I'm all ears. Because the only thing that I see them say consistently is anything that Donald Trump does, they disagree with. After that, I got nothing. All right. Former CIA agent and current Virginia governor Abigail Spanberger's poll numbers are worse than the Democrats. Plummeting with her failed sanctuary policies, her 50 new tax increases. Watch this clip. She runs like a cockroach exposed to the light. Here she is. The Department of Homeland Security says three out of every four people arrested in Fairfax county are illegal aliens. They're asking you to discontinue sanctuary city policies. Any comment along those lines? Governor? Governor, Any comment on the DHS request? Governor? Okay. Governor, I guess she doesn't want to talk. And take a look at what's happening in LA county in California under Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass, the mayor of Los Angeles. Hospice fraud running wild. I'm sure you've heard a bit about this frauding, defrauding the state of over $146 billion. $146 billion. It's always the blue states, isn't it? Listen, in America's fraud investigations bring us to the golden state of California. Look at this number.
Dr. Rebecca Grant
$146 billion.
Steve Gruber
Health and human Service officials confirmed that number to cross Chris Rufo as the staggering amount of fraud in a single program in Gavin Newsom state Medicaid system. Yeah. And isn't that great? Yeah. That's what Gavin Newsom wants to do for the rest of the United States. Have it turn into California.
Brian Glenn
Brilliant.
Steve Gruber
Brilliant idea, Right? It's always the blue states, isn't it? All right. When the dollar's convertibility into gold ended back in 1971, gold was fixed at about $35 an ounce. Fast forward to today. The United States dollar has lost over 85% of its purchasing power. Gold, on the other hand, has increased in value by over 12,000%. That's why Central banks are buying gold at record numbers right now. That's why major firms like Vanguard and BlackRock hold significant positions in gold. Regardless what you think of those corporations, they're buying gold and that's why I encourage you to consider diversifying your savings with physical gold from the Birch Gold Group. It starts with education. Birch School just announced their Learn and Earn Precious Metals event. This free online event rewards you for learning the basics of investing in precious metals. Coming up after the break, President Trump met with NATO chief Mark Ruta yesterday. Caroline Levitt gave us an idea of what the President thinks of NATO, especially after their unwillingness to help us at all in the warm with Iran, even to use our own bases. A little bit more on that coming up next.

When I was diagnosed, all I wanted to do was get back to work. I wanted to get back to that trajectory that I was on prior to the cancer. I always felt like I had value. I had a place on the team to just be treated with dignity. It means everything. Research shows there is a significant connection between the ability to continue to work and cancer recovery. We can make work a better place for Learn more and sign the pledge@workingwithcancerpledge.com. Well, President Trump met with NATO chief Mark Ruta yesterday after Most of the 32 NATO nations refused to help the United States in opening and keeping open the Straits of Hormuz. The White House did not reveal contents of that conversation, but here's Caroline Levitt with the White House's response.
Cameron Kenzie
Listen, I have a direct quote from the president of the United States on NATO, and I will share it with all of you. They were tested and they failed. And I would add, it's quite sad that NATO turned their backs on the American people over the course of the last six weeks when it's the American people who have been defunding their defense. As you know, President Trump will be meeting with Secretary Ruta in a couple of hours here at the White House. And I know he looks forward to having a very frank and candid conversation with him.
Steve Gruber
All right, here to discuss is the managing editor for the Daily Signal, Keith Kofler. Keith, glad to have you here about this NATO. Look, Donald Trump mentioned this a while back and I thought about this. He said, look, we're always there when they call, but do you really think that the NATO alliance is going to be there when the United States causes we need help, Are they going to be there? And he said, I don't think so. I don't think so either, Keith. I don't see him coming. I mean, what is the, is the Kingdom of Denmark going to come defend New York City?
Keith Kofler
I mean, honestly, it's never crossed their mind. And apparently Mark Ruta was, was seen limping out of that Oval Office meeting and had to be escorted to the hospital. He got a trip to the woodshed like nobody's business. It was described as a open and frank discussion, which is Washington talk for brutal. Trump really went after him. And it was, it was a really tough meeting, which Ruta deserved every moment of. And like you say, you know, we've been defending these European countries for 75 years, so Trump's a little mean to them. He's not always very polite and so forth. However, we are defending them and have. And then when we need their help, not only are they unsupportive, but they won't even let us use their airspace. I mean, this is, this is, this is absurd.
Steve Gruber
Bases.
Keith Kofler
Yeah, there are bases that we said.
Steve Gruber
Our bases. Yeah. We're not allowed to use them. So I heard somebody suggest this, and maybe this is too much, Keith, and maybe it's not, but I'll let you consider this. All right, so you're not gonna let us use our bases in the UK or Germany or France or wherever. Tell you what, how about we bring home 120 or 150,000 US military personnel and just close those bases and when Russia comes knocking, which you're always paranoid about, Europe, you just deal with it, you go ahead and handle that yourself. How about that?
Keith Kofler
Yeah, they'll be weeping and crying and begging for those troops back because they have decided European, it's a historic moment, has decided that they're not going to defend themselves anymore. And the only defense they have is us. And particularly in the case of Iran, because, remember, the reason we attacked Iran was because they're developing nuclear weapons. What do they have? They have medium range missiles that can hit Europe. They can't hit the United States yet. So we went to war to defend Europe against the possibility that the mullahs were going to drop nuclear bombs on their heads. And now they won't even come to help us out. So, yeah, let's bring them home and, and, and, and defend the United States instead of being over there.
Steve Gruber
And here's the other thing. Here's the other thing, Keith. Couple years now, it's not going to happen overnight, but a couple years down the road from now, Venezuela will be putting out about three and a half million barrels a day. They're at about a million now. They're all the way down to 700,000. Guyana's gonna be up to about a million and a half, maybe 2 million barrels a day because they're ramping up. If we continue production in America, see, we're about 8 million barrels short, give or take 7, maybe any given day. But with Venezuela, Guyana and more production in the United States, we don't need to mess with that anymore. Europe needs that oil. We don't. So if you don't want the Strait of Hormuz open. I don't care. I don't care. China. I don't care if China gets oil. I don't care. And should I?
Keith Kofler
Well, in the short term, there will be pain if the Strait of Hormuz is not open. I mean, we do have to find a way to get that open. But in the long term, we need to. We're going to be extracting oil from Venezuela. We have plenty here in the United States. There is, you know, there is endless amounts of oil to be drilled still. And that's not a problem. We just have to take it out of the right places and as quickly as possible reduce our dependence on the Gulf. We should have done that many years ago. They've done this before. Cut off the supplies of oil before during the Arab Israeli war in 1973. And it's enough of depending on that region. We have our own access to oil. That is much more easy to get over to the United States than having to depend on upon a bunch of Iranian Revolutionary Guards to let it through.
Steve Gruber
Exactly. You know, here's what Europe should do. They should buy LNG from the United States. That's number one. We should help develop Venezuela, Guyana and other friendly nations in the Western Hemisphere to produce all the oil we need. We should put California back. The Defense Production act has been triggered by the President saying to a couple of companies in California, start producing again. California at one point produced 40% of all the oil in America. They have a tremendous amount of oil in California. If not for the tree huggers and the bunny lovers, we would be using that oil today. Green new dealers are dealing us bad cards. I think it's safe to say we have solutions here because America has more natural resources than any other piece of real estate in the world. I'm talking timber, farmland, fresh water, oil, coal. You pick it, we've got it and we should use it. Last word to you.
Keith Kofler
Well, absolutely. I mean, we have the oil here. I think that the whole. You know, you do hear a lot less talk about global warming when gas prices go up. Okay. The American people understand that they don't need to depend on expensive renewable fuels. And not only that, the solar panels come from China, so we don't need any of that. There's oil in Canada, there's oil here. We've just got to shift our focus. And that's what the President has been doing.
Steve Gruber
Yeah. You also hear a lot less about climate change and global warming. When New York City and Washington hit by two major blizzards in one winter. You know, it's weird when the snow gets three feet deep, they kind of forget about that stuff that was caused by global warming. You today, of course, I understand that. You know, global warming and climate change, it's a magical thing. It explains everything. Too much snow, Climate change, no snow. Climate change explains everything. It's magical. Keith, thank you for being here.
Keith Kofler
Thank you.
Steve Gruber
Good stuff. So I'm having some fun today. Don't go anywhere. America's Voice Live will continue after a brief commercial break where I'll discuss everyone's favorite time of the year. Yeah, tax season. But first, let's take a look at real America's music. Latest release, ammunition, by Rachel Holt. Here it is.

On ammunition. Where does the time go? I mean, honestly, where does the time go? It just clicks away and all of a sudden, here we are again. Even more evident because what's the date? Today is like tax day, just like a week from now, really. April 15th is already upon us. Can you believe that? While some may think they can ignore the deadline and just skate by, the IRS will ensure you that that is a bad decision in the form of sky high interest, missed refunds, penalties and all sorts of pressure. You do not want here to talk with me about this. Tax Network USA spokesperson, Cameron Kenzie. Cameron, nice to see you today. Tax day next week, right?
Cameron Kenzie
Yes, it's next week. We're getting an influx of calls, Steve, and we're kind of all hearing the same thing here at Tax Network usa. We have so many people putting this off until the last minute. You do not want to be the day before the deadline and not know what resources are available or your options. That's why it's so important to have a professional service like Tax Network usa, because I. The average individual doesn't know the tax code inside and out. The IRS isn't just going to advertise your options for free. Their job is to collect in this moment. And so your job is to protect yourself to the best ability. And that's you know, with a professional service like Tax Network USA, having CPAs, licensed tax attorneys, even former IRS agents who know the tax code inside and out and are willing to help you.
Steve Gruber
So the phone is ringing off the hook at TN usa. I mean, that would make sense. People are like, wait a second, I gotta do something. But then there's the people on the other side. What happens if somebody just says, you know what? I don't care. I'm not gonna deal with. They just ignore the balance and just plow right through April 15th like nothing's gonna happen. What really happens?
Cameron Kenzie
I know. I mean, a lot of people ask this, and the IRS will start to send notices. These notices will begin to escalate, Steve. And if it be continues to be unresolved, it can lead to tax liens, wage garnishments, even bank levies. And unfortunately, by that point, you're not negotiating from a position of strength anymore. Every single day passes, penalties will stack up. Your options become less and less and less. So it's really just important to get ahead of it. Start early. Don't wait until enforcement begins.
Steve Gruber
Yeah, I call those nasty grams. When the nasty grams start to hit your mailbox, they are unfriendly, they're unpleasant, they are unsettling. All right, so what should somebody do right now? They're watching you and I right now, Cameron. And they know they're going to owe. They know they don't have the money in the bank. They've got a jam, They've got a problem. What can they do to at least make a plan, to have a strategy?
Cameron Kenzie
Yeah, well, I would say you should call now. I think a lot of people let fear drive their decisions. And honestly, we've saved our. Our clients over a billion dollars in back taxes, Steve, So there's nothing that we haven't seen before. There's no case too small or too big. You shouldn't be embarrassed. This is something that every single American goes through. A lot of people have this weight on their shoulders right now. They don't know where to start. They don't know what their options are. We've worked with gig workers, salaried employees, retirees, W2. So we've seen basically everything. So don't let fear control your life. You should call now. You should at least take us up on our free consult. You can call us at 1-800-905-8000. We also do a free investigative and discovery call to see where you stayed with the IRS as well. Have they assigned an agent to your case? What are your options? Things like this, we normally only do that once you become a client and normally costs hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. But we do this for our RAV listeners for free. Free. So take full advantage of that. You guys, you guys have options, but a lot of people have this thing where they put those letters in a drawer, they hope this goes away. They wait until the day before, and you know, that's when you know your options are going to become limited.
Steve Gruber
Yeah. Here's the tough question. Is it worse to file and not pay or just skip filing altogether? Because if you're there and you file your taxes and suddenly you realize you owe a lot more than you realized or there's some reason you don't have the money or the car broke down and you, you've got to decide, car or taxes. Again, is it worse to file and not pay or not file at all?
Cameron Kenzie
Yeah, I would say not filing is the absolute worst in this scenario because the failure to file penalty is significantly higher than the failure to pay penalty. So even if you can't write out a check from your pocket for the full amount, you should still file the return because that will automatically protect you from the most aggressive penalties right now, right out of the gate. It shows good faith. It shows that you're trying to resolve the issue at least.
Steve Gruber
Yeah. Stand up, take it like a man. Get in there, tell him he just can't pay. But file your taxes. Don't ignore it. Cameron, always. Thank you for being here.
Cameron Kenzie
Thank you so much, Steve.
Melania Trump
Have a good one.
Steve Gruber
You as well. For everyone at home, look, make sure you're in good shape. All right, what makes America wonderful? We do it every day because I want to put a smile on your face before you go on with the rest of your afternoon. Today's story comes to us from New Jersey, where state authorities turned an unusual call into a heartwarming rescue. One afternoon, state troopers from the New Jersey State Police were dispatched to an unexpected scene along I78. The report was simple. A lone black bear cub spotted sitting in a roadside ditch. When the troopers arrived, they found just that. And given the situation, they moved fast to secure the cub and look around the surrounding area for mom, because that can be a bit dangerous, by the way. When that proved to be of no avail, the troopers handed over the cub to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, where he is getting, well, the care he needs. He became a loafer. Protecting all life, no matter the species, is an effort we can all get behind. And the efforts by the New Jersey State Police troop showcase that in spades. And today reminds us of what makes America wonderful. Here's a little trivia question for you. What state in America has the biggest black bears? All right. Anybody? New Jersey. Strange but true. There you go. Little tidbit for a nugget. Go ahead, fact check me. I'll be right here. What do recent criticisms of NATO's response to the Iran war tell us about the alliance's future? Barbara A. Fitzgerald says need new peeps and seats. Otherwise it should end if they can't stand beside us. And our president can't argue with that. Candace522 Denying US use of bases that we fund in airspace we protect is a betrayal, especially after we've spent so much money on Ukraine, who isn't even a NATO member. It's time we scale back both funding and personnel. We don't have to pull out completely, but definitely limit resources. John Hogan has this. The NATO alliance is coming to an end. I believe there might be truth in that. Virginia MarchAnd if they are not for you, they are against you. You know, didn't Ronald Reagan say that either you're with us or you're against us? Or maybe it was George W. Todd Bayshore writes, both NATO and the U.N. yeah, they both gotta go. Which is worse, Todd, the UN or NATO? And Paul has this we stay engaged by contributing funds only to 50% of the average contribution. Close all bases, return them to the United States and build up our existing bases with those resources. Develop the technical STEM skills and competencies to build bases. No troops in support. Telling you the mood in this country is changing. People are sick and tired of getting sent the bill and then getting the middle finger when we need help. I'm telling you, that's where we are.
