Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Welcome to America's Voice Live. I'm Bo Davidson here in our Long Island, New York studio, filling in for the great Steve Gruber. Today is Friday 26th December in the year of our Lord 2025. It is the day after Christmas. And from all of us here at Real America's Voice, we hope you had a joyous Christmas with your loved ones. Let's get into today's top stories. As always, thank you for joining us here on Real America's Voice. We truly appreciate your patronage. Thank you. First up today, the Trump administration has recalled 30 plus ambassadors for the US and Congress has convened for the holiday season. We will tackle those points today. Also, the flu season is in full swing with experts noting that this variant is more contagious than any other years. But should Americans shelter in place and get their shots? Or are these concerns merely over exaggerated? More on that as well. And then later, with the year coming to a close, many are looking ahead to the economy to dictate what the trajectory means for their pockets. All that in today's edition of America's Voice live. But first, I want to start here. President Trump recently announced that the United States carried out decisive airstrikes in northwest Nigeria on Christmas night targeting ISIS militants he blames for the brutal killings of Christians. Trump warned the strikes would not be a one time act action, saying further attacks will follow if the violence continues. And Nigeria's Ministry of Foreign affairs later confirmed it was engaged in structured security cooperation with the U.S. and other partners, saying intelligence sharing and strategic coordination led to what it called, quote, precision hits on terrorist targets. The operation followed a blunt warning from Trump last month when he said the United States would take actions Nigeria, quote, was not going to be happy about if the killing of Christians did not stop. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said the Christmas night strikes fulfilled the president's demand to end the violence. Nearly a month later, the Trump administration escalated pressure again, rolling out a new visa restriction policy aimed at those responsible for religious violence. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the policy allows the US to deny visas to individuals who have directed, supported or carried out violations of religious freedom. The move comes amid a surge in deadly attacks. Gunmen stormed the Christ Apostolic Church in Kwara State, killing two worshipers and kidnapping dozens. Just days later, attackers raided a Catholic school in Niger State, abducting more than 300 students and staff. And hundreds remain in captivity. Trump has now designated Nigeria a, quote, country of particular concern for religious freedom, a label Nigerian officials dispute even as they acknowledge cooperating with the US Ahead of the Christmas strikes. Joining me now to discuss this is a former United States Marine and a candidate for Senate in Colorado, Colonel George Washington Markert. Colonel, it's great to be with you today on this day after Christmas. You know, Nigeria has been a particular country of concern to this administration for quite a while now. Why have we seen a surge in attacks on Christians there, do you think?
Steve Gruber / Host of America's Voice Live
Actually, this is something that's been going on for quite some time. I actually have served in that part of the world, partnered with Nigerian military, Senegalese, Ghana. I've gone to the Naval War College with members of military from Ecowas nations, West Africa. And we've been talking about these types of attacks, Boko Haram, Islamic State there for quite some time. And I think at this point it's just got to be a little bit too much. And one thing we have to realize and remember is that despite the fact that China is a pacing threat, that Russia presents geopolitical challenges. Violent extremist organizations still operate around the globe, and they threaten the interests not only of us, but our allies and partners.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Well, let me ask you this, because we are targeting ISIS here. In these strikes, has ISIS always had a particular foothold in Nigeria?
Steve Gruber / Host of America's Voice Live
Somewhat, yes. And so, you know, if you look back in the last six or seven years or so, once the physical caliphate of ISIS was defeated, the middle Euphrates river valley, which is on the border of Iraq and Syria, it still had pockets in North Africa, Afghanistan and other places. And in North Africa, even from the earliest days of what used to be called the global war on terrorism, after 9 11, Al Qaeda operated freely in the Sahel and other parts. We've seen operations in Mali and Niger. These types of elements that we're going to be operating in these ungoverned spaces, at least what they determine to be ungoverned spaces, probably in perpetuity. And you have to be able to deter them, fight them, and then make sure they don't commit mass atrocities.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Well, Colonel, as I was reading some of the email this morning that came through regarding this particular strike, I noticed there was a particular guy named Judd Saul, who's the founder of truthnigeria.com, i guess he's been doing some reporting there. He claims that we went after the wrong target and that while, of course, action against ISIS is welcome, as you said, you know, we've gotta stamp it out wherever we can that the enemy really is the Fulani ethnic militia. Would you say that that's accurate? And what can you tell me about the Fulani ethnic militia?
Steve Gruber / Host of America's Voice Live
You know, I haven't really seen any reporting that would substantiate that. Not to say that, you know, as the. In the days and weeks ahead, if, particularly if these strikes continue, we may see some, you know, additional clarity regarding that. But I think for right now, the main target, Islamic State, I mean, they've been around for over a decade, obviously presented some extreme challenges in Iraq proper. And, you know, we had a sustained campaign to defeat them. They're going to go and try to seek out a safe haven wherever they can in places like North Africa, Central Asia, and the Arabian Peninsula. And so I think that sending a message like this is certainly appropriate.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Colonel, you know, let's focus on the Nigerian government as well, because I'd like to know if you think that they are to blame, in part, in whole, how much you think that they're to blame for allowing the proliferation of ISIS in their country.
Steve Gruber / Host of America's Voice Live
Well, I think it's up to this point. They probably were limited in resources in terms of being able to address that. My interaction with members of the military and other government officials in that part of Africa, and my experience there goes back about 15 years, was that they were routinely. They would come to me and other people and ask for assistance with addressing this problem. And so if you look at where the strikes occurred, it's up in the northwestern portion, right up on the border with Nigeria, and their primary population centers and all that are down the coast in the gulf of Guinea, Lagos and places like that. And so, like I said, I used the term before ungoverned spaces or areas where you typically don't necessarily have a strong governmental presence. And so at this point, in my understanding is that we have partnered with the Nigerian government, intelligence sharing and other things in terms of targeting and executing these strikes, which is appropriate to and the right thing to do. And so I think at this point, the situation probably got a little out of control and required our intervention.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
So if that's the case and they realize it's a problem, why does the Nigerian government still claim it's really not as big of a deal as we think that it is?
Steve Gruber / Host of America's Voice Live
I think there's probably some different and competing voices inside the Nigerian government. The statements that I saw come out of the more senior government officials Seem to be aligned with what our administration was talking about as well.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Well, colonel, with strategic attacks against ISIS like this one, does this send the intended message? I'm just curious how effective strikes like this are. Or does ISIS take this as martyrdom and we'll see retaliation for it?
Steve Gruber / Host of America's Voice Live
That, you know, that certainly has been the trend in the past. I mean, we've got 25 years of history to fall back on, you know, and actually, you can go back probably about 40 years, because a lot of the. The global terrorist activity led up to nine, 11 started in about 1993 and even even somewhat earlier. And so a lot of times you will see retaliatory attacks, but at the same time, you know, we are employing weapons that they cannot counter. And certainly if we continue to partner with the Nigerian government and make sure that these strikes are precise as well as achieve the desired effects, which is to destroy their capabilities, but then also put them on their heels, just like we did with Al Qaeda back in 2001, 2002, 2003. You had Al Shabaab in the Horn of Africa. The list goes on and on. Organization. We worked extensively in the Philippines against an Al Qaeda affiliate there and all over southeast Asia. And so these have proven to be effective. But there always is a threat of retaliation.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Well, is there any particular reason, for instance, that the administration is striking ISIS in this country, Nigeria, for any other reason than the killing of Christians? Because obviously anytime Christians are attacked, Jews are attacked, you know, any religious group is attacked, it's important to stamp that out, especially with a group as prolific as isis. But is there any strategic reason for going after Nigeria for anything potentially beneficial to us strategically for the United States, do you think?
Steve Gruber / Host of America's Voice Live
Well, they are actually rich in natural resources. You know, like I said, I've interacted with senior members of their government and military over the years and have been to neighboring countries. It's the most populous country in Africa and they are a major player, particularly when you talk about ecowas, so the, you know, the economic West African states, you know, the group there that, you know, basically bands together and fights terrorists and they're part of the continent and so they take a leadership role in that part along with countries like Senegal, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Cameroon. But Nigeria in my experience has always been the leader. And so they've got some very, very well educated and capable military members that have done a lot of care on terrorism operations already have worked with the UN and other organizations like that. Then of course it's an oil nation, they export oil. And, and I think that this is really a multi front effort to partner with them, make sure that we continue to conduct counterterrorism operations on a global scale and then also protect the interests of the Christians and other peoples.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Colonel, just in terms of this notion of globalize the Intifada movement, I was speaking with actually a survivor from Israel who was held in Gaza by Hamas there and just ask. And he was saying that that is not just a slogan, that it is a reality. And so I'm curious to know just from your personal experience and your dealings obviously in that part of the country and just your military experience in general, how real is this threat in terms of the globalized antifada, that it's not just a slogan, it's not just jargon, that it is very real. And subsequently, where else in the world could we see that continue to happen?
Steve Gruber / Host of America's Voice Live
So it's actually a very real threat. And this is something that once 9, 11 came around, all of us have stuck around. I mean I stuck around for another 20 plus years in the, in the Marine Corps and, and all military professionals started to really study the history of, you know, Muslim extremists and as well as violent extremist organizations. And, and there was this, you know, term that we would look at called the third Caliphate. Right which was the aim was to resurrect that. And if you go back in history, I'm talking thousands of years, that is something that covered all of North Africa, most of Europe, Turkey, the Middle East. And there is a sense that there are organizations out there that want to resurrect that. And so it's actually three continents are threatened by that. And then as we saw by 9 11, there's a transnational transcontinental reach that threatens our homeland. And we need to always be vigilant in terms of protecting our borders and implementing security measures so that we don't get a repeat of that event. And so if you go back and study history, you see that this was actually achieved once before and was fought back. And then now, you know, there are elements out there that feel like it's appropriate to regain that posture. And so we have to be ever vigilant against that.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Now you're 100% right. Well, thank you so much for illuminating this issue for us because it is, it's a global thing. A lot of people probably saying, well, it's a great idea that President Trump is targeting people who are targeting Christians. But it sounds like strategically there's a lot more behind the layers as you peel the layers of the onion back. So, Colonel, thank you so much for your time today and Merry Christmas to you and Happy New Year. Year.
Steve Gruber / Host of America's Voice Live
Happy New Year, Bo. Thank you.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Well, coming up after the break, President Trump has recalled 30 plus ambassadors as part of his realignment efforts for his administration. Meanwhile, Congress has seemingly left multiple battles unfinished before convening for the holiday break. We'll talk about all that next.

Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Welcome back to AVL. A few days ago, the Trump administration recalled 30 plus US ambassadors noting that their post would end in the beginning of 2026. The role of an ambassador relies heavily on having a strong political presence for their respective country, as this presence also advocates for peace treaties, the fostering of trade and crisis management, placing heavy importance on who is elected to be not only a US Ambassador, but an ambassador for any country. And when asked for a comment, a senior State Department official told reporters that personnel changes are standard. Let's not also forget that these roles are at the president's discretion. And this decision to recall these ambassadors could signal replacements that are more willing to follow the America first agenda. On another note, Congress has convened for the holidays and is set to return in early January with a full docket ahead of them, including addressing health care costs. That's a big one. And redistricting efforts, which are both on the list of issues to tackle on the GOP agenda for 2026. Joining me to discuss is GOP strategist and President of Digital Art, Frontline Strategies, Mike Hahn. Mike, thank you so much for being with me this day. After Christmas, some career diplomats are calling this move unprecedented. Why is that and is that accurate?
Mike Hahn / GOP Strategist
I'm not sure why they're calling it unprecedented. I mean, these are ambassadors that were holdovers from the Biden administration. They're folks that likely do not align with the president's agenda abroad. These ambassadors serve at the pleasure of the president. You touched on that in your monologue. So, no, it's not exactly unprecedented to recall ambassadors. And I also read that they can return to Washington, D.C. and still be placed in jobs within the State Department. Their duties abroad are just being rescinded. So, no, I don't think it's unprecedented at all. I think the president has every right to appoint ambassadors that agree with his agenda. I think this is a huge difference between Trump 2.0 and Trump 1.0 is that in the first term, he had a lot of holdovers from the Obama administration that would consistently derail his agenda. And he certainly learned from that in the second term here. So he has every right to do this, and I think it's a great call.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Well, you mentioned that they are Biden era appointed positions. So with an ambassadorship, does it make any difference on whether those appointed could do their jobs in a neutral manner? I mean, you mentioned that some of them may not have an America first agenda. Would they be truly neutral or how does that affect foreign policy if a Biden era appointee is in their position? And do you think they would or is the implication that they're not going to be America first in their respective position?
Mike Hahn / GOP Strategist
Yeah, I think it's safe to assume that if they're Biden appointees, they're not gonna necessarily follow the orders of the current president under President Trump. But look, we're talking about really important sections of the world here. We're talking about parts of Africa, parts of Asia. Africa is in the news today because of the strikes in Niger. So I think that having ambassadors in these countries that reflect the positions of the current administration is going to be and prove essential. And I think the President has every right to put people there that he trusts.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Well, in cases of turnover, a replacement is already slated to take up the mantle. Do you think the Trump administration has someone in mind from what you have seen for any of these 30 positions?
Mike Hahn / GOP Strategist
I'm sure. Look, they've appointed great ambassadors all across the world in just the last year here. So if they recall on these folks, I'm fairly confident they're gonna have replacements pretty soon. And I know we're talking about in next segment, it's just really going to be up to the Senate to really get these folks approved and stop all the derailing that's going on there.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
How are ambassadors selected? Maybe you could give us a little insight into what the qualifications are and what they look for. Obviously an America first agenda is very important to them, but how do they go about selecting that group of people in a particular area of the world that's of concern? Nigeria could be one of them. The Middle east, obviously these are very important positions. How do they go about this?
Mike Hahn / GOP Strategist
Sure, you usually are looking at someone who has close ties to the country that they're going to be operating in. These are folks in business, folks that are in politics or formerly in politics, people that have studied certain areas. So these are people that again, they have to align with what the President who's appointing them agrees with when it comes to that country. And they're someone that is going to really be the face of the United States in this country at all different various functions. So it's someone that we have to have a lot of pride in and a lot of trust in to represent this abroad.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
That's certainly true. Well spoken. Well, Mike, you know, we mentioned Congress convening for the holidays and already addressing things like health care costs for next year. What is the GOP's position on addressing this key issue? Because it keeps coming up. I've certainly noticed it. I mean, just in terms of healthcare premiums, has there been a Trumpcare alternative? How are Mike Johnson and his team going to address this issue come 2026?
Mike Hahn / GOP Strategist
Just a few days away, before Congress went out, there was a lot of talk from many different Republicans, from the Rand Pauls of the world to the Ron Johnson's of the world, talking about how they could properly get a healthcare system that works for the U.S. look, I think that the point here is that we have to try and wean the country off of Obamacare before we get anything in stone here because at the end of the day, Obamacare is unaffordable. We're starting to see the cracks of it form now because when the government subsidies end, that's when people's premiums start to go through the roof. It's more or less really getting rid of Obamacare and then we can get something in place. I'm sure the Republicans will come together and find the proper system to that and make sure that no one goes without health care throughout this process here.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Well, yeah, exactly. And it affects Republicans and Democrats, affects us all. So I really hope they tackle this issue and I know they're taking it seriously. I just know it's tough to get stuff passed. But they do need to come up with an alternative. Well, Micah, finally there were Some really good Q3 GDP numbers. What can that be attributed to? And what is that forecast for 2026? Do you think we'll see any residual incoming from the tariffs? What do you think those numbers, great.
Mike Hahn / GOP Strategist
Numbers to start closing out the year here. Look, I think 2026, the outlook is very good. We're going to have a new Fed chair who's going to lower interest rates. We're going to have the one big beautiful bill start to kick in. No tax on tips, no tax on Social Security, no tax on overtime. As soon as we start to see these things, these are actual tangible differences, people's opinion on the economy are certainly going to start to change. Then like you mentioned, we also have the tariffs, too. We're going to start getting tariff rebate checks and hopefully at some point they could actually lower taxes even more than the one big beautiful bill does because we can start to pay things through the tariffs that we're bringing in from other countries. So I think 2026 is going to be a tremendous outlook for the economy. And I think Democrats try to play this political game on the economy is not going to work out all too well.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
I'm really hopeful, Mike, that these tariffs pay off because I know that that was a big, not to say gamble for the Trump administration, but for people to actually see the result of that. If you can lower taxes and you can send Americans rebate checks from a tar, I think everyone will praise him. At that point, basically you have no choice but to praise him. So Mike on Thank you so much. President of Digital at Frontline Strategies, thanks for joining me today. And happy New Year, sir.
Mike Hahn / GOP Strategist
Happy New Year. Have a good weekend.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live

Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Welcome back to America's Voice Live. I'm Bo Davidson in for Steve today. Here are some stories to keep you in the know the US is on pace for the largest one year drop in murders on record from January 20 to 2424 until October of 2025. Across 570 law enforcement agencies. Mass killings have reached their lowest levels since 2006, following an increase in crime after a Covid era spike. The Real Time Crime Index shows nearly a 20% decrease in murders compared to last year. These stats do not include manslaughter, self defense, negligence or accidental killings. Motor vehicle thefts were down 23.2%, aggravated assaults are down 7.5% and robberies are down 18.3%. New York City saw nearly a 20% drop, Chicago saw almost a 28% drop and even Los Angeles saw nearly a 19% drop in murders. FBI data will not be released until next year, although Johnston County, North Carolina and Gilbert, Arizona saw increases of 600% now. In D.C. where President Trump deployed the National Guard, there was nearly a 28% decrease in murder rates. FBI data will be released in 2026. Meanwhile, gold is expected to surge nearly 70% in 2026, following a 26% gain in 2024. This compressed upward move signals imminent danger as global debt dynamics threaten nearly every single country. Capital is fleeing to physical gold, which remains scarce relative to fiat money. Global M2 money supply is growing 7 to 9%, while world gold stock stands at 216,000 tons. Central banks are rushing to add 1,000 tons to their coffers, well above the normal 400 to 500 tons. Anticipating a potential crisis. High interest rates drive investors to demand risk premiums on sovereign debt. The US is at 120%, France 117%, Italy 136% and Germany 65%. Gold remains the safest haven with bitcoin, as digital gold is operating independently of state control. The demand for gold is expected to continue through 2026. The Supreme Court refused to stay a lower court order blocking the Trump administration from deploying National Guard troops to Chicago. Justice Samuel Alito dissented, calling the 63 decision unwise and imprudent. Illinois Governor J.B. pritzker celebrated the ruling, saying he is, quote, glad SCOTUS ruled the president does not have the authority to deploy the federalized Guard in Illinois, calling it an important step in curbing Trump's, quote, consistent abuse of power. Uc Berkeley law professor John Yoo told Fox News SCOTUS did not issue a final ruling. Here's you what does regular forces mean? We don't know.
Steve Gruber / Host of America's Voice Live
The Supreme Court has never decided that question before yesterday.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
The Supreme Court now says regular forces means you have to try with the regular armed forces first before you can bring out the National Guard. So, so the unintended consequence here might be that the president is going to have to call the 82nd Airborne or the Marines or the 101st Airborne Division, as for example, President Eisenhower did after Brown versus Board of Education in the south to enforce desegregation. President Trump might have to do that first in order to protect those federal.
Dr. Jeff Barkey / Primary Care Physician
Buildings, those ICE agents. And then if they fail, he can.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Then call out the National Guard. Now you did add this is only a preliminary decision and Trump may still challenge it for a final ruling on the merits of the case. We will certainly keep you updated. Well, let me be blunt folks. Gold is up around 40% this year. That's not speculation. That is reality. And if a portion of your savings isn't diversified into gold, well you're missing the boat because here are the facts. Inflation is still too high, the US Dollar is still too weak and the government debt is insurmountable. Now this is why central banks are flocking to gold. They're the ones driving prices up to record highs. But it is not too late to buy gold from Birch Gold Group and get in the door now because Birch Gold will help you convert an existing IRA or a 401 into a tax sheltered IRA. In gold, you don't pay a single dime out of pocket. All you gotta do is the following. Just text America to 98-98-98 and claim your free info kit. There's no obligation at all, just useful information. The best indicator of the future is always the past. And gold has historically been a safe haven for millennia. What else can say that? So just one more time, text the word America to 989-898 right now to claim your free info kit on Gold. That's America to 989898 protect your future today with Birch 989-898 protect your future today with Birch Gold. Well coming up right after the break. A new form of the flu is sweeping the nation this season, but is there any real reason to worry about it? We'll talk about it more after the break, so be sure you stay tuned for this next segment.

Beautiful view there of Seattle. Welcome back to avl. This season there seems to be an increase in a new form of the flu. Experts are saying that it is a mutation of the influenza virus and the main culprit is rising in global cases. Of course, with the rise of these cases, the CDC is already recommending to the public that they need their flu vaccines. Extremely typical, of course, ever since COVID and the reliance on vaccines being a cure for pretty much every illness. But you have to question how necessary it is when even fake news media makes their audience aware that they got their flu shots. Take a look at this. You know, it's interesting, Jaclyn, I got my flu shot as they do every year, weeks ago and as my doctor recommended, get the flu shot shot. Is this, is it too late now for folks to go out there and get the flu shot to avoid coming down with the flu? It's not too late, Wolf, and I'm.
Washington Post Advertiser
So happy to hear you got your flu shot. I did, too. But for those of us who may see this news and they're worried about.
Unrivaled Basketball Announcer
Did I miss a certain window?
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
It's not too late. Yeah, a little bit of virtue signaling there, I would say. And when you see smiling faces like that, how can you continue, you know, how can you not assume that they are continuing to line the pockets of big pharma potentially? Which leads to the question, are these vaccines actually necessary? Well, joining me discuss this topic is primary care physician and author of unavoidably unsafe, Dr. Jeff Barkey. Dr. Barkey, thank you so much for being with me today. We appreciate you. And you have an awesome patriotic red, white and blue chair behind you, which I love on this topic. Doctor, are flu vaccines really necessary? Is my first question. And how effective are they this year?
Dr. Jeff Barkey / Primary Care Physician
Bo, first of all, thank you for having me on Real America's Voice. It's always an honor to be here no, absolutely not. First of all, we don't have a flu season. We have a drink too much, eat like crap, stay indoors, go to big parties, expose ourselves, don't get any exercise and not enough sleep season. And as a result of not people not taking care of themselves, of course they're more susceptible to getting sick. Are the flu shots safe and effective? Absolutely not. First of all, the multi dose vials still have have thimerosal in it. That's a mercury derived preservative. We don't know if they're effective until after the flu season. They have not been tested this season's version or any season's version. So it's only after the flu season do we look back and even know if they work. So I'm not a huge fan of getting the flu shot. What I am a huge fan of is taking care of yourself, not drinking too much, eating clean, getting outdoors, getting some exercise, getting plenty of rest. And if you do get the flu, for the vast majority of people, you take care of yourself. You have a God given immune system that will fight off influenza and you will be fine with some basic holistic parameters of getting better like hydrate and rest and high dose vitamin C for a while. Manage your vitamin D level, get some zinc and elderberry. Some antivirals can be effective like, like ivermectin, echinacea, licorice root and others. And by all means get outside and get some sunshine. This is nothing we should fear. But the media wants us to fear it and wants the line to pockets of big pharma. Of course, as they always do, stop listening to the media, start listening to your own body and hopefully your holistic physician that can guide you.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Well, is there a correlation, doctor? Because I know with COVID and obviously that vaccine it was untested. You know, we know this now as an MRNA vaccine, which is different, my understanding, from an actual flu vaccine. But is there a correlation between the push for Covid vaccines and now this push for flu vaccines? Is that just, I mean, I hate to say it. Is that just a financial push for big Pharma to have you get the shot?
Dr. Jeff Barkey / Primary Care Physician
Well, 100%, Bo. First of all, the COVID vaccine should be removed from the market. It is neither safe nor effective. It causes more harm than good. We're now seeing turbo cancers and immune dysregulation. It is not a safe product and nobody should be getting it. I just had a patient the other day call me. Four days of horrible illness. He went to a pharmacy, got convinced to Take a flu shot. And while he was there, he got his fifth booster for the COVID vaccine. No wonder why he's sick. We're seeing this all over the place. Stop listening to the media. Stop going to pharmacies. Start taking care of your own body. Learn how to do that. Master your own health. Follow me on Instagram. I will teach you how to do that at Rx for Liberty.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
All right, Doctor, I've got to know this because is there a difference between the illness that someone acquires from the flu if they've had the vaccine, versus not? Because I've always been told, I think conventional wisdom, and maybe bad wisdom, is that you get a less intense version of it, that maybe it cuts it out, cuts it down 30 to 35%. What's the truth in terms of the actual effects of the illness on vaccinated people versus unvaccinated people?
Dr. Jeff Barkey / Primary Care Physician
There was a study recently, Beau, that looked at people that have received multiple doses of the flu shot over the years, and they had an increased risk of actually coming down with influenza. We are taught, and we believe falsely, that if we get our flu shot, we are going to be safe. Nothing is further from the truth. At the best, a flu shot will reduce the likelihood of you getting the flu by about 30%. What will reduce the likelihood of you getting the flu is hydrating yourself, staying up to date on your vitamin D, making sure you're taking extra vitamin C, getting outdoors, getting a little sunshine. Don't overdrink. This holiday season, make sure you get plenty of rest and get outside and stop crowding the parties indoors. That's what's going to prevent you from getting the flu. And prepare your immune system to fight off whatever might come your way. You won't hear advertised on tv. How to actually take care of yourself in a holistic way. You will hear advertised during every football game this time of year, some drug, some vaccination or some other medication that they are pushing you to get. Turn off the news, turn off the nonsense, and learn how to take care of yourself.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Once again, Dr. Barkey, before I let you go, I will use myself as an example here in terms of my wife and my son. You know, you get packed in a small area because it's unavoidable. You live together. If one of you contracts the flu, it's very viral, and I know it takes very little viral load for it to replicate in your system. What can a family do? When one family member contracts it, what do the other two do? Because it's inevitable. You're going to come in the same contact, be in the same room. What can you do? Wash your hands, nasal sprays? I mean, what is it sounds like you're going to get it either way, that you can't truly avoid it. But what do you do?
Dr. Jeff Barkey / Primary Care Physician
BO that's a great question. If a family member comes down with the flu, you've already been exposed. The best thing you can do at that point is get some sort of nasal rinse system, simple saline with a little Provodone, iodine, betadine, a small amount, snort it up, spit it out, rinse out your nose and throat because that's the mechanism by which the virus gets into your body. If you simply rinse out the back of your nose and throat, you will reduce the viral load, decrease the likelihood that you'll come down with the illness. And if you do come down with the illness, illness, it will likely be much more milder if you do those simple measures.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
I hope they REPLAY this last 45 seconds of people all over because I've always wanted to know the answer to that. And I think people know we might not be able to prevent it, but what happens when one of the family members gets it? How can we reduce its effects? And how can we prevent other family members from being sick, especially those that are infirmed or elderly? So, Dr. Barkey, thank you so much for joining us today and happy New Year to you, sir.
Dr. Jeff Barkey / Primary Care Physician
Well, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Thanks for having me on.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live

Welcome back to AVL. As we near the end of 2025, many Americans are looking forward to what the economy will look like this upcoming 2026. One of the biggest prospects has to do with the replacement of Jerome Powell as the Federal Reserve chairman, with Kevin Hassett slated to take on the mantle. As we all know, Powell has been reluctant to lower interest rates and just recently signaled that a cut of 25 percentage points for interest rates would be instated until next year, making the nickname Jerome too late Powell seem even more fitting. The market as a whole also has defied pessimistic outlooks, especially in quarter three, with sources noting that the drive towards this stable outlook is attributable to overall consumer spending for the holidays. Joining me to discuss this is Miami GOP committee woman Angie Wong. Angie, thank you so much for being with me today. Hey, Beau.
Angie Wong / Miami GOP Committee Woman
Happy holidays.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Happy Holidays. Merry Christmas. Happy new year. All three wrapped up into one. Well, speaking of holidays and looking into 26, Angie, as I mentioned in the, in the intro, you know, even if Jerome Powell is replaced in favor of Kevin Hassett or any other candidate for that matter, what are the chances that this replacement will merely follow Powell's strategy and become reluctant to lower interest rates even further?
Angie Wong / Miami GOP Committee Woman
Oh, I think he would take a complete U turn. Look, Jerome Powell has definitely been very, very conservative of upping the interest rates. He's drip, drip dripping those interest rates in. I know President Trump wants this thing to go fast. He understands the economy is going to be the key issue for the midterm elections come May, when Powell actually retires, it may be too late because you know as well as I do that the economy relies on these interest rates rates to being favorable of the consumer. And come May, you know, quarter three is going to already kick in. I don't know if that's going to be enough time for us to see the real effects come November 2026. So Kevin can't get in there fast enough. I know he is in favor of the president. And you know, President Trump chose him for a good reason.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Yeah, that's certainly true. And you know, we've got gas prices. They're remaining at a steady $2.75 on average. Do you see this figure sort of remaining static? Do you see it increasing? You see it going down? What do you think happens with gas?
Angie Wong / Miami GOP Committee Woman
Well, I think with gas, groceries, insurance, all that stuff is going to hopefully stay very stabilized unless we go into some sort of war, which then, you know, jumps up our prices. But I'm very happy to see this Christmas season with gas prices under $3. I mean, when was the last time we saw that And I think President Trump has his, his finger on that pulse to make sure that remains the same and hopefully definitely until 2026. But here's the thing. It's like, are you and I feeling our pockets pinch? Are we feeling the savings of the Trump economy? I think we're starting to remember everything that was purchased, consumable goods from in 2025 was purchased six to 12 months ago. Right. So we haven't even seen the effects of the Trump tariffs. We haven't seen the big beautiful bill that kicks in next week. We haven't seen any of those good things that the Trump administration has put through. So we're starting to see them. Hopefully by quarter one, quarter two, we'll start seeing even prices drop further. And that's going to really wreck the Democrats because as you mentioned in your earlier at the opening of the segment, the news media is definitely reporting a very naysay thing on Trump. And they need to do that because if Trump wins on the economy, Democrats have nothing to run on.
Mike Hahn / GOP Strategist
It's over.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Yeah, exactly. And I think a lot of them were shocked by those Q3 numbers, the GDP numbers. I think, oh, boy, these look good. What do we say now? We've got to actually report this because it is the number. But you're right, they're still naysaying because I want it to be negative. And I hope you're right. I hope that we see the dividends of some of these actions come 2026. And of course, we also have to talk about the Trump accounts. They're also slated to accept enrollment this upcoming year. Why should parents look into this prospect for the future of their children? And also this is just as important for me. What should parents invest each month to ensure the good maturation of these funds?
Angie Wong / Miami GOP Committee Woman
Well, look, I mean, this is an incredible thing to have. I wish I had it from when my kids were younger. I mean, a thousand bucks into an account to start an account and this account follows the child for his or her lifetime and it just increases, increases to the point where I believe come college years, you could start dipping into it. You may be able to dip into it before, I'm not sure, but yes. And now I think the benefit of all that, not only about starting the accounts, you can even ask employers to start, start putting it in just the same way they've been putting in to IRAs and other kind of worker type funds like that. So I think this is a great start. It's really how we take off and how we become creative with it.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Angie, before I Let you go. I was just out at Turning Point USA's Amfest and the topic of affordability comes up. I think it's certainly something that the midterms are going to focus on because as you see said, we're looking at these prices, we're looking at gas prices, and things are starting to seem a little bit more favorable. But what should Donald Trump and the Republicans focus on with regard to affordability coming into this new year? How can they position this to show that affordability is, is going to be a more of a reality than a possibility?
Angie Wong / Miami GOP Committee Woman
Yeah, well, Donald Trump knows better than anybody. Whoever wins the messaging on affordability will win the midterms in 2023. Donald Trump has already named himself the affordability president. He's brought on Scott Besant to be the affordability czar. He needs this so bad. And you know who he needs to really entice is the young voters who cannot buy into the American dream anymore. They're completely priced out of it. They're not going to take a 30 year mortgage and tie their lives to it or pay 10 to 20 years on a college degree. So they need to be able to buy into the American dream without carrying all that job debt. If President Trump could figure out a way to do that, we're going to grab the young voters.
Bo Davidson / Host of America's Voice Live
Yeah. And I got to be honest with you, with these Amfest folks that are out there, look, it's great to, you know, they had all the division that was happening between them, Ben Shapiro, but you know, at the end of the day, as my colleague Brian Glenn and I were saying, that doesn't, that's just a sideshow. Affordability is still, I mean, we have to be able to afford things, whether it's a car, a house. And I think you're right, that American dream seems just a little out of our reach right now. So, so I hope they tackle this issue and I hope Scott Besant and the others that you mentioned will, will take this on head on in 2026 and make things make America affordable again. Well, GOP committee woman Angie Wong, thank you so much for joining me today. And Merry Christmas, happy holidays. And of course, happy 2026 to you.
Angie Wong / Miami GOP Committee Woman
Merry Christmas, everyone.

Welcome back to avl. What makes America wonderful. We do it every day with the hope of putting a smile on your face. And today's story comes to us from my Kennedy Center TV special where a rock and roll legend expressed his gratitude for having the privilege to reside in the United States of America during the Kennedy center honors ceremony. Kisses bassist Gene Simmons expressed his gratitude for living in America and how those that disagree with that wouldn't be able to handle living in other countries. Let's take a look. Every, every day has been just amazing. And you know, we have the Hollywood Star Walk of Fame and this award and that award and we got, you know, it's appreciated, really. Got it. The first and biggest prize is living in America. People, you know, people who are born here have a problem with that. They think patriotism and love of America is cornball pay. What I'm going to do to you, buddy? I'm going to give you a free round trip ticket, maybe one way ticket to Iran, North Korea, anywhere in Africa, Southeast Asia, all these places. Let me know how fast you want to come back crying to America. Have to be honest, you know, patriotism for the USA is not a trait that we often see from notable figures, especially nowadays. So when it does happen, that's all the more reason to celebrate it. And today, Gene Simmons and his bold proclamation that expresses love for America reminds us of what makes America truly wonderful. And I agree with Gene. So our question of the day was, was this Christmas better under President Trump than last year under Joe Biden? And we do have some answers for you. Kay Willard says yes, but I don't attribute it exclusively to President Trump. My praise goes to my Jesus Christ because he has provided a great blessing for me. Here's another answer we have from Le Lou Tracy L. We knew Trump was going to be our president last year and was grateful. From Terry H. 46 she answers yes, yes and yes again. Loves President Trump, obviously. From Boatrider615 says of all the metrics surrounding the Christmas holiday, an increase of hope for the future has been restored. I think that's certainly true. We've got a good forecast for 2026. Another answer comes from Blaine 359 says, Hell yeah. And I'm a Canadian. Well, I would hope so coming from Canada where things are kind of bleak in the our Northern neighbor Castle Keep 55 says, Absolutely. We didn't have to see dancing trans crazies in the White House. What a great answer from Randy Williams. His answer is anything is better to me under Trump Trump than that Biden. Or should I say the oh, Biden administration, Of course referring to Obama and Biden from Claire. A one word answer, absolutely. And then another answer to our question of the day. Mike McLaughlin says this year brought a sense of calmness and security over last year and a bigger focus on Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. A merrier Christmas under President Trump for short. I think that's absolutely accurate, especially as we look at Nigeria and some of the things that are happening there and persecutions of Christians across the world. Well, thank you so much for joining us on America's Voice Live. I'm Bo Davidson filling in for the great Steve Gruber. Have a great day and a happy new year.

Podcast: Real America’s Voice (iHeartPodcasts)
This special post-Christmas edition, guest-hosted by Bo Davidson, delivers unfiltered news and analysis with an emphasis on American values, security, and economic foresight. The show covers Trump administration foreign and domestic moves—including recent airstrikes in Nigeria and a sweeping ambassador recall—plus discussions on the economy, flu season health debates, Supreme Court rulings on National Guard deployments, and public opinions on life under Trump compared to Biden.
“Despite the fact that China is a pacing threat, that Russia presents geopolitical challenges, violent extremist organizations still operate around the globe, and they threaten the interests not only of us, but our allies and partners.”
— Col. Markert (07:18)
“These ambassadors serve at the pleasure of the president. … No, I don't think it's unprecedented at all.”
— Mike Hahn (21:47)
“We don't have a flu season. We have a drink too much, eat like crap, stay indoors, go to big parties … and not enough sleep season.”
— Dr. Barkey (40:36)
“At the best, a flu shot will reduce the likelihood of you getting the flu by about 30%. What will reduce the likelihood of you getting the flu is hydrating yourself, staying up to date on your vitamin D, making sure you're taking extra vitamin C, getting outdoors, getting a little sunshine.”
— Dr. Barkey (43:54)
“They need to be able to buy into the American dream without carrying all that job debt. If President Trump could figure out a way to do that, we're going to grab the young voters.”
— Angie Wong (55:29)
“The first and biggest prize is living in America. People who are born here have a problem with that... I'm going to give you a free round trip ticket … to Iran, North Korea, anywhere in Africa, Southeast Asia ... Let me know how fast you want to come back crying to America.”
— Gene Simmons (as shared by Bo Davidson, 60:27)
On Persistent Terror Threats:
“Violent extremist organizations still operate around the globe, and they threaten the interests not only of us, but our allies and partners.”
— Col. Markert (07:18)
On Ambassador Recalls:
“I don't think it's unprecedented at all. I think the president has every right to appoint ambassadors that agree with his agenda.”
— Mike Hahn (21:47)
On Health and Vaccines:
“We don't have a flu season. We have a drink too much, eat like crap, stay indoors, go to big parties, expose ourselves, don't get any exercise and not enough sleep season.”
— Dr. Barkey (40:36)
On Economic Affordability:
“Whoever wins the messaging on affordability will win the midterms in 2023. Donald Trump has already named himself the affordability president.”
— Angie Wong (55:29)
On Patriotism:
“The first and biggest prize is living in America… Let me know how fast you want to come back crying to America.”
— Gene Simmons (as shared by Bo Davidson, 60:27)
Forthright, at times combative, and deeply patriotic—emphasizing American sovereignty, skepticism of mainstream narratives and institutions (from health agencies to global organizations), pushing an “America First” viewpoint. The hosts and guests deliver their commentary with a hyper-partisan, pro-Trump energy.
This episode serves as a snapshot of Real America’s Voice in late 2025: unwavering in their viewpoint, eager for confrontation with perceived threats (foreign and domestic), and committed to framing the Trump administration as the driver of American hope and security.
