Welcome to America's Voice Live. I'm Steve Gruber. It is Monday, the 2nd of February. It's Groundhog Day, year of our Lord 2026. Let's get into the day's top stories. As always, thank you for joining me here. Unreal. America's Voice. The partial government shutdown now in its third day as House Republicans prepare to act on a Senate funding compromise. Later today, the House Rules Committee said to meet at 4 o' clock Eastern, clearing the way for a possible full House vote later. More on that coming soon. Also, Turning Point USA has officially released the lineup of their all American halftime show. I'll bring on a member of the TPUSA team to give us more of the details. That's right, Kid Rock and others, there you see it and you'll see it right here in real America's Voice. And then later, President Trump's foreign agenda is rolling full throttle. Tensions with Iran are heating up even as diplomatic talks show signs of progress toward a nuclear deal. Not only that, but President Trump is also hinting at a possible deal with Cuba regarding oil. All that and more coming your way. But first, let's start with this, a warning to voters. We've been trying to warn voters since the very beginning, since the inception of this program that Democrats do not care about you. In fact, a whole herd of politicians don't care about you. But there are those that think you will fall for their lies forever. And why wouldn't they? I mean, it's been working for such a long time. They run on issues that sound warm and fuzzy and compassionate and they pretend to stick up for the little guy. But at the end of the day, they tax and tax with pretty much nothing to show for it. They crash good economies and create dysfunctional programs in the name of progress. But of course, this warning falls on deaf ears among actual Democrat voters. And they continue to vote in people like Abigail Spanberger, who ran on being a moderate in Virginia's gubernatorial race and since winning, has proven herself to be anything but a moderate. Democrats now hold control in both chambers of that state's legislature and in the governor's seat. And guess what their first order of business has been so far? More than 50, 50 new tax proposals that would affect every average Virginian. They're inventing new ways to milk every last cent out of every Virginia's economy and put it into government coffers. These proposals include taxes on services like walking your dog, having a gym membership, dry cleaning and digital goods. There's a gas tax increase, an 11% tax on firearms and ammunition sales, and specifically a $500 tax on all firearm suppressors. All on top of a proposal to push the state's income tax as high as 13.8% on some Virginia workers, which would make it the highest state tax for income in the nation, beating out even California. This Virginian Republican runs through even more far left measures being proposed by the Democrat trifecta. Listen to this.

The onslaught of far left bills being dropped by Democrats here in Virginia has garnered national attention. But it's worth just a quick review. So we got new taxes on Uber rides, Amazon orders. New higher tax brackets. New taxes on investments, raising the hotel tax. New taxes on home deliveries, gym membership, streaming services, barbershops, dry cleaners and more. Banning gas powered leaf blowers. Loosening election integrity laws. A slew of anti second amendment bills. A bill that would prohibit requiring verification of nonprofits that receive federal dollars. So it's like an anti anti fraud measure. Weakening penalties for even the worst crimes. Murder, rape, robbery, assaulting police officers. Creating a process for letting convicts out early with no limiting principles to the crime in question. Allowing state contracts to be given out based on the race of the contractor board. Gambling of all kinds, neighborhood slot machines, online sports betting. Ending qualified immunity for police. I guess this is the affordability agenda we were promised.

It's more like whiplash. It's exactly what I'm talking about when I say Democrats do not care about you. He's right to point out that Spanberger very dishonestly ran on an affordability campaign. And by the way, we have the receipts. Here's a few of them.

Only candidate on stage who's put forth a plan to actually lower costs for Virginians. Whether it's affordability, your rent going up. We need a governor who will stand up against the chaos. We will work relentlessly to make life more affordable for our Fellow Virginians.

Uh huh. But not one of those measures that I or that Republican listed helper constituents live in a more affordable Virginia. And it begs the question, why do they need all these new tax dollars Anyway? Because Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin left the state with an impressive $2.7 billion surplus. That's after granting $9 billion in tax relief and making record investments in education, law enforcement and health care. So again, why do they need all this money from new taxes? The number one reason cited by Virginia Democrats, Medicaid coverage. So once again, a failed dysfunctional Democrat created problem is costing the people an absurd amount of money. But there are a few other reasons that the state's politicians are not as forthcoming about. One of those salary increases for the legislators themselves. You got that right. These lawmakers don't work more than 60 days a year on average. I checked. And they want their salaries doubled. And they need tax dollars to make it work, even though there's already that $2.7 billion surplus right in front of them. Another reason to fund the government grants that give lawmakers even more money to buy a house in the area. You heard me right. Not loan, give, give them money. Democrats say that it's hard to find people who want to work in government because they can't afford housing in the area. But the last thing anyone should want is a politician who was bribed with housing grants to be in charge of policy for housing grants. All in all, it's a mess. And President Trump shares my sentiment when he expresses confusion over how Democrats like Spanberger even get elected by voters in the first place. Here he is, Virginia, 50 governors and.

Well, I think it's terrible. I think a lot of people will leave Virginia. I saw that look. Glenn was a friend of mine, Glenn Youngkin, and worked so hard on cutting taxes.

And this woman came in and in one swoop she raised everything up higher than it ever was. I don't understand it. I mean, people voted for Democrat, but she came in and she raised. And I'll work with her like I work with everyone else. But she came into Virginia, raised everything to a point like no taxes that nobody ever even heard of before. And I don't understand how do people get elected with this kind of philosophy. This is only in the very modern age. You know, I grew up and I've always heard politicians, we'll cut taxes, we'll cut. Everybody screaming, we're going to cut taxes. I cut taxes. I gave you the biggest tax cut in the history of our country and the great big beautiful bill.

And people will see that soon in their tax refunds. Of course, Democrats rely on fraud and good old fashioned cheating to win these elections. Something that's being proven with every passing day, it seems. And it's not just taxes that are going up in Virginia. They're also seeing record high energy bills. Just listen to this very concerned resident about her electric bill that she just got. Here it is.

I just got my energy bill for the month. Dominion Energy out of Virginia. My bill has tripled. Like I usually pay, about 200 bucks, you know, on a regular 300. On a high note, 621 bucks. That's more than my car payment.

How's that green energy thing working out for you? More than a car payment. Little known fact for you. The Democrat led Virginia State Corporation Commission approved Dominion Energy's rate increases late 2025. It started last month. What happened to the Democrats siding with the little guy over corporations? Disastrous energy policies are what happened. And Spanberger has committed more than once on air to banning oil and gas in the state. Altogether brilliant. Affirming her support for the Virginia Clean Economy act which mandates that the state's major utilities, Dominion included, generate 100% of its electricity from renewable sources. So buckle in Virginians, because your energy bills are only going up from here as long as you continue voting in these Democrats. This is what happens when energy policy is driven by ideology instead of common sense and science. Families are increasingly pressured toward all electric living, affordable options are taken off the table and people are buried under state mandates and so called green fees built into their energy bills. You heard what she said, there's more fees than energy. This is what you get from climate change alarmists, but this is what you get when your leaders focus on putting America's needs first. Gasoline is plunged, to think of this, over $4 a gallon depending on where you are. In California it's seven, eight dollars a gallon. I was in Iowa and they had $1.85 because I had it at $1.99 a gallon. And I was corrected by two farmers that said I just bought my gasoline for one hundred and eighty five. You know, when energy goes down, everything else goes down. And just as I promised, we've defeated the Biden inflation nightmare and achieved explosive new economic growth. The Atlanta Fed is predicting an astounding 5.4% GDP growth in the fourth quarter. And that's despite the fact that we had a Democrat shutdown we would have had that number would have been 7%, which is a number nobody's ever heard of. Just yesterday The S&P 500 hit 7,000 for the first time ever. There's never been any time at which it's done like that. And the other stocks also, I think was 52 times for the Dow had hit a record high. But the 7,000 was not a number.

And that's what it looks like to deliver wins for the American people in all in just one year. And it's why the media Democrats are so focused on demonizing ICE and DHS right now, because they needed to distract the American people from the promises made and promises kept that we're currently seeing from Washington, not from the governor of Virginia. Of course, there's plenty more to be done. We had a lot of damage inflicted on our economy by disastrous policies and we may very well never be able to undo all of that damage. But these are steps in the right direction. Even while, as I've shown, some states are continuing in the wrong direction in some cities, most notably New York City, after decades of mostly Democrat leadership, the Big Apple facing a $10 billion budget deficit or more, and communist wannabe Zoran Mamdani is rolling out the usual tax the rich, let's get them, let's punish him, let's run them right out of New York. Here he is.

We are speaking about a fiscal crisis at the scale greater than the Great Recession. And so there will not be one single thing that can answer that crisis. It will require us to pursue every single avenue. That means looking inward into savings and efficiencies. That also means raising taxes on the wealthiest New Yorkers and the most profitable corporations. And it means recalibrating the relationship with the state.

Uh huh, Recalibrating. Of course, any beginner's course in economic teaches that these kinds of policies drive out the very corporations and people who prop up the city's economy in the first place. A reality that Zoran is denying or is unaware of. Even the state's governor, Kathy Hochul, admits the truth. Here she is.

So Mayor Mandani has said that he doesn't think that wealthy people and corporations would actually leave if their taxes go up. Do you disagree with that? It's not a gamble I want to take because we're already down about $13 billion in revenues from people who did leave our state. And when asked, many of them do complain about the taxes in New York. Something I'm trying to do something about.

Mm. How many billions of dollars lost? Will they ever learn? The evidence suggests no. In the end, the Democrats playbook never changes. Fake compassion, endless taxes and policies that crush families while enriching themselves. Virginia and New York prove it. Surpluses, squandered bills soaring, all for their radical agenda. So I deliver one more warning to voters. Wake up, wake up. Trump's delivering real economic wins. Let's ditch the scams and keep America first, shall we? And that's the monologue coming up after the break. The partial government shutdown over funding has entered day three. Mike Johnson recently stated that he expects the shutdown to end by tomorrow at the latest. But is that really the case? Details straight ahead. It is deja vu all over again. The partial government shut down now in day three as House Republicans prepare to act on a Senate funding compromise later this afternoon. Supposed to happen about 45 minutes. The house Rules Committee is set to meet at 4 o' clock Eastern, clearing the way for a possible full House vote. We'll see what happens. In the meantime, nearly 14,000 air traffic controllers are reporting to work without pay as the Department of Transportation, among other agencies, gets caught in Washington's gridlock. Will the Democrats continue to hold the US Government and you hostage? Probably. Speaker Mike Johnson recently stated that he's optimistic that lawmakers can end the shutdown by tomorrow, nearly as the House could take final action. Joining me to discuss this is former congressman, executive director of the American Constitutional Rights Union, Lieutenant Colonel Allen West. Colonel, I feel like we've been here before.

Yeah. Just like too many times all over again. You know how interesting it is, Steve, that here we are originally the longest shutdown that we ever had because the Democrats wanted to give illegal immigrants health care coverage. And now we're going into another shutdown, a partial shutdown, because the Democrats are upset because a federal law enforcement agency is enforcing federal immigration law, Title 18, United States Code 1325. And on top of that, you getting murderers, rapists, child rapists, people that have committed assault, burly all these things off of the streets, but yet they don't want that. So in essence, what the Democrats are shutting down the government for is because during the Biden administration, they did not follow the law. They did something that was unconstitutional. This is absolute nonsense. And it's crazy. And it goes back to what you talked about in your opening monologue. People have to wake up to the scams that of the Democrat Party.

Well, what's remarkable, Colonel, it's not just you. Go back the whole idea Defund the police, I thought was one of the most ridiculous talking points ever put forth by any political party in the history of this country. Yet they went down that road. They pulled back a little bit. They're going down the same road. In fact, they want to get rid of the Department of Homeland Security altogether. I mean, you listen to some of these members of Congress. That is exactly what they want. They don't want voter id. They don't want people that are here illegally taken out of the country. Now, gee, why do you think that is?

Well, without a doubt, they want to have this contingent of illegal immigrants in this country, millions of which because, number one, they want to count them in the census. As a matter of fact, the Democrats file lawsuits so that illegal immigrants could be counted in the census. Why? Because they want more congressional representation. They want more representation leaning their way, all the way down to the local level. Then the other thing on top of that is they want them to have the ability to vote. And that's why Democrats don't want voter ID laws. This is a big scam. And when you think about it, why would you support. Why would you vote for a political party? Really? Their philosophy of governance is Marxist, progressive, socialist, communist, whatever you want to call it. But they want to undermine the sovereignty of the United States of America. They are in complete violation of our Constitution, Therefore, they don't care about this republic. And as Antifa once shouted during President Trump's first term, no borders, no walls, no USA at all. That's what they want.

Exactly right. Let's shift gears a little bit. Now. Somebody else who doesn't want USA at all would be the Islamic leaders of Iran. They're in the Persian Gulf now conducting military exercises and warning America that there'll be severe consequences if we go in and help out those that are rising up. I'd like to ask you about that. White House envoy Steve Witkoff expected to meet with Iranian officials Friday in Istanbul to discuss a nuclear deal. Where do you think we are in these discussions? I think that Donald Trump made it quite clear we can touch you no matter where you hide in Iran or Venezuela. If we want to come find you, we can do it destructively or we can just pluck one person out. Did they not get the memo?

No, they didn't get the memo. And they continued to play this game of cat and mouse with us, and we need to just end that game. Look, this whole thing about them threatening us reminds me of right before Desert Shield, Desert Storm, my first combat operation, we had Baghdad Bob And Saddam Hussein talking about the mothers of all battles and how Americans want to come home in body bags. So I completely discount that. We have to understand that the Iranian regime has been at war with the United States of America going all the way back to 1983 when by way of Hezbollah, who is one of their terrorist proxies, that two hundred and thirty four Marines, soldiers, sailors, lost their lives there at the Baruch's barracks bombing. And we have to also remember there are many American troops who are dead and also maimed because of the explosive force penetrators that Iran was shipping into Iraq and Afghanistan. So Iran has always been at war with us. And it's about time that we realize that this regime, this totalitarian theocratic political regime of the mullahs and the ayatollahs and has to come to an end. Not saying we go in and we invade the country, but we undermine their ability and their authority because they are the number one state sponsor of Islamic terrorism. I don't think we should negotiate with them. The only thing they understand is strength and might.

I agree with you. I want to go to one more topic here, and that is the Western hemisphere for a moment. In case you missed the election results. Costa Rica just elected a progressive right of center woman to become their next leader. Trump endorsed Trump, like so. It's the latest country to join this movement away from socialism and communism. And with that in mind, President Trump recently stated that he's hopeful to make a deal with Cuba regarding oil. Since the capture of Nicola Maduro that we just mentioned. This would be remarkable if we can make advances in Cuba. It would be something else that has been tried and failed for decades, in fact, my whole life. This would be another marquee achievement, wouldn't it?

Yeah, you're absolutely right. And what does it come down to? It comes down to understanding the leverage of energy security, how it affects your national security and also your economic security. What Donald Trump has done very wisely so and without really, you know, firing too many bullets or, you know, involving us in a major combat conflagration, is that he has isolated these leftist countries away from their mothership, being it Russia, being it China and being in Iran. And that's what we see happening in our hemisphere. And again, you cannot be the leader of the free world if you're not a leader in your own hemisphere. So I would congratulate President Trump with this shrewd maneuver once again. And I think it's sending a message to the President of Mexico. It's also Sending a message to the Ortega boys down there in Nicaragua.

Yeah. How wonderful would it be to have a free Cuba? I mean, Havana was a world class city in 1959. American tourists went there. It was a place that people went and celebrated, enjoyed themselves. And of course, communism came along and the Castro team destroyed all of that. What a wonderful thing it would be for the Western hemisphere for Cuba to be a free nation. Last word to you.

No, you're absolutely right. And again, let's go back to the Kennedy administration and the failed Bay of Pigs when we tried to do it by way of military invasion. This is how you leverage your economic security. This is how you leverage your energy security. This is how you leverage the strength and the power, the diplomatic, informational and economic means of a nation to extend its power to once again isolate and get these bad actors out of our hemisphere. Russia, China and Iran. And I think that that has been one of the great foreign policy accomplishments of this administration.

So I know that there are people who think like, oh, you know, do this and you know, that I'm gonna be locked up or whatever. I ain't worried about that. You heard the truth and the truth shall make you free. I ain't even worried about that. Like, not. Don't even think about it. So whatever, you know, what ever happens, I am. I always think that something good is always going to happen and something usually good always happens. If you have that mindset. Thank you very much.

I mean, he could laugh about going to jail all he wants. You violated the First Amendment rights of people going to church. People going to church. And it's gotten worse. This was happening in California over the weekend. People surrounding churches and mocking Christians and so forth. Stop it. Trust me. Stop it. Republicans fighting back through legislation with a SAVE act which will protect elections from fraud. Here's Senate Majority Leader John Thune explaining the critical updates to the bill.

Well, I'm for that. I've co sponsored the SAVE act in the past. I think my understanding is that, that they are still modifying the bill. It includes right now a requirement that you be a citizen to register to vote, but it doesn't include a requirement that to vote, you be a resident. So in other words, if you're going to have what we call voter ID or photo id, when somebody goes into the ballot box to vote, that's not currently covered in the bill. So that's being fixed and addressed. And I think the new bill that comes out hopefully will deal with that. But I mean, at some point we'll have that vote. I'm for it. I think most of our colleagues in the Senate are, and I don't, you know, it hasn't had consideration in the relevant committee yet, but I know there's a high level of interest among our members in getting a vote in Save Act.

Mr. Thune, with all due respect, stop it. Unless you get rid of the filibuster. None of that. That's just blather, all right? And we all know it. Unless you get rid of the filibuster, none of those things are going to happen. And you're not going to protect American elections unless you grow a spine and do the right thing. So we'll be here. How important? I mean, you see this nonsense from these major sports leagues. I just saw a kid that plays basketball for Michigan State saying, I'm not wearing an LGBTQ armband. He goes, I'm not. That's not why I'm here. I'm here to play basketball for Michigan State. And that's just an example of people pushing back. But these pro sports leagues seem to have immersed themselves into politics. Look, Americans would like to leave politics behind on occasion. We talk about it a lot here, but you know, it's nice just to watch a football game or a basketball game or a baseball game without being inundated with messages of this or that or anything else. How important is this halftime show to kind of release America from that, from that bondage of politics?

Oh my gosh. You couldn't have said it better. This is just emphasizing faith, family and freedom. If you want faith, family and freedom, watch the show. If you want to see a woke bunny perform, maybe this isn't for you, but the majority of Americans are sick of politics. Going throughout sports, talking about ice, talking about blm. We're sick of it. Well, somebody has to get the folks attention in the front office and I think Turning Point USA is doing that. Bo, you have to get their attention. And how do you do that? You impact their money. And if you take eyeballs away from their halftime show, if you take eyeballs away from their commercials, if you take eyeballs away from those high $3, 4, $5 million commercials, look, they only pay based on how many people are watching. You know, so if you peel off a few million viewers that hits the NFL on the bottom line, that gets their attention. So maybe we don't have to do this again next year. I mean, that's the real message here. Look, we don't want any part of this woke nonsense anymore. And if we have to show it on the bottom line, we're willing to do that. We're willing to walk away from unfl. I mean, I talk to people every day, Bo. They don't watch pro sports anymore. They're just sick of it. And so the real effective tool is hit them where it hurts most in the money. Right?

No, I completely agree. And I think there's going to be a lot of people that aren't even going to watch the super bowl, but they're going to tune into the halftime show. All right. Now, coming up after the break, I'll discuss President Trump's effort internationally as he prepares for a potential nuclear deal with Iran, as well as a possible deal with Cuba regarding oil after the capture of Nicolas Maduro out of Venezuela. I'll break it all down next. So stay with us here on Real America's voice. Well, as you know, attention with Iran have ramped up recently, even as diplomatic talk show signs of progress. Over the weekend, Tehran warned that any US Military action would spark a regional conflict, all while continuing its brutal crackdown on protesters at home, thousands dead. Yet senior Iranian officials are signaling a willingness to negotiate with America with renewed nuclear talks potentially taking place in Istanbul, Turkey. Regional players like Saudi Arabia and Qatar are reportedly stepping in to help mediate the conversations. Meanwhile, President Trump says he's hopeful a deal can be reached to avoid any conflict. US Envoy Steve Witkoff will head to Israel for key meetings with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and top Israeli military leaders as well, before sitting down with Iranian officials in Istanbul. That'll be later this week. Joining to discuss this is national security analyst and Vice President of the Lexington Institute, Rebecca Grant. So, Rebecca, they're in the Persian Gulf, they being the Iranians doing military exercises and threatening the United States. Have they missed the the memo? I mean, do they not understand after we bombed the nuclear facilities how lethal we are? Had they not paid attention to the extraction of Nicholas Maduro without America losing a single life? I mean, you can go ahead and threaten us, I don't think it means much. I'd like to see a diplomatic end to all of this, but I'd also like to see the nation of Iran be free. Are we closer to any of that today?

Well, we might be closer to yet another round of talks. And as the Ayatollah and the IRGC look around, what they see is a ring of American forces from the Eastern Mediterranean all the way over to the North Arabian Gulf. They're there to protect the 40,000 US service members there. But they also give Trump a lot of strike options. Now, here's the problem. Iran has not let the nuclear inspectors back in to check up on the highly enriched uranium. They didn't do it after midnight Hammer. They're still hemming and hawing. So that's one big part of this negotiation push is to get back to an accounting of Iran's nuclear fuel. The other piece, of course, where we've all got our fingers crossed is that this pressure will somehow help lead to the weakening of that regime. That's where the big question mark is. So awful to see what they've done to their own people. And you just want to hope that we are somewhere near the end with them.

Maybe a little speculation here, Rebecca, but let me ask you your thoughts. Are they not letting the inspectors in because they have nuclear fuel or because they got hammered so badly they don't have much left and they don't want to admit it to the world?

Oh no, they're highly enriched uranium is still there. That was just one step away, the processing to make it into a bomb. That's what got blown up. But they're not letting inspectors in because they're a crazy regime that doesn't know how to deal with the world. And they keep thinking they're going to get some kind of deal. And they live in this fantasy of Islamist revolution, theocracy. As we all know. Now, that's really a dangerous game because what's at risk is we know the president has a pre brief set of targets. It's probably Iranian ballistic missile sites, maybe some leadership targets. President Trump says he would really rather see negotiations take place. But there's no question these strikes are ready to go. So the Iranian regime is going to have to make some decisions and we'll see if they really show up for these talks in Istanbul or not.

Yeah, you talk about the ring of American firepower. It really is a ring of fire around Iran. Play games and you will find out. This president has shown resolve when it comes to dealing with Iran, with Venezuela, and he will deal with others. He doesn't want any long term wars. He does not want boots on the ground. But he will use overwhelming force when needed, won't he?

Yes, he will. And believe me, this is not about boots on the ground in Iran in any way. If there's action to be taken, it's going to be air and naval. And of course, we have a lot of air and missile defense there. Don't forget the space force watching over all of this as well. But the main thing here is pressure to get the Iranians to do the two things Trump wants. Talk about nuclear and stop killing the protesters.

All right, let's shift gears a little bit. Another deal that has come to the surface kind of surprised me a little bit. Caught some other folks off guard. A deal with Cuba regarding the Venezuelan oil after the capture of Nicolas Maduro. Look, Cuba is teetering right now without oil and it's pretty much been cut off. There's not much left there. The economy was not much to begin with. You can't take that oil out and things really get dark in Cuba. Havana is in bad shape. What do you make of this conversation of a deal about oil with Cuba?

Oh, I think the administration and of course Secretary of State Rubio, who's doing a great job, by the way, has been cooking up a deal here in the back channel for quite some time now. President Trump says he believes Cuba is increasing incredibly weak economically for the reasons that you've cited. You know, there's no more Venezuelan oil going there. He's putting the squeeze on Mexico's oil that goes to Cuba. It's a tiny amount globally. In the big context, it's only, you know, 20 to 35,000 barrels per day. But he can squeeze that. And, you know, we want to see a change, a new day in Cuba, like Venezuela has the chance. Here's this fantastic island, 90 miles from the biggest, best country in the world, the usa. And they are a backwards economy. Trump thinks that they're going to crumble from within and he's trying to put enough pressure on the outside and then maybe perhaps give them a pathway to have that happen.

You mentioned Marco Rubio, who has proven himself to be very good as Secretary of State. In my estimation, very good, very strong, very clear. Love him when he's on Sunday morning television filleting the people trying to give him sideways questions. Enjoy that greatly. But Marco Rubio is also of Cuban descent. Is this personal for him?

Oh, absolutely. And I think he'd be the first to say so. And remember, he's not only secretary of state, but he is in effect the national security adviser as well. So he holds two. And I think he's got a couple other jobs, but two incredibly powerful positions. He is the number one power player. And this situation in Cuba, like so many others around the world, is one that needs to be resolved. This should have been resolved ages ago. And we've seen reports of a Russian transport plane going into Cuba. Russia still uses that naval base there. They had some of their top line ships there last year, a submarine and another surface ship as well. So it remains a danger to the U.S. that's why the White House has come out now and put the formal declaration that there is a danger emanating from Cuba. That's an international economic policy move that's going to allow Trump to put all the tariffs he wants on Cuba and then on anybody else who is trying to get around that and supply oil to them. So here comes the squeeze. And you can bet Rubio's in the driver's seat.

You know, I mentioned this earlier. A lot of people don't pay attention to such things. But Costa Rica held elections yesterday. They elected a woman who is right of center, a protege, some would say, of Donald Trump. So once again, another country in the Western hemisphere goes towards the right, eliminating the socialism and the communism. You can put them in with Argentina, Honduras, Chile, the list getting longer of people rejecting socialism and communism. If Donald Trump can deliver freedom to Venezuela, if he can deliver freedom to Cuba, his accomplishments would be pretty much unparalleled. Last word to you.

Well, it was so good I thought we should just go ahead and share with you. In the midst of that fierce winter storm in Cincinnati a few days ago, an urgent medical situation brought snow covered roads to a standstill. Baby Bryson, critically ill and needing specialized care, had to be moved more than 10 miles from Mercy Anderson Hospital in Cincinnati to the Children's Hospital there. With snow piling up and visibility dropping, time became the biggest threat. Paramedics knew the ambulance might not make it alone, so they called for help and snowplow driver Joe Estes answered that call. Starting his shift like any other, Estes was redirected into something extraordinary, clearing a safe path through blizzard conditions for the ambulance to follow. Pretty cool. For nearly 30 minutes, his snowplow led the way over treacherous roads, pushing through the storm so Bryson could receive the life saving care he needed at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Medical staff riding with the infant monitor him closely, grateful for every cleared mile. In the face of nature's fury, teamwork between paramedics and a humble snowplow driver ensured help arrived when it mattered the most, giving a fighting chance to a family in crisis.
