How do you think learning an instrument
A
helps kids with confidence? Learning an instrument allows them to discover a little bit further of who they are and be comfortable with it and then share a little bit about that with others. And if it's done in an environment that is celebrating and championing them, then that confidence can only go up. The full episode is out now presented by the Hyundai Ioniq 9. B
Welcome to America's Voice LIVE. I'm Steve Gruber. It is Monday, the 16th of March, the year of our Lord 2026. Let's get to the day's top stories. As always, thank you for joining us here in Real America's Voice. We truly appreciate it. First, the Save America act will go to a vote in the Senate later this week, we're told. But despite its popularity with the American public, many are saying it's going to fail. Why? What can we do about it? We'll talk about that coming up. Also, the state of Hormuz is playing a major role in the conflict with Iran. We'll examine why and how we can keep it open. And then later, a surprising company behind Making America Wonderful. You'll want to stick around to the end of the show to see who it is and why it is, but here's where we start today. Every so often when tragedy strikes nearby, I'm reminded that one of the greatest threats to Western civilization is the rising predominance of radical Islam and the fact that many of my contemporaries refuse to acknowledge what this religion and its fanatics actually stand for. The left has a notoriously bad habit of embracing anything, anything that conservatives issue a warning about. Even if what they're embracing is going against every one of their beliefs, they don't care. For example, it was radical leftists who helped the Ayatollah gain power in Iran in the first place during the Iranian Revolution, simply because it overthrew a leader who had good relations with the United States. These Marxist socialist young people who claim to believe in women's rights and gay rights and civil rights for the, quote, marginalized communities. Back to Islamic extremists just to say they stuck it to the US and then the ayatollah killed them all and took all those rights away from the Iranian people on the basis of his religion. Over on Capitol Hill, Senator Tommy Tuberville has been calling attention to this hypocrisy that we're still seeing today. Here he is in America, women are allowed to dress, go to school, work and marry whoever they like. Iran used to be like this, too, before they were taken over by Radical Islamists in 1979. This is them post 1979. Sadly, under the sick leadership of these terrorists, women are treated like dogs. Did you hear that? Women are treated like dogs. They are forced to cover every part of their body, of their skin, except their eyes. They aren't allowed to leave home unless they're with a male escort. They aren't allowed to get an education or work a job. And they aren't forced. And they are forced sometimes to marry young as 6 years old. Pedophilia and inbreeding are rampant and women are lucky if they are allowed to drive. Hell, we have a US Congresswoman from one of these third world Muslim countries who is married to her brother. Where are all my Democrat colleagues who claim to be feminist? Now the Senator has to draw attention to this because many of his colleagues and a portion of the American public that opposes him as believing the lie that Islam is a better alternative than the ideals of the West. That Islamophobia, which is really just any critique of this religion and its adherence, is more dangerous than the actual crimes being carried out by Islamic extremists here and around the world. And now tragedy has struck again, this time near me over in West Bloomfield, Michigan, where a Lebanese born man rammed his vehicle into a Jewish synagogue with the intention of harming a lot more people than he actually did. There were more than 140 people, including 100 kids inside that building going to school at the time of the attack. The car was loaded with explosives that failed to go off before security agents were able to neutralize the threat. The man, Ayman Mohamed Ghazali, has not been identified as a Muslim, but it doesn't take a genius to add it all together. He was born in Lebanon. 70% of the population is Muslim. We know his family were practicing Muslims. And he hailed from Dearborn Heights, a city in Michigan that boasts the largest Muslim population in the country. And with a middle name like Muhammad. Come on. Not hard to connect the dots. And we know his brother was a Hezbollah commander that was killed in Israeli airstrikes just a few weeks ago. That same day, another man named Muhammad Baylor Jalal opened fire at Old Dominion University where he was a student, killing an ROTC instructor and injuring two more. After being inspired by isis, he would have injured or killed many more if not taken down by another ROTC cadet in the room who fortunately was armed with a knife. But here's what really should concern you. Muhammad Jalal served in the Virginia National Guard. He served in the Virginia National Guard. He was embedded in in our defensive forces. He'd already been convicted of attempting different domestic terrorist plots on US soil before he had been sentenced to 11 years in jail. But he was let out early by, you guessed it, the Biden administration. Of course. And this is what I mean when I say the left is not taking this threat seriously enough. Conservative statistics shows that the US Muslim Population is growing much faster than the rest of the country, more than doubling in just the last 20 years. And that growth is going to continue even faster. There's been a 31% increase in mosques being established in just the last 10 years too. The percentage of immigrants who identify as Muslim has also doubled over the last 20 years. And now the mayor of New York is openly calling on Americans to look to Islam, his faith of choice, for guidance on immigration law. You have to hear it.
C
We need not accept suffering as unchangeable. We need not treat hatred as the natural state. We have the power to set ourselves free.
B
And I consider my own faith Islam,
C
a religion built upon a narrative of migration. The story of the Hijra reminds us
B
that Prophet Muhammad
C
was a stranger too, who fled Mecca and was welcomed in Medina. Surah an Nahal 1642 tells us, as for those who immigrated in the cause of Allah after being persecuted, we will surely bless them with a good home in this world. Or as the Prophet Muhammad said, Islam began as something strange and will go
A
back to being strange. So glad tidings to the strangers.
C
If faith, If faith offers us the moral compass to stand alongside the stranger, government can provide the resources.
B
How warm and fuzzy. You can provide the resources. How warm and fuzzy. Like I said, and deceptive. Because that's not what Islam is focused on. It's focused on conversion, on making the entire world bend the knee or die. That's what Arab Islamic conquerors have been telling its conquest since the first century. For example, the apostle Mark evangelized Egypt shortly after the death of Jesus Christ. It was one of the first places that Christianity spread like wildfire. But six centuries later, Islam demolished every Christian church it could find. The year was 7 11. During the Arab conquest of Egypt, the conquerors told Christians they had three choices. Convert, be taxed to death, or actually be put to death. You can imagine what happened to the Christian population. Here's the take of an Egyptian Coptic Christian on Islam.
C
We are one of the few Christians
A
that are left from the ancient world
C
to give America a warning. Islam took over Egypt by force, by sword, by blood. They killed the men, they raped the women, they raped the nun, the nuns, they enslaved the children, and they eradicated Christianity and they burned the churches from 0% Muslim to 90% Muslim. We were literally genocided.
B
Islam is a sex cult.
C
It's a bloodthirsty cult and it's a death culture.
A
It's all of the things.
C
It's a religion of sex, perversion, blood and violence.
B
That's the voice of someone who won't ever forget his history, who remembers the price paid by his ancestors. And it's something the rest of the world is forgetting. Sadly, Europe has allowed Islam to flood its borders and change the culture of entire nations in just the last 20 years. In the UK, for example, Jews are 10 times, 10 times more likely to be victims of hate crimes than Muslims. In the past 25 years, 94% of all terror murders in the UK have been committed by Islamist terrorists, who also make up 75% of counterterrorism caseloads. But when Conservative Parliament member Katie Lamb points that out, she's later shouted down by the opposition, who makes an outrageous claim. Listen to this. I am concerned that other members of this government have failed to approach this
D
issue with the necessary caution or the necessary candor. We must be honest about the fact
A
that while violence against elected politicians can
D
come from a wide variety of groups,
A
the single biggest extremist threat to our
B
country remains the threat of extremist Islamist violence. I hope the shadow minister will get
C
to her feet and correct the record, because there's a far greater threat from the far right than there is from Islam.
B
And, you know, in this holy month of Ramadan, I'm sure Muslims all over
A
the country will be praying for her
C
soul, whether she deserves it or not.
B
Good Lord. That right there is Don Butler. And the problem is that the left and the next generation just take her words at face value when she says them, despite the fact they're wholly untrue. And my concern is that I'm seeing the same thing happen here. San Diego, California, claims to be a progressive city. It's as liberal as it gets, but it's tolerance. And it tolerates the teachings of an Islamic imam who has been banned from the uk, banned in Canada, for his comments about how it's permitted under Islamic law to have sex with females taken as captives during war. The problem with the UK and Canada is that they're shooting the messenger and won't engage with the fact that he's only representing what the religion actually is. And here's what the imam is teaching in San Diego, just so you know. Listen, he wants to ban Muslims. We will tell him. This isn't your country to ban. This is the land of Allah, as every land is the land of Allah. And there are Muslims here that are here, that are going to be here. And.
C
And if you don't like it, I would suggest he go somewhere else, but
B
I don't know where he's going to go. If he goes back to Europe. A lot of Muslims in Europe. I've been there recently. You go to Africa, you go to South America, you go to China, you go to Malaysia, you go to Japan, you go to the Antarctic. There's Muslims. So I will make a suggestion. If he wants to go somewhere where there is no Muslims, I suggest he goes to hell. And no that our prophet has given us the glad tidings that this religion of Islam will enter every household. Comforting, isn't it? This is what every Muslim who actually takes their faith seriously believes. And we need to believe them when they tell us that. The left needs to believe them when they say that. And how do you think that Muhammad envisioned Islam spreading to every household? Think about it. Every tragedy reaffirms Islam's fanatics as the greatest threat to Western civilization. Our Muslim population has more than doubled in 20 years, I said Mosques are exploding and Islamic extremists fuel terror plots. The left is blind and they have a blind embrace to the hypocrisy. We must wake up, wake up and defend our values before it's simply too late. And that's the monologue coming up after the break. The Save America act coming up for a vote in the Senate later this week with most expecting it will fail. But why is the Senate letting it go down when the vast majority of Americans are for voter ID and citizenship in elections? That discussion with Congresswoman Beth Van Dyne of Texas next. But before we go to break, I have some great news about our new song, God, Grit and Guns. It's already rapidly climbing the charts, especially thanks to Truth Social for being such a great promotional partner. And if it reaches the number one spot on Billboard, listen to this. We will randomly select one member of the Rav family who downloaded the song and give them the official number one Billboard plaque. For the record, that means one of you will literally own the plaque from a number one patriotic anthem. Take a look at the song. We'll be right back after the break.

Welcome back. Here's the question. Is it time for immigration reform after last week's terror attacks here in the United States? Sure seems so. Especially after one of those attackers had pled guilty to aiding ISIS to attack Americans and the other had a brother who was a Hezbollah commander. Let that sink in. Why were these people even here? Good question. Right? And piggybacking off of that, the Save America act could help fix a lot of these issues by making sure that, you know, only American citizens vote in our elections. Leader John Thune bringing it up for a vote later this week. But it is likely to fail unless something changes. But why? Join me now to talk about all of this, Texas Congresswoman Beth Van Dyne. Congresswoman, thank you for being here.
D
Great to see you. Great to see you. Thank you for having me on.
B
First thing I want to ask you, though, is this ongoing refusal by the Democrats to fund dhs. Here we are with these terrorist attacks. We see them at Old Dominion University. We see them at the synagogue in Michigan. We can go back to the guys throwing bombs outside of Gracie Mansion in New York. We can go back to Austin, Texas, your state, where people get gunned down by a guy wearing a Property of a Law shirt. And DHS remains unfunded today because the Democrats want to play apparently some political power game. Your thoughts?
D
No, I could not agree with you many more. It's ridiculous. We're seeing this across the country and you've got people who are being murdered right now, and there's no doubt in my mind that you've got these sleeper cells. We had. We had nearly 20 million illegals come in over the Biden administration who came into our country. We don't know where they are. We don't know what kind of harm they want to do to us. But you're certainly seeing folks who are waking up and, you know, committing, committing crimes. We need to have our Homeland Security funded. This is not a game. You know, we have already proven that without, you know, having having those folks in place, lives are a danger. And you've got Democrats who are playing, who are just playing this. I think they would really rather have power. They would really rather have those illegal immigran stay in their districts so that they can keep power. They can keep their districts because they're not losing population. They don't care. The fact that you've got in California, you know, folks that have been let go instead of working with ICE, you've had what, nearly 5,000 people. In New York, it's 7,000. Because they won't work with immigrations and Customs Enforcement. And instead of coming to the table and recognizing the fact that, look, this is a stupid argument to have, this is a stupid fight to fight. We're going to come back and we're going to protect the American people. They're not, they're playing politics and they would rather have these rapists, murderers, he, drug cartel members out and about than actually protect their citizens.
B
I don't know which was more shocking to me when I learned that the Old Dominion attacker had been previously tied to ISIS and convicted up to 11 years in prison. Of course he was let out early by the Biden administration or the fact that the guy in Michigan, his brother, a commander for Hezbollah, I don't know which is worse. But why are these people here, A Hezbollah commander's brother who went after a synagogue with 140 people in the building, including 100 kids. It's, it's, it's unconscionable to me.
D
We need to have more vetting. Obviously these folks need to be vetted before they're allowed to be here. And then we have to work on additional bills that will get them out of our country. If they are found to be guilty, they need to do as much time rot in our American prisons as long as they can and then deport them. I don't care if they became naturalized citizens. If you are here to do damage, if you were here to kill people and you know, that guy went in to try to kill children, you know, who had family members that are supported Hezbollah leaders, you know, this is the type of people that we have in our country, they don't need to be here. And once they've done their time, deport them. Work immediately on getting them denaturalized. They don't need to be citizens. It is an honor. It is not a right. It is a privilege. And that one is obviously that we have been giving away way too generously.
B
I agree with that. And let's talk about citizenship for a moment because I think, in fact, this is not a controversial issue. Not with Democrats, not with Republicans or independents, not whether you're black or white or Hispanic. The Save America act is a very popular piece of legislation. And here we go again, the Democrats refusing to say, look, only American citizens should vote. We shouldn't have mass mail in ballots. You should show an ID when you cast your ballot. These are simple things that the vast majority of Americans agree with. And yet the people on Capitol Hill that are Democrats fight it every step of the way. What's the game?
D
Yeah, well, I think it's that they fall into two camps. One, they don't mind if elections are, you know, if people, they have to get cheated to win. And two, they just can't stand there and oppose anything that Trump brings forward. And I think what you've seen across the country, and especially in these Democrat led states is you have seen folks who are coming into our country illegally, they are getting them Social Security numbers, they are getting them IDs, and then they're expecting that they're going to vote and vote Democrat in the next election. But we have got to stop that because people, if this is, this is an 80, 20 issue, most Americans don't want folks who are here illegally voting. And we already have it on the books. This is the argument that I hear from Democrats all the time. Look, you've got, we already have a law that prevents people from being here illegally, only lets citizens vote. We already have that law. All we're saying is, yeah, we have that law, but instead of just being on the truth on the honor system, you got to verify it. You have to verify when you buy a plane ticket, you have to verify who you are when you buy a beer. Why is it that shocking that when you go to vote, you just have to verify who you are? And I'll tell you the arguments that I've been hearing against this. You know, oh, people who are black, people who are women and married won't be able to get an id. I find it both sexist and racist to think that these folks don't know how to get IDs. They get IDs for every other thing in their life, they can certainly get it to vote. And again, this is an 8020 issue.
B
It is an 8020 issue. The same with mass mail in ballots, which I have always thought were the root of the problem in elections that you don't trust. I mean, if you don't have to show your ID at the polling place and you get these ballots, these mail in ballots mailed en masse to, you know, empty parking lots to abandon buildings, that is a huge problem. It has to stop. Last word to you.
D
No, absolutely. I think you've, you've seen this in other countries around the world. They don't allow mail in ballots. And we have seen such a problem that has been there's movies that are written about, there's investigations that have uncovered how easy it is to be able to manipulate those types of mail in ballots. So yeah, I think we need to get back to having regular elections, counting the ballots the same night, not waiting weeks, sometimes months. This is not rocket science. We've been doing this for centuries. We can definitely continue to do it. And we need to do it in order to let people understand that their vote counts and their vote is going to be by a citizen that is legally able to vote. We need to make people realize that we take that oath seriously.
B
I agree with you completely. Congresswoman F. Van Dyne, thank you for being here today.
D
Great to see you. Thank you.
B
Greatly appreciate it. All right, coming up after the break, Democrats try and fail to voice opposition to funding dhs. Some of their responses are downright ridiculous and hilarious. We'll get to those coming up next on america's Voice live.

And we'd love to expand our programming to offer more industry related skills like audio, lighting, production, recording so that kids can be on a track to see where what they may create with an instrument can lead, but also to welcome those that may not want to be on stage but lack the opportunity at school to have an entry point into music. C
We've planned for the plot twists so support is always available because a great
B
trip starts with peace of mind. Welcome back everyone. A bit more on the Save America act for you now. A recent Pews Research poll says regardless of race, regardless, Americans overwhelmingly believe voter ID is not controversial and regardless of party or race, overwhelmingly believe a photo ID is needed to vote. It's not controversial. Even CNN has to tell the truth these days about the numbers.
A
Listen, take a look here. Favorite photo ID to vote 85% of
C
white people favor it.
A
82% of Latino 76% of black Americans favor it.
B
So the bottom line is voter ID
A
is not controversial in this country.
B
A photo ID to vote is not
A
controversial in this country. It is not controversial by party and it is not controversial by race. The vast majority of Americans agree with Nicki Minaj that in fact you should have a photo ID to be able to vote.
B
Really, the only people that oppose the Save America act are the Democrats on Capitol Hill. Pretty clearly. Look, this is not controversial. Supported by every race, every political party, every religion. Pretty much everyone. Simple stuff. Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman told Fox News he is the only Democrat who has refused to vote to shut down the government and Homeland Security. With ICE already funded, he is holding the line and voting country over party and putting unions and security over what the Democrat base demands. Here's the senator now, too.
A
Why would you want to punish all
B
of these workers that under dhs, only thing that it could do is just make us less safe. And that also makes people have to
A
go without getting paid.
B
I'm at the airport virtually every week of the year and I ask all those TSA agents and I said, hey, do you like not to get paid for your work? I haven't met one saying, no, it's no problem. It's not a big deal, you know, so it's, it's just, it's. I truly don't understand that other than it's, it's just toxic for a Democrat to agree with something that maybe that the, the Republican side might agree at that. And there you have it. The senator, the one guy who gets it right. The one guy who gets it right, the guy with the tbi. Remarkable, isn't it? Look, I was no supporter of John Fetterman when he ran for Senate, but I like him now. Don't always agree with him, but he'll tell you where he stands and he'll tell you why. And look, in America today, I appreciate that he does not equivocate. He just says, here's where I am on it and here's why. We need more of that. Whether you agree with somebody or not, we need more of that. Going from John Fetterman now, who's been speaking a surprising amount of sense lately, to Senator Cory Booker, who has never spoken much sense at all, but still wants to be president. Senator Booker struggled to explain why the Department of Homeland Security is not being funded, blaming Republicans, of course. During an interview with Chicken Noodle News host Jake Tapper, Booker claims Democrats have tried to fund tsa, CISA and the Coast Guard, but says Republicans have just refused, Quote, time and time again. You have to see it to believe the audacity. Democrats have tried multiple times to try
A
to get tsa, cisa, the Coast Guard funded.
B
Republicans have refused time and time again to fund. Yeah, they want the whole agency. Fund.
A
They want the whole agency.
B
ICE is still out there doing reckless things in communities. ICE is still arresting and detaining American citizens.
A

But why are we seeing such volatility if we produce more than enough oil here at home? We'll get to that next. But before we go to break, I have some great news about our new song, God, Grit and Guns. It's already climbing the charts, especially thanks to Truth Social for being such a great promotional partner. Welcome back to America's Voice, live on a Monday. The conflict with Iran hasn't hit the US Economy too hard yet. However, the price of the pump has been jumping. It's been pretty volatile. Seems a bit strange. We keep being told that we produce all the energy we need here in America. So why are the prices changing? At least one Congressman, Tim Burchett, believes there's some price gouging going on. I bet you think the same, but really, it seems to all be about the state of Hormuz. So will we be seeing some relief at the pump. And how can President Trump manage to do that? Join me now to discuss and what the conflict in Iran could do to wider US Economy if it continues. Chapwood Investments managing partner Ed Butowski. Ed, nice to see you here today.
C
Thanks for having me, Steve.
B
All right, so I hear one person say, we've got all the energy we need here in America. And then I hear people say, well, actually we produce about 13 million barrels a day and need about 20 million barrels a day. Where is the truth in all of this, Ed?
C
Well, the truth is that we don't produce every single oil, you know, every, every single barrel that is needed. We do have to import some. But the important thing to note is that how do prices change? And they change based on trading futures contracts. And you have a lot of people out there who are looking to make oil prices go higher, or then you have people who are looking for them to go lower. And right now the people who want them to go higher are winning. But you have to remember that futures contracts are very, very volatile, very risky for anybody to get into. And they're being managed by huge organizations that are hedging their oil production and the price of oil. So the price of oil is being dictated by huge endowments and foundations and hedge funds around the globe. It's happening in Tokyo, it's happening in New York, and it's happening all over the world. So there's a lot of manipulation of where oil prices are thought to be going in the future.
B
So there you go, manipulation and other issues coming into play, not the actual demand. The United states only gets 2 to 4% of its oil from the Middle east all told, but it is a global commodity. If China needs more because they're cut off because the Straits of Hormuz, then they'll buy their gold on the, or their gold, excuse me, their oil on the open market, which means the price goes up for everybody. Right? That's how that works. Right.
C
That's the demand and supply issue. And if there's a huge demand and there's a lack of supply, the price is going to go higher. And that's what they're forecasting for China because they don't believe the Strait of Hormuz is going to be open. And China gets about 25 to 30% of their oil from the Middle East.
B
So let's talk about this for a second. China's been pinched not once but twice. They got a lot of cut rate oil from Venezuela. They were getting a lot of cut rate Oil from Iran. Boy, if America could buy oil at 10 or 20% below the going rate, we'd be going great guns, too. So has China been creating an economy over there because they're getting such a break on energy?
C
Well, China doesn't produce any oil, so they have to import every single ounce, all of it they use. So China is in a really tough position, and they have to get their oil from somewhere. They're the second largest user of oil in the world, and they have to import all of it. So they're in a real quagmire at this point.
B
So right now, we control the tap in Venezuela. Kharg island was targeted by the Trump administration, the military actions, which is the. It is the crown jewel, we're told, of the Iranian oil production facilities. But I also understand, Ed, maybe you can help me with this, that a pipeline was built all the way across Saudi Arabia a number of years ago, so that the Strait of Hormuz was not as important as it seems to be yet. I understand that pipeline is operational. Why don't we just skip the Strait of Hormuz, pump the oil across Saudi Arabia where the pipeline was already built, and be done with it?
C
Yeah, I'm not that familiar with that pipeline, but I will say that there's probably not a lot of capacity as it would be with the ships. So it's still going to slow things down, but it wouldn't slow it down to a point where it's halted. So if there is a pipeline, which my wife and I were talking about last night, you know, isn't there another way for them to get through, get the oil out of there? And I was not aware about the pipeline, but that would be a logical way to do it.
B
Well, here we are. West Texas Intermediate is backed off about $5 a barrel today. It's at $94. Where do you think it should be? Speculation and all the other things set aside, where should oil be today? If the straight of Hormuz were closed, Are we about right now, are we going to see it continue to surge?
C
I think you'll see it pull back even if the straight of Hermuth is closed. I think that the oil markets, they overstayed it on the north end, meaning where it's going higher, and they overstayed it on the south side when it's going lower. So I do believe that we're on the upper range because there is a lot of oil being produced around the world. It's just not being delivered. That's the key.
B
Right. And One last thing. Donald Trump just implemented the defense, the Defense act requiring California to start producing oil again. There was a time, Ed, California produced about 40% of the oil we use in America. But all these green new dealers and environmentalists stopped almost all the oil production in California. If that returns, how does that change the, the whole situation in America?
C
Well, that's going to take a long time for that to be changed. I mean, that could take, you know, a year to get other oil, you know, situations going. So, so I don't believe that that's going to factor into this. But I will say that releasing the strategic oil reserves isn't going to do anything either because we, we consume about 110 million barrels a day on earth. So when you talk about 400 million barrels being released by the international coalition that, that was holding up oil that releases about 400 million barrels, that's just a drop in the bucket. If I can use that analogy.
B
Yeah, I certainly can. Venezuela at peak capacity should put about 3.5 million barrels on the market a day. If California comes back on, maybe it takes a year or two. But all of these things add up to us not relying on the Middle east at all, which is the long term hope and strategy is what I'm looking forward to. Ed, thank you for being here.
C
Absolutely. Thanks, Steve.
B
Always appreciate it. Think about this. Back in 2006, $20,000 bought about 33 ounces of gold at spot price. Today, those prices and those 33 ounces we birth about $165,000. Wish you could go back in time, don't you? Smart Americans diversify a portion of their savings into precious metals. And that's why you need to consider buying gold from my friends at Birch Gold Group. For thousands of years, gold has been a store of wealth and today it's a crucial part of any balanced strategy. Again, text America to 98-98-988. Do that today. Have peace of mind. Coming up after the break, we'll stay on the Strait of Hormuz this time from a military perspective as President Trump is now requesting active involvement from NATO allies to keep the strait open. More on that coming up on America's Voice Live.

Alright, so the conflict again. Iran, dubbed Operation Epic Fury, has reached its third week with the latest development centering around the Strait of Hormuz. Of course, as President Trump has urged NATO allies to help with escorting ships along the strait due to these allies being far more dependent on its oil. Here's a clip from the President expressing that concern before the show today.
A
Some countries get much more.
C
Japan gets 95%.
B
China gets 90%. Many of the Europeans get quite a quite a bit.
A
South Korea gets 35%.
B
So we want them to come and help us with the strait. So NATO allies who were asked were not too receptive and remain cautious about direct involvement. But President Trump sternly warned that it is in the best interest of NATO to keep the strait active and remarked that the US Would remember NATO counterparts who would not help. Join me to discuss this and more, including the president's ask of China to help keep the strait open as constitutional. Former Pentagon JAG officer Don Brown. Don, nice to see you.
C
Thank you, Steve.
B
And I want to share this with the folks because I want them to take something home that's useful information. The east west pipeline across Saudi Arabia is called the Petrol Line. It was built a number of years ago. It has a peak capacity of 7 million barrels a day. It's been running at 2.8 million. I am told that in the next few days it's going to go back up to 7 million barrels a day. So if that's true, the Strait of Hormuz becomes a lot less important real fast, doesn't it?
C
Yeah, I heard you talking to Ed Batasky about that in the earlier segment and I'm familiar with that pipeline. Yes, when the Saudis turn the valves up, that will certainly relieve a lot of the pressure coming in from the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. It isn't clear to what degree it's going to reduce it, but it's certainly a step in the right direction. We know the president wants China and others to come in. China is the largest navy in the world. But I think, Steve, when you consider numbers here, you'll see why the President is making this request. The Strait of War moves at full capacity. There are about 3,000 ships a month. These are oil tankers coming through those narrow straits. That's about 100 ships a day, Steve. The US Navy has 75 destroyers, you know, and Those destroyers would be responsible for escort duty, but they're deployed all over the world. So we just don't have enough ships in the US Navy to single handedly provide escort services. China's got a larger name than we do. I think that's unfortunate. But it's a matter of numbers. So we'll see if NATO steps up. They should. The Chinese certainly should step up, but we'll see how it plays out.
B
Absolutely true. China needs the oil. Bill Clinton knows a thing or two about escort services. That's for another day as we talk about. Sorry, Don, as we talk about this. And you look at the attacks on Iran, something like 7,000, 8,000 targets hit. Now they have no air force left. Their navy, 90 ships strong, have been eliminated or put out of service, sunk or destroyed in some fashion. They don't have much fighting capacity left except they continue to produce these drones. And so they have these sporadic strikes and this could go on for some time. Give me your opinion here on the timeline of our involvement there.
C
Well, these are nuisance. Well, nuisance weapons that can be deadly and that they're very expensive. That's why I call them nuisance weapons. You have, you have mines which can be laid by fishing trawlers. And these drone strikes, of course the number of strikes have gone down. But when it hits, when you have one drone hitting one tanker and setting on fire, that spooks everybody else. I was looking at the numbers. On March 1, the first full day of the war, Iran lost about 300 drones. March 2, 150. For the next week they're in 120 range. And then the next week the number of drone strikes dropped down to about half of that, you know, 40 to 50. They're running out of drones, but they're continuing to try to produce them. And we're hitting those munitions factories where they're being produced. But it only takes one or two to really send a spook into the market. And they're allowed the challenge. And we had USS Samuel B. Roberts when we were escorting freighters or tankers in 1988 during the Iran Iraq war, struck a mine and almost sunk. We've had a couple of naval vessels hit mines in 1991. They survived quite well. But it is a challenge because these weapons are so cheap and so copious. And that's why it's important to get some of these allies in here. This is a matter of freedom of navigation. The British Navy could come in to secure the freedom of navigation on the high seas. It's Not a matter of getting involved in the war. This is a matter of the global economy maintaining some sort of semblance of stability. And so I hope that these allies will consider it from that standpoint.
B
Yeah, the British, the French and all the rest should consider that and so should China. It's their economy that's being damaged more than anyone else. That's a fact. Don, I gotta leave it there for today. Thank you for being here. Thank you, Steve.
C
Appreciate it.
B
