Terrence Bates
Welcome to America's Voice live. I'm Terrence Bates in for Steve Gruber. It is Thursday, March 19, 2026. Let's get right into today's top stories, and there is a lot to talk about here on REAL America's Voice. The Department of Homeland Security funding standoff between Senate Democrats and Republicans remains at a stalemate as terror concerns rise amid war with Iran. Senator Ron Johnson standing by to discuss what can be done to reinstate funding at such a crucial time. Plus, we'll get his thoughts on the upcoming confirmation hearing for President Trump's choice to replace Kristi Noem as secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. And that would be Mark Wayne Mullen later. The Save America act remains with the Senate as Democrats continue to fight against something that many Americans agree on, and that would be voter id. We'll have the very latest plus reaction from Capitol Hill. And as the fight for affordability continues, the GOP looks to push real solutions that put more money into the pockets of Americans just like you. Those stories and so much more coming your way here on america's LIVE Voice Live. First, though, we want to start with the war in Iran. Operation Epic Fury continues as Secretary of War Pete Hegseth says the volume and severity of US Strikes on The Islamic Republic are intensifying daily. During the latest Pentagon briefing this morning, Secretary Hegseth and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff agreed that the operation is on schedule. That includes plans to secure the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran is currently using to threaten global energy flows. In an effort to dismantle the number one global sponsor of terror, the US has targeted Iran's defense bases, underground facilities and naval infrastructure, as well as missile and drone launching and production facilities.
Cancer Survivor / Advocate

Cancer Survivor / Advocate
We continue to hunt and kill afloat assets including more than 120 vessels and 44 minelayers. And the pressure continue.
Terrence Bates
Meantime, Democrats continue to try and limit President Trump's war authority. On Wednesday, Senate Republicans struck down a Democrat sponsored motion to advance a war powers resolution intended to halt President Trump's strikes against Iran. Joining me to discuss is former congressman, retired Army Lieutenant Colonel and Executive Director at the American Constitutional Rights Union, Lieutenant Colonel Allen West. So good to see you sir.
Lt. Col. Allen West
Thank you for having me, Terrence.
Terrence Bates
Absolutely. So what do you make of how this war has been carried out so far? What is the end game in your mind again? And I'm asking you this as a career soldier.
Lt. Col. Allen West
Well, when you look at this operation and understand we're just going into the third week, you have the number one state sponsor of Islamic terrorism, the country of Iran. They have no navy, they have no air force, they have no air defense systems. They have no means by which they can impede or impugn us from striking and attacking the targets that we want. This is an incredible success. And so I think that you saw a shaping phase of the operation. Now we have a decisive phase where we are going after those missiles that can without a doubt seriously impact the Straits of Hormuz. And this should show everyone the depth and the breadth of the ballistic missile program that Iran had, which was meant for one, two things. It was to terrorize the Middle east and to attack our bases that are there, but also to protect their nuclear weapons facilities and capability and capacity. And so we have very simply stripped that that back layer by layer. And I think you will continue to see success. And I just think that people should take a deep breath it's been 47 years that we've been dealing with Iran. I think that we can hang in there for just two to three weeks.
Terrence Bates
Do you think it's going to take two to three weeks to ultimately finish this war?
Lt. Col. Allen West
I think that without a doubt, you are seeing the decapitation of his leadership. And I believe that you have seen the ballistic missile capability decreased by some 95%, as well as the drone capability. So I think that they're running out of their ability to be able to affect the Middle east region. And the most important thing is to make sure that they cannot target and affect the shipment and flow of oil and other shipping through the Straits of Hormuz. And that's where we are right now. That's the next decisive operation. So I believe that without a doubt. I don't like putting time constraints on anything, but when I look at how far we've come in just two and a half weeks, I believe that we could have this thing, without a doubt, wrapped up within two months. And then it's up to the Iranian people what their future will be.
Terrence Bates
So to that last point that you just brought up, it's up to the Iranian people as to what their future is going to be. You mentioned the decapitation of the leadership there. But for me, that is the big concern. Who ultimately will lead Iran forward after we've completely dismantled its ability to continue to terrorize the region and the world?
Lt. Col. Allen West
Well, I think it's important that we send the message there will be no more ayatollahs, mullahs, and clerics that will be in charge there. And without a doubt, I believe that there are some civilian leadership. I know that the former shah's son is looking to return. I don't know if that might be a good idea, because I think the people don't want to go back to a monarchy. They definitely want to have a democratic process. But there can be some type of transition government that Western nations can agree upon and support with the Iranian people. And I think that's what we should be looking at. It's not our job now to go in and try to build democratic institutions. And that's what makes this completely different. You don't see mass amounts of hundreds of thousands of American ground troops. You don't see us worrying about, you know, rebuilding their government structure, things of that nature. That's not the point. The point was to take this threat, this scourge, this delusional regime off and tyrannical regime off of the table.
Terrence Bates
Absolutely. Overnight, Iran attacked Oil fields and refineries in Qatar, Kuwait as well as Saudi Arabia. President Trump now threatening Iran, saying that if the regime attacks Qatar again, quote, he will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars gas field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before. That's a quote from Truth Social. Is this really spreading into more of a regional war right now? The fact that Iran is really attacking its neighbors was probably unthinkable for many of us, but it is reality today.
Lt. Col. Allen West
Well, these are the last throes of a desperate regime, without a doubt. And guess what they're doing. They are forcing those Gulf Cooperation Council states to come to the side of being good allies for us in this moment and in this time when you have the UAE saying that they're looking at stepping up and helping to protect shipping and doing what they can to open up the Straits of Hormuz. But guess what? If we start to go back and take off the table the energy fields, oil fields there of Iran, guess who that hurts? That hurts China. And China cannot afford to have that happen.
Terrence Bates
I hear you qualifying your answer. You said they are our allies at this moment, at this time. Is it only in the interest of self interest that you see some of these Middle Eastern nations being our ally?
Lt. Col. Allen West
Well, there's a saying that I learned over there in the Middle east, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. So I think that that applies right now.
Terrence Bates
Okay, I think that's fair enough and we'll leave it there. Lieutenant Colonel, always good to talk to you, sir.
Chip Wyatt
My pleasure.
Lt. Col. Allen West

Welcome back to america's VOICE live. Appreciate you being here with us this afternoon. The Department of Homeland Security has been operating without funding for well over 30 days now. Democrats aren't budging though, as they demand reforms to Immigration and Customs and Enforcement policies. Democrats are also citing the deaths of Nicole Good and Alex Preddy back in early January as a means to keep funding for the department frozen. The result, TSA agents are working without getting paid. FEMA and the Coast Guard are also unfunded. Meanwhile, Senator Mark Wayne Mullen of Oklahoma, his nomination to head the Department of Homeland Security is headed to the full Senate after advancing out of the Senate Homeland Security Committee just a few hours ago. Joining me now to discuss is Senator Ron Johnson, Wisconsin. Senator Johnson, good to see you.
Senator Ron Johnson
Well, Terrence, hope you're doing well.
Terrence Bates
Doing well. Always good to talk to you. Let's start with the Save America Act. The ongoing debate on the Senate floor is happening, but most of us expect, and I'd like to get your assessment that this is ultimately going to fail. The votes just aren't there.
Senator Ron Johnson
Well, let's face it, Democrats do not want to do anything that would make our elections more secure. You know, they are opposed to election integrity because they want to cheat. I mean, this is extension of their game plan of turning America into one party nation. That's why they flooded millions of immigrants in this country illegally, put them into sanctuary cities, sanctuary states, plus up the census, plus up their numbers of members of Congress. And again, they don't want any controls that were going to prevent those illegal immigrants from voting. So they want to make it easy to cheat. We're trying to make it impossible to cheat, are certainly difficult to cheat because we don't want a legitimate vote canceled by a fraudulent 1 as about 80 to 85% of Americans, including Democrats, are in support of voter ID, proof of citizenship. They want to maintain the integrity of our election. But the only people who don't are elected Democrats because they want a one
Terrence Bates
party nation because so much is at stake when it comes to our nation's elections. Should Leader Thune change the filibuster rules in order to get this thing over
Senator Ron Johnson
the finish line, I just wrote an op ed in the Wall Street Journal proposing that at a minimum, we ought to vote on a rule change which would require a 67 vote threshold. We ought to put Democrats on the record. You know, last time they were in control, even though 31 of them had signed a Susan Collins letters vowing they would, you know, honor the filibuster, they basically all voted to end the filibuster. All but Joe Manchin, Kirsten Sinema. They purge those two from their party. So the split in the Republican conference right now is those of us who believe, take Democrats to the word, they'll end the filibuster first chance they have to do it versus those of us who are, you know, my colleagues who really say they're hoping against all hope the Democrats will honor the filibuster. I just don't think that's true. So that's the split. So why don't we take a vote debate, take a vote on a rule change at a 67 vote threshold and put at least put Democrats on the record.
Terrence Bates
I was talking to a gentleman the other day and he made a great point. Aren't the integrity of our elections far more important than some sort of rule, some sort of Senate rule? So I pose that question to you and I hear you're saying, okay, let's put this thing to a vote and put Democrats on the record. But it seems to me that this is such a priority and it's so urgent that the rule needs to be changed in order to get this done.
Senator Ron Johnson
Well, I'm one of the first Republican senators that came out in favor of ending the filibuster. And let's face it, the vast majority of Democrat voters certainly wanted them to end it when they were in power. I'm not sure how they feel now. I'd say large majority of Republican voters want us to end the filibuster as well right now. So I argue in the column, it's that public opinion that I think eventually will end the filibuster. We're going to be schmucks if we don't do it now and Democrats do, the first chance they get will really look foolish. So again, when we, if we were to end the filibuster, we would do it for the benefit of the American people, secure our elections, secure our border, make America more prosperous. What Democrats do, it's all about the consolidation and maintenance of their power. They would turn D.C. puerto Rico into states they'd Pack the Supreme Court problems. Aren't talking about doing anything like that. That's what Democrats want to do. That's why they are so dangerous. That's why they need to be defeated.
Terrence Bates
Absolutely want to switch to the war in Iran really quickly. Just this morning, Secretary of War Pete Hagsa saying that he plans to ask for $200 billion in funding for the operation. Is that worthwhile in your mind? Is there an appetite for that sort of spending on this war?
Senator Ron Johnson
Well, 2019, we spent 4.4 trillion. This year we're spending 7.4 for. I've made the case that there's a lot of that spending we shouldn't be doing. But defense of our nation is a top priority of the federal government. President Trump had to make a tough decision do it had to be done while it still could be done. Now we have to finish the job. I think Iran is showing what a menace they are to world peace, to world economic order, quite honestly. So we need to end that regime once and for all, allow the Iranian people to take it over. Hopefully a government that is far more peaceful won't spread terror, won't threaten its neighbors.
Terrence Bates
The words imminent threat have been prominent this week as it relates to the war in Iran. Based on all the briefings you've had so far, and I realize that some of those briefings are private and classified. So whatever you can share. Do you see an imminent threat? Was there an imminent threat that justified our attacks on Iran and that affirm those attacks?
Senator Ron Johnson
Again, that's kind of like arguing how many angels dance on the head of the pin. The bottom line is Iran was at war with us for 47 years. They had the blood on their hands of hundreds, if not thousands of Americans through their proxies. They were racing to get a nuclear weapon. They were dedicated, doing. I mean, look no further. The fact that all Iran had to do to be left alone is just say they're not going to hold themselves up to inspections. That's all they had to do. They refused to do it. That speaks volumes. We had to act before they got that nuclear weapon, before their missile and drone stockpiles were so large that if we undertake an action like this, it would be devastating the region. Sorry, damaging the region. It could have been devastating. So President Trump had to make the tough decision to act now while we still could.
Terrence Bates
Senator, before I let you go, next week you and your colleagues will vote to confirm Mark Wayne Mullen, your colleague, Senator there from Oklahoma, as the new secretary, Department of Homeland Security. Do you already know how you'll vote. Do you already have a plan?
Senator Ron Johnson
I already have voted in committee. I voted aye.
Terrence Bates
Okay. And will you not have another vote then? Once it hits the full floor, I
Senator Ron Johnson
will absolutely support him. It was my line of questioning that allowed him to tell a couple stories that were very heartwarming and just prove that he's the right man for the job.
Terrence Bates
All right, we'll leave it there. Always good to see you, sir. Appreciate you being here with us. Have a great rest of the day.
Senator Ron Johnson
Have a great day.
Terrence Bates
All right. Have a good one. All right, folks, we want to check in now on. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is speaking and answering questions from the media. Here he is.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
Come out and say it. Because at the end. At the end, what is the task of leaders? If you're a leader, the most important thing. The most important thing is to assure the security of your people. And that means identifying danger in time and acting against it. That is a prerequisite for the survival of any biological organism. You have to identify danger in time and act in time against it. You either fight or flight. These are the two options you have. Where can you flee? Nowhere. Because Iran can reach any part of the world. So you have to, at a certain point, fight. And this is the juncture where we've reached in time. Not too late, but in time. I just will encourage all those who agree with what President Trump is saying, with what I'm saying, to act. I didn't have to convince President Trump of anything. He didn't need any convincing. He acted as a great leader does to protect his country and to protect the future.
Ad Read Announcer
Thank you. Next question. Alex Trehman from JNS. JNS, right behind you.
Terrence Bates
Yes, Mr. Prime Minister, Hezbollah has opened up another front against Israel, launching rockets against Israeli civilians. Now ground troops are inside Lebanon. Is there any hesitancy toward launching a full ground operation to eradicate Hezbollah? And what would eradicating Hezbollah do to transform Israel, Lebanon relations and the greater Middle East?
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
Look, Alex, I can't divulge our battle plans. Obviously, Hezbollah is not what Hezbollah had been. I said in my opening remarks in Hebrew, that there, you know, they were talking about 150,000 rockets and. And missiles that they had, ballistic missiles. They had thousands of Ridwan terrorists right at our right, next to our fence, underground, ready to invade. We knocked them back. We destroyed the bulk of their missile capacity in six hours. We knocked out Nasrallah. We destroyed all the Hamas, or rather all the Ridwan infrastructure right next to our border. We now have a security corridor, security zone that we're. That is there that prevents this kind of invasion. And we have plans for the future. Obviously, our number one effort is geared towards Iran. If the regime goes, you know, that Hezbollah goes. But in any case, we're devising our plans in such a way that we could remove this threat as well.

Thank you. Final question from Jeremy Dimon at CNN.
Terrence Bates
Mr. Prime Minister, Jeremy Dimon at CNN.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
Nice to see you.
Terrence Bates
You've assassinated Iran's supreme leader and dozens
Chip Wyatt
of other senior Iranian officials.
Terrence Bates
The result of that so far has been the appointment of a new supreme leader considered to be even more hardline than his father. The Iranian regime is not showing any signs of collapse as of now.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
So I wonder, what do you say
Terrence Bates
to those who say that killing those individuals is, in fact, empowering the hardliners in Iran? And are you confident that your strategy will still lead to regime change? And then secondly, if I may, you've
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
also indicated today that you made a
Terrence Bates
commitment to President Trump not to strike these oil and gas facilities in the future. Should President Trump come to you one day and say, oil prices are too high, it's time to end this war, will you listen to him and do you need the United States in order to continue this campaign alone?
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
Was that a single question? Jeremy really hogged it, but I'll answer your questions. I'm not sure who's running Iran right now. Muchtaba, the replacement ayatollah, has not shown his face. Have you seen him? We haven't, and we can't vouch exactly what is happening there. There is a cloud here that's not clear. What we see is that there's a lot of tensions inside the people who are edging for the top. It's not a uniform position. You see that sometimes with the contradictory orders that are given, you know, they do one thing and then they withdraw it and so on. I think it's important that they know that if they think they're going to target the world, target the president of the United States and so on, they themselves are being targeted. That creates a lot of uncertainty. We found that that can have an effect. The removal of sorry, of Nasrallah has never been really has never really been replaced because some people are not replaceable. I think the authority and the hold that Khamenei has had is not going to be translated to anyone, not to Mujtabi, if he's there, and not to anyone else. But I think this is part of the effort to crack the regime. It's not going to happen in one day, we're 20 days into this war. Yes, yes, we're seeing cracks. We're seeing cracks and we're trying to propagate them as fast as we can. Not only in the top command, we're seeing cracks in the field. You know, it's sort of like a hollowed out, rotten piece of wood that's holding on the outside, but there's a lot of rot inside. We're seeing some defections. We're seeing fear and trepidation in the IRGC units that are manning the ballistic missiles. You know why? Because they're afraid to die. They're not all suicidal. In fact, most of them are not. So we're seeing cracks, but we're going to hit them again and again. The minimum thing we want to do is again erase the industrial capacity that they had to produce these weapons. They'll have to build it from a start. And that's very hard. It's very hard to do underground, too. So they're not going to be able to just take the pieces and move them below the earth. It's going to be a lot harder for them. But ideally, if it cracks enough and with some other things that I won't get into, yes, the regime could change. Is it guaranteed? No. And is it up to the Iranian people in the final accounting to make use of the conditions that we're doing in weakening this regime? We'll see. I cannot tell you. They're very brave, by the way. I don't come and criticize them in any way. I think they're very brave. I think they suffered enormously. And the question is, will we have a meeting ground between the weakening of the regime and the rising of the people in many ways that could develop? We'll see. On the oil and gas questions, I can only tell you this. Look, I don't think any two leaders have been as coordinated as President Trump and I. He's the leader. I'm, you know, his ally. America is the leader. Israel is as the national security memorandum described us, I think, a month ago, six months, six weeks ago, I think something like that. They called Israel the model ally. That's how they call it, the model ally. It's not a superpower, but America is seeking around the world. And you hear it from the speeches of President Trump and others in the administration. They say, where are you? You know, we've helped you all these years. Where are you? When we're doing something that is as important, at least as important for you as it is important for us? And yet One country is the there. And against all the vilifications that are leveled at Israel. Israel is sponging off America and all that. No, it's not. It's not. Israel is a brave country, a resolute country with an incredible army, incredible soldiers, incredible courage. And we're fighting alongside the United States. When the chips are down, we're fighting with the United States States. We're fighting for a common goal. So I can tell you that that's the most important coordination. But in practice, President Trump and I speak regularly. You know, we discuss things, Our staff discuss things. Our militaries are in close coordination as never before. But ultimately, President Trump makes his own decisions. And do I respect them? Yes, I do.
Terrence Bates
The question is whether you would or could continue the war.
Ad Read Announcer
Just one question, Jeremy. Thank you. We're going to close. Thank you so much. Thank you, Mr. Prime Minister. Thank you, everyone, for your questions. Today,
Terrence Bates
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu speaking to the media, saying that President Trump was not influenced and did not need to be influenced when he made the decision to attack Iran. Let's listen back in. It looks like he's finishing some more thoughts here.
Ad Read Announcer
Thank you so much. We're going to be concluding now. Thank you, Mr. Prime Minister. Thank you.
Terrence Bates
All right, again, that was Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrapping up those remarks in Hebrew there, but also again saying that President Trump has been clear eyed as it relates to attacks on Iran and that he knew exactly what he was doing and was working really in the interest of the rest of the world and has since been encouraging the rest of the world to get on board and work with the United States. We'll have, of course, more coverage on that throughout the day. But meantime, I want to shift back here to the US as the Senate continues a heated debate over the Save America act. After voting 51 to 48 on Tuesday to advance the legislation to the floor for debate, President Trump has made it clear that he will not sign any other bills into law until Congress acts on this particular measure, the Save America Act. The Save America act, yes. Excuse me. Requires Americans to prove US Citizenship when registering to vote and a photo ID when they actually go to vote. Here to discuss is Chip Wyatt. He's the director of Government Relations for Heritage Action for America. Chip, good morning.
Chip Wyatt
Hey, good to see you.
Terrence Bates
Always good to see you as well. So there's a really good chance that the Save America act will fail unless Leader Thune changes the filibuster rules. Why do you think that he's so reluctant to do so.
Chip Wyatt
Well, I think the support for changing the filibuster isn't there in the Senate right now.
Terrence Bates
Okay.
Chip Wyatt
That said, I think the Senate has an avenue by which they could try to consider this legislation at a majority threshold, which would be through the enforcement of what's commonly referred to as a talking filibuster. So this is sort of like what they're doing on the floor right now, but through a talking filibuster, they could make Democrat senators go down to the floor, exhaust all of their speeches about how this is an attack on democracy and this is the new Jim Crow, and then hope to grind them down to the point that they would stop debating and then you could have a vote at a majority threshold. This strategy is not guaranteed, but it's the only way, absent a rule or precedent change, to try to consider this legislation without having to invoke cloture and get around the 60 vote filibuster.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
Right.
Terrence Bates
this point, this seems to be political theater. Republicans for the large part. I mean, there are a couple of holdouts. Susan Collins is. The Murkowskis, those are holdouts. But for the most part, Republicans are pretty clear eyed about what this means for the country and the urgency of getting this passed. But they seem to want to simply get Democrats on the record voting no or speaking their piece as it relates to the Save America Act.
Chip Wyatt
Yeah, I think there's a little bit of a disconnect between the Senate and where the GOP base is. I think most of the base understands the Democrats have gone on the record and been on the wrong side of almost every issue. There's no real need to get the Democrats on the record for something they already have publicly opposed. What I think the base wants to see is they want to see fight. They want to see the Senate try to pass one of President Trump's main priorities into law and to not just go through the motions, but to actually put up a sustained fight for election integrity. But again, I think that's a disconnect between where the base is and where most folks are in the Senate. Not understanding that a lot of solid Republicans throughout the country, they understand where the Democrats are on these issues. They want to see where the Republicans are. And if the Republicans are willing to fight, to actually move this stuff forward beyond just engaging in theatrics, to put
Terrence Bates
it colloquially, put up or shut up. Chip, we appreciate your time. We'll have to leave the conversation there, even though I could talk to you for 10 more minutes on this. Talk soon, my friend.
Chip Wyatt
Yeah, thank you.
Senator Ron Johnson
All right.
Terrence Bates

Welcome back, everyone. Affordability is expected to be a driving force for voters in this year's midterm elections. As a result of the war in Iran, Americans are feeling the squeeze when it comes to gas prices. Higher gas prices, though, typically also mean increased prices for groceries and everyday necessities. The GOP led by President Trump, pushing a real affordability agenda with historic tax relief. Joining me now to discuss is the executive director of the Coalition for Affordability and Prosperity and the former chief of staff to Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn, Chuck Flint. Chuck, welcome to the show.
Cancer Survivor / Advocate
It's great to be with you.
Terrence Bates
So let's just, let's just get right into it. Kitchen table issues tend to drive elections. It's one of the things that tends to get voters excited to go to the polls to try to make a change. Do you see that being the case in this upcoming midterm?
Cancer Survivor / Advocate
Absolutely. This will be the number one issue. And it's why we founded this group, the Coalition for Affordability and Prosperity, to aggressively set the contrast, because it's a big contrast. Voters can either choose Main street free enterprise ideas or they can go down the failed decline of big government. And we've seen Democrats campaigning on affordability. They talk a lot about it, but then people like Governor Spamberger, they get into office. They just enacted a payroll tax. She put in cap and trade mandates. Energy prices have skyrocketed. You look at Mayor Mandani in New York City. What's he doing? Goes right after the middle class with a property tax increase. He's going to raid the city public employee pension fund. Excuse me, the Rain Day fund. So they're saying one thing and doing another.
Terrence Bates
Is perception versus reality a challenge for Republicans when it comes to the issue of affordability? The president has touted that the economy is better, and up until the war started, gas prices had come down significantly. But there are many Americans who don't just feel that life is better under the Trump administration.
Cancer Survivor / Advocate
Terrence. I think that there is work to do there. And we almost have to be historians of what President Biden did during his four years in office. People forget exactly what happened. We had baby formula shortages, for instance. We had skyrocketing inflation. We had higher mortgage payments. The economy was not doing well at all. And President Trump has brought all that under control. No tax on tips, no tax on overtime, an expanded child tax credit. That Pennsylvania mom at the State of the Union, she was not a prop. She was evidence that these policies are working. Her family is going to save $5,000 a year. That's real kitchen table money.
Terrence Bates
Yeah. I mean, what you're pointing out, that is the reality. But if you go on the street, there are people who are still complaining. Is that simply a personality thing? People are just going to complain no matter what, or is the perception for many Americans that times are still a little tough?
Cancer Survivor / Advocate
I think the perception is that people just. They immediately think about what, you know, they have a hard time kind of looking at perspective. Right. Okay. The last four years versus where we are now, and we've certainly improved quite a bit. Also with what's going on in Iran. Right, The Iran war and their gas prices, there is a bit of. Of pain at the pump right now, but it's temporary. That is not a structural flaw in the economy like the structural flaws that we saw when President Biden was in office. And if you want to return to that, that's fine, but it's going to be a lot more painful.
Terrence Bates
So from coast to coast, as many of these Republican politicians are out there on the streets, beating the pavement, knocking on doors, trying to get their message out, should the sole focus be affordability?
Cancer Survivor / Advocate
Affordability, it's not the sole focus, but it's certainly the driving focus. In the polling that we've conducted, most Americans feel that affordability is the top issue. And that's where we need to focus.
Terrence Bates
You know, and when we talk about affordability, I guess, you know, the low hanging fruit is gas prices and food prices and that kind of thing. But for a lot of young people, owning a home is just not even in the cards at this point. And so that's also something that's got to be addressed.
Cancer Survivor / Advocate
I say would, would imagine it will be addressed. And as I said, the economy is getting better. People forget perspective. As you were talking about earlier, Terence, the mortgage payments under President Biden were twelve hundred dollars higher. And so we have to look at where we came from and where we are now. We are in a better position now. And I know a lot of folks are talking about the Iran war in some of the increased premiums that we're paying, for instance, at the pump. But that temporary, it doesn't represent any type of structural flaw. The economy is doing very well. And as soon as the Strait of Hormuz is under control, and it will be shortly, all of this will go back to where it was. The economy will be sailing right along
Terrence Bates
and of course more Americans. Then hopefully once we do get back on track and people are feeling that we'll start to vote for many Republican candidates. Chuck, appreciate your time. Always good to you. See.

The Trump administration, along with lawmakers on Capitol Hill, are working to reform what many believe is a broken health care system. However, progress isn't always a straight line. There clearly have been disappointments and disagreements from medical freedom advocates. One that appears to be brewing is the battle over MRNA vaccine test technology. Joining me to discuss is the chief of maternal and prenatal health at the Wellness Company. That would be Dr. James Thorpe. Dr. Thorpe, always good to see you.
Dr. James Thorpe
Thanks for having me on, Terrence.
Terrence Bates
So why don't you start with some of the dangers or some of the challenges you see with MRNA treatments.
Dr. James Thorpe
MRNA vaccine, specifically the COVID 19 vaccine, has been the greatest disaster in the history of medicine.
Terrence Bates
In what way?
Dr. James Thorpe
There's never ever been any type of a generally recommended shot. I won't even call it a vaccine. Technically, they had to change the true definition of a vaccine in order to get it uncategorized as a genetic therapy. So it's caused more death and injury than any other medication ever rolled out. Other there's no precedent for this. Prior vaccinations, for example, that have killed only a handful of people have been immediately removed from the market. That would be the swine flu vaccine in the year 1976. Even the vaccine that was rolled out in at the turn of the century for children. That vaccine was immediately removed from the market, the rotavirus vaccine, without any deaths, but yet just within the first 10 weeks of rollout. According to Pfizer themselves, they had 1,223 dead and 42,086 injuries. Casualties unprecedented. And the death and destruction continues.
Terrence Bates
And it seems that the message is getting out there because there are efforts to end recommending MRNA vaccines right now. Why do you think that is? And let's also then just go into the bureaucracies and why they need to start really addressing this issue and pulling back on MRNA technology. I'll call it that for now. We won't just call it the vaccine, if you're okay with that.
Dr. James Thorpe
The technology, yes, it's a very dangerous technology. It was deadly and lethal in animal models. But here's the problem. It's a huge potential money maker. And so you get the weaponization and the politicization. For example, this federal judge appointee, a Biden appointed judge, acting out of lawfare, essentially struck down the power of the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, and then just banned the acip, the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices that was scheduled to meet yesterday. So this is the kind of politicization and lawfare that's going around on the vaccines. It's become very politicized.
Terrence Bates
Yeah, for sure. Want to shift gears just a little bit because last week there of course was the impact of the war that Iran could have on the prescription drug supply chain. There was a lot of talk about that this week. I want to ask you a bit more broadly about the risks of retaliation by pro Iranian forces here in the United States and abroad. We've already seen some violence. Is it possible that we could see pro Iranian terror armed at Americans or aimed at American at home and abroad that employs bioweapons, specifically dirty bombs, anything like that?
Dr. James Thorpe
It's a great concern. We've already seen it. We know that they have cells, terrorist cells in the United States of America and they've even threatened to hit the west coast with drones, suicide drones. So this would be a disaster. I think the important thing for the Americans is to not be scared, but be prepared. And this goes with, you know, anytime our the lines of supply are interrupted, then it's a potential disaster, especially for medicines. So most of many of our medicines, most all of them are manufactured abroad, unfortunately, many of them, most of them in China. And as China gets threatened with this oil supply reduction through the Strait of Hormuz, this is a real critical issue. It's very important I think for every American family to stock up on emergency medications. For example, at the Wellness Company we have the emergency medical kit which has eight potentially life savings prescription medications very important to have on standby because the earlier you treat an illness, the more successful and the better the prognosis is.
Terrence Bates
Dr. Thorpe, we'll have to leave the conversation there. Always good to see you, sir.

Today's what makes America wonderful story comes to us from Tennessee, where a group of engineering students is changing one man's life one ride at a time. For Van Maguire, the outdoors used to be a way of life. But a devastating motorcycle accident in 2024 left him paralyzed. And that's when a group of engineering students from Tennessee Tech university stepped in. They wanted to give Van a real shot at getting his life back. So they got to work designing a custom all terrain wheelchair built to handle the kind of rugged paths he used to love. This wasn't your typical chair, though. It was capable of taking on trails and uneven ground that standard wheelchairs just can't handle. When Van finally got to take it out, everything for him changed. Sometimes the most meaningful innovations aren't just about technology. They're about the willingness of others to come together and put their knowledge to work to better the lives of others. And that, my friends, reminds us of what makes America wonderful. All right, let's get to the America's voice question of the day. Here it is. Why do you think Senate Democrats are trying to block President Trump's war authority amid Operation Epic Fury? John Hogan writes, trump is the only president who is willing to do what it needs to be done. They can't let him win again where so many failed. And really quickly, Dee Dee writes, because they are being paid directly or indirectly by foreign powers. Thanks to each of you who tuned in and chimed in there, and thanks to you for being here with us. We'll see you tomorrow.
