Welcome to America's Voice Live. I'm Steve Garrett. Is Monday the 23rd of March, the year of our Lord 2026? Let's get to today's top stories. As always, thank you for joining me here on Real America's Voice. President Trump is touring Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee. As we speak, you'll hear live pictures right there. We'll keep an eye out and bring you coverage throughout the show as needed. Earlier today, President Trump introduced and instructed the Department of War to postpone any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure. Sign productive conversations to end hostilities. More details on that coming up. Also, the president was in Memphis, Tennessee, as you see, where he is participating in a Safe Task Force, a safety task force initiative created to combat violent crime in Tennessee. I'll bring on Brian Glenn from Memphis for the latest. And then later, as the DHS shutdown drags on, Americans are feeling the burden. With growing travel delays and economic risk mounting, some experts say there is a way to avoid this kind of partial shutdown in the future. All of that coming your way. But first, we start with the workforce, the future and AI. I believe we're about to see a major reversal in the workforce. The highly esteemed white collar jobs are becoming a liability. And the blue collar working man and woman of this country are about to be real glad for their choice of profession. Here is the CEO of one of the leading AI companies, Dario Amodi. Over the anthropic is where he works. And here's what he has to say about AI and the future of employment in America. Listen, you've said AI could wipe out half of all entry level white collar jobs and spike unemployment to 10 to 20% in the next one to five years.
Dario Amodei
Yes.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
That is, that's shocking.
Dario Amodei
That is the future we could see if we don't become aware of this problem now.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
Half of all entry level white collar jobs.
Dario Amodei
Well, if we look at entry level consultants, lawyers, financial professionals, you know, many of kind of the white collar service industries, a lot of what they do, you know, AI models are already quite good at. And without intervention, it's hard to imagine that there won't be some significant job impact there. And my worry is that it'll be broad and it'll be faster than what we've seen with previous technology.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
Now, that's not a hype from some blogger. That's the guy building the tech, telling us the tech is coming for the cubicles. And in 2026, we're living it. Tech firms, finance and law already shed tens of thousands of positions. In 2025 alone, over 55,000 layoffs cited AI or automation. And surveys of executives show more than one in three planning cuts in the next year or two as they deploy AI tools to save themselves money. Companies are freezing hires, slashing junior roles in coding, customer service, legal research, marketing, even accounting. Entry level grads with six figures in college debt, well, they're staring at hiring slowdowns while AI rewrites the code, reviews contracts and handles calls better than fresh out of college. Kids, here's a crazy chart for you. The blue line I'm going to show you represents the value of general offices being constructed over the last year. The red line represents the construction of data centers. For the first time, the value of data centers constructed in the US has officially surpassed the value of offices being built here. Look at that chart. The future is changing as we watch. Coastal elites mocked manufacturing workers as deplorables for decades. Shipping jobs overseas or importing illegal alien workers while telling our kids college was the only ticket to success. And now their Ivy League degrees feel like participation trophies. Student loans pile up for worthless pieces of paper. And the credentialed class that sneered at blue collar America is tasting real vulnerability. But here's the red blooded American comeback. Blue collar jobs, the ones that build, fixed and keep this country running. These are AI proof and they're booming. You can't robot your way through a flooded basement plumbing job at 2 in the morning, weld steel on a skyscraper in high wind or rewire a live data center powering the AI itself. Demand is exploding because of the AI boom. Data centers need massive physical infrastructure and we are short hundreds of thousands of skilled workers. The Associated Builders and Contractors estimates are that we need 349,000 new construction workers in 2026 alone. Electricians projections say over 300,000 new ones this decade meet AI driven demand plus replacing 200,000 that are stepping away from the job. Wages are skyrocketing. Journeymen, electricians and union gigs or Data centers pull 120 to over $200,000 plus overtime and benefits. Specialized roles see 25 to 30% pay jumps. Construction on data centers averages anywhere from $81,000. That's 32% more than non data projects. Ken Rusk is a former construction worker who advocates for blue collar workers. And here's his prediction on the jobs that are safe going forward. What blue collar jobs would you tell people watching right now to go into about 20 seconds?
Ken Rusk
Well, I can tell you anything in energy that's going to be a huge thing for the future. You know these autonomous lawnmowers that you see running around golf courses? Somebody has to build those things. So anything that becomes autonomous is going to need to be built by somebody, going to be, need to be fixed by somebody, repaired or maintained. So these are the kind of jobs that will be around for the future. AI is great, but we need to, we need to have a backbone for AI and somebody has to build all that stuff.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
Now these careers Deliver stability, high earning potential, Tangible results you can see and touch, and real satisfaction without the cubicle grind. God, I hated cubicles. Blue collar work has always been America's backbone. Resilient, foundational. While elites chased zoom meetings. Mike Rowe, another guy who's been out front warning us for years, schools downgraded trades as a consolation prize, and it created shortages everywhere. Here's Mike with more.
Mike Rowe
We'd been telling kids for 15 years to code, learn to code. We said, yeah, well, AI is coming for the coders. They're not coming for the welders. They're not coming for the plumbers. They're not coming for the steam fitters or the pipe fitters or the H Vac. They're not coming for the electricians. You know that ideas festival I was telling you about in Aspen? I sat there and listened to Larry Fink say, we need 500,000 electricians in the next couple of years. Not hyperbole.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
Mike also shared stories of young electricians and Texas data centers under the age of 30 making 240,000 to almost $300,000 a year. And they get poached multiple times a month. Oh, no, no, come work for me. No, no, no, I'll pay more. The demand is there, and it's actually integral to our national security. Here's another story from Mike.
Mike Rowe
Not a week goes by where I don't get a phone call from somebody like the Blue Forge alliance who oversees our maritime industrial base. That's 15,000 individual companies who are collectively charged with building and delivering three nuclear powered subs to the Navy every year for 10 years. Right? Two Virginia, one Columbia class. Mind bogglingly complicated. This guy calls and says, we're having a hell of a time finding tradespeople. Can you help? I said, I don't know, man. It's pretty skinny out there. How many do you need? He says, 140,000. 140,000 now, granted, over seven years, but they need 80, 90,000 right now. These are our submarines, folks, right? Things go hypersonic. Little sideways with China, Taiwan, whatever. Our aircraft carriers are no longer the point of the spear. They're vulnerable. Our submarines matter. And these guys have a pinch point because they can't find welders and electricians to get them built,
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
that would be a problem. Parents need to start teaching their kids that learning a trade is what will set them up for success long term and big paychecks. Entrepreneur Daniel Priestley predicts plumbers will regularly earn more than the lawyers calling them to their homes at 2 in the morning. Listen to this.
Daniel Priestley
Blue collar work has been devalued. And we've seen people who work with their hands and people who turn up to your house and fix your house in a devalued role and it could be in the next, you know, couple of years. These are the roles that are elevated the most and that plumbers regularly earn more than lawyers simply because the nature of the economy has changed. One thing I've learned over the last 25 years is, is the pendulum swings things that very few things stay the same. There is always this swinging pendulum and the swinging pendulum is like, oh yeah, white collar work behind a screen is the high value thing. Oh no, it's actually blue collar work with your hands. You talked about supply and demand. We dis the government disrupted the natural way children go out and find opportunities in the world by making university loans come along and they said, oh, everyone can just take out a university loan and go to university. In fact, you must and you should go to university, get yourself in debt or else you never get a job anywhere if you don't do a university degree. And lots of young people who should have been plumbers, electricians and concreters and bricklayers went off and became a master, got a master's degree in the mating habits of butterflies and, you know, some random degree that doesn't have a job attached.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
The mating relations of what? Never mind. And now that distortion has led to a massive need for blue collar workers which is being exacerbated by the development of AI. Why? AI shreds professional services, but physical work, hands on work, needs to be done by people. Plumbers and electricians are already pushing 65 to $95,000. In a medium income, top earners easily pass six figures. No debt, overtime, bonuses, no tax on overtime. Of course, for decades Democrats devalued trades, pushed college for all and hallowed out the heartland. But President Trump has flipped the script. He celebrated welders, pipe fitters, truckers as heroes and brought manufacturing back. Blue collar workers are currently seeing the largest wage increases in American history. Vice President J.D. vance has also advocated for blue collar workers. If you've never read the book Hillbilly Elegy, I highly recommend it. It's great book. It's Vance's memoir and in it he champions working class capitalism, an economy investing in practical jobs, shrinking the blue collar white collar wage gap, paying decent wages for hands on work. Now he's getting to see that actually implemented in 2025 and 2026 speeches like this one in Auburn Hills, Michigan at a factory he visited, he touted over 2,000 new manufacturing jobs added since Trump took office. Tariffs protecting American workers from foreign poaching, and the one big beautiful bill boosting take home pay by thousands per family. He says we're rewarding companies that invest in American hands, not shipping jobs overseas. He calls manufacturing a fundamental part of who we are as a nation because working with our hands is America's heritage. And if you're a white collar worker who wants to switch teams, well, good news, Ken. Russ says there's room for you too. Listen, but we have to look past just the kids. We need to look at the middle aged person who quite frankly, their job may go away because of AI. So what is, what is your message to that person? Will they be able to land a blue collar job as their second act?
Ken Rusk
Well, yeah. You know, it's funny because one of the readers that I was, that I didn't realize would happen was somebody just in that situation. I had somebody who had lost their job working in a cubicle on the 15th floor selling medical supplies. And one of the things they said to me was, you know, I really liked being a of part plumber when I was in college. I really liked being outside working with my hands. And he said, you know, after reading your book, I said, you know what, I'm going to go do that. I'm going to switch back to that career. He's never been happier because he now controls most of his life. He controls his input, his output, the quality of that output. He controls his day, his time and his schedule and his financial gain. So for him, it's been a great move and I think anyone can do it. They just have to, you know, they have to start thinking differently and get back into that world.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
Agreed. Under this America first leadership, we don't necessarily have to fear AI although we should always be honest about the risks. But we can harness it to make workers richer while protecting jobs that robots can't touch. This isn't the end of the American dream. It might be the return of the real one. Built by calloused hands and grit, the elite sneered at blue collar America for generations. And now that sneer looks like envy. The hierarchy is flipping plumbers out, earning lawyers, electricians with six figures powering AI JD Vance and President Trump are making the GOP the true working class party. Real Americans, the plumbers, electricians, builders who kept the lights on while elites chased stock options are rising. And that's good news. Kids learn a trade. And that's the monologue coming up. After the break, I'll discuss President Trump instructing the Department of War to postpone any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for five days, citing productive discourse as the reason. Details Coming up.

Oh well, the war in Iran has mostly seen the strategic strike of military sites. The conflict has put energy sites on the table as well. Now, over the weekend, President Trump took to social media and sternly asserted that if the stranglehold on the Strait of Hormuz were to continue, then the US Would obliterate Iran's power plants. Well, today President Trump indicated that an extension of five days would be implemented and instructed that the Department of War postpone any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure, citing productive conversations to end hostilities. Join me to discuss this former Congressman, executive Director of the American Constitutional Rights Union, my friend, Lieutenant Colonel Allen West. Colonel, nice to see you.
Lieutenant Colonel Allen West
Always a pleasure. Good to be with you, Steve. Thank you.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
Now, there are some reports that Iran says we're not talking to Trump, but he's talking to people inside the country. And you've got to think the people that might come into power or might have the country left to them when it's all said and done, they need those power plants. So I think that's where the conversation is centered. What are your thoughts?
Lieutenant Colonel Allen West
One of the things you have to understand about Donald Trump, he always allows people to have the off ramp. He had the off ramp for Nicolas Maduro. He didn't take it. And you saw what happened. I'm sure that he's providing an off ramp to the folks there in Cuba, and we'll see what they do. But also now you see an off ramp for whatever the leadership is in Iran because we want to get those straits of Hormuz open. And I think that if they bulk, they don't accept this offer from President Trump, or as he likes to say, this deal from President Trump, you will see him come down hard because I believe he wants to bring this to a culmination rather quickly and get those straits back open and get the oil flowing. And look at how the markets responded this morning.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
They did respond well. A positive. Look, the oil got down to $88 earlier today. It jumped back up a little bit, but it has stabilized. It's not over $100 now. It's in a place where gas prices should also stabilize and give people a break. As you look at this, though, if there's not a regime change, Colonel, and we end hostilities, was it successful in your mind?
Lieutenant Colonel Allen West
I think it's successful in that they don't have a military capability and capacity to be able to hold that region hostage and to once again extend their support to militant Islamic terrorist group groups throughout the region. Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, Islamic Jihad, what have you. So I think that you have to say that that is success. We took down that massive arsenal that they had. And I'm quite sure that it would be in the back of anybody's mind that the United States of America will return if it ends up being, you know, this son of Khamenei or some other IRGC type of leader. But I think Donald Trump does not want to see an ayatollah, a mad moolah or a crazy cleric being in charge of Iran. He wants this totalitarian, tyrannical, theocratic political regime to be gone.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
Yeah. All right. So let me, let me ask you, I want to shift gears a little bit because earlier today the president said he's going to tie the DHS shutdown, the defunding by the Democrats to the SAVE act and he's told the United States Senate don't plan on going home for Easter. Do this one for Jesus, he said. Made me chuckle. He said, get this done. I mean, this is his focus. You cannot have a secure republic without secure voting. And arguments in front of the Supreme Court today seem to indicate that accepting mail in ballots after election Day probably not going to pass muster at the Supreme Court. These are big developments, aren't they?
Lieutenant Colonel Allen West
They are huge developments. And let's understand something. When the left talks about mail in ballots, they're talking about something that is unlawful and unconstitutional. They're talking about mailing ballots out to addresses that haven't been reviewed because they don't want voter registration roll review. When you talk about mail in ballots, we got to get back to what we know as absentee ballots. Either you're there to vote in person, early voting, or election day, or because you're deployed, illness or something of that nature, you request for an absentee ballot, which has to have a signature verification. The mail in ballots that the Democrats like don't have signature verifications. And then this whole thing about the ballot drop boxes, I think that's something else that needs to go. And without a doubt, I mean, when you look and see what is happening in our country, why would we not want to have a fully funded Department of Homeland Security when we're at a war with the number one state sponsor of Islamic terrorism? And we have seen how many terrorist attacks just in the last two, two and a half weeks? So the Democrats are starting to lose favor here. And when this becomes a political albatross, I think they'll get rid of it. And I keep going back to Hakeem Jeffries, who said we don't want ICE at polling locations. The real question is, Hakeem, why do you not want ICE at polling locations?
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
Yeah. The other thing is, you know, we've watched California for years, Colonel, It's Election Day. Two weeks later, they're still counting. A month later, they're still counting. Republicans usually in the lead by a little bit. And somehow, magically, 3, 4, 5 seats always end up in the Democrat column. That has to end, doesn't it?
Lieutenant Colonel Allen West
It does, it does. And that's one of the things we at the American Constitutional Rights Union, we signed on to an amicus br that says Election Day means Election Day. It's not Election Week, it's not Election Month. And I think once again, that lends itself to the voter fraud that we have seen. Look, I think it's attributed to Joseph Stalin, who said it's not the person that cast the ballot that counts is the person that counts the ballot that matters.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
That's exactly right. And before I let you go, I would be remiss if I didn't say, man, those Tennessee Volunteers are making you happy today, aren't they, Rocky Top?
Lieutenant Colonel Allen West
Hey, I'll tell you, go Balls, go Big Orange. But look, the state of Michigan got Michigan and Michigan State in there, just like Iowa and Iowa State. So it's going to be a really good sweet 16.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
I agree. Best of luck to your team in Orange.
Lieutenant Colonel Allen West
Thank you. God be with you.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
God be with you, my friend. Yeah, my bracket, it isn't much, but it's still alive. All right. Coming up after the break, President Trump was in Memphis, Tennessee. As you saw at the top of the story. A short time ago, he participated in a Memphis safety task force, an initiative meant to combat violent crime in Tennessee. Details coming up. Well, President Trump is in Memphis, Tennessee, today. Won't be there much longer. He put his attention from Iran back to law and order here on the streets of American cities. The president highlighted a sharp drop in crime, down 43% following his deployment of the National Guard to the city in September. The operation led to more than 7000 arrests and the seizure of over 1100 illegal firearms. The Memphis initiative is now being held up as a model for the president's broader immigration and crime enforcement strategy. RAV's own Brian Glenn on the road with the president live from Memphis right now. Brian, welcome. I can see that Air Force One is still there, but I don't think it's going to be there a whole lot longer.
Brian Glenn
No, it's not, Steve. I anticipate Air Force One to leave here, here in just a few minutes. But yes, as you laid it out, the numbers look great on paper. We heard some heartbreaking stories as well as we had a mom and a local business owner talk about the impact of crime that it's had in this area. But now that President Trump has deployed this Memphis task force, now about six months into it, we've seen a major drastic change in crime. We've apprehended criminals off the street. We've confiscated guns. We've arrested sex offenders, child abusers, people that were wanted from the law. They're now behind bars and they're out of this community. Making Memphis safer.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
Yeah, it was almost a miracle. I just saw Steve Cohen, Tennessee, has one Democrat. He represents Memphis. Steve Cohen, he had to begrudgingly admit, well, it looks like it might have worked some. Oh, it worked A lot more than some, Mr. Cohen. And when Democrats have to admit that on TV, it really reinforces what Donald Trump is trying to do in places like Chicago, D.C. and elsewhere. Right? Yeah.
Brian Glenn
And the only thing, Steve, that's forbidding these communities that are struggling with crime is just letting go of their tds. That's exactly what they have. We know the blueprint was proven in dc, it was proven in Memphis, and it will be proven in any other city that's willing to ask the federal government. President Trump, I want you and your team to come together, clean up the crime, and in little as three months. And President Trump said, ideally, around four to six months, you can eliminate all the crime off the street. 90% of the crime in any major city is done by 2% at most of the population. So you get rid of those 2%, you get rid of the majority of the crime.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
Yeah. The other city that did well, New Orleans, did well, doing the same sort of rollout. But I also wanna couple this, Brian, because in 2025, we saw the largest drop in criminal activity in crime in American history. 2025 saw the biggest drop in crime. Part of that has got to be attributed to sealing the border, getting rid of illegals that are here committing crimes. It has to be. This is part of a one, two punch to make Americans and American cities great again.
Brian Glenn
Yeah. Stephen Miller had said on the stage earlier today, we are seeing the lowest murder rate in over 150 years since they've actually been recording this statistic. And this has happened in just one year. So to your point, the formula is there. If these mayors and these city council members, these governors, Steve Cohen, somebody in Congress wants to step aside, they can clean up your city. Murder rates will drop. Communities will become safer. Kids will be able to grow up in a community where they're not scared to go out front. They had a nice mom on stage talk about that. Literally, her neighborhood would be riddled with bullets every day now, Steve, her kids can go out and play and that's a good thing. Things have quieted down a little bit. I think they're probably about to fire up the big engines and take off there. But what a great day here in Memphis. Now President Trump obviously heading back to D.C. right now. And we'll have full coverage from D.C. all week with President Trump.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
Steve, of course, I want to compare one more thing before I let you go, Brian, because as these blue cities, often in red states, be it Memphis or New Orleans, take in the National Guard, see the crime rates plummet, that Works. But blue states and blue cities continue to try to use tried and true failures. What I mean by that is that look at Virginia, 15 brand new extreme gun control laws right there, not Too far from D.C. where you work all the time. They are enforcing sanctuary city policies, going after gun owners when obviously in 2025, a few million guns were sold in America. And yet the crime rate, as you just pointed out, the murder rate, the lowest it's ever been. It's not about the guns, is it?
Brian Glenn
Nope, it's not about the guns. And we've seen far too often these local shootings that have happened that you've been in a gun free zone. And you think to myself, well, what would happen, Steve, if a good guy with a gun could stop a bad guy with a gun? So these gun laws don't simply reduce any of the gun violence. They actually, I think, protect the criminal and they make it a lot tougher to stop. Well, as you can see me, step aside. This is a beautiful shot as Brandon Jarvis can get for you. This is a look at Air Force One pulling out here at Memphis Airport. As I said, Steve, it's on its way back to DCA or I should say Joint Base Andrews there in D.C. what a fine, great day. Which, by the way, President Trump making a stop over at Graceland before coming back here. So I guess he's shaking it up. Why? You said in Memphis.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
Well, if you go to Memphis, you got to go to Graceland. I did. It's required. All right, Brian, thank you as always. Enjoy the day and enjoy your trip back to D.C. greatly appreciate seeing you here today. Brian Glenn, everybody. Coming up after the break, I'll discuss the ongoing Democrat led DHS shutdown and how it's affecting everyday American. Some experts say that there is a way to ensure this never happens again. Wouldn't that be nice? Details coming up on avl. Well, as the DHS shutdown drags on, Americans are feeling the burden with growing travel delays and economic risks that are mounting. TSA lines are stretching for hours in some places as workers go unpaid, creating chaos at airports across the country. Not only that, but other government agencies like FEMA and the Coast Guard and CISA also remain unfunded. Meanwhile, Democrats continue to hold vital government agencies hostages. Lawmakers remain locked in this standoff. However, there is a way to stop this madness from happening again. Joining me to discuss is the senior director of government affairs at the National Taxpayers Union, Tommy Aiello. Tommy, nice to see you today.
Brian Glenn
Good afternoon.
Tommy Aiello
Thanks for having me.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
All right, so, all right, solve it for me. How do we make it so this doesn't happen again?
Tommy Aiello
You know, unfortunately, what the Democrats are putting all of the American public through is terrible, but it's avoidable. There's a couple of bills, bipartisan bills in Congress called the Prevent Government Shutdowns Act. This is being led by Senator Lankford of Oklahoma, a strong conservative. What his bill does, it basically prevents government shutdowns from ever happening again. Every time there is a close to lapse in government funding, the government just goes on autopilot at a two week period, meaning that the government continues to be funded. All these government agencies can stay open and we can avoid another needless government shutdown that costs the American public dearly.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
It does. You know, the president today, and this was, we'll see how this plays out. He just tied DHS funding to the SAVE act and he told the Senate don't plan on going home for Easter. Just stay in town, get it solved. He's putting the screws to him in there.
Tommy Aiello
He is. And as he rightly should. We need to make sure the government gets open. And unfortunately, what the Democrats are doing is really terrible. It's forcing people to get to the airport, in some cases four hours early like they are in Atlanta. This is a system that just cannot go on with business as usual. The Senate should Stay in Congress for as long as it takes in order to get the government reopened. Now, what I'm most concerned about is if and when the Democrats take power in November, whether it's the House or the Senate, they're going to have a lot of leverage over President Trump in future funding battles. We need to defang the Democrats, pass Senator Lankford's bill as soon as possible to make sure that the Democrats can't hold this over President Trump in his last two years in office.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
You know, the American people are sick of this, Tommy. They are. I didn't get my way. I'm going to shut down the government. And look, these TSA workers, this is the third time they've been used as pawns in this funding back and forth over politics. Look, ICE is funded through 2029. So is Customs and Border Patrol. So the things that the Democrats are trying to impact aren't even affected by any of this. It's raw political gamesmanship. Go ahead.
Tommy Aiello
No, it really is. It's so unfortunate. What they want to do is go after President Trump. They want to hurt him politically by hurting the economy, but by doing so, they're hurting everyday Americans. They're making it harder to get to the airport to go on vacation, go on business travel, or go home to see family members. It's really disappointing. And unfortunately, it really shows us who the Democrats are and what they stand for. Republicans, they never did this under Joe Biden's presidency. And unfortunately, we're seeing the repercussions of that action right now. It's unfortunate, but entirely avoidable. We need to make sure government shutdowns never happen again.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
All right, so it's March Madness time. That's for sure. In Washington as well. Handicap it for me, Tommy. Do they get this done? Do they get DHS funded anytime soon? And I think, more importantly, do we get this SAVE act put together? Last word to you.
Tommy Aiello
You know, I think we're seeing a lot of progress in reopening dhs. And the sooner that could happen, the better it is for everybody. You have TSA workers working for months without a paycheck. That's not sustainable. You wouldn't do that. I wouldn't do that. And the Senate certainly wouldn't work without pay either.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
Well, I did see some Senate Republicans say they should pass a law so that nobody gets paid in Congress. If anybody in government is victimized by a government shutdown, I happen to agree with that. Tommy, thank you for being here.
Tommy Aiello
Thank you.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber

If you cannot afford to pay your tax bill, you are not alone. But what you do next does matter for millions of Americans. Tax season doesn't end with a refund, it ends with a bill they weren't expecting. It can be shocking. Some already owe and now they're staring down another payment they can't cover. April 15th, not far away. Others see it coming, but don't know what steps to take. Right now, you need to get ahead of it. For business owners, the stakes can be even higher with bigger balances and more at risk. Of course, if you fall behind, if that balance is ignored after April 15, penalties, interest collection actions can start up and they can pile up quickly. Joining me to discuss what options you have, spokesperson for Tax Network usa, Cameron Kinsey. Cameron, nice to see you.
Martha Stewart
Good to see you too, Steve. Thanks for having me on.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
So the question is simple. What if you just don't have the money to pay? What do you do?
Martha Stewart
Well, that's a good question. I think a lot of Americans are in this position right now, Steve. The worst thing you could do is panic or ignore it completely because the IRS does have programs in place for people who genuinely cannot afford to pay their full balance. That can look like installment agreements where you pay over time, currently not collectible status where collections are temporarily paused, or in some cases offers in compromise where that debt can be completely reduced. But here's the key. None of these options are automatic. They're based on your full financial picture and how your situation is presented. That's why having professionals in your corner matters so much. Because one misstep or one missing document could potentially cost you thousands.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
Yeah, so what about someone who already owns Right now, it's already starting to snowball. And there's another bill coming on April 15th now. What?
Martha Stewart
Yeah, that's a, that's a situation that becomes significantly more urgent when you have multiple years of tax debt stacking up. The IRS starts to look at this as a pattern of non compliance. And once that happens there, it's much more likely to escalate to collections through liens, through levies, even wage garnishment. It also weakens your negotiation position because it shows ongoing issues rather than one time hardship. And so at that point, it's not just about resolving the tax, it's about protecting yourself. And that's why bringing in qualified tax attorneys or a firm can become critical because you do need a strategy in place, not just a payment plan in that situation.
Steve Guru / Steve Gerber
Now, somebody's listening right now, Cameron, and they, they know they owe money and they know they might already owe money from the past. What do they need to do right now, right now, at this moment?
Martha Stewart
Well, you should call the Professionals at Tax Network usa, we've saved people over a billion dollars in back taxes. I think the biggest mistake people make is just waiting until the last minute. You should call now because the earlier that you act, the more options that you may have and the more control you can keep over the situation. Tax Network, we know the tax code inside and out. They essentially act as a liaison between you and the irs so you're not left having to navigate this on your own. All right. What makes America wonderful? We do it every day with the hope of putting a smile on your face before we send you off for the rest of your day. Today's story comes to us from Fort Worth, Texas where a 19 year old volunteer delivery driver arrived to a delivery just in time to save a woman's life. Young Meals on Wheels driver Alexandra Vizak was making his rounds when something unexpected happened behind one of the doors on his route. Inside the home, an elderly woman known as Ms. Lena was in serious trouble. She was suffering from a severe diabetic episode. Alone, unable to move and running out of time. Somehow she managed to reach him through her doorbell, desperately asking for help. Without hesitation, Zvak called 911, staying calm, keeping her talking and making sure she wasn't alone in those critical moments. Paramedics arrived within minutes and that quick response made all the difference as first responders were able to get her into a stable condition. Ms. Lena later said that if he had not shown up when he did, she wouldn't have made it. A simple delivery turned into a life saving moment and a reminder that sometimes heroes don't wear capes, they just show up at the right time. And today, this 19 year old's heroic actions remind us of what makes America wonderful. All right, question of the day today. What makes blue collar work more secure in today's AI driven world? Freedom always writes AI is not capable of empathy or emotion and physical hands on tasks. So true. Boatrider615 Blue collar workers are the boots on the ground driving the workforce. AI might replace white collar, which is a mistake, but blue collar represents action. It's true. Gadsden Warrior writes the AI is run by liberal software. Therefore it will demand that all human blue collar workers clean the AC filter, scrub all the electronics of dust, maintain the many nuclear reactors, and of course clean their own bathrooms. Such a cynic and dibbie. Django. Jimmy Django. AI can't fix a leaking pipe or fix an air conditioner or service a heater. AI cannot repair a motor vehicle, cannot dig a ditch or find minerals. A is not for the good people, good for the people. It's to control the people without accountability. Some truth to that, don't forget to follow me on social media. Aix, Getter, Instagram and yes, TikTok. On occasion, I'll make an appearance. Don't forget to join me tomorrow morning. Beginning at 6am here on Real America's Voice for the Steve Gerber show, we begin live broadcasting. And I have a new partner in crime. Ivy will be there every day. You don't want to miss it. I'll see you soon.
