Because when the mess is already handled, you can focus on what matters, the food, the people, and the moment. It may look effortless, but now you know it's Reynolds Kitchens countertop prep paper. America's Voice Live starts now.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
And welcome to America's Voice Live. I'm Steve Gura. It is Tuesday, the 24th of March, in the year of our Lord 2026. Let's get to the day's top stories. As always, I appreciate you spending time with us right here on Real America's Voice. As the DHS shutdown nears the 40 day mark and Democrat lawmakers continue to refuse to pass the Save America Act, President Trump says he is now tying the two together. I'll bring on Congressman Mark Harris of North Carolina to discuss that in detail. Also, CBS News is Margaret Brennan has come under fire after being accused of mocking people of faith after Pete Hegseth's recent prayer remarks for our troops. I'll show you what she said in a moment. And then later, Florida lawmakers have approved a bill that would allow trained college and university employees to carry firearms on campus as part of school safety efforts. That story and more coming up but first, we start with Iran and a hopeful end to that war sometime soon. We've seen more signs this week over the weekend that the conflict in Iran is not going to be a forever war that mainstream media and Democrats are trying to make it out to be and honestly are secretly hoping for, to destroy the President in the midterms. President Trump stepped up to the microphones yesterday with this important announcement.
Donald Trump
Listen, we have had very, very strong talks. We'll see where they lead. We have points, major points of agreement. I would say almost all points of agreement. Perhaps that hasn't been conveyed. The communication, as you know, has been blown to pie. They're unable to talk to each other, but we've had very strong talks. Mr. Witkoff and Mr. Kushner had them. They went, I would say, perfectly. I would say that if they carry through with that, it'll end that problem, that conflict, and I think it'll end it very, very substantially. They want very much to make a deal. We'd like to make a deal, too. We're going to get together today by probably ph. Because it's very hard to find a country. It's very hard for them to get out, I guess. But we'll at some point, very, very soon meet. We're doing a five day period. We'll see how that goes. And if it goes well, we're going to end up with settling this. Otherwise, we'll just keep bombing our little hearts out.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
That's leadership, the art of the deal in real time. While the Biden Harris crowd spent years coddling the mullahs and watching them race toward the bomb, Trump picked up the phone, applied real pressure and got on them to fold on having a nuclear weapon. He says even more.
Representative Anna Paula Luna
Listen, so you said there's many points of agreement with Iran right now.
Donald Trump
What can you give us, like, 15 points? 15 points. They're not going to have a nuclear weapon. That's number one. That's number one. Two and three, they will never have a nuclear weapon. They've agreed to that.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
He didn't beg, he didn't apologize for America. He made them understand that the era of weakness is over. And get this, his administration isn't even wasting time with the Supreme Leader hiding in his bunker. No, they're dealing directly with another top guy inside Iran, a real power player who actually makes decisions. Trump's team cut through the regime's usual smoke and mirrors and went straight to the source, one that's willing to negotiate. Apparently, here it is,
Donald Trump
a top. A top person. Don't forget We've wiped out the leadership. Phase one, phase two and largely phase three. But we're dealing with the man who I believe is the most respected and the leader. You know, it's a little tough. They've wiped out. We've wiped out everybody. No, not the Supreme Leader. We don't. Well, nobody's ever. Nobody heard of the second Supreme Leader, the Sun.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
Are these direct?
Donald Trump
Nobody. We have not heard from the Sun. In all fairness, everybody has been killed from the regime. They're really starting off. There's automatically a regime change. But we're dealing with some people that I find to be very reasonable, very solid. The people within know who they are, they're very respected, and maybe one of them will be exactly what we're looking for.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
Now, that's how you win, that's how you end wars before they drag on for another decade or two. The fake news outlets are already screaming unprecedented, like it's a bad thing. Unprecedented is right. Unprecedented success. Iran is denying that the talks ever happened because they don't want to look weak. But UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who is weak, who refused to be part of the significant stopping of the problem of the state of Hormuz, won't even help. He says even he knows that these talks took place here. He is. My very strong view is we need to de escalate and bring an end to this conflict as swiftly as possible. And we've been working with another, a number of countries in that regard. And to that end, I welcome the talks reported between the US and Iran. And to be clear with the committee, we, the UK were aware that that was happening. And the immediate priority has to be a swift resolution of the conflict and deliver, delivering a negotiated agreement which puts tough conditions on Iran, particularly in relation to nuclear weapons. So that's the sort of number one priority. Number one priority. But he's not going to do anything to help make that a reality. He'll just let President Trump do the heavy lifting while he criticizes him. Typical for the Brits and the Europeans in general. Thanks to these productive talks, a five day ceasefire is currently in effect. And meanwhile, the world is lining up behind America. More than 20 countries, more than 20 have signed on to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz. That's the critical choke point where 20% of the world's oil flows generally, even though it's only 2% of the oil we use here. Iran tried to squeeze it shut, thinking they could blackmail the world. Trump said no. He called in allies and now we've got a coalition ready to keep those shipping lanes wide open. Saudi Arabia, the uae, even some European partners who finally woke up and realized Trump's America is the only reliable partner. This isn't some NATO paper pushing exercise. This is coordinated naval power, intelligence sharing and enforcement muscle that says plain ice or get out of the way. The mullahs thought they could disrupt global energy and spike prices to hurt American families and those in Europe too. Instead, they're watching their leverage evaporate. You can already see the results in the markets and it's glorious. Right after the cessation announcement dropped, oil prices took a nosedive, down over 8% in a single trading session. Gas at the pump is starting to trend just a bit lower now. And we haven't even hit the weekend. So hopefully a little more easing in the price over the next couple of days. Stock market also enjoying it so far. The dow jumped nearly 700 points in the first hour of trading. Tech, energy, defense, everything's green. Investors know stability when they see it. They're more confident about the possibility of a strong America under Trump as opposed to the senseless chaos and inflation we suffered for four long, painful years under Joe Biden's leadership or whoever was in charge. Representative Anna Paula Luna shared her confidence in the end of this conflict, believe it or not, on Bill Maher's show. Here she is.
Representative Anna Paula Luna
I guess one of the biggest announcements that just happened about maybe 43 minutes ago is that he announced that they're going to be winding down operations. And look, I've been on the phone with the White House from the very beginning. Obviously, being a veteran myself, you know, my husband, for goodness sakes, was shot in Afghanistan. So for me, the last thing I want is boots on the ground. And I would never vote for that. But to be very clear, the President and the White House had never advocated for that as well.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
He said he might do it.
Representative Anna Paula Luna
Well, I think, I think internal conversations with the White House that we're having are maybe different than what is out there. Remember, President Trump has said it. I mean, very, very good came out of his mouth. Using President Trump in private conversations as well as the White House has been very clear that they're not.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
So you would split with him if he put boots on the ground?
Representative Anna Paula Luna
Well, I don't think that he's going to. I mean.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
But you would.
Representative Anna Paula Luna
Yes, you would. But, but I will tell you this, that in my discussions with the White House, that's never been something that's actually being discussed now.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
That is something that could potentially change My mind, I don't want boots on the ground. You don't want boots on the ground either. But I have a lot more confidence in Trump's ability to prevent that from happening than I would with any other leader. Trump is a respected world leader and I think negotiations are going to continue to prove that. But don't think for a second the Iranians rolled over without one last desperate tantrum. Reports confirmed they tried, emphasis on tried, to lob missiles toward our critical base at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. That's our unsinkable aircraft carrier in the middle of nowhere, the strategic jewel that keeps the whole region in check. It's about 4,000 kilometers. Iranian commanders, or whoever is left running that regime, sent two missiles towards the base. One fell short of its target, the other was shot down short of the target as well. Not a single asset was affected, nor any American lives lost. But it did showcase the kind of threat that Iran has become intent on becoming. Everyone said they didn't have missiles capable of reaching that far. They lied because they did. Of course, we all have a right to be concerned, but the bottom line is whether or not you trust the person you voted into office. This five day pause isn't weakness, it's strategy. Trump's been clear he plans to use the time to finalize a deal, hopefully and verify every inch of it and make sure the mullahs understand the consequences if they cheat or don't come to a deal. We've got eyes in the sky, sanctions ready to snap back harder than ever, and military options on the table that make their hair stand on end. Remember, this is the man that got the Abraham Accord signed and has helped end more than a handful of wars over the last year. It's remarkable. And now Iran's staring down the barrel of total isolation and annihilation. That's the Trump doctrine in action. For years, we've watched Iran fund terrorists, attack our troops, threaten Israel and race toward nukes, while American presidents sent them birthday cards and pallets of cash. Trump changed the game the first time. Maximum pressure. Soleimani gone. No new wars. The mainstream media will spend the next week hunting for some angle to call this a failure. They'll cry about human rights while ignoring the Iranian people, finally getting a chance at real freedom. They'll whine about escalation even as gas prices begin to fall and markets celebrate. They're up again today, by the way. But we know better. MAGA knows better. So keep the faith, folks. This five day window is just the beginning. I pray the full deal is coming. Ironclad, verifiable and enforced by American strength. One thing I'm sure of, Iran will never have a nuclear weapon. Not on Donald Trump's watch or yours or mine. And that's the monologue coming up. After the break, I'll bring on Congressman Mark Harris to discuss President Trump linking DHS funding to the Save America act as the partial government shutdown inches close to the 40 day mark. We'll have a lot more on that coming up on America's Voice Live.

Hard to believe that this DHS shutdown is now approaching 40 days. 38 days so far. Remarkable. At the same time, the Democrats continue to fuss over details in the Save America act, including photo ID to vote, the removal of mail in ballots. President Trump says he is now tying funding DHS to the SAVE Act. He says the Senate cannot go home until it's all passed. Look at this.
Donald Trump
So I'm tying Homeland Security into voter identification with picture and proof of citizenship in order to vote. And those two items are the most important thing having to do with Homeland Security security. So it's part. It should be part of the Homeland Security bill. And I'm requesting that the Republican senators do that immediately. You don't have to take a fast vote. Don't worry about Easter going home. In fact, make this one for Jesus, okay? Make this one for Jesus. That's what I tell him. That would be a damn good thing. The most important part of Homeland Security is voter ID and proof of. Of citizenship. Nobody can vote on Homeland Security without voter ID or proof of citizenship. And you can't have Homeland Security without voter ID or proof of citizenship. So we're tying them together.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
All right? Save America for Jesus this time around. Kind of made me laugh there. I got to be honest. Join me to discuss this. Congressman Mark Harris of North Carolina 8. Congressman, nice to see you today. Look, I think it's a great idea. If you guys can't get this done, stick around town. Don't go home for Easter. What do you think?
Congressman Mark Harris
Listen, I think the President is spot on. And I think that Congress has a responsibility to get this act done and to get it done now. I mean, look, I. I flew back into Washington today, and I went through the Charlotte airport. I spoke to some dia, to some TSA agents, in fact, on the other side, just to thank them. They didn't recognize that I was a congressman. And one of them said, you know, we appreciate your appreciation. He said, it's those low IQ people in Washington, D.C. that are creating this mess. And I said, you know, I couldn't agree with you more. And I said, I want to apologize on behalf of my colleagues on the other side who fit your qualification. You just gave. And he said, are you in Congress? I said, yes, I am. And I said, again, I'm thankful for you guys that are getting this job done. You're coming to work day after day. You're not getting paid, but you believe in this country and you believe in what you're doing, and I'm very grateful for you. So the President is On. On track. He's saying exactly what needs to be said, and the Senate needs to act. Four times, Steve, four times we have passed funding for the Department of Homeland Security, Senate over to the Senate, and they cannot get it done. They just keep voting it down. And that is not acceptable.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
Yeah. Using TSA workers, CISA workers, the Coast Guard, FEMA and all the rest for political pawns is inexcusable. I do want to ask you about something here because something remarkable has happened the last 24 or 48 hours. ICE agents went into several of the airports that were having four and five hour waits. One of those, Atlanta's Hartsfield most notably. There are no lines today.
Congressman Mark Harris
None.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
And so you have the Democrats on the other side of the aisle complaining, kicking and screaming, oh, my gosh, airports are gonna be dangerous. ICE is gonna be shooting people in the airports and some other such nonsense that was said. What actually happened is they're very. Being very helpful. They're showing people to which gate they need to be, where they need to get to security, how to get through. They're standing there just kind of assisting and it's working. Look at that. ICE came in and there are no lines in Atlanta, one of the busiest airports in the world. I just watched the video moments ago. Another success story isn't is.
Congressman Mark Harris
I mean, it is. It is efficiency. It is what is being done by this White House. The president recognizing that there's a problem needs to be fixed, and he's coming up with solutions that really work, that are common sense solutions. And I'm just very grateful. When you've all seen the pictures, I hope they show up in Houston next. I hope they show up in Philadelphia and the other airports where I've seen these long lines. I'm very grateful. In Charlotte, we've not had those kind of lines right now. And I'm very thankful for that. But truthfully, the presidency is a problem. He's addressed it in an efficient way, and it is yet another success story.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
It sure is. Now, let's talk about Mark Wayne Mullen for a moment. The now former senator, I guess, of Oklahoma as the new secretary of the Department of Homeland security. He passed 5447, I think it was the final count to Democrats came across and voted for him. So there is light at the end of the tunnel, maybe. But Mark Wayne Mullen coming into a tough spot. I think that they're gonna be very concerned about optics this time. They're still gonna get rid of the worst of the worst. They're gonna find the felons, the drug dealers, the child traffickers, the rapists, the killers, and get them out of here, because that's what the American people want. What do you think of Mark Wayne Mullen?
Congressman Mark Harris
I think Mark Wayne Mullen is going to be an excellent secretary. In fact, I think that the selection of him by the President was a very, very smart move, I think, because we've all seen him in many ways. He's been on television a lot in his time in the Senate. He's built a reputation here in Washington of being a straight shooter. And people trust him. People know that he's going to tell you what's on his mind. And I think at this particular point in time, that's what we need in that position of leading Homeland Security is somebody that folks here have a confidence in. He obviously has the favor of the President, and he's put a lot of trust in Mark Wayne Mullen. And I think he will be that straight shooter, and I think that we'll all be better for it as he steps into that role. And I think you're right. I think we've learned through experiences it was a tough job. Secretary Noem had a tough position she was put in, and I think this hasn't gotten any easier. But I think we've learned as we've gone through it, and I think that Mark Wayne will do a great job.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
So let me ask you about this. While we're talking about Democrats being wrong, they're wrong about ice at the airports. They're also wrong about this. Over the last 24 hours, Donald Trump said, we're having negotiations with the Iranians and people are saying, no, they're not. That's not happening. Iran, that lies about everything from the regime level. So there's nothing happening. Well, we've just learned there, in fact, is a conversation going on between the White House and people inside Iran to end this war. Do you think we can get there? What do you think the next few days might bring?
Congressman Mark Harris
Well, I hope we can get there. And I think the President is making a concerted effort to. To let diplomacy take a major step forward. I mean, the truth is the Iranians can't be trusted. They've lied over and over again. We saw that leading up to the conflict happening. And I think the reality is that they've hidden a lot of things from us. We found out, Steve Witkoff did, that they had the ability with 900 pounds of enriched uranium to be able to make 11 nuclear weapons. And I mean, in a short order, like within a Week's time they would have the capacity of a nuclear weapon. And then over the weekend, we saw them shoot a ballistic missile that when I think it was 2500 kilometers, and I think when you recognize the ability that suddenly all of Europe is awakened when they realize they could be hitting our capitals. That was a big difference. So the reality is that the President does not want to go in and destroy their infrastructure anymore than we've already had. He's made it clear that he's not taking it off the table. We could go in and disrupt their. Their grid and all of those things, but he wants to give peace a chance. And I think this is an important time. And the Iranians, they have nowhere else to turn. They've been decimated from their navy to their air force to everything they've got. We're taking out their missiles, which was the goal. We've taken out the production of those missiles, which is the goal. And I'm very thankful with what we've done
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
well. And we have learned that they have missiles that can reach London, proving that the Iranians lied about that too. Congressman, really appreciate you being here. I know you're on a tight schedule today, so thank you for stopping in.
Congressman Mark Harris
Thank you for having me, Steve. Take care.

Well, it seems Democrat resistance is cracking in some places they can no longer deny. President Trump's policies on crime are working. Radical left winger Steve Cohen, whose district includes Memphis, Tennessee, he's the only Democrat in Congress from Tennessee, admitted on CNN that President Trump's plan to put the National Guard on the streets of Memphis has worked to lower crime. Here he is. I just want to ask you, Trump is taking some credit for bringing down

well familiar with there in Memphis. Do you give him some credit for that? Give him a little bit of credit. We need, we need more policemen. We're about a thousand short in our police force. So having additional FBI agents, having additional DEA agents, having additional alcohol, firearms to back up people. There are other federal law enforcement groups that have been increased their, their, their, their enrollment here in Memphis. They've helped. A little bit of help. How about a lot there, congressman? You are 1,000 police officers short in Memphis. Now, why do you think that is? It's one of the most crime ridden cities in America, run by Democrats, of course, and people like him. There are a thousand police officers short. So the National Guard comes in, crime plummets. Yeah, a lot of credit to the President on that. And not just in Memphis. How about New Orleans? How about Washington, D.C. yeah, it's a successful formula, clearly, by any metric. Meanwhile, President Trump is continuing his America first program even within the military. He announced yesterday that all National Guard members serving in dangerous Democrat cities like Memphis will now receive the same benefits as active military, including active duty pay. Traditionally, those benefits were only available after 30 days of federal activation. Here's the President on this important move.

He's right. They deserve it. Well done, Mr. President. Think about this. Back in 2006, $20,000 bought maybe about 33 ounces of gold at spot prices. Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
Well, in a world where some religions cannot be criticized, apparently Christianity is often mocked by people, protesters, politicians, and even the mainstream media. As is the case with CBS's Margaret Brennan, who posted on Twitter, the Secretary of Defense tells the American public to pray for our troops on bended knee and invoke Jesus name. Even the White House rapid response noted only a leftist reporter would be offended by praying for your troops. Here to discuss our friend, president of Summit Ministries in Colorado Springs, Dr. Jeff Myers. Jeff, nice to see you today. Offended because they said pray for our troops. They're in harm's way. Haven't we done this since before we had a republic?
Dr. Jeff Myers
During the American revolution, Congress issued 16 different proclamations of prayer, and most of those, some of them were prayers for of thanksgiving, but most of them were prayers of fasting and humiliation. I mean, it's not just in praying in Jesus name, it's saying you need to skip some meals and you need to bow the knee and humiliate yourself before God to ask for his divine assistance. That's based on a Psalm of David. And so seems like this is all much ado about nothing. If a Christian doesn't pray in Jesus name, they're not really talking to God. That's the whole idea. Jesus said in John 14, Whatever you ask God in My name, I will do so. For a Christian, praying in Jesus name is a way of saying this prayer is real. It's not just for public consumption. It is to an actual God who will actually do what we ask him to do. In this case, bless our troops.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
And isn't that part of the undermining of the Republic today? Mocking of Christians, mocking of our Judeo Christian foundation, the fact that all 13 colonies had some declaration of faith, nine specifically Christian. I mean, that's what we've learned. If we bother to read our history, Jeff. I mean, that's there. And yet you have people like Brennan mocking us for being Christians. You couldn't do that to a Muslim, you couldn't do that to a Jew. You couldn't do it to anybody. Except, of course, to a Christian in the public square today. Why is that?
Dr. Jeff Myers
Well, I think that's a really good point. A lot of people don't want to acknowledge that Christianity had something to do with the foundation because they're making a worldview decision. They want matters of faith to be separated from public life. Now, that's not actually something that can happen. If you don't have a faith in God, you do have a faith in something else. So you're always bringing your faith to the table. And people who want to deny Christianity are essentially saying, I want to bring my faith to the table, but I don't want yours to be brought to the table. And it's quite hypocritical. But we've got to always remember, if someone says, you can't pray in Jesus name, they're trying to impose their worldview on everybody else.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
I go to this document often and I've hold it up on camera often, and it's well worn. It came from my friends at Hillsdale College, by the way, who would agree with much of our conversation here today, if not all of it. The free exercise thereof. That's the part of the First Amendment which is the envy of the world, by the way, when it comes to free speech and, and free practice of religion and so forth. The free exercise thereof, which is what Secretary Hegseth was doing. And yet Margaret Brennan there mocks him for that. You know what the problem is? I don't think people that sit in her position or many members of Congress could tell you much about this document, Jeff. I think that's a big part of our foundational problems here in 2026. What say you?
Dr. Jeff Myers
I think you're right. I'm glad you hold up the Constitution and you encourage people to read it. The First Amendment to the Constitution, the very first part of that is the freedom to worship. You're not going to have a government church, but you are going to have the ability to freely practice your religion without government constraint. And that doesn't end just because you hold a position in Washington, D.C. i think that's so straightforward. And if you look back at the presidents who talked about Jesus, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, even Barack Obama, it's not like this is a partisan issue. It is people saying, I think Jesus is important. We need to talk about him. And when we pray to God, we should pray in his name, because that's what Jesus said himself is what moves God to act on our behalf. It's hard to imagine, you know, to pray for the safety of our troops.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
You know, one of the presidents that comes to mind for me is John Tyler, not very well known, 10th President, United States. For those of you keeping score at home, he held Bible study in the White House. What do you think they would do on the network news if they held Bible study in the White House? They also had 15 kids. Apparently, when it said go forth and be fruitful, they thought they were only talking to the Tyler family. But that's an aside. The fact of the matter is, he held Bible study in the White House. What would happen today? They'd lose their minds, wouldn't they?
Dr. Jeff Myers
They were a very productive family, the Tylers. But yes, I've been to. I've been to Bible studies at the White House so that it does actually happen. It's only who have an animus against Christianity who think that that kind of thing is awful. The people who are there are not saying it's we're arrogant and we're going to say that our way is the only way. What they're saying is we really need God's help because we are really not nearly as smart as we think we are. And as you and I've talked about before, the people who stand strong in front of humans are the ones who bow their knee in front of God.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
That's exactly right. Providence in leadership in the United States dates back to, like you said, before the Republic and throughout critical times in American history. You and I talk about that a fair amount, and we'll share that with the folks someday soon. But I appreciate you being here. Jeff, always a pleasure. Dr. Jeff Myers from Summit Ministries. Sir. Thank you.
Dr. Jeff Myers
Thanks, Steve.

Well Florida lawmakers have approved a bill that would allow trained college and university employees to carry firearms on campus as part of the school safety efforts. The measure expands the state's Guardian program first created after the 2018 Parkland school shooting. It will include public higher education institutions as well. If signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis, faculty and staff could volunteer to serve as armed guardians after completing 144 hours of training, passing background and psychological screenings, and receiving certification from the local sheriff's department. They would not have police power, but could step in during an active shooter emergency. Join me to discuss this step in what I think is the right direction. Is assistant editor for Campus Reform Will be a genie will listen. I've done some research with Dr. John Lott, and there are a number of high schools and middle schools across this country that allow this in exact thing. Places like Georgia and Tennessee. In those places, there has never been a single school shooting, not one. And so this is a step toward what the statistics tell us to be an effective countermeasure against crazy people with guns. Your thoughts exactly.
Will B. (Assistant Editor for Campus Reform)
Thank you so much for having me. It's great to be here. So as you said, this is for sure a step in the right direction. So Florida has a program right now known as the Guardian Program. It was initiated following the tragic Parkland shooting in 2018. And it allows trained individuals to carry on campus, as you said, 144 hours of training. But this new proposal, backed by Governor Ron DeSantis would expand that to include public universities within the higher education system. This is excellent. I talk to a lot of students all the time as part of the Leadership Institute's campus reform. And campus safety is a major issue for many of them. So it's excellent to see our lawmakers take this into account.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
You know, it reminds me the first college shooting that comes to mind, Virginia Tech. I also had one not far from where I am at Michigan State University. So these things happen. And if there have been people there prepared to fight back, you know, more recently at Old Dominion, the ROTC member that had a knife in his pocket was able to stop the attacker permanently. But if you had a line of defense, because the beautiful thing about this is it could be a janitor, could be a maintenance worker, could be anybody on staff who has taken the time to get trained and certified, background check and everything else. And so unlike having an armed guard with a badge who somebody could target, you don't know who's carrying. That's why it's so effective. Right?
Will B. (Assistant Editor for Campus Reform)
Right. And you know, Democrats will have you believe this idea that to solve the shooting crisis, you need to take all the guns away. I can't think of a worse way that we can handle this situation because all that will do is render Americans with the ability to protect others completely defenseless, to protect those that they love and the people around them. No, what we need to do is have our second amendment rights protected on and off campus. Because what we're beginning to see or what we've been seeing for a while is all these crazy shootings happening everywhere. And Democrats still want to insist that we as taxpaying Americans don't have the right to say, hey, I should be able to carry my firearm on public areas, including university campuses. So this is a great thing to see.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
You know, balance that, and you make a great point, will balance that against what they're seeing from Governor Spanberger and the Democrats in Virginia who in the last couple of days have introduced 15 new draconian gun control laws. They don't understand, they don't get it. You can see that even in red states, it's the blue cities that have violent crime at a rate that's well beyond the average. More people get killed in these cities where they have the most stringent gun control laws. Dc, Chicago, pick your city. This is where the problems exist. But in places where you have a good contingency of armed guards or those schools that have staff and faculty that are armed, you don't have this happen. For example, you don't have mass shootings in Detroit public high schools because they have their own police force there every day. Same thing in Chicago and other major cities, but smaller places have no line of defense at all. And they make them gun free zones, which makes them a soft target. An easy take a place where somebody can go shoot the place up. I like the addition of colleges and universities. This is a step in the right direction and it is common sense. I'm sure the governor will sign it. What do you think?
Will B. (Assistant Editor for Campus Reform)
It for sure is, as we mentioned, a step in the right direction. And you make a good point too. Democrats will not be there to protect you. We also saw in New York, Mayor Zoran Mamdani is attempting to replace the police force with social workers. And I'm proud to live in a state like Florida that respects the second amendment and wants to see our second amendment rights protected on and off campus. And what we're monitoring here at the Leadership Institute's campus reform reform is that universities across the country have steadily replaced their instruction with students and they've compromised safety. They're not pursuing safety for these students. And so we're beginning to see violence all across the country. And that's what We've been monitoring here, you know, at Michigan State University, that was a university that you mentioned earlier, violent crimes spiked when they severed ties with law enforcement. And that's what we've seen here. It's crazy.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
You know, and the thing you just mentioned, Will, I have to circle this. Don't send a police officer to a domestic violence issue. Send a social worker. I mean, what could possibly go wrong with that? Send an unarmed person who wants to sit down and talk about their feelings. I mean, come on, that is not a serious proposal. They think it is, I guess. But that's just creating a chance for more violence and more carnage, isn't it?
Will B. (Assistant Editor for Campus Reform)
100%. And here's the thing. Students are fearing for their lives across the safety and they're perfectly entitled to do so because not only are their lives put at stake on college campuses, we see them put at stake at areas that are historically gathering areas for young people as well. I mean, we just saw this tragic shooting at a bar in Austin, Texas that claimed the lives of several young people. That shooter went in there and killed several people. So students are for sure 100% vindicated and fearing for their lives. And so what we need to see across the country is states looking to Florida for guidance. Because Florida spearheading the way in making campuses safer again. And we need to start seeing this elsewhere. We need to start seeing, we need to see our lawmakers across the country respect our second amendment rights.
Steve Guerrick (Host of America's Voice Live)
I completely agree, Will. We'll see. I'm pretty sure the governor will sign that bill into law and then we'll see how it works in practical application. And hopefully it means no shootings on college campuses in Florida. Of course, we'll have to wait and see. Well, thank you.
Will B. (Assistant Editor for Campus Reform)
Thank you so much.

Well, here we go again. What makes America wonderful? I do it every day because I want to put a smile on your face. I want you to remind you of just how much gratitude you should have for being in this great country of ours. Today's story comes to us from Martin, Michigan, where a fourth grader from Michigan is being recognized as a real life hero after stepping in during a lifetime or death emergency, Logan vangamert was at church when he noticed that a church leader named Tom suddenly collapsed from cardiac arrest. He was having a heart attack right there. As adults rushed in and tried to figure out what was happening, Logan acted immediately. The young student had just learned hands on only CPR at school less than 24 hours earlier. 24 hours. Remembering his training, Logan rushed to Tom's side and began performing chest chest compressions. He kept going for several tense minutes until help arrived. An AED was eventually brought in and used to restart Tom's heart and after a successful surgery and receiving a pacemaker, Tom has since made a full recovery. His quick thinking and bravery have since been widely recognized. Students and teachers filled an auditorium at Martin High School to celebrate him, and he's also received honors from local officials and the American Heart association, and the experience has already inspired his future plans. He now says he hopes to become a doctor someday. What makes America wonderful are moments like this, when an ordinary child steps up without hesitation to save a life, and how everyday Americans can make an extraordinary difference that makes America wonderful. Certainly appreciate you being here. Don't forget to follow me on all the social media platforms x, Facebook, Instagram, getter and TikTok. Podcast: Real America’s Voice | Host: Steve Gruber | Date: March 24, 2026
This episode of "America's Voice Live" covers the latest in U.S. politics and current events through the lens of American values, with a particular focus on President Trump's handling of the Iran conflict, ongoing government shutdown related to the DHS budget, election security, and expanding school safety initiatives in Florida. Steve Gruber leads with a strong, unapologetic tone, celebrating recent "wins" attributed to the Trump administration while criticizing Democratic lawmakers and mainstream media. The episode features interviews with Congressman Mark Harris, Dr. Jeff Myers (Summit Ministries), and Will B. (Campus Reform).
[03:47–12:03]
Steve Gruber spotlights President Trump’s announcement of potential breakthroughs in the war with Iran, emphasizing direct talks with Iranian power players. Gruber contrasts Trump's strategy with what he sees as the previous administration's weakness, stressing "real pressure" and a results-driven approach.
"That's leadership, the art of the deal in real time." – Steve Gruber [06:48]
President Trump (via clip) confirms active negotiations, stating major points of agreement, especially Iran's commitment to not pursuing nuclear weapons.
"They're not going to have a nuclear weapon. That's number one. That's number one. Two and three, they will never have a nuclear weapon. They've agreed to that." – Donald Trump [07:17]
Discussion on regime change, Iran’s missile capabilities, and a current five-day ceasefire. International context: UK PM Keir Starmer acknowledged the talks, with a coalition of over 20 nations supporting reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
"This isn’t some NATO paper pushing exercise. This is coordinated naval power, intelligence sharing and enforcement muscle." – Steve Gruber [09:52]
Gruber extols Trump for lowering oil prices and stabilizing markets.
"Right after the cessation announcement dropped, oil prices took a nosedive, down over 8% in a single trading session. Gas at the pump is starting to trend just a bit lower now." [10:41]
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (clip) discusses her confidence in ending the conflict and her communication with the White House.
"The President and the White House had never advocated for boots on the ground." – Rep. Luna [12:05]
[12:28–16:05]
"This five day pause isn't weakness, it's strategy." – Steve Gruber [13:01]
[20:53–27:31]
The DHS shutdown nears 40 days. Trump ties DHS funding to passing the Save America Act, which includes voter ID and proof-of-citizenship measures.
"I'm tying Homeland Security into voter identification with picture and proof of citizenship in order to vote. And those two items are the most important thing having to do with Homeland Security security." – Donald Trump [21:17]
"Don't worry about Easter going home. In fact, make this one for Jesus, okay? Make this one for Jesus." – Donald Trump [21:47]
Congressman Mark Harris of North Carolina supports the approach, criticizes Senate delays, and shares a TSA worker's criticism of "low IQ people in Washington" obstructing progress.
"The President is on track...Four times, Steve, four times we have passed funding for the Department of Homeland Security and they cannot get it done." – Rep. Mark Harris [22:32, 23:54]
Harris and Gruber review ICE’s intervention at Atlanta’s airport, which eliminated lines and served as an example of “common sense solutions.”
"ICE came in and there are no lines in Atlanta, one of the busiest airports in the world…another success story." – Steve Gruber [24:16]
Discussion on former Senator Markwayne Mullin as the new Secretary of Homeland Security; both agree he’s a “straight shooter” and the right man for the job.
[34:59–36:53]
Coverage of Democratic Rep. Steve Cohen (TN) crediting Trump’s use of the National Guard to reduce crime in Memphis. Gruber expands on this, arguing that Democrat-led cities with shortages of police are seeing real results from federal intervention.
"The National Guard comes in, crime plummets. Yeah, a lot of credit to the President on that." – Steve Gruber [35:29]
Trump announces new benefits for National Guard members serving in high-risk areas, granting active duty pay and benefits.
"So today, I'm pleased to announce...all National Guard members serving on this task force...will receive the same benefits as active duty troops. Because you deserve it." – Donald Trump [36:53]
[42:36–48:32]
Gruber discusses CBS reporter Margaret Brennan allegedly mocking faith-based remarks, and brings on Dr. Jeff Myers to defend the American tradition of praying for troops, tying this back to the nation’s Christian heritage.
"If a Christian doesn't pray in Jesus name, they're not really talking to God...For a Christian, praying in Jesus name is a way of saying this prayer is real." – Dr. Jeff Myers [43:22]
The segment explores the double standard for Christians in public life and the centrality of religious expression to America's founding principles.
"If someone says, you can't pray in Jesus name, they're trying to impose their worldview on everybody else." – Dr. Jeff Myers [45:42]
[54:29–61:17]
Florida set to expand its “Guardian Program,” allowing trained university employees to carry firearms, following 144 hours of training and multiple screenings. Gruber is joined by Will B. (Campus Reform) to discuss this expansion, defending the move as common-sense safety reform.
"This is a step toward what the statistics tell us to be an effective countermeasure against crazy people with guns." – Steve Gruber [54:40]
"No, what we need to do is have our Second Amendment rights protected on and off campus." – Will B. [57:07]
Contrasts are drawn with Democrat proposals for increased gun control and the replacement of police with social workers, which both Gruber and Will B. strongly oppose.
[66:26–68:21]
"What makes America wonderful are moments like this, when an ordinary child steps up without hesitation to save a life, and how everyday Americans can make an extraordinary difference." – Steve Gruber [67:15]
"He made them understand that the era of weakness is over."
– Steve Gruber [07:23]
"He's made it clear that he's not taking it off the table. We could go in and disrupt their grid and all of those things, but he wants to give peace a chance."
– Rep. Mark Harris [27:31]
"The most important part of Homeland Security is voter ID and proof of citizenship. Nobody can vote on Homeland Security without voter ID or proof of citizenship."
– Donald Trump [21:47]
"If you don't have a faith in God, you do have a faith in something else. So you're always bringing your faith to the table."
– Dr. Jeff Myers [44:58]
"Democrats will have you believe this idea that to solve the shooting crisis, you need to take all the guns away. I can't think of a worse way that we can handle this situation."
– Will B. [57:07]
Gruber’s hosting style is assertive, frequently mixing commentary with featured soundbites from political figures. The tone is patriotic, defiant toward "mainstream" media and Democratic leaders, and celebratory of perceived conservative and Trump administration victories. The language is direct, often combative, but also occasionally sentimental—especially during human interest stories.
This episode delivers a packed, fast-paced roundup of right-leaning analysis, prominent news stories, and cultural commentary—all rooted in the language and priorities that define Real America’s Voice.
