I've got one cartel.
Donald Trump
I see him, I see him. I see him.

Live. Breaking news right now here on Real America's Voice. Unfiltered. These people are domestic terrorists and unapologetic. We're here to take a stand for God and country. Does feel good. America's Voice Live starts now. Welcome to America's Voice Live. I'm Steve Guber. Today is Monday. It is the 10th of November in the year of our Lord 2025. Let's get into the day's top stories. As always, thank you for joining me here. Unreal. America's voice. After 40 days and 40 nights, a deal to hopefully end the longest shutdown in US Government history may be in the works. Democrats are absolutely losing their minds to a clear sign that the shutdown was all part of the Democrats plan to oppose President Trump, no matter the effect on Americans. I'll discuss that in great detail today. Also, President Trump welcomed the Syrian President Ahmed Shara to the White House earlier today. Many officials describe this as a historic step toward testing with a Damascus will be drawn back in diplomacy after years of war and isolation. More on that coming up as well. It's a big meeting and then later we tried to warn the people of New York that voting for a Democrat, socialist or communist for short, would have a heavy drawback on their pockets. Well, after winning the elections around, Mamdani didn't waste any time asking his supporters for more money to fulfill his campaign promises of free stuff. Wait a second. He needs money for the free stuff? I'm so confused. All the details and updates coming your way. But first, we start with the shutdown. Like I said, 40 days and 40 nights. The longest government shutdown in history. And regardless of what you may think, one party, the Democrats, voted over and over again to keep the government shut down. They voted over and again to not fund paychecks for the tsa, air traffic controllers and our military, of course, the minority party, holding the entire country hostage, making unreasonable demands along the way. And in fact, they even voted not to fund snap. They screamed about people not being able to eat because they couldn't get their food stamps and their benefits and their EBT cards, but yet they kept voting no. They screamed about people not getting paychecks. While the Republicans put forth special legislation that would have funded the tsa, the air traffic controllers, the military, and other essential jobs. The Democrats said no to that as well. How about this? This is a good bit here. Secretary of Treasury Scott Bessant just smashes George Stephanopoulos. He did this on Sunday before the shutdown came to an end. You've got to see this because you're going to enjoy it. Roll the clip, George. The best. The best way to do it. And look, you were involved in a lot of these in the 90s. And, you know, you basically called the Republicans terrorists. And, you know, you said that it is not the responsible party that keeps the government closed. And so what we need is five brave, moderate Democratic senators to cross the aisle because. Right. It is 52 to 3. 52 to 3. Five Democrats can cross the aisle and reopen the government. That's the best way to do it.
Donald Trump
George, I can disagree with you about the history there, but we don't need a history lesson right now.
Steve Guber
George, if you want to talk about.
Donald Trump
George.
Steve Guber
George. Sir, let's talk about what's happening right now. If you want. I got all your quotes here. I got all your quotes here. George.
Donald Trump
I'm sure you do, but let's talk about the situation.
Steve Guber
Read your book. So you got one purchase on Amazon this week, and that's very much what you said. George. George, I read your book. Your quotes are all there. George. Everything I just said is exactly right. It's in your book, George. Remember that? You wrote a book. You got one sale on Amazon this week, George. You know, George Stephanopoulos worked for Bill Clinton. He was instrumental in the Whitewater affair, trying to cover it up. All that swind and scandalous behavior. He was involved in trying to cover up Monica Lewinsky and that whole fiasco, too. George Stephanopoulos has never been a journalist. Never. He went to work for ABC News and impersonates a journalist. That's the best he can do. And, boy, wasn't that fun. George, I read your book, buddy. Got your quotes right here. You want me to read them to you? Meanwhile, Senator James Lankford says using SNAP benefits as a weapon by the Democrats was despicable. Despicable. I agree with that. Here he is.
Podcast Advertiser/Announcer
What do you say to the allegations made by many Democrats that the Trump administration is simply weaponizing hunger?
Steve Guber
This is the spin, literally, this is the painful spin that people across the country is like, I'm so sick of the politics and the spin. Just fix the problem is 14 times.
Absher Omar
We voted to reopen the government.
Steve Guber
Two weeks ago, we brought a bill that would fully fund SNAP for the entire year. Last week, we brought a bill that would just pay our federal employees.
Absher Omar
Democrats have voted no, no, no, no.
Steve Guber
Every single time. Because the goal for them is leverage. If you listen to things they say over and over again, they say people are suffering, but that gives us more leverage in our, in our, in our debate here. Listen, people don't want leverage. They, they want to get access to food. And I would only say President Trump diverted tariff revenue into the WIC funding Women, Infants and Children's funding to be able to make sure that program stays solid. The problem with SNAP is you would have to take funds away from the disaster aid that's there if we have a hurricane that comes in, or take it away from the school lunch program. So it's this terrible choice the President has to make. Take it away from the school lunch program or deal with snap. He said over and over, just open the government. That's the solution. Just open the government. We're so close now, thanks to eight Democrats who had the courage to say, you know what? We're done here. Couple of the ones that surprised me most. Tim Kaine of Virginia, Hillary Clinton's running mate from 2016, he. But with the Republicans, Dick Durbin of Illinois, the number two Democrat in the Senate, said, you know what? We're done here. Yeah. In that sense, the way to fix government right now, look, we're up against it here. And The Democrats, last time they were in power, when they had 51 seats, they wanted to end the filibuster. Joe Machin and Kirsten Sinemas said, no, we're not going to go along with that. Sinema lost. Manchin retired. There's nobody standing in the way to protect you and this country at this point. This Senator, Roger Marshall, says the way to fix the government is to end the filibuster. I happen to agree. Here he is.
Absher Omar
Every day that this shutdown goes on.
Steve Guber
The more I'm convinced we need to end the filibuster. And as I do my math here, the same Democrats that some of my colleagues are counting on to protect the filibuster are the same Democrats who are.
Absher Omar
Afraid to come across the aisle and open the government. Just two years years ago, every senator, Democrat, Senator that's still in office, that's.
Steve Guber
Here today, voted to end the filibuster.
Donald Trump
Unless you can guarantee to me that.
Steve Guber
The Democrats won't do it, then we.
Absher Omar
Need to seriously consider it. You know, the only other option I.
Steve Guber
Can think of is enshrining it as a constitutional amendment. But this absolutely should be the conversation and the debate today for the Republican caucus. Look, make no mistake, there's not a Democrat now, except maybe John Fetterman. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt here. He might be the only Democrat that would say, no, we're not going to get rid of the filibuster. I say that only because he surprised you and me and a lot of us recently with the way he stood and voted to open the government every single time. Boy, is he hated now. I haven't had more fun reading social media since the day after the election. I mean, they are sharpening the pitchforks out there. They are as mad as a bee's nest getting hit by a lawnmower right now. I mean, the social media people are just fired up. Elon Musk says if the free stuff stops, by the way, the illegals will leave. That'll solve another part of the problem. All this money going to illegals, and the Democrats can say it doesn't happen. But you know better than that, and so do I, and so do they. They know better, too. Here's what Elon Musk said. The reason you have this standoff is because if the hundreds of billions of dollars to create a financial incentive to have this giant magnet to attract illegals from every part of earth to these states, if that is turned off, the illegals will leave because they are no longer Being paid to come to the.
Absher Omar
United States and stay here.
Steve Guber
Wow. And then they will lose a lot of voters. The Democratic Party will lose a lot of voters. And they would have a very difficult job if this is kicked out of reintroducing it into a new bill. Yes. Especially once things start normalizing. Yes. So, like in a nutshell, the Democratic Party wants to destroy democracy by importing voters. And the, you know, the Republican Party disagrees with. And the ruse is that if you don't accept what they're doing, then you're a threat to democracy. Yes. Yeah, it's true. Stop handing out prize packages and the folks will go away. Stop giving them prize packages while they're here and they will go away. Look, now that a deal could be agreed upon to reopen the government, Democrats are losing their minds. Like I said, take a look at what this candidate for Michigan Senator, Mallory McMorrow had to say right after she realized the Democrats were caving in.
Podcast Advertiser/Announcer
We have got to talk about this deal that just passed through the Senate because it is a bad one. Americans cannot afford this deal. I want to set the stage on why the government was shut down and what happened because Democrats were only asking for one thing. They were asking for an extension of ACA subsidies to ensure that your health care premiums didn't skyrocket. And I heard from constituents here in Michigan, it wasn't like health insurance premiums were just going up 10% or 20%. Some of you were reporting seeing your health insurance premiums double, if not triple. I was just up in the Upper Peninsula and I heard from leaders of UP health systems who were concerned that this is just going to lead to people and canceling their health insurance, which means they won't go to doctor's appointments, they won't seek preventative care. They will wait until they are so sick that they end up in the er. Now, the ER is much more expensive and that cost for that uncovered care is going to be spread on all of us, which means that with this deal, all of our health insurance premiums are going to go up. Now the Senate is broken, just like everything else. Donald Trump has broken our institutions and has shown a willingness to callously hurt people, people, no matter what the cost. This is the same administration that denied their own USDA guidance to deny SNAP funding from going out into our communities, even though they did not have to in a government shutdown to use food and hunger as a political weapon. This is something that hurt half a million children in Michigan.
Steve Guber
See, it's dishonest. But what would you expect? Mallory McMorrow, by the way, is the number one candidate for the Democrats to get the nomination to run for U.S. senate in my home state. Frightening isn't was the Democrats voted repeatedly to stop and not fund SNAP 14 times, as I call recall. And there was a special vote as well on just funding snap. The Democrats said no to that, too. So that's a completely dishonest take on it. Democrat Senator of Connecticut Chris Murphy posted on his X account last night after the major breakthrough to reopen the government when it took place. Listen to this. The vote hasn't closed, but it looks.
Absher Omar
Like eight Democrats have joined Republicans to vote for a temporary reopening of the.
Steve Guber
Government for about two months.
Absher Omar
But a bill with no protections to stop the coming health care disaster in this country caused by Donald Trump's premium.
Steve Guber
Increases, nor any provisions to meaningfully stop Trump's corruption and his illegality. You can see how tired I am. I've been here all weekend. I've been working throughout the past few weeks to try to prevent this moment. After the elections on Tuesday, it just became absolutely clear. The American people do not want Democrats to be bullied into submission.
Absher Omar
They want Democrats to fight for their health care.
Steve Guber
They want Democrats to fight Trump's illegality. Bullies gain power when righteous people yield in the face of their wrongdoing. I didn't want this shutdown. I want it to end, but not at any cost. You didn't want this, Chris. Why'd you vote for it 14 times? Why'd you deny pay to TSA, air traffic controllers, the US military? You're tired, Chris. Gosh, a lot of Americans work through the weekend. They're tired, too. Tired of your bs. Tired of you blocking checks to people that work hard and haven't been paid in a month. Chris, go home. This shutdown could have ended on day one. It didn't have to happen because you accomplished zero. Zero. Oh, and here's one more thing. Angus King went on with Joe Scarborough and said that he voted to end the shutdown because it was backfiring. They couldn't beat Donald Trump. Here it is. Well, Joe, you have to go back to what the strategy was at the beginning of the shutdown. There were two goals, both of which I support. One was standing up to Donald Trump. The other was getting some resolution on the ACA premium tax credit issue. The problem was the shutdown wasn't accomplishing either goals. And there was practically, well, there was zero likelihood that it was going to in terms of standing up to Donald Trump. The shutdown actually gave him more power. Exhibit A being what he's done with SNAP and SNAP benefits across the country. Oh, by the way, Joe, you're going to love this. Guess who's getting paid during the shutdown? Not the park rangers or air traffic controllers. The ICE agents. Under special law, under that big awful bill that they passed last summer. The ICE agents are being paid. Nobody else is. So standing up to Donald Trump didn't work. It actually gave him more power. Nobody else is getting paid. Angus, you are. Your Democrat friends in the House got paid. The House got paid. The Senate got paid. ICE agents. You're offended that ICE agents got paid. When you, Angus King, voted against reopening the government time and again, what did you accomplish in the last month? Why didn't you vote to open the government a month ago? What did you get out of it? Embarrassed? Ashamed of yourselves? You accomplished nothing. You held America hostage for nothing. And again, the left wingers on social media are going absolutely bonkers today. It's the most fun. It is. It's the most fun I've had reading social media since the day after the election in November of 2024. It's been a good day. It's been fun and it's going to be a good day for the TSA and air traffic controllers and the military and all the others that have not been paid. And for some of those furloughed workers, you're coming back to work with back pay. So look, Democrats lose, Republicans win. God bless America. Yeah. Coming up after the break, I'll bring on former Congressman Lt. Col. Allen west to continue the discussion of the potential deal to end the longest shutdown in American history. Stay with us here on america's Voice live.

All right.
Steve Guber
On the north Lawn of the White House, Kevin Hassett, the director of the National Economic Council, has just stepped to a microphone. Let's drop in and see what he has to say about the end of the shutdown.
Absher Omar
That's something that you can do an explainer of on your own. It depends on where people decide to stop. Very often when there's something like this, then you don't give it to Mark Zuckerberg or something like that. So it really depends on where the knobs are. And right now I can't give you guidance on that.
Podcast Advertiser/Announcer
Do you have an estimate, though, that you're working?
Absher Omar
We have estimates of all the different options. I'll go this way and then I'll come this way across.
Donald Trump
When the president says that grocery prices are down, what numbers is he basing.
Steve Guber
That off, given that's not true and.
Donald Trump
Even Marjorie Taylor Greene is acknowledged that it's not accurate?
Absher Omar
Mr. Right. Well, I guess the question is inflation is down. It's one of those things that very often when people talk about economics, they slip derivatives, as we say. And so the point is that inflation is way down. It averaged 5% under Joe Biden. It's running at about 2.5% right now. And the thing, though, is that people's purchasing power dropped by more than $3,000 because of the inflation in the last four years. It's up by about $1,200 this year. And so purchasing power is improving, but we haven't closed the entire gap. And that's why people still feel the pain of the higher prices are up. Well, not everything. I mean, egg prices are down. We used to talk a lot about those. In fact, it was your first question here at the White House. Why haven't you covered the lower egg prices also prices?
Donald Trump
We certainly have covered that energy as well. But grocery prices are up about 1.4%.
Absher Omar
Since Trump took Right, which is a big decline, a big decline in the rate of inflation of grocery prices. Inflation is down.
Podcast Advertiser/Announcer
Does the president support reversing the firings under the shutdown and does he support.
Absher Omar
Guaranteeing back pay right now? The president is grateful for the people, the cooler heads that have opened the government. We're grateful that we're not going to have hopefully massive flight disruptions during the Thanksgiving break, which was a caused massive economic disruption. And he's looking forward to what the final deal is, but he supports the final deal. There has been a lot of I guess question about how much revenue the tariffs are going to bring in and how much would have to be paid back if they fall. What is that number? How much money are these tariffs bringing in from our revenue? Well, if you go to Customs and border Patrol they update that number almost every month, maybe sometimes quicker than that. And I think the latest number for so far this year is around 200 million. But you could look it up at the exact number but as you guys foredoo and that's just for this year. So you're going to have. But as you guys forecast that what's.
Steve Guber
The expectation for what would come in.
Absher Omar
Like for this fiscal year? Yeah, I guess OMB has the latest forecast on that. But I just looked at the Customs and Border patrol numbers and it was about 200 million.
Steve Guber
Just to follow up on that question.
Absher Omar
Just does the president support back pay.
Steve Guber
For all federal workers?
Absher Omar
The president supports the deal that gets the government opened. He's been 100% supported.
Donald Trump
Would that include back pay? Would you.
Absher Omar
He guaranteed back pay for all the. I think everyone's going to get back pay. It looks like it's part of the deal. Kevin, how big of a hit, financial hit have the airlines taken in your.
Donald Trump
Estimation due to the shutdown?
Absher Omar
You know, I haven't seen estimates yet but it's a serious, it's a serious hit. As an economist, since we've seen about 10% reduction in flights, you might assume that their revenue is down by about that much. Although sometimes it's not as big because if there's fewer flights they might have higher ticket crisis. But I'll get a report on it and get back to you.
Steve Guber
You asked about the 50 year mortgage thing on Fox. How seriously is that being considered by the administration?
Absher Omar
Again the issue is that under President Biden mortgage rates went up by about 4 percentage points and that about doubled the typical monthly mortgage payment. And because of that we've seen like a real sharp production and first time home buyers especially and also a reduction in people's willingness to move. And it's something that we take very seriously as a policy challenge. And extending the length of mortgages could reduce monthly payments by hundreds of dollars. And it's something we're taking very seriously.
Steve Guber
Wouldn't that be something that is being.
Absher Omar
Studied as an imminent change or is.
Steve Guber
It more deliberative at this point?
Absher Omar
I guess there's a lot of legal analysis but if it requires legislation and then it wouldn't be able to, wouldn't that be the Same as essentially renting. And how would homeowners build equity? No, it wouldn't because you would basically build equity first of all a little slower because it's 50 years instead of 30 years or 15 years. 15 year fixed is often a great way to build early equity. But don't forget that you get the equity if the price goes up. And on average prices have tended to increase. And so I don't think that the absence of equity. Equity is a serious concern about this. And the bottom line is that we need to. The average age of a first time homebuyer has gone up by about 10 years in just a few years. That is something that we're very serious about addressing. Okay, thank you guys. Is this president actually considering a national housing emergency declaration?
Steve Guber
Well, there you have it. Kevin Hassett, he is the director of the National Economic Council, taking a few questions. As the government shut down is whining to an end. Eight Democrat senators have come across to the Republican side, come to their senses, decided to break away from ideologies to get the government open again. Thankfully, they could have done this from the beginning. A procedural vote held Last night saw 60 days and 40 days for a package that would reopen the government and ensure key functions to keep operating until the 30th of January and hopefully it'll make it to the president's desk to get signed into effect. Furthermore, Senate Majority Leader John Thune has promised Democrats a chance to draft a health care bill that would address health care costs for America along with a future hearing only if the government does actually reopen. Join me to discuss former Congressman and Executive Director of the American Constitutional Rights Union, Lieutenant Colonel Allen West. Colonel, nice to see you on a Monday.
Lt. Col. Allen West
Always a pleasure to be with you. And first, I want to say happy 250th birthday anniversary to the United States Marine Corps.
Steve Guber
Well done. It is. And what a legacy the Marine Corps has here and around the world. Thank you for that. Colonel, did the Democrats get anything, anything out of 40 days and 40 nights of shutting down the American government?
Lt. Col. Allen West
No, they got absolutely nothing other than the fact that they inflicted pain upon the American people. And they were just pawns in their insidious chess game where they sought to have leverage to get what they wanted. And since everyone is talking about this word affordability, let's be very honest. And I watched the clip of that Democrat senatorial candidate from Michigan. This is all about the Affordable Care act not being affordable. That's why we have to have these subsidies. And these subsidies would be going to the insurance companies. And I thought that the left did not like the insurance companies. But what we now come to see is that there's nothing good about Obamacare. The premiums are going out of control because there is no means by which you can rein in the insurance companies. And they continue to get subsidy after subsidy after subsidy. The American people are paying for this. And so I think that even President Trump said, why don't we just send the money directly to the people and to the insurance agencies. But they got nothing from this other than the fact that they have a lot of egg on their face and now they have the Marxist base upset with them.
Steve Guber
They certainly do. Look, the insurance companies have been setting record profits for the last several years, record profits year after year. And look, my insurance premiums have gone up double digits every year. The Biden administration. So to assume this is a Republican problem is a joke. Look, the Affordable Care act was never about affordability or care. It was an act, an act to get us to single payer health care. That's all it's about. It's about, you know, Medicaid for all or whatever you want to call it. The idea to give the money directly to American citizens in health savings accounts, I think is brilliant. It would make the insurance companies compete for your business, give you better products for a lower price. And by the way, it would take a lot of money away from the insurance companies who everybody seems to have a dislike for. So, I mean, to me, it's a pretty good opening conversation, a pretty good opening salvo from the president. You agree, obviously?
Lt. Col. Allen West
Oh, I absolutely agree with this. And the thing that we have to come to understand is that Obamacare got rid of health savings accounts. They took that ability for the American people to take care of themselves financially and have money that would be carved out tax free for their health care concerns away from them. So again, this thing about Obamacare was, as you just stated, a means by which we can say we're going to force the American people into a senior, senior single payer system because right now the free market is too expensive, it's not affordable. But we have to continue to give subsidies to the insurance, these insurance companies, which again, I thought that the Democrats and the left especially did not like. So they never had anything to stand on. This whole thing about kicking people off of Medicaid, well, those are illegal immigrants who should not be on Medicaid in the first place.
Steve Guber
Completely agree, sir. All right, so these eight Democrats, man, Chuck Schumer is going to get a primary challenge now I don't know if AOC can beat him throughout New York, but he apparently was pulling strings behind the scenes. And AOC is going completely meltdown mode right now on social media. In fact, as you might have heard me say, I have not had more fun reading social media since the day after the election in November. I mean, these people are apoplectic. It's kind of entertaining. The war is not between Democrats and Republicans. There is a circular firing squad right now, isn't there?
Lt. Col. Allen West
Yeah. And what is interesting is, you know, from the time when I was up there in Congress, you never saw the Democrats publicly having this type of civil war like you see right now. And who would have ever thought, and you brought him up earlier, who would ever thought that the reasonable man in the Democrat Party in the Senate would be John Fetterman? And now he's public enemy number one for the progressive socialist left, the Marxist left in the state of Pennsylvania. But he's doing the right thing. And I think that he's built up his equity, if I can take that from Kevin Hassett, he's built up his equity as a solid, principled man.
Steve Guber
He certainly has. All right, so as you look at this, the Democrats got nothing out of it. There are plans out there. There's no question. If you look at Mamdani's win in New York City, it's about economics now. I think it's the wrong plan. He got 81% of young women, for example, to vote for him on the idea that everything's too expensive. Okay, so Republicans do need to pay attention to that. They do need to pay attention to the fact that everything is seemingly out of reach for young people. Rent, home ownership, groceries oftentimes. And they work hard. And this is not just true of young people. A lot of people out there making six figures right now that are working harder than they ever had, wondering if they're going to make the bills at the end of the month. There's a lot of concern out there right now.
Lt. Col. Allen West
No, you're absolutely right. But let's be honest. Mamdani only won with 50.4% in New York City, pretty much so a blue city. But, you know, I went to East Berlin not once, but twice back as a young officer in the United States Army. I saw rent controlled housing. I saw government controlled grocery stores and department stores. That's not what we want here in the United States of America. And I think that there comes a time with these young people that don't want to listen to some of us old heads about what socialism and Marxism is, they're going to touch that hot stove. They have touched the hot stove and they're going to get burned by it. But what we have to do is come up with the right free market solutions to making sure that people can have affordability, people can be able to go out and do what is necessary. But turning everything over to the government, to someone like Mamdani, or to the progressive left of the Democrat Party, that's not the way to go. And also, I agree with that other point that you made. This is all about keeping illegals here in the United States of America. Because don't Forget Kamala Harris, 12 of the states that she won, no voter ID. Yeah.
Steve Guber
And back to New York City, foreign born voters went to Mamdani by 62%, 23% Cuomo, 12% to Sliwa. So foreign born voters vote for Democrats, generally speaking. They know that that's all part of the game that they put together. There's no question about it. But, but the Republicans, as I say, and I want to stay with this, cannot lose sight of this. I just saw a study that says that Americans have less faith in the economy today than they have since 1951. People are concerned and Republicans need to pay attention to that and they need to get some things, you know, figured out on that message. We'll see how it plays out. I'll give you the last word.
Lt. Col. Allen West
No, I think it's absolutely important. You know, lots of times people don't understand the foreign policy and national security, but they definitely understand the kitchen table issues when they go to the grocery store, when they go to the gas pump. And I think it's very important for President Trump and his domestic policy team to make this a priority effort, a priority target to making sure that Americans can have affordability, not socialist affordability, with true free market American affordability.
Steve Guber
There you go, Colonel, always a pleasure seeing you, sir. Thank you for being here today.
Lt. Col. Allen West
Thank you. God bless, and God bless our United States Marine Corps.
Steve Guber

All right. Well, it's been a very interesting few weeks, hasn't it in this country. Democrats were on top of the world here just last week and now seems they're not. But that's the way we are. Ever since zohramandani came on the scene, we've tried to warn New Yorkers about his policies, how their implementation would make sense from a logistics point of view and end up costing them tremendous amounts of money and a lot of other things. Mamdani frankly pandered to the desperation people by promising government run grocery stores a tax increase only for the so called rich and of course a $30 minimum wage. Well, his supporters got so caught up in the sugar coated promises they didn't Stop to think about who would be funding these policies. Thankfully, Mamdani himself cleared it up. Take a look.
Donald Trump
Because New Yorkers deserve a government they Can Trust.
Absher Omar
On January 1, I will be your mayor.
Donald Trump
New Year's Day and a new era for this city.
Absher Omar
Oh, and one more thing. Remember how I told you a few months ago to stop sending us money?
Donald Trump
You can start again.
Absher Omar
This transition requires staff, research and an infrastructure that can meet this moment. And it will be made possible by the people who built and believe in this movement.
Steve Guber
Ah, yes, Just send more money. Weird. Join me to discuss is a Republican strategist, Absher Omar. Sir, thank you for being here.
Absher Omar
My pleasure, Steve. But first of all, to start off the video is hilarious. Zoran says we don't need any money. Stop sending money to the campaign. We have everything we need. And then as soon as he wins, he says, by the way, I need money to start the transition for the city of New York before I come back and ask for even more money to put together these pet projects. This is just absolutely hilarious. Before he even starts taking control of the city.
Steve Guber
But I need to give some background, I need to give some background on you so people understand you. You were a Democratic Socialist. You were part of that whole Bernie Bro for a while. And so. Well, I was in college apparently.
Absher Omar
Yeah. When I was in college, I was a dues paying member of the Democratic Socialists of America at Iowa State University. And within party politics in Iowa, I found myself becoming one of the vice chairs of the Iowa Democratic Party. And then shortly after, Senator Sanders appointed me to be Iowa political coordinator for his 2020 presidential run and then subsequently political director for Minnesota, Michigan and Illinois. So I have a unique insight into the structure of the Democratic Socialists of America. It is a bizarre, absurd, topsy turvy mind think that's happening within that circle where economic realities, where economic theories do not exist. It's an abomination of the American economic model. And the idea is here that voters at the end of the day will vote for someone who's going to materially benefit their lives, make sure that their communities are safe, that their children have access to great education. And the socialists believe they can win over voters by promising them handouts. And conservatives, on the other hand, are looking at lifting the economy and creating opportunities for Americans to build personal wealth and not depend on the state or society for the cost of living. What we saw in New York is.
Steve Guber
Let me ask you this, Abshir. When the free stuff doesn't show up, when the government run grocery stores don't show up. The governor just said, Kathy Hochul just said, look, there's not gonna be free buses because we can't afford that. The whole agenda, even though she says I support him, it's falling apart already because there's no money coming out of Albany for all these pet projects and pipe dreams.
Absher Omar
Not only that, if you take a look at the transition team that Mamdani has put together, this is a socialist dream team. And the person running the transition team, Lina Khan, the former FTC chair, is a multimillionaire. Her parents are CEO executives. You have the so called elite of this country now cosplaying as socialist warriors.
Steve Guber
Who are trying to lift him off. I apologize, I have to jump in here because Donald Trump is in the Oval Office with a collection of folks. We're going to jump in and see what he is talking about. Here it is.
Absher Omar
Thank you.
Donald Trump
Don't tell Monica. She's a strong leader. She just made television.
Absher Omar
She's tough, sir.
Donald Trump
Thank you very much, everybody. It's an honor to be here for our friend Sergio, Sergio Gore. Today we're thrilled to be in a swear at for the next ambassador to India and special envoy to south and Central Asia, which is a big deal and Sergio will handle it better than anybody could handle it. So I just want to congratulate Sergio. Come here. Minister Sergio. So we are honored to be joined this afternoon by our Great Vice President J.D. vance. Thank you, J.D.
Steve Guber
J.D.
Absher Omar
Vance.
Donald Trump
Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Dr. Marco. Secretary Scott Bessen, who's doing a great job. Attorney General Pam Bondi and U.S. attorney Janine Piro. I see D.C. is a very safe place, you know. Right. Very safe place. And we got to keep.
Steve Guber
Yes.
Donald Trump
Along with Senators Lindsey Graham, Jim Risch, Tommy Tuberville and Katie Britt. And I will give you an exemption because you know, they're supposed to be right now in the Senate. And if you guys want to sneak out, nobody will see you leaving. Do you want to do that, Lindsey, or do you want to stay? Okay, you sneak out. Anything. Thank you. We don't want to screw up any votes, do we? Amen.
Absher Omar
Amen.
Donald Trump
Okay, thank you. Thank you for being here. But we're also very honored to be joined by Mrs. A very special woman who I unfortunately have seen a lot of lately on television for the wrong reasons. A woman who is great, who Charlie said is the greatest of anybody he knew. Best friends and best everything, Erica Kirk. So thank you very much. And as Erica knows, another special woman, Laura Ingraham. Where is Laura? She's Here someplace. Thank you, Laura. And many other true American patriots. Great people. One year ago, Sergio played a key role in helping us secure the most consequential presidential election victory in the history of our country. And from the day we won, he immediately began working to staff our new administration with the most talented team of any president. And we have had a great team. A couple of mistakes there, Sergio, but we won't mention that. Good God. We got rid of them pretty quick. We found a couple we weren't thrilled with. We got them out of here. But as my director of office and presidential personnel from the early days of transition, certain Sergio's leadership was essential to fulfilling the historic mandate entrusted to us by the American people. And that's what we've done. With the help here at the White House, we set new benchmarks for presidential staffing. Nobody has done it, I think, hopefully better, but certainly quicker. But I don't think anybody has done it better. We have great people surrounded by the people that really do love and like and respect. But we hired 4,000 appointees across every federal department in record time, including over 1,000 appointments on day one. So before we even got started, we had over 1,000 people working for us. Under Sergio's leadership, federal agencies and departments reached staffing levels of 95%. And it's faster than any administration in modern day history. And prior to his work on behalf of my 2024 campaign, Sergio had tremendous success as an entrepreneur in the publishing world. He even published my book, which went to number one. I was very happy because if it didn't, I wouldn't probably he wouldn't be here right there. But now I'm trusting Sergio to help strengthen one of our country's most important international relationships. And that's the strategic partnership with the Republic of India. Yeah, it's a big deal. India is home to one of the world's oldest civilizations, the largest country in the world, actually, and it's got over 1.5 billion people. And we have a fantastic relationship with the Prime Minister Modi. And Sergio has only enhanced that because he's become already friendly with the Prime Minister. Knowing that Sergio is going to be the ambassador, they would call constantly to say, let's get to know the this man. And they like what they see. So I know you're going to have a great success over there. It's a very important relationship, but it's also the fastest growing middle class. And it's an important economic and strategic security partner in the Indo Pacific region. It's an amazing country. Actually, 1.5 billion people. China has 1.4 billion. Those are two big countries. As Ambassador Sergio will work to fortify our country's countries, bond, promote investments in key US Industries and technologies, increase American energy exports, and expand our security cooperation. And, you know, we're making a deal with India, a much different deal than we had in the past. So right now, they don't love me, but they'll love us again. We're getting a fair deal. Just a fair trade deal. We had pretty unfair trade deals. They're very good negotiators, sir. Just. You have to take a look at that, if you would, please.
Steve Guber
Please.
Donald Trump
But we're getting close, Scott. I think we're pretty close to doing a deal that's good for everybody, right? In the old days, do you think Biden would ask that question? I don't think so. Let's see. How are we doing with India? He didn't know about India. He didn't know a damn thing. But that's okay. We had him. Likewise, in Sergio's role as special envoy to south and Central Asia, he'll be a key emissary to a very important group of nations at the crossroads between east and West. And last week, I was honored to host the leaders of five Central Asian countries here in the White House, and Sergio will be helping with all of that. We had an amazing meeting the other night at the White House, and I'm confident that Sergio will do an outstanding job and make our country and all of his friends very proud. But I'm very proud of Sergio. I've known him for a long time, and he's a great guy, and most people love him. Some people don't like him so much. I'll be honest with you. Sergio. That's it. Some people, when they don't like Sergio, they don't like him. But when they like him, they like him more than anybody. But most of them really are the like category. And I just want to say that I think he's going to be an outstanding representative for the United States of America, and it's a big deal. Being the ambassador to India is a big deal. So, Sergio, congratulations. I know you're going to do a fantastic job. Thank you very much. Now, Mr. Vice President, swear.
Absher Omar
Okay, swear him in here.
Steve Guber
Right hand up. Thank you.
Absher Omar
Thank you, judge. I appreciate the assistance. We have such a crowd here. You think we're swearing in a vice president, sir? Okay, please repeat after me. I, Sergio Gore.
Donald Trump
I, Sergio Gore.
Absher Omar
Do solemnly swear. Do solemnly swear that I will support and defend The Constitution of the United States. That I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Against all enemies, foreign and domestic. That I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same.
Donald Trump
That I will bear true faith and.
Absher Omar
Allegiance to the same. That I take this obligation freely. That I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation. Without any mental reservation. Or purpose of evasion.
Lt. Col. Allen West
Or purpose.
Absher Omar
Purpose of evasion. And that I will well and faithfully and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties.
Donald Trump
Discharge the duties.
Absher Omar
Of the office on which I'm about to enter. Of the office of which I'm about to enter. So help you God. So help me God. Congratulations, Mr. President. This is an honor of a lifetime. I want to thank first you.
Steve Guber
What you have done for this country.
Absher Omar
Before you came back in the trouble that this country was facing. I mean, frankly, we were screwed. What you have achieved in 10 months has been historic, has surpassed any other presidency, and I fully believe what you will achieve in the next three years will never be beaten. So it has been an honor to serve you.
Donald Trump
I've been at your side for many years.
Absher Omar
I will continue to be there, and it's just an incredible honor, and I look forward to enhancing the relationship between our two nations.
Donald Trump
But again, thank you for entrusting me.
Absher Omar
With this position, and I look forward to doing a great job for you.
Donald Trump
Thank you very much. Sergeant.
Steve Guber
Would you like to say something? Well, this is.
Absher Omar
Thank you, sir. First of all, congratulations, Sergio. You're going to be a great ambassador, a great representative to the country of India, which the President and I both love. As a lot of you know, Sergio was a critical piece of what made the first 10 months such a great success. Obviously, the president's leadership is the most important thing, but you can't do a whole lot unless you've got good people around you. And Sergio did as much as anybody to ensure that the White House was staffed with the very best people, people who are loyal to the president, loyal to the country, and loyal to the agenda that we're trying to educate, implement. So thank you all for being here. I think it's a great testament to you, Sergio, that you've got multiple cabinet secretaries, Erica Kirk, the President of the United States. This crowd will not turn out for just anybody, but it turned out for Sergio Gore. You're going to do a hell of a job, man.
Steve Guber
Congratulations. Just to echo What Sergio said, Mr.
Absher Omar
President, you've done a lot for this country, more than any other president has in such a short period of time. And part of that is putting together a phenomenal team. And I know Sergio was instrumental in helping you achieve that. And so we think he'll do a great job. This is a very impressive collection of people. There are almost 1.5 billion people in the Oval Office right now. But to reflect. But Sergio is going to do a phenomenal job. Those of us who've known him, so many of his friends that are here, and family as well, that know how hard he works, 24 hours, seven days a week.
Steve Guber
And that's what it takes to work.
Absher Omar
In this administration because of how much you're pushing our country forward around the world and here at home. And we know Sergio will do a great job. So congratulations, Sergio.
Steve Guber
You're going to do a phenomenal job.
Lt. Col. Allen West
Thank you.
Donald Trump
Thank you. Jeanine, please.
Podcast Advertiser/Announcer
Well, I'm very proud to be here with Sergio. My friend has been my friend for many years.
Donald Trump
He is someone who is loyal, he.
Podcast Advertiser/Announcer
Is trustworthy, and he works as hard as anyone I know.
Steve Guber
And, Mr. President, there is in this.
Donald Trump
Room a group of people who love you, who believe in you, and who.
Podcast Advertiser/Announcer
Are so proud to be in this.
Absher Omar
Oval Office and to be part of.
Donald Trump
This amazing day, because you have changed.
Absher Omar
The course of America.
Donald Trump
You.
Podcast Advertiser/Announcer
And thank you, Sergio, for what you've done.
Donald Trump
God bless you both. Well, he was also very good friends with a guy named Charlie. We just knew him as Charlie. And his wife, who he loved so much, is here with us. And maybe you know how close they were together. Maybe, Erica, you could say a couple of words, please. Honor to sir.
Steve Guber
Charlie loved you.
Podcast Advertiser/Announcer
It's hard not to get emotional, because I know that he would have been.
Absher Omar
The first phone call when he found.
Podcast Advertiser/Announcer
Out that you were going to be taking this position. And the way that I was able to witness the two of you work together for years and to champion and support the President was absolutely humbling to witness.
Steve Guber
And I am so proud of you.
Podcast Advertiser/Announcer
And Charlie is going to be with you every single day in spirit.
Steve Guber
And I will be praying for you.
Donald Trump
Every day, because I know that this.
Podcast Advertiser/Announcer
Is just the beginning of an incredible opportunity for you.
Absher Omar
And, sir, thank you for allowing Sergio.
Podcast Advertiser/Announcer
To have this beautiful moment.
Donald Trump
Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you, Darren. And that man's watching over us right now, right?
Steve Guber
Okay.
Donald Trump
Any questions?
Absher Omar
You mentioned the senators that are here.
Podcast Advertiser/Announcer
Mr. President, do you personally approve of.
Absher Omar
The deal that's happening right now, Capitol Hill, to end the office?
Donald Trump
Well, it depends what deal we're talking about. But if it's a deal I heard about, that's certainly you know they want to change the deal a little bit, but I would say so. I think based on everything I'm hearing, they haven't changed anything. And we have support from enough Democrats and we're going to be opening up our country. It's too bad it was closed, but we'll be opening up our country very quickly.
Podcast Advertiser/Announcer
Mr. President, that deal does reverse the mass firings your administration put through during the shutdown. Did you sign off on that and.
Absher Omar
Will you abide by that if this passes?
Donald Trump
Well, I will be abide by the deal. The deal is very good. We're not going to be giving the $1.5 trillion to people that came in from jails and from, you know, the gangs and drug dealers and all of these others that they wanted to be given health care, which would have hurt our healthcare system. I hope that we're going to be able to have a healthcare where Lindsey and I were discussing it, Jim and I were discussing it and Katie, we discussed it. We want a healthcare system where we pay the money to the people instead of the insurance companies. And I tell you, we're going to be working, working on that very hard over the next short period of time. Where the people get the money. We're talking about trillions and trillions of dollars. Where the people get the money. Yes, please. Syria President, sir, did you update us on your meeting? Did you come to any agreements, say it with the leader of Syria you had earlier. Did you come to any agreements to this? Well, I've had an agreement with him. He's a very strong leader. He comes from a very tough place.
Steve Guber
Place.
Donald Trump
And he's a tough guy. I liked him. I get along with him. The president, the new president of Syria. And we'll do everything we can to make Syria successful because that's part of the Middle East. We have peace now in the Middle East. First time that anyone can remember that ever happening. And as you know, Syria is a very big. A very big part of the Middle east, very important part. If you look back at Syria, for years they had the doctors, the lawyers, they had so many of the great intellects. It was. It's an amazing place with great people. And we want to see Syria be successful along with the rest of the Middle East. So I have confidence that he'll be able to do the job. Absolutely.
Steve Guber
How close are you to a deal on a trade deal with India? Are you willing to consider lowering the current tariff rate?
Donald Trump
Well, right now the tariffs are very high on India because of the Russian oil and the. They've stopped doing the Russian oil. It's been reduced very substantially. Yeah, we're going to be bringing the tariffs down.
Steve Guber
What kind of level are we talking about here?
Donald Trump
I mean, at some point, no, at some point we're going to be bringing them down without tariffs. We would be, this country would be in such trouble as they were for many years. That's why we owe $38 trillion. And one of the things we're going to do, we're going to issue a dividend to our middle income people and lower income people people about $2,000. And we're going to use the remaining tariffs to lower our debt. We're going to be lowering our debt, which is a national security thing. So we're doing a lot of good work. And the numbers were reported so incorrectly. The real numbers are trillions of dollars have been taken in or gotten in terms of investment from the tariffs. And so if that were ever reversed, it would be a disaster, frankly. It would be a national security problem for our country. And nobody thinks it's going to be reversed. I think we had a very good court case, as you know, it's before the Supreme Court right now. But if that were ever reversed, you know, people say, oh, it's a billion dollars. Some people said, oh, it's 2 billion. Well, that obviously we can handle very easily. But this is trillions of dollars we're talking about in terms of the tariff income and all the investment income that's come into our country. You know, we have more than, I would say right now more than $18 trillion. The biggest number ever is a tiny fraction of that for any country. China, the United States, the biggest number of, if you look at the past administration, Biden, he did less than a trillion in four years. We're over 18 trillion by the time my first year ends. We're going to have over $20 trillion of investment coming into the United States. It's unheard of. We have AI factories. We're leading China by a lot of, we have cars and, you know, car plants coming in by more than we've ever had built before. All of that would go away if we lose the tariff case. So all of it would go away. So they're not giving the right numbers. It would be an economic disaster. It would be a national security disaster if we lost the case in the Supreme Court.
Absher Omar
That you've been talking about for months. This is going to directly positively impact millions of Americans. Why was this important for you to do?
Steve Guber
Americans.
Donald Trump
So I've been talking about it for a long time. The dividend to people that, you know, have suffered under the Biden administration. So Biden had the highest inflation in history. And we now are at a very low point. We're going to be hitting one and a half percent pretty soon. So we're at a low point. And. And he was a high point. We did that. Food prices are way down. It's all coming down. And the biggest decrease, of course, is energy. And you know, as goes energy, goes everything else, because when energy comes down, the oil, the electric, but we, I think you're going to see $2 gasoline or something very close to that. In fact, we're already in the twos, but I think you're going to be seeing very soon $2 gasoline. That's like the equivalent of a massive tax cut. But in addition to that, the Great Big Beautiful bill gives you a very, very big tax cut. And then you have no tax on tips, no tax on Social Security and no tax on overtime for the middle income and for even, frankly, anybody. But you have no tax. And the no tax on tips has turned out to be a tremendous thing. But when you think no tax on tips, no tax tax on overtime, and no tax on Social Security for our seniors, it's the great Big beautiful bill, which has been mischaracterized, but now people, even they don't want to talk about it because it's so good. The enemy. Because it's so good for everybody. It's the greatest piece of legislation ever passed in the history of our country in terms of size. And hence it's called. They call it the Big Beautiful Bill or the One Big Beautiful. I call it the Great Big Beautiful Bill. It's a. An amazing bill for the middle class. It's Amazing Bill.
Steve Guber
This is an iHeart podcast.
This episode of America’s Voice Live is a high-energy, opinion-driven exploration of the resolution to the historic U.S. government shutdown. Host Steve Guber dissects the political battle lines, focusing predominantly on the role and tactics of the Democratic Party during the 40-day standoff. With reporting, commentary, and live guests including former Congressman Lt. Col. Allen West and Republican strategist Absher Omar, the episode navigates the end-stage legislative wrangling, economic anxieties, health care battles, immigration, and a special look at New York City politics. The show also features live coverage of White House events, including the swearing-in of Sergio Gore as Ambassador to India, with remarks from President Trump and his administration. Throughout, the episode maintains a decidedly conservative populist tone, framing current events as a struggle for American values.
Background:
The U.S. endured the longest government shutdown in its history, lasting "40 days and 40 nights." The episode frames the shutdown primarily as a Democratic maneuver to oppose President Trump.
Host’s Stance:
Steve Guber repeatedly blames Democrats for prolonging the shutdown by voting against various proposals to fund essential services, including SNAP, TSA, and the military.
Key Votes & Political Shifts:
A breakthrough occurred as eight Democratic Senators crossed the aisle, enabling a temporary reopening of the government. Notable among them: Tim Kaine and Dick Durbin.
Discussion on the Filibuster:
The filibuster debate resurfaces, with some Republicans now advocating for its removal to expedite key legislation.
Food Aid and ‘Weaponizing Hunger’:
The struggle over SNAP and WIC funding is highlighted as symbolic of deeper partisan divides.
"President Trump diverted tariff revenue into the WIC funding… to make sure that program stays solid." (06:23)
Democrats accused of using SNAP as “leverage.” (06:15)
Inflation, Purchasing Power, and the Middle Class:
Kevin Hassett, National Economic Council Director, addresses ongoing economic pain:
"Purchasing power dropped by more than $3,000 because of the inflation in the last four years. It's up by about $1,200 this year." (19:17)
First-time homebuyer age has risen, with a policy discussion on the potential for 50-year mortgages to restore affordability. (21:57–22:35)
Tariffs and Fiscal Policy:
Trump administration claims triumphs regarding tariffs, including their use to pay down national debt and finance dividends to middle- and lower-income Americans.
Democratic Concerns:
Democratic voices, including Michigan Senate candidate Mallory McMorrow and Senator Chris Murphy, argue the shutdown deal fails to address skyrocketing healthcare premiums and leaves vulnerable Americans exposed.
Republican Pushback:
Guber and guests assert that the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) is inherently flawed, blaming it for unaffordable premiums and advocating for Health Savings Accounts and direct-to-people approaches.
Social Welfare and Immigration:
Elon Musk is cited as asserting that ending benefits for undocumented immigrants would reduce illegal immigration—and Democratic electoral strength.
New York City Politics & Democratic Socialism:
Coverage of Zoran Mamdani’s victory and platform illustrates Republican criticisms of socialism, government handouts, and the practical impossibility of ‘free everything’ agendas.
"His supporters got so caught up in the sugar-coated promises they didn't stop to think about who would be funding these policies." (34:23 – Steve Guber)
Absher Omar, former Democratic Socialist, offers an insider critique:
"It is a bizarre, absurd, topsy-turvy mind think… where economic realities… do not exist. It's an abomination of the American economic model." (36:16 – Absher Omar)
Sergio Gore Sworn In as Ambassador to India:
President Trump, VP J.D. Vance, and key administration figures attend and deliver remarks celebrating US-India relations and Republican successes in staffing.
Trump outlines goals for closer U.S.-India partnerships and announces ongoing trade negotiations.
"Being the ambassador to India is a big deal. So, Sergio, congratulations. I know you're going to do a fantastic job." (44:18 – Donald Trump)
