Just ahead on American Sunrise, President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu reportedly hold a 10th call over the Iranian conflict. With rising pressure and divided views on what comes next, diplomacy, strikes or deadlock, what is the next move from Washington, D.C. and Jerusalem? Plus, Iran ratchets up the threats. The IRGC is warning of consequences if tensions keep climbing. What they're threatening and what it means for the region. Also later, Jeff Flake sounds off after President Trump. Back's Ken Paxton in Texas, why the former Arizona senator says the Lone Star State could now be in play. We have those stories much more. American SUNRISE starts right now.

Terrence Bates

Dr. Gina
And I'm Dr. Gina. Good morning, you guys. I'm Dr. Gina. We are live with you from the Palm Beaches. Let's bring in David Brody. He's out there flying around in Washington, D.C. and Terrance Bates, Snow plowing through the snow in our Denver newsroom. Actually, it says no snow at all. Totally made all that up. Good morning, gentlemen. It's nice to be back in the saddle.
David Brody
You, you're back.
Terrence Bates
Good to have you back. Dr. Gina so I'm just going to go on and start this off. While you were off, David and I said that you would be back with not just a report about the wedding, but I said a dissertation. So I expect at least chapter one and two right now. Dr. Gina Please, sweet tea.
Dr. Gina
So my son for our audience, my son got married this weekend. This is my oldest son, Jack. And he married this beautiful, amazing little princess angel, Maddie. I could not love her more. Her family, by the way, watches this show in Dayton, Ohio, every single day. And so I know they're out there. And an amazing family. We had a beautiful event on her father's ranch. And it was really. It was a whole weekend. So many of our very close friends and family, including our very own David Brody, came in for it. But it was also intimate, wasn't it, David? It was not a huge wedding. We really tried to keep it pretty close. And we're gonna have another reception here in Palm Beach. So my Palm beach friends didn't come to that wedding. We're just gonna do a reception here. We had a little damper, actually, a big damper over the weekend on the wedding. As a lot of you know, our little dog is actually my daughter's dog. Stella escaped when the caterers came in through a locked, padlocked door with the code, not knowing that the dog was in there. Dog didn't know the caterers were coming. We didn't know. And anyway, long story short, she got loose on Thursday. And that really. I'll tell you, it's been an exercise in a lot of things for me, Terrence. I've learned a lot. I could write a whole book on this. When, you know, it's my son's best weekend of his whole life, and it's my daughter's worst weekend of her whole life, and it's all converging. When do you help the daughter hunt for the dog? Which I did. I camped nights in the woods. I walked through at night because dawn and dusk is the thing. But I also wanted to be there for my son and his beautiful Maddie on their weekend. And so it was a mama. It was a mama challenge. I'll tell you what, Terrence. You're going to have a lot of those daddy challenges out there. I know it was a big challenge for my husband and really for our whole family also, to balance the whole thing. And then when do you leave? When do you say, I've got to go back to work? And we didn't find the dog. Thermal drones, search parties, whole thing. Reward put up. If anyone knows anyone who lives in Dayton, Ohio, please direct them our way to look for this little sweet black shih tzu Stella. Pink halter. She has on a pink halter. But thank you for asking, Terrence. And I wore a pink dress.
Terrence Bates
Yeah, I knew that. And I was gonna say, does it make you feel any better that I have on a pink halter, too? Will that put a smile on your face?
Dr. Gina
I'll tell you what. I am smiling. Cause you know what? Through it all, God's blessings are just so evident. And, yeah, all we can do is pray and put it in God's Hands at this point.
David Brody
That's right.
Terrence Bates
Amen. Amen. Well, it's good to have you back. And I was been waited with bated breath for you to come back and give us at least chapter one and two of the dissertation. We only have tomorrow left, so I'm going to get chapter three and four tomorrow.
Dr. Gina
I'm sure our audience is like, oh, great.
Terrence Bates
Thank you, Jerry.
Dr. Gina
Thank you for asking.
Terrence Bates
All right, guys, let's get to this. I'm sorry to cut you off. Want to get to the CBS News headline really quickly though, because it is kind of a big story. The US Indicts Cuba's Raul Castro on Mercury and conspiracy charges for downing of planes in 1996. That's the headline. Here's the backstory. Castro and five others are charged with murder, among other charges. Castro served, of course, as the president of Cuba from 2008 to 2018. The charges, however, stem from his time as defense minister. They're connected to a 1996 shoot down of two civilian planes. And so now those charges again filed. But David, the bigger question is what will Raul Castro actually be brought to the United States to face justice? The Justice Department saying, yes, but how will that happen? I think that's the big question I have this morning.
David Brody
Yeah, well, I mean, the answer is yes. And so now we wait. If this is the Maduro treatment, it seems like it would be. I guess we'll just wait and find out. At this point, it feels like a GPS tracking situation and we have the best military in the world. So where is Raul Castro? He's in Cuba, obviously. The last time he was seen was January 15th, when actually they had a tribute ceremony to the 30 plus Cuban military members that died, that were killed by the United States, by the way, when they were trying to protect Maduro in Venezuela. So we'll see what happens. But look, a lot of presidents have threatened to, you know, do something with Castro and it hasn't happened. But with Trump, you know, it's going to happen. It's just a matter of time. That's the way I see it.
Dr. Gina
Yeah, I think absolutely the things that are happening in that whole region actually are just, well, just let's say Trumpian. Right. But rather than hear myself talk about it, I want to get to our guests. So let's check out today's Bible verse first because we're always going to pause for that. It's from Micah 7. 7. Therefore I will look to the Lord. I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me. So true. Such a great reminder to everyone as we all face challenges every single day. President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a tense phone call over a new Iran peace proposal. Axios reports that the plan drafted by Qatar and Pakistan with other regional allies, would pause hostilities and restart talks over Iran's nuclear program. Trump says he believes the diplomatic deal is still possible and he'd like to avoid further escalation in the region. But Netanyahu remains deeply skeptical, continues to favor pressure on Iran. Before any agreement whatsoever, let's bring in rap D.C. correspondent Neil McCabe. Neil, what more can you tell us about this?
Neil McCabe
Well, I think it's a very important dynamic because the Gulf states were very much in favor of this war. And now that it's extended into May, and now we're coming up on June, now the Gulf states are saying, hey, let's get out of this thing and let's just go back to being friends. It's very important to remember that Pakistan is an ally and almost a sock puppet for China. And so everyone knows that going in. The American negotiators understand that. But it also means that when we're dealing with India and sanctioning their, their tankers or blocking their tankers, like, India is very much aware that we're talking to Pakistan every day. And so this thing could end and it could be resolved or could get even more complicated if it goes on any longer and we get pulled into that tensions between India and Pakistan. Right now, India is playing it fine and they're playing it cool, but they are watching every day about how we're getting along with Pakistan and following what they want.
David Brody
Neil, you mentioned the Gulf states in this answer you just gave. And the Times of Israel has this headline up because this is making news. The IRGC is threatening war over there will spread, quote, quote, spread far beyond the region if U.S. renews attack on Iran. They're vowing devastating blows to crush the enemies. And this is clearly the concern of the wider region. And you wonder how all of this geopolitically will play out.
Neil McCabe
Well, sure, and obviously that's true, David, but I think it also talks to the factions inside Iran that we don't have any unity of command. The other day, Vice President Vance made this point over and over again that one of the biggest difficulties negotiating with the Iranians is we don't know who they're taught who, who are with the people we're talking to able to make a deal stick. Are they really speaking on behalf of the whole government or factions of the government. And frankly, you know, the Iranian military, which is trying to, you know, is trying to be involved in these negotiations. It's not like they've been in a hot war in 30 years, ever since the Iran Iraq war. The Iranians have done everything through proxies. They've paid Hezbollah, they've paid the Houthis. Right. They've paid Hamas, and they very much have not been in active military. And so, you know, I don't think my call, I don't think they're even capable of maintaining an offensive war against the United States, certainly not with their army. And so, you know, they're talking, but I think there are people in the leadership in Tehran who are saying, hey, that's not us. And so now you have this back and forth, and now you have people maybe in Tehran telling the White House, hey, give me this, so I can make the military shut up. And the military saying, why are you giving away the store? I mean, the fight is actually inside Iran and we're on the outside looking in.
Terrence Bates
Neil, another geopolitical kerfuffle is developing about 90 miles off the coast of Florida. I just wanted to say kerfuffle, by the way, the headline is really. You like that, right? I'm pretty impressed with myself as well. You're seeing this headline, headline or similar headlines really, across the country. This one is from the New York Post, which reads, US Indicts ex Cuban President Raul Castro, potentially paving way for Maduro style capture. What are you hearing there in D.C. specifically around the White House in terms of how the administration plans to bring Castro to justice here in the United States? And I guess we have to keep in mind the guy is 94 years old, so he can't be in the best of health either.
Neil McCabe
Well, I do want to tell you, Terrence, that on Valentine's Day, I gave my wife some chocolate kerfuffles. And she was thrilled, absolutely thrilled. Raul Castro is still alive. He still has that place in the party, so to speak. It's very interesting that we're sort of setting up that Venezuela model where we indict the president and then we go in and we now have justification to arrest him and put him on trial. USS Nimitz was doing war or training exercises with the Argentinian Navy, the Brazilian Navy. About a week ago, they left their port call at Rio. They're heading north. I haven't seen it official from the Navy, but I have seen media reports that USS Nimitz is now in the Caribbean theater. And that's gotta be a problem for the Cubans because, you know, the Nimitz is a, is a super carrier. It's got planes, it's got soldiers. There are other resources in the area. So if Nimitz is at your back door, you might want to go out the front door.
Terrence Bates
Okay.

Former Cuban President Raul Castro is charged with murder and destruction of an airplane this morning for taking down two civilian airplanes that were flown by a Miami based Cuban exile group. The U.S. justice Department says the soon to be 95 year old ordered the attack on those planes back in 1996 while he was Cuba's defense minister. Five Cuban military pilots are also charged in the case. While announcing the indictments on Wednesday, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanch, stressing that or excuse me, was asked about the prospect of actually being bringing Castro to justice. But, but we, we expect that we didn't indict. This isn't a show indictment. This is an indictment because we, we
Senator Ron Johnson
expect that there was a warrant issued for his arrest.
Terrence Bates
So we expect that, that he will
Senator Ron Johnson
show up here by his own will
Terrence Bates
or by another way and dedicated. By his own will or another way. I'm curious what that other way is ultimately going to turn out to be. There's no word if the Pentagon is preparing military action at this time in order to bring Castro to the US to face those charges. But we do know that CIA Director John Ratcliffe was in Cuba last week meeting with Castro's grandson. President Trump's request for $1 billion to fund security upgrades at the White House is facing some pushback in the U.S. senate. Senate Republicans are trying to get the funding passed by before leaving for the Memorial Day holiday. However, there are questions about the lack of detail in the Secret Service request. Plus, the Senate parliamentarian has raised several concerns about the funding bill meeting protocol. The $1 billion request was added to the Senate's $70 billion reconciliation bill to fund ICE and CBP separate from the Department of Homeland Security. The move is meant to circumvent Democrat opposition since the budget reconciliation process only requires a majority vote. Senate Majority Leader John Thune says getting enough votes to pass the funding plan isn't looking likely right now. Happening today, President Trump expected to sign an executive order aimed at policing AI and cybersecurity. Under this measure, software developers will have to share AI models with the government 90 days before before releasing the technology to the public. The administration says it's seeking to address the intersection of AI and national security, specifically cybersecurity risks posed by smarter and more powerful AI. While the rules are being described as voluntary rather than mandatory. The goal of the 90 day pre release is to give federal agencies enough lead time to assess what new AI models would create vulnerable abilities for national security before they were released into the digital wild. That's a quick check of your headlines. Now let's get a quick check of your forecast. Weather Nation meteorologist Tracy Anthony keeping an eye on a number of showers across the country. And this is so good that so many places are getting rain because I suspect there are a number of communities already on water restrictions for the summer and people with nice lawns are probably in an uproar. Trust me, Me, all my neighbors are talking about the fact that we can only water on Tuesdays and Thursdays for an hour. That's the conversation everybody have.
Dr. Gina
Yeah.
N
You know, most areas, especially across the south, they'll take any rain they can get. We're just getting too much of a good thing in a short period of time. And this system we've been tracking since the beginning of the week. So areas like New York, some storms rolling on through yesterday, it did cause some localized flooding for the streets of New York City. So look at that water just, you know, accumulating there. And it's going to be impacting or scenes like this will be impacting cities from the Northeast all the way down through South Texas. So this morning, areas of Corpus Christi being inundated with a good amount of moisture. We're talking rainfall rates of 1 to 3 inches within two hours. So we do have some flash flood warnings for Corpus Christi that will remain in place here this morning. And more showers and storms expected to continue well into the weekend. Terrence, I don't know about you, but I don't think. I know that tunnel looks short, but count me out for driving on a flooded roadway into a tunnel.
Terrence Bates
Yeah, not a good idea. You shouldn't drive through floodwater regardless because you just don't know what's underneath there.
Dr. Gina
Yes.
Terrence Bates
Know what's underneath the water. So not a good idea at all. All right, Tracy, good to see you. We'll check back with you next hour for your hometown forecast.
N
Yep. And don't forget to download the Weather Nation app. You'll need it all weekend with these storms from coast to coast.
Terrence Bates
Absolutely. Thanks so much, Tracy. Up next, Iran says it is reviewing a new US Proposal to end the war. So is this the start of a replacement deal or is it just more diplomatic theater? We'll break it on down next here on American Sunrise.

That is Cincinnati, Ohio, about 45 minutes south of Cincinnati going to Kentucky, the Noah's Ark. Oh, my gosh. The whole replica of the Noah's Ark. It's just amazing. You got to go there. Welcome back, everybody, to American Sunrise. All right. Iran says it is reviewing a U.S. proposal after it was reportedly delivered through Pakistani intermediation. According to state media. President Trump says he expects a response from Tehran in the coming days, warning, of course, that the situation could escalate quickly if talks fail. Pakistan is reported to be facilitating indirect U. S. Iran communications as diplomatic efforts continue, with tensions, of course, remaining elevated in and around the Strait of Hormuz. All right, let's bring IN Retired Army Lt. Col. Darren Gobb here on the show. Darren, thanks for being here. So, boy, we're starting to feel like a broken record here with these negotiations. You know, President Trump, you can't call him. I know a lot of folks in the America first movement don't like the fact, like Tucker Carlson and others don't like the fact that he's found a war with Iran. But the truth of the matter is, is that he is doing everything he possibly can not to avoid or to avoid a full conflict here with bridges and power plants and making it really, really bad. But I have a feeling it's not going to end well for Iran. Your thoughts this morning?
Senator Ron Johnson
Yeah.
Lt. Col. Darren Gobb (Ret.)
Good morning, David. Yeah, it's definitely a broken record. It's not even a good song, so you don't even want to listen to what's playing in the first place. But, yeah, it seems like, this is just Iran being Iran. Drag it out as long as it can, no matter what it takes. They're really not interested in peace, and in fact, they're more willing to destroy themselves in their own country before they surrender the United States and Israel ultimately, anyways. That's just how they operate. They're an apocalyptic death cult. And that's what you have to understand about their mentality. I've dealt with it personally for many years, and yes, Trump has been far more patient than I guess I would have been at this point, given what is happening. And this is diplomatic theater. That is something that was mastered by Yasser Arafat and others years and years and years ago. They were just playing this the same tune again. And that's what it looks like in, in 2026. And, and I think it'll end up with it going kinetic sooner than later.
David Brody
Janet, can I quickly follow up on this? I'm sorry. TBH real quick. So why would President Trump even go for the letter of intent, then? I mean, this is what they're talking about, you know, because the letter of intent, all that means is that Iran is going to agree to certain things and then just kick the can down the road and they're not going to do anything ultimately. I mean, Trump knows this, so why even do it?
Lt. Col. Darren Gobb (Ret.)
Well, one, I think he really, truly doesn't want to have to go and further this conflict with the military and do what you described with power plants or other targets. I have to assume that what he means, what he says when he says he really doesn't want to have war. And second of all, this one was a little bit different because it was a direct request from Saudi Arabia and UAE to give two examples, and that's working with allies and giving them an opportunity to have their requests fulfilled to see if what they're saying is true, which is that Iran's ready to make a nuclear deal. I doubt it. But at this point, a couple more days is not going to make a huge change. But I wouldn't go past this with Iran anymore.
Terrence Bates
There's so much to unpack here. For one, I'm confused at the request from the Saudis and the Emiratis about pushing this thing back, especially since Iran has consistently and continues to attack those countries. And then there's this Reuters headline, which is an exclusive claiming that supreme leader of Iran says that enriched uranium must stay in Iran. That's according to Iranian sources. That, of course, is President Trump's red line. It should be the world's red line. So what gives here? It seems like the President's hands are tied at this point. He's got to move forward. He's being pressured into it, if you will, from Iran. I'm just confused at how all of this is playing out and the push even from, from our regional allies there in that, in that region.
Lt. Col. Darren Gobb (Ret.)
Yeah, well, you know, the regional allies don't want things to resume because then Iran could, you know, pick up their pace, the pace of their efforts, and attack them more in depth as well. Not as much as they might think. They're not as effective as they might think either, but that's probably a concern of theirs. Second of all, when it comes to the uranium. Well, first of all, is the leader of Iran actually speaking or is this just the picture frame going on parade again, because no one really knows for sure who's speaking for Iran or is it just a, you know, quote of the day coming from some source? I'm okay with the, with the uranium staying in Iran. Just keep bombing it, keep it buried, whatever, you know, just don't let them use it. But that doesn't mean we need to go in there with ground troops and try to take it out. Best case scenario, they give it up voluntarily because they have nothing left to fight us with in the first place. Hopefully we don't have to do that either. But again, this is an apocalyptic death cult. Their goal is to create and sow chaos around the world in the Middle east in, in the desire to bring back their Mahdi, which is kind of like their book of Revelation. And they're okay with all of this if that's, if that is the end and too many of them think like this. That's why you can't actually think of that, all of this rationally. You have to think of it from the perspective of Iran, of an Iranian who thinks that this is an end of the world scenario.
Dr. Gina
President Trump has repeatedly called on the people of Iran to rise up again, but reportedly 20,000 of them died the last time they did that. So they may just honestly not even have the numbers. But not only that, they have no media. I mean, no access to the Internet. Right. No outside information coming in that's accurate. Just give us the picture of what happens to the Iranian people in this worst case scenario because clearly it's not their fault. But they are sitting ducking here.
Lt. Col. Darren Gobb (Ret.)
Yeah. You know, worst case scenario, you've got the bulk of what's left of the IRGC decides that they're going to go full on against their own population in fears that they could rise up, you know, to preempt them from even attempting to do so. And they have many ways of doing that, of course, and we've seen this throughout history, when a government is. That's desperate to retain its own power, turns on its own and becomes a monster. Now, they've been a monster for decades, of course.
Terrence Bates
Course.
Lt. Col. Darren Gobb (Ret.)
But this could be the next, the next thing. We understand that the Iranian people are not armed, at least not yet. There may be efforts to get them weapons, just. Just some reports that I have, can't confirm. But if that's happening, good. But hopefully somewhere in between, there's maybe those members of the IRGC that are there to make a living and not ideologically driven like the senior people there are. And maybe they would turn with the Iranian population, especially as the money has stopped flowing and they stopped getting paid. Now, that's probably somewhere more realistic, but tough to determine and tough to predict exactly how that would turn out.
David Brody
Yeah, that's the next chapter here. Whether or not the Iranians should be armed. Absolutely, they should be armed. They should storm the gates and change the regime. Lieutenant retired Army Lieutenant Colonel Darren Gob, thanks for being here.
Lt. Col. Darren Gobb (Ret.)
Thank you.
Terrence Bates
Appreciate it, Colonel Gob. Thank you.
David Brody
All right, by the way, if you are 64 or older. Hello. I'm listening, because I'm getting there. This is something you need to hear. Medicare is complicated. We all know that, but it doesn't have to be stressful. So there's a group called, an organization called Chapter. They are the only Medicare advisor that compares every plan nationwide. On the phone with you, they're going to look at your doctors, your prescriptions, your. Your priorities, and they help you understand what you actually have and whether something better is available. That is a great service, by the way. No pressure, no agenda. After one call, Jody, who, by the way, I don't think has a last name, it's just Jody said the experience was, quote, a blessing. She was blown away by how knowledgeable and honest they were. So if you're already on the right plan, they're going to tell you if you're not, Chapter will help you switch. And folks, by the way, who found new plants with Chapter have saved an average of, wait for it, $1,100 a year. All right, so here's what you do. You call 843M MED help, take 20 minutes and see for yourself. 843M MED help. It's completely free, and we think you will be glad you did.
Lt. Col. Darren Gobb (Ret.)

I Heart Radio. Baltimore, Maryland There looking a little overcast. Yeah, not looking so attractive to me at the moment. I don't think I'll be incorporating that into my summer travel plans. Coming back to Mary welcome to the American sunrise. I'm Dr. Gina. We are happy you are with us. It is time now for today's Health News. This is sponsored by the Wellness Company and under the microscope today, Alzheimer's treatment research could soon get a boost. Japanese startup Sound Wave Innovation says it has raised about $17 million to help fund a phase three clinical trial of its low intensity ultrasound device for early stage Alzheimer's. Now this, this non invasive device uses pulsed ultrasound through a headset. And the company says earlier testing showed really encouraging signs on safety and efficacy. So results are still needed before any broader approval or patient use. But wow, if this would stimulate the brain, break up those plaques, I think that's what we're talking about here. And I tell you what, if you look at the Trump administration and you don't do anything else but look at the health freedom that we have received during this administration, that alone, that alone makes it worth it. All right. Are we on the verge though, of another pandemic? Here's the question. Is the hype real? Should we be worried? Is this just another effort to terrorize Americans? Oh, and the timing, right before an election, who can we trust? Well, that's where the Wellness comes company comes in. You see and hear from their doctors all the time on this network. David Brody
All right, well, sounds good. All Right. Let's talk about Tucker Carlson. He's speaking out yet again against Israel and says they have lost their morality. Take a look.
Public Investing Ad Announcer
Well, Israel has definitely lost its morality.
Terrence Bates
There's no question about that.
Dr. Gina
Of course, I do think, and I
Public Investing Ad Announcer
would always say, because it's true, that

Israel has many enemies, many of whom

have committed atrocities against innocent Israelis. Blowing up people in cafes in Tel
Terrence Bates

The reason that I have cause to

comment on this and to say that
Public Investing Ad Announcer
it's wrong is that I'm paying for it. There's no reason the United States should be sending any money at all to

Israel, and particularly not to its military.
David Brody
All right, let's bring in Miami GOP committee woman. Excuse me, Angie Wong. Angie, good to have you back on the show. Tucker talking Israel, always lots of fodder out there. Your thoughts about it?
Angie Wong
I'm scared to talk about it because it is a scary topic. Tucker Carlson is tripling down on this message that everything is Israel's fault. And I don't know why that is. I did look into it a little bit. There is certainly a trend going towards anti Israeli everything. But it seems as though Tucker Carlson really believes in this and has probably believed in this for quite some time, and now he just feels like he has the freedom to speak up about it. And when I talk to people, especially in New York City, especially Jewish people in New York City, about why they voted for Zoran Mandani and why they go to these anti Israeli protests, I'm told over and over again it was because the idea of going against an Israeli narrative for many, many decades when they were growing up was against the law essentially in their households. So now they feel like they can have some wiggle room and talk freely about a narrative that goes against the narrative they've been sold, and those were the words that they would use over the years. So I think that's a little bit of a backlash here. But with Tucker Carlson, I think something else is really interesting because he's a political animal. And when I look at Zoran Mandani's race, his social media, his team was really, really good. What they did was they would look at algorithms every single day on social media and have then candidate Zoran Mandani kind of speak to it so that his algorithms would jump up. And they've been doing this. And it's a really interesting game. But unfortunately, a lot of the stuff that comes through social media as trending. We don't know where it's coming from. It's probably coming from foreign players. So that's pushing up that messaging. We need to understand really what is going on here, why he's speaking this way. Look, it is a free country. Tucker Carlson could feel this way, and he clearly does. So he'll keep speaking on it clearly. That is the brand that he wants to die on.
Dr. Gina
Well, and I think it's not just him. I mean, there are a lot of people out there who really within the MAGA movement that have really pivoted on this issue. And I'll tell you something. A lot of people, this is an issue. I've been very honest with this audience. David Brody and I love to talk about this topic because it's important to talk about it. Angie, since it is something that is happening inside of maga. It's the whisper campaign is loud in your ear, especially if you talk to anyone from Gen Z. They are really hot on this issue and they are on the side of Tucker Carlson. So we can say, well, we don't want to bring it up. We don't want to give him any credibility. Well, that's not going to answer their questions and that's not going to answer our questions as parents about how we help them do things like draw the line at Imam Donnie. Right. About supporting someone like. Or draw the line at siding with terrorists. You can be critical of the Israeli government all day long and with good reason. I've heard all of this. We are listening to you. I don't want people to think we're not listening. We're listening and I get it. And I don't think we should be sending money over there either. I'll just say that right here. But you have to distinguish that from hating an entire group of people based on something they can't help. Because that just goes right to something much deeper and more insidious. You have to recognize foreign enemy interference. Like you're saying, Angie, they are out there watching those algorithms too, playing on them too, preaching them out there, putting them out there for our kids to digest and spit back on the Internet. So you have to. This is really a tough conversation America needs to have. I'll tell you what I like. Rather than just trash Tucker Carlson or MTG or Candace Owens or whoever the flavor of the day is that we want to trash. I'd like to have everyone sit down in a big room and have a formal debate where all opinions are welcome. There are amazing experts from Israel we have Gol Kalev on all the time, who's one of the most brilliant people, has written a brilliant book, have all these people sit down together and just have a conversation in the public eye. Angie, I don't understand why this sort of civil discourse doesn't happen because then everyone can see for themselves where the truth lies.
Angie Wong
Look, the players are involved here. The names that you just named, we play a really interesting game. This is no longer just straightforward elections and campaigning. There are narratives that are being drawn and these are superficial. These are not organic narratives that are being seeded into our conversations. So much so that my 10 year old is talking anti Israeli talk and I have to correct him every single day. And I have to say, where do you get this stuff from? It's schools, it's social media, his friends, it's become trendy to talk about this and I have to do the disinformation deprogramming every single day from the car ride home from the school bus just to show you can't talk like this. But at the same time, I don't want to for him to stop exploring. I want him to just hear both sides.
Dr. Gina
Yeah, which is why a public debate forum would be so great and it's why we're not going to stop talking about it on this show. We owe it to this amazing country and to our children to do so. Angie Wong, thank you for being with us.
Angie Wong
Thank you.

God Bless the usa. In the beginning, God created the Heaven and the Earth.
Terrence Bates
Welcome back to American Sunrise. It's now time for our moment of faith and it's brought to us by Lee Greenwood and the God Bless the USA Bible. In focus today, a historic nine hour prayer gathering on the National Mall. I'm talking about rededicate 250A National Jubilee of prayer, praise and thanksgiving. It drew thousands of Americans to Washington, D.C. to rededicate our country as one nation under God. Ahead of America's 250th birthday, President Trump, Vice President J.D. vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, House Speaker Mike Johnson and many others address the crowd with Grammy winning Christian artist Chris Tomlin headlining a day of worship, prayer, and reflection on the faith of America's founders. Joining me right now to discuss is evangelist, pastor and founder of Revival Today, Jonathan Shuttlesworth. Jonathan, welcome. So you were there, now that you've had several days to kind of take it all in and reflect your thoughts on what you experienced.
Jonathan Shuttlesworth
I think it's powerful, and I. But I'm always amazed at how unthankful Christians are generally, because they'll pick anything apart when. If you think about the alternate reality we'd be in if Kamala won, there'd be no anything like that ever. And who knows what they'd be dedicating America to. I think it's very significant God honors government leaders acknowledging him. He said that he would. And for President Trump to do that to me, I mean, if you'd have told me that was gonna happen six years ago or four years ago, I couldn't foresee that happening in America. And so to have it happen, I feel like I'm in a dream world.
Terrence Bates
You know, the term rededication means wiping the slate clean and starting anew. How do we start that process? Give us some practical ways that we as individuals can start that rededication to being one nation under God.
Jonathan Shuttlesworth
Asking, like, anybody that's watching, asking them to make sure America becomes a godly nation, is a tall order. But what you can do is do what Joshua did. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. And that's all God's asked you to do. Your family, we were talking off air about you and your daughter. That's what's in your realm of control. And then all a nation is a collection of families. And when families allow God to be first and His Word to be first, then it changes the nation.
Terrence Bates
And it seems to me that that transformation quite literally starts in your home, but it can also expand neighborhood by neighborhood. How you treat your neighbor, how you are Christlike to your neighbor, that really kind of will cause ripple effects across our nation.
Jonathan Shuttlesworth
Yeah. When Jesus said, so let your light shine before men and cause them to glorify the Lord, you know, if I turn to a life of drug addiction, it's not only going to affect me and my family, it's going to affect where I go outside. And it's the same on the flip side, when you give your life to God, God changes your life. And then, because it's Christ living in you, Christ didn't just have his own personal relationship with God the Father out in the desert, he was healing the sick, delivering people. So you can't get full of God and live in a vacuum, you become possessed with a desire to lift other people. And that's what makes America great.
Terrence Bates
I felt like this rededication was also an opportunity to remind our lawmakers that they should root their policies in biblical principles. You know, there's you can talk about it, but that's a great way to show it, to be active with it.
Jonathan Shuttlesworth
I think a showing like this, even people that don't like Christians, they have to now see, I mean like if you follow Christian nightmares on X or people that hate Christianity, they're worried because they say, look at the size of this gathering. So it showed Christians are 100 million people in the United States. And for a long time they were treated like they were 25 people. But I think now they're out of the closet and people see that this is a demographic and a group that if you ignore them or cross them, it's going to be the end of your political career. And that's good.
Terrence Bates
Absolutely. Amen. Jonathan Shuttlesworth, always good to talk to you my friend. Appreciate you being here with us.
Jonathan Shuttlesworth
Have a great trip. Terrence, love you man.
Terrence Bates
Thanks so much. Love you too, brother. Be sure to tune into Revival today with Jonathan. This Sunday it's going to be at 9am right here on RAV. We are back with the second hour of American Sunrise right after this. Foreign

I heard radio Coming up on the second hour of American Sunrise, a tense phone call. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu skeptical President Trump's peace plan for Iran will result in any lasting change. He says. We'll have the latest on that conflict straight ahead. Plus, the fraud force comes from Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan OMAR. Vice President J.D. vance says the Department of Justice is actively investigating potential criminal, rather potential immigration fraud involving the congresswoman. We're going to have details on that for you as well. Also ahead, new polling data reveals the issues President Trump remains the strongest on with the MAGA base and the main issue where the president is taking a lot of hits. We're going to discuss. We'll analyze to these stories so much more. The second hour of American Sunrise starts right now.
David Brody
Good morning America.
Dr. Gina
Welcome to American Sunrise. Whether it's culture, we have breaking news to share with you.
Terrence Bates
Politics.
David Brody
President Trump is joining us live now from Florida.
Terrence Bates
We've got you covered.
David Brody
This is what it looks like to be a patriot.
Terrence Bates
We have to protect the American family.
Dr. Gina
The American dream is still alive.
David Brody
I'm David Brody.
Terrence Bates
I'm terrence.
Dr. Gina
And I'm Dr. Gina.
David Brody
Welcome back everybody to the second hour of American Sunrise. I'm David Brody coming to you from D.C. let's bring in Dr. G. Back with us in West Palm T. Bates in our Denver newsroom. Good morning to both of you. Dr. G. Great to have you back. I know you had the big wedding and of course there was that situation with Stella. And maybe you can fill us in on that and just what's been going on.
Dr. Gina
We have a little puppy missing in Dayton, Ohio, near the, near the town of Bellbrook is where it is. Her name is Stella. She has on a little pink halter. She's been missing since Thursday. So it definitely made the job of trying to be mama to my son, best day of his life. My daughter, worst day of her life, all on the same weekend. But I will say it gave me such a heart for people. This is not a comparison by any standard, but just I can't even imagine with what we went through, you know, making a decision to leave the town, go back to work because eventually you have to. For parents of missing children, parents that go missing in spring break situations, I thought, how do you ever eat or sleep again? Because I'll tell you what, I really haven't since Thursday when she went missing. And this is just a puppy, you know. But yeah, her name's Stella and we've got brochures and all over social media, all the doing everything. It's easy to find if you look around. How to reach us if anybody has any sightings. And I appreciate everybody reaching out. So blessed to have such a beautiful holy union. I refuse to to wipe the smile off my face despite my broken heart for Stella because my son got married this weekend and he's so happy and we love them so much. And that is such a blessing, you guys know, just wonderful.
Terrence Bates
That is absolutely a blessing. And hopefully Stella will come home soon. We're gonna be.
Dr. Gina
Satan won't steal our joy no matter what. Terrence.
Terrence Bates
Amen. There you go. There you go. I like that. I love that attitude, girl. Yeah, there we go. Let's have church. Forgetting these headlines, let's have some church. Let's do some praise and worship around here. I need some word right now in my life. All right, let's do get to a couple of quick headlines because that is what pays the bills. Former Cuban President Raul Castro charged with murder and destruction of an airplane for taking down two civilian airplanes flown by a Miami based Cuban exile group. The U.S. justice Department says the soon to be 95 year old ordered the attack on those planes back in 1996 while he was Cuba's defense minister. Five Cuban military pilots are also charged in this case. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanch says the indictment isn't for show and he expects Castro to face his charges here in the United States. President Trump's request for $1 billion to fund security upgrades at The White House is facing some pushback in the U.S. senate this morning. Senate Republicans are trying to get the funding passed because before leaving for the Memorial Day holiday, however, there are questions about the lack of detail in the Secret Service's request. Plus, the Senate parliamentarian has raised several concerns about the funding bill meeting protocol. The $1 billion request was added to the Senate $70 billion reconciliation bill to fund ICE and CBP separate from the Department of Homeland Security. Happening today, President Trump expected to sign an executive order aimed at policing AI and cybersecurity. Under this measure, software developers would have to share AI models with the government 90 days before releasing the technology to the public. The administration says it is seeking to address the intersection of AI and national security, specifically cybersecurity risks that are posed by smarter and more powerful AI. That's a quick check of your headlines. Now let's get a quick check of your forecast. Weather Nation meteorologist Tracy Anthony standing by with your hometown forecast. Tracey, good morning.
N
Hey, good morning, Terrence. Colorado Springs, this was a look at the Broadmoor yesterday.
Host or Narrator for segments
Look at this.
N
We're cooling things down a little bit here for the end of May, dealing with some snow. So figured we'd go up to Alaska thanks to Robbie on getter, 54 degrees the next couple of days. Now you're going to battle a few isolated rain showers, but your weather into the long weekend is going to be relatively calm, quiet and nice. We're not talking huge temperature swings and we're pretty close to seasonable for this time of year. Heading to the Southwest, this is. Oh, I think I messed this up, Terrence, last time. Just how to pronounce the name? Buce, Arizona, I'm not sure. I'm really bad with pronunciations, but 95 degrees today. We're going to continue to get closer to triple digits into the weekend. So stay hydrated. It's going to be hot. It's going to be dry. And then I also had a few requests for this smokenado that was in Riverside County, California on Tuesday. There's a handful of brush fires that have started over the last couple of days across Southern California. So since we're headed to the Southwest, figured I'd show you that. Now our next stop is Converse, Louisiana. This is where we're going to have storms on and off for the next couple of days. We are going to continue to have flooding concerns as a big weather headline. It's going to be one of the national headlines into the weekend. And Burr on Rumble saying he drives four hours to Houston and Houston is another area where they're just going to be inundated with the rain. So urban flooding likely through the weekend and into Monday and next week. So the next five days we have flooding outlooks for the Gulf Coast, Taren. So this is kind of that area of the country we're going to be watching all weekend.
Terrence Bates
Lots of weather, kerfuffles in the forecast for this next couple of days. Tracy, thank you so much. You see what I did there? All right, Tracy, rest of the day. All right, do that. Thanks so much. Tracy, let's get you over to David now. David, good morning.
David Brody
Good morning, Mr. Kerfuffle. Well, you're not a kerfuffle. That doesn't make any sense.
Terrence Bates
Oh, my life has been a kerfuffle at a time or two. It's been in a kerfuffle, I will admit.
David Brody
Yes, I think I ordered a kerfuffle last weekend at brunch, but that's a separate issue. All right. Iranian leaders are reportedly reviewing the Trump administration's latest proposal to bring the war to an end as President Trump says he's prepared to wait a few days to get the right answers from Iran. We're also learning that President Trump had a tense call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier this week with the leader of the Jewish state expressing skepticism that Iran would ever dismantle its nuclear capabilities or hold off attacks on neighboring countries. Joining us now with reaction is Tennessee Congressman John Rose. Congressman, good morning. Netanyahu is right, and I think Trump knows it, too. You wonder when the fighting sadly will resume, but I think it's just a matter of time. What do you think?
Martha Stewart
Good morning.
Congressman John Rose
I think regretfully, that's probably true. I know President Trump has bent over backwards to try to give the Iranians a chance to come to the table and negotiate in good faith. But we've seen this over the last 47 years. They are notorious for stonewalling and delaying and then ultimately not keeping their word. It's regretful for the people of Iran because I think ultimately the president will be forced to take further action to try and bring the leaders of Iran to their knees.
Dr. Gina
Congressman, Senate Majority Leader John Thune says he isn't a fan of the Trump administration's $1.776 billion anti weaponization fund. Thune recently told reporters he did not see a purpose for it, making him one of the highest profile Republicans to publicly question the program. You know, this is the program that will be used to compensate individuals unfairly targeted by the federal government. Congressman, I would love to see, and I want to know what you think. I would love to see President Trump take on John Thune and frankly, the speaker, as well, as harshly as he takes on media critics like Candace Owens. Why doesn't he take them on? If he took on John Thune, his entire agenda could move fast. Right. I just don't understand that. There doesn't seem to be any big public affront from President Trump on Thune.
Congressman John Rose
Well, I first would say I think Mike Johnson in the House, we're getting the job done. Unfortunately, the Senate is sitting on its hands and John Thune is not delivering for the president on the promises that the President made and that the House has delivered over to the Senate. So I think the president does need to call Leader Thune to task. I think the United States Senators need to call John Thune to task. We need to pass the Save America Act. It's the number one way to get this country back on track. And it's shameful that Leader Thune has been stonewalling and failing to deliver on that promise that over 80% of Americans, over 70% of Democrats want to see delivered. It's regretful that Democrats are standing in the way of that. But the Leader Thune's reliance on the filibuster, I think has worn thin at this point, and I think the president should call him out. But more importantly, I think the many senators, Republican senators, the 53 of them across this country, 52, not counting Thune, should be calling on Leader Thune to either get the job done or. Or step aside and let a Republican leader stand. Stand up and step up. Who will get the job done for the American people?
Terrence Bates
Congressman, your state of Tennessee has been in the headlines recently over the redistricting in West Tennessee, specifically Memphis. Four lawsuits have now been filed in state and federal courts, though, challenging the new congressional maps. This all includes challenges from the ACLU as well as the naacp. We are now also learning that three of those federal cases have been reassigned to the very same judge and will be heard by the same three judge panel. So how confident are you that these new congressional maps there in your state are going to actually hold?
Congressman John Rose
Well, with the courts, you always have to have a question, but I think the early going tells us that the legislature and Tennessee's governor did the right thing by redistricting and they followed the law. Obviously, the Supreme Court, with their recent ruling concerning the Voting Rights act, made it clear that we ought to be colorblind when we draw districts. That was not the case. In Tennessee, our legislature stepped up and corrected decades of misjust or miscarriage of justice with respect to redistricting. So it's a little rich to have Democrats complaining. When they drew the last district lines they drew Back in 2002, they divided Shelby county three ways to try to achieve three Democratic districts. So it's not gerrymandering that they hate, it's losing that they hate. And it's a little bit rich for them now to complain when for decades in Tennessee they used these tactics and relied on race, regretfully, which we now know the Supreme Court says is unconstitutional. We ought to be colorblind when it comes to our politics. And that's what the court said and that's what Tennessee has done.
David Brody
Congressman, we have less than a minute left. But I want to go back to something that Gina was talking about earlier about the Senate Majority Leader Thune. What is the ask exactly with Thune? Because the ask has always been, well, get rid of the filibuster. But the follow up to that and Thune's answer, and he is correct on this, is that there are not the votes to get rid of the the filibuster. In other words, he can call for the filibuster change. That's fine, take a vote. It's going to lose. I mean, McConnell, Tillis, Murkowski, Collins, now probably Bill Cassidy, Mitch McConnell. Did I I'm sorry, Rand Paul. I mean, you're not going to have 50 votes to change the filibuster. So what's the ask exactly? I mean, even if he did it, it's going to fail. Is that on Thune?
Terrence Bates
Well, I think it is.
Congressman John Rose
He has to lead. You know, we hear that constantly in the House that we don't have the votes. But then Speaker Mike Johnson finds the votes. He works those things out. He brings pressure to bear on those who are not willing to come along. And so I think at least Senator Thune, Leader Thune, ought to bring this forward for a vote and force those Republicans to abandon the wishes of their party, the wishes of the American people. The American people, over 80% of them, want the Save America act to pass. And the people that you've just named, Mitch McConnell, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, they ought to be held to account for their failure to do what their voters, what their supporters, what the people who sent them to Washington want them to do. And Leader Thune ought to be leading. And if he's not willing to lead, then the Senate ought to find a leader who will lead. And so far, while all we've heard from Leader Thune are excuses about what he can't do, what he's unwilling to do, what he doesn't have the support to do. Real leaders step up and they find ways to get the job done. And that's what Speaker Johnson has done on the House side over and over again. And so I'm confident if Leader Thune's heart was in the right place, he could get the job done.
David Brody
No, I think you make a great point. That's a great point. Just call the vote and let the chief fall where they may and hopefully convince at least three of them to get on board. Great point, Congressman. Thanks for being here.
Terrence Bates
Thanks, Congressman, thank you.
Congressman John Rose
Thanks for having me.
Angie Wong
Thank you.
David Brody
You bet. Coming up, Vice President J.D. vance confirms that the Department of Justice is looking at a possible fraud involving Congresswoman Elon Omar. Details.

Welcome back to American Sunrise. It's time now to drain the swamp. And this morning we are fleshing out Ilhan Omar and possible immigration fraud. Vice President J.D. vance has now confirmed the Justice Department is looking into allegations surrounding the Minnesota congresswoman. During a White House press briefing, the Vice President said the DOJ is looking into whether any criminal violations occurred, adding that, quote, everybody is entitled to equal justice under the law. Take a look.
Congressman John Rose
You read the things about Ilhan Omar
Terrence Bates
and about, you know, who she married
Congressman John Rose
and whether she didn't marry this person or that person. It certainly seems like something fishy is there. But everybody's entitled to equal justice under the laws.
Dr. Gina
So we're going to investigate it, we're
Congressman John Rose
going to take a look at it. If we think that there's a crime, we're going to prosecute that crime. And that's something the Department of Justice
David Brody
is looking at right now.
Host or Narrator for segments
Let's discuss more with David Terrence and Dr. Gina. Gina, want to get your thoughts first on this one. What do you think they're going to find about Ilhan Omar?
Terrence Bates
A lot.
Dr. Gina
I think that she is really probably part of the tip of the spear, honestly. In all fraud happening, you know, you see these people, they come in with nothing. They all of a sudden have all these millions and you just know. And she's literally one of the, one of the worst. I just guarantee you it's just call it maternal instinct. And I know I have nothing to do with being her mother, praise God. But I'm just saying she's. You can tell there's just. There's a gut feeling, right, Emily? You know, when you know, you know, I suppose even if you don't know,
David Brody
do me a favor. I mean, I hate to be the voice of pessimism, but, you know, like, like someone wake me when they charge her. That's all I gotta say, you know, I mean, seriously, I mean, can I get the perp walk? Can I? Or is there gonna be a century? Is there even gonna be a central resolution? I mean, and if there is a central resolution, whoop dee doo for your Subaru, as they like to say in the 1982. 1982. Who cares?
Dr. Gina
Never heard that.
David Brody
Oh, sorry. That was a subaru commercial from 1982 when I was 17. I wanna apologize for that. Sorry, I went a little off script, which is what a shock that I'm off script. But seriously, I mean, Terrence, you feel me here, right? I mean, I'm sick of the kerfuffles that turn into nothing. That we're at 16 now. Go ahead.
Terrence Bates
I do. And you know what? Finding allegations and believing there's a crime and finding these evidence to be able to prove it, those are two very different things. And so I hope there is an investigation and it's a thorough investigation and that it does in fact, yield evidence that can lead to an indictment and lead to charges. But until we get there, you know, there's really not a whole lot to talk about. And I think that's kind of what we just heard from the vice President saying that, yeah, we're going to investigate this fully, but she has protection under the law, as all people do. And if there is a crime, and I think he pretty clearly said that if there is a crime, then we'll pursue it. And in order to pursue it, they're gonna need a whole lot of evidence and a rock solid case. And hopefully.
Dr. Gina
I know producers want me to shut up, but, Terrence, I just have to add to this. Not all people have equal protection under the law. Let's not forget that the feds went into the home, a boyhood home of Rob Morse. LEGO man found a LEGO structure that he made when he was a little boy and accused him of being the mastermind behind J6 and put him in jail for that. For how? Prison for that. For how long. And abused him. So, yeah, not all people have equal protection under the law. She shouldn't be above it.

Welcome back, everyone. We're getting ready for the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. It's set to ring here in about five minutes or so. We'll take you there live. Here's a quick look at our big board. As you can see, it's red pretty much top to bottom. Crude oil is the only thing in the green, which means you're going to probably pay a little bit more at the gas pump when you head over there today. We'll take you to the opening bell shortly. First, let's get you over to Bo Davidson. Bo, good morning.
Bo Davidson
Hey, thanks so much, Terrence. Well, I'm joined by Julio Gonzalez, founder of Engineered Tax Services and the president of RAV Espanol. The nuclear family unit is the building block of society. But we have seen throughout history that the left has attempted to dissolve the family unit. But in the Hispanic community However, family is everything. So, Julio, if you would talk a bit about your own family and how that strong bond made you who you are today.
Julio Gonzalez
You know, I love this question, right? Because we come over as groups, right, From Cuba, Puerto Rico, South America, Central America. And for me, it was 18 people in one house. And we're all contributing to adopting to a new country, finding our path and finding ways to bring economic value so that we can live in this place. And it's great because everyone in the family is the seamstress, the mechanic. Right. It's so fabulous to have 18 people in one house, have community. Right. So if the mom's off working, the grandma's there, the aunts are there, but it's all about, you know, our religion, our family together and building that community and being in a community of similar like minded people that have come so hard, journeyed so far to be here in the United States.
Bo Davidson
So amazing you mention that because my fiance's aunt just sewed a very specific type of Paraguayan shirt for me that was made in Paraguayan, shipped here. So I know exactly what you're talking about.
David Brody
Right.
Bo Davidson
Someone in the family is a seamstress, obviously. It's like a whole assembly line.
Julio Gonzalez
It's the best thing.
Bo Davidson
So why do you think there are such strong family bonds in Hispanic communities like the ones that are watching Rabb Espanol right now?
Julio Gonzalez
Well, because when we come to this country, we have nothing. We come with nothing. And typically we don't have resources. Right. But we have a community that's ready to take us in. But we need to stay together to be able to survive, really. And it takes us time to find our path. Right.
Bo Davidson
Well, I've noticed, Julia, also that Catholicism is very strong in the Hispanic community, which makes Latin families more conservative, values based, pro life and traditional. How do you think that left leaning outlets like Telemundo and Univision have been able to indoctrinate these otherwise traditional families and people?
Julio Gonzalez
Yeah, I mean, because they've been able to do that because that's been the only source of media here in our United States.
David Brody
Right.
Julio Gonzalez
So, you know, they've dominated and there wasn't another outlet like RAV Espanol to, you know, give an alternative side, so.
Bo Davidson
Well, let's talk about the antidote to that. You mentioned it. RAV Espanol, of course, new on the scene, but making big, big waves. I know that the network added live programming from Claro y Directo America, which has some terrific Spanish language programming. I thought that was a big asset. Where do you see the network growing in the next year?
Julio Gonzalez
Well, I mean, it's already growing. And, you know, from everyone that I hear from the Latin community across the country, they're so glad that there now is a new outlet where they're getting a different side of the equation and seeing the faith and family, which is so important in our communities. And so it's really resonating well. And I just think it's going to continue to grow.
Bo Davidson
Yeah. And it's got a very, very bright future, for sure. Well, finally, Julio, you know, Marco Rubio is an immigrant from Cuba, and he's also our fantastic Secretary of State. He's really established himself, I think, as a leader. Tell me about what you have noticed about him and what. What he represents as a Cuban American who is appearing more and more presidential every single day.
Julio Gonzalez
You know, it's so interesting. His story, Right. The family comes over, lives in Miami, and just like his family, our family, like, starting from scratch.
Bo Davidson
Dad was a bartender, I think.

Yeah, Bartender, Right. And becoming successful in their own rights. And look what Marco's done to carry that family into the next generation and help our country. Right. And represent our values in first the state. Right. As a senator and then up in the White House and maybe as our future president.
Bo Davidson
That's what I was about to say. Do you envision that he maybe could be one of the next presidents of the United States?
Julio Gonzalez
I think, without question, I think he would be the favorite today. And I think he's doing so many great things for the world, and he's just resonating really well with everyone. He's adored by the Hispanic community, and we're a big voting bloc, too, right? Yeah.
Bo Davidson
Second largest in the country.
Julio Gonzalez
I don't think people recognize that, you know, but maybe that came through in the last election when it started to turn and we started to see the conservative values and we were losing our jobs.
Senator Ron Johnson
Right.
Julio Gonzalez
Because that was going away with the previous administration.
Bo Davidson
Well, he's certainly making his mark, and I think he's got a very bright future. He certainly establishing himself on the scene right now and doing some great things for the country. Well, Julio, thank you so much for your time today.
Julio Gonzalez
Yeah, I appreciate it.

All right, Citi is at the podium. The applause is underway. The bell is going to be ringing here, here. And then we'll get an idea of how the markets are looking on this Thursday of trading. All right, here we go. Ladies and gentlemen. The bell is now ringing, which means the markets are officially open and those first sales are being input. And here's how the markets are looking. Not such a hot start to this morning. The Dow, S P 500 and the NASDAQ are all in the red at the moment. It looks like VIX is in the green and it looks like crude oil is also up. Everything else on our board is in the red right now. We'll continue to monitor it for you throughout the day though. Meantime, still to come here on American Sunrise, a new poll is painting a more complicated picture of where President Trump stands with his MAGA base. We'll analyze the data with Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson after the break.

Welcome back to American sunrise. I'm Dr. G. We thank you for joining us. We invite you to get in our conversation over on YouTube, getter and rumble. I personally love the YouTube chat, so get in there with us. We talk about a lot of stuff. Time now to take the political pulse of America. Here's the beat today. A new AP new poll portrays a more nuanced look at President Trump's approval among his supporters. According to this survey, about one third of Americans approve of Trump's handling of the economy, while support among Republicans has softened in recent months as well. The poll found Republican approval of Trump's economic leadership fell from about 80% earlier this year to around 60% now. Higher gas prices, global instability, that's all impacting these poll numbers. The president's immigration policies, though, remain a relative strength. The poll found about 80% of Republicans still approve of Trump's handling of immigration. Even his foreign policy, particularly the Iranian war, remains far more divisive with the broader public. Joining us now with reaction, Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson. Senator Good Morning.
Senator Ron Johnson
Good morning. Thanks for having me on.
Dr. Gina
You know, the thing is, the thing that I, the thing that I would love to see is compared polls to other presidents at this, at this juncture, shall we say, if you know, you know, of their presidencies. Because this is, this is not a time where poll numbers are strong for any president. And President Trump has been so much more zealous in pursuit of the things that he has decided to focus on. Maybe not all of them, what MAGA thought he was going to focus on or what were in campaign speeches. I think that's where some of this negativity comes from regarding President Trump. And I'm not saying that's illegitimate, but what I am saying is he's still aggressively pursued, more than any other president, at least in my lifetime. So these numbers normally, I would think would be even worse for him, wouldn't you?
Senator Ron Johnson
Well, what I appreciate President Trump is he is doing things that have to be done that no one else would do. I mean, every president since Clinton said, we can't allow the Iranians to have a nuclear weapon. Obama and Biden coddled the ayatollahs, you know, funneling hundreds of billions of dollars into their economy, into their military, into their proxies. You know, President Trump had to make a tough decision. He had to act while we still could act before they became a nuclear power, before they had so many missiles, so many drones, that this type of military action would have devastated the region. It's been damaging enough. So, again, yeah, President Trump has made some very tough decisions. He's sticking by them. I appreciate that. I mean, he could have declared a false victory in Iran and watch gas prices decline, but he is sticking by what he has always believed is we cannot allow Iran to get a nuclear weapon because that's an existential threat to America. They've got missile technology. Put a nuclear warhead on top of a missile on a barge offshore, send it over our country, explode in the atmosphere, EMP event wipes out electrical grid. That's existential. And so he's preventing that. And there's pain at the pump because of that. There's no doubt about it. It's the high gasoline prices that things are dragging his poles. But again, I appreciate what he's doing. I will mention, I think the White House does have to be careful. You take a look at the Kentucky primary result with Thomas Massie is, you know, these are die hard Trump supporters. And yes, Trump's candidate won, but 45% of Trump's diehard supporters voted with Representative Massie. So I think the White House has to look at all of the voters that have supported Trump. You know, the MAHA base, there's some concerns there as well.
David Brody
Yeah, it makes me think about. I was going to ask a question here, but I want to go on a different route here because you mentioned Massie. So let me bring up something that's right there. In the Senate, the President endorsed Ken Paxton over Senator Cornyn. Now, to your point, that would make sense. I mean, Paxton is, you know, MAGA through and through, so it would make sense that he did that. I'm curious to get your reaction to that.
Senator Ron Johnson
Well, again, I'm not a political pundit. I'm just a citizen legislature. Never been involved in politics until I ran for the Senate. So. But other people are saying that John Cornyn would have been a shoo in. Ken Paxton's gonna be a little more difficult to get elected, will spend tens of millions of dollars more, which is money that can't be spent on John Husted or Dan Sullivan or some of these other tough races. So, again, those are political calculations that they're hard. There's no certainty in any of these things. But I think that's kind of the disappointment. And I would say within the conference, too, John Cornyn has certainly supported and helped all of his colleagues. He served as NRC chair twice. And kind of the whole point inside the NRC is you support incumbents. And so that was, again, departure from the norm. But, but that's, of course, what President Trump does.
Terrence Bates
Senator, I want to talk dollars and cents a little bit. There's a lot of proposed funding that you and your colleagues there in the Senate are going to have to decide on. What, of course, comes to mind is that 1 billion, $1.776 billion slush fund the President is proposing. Then, of course, there's the $1 billion for security at the White House. That's a whole lot of money during a time when we've got sky high debt within this country. Where do you stand on that sort of spending? And it's my understanding there are going to be some votes as soon as today to potentially decide on earmarking that money.
Senator Ron Johnson
Well, again, I was very supportive of doing just a very focused reconciliation package where we fund CBP and ICE through fiscal year 2029 and get that done. I would have loved to do a whole lot more in a reconciliation bill. But. But again, I support a leadership saying, no, let's keep that focus so we can get that done. What we've done is we've added a couple elements that aren't that much in terms of dollars and cents. I support them. But the bottom line is it doesn't have enough support in Republican conference. I don't think we have enough votes. So again, we were going to do something skinny and focused, only CBP and ice. Then we added other things that are just giving Democrats the opportunity to take potshots and not get blamed for the fact that they didn't fund ICE and cbp. I mean, this whole conversation, this whole debate ought to be the fact that Democrats wanted to defund police, they wanted to defund ice, cbp. They caused this massive problem. Now they're doing anything to sabotage the effort. And by adding these couple billion dollar extraneous items here, not keeping the thing focused, it might all blow up. I mean, I'm not sure we're gonna vote today. I've heard kind of scuttlebutt, maybe it's only 50, 50. Whether we actually do the voterama tonight, I don't know.
Dr. Gina
Senators, Republicans there are facing growing internal pressure over how far they should go to advance president's legislative agenda. We're learning now. President Trump is pressuring Senate Majority Leader John Thune to fire senate parliamentarian Elizabeth McDonough after she ruled the GOP could not include foreign for the funding rather for the President's ballroom in a budget bill. Where do you stand on this?
Senator Ron Johnson
Well, again, we added that extraneous item and now that becomes controversial. The problem isn't the parliamentarian. The problem is we have the 60 vote threshold. And I agreed with President Trump we ought to end that because Democrats for sure will. Okay, I would love to have the 60 vote threshold, the filibuster, when we're in the minority and we have to stop the socialist destructive legislation. The Democrats, Democrats. But the next time they are in the majority, the House, Senate, the White House, they will end the filibuster. So I think we ought to act first to pass the Safe America act, to pass the piece of legislation that the American people overwhelmingly support, that we have enough votes in a very closely divided Congress to pass. And that was my advice. President Trump, when he first proposed that I was probably the first Republican senators to support him in ending the filibuster. But I also had the caveat saying, but before we do that, you need to lay out the half dozen legislative initiatives that you want us to see pass that have great public support and quite honestly, other than Save America act, and that came pretty late in the process here. We haven't made that disciplined case. And so currently, we don't have the votes in the Republican Senate because we have colleagues who also want to retain that filibuster when we're in the minority. But they're just not recognizing reality that that will not be retained anyway. So that's a split between those of us who know the Democrats are pretty certain that the Democrats will end the filibuster, and those that are hoping against all hope that the Democrats will respect that they won't. They'll end it, turn Puerto Rico, D.C. into states, pack the Supreme Court, nationalize elections. That's what Kamala Harris laid it all out. So again, the President's gotta do a better job of convincing reluctant Republicans that this is what's gonna happen. We need to do this to save this country. Democrats are at war with us. This isn't, you know, this isn't politics from a couple decades ago. They want to turn America into one party nation, they're bound to turn to do it. And a little rule in the Senate is not gonna stop them.
David Brody
You're absolutely right. You're gonna need 50 votes to get that filibuster eliminated. And there are not 50 votes there. But talk to us a little bit about, I mean, is there any chance, are these, I mean, McConnell, Murkowski, Collins, Tillis, Rand Paul, probably Bill Cassidy. Now, I mean, are all these hard nos on the filibuster, or do you think there's any chance you can get to 50? Cuz wouldn't Senator Thune, the majority leader, just bring it up and say, okay, you know what, it might fail, but go ahead, let's see where you vote.
Senator Ron Johnson
So my guess is the pressure from our constituents would cause a lot of the people who are reluctant to do it, who don't want to see a vote. If a vote was called, they'd vote yes. Now, are there enough? Probably not right now, but my advice to President Trump is try and sell it. Don't be such of a pugilist. Don't be beating up on people. Go and talk to people, reason with them, sell them on the concept, win them over. You're not going to do it through pressure and ripping into people. That's not a good way to sell.
Terrence Bates
Early this hour, we had Tennessee Congressman John Rose on the show, and he basically made the argument that he doesn't feel Senator Thune is leading, that he believes Senator Thune could really influence some of these lawmakers who are outliers to vote yes on the filibuster. Do you agree with that?
Senator Ron Johnson
Again, there is a great reluctance on a lot of Republican senators. Let's face it, we all viewed Kirsten Sinema and Joe Manchin as heroes when they buck their party. There are people who want to have that, you know, be that same courageous profile and courage if, you know, we were to do it. But again, they're just not recognizing the reality that they will do it anyway. So again, those, those who are reluctant to do it, they have a legitimate point and it's not John Thune's fault. He doesn't, he does not have the votes. Now, again, what I suggest in the Wall Street Journal column, well, okay, fine, why don't we bring it up as a rule change a super majority, 67 votes. That's how you change the rules in the Senate, the normal way, okay? Regular order. So at least bring that up for a vote and put the Democrats on record. Not that they'll respect that. By the way, 35 of them joined a letter with Susan Collins say they're going to respect the filibuster. A couple years later, when they voted in the filibuster, all but Senator Manchin. Sinema voted to end it. So you can't trust them. But if you get them on the record with a vote, it's probably the best chance we have of maintaining the filibuster or just prove the fact that no, there are enough votes, both Democrat and Republican to end the filibuster. Rip off that band aid, bring some function back to the Senate. Listen, the Senate is broken. I don't know how any of the filibusters gonna break it further. So again, people are just clinging to this fantasy that this is the greatest liberated body. It's not. The 60 vote threshold is basically prevented debate. It's allowed senators to not have to take tough votes to engage in debate. So that's why it's time to do away with it. I completely agree with President Trump, but we don't have the votes. President Trump has to sell it. He has to sell it to the American public and to Republican senators.
Dr. Gina
Senator Ron Johnson, thank you for being with us.
Senator Ron Johnson
Have a great day.

Today, Texas Congressman Chip Roy is introducing new legislation aimed at blocking foreign adversaries, including individuals and entities tied to the Chinese Communist Party, from purchasing American homes and residential property. The bill, known as the Ban Chinese Communist and Islamist Home Ownership act, would prohibit certain individuals from buying U.S. homes and require current owners to divest those properties within two years. According to Roy's office, the legislation would apply to anyone connected to countries designated as foreign adversaries or state sponsors of terrorism. Let's discuss more with David Terrence and Dr. Gina. David, want to get your thoughts on this? I am totally on board. I think it's good to be making sure that the CCP is not in our backyards.
David Brody
I am 100% into this. And oh, by the way. Yeah, not a big fan of having to wait for it a terrorist to buy, you know, the local strip mall. Okay. So I don't think I want that. I think it's great. Oh, by the way, did I forget this part? It'll be challenged in court if it ever became law. But that's a conversation for another day. T. Bates no, absolutely.
Terrence Bates
It would. Absolutely. You're absolutely right. It's gonna be challenged if it does ever become law. And even in the process, once it's going through, there are gonna probably be preemptive challenges. But I think it makes common sense, particularly when you're limiting people who are state sponsors of terror and who are opponents of the United States when you're limiting them or stopping them from buying homes in neighborhoods. It's a public safety thing. I mean, if you just break it down to the most basic, compound and most fundamental idea, it's simply a public safety measure. And so I'm all for it. I think anybody with common sense to would be for this.
Dr. Gina
But it's also a constitutional rights thing in my opinion. I mean, I'm certainly not an attorney or a judge, but, you know, when you really look at what rights do we have as citizens? I mean, what exclusive rights do we have as citizens? There aren't many anymore. This has been continually eroded since they were first giving. Our founding fathers would laugh at the prospect that a court would decide in favor of an illegal person coming here and owning property or an illegal person having rights over any citizen of the United States. So we need to get back to again. I know I say it all the time. The fundamentals. Absolutely.
Host or Narrator for segments
All right. Still to come on American Sunrise, Dr. Gina is standing by with the top stories she's keeping her eye on today. The one to watch is after the break. Don't miss it.

Hey, RAV fans. We are auctioning off a piece of of musical history. It is assigned number one billboard plaque for the J6 prison choir song justice for All signed three times by President Trump.
Eric Bolling
After having their rights stripped away by the Biden regime, it's insurrection. The January 6th prisoners were thrown into brutal conditions with little hope for justice. But in the middle of the darkness, something incredible happened. The men began singing the national anthem through the prisoners halls.
Public Investing Ad Announcer
We played that rough version eight months.
Eric Bolling
The recording reached President Trump, who joined them on the song. It hit number one on the Billboard charts, shocking the music industry. Now you can own a piece of that history. Scan the QR code or visit the RAV app to bid today. The auction ends Memorial Day with proceeds helping helping January 6th families through stand in the Gap Foundation.
Dr. Gina
All right. Welcome back to American sunrise. I'm Dr. G. We're so glad you are with us this morning. It is time now for the one to watch. Here's what I'm keeping my eye on today, you guys. I love this story so much. While I was on the way back from Ohio from the wedding and everything, I saw this story and I got so excited about this. If you know, you know, this is another. If you know, you know, right?
David Brody
Yep.
Dr. Gina
A restaurant franchise owner bringing back the classic Pizza Hut experience that we all thought was gone for good. Tim Sparks, he's the president of Dalend Corporation. He owns more than 80 Pizza Hut locations across the country. I love this man and I've never met him. Anyway, he has begun restoring them to their original look. This includes the iconic red plastic cups. Can you taste them?
Julio Gonzalez
Yes.
Dr. Gina
Can you just taste the soda out of those plastic cups? It includes arcade games, salad bars. You remember the Nice cold plates in the salad bars, large family booths, the signature Tiffany style lighting. That's so techy. You would never have it in your house, but you want it in your Pizza Hut. But this all used to define the chain. Sparks said he's noticed a difference in how families dine together in this classic setting. Take a look. Oh, we don't have the thought. Oh, darn. I was really excited about that. Anyway, the really cool thing is what he said. Look at that salad bar.
Terrence Bates
Mm.
Dr. Gina
I'm drooling. I'm having a kerfuffle. The really cool thing is that he has noticed that families put their phones down and literally have family. I'm telling you, I want this. I need to know where these 80 locations are. Someone find out, because I want to go to one. I. I'm so excited about this, Terrence.
David Brody
Like, it's cool.
Terrence Bates
I don't remember those days, quite honestly. Like, I probably wasn't a Pizza Hut goer until the late 80s, so I don't remember those days. But I have been to Pizza Hut buffets. There are limited restaurants that do a buffet, and they have long.
Dr. Gina
I'm cutting you off because they have the SOT now. Ready, Terrence? Here we go.
Congressman John Rose
If we can get them in here

I'm not gonna tell you I know
Dr. Gina
how to fix the world.
David Brody
But I do think that family is
Dr. Gina
a good place to start. David. Beautiful.
David Brody
OG Go old school. I remember it like it was yesterday. Gimmes. And the salad bar was right in the middle of the dining room, too. I remember they put it right there. All those cold plates, the dark booths, the thick rug, the lights that just were just so dimly lit. Oh, it's just so beautiful. Oh, the red cups. The red cups. Oh, my. And the pizza. Like butter. And I mean, literally, butter tastes totally
Dr. Gina
different from pizza today.
Julio Gonzalez
Yes.
Dr. Gina
You know, it was my first date. Okay. It was my high school where I went with my friends. We could walk there from the movie theater and. Jeff. Jefferson City, Missouri. It just. It's. I'm so excited about this, Terrence. We'll have to.
Terrence Bates
I suspect that if there's a location in Chicago, it will have the best pizza of all them. I'm just gonna put it out there.
Dr. Gina
Yeah. The one in St. Louis next to Emo's, too. All right, you guys.
David Brody
New York, New York.
Dr. Gina
Yeah. Fat chance there, David. Good luck with that.
David Brody
That's a. Now that's a kerfuffle.
Senator Ron Johnson
That would be a kerfuffle.
Dr. Gina
A fluffy kerfuffle. We'll see you guys tomorrow. War room, up next. Go. Boldly now, live the truth.
Terrence Bates
Take care, you guys.
David Brody
See everyone.
