Continue the fight against climate change. Unleashing a Twitter barrage. They think they are falling behind. Well, over the past year, we've seen a dividing line run through our nation. Half abandoning our foundational principles and half striving to bring the country back from the brink. So what will 2026 hold? Will it be division or revival? Today we're going to hear about that and more from our special guests. But before we get to that, join me. Around the table is Cindy Johnson. And we love to have like, credible prophetic voices, don't we? Absolutely. What a gift to the body of Christ to be able to have people that hear from God and can help us in going through each day. And the thing that I'm so thankful for is the hope that we have through Jesus Christ that we don't have to be afraid. Whatever comes our way, he's going to be there with us. And so I'm thankful for that.
Sean Dunn
Amen.
Joni
That's true. We don't have to be fearful, Anna. I mean, the Bible tells the story, you know, every day. I just say I am so thankful that nothing is happening today that God is unaware of. He knows all of it. He does. And he has the solutions so we can rejoice. You know, Dorothy Newton, John Paul Jackson, our dear friend who was a very credible prophetic voice, used to say God can see time past, present and future simultaneous. That's right. Oh, how does him. He was such a great voice. You know, hearing Cindy and Anna, you know, it makes me think of a scripture in Psalm 46, God is our refuge and our strength in present help and danger, you know, and that's something I think every Christian have to live by and not let fear enter the spirit because God is in control. He is Kendra Kelly Dean. How are you? I'm good. How are you? Good, good. I was thinking about what Anna said. This is an old, old song. Remember this is the day. This is the day that the Lord, I will rejoice and be glad. Amen. If you were like Annie, you'd seen the whole song, the whole thing. But I want. But the point is, it is. It's just like what Anna said. He made this day. So it's our opportunity that we're given to seize it and say, lord, what do you want for me out of this day? How can I continue to be a light for you? So gaining wisdom, knowledge, and then asking him what to do. And being obedient is so important. The days that we live in. And from the hills of North Carolina, folks, she has returned to Tabletop. Cindy, so glad you're here. Murdoch is here.
Joseph Z
Hey, there.
Joni
How are you doing? I'm doing great. And I love life there. I love life here. And I was just thinking about all the ways God has showed his bigness to David and I. Just being there in the mountains, watching the wildlife, and how the provision is happening for them. And then I was thinking about, as Kendra was talking, that if we can remember every day, we are made for his pleasure. And if we can really embrace that, that is a tremendous love of God for us that we are. I know what y' all have done. Y' all have gone up into the hills of North Carolina. In case anything happens, you'll be safe up there. Nobody could find you. And y' all can come. Okay? We got lots of property. Y' all come.
Joseph Z
Y' all come.
Joni
All right. I've got my mom. Well, I appreciate you coming back. And she. She does and will come back and do table talk. So you. You'll still be seeing Cindy. Well, our guest is a prophetic voice in this generation. And today he's joining us to reveal what the Lord has been showing him regarding 2026. Please welcome our dear friend, Joseph Z. Yay. I don't know about that. That was, like, so intense. That means she was like, yeah, that
Joseph Z
was like, what's going to happen next?
Joni
So what is on the horizon for America? And perhaps even more important, what will the church face in the days ahead? Will we rise to the occasion or fall to compromise? It may all come down to the decisions that we make. So everyone at the table, you want to hear what you feel like the Lord's showing you for you in 2026, and how have we fared in 2025?
Joseph Z
Yeah. Well, Joni, I'll tell you, when you come into the season that we're in, here's what we've seen. We've seen so much crisis, fatigue, and if anybody's sensitive and you're watching right now, we're here. There's a great Pressure in the atmosphere. You can feel it, you know. But I just want to exhort everybody, before we even really get into things, is that the Lord made us for this time. You know, you mentioned John Paul Jackson, who I just admire. I think he's wonderful. He gave a word called the Perfect Storm many years ago, and I believe we are in that time, and we were born for this time.
Joni
So let's talk about 2026. Kind of start at the beginning, what you feel like the Lord showed you, but also kind of what was the most shocking thing that you feel like he showed you about 2026?
Joseph Z
I believe the most shocking thing is that the church is not prepared and that there's a lot of challenges that are going to rise that people are not equipped for. And that involves the height of AI, the way that's developing, the way that we're seeing the economic system of the world shaking, the way we're seeing people in this nation that are allowed in and they're weaponizing them. Empowerment with those things, how close we actually are to a global conflict. I think those are things people are not really emotionally equipped to embrace or look at. However, when I say that I believe the spirit of the Lord is saying that it is not his will that we go into these things. It is not his will, nor is he allowing this. The church has a lot more to say about these things than we think we do. Sometimes we think, oh, God is just going to do what God's going to do. But it's not like that. He's chosen to limit himself and work through his church. It says in 1 John 4:17, as he is, so are we in this world. And when we stand together in agreement with His Word and we do our calling, there is a supernatural force that holds some of these things back.
Joni
It's like, during the COVID time, you would have a handful of churches, literally, that would stand up to the mandate that you could keep strip clubs open or you could keep barbershop. And they were like, no, people need the church. And they stood against it with a threat of shutting down, paying big fines. There was only a handful. Most bowed.
Joseph Z
Yes, they did. Most bowed. But, you know, I'm thankful that daystar stood up. I'm thankful that we have leadership that stands up. I don't know if it's just because you're all from Texas, but something really makes it happen. But I just want to say this. I believe we're going into a turf war. And the turf war is for all the high offices of the Land, not just politically. It's in business. This technocratic, how can we say? Just these techocracy, however you would word that, that there's people that want to take over as technocrats. Maybe they want to take over society through technology. So it starts out at the World Economic Forum, those kind of people. Then you see billions.
Joni
They're still around.
Joseph Z
They're still around.
Joni
Even though we have a different president that's trying to go a different direction, we still have to deal with those people.
Joseph Z
We really do. And they are absolutely fully invested. You know, the Soros is all, this is the spirit of Antichrist. This is what we're called to stand against. And not just people. We're not just standing against people.
Joni
So these are like demon spirits that operate in some of these individuals we're talking about.
Joseph Z
Yep. You know, there's a lot of people that are prophesying the demise of America. Now, I gotta say something. America is the last holdout before the globalist agenda takes over. And this is what I'm feeling for 2026. I believe we stand now or we lose it all. 2026 is a preview of 2028. If we lose midterms, if we see things sl, we will see that at a heightened level in 2028. Now, thank God. We know the end of the book. We know good news is coming eventually. And I want to just say this to every wicked leader out there. I want to say it right now. We're going to beat you. Yeah, we are going to beat you. We are going to win. If there's a fight, we will win. In the end. Either way, we win. But having to look at all of this, we got to recognize that it's time to really begin to rise up or we're going to begin to lose our children. At a heightened level. We're going to see a lot of this stuff just really go down that road. So there's a couple things that I'm really concern about. One is that I believe in the next year, we're going to start to see a dissolving of NATO. I believe NATO is going to start to go to the wayside more and more and more. I believe we're going to begin to see three major siloed powers in the world. The United States, Russia, and China. And when I'm looking at that and I'm praying into it, I'm thinking, that is where this is going. We're going to see siloed powers. It doesn't mean other nations will cease to exist or function. With power. But these three entities are going to become the hemispheres of power. So in the Western Hemisphere, I believe that is. Is what we're standing for right now. That's why even at the time we're talking, there's this conflict with Venezuela. I believe that is all about a assertion of dominance for the Western Hemisphere. And China could get involved with that, and Russia could get involved with that. It's something that I think.
Joni
Do you think they will?
Joseph Z
I do.
Joni
Okay.
Joseph Z
And I'm praying against it because I think we're on a powder keg that could turn into a major conflict.
Joni
What about the Ukraine, Russia conflict? You think that's going to end?
Joseph Z
So I had a word come to me, so I'll answer it this way, Joni. I had a word come to me about Zelensky probably several months back now. And I saw the Lord weighing and measuring him and said, you, time is done. And I thought, okay. And you know. You know, in part you prophesy, in part, you don't understand timing always. But when I looked at that, I believe that his time is done. And I think the globalists who are leading this whole agenda are really pushing him to the side at this point. Finding his usefulness is coming to an end. So, one, he's either going to go into exile. Two, he's gonna be like a puppet that goes somewhere and really doesn't have that much power anymore. Or three, his life could be extinguished. And that's something that I've been praying about. Cause I don't want to see that anybody. But I do believe that. That his time is coming to a close.
Joni
So what are some of the other things that we need to be thinking about for 20? In fact, we should get the board out.
Sean Dunn
Okay.
Joni
We love the board.
Joseph Z
We love the board.
Joni
Okay, Joseph, go to the board.
Joseph Z
Okay, let's go to the board. Let's go to the board. Here we go. When we're talking about prophecy, we're talking about 20, 26. One of the first things out of the gate that I want to do is just kind of draw the year very quickly. And I often draw it this way, which is in four quadrants, and that's quarter one, quarter two, three, four. So this is January. This would be July. Okay. I feel something very significant in this coming year. You know, we went through this last year this way. But I am praying against this. A false flag, Or black swan, as we would call it, event that would try to take place in quarter one and into quarter two.
Joni
What is that exactly, Joseph?
Joseph Z
A False flag is an event that's happening and it affects nearly everybody. But yet it was induced. It doesn't look induced a lot like 2020, like Covid and. Yeah. And so you get into that. Or a black swan is something that impacts everybody. That would be the level of. Or it would be the level of a nuke or something like that. But I really feel pressure over this season going into this, and there is a very significant time that's going to happen over the fourth of July, Independence Day. Okay. I believe something very powerful is taking place here.
Joni
Now, where this goes is that 250 years.
Joseph Z
250 years, yep.
Joni
So that's significant, right?
Joseph Z
It sure is. 250th. This is a turning point for the nation, as we would say now, this last season. One of the things that I have to go backwards with is back when Trump got shot in the ear, I saw that eight hours before it happened. We were live on the broadcast. I said, I hear the shot heard around the world, and Paul Revere's are going to go forward. Before Charlie Kirk went down, back in 2023, I had a prophetic vision where I saw a leader and the word of the Lord came to me and said a shepherd would be struck, but the darkness would think the sheep would scatter, but rather they'd unite and not fight and they'd carry that mantle. We got to pray that that happens, because when that happened, and God bless the whole camp around Charlie and what. But that's what took place there. And I believe that now we're in that phase where we've got to carry the mantle of some of these things. So if this was last year, for example, I drew a picture of a turning that would take place in the fall time this year in 2025, then going into 26, I see all these things. It's quarter one, quarter two, black swan. Because what they really want to do is impact midterms. They really want to impact the midterms and they are going to pull out all the stops, especially if Trump or anybody keeps hammering on them. If RFK keeps pushing back against medical agenda, we're going to see a major issue there. Now, some of the things that we've got to get into, that's very serious. And I'll draw this here. Let's say this represents the landscape. I draw this a lot. This is a storm in the middle of it. This is also the coming year. I believe this is the year the valley of decision. And in this valley of decision, I saw this as a Viper. A viper. And the Lord promised me that if we pray and we stand, that he was going to send a mongoose after the viper. And I saw that happening. And this is that globalist, Marxist, communist agenda that wants to strike.
Joni
What about cyber high tech?
Joseph Z
Totally. I think that is all about this. The black swans. I think that is all here. Cyber high tech, Joni, I think that's trying to manifest all the way up to this. There's something about this. I don't know how to say it, but there's like. There's a movie that's gonna try to predicate these events. And the Lord is saying, if you see that, speak against it, don't agree with it, don't. Oh, look, it's predictive programming. It's false prophecy. They're trying to bring it forward. We need to stand against it. But I do believe cyber is going to be a big part of this. AI Cyber, the cryptocurrency narrative. There's so much around that. Here's one thing I need to talk about, though, and that's this. I believe there's going to be a change in the standing of the global powers that are. In other words, it's going to start to shift and tip that way into this year. And what it is is these three. There are three global powers that I believe are going to begin to silo and get strong, like global superpowers. It's the usa, that's going to be Russia and China. And now, if we cannot go to war with each other, these are going to get siloed off. I see that happening. This is going to be the Western hemisphere. Okay? That's what's going to happen. This will be over in the Eastern side, but with this, there's going to come a great decline in NATO. This is something I've been praying about. And it's going to be this sense where we begin to stand in our own capacity. And I believe some of the wars and conflicts we're seeing at this present time, or not wars, but I should say where they're trying to go towards Venezuela. Some of this, we don't know the outcome of that, but I believe that is not just about narco drug runners. I believe that's also about getting our voting system fixed, because Venezuela had a big part to play in that. That's one thing that's happening. The other thing is China's heavily invested in Venezuela and I'm praying that we don't get in a conflict over Venezuela or any other South American nation.
Joni
Don't you think China was involved in our voting?
Joseph Z
I really do. And I think part of it, they did it through Venezuela.
Joni
Yeah. Wow. What about the head of Venezuela right now? Not looking good.
Joseph Z
It's not looking good. And there's so many things that could be said about it. We don't know where that's going. But I've been praying about it because I believe if they'll submit and will work together like America, Gwen, I think that we can actually just begin to take on the Western Hemisphere setting. Here's one thing that I'm really concerned about. I do think China's going to make a move towards Taiwan. And when they do, I believe that we may not intervene. I think that's something we'll just let it go.
Joni
And that's where our president has tried to bring some of the high tech here versus getting everything from Taiwan, right?
Joseph Z
That's right, yeah. In addition to that, though, here's one of the big things. I believe the sign of this here, many of the signs we're going to see in the natural is going to be extreme weather. Okay. And I'm not just talking about your typical, you know, different kinds of weather, extreme weather. And in addition to this, I also want everybody to pay attention to the solar flare narrative. And you say why? Why the solar flare? Because the solar flare, I believe, is also involved with this, this Black Swan stuff. Black Swan. That could go beyond Black Swan. False flag. What do I mean by that? Well, we know the sun is really active. Things are taking place. But it's been in my spirit for three years. Every time I hear the term solar flare or geostorm, I believe that will be induced as a false flag where they pull the trigger or push a button and try to take out our electrical grids or try to hurt things, even with our cel. All of it Internet. I'm praying against that. I'm not believing that will happen, but it's something that I believe is in their wheelhouse. They're believing if they can say, gee, a solar flare is coming when the northern lights just several weeks ago were over the whole country from the north all the way to Florida, that is not natural. There's things happening with that. And it's also because, and I don't mean to get into some of these areas, but it's also because guys like Bill Gates are spraying things into the atmosphere and they're actually inducing the climate change they say is here. And they're actually trying to make it real. And that's why we're Seeing all these northern lights and all these things happening all at the same time. So the big thing also with this mongoose word is I believe that involves Islam. Islam represents this viper. And I believe that this is going to get confronted. I believe this is going to get confronted. And the spirit of the Lord is going to say, no, this is a Christian nation. We're going to begin to stand up against it. We're going to push it back. The other thing is there's this narrative around money and economics that is so concerning. But I do believe that when this turns and it will turn and when it turns, it's going to go into crypto. There's going to be a major crypto flip. And when this happens, there's going to be a form of a wealth transfer. Okay? And the wealth transfer is not just simply for the casual Christian that's just sitting around doing whatever. When we're positioned with the Lord, before the Antichrist system fully shows up, I believe there is going to be a change of economics that really resolves some of this national debt issue. And I am not for this. I'm just saying I believe that's what's going to happen.
Joni
What about gold and silver?
Joseph Z
I believe silver above gold is going to be very important. Silver, and here's why I was praying into this. I'm so glad you asked that. Silver is something that I believe is going to be a precious commodity like no other because it's involved with advancement of robotics. And I believe because of that, if people invest in silver, and I'm not telling anybody to do anything, I'm really not. Or, or XRP or any of that. But I believe XRP and silver are going to be two of the big things that people should be considering through prayer.
Joni
And what about the resurgence of UFOs that we're seeing?
Joseph Z
Oh, man, thank you. The UFOs is going to be a radical thing. So I believe we're going to see more of that this year. So here's when, you know, we're going to see the UFO narrative. If Trump starts taking ground and winning and we start seeing the good guys, so to speak, really getting the right agenda forward. And if we begin to watch the side that is on evil's agenda lose, we will see a heightened level of what I call ultimate disclosure. I believe ultimate disclosure will come when they interview an alien or they talk to him and everybody says, wow. And they admit we are not alone in the universe. Now, I want to also speak to that. That is a lie. The lie is There are no. There's no such thing as aliens. And they'll say they are. There's no such thing as these things. But there are fallen angels. There are also technologies. And there's three things that UFOs are. People need to hear me right now. One, number one, it's tech. Tech that we have no concept about. I'm talking so extreme that we say that must be from outer space or wherever. Number two, it could be Project Bluebeam where they're blasting stuff up into the sky through holographic technology. AI, all the stuff we're seeing online. You know, most people don't see this stuff, but they realize that is going to be a trick where they say, yes, this is happening. Number three, it really is demonic and fallen angels, and there really are things that are interdimensional, flying around.
Joni
So I was going to say, what about the sons of God, the guy with the daughters of men and that race that was produced and then the flood took place, but their souls continued on. So do some of these creatures reveal themselves as UFOs, do you believe?
Joseph Z
I really do. I believe that they have access to technology that we don't understand. They can be interdimensional. There's all that. There's the nephilim narrative, but when you look at it and there's so much. We could go way down the bunny trail on this, but I believe if
Joni
Rick Renner was here, we'd go right down the bunny trail.
Joseph Z
We would never come come back. But I believe that there's even. You know, when you hear about stories where they kidnap people and they take and do experiments on them, it's because they need that DNA to create avatar bodies so they could put demon spirits.
Joni
I actually met an engineer years ago who said that happened to him. And I was thinking he's a little crazy. Yeah, I don't think he's so much. Now.
Joseph Z
Heather had one stand on our front porch and it was in the middle of the night and he was talking to her telepathic. And she went out there and she got powered up in the name of Jesus and said fear was there, looked right at it. And Heather's very much a realist, you know, she's just very, very honest. And she said, I saw this thing and I got so angry and I began to pray and the spirit stepped back and she came at it forcefully with the power of God and it left. Aliens don't like the name of Jesus, right? And so. Or what they call aliens, I believe that we're in for the Ride of our life. I believe 2026 is the valley of decision. I think it's going to be a time of fire. I do believe it could be. Instead of the great capsizing, you talk about strength.
Joni
Strange fire.
Joseph Z
Strange fire. So right after Charlie got assassinated, which, you know, I'm praying for everybody involved with that. But after that happened, then this huge outcry happened of godliness, and there was an amazing meeting. Even Elon Musk is standing in worship for hours after that happened. The next day, I woke up and the Lord said to me, now watch for strange fire. So we see this revival beginning to happen, but at the same time, darkness is rising with a mixture to it.
Joni
What about people coming up with narratives about his death that are so insane?
Joseph Z
It is insane. It's wrong. It's the spirit of the age. It's that twisted spirit, that serpentine thing that's twisting things. And that is what I believe a lot of that is.
Joni
And so many people jumping on board, like you said. All right, so finish the graph because you've got two minutes.
Joseph Z
Okay, Joni. And so when we're looking at all these things and where we're going, I believe this. We get to the midterms. If we can see victory here, if we can pray through the false flag, the blood black swan, if we can get through all the things, we see a turn against Islam, or we hold them back, and we can pray through this crypto thing, the NATO scenario, all of it we're talking about. I believe if we get through this, then we have a fighting chance all the way to 2028 and all the way to 2028, meaning Trump will not get impeached. If we can get through these midterms, we will see victory in the land of the living. But I'm telling you, there's so much that's happening even right now. I believe there's a silver lining coming for New York. There's a silver lining coming for Canada. All the things that look negative, God is in the business of turning it around. He will. Right size, the cap size, if we stand with him.
Joni
Amen. Give it up for Joseph Z. Yes. Welcome back to the table, Joseph. I got one last hard question for you.
Joseph Z
Okay. Okay.
Joni
Did y' all enjoy that?
Joseph Z
I love it.
Joni
It's so good. So good. I love the board. Okay, so you talked about 2026 and then on into 2028. We know Jesus could come at any time.
Joseph Z
He could. So imminent.
Joni
So we can't give dates. We don't know the time. No, we Know the Arabah, but we know the seasons. So where are we on the calendar?
Joseph Z
I believe we're in the days of Noah. I believe we're there.
Joni
Are you seeing years and years? Are you seeing.
Joseph Z
I've seen two things and I was standing in a crusade, really powerful. The shouting was happening, everybody's roaring. And the Lord pulled me away and said, this is not the end. I said, okay. And I got a snapshot of like 25 years out. I thought, what is this? And the Lord said, times and seasons are also determined by my church's obedience. And if we continue to do it, we can hasten the coming of the Lord. But also Matthew 24 says something really powerful in Matthew 24. It says, Pray that these things don't happen in the winter or on a Sabbath day. And when you pray, why would he say pray it doesn't happen then? I believe we can alter the narrative. Not the ultimate end of the will of God, but seasons that are not determined and God's working with his church. I believe we can alter some of the evil that would want to come on the earth.
Joni
What was the second thing you said
Joseph Z
there were two is the singularity could happen way sooner than people think, which is technology and man merging and we losing control of it. I believe that's in a three year window if we don't push it back.
Joni
And you do believe in the rapture of the church?
Joseph Z
Big time. I'm a pre God, pre rapture.
Joni
Well, we are out of time. I want you to remember that when it comes to the prophetic, the Lord reveals things so that his people aren't caught off guard. Jesus revealed much about his death, his resurrection. Every time we're reading in the book of Mark, my husband and I, right now, and he's telling them everything that's going to happen. He's in the Garden of Gethsemane telling them. And they still don't get it.
Joseph Z
That's right.
Joni
He's telling them at the Last Supper. I mean, he's telling them exactly what's going to happen. And yet when it happens, they were shocked. Denial is coming. So I want you to remember that he does this and he uses prophetic people so that we aren't caught up in fear, but rather remember that God is on the throne. Just like Joseph said. You have been born for such a time as this and God wants to use you. And if you're watching today, you feel nervous or worried about any of the things we've talked about, don't.
Joseph Z
Amen.
Joni
Okay. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind. And this is the thing. If you don't know where you would go right now, if you die, there's a simple prayer that you can pray and invite Jesus into your heart. I just watched the Passion. You know, it was produced in 2004, so it's been 20 something years.
Joseph Z
Yes.
Joni
And I cried a whole box of tissue because it really shows what Jesus did, the price that he paid for our sin. I think one of my favorite scenes is that when he says, it's finished, the veil is torn in the temple, but it's torn from the top to the bottom because God says, no more. You have to go through a priest or a man. You can come directly to me. And I hear you. So today Jesus hears you. He's at the right hand of the Father. By the way, he did rise from the dead three days later. And all you have to say is just, jesus, forgive me. Come into my heart right now. Be lord of my life. Be my Savior. I want to know for sure where I'm going to spend eternity or if you're dealing with the nervousness or anxiety. That's why that number's on the screen. We have amazing prayer partners that are standing by, ready to encourage you. We've already had over a million calls this year, so we're here. We have wonderful people that want to pray for you. I do want to thank Joseph for joining us today. For more on his ministry, you can visit him online@josephz.com, and as always, be sure to follow us on all social media. Subscribe to our YouTube channel for full episodes and exclusive content. And let us know how Table Talk is touching your life. We love hearing from you. Of course, you can also listen to the Joni Table Talk podcast, available now on all major platforms. Hey, I'm really excited about this season that we're in. And just ask the Lord, what is it that you've called me to do? Who have you called me to reach? What neighbor? What friend, what coworker? What person in my life that doesn't know you? I want you to be brave. I want you to be courageous. I want you to understand that God wants to use you in a powerful way in this season. And yes, pray and get involved. And we have some important decisions to make as a church. We got to stand up, people. We cannot shrink back ever again. All right, we'll see you next time. Bye. Bye. For today,
Sean Dunn

Well, from struggling with gender identity to dealing with record numbers of anxiety and even suicide, Millennials and Gen Z are crisis. But could they also be ripe for a supernatural harvest? Well, today we'll look at misconceptions about these rising generations and the key to reaching them. I love that. First, joining me around the table is someone who wants to reach everybody. April Simon. Yes.
Sean Dunn
Amen.
Joni
I'm so glad we're doing this. It's so important. And you got kids in that. I got kids. I got so many kids. Yeah, I got kids and all that. So I'm glad. You got grandkids. I got grandkids. I got dogs, everything. Dogs. No cats. But anyway, anyway, yeah, this is gonna be good. It is. It really is. Dorothy Newton, how are you? I'm doing great. So happy to be here. As always, thank you so much for the opportunity. And we have a millennial at the table, Rachel Lambron. I'm here. You know, there's so many people in my generation and the generations below me that are struggling with anxiety and depression and are lost. And so many they're searching. And so I'm excited to talk about this topic because so many of them feel overlooked and they're wanting answers. And so hopefully we can. And how do we do that? This next guest has done an amazing job y of reaching them. So we're going to talk about that. Kendra Kelly Dean, you're always Interested in this? Yes. I love it. And I think Rachel said it so well. I mean, people, they need information. They need resources. And more than anything, I notice that this generation, they just want the truth. They're so tired of being told things that sound pretty or look right. They just want the truth. And so they're hungry. Authenticity. They want authenticity. Somebody be genuine with them. Yeah, for sure. Cindy Johnson. How are you? Hey. Doing well. Doing well. Happy to be here and happy to get this information. Information is power. We can be more effective when we're able to hear from someone like our guest today. And you and your husband, pastor for so many years and had a very large youth group with a lot of these same ages. And so you know how important it is to reach this generation. Yes. And relationship is so important. We've got to be able to have relationship, show grace, mercy, and listen, listen. We're going to talk about that for sure. Well, today's guest has a passion for reaching this generation. He's the founder and CEO of groundwire, and he's here to talk about his new book, Contending for the Rising Generations. Please welcome Shawn Dunn. Come on in. Sean.
Sean Dunn
Hello, Lady Shawn.
Joseph Z
Hello. All right.
Joni
Thank you for being here today.
Sean Dunn
Thank you.
Joni
Okay.
Sean Dunn
Appreciate you inviting us.
Joni
Awesome. Well, I don't know if you've noticed this, but the enemy has declared war on our nation's young people. They're living in a state of confusion, mistrust, and survival. And the church today is struggling to reach them. But you might be surprised to find that it's not because they don't believe in God or that they are not open to the Bible. So where's the disconnect? Well, today, Sean is going to help us answer that question. You've been doing this for a long time. I'll just say right at the beginning. Y' all get ready. So far this year, his ministry has won over 1 million young people. Praise God.
Sean Dunn
God's good.
Joni
Yeah. Okay, so talk a little bit about the book, Contending for the Rising Generations, where we are, why you do what you do? How did you start doing it? How did the Lord show you? Because you're an evangelist.
Sean Dunn
I am, Yeah. I am, yes. So God just kind of grabbed my heart with the fact that I love the stage. I mean, I'm going to be very honest. I loved speaking, traveling and speaking, but I realized you were good at it. I was getting all the platforms. I was speaking to 150,000 people a year, but God kind of got my attention. It's funny how paradigms usually shift when things are failing. I was climbing. God kind of got my attention. And I realized I'm speaking to people who agree with me. I'm an evangelist who's looking for lost people. And most of the people who come to the event, they might need to go deeper, they might need to be all in, but they already believe what I've been doing.
Joni
Some of them bring like lost family members and friends, so you reach them. Right.
Sean Dunn
But I went to my. When God started to deal with my heart about media, I went to my board and I said, if we know where they are, why do we keep asking them to come where they don't want to be? Because even though some churches are doing great with youth ministry, those are the outliers. There's still a huge portion of the young people that will not walk into a church. They say actually only 26% of Gen Z trust past. That means that 74% drive past our church and think, that's not a safe place for me. And so we figured out how to go to them on the device. They're addicted to 7 hours, 22 minutes a day staring at their phone. We can figure out how to interrupt them.
Joni
Okay, so let's talk about how it started, because it started where you went to, like radio stations, secular and TV stations. And what would you do?
Sean Dunn
We would do 30 and 60 second clips. We buy time right after, after Black Eyed Peas dropped their boom boom pow, we'd come online and we would say, hey, you're walking through life and you're struggling. Life's hard. Yeah, but you don't have to do it alone. God's with you. So we'd always plant the seed that God is thinking about them. We'd acknowledge that they're struggling, and then we'd invite them into a conversation.
Joni
So did you do this through, like targeted ads?
Sean Dunn
Well, so back in the day in radio, it was just we were buying time on hip hop stations, alternative rock stations, country stages. We went on TV, so we were buying time on MTV, VH1, Adult Swim. But our big pivot came in 2017 when we went 100% digital.
Joni
What was your response when you went back then?
Sean Dunn
Crazy. Good.
Joni
What kind of platforms digitally are you going on?
Sean Dunn
TikTok, Instagram are number one. Number two, we're exploring, trying to get involved with the gaming world because that is a subculture that they're different. I mean, 44 young people between the ages of 13 and 24 spend 44% of their leisure time gaming or watching people game. That means 44% of the time, they're not sleeping, they're not working, or they're not at school. They're staring at a screen watching gaming. We're working on. We've tested some platforms. We haven't hit the home run there yet, but so TikTok right now is one of our most exciting platforms. We all know the challenges, but we're seeing God do some great things there.
Joni
You have how many volunteers that are online that are helping you do this?
Sean Dunn
So our model is really we interrupt them and invite them into a conversation. We 24 hours a day in both English and Spanish, we have a massive team of volunteers, about 1700 volunteers that we've trained, that we hold accountable.
Joni
1,700. And they can do it from their home. And they'll give a couple hours. Almost like they're not talking to them on the phone. They're actually. They're actually interacting with them on the computer.
Sean Dunn
Yes. On instant message and text platforms.
Joni
All right, so when they go to these, like, what was the one you just told me the story about earlier?
Sean Dunn
Bevin Nails.
Joni
Tell that story. Bev and Naomi.
Sean Dunn
Bev, I was flying into Orange county and had a wonderful. I just read this salvation chat. Naomi, she led her to Christ, basically. She came online, she said, I saw this commercial. It said, when life hurts, Jesus cares. Although you have to connect with them in their crisis, by the way, they believe that God's real. 72% of millennials believe that God's real. They just don't think he's relevant. So he becomes relevant the moment he intersects that pain point in their life. So I saw this commercial. It said, when life hurts, Jesus cares. Does he really care about me? I mean, how many of us would love those conversations? So she's instantly connected to Bev. Bev's 61 years old. She's a grandma, but she's sitting at home in Orange County, California, just outside of Orange county, and she leads her to Christ. And she says, naomi, you made my day. My favorite part of the day was you. And she said, you don't know what this has meant to me. She said, I had given up. I told the universe if I didn't find hope. Today, I'm done. 162 pills sitting next to me. Notes written. And she said she gave her life Christ. Bev said, oh, honey. Oh, honey, go flush those right now. Talked her into flushing them. She came back. She said, I also cut. She said, I hide my blade behind my phone case so my parents can't find it and I cut myself. And she said, go, get rid of it. She walked her through that. Anyway, so I'm landing and I. I realize she's 15 minutes from where I am. So I called my office.
Joni
Bev is 15 minutes, Bevis. Bev is.
Sean Dunn
And so I called and I said, bev, can I come meet you? And so I walked to the door and she's sweet. I mean, we all love these ladies.
Joni
She made cookies.
Sean Dunn
She made cookies. She gave me a hug. She's just a sweet lady. And she said, you don't know what ground wires meant to me. When I. When we started this, I thought about Naomi. I never thought about Bev. I never thought about how many of those people love Jesus so much and need purpose and they. They don't know how to share Jesus, because they don't. So anyway, she said, Said ground wires saved me. She said, I'm a shut in. My mom has dementia. My husband has Parkinson's. She said, when I put him to bed, it's the best part of my day because then I get to go talk to people about Jesus. So we walked her into. I said, before I leave, I want to get a picture with you. So I got a picture. And then secondly, I said, I want to see where you do your chats. Took me into her office, and right next to her computer, she had this long wicker basket with five by seven cards of every chat she'd had in the last 18 months. Follow up information, prayer requests. Have we connected them to a church, all those things. And I start flipping through them and she hands me Naomi's. And so I start reading it, because I just read this chat. And I said, bev, why is this one rubber banded? The other ones don't have rubber bands. She goes, those are the ones the Lord's allowed me to introduce to him so far. And I said, how? And she was almost embarrassed. She was very shy. She looked at the ground and goes, 88 so far. And she's still with us. That was eight years ago. She's still with us. Led hundreds of people to Christ. But it gives people purpose because our marketing brings them to the table where they're saying, hey, I got a pain point. Does Jesus really meet that need? And then it gives people an opportunity to say, man, I want to tell her about Jesus.
Joni
Rachel, you're vibing with this right here, aren't you? Yeah, I know.
Sean Dunn
That's really neat.
Joni
You know, a lot of times, like when we're going through something, the best to get over what we're going through is to help somebody else that's going through something. And not necessarily that she was, but, you know, having to deal with her family and not having that connection point. It's so sweet to see how the Lord actually ended up blessing her. Well, these types of conversations happen every day at Ground Wire. And here's a look at one young lady's story and how she experienced the life changing power of the gospel. Because someone took the time to listen. I was so lost. I would cut. I would sleep around with guys that I knew did not care about me at all. I was looking at Instagram and normally I would just keep scrolling. But when I heard this girl's voice and saw the tears run down her face, I felt like I was supposed to go to this website. So I just did it. I figured no one would know. And this lady named Nancy answered and she asked me if she could pray for me. It was as if a huge black boulder was lifted and taken out of my stomach. I just felt truly new again. So is that where the commercial will lead them?
Sean Dunn
JesusCares.com we have about 18 different websites. JesusCares, WhenLifeHerts.com, godLikesYou.com, I feel broken. Do I matter? What's the point? So trying to. We have a diversity of our material because different people have different pain points and it speaks to them differently.
Joni
So how many young people say this year will either look at it or interact with you?
Sean Dunn
So this year we're on track. Our commercials will be seen over a billion times, which will lead right now. We're over 23 million people have visited one of our websites and we are about 1.7 million people that have professed faith in Jesus so far this year.
Joni
Amazing. That is so amazing. April. I know that has to touch you. This gives me chills. I just, I love it that you're reaching people when they think they're just scrolling. And there you go. And you know, whenever I go out and minister, I notice there's so many people that are on the verge of suicide. Sometimes I'll ask and I just hope and pray. Anybody who's watching right now just even goes to your site or whatever because it's so important and so needed. And man, I just think it's amazing you got a God idea right there. What I absolutely love hearing you say just now is your website names. I mean, you are truly going to the heart of people. You know, people don't want these long messages. You know, they want it simple. Jesus loves me. So true. Jesus care, you know, and it's like, wow, what a difference that can make. I mean, if I was, you know, going on a website, I would actually be curious, you know. So I think, especially if you're in, you know, in a dark place, one of the things you talk about is that you educate our generation in how to do it the right way. It's called lets. So explain it to everybody what that is.
Sean Dunn
That's one of our tools. So. So there's a disconnect. There's a generational gap. I was with a group of older gentlemen, and they said, oh, there's always been a generation gap. And I said, really? I said, I believe most of what my dad believes, but my kids don't necessarily believe everything I believe. So it's a generational gap. It's different. And so we have learned to be effective in conversation. You have to connect with them differently. And it can't just be, I'm going to tell you the truth. And so we use an acronym called lets. L E T S. It stands for list, listen, empathize, transition, and then share. And what we found is there's a lot of people who really listen and empathize well. They're compassionate. You're going to feel loved. But nobody ever taught them how to transition, so they never get to share.
Joni
How do you transition?
Sean Dunn
You connect Jesus to their pain point. So I had fascinating conversation. I was in Roswell, New Mexico, having a meal. The server. I noticed he had some belief in God because of his crosses here. And so I said, tell me about that one. He said, that's an honor. My grandfather taught me what it was like to be a man. Taught me how to take care of my family, build four income streams. He was kind of talking like that. And I said, I get the impression that you want to make a huge difference. You want to leave a legacy, don't you? He goes, absolutely. Okay, that's his concern. So now we got to connect God to that. So I said, where does God play into that? And he said, it's fascinating that you asked me that. He said, seven years ago, my first child was being born. He was 29. At 22, his wife gave birth to the first child. And he said, seven years ago, I decided I wanted to know who God was and what he expected in my life. He said, but I've never been to church, and I've never picked up a Bible. I mean, for people that I grew up with, if they had that, I want to know who God is. They're Starting there. Where'd you go Online? I go online. I asked ChatGPT, who's God? I ask friends, who's God? And so was in. Ended up, was able to connect into Christ. But that's the transition is you care about this thing. I said to him in the transition, I said, God created you. He knows what's inside of you. He knows the best outcomes for your life. He knows how you can make the greatest. The greatest impact. How is God playing into that? And so when they come back. So if it's peace, you talk about that. If it's so.
Joni
But it's important to listen because you said a lot of times we'll go hard in, like, well, let me just tell you about, you know, and you need to listen. Is that the biggest mistake you think the church is making with young people is that we're not listening?
Sean Dunn
I think that that's a big one. Marketing 101, and the gospel is a marketing play. Some people are offended that I say this, but marketing 101 is you have a message. You're trying to connect with an audience. That's the gospel. We have a message. The problem is most people know their message, but they've ignored the audience. And the audience is radically different. 46% are anxious or depressed, either all of them, most of the time. Time they're struggling with. 44% think the church does more damage than good, which we don't believe, but that's what they believe. And so we have to understand the audience. So, yeah, that's one of the problems. I think we talk too much. I think there's a difference between. I'd say two things. Number one is we don't go up to anybody and say, would you like to have a theological discussion? Because they will turn and run. But if you walk up to them and say, hey, like, life's hard. How you doing? Come talk to us, they'll do that. But the second thing I would say is, yeah, we have to ask questions. Because there's a difference between saying you need Jesus and saying, you know, after hearing your story, I really think what you're looking for is Jesus. One shuts them down, one opens them up.
Joni
I had Sunday or not this Sunday, but several Sundays ago, a young woman, probably in her 20s or so, come for prayer and just wanting prayer about something specific. So I. I texted her that week to tell her that I was praying for her. And we texted back and forth a few times, and she said, you know, I would like for you to know my whole story. So Maybe you can help me. Help me understand what God. How he's been a part of this or how I don't feel like he's been there. And I said, I would love to hear your story. I said, we'll have coffee sometime and talk. But I think she just needs to know that someone understands and hears her story. And not judging her, but just saying, I see that you've been hurt, and I hear you. And then I think after that, God will allow opportunity. But I think that is a big thing. I think that a lot of young people are afraid to come into the church today because they do see it as a place full of rules, a place full of judgment, a place that isn't considered sex legalism. Yeah, they see. And so they're like, why would I want to go in there and be with people who are going to run at me? I need them to hear me, hear my pain, hear what I have to say kind of thing. So we had a young lady that came to church, and she came up for prayer, and she'd never been before her first time to ever come, and she was so cute. While I was praying for her, she goes, oh, that's so sweet. In the middle of the prayer, like, it was just a sweet little moment. And that let me know, okay, she knows nothing about church. So I went and my assistant got her a Bible, and I handed it to her. She's 17. I said, okay, this is your Bible now. And this was written for your age group. This is for you. And she came back the next Sunday, found me in the lobby, and she's like, I brought my Bible. I have been reading my Bible, you know, But I think it's like what you said. Look at me. See me as a person. See me as a soul. Recognize my pain and what I'm going through. And I love how you immediately connect them to the Lord. So how can we as a church be better at doing. How can we train our people to do that?
Sean Dunn
I say in the book, we have to do a better job of making Jesus the hero, not the church.
Joseph Z
Oh, come on.
Joni
Oh, that's great.
Sean Dunn
We have trained. We've redefined evangelism in our nation. It's no longer an introduction to Jesus, become an invitation to church. And so they're looking at Jesus through the lens of what they perceive the church to be. Even if it's not authentic, it's. It's flawed.
Joni
Or they look at pastors that have made mistakes, or people in ministry that they once loved, and they've been Disappointed by. And they put them almost in the place of Jesus, and we got to take them out and just. It's about Jesus.
Sean Dunn
Yeah. I didn't share this part of my story, but when I was standing on stages, I had this epiphany. I had this moment where I was recognizing my pride because people were wanting me to sign things and all these things. And I knew my pride. You know, it's interesting. Most people who are struggling with pride don't recognize they're dealing with pride. I was very well aware. I didn't want God to answer. I prayed for years. I said, God, help me reach more people than I ever thought possible, but do it in a way that I'm not the face of it and I can't take credit for it. And God reminded me that later. I didn't want God to answer because I like being the face and I like taking credit. But the reason it's become so impactful to me is I realized recently they're looking at Jesus as Jesus. They're not having to decide if they like me. Do they relate to me? Am I funny? Do they. They're looking at Jesus as. And that's. We've lifted him up. So the church, I think we have to. We train people. We've made the church an attractional thing, and we've even trained our people, bring them to church as opposed to man. Go tell them about the wonderful, amazing person that Jesus is and how he meets every need and how when you sit with him, he just saturates you and you feel his presence and you feel his peace. Everything they're craving, they find in the presence of Jesus.
Joni
But once you reach those people and those young people, then discipleship is so important. And then you try to get them in the right kind of church where they can feel comfortable and grow and mature. Right. And so it's all important. All of it's important. You're just going after the hard cases that are out there that will never go to church. Speak to someone right now, if you would. That's watching that you don't go to church. Maybe you love God, maybe you don't. Maybe you really don't have any kind of relationship with them. But you interested in this conversation. And I just want you to listen to what Sean has to say.
Sean Dunn
Yeah. You know, it's not about a moral compass. It's not about, if I believe in God, then I do the right things. It's about a personal relationship with the creator of the universe. What blows me away is not that God listens to me, but that God wants me to listen to him. That God wants to. I want to spend time with him. He wants to spend time with me. And that's available to you. And I'm telling you, it's life changing. It will transform your life. When you fall in love with the person of Jesus Christ. Not only do you get heaven, but you get the benefits of everything. Right now, in the here and the now. He will come and invade your space. He will walk with you, talk with you, guide you. You have a question, he'll answer it. You have a problem, he'll help you solve it. You're going through a storm. He'll give peace inside of you until the storm changes. I would just strongly encourage you, man, fall in love with Jesus. Just open up your heart and say, God, God, I want to know you.
Joni
Lead us in a prayer, Sean, if you'll do that. And we'll just repeat after you.
Sean Dunn
Yeah. Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me.
Joni
Heavenly Father, thank you for loving.
Sean Dunn
I can't believe that you choose me.
Joni
I can't believe that you choose.
Sean Dunn
To know you. To know you, to walk with you. To walk with you. To enjoy your presence.
Joni
To enjoy your presence.
Sean Dunn
But God, I need you right now. In the name of Jesus, right now, in the name, I give you 100% access to my life. Would you fill every gap that I have? Surround me in every way possible.
Joni
Surround me in every way possible.
Sean Dunn
I confess my sin to you and I give you my life. But, God, draw me deep. Meet every need. Encourage me.
Joni
Encourage.
Sean Dunn
Inspire me. Show me why you created me and teach me to walk with you in fullness. In the personal name of Jesus.
Joni
I pray in the personal name of Jesus.
Sean Dunn
Amen.
Joseph Z
Amen.
Joni
So why is that such an incredible, life changing, powerful prayer that they just prayed?
Sean Dunn
Because you don't have to do it on your own. You got, I mean, again, the Creator of the universe, who has the power at his fingertips to transform any heart, to change any circumstance, to drive off anxiety, fear, whatever it is that we're dealing with, with, we find it in his presence, right?
Joni
And when you try to do it in and of your own strength, you know you'll fail every time. I mean, you may go for a week or two, whatever, but when you invite the One who created you on the inside of you, then all of a sudden you're able to overcome in a way that you never dreamed possible. And it is important, I think, to get a Bible that you can understand. Maybe start in the Book of John, if you Prayed that prayer. Prayer with Sean. I would love to send you the Gospel of John absolutely free. And it's just a place to start in the Bible and then maybe get a Bible and start reading. You know, I always say the Bible is the only living, breathing book in the universe. It has a life, doesn't it? And a force and a presence like no other book.
Sean Dunn
Can I add on to that? One of the things that we take our new believers through is we give them a 21 day get to know challenge. So read one chapter out of the Book of John every day for 21 days with the perception of I'm going to watch how Jesus interacts with people. I'm going to watch what he says to people, how he brings the broken close, and that will transform. We need to view Jesus as that personal, really intimate.

And one of the things about this little booklet that we send, the Gospel of John, it has a QR code on every chapter. And Dr. Jean gave explains in detail what they've just read, which is so great. Well, okay, we're talking about the book Contending for the Rising Generations. Who needs to read this book, Sean?
Sean Dunn
So it's really for anybody who, whether you're looking to have meaningful spiritual conversations with waitresses every day or your own kids around the Thanksgiving table, it's a great resource that will teach you the way that they think and give you some tools on how to engage with them.
Joni
And you actually teach them a lot.
Sean Dunn
How to engage, how to engage, how not to push them away, how to ask meaningful questions.
Joni
Yeah, we've had so many opportunities when we're out to eat with waiters or waitresses, which I used to be a waitress, so I'm big on like leaving a good tip, being nice. And I mean, that's really important to me. And so. But so many times you'll just start talking and the Lord will give you a segue to just say, well, can I pray? You know, pray with you about that?
Sean Dunn
Or whatever.
Joni
And many times just leading to the Lord. And you said there's really an open window in this season like we've never had before.
Sean Dunn
Matthew 9 talks about when people are confused and they're harassing, almost like sheep without a shepherd. The very next thing he says is the harvest is right when people don't know where to turn. They're going to turn somewhere and we can introduce Jesus into that chaos or they'll find something else or someone else to fill that. Now's the time people are more confused. They don't know who to Trust, politically, spiritually, let's lift up the name of Jesus. I know I'm misquoting this, but Scripture says that when he's lifted up, he'll draw people to himself. He's talking about when he goes to the cross. But it's true. When we build him up as authentically loving, he's so attractive. People are like, I want to know him.
Joni
If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me. And so, again, for people watching, who would like to be one of the volunteers? Maybe an hour or two hours a week or one hour a day or whatever. What website is that? Groundwire.net groundwire.net so easy and so many great testimonies. I mean, so fulfilling. Like, I do believe one day in heaven there will be people that will come up as a result of volunteers leading psa. If it hadn't been for you, you may be one of those people that God wants to use. Well, we're just about out of time, but I want to leave you with this challenge today. Listen to the young people that God has in your life. Life and the older people, too. But we're specifically talking about the young people today. Talk to them and pray that the Lord would guide you into an opportunity to share the love of Christ with them. And if you're watching today and you're feeling hopeless or anxious, there is a peace and hope that can only be found when you make Jesus Lord of your life. If that sounds like something you've been looking for and you prayed that prayer with Shawn, love for you to call that number on the screen again. I would love to send you the Gospel of John. There are people standing by ready to talk to you, answer your questions, and share the greatest love you could ever know. We have amazing prayer partners here.
