Good evening, America. Happy Tuesday. Welcome to the latest edition of JUST THE news. No noise. I'm your host John Solomon reporting to you as always from the Where a crackdown on Minnesota fraud is widespread, whether it's illegal CDL licenses given to Minnesota drivers who are noncitizens or those fraud schemes. We've been talking about continued crackdown today, the Treasury Department, the Transportation Department and the Justice Department all making clear that they're going to be taking action against Minnesota for the abuses that have been uncovered there. But first, I want to start with another story about weaponized justice and the abuses the Biden DOJ allegedly committed. This new revelation has to do with Arctic Frost. You know that investigation we've been talking about a lot, it targeted Republicans by subpoenaing their phone records in Congress, spying on groups like Charlie Kirk's Turning Point USA and of course, many other friends of President Trump. Well, we know that the phone subpoenas came while the House and Senate Republicans were targeting who were targeted for the subpoenas were gearing up for significant oversight of both the Justice Department and the FBI. I just want to pause there now. If you think about that, this is something we broke on just the news. My great colleague Stephen Richards, the House Judiciary and Senate Judiciary Committees are investigating the FBI for possible misconduct about January 6. Russia collusion, Ukraine impeachment, all the other things that we know have been abusive. And at that very moment where they're ramping those investigations up, Jack Smith and the Justice Department are getting the phone records and spying on some of those members, Jim Jordan, Marsha Blackburn, Lindsey Graham among those. It is pretty remarkable. And we now have put that timeline together. Yesterday, I had former Congressman Louie Gohmert on my podcast. He was another of the people whose phone records were taken. He was on the House Judiciary Committee and on a subcommittee that was specifically investigating the Justice Department. He said Jack Smith intentionally targeted his phone because he believes Smith and the Justice Department of the FBA were trying to spy on what Congress was doing, either to get derogatory information to scare off members of Congress from looking at Justice Department failures or to find out who they were talking to and cut them off at the robe. Pretty remarkable allegation by someone whose phone records were really taken. We're going to keep a close eye on that all throughout the next few days because there's several more new developments. The Afghan national who's been charged in connection with the National Guard shooting here in Washington, D.C. pleaded not guilty today. Rockmanala Locke Inwall prepared virtually for the court hearing from his hospital bed as he had been shot by another National Guardsman after he fired at two West Virginia troops near the White House. He was charged with one count of murder, two counts of assault with the intent to kill, and one count of possessing a firearm during a crime of violence. And he pleaded not guilty to all of those charges. All right. Oh, one other point. We now know from the court records that when he was shooting at the National Guards, he screamed out Allah Akbar, a favorite line of terrorists. All right, time to turn to my amazing co host Amanda Head, who was up on Capitol Hill today. I know you did a lot of fun interviews. What headlines you keeping an eye on today?
iHeart Advertising Announcer
I did.
Amanda Head
It was an interesting day. Usually my beat is over at the White House, but today it was on Capitol Hill.
John Solomon
So it's the other way up Pennsylvania Avenue.
Amanda Head
I know, but I spoke to a lot of members of Congress and they were all very excited to be joining us. We're going to use some of those interviews a little bit later. But they all said, tell John Solomon hello. They all have a lot of affection for you. But John, President Trump and his Cabinet had a very fiery meeting today and they pushed back against the press who were in that room, especially when it came to the administration's Venezuela policy and the attacks on drug boats the Department of War has been carrying out. So we're going to have a lot more discussion for you on that tonight. And to get it started, here was Secretary of War Pete Hegseth earlier today ripping the media over their criticisms of the drug boat policy and the reports that the military fired on alleged survivors of a previous strike.
John Solomon
I did not personally see survivors, but.
Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks
I stand because the thing was on fire.
Colonel Rob Main
It was exploded in fire smoke.
Amanda Head
You can't see anything.
Rick De La Torre
You got digital.
John Solomon
This is called the Fog of war. This is what you and the press don't understand.
Colonel Rob Main
You sit in your air conditioned offices or up on Capitol Hill and you.
John Solomon
Nitpick and you plant fake stories in.
iHeart Advertising Announcer
The Washington Post about kill everybody phrases.
John Solomon
On anonymous sources not based in anything.
Not based in any truth at all.
And then you want to throw up really irresponsible terms about American heroes.
Amanda Head
And the president came out even stronger defending those actions.
Colonel Rob Main
These people have killed over 200,000 people.
Rick De La Torre
Actually killed over 200,000 people last year.
John Solomon
And those numbers are down.
Colonel Rob Main
Those numbers are down.
Amanda Head
They're way down.
Colonel Rob Main
And they're down because we're doing these strikes and we're going to start doing.
John Solomon
Those strikes on land, too.
Colonel Rob Main
And we're taking those sort of a.
Amanda Head
Yes, indeed. All right. And in some lighter news, President Trump had a big announcement about his Trump accounts, which, as you remember, I'm sure they are essentially $1,000 investment accounts for babies born here in the US between 2025 and 2028. And in honor of America's 250th anniversary, the Dell, Dell's CEO, Michael Dell and his wife, Susan Dell, committed to a $6.25 billion charitable donation to those accounts. And it's going to help $25 million American children receive a financial head start. So that is $6.25 billion that's going to end up being split in, split up into $250 for each account, which will go on top of the $1,000 already there in those existing Trump accounts. John, that is some really good pr. You can't pay for, I guess you can pay for it, $6.25 billion.
John Solomon
Well, you know the great thing about it, it reminds us of what a great country are. Here are people that made a lot of success in the world and they want to give a new generation the opportunity to get a financial head start. We, we talk about the divisions in the country, we talk about all the failures, but there's still an awful lot of great Americans doing amazing things every day. And it just made my warm, my heart smile, my heart get a little warmer. It is a, they'll never know these children they're giving their money to, but they care enough to give it to them anyways. I think that's amazing.
Amanda Head
I think it is, too.
John Solomon
This, this idea that the President has is starting to catch fire. People are getting pretty excited about it. I had five nephews and nieces born this year. So they're all going to be Trump account recipients. Pretty exciting about that. All right. We've got a fantastic start of the show for you. She's one of our favorites to bring on the show. And right now she's leading the fight to protect your children, your grandchildren, our nephews and nieces from intrusions online. There are marketing companies that all day long are research profiling our children using digital fingerprinting, digital reaping of data. Congresswoman, Iowa Congressman Marinette Miller Meeks wants to put an end to that. She's got the Spy Kids act, and she's here to talk about it. Congresswoman, great to have you on the show today.
Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks
Well, thank you so much and so delighted that you want to cover this piece of legislation since I've been in Congress in 2021. But for years, Congress has talked about children's online safety. We've had parents testify, parents come talk to members of Congress. I just met with some last week again about inappropriate apps being sold on app stores. And so there's a lot that can be done and should be done. And the Spy Kids act is just one small piece of protecting children online.
John Solomon
Yeah. So important.
Amanda Head
Congresswoman, what stands out to me about this is that if any of this, any of the things that your bill protects children against, if this was happening in real life, if someone was soliciting your child to trying to dig for data, selling that data, any information, if that was happening in person, that person would be charged with stalking 100%.
Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks
I mean, you know, the legislation's necessary because the entire online landscape has changed. And Even, you know, 15 years ago, if you were buying something online, how many people have gotten a suggestion from the company about the next thing that they buy? So, you know, I'm a physician, former director of the Iowa Department of Public Health. Even to take corporate cord blood to do testing for hereditary diseases, you had to have parental consent. So why is it that social media companies, gaming platforms, apps, why are these companies allowed to basically take data from children, collate data, ask questions, and then throw advertisements at them? Remember when there was the big fervor over cereal, breakfast cereal advertising to children on Saturday morning cartoons? So there was a big fervor over that. But no one thinks twice about what they're doing. This is research and medical research. You would have to get parental consent. Why is this any different? It's psychological research. They push notifications, they push information, they gather information from unsuspecting children, and they also develop algorithms that addict. You know, even adults are susceptible to being addicted to these platforms and online. And don't forget the CDC. You know, over 15 years ago recommended not more than two hours of screen time. Now, at that time, they weren't talking about telephones and iPads. They were actually talking about television. So it is a huge problem for young, developing minds. We need to address that problem. But most importantly, we need to address companies targeting minors, targeting them with algorithms, gathering information and securing information, tracking their behavior without parental consent. And I think this is very important to protecting kids online.
John Solomon
And what we learned about TikTok in the last couple years also reminds us that it isn't just American marketing companies and people pitching wares here, but our enemies overseas are also taking advantage of that wild west environment to create dossiers on children who will be future American adults. What progress do you think we've made in the last couple years at least getting a handle on what these foreign powers are doing to our children?
Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks
You know, I do think, and that is such a great point, I'm glad that you pointed out that there are adversarial nations and adversaries that are doing the same things as, you know, more benevolent social media companies or Internet companies. But I do think it is a concern. I think that we're making headway. You know, we have. And one, we want to allow the enjoyment and the utilization of platforms, but number two, we want to protect children. They're not the same as adults. They don't. They cannot give you information. They don't have the knowledge and the, you know, fundamental foundation of what things may hurt them later in life. So I think that we are getting a handle on this. We're trying to protect all those, you know, your First Amendment rights. We're trying to help and assist parents who, you know, most parents. You're trying to raise your children, you're trying to give them a great foundation, you know, religion, sports, education, how to, you know, sew on a button and clean the house and pick up their clothes from the floor. You've got all of this. And then you're trying to monitor what they're doing on social media. So it's like the option is no phones, no computer at all, or putting in parental consents and parental guidance. But the federal government can help in this. I mean, I think it's ridiculous for these giant corporations and big tech corporations that have developed all of this innovation from nothing, whether they're apps, whether they're gaming, whether it is, you know, social interaction sites, They've developed all of this from nothing. But somehow they can't do what a gas station convenience store does, which is. That is no matter how old I look, I get carded if I'm trying to buy alcohol or cigarettes. And you're telling me that these phenomenal, innovative companies that have developed all of this can't somehow determine age of consent? I think they can and they need to. And we're going to make sure that we hold them accountable.
John Solomon
Huge.
Amanda Head
So, so important. Congresswoman, I want to ask you about Republican priorities and things that can then that, that can win voters over to keep the majority next November. Health care is a huge issue. Health care costs have skyrocketed. We have all realized at this point that Obamacare, I think even Democrats at this point would recognize that Obamacare is a failure. What are some of the greatest fixes, as a physician yourself, what are some of the greatest fixes that you've heard bantered about up on Capitol Hill? What do you want to see to fix this?
Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks
Well, I think that you're right. Even Democrats have said it's a broken system. This is the system they created. The Unaffordable Care act has, as you know, subsidizes insurance companies who have no incentive to lower prices. Prices and premiums have gone up every single year since it was enacted. And so it's been a huge problem with affordability. And remember the great lies from President Obama. And that was, if you like your health plan, you can keep it. Millions lost their coverage. If you like your doctor, you can keep them. Even I lost patients. If we're going to bend the cost curve down and premiums were going to be lowered by 2,500, we all know that none of those things were true. And costs have continued to skyrocket. And so I think what's most important is that people need to realize we want to make health care affordable for everyone, not just a select few. And we don't want to continue the corporate gravy train of corporate welfare to insurance companies who aren't lowering premiums and who are very profitable. So there are things that we've already done. So last year we passed or in the last term we passed lower cost, greater transparency. We know that consolidation and lack of transparency drives up costs, lack of competition. Even President Trump in his first term, if you recall, did an executive order on transparency in health care cost and in pricing. It was a very important bill. We need to build on that. In the working families tax cut, we have allowed health savings account or health reimbursement accounts to be used with bronze plans. So we have opened that up. So people, you know, whether it's a business, whether it's a Company, whether it's an individual can put into a health savings account to pay deductibles. And we've also opened up direct primary care. We're continuing our work on pharmacy benefit manager PBM Reform. I know PBMs, big mouthful. People may not know, but let me just say it's an opaque middleman that is causing prescription drug prices to skyrocket. So we're tackling prescription drug prices in a way that has not been done. And where the rubber meets the road, where that increase in cost is really coming from the vertical integration between health insurance companies and PBMs. We want innovation, we want new drugs, but we want costs down. And we know that tackling the PBMs and this opaque middleman that isn't producing the drugs is not the pharmacy on your block selling the drugs, but they're making a lot of money and have. And caused prices to go up. So continuing the PBM reform, we have some of it that we've already passed. There's more we need to do. I've got to build the Drug Act. We want to make sure that comes across. But then we've also done other things that people haven't recognized. Accelerating kids access to care, which removes some of the burdens for children in trying to get care, and Medicaid, if they have to be sent to a specialist in another state. So the Medicaid Improvement act, which saves money but allows people to get care faster, and it doesn't take care away from anyone. So there is a lot of health care reform that we've already done, but we're going to continue to make health care more affordable for everyone, not a select few, not the. Not the wealthy and certainly not the.
John Solomon
Profitable insurance companies, something that will be welcomed. All across this country, people are waking up to the illusion that Obamacare really was. Congresswoman, it's such a great honor to have you on the show. We're going to be watching that Spy Kids act very closely. It's a very big, important piece of legislation. Thanks for joining us today.
Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks
Well, thank you both so much.
John Solomon
Yeah, I appreciate you. Every time you come on. All right, folks, we're gonna take a quick commercial break. When we come back, though, the Pentagon addressed those airstrikes on the alleged Venezuelan drug boats. Like Amanda told you a little bit ago, we're going to give you a little bit more sense of not only what's going on there, but is there a ground invasion or some sort of military intervention on Venezuelan soil planned by the Trump administration? We'll cover all that next right after these messages. Hey folks, you know, every day on just the news, we dig deep to bring you facts. No spin, no nonsense. And I've come to really appreciate organizations that operate the same way. That's why I'm proud to talk about amac, the association of Mature American Citizens. AMAC is more than a membership. It's a movement of patriotic, common sense Americans who care about freedom, fiscal responsibility and protecting the values that made this nation strong. Members get great benefits from discounts to resources to a powerful advocacy team fighting for you in Washington. But what impresses me most is how AMAC stands firm when so many others cave to political pressure. And right now is a terrific time to join. Their five year membership is not only the most popular option, it also saves you up to 33%. Five full years of the AMAC magazine, five years of money saving discounts, five years of advocacy, five years of standing with an organization that reflects your my values. So if you've been waiting for the right moment to get involved, this is it. Head over to AMAC, US JustNews and become a member today. That's AMAC US JustNews.

Welcome back everybody to just the news. No noise. If you tuned into today's Pentagon press conference, Department of War Press Secretary Kingsley Wilson addressed the Trump administration's posture towards Venezuela and the now much debated attacks on Venezuelan drug boats. More specifically, the reports that the military initiated a second attack against survivors of one of their strikes. And as you might remember, Senator Mark Kelly along with other members of the Democrat Party released a provocative video telling military members to ignore what they referred to as unlawful orders. And it seems now some of those Democrats are trying to frame this strike as a war crime. So take a look at how Senator Mark Kelly responded.
iHeart Advertising Announcer
Do you believe if there was a second strike to eliminate any survivors, that that constitutes a war crime?
Colonel Rob Main
It seems to.
John Solomon
If that, if that is true, if.
Colonel Rob Main
What has been reported is accurate, I've got serious concerns about anybody in that, you know, chain of command stepping over a line that they should never step over.
Amanda Head
So here to discuss this further is retired colonel and host of the Rob Manus Show. He's also the founder of Gator Pack, Colonel Rob Main. As Colonel, thanks so much for being with us tonight.
Colonel Rob Main
Hi, Amanda. John, it's good to be with you.
Amanda Head
Sarah, I want to ask you, I wonder if this is less Democrats like Senator Mark Kelly thinking that these are war crimes and more trying desperately to move beyond what happened just six days ago, that a lot of the American people are tying, and maybe this is unfounded, but tying back to the sentiment of people like Senator Mark Kelly in the video that they put out the week prior to. What say you?
Colonel Rob Main
I think you're absolutely correct. There is an aspect to this war crimes accusation, this fake news media reporting, which is really just despicable, almost as despicable as the seditious six led by Mark Kelly. But they want to remove the pictures of the young army specialist soldier and the young Air Force staff sergeant being attacked by a jihadi that the Biden administration brought into this country amongst 85,000 other Afghans that are completely and totally unbedded. And it's part of a larger operation, I think, that leads eventually to another attempted impeachment of Donald J. Trump, prosecution of Secretary of War Pete Hexseth. All of this operation can lead to those outcomes if we lose the elections in 2026.
John Solomon
Yeah. A really important part. You served our country bravely for such a long time. When you see a former Navy captain like Mark Kelly suggest, and also calling attention to his military role when he does it, that something that the president did might be illegal so the Air Force troops should resist it. Then when questioned, can't identify an illegal order at all. What do you think the punishment is? Should he face special punishment because he used to wear the uniform?
Colonel Rob Main
Well, he should face the Uniform Code of Military justice because he is a retired United States Navy captain, which is the equivalent of what I am, a retired full colonel in the Air Force. And we're subject to the ucmj, just like an active duty individual is. Now, is it unusual to recall somebody to active duty to be investigated under the Code of Military Justice? Yes, it is. It should be something that's reserved for the highest level of criminal, potential criminal activity. And in this case, Mark Kelly is the leader of the Seditious Six, John. He knows better. He knows that when he took that team out there in public and made the insinuation that the President of the United States, the commander in chief, is giving illegal orders and didn't specify, actually couldn't specify any potential unlawful order, that that is a call for mass insubordination and to sow seeds of doubt in the troops. And as you can see what the follow up to that was, is the fake war crimes accusation article out of the Washington Post, totally anonymously sourced, that's now been debunked by the New York Times, unfortunately, in another anonymously sourced article, that it was completely false in those accusations. But that accusation is linked to the Seditious Six video intentionally to set the stage for the eventual removal of Donald J. Trump, if they ever get the House of Representatives back and get enough votes in the Senate. And unfortunately, there are some Republicans still in the Republican Party, John, that hold positions of power, especially in the Senate, that may actually be in agreement with those that would like to impeach Donald J. Trump. And those are the ones that are calling for investigations based on the WaPo article instead of waiting to see what the actual facts are. And that needs to be watched very carefully.
Amanda Head
No, it's not every day you see Washington Post and New York Times at odds with each other, because the New York Times is basically saying, well, that's not necessarily true what the Washington Post is reporting. But, sir, scary things on the horizon, as you said, if Republicans don't keep the majority in 2026. But there are also scary things on the horizon in the South China Sea. A lot of the provocations that we saw during the Biden administration have continued a little bit more sporadically under President Trump and because of his peace posture. What do you foresee? What do we need to be prepared for as far as our opposition with China?
Colonel Rob Main
Well, the aggression in the South China Sea is now extending almost well into the territorial waters of the Philippine Islands pretty consistently now, where the Philippine Coast Guard ships are being challenged regularly. They're being confronted physically and intimidated and those kind of things. But that bears watching. But the other thing to really pay close attention to is what China is saying about Japan, because the Japanese prime minister now is more like a Kenzo Abe prime minister, more like a Japan first, America first type person. And she has called attention to the surface to air missiles the air defense missiles that they have within 68 km of the island of Taiwan, just to be specific, and stepped up to say, hey, we are an ally of Taiwan. We're allied with the United States of America. And the Chinese response to that has been over the top and making threats against the Japanese people. And that bears very, very close watching. But it's actually good news because the Chinese are now put on notice that the United States isn't operating alone in our attempt to deter them from being aggressive, not just in their area in the Pacific Rim area in the South China Sea, but also around the world where they have been very aggressive. And the Venezuela operation is a part of challenging the Chinese Communist Party in that part of the world, namely because of the Panama Canal. That's the most strategic vital interests of the United States in that area. And we are going to continue to challenge them in Venezuela as part of that.
John Solomon
So, Colonel, before we let you go, got about a minute left. What do you think happens in Venezuela? Do we launch some form of a ground operation or a surgical strike?
Colonel Rob Main
I think you're going to see ground targets get attacked now because as Secretary Hegseth said today, and I think the president might have agreed with him verbally, if I remember correctly, that they've run out of boat targets. And so we've been mapping all of the ground targets that we need to make the right impact to convince Maduro and his henchmen to leave the government and turn the government over to the legally elected individuals so they can take office. And I think if there's going to be a ground invasion, the president's going to go to work to make the case to the American people and probably ask for a declaration for Congress before he does that, because most of us that voted for him didn't vote for another protracted ground where or anywhere in the world. So he's going to have to make that case. And I think he will.
Amanda Head
I think you're right. I think he is fully aware that the American people are so, so tired of war, so tired of, as you said, of these protracted wars. Returnal, retired colonel, founder of Gator Pack and also the host of his own show, the Rob Maina Show. Colonel, thanks so much for being with us tonight.
Colonel Rob Main
Thank you all. Have a good evening.
Amanda Head
Absolutely. All right, everybody. Coming up, more on Venezuela from an intelligence perspective with former CIA senior operations officer Rick de la Torre next.
John Solomon

Welcome back, America. As Amanda said, we have a real treat for you. He's a former CIA senior operations officer. He knows Latin America really well. He's a good friend of the show, Rick De La Torre. Rick, good to have you back on.
Rick De La Torre
Great to be back.
John Solomon
All right. I want to help people understand something because when I say this, sometimes people give Me a strange look, but Venezuela really is a proxy of Cuban intelligence. Cuba exercises such enormous influence over that country, and this may be the first American president who gets that. Tell us a little bit about how Cuba has used Venezuela to destable our hemisphere.
Rick De La Torre
Sure. So? Well, Cuba has been destabilizing not just this hemisphere, but also Africa and parts of Europe since the beginning, since 1959. That's just been part of their mandate. In exchange for access to Cuban markets and goods and services that Cuba can produce, the only way they can actually make a living is by installing people that think the same way they do, that belong to that communist socialist way of thinking, and want to nationalize everything within their countries. So very early on, and we've seen this throughout Latin America, most of the leftist regimes that have come about in Latin America since 1959 were directly funded, if not put in place, with direct help from the Cuban government and to a lesser extent, also from the Soviets at the time. In Venezuela's case dating back to Chavez and then later under Maduro, they are nothing more than a puppet of the Cuban regime. They are the lifeblood that gives them oil. The Venezuelans give them hundreds of thousands of barrels of oil, and then the Venezuelans sell most of it. They don't even give it to the Cuban people. They turn around and sell it in the open market to get a hard currency. Well, that's the kind of goose that lays the golden egg and keeps the Cuban regime and economy afloat. So they'll do everything they can to protect and to keep folks like Maduro in power. And what that means is that translates then into military support. Cuban intelligence support. The Cuban intelligence officers that run around Cuba are kind of like the. The Praetorian Guard, right, for Roman emperors, the special exclusive group of henchmen that are there just to protect Maduro because he can't even trust his own Venezuelan generals. So Cubans just have just as much blood on their hands as Venezuelan as the Maduro regime does.
Amanda Head
Rick, one thing that Venezuela is good at is exporting terror, of course, trend Aragua, but De La Solas, another one of these organizations that has been recently designated a foreign terrorist organization. Does that augur to you that that recent designation, does that tell you something about what President Trump is thinking with regards to any type of future action?
John Solomon
Sure.
Rick De La Torre
You know, the big debate in D.C. and, you know, during the prior administration and even towards the end of the the first Trump administration was do we go ahead and designate narco terrorists as foreign terrorist threats? What that means is by giving them that FTO designation, that opens up an entirely new set of tool sets that the President can use to persecute these targets. Up until, you know, prior to being an FTO designee. What that means is that you're really, your hands are kind of tied in our criminal justice system. And that hasn't really worked. In fact, Maduro has been indicted in the Southern District of Florida for, as a, you know, as a, as a narco lord. And that hasn't, you know, he hasn't turned himself over to arrest or the US Marshals haven't been able to execute a warrant. So that doesn't really move the needle by designating them a foreign terrorist organization. What that means now you can bring in the US Military, you can leverage all the intelligence community assets and tools to, you know, to use and to persecute a, you know, a real active campaign against a foreign terrorist organization. Basically, Cartel de los Olis and Trend Aragua have now been elevated to the same level as Al Qaeda and, you know, and Al Shabaab and all these other terrorist organizations. So that means if it was legal to conduct these operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen and elsewhere, it's certainly legal to conduct them in Venezuela.
John Solomon
Yeah. Let me ask you whether you think the President will go to Congress and seek permission or whether he'll act unilaterally because he is authorized under the terrorism war declaration.
Rick De La Torre
Well, you know, I'm no lawyer, but I will say, you know, under Panama, we didn't seek a War Powers act. And we went in there, and we really did go in there with boots on the ground, you know, and, you know, took Noriega, placed him under arrest and flew him back to the United States. Same thing in Grenada. If the President decides to do that, that's fine. That's great. I mean, nothing would be better to have U.S. congress support behind it. But let's remember the United States Congress hasn't declared war in a very long time. Vietnam was never a declared war. Now, I'm no fan, and I agree. I think with most Americans, common sense prevails that we shouldn't have a long, extended, protracted military operation in Venezuela and get bogged down there in nation state building and all of that. This is not Afghanistan.
Colonel Rob Main
Right.
Rick De La Torre
This is not Iraq. These are not fanatics. These are folks that at the first sign of, you know, of a better way, they're going to run that way. Most, most Venezuelan soldiers haven't had a meal in the past few days. You know, Venezuelan citizens are one of the, you know, are one of the only people in Latin America that consistently lose weight every year because there just isn't enough food to feed them. So these are folks that are not really behind this regime in any way. And that extends throughout the military. Only the top generals, the members of Cartel de los Ores who are the ones who benefit from narco trade, are probably the only ones that are supportive of the Maduro regime. So I wouldn't be too worried about any kind of long protracted effort in Venezuela. Venezuela was, I think it had the second highest GDP in this hemisphere behind the United States up until Chavez took over. So these are folks that remember what a democracy is, remember what capitalism is. And there's plenty of Venezuelan Americans in South Florida, New York and throughout the United States that are waiting with bated breath. They head back to Venezuela and go back to their homes and start up businesses again.
John Solomon
Is a good lesson for anyone in America who thinks socialism is a good idea. That country was destroyed by its socialist communist leaders. Yeah. It's a great honor to have you on. Always appreciate your expertise. Thanks for joining us tonight.
Rick De La Torre
Thanks, guys.
John Solomon

Welcome back to our just the news health update brought to you by Native Path. And in this culture of making America healthy again, we love having these conversations. Joining us now, the co founder and chief culture officer at Native Path, Dr. Chad Walding. Dr. Walding, thanks so much for being here.
John Solomon
Hello.
Hi, Amanda. Hi, John. Thank you so much for having me.
Amanda Head
Yeah, we love having you. And you know, when you think about what's happening politically, culturally in our country, there are a lot of crises boiling up to the surface. And I don't want to make light of mental health and putting a band aid on it with sleep, but sleep is so foundational to so much of our health, but particularly mental, isn't it?
John Solomon
Extremely, it's, and it's one of the least talked about things going on right now when someone has depression or they're dealing with anything, you know, when they go to the doctor and said, can you help me? I feel like as, as medical professionals, as the medical industry, I feel like we've done a, a poor job in encouraging and really educating on people on sleep and understanding really what they can do to, in order to feel better. Right. So a Native Path, we are always focusing on the, that fact foundations. We're all about wax on, wax off, take care of the foundational things. Because if you don't take care of them, there's, you can supplement all you want, you can take all the medications you want, but Nothing will really change, right? So when it comes to sleep, just like when it comes to nutrition, it's important for us to realize these, these changes that have been happening slowly over time, especially during the past 100 years, right? So for 100 years ago, 200 years ago, thousand years ago, humans on average were sleeping eight to ten hours a night. And they were sleeping throughout the night. They were getting really good restful sleep. Something changed about 100 years ago. And a little over 100 years ago was a man named Thomas Edison. He invented this thing called the light bulb, right? And all of a sudden, the day turned into night because we stay inside and the night turned into day. We stay inside. We turn on these bright screens, we have these bright lights that keep us up and our eyes and our skin get really confused and it throws off our natural circadian rhythm, right? So the impact of that is we get less sleep. You know, the average person now is getting less than six hours a night. And the sleep they do get is not even good restorative sleep. They're not hitting that deep, you know, phase three sleep where things are repaired and an REM happens. It's a very superficial sleep. So because we're tired the next day, we end up taking energy drinks and sugar in order to give us energy. And it's this ongoing cycle that after a while has downstream effects. It has downstream effects to our mental health, our mood, you know, you mentioned things like depression, but even our cardiovascular system, our risk for cancer, obesity, there's a huge link between how well we sleep and the way our metabolism is working, and even things like Alzheimer's, dementia. Studies are now showing there's an incredible correlation between the quality of our sleep and those long term mental disorders. So it is the foundation, and in terms of recognizing this as an issue and then correcting it is one of the best things we can do, right? So I'm always big on the principles of good sleep, you know. So what are the principles of good sleep? Some easy things you can do. First thing is when you wake up in the morning as quickly as you can go outside or at least look out the window and get natural sun exposure to your eyes, to your skin. And what that does, does it sends a signal to your body, the sun is up, it starts producing cortisol, your daytime hormones, right? It regulates things and it allows you to have good energy throughout the day in order to handle stress and do all the things you want to do. And as night comes in, you go outside again as the sun goes down, you know, and be careful about the light inside your house.
Colonel Rob Main
Right.
John Solomon
Not too much light, not too much of a, too big of a bright screen. Wear some glasses if you have to, to blow, block out the blue light. But making sure your relationship with light is the way it should be. Right. Our ancestors were spending most of their time outside during the day. And in the modern world, we're spending about 10% of our time as opposed to what our ancestors are doing with 90%. So our relationship with the light, our relationship with sleep, is absolutely foundational to our health.
Amazing. Over time you're in this cycle, your brain begins to deplete of things. It starts to be maladjusted because of the cycle of abuse we're putting it through. Talk us a little bit. I mean, people take melatonin out of sleep and other things, but what are some options, dietary and otherwise, that we can do to kind of get that not only restorative sleep, but also the restoration of our brain to normal function?
Yeah, you mentioned the melatonin thing. Melatonin, we have to be really careful about the dose. You know, too much of it can really throw off or throw off our natural rhythm. For a lot of people, we want to produce melatonin as naturally as we can. Right. And that comes with our relationship with light. You know, outside of that, the good practices of blacking out your room, you know, even if you have an alarm clock, put a, put a piece of tape on there, or cover up your fire alarm system, you know, block out the windows. Giving yourself about three hours of eating before you, before you go to bed. Three hours before, before you go to bed, eat, then wait three hours. That helps you. Your body doesn't like to be hot when it goes to bed. And when it comes to supplements, that's another area where we've really missed the mark. These over the counter sleep aids that so many people are taking, they don't give you good restorative sleep. Drinking alcohol doesn't give you good restorative sleep. You might fall asleep quick, but you're, again, you're not getting that deep level sleep. So something I recommend for this is collagen. Collagen is something I talk a lot about, about what it can do for the structure of your body, your skin, your hair, your nails. But it also has an amino acid in it called glycine, and that's a unique amino acid that is really helpful to getting your body to relax as much as you possibly can. So you're calm. Your body wants to be in a nice, calm, relaxed State and the glycine and collagen is incredibly helpful for that. And an easy thing to do is about an hour before you go to bed, have a non caffeinated drink like a tea, a little warm tea, sip on it and then just start blacking out the lights. Read a book as opposed to watching tv. You know I mentioned watch the sun first thing in the morning. These basic practices help you regulate your system in order to feel better. They've done incredible studies where they've taken people who are sleep deprived and can't sleep at all and just had them go camping and just wake up and fall asleep. Sleep according to the sun and within two to three days their sleep issues are fixed. Right. And they feel better. That has a profound impact on the rest of your health. So having these basic sleep practices, having good supplements to support you like collagen and an easy routine can be game changing for our health.
Yeah, amazing.

Amanda Head
Welcome back, everybody. It is our final segment. And John, I don't know if you have the text pulled up on your phone, but some interesting news out of the White House, specifically the Oval Office.
iHeart Advertising Announcer
Have at it.
John Solomon
Yeah. President Trump announcing just a few minutes ago he's been waiting for Pam Bondi to make this proclamation. I guess she didn't. So he did it. He is declaring that all pardons made by President Joe Biden that were signed by Autobahn are null and void. He put that up on Truth Social justice just a few minutes ago. The President United States declaring auto pen py. Auto pen pardons of his predecessor to be null and void. Joe Biden, you may want to wake up and take notice on this one. This is a big one. This was coming safe. Yeah, that was the one he wrote by hand. It shows you a little something about the president's priorities. But you've got people that have been released from prisons on commutations are going to have to be rounded back up. I assume this is going to end up in. Into courts. But I think the backstory here is that I think he got tired of waiting for the Justice Department to decide on this. James Comer did a great report, what, a month ago we had him on the show. So there you go.
Amanda Head
Could create some extra friction between President Trump and AG Bondi.
John Solomon
Yeah. Yeah. Or maybe she'll just have to do it now and just say, well, the boss said it, so I don't do my work on it. We'll just carry it out. So, but stay tuned on this one. I mean, like I said, there are people who've been released from prison already and we need to figure out what that status is. It's going to be a pretty amazing story, one that's not going to go away.
Amanda Head
There's eight bureaus of prison that are having headaches over this right now.
John Solomon
I'm sure another fun thing happened just about 20 minutes ago. Congresswoman Anna Polina Luna filed a discharge petition to force a vote on the Stock act.
Amanda Head
That's right.
John Solomon
To stop members of Congress from trading their own stocks. It is remarkable that the leadership of the House and the Senate have the courage to let this come to a vote. Our Congress does very little than what the American people Want.
Amanda Head
Oh, talk about gripping power to save your own hide. Goodness gracious. Okay, John, so do you know who Sabrina Carpenter is? Actually, you know, before I get to this, there is something heavier that I wanted to mention because we were talking about Venezuela. I actually went to Caracas in 1992 and what Rick was talking about, this, this change that has galvanic change has happened within one generation in just my lifetime. In 1992, it was thriving, it was beautiful, it was resource rich, it was efficient, and now had a great ally, the United States and a great ally. And now, you know, 30 something years later, it is unrecognizable.
John Solomon
It looks like a third world country, even though it has first world resources and first world infrastructure. I think we have two looking glass mirror moments in our country right now. One is Venezuela. If you think socialism is good, just take a look at what happened in Venezuela. And for those who want to keep ignoring the debt, just take a look at what's happening in Great Britain right now and the inability for Great Britain to manage its bills any longer. We're not that far from that moment. And we don't have any courageous leaders right now in Congress getting this done. But there are two looking glass mirror moments that, that everyone from young to old to take note of.
Amanda Head
Well, I have a looking glass mirror for Sabrina Carpenter, who criticized our great ice agents. The White House put out this video.
John Solomon
Yeah. Have you ever tried this one? Have you ever tried this one? Have you ever tried this one?
Amanda Head
So that is one of Sabrina Carpenter's songs in it. And she, she's on X. She didn't post this to her own profile, but she commented on the post from the White House. She said, this video is evil and disgusting. Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda. And I looked at the comments, John, and practically every single comment has to do with, you know, these are men and women in this country who came here illegally. Violent offenders who have murdered Americans and you want to side with them. So if she's looking in the looking glass, I don't imagine she's loving what she's seeing back.
John Solomon
Disney keeps turning out such amazingly bad adults.
Amanda Head
Was she a Disney star?
John Solomon
Oh, yeah.
Amanda Head
Look at you with the pop star knowledge over me.
John Solomon
It helps to have a son to watch the Disney Channel. I love it. I absolutely love it.
Amanda Head
All right, John, we've got some great reporting coming out tomorrow. Tell us about it.
John Solomon
Yeah, the great work by Jerry Dunleavy, who continues to dig in. So we know about the Afghans who came here because they're helping the military. There were Taliban low level civil servants. Taliban low level civil servants are going to report came into the country tomorrow. Wonder who vetted them. I bet nobody.
Amanda Head
That's what I'm guessing. Kind of falls in line in the wheelhouse of the Biden administration. All right, everybody, that's all the time we have for this evening. We're going to be back here tomorrow night at 6pm Eastern. Grant Central has all the headlines and he's going to take you through the next hour with those. See you tomorrow.
