Good evening, America. Welcome to the Wednesday edition of JUST THE news. No noise. I'm your host John Solomon reporting to you as always from our nation's capital, where all eyes are in two locations up on Capitol Hill where lawmakers just passed three spending bills, something you haven't done in a very long time. And in Tehran, where President Trump said just a short while ago he has it on good authority that the Iranians will stop executing protesters. That was a key condition to avoiding America attacking Iran. And we're keeping an eye on both of those big, major breaking stories. Meanwhile, we've got more to break for you tonight on Somali fraud. In Minnesota, federal agents investigating a Somali immigrant operation that moved massive amounts of cash in suitcases from the Minneapolis airport to overseas have uncovered a new leg of that courier journey. Guess where it was in the middle of America. Columbus, Ohio. That's right. Homeland Security Department officials told Just the NEWS that Transportation Security Administration officers tracked and flagged about 136 million in bulk cash that was an outbound luggage at the passenger checkpoints at John Glenn Columbus International airport just since November 2023. You know what? The Biden administration wasn't interested in asking what was going on. They just waved wave the cash flow. The official said the these transactions appear to have uncovered a massive cash movement operation that gathered money from multiple Somali immigrant communities, package it up, sent it to Minneapolis, where it would then be sent on flights overseas. It was essentially a foreign ATM cash machine. We're going to talk a lot more about that in a second when we get to our first guest, the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer. One last thing I want to quickly focus on because I think it's important. Earlier today we got word that the Clintons will face an extraordinary potential penalty for refusing to testify. I'm going to turn to my amazing cosmetic Ed. She has the very latest. Clinton and contempt, two words that may soon go together.
A
Yes, indeed. And I know a lot of folks are champing at the bit to see that happen. They just want to see investigations go somewhere. So, and as you said, I think our first guest, who is the chairman, James Comer, is going to have something to say, but he is now seeking to hold Bill and Hillary Clinton in criminal contempt, as John said, for failing to appear to testify in the Jeffrey Epstein probe. Now, the chairman spoke earlier today and he had some fire to deliver verbally. Check it out.
C
We're going to hold both Clintons in criminal contempt of Congress. We believe that because this subpoena was issued in a bipartisan fashion. The Democrats acted the day that the subpoenas were voted on in the subcommittee, like they wanted the Clintons to come because they, at that time, if you go back, they were wanting me to subpoena the estate, which I did. We subpoenaed the estate and got all the documents, everything. That was what the victims asked. That's what the Democrats asked. I think that's what the American people wanted. We subpoenaed the state, got 100% of the documents.
A
And he continued on stating that the Department of Justice and other entities have complied with the subpoenas issued to them, except for the Clintons. And he also slammed Bill Clinton for attempting to play the victim. So what are the Clintons excuses for not showing up to testify? Well, on Bill Clinton's X page, there's a letter explaining why they decided not to appear in court. Now, part of the letter reads, the subpoenas issued to President and Secretary Clinton are invalid and legally unenforceable. Mindful of these defects, we trust you will engage in good faith to de escalate this dispute. So feeling maybe a little bit of the hot seat, John will obviously, we will obviously be staying on top of this. But you look at other people during, oh, I don't know, Joe Biden's administration who didn't, didn't come comply with the request to show up, and they didn't.
B
On the show about a month or two ago, told the Clintons, if you don't come, you're going to get banned. He turned bannon into a verb. Everyone knows what that means, and we'll see what it is. It would be historic. First president in American history to face a contempt charge. Yeah. If you don't comply, you got to be ready to do the time. All right. Earlier today we had a chance to sit with the chairman, Chairman Comer, talk about everything from that Somali fraud to the Clintons. A lot of news and there's some big headlines. Take a watch. Hi. Joining us now, a man in the middle of some of the biggest stories to strike Washington. I'm talking about in decades, whether it's the largest fraud scandal we have seen in my lifetime or the possibility that a former president of the United States, Bill Clinton, and his wife, the former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, may be facing criminal contempt charges. Joining us now, the man driving both of those investigations, the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer. Sir, good to have you back on the show.
C
Always a pleasure.
B
Big announcement today, January 22nd judgment day for the Clintons. Do you have the votes? Do you think there will be a vote to find them in contempt?
C
We've always had the votes in committee, but I'm confident to report now that we've got the votes on the floor. And that was always something that for whatever reason, the media would spook the moderates into trying to hold anyone accountable with a contempt vote on the full floor. But I think the American people have spoken loud and clear. They want to know the truth about Epstein. And Bill Clinton spent as much time with Jeffrey Epstein as any other high profile person who's been named in this whole investigation. So the American people expect Bill Clinton to show up for a subpoena. And I think the Republicans are going to vote and we might even get a few Democrats vote to hold the Clintons in contempt.
B
Wow.
A
Wow. Incredible. Mr. Chairman, when it comes to them showing up and answering questions, do you get the sense from them that it is an attitude of, well, no one's going to do anything about it if we don't show up, or is it that there's a lot of information and a lot of questions they don't want to answer? Or is it both?
C
I think it's all of the above. Look, the first day yesterday when the Clintons didn't show the mainstream media was, was pretty accurate in their reporting. There was no one really at that time attacking me. They were saying the obvious, that Clinton got a lawful subpoena that was voted on in a bipartisan manner. Democrats and Republicans alike voted to subpoena the Clintons along with a bunch of former attorneys general, Republicans and Democrats. Everyone else has responded except the Clinton. And the media was fair. Now, today, on day two, the. The Clintons have looked to me, constructed a war room. They got Abbey Lowell, dusted him off. Hopefully Abby Loell will get paid this time for representing a client, unlike he did the last time and got stiffed by the Clintons. Yeah, hopefully, you know, but they, they've started having protesters. They've started. I had a press conference and they had a disruptor there, a paid disruptor. So, you know, the media's kind of turned a little more hostile today after they've gotten their marching orders from the Democrat, you know, indoctrination machine. So we'll see. But I think most Democrats on the committee are pretty disappointed that the Clintons didn't show up because he's a key witness in this.
B
Yeah, there's no doubt about it. I want to turn to the other big story that you've been working on. You've been documenting just how widespread this Democratic run fraud machine is. Lots of blue states, they were all sanctuary states. They lure immigrants to illegal immigrants to their areas to jack up their apportionment numbers and then they allow fraud to go on. Certainly that's what happened in Minnesota. Looks like California, Illinois. We've been tracking with the help of the Transportation Security Administration hundreds of millions of dollars that left the Minnesota airport out of Minneapolis. It was logged, it was flagged, but no one in the Biden administration was interesting interested in looking at it. 700 million out of Minneapolis to overseas. 136 million that comes in from Ohio, moves to Minneapolis and then goes overseas. Both from Somali communities, both from Somali only couriers. It looks like some sort of foreign ATM cash machine was running out of Minnesota. What if anything do you know about it or what can we do to get to the bottom of what happened there?
C
Well, I love to follow money. Cash is hard to trace. So they're very a professional organization. If they know that it would obviously be a lot easier to do wire money from the United States to Somalia. But if they're transporting in cash, they're doing that to obviously try to make it difficult to trace. Now what I would like to know is where did they get the cash? Some bank, some financial institution has to cash a bunch of checks and the bank should have had to fill out some type of suspicious activity report or something if someone's accumulating that much cash. So I think what we need to try to find out, John, is where were they going to cash these checks? These financial institutions should have record to that because that's just a lot of cash in suitcases going to other countries. Obviously the reason they're doing it is to, is to try to throw anyone that would be doing a typical traditional investigation off. But I think the source of the cash would be a good starting point in addition to the programs that were defrauded.
B
I want to ask just if I could follow up real quickly. They're only according to the tsa, like four or five, just a handful of these Somali couriers that handled all these transactions. Are they the sort of people that you might subpoena to find out why they were moving so much cash and luggage?
C
Yeah, if we get specific names, they'll be, they'll be receiving subpoenas as quick as we can get them out the door because we are serious about this. This is a widespread professional organization. It doesn't appear Minnesota is the only state, but this is where we've got whistleblowers on the ground. We've got state employees who are communicating with us, who are providing documents. They're scared to death, especially with the riots and stuff that are taking place in Minnesota. And again, that's kind of like what we talked about with what Clinton's doing to me in the last few hours, trying to have disruptors and protesters and turn hostile and try to intimidate, distract. That's what happened in Minnesota. We find this fraud, you know, the citizen journalist, his video goes viral. The Department of Justice rolls in, Homeland Security rolls in. You know, you hud, Department of ag, they roll in. Oversight Committee rolls in. And now you've got chaos in Minnesota. And the story, you know, the media goes from the fraud to the. To the chaos in Minnesota. That's a Democrat business model. True and true. So we need names of people, and we will. We will subpoena them as quick as possible.
A
One name that's sticking out in this investigation, in the conversation. John actually had a great conversation with Tom, Tom Emmer yesterday, the House whip, and he indicated to John that. That Tim Walls, the governor of that state, considering the fact that he seems like he knew a lot about it, that he should be in handcuffs, do you see things going in that direction, too?
C
I sure hope so. I mean it. According to the whistleblowers that we're communicating with, they've warned Waltz and Ellison, the Attorney General, for years that this fraud was taking place. Not only did Ellison and Waltz turned a blind eye, they retaliated and intimidated anyone that was brave enough to come forward within the state government to say that there's fraud taking place. So, you know, that's the case. That's going to have to be proven. We're looking into that. We've got lots of allegations, and we're doing everything in our ability to verify, to see if that's the truth. That is, in fact, true, and they retaliated against whistleblowers, then I think that's a crime that should end in some type of arrest, because that's a very serious crime. To intimidate whistleblowers to be incompetent is not a crime. There'll be a lot of Democrats in prison right now. But if you knowingly turned a blind eye to fraud and even further, if you intimidated whistleblowers, then that certainly is a crime.
B
That's great. If this guy, this whole Congress thing doesn't work out, a comedy show, I'll tell you, that was a pretty good line. That was pretty funny. Before we let you go with all the great and important work you're doing, we are moving down and I think to a point now where I think Americans understand that the last 10 years there was sort of a Democratic playbook. The first thing was change the rules of the census so illegal aliens would count towards apportionment and representation and federal fund allocation. Then open up the borders, then lure them to the battleground states where you wanted them to be to jack up your numbers, then let them get on welfare. And then if they stole from welfare, you just look the other way. Is the Democrat. Was this a conspiracy? Was this sort of an effort to eviscerate American laws to gain political advantage?
C
No question, 100%. This was a coordinated effort to get more Democrat voters into these states. And, you know, when we talk about welfare, a lot of people don't understand Medicaid. They get Medicare and Medicaid confused. Medicaid is supposed to be a temporary safety net. In Minnesota, 86% of the Somalis are on Medicaid. That is free healthcare. You don't pay one penny into it like we pay into Medicare and all that. Medicaid is free health care. So 86% of the Somali population of Minnesota gets full free health care in addition to food stamps and housing and transportation and this, you know, obviously daycare and things like that. So this is completely an effort to create a huge voting bloc. And they have. They're in, you know, a majority of a congressional district now is Somali. And they elected a Somali member, Ms. Omar, to Congress. And Minnesota continues to be a Democrat state. When every other Midwestern state went Republican the last time, Minnesota still taking the Democrat column, and it was because of this Somali population. Not only do they vote, they now contribute a lot of money to Democrat candidates. And I think a source of this money is probably a lot of these fraudulent schemes taking place.
B
Stunning. Well, we wouldn't know a quarter of this if it wasn't for the great work that you've done, Mr. Chairman. You always follow the money, you always follow the facts. And we all benefit because we finally get the truth, often truth that we were denied a long time. Great honor to have you on the show today, sir. Thanks for joining us.
C
Thanks for the great work you guys do.
B
Thank you, sir. What a great interview. What amazing conversation. Jeez. All right, folks, don't go anywhere. We got more ahead. We're going to stay in Congress. Congresswoman Mary Miller from Illinois going to join us next to discuss more about that fraud within government entitlement programs. And as well as insider trading. A big, big test vote coming up on that soon. We'll have all of that next right after these messages.

A T shirt and jeans, Mac and cheese, oceans and sunsets. Some things in life are an obvious match, like RIAS and Schwab Advisor Services, the number one choice for independent advisors looking for a custodian who can help them go further. With all the wealth, services, technology and support an RIA firm needs. The difference is so obvious.

It's Schwabius.

Welcome back, everybody, to Just the news. No noise. 2026 just started and already Congress has a lot to do. And chief among that list is getting a handle on fraud. That includes in Congress and what we've been seeing with all the Somali fraud scandals just the News has been reporting to you. And that, of course, dovetails with what the president is doing to cut illegal immigration, which has been a massive drain on the country's coffers. And of course, as it turns out, it's a drain on your wallet as well. So joining us now to talk about all of that and more is Illinois Congresswoman Mary Miller. Congresswoman, great to have you back. Thanks so much for being with us tonight.
E
Thank you for having me. I'm real excited to share about some of the things that are going on.
A
Absolutely. And you know, when it comes to fraud, just to stay on that for a moment, I don't want to paint the whole state of Illinois with a broad brush. It's not that Illinois is known for fraud. It's just that Chicago, you know, Chicago has been known for its sports for nearly a century at this point. But I know that you have called for transparency and accountability in blue states, especially like the one that you represent, Illinois.
E
Yes. And I think the best way to force them is to cut off their funding. And if they are not going to release their voter rolls, their SNAP rolls, their Medicaid rolls, I think we should cut off the federal funding until they do. Also, Illinois is one of the states issuing driver's licenses and CDL licenses to unve people that don't speak our language. It is crazy. But I have a bill to cut off highway funding, federal highway funding to states like Illinois.
B
So important. Did we lose the congresswoman? Looks like we might have, huh?
A
Yeah.
B
All right. We're going to try, folks, to get her back on here. Hopefully come right in. A lot of connectivity issues with Verizon and all the other cell services down. She's working on the True Stock act, the one that would actually prevent lawmakers from trading. Zach, whether in Congress, I've been covering this issue for 15 years. This is the one that, this is the one that's going to do. It's amazing. I think we have the congresswoman back. Look at that. Perfect timing. Congresswoman, while you were, while we're trying to get that signal back up, we were bragging about this very important bill which you have been playing such an important role on, to restore American trust in Congress by banning lawmakers from being able to trade individual stocks. Tell us a little bit about it. You got it through markup today, correct?
E
Yes. Well, of course, House Republicans want transparency and accountability. And we have such an opportunity here to make meaningful change and to restore accountability to Congress. The Stop Insider Trading act was marked up in the House Administration Committee today, and it will ban congressmen and women, their spouses and their dependent children from doing stock trading while they're in Congress.
A
That's so important. Have you noted, have you sensed that along the way it's been hard to get folks from both sides? I know you said that Republicans support it, but when you look at these long lists of folks on Capitol Hill who have benefited from certain very wise stock trades, I guess we should say it's folks from both sides.
E
It is. But I believe that they're going to vote for it. I think the American people want this. To trade stocks using insider information is a serious crime. It should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. And to have lawmakers who sit on key committees getting insider information then using it for their private benefit is super insulting to the American people. And, you know, now the Democrats are whining, it doesn't go far enough. This is a good bill. It's a big step forward. And also they had their chance to make some significant changes. They did nothing. And instead, their former leader, Nancy Pelosi, has become the face of corruption and insider trading. And I think her stock portfolio was under $1 million when she came into Congress. And now it's valued at over $130 million. Totally offensive.
A
Nauseating.
B
Yeah, it's amazing. I want to turn to something else because you've become an important ally, President Trump, on so many different things. He, he's working to improve the housing market, make it affordable again for young people to have that American dream. He has an executive order to ban large institutional investors from buying up homes. Looks like you're going to bring companion legislation to codified into law. Tell us about it.
E
Yes, we're working on it right now. And President Trump has proven that the American family is important to him. He's going to fight for him and he knows that home ownership is part of the American dream. And so I'm working on legislation to codify his efforts. And you know, when we allow institutional investors to buy up single family homes in bulk like they have, it shrinks the supply and drives the price up. So this is good news. The Americans under the age of 35 right now, only 30% of them own homes. And a generation ago that was double. And I think a lot of it is because of public policy. So combined with mass deportations and getting control of our immigration, I believe we're going to see housing prices go down and much more availability for people.
A
That's great. And you know, you look at a lot of these large corporations and venture capital firms who have purchased up these homes already, what happens to them? Will they be forced to offload that as an asset, I guess, at fair market value so it can be available to Americans?
E
Well, we're still working on that in the legislation and working on the numbers, like how big of an asset corporation is going to be impacted. So we don't want to impact regional developers, so we're being careful on that. But it's going to be good for the average American home buyer.
A
Absolutely. We love everything you are doing, Congresswoman. I know you've got to go get to the floor, so thank you so much for spending time with us tonight. Welcome. Absolutely. Alright, everybody, we're going to take a very quick break and we have much more for you on the other side.
B
All right, folks. Doctors call it weight cycling. Half of Americans do it. It's when you lose about 10 pounds, but then you regain that weight plus a few extra. It's very tough in your body and can leave you feeling really frustrated. Bottom line, most people need help losing weight. And here's a great way. Non prescription Lean was created by doctors. Code just news@takelean.com that's code just news@takelean.com. Welcome back, America. A question I get a lot these days, particularly as people read about all the fraud that we've been uncovering here at Just the News and other news organizations like how big is it? How bad is it? Our next guest has been tracking it for a long time and quite frankly, his work over the last couple has been so important to us. Understanding the fleecing of America that went on with Obamacare or the unaffordable Care act, as Republicans are now beginning to call it. Joining us now to bring us up to speed on where the next big fraud shoes may just fall, special former special assistant to the president for economic policy and now Paragon Health Institute's president, Brian Blais. Brian, great to have you back on the show.
F
It is great to be here. Thanks for having me on.
B
It seems like if you spend any time in any entitlement or welfare or public assistance program, you suddenly find fraud, food stamps, Medicaid, autism support programs for parents. It goes on and on and on. How did we build a system that gave so much money away and didn't care where it was going?
F
You know, the American welfare state grew large and unsustainable and unaccountable. And then we had the pandemic. And during the pandemic, there was so much additional money thrown on top of those programs. And the Biden administration had an approach of maximizing enrollment and really turning a blind eye to proper management and stewardship of those dollars. So you have just underlying bad incentives. And in Medicaid, the underlying bad incentive is that states are making expenditures with mostly federal dollars. So when states spend more, they get more from the federal government. Obamacare expanded Medicaid and made those incentives worse. For the Obamacare expansion population, the federal government pays at least 90% of the total bill. So when states spend a dollar of their own money, they're able to get $9 from the federal government. So all of this waste in Minnesota, the vast majority is paid by taxpayers outside the state of Minnesota. And the fraud that we see in Minnesota is not dissimilar. I mean, it takes different forms. The daycares with the lack of children in them. The autism fraud is particularly egregious in Minnesota, but there are fraud schemes throughout the country in the Medicaid program. They exploded during COVID and during the Biden administration. And the American taxpayers and hardworking Americans are getting fleeced.
B
Yeah.
A
That's unfortunate. So, Brian, when it comes to these state expenditures that use federal funds, we just had Congresswoman Mary Miller on the show, who is Advocating for in instances of fraud, cutting off that federal funding. Is that the answer or is that too broad of a stroke?
F
It's the essential step. The federal government is bankrolling the fraud and waste and abuse in the states. And as long as states can draw on an open checkbook from Washington, they don't have incentives to make sure that dollars are appropriately spent. You know, I do think Dr. Oz, CMS, he's the head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The Trump administration is starting to take some action to rein in what's gone on in Minnesota. But honestly we need to catch these things much sooner. I mean we shouldn't have to rely on amateur investigators going into daycares, finding out that there's no children there. Like the government has access to this data. They know where there are areas that have seen explosive spending. They need to target significant fraud, anti fraud measures there. Another example is New York. In New York there is an explosion of Medicaid funded home health aides. This is often people that are taking care of relatives. The largest job growth by far in the state of New York has been Medicaid financed home health aides. The amount of fraud, actually 7% of all new Yorkers that have jobs are Medicaid home health aides. The amount of fraud and abuse in that program in that state is egregious. California has a fraud with their hospice program which CMS is looking at. I mean we need from a federal perspective to spend enormous more attention on these fraud schemes and to make recoveries and to stop the flow of money. That is the only thing that is going to change the behavior of these state officials is if they can't just offset the cost to federal taxpayers.
B
Yeah. So I want to ask about something. I saw you explain this to Congress brilliantly. Although maybe Senator Blumenthal had a hard time getting his hand around head around it, but most people got it. In 2023 we had about 16 and a half million people on Obamacare and then suddenly under Joe Biden it goes to 24 million like overnight couple of years. Now there's pretty strong evidence that that big jump was maybe fraudulent. Maybe just an effort to get more money to health insurers and to juice the numbers so Joe Biden can make it look better. Tell us what you found and how significant that fraud could be. And could there be some prosecution that results from what we're beginning to learn about the number manipulation?
F
Yeah, so thanks for that John. I'm going to walk you through improper enrollment and then Phantom enrollment. The Biden administration, and this is the Democrat Congress, when they had power in 2021 and 2022, they used budget reconciliation and they jammed through an expansion of Obamacare subsidies. Now, these are subsidies that go directly to health insurance companies. That expansion made the coverage fully subsidized for individuals who claimed income within a narrow income band. What we did was assess the number of people enrolled in that narrow income band with the actual eligible people enrolled across the country in that income band. And in 2025, we estimated at least 6.4 million more people enrolled in those free plans than were eligible for those plans. How did that happen? Insurers are getting subsidies that cover the full premium. And what unscrupulous brokers and these enrollment intermediaries did is that they advertised cash, gift cards and free Obamacare plans. People called these numbers, they wanted cash, they wanted a gift card. They were told, well, first they had to give their name, birth date, source, security number, and they were signed up for a health insurance plan. They never got their cash, they never got their gift card, they got a free Obamacare plan. Most of the time they didn't even realize they were actually enrolled because they don't have a premium payment. The premium is paid entirely by the government. And every month that the individual is enrolled, the insurer is cutting a check to the entity that enrolled them. There were some brokers that were making $6,000 a day in commissions because they were enrolling so many. So we enrolled a whole bunch of people who didn't know that they were covered. Some of them just fictitious individuals. What would you expect next? You expect? Well, a lot of these people don't use any health care services. And what we found is that 40% of the enrollees in fully subsidized plans didn't use their health plan a single time when they were covered in 2024. To give you some sense of how big that is, that is two and a half times higher than what you would expect in a well functioning insurance market. So the government was sending massive checks to insurance companies who were making windfall profits on behalf of people that didn't use any health care.
A
Boy, oh boy. So if you trim the profits for insurance companies, you're not fleecing Americans for the tax dollars. Does that bring the price of Obamacare down if it was indeed a pure system?
F
I mean, insurance companies are making in the Obamacare market, 85% of all of their revenue now comes from the taxpayer. So they don't have incentives to offer products that are low priced. That appeal to patients. Their primary client now is the US treasury and they're so dependent on the federal government for their revenue source. That's why insurance companies are spending hundreds of millions of dollars lobbying Congress to continue this gravy train of these enhanced Obamacare subsidies. What we need to get back to is a system where insurance companies have to serve patients and families and that they are competing for patients and families, spending their own money rather than just being the pigs at the trough competing for more federal subsidies.
B
It's just such an amazing story. And Brian, all the great data that Paragon Health Institute has been providing has been at the heart of this debate. We had no visibility into how this sham sort of worked. And now we have a lot of it and we're really grateful for that. For folks who are listening, if they want to learn more, what's the best way for them to get in touch or to take advantage of the great work Paragon's doing?
F
Yeah, thanks. So Our website is paragoninstitute.org if you go to the top right of the website, you'll see a link to newsletter. We send out a weekly newsletter that contains all of our most recent research and analysis. And you can follow me on Twitter Brian. Brian with an I underscore Blaise B.
B
L A S E. Yeah, important must read stuff. I subscribe to newsletter. It's a tremendous, tremendous benefit. Brian, thanks for making us a lot wiser tonight. Great to have you on the show.
F
Happy to come on anytime. Thank you.
B
Yeah, I'll take you up on that. All right, folks, a little bit of breaking news just happened. The Senate voted to allow President Trump to continue to make strikes in Venezuela if necessary without seeking a War War Powers act resolution from Congress. Two Republican senators defected from their earlier votes. They originally voted against President Trump. Now they voted for President Trump. Josh Hawley, Todd Young switched their votes. J.D. vance came in, broke the tie, 5150. President Trump scores another victory in his foreign policy. That just happened. It's moving over. Adjust the news right now. All right, when we come back for the break, President Trump is supercharging the economy. But there are some warning signs that may affect your retirement if you're not invested in the right things. We'll tell you all about that and what you can do about it right after these messages. Hey folks, have you heard about being micro tired? Welcome back, everybody, to just the news. No noise. The Fed is under investigation. Gold just hit a new record and Washington is borrowing more than it can repay. It feels like that is an updated headline every time we have these conversations. And if that isn't a system flashing warning signs, I am not really sure what is. So here to explain what this means for your savings is Shannon Davis, CEO of American Alternative Assets. Shannon, thanks so much for being with us tonight.
G
Of course. Thanks for having me.
A
Absolutely. You know, every time Jay Powell gets out there, I always sense that he's a little bit nervous. He seems a little shaky. And obviously under this administration, there's been plenty of barbs thrown in both directions. But what do you make of this? Obviously, Powell is under pressure. You got deficits exploding Gold. New height, height, height, height, height. Every time we talk.
G
Oh, yeah, every time. It's a, it's a common thread these days. Silver, like I've been saying. And platinum to you guys as well. Absolutely. On a launching pad. But yeah, the pressure's on. Look, his jobs come and do here what, May 15th. So Trump's putting some pressure on it. The way we see it, you know, this is what happens when a system runs out of road. The dog DOJ is going after the Fed is all about Control the way we see it, CBDC Central bank Digital currency Stablecoin. You know it's rattling the markets. Markets are down today. The dollars dipped. Gold surge like you said, past $4,600 man, it's up 70 plus percent this year. And then meanwhile our debt just hits higher and higher. All time highs as well. 38, almost 39 trillion. Interest is just 1 trillion a year. So costs are going up and you know it's something to pay attention to for sure.
B
Yeah, there's no doubt. I want to ask a little bit about a term I never heard until recently. But I did hear it first by reading your amazing guides. I love the great stuff that, that American alternative assets makes available to consumers and make them smarter. Gold revaluation. I never thought I'd ever hear that term. Tell us what it is and how it works.
G
Yeah, it sounds complicated but it's actually been done before. You got to go back in history, back in time, getting that time machine. But back in 1934, the government raised gold's official price from $20 to $35 to devalue the dollar and reduce the real burden of debt. So it ties right into all time highs with our debt. Today the treasury still lists gold at $42 an ounce and as we just said, it's over $4,600. So repricing gold could instantly shift hundreds and billions back into the government's balance sheet. And this is what's been a growing need is more capital since countries aren't buying Treasuries. Got to figure out a sneakier way to manage the debt without calling it a default.
A
Would it be on the same level? Because from from 20 to 35 that's a 75% increase. Would it be on that same scale?
G
Would be even bigger. I mean some, you know, some of the smartest economists out there are calling for gold to be when something like that happens, you know, hitting $24,000 an ounce. I mean this is with the numbers they're talking about. When it comes to some of the smartest economists in the world, Jim Rickards, who ran a big piece of our government, this is what he's calling. So it's going to be much bigger than that.
A
Amanda, wait, wait, wait. So will we get a warning? Will there be a fire sale before the price goes up?
G
I think, you know, that's a great question actually and that's a key question. You know, you definitely want to position yourself before, not after. If gold is revalued again, it's probably, it probably Won't be announced like you're asking in advance, but you know, people will see that it's moving and you're going to want to make a move. That's why we put together the free report. Another one for you guys called Trump's 24,000 panic button. Like not, not panic in a bad way. Like run and make sure you have some physical gold and silver. And that's what we're explaining in that guide. But you'll see it you, gold and silver aren't hiding anymore. Wouldn't you guys agree?
B
No, no, no. It's essential to anyone who's in the market today. I mean, even people that are in their 60s and 70s, I think they're getting every time like, oh, I'm getting in gold. It is a remarkable moment. Give us some advice. All right, I'm nearing retirement. What should I do? I'm starting my retirement plan. My young guy, young gal, what would you suggest doing in this environment where that gold revaluation is really becoming a topic?
G
Yeah, that's a great question. You know, what we, what we educate a lot of our older customers on is, you know, take your profits. You know, the market's done well, that's not hard to see, but at some point it will correct. There's a lot of bad money in there, a lot of borrowed money, money that has to be refinanced, money that was zero percent. So take your profits. If you're 75, 70 years old, shift those profits into gold and silver. We can help you do that by rolling it over tax deferred and penalty free if you're under the age of 59 and a half. But take your profits, store your wealth, pass on a legacy to your family. And it starts with one of my favorite things to say too. Go to johnlikesgold.com get your free guide, request a call or call us at 855-gold340. That's where you start. Give us a call, make a friend. We'll talk to you about what we can do and what we can't do.
B
I love it.
A
I think that would be. I think the Steve Miller Band would like your advice. Take the money and run is what it sounds like you're saying.
E
See, yeah.
A
CEO of American Alternative Assets, Shannon Davis. Great to see you. Thanks for being here. Absolutely. Yep. And folks, you can download those free guys right now. It is called the one that he was talking about, Trump's twenty four thousand dollar panic button. And it walks you through everything. So go to johnlikesgold.com to get your copy or call 855 Gold 340. That's johnlikesgold.com or 8. 5 Gold, 5 Gold 340. We're going to take a quick break. We have one more segment on the other side. Welcome back, everybody. As many of you know, on this show, we are a thin blue line. And that, of course, applies to our Immigration and Customs Enforcement. And John, our borders are. Tom Homan was talking about that ICE agent in Minneapolis who unfortunately now, as Homan puts it, is now in hiding, which is absolutely devastating and unfortunate that in this day and age you have people who are so willing to come after him with torches that he's got. He's got to sequester himself. He's got to hibernate.
B
Yeah, listen, this is the boiling pressure cooker that the Democrats have created in our country. And, and it's no longer just a form of protest or silly policy ideas they want to put out there. They're using hate and intimidation and fear and violence to do it. You look at some of the things that these people do. I saw a video that Senator Marshall Blackman brought to my attention in Tennessee. Some guy claims he was run over by a car. He actually fakes it, but he does actually jump in front of a moving ICE car and hold onto the, the bumper. I mean, that's not what you're supposed to do in America. No. And they don't care about civility anymore. And I think that is a very dangerous moment in American society when one half of the country or one party of the country endorses uncivil unrest. I think we're in an uncivil unrest moment. And for everyone who's in a position of power that wears a D on their sleeve, this is your moment to act like a man and a woman. Step up and rein it in before it gets out of control. Because it's going to, it's going to spiral if this doesn't calm down a little bit. And I haven't seen too many responsible Democrats the last few weeks.
A
And the thing is, is that you hear so many Democrats on Capitol Hill, but they're in Minneapolis as well who say, you know, people deserve due process. They are, they are breaking the law in these protests. They are not. This is not peaceful protests.
B
No. This isn't sit ins.
A
No.
B
This is throwing rocks and snowballs and ramming cars. I saw a report today that that ace agent had some internal bleeding in the hip and leg from how hard he was hit. You don't hear that in the mainstream media. I'm glad that Holman told us he has to be in hiding so we know just how bad the threat is. But it is a. It's shameful and we're better than this. And the Democrats should realize that we're better than this. I had a fun moment watching Ron DeSantis State of the State address yesterday. He turned. Yeah, he turned Zoran Mandami's line around. We in Florida love freedom and not collectivism. It was a funny line. And it shows you how easy I think, the Republicans are in being able to contrast himself to the insanity that now is playing out around the country.
A
Well, there's plenty of fodder on the left. And just to show that, I mean, looking, I saw a number of reports today that said that 60 former Minneapolis police officers who have recently resigned have now applied for positions at ice.
B
How about that? Isn't that great? That's an amazing story. I love that.
A
On a lighter note, I wanted to bring this up. So I have been drinking whole milk for a long time. I drank skim when I was growing up, and then I realized that it really was just one step away from water. And then I went all the way and I started drinking whole, you know, organic. I try to try to drink raw milk, but it's not really legal. So you just have to kind of get it where you can. But it was a big day in the Oval Office. President Trump officially endorsing whole milk.
B
Yes. I signed into law this effort for whole milk for our children. I have two gallons of milk and we're both all milk. Big milk acres. But I insist on just drinking whole milk. My wife likes the thinner version, but.
A
That'S how I like it.
B
Oh, sure I do. I love mice in my milk. Yeah, It's. We are going back to, you know, many times our good friends in our science segments, our health segments have been saying, go back to what grandma and grandpa used to do when they cooked your meals. By the way, we're all thinner, healthier, more active back then. And I think that's the food pit pyramid flip that occurred with RFK and President Trump. It's taking us back to an era when our grandma and grandpa cooked great food and we were a heck of a lot healthier than all that processed crap we stuck in the microwave.
A
Speaking of grandparents, I know this is a few weeks too late, but I don't know, is this a tradition here? You guys are not close enough. I feel like to the Mason Dixon Line, you're not further south enough. On New Year's Day you eat black eyed peas and collard greens. No, that's not a thing here.
B
Not a Virginia food.
A
Well, speaking of eating like grandparents, that's what we would do on New Year's Day.
B
I don't like all those foods, but.
A
Well, apparently the tradition goes that for every black eyed pea you eat on New Year's Day, that's another dollar in the new year.
B
Wow.
A
Yeah, I never tested the theory out.
B
Because I think you're wealthy doing that.
A
Don't like black eyed peas. All right, so Mayor Mamdani finally spoke out about what we are seeing in Iran. And you might be, I dare say, pleasantly surprised at what he said. He said, I absolutely do not support the way the Iranian government has responded to that. Talking about these protests, he said, I think the Iranian government and every government should respect the right of people to express their political opinions and for people to be able to do so safely. Now, that second part of that, of course, was a sideswipe about what's happening with ice, but it really doesn't apply there. It was a very stupid contrast for him to draw because what these as we already talked about this.
B
But anyway, yeah, listen, I've seen a couple of the far lefties do something somewhat responsible. I guess Mamdani's statement there was a little bit more responsible AOC speaking out against these anti Semitic protests that are marching through Jewish neighborhoods trying to intimidate people. So good on them. Takes a little courage to do that in the crazy party that they created for themselves and now preside over. It's not far enough, but there are little signs that maybe ounce of common sense is eking in occasionally, not. Not too often, but occasionally.
A
Yeah. All right. So John, do you anticipate going into MLK Day that there will be any more drummed up controversy by the left? Remember when they said that President Trump removed the bust from the Oval Office?
B
Yeah. There'll be something, I'm sure. Listen, I think the greatest thing we can do on this mlk, remind people what MLK said and really meant. He didn't want people to be divided by race and skin like the Democrats have been doing the last 10 years. That is something we all should celebrate. We're going to have a guest who's making a movement doing that through schools on the show on Monday.
A
I love it. Judged by the heart and not by your skin. I love it. All right, everybody, that's all the time we have for tonight. So we are going to check out for this evening we'll be back here tomorrow night at 6:00pm Eastern.

The tone is urgent, skeptical towards Democratic leadership, and passionate about exposing perceived corruption or fraud. The hosts employ humor (especially with Rep. Comer and during lighter cultural segments) but keep the focus on accountability, transparency, and economic risk—framing each issue as vital to the survival of American values and prosperity.
This episode is a comprehensive, albeit partisan, look at several hot-button policy, investigative, and cultural issues shaping the political narrative as Congress kicks off 2026. Insightful for those interested in government oversight, economic trends, and accountability in public office.
