Good evening America. Happy Tuesday and welcome to the latest edition of JUST THE News. No Noise. I'm your host John Solomon reporting to you as always from the Nation's capital, Washington, D.C. of course, news about Iran is still dominating the headlines tonight and we have some more to report to you. First from Justin News very own Jerry Dunley. Jerry Dunleavy, who is reporting about some critical foreign influence being run here in the United States. It turns out Chinese state run media is helping to promote Astroturf far left protests against the US Strikes on Iran through a financial network in league with the infamous radical left financier and multimillionaire Neville Roy Singham. That is all because China actually has a lot of stake in the Iran conflict. The key word here is energy. President Trump already cut off one of China's energy sources in Venezuela and he's going after another one in Iran. And that is why the CCP is allegedly trying to destabilize the conflict here at home. Immediately after the start of the weekend's US Military led operation striking Iran's leadership and military sides taking out the Supreme Leader. Street protests opposing the conflict with Iran were quickly organized in New York City and in other national cities by the leftist act now to Stop War and End Racism Coalition, the Marxist revolutionary group known as the People's Forum, our left anti war group, Code Pink and the Party for Socialism and Liberation. If all those names sound familiar, it's because we've been tracking them for the last two years here in the United States. These are groups that use our tax code to be shielded from having to pay federal taxes. They're treated as nonprofits and yet they're fomenting this very difficult protest. Sometimes they were fomenting a blockade of federal law enforcement trying to carry out ICE operations in Minnesota, among other places. Now the Chinese are enjoying their messaging and are echoing at the Chinese state run outlets over the past few days touted the anti war protests approvingly. Quoted from a People's Forum leader at length. Think about that. We're giving the People's Forum a tax break. They're creating propaganda that even our enemies in China think is appropriate for them. We got a lot more ahead on that in the show today, including with two of our members of Congress here to kick us off. Congresswoman Beth Van Dyne from the great state of Texas and the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. Back to back right here. Just use no noise at this point. It's a good time to bring in my amazing co host Amanda Head. I think she's got some more headlines you've been tracking. Amanda, busy day at the White House. What was top of mind for you?
Dave
Yes, absolutely. I do actually want to get to a few other headlines. Now, the president obviously succeeded in eliminating the supreme leader of Iran. But our cities here at home remain under threat by radical Islam. And at the same time, Democrats continue to refuse to come to an agreement with Republicans on reopening the government. They are holding firm on their demand to defund the Department of Homeland Security. And speaking on the homeland, here's what Democrat Eric Swalwell had to say on that matter.
Amanda Head
Listen, I see protecting the homeland is also protecting the vulnerable immigrants who are running through the fields and factories where they work. Or the woman who's been dragged by her hair and thrown into an unmarked van. Or the allies in Minnesota, you know, a nurse named Pretty and a mom named Good who were publicly executed. And so if they can put in place reforms that end that, that stop the roving terror, Democrats are with them.
Dave
So protecting the homeland is not about protecting American citizens. He would rather prioritize illegal immigrants and criminals. Got it. Well, let me show you exactly what radical Islam thinks about our country. Here is a Shiite mosque in Dearborn, Texas, holding a memorial for Ali Khamenei. Yes, what they had to say.

Dave
Extremists here in our country calling the country that they live in satanic. And yet Democrats like Congressman Eric Swalwell don't seem to be too concerned about it. But luckily we have patriots like DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and US Senator Lindsey Graham pushing back. Here is Senator Graham's response.
Mint Mobile Sponsor
Can we not understand?
Mark Morgan
America is under siege now likely to be attacked because radical Islam is under siege and they're going to hit back. And we're sitting here looking at each

Dave
And I know a lot of people don't agree with Senator Lindsey Graham on a lot of things, but I think he hit the nail on the head with this. Our cities are vulnerable, and Democrats are looking to defund the same department responsible for protecting them. Now, many people watch President Trump say in his State of the Union address, these people are crazy. And I think that a lot of people look at these examples and they think, gosh, they're not just crazy, John, they're getting crazier.
Amanda Head
Yeah, no, absolutely. You're living on our soil and then calling us the Great Satan. Echoing the words of the Iranian terrorist leaders. Confusing. And by the way, some of those groups on the ground that were protesting ise, now they're protesting Iran, you kind of get the sense that they really just want to protest. They're echoing things and doing things at the behest of the American taxpayer. They're getting these tax breaks. They don't have to pay taxes on this money. So we're letting these groups foment this unrest and violence and propaganda for our enemies with our tax code. Jason Smith two years ago sent a letter saying poll their nonprofit status and nothing has yet happened, even under President Trump. Someone who's been talking about that for a long time and a whole lot more of common sense things represents the great state of Texas, Congresswoman Beth Van Dyne, and she joins us at the top of the show today. Congresswoman, great to have you back on the show.
John Solomon
Thank you. Lots to talk about.
Amanda Head
I want to talk. Yeah. Oh, my goodness, you aren't kidding. Now, you've been in a briefing with our intelligence leaders over the last hour. When you hear everything that they have to share now, do you feel like America was facing an imminent threat from Iran before President Trump launched these attacks on Saturday?
John Solomon
Well, absolutely. I mean, they absolutely confirmed that there was a direct threat that, that the negotiations were not going well, that they were just waiting and holding off, wasting time, and that there was an immediate threat to US Military assets, to US Military lives in the region and potentially further away from that at home. So I think they took the right action. But I do want to comment on that brief that you just saw earlier that you just showed with the imams and the others in Dearborn that were talking about us being Satan and they live here if they don't like it. Nobody forced you here. Go home, get Out. We don't want you here. We don't need you here. If you hate this culture, you hate this country so much, leave. I think the Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, Tom Holman, have been very clear. We'll even buy you a plane ticket out of this country. But what we have seen is these cells that are popping up. You just saw it this last weekend in Austin. People who hate our country, who hate our culture, who will murder our citizens. And we don't know how many of them are here. We know that during the Biden administration, we had 700 Iranian nationals come over our border illegally. We don't know where they are. We don't know what their intentions are, which I think is really important right now, that we've got Homeland Security funded and these Democrats that are playing these games. I just left this briefing. They were very clear the threat is imminent. The threat there overseas is. It was very clear that we needed to stop it. But we also have a threat on our homeland. And, you know, not having the questions that are even being asked by Democrats were not even serious questions that, you know, you had the folks there to answer. You know, Republicans are like, what is the mission? You know, this is the. What was the threat? And they were very clearly lined it out. I think, you know, Marco Rubio is a freaking rock star. Listening to his answers so concise, so clear. I'm just glad he. The president, he had Pete Hegseth there, you had John Ratcliffe and Dan Kaine are doing such a great job. And I'm really proud of this administration for taking the threat seriously, doing what has to be done, and being willing to stick it out.
Dave
Congresswoman, obviously, when it comes to radical Islam on our shores, the priority is any threats to American lives. However, there is a cultural threat as well. And I played that clip out of Dearborn, Michigan. I did not mean to besmirch the good reputations of Texas. It was not Texas. It was Dearborn, Michigan. But you have these communities across our country that have turned into. You know, in Minnesota, you've got these Somali communities, but Islamic communities on our shores. In our country, there is a culture clash. How do we handle that?
John Solomon
Well, I mean, but, yes, it wasn't Dearborn, Michigan, but you have them all over, and you have them in Texas as well. I know firsthand, I've seen it. I've seen a father who was finally arrested 15, 20 years later after murdering his daughters in Irving. It was a ritual killing because they embarrassed him by being too Westernized. They have this in Our country. Right now you've got this epic city in Plano. It's the East Plano Islamic center, where they are talking about creating these massive home developments around a mosque and preventing people who are not Islamists from being able to live there. There are issues that we face in our state, in our. And I think we need to take them seriously. This is a fight that I've been fighting for the last 15 years. And we have been called all sorts of things, racist, haters, biggest. You name it. You gotta call it out when you see it. We had a threat in one of our Colleyville synagogues just a few years ago when I was a freshman, where we had a radical Islamist who came over, took over a synagogue and took four people hostage. It ended when he got shot, but that should never have happened. And I think calling out antisemitism when you see it, making sure that the people who come to our country want to be here, it is not that hard. We always say that we are a country built on immigration. Yeah, but it was immigration with respect. People who wanted to assimilate, people who shared our values, our culture, and wanted to grow here and prosper, we want to welcome those folks. But the people who want to do damage, the people who wanted to teach our youth how to hate our country, how to hate our past, our history, our forefathers, we don't need you here. We don't want you here. To be here is a privilege. You are taking advantage of a system that they end up using our Constitution against us. I think finding ways of the loopholes in the language of our laws, that's definitely not reflecting the intent is important. I and a number of other lawmakers are looking into that. Right now. We're working with the state of Texas to see how we can clamp down on some of those laws. And we're working the federal government to figure out how we clamp down on those laws and to close those loopholes.
Amanda Head
So important. Some of the rhetoric is coming from groups that are funded by virtue of the tax code. They get a tax exempt status, are called nonprofits. 501C3 is a Singham network has some of them. Your colleague Jason Smith flagged these over two years ago to the Biden, Justice Department, Biden, irs. Two years later. Still, those groups have their tax exempt status. I know you feel really strongly about this. A few weeks ago, those groups are up in Minnesota protesting ice. All of a sudden, they just switched placards and went to Iran. We concerned that the tax code is being Abused here?
John Solomon
Oh, well, absolutely. And again, they're using our Constitution against us, they're using our tax code against us, and we're trying to do everything that we can to tighten that up. I think one big beautiful bill definitely had some rails in it that would prevent this type of fraud from occurring. I had the Stop Funders act, which is looking at people who are funding some of these Rio, you know, these violent protests, in finding out where the money is coming from, who is organizing it. I would also like to see my Gorak act passed, which is calling for third party, independent party reflections on our budgets for our agencies. You're getting third parties to come in there and research and say, okay, where is money going? Is it going where it's supposed to be going? You know, once we pass it through appropriations, how are we holding the agencies accountable and how are we holding where those dollars are going to make sure that it's for the intent mean? And so many times we're not doing that. I think you're already seeing that through waste, fraud and abuse that we've been able to uncover in Minnesota, but it is so much further than that. Minnesota is just the tip of the iceberg. What you're going to find in California, what they're already starting to uncover in New York, Illinois, even in my great state of Texas, we have got to clamp down on the waste, fraud and abuse and put things in there that are systemic and not just dependent on which administration is in power.
Amanda Head
Yeah, important.
Dave
Congresswoman, I know you so generously left a briefing and you were privy to a lot of information there. I know a lot of our listeners, they see what's happening in the Middle east and they think, all right, it's over there, but we need to make sure that there's not a threat here at home. President Trump, you, your Republican colleagues on Capitol Hill are working hard to make sure there isn't a threat. But what's that level right now?
John Solomon
You know, I can't say. I'm not in the State Department, and that would be a good question to ask them. But I will tell you, we do have over 1500Americans right now that are, are still in that area, that are trying to get home. They were very clear. If you've got folks that are stranded, have them contact the State Department. Go to the State Department's website, sign up, let them know where you are, who you are, how to contact you. And they're trying to get planes, either charter planes or using other methods to get folks out of those countries that right now are under attack. I think we're seeing what's happening over there and it obviously is scary here, which is why, again, part of it that the problem is that we have allowed it to happen. But you also have to look at the silver lining on this. We have an ability right now to be able to stop it. We have an ability right now with a president who is very clear he wants peace in the Middle East. He recognizes a threat, that it's not only to our military assets that are there, home, abroad, but also at home. But we have, with our Texas Freedom Fuel, an ability to be able to help our allies that right now have been reliant on countries like Russia and on Iran. We have an ability to be able to prevent some of the manipulations that we have seen. But what we have to also understand is regulations matter. And what we saw under the Biden administration was their attempt to kill our energy industry and make our allies and ourselves more reliant on those countries. So this war is not at all, these attacks are not at all about oil directly. But the ability for us to be able to have a free, independent land is going to be important. Our ability to be able to defend ourselves is going to be important. And the ability to be able to be strong allies is going to be important. We saw a direct threat. This administration took care of it. We're not sure this is what question that we had asked today. Do we have a timeline? I think they're being very realistic. We're talking weeks, possibly months, not years. But until they know the threat and they can get their arms around it, it's only been, you know, a couple of days. They're being as transparent as they possibly can be. I think a lot of Republicans, Democrats may not admit it, but have to admit that that is at least, you know, it's a transparent administration. They're doing what they can and we're going to try to support them as much as we can.
Amanda Head
So important one real quick question in that briefing. Any we had this terrible episode in Austin over the weekend. Are they talking about the potential threats on US Soil? What we need to guard against them?
John Solomon
I think the answers that we got today were focused on the last few days and what was going on overseas. Obviously there's a potential for domestic it was not directly referred to today during the briefing.
Amanda Head
Just important to keep an eye on that. I know everyone is and we're morning with all the families that lost loved ones or had people injured in that Austin attack. Congresswoman Beth Van Daan always great to have on your show. Thank you for coming out and helping us understand the story so well. Dave, we appreciate it so much.
John Solomon
Great to see you. Great to see you both.
Amanda Head
Thank you so much. What a great conversation. All right folks, some people in the media and in the Democratic circles are saying President Trump started a war with Iran. Actually, our next guest thinks he's ending a war that Iran started. The Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. Up next, right after these messages.

Learn more and sign the pledge@workingwithcancerpledge.com. Welcome back everybody. As the war against the Iranian regime escalates following the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, why are Democrats and establishment Republicans calling for a vote to limit President Trump's war powers during a time of conflict? To paraphrase our next guest, Chairman Crawford, this selective application of moral outrage does not help our country win a war against a regime determined to destroy us. Joining us now is the Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on intelligence, Rick Crawford. Mr. Chairman, thanks so much for being with us.
Rick Crawford
You bet. Thanks for having me, sir.
Dave
I have to start with the elephant in the room of 47 presidents, by inauguration count, 45 of them ordered strikes without official congressional approval, including, by the way, former President Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama. Why on earth do these folks that I just mentioned have such bees in their bonnets over President Trump doing it?
Rick Crawford
I think the clinical term is Trump derangement. Syndrome. So I think that's what you have to attribute this to. It doesn't make any sense at all. We've had this conversation before about the selective application. And you think back to 2011, President Obama ordered a strike on Libya and the media asked then Minority Leader, does he require congressional notification or does he require congressional authorization to carry on that, carry out that strike? And of course, the answer was a quick no, of course not. Why? Because he's President Obama. And so here we are now with number 47, President Trump. And you know, if he came out with a cure for cancer, they would say, nope, can't have that. We're going to have to authorize that before we can start to actually cure people from cancer. I mean, it just, it's just outrageous that they apply these standards like this.
Amanda Head
We have a lot of things in the public source arena to judge the success of our operation thus far. For some reason, Iranians keep leadership, keep meeting in a single spot which allows us to pick them off. That happened again today like it did on Saturday with Khamenei. We're able to now escort ships through the Strait of Hormuz because we've gotten naval dominance very quickly. How would you assess our success in the first four days of this operation?
Rick Crawford
Well, I think if they were, they were budgeting, I don't know how much time they were budgeting to actually be able to affect all of those that you just mentioned. But the fact that they did it in 48 hours is pretty phenomenal. So I think that's a pretty wise allocation, a pretty, you know, precise allocation of resources. And so I think that's just a testament to the leadership from the White House to the Pentagon to the State Department and across the enterprise, they're just doing a fantastic job on something that really is about a 47 year case to be made for why this operation is necessary.
Amanda Head
Yeah.
Dave
Mr. Chairman, when President Trump took office the first time around, you had so many people saying he has no foreign policy, again, experience, no diplomacy experience, but he's been the one who has been able to achieve so many peace agreements, obviously the Abraham Accords. But even just you know, barely a year and one month into his second term, he's been able to do so much on the world stage. Why? Why is that coming from someone who was an outsider?
Rick Crawford
Well, I think you just said it. He was an outsider. He was not bound by a particular dogma that dictates the way we interact with foreign powers, in many cases foreign adversaries. But he also had a long history of interacting with, in foreign countries with regard to building businesses. And so he was no stranger to international diplomacy in the context of business. What he may have been branded an outsider because he wasn't one of those guys that sort of went along with the institutional approach to how we manage foreign affairs. And so I think he has succeeded beyond anybody's expectations. And I think, quite frankly, that just really upsets the left and honestly, some on the right that were sort of preying on his downfall. So they could say, see, this is the way you're supposed to do it. And he basically kind of does things his own way. And it's hard to argue with the results.
Amanda Head
Yeah, he's turned the apple cart upside down, but there's a lot of success that comes with that turning. It's remarkable. There are some on the other side of the aisle from you suggesting that there was no reason to attack. Now, there was no intelligence of imminent threat. You have access to far more than anyone else in this country would have. When you look at what you know, I know you can't talk about the specifics, but was there an actionable threat that warranted these attacks?
Rick Crawford
Absolutely. There was 47 years worth of predicate here. But even if there, if there weren't, we could go back to October 7, 2023. We could go back to, well, I mean, down through history. Look at 1979, when they stormed the US embassy, took hostages for 444 days. The Beirut bombing of the Marine barracks in 1983, the mining of the Strait of Hormuz and the attack on Samuel B. Roberts in 1988, the Khobar Towers in 1996. I'm missing some, and there was some sense, but you get the idea. There is a long history of aggressive behavior and attacks against America. Thousands of Americans, you can directly attribute their deaths to Iran. So this didn't happen on a whim. And President Trump is not starting a war, he's finishing one.
Dave
Mr. Chairman, a number of the Gulf states have come to President Trump's support and the support of the United States. Was that something that President Trump, that you're aware of, knew of going into this?
Rick Crawford
I'm not sure if he had any kind of insights from those other countries how they would respond, but I think it's very telling that they are responding in a manner that is probably surprising a whole lot of people. You mentioned his status as somewhat of an outsider, and that is, it's got onlookers, particularly in places like in Europe, where they tend to be a Lot more, you know, measured in tone and things like this, where they're, you know, they're basically scratching their heads saying, what the heck, that's not supposed to happen. It's not. I mean, first off, why did Iran launch strikes against Oman and Qatar, the two that were doing the most to try to mediate the situation as much as they could? Why was that? Why did they, why did they attack Saudi Arabia? That was another thing. Why go after Bahrain, the Emirates? Why would they do that? And it's got a lot of people kind of scratching their head. It sort of indicates sort of a flailing response by a regime that is essentially circling the drain. And the Europeans looking on in bemusement because they don't understand why the Gulf states allies are lined up along with us and even now engaged offensively against Iran. So it sort of defies explanation. But I would advise the Europeans to take note.
Amanda Head
Chairman, I'd like to ask a little bit about the Homeland Security Department being partially shut down. We have a long history of knowing Iran trying to get people on our cell, one to assassinate the president in 2024 during the election, another to try to kill a Saudi ambassador in 2011 at a D.C. restaurant, and then in between those, some other instances of trying to kill Iranian expats who they disagreed with. What. How big is the threat on our soil of a potential cell of Iranians who could go into operation? And how dangerous is keeping the Homeland Security Department in this posture right now?
Rick Crawford
Well, for one thing, this is not the time to be playing politics with Homeland Security funding. So that, look, whatever your politics are, that's fine. I get it. We don't have to agree on everything. But we should agree that this is not the time to be playing games with funding. And by the way, ICE was funded for three years as a result of the working families tax cut bill that funded ICE for three years. So you're not going to, you know, what you're asking for is to defund ice, and that's not part of the process here. What they've done is they've taken these other agencies hostage when we need them the most. And so this is very ill advised on their part. And you've seen the evidence already early on. Can you attribute that action in Austin directly to Iran being handled by or directed by, ordered by Iran? Maybe not. But what you can say is that when they show up with the sweatshirt on that says Property of Allah and they've got a flag of Iran in their truck, that's probably a sympathetic act. And we may see more of that. And by the way, we may see a threat that we might not be aware of. So counterintelligence is different than law enforcement and counterintelligence. You have to assume the worst. And so I think we have to assume that there are bad actors here, that we had four years of open borders under President Biden. And is it reasonable to think that some of those bad actors made it across the border and may have established a foothold here and are waiting for an opportunity, maybe even being directed by Iran or their proxies? Absolutely, it's reasonable. And if it's not reasonable, we ought to be thinking about that whether it's reasonable or not, because now we see the evidence of it. So we've really got to double down on our CI posture now and be a lot more diligent so that we can avoid these kinds of things from taking place.
Dave
Mr. Chairman, real quickly before we let you go, Venezuela has been effectively neutralized as support for Iran. Who's their lifeline now?
Rick Crawford
Well, I think we are, honestly. Look, what we've done in Venezuela is to lay the groundwork for the Venezuelans to engage in real self determination. Does that mean that they have to adopt the US Constitution and look like the United States? No, but what we've done is removed a dictator there who by the way, was under federal indictment here in the United States along with his wife, and laid the groundwork for the Venezuelans to now engage in real governance on their terms and make some choices that benefit them. And they can avail themselves of the mineral wealth that made them the most wealthy country in the hemisphere outside of the United States for a long time until socialism crept in and robbed them of not only their resources, but their dignity. And now the president, President Trump has given him an opportunity to regain that. That's a good thing. And we're going to continue to help with that.
Dave
Absolutely. Chairman of the House Intel Committee, Rick Crawford. Sir, thank you so much for being with us tonight.

Absolutely. All right, everybody. Coming up next, as U.S. mexico cooperation moves forward following the death of cartel boss El Mencho, we're going to take a look at what can be done to bring an end to the cartel violence and what what that means for our southern border. After this,

Welcome back, America. During the hearing today with the Homeland Security Secretary, Kristi Noem, the Democrats wanted to talk about anything other than what it would take to get those 7, 10, 12, 15 million illegal aliens that came in under Joe Biden's watch out of the country. They don't have a plan they don't want to talk about. They want to distract from it. Our next guest, he's always had a plan for it. He once oversaw the Customs and Border Protection Agency. He's one of the smartest minds in law enforcement, worked in the FBI, the LAPD and of course the Homeland Security Department. He's our good friend and the former acting commissioner of cbp, Mark Morgan. Mark, good to have you back on the show.
Mark Morgan
Amanda. John, thanks for having me. It's great to be with you both.
Amanda Head
We love having you on because we get such a great perspective. I want to start with something that I think is uncomfortable to talk about for people, but in this engagement with Iran, it is almost certain that Iranian sleeper cells and terrorists and bad guys got across that border. Pam Bondi in her testimony last June said at least a thousand that they know of today. She said, we're going through every one of their interviews trying to find them and get them out of the country. How real is the threat on our US Soil right now at this moment?
Mark Morgan
Well, it's dangerously incredibly real, John. And let's take the FBI as well as the Greater U.S. intelligence War. These aren't my words. They quote, they, they look at right now what's happening in the United States. The terrorism threat is the most complex and elevated that we've seen it since 9, 11. They refer to it as Quote, a rogues gallery of terrorist organizations looking to continue to carry out attacks against US interests, not just abroad, but right here at home. You know, and there's a couple of fronts to that. What we've seen recently and more recently we've seen in years since 911 is, is they're concerned about the possible more of a formal coordinated attack. Kind of like what we saw in the ball Russia in 2024. But what's really, really of the greatest concern right now for the FBI and the greater intelligence community is what we call the attacks through lone attackers are small cells. And I think it's important to remember it only took about a dozen or so terrorists to carry out the worst terrorist attacks that we've ever experienced in US History. And so this is a very, very real threat that, that is really consuming the intelligence community right now. And the other thing real quick, I'll say too is look, obviously we're focusing on Iran, John, but it's not just Iran, it's the whole host. I mean, during the Biden administration we encountered people from 163 different countries. Many of these countries we know harbor, sponsor and facilitate terrorism, whether it's Lebanon, Afghanistan and of course including Iran. And the last country I'll mention is China. During the four years of Biden administration, they let in over 200 Chinese nationals. The most of them were single adult males of military age. This is an exocistal threat that's in the country now, in my opinion.
Dave
Well, and just as concerning, we've got homegrown terrorism. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem was pressed on this today. The characterization surrounding Alex Preddy and Renee Good of domestic terrorism. But if you are targeting Americans, whether they are civilians or federal agents, isn't that domestic terrorism?
Mark Morgan
It can be, especially based on the ideology. Now I think we do need to be careful, Amanda. Sometimes we throw that term out too broadly and too quickly. And I think so there needs to that, that needs to be applied with judicial, you know, kind of coordinated aspects of that. But, but because terrorism carries a very important aspect when you use that word, it really resonates. And so I think we have to be careful when we're using that word. But make no mistake, a homegrown violent extremist attacks from within against our country, regardless of what the target is, as you described, based on its ideology. Sure, that's ever present in this country.
Amanda Head
One of the or one of the body of organizations that were the newest designated terrorists, the drug cartels, they also have a lot of capabilities as we Saw in the last few weeks with rocket launchers and things. Is there any possibility that the cartels which has had. Which have had relationships with Iran and certainly China, so they get their precursors that they might try to meddle at this moment of importance?
Mark Morgan
I don't, I don't think so. Because again, although you can compare them to terrorist organizations, John, what motivates them is different from the traditional terrorist organization. Right. Most of we think of, most like ISIS and etc. Hezbollah we think of they're driven by ideology where the cartels, make no mistake, they're driven by one thing and one thing only and that's money. So that their motivation is different. Although, Although again their tactics and, and the terror they bring is comparable to those of terrorist organizations. Make no mistake. So I don't have an issue with the designation. What I think you're going to see and where they gain their power and control is not attacking the US it's really continuing to attack the government of Mexico to make sure that they remain, the cartels remain really the supreme allied commander as I called, of the government of Mexico. Make no mistake, Mexico is a failed narco state. And the last thing I'll say on that is the recent issues going on with Mexico. The killing of a top cartel leader, make no mistake, that wouldn't have happened if it hadn't been one for the US support and as well as the pressure coming from the President of the United States saying you've got to do something because alone Mexico doesn't have the will or the capability.
Amanda Head
There's no doubt.
Dave
I want to ask you one quick question before we go. With respect to CJNG and that takeover a few weeks ago that we saw in Puerto Vallarta, do you anticipate that any of that retaliation surrounding that or the taking out of any other cartel leaders could spill over onto our shores?
Mark Morgan
Well, yes and no. I mean indirectly I believe. Absolutely. So we've seen this in the past, man. It's a great question. Whenever you take off a leader there, there's a fractionalization that happens. So there's a war within Mexico that happens for control. You know what other splinter groups are going to take over cnjg? Remember, they're a splinter group of the Solano cartel. So anytime you destabilize that and you, you let your foot off the gas, meaning you don't continue to just defeat the cartels across the board. Yeah. You're going to have a level of violence in Mexico, a level of destabilization and the products and the issues that come that they push across our border will be impacted by that, no doubt. So indirectly there will be. Make no mistake though, the drugs are continuing to pour into our country from the cartels. And make no mistake as well, their profit from human smuggling. They haven't walked away from that. Our border may be the most secure it's been. The numbers may be down, but the cartels, they haven't given up on the human smuggling enterprise as well.
Amanda Head

for healing, learn more and sign the pledge@workingwithcancerpledge.com. Welcome back everybody to just the news. No noise. Let's return to our discussion on Iran and explore what the US Might anticipate from Iran's proxies in the wake of the coordinated strike against the Iranian regime. Now reports show that Iranian drone attacks on the U.S. embassy and other targets are being viewed as retaliation for the death of Iran's supreme leader. But they also appear to be part of a broader military escalation in the region. So what happens next? Joining us now to discuss this, an expert on military intelligence, retired Navy intelligence officer, and former White house senior advisor, Dr. Paul Sheboy. So, Dr. Chabot, thanks so much for being with us.
Dr. Paul Chabot
My pleasure, Amanda. Thanks for having me.
Dave
Before we get into the granular of what we can expect, I want to ask you about a timeline because the Trump administration, President Trump said about four to five weeks out that's what they anticipate the timeline to be. But he also said that we're ahead of time. So what do you anticipate is going to be coming in the, in the next few weeks? And do you think that we will wrap this up by beginning of April?
Dr. Paul Chabot
No, I don't think there ever is a wrapping up in the Middle East. Historically, we have been, will be, and I love our military. We've got to have a strong military presence around the globe. That's what's critical for keeping peace here at home. So we don't bring the battlefield here where we are. But the Middle east has been a mess. I was there in Iraq in 08 09. During the surge, many of our troops, our American servicemen that were killed, were killed because of Iran building IEDs and bringing them into Iraq to kill our service members. So we got a few scores here even with their military. Love seeing Trump and especially, you know, Israel here, the United States working together collectively with intelligence, with Mossad, which is almost like the equivalent to our CIA sharing information and hitting targets. Now, this is amazing. What we've done in 48 hours, 72 hours is we've done amazing. However, it's going to get a little bit more messy and that's what we can get into in this discussion because quite honestly, that is, is a phase where we are gonna see, unfortunately, some of our adversaries and the UN which we are not a big fan of, begin to turn against this tide. Now real quick, 71% right now of Republicans across this country support what Trump is doing in Iran. That is great. That's great for the midterms, but it's also great for our country because we're back in our president at a time when this is critical for taking out Iran's nuclear capability and keeping the world safe.
Amanda Head
This war is reminding us how quickly warfare has changed over the last decade. Suicide drones, even the US has them and used them for the first time. Pete Hegseth was a big fan of getting those into our arsenal. At some point, though, these iron domes and these anti ballistic missile and anti drone technologies have A limit in that we'd have to keep manufacturing them. Is there a danger that Iran can outshoot our ability to shoot them down? Because at some point the supply is going to run out with the large region we're trying to protect.
Dr. Paul Chabot
Yeah. So what we're transitioning to right now, we have air supremacy across Iran, which is great. We achieved that in two days. Remarkable. It's not so much the missiles that we're worried about. It is exactly what you said, the drones. These drones cost on average 10 to 20,000 to make. We don't know how many necessarily they have. They have different types. They've got a new jet type. They could potentially have 100,000 of them. But they have so many. They've been exporting these to Russia. Russia's been using them to attack Ukraine. So they are proven they're effective. You can hide them, they're cheap. And remember, they're one way drones. They don't need to bring this stuff back, just put munitions on them. Suicide missions. And what they can attack is critical. Let's talk briefly about the Strait of Hormuz. Roughly 20% of the world's oil goes through there. Thankfully, through Trump, our, our nation is largely oil independent. China is not. We can talk about that later if we have time. So we got to worry about the Strait of Hormuz. We got to worry about lone wolf attacks. We got to worry about the Houthis in Yemen, Hezbollah and the Shias in Iraq, which are very sympathetic to this Iran regime, which right now is getting decimated, decimated by the US And Israel.
Dave
Paul, I want to ask you about the storage of these drones. I feel certain that US Intelligence knows where they are. And, and I mean, I look at the way that the IDF was able to take out Iranian officials using their pagers. First of all, who has pagers in this day and age? But if they were able to do that through their pagers, and we, I feel sure know where these drones are, where these munitions are being stored, why aren't we taking that out?
Dr. Paul Chabot
I would say because there's so many and they're so inexpensive and it doesn't take an industry to be able to put these things together. You can almost put them together on the battlefield. When you look at some of the unclassified intelligence, look, we learned a lot right now from Russia and Ukraine. We can play that right into Iran. A lot of these drones are put together on the battlefield, deployed from the battlefield. And some of these can fly over 1,000 miles, which, you know, they can hit Any one of our bases in the region. Our 5th Fleet headquarters is 124 miles from the shore of Iran. We've already seen what they've done targeting neighboring countries. So going forward, we certainly got to worry about that risk of drone attacks on our service members. By the way, we've lost now up to six. So prayers to them and their families and just, you know, it's heartbreaking. But we've got the best military in the world. And from the loss of these Americans, what we have to remember is our adversaries are watching this. We used to think of the four. We used to think of China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran. Well, Iran's getting removed from that, and our adversaries right now are watching. I mentioned China. China doesn't really have their own oil. They take in so much from the Middle east right now. They are shutting down their refineries because they don't have enough oil coming in. So China's got a lot to lose here at the Strait of Hormuz gets shut down. Trump administration said they may begin to protect, if they haven't already, the Strait of Hormuz. Not just oil, but commerce around the globe. The US Is taking a strong leadership role. Two carrier strike groups in the region. I heard today France is finally sending some naval assets. Hey, welcome, welcome, France. Better late than never. You know, we'll take you. But America is leading, and we're leading side by side with our ally Israel.
Amanda Head
Yeah. So very important, before we let you go, the President and Marco Rubio have said in ptex, they've all said something provocative, which is as effective and as damaging as these attacks are, they ain't the big ones. You ain't seen nothing yet. Iran, what's likely to be in that next round now that we have air superiority, do we start to see bunker busters and things like that that really inflict both psychological and physical damage?
Dr. Paul Chabot
So I would think of our primary goal here, even though we don't have boots on the ground per se, we do. I mean, we know we have assets on the ground. Mossad's been there, CIA has been there, and we are already looking at the sites that we've hit. How effective were those previously? It is really securing those locations and making sure they don't get into the wrong hands. But when you mentioned Marco Rubio, what's fascinating is when you saw Trump over the weekend at Mar A logo, there was a still picture of him and to Trump's left, and that still picture was Marco Rubio. We often think of the Department of War. Hegseth Marco Rubio is playing a huge role in this, as well as he should, because the State Department is going to have a huge role in Iran. They've already thought behind the scenes about who they can work with, with who they can ally with, who they want to see. So controlling the airspace right now is important not just to the Department of War and keeping our, our, our people safe, but it's also important the State Department because they want to watch the right people rise up and fight in Iran to take back that country. So we're going to provide, I'm sure, protection to them.
Amanda Head
Yeah, good point.

Welcome back, everybody. John, a moment of levity before we get into the names of those four service members that we're going to talk about In a minute. Dr. Paul Chabot mentioned France and their involvement or lack thereof when it comes to these conflicts. And it reminded me of a Norman Schwarzikopf Schwarzkopf quote. Oh shoot, what was it? Going to war without France is like going hunting without. Not a bagpipe, something else, some other instrument anyway. But it just brought to mind the fact that the United States now under President Trump, there is so much more strength on the battlefield, whether that is a kinetic battlefield or otherwise. And quite frankly, we don't need countries like France anyway.
Amanda Head
Franc too when you got Israel, I mean right now the Israelis have shown the expertise they have intelligence, hit two or three consecutive meetings and knock out the leadership over and over again is unheard of in the history of warfare. It's really soon.
Dave
All right, roll call.
Amanda Head
Yeah, listen, we hear these four soldiers killed, six soldiers killed. And they sometimes just are statistic but they're people. They're family members. Their brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, grandchildren. And today we just got the names of four. The first four victims who were killed in that first attack on Kuwait all came from the 103rd Sustainment Command in Des Moines, Iowa. I just want to read their names. They matter to us. We will not forget their sacrifice or their names. Captain Cody A. Cork, Sergeant First Class Noah Teachens, Sergeant First Class Nicole Amour and Sergeant Declan Cody, four first victims of this operation. We honor your service. We are not going to forget your name. We will not forget your family. Thank you for what you did to make our country safer.
