That's good, Paul. All right. Very good. So Paul's going to have some news. We got a lot to get to tonight. We're going to make a very special phone call here coming up in a little bit. But right now, let's get to the first word. Well, here we are. Welcome to the political circus, where the Democrats have painted themselves into quite the corner. A corner so tight they might need to learn yoga to get themselves out of it. The Democrats have dedicated their miserable lives to. To jacking up their anti Trump rhetoric to levels that would make Chicken Little blush, screaming from every rooftop that Donald J. Trump is the ultimate threat to democracy. He's a tyrant, a dictator. You know, he's worse than Hitler himself. We've heard it all. They've repeated this blubbering nonsense so often now, their lunatic fringe base is now frothing at the mouth, fully convinced that compromising with Trump is like handing the keys to the kingdom straight over to the devil himself. But mark my words, my friends, when the rubber meets the road, the Democrats who've sworn up and down that Trump must be stopped at all costs are now in a position of having to cave. At some point, they're going to vote to reopen the government, turn the lights back on, and let the Trump train steamroll right ahead. And, oh, boy, is their progressive base going to erupt like Mount St. Helens when that happens. Let me tell you why this is such a delicious trap of their own making. The only real way for the Democrats to stop Trump as they keep yapping their big mouths about, would be to actually dig in like ticks on a hound and refuse to fund the government all the way through the midterms. Shut it down and keep it shut. That's not going to happen. Why? Because history shows us shutdowns are political poison, especially for those in swing districts. Shutdowns always end with deals, not Armageddon. Democrats know this. They've been on both sides. But here's where it gets interesting for conservatives. The Democrats have backed themselves in tighter than a sardine can. With their hysterical spin, their base now expects them to fight to the death. But swing district Democrats, well, they're probably sweating bullets. Take someone like Senator John Ossoff in Georgia. He has a significant military voting bloc around places like Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Fort Stewart, folks who actually prioritize national security. Polls show that Americans overall, even those who dislike President Trump, let's say personally, trust him and the Republicans more on issues like crime and immigration. They may not like his tactics, but they appreciate the results. Many of them are fed up with open borders and progressive social agendas like the trans nonsense, and they're supporting of the deporting of illegal immigrants. So what does a Democrat like Ossoff do? If you side with the socialist squad AOC and her band of radicals, you're most likely done for. You're going to face a primary challenge from a far left progressive who in turn can't win in the general, handing the seat, most likely, well, to a Republican. All politics is local and no amount of bloviating from the ivory tower editors at the New York Times is going to change that. Those swing state lawmakers aren't listening to the blue check Twitter mob. They're tuned into voters back home who want results, not endless drama. Now, as we've said for years on this show, forget the media. Gaslighting a shutdown isn't the end of civilization. Social Security checks, they keep coming. Seniors are not going to starve or die. The mail still gets delivered by the USPS carriers. Planes still taking off and landing as usual. TSA will be ready to give you that thorough pat down or prostate exam if you're really unlucky. National monuments open for tourists and for selfies. Essential services continue while not essentials like the bureaucratic paper pushers, well, they take a break during the 2018, 2019 shutdown. Furloughed workers couldn't use their government laptops. And guess what? The world kept spinning. I'm thrilled at the prospect of a prolonged shutdown. Let it drag on. Trim the fat, expose the waste. But the Democrats, well, they've painted Republicans as jackboot tyrants, Hitler reincarnated. So why fund a government pushing deportations, deregulation and America first policies? That's the question. Well, unless of course, the Republicans then dangle a carrot like funding for NPR's liberal echo chamber or health care for illegal immigrants. Then poof, the Democrats will suddenly ready to wheel and deal. Talk about hypocrisy on steroids. Well, there it is. Bottom line, the Democrats will vote to fund the government. History proves it. They have to or they'll get clobbered at the polls just like the GOP did in 95 when public opinion turned against them. But when these Democrats do cave, they're gonna have to stare down their raging progressive base and explain why they're forking over cash to quote unquote, Hitler for more deportations and less red tape. They've brought this on themselves with their insane over the top rhetoric that's more fiction than fact. And the American people, well, they're very wise to it. Voters see the Democrats as pro crime and pro legal immigration because, well, let's face it, their policies and their pronouncements continue to scream it. After four years of Biden Harris chaos, skyrocketing crime borders like sieves. Folks want someone to fix it, even if that someone's a bulldozer like Trump who could be looked at as a tad harsh. They remember how past shutdowns ended with compromises that kept the country moving forward, not with one side winning by burning it all down. This is the Democrat dilemma in all its glory, my friends. They've set the bar so absurdly high with their spin that now they can't clear it without looking like total frauds, which we already know they are. Party leaders have called shutdowns toxic and destructive time and time again. Heck, even Chuck Schumer said it. But here they are teetering on the edge because their base demands purity tests. Meanwhile, conservatives. Well, we're grabbing the popcorn and that's tonight. Opening word, first word. Our live from Studio 6B on a Wednesday, October 1st. And so the Democrats all day have been saying, well, the illegal. It's not illegals. There's no illegals. There's no nothing for illegals here. It's all made up. There's no health care for illegals. And there was many clips about this. JD Vance went on Fox and Friends this morning. I looked at that clip, but I thought the best clip of him explaining why that is not a nonsense argument was this afternoon he went on with Ben Shapiro. Cut one, Aaron. Roll that.
