for healing, learn more and sign the pledge@workingwithcancerpledge.com today. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Can't wait to take away all the things confronting me. Fail. God's word is your answer. We are in our holiest season as believers, as Christians. Palm Sunday, and then we go to Good Friday and Easter. Resurrection Sunday. A supernatural miracle working season. And God is moving. Let's talk about the Gospel. Let's talk about why did God send His son, Jesus Christ, and what did he come for? From Genesis to Revelation, as you study the Scriptures, the main theme centers on the cross, the crucifixion, the burial, and ultimately the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It has always been about God wanting an intimate relationship with you. First Corinthians 1:18 says, for the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God. You see, that's why we're not ashamed of the Gospel, because the gospel of the cross, the crucifixion, is power we see at the heart of God and the dilemma of man in John 3:16, 21. For God so loved the world that that he gave his one and only Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed. In the name of God's one and only Son, this is the verdict. Light has come into the world. But men love darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. And everyone who does evil hates the light and will not come to the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God. You see, that really is the message of God, the message of the cross. Jesus was born to die so that you and I could live. What a great, great God that we serve. In Matthew, chapter 1, verse 21, it says, she will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. There is no other name that is higher than that, because he will save his people from their sins. Jesus declared in John, chapter 10, verse 9 through 11, I am the gate Whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. But I have come that they may have life and have it to the full. I am the good shepherd, and the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. What a wonderful God we have. I just love reading His Word. It's so rich. It's so satisfying. Jesus gave his life and he paid the price. He was crucified, buried, and rose again on the third day to redeem mankind and offer all who desired salvation. And that word, salvation, comes from this Greek of sozo, to be delivered, to be healed, to be made whole, to be restored, to be saved. He came to give you salvation both eternally and earthly. First Peter 1:19. I like the living Bible, but he paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. Verse 20. God chose him for this purpose long before the world began. But only recently was he brought into the public view these last hours as a blessing. And I want to ask you, what kind of blessing is he to you? Romans, chapter 5, verse 12 declares, Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. Now let's stop right there. He's talking about Adam and Eve. So when man fell, and we'll talk about this extensively, that sin, the first Adam, transferred onto all men. Now let's talk about what is sin. The Greek word is hermatheo, to miss the mark, to not share in the prize. Mark comes from a Greek word, character. We've all missed the mark, the character of Christ. And therefore, because we fall short and have missed the character of Christ, who is sinless, who is perfect, he had no sin in him. Because of that, therefore we've all missed the prize. And that is the ascended place. That is the mount of transformation. So we are limited. We have these limitations because we are born into sin. Romans chapter 3, verse 10 says, as it is written, there is none righteous. No, not even one. But God did not determine to leave us in this state, to leave us in this condition. He wanted to put us back on track. And the only way to get back on track, as I've read to you in the Scripture, is Jesus is the way. He is the truth, and he is the life. Romans 6:23. For the wages. Think about that. The wages of sin is death. So from the moment that you were born, you start to die. But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. That's God's gift to you. That's God's gift to me. From the very beginning, there was purpose. God had a plan for man. And I'm going to talk to you about that plan. But I want you to think about this gift before you were ever a concept in your mom and dad's heart or in their mind or their heat of passion. However you entered, you were purposed by God. And he had a plan for you. You know, my first 18 years, I didn't live knowing that God was my God, that His Son was savior, that there was redemption for me. I thought that I was a product of my past. My father committing suicide, sexual and physical abuse. There was no way, really, out of my trauma, my torment, the things that I'd gone through. Until I'd heard about Jesus Christ and the price that he had paid. And when I got saved, everything changed. God wants to transform you. Not just so you can change, so he can deliver you out of that generational curse, out of that beginning that was tough and traumatic. You don't have to live that way. See, let me explain the plan of God and how he brought redemption to you and to me. And all we have to do is receive it. And that's not just all we have to do. We actually walk it out. But what a gift God gave. In the book of Genesis, we see the beginnings, the place where the romantic liaison between divinity and humanity starts by telling how God created everything, including human beings. God looked on everything he had created in Genesis chapter one. And you see in verse 31, he judged it and he said, this is very good. His work was perfect and it was pure. Every detail of creation, every system of nature was perfectly orchestrated by the handiwork of an almighty God. He put it in place so that creation was a safe world into which he could put the object of his affection. And the crowning culmination of his creation, Adam and Eve. Mankind created in the very image of God himself, made to be capable of having intimate fellowship with him and to bring glory to his name. According to Genesis 1:27. And evil says, no, they might make it, they might carry out purpose. Evil slithers into the garden. And it's what the serpent is symbolic of that is so important to us. He's symbolic of evil. And when you touch or open yourself up to its devices, Satan's devices, it opens up hell to you. The Bible is so clear. First off, Ephesians 6:12, we're not wrestling against flesh and blood. But against principalities, powers, wickedness and darkness. And the enemy comes, as I said, to kill, steal and destroy. And if he can get an inch, he'll take a thousand yards. He wants to utterly abolish the purpose of God in your life. Satan the saboteur attacked what God loved, humanity and infected it with what God hates, sin, creating the perfect dilemma. If God responded to what he loved, he would save what he hated. If he saved what he loved, he would love what he hated. So the love story of redemption and sacrifice would begin here and be repeated throughout the word of God, culminating in the coming of Jesus Christ, our Messiah and his ultimate sacrifice on our behalf. It was prophesied in Genesis that the enemy would bruise his head, but he would crush his heel. In other words, Jesus is going to go through it, but Satan is going to be disempowered. He's going to be stripped of everything. He doesn't even have the keys to his own house. And so, because of the coming of Jesus Christ as the ultimate sinless sacrifice on our behalf, he would redeem us from sin. Remember what sin is, to miss the mark and to fall short of the character of God. And he would redeem us from death, because sin brings forth death. And he would restore us to righteousness. Right relationship with God. Righteousness doesn't mean, oh, I'm so holy, I do everything right. Righteousness means well. The Bible says in Isaiah that my righteousness is as filthy rags. And it's a really interesting interpretation, but that Christ's righteousness, which is holy and glorious. So I am righteous with God in right standing because of Jesus Christ and my acceptance of him as Lord and Savior. And this is where the love story of the relentless lover, God himself starts and continues today. You see, if we got what we deserved, we would be dead, we'd be in hell. The wages of sin is death. We didn't earn it, we don't deserve it. But God gave it to us because of his love. And it's the love of God that compels us, that moves us, because he first loved us. He's been chasing you your whole life. Even if you don't see that, recognize that if we don't understand that we are created with this intense hunger and this thirst for a relationship with God, we won't understand where the inner void and the loneliness comes from. We'll try to fill it with people and things and it will always be unsuccessful. If we don't understand that we're created for a relationship with God, we'll find ourselves far more interested in religion than God. Jesus died for a relationship, not religion. Now religion has a place because it's a systematic thing. But religion only becomes significant when it enhances relationship, which it doesn't always do. Sometimes it brings bondage, restrictions. And God wants intimacy with you. He always has, he always will. Revelation 13:8 declares, the Lamb was slain from the very foundation of the world. God's ultimate intention is his final decision. His priority is his purpose, and that is to have intimate relationship with you. Think about the God who created everything. The God who knows you intimately, counts the very numbers, the hairs. Not just counts of numbers. The hairs on your head knows you not just by your name, has given you a unique fingerprint, an eye print that no one else has in this world and never will have. And that God wants intimacy with you, with me. And that opportunity of intimacy and that kind of relationship would occur and culminate when Jesus cried out on the cross, it is finished now. It wasn't this cry of defeat, like it's finished, finally, all the suffering. It was a cry of victory. Because the etymology or the original means it is completely, completely complete and it is all finalized. John, chapter 19, verse 30. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, it is finished. And he bowed his head and gave up the ghost. Like I said, this is not a cry of defeat, but a victory. Because the war was won at that moment. At that moment is when Christ would descend to hell and he would conquer death, hell and the grave. And through that conquering, he would give the power and the authority over to his blood bought church. That's you, that's me. If you've received him as king, Savior, Lord, and because of this, you and I have victory over death, hell and the grave. What an divine transference that God gave us. He became sin that we might become righteous. He died so that we could live. He was wounded so that we could be healed. What a divine exchange. You see, this was the purpose of God from the very beginning. And purpose, the etymology is from a French word. It means the aim, the intention to put forth, to put in place all or by design. A design is to create and execute, fashion or construct according to the plan. And I love this. This was not random. This was not God sitting up bored one day saying, hey, what should we do today? Now I'm going to change my mind. The promises of God are yes and amen. He has no variance in Him. He doesn't change his mind. And I love how Romans, chapter 9, verse 10 and 11, the message makes the this so clear to us that God had a design or purpose to our life. Romans 9, verse 10 and 11, the message says. And that's not the only time to Rebekah also, a promise was made that took priority over genetics. When she became pregnant by our one of a kind ancestor, Isaac, and her babies were still innocent in the womb, incapable of good or bad, she received a special assurance from God. What God did in this case made it perfectly plain that his purpose is not a hit or miss thing dependent on what we do or don't do, but a sure thing determined by his decision, flowing steadily from his initiative. Watch what that scripture is revealing to us, that everything that God does is according to design, according to purpose. Rebecca just happened to be down getting water, but being at the well. And the servants of Isaac who were commissioned go find him a wife. That's Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, which would bring forth, of course, Jesus, which would bring forth salvation to the Gentiles, which is why you and I have abundant life. You see, this was not random. This was not an accident. Every thing by God is by Design. Moses took nine months to complete his tabernacle. Exodus chapter 19, verse 1, Numbers, chapter 19, verse 1 and 2. The Holy Spirit took nine months to form the body of Jesus, the true tabernacle in the womb of mary. Luke chapter 1, verse 26:38. A strategic design for God to dwell with man. It's all the working out of his eternal purpose, which he purposed in Christ Jesus Our Lord. Ephesians 3:11. And ultimately that eternal purpose is God didn't set us up for angry rejection, but for salvation by our Master, Jesus Christ. He died for us. A death that triggered life first. Thessalonians 5, 9, 10. God's not mad at you. He's not after you. He's after you to bring you into this abundant life, to bring you his salvation. Because salvation is not just getting your sins forgiven. It includes that, but it is so much more. Salvation is the total provision of God for his people through the sacrifice of Jesus. He paid the price for you to live the life. The Greek word, as I said, is sozo. It's used in the gospels for healing the sick, delivering people from evil spirits, raising the dead, and total preservation of God's people. Salvation covers everything provided for us spiritually, physically, emotionally, materially, all by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, both for time and for eternity. Romans 8:32 declares this, that his provision for us includes all things. He who did not spare his own son, but gave him up for us all. How will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? What this means is whatever problem that you're facing, whatever mountain is ahead of you, whatever challenge your children are going through, your husband, your wife, your finances, God has already supplied the solution. When Jesus said, it is finished, it was completely complete. So he has everything that you need before you ever step into it. When you get that revelation, worry and stress and anxiety, it all goes away. Why did he do this? Well, Romans 5:8. God commandeth his love towards us, and that while you were yet sinners, Christ died for us, that we would find salvation through his death. That's why. Hebrews chapter 12, verse 2. Says, who? For the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame. He hated the shame. But he endured the cross because you were on his mind. I was on his mind. And even though he hated the shame and the pain, he endured it. Which means he stood firm under the pressure to bear the trials, to have fortitude, to persevere, to go through the severity, the unpleasant hardship and the treatment for. For the joy that was set before him. You, Susie. You, Joni. You, Paula. He endured the cross for you, with you on his mind. And we know that that journey started long before Calvary. It started in the garden of Gethsemane, in that garden known as the oil press. Jesus would be pressed. That's where he would be betrayed. We'd see in Matthew 26:38. Then saith, My soul is exceeding sorrowful. Can you stay here and watch? And even those that were closest with him could not stay with them. This is where he had hemidrosis, where he was under such agony and such pressure, that the small capillaries begin to burst in him. And he prays, let this cup pass from me nevertheless, not as I will, but your will be done. He had the weight of the world on him. Judas, his friend, betrays him with a kiss. He said, I could have handled it, had it been someone else. But I was betrayed by my very own. There he is in the garden. Evil, vile men begin to beat him. They. They pluck his beard. They spit on him. Then they take him to Caiaphas. And he stands before Pilate all night long. His heart is broken. He's standing there after he's been healed, humiliated, after he's been beaten. Then this. This guard gives this big blow. And the Bible says that they all spat upon him. They then would take him and they would scourge him and crucify him. They would take this flagrant with this metal and this bone and they would beat his back until he was a bloody pulp. He was wounded for your transgression, bruised for your iniquity. The chastisement of our peace is upon him. And with his stripes you are healed. Peter said you were healed. Here's what I want you to know. Death has no power over you. The grave has no power over you. Hell has no power over you. Fear has no power over you. Sickness has no power of you. Not because you're Superman and Superwoman, but because of Jesus Christ. He paid the price when he died on the cross, when he was buried in the tomb and he rose again on the third day. That is the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If you don't know him as your Lord and Savior and right now you've been living isolated, lonely, fearful, anxious. Don't live like that. Don't live out of position with God. Your life is waiting for you to make the transformation. Transformation. And the message. Today, the message of the gospel, the message of the cross explains to you how to do that. He says it so clearly in Romans chapter 10, verse 9 and 10 that if you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and confess with your mouth, then you will be saved. Pray this prayer with me right now. Father God, I come to you in the name of Jesus. Jesus. I've tried to do it on my own and it hasn't worked out too well. Forgive me for my sin, Forgive me for missing the mark. I receive Jesus as my Lord and my Savior in Jesus name. If you prayed that prayer, welcome to the family of God.
