Today. Yeah yeah yeah yeah. Can't wait to take. God's word is your answer. And just before we get into the word of putting God first this year and really Seeing his abundance, his success, his victories in your life. I want to read you this praise report from Patricia from India. She says Pastor Paula, each and every email that I get to read from Paula White Ministries has led me into a magnificent blessing. I would particularly like to testify about the 21 day Daniel Fast that Pastor Paula directed me to follow in the beginning of this year in January. And I hope you'll join us as we really do. Pray, fast and give as we set our calendar on God's calendar, the beginning of the year and put things in order for Him. So let's see what happens to Patricia and her family. She specified that adhering to this will put me and my family in alignment with God's calling and his will for our lives. We have experienced a great change in our spiritual walk and a supernatural breakthrough through in our spiritual gifts. I praise and thank God for His mercy and everlasting love. I'm so excited for you Patricia, and for everyone else. Now let's think about this as we deal with the principle of first fruits. Whatever is first governs what happens to the rest. And at the beginning of the year we want to make sure that God is first. So will you change your ways for his ways? Will you this year make a commitment to put God first? Matthew chapter 6, verse 25:34 says, Therefore I say unto you, take no thought means, don't be anxiously careful. So do you have anxiety anywhere for your life? What you're going to eat, what you'll drink, what you're going to put on your body, is life not more than meat, and the body more than remnant. And he goes on and says, behold the fowls of the air. They don't sow, they don't reap, they don't gather in barns, yet your Heavenly Father feedeth them. Are you not much better than they? Which of you, by taking thought, can add even one cubit, like a tiny little bit of an inch to your stature, your height? And why take thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field. They grow, they don't toil, neither do they spin. And yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore if God so clothe the grass of the field, which is today, and tomorrow it's gone, how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith. Therefore take no thought, saying, what will we eat, what will we drink? Or wherewithal will we be clothed? For after all these things do the Gentiles seek for Your Heavenly Father knoweth you have need of all these things. Here's the key. Verse 33. So he's saying, don't think about what you're going to wear. Don't think about that mortgage payment. Don't think about how you're going to eat. These are your everyday needs. Here's the answer. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. And all these things will be added to you. Therefore, don't take thought for tomorrow. Tomorrow will take thought for the things of itself. I love this one. This says, seek ye first in the message version. I'm going to give it to you in a simplified. What I'm trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God's giving. People who don't know God and the way he works fuss over these things. But you know both God and how he works. So steep your life in God reality, God initiative, God provisions. And don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. I love it because God gives us a very clear path to seek. First the kingdom of God and His righteousness. And then the everyday needs of our life will be met. There are three things needed to make any change. Now, if you're going to have a year of success, a year of victory, a year that is unlike any other, then it requires change. And that change, whether it's spiritual or mental, emotional or physical, three things are requirements. And I want you to write these down. Number one, desire. Number two, intent. And number three, persistence. 90% of heart patients don't stick to lifestyle changes once they've had a heart attack or diagnosed with a heart disease. Think about that. They know they're going to die. They know they're at risk. But 90% do not change their lifestyle. 45% of people make New Year resolutions and only 8% succeeded. What's the difference? Why are some people successful? Are they just built that way? Is it luck? No, it starts with number one, a desire. Desire is not just like, oh, I'd like to have that. I just. I'd like to really be used by God. I'd like to really see my family saved. I'd like to be wealthier. I'd like to be healthier. No, desire is a strong feeling of wanting to have something. If you don't desire it bad enough, you won't have the drive for it. Remember that God says to us that when you pray, believe and desire. So when you're Praying. You've got to desire what you're asking God for, what you want. If you want something bad enough, you will find a way to bring it into being. What you persistently focus on, you see, if you look at it longest, it will become strongest in your life because you have a desire for it. So I want you to get a vision this year. What is it that you see God doing in your life? You put him first. I want you to see it. Is it your family saved? Is it that you are healthier, wealthier? Where's the success? Where are the victories that God's going to give you this year? Now, the second thing is one of the greatest allies to transformation, to changing, is intention. Intentional simply means on purpose. Our intentions help us to choose the best ways to live, the best way to think, the best way to speak, and the best way to act in the now and the now to come in order to hit the target. So I want you to do something for me before you jump out of bed in the morning. I want you to lay there five, ten minutes, and I want you to be intentional about your day. I want you to see your day before you get up on your computer, before you get busy doing all your stuff. I want you to lay there and envision God with you throughout your day. I want you to think, okay, these are the things I'm going to accomplish in the next 24 hours. This is God with me in that business meeting. This is God favoring me to get this phone call today. I want you to see it. Then I want you to begin to speak it, and I want you to act like it. Dress for it to happen that day. Get whatever necessary tools, if it requires a Bible, get it a briefcase, have it, whatever it is. I want you to be very intentional before it ever begins to manifest. See, when you're intentional, it helps determine our goals, how we arrange the circumstances of our life as much as we're able. The attitude, which is one of the most important things we have in doing so. And significantly, there is no such thing as an unintentional life. You may not even be aware of your intention, even though they are there and they're determining the direction of your life. You see, intentional is on purpose. Doing nothing is still an intention. When you're unaware of your intentions, you find that passivity and restlessness take root and begin to sprout up. You get frustrated because you're covering a clear life path until we are thoroughly lost. When we're unintentional, most often a need is created in us to respond to what is most urgent than that which is most valuable. Think about what I'm saying to you. I tell people your emergency is not my urgency. That goes back to Galatians 6. You're responsible first and foremost for your own backpack, your own boundaries. You're not responsible for someone else's attitude, their responsibility, their actions. We help a brother and sister, a child, a daughter, a spouse when it's a life crushing issue. But you can't make someone intentional. You can be intentional. You see, this is really important that you begin to live a purposeful life. Our conscious intentions determine our direction. They're a way of aiming for what matters the most in life. And if you ask aimlessly, if your prayers are aimless, then the Bible clearly says you won't get anything if you're double minded. An intention is brought to completion only by a decision to fulfill or carry through with the intention. Which means this, that you can be intentional about it, but you've got to take quick action. A lot of I know a lot of talkers and very few doers. I know a lot of readers, they're very smart, but they don't know how to respond quickly. So when you have an intention, you have to make a decision and immediately respond. Take action. It means paying attention in a particular way, on purpose, in the present moment, non judgmental, without any fear. Intention is not wanting, wishing or hoping. It is the determination to do so when you're intentional about something. I want to double my sales. I'm going to be a soul winner. Okay, how do you know how to lead someone to the Lord? Do you know how many souls you want to lead to the Lord? Do you know when you're going to do that? Where you're going to do that? With intention, we indicate to ourselves that we are going to do something no matter what. Now think about that. No matter how I feel today, no matter what kind of resistance is coming against me, see, you've got to deal with those ants first thing in the morning. Automated Negative thoughts. Cast down those strongholds, cast down those imaginations, Put on the armor of God and walk it out in faith. The third thing you have to have is persistence. Because trust me, if you're going to see victory, it's going to be with resistance. If you're going to see manifestation, it's going to be with some battles. We look at that, the Word clearly tells us that. But those battles are not bigger than your God. So you've got to make a determination no matter what I'm going to stand. Here's what persistence is. To go on resolutely or stubbornly, in spite of opposition, importunity or warning. I love the Syrophoenician woman. I mean, the disciples go, she's crying after us. What egos. And she's like, my daughter is grievously vexed with the devil, and she wants to get to Jesus. So she's got to go through all the crowds. She's got to go through the disciples. Egos send her away because they don't know what to do with her. She gets to Jesus and he basically says, it's not my time for you. I'm sent to Israel. You're Canaanite. You're not of covenant. And she's known as a dog. They basically call the Canaanites a dog. Says, look, are the crumbs that are given to the dogs like, are the crumbs? Are they not? I'll take the crumbs, is what she's saying. So when she goes through all that, she's saying, this problem with my daughter is more important to me because it could be anyone else, but this is my daughter, devil, you're not going to get her. And she draws a line in the sand, and she keeps on being persistent. She presses through stubbornly. It's to be insistent in the repetition or pressing of an utterance. It means to continue to exist, especially past the usual, expected or normal time. So here's what I want you to know. Within you is the ability to intentionally bring into being something that you want bad enough. Great people are not people who have everything going for them. Some people think, oh, man, you just make it look so easy, Paula. Or it just happened for you. No, God has no respect for persons. According to the book of Acts, Hebrews 13:6, he's the same today, yesterday, and forevermore. You see, great people are people who refuse to quit, who refuse to settle for less than what God has promised them. You see? Can you be like that Syrophoenician woman? I'm too desperate to be denied. Can you be like Nelson Mandela, Michael Jordan, Paula White, a Donald Trump, whatever your name is? I'm too desperate to be denied. Far too often we give up too soon. We cave in. There's always opposition. The enemy is not going to let you possess the promises of God. Change into possessing the glory of God, which shows the impact of God's presence manifested in your life. Now, he's not going to just sit back and say, go ahead, Paula, just rise to the top. And show how good God is and testify about him. There's going to be opposition to anything that you believe God for. That's why you have a different attitude. Trouble is an incubator for greatness. If your enemies knew what they were teaching you about God, they would leave you alone because God is using your enemies to bless you. Psalm 119, verse 7. It's good for me that I've been afflicted that I might learn thy statues. It's good that people don't always help you. It's good that they didn't give you the money. It's good they didn't give you the breakthrough. Now you're going to see that God is greater than every hater, than every enemy, than every obstacle. And for your faith to function, it takes a certain amount of created tension. All this is an acceleration of activation. Falling down is not failure. It is not the indictment of your capacities. Staying down is. Winston Churchill said it like this. Success is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm. Can you see, as you start this year out by fasting and prayer and giving and putting God first, the principle of first fruits, that by the time you get to September, by the time we get to atonement, you're going to have testimony after testimony after testimony. See, you've got to have desire, intention, and persistence. So I want you to start celebrating your failures as getting one step closer to your victory. And that's why the Bible says rejoice. It means that we're not like other people. When hardship comes, when setbacks come, we look at them different and say, oh, I must be going in the right direction, I must be doing something right, because I don't want to give you some false illusion that when you make an intentional decision today to put God first, to fast, to pray and to give, and God first in your life, God first in your marriage, God first in your ministry, God first in your career, God first in your money, that there's not going to be these setbacks in opposition when they happen, you're going to jump up and spin around wildly. That's what that rejoice is. Now, you can physically do that or you can do that in your mind, depending on how strong your legs are, right? But you're going to go, wow, it's working. Paula said, this is how it's happening. And when I see opposition, I know that I'm making progress. Us. You see, CS Lewis said it like this. When first things are put first, second things are not suppressed, but they are increased. This is the principle of first fruits. And that principle, it's a ruling law. That's what a principle is. It's a ruling law. That principle provides the foundation and structure for God's blessing in your life. Now I want you to hear me. If you're not putting God first in your marriage, how can you two really stay together? Oh, Paula, don't go there. Come on. Life can be very difficult. Marriages end easily in divorce. And if God is not the foundation of that relationship, if God is not the foundation of how you raise your children, how are they going to carry forth the greatest legacy you can ever leave them, which is a spiritual one? If God is not the foundation, if it's not God first of your money, then how can we not be selfish? How can we not be materialistic? How can it not be all about us? Because that's what the world teaches you. Come on, go out, make your own dog. Eat dog. Get yours. Hustle. You're not a hustler. You're a child of God. You don't have to hustle. You have to just obey the principles and promises of God. There's a pattern laid out for your success, for your well being, for your abundant life. And a pattern means an order of arrangement, an order of parts. It's not just that you did one thing and all of a sudden everything comes. It's that you do a multitude of things. You can't have sin in your life. Okay? So let's just think, all right? You have a desire, you're intentional and you're persistent, but you're continually living in sin. It's not going to work. There has to be repentance. There has to be a door shut to sin. There has to be forgiveness, right? So a pattern is an order or arrangement or parts, a model or design which copies can be made. So when God tells us in his words, seek, the word literally means to worship. And worship is not just what you do on Sunday morning. Worship is to build a life that denotes his worth, his honor, and to revere him. So when I'm worshiping, do I honor my spouse the way God has told me to do so in the Word? Because if not, I'm not seeking first. Because first means foremost, first in time, first in place, and first in order of importance. All right? When I'm giving, do I bring the tithe to the storehouse? Do I give offerings regularly? Do I prioritize that God doesn't get the leftovers and the crumbs, but he gets the first of my increase? Especially at the beginning of the year. Because the first fruit principle. There's a difference. First fruit is mentioned 32 times and so is tithe. Tithe is the first tenth of your gross income. But then there is the first fruits offering. Now I recognize we're not in because first fruits has. That's why I teach on the first fruits principle. Because there's a first fruits feast, There's a first fruits offering. Jesus is the first fruits of many brethren. So the principle of first fruits is all firsts belong to God. So when you worship, when you seek first the kingdom of God, you are honoring, you're revering. And what is first, foremost in time, position and order. The kingdom of God, who God is in his way of doing things. So it's pretty simple. We make his presence our priority. So people are going to look and go, there's something different about you, Paula. How have you done this for 40 years in ministry? There's something different about your marriage. There's something different about your life. Not that you haven't gone through the same things we've gone through. And I'm teaching you that difference, that God's Word always works. His presence must be our priority. When you keep first things first through faith and obedience, you turn God's promise into your provision. Because he wants to see you succeed. He wants to see you and give you an abundant life. He's put a principle into place called first fruits. And as such, we do this God's way, not our way. The Bible references first. First fruits of first things are devoted things. No less than 32 times when you come into the land which I gave you and reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priests. Leviticus, chapter 23, verse 9 and 10. It tells us in Proverbs 3, 9, 10. Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the first fruits of all your increase. So your barns or bank accounts in our case will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow. The first represents the total. This is your faith. This is not a heaven or hell issue. This is about applying the that was settled with Jesus Christ and you receiving him. So this is not a salvation issue. This is do I live out the word of God? Because you can be saved and be living miserable. Be struggling and never fulfill your purpose or destiny. That's not God's will. Romans 11:16 says it like this. For if the first fruit is holy, the lump is also holy. And if the root is holy, so are the Branches. So God claims the first of all things. It rightfully belongs to Him. And when we apply the principle of first fruits, we see that all fruit should be given to the Lord. The first of the day, which is the Sabbath, the first month, which is what we do. We're not on the Hebrew calendar in the western world. So this first month we dedicate to prayer, to fasting, to giving the first of our harvest, our increase, because giving is such an important part. And then we see that Matthew chapter 6 fulfilled. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. And all these things will be added. They'll increase to you. So right now I want you to call the toll free number. I want you to go to the website, I want you to write the PO Box you can get by cash app Venmo. There are all the different ways to But I want you to honor God with the first fruit and write to me what you are believing God for this year. I want you to be very clear, have the desire, be intentional and be persistent. And as you honor God first, maybe you can't fast 21 days, but you can do the Daniel's fast. That's the vegetables. Go to our website, get all this information. Or maybe you're fasting a meal a day. I want you to put God first and watch how much your year changes. Watch the promises of God come to pass. Why? Because you're so great? I'm so great? No, because God's word cannot fail. As you put those in place in your life, you see his promises come to pass. God bless you.
