From the heart of Washington, D.C. welcome to a historic national gathering of faith, freedom and revival. Today, Americans from every walk of life unite to boldly proclaim that our hope is not gone, our foundation is not broken, and our nation still belongs to God. This is Rededicate250. We are joined by Pastor Jonathan Shuttlesworth, David Zier, Ben Berkwam, Michelle Backus and voices from across America standing together in prayer and purpose. This is more than an event. This is a rededication of a nation. Live coverage begins right now here on Real America's Voice.
Chris Tomlin
Sam.
David Brody
Now you pioneered it.
Pastor Jonathan Shuttlesworth
I was 28 years old and my wife was 7 years younger than me. And we had never pastored a church and we took it. I think we've been there 38 years now. 36 years. Years, actually 37. 37 years. And we didn't know what we were doing. We were scared to death and God just helped us and it, and it hit revival. You know, I, I just made up my mind, well, what year?
David Brody
What year? Year one.
Pastor Jonathan Shuttlesworth
Yeah, it just kind of started doing like this and it never, it never has stopped.
David Brody
What's something that happened at the church where you realized you it had kind of changed levels and over overflowed the banks?
Pastor Jonathan Shuttlesworth
R.W. shambop, a great evangelist.
David Brody
Yes.
Pastor Jonathan Shuttlesworth
Called me one Saturday afternoon and said
David Brody
this is around when, what year?
Pastor Jonathan Shuttlesworth
I don't remember.
David Brody
90s.
Pastor Jonathan Shuttlesworth
It's, it's at least, yeah, something like that. We had been in our old sanctuary maybe a month or two. We'd just gotten in it and it was, and he called on a Sunday, on a Saturday afternoon. I didn't know him, had never met him. He was alleged in my eyes and I knew nothing. I don't know how he knew about the church, but to make a long story short, he said, can I come preach at your church Sunday night? I feel like the Lord told me to come and I said, absolutely, we'd
Chris Tomlin
love to have you.
Pastor Jonathan Shuttlesworth
And the place was packed. And he came in and he got up and he started to preach and he closed his Bible and he said, the spirit of the Lord spoke to me that this young event, this young pastor, pastor and his wife are supposed to be on tv and I'm going
David Brody
to take an offering for you.
Pastor Jonathan Shuttlesworth
I'm going to take an offering. He took an offering, got $138,000, cash.
David Brody
I believe it.
Michelle Backus
Wow.
Pastor Jonathan Shuttlesworth
We went and bought cameras and an edit machine. Didn't even know what to do with them and stuff. And got on local cable tv. And when we did that, the church, we've got bought time every night at 7pm We. I didn't know what we were doing. I was crazy.
David Brody
And you know, that's a lot of money.
Pastor Jonathan Shuttlesworth
You're literally riding. Well, it was cable, though. It was just Hall County. It was just a little. And it was very cheap, so. So that's what we did. And the church exploded. Every seat was filled. God started moving. So that's when I kind of.
Patriot Mobile Representative
You.
Pastor Jonathan Shuttlesworth
That's the first thing that comes to my mind.
David Brody
It was like, that's supernatural. For him to call, to come and then raise an offering like that. That was the Holy Ghost. It was.
Chris Tomlin
It was.
David Brody
And you're doing great now. And then you got Greenville, where else? Greenville, South Carolina.
Ben Burkhorn
Right.
David Brody
You have a church there?
Pastor Jonathan Shuttlesworth
Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Frank Gaffney
Sorry.
Pastor Jonathan Shuttlesworth
Orange County, California. And we have a new campus we're starting in Destin this year. Destin, Florida. And we have six campuses in the Atlanta area.
David Brody
Wow, that's awesome. So what now that, that's enough document. Occupy the rest of your life. But what, what else are you kind of feeling beyond that? Recently?
Pastor Jonathan Shuttlesworth
I, I love, I love what God has been doing in our nation specifically. And I've given a lot of time to be here. I don't talk about it a lot because I want the people that we minister to to be able to, to trust us and know.
David Brody
Right.
Pastor Jonathan Shuttlesworth
That we're not going to. But I, I, if people understood the people in this government and how much they love God, they're having devotions, they're having Bible sessions. They're bringing us in and asking us to teach and preach and do what we can do to help them stay
Vice President Kamala Harris
encouraged of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor. These were the opening lines of America's first ever Thanksgiving proclamation. But whatever milestone it represented in the brief life of our young republic, the duty Washington describes to honor, obey, and give thanks to our Creator was woven into America's character long before the founding. A keen awareness of that duty has stretched all the way back from William Bradford's own pilgrim proclamation in 1623, to the opening prayer of our first Continental Congress, to Lincoln's call for national thanksgiving in the midst of the Civil War, to this very gathering today. We have always been and still are a nation of prayer. And thank God for that. In times of service, suffering and in times of triumph, millions of Americans continue to turn to prayer and their faith in God. John Adams famously said that our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. It was obvious to the founders that our faith was the ground upon which America stands. It was our very foundation as a people. And if this foundation were to crumble, so too would the very values that make us Americans. From our religious inheritance comes many of the virtues and institutions we most cherish as a people. Our system of justice, our generosity to neighbors, our respect for conscience, and the moral discipline necessary for liberty itself. As my dear friend, the late, great Charlie Kirk put it, all law reflects a morality. Neither law nor morality appears in a vacuum, but ultimately come from religion. And the morality and religion that formed the American consciousness were decidedly Christian, founded upon the principles and the divinity of Jesus Christ. In 1783, Washington also proclaimed that imitation of divine charity is necessary for the mutual affection of our citizenry and the happiness of our nation. If we do not see that God loves us, we have little reason and little inspiration to love one another. This love, which forms our morality, is the foundation of a peaceful and healthful society. That's why it's so encouraging to see a renewed sense of faith emerging among America's young people. Defying predictions, the experts said that religion and faith were dying. Today, a wave of young Americans is returning to the pews, and we know that they're looking for meaning, for authority, for direction, and, of course, for closeness with God. That should give all of us hope for our future together as Americans. It certainly gives me hope as your vice president, because prayer is not merely something we do in times of crisis. It is a continual disposition of love toward God. And through that love, toward one another, through our fellow citizens, as we celebrate 250 years. I thank you all for joining on such a happy and wonderful occasion. And just as I pray for all of you, I ask for your prayers for me, for the president, and for the entire cabinet. I always ask people to pray for wisdom and for courage for their leadership. Pray for wisdom that we know the path God wants us to walk. Pray for courage that we have the ability to walk that path. You'll be in my prayers, as I hope I'll be in yours. May God bless you all.
David Brody

great how great I got. And therefore therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord to the glory of God the Father. Amen. Amen. Come on church, can we just lift our hands? All across this field, all over our nation today we say you're the name of all, worthy of all. My heart will see how great. I. Praise God, praise God. Name above every name. Amen. Amen. Amen. Sam.
David Brody
Yes, because they have to.
David
They have to because they can't. Everybody's seeing it on social media now that it's completely different and so they have to change their narrative. That's actually a major point nobody's talking about because we're actually getting back to basics on multiple fronts in this country. What about Donald Trump, his first administration? He changed the courts to bring in constitutionalists on the judge side. Well, now we're seeing on multiple fronts, he's bringing everything back to the original documents, our declaration, our Constitution. Whether that's in the classroom, in the courtroom, all across the board, there is multiple things that are happening policy wise that are so significant. And then on the foreign side, we're seeing nations respect America again. That's not just good for America, that's good for other nations.

David
because we hold a standard and nations look in on us and they go, oh, if America can be can be that, then we can be like that.
Ben Burkhorn
Right?
David
And I will just plug this because it's a UN thing. The United States has a bill on the table right now called the Defund Act.
Missionary
I didn't know that.
David Brody
Oh, most people don't know. I'm very interested in that.
Missionary
Oh yeah.
David
So it would get the United States out of any UN treaties. It would remove us from any kind of involuntary or voluntary funding stream to the un. It could spur on other nations to get the UN funding out from their own budgets. But then it would also kicked the UN off the shores of America.
Frank Gaffney
Wow.
Michelle Backus
Insane.
David
They've tried to push this bill. I think it's two or three other times through Congress died every time. Now there's a potential that we might actually see it go through. Midterms are going to be so significant for that. But then look at redistricting. Look at all that, look at all the challenges and look all the successes and victories we're having on that. Yes, that's generational. The courts Being filled with constitutionalists. That was Trump's first administration. That's generational change. And now we're going to see redistrict. That's going to be gender generational.
David Brody
The judges are like the judge appointments are the biggest thing from winning a presidential election that has 30 year consequences.
David
Exactly.
David Brody
There's a lot of reasons to be encouraged.
David
A lot of reasons. It's exciting.
David Brody
Where are you going from here?
David
I'm going to Oklahoma City.
David Brody
Tell me about it.
David
I just got an opportunity to be on a podcast. I can't say who it's with, but it's a brand new podcast and it's going to be with, if I were to say the Christian, I'll put it this way. Christian craft. Craft business. Everybody would know about it. So I just got an opportunity there.
David Brody
Congratulations on all your success and thanks for all the help on Check the News and with the church.
David
You are a blessing. I know you know that. But you've impacted my life in so many ways that I honor you and I want. I can almost cry. I want to say thank you.
Missionary
You're welcome.
David
Because you, you've changed my life in so many ways and I have the boldness I have now because of you and because of you taking a stand.
Michelle Backus
So thank you, John.
David Brody
I appreciate that. Touched my heart. Matea Merritt to everybody who was with us on Check the News and when we started the church and a massive help. All the best. Oklahoma City and everywhere you go. So what, it's over now? No, but I'm saying there's no more events up there. 100 million Christians. They got 30 acts booked. They're gonna get 10 more. Where's Carmen's backup band or whatever? Good Lord, who put this thing together? Can't get. Can't get a couple more people. Where's DC Talk? The ones that aren't in jail
Frank Gaffney

the other two guys sing Jesus Freak or something. I know Michael tape's not available. And get Billy Graham's grandson or something. Just going to end it. We're rededicated America to God. Can't even make it till sundown. Let me get Migalis back up with me and let's just make them sorry they gave us microphones. We're heading up till 7 o'.
Chris Tomlin
Clock.
David Brody
We'll be with you till 8, folks at 6:33 on the east Coast. A really monumental day. And you know it's monumental when all of the anti church church sites are up in arms. Next guest. All right, let's do it. Please welcome all the way From Dallas, Texas, Patriot Mobile. Good to have you. Pleasure to meet you. So I know a little about Patriot Mobile, but tell me and everybody watching about your great company.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Check, check, check. Yeah, so I just came on board this week. So I've been a pastor for 14 years at Gateway Church.
David Brody
Oh, yeah. In South Lake.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Yeah. And so I grew up there and was a youth pastor for seven years and then pastored at.
David Brody
You don't have to tell me your exact street address, but are you. Are you in South Lake?
Patriot Mobile Representative
Not anymore.
David Brody
But you lived there?
Patriot Mobile Representative
I worked there, but I lived in Frisco.
David Brody
Oh, Frisco, too. Those are two places that when people write negative stuff about America online, like this country is going down, I think I bet you you don't live in South. Because when you're there, it's like America. Yeah, they're great places, huh?
Patriot Mobile Representative
Yeah, totally.
David Brody
All right, so go ahead. So you pastor for 14 years?
Patriot Mobile Representative
Yeah.
David Brody
And then tell me how the Patriot Mobile opened up.
Patriot Mobile Representative
I mean, really, we just started attending certain events and I was speaking at certain events, and they were. They were funding lots of these ministries and lots of these organizations that were expanding the gospel or defending our freedoms. I call it offense and defense. Patriot Mobile does both. And they talked to me a few months ago about starting Patriot Mobile Faith, which was just overseeing the faith organizations that they already support, growing that. And then I had a burden to really help the church. The past six years, I've been at the center for Israel and just helping church understand Israel, understand the theology, understand how do we balance biblical Israel, modern Israel. Does that mean I have to support Bibi, like all that kind of stuff that.
David Brody
Most of which really flared up the last two years.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Oh, yeah, it's crazy. And you always hear the, you know, far end of the spectrum. And we wanted to bring the biblical balance. And so with Patriot Mobile Faith, we're going to have more content, podcasts, teachings, articles to help that same kind of nuance, intention when it comes to abortion, immigration, Islamic, and just try to help the church and support the churches as they struggle with these topics.
David Brody
Tell me for everybody that's watching that has a mobile phone, which would be about everybody. What sets Patriot Mobile apart?
Patriot Mobile Representative
Well, that's a great question.
Missionary
Thanks.
David Brody
I thought of it myself.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Most of the other carriers are these big woke organizations and corporations, and most people don't realize that they give a portion of. Of every dollar to support things like Planned Parenthood, LGBTQ activism, and there was no other solution. And so Glenn and Jenny, our founders, they said, well, we want to Create a Christian and conservative alternative that has the same great quality of service. But we bring that same portion of every dollar and we give it to embrace grace, which helps moms walk through unplanned pregnancies and plans baby showers or lifewise, which is getting the Bible back into to public schools or moms for gun rights and protecting the second Amendment. So they launched Patriot Mobile, and it's using the same towers that you use at, AT and T or Verizon or T Mobile. And what's even better is if you're, you know, in Frisco and you have great Verizon service, you can be on Patriot Mobile and get the Verizon towers and you have the same great service. But if you move and you're like, oh, actually, AT&T is big out here. Here, you don't have to go call AT&T, switch your phone plan, say, hey, we'll put you on the AT&T towers. So you're getting the best coverage no matter where you go.
David Brody
And you know, your money's going not. Not to your enemies, to your friends.
Patriot Mobile Representative
100.
David Brody
That's awesome. Tell me when you felt. Called in the ministry. How old?
Patriot Mobile Representative
I was going into my senior year.
David Brody
Youth camp or what?
Patriot Mobile Representative
It was a youth camp. It was.
David Brody
What state? In Texas.
Patriot Mobile Representative
In Texas. And I had my whole life planned out. You know, my family was in financial advising and stockbroking, and so I was.
David Brody
They were devastated when you said you wanted to go to the ministry.
Patriot Mobile Representative
I was kind of devastated when I felt the Lord called me to ministry. My first response was, I don't want to be poor.
Missionary
Right.
Patriot Mobile Representative
I had never met a pastor. I had, like, you know, brief relationships at churches.
David Brody
They never had any money.
Patriot Mobile Representative
And I never. I never had, like, a family member. Most pastors, you're like, oh, my grandfather was a pastor, my uncle was a pastor.
Frank Gaffney
I knew.
Patriot Mobile Representative
No, I had no idea what they did. Literally thought that they just stayed in Starbucks and, you know, met people in planned messages. So when God called me, not far off. Yeah, for some. For some people, I guess so, yeah.
David Brody
There are a lot of coffee shops.
Patriot Mobile Representative
There's a lot of. That part was.
David Brody
Especially in Texas, it's hard to get in and out of a service without somebody asking if they can pray for you.
Patriot Mobile Representative
That's true.
David Brody
Go ahead.
Patriot Mobile Representative
That's the good part of Texas. Yeah. So I just. I said, lord, if you're really calling me to ministry, you're gonna need to confirm it. And not like a bird confirmation, but, like, really confirm it. The next week, I got Asked to be an FCA leader at my school. I got asked to lead a campus crusades for Christ at my school and asked to be an intern at my church. And I was like, dang.
David Brody
So then what'd you do after high school?
Patriot Mobile Representative
So right after high school, I mean, the only person that I knew in ministry was my youth pastor. So I said, what did you do? Because God called me to be a pastor, and he said, well, I went to DBU and got a biblical studies major. Well, great. So I'm going to dbu and I'm getting a biblical studies major because I had no other.
David Brody
Which is what? Dallas Bible Baptist. Dallas Baptist University University.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Yep. Beautiful campus.
David Brody
And you went there?
Patriot Mobile Representative
I went there and. And then got out of Bible school.
David Brody
And then what?
Patriot Mobile Representative
And then I was. I became a kid's pastor for six months, and then a role opened up in the church that I was a part of as a. As a high schooler. Right. To be the youth pastor. And I youth pastored there for seven years.
David Brody
How'd you get on the radar at Gateway?
Patriot Mobile Representative
I. I was at Gateway. I was a student. I was doing a Gateway. Yeah. So I never left.
David Brody
Oh, I see. That's great. What an awesome testimony. So then you felt the transition to do this. How'd that open up?
Patriot Mobile Representative
Well, so before I went from youth ministry, I went to the center for Israel, which was a crazy shift for people.
David Brody
Where's that located?
Patriot Mobile Representative
It's within Gateway. It's a ministry within Gateway.
David Brody
That's a safe distance from the Middle East.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Yeah, we go to the Middle east quite often. Israel, Georgia.
David Brody
It's nice to advocate for Israel from Texas.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Yeah, it's much safer, for sure. But we have. We have so many messianic Jewish friends in Israel and all over the world.
David Brody
Yes.
Patriot Mobile Representative
And we support them and we try to unite with them, because when we do relationship as Jews and Gentiles, I mean, Jews read the Bible so differently, especially with the messianic Jewish perspective. There's things that they read and instantly understand went way over our heads.
David Brody
Right.
Patriot Mobile Representative
And so that was the first kind of big shift. People were like, why is he going from youth ministry to the center for Israel? That's not a normal stepping stool in the church.
Pastor Jonathan Shuttlesworth
And.
Patriot Mobile Representative
And I just had this huge heart to understand the Jewish context of our faith. And then that led me to actually doing a Hanukkah party for the Jewish conservatives of America. I was the token Christian pastor. Just talking about how really how unbiblical replacement theology is, because it's basically the idea that God had a covenant with Israel, but then they rejected him. So now he has a covenant with the church and you're like, so Israel is God's ex wife and we're his new bride. Does that sound like the faithfulness of God to you? But actually it defames his character.
Missionary
Right.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Replacement theology isn't just illogical, it actually defames God's character.
Radio Host
Right.
David Brody
Because he said it was an everlasting covenant.
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah.
Patriot Mobile Representative
So we try to help people nuance. So I spoke at a Hanukkah party and Glenn and Jenny happened to be there in the audience. And so that started the relationship and we started doing things about, you know, Islam coming into Texas.
David Brody
Yes. Like that epic city.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Yeah. And the thing about Islam is, you know, we need to be articulate and we need to understand the Quran and Islam. But if you don't understand Israel, then you kind of are missing the forest through the trees. Because Islam and Christianity will often shake hands when it comes to persecuting Jews.
David Brody
Right.
Patriot Mobile Representative
And I've seen it, you see it now in the far right and the far left.
Chris Tomlin
Left.
David Brody
Yes.
Patriot Mobile Representative
The one thing that they're seeing clearly on is oh, but the Jews run the world. And you know, we can, we can unify against Jews.
David Brody
Yes.
Patriot Mobile Representative
And so if you understand Islam but don't understand Israel, then we're going to find ourselves in a similar situation as the Crusades where it's Christianity versus Islam but the Jews are caught in the middle.
Ben Burkhorn
Right.
David Brody
So that's a great way to put it. So you're based out of Texas still?
Patriot Mobile Representative
Yeah, we're based out of Texas.
David Brody
The great place to base.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Yeah. The Patriot Mobile office is seven minutes from Gateways.
David Brody
So that's awesome.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Yeah, I lost no time on my commute. I had a 35 minute commute, now it's 33.
David Brody
Tell me what brought you here to this event.
Patriot Mobile Representative
This is the first event that I'm,

Patriot Mobile Representative
Mobile. So this is my first week.
David Brody
What are you doing with Patriot Mobile here?
Patriot Mobile Representative
I did the rap show this whole morning.
David Brody
Oh, you did, huh?
Patriot Mobile Representative
I was a co host with David and Ben and Michelle and we were just here talking about the show behind us and we had amazing guests. Tim Barton from Wall Builders, Jacob Boyens, who's planting Mercy culture Church in D.C. next Sunday. So we just had some great conversations talking about the separation of church and state and what that really means, what that meant when Thomas. Thomas Jefferson wrote it, and how it's been completely misapplied in our current situation
David Brody
that Christians are to have no role whatsoever in America.
Frank Gaffney
Anything.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Yeah. So we just. We've had had fun conversations. So we're here. We have some awesome T shirts I'd love to. To get you. To you guys, it's a called a Jesus tour T shirt. We tried to make a T shirt that looked like it was in your mom's closet from the 80s.
Missionary
I would love that.
David Brody
As long as you don't mind me cutting the sleeves off.
Missionary
Cut the sleeve.
Patriot Mobile Representative
That's what they want made for. We only put sleeves on it so they could be cut off. We didn't want it to look too clean.
David Brody
Velcroed on who was exceptionally powerful this morning on the stage that stood out to you? I wasn't here and I didn't watch who was good.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Okay, well, no one sounded as good as Chris Tomlin.
David Brody
He did great.
Patriot Mobile Representative
He did amazing. And there were certain. Certain worship experience that didn't have that kind of sound quality. We were talking earlier. We were like, chris Tomlin's guys have it locked in. So he was incredible. Obviously he's anointed. I know you had him on the show when you were interviewing the guy who did the prayer of the inauguration. What's his name?
David Brody
Bishop Saul.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Okay. He's incredible.
David Brody
Yes.
Patriot Mobile Representative
But the one that I thought was most impactful was Lou Angle around what
David Brody
time was he on?
Patriot Mobile Representative
He was in the afternoon, maybe like 1 or 2pm but he had everyone get on his knees and he said, we need to repent. We need to repent personally and as a nation. And so you saw this entire field filled with people on their knees. He cried out repentance, repented for personal sins, sins of our nation, and then told everyone to stand, raised their hand. We're going to declare that God is the king of the universe, king of the nations.
David Brody
But really what sins of the nation? Sorry, for what? Winning World War II, bailing everyone out.
Patriot Mobile Representative
I think there's a great.
David
I knew that was coming.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Prayer meeting yesterday. Talking about how scripture talks about the three things that will lose the favor of God. One is idolatry, one is greed and then one is the killing of innocent children.
David Brody
Yes.
Patriot Mobile Representative
And so we've seen that happen and increase in America and so we have to recorrect soon or else it's like the Canaanites. You know, there's a certain level he's
David Brody
giving you time has enough to repent.
Patriot Mobile Representative
But we don't want to be on the other side of that.
David Brody
No, absolutely. I'm glad you're doing everything you're doing. You can tell you know your Bible and you're a minister, you know, and that's good that you're going into all these spheres. I'm sure you're going to have massive impact. The kingdom of God.
Patriot Mobile Representative
I appreciate it.
David Brody
Glad to meet you.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Yeah, nice to meet you guys too. Thanks for having me on.
Michelle Backus
Thanks for being on.
David Brody

Patriot Mobile Representative
Thank you so much.
David Brody
So who do we have left on? Wow. Place cleared out now. If you don't know much about Christians, there's going to be a percentage of the crowd that's going to ask if they can crash on the lawn. Can't get a hotel.
Ben Burkhorn
Get going, lady.
David Brody
Good to see you ladies.
Chris Tomlin
Hello.
David Brody
Love the. Love the outfit.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Yeah.
Michelle Backus
So sparkly.
David Brody
Say it again. Dallas, Texas. You look great.
Michelle Backus
Wow. Howdy. Great job.
David Brody
Thanks for. It was. It was a blessing.
David
Yes.
David Brody
I live right here at the park. Yes.
David
We're from Pittsburgh. We're from Pittsburgh.
David Brody
Yes.
David
We should.
David Brody
We interviewed some of the people that had that. That were the guests on the stage.
Chris Tomlin
Age.
David Brody
Yes. Real America's voice. Take it. You can take it there. God bless you. Reminds me of Apollo Creed.
David
Yes.
David Brody
From the Rocky. The Rocky expedition.
Michelle Backus
I'm going to get a card now
Patriot Mobile Representative
hang on a second. I got to pick this up.
David Brody
There you go. You got a prayer shaw, cargo shorts and hey, dudes. That's the charismatic summer outfit.
David
Yes, absolutely.
Michelle Backus
I've had been handed so many cars
David
parts, I never even thought people use these things anymore.
David Brody
But I guess real America's voice going to spend 180 bucks and get mic stands. I've been having to hold this up. Who's this?
Michelle Backus
Oh, yeah. Come on. Oh, yeah.
David
Jump in, sit down.
David Brody
You were on this morning.
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah, how are you?
David Brody
How'd it go?
Missionary
Yeah, great.
Ben Burkhorn
I was wearing my Patriot mobile hat all day. This is the one I wear most of the time.
David Brody
That'll clear the street.
Michelle Backus
That's fantastic.
Chris Tomlin
Look at you, huh?
David Brody
That's great. I bet the line shortens at Starbucks when you walk in. That's for you. That's for you.
David
That's blessing for you.
Patriot Mobile Representative
There you go.
David
That's for you.
David Brody
I can't believe people came to this thing to network.
Michelle Backus
I've gotten several cards.
David Brody
Really?
Ben Burkhorn
It's always like that?
Michelle Backus
Yeah, it's pretty cool.
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah. Well, the problem is I have stacks of them at home and I'm like,
Michelle Backus
how do you keep track of it all?
Ben Burkhorn
I don't.
David Brody
Tell me how you got into broadcasting, man.
Ben Burkhorn
Started with crack addiction and then God turned my life around and it was.
David Brody
I'm glad for you. It started with crack addiction because usually that's how it ends.
Ben Burkhorn
I know. No, it actually started when I was young. Are we on or are we just on? We're on. We're on right now.
Chris Tomlin
Geez.
Patriot Mobile Representative
We're just. I thought we were just talking.
David Brody
No, that's how unprofessional we are.
Ben Burkhorn
No, I love it.
David Brody
You can't tell.
Ben Burkhorn
It's authentic.
Missionary
So I started.
Ben Burkhorn
You know, God called me early in my life. My dad, who's actually here with us right now, he was a. They were missionaries in Africa. Really? Pastors, West Africa, Nigeria, Burkina Faso.
David Brody
Niger.
Ben Burkhorn
My sister was born in Joust.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Nigeria.
David Brody
They were missionaries to Niger?
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
David Brody
They're like real missionaries.
Ben Burkhorn
Oh, like legit.
David Brody
Not that Nigerians are walking the park,
Ben Burkhorn
but Niger, Yeah, no joke.
David Brody
Is high difficulty.
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah, it's up there. I mean, it's a commitment. And so they actually. We came back on furlough. You were there, too? Yeah, when I was a kid.
David Brody
How old?
Ben Burkhorn
We came back when I was five, so I can't count. Oh, yeah, yeah. Well, it's one of those things when you hear people talk about oppression or poverty in America. I'm like, you guys Come on. You don't even know what you're talking about.
David Brody
No, you don't.
Ben Burkhorn
You haven't been to a third world country and seen how people have to live and what they take, what we take for granted. You know, it's one of those. It was a great foundation. And then we moved back to America. Supposed to be three weeks. Ended up being 30 years in California. My dad became a pastor out there. And Central Valley. We were in the Sierra Nevada outside of Fresno. So it was.
David Brody
Tell me about his church.
Ben Burkhorn
Oak View Baptist, Southern Baptist. And then he ended up retiring as a conservative Presbyterian in Sanger, California.
David Brody
I know where Sanger is. That's one of the only places I've preached in California.
Missionary
Really?
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah, that's right. We sold our house in Sanger. We moved to Arkansas about five years ago.
David Brody
Where are you in Arkansas? You don't have to give me your hot springs. Oh, good pick.
Ben Burkhorn
I know, I know. It's awesome. It's awesome. So. But. But all of that, preacher's kid going the right way. God's call on my life. When I was 10, 11 years old, he put a vision on my heart. I was going to be leading his armies.
David Brody
Where were you when you got the vision?
Ben Burkhorn
In California.
David Brody
But I mean, like. Like church service. Bedroom.
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah. No, church service. And then. And then in school is this kind of ongoing vision. And it was one of those things I ran away from for a long time and got into drugs and alcohol. Got turned my life around after college.
David Brody
You got into the kind of drugs that. If I was gonna get into drugs, I would. Because I don't understand. Like, heroin. Because it makes you tired.
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah, I'm already tired. Yeah. When I got into it, I had mono for years.
David Brody
Yes.
Ben Burkhorn
And it was like, wake me up. Get me. You know something.
David Brody
You're talking my language.
Ben Burkhorn
And then it was. And then it was just. The devil just started taking me down. And at one point, I was. Was either. And I was married at the time. And I had a young daughter and a daughter on the way. My wife, we were 10 years married. We just celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary.
David Brody
And you're saying now you celebrated your 21st?
Ben Burkhorn
21st. This last year. She stayed with me through all of us.
David Brody
She's a keeper.
Ben Burkhorn
She's amazing.
David Brody
These other preachers, drop of a hat.
Ben Burkhorn
She's amazing. I mean, we. The lowest of lows. I was either going to end up in prison or death cracks back and she didn't know.
David Brody
Nobody has, like a casual crack.
Ben Burkhorn
I was living a double life. Nobody knew And I just. And it was, you know, it was one of the things that just get worse and worse and worse. And I'm like, I kept praying, God, take this away from me, but don't let my wife find out. This was a prayer over and over and over. And the night I came clean to her, I heard the Lord say, you kept praying that she wouldn't know when. She's the only one that needs to. You're set free. And there's a verse in Peter, husbands, honor your wives, lest your prayers be hindered.
David Brody
That's pretty powerful.
Ben Burkhorn
And it was that night 10 years ago in October and I was set free and set back on this journey. And that was where you said, how many years ago? 10 years in October. So it's been nine years.
David Brody
That's amazing. Yeah, you made a major turnaround quick.
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah. And it was literally those overnight and God, within a week, God put me back on this trajectory. We started doing Facebook Live videos. It started with a in California at Walmart showing how the ridiculousness of the plastic bag bands. And I showed how you could get around it by going to the produce section. And it was a stupid little video that kind of unlocked this door. And it was like, oh, wow, this resonates with people. And then I started confronting politicians in California going up against antifa. You are brilliant.
David Brody
You seen it?
Ben Burkhorn
Oh yeah.
David
We actually played some at Check the News quite often.
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so, and then I went up against antifa and it was one of those things where it's like, okay, God set me free. I was eating, are going to be in prison or dead. Now I have life again. Let's go, let's go. And so it was antifa. And I got stitches in Berkeley and, and attacked over and over and over.
David Brody
What, somebody hits you from behind?
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah, yeah. Sticks over there.
David Brody
I knew one of those guys wouldn't have done it. Face off.
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah. No, no, they're cowards. They're only tougher.
David Brody
They have the bone density of a 91 year old woman. You'd have laid them out.
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah, yeah. But that was, that was the, the call in my life was like, all right, if, if, if I'm going to be a tight simply for wearing a MAGA hat in our country, what are my daughters going to grow up into? And I actually prayed about it when I went home because I ended up getting 13 stitches. My 6 year old had to see what I looked like. And I'm like, all right, God, is this worth it? And it was really clear if you don't do it as the leader of your household, as a husband and the father of your household, who's going to do it? It's going to be your daughters that have to do it. And so then it was, all right, we're doing it. And it went from there, there to go. And no one was covering the border. I met angel moms, and I'm like, how are American citizens being murdered by illegals? Nobody knows about it. The mainstream media is lying to them. And so I just started reporting. So getting back to the beginning of your question, I was never trained as a journalist. I got my undergrad degree in kinesiology, exercise science or fitness. I got my mba, and then God just called me back into this. And so I filled the void I saw where no one's talking about this thing that's really important. It was originally God, family, and country. Exposing the godless woke churches out there in California, where we live.
David Brody
Oh, you were doing that?
Ben Burkhorn
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I mean, we were out fighting for Prop 8 against gay marriage and the rest of it, and I saw that encroachment, really?
Patriot Mobile Representative
That's why we're here.
Ben Burkhorn
The church has been compromised for so long. Yes, that was my focus. And then God said, well, if we don't have borders, we don't have a country.
Missionary
Correct.
Ben Burkhorn
And that was where the pivot shifted to the border. Ten years later, you know, we're doing our sixth season of Law and Border on Real America's Voice News. I met Rob Sig in a bathroom at cpac. We bumped into each other. We prayed with each other. A week later, one of the former producers at the network, Mark Leonard, said, hey, we need a border guy. And Rob said. Or, excuse me, vice versa. Rob said, we need a border guy. Mark said, hey, check this guy out. He's like, hey, that's the guy prayed with @CPAC. Get him on the phone. So literally, it was three weeks later. I was working for Rude America's Voice. That's seven years ago. And it's just been God's. God's hand in every step of the journey.
David Brody
So Rob does ambush prayers a lot. He won't even, like, ask you, can I pray? He just, like, starts praying. I feel kind of violated. I've never consented to this prayer. We love you, Rob. But.
Ben Burkhorn
But it's. Yeah, it's been. It's been an amazing journey. Working on a first book right now called Step Into Fear, about the fear that used to help hold me in bondage, that held me in the crack addiction to the fear. We've been in shootouts in the jungle down in Panama, where God's just, you know, every step of the way, it's either the thing that holds you back or the thing that launches you. And so that's shootouts in Panama. Yeah, all kinds of.
Michelle Backus
That was just recently.
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah, about four years ago. During Biden. Yeah, during Biden. So it was just wild, man.
Chris Tomlin
But.
Ben Burkhorn
And I look at the. This, you know, going down there. My dad's here now. We flew in. We're actually on vacation right now. If you can't tell.
David Brody
Your dad's here.
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah, he's here. Paul. Have anyone seen my dad? If you look out.
David Brody
Hey, a medical alert bracelet.
Ben Burkhorn
David, can you go find my dad? I know. Blue shirt. All right. He's looking for him, but. So we're on vacation. We go down to Florida every year to celebrate my daughter's birthday.
David Brody
Where do you like in Florida?
Ben Burkhorn
Panhandle. I like all over, but we're. We live in Arkansas, so closest direct is Panhandle.
David Brody
Yep.
Ben Burkhorn
So we go down there outside of Panama City, and so we got. You know, we had this planned. Or we're not coming to the. Or we're going to that. And then Rob calls me up. It's like, hey, can you be there for the rededication? I'm like, you have to be here this day to stand there with Chris Tomlin singing. Your name is the highest in the city. That. That reshaped the world because of the founding fathers 250 years ago, saying, we're going to make a nation, one nation under God, the first nation under God in world's history. And to see. To be able to have that opportunity as a guy who's seen all over the world, who's been pulled out of the pit of addiction, and to see that hope and then to see the battles that we deal with, these crazies in the streets that really. They're just empty, and they need the Lord. And unfortunately, here's my dad. Unfortunately, you know, that's just. We've been compromised. And so it's. It's. What a powerful day. What an incredibly powerful day.
David Brody
You seem like you've had, like, a pretty dramatic encounter with God since the addiction.
Ben Burkhorn
Oh, yeah.
David Brody
Or like, when you got it.
Ben Burkhorn
Tell me about it.
David Brody
Tell me what happened.
Ben Burkhorn
Dad, you know. You want a chair, dad?
David Brody
There they go. No, no, no, no, no, no. It's cool. We're here. No, no, no, you stay.
Frank Gaffney
You stay.
Ben Burkhorn
It was. And we got to get you a mic. Dad, where's your Mic. I'll share my mic. But it was. It's been a journey on it, you know, God's hand in all of it, from the beginning. I mean, even early on, you know, to deny God is the most idiotic thing that you can do in this universe. That everything points to God. That's right now, doctrine, where you stand on and that, obviously, that's a journey for everyone. You have to encounter Christ. You have to encounter God personally. But what I saw in my journey, get back to my wife, to have the chains broke in that moment, and then to go through. We went through two years of no income, and it was so imagine this. So I just come out of addiction. Three years of a double life that she doesn't know about. Within three weeks, God had redeemed our marriage, had brought her back to me. I could have lost her forever. And then a couple months later, I say, babe, I'm quitting my job. I don't know what I'm going to do, but I know God's calling me to do this, and we have to trust him. Nine months. We went for two years with no income. The first nine months, it was, you know, her just saying, you got to get a job, you got to get a job, you got to do something. We got to make money. And every single month along the way, God provided and in ways that you just supernatural. It was all supernatural. And so to be standing here, I mean, it's just story after story after story of encounter that I've witnessed, I experienced personally.
David Brody
You can tell it's not. You can tell it's real. Your wife didn't make the trip, did she?
Ben Burkhorn
No, she's still. I love you, Billy.
David Brody
My wife's here. I would love for my wife to meet your wife. She stuck with you through crack addiction. I leave a couple plates in the sink, my wife is threatening to leave. It's insane. I wish I was joking. Your son said that you were a missionary to Niger, which. You don't hear that too much. That's a country not too many preachers go into. Tell me about how that opened up.
Missionary
Well, it goes back to an older brother. Just kept praying for me and working with me. I was raised Lutheran, but just went away from the church in high school and was going to university.
David Brody
So you ran the evangelical gamut. You've been Lutheran, Baptist and Presbyterian. It's like a hatchet.
Missionary
Well, a few others. I was saved in the Nazarene Church.
David Brody
You ran the spec. Good job. So go ahead.
Missionary
So anyway, the short of the story is I. My older brother, who's since passed away, but he just kept praying for me. Pablo used to call me, say, hey, can you come to church with me tonight? Sunday night? I'm kind of busy, kind of, you know. Okay. Okay. And that's when I really came, had a conviction. I knew if I died, I was going to hell. I just knew it. I was lost and I was blind. And so a few things happened within the next few months, and I just came to the end of myself. I looked good outside, but inside I was a mess. And so I just. I went back to that pastor back in 1970, up in Bellevue, Washington. Went to his office.
David Brody
I know where that is.
Missionary
Yeah, outside of Seattle.
David Brody
It's like the nice part of Seattle.
Missionary
It's east of Seattle, on the other side of Lake Washington. Yeah. And, yeah, my dad worked for Boeing. So anyway, I just surrendered my life to Christ that day. And when I walked out of there, I knew something major had changed in my life. And so I ended up back in Escondido, down Southern California, and started going to a church, Emmanuel Faith. And anyway, they had a missions conference every year for a week. And so Bill Brights founder, campus crusader for Christ, he was there and he did a call. Anybody that might be interested in going, you know, into missions, come forward. They had all these mission organizations. SIM was one of them that was there. And Sudan Interior Mission is what it used to be. And they, well, how'd you like to go to Niger Republic and work on a construction crew? Crew? I said, that sounds great.
David Brody
That's wild. Sometimes it's good to not know everything.
Missionary
It is. It's much better, actually. So I was there for six months. And the construction team built a hangar out at the airport. They have a hangar. They have the airport in Miami, Bible school buildings, we built those. And then right at the end, I end up going down to pick up some vehicles with another guy and I got malaria. And so.
David Brody
Which is very bad.
Missionary
Well, you get it in three stages. First you think you're gonna die, then you know you're gonna die because everything is bad. And then you're afraid you might not die.
David Brody
He's telling the truth.
Missionary
So I was praying. I said, okay, God, I'll come over here with these mosquitoes. Love me. So I said, I need a wife who's a nurse. She can help keep me alive. So I ended up the the next summer in Cincinnati, and we took inner city kids to into Northern Kentucky at a really rustic camp, really wild inner city kids. But she was a camp Nurse. My wife was a camp nurse. So I stayed there for a year. We got married and ended up back in Africa in Burkina Faso, in a very remote village, southeast corner of Burkina Faso, and it's been known as the snake capital of West Africa.
David Brody
Oh, you got to be joking.
Missionary
My wife does not like snakes. They got these little minute vipers and they call them it bit in the local language. That's it. It bit and that's it.
David Brody
You were a real missionary. You don't meet a lot of guys like you anymore. Oh, that did like, act, you know. You didn't paint a house in the Dominican Republic for two weeks.
Missionary
Well, we did. We were in. Last summer. We were in Dominic.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Yeah.
David Brody
After you did your time.
Missionary
Yeah, yeah. No, I loved it over there.
David Brody
Of course you did. Because you're called.
Missionary
Yeah. So we were working among the Fulani and you did.
David Brody
You did, man.
Ben Burkhorn
You.
David Brody
You've written no book.
Ben Burkhorn
Well, yes, he's written a book on your.
Patriot Mobile Representative
On this.
Ben Burkhorn
Not on this part.
David Brody
Why not?
Chris Tomlin
Just.
Ben Burkhorn
Why not?
David Brody
Just do. Just do this. Do like a 20 episode podcast where you tell all your stories and then just have it transcribed and made into the.
Ben Burkhorn
That's how I wrote my good transcribe.
David Brody
You can't leave.
Missionary
I drove across the street. You can't go to heaven.
David Brody
You can't take all these stories with you to heaven. Please do that.
Patriot Mobile Representative
We'll see.
Missionary
We'll see. I'm working on.
David Brody
I know you're humble, but people need to read the stories.
Missionary
Yeah, it was a funny story.
David Brody
People don't go to those places anymore.
Missionary
Yeah, there's something over there. I'll tell you. I got some missionary friends that were over there.
David Brody
They're there now.
Missionary
Yeah, well, I don't know about Burkina Faso or Niger.
Frank Gaffney
Right.
Missionary
Those places, they're closed. Yeah, they've been kind of crazy.
David Brody
You worked up on the Fulani? I've never heard of that.
Missionary
Yeah, yeah, I learned the. I worked two years on the language and then I came back and went to Dallas Seminary for two years. Studied Hebrew because they didn't have an Old Testament, so was going to do that, so we went back.
David Brody
You were going to make them. You had such a burden for him. You were going to make them an Old Testament Wliffe.
Missionary
Bible translation. Yes, I went through that. Did three.
David Brody
What a guy.
Missionary
No, it's just.
David Brody
No, come on, lose the humility.
Chris Tomlin
You've done.
David Brody
You're a great guy.
Missionary
Step by step.
David Brody
And your son's doing great.
Missionary
He's doing well. God. God's good.
David Brody
God is good.
Missionary
And his wife has been. And his mother's been good, too.
David Brody
His wife's great.
Ben Burkhorn
She.
David Brody
Again, I want to. I want theater. I leave the trash overflowing one night, and the cops have to come over.
Ben Burkhorn
I'm going to show you a picture. I know they can't see it on the air. Just so you see, my wife's. Their family were refugees from Laos, and they came across 30 years ago or 40 years ago now. But this is.
Patriot Mobile Representative
So we have three girls.
Ben Burkhorn
Chloe, Olivia, and Lily. And sorry about the scratches on the screen.
David Brody
You should see my phone.
Ben Burkhorn
But it is. It's like, just, you know, God's hand in all of it.
David Brody
That is powerful.
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah. What's a crazy story? She wasn't a Christian when I met her. My dad always said, don't be unequally yoked. And I met this girl. First thought I had was how beautiful our kids would be. I was 19 at the time, and I thought, boy, that's a weird thought to have about this. Our first date was camping. We went to Pismo beach, drove across there. And I'm driving, I'm thinking, I'm gonna marry this girl. First date. I just got to figure out how to convince her. And back in my mind is, yeah, but you can't be unequally yoked. But I'm like, I see more light shining out of her than I see in. In most Christians.
David Brody
Yeah.
Ben Burkhorn
So she didn't know the Lord, but the Lord knew her, and I knew God's had his hand on her.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Yes.
Ben Burkhorn
So anyways, it's been. It's been awesome.
David Brody
You can work on the Christian part. You can't work on the happy part. It's better to get somebody that's happy and lead them to Christ. If you meet somebody that's met Christ and they're still miserable, what can you do?
Ben Burkhorn
What hope do you have?
David Brody
So that's. Where are you based out of now? Arkansas.
Ben Burkhorn
Arkansas. Now.
David Brody
Where are you based out of?
Missionary
Columbus, California.
Ben Burkhorn
I'm.
Missionary
I'm a farmer.
David Brody
What a great family.
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah.
David Brody
You're not a farmer.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Farming soul.
Missionary
I do.
Ben Burkhorn
I do. Like, we're working on, actually, so I do the show lawn border. We're working on a family road trip, show across America. We homeschool the girls now. Wife's amazing.
David Brody
We were going to homeschool my wife. Wife's from Puerto Rico. But after two years, my daughter just knew how to do fighting and hotwire a car, so we had to yank her out and put her in school. Hey, hey, hey.
Ben Burkhorn
I told my wife when we first did this. I said, I don't care what you teach them, as long as they're not being taught in public schools. You start with a prayer and a pledge. You can teach them anything else. So that would have been fine. I wouldn't even care. I would not have cared, but. So we're working on that, though. That's the next.
Missionary
I don't know about the story. Stealing cars.
David Brody
That's wrong. That's a sin in anybody's book. Lutheran, even. That's from the plot. So that's where you get your boldness. Your dad was.
Ben Burkhorn
Oh, yeah. Yeah.
David Brody
A lunatic for Christ. Going out in the closed countries.
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah.
David Brody
A real missionary.
Ben Burkhorn
No doubt. No doubt.
Missionary
That's all I wanted to be.
Ben Burkhorn
That was the foundation.
David Brody
You were. You did it.
Missionary
Yeah, I'm still. We. Yeah, we just took. Yeah, we take a. We've taken teams to Thailand. I'm on a. With an organization called Frontier Laborers for Christ.
Chris Tomlin
And we.
David Brody
Thailand's starting to open up a little bit.
Missionary
Thailand's open pretty much. But not Burma. Myanmar.
David Brody
No.
Missionary
Or Laos. We're in that.
David Brody
I know about that. From Rambo 4.
Missionary
Okay.
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah.
Missionary
Yeah.
Ben Burkhorn
My wife's from Laos. So that Escape communism to get here. Yeah, all of that.
David Brody
And they're killing the. The Karen Christian Christians there.
Missionary
I know about that. Yeah. Burning villages and stuff. But we got what's called the Barefoot Doctors. They're not barefoot and they're not doctors, but other than that, the name's perfect.
David Brody
Sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen. You're neither thing you claim.
Missionary
They're great, though. They're actually from Burma. From most of them. From remote villages up in the mountains where they have no medical training or anything. So they come to Chiang Mai, Thailand, for two months. For three years of January, February, for. For three years. January, February, January, February, January, February. And we do a year of Bible training or not a week of Bible training during that for them as well.
Ben Burkhorn
Feels like a year.
Missionary
Yeah, no, it's. They're really open and very respectful and they're great to work with. So I was over there in February
David Brody
and March of this year.
Missionary
Yeah.
David Brody
You're still going a little bit.
Missionary
When I get rid of the diarrhea. As soon as that's gone, I'm all right. I'm ready to go.
David Brody
Tell me about it. It's one of the worst things there is. You're not gonna get this. You're not gonna hear diarrhea on tbn, folks. That's right.
Ben Burkhorn
It's authentic. That's what people want. They Want authentic, real. Yeah, yeah, that's enough.
David Brody
Thanks for coming on.
Ben Burkhorn
It's an absolute honor.
David Brody
Whether you want me to or not, I'm going to stay in touch with you. I really like you and your family. You've done a great work for the Lord.
Ben Burkhorn
It's just the beginning.
Missionary
I got a grandson that's God's really working with him.
Ben Burkhorn
Shout out to hunter.
Missionary
Hunter. Shout out. 19.
David Brody
Awesome.
Missionary
Yeah.
David Brody
What kind of vein does he feel called in?
Missionary
He wants to be a marine biologist.
David Brody
So I've been taking George Costanza.
Missionary
Yeah, well, but you know know he's doing a. He's working at a church this summer with a youth pastor and so we'll see what happens. God's got his hand on Hunter, so
David Brody
of course he'll bless your whole family. Well, thanks for coming on. I'm glad I got to meet you. Thanks for letting me call you up. I wanted to hear about a real missionary.
Missionary
A real missionary.
Ben Burkhorn
God bless you guys. What a beautiful day. And we send it out in Jesus name.
David Brody
Yes, God bless you. Well, I hope you enjoyed that as much as I did. Did. I'm going to get. Who else do we have for guests? Matt Crouch can't.
Chris Tomlin
Come on.
David Brody
What's he watching? Making another unwatchable movie. Who else can we have for a guest? Wow, they cleared the field.
Michelle Backus
Yeah, it's done.
David Brody
All the cops are here. That's why I think security. They're not letting anybody stay.
David
No, they'll clear it out.
David Brody
All the pastors have left. I mean the sun hasn't even come down. It's like being at Sunny Acres is assisted living facility. It's cleared out and it's still bright out. 10 past 7. We're taking you to 8, maybe 7:30.
Michelle Backus
You got 20 minutes left.
David
Anya.
David Brody
For sure I do. Is there another Red Bull?
Patriot Mobile Representative
Can I get it?
Michelle Backus
I'll take it.
David Brody
Can I get it in a syringe and then just jam it into my heart?
Patriot Mobile Representative
Wait a minute.
David Brody
Wait a minute. You want on? Good.
Michelle Backus
Come on over Is your mic.
David Brody
What did Rob Sig say? Please save the pretty channel that one.
David
Let's try it out.
David Brody
You got one for you.
David
That's right.
Michelle Backus
Thank you. I appreciate it.
David Brody
There's more. Grab one.
Michelle Backus
Yes.
David Brody
Have two.
Michelle Backus
Feels wrong.
David Brody
You want another one?
Michelle Backus
I'm good.
David Brody
What do you host on Real America's Voice? Fox News. What do you do on Fox News? I know we're not. We're not supposed to cross promote but I'm curious. Yeah. What's your. What got you into political commentary?
Michelle Backus
I have an elementary. We're on. Yeah, yeah, yeah, That's.
David Brody
That one.
Michelle Backus
Like a little. Wow.
Patriot Mobile Representative
You could do it.
Michelle Backus
I know. No idea. Yeah.
David Brody
That's how unprofessional we are. People can't even tell.
Michelle Backus
Oh, my goodness. This is wonderful. Well, it's great to be with everyone. So I have a political consulting business, and I started out with local politicians and. Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Yes.
David Brody
That's where we're from.
Michelle Backus
Where at? Get out.
David Brody
I live in Wexford. We have a church at Pittsburgh.
Michelle Backus
No. So I'm from Monroeville.
David Brody
Oh, I know, I know. 376.
Chris Tomlin
Yeah.
Michelle Backus
Yeah. So I. One of my clients, if you know Westmoreland County, Nicole Ziccarelli, she's the first female district attorney.
David Brody
Yes. She's great.
Michelle Backus
Yeah, she's wonderful.
David Brody
You helped with that.
Michelle Backus
I ran her comms. Yep.
David Brody
That's a big deal to win in Pittsburgh. It's as blue as it gets.
Michelle Backus
Yeah. Oh, my goodness. Yeah. Well, that went to.
David Brody
How did you win? Oh, Westmoreland.
Michelle Backus
Yeah.
David Brody
But still not easy to win.
Michelle Backus
No, no. So she. That year. What was that, 2021. It was a clean sweep. So all four Republicans were able to get in.
David Brody
How did you lose your Pittsburgh accent? Parents are from Sweden or something.
Michelle Backus
So you don't think I have an accent?
David Brody
You don't.
Michelle Backus
Oh, thank goodness. Because I've had people say I do before.
David Brody
Maybe you used to.
Michelle Backus
Okay, you guys don't have Pittsburgh accents.
David Brody
Their parents are from Puerto Rico and they grew up in Boston. I'm from Pittsburgh, but we moved away for a little while, maybe. Moving away.
Michelle Backus
You know what it is with the Pittsburgh accent? It's the way they say their O's. Like it's a no. They draw it out like that.
David Brody
You can spot it anywhere.
Michelle Backus
Yeah, Yeah.
David Brody
I grew up in Bridgeville, so that's cool. You're from Monroeville.
Michelle Backus
Oh, my goodness, what a small world.
David Brody
So then how did Fox News open up after that?
Michelle Backus
Well, I was on the campaign trail. I was working with the pac. I was working with Real America's Voice, doing some consulting for other politicians. And now just. I'll go on Fox News typically, like once a week, week to talk about commentary. I'll go on Newsmax.
David Brody
It really depends if you had to put money down. Obviously, we don't promote gambling, but if you were going to put money down, how would you bet on Kalshee on the house for the midterms if you had to slap five grand down?
Michelle Backus
Right now, I want to be very optimistic.
David Brody
Right, but you also want to make money. So Right now, things can change if you're just going straight up on wanting to make a good bet.
Michelle Backus
Well, you know what? Actually, I, I will say because of the redistricting efforts right now, we could come out, Republicans could keep the House with the House.
David Brody
Senate's a lost cause, right?
Michelle Backus
Depends.
David Brody
There's a, there's an. What percentage chance Republicans take the Senate, in your opinion?
Michelle Backus
See, I, I think it's circumstantial on a few things. The number one thing being Iran. Right. Because you look at what about what,
David Brody
like if you were running, running, everybody's campaigner had like a ton of control in the country. What would you want to see done in Iran that would benefit the Republicans in the midterm?
Michelle Backus
I think it would just be wrapping it up and getting prices low. Obviously, this is a long term game for President Obama.
David Brody
Gas prices matter.
Michelle Backus
Gas prices matter. At the end of the day, you have to consider middle America, right? They're not looking at the headlines every day. They're not looking at the intricacies of foreign policy and how this is going to benefit us 10 years down the road. They're going to the grocery store, they're going to the gas station, they're seeing the gas. I mean, even me the other day, $4.50, I was like, what?
David Brody
Where are you based now?
Michelle Backus
West Palm Beach.
David Brody
Oh, we're at this.
Michelle Backus
Yeah. Yeah.
David Brody
Yes.
Michelle Backus
Yeah. So I think that's the big issue. At the end of the day, a majority of Americans aren't looking at the intricate foreign policy of all this. They're just going to go grocery stores, food and gas, and they're seeing the gas prices and that's unfortunately a problem. You know, at the end of the day, the economy is always going to be the number one issue.
David Brody
Least favorite cabinet pick by President Trump.
Michelle Backus
Oh, my gosh. I'm biased because I'm a massive animal lover.
David Brody
Everybody's biased.
Michelle Backus
So Kristi Noem.
David Brody
Yes.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Oh, yeah.
David Brody
But she's gone.
Michelle Backus
I know. That was a little shocking.
David Brody
She just posted a reel on Instagram today of her shooting a dog from like point blank range.
Michelle Backus
Have you seen, have you seen the south park episode?
David Brody
Maybe? I'm a pastor. I've heard about it.
David
He's watching.
David Brody
I definitely didn't watch it three times in a row. Okay, so now that gnome's gone, who's your least favorite cabinet?
Michelle Backus
That's a good question. You're really putting me in the hotspot here. Who else am I not a massive fan of? Zeldin has been somewhat anti climatic.
Missionary
Yeah.
David Brody
Because he could have done more damage. Who's your favorite pick?
Michelle Backus
Well, that's. I love Marco Rubio.
Ben Burkhorn
Me, too.
Michelle Backus
I think he's phenomenal. You know, RFK has been doing a lot of great things. However, we need to get this animal testing thing under control. And also the Save Our Bacon act in the farm bill, but.
David Brody
Which is.
Michelle Backus
Save Our Bacon Act. What is that? So basically, obviously, factory farming is massive. That's where we get a majority of our food. And the way that they house the pigs is extremely inhumane. Amongst a ton of other things they do with factory farming. I'm a terrible Republican. I give the PETA. I'm so big in animal rights, but. So they put them in these.
David Brody
Yeah, but at least you're open about it, as opposed to people that pretend they're for it, and then behind closed doors, they don't care.
Michelle Backus
Right, exactly. Exactly. So they put them in these very small gestation crates, and it's cruelty. It's torture. And pigs are, I believe, what, the seventh most intelligent animal. They mimic a lot of characteristics of dogs.
David Brody
Right. I've heard you can have some for pets.
Michelle Backus
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it's pretty cruel if we allow that to pass.
David Brody
Sure. You know, tell me about the. I'm not gonna put words in your mouth, but I was glad to see Pam Bondi go. And then the new guy.
Michelle Backus
I forgot about Pam Body.
David Brody
Yeah. She did nothing.
Michelle Backus
So you guys. You guys were happy about that?
David Brody
I don't know about her. I was.
Michelle Backus
You know, she didn't do anything. I mean, what. What was it that. But you didn't like her from before?
David Brody
I had a lawyer friend of mine in Florida say, don't get excited about Pam Bondi coming in.
David
Interesting.
David Brody
Because she's gonna do nothing.
Michelle Backus
Right.
David Brody
And then I just said, why? Because she had worked, you know, she just said, she's gonna be like. She's gonna sound like she's gonna come in contact, guns blazing, and nothing's going to get done. And that's what happened between the passing out the fake Epstein file stuff. You know, it's like. Like there should be a lot of people in jail, obviously. I realize a thousand people that work in government aren't gonna all get zip tied and thrown in prison, but one or two would be nice, you know, and you had the power to do it. And when you watch how the Democrats came after Trump
David
incessantly.
David Brody
Yeah. To literally destroy his life. I'm not looking for people's lives to get destroyed, but people that committed crimes should go to prison and she did nothing. I like the new guy. He's done more in, what, 40 days than she did in the year and a half she was there. So I like him. How do you feel about Attorney General?
Michelle Backus
Well, I will say this about Pam Bondi. If I was one of those influencers. You guys remember when she handed out those binders? Right. And everyone comes out and it's a big media moment, every shaking self. If I was one of those influencers. Actually, a couple of them are my friends. Dr. Stovic was one of them. I would be livid. I would be so mad because that's. That's so embarrassing. She was.
David Brody
Yeah. But weren't you taking a look at it before you came out and got used for a photo op?
Michelle Backus
Me? Probably not, because I probably would have trusted her. You know, she's. That's an honest answer every single day, you know, saying that she's gonna hold these people accountable and she's gonna get all of them and then nothing. So maybe I'm too naive in that sense. I would have believed. I would have been like, all right.
David Brody
Especially. Yeah, and I guess you got to cut the influencer some slack because it was early in the administration.
Michelle Backus
It looked like it was early. Yeah.
David Brody
You could trust them.
Michelle Backus
Yeah. And it was still a time in which you could get away with all talk. Right. It was still early enough that, like, action didn't matter. So she was in a good position for a moment. Until she wasn't.
David Brody
Who's up for reelection? That's running the worst campaign, in your opinion right now? Like, from somebody that helped somebody get elected in a high office in Westmoreland County. You thought, what are they doing?
Michelle Backus
I am not familiar with Westmoreland county or Allegheny County.
David Brody
No, I'm saying you helped the attorney general. I'm talking about, like, representative. I'm talking a national election. When you watch their campaign for the House or the Senate, that they're up for reelection and you're thinking, like, who's running their campaign? They're doing terrible.
Michelle Backus
You know, it's interesting. I'm really closely following the Thomas Massey stuff in Kentucky, which.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Which got.
David Brody
Which got hot over the weekend.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Oh, yeah.
Michelle Backus
Oh, it's going to get hotter, too. It's going to get.
David Brody
Oh, there's more stuff that's going to come.
Michelle Backus
Are you guys on Twitter?
David Brody
I am.
Michelle Backus
Do you see the divide?
David Brody
Yes.
David
Wild.
David Brody
And he's. He's trailing now by, like, seven points. Right.
Michelle Backus
Depending on the poll. You see, he is really loved in his district, to be fair, fully transparent. But I Mean, big money talks. We saw what happened in, what was it, Indiana, where anyone that went against Trump's redistricting efforts lost.
David Brody
Yes.
Michelle Backus
Yeah.
David Brody
Trump's endorsement matters a lot of places, huh?
Michelle Backus
You know, people still think that it doesn't, but it does. It does. Indiana was a good indication of that.
David Brody
Wow, that's a good point. Yeah. Massey. I didn't think anything was going to happen to him. Now it looks like he's, he's hurting. That stuff doesn't go away when it's not a good time to have women saying you, like, use them and stuff like that when you're running for reelection.
Michelle Backus
But you know what's so funny? Every single candidate has an opportunity. Oppo file. Right. An opposition file. That's what happens when you're in politics. So whoever your rival is, you pay a lot of money and they dig up dirt and even the most random things. So you know, where you lived in 2014, who you dated, you know, they might call someone, what properties you owned. It's interesting that they waited so long to release this. Or maybe they were just aggressively digging and couldn't get anything tangible until this point. If it is, I, you know, know that's very interesting. Politics is cutthroat.
David
It sure is cutthroat.
Michelle Backus
That way out there. You know, I, I will say this. I, I see the women in politics get it the worst. More so than any other industry, anything. It's, it's like in politics, you know, there's, there's no rules, there's no guidelines. You can say whatever to them. I mean, even when I was running Nicole's campaign, somebody wrote her the nastiest letter and told her that you, she needs to stick to baking cupcakes and stay in the kitchen instead of running for district attorney.
David
Is that you?
David Brody
It was not me.
Michelle Backus
Oh, no.
David Brody
Oh, no, no. I was a supporter. It is interesting. I've always thought it was odd how, like, especially with Democrats, because they're like, they all write stuff like that to people and they're the ones that are like most against saying that stuff to women. But then if it's a Republican woman, game on. You can light them on fire.
Michelle Backus
Oh, the biggest, the biggest hypocrites. Always. You should see some of my DMs if I post something spicy, right? It's always middle aged women and their bios are always things like live, laugh, love, or be kind to everyone.
David Brody
It's all a front.
David
Yeah.
Michelle Backus
And they're calling me the most vile names they can think of. I remember one Time I had to go on Urban Dictionary and look up what she called me because I didn't even know what she. I didn't even know what it meant. What does this even mean? You're way more sophisticated than me.
David Brody
So you said there's more stuff that's going to come out about Massey. Obviously you don't get sued for defamation, so you're not going to break it. But like, what else do you know that other people don't know?
Michelle Backus
I. Oh, that's. That's spicy. See, I actually don't, I don't know too much about Massie. I don't have his oppo file, but everyone has an opposition file. So maybe at this point they're just trying to pepper it in and get what they can. It's interesting.
David Brody
Have you heard about any other trouble coming down the pike for anybody?
Michelle Backus
I think there's trouble with a lot of campaigns. Campaigns. We'll see. With Lauren Bobart, she just came out and said that she. Again going back to that Trump endorsement. Right. She just came out and said that she supports Thomas Massie and she also supports President Trump and that's not going over well. So we'll see what happens if she actually does get primaried or anything like that.
David Brody
So it's not a safe bet. But Republicans should take the House.
Michelle Backus
I think with the redistricting efforts, we can.
David Brody
And Scott Bessant, who has been, he might be my favorite, him and whoever we brought up earlier, I like the Treasury Secretary, but he said, and he hasn't been wrong once since Trump got in, that gas prices will be back to normal no later than September, which makes sense that they would make sure.
Michelle Backus
Yeah, get in, get out.
David Brody
And there's ways to manipulate it. Even if Iran's to going not all cleared up exactly like the federal tax and all that. But then the Senate, the Senate is a long shot.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Right?
Michelle Backus
We'll see. We'll see. I'd like to, I'd like to be optimistic, you guys. I'm going to be optimistic. Yeah.
David Brody
So what do you have going on in the future? Like what's your next big project or thing you're working on?
Michelle Backus
That is a good point. So I work with Citizens Alliance. It's a pac. The CEO Cliff Maloney is an official, amazing person. If you guys don't know him, look him up. He ironically ran the phase in Pennsylvania in 2024. So it's a ballot chasing initiative. So every Republican that requested a ballot but didn't turn it back in, he recruits people to go out and chase down those ballots actually got Trump over the finish line in 2024. Obviously, there were tens of thousands of people who did that. Right. Low propensity voters, Republicans that just didn't, you know, didn't think to return their ballot. So we're working ahead of midterms. We're going to be in some pretty big states, so we're gearing up for all of that right now. Citizens alliance, by the way, I don't. Which camera are we on? You guys would think I'm a professional.
David
One right there.
Michelle Backus
Camera one. Citizens Alliance. You guys should check it out, because they're doing amazing things. Ironically, Cliff and Charlie. Charlie Kirk were really, really great friends. And he. He really wants to honor Charlie. Charlie's the one who told him, you need to go into Pennsylvania 2024 and nail that down for President Trump, which is what he was able to do again. Now we're looking at midterms and seeing if we can ensure we build that red wall.
David
Amazing.
David Brody
Way to go.
Patriot Mobile Representative
Yeah.
Ben Burkhorn
Way to go.
Michelle Backus
And you know what I love so much about Citizens Alliance? My last little spiel. Typically, I'm a big fan, obviously, but the money that people donate, you can actually see where it's going. So you see, okay, we are running an Airbnb in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. For this amount of door knockers, they're going to be working this amount of time. That's where your money's going. As opposed to, you know, many nonprofits these days that want your money. We don't know where it's going. It's. It's going to help. Don't worry. That's amazing. Yeah. So it's a really wonderful. Do they report that online? How does that even work? Yeah, so everything's reported, everything's tracked. We have a ton of employees that will ramp up hiring and paying. Yeah, yeah. So we are getting really excited for midterms.
David Brody
That's awesome. Thanks for. What was your interest in being here?
Michelle Backus
I love Real America's Voice, and they asked me to come out, and I love God, and this is a wonderful event, and we're honoring 250 years in the best country in the world. Amen. Can't argue that.
David Brody
Did you go to church when you lived in Pittsburgh?
Michelle Backus
I went to Cornerstone.
David Brody
Really? Yeah. Yeah, I know that church.
Michelle Backus
Okay, so I have a confession to make. My favorite church that I haven't been able to replicate since is a church in Miami called VU Church. V O U S Rich Wilkerson. Yes. Phenomenal.
David Brody
His dad's friends with my family.
Michelle Backus
Really yes. Okay. Okay. It's amazing.
David Brody
Is Cornerstone Gary Mitrick or not? No. You know, I can't remember who the pastor was. Was it in Cornerstone? Might have been Gary. Mitch.
Michelle Backus
Okay.
David Brody
No. Vu's great.
Michelle Backus
Vu's phenomenal. And it's a lot of younger people.
David Brody
Yes.
Michelle Backus
Very young.
David Brody
And you're not going to find it replicated because he's one of a kind. He built a one of a kind church.
Michelle Backus
Yeah, it's. It's massive to the extent you have to get there about an hour early to get a seat. It's so cr. And it's Miami. You know, think of Miami. It's partying. I. I don't know. I think of, like, sinful things in Miami.
David Brody
He made a real impact.
Michelle Backus
Huge.
David Brody
Every and is making.
David
The real wife is so anointed.
Michelle Backus
She's so good. They're wonderful. They're such good role models in Miami. Which, to be fair. Have you guys spent a lot of time in Miami?
David Brody
I've spent enough to know exactly what you're talking about.
Michelle Backus
It's hard. Yeah. There can be some questionable people out there that I think other people might accidentally look up to. Right? Yep. But they're good role models. They're great. They're doing good things down there.
David Brody
That's awesome. I'm glad I got to meet you. Tell everybody about about that organization. If they want to find it. Where can they go?
Michelle Backus
Yes. Go to Citizens alliance doorswinmores.com Please donate if you want to get involved, Obviously, we would love to have you. We're doing some big things for the midterms. It's going to be wonderful. And we need every single vote possible.
David Brody
That's awesome.
Michelle Backus
All right, guys, thanks so much. Thanks for coming on.
David Brody
Do you have the Toronto testimony? Let me know when it's ready. But before we close, as we rededicate the. As we dedicate the nation to God, we've prayed for the nation. Now we want to pray for you. If you're watching on Real America's Voice and you'd like prayer, you can put your request in the comments or you can text 75767. Text PRAYER to 75767. Text prayer to 75767. I'm going to give you some time to do that. And I want to show you this testimony just came in from Canada. This was a lady that had a completely incurable disease that the pain threshold is so high that doctors nickname it the suicide disease because people kill themselves because they can't take the pain anymore. So if you are watching right now in prison, hospice, hospital, in your house, and you are going through a rough time. This whole dedication to God is based on the fact that we serve a real God. And the Bible says that God gave you an invitation. If you call on me, I will answer you and show you great and mighty things that you know not. God will help you wherever you're at right now. And you may have never called out to him before, but we're here to help you with that text. Prayer to 75767 or let us know what you're believing God for in the comments. If you're watching on our YouTube channel, you can do that there too. How much time till the testimony is ready? Two minutes. I'm going to pray for you right now. So put your request in there and then lift your hands where you're at and we're going to pray. There's nothing that's happening in your life that God can't take care of right now. Let's pray. Father, I thank you for every person watching. I thank you for your word that says if my people that are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, pray and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and I will revive or heal their land. And by healing the land you meant.

Real America's music is proud to introduce a new artist joining the roster. Rachel Holt. Bringing a sound that blends traditional country roots with a modern edge, Rachel represents a new voice built on authenticity, experience, and a clear sense of identity in her music.
David
I like to sing real America's country music. We're trying to get the origins of country music back and pretty much not be able to afraid to put God and religion back into country music and make songs with meaning. Nowadays, people are afraid to put that in their music, but we're trying to get it back to that.
Radio Host
Raised in Indiana and surrounded by music from an early age, her path into country didn't start in a studio. It started long before that, shaped by family, church, and the sounds that defined her upbringing.
David
Growing up, I went to an old Baptist church and at those churches they have, you know, a whole band up there doing bluegrass music. And that's kind of where I grew up on. My whole family does bluegrass music, but I would get up there and sing when I was little in church with my whole family up there and we'd do like I'll fly away, you know, the basic songs, but I kind of just got into singing through church, actually.
Radio Host
Those early influences continue to shape the way she approaches songwriting today, focusing on real stories and honest perspective. Now stepping into her new release, Rachel continues to define her sound with music that reflects where she's been and where she's headed. Her latest single, like the sun delivers an upbeat, feel good energy built for summer and marks the start of this next chapter. You can get it now by scanning the QR code on your screen or searching Rachel Holt on itunes. Don't miss the chance to get to know Rachel Holt as she begins her journey with real America's music.

All right, thanks so much for joining us. It is such a wonderful day. I'm so excited. I'm not even in my seat yet. But it's a different scene behind us right now because it's cleared out on the National Mall.
Ben Burkhorn
And huge shout out to Jonathan, Jonathan Shuttlesworth, their entire team. What an incredible day. We had a little bit of technical issues right there, but just what an awesome guy. You look at what happened today. I don't know if you guys got to do any of that when I was talking to Jonathan, but I got to go out there and finish the day with worship with Chris Tomlin. And, man, you talk about what America needs right now. Worship to the Lord. You cast your cares on him. All of the misery and emptiness and loneliness and uncertainty and lack of purpose that we see all over this country, it's like, man, I just pray that this spreads. But I really love what Lance Wall now says and Jacob Boinkins. They both said it. Neither of them heard it, but they said revival isn't what America needs. It's reformation. We need a reformation of this nation. Revival's great. We need a revival, but we really need a reformation, a resetting, a restoring back to the foundation the roots of this nation. Restoring the foundation of this nation. And so that, you know, it's a subtle difference, but it's a major difference. When you talk about how we fix the nation.
Frank Gaffney
Yeah. Benjamin Franklin and George Washington believed in this morality and that it was something that the religious populace should embrace going forward as a nation. And it's fractured. I mean, look at our coverage in Minnesota and People who are being misled, being exploited by that watermelon. Green on the outside for Islam, red right in the middle for progressive leftist Marxism. But we're broken and we're fractured and the attention spans and the parents and the liberal professors and the whole toxic cocktail, it has to be reformed, right?
Michelle Backus
It is a cocktail. It's a toxic cocktail.
Missionary
Yeah.
Ben Burkhorn
And you think about it, because if you look outside, this is why it's all biblical to me. Because if you step back and actually look even just logically, not even biblically at it, it just, just doesn't make sense. When you have, we were talking about it earlier when you have the, the Gays for Palestine. Well, you really, you know, it's a stupid meme, but it's like the, the chickens for kfc. You know, it's the, all of this. You have these people that are coming together that don't even realize what they're doing. You have women feminists marching around with hijabs on to support Islam, which means subjugation, not even realizing and saying that Christianity, humanity is oppressive. Not even realizing the idiocy of how they look and what they're saying. But again, it goes back to what you said. It's like, you know, for me it's biblical. They have scales over the eyes. They can't see it. We see it clear as day. They can't see it.
Frank Gaffney
But it's also the part time kefia mafia where you have these rich NYU girls who grew up in McMansions in New Jersey going out and protesting ice in the streets of New York. Not Hispanics.
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah.
Frank Gaffney
You know, white girls. Yeah.
Ben Burkhorn
White liberals.
Michelle Backus
Right. It's always for the and not for we. Right. You know, it's so funny, I living in Palm Beach, I, I speak to a lot of trust fund kids, to be quite frank. And some of these girls are liberals. And it's because none of the policies that affect everyday Americans are ever going to affect them. Right. They fly private, they have homes everywhere, they have full staffs, they're in gated communities.
Frank Gaffney
Where do I sign up for that?
Michelle Backus
David? You and me.
Frank Gaffney
Okay.
David Brody
All right.
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah. You have to have been born a Rockefeller and then, you know, the generational wealth coming.
Frank Gaffney
Well, no, not New York City because Mamdani wants to tax you from 16% wealth tax to 60% wealth tax for intergenerational money.
Ben Burkhorn
I love it.
Michelle Backus
So you're going to laugh because I actually one of those girls was complaining because in her trust she was able to get a house in New York City. She voted For Mom, Donnie.
Frank Gaffney
Oh, now she's free.
Michelle Backus
House is about to be taxed and she's mad about it. But the issue is, it's uneducation as well.
Frank Gaffney
They're victims of their own demise. Like I was talking to you about being outside the White House about five weeks ago for the National Socialist Movement with the local Washington Socialists for Liberation, in combination with the Black alliance for Peace and all of these other, you know, acronyms. But they're holding up signs of Khomeini in Iran not realizing that the MEK with the socialists and the Mujahideen, the People's Mujahideen of Iran, were the ones who overthrew the Shah to get their freedom, even though they were socialist and Marxist oriented and the mullahs hijacked their movement and they're socialists and they're out in the street defending the Ayatollah Khomeini.
Ben Burkhorn
David, fax our. They're inconvenient sometimes. And, you know, if it doesn't fit the agenda, that's what this all comes back to. All of these people, they don't actually care as long as it advances their agenda. And we have to remember that when we go out there and try. I have a lot of people say, why are you wasting your time out there? When I go out into these crowds, and it's true to an extent, you know, there's certain people, it's just an absolute waste of your time to argue with because they don't actually believe in what they're saying. All they care about is the end result, the outcome.
Frank Gaffney
I think long term you have an effect, and we have an effect long term.
Ben Burkhorn
Partly it's true. The other side is, I believe we're planting seeds because there are people that show up to these things thinking that they're legitimate. And then if you can be there and show them how ridiculous it is, it's like they walk away all the time. I have this, and you can see, it's like the wheels start turning in their minds through their eyes, like, whoa, okay, maybe I'm not being told the truth.
Michelle Backus
Well, a lot of it is. Well, as this moral superiority complex, right? This virtue signaling that we see so, so often in which Republicans are bad. I get this all the time. Republicans are racist. Republicans are homophobic. Okay, tell me why they can't. They never can. And I hate to pick on my own. My own people here, but I see it a lot with girls my age.
Frank Gaffney
But there's a lot of people who are in the middle that are swinging towards that independent side, right, which the unaffiliated vote brought Trump over the, the top of North Carolina. It was 36% in 24 election. Now it's 39% in North Carolina. Keeps growing. It was only, you know, so anyway, you know, I've seen individual examples in my lifetime, you know, not that I was equipped like Charlie Kirk was at times, but I've converted people, right. And I've seen them change over the years because. And then maybe they started a business and realized that socialism.
David Brody
Yeah, yeah.
Ben Burkhorn
And yeah. You become wealthy and you realize, oh, maybe I don't want to spend 70% of my income to the government to give to people. Lazy people sitting on their butts.
Frank Gaffney
Top 10% pay 70% of the nation's taxes. The bottom half pay 4%. The top 10% pay, you know, like a big number.
Ben Burkhorn
And this started for me in college, when I actually out of college in my undergrad, going in my grad school, I met a guy named John named Justin Tizo who was a liberal. He was from Philly. We were working at Wells Fargo at the time. Every day we'd come in and battle, you know, argue about these things. He said he was a liberal, I said I was a conservative. We went back and forth. Six months into this, he came in, big smile on his face. Ben, I gotta tell you something. He said, I've been thinking I was a liberal this entire time we've been arguing about these issues. And last night I realized I'm a conservative. And that changed his life. I've seen it personally multiple times over. So don't give up on people. Not all of them.
Frank Gaffney
And Michelle, we're going to get back to you in a moment. We have to go to a break. You're watching Real America's Voice news from the Freedom250 rededication. An amazing day. Best weather day this year.
Ben Burkhorn
Beautiful day.
Frank Gaffney
We'll be right back.

What a wonderful day in Washington D.C. i'm so blessed to be with Michelle Backus and Ben Burkhorn. We had Neil McCabe on the ground here and this great RAV crew and the production crew. We've been out here for about 12 hours. They're the troopers behind the camera. So a big shout out to you guys. And a big shout out to Rob Sig and Parker and everybody. It's just been an amazing day. Best weather day in D.C. michelle.
Ben Burkhorn
Right.
Michelle Backus
David, it would have been so much more genuine if you would have just stopped it at. I'm so blessed to be with Michelle back in. You don't have to name everyone else.
David
Else.
Michelle Backus
Yeah, just blessed to be.
Frank Gaffney
I didn't want to show favoritism, but.
Michelle Backus
No, it's really been a wonderful day. Amazing people from all over the country coming out. Ben Berkwan was in the crowd talking to a lot of them. I mean, you were talking to people from Idaho, Washington, everywhere, Pennsylvania. I saw Pittsburgh represented quite often. As you guys know, I'm a massive Pittsburgh fan, so that was wonderful to see. But, you know, every single seat, it seemed, was packed behind me at the National Mall, even much so that it overflowed behind us, which you can't see on camera. Obviously now it's a very different situation, but we've been talking about it a lot. There's a revival going on, and we're seeing this. Well, with younger generations. You know, we've all pinpointed why we think that is, why church attendance is going up. I also think that humans are just craving that connection that we've been missing over the years. And a lot of people are lost.
Frank Gaffney
Yeah, for sure. And Ben, you know, most of this country identifies as Christian, were founded on Judeo Christian principles. But this event wasn't just for that. Right. This event talks about, basically, I think. And my takeaway, in a way, is that it's fragile things.
Missionary
Right.
Frank Gaffney
And everybody who came out here today are the people who don't ask for anything. We're not going to the government. We're not complaining about
David Brody
free money.
Frank Gaffney
It's the opposite.
Missionary
Right, Ben?
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah. And, you know, it's interesting what's happening right now. So Tommy Robinson just had a big event yesterday in England, you know, going against radical Islam and really just fundamental Islam. And you look at this, the fights that we're seeing all around the globe right now, and it's all good versus evil at the end of it. Just had a terror attack in Italy. Muslim drove his car and then stabbed people, stabbed people afterwards. So this is everything we see going on right now is good versus evil. And today was about that saying, lord, we want you back. We want your light, we want your truth back in our nation. Because America is. If America falls, the world falls. And America for so long has been that shining city on a hill. Reagan and so many Others have talked about that. The world looks to us and you see it falling down in so many areas. You know, Minneapolis, you saw it maybe the worst city in America, so many of these places.
Frank Gaffney
And you warned me of that before
Ben Burkhorn
we went out there. You have to experience sometimes, but it is, it's so dark. You come to an event like this, it's like, all right, there is still hope. And this is what it's about. It's about God's people coming.
Frank Gaffney
I'd rather be on this side of the fence any day because these people were just off today and the program and the speakers and everything. But we want to get to an interview we did with the former Assistant Secretary of Defense, Frank Gaffney, who has a show, Securing America every Morning on Real America's Voice News.
David Brody
Check it out
Frank Gaffney
at Freedom250 Rededicate. I'm here with the lovely Michelle Backus and a longtime friend, former assistant secretary of Defense. You're the president of the Institute for America's Future and you're the host of Securing America every morning right here, Real America's Voice News, the incredible Frank Gaffney. Also, the Sharia Free pledge, right?
Absolutely. We are working here in this space to defeat what I consider to be the greatest threat to the dedication of our country as a Christian nation under God, indivisible. Because adherence to Sharia, which as you know, is not a religion, it is the sort of genetic code of Islam, but it is fundamentally a political, military, legal, totalitarian, toxic and demonic death cult. And it is not protected by the First Amendment of the United States. And if we get that right, we're going to get the rest of it right. If we get it wrong, we will lose the country to those who wish to divide us and put us under their God, Allah, which is demonic, unfortunately.
Michelle Backus
Elaborate a little bit more how that is not protected under First Amendment if
Frank Gaffney
it's not a religion. I mean, think of it this way. If I don't know the Crips and Bloods will come to say to us, our religious practice is to sacrifice children or to stone women or beat them or mutilate their genitals or, you know, to have children married and raped at nine. And that's our religious practice. Do you think anybody seriously would say, oh, okay, under the First Amendment, we're going to protect the Crips and the Bloods? I don't think so. And we can't be protecting people who practice all of that because it emulates the so called perfect man Muhammad. And if we do, the End state they have in mind couldn't be more clear. And that's the end of our country.
Frank, let me ask you a question. You know, as you know, I lost somebody very close to me due to Islamic terror at 9 11. My whole family's been affected. You know, New York, you know, 77,000 people are dead so far between all the mesothelioma and the cleanup and the day's events in 9 11. So nobody's more sensitive about the Islamic threat. But 20 to 30% voted for Donald Trump of the Muslim population. They're only about 1% of the American population. You got great people like Zudi Jasser, you know, running, who saved 11,000 lives on the operating table as a Muslim in the US Military. And you've got, you know, a lot of people in this country and you have a lot of Muslims who died alongside US Troops. So how do you parse out? Because I know it's a. It's not just a lifestyle or religious choice. It's a political document regulating every facet of their lives. And I'm not trying to run on here, but how do you get them to become more, say, secular? Because you're not allowed to be secular if you're Islamic. You know, you could be. You're supposed to be killed. Right. How did, how do we capture that Muslim presence in America to move away from Sharia law and accepting and assimilating into American lifestyle without Sharia law?
It's such a critical question. I'm glad you framed it so brilliantly, Zudi Jasper, by the way, is an old friend of mine. Yeah, I admire him greatly. I think he'd be the first to tell you that he falls into the category of Muslims who don't want to live under Sharia, don't want to push it on anybody else, certainly don't want to engage in terrorism for the purposes of conquering our country.
Vice President Kamala Harris
Right.
Frank Gaffney
To the contrary, he explicitly rejects all of that. The trouble is that the authorities of the program, Al Azhar University, for example, all these Imamsi scholars and so on, they will tell you such Muslims have a name. They're called apostates.
Right.
And if you want to do one single thing to try to change the whole calculus, you got to say you can't kill apostates, not in America.
But that has to come internally from the.
Well, no, it has to be Muslim clerics, a law that we enforce.
Okay?
And if those clerics, clerics don't want to go with us on it, they need to be booted out of the country. Interesting.
Okay.
And this is a critical thing. And as I say, we are in the process. I've spent a lot of time in Texas. 1.9 million Texans on the 3rd of March voted for the following five word proposition 10. Texas should prohibit Sharia law.
Sure.
That needs to be made the light motif. And that's what our pledge. Sharia, Sharia Free pledge. We're asking every candidate, for every office in every state in this country to take the pledge, which basically says, I will do everything in my power to make sure that Sharia is not imposed on the American people and my citizens. Yeah, that's critical. And if we can do that, I think we change the trajectory of where these guys are trying to take us.
Michelle Backus
How prominent do you think it is right now in the United States?
Frank Gaffney
It is frog boiling. It is very widespread. You're right. There's only 1.5 or so percent of the population. But what they are doing, and this is the playbook, is frog boiling. They are. Yes. They're bringing them in under the hijra. That's emulating the perfect man migrating from Mecca to Medina. But they're also building infrastructure that they can use for the purposes of domination and long before they become a majority. And you can particularly appreciate this, David, because you're following politics so closely. They know that they block vote and they can be kingmakers in close elections. And there will be lots of them in this country. They may not get a Muslim who adheres to Sharia elected.
David Brody
They may.
Frank Gaffney
But they may get people who are aligned with them and willing to do that.
Yeah. When you open a mosque up, it's like a claim of land. It's not just like a mission everywhere.
It's a permanent thing. And by the way, the perfect man used mosques as arsenals and weapons, training facilities and planning for Jihad, everybody.
Frank Gaffney, former Assistant Secretary of Defense under Ronald Reagan. I used to watch you on c span like 45 years ago. I think you're wonderful.
I've improved a lot.
You're great. You're so knowledgeable on China and Sharia law and foreign policy. And now you have the Sharia Free pledge. Where can can people get.
Chris Tomlin
Ben.
Frank Gaffney
Sharia.com.
Missionary
all right.
Frank Gaffney
One stop shopping and host us.
We need your help during America. Unreal. America's voice every morning. And check it out. And everybody, Frank Gaffney, thank you so much. Phenomenal day. Wouldn't want to be in and out of the place. Ben, give me your final thoughts about today. What your biggest takeaway.
Ben Burkhorn
Beautiful day. Look, this is what America needs. I, I thank God that I was here to witness it. And I just pray for the unknown outcome, the fruit that is coming out of what happened today. And I'm honored to be a part of a network to be here to cover it.
Michelle Backus
Michelle, it was an honor being with you guys and obviously being with Real America's Voice. If you were lost, if you're wondering what missing piece is inside of you, go to church, find Jesus. It truly is a revival that's going on here. And I hope you take this and are able to do something with it as well.
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah.
Frank Gaffney
And I think a lot of people were here for that. Right. Because everyone takes a different thing away, a different moment away in time. It's why people gravitate to Real America's Voice, you know, because, you know, we get to speak our mind based on our own experiences and nobody holds us back from that.
Missionary
Right.
Ben Burkhorn
Yeah, it is. Thank you to Rob Sig. Thank you to Parker Sig. Thank you to everyone out there that's part of the production team.
Frank Gaffney
And with that, everybody, good night. Thank you for watching Real America's Voice
