Ahead on American Sunrise, the ceasefire with Iran on life support. This morning, President Trump with an update on where things stand. Right now, the question is, will there be a deal or is this about to fall apart? Plus, commie Mamdani it again as Zohran, the mayor pushes new taxes in New York City on what state is now making a play for big Apple businesses? And could a corporate exodus be next? Why are you smiling, Zoran? And later, Senator Cory Booker unloads on President Trump, claiming he's damaging America's image around the world. Well, that's rich coming from Cory Booker. But after years of chaos under Democrats, do voters still believe that argument? Well, those stories and more as American Sunrise starts on a Tuesday in May right now. Good morning, America.
A

The American dream is still alive.
B
I'm David Brody.
C
I'm terrence.
A
And I'm Dr. Gina. Good morning, everybody. Happy Tuesday. I'm Dr. Gina. We are live with you from the Palm Beaches. Let's bring in David Brody. He's out in Washington, D.C. terrence Bates is in our Denver newsroom. Good morning, gentlemen.
B
Good morning, Jim.
C
Good morning, you guys.
A
I'll tell you what. We've all had so much going on. We don't get to be all together as often as I'd like. It's nice to. Nice to see these faces on either side of me this morning.
B
Yes. So happy.
C
Right? Yes. Bravo. Bravo. It was nice to have you guys for us. Hey, look, guys, I'm sorry.
B
Bravo for us.
C
Bravo for us. There you go. So, look, you guys sent this video this morning, and I've been chuckling all morning long. President Trump polling the crowd at the White House yesterday, asking about both J.D. vance and Marco Rubio for president. He said together would actually make a dream team. Here's how it all played out, though.
B
Who's.
D
Who's it going to be? Is it going to be J.D. is it going to be somebody else? I don't know. Who. Does anybody have? Okay, let's go. You ready? Who likes J.D. vance?
B
Who likes Marco Rubio?
D
All right, sounds like a good ticket, J.D. it's a perfect. That was a perfect ticket, by the way. I do believe that's a dream team, but these are minor details. That does not mean you have my Endorsement under any circumstance.
C
It's always fun to look forward to 20, 28. Guys, I'm sorry. As I watched the video and I've watched it several times Now, I think J.D. vance got a bit of the larger applause. It was, you know, close, But I think J.D. vance got the larger applause there. What do you think?
A
Well, it depends on who's in the room. Right?
B
Right.
A
Yeah. But I have to say, I love that President Trump does. He'll do this here when he's home and he'll just stop dinner and everybody. He wants a poll all of a sudden wants to know what everybody thinks. It's one of my favorite things about him is the way that he does seem to care about what the American people think. He's always asking those kinds of questions. I think that's important. I don't think we can know who our president is now. If you look back at history at this point, point in time, when we were looking at people, we had no idea. However, so much has changed with the Trump administration, David, that, you know, it almost does seem like if he wants to nominate somebody, the money's going to get behind him. The establishment will get behind him. The new establishment, I guess you'd call them. And he could, I guess, do a kind of an anointing there, if you will. David.
B
Yes. He's such a showman. Right? I mean, come on, let's do this poll now.
A
Whenever there's a new president who's not this entertaining. Keep going. Sorry.
B
Yeah. I will say this, you know, funny. He says it could be a great ticket. Okay, sure. That's true. Here's the follow up question. Who's leading that ticket, by the way? Which of course it wouldn't be J.D. vance. I mean, in other words, J.D. vance wouldn't be vice president yet again. You don't want to be a bridesmaid twice. So I'm assuming that means Vance and Rubio, in that order. Having said that, Rubio has said he is not going to run if J.D. vance runs. Okay, can we justare the cameras still rolling? Okay. Yeah, right, gotcha. Marco, if President Trump tells you, hey, I think you should run, I guarantee you Rubio is going to run. And my sense of it is, and you guys know I've said this, and I'll say it again, I said it six months ago before everybody started talking about Rubio. You can check the tape. I believe that Marco Rubio is not only going to run, I think President Trump's going to endorse him. I truly believe that. I think that's what's gonna happen. Put this tape down. What's this? Today, May 12, 2026. I truly believe that's gonna happen. If it doesn't happen, then I never said it and never mind.
A
Well, life is ironic, I'll tell you, because I remember months of trying to talk my husband out of Marco Rubio to please come over and support Donald Trump. That was my hardest challenge. He loved Rubio when Trump was running, and Trump gave him merciless grief about his support for Marco Rubio for the longest time. So it's really kind of funny just to see this thing go. What I never thought I'd see is Donald Trump standing there talking up Marco Rubio. Did you. Little Marco. I mean, no. Yeah. No. All right, we should get.
C
That was on nobody's bingo card.
B
Yeah, little Marco. He went from little Marco to pretty impressive.
A
All right, But America first, that crowd, they're going to have their own candidate for sure as well. That's going to be an interesting, interesting run. All right, Today's Bible verse goes like this. Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all of you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. It's nice to think about. And I try to think about this one at night when I can't go to sleep. I love this when you can't go to sleep. This is God's promise for that bedtime, that insomnia that some of us get right, Terence. All right, President Trump says the cease fire with Iran is currently on life support. Take a look.
D
It's unbelievably weak, I would say. I would call it the weakest right now after reading that piece of garbage they sent us. I didn't even finish reading it. They said, I'm not going to waste my time reading it. I would say it's one of the weakest right now. It's on life support. They understand. These are all medical people. Dr. Oz, life support is not a good thing. Do you agree? Diagnostic? I would say the ceasefire is on massive life support, where the doctor walks in and says, sir, your loved one has approximately a 1% chance of living.
A
All right, let's bring in Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn. Senator, you know, a lot to take in here. A lot, a lot going on. I just want you to open how you want to open, kind of what your thoughts are on this entire situation.
E
What we have to realize is Donald Trump has said from the get go that Iran can never have a nuclear weapon. And he said, we're going to take out their navy, we're going to take out their capacity for missiles. And that is what he has done. Now let's see how they're going to turn this uranium over so that they will never have a nuclear weapon. And that is something we should do for our children and our Middle east and indeed the whole world is going to be safer to make certain that Iran never has the ability to again sponsor and support all of these terrorist proxy organizations, whether it's Hamas, the Houthis, Hezbollah or any of the other splinter groups that are there creat turmoil around the globe. So President Trump is dedicated to this mission. He is supportive of the men and women who are carrying out this mission. And just as always, he delivers on the promises he makes. I think you will see him deliver on this. They will get the straight open and Iran will turn over their enriched uranium.
B
Well, we can only hope so. I think it's pretty funny that President Putin over in Russia says, we'll hold onto the enriched uranium if you want. It's like, oh, that's hilarious. Yeah, that's really good stuff. Like he's a stand up comedian. Now, Senator Blackburn, let me talk to you about this letter that you have put out calling for the Secret Service to basically clean up their act. You have new practices for vetting and hiring. Of course, the alleged shooter at the White House Correspondent center pled not guilty. So talk to us a little bit about this letter that you put out.
E
Yes, indeed. After this latest assassination attempt, I felt it was important to just set the more or less to establish this premise that there is rot in in the Secret Service. And when you look at a bureaucracy that has become insular in some ways, it's important to begin to root this out and to say, okay, there is a mission that to be accomplished here. And indeed, those that responded to the attack did a phenomenal job, an absolutely phenomenal job. But David, you have to look at the organization and say, how did it get to the point that you are missing some components about keeping the protectees safe? How could you have people that were casing the area? You look at the video footage and you see the young man casing this area and you realize this, this criminal is walking through here and no one stopped, no one was in charge of securing that space long before the event began and the attendees began to arrive.
C
Senator Blackburn, I'd like to switch gears a little bit and talk about protecting our children. You really have been at the forefront of that effort. You've pushed lots of legislation, want to bring your Attention to this headline about the Senate Judiciary Committee. The headline reads, from the courtroom to Congress, why landmark Social media verdicts demand federal action to protect kids online. There's a subcommittee hearing tomorrow on this issue. I believe you're going to be part of that hearing, is that correct?
E
Yes, I am indeed going to be there and helping lead that hearing. You know, it is imperative that we realize that social media platforms have proven they cannot police themselves. They cannot seem to get their act together. The reason is they look at our children as the product when they are online. Indeed, Meta has assigned a dollar value to the amount of time that a child spends online, and they have a dollar value per child per year. That is disgusting. We need to put in place rules and regulations so that there is one set of rules for the entire ecosystem so that parents know when their children are online, they are not going to be tracked by perpetrators and predators and pedophiles and groomers, that they're not going to meet drug dealers and sex traffickers when they're in the virtual space. So having that standard of care, that duty of care is an imperative. And we've seen this brought forward from the two different juries, two different states, New Mexico and California, two different trials. And every industrial sector in this country has safety standards except the virtual space. And there it is, the Wild west, and our children are being harmed.
A
Well, Senator Marsha Blackburn, we always appreciate your time. Thank you for being with us.
E
Thank you.
C
Thanks so much, Senator.
B
Thank you.
F
Got it.
A

President Trump is set to leave for China today. He'll meet with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, with trade issues and the war in Iran being among the major issues the two leaders will discuss discuss. Leading up to this week's high stakes talk, Secretary of State Marco Rubio along with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant have

up Excuse me calls for China to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz. It's in the Communist country's interest to do so as China is the world's biggest buyer of Iranian oil. The US Commander in Chief's trip to Beijing marks the first visit by a US president in nearly a decade. Meantime, 47's trip across the Pacific comes as the California mayor is facing federal charges for acting as an illegal agent of China. Monday, the Justice Department charged Arcadia Mayor Eileen Wong, who immediately resigned her position. The Justice Department says she also has agreed to plead guilty in a related case that carries a maximum of 10 years in prison. In its statement announcing the charges, the DOJ writing by her own admission, Eileen Wang secretly served the interests of the Chinese government. Wang's plea agreement says the 58 year old did China's bidding between 2020 and 2022. She worked with the US based individuals in order to run purported news websites to promote Chinese propaganda here in the United States. One of her co conspirators is currently serving a four year presidency sentence for similar charges. President Trump says he'll move to suspend the federal gas tax in order to help Americans deal with the current sky high gas prices. However, in order for the president to suspend the gas tax, Congress would have to approve that move. The Trump idea should have bipartisan support as lawmakers on both sides of the political aisle have previously supported the idea, saying that it would actually provide much needed relief for Americans who rely on their cars to go to work and to get daily routines done. A reprieve would be especially helpful coming into the summer vacation months, the average prices for a gallon of gas hovering around $4.50. Right now we actually were paying just under $3 a gallon right before the war with Iran started. The current federal gas tax is 18.4 cents on gas and 24.4 cents on on diesel. That tax provides $23 billion in revenue for the federal highway and public transit program. That's a quick check of your headlines. Now let's get a quick check of your forecast. Weather Nation meteorologist Adrian Hernandez Standing by with what you can expect as you head out. Adrian, good morning to you.
J
Good morning, Terrence. Yeah, we got a few, few little spots to watch, especially down to the Sunshine State. This was a video from yesterday, Terrence, out in South Carolina where the winds were absolutely whipping. I think one of the biggest concerns for me in this video is just how this chair is not even moving. Notice how the winds are whipping. That thing has to be just bolted down to the ground. That's one strong chair. Out in the South Carolina, we have a severe weather outlook for today across portions of the Midwest. Down in the Central Plains, even another one down into Florida that's a little bit more concerning as we actually will have a small risk, it's only 2% but, but a potential for an isolated spin up tornado from Daytona beach down through Orlando, Melbourne, I mean, all the way down into West Palm beach, hugging that i95 corridor. Elsewhere, a little bit further north, we'll have fire weather concerns to deal with. Red flag warnings across the Dakotas and out towards Nebraska. Not the only spot dealing with fire though actually down into the Sunshine State dealing with several fires is the 172 Avenue fire out in Dade county. Out in Florida. And this was a look on Sunday, the Pembroke Pilot Pines Fire, the Broward, Pembroke Pikes PD showing us the Broward county fire. This is the Max Road fire that burned over 11,000 acres. We're containment. We're still working on it. Definitely getting better. And with more rainfall in the forecast for the Sunshine State, things are going to be looking a lot better. High temperatures today, Terence, I hate to tell you. You got a high temperature. 80 actually. Why do I hate to tell you? You like this? 82 is good for you.
B
This is a good thing.
J
It's hot by Denver standards. Actually quite warm for Denver standards, but I forgot I'm talking to you, the guy who hates anything cold, Right.
C
Anything below about 65 and I'm selling on that. So I'm very happy I woke up and I think I may have skipped out of the house this morning. Adrian, good to see you, my friend. We'll check in with you next hour to get our hometown forecast.
J
All right, you got it.
C
All right. Thanks so much, Adrian. Up next here on American Sunrise, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth met with South Korea's defense minister amid ongoing threats from North Korea. So where does this critical alliance stand for now? We've got the very latest ahead.
B
Foreign. That is Pete Hegseth, the Department of War secretary. Department of War testifying this morning at A House Budget Committee hearing. House Appropriations Committee let's listen to for a little bit.
K
Dollar budget request put forward by the President will build upon the historic 1 trillion dollar FY26 top line and will continue to reverse the four years of underinvestment and mismanagement of the Biden administration. The $1.5 trillion budget will ensure the United States continues to maintain the world's most powerful and capable military as we grapple with a complex threat environment across multiple theaters. Not to mention, the budget also includes a historic troop pay increase, building on the pay increases this committee has given. And the budget eliminates all poor or failing barracks. Quality of life for our troops is front and center in this budget. By supercharging our industrial capacity and transforming how the department does business, we are restoring American commercial dominance at a pace unseen in generations, transforming the defense industrial base from the broken, slow moving systems of the past. We have flipped the Pentagon acquisition process from a bureaucratic model to a business model, decisively moving from an acquisition environment paralyzed by bureaucratic red tape into an outcomes driven organization focused on delivering the most for taxpayer dollars. And Mr. Chairman, you're right. It's a war of attrition against the Pentagon.
C
All right.
B
That is Pete Hegseth at a House Appropriations Committee hearing this morning live here on American Sunrise. Let's bring in RAV correspondent, the host of Breaking Point, which you can see on the weekends here on rad. That would be David Zier who of course is at the Pentagon for us often. David, we've got the Secretary of the Secretary of War basically trying to convince Congress and others that $1.5 trillion budget request, which would be double what it was previously. So this is a hefty request by the White House and with that would come some cuts in domestic spending because the military budget would be so high. Your thoughts this morning? Good morning.
L
Good morning, David. Yes, and it's a huge number, but it also includes in there increased pay for on a sliding scale, enlisted and officers in the US Military, but especially housing across the country. I remember growing up visiting some bases and I saw poverty. So there's no reason why our troops are on food stamps or other ever or in, you know, conditions that aren't at the highest standard. So that's a big part of it. And there's a lot of increased spending for other things in there, autonomous vehicles, UAVs, unmanned aerial vehicles. I will be in Indiana, Camp Atterbury tomorrow for a drone demonstration. It's the largest drone testing facility in the United States. Big focus on that. It's a different complex environment out there. We're operating on a wartime footing in accordance with Trump's executive orders from last year, at least four of them, which were codified in the ndaa. Very important to adapt to the changing threat environment out there. Dave.
C
And to your point, David, that one and a half trillion dollars, a good bulk of that is going towards building ships, or at least the Ask would go towards building ships and that sort of thing. And this really, you talked about us being on a wartime footing. It's really ramping up our posture and our ability to respond to hotspots around the country. And that's a big part of this ask, is it not?
L
It is. And pertaining to the Trump battleships that will be built, Bath Ironworks in Maine kicking out DDG guided missile destroyers, as we've seen, have been the most effective in the Strait of Hormuz. It's really important. We also are ramping up. We're tripling the capacity of our PAC3 missile system production. Those are the intermediate height missiles between the Patriots and the Thaads. You know, thads are 12 million a pop. Pac 3 is a 4 million a pop. Patriots are, you know, a little less. But these are expensive systems. Again, there is a changing threat environment out there. I think that Trump has been trying to get cooperation from private industry and cooperation with the military and academia as well to get stuff at speed and scale delivered to our troops. And Hegseth always talks about the bureaucracy in the Pentagon. It's a big number, there's no doubt about it. But as we see, the world is changing.
A
It is certainly. Dave. David. Texas Governor Greg Abbott rolling out a big old Texas style welcome mat for New York businesses after New York City Mayor Mamdani, I like to call him, call me Mom. Donnie singled out billionaire investor Ken Griffin in a social media video pushing higher taxes on the wealthy. Abbott says Texas offers lower taxes, fewer restrictions in a business friendly climate, as some Wall street firms consider expanding out of New York. It's okay, you know, if they want to put more New Yorkers in Texas, I'm kind of for that because it sort of changes the demographic a little bit when they land here in Florida. But New York is bad and people are leaving, so. Because it's getting worse. And so I wanted your take on all of that.
C
Yeah.
L
And Ken Griffin saying he's going to expand his offices in Miami and New York for the first time in a long time doesn't have a deputy mayor for economic development. There is a deputy Mayor for economic justice. New York City has the highest state corporate taxes and highest individual taxes in the nation. There's an exodus going on. Five thousand businesses left New York City City last year alone. 891 major corporations. New York City lost 20,000 jobs in 2025. And 72% of 500 employers surveyed say in New York that the economic conditions aren't good. He wants to raise the corporate income tax from 7.25 to 11 and a half. And remember, the state income taxes cap out at like 11 or so. He wants to raise corporate tax rates on the financial sector from 9 to 10.8%. And he wants to raise it for non financial related companies. And then he wants to take the wealth tax, intergenerational wealth in New York City from 16 to 60% and the most egregious, you know, tax increase. Also, is anyone making an additional 2% tax on anyone making a million dollars per year or more? They have some serious issues ahead of them. It's only going to get worse. But it's by design because Mamdani is definitely a socialist.
B
Yeah, a smiling socialist, which makes him even more dangerous.
A
And hasn't he only been a citizen for like 7 years or something? This might be a clue, America, about letting people that have not been citizens for very long run for public office. Right?
C
Yeah.
B
David Zier.
M
Yeah.
L
And.
B
Yeah, go ahead. No, please finish.
L
I was just gonna say corporate internships are down 37%. So college grad unemployment in New York City is very, very high. So it is a changing environment there. And how are they going to sustain? Their budget is bigger than Florida's and they're a third of the population. So they got to fix it. It's a long sour decline, as Michael Goodwin from the New York Post says.
B
The one and only David Zier. Great to have you, my friend.
A
Thanks for being.
L
Thank you, everybody. Yes. Good morning.
B
All right, coming up, a deadly Hannah virus outbreak and new questions about containment. Health officials say the risk is low. We laugh because they are world health officials. But should Americans be concerned? We have the facts. Next on American Sunrise.
A
This is live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I love Pittsburgh. There's something so fun to me about the city nestled in all those mountains and how you can be in the city one minute and then the next minute you're like deep in mountain world. I love that so much. I also love how they put big banners of their troops who fought and died for our country all over all of their little towns that dot the countryside there in Pennsylvania. Welcome back to American sunrise. I'm Dr. Gino. Thank you for joining us. Time now for today's health news. It is sponsored by the Wellness Company. And under the microscope today, that virus that you're hearing a lot about on the news, they finally woke up and realized that, yeah, something was happening. This deadly hantavirus outbreak linked to to the cruise ship. It has left three passengers dead with at least six lab confirmed cases, according to the World Health Organization. Health officials say the two evacuated passengers, which were a French woman and an American, also tested positive. Though the WHO says the Americans lab results were inconclusive. So lots of mixed information. But you know what, we don't believe anything they say anyway because we saw what they said during COVID So with that, let's bring in chief of disaster and emergency medicine for the wellness company, Dr. Kelly Victory. Dr. Victory, the media is in overdrive reporting on this cruise ship infected with hantavirus over the first week. Look, I don't trust anything that anybody who is called an official says. I really don't. I go straight to talked to all of my trusted doctors, advisors. A lot of them aren't doctors, which I also think is a really important part of this because I think Rockefeller medicine screwed up doctors like Rockefeller medicine screwed up people in psychology like me. I realized I got out of college, knew almost nothing and I needed to actually unlearn most of what they told me during my degree. Getting to actually be able to help people in a real sense. And I think it's the same for doctors. But with this hantavirus, you know, I guess my concern is over and over again the answer I want is did they do gain of function? Is gain of function part of this? Because if it is, Dr. Victory, if there's a possibility that gain of function is a thing with this hantavirus, then we're talking about a whole different thing. And it really doesn't matter what the World Health Organization is telling us about what is happening on a cruise ship right now.
N
Well, all good points, Gina, and thanks for having me. Let me unpack this a little bit. Hantavirus is a very real virus. It is not a respiratory virus like Covid. It is carried largely by the feces, urine and saliva of infected rodents. Although it can have a relatively high mortality rate, it is very, very uncommon. Since we started surveillance on hantavirus in the United states back in 1993, there have been less than 900 reported cases in the US that comes out to less than 30 cases per year. So although a lot of people do things like sweep out musty cabins and attics and garages where there may be rodent droppings. The cases. The incidence of hantavirus is very, very low. Furthermore, it has virtually zero spread from human to human. Although we are told that the Andes strain can spread human to human, it has not been proven. Now let's go to what happened on this ship. It is very, very likely that the persons who got infected on the ship were in fact because of contact with infected rodent feces or other bodily fluids. So it is, although again that we have some story about people going bird watching at a dump and possibly bringing the virus back with them to the ship. That's not likely what happened. And as a result, what the WHO has done defies all logic. The worst thing they could have done was to quarantine those people for all those days on the ship in their cabins, rebreathing that recirculated air that likely had contamination from rodent product. So that was the worst thing they could have done. Furthermore, I'm with you. I don't trust much of what they said. After the debacle of COVID this idea of quote, asymptomatic spread and other people who are now quote, weakly testing positive and the faulty PCR tests once again being employed, all of these things smacked me of overdramatization, fear mongering and taking advantage of something to cause fear. We're already seeing those same photo ops with people in hazmat suits, very dark and somber. And then you pan over and there's somebody, the cameraman isn't wearing any protective gear at all. So it looks a little bit more like theater to me in many ways. With regard to whether or not there's gain of function studies or manipulations going on, it's simply too early to tell at this juncture. There's no reason to believe that this is acting any way other than it would act normally in nature. On the other hand, should we start to see rapid person to person, human to human transmission of that, then yes, I will start saying I smell a rat because something isn't right there. This right now, we have a handful of cases, we have every reason to believe this is a naturally occurring virus. But when you start looking at, as I said, the over dramatization, the nonstop news coverage of this, the idea of, you know, they've already marched out people like Dr. Deborah Birx, the scarf lady who played such a pivotal forward facing role during COVID and you start hearing things like asymptomatic spread and the need to Quarantine healthy people, locking people in their cabins unnecessarily. Keep, you know, it's when I say keep very, very much an open eye to this because we, we've seen this happen before and I wouldn't be surprised if they tried it again. Fortunately, on the last thing I will say is there are ways to treat hantavirus infection, particularly if done early. We have every reason to believe, although no huge studies have been done on it, that simple. Repurposed medications like the ones we used during COVID hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin, those are medications that target single stranded MRNA viruses. That's what Covid was and that's what hantavirus is. So we have every reason to believe that those same medications can may be highly effective in treating hantavirus if used early.
A
Okay. The gain of function part really bothers me. The other thing that bothers me about this Dr. Victory, honestly is that there is a vaccine in development. I hear the word vaccine literally, my mind just goes nuts. I have ptsd and I think we do collectively. I'll tell you something though. They are going to play hell. Government is going to play hell if they think they are going to get the people who woke up during COVID to wear their stupid masks and to do their stupid quarantines and all the things. So that's why the things you're saying about just how to stay healthy, how to prevent it, Is there a preventative, something we should be doing just in case they have been playing with gain and function and just in case they've developed a vaccine that will really just help spread it. Which I think is. Is precisely what the vaccine during COVID did.
N
Well, you're right. And it's not just one vaccine. There are actually 13 vaccines for hantavirus in the pipeline. So think about that. It makes you wonder if they knew that this was coming with regard to what to do for prevention. That's one of the reasons we suggest that people should have a medical kit that contains some prescription medications, some prescription antivirals like hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin, plus steroids, including inhaled steroids, that help you to treat a number, a very broad range of potential respiratory infections.
A
Okay, I don't want to interrupt you, but we're almost out of time. Which kit is that that we should have?
N
Well, the contagion kit, the black one that has actually inhaled steroids, or the blue, that one right there, the blue kit that has medications like Ivermectin included with it you have on hand just in case you are right or your suspicions turn out to be true, that there's been some shenanigans going on here, that they've manipulated this and it's really their intention to spread this, this infection wider than it is at this juncture. As I said, there's no reason to think that that's happening. It is appears to be acting like a native virus would. But keep your eyes open and be prepared. It's what I call, you know, it's cautious preparation, rational readiness.
A
Yeah, exactly. Be cautious, don't be compliant. And maybe pray for the cruise industry because I don't know how they're going to do this year. Dr. Kelly, victory, thanks for being with us.
N
Thanks, Gina.
A

As we look off to the midterms, we're going to tell you all about it next right here at American Sunrise.
F
Welcome back to American Sunrise. It's time to stay awake, not woke. And today we are discussing New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, who slammed President Trump's handling of the Iran war and said Trump is an embarrassment on the world stage. Take a look.
H
So remember, the Strait of Hormuz was not closed at the beginning of this conflict. This conflict has been a massive disaster and Donald Trump himself is an embarrassment on the world stage. I hear it from allies all around the world. He has got us into a trap and we're effectively in a stalemate with Iran and the people that are paying the price is American military, hundreds injured, 14 lives lost. And the American people collectively were spending billions of dollars more in the price spikes that we've seen as a result of this. This president has no way out. This is going to go on for months and that pain is going to continue to be felt by people he promised to lower prices for and keep us out of foreign entanglements.
F
Let's now bring in Dr. Gina, David and Terrence for more here. I but, Terrence, want to get your thoughts on this first. To call this an embarrassment on the world stage is just so frustrating for me to hear because especially during a time of war, all Americans should come together. I understand that he has criticisms, but come on.
C
Yeah, I mean, it's unfortunate that you make those sorts of comments, but are we really surprised? We're in this environment in which people are going to try to sound their political dog whistles, and that's exactly what Cory Booker is doing. But to his point that many of our allies aren't necessarily proponents of President Trump, there's probably something to be said for that, and it's because President Trump is holding them accountable, particularly our NATO allies. President Trump has been holding them accountable not only for their investments in their own security, but also for their investments in partnership with the United States. And let's just be honest, they have been failing in that respect and he's been holding them accountable and they're feeling some kind of way about it. It's not, notit's not necessarily the nicest thing to do, but I applaud President Trump for holding those allies accountable for them to do what they said they were going to do, David, and unfortunately they haven't. They have fallen quite short.
B
They have. And I want to welcome Emily to the show. Who has time traveled from the 1940s when you said, Emily, that we should all come together. Because you're right back with World War II and other times in our nation's history, we did come together. Unfortunately, we don't now. And that is truly sad. So you're right. Now that was Cory Booker. Right? Because if I just close my eyes and listen to the audio, that sounded like Tucker Carlson. That sounded like Marjorie Taylor Greene. That sounded like Megyn Kelly. That sounded like a lot of folks in the, quote, America first movement. I put, quote, because if you're going to put this is a strange bedfellow situation. And I'm not suggesting Tucker Carlson or MTG is Cory Booker, but when it comes to the war, Tucker and Megan and MTG and others are sounding very much like Cory Booker. I'm not saying they have the same motivation. I'm not saying they have the same public policy outlook, but I am saying that the same rhetoric is feeling Very similar.
A
Dr. G. Yeah, it's hard to know what you really see anymore, isn't it? I mean, I think when we look at the Ukraine situation, we're tired of it. Tucker did an amazing interview. I watched last night with his former communications director, meaning Zelensky. And so that was fascinating. And, you know, so that was input. And it wasn't necessarily anti Trump, anti war, anything. It just confirmed a lot of my worst suspicions about Zelensky. But, you know, so you look on the Internet and you can really get down a rabbit hole now and then, but, you know, you come back to reality and you realize there are a lot of good things happening. I know my husband is a huge fan of this war. I don't know how else to put it. He really thinks that for business and all the things that Trump is trying to accomplish, relationships internationally, et cetera, et cetera, it's a good thing. So, you know, but David, you make a really good point that we're going to see more of. There are a lot of people who feel strongly or are confused about this war and other things, and we're going to be hearing more and more about that as we progress into 2028 and people start looking at who's going to be the next president, what's going to happen next with this country. So you do make a great point, Emily. And, you know, listen, can I join you? In the 1940s, when we were just all united and everything was pure, I liked it.
F
I don't know, I thought it came from the 1980s. That's what my music taste usually says.
B
I think my music tastes of the 1940s, actually. So. But that's.
F
That is true time traveling all over the place. I'll go to the future and let you guys know what happens.
A
Okay.
B
All right, let us know.
F
All right, interesting conversation. Coming up, AI and faith collide. Can technology bring people closer to God, or is it pulling them further away from the truth? We dig into it next on American Sunrise.
O
From Real America's music artist Nguyen comes a powerful new anthem honoring the men and women who gave everything for this country. Every star, every stripe. in the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.
F
Welcome back to American Sunrise. It's time now for our moment of faith brought to us by Lee Greenwood and the God Bless the USA Bible in focus. Today, millions of Christians are turning to AI with their deepest spiritual struggles, from marriage and anxiety to faith and temptation. It is available free and non judgmental. But critics warn it may offer comfort without conviction, coping without repentance, and teach believers to outsource discernment to a machine. Let's now bring in the senior vice president of ministry operations for Hope for the Heart, Hailey Scully Haley, thank you so much for being with us this morning.
P
Thank you, Emily. Thank you. It's great to be here.
F
So what if the answers that people are already asking AI were actually rooted in Scripture?
P
That is exactly the question that we are hoping to lean into along with pray.com we know that people are asking their spiritual and emotional questions into AI because for the exact reasons that you stated, it's private, it's confidential. They can ask some of the hard things there. But we also know that a lot of AI chat forums are not biblically informed. They're not using scripture to generate or develop the responses that are happening there. So what we wanted to do is make sure that there is a safe, safe place for people to ask those questions. Studies say that one in two people around the globe have asked their emotional and counseling questions into AI. And through what we've done with pray.com people, pastors, ministry leaders, parents, can be confident that the answers that they're getting are rooted in scripture.
F
Absolutely. I think that is so important, especially, you know, AI isn't going anywhere. And in fact, it is, it is growing. And so we need to, we need to get ahead of this and, and know how to use it while we're walking with Jesus every day. Thank you so much for being with us and sharing more.
P
Absolutely. Thank you.
F
We'll be back with the second hour of American Sunrise in just two minutes. Stick around.
B
Coming up on the second hour of the Murray and Sunrise. President Trump says the cease fire agreement is on, quote, life support after rejecting a peace deal from the Islamist regime. Will full combat operations in the region start up again? We will have the very latest. Plus New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez continues to fuel rumors that she's eyeing a run for the White House in 2028. Now, she says her ambitions don't end there. Huh? We'll talk about what that could mean. And later, new polling data revealing a shocking gap between how different age cohorts of Americans feel about the economy and job prospects. We're going to talk about how this could shift the political landscape as we head into a tumultuous election year. I just like that I said the word cohort. Those stories and so much more as the second hour of American Sunrise starts right now. Good morning, America.
A
Welcome to American Sunrise. Whether it's culture, we have breaking news to share with you.
C
Politics.
B
President Trump is joining us live now from Florida.
C
We've got you covered.
B
This is what it looks like to be be a patriot.
C
We have to protect the American family.
A
The American dream is still alive.
B
I'm David Brody.
C
I'm terrence.
A
And I'm Dr. Gina.
B
Welcome back, everybody, to the second hour of American Sunrise. I'm David Brody coming to you from D.C. let's bring in Dr. G and Wes Palm and T. Bates in our Denver newsroom. Good morning to my two cohorts. You know, I love that word, cohorts. I decided to look it up in the last 15 seconds. Here's what it says. Members that share defining factors such as age, geographic location, et cetera. So here we are. We're all in the same geographic location. I don't know if we're all in the same age bracket, but we're close. So good morning, cohorts.
C
Okay, David Brody, I'm sorry, I'm calling hr. I don't feel comfortable being called a cohort.
A
Great. Great. Fantastic. Yeah, I'll be calling in on the other lines. Well, you know how we talk in our breaks now. And people that are watching on, I believe, YouTube and maybe a couple of other places, they don't get commercials. They just hear what we're talking about. And they said we were too tired. Bowser. Or too tired. That was just me. That was too tired. Bowser in the chat said that we were too quiet in the last break that we needed. We need to yak it up a little more. That's how he put it. I told him that's also the only time I have to, like, check news stories and make sure, you know.
C
Right.
A
Yeah. But I'm just letting you guys know, I'll stop checking. That's right. And also inviting all of you out there in TV land to hop in our chat with us because we actually have fun there. We talk about, we talk about food mostly.
B
Yeah, mostly.
C
I need to jump in the chat. It's, it's been one of those kind of slow, dreary mornings for me. I'm gonna, I'm gonna get it together, guys. I'm gonna get together. My apologize, my apologies to the church chat and to you, Gina and David. Let's get to some quick headlines here. President Trump set to leave for China today. He's going to be meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping. With trade issues in the war in Iran, of course, going to be one of the main things that they'll be talking about. Leading up to this week's high stakes talks. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Besant have stepped up calls for China to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz. It, by the way, is in the communist country's best interest to do so as China is the world's biggest buyer of Iranian oil. And 47's trip across the Pacific comes as the mayor of Arcadia, California faces federal charges for acting as an illegal agent of China. On Monday, the Justice department charged the 58 year old who immediately resigned from her position in its statement announcing the charges of the doj, writing by her own admission, Eileen Wang secretly served the interests of the Chinese government. And President Trump says he'll move to suspend the federal gas tax in order to help Americans deal with the current high gas prices that we're all having to pay. In order to get it done, though, Congress would have to approve the move. The move would also provide much needed relief for Americans who rely on their cars to go to work and, and for daily routines. Suspending the federal gas tax would actually take about 18% off the price of a gallon of gas. That, by the way, would specifically help coming into the summer vacation months that we're about to enter. That's a quick check of your headlines. Now let's get a quick check of your forecast. Weather Nation meteorologist Adrian Hernandez has a quick check of your hometown forecast. Adrian, good morning to you.
B
Good morning, Terrence.
J
Yeah, we got a few hometown forecasts to check in with. We're going to take you out to Branson, Missouri. This is from Veronica Wallen, 1716 from YouTube. We got some really warm temperatures ahead. It's going to be about 84 degrees for your high today, but then you're going to shoot up into the 90s for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Your next big chance for moisture likely going to be filling in on Monday. Now we're also Going to take you out to Ithaca. Out in New York, Genghis on getter sending this one in. We got real good chances for some moisture coming in through Wednesday and temperatures are going to kind of bounce all over the place. You got a high of 59 on Thursday and then you're going to shoot right back up to the upper 70s and then all the way up to 86 degrees by the time we get to Monday. All of these warm temperatures only going to be fueling that chance for showers and thunderstorms kind of scattered throughout your work week. Now, severe weather elsewhere, we are having two outlooks here. One marginal risk across places like the Midwest up to closer to the Great Lakes, and then another smaller one down into the Sunshine State. This one has got a little bit more cause for concern because we have a small tornado potential. A small tornado outlook for today extending from Daytona beach all the way through Orlando and down even to into West Palm beach along that I95 corridor. A little bit further north behind that system, that's going to bring in that marginal risk of severe weather to places like the Midwest. We got dry conditions and windy conditions. We'll also get fire weather concerns. Red flag warnings extended all the way through the Dakotas down into places like Minnesota. Also having some fire dealing with some fire concern down into Dade county as well. The 16072 Avenue fire. We've just been so bone dry down in the Sunshine State. And while we don't want to deal with severe weather down into Florida, we'll definitely take the moisture considering just how dry things have been, temperature wise. Again, going to be staying on the warmer side of things almost all across the lower 48. We got a high of 89 degrees out in Wichita and a high of 106 degrees out in Phoenix, which is really hot even by their standards. And Terence, you guys are going to get all the way up to 82 degrees for your high today. I know a lot of people in Denver may not be liking those warm temperatures, but since you're clapping, I don't even got to say anything else. I already know you're super stoked. Probably one of the only people in Denver who want an 82 degree high temperature. How dry it is. I. Terrence, I can't.
C
Yes. Ladies and gentlemen, Adrian Hernandez for the Emmy.
B
Yes.
C
Give him all the awards. He deserves it. I love that.
B
That's.
C
That's just right up my. As you can see, it puts a smile on my face, man. I, I like the warmer temperatures. I'll get outside and really Enjoy them. Adrian, good to see you, my friend. Appreciate it.
J
All right. Likewise.
C
All right, we'll talk soon. Let's get you over to David now. David, I'm, I'm happy now. I'm a happy camper. It's going to be warm here and you know, we got that dry warmth so it's not humid and muggy. Right up my alley. Yes.
B
Yeah, it's right up your alley. Standing ovation for the weather. I love it. Okay. Tv. All right. Full combat operations in Iran could soon resume. President Trump says the cease fire agreement is on, quote, life support. Here is the President,
D
after reading that piece of garbage they sent us. I didn't even finish reading it. They said, I'm not going to waste my time reading it. I would say it's one of the weakest right now. It's on life support. They understand. These are all medical people, Dr. Oz. Life support is not a good thing. Do you agree? Diagnostic? I would say the ceasefire is on massive life support. Where the doctor walks in and says, sir, your loved one has approximately a 1% chance of living.
B
Join us now. Good morning to you.
M
Good morning. Hello, cohorts. How are you?
B
Cohort, see you are.
C
I heard that.
M
During the break. I heard that.
B
Okay, what do you make of what's going on here? Are we. Is this thing going to resume?
M
Yeah, listen, Iran's never been serious. They never serious about negotiating with the United States. They've always had a game of rope, a dope and, and disinformation. The President gave them every chance to make a good deal while they were severely defeated already. And now he's got optionality. I think there are three options for the President he's considering. One is just declare the war over, walk away, leave the Strait of roost or economically strangled until Iran taps the horn and says we can't take it anymore. Our wells are blowing up, we can do it. So stay the course of where they are as options. Option one, Option two is to wait to after the Xi summit and launch some more military operations and this time hit them where it hurts. Potentially. Potentially in their oil industry, their small arms industry, their small boats. Which one menace they've had since we flattened everything else in the country. And then the third option is to simply increase the economic pressure. Go to Xi, go to Russia and say, hey, let's make a global deal. The three big boys and Iran will be the odd man out. You can make whatever deal you want with him after we do that. I think the President has all three on his table. I think there'll be a lot of rhetoric but not a lot of action after the Xi summit. I think the president wants to take the temperature of the Chinese president to see how much he's willing to help. If there isn't that sort of help there, I think more military action or a more severe economic stranglehold are likely options.
A
John, I want to turn to the Howard Lutnick testimony at the end of last week. Do you think we. I don't understand. First of all, with the most transparent administration, all full credit going to President Trump. I mean, he has been, he has put us behind closed doors in meetings that we never thought we'd be in. Right. It's a wonder we don't go into the skiffs. But this was behind closed doors. I thought that was weird. I know it wasn't President Trump's decision, but I'm just. It was behind closed doors and we've heard some different reasons for that. I wanted to get your take on that also. Do you think we will hear more about this? I've heard no talk of him leaving or anything, even of the sort, but there are some inconsistencies that I at least can't get out of my brain. I don't understand the reason for the mistruths. I was just wondering if you could speak to any of that. John.
M
Yeah, listen, I think the oversight Committee has been pretty consistent whether it was interviewing witnesses in the Hunter Biden, Joe Biden, Griffin scheme or people that they interviewed in the fraud schemes recently, the IRS whistleblowers. If you go back to more famous moment in the committee's history or currently with Epstein, doing these behind closed doors as a starting point is a norm for the committee. So we shouldn't read too much into it that it's part of a cover up because the committee basically has done all of its depositions behind closed doors. It eventually will collate the information, probably release the transcripts. They have a history of releasing them two to three weeks out from when they do it after they've exploited the information and done whatever investigation they want to do. A lot of times they do this because they maybe someone will say something behind closed doors and they don't want another witness to hear about it. They want to interview that witness before they get tipped off to what went on. And so it's a normal investigative tactic for this committee. Now, other committees are different, but oversight has been consistent. I expect that at some point they will release a transcript and we'll see if some of the anonymous leaks about what went on in this deposition are true or not. And then I think you would, I would not be surprised to see one more public Epstein hearing by the Oversight Committee where maybe some of the more interesting witnesses, some of the people who have the most troubling behavior, get called before Congress and forced to answer publicly. So we'll see how that works. But keep in mind the Clintons, lots of people have done depositions, almost all of them in this committee behind closed doors to begin with.
B
John Solomon, great to have you with us. The wisdom of John Solomon. We thank you so much.
M
Good to be with you guys.
A
Thanks, John.
C
Thanks, John.
B
All right, appreciate you. Coming up, we've got AOC talking, so we want to apologize for that. First, she says she has higher ambitions than the White House. So we're going to try to unpack her latest comments after the break. I can't wait. And my mind is going to have to recover afterwards. Back in a moment. All right.
F
Welcome back to American Sunrise. It is time now to drain the swamp. And this morning we are flushing out aoc. New speculation is growing around Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and her political future after comments that are fueling more 2028 presidential buzz. During a public event in Chicago, Ocasio Cortez was asked about possibly running for president, but said her, quote, ambition is way bigger than holding a title or office. The New York Democrat said her goal is to, quote, change this country through policies like single payer health care, higher wages and expanded workers rights. Take a look at what she had to say.
A
They assume that my ambition is a title or a seat. And my ambition is way bigger than that. My ambition is to change this country. And.
F
Presidents come and go, Senate, House seats,
A
elected officials come and go, but single payer healthcare is forever.
F
Okay. Let's discuss more with David Terrence and Dr. Gina Terrence. Want to get your thoughts first on this? The one thing I was thinking is how does this woman find so many mindless people to just clap for her? Like, where did all these people come from? Are they getting paid?
C
They were in the room and they gave her a pity clap and were like, okay, well, since we're here, I guess we have to clap. The reality is if she wants to, as she says, change this country, she's got to be sitting at the table. And there's no better place to sit than at the head of the table. If you really want to make some change, which would be being the president. She's going to run for office. She's going to Definitely run for president. I don't know if she's going to be successful, but she's going to definitely give it a go. And that's her best shot at trying to accomplish that supposed goal. David?
B
Well, I think that would be a horrible move if she decided to run for president. I don't think. She's definitely not ready. Oh, 100%. I think she's going to run for Schumer's seat and she wants to be a United States senator, and that would be the smart play. She's just not ready. She's not ready for primetime at all. Everybody says she has the it factor. Hold on, Timeout. No, she doesn't. Barack Obama had the it factor. And Barack Obama could put a sentence together and he was smart. AOC has neither one of those. And by the way, Emily, to your point. Yeah. The people clapping. Can I just say, the guy in the front row, how about him? Do you see him doing this with. He's patting his chest with the heart. Love that. Love that. Oh, my gosh, it made me throw open my mouth.
A
Gina, if you mean the it factor, like the horror film it factor, she definitely has it.
B
From the Addams Family. That's what I mean.
A
She definitely has that evil it factor. I'll tell you what. If you don't believe that evil is alive and well in this world, and there are religious denominations that honestly don't believe there's evil in the world, all you have to do is watch this. They're in a church, first of all, where she's making that speech. And then single payer healthcare, I mean, oh, girl. I mean, she reeks of everything. Slimy and smarmy and evil and dumb. David, I think you make such a key point there. How dumb do you have to be to believe that single payer healthcare is a good idea? Just let's start there. How dumb do you have to be to believe that the people you say you advocate for actually benefit from the programs you advocate for? Case and point. California, New York, every single city run by Democrats. What happens there? The people get poorer, the families break apart, the socioeconomic level plummets. Their faith in whatever faith becomes nothing. It's the saddest thing in the world what Democrat policies have done to this country, county by county. And look, the blood is on her hands. And she's gonna see the inside of a church again someday. And it's not gonna look like this to her.
B
Yeah. Can I just say one. Go ahead, Go ahead, Terry.
C
Go ahead, go ahead. No, I Was just gonna say I think she is gonna run. I agree with you that she's not ready, but I think she's going to run just to, just to increase her, her profile, just to heighten her profile. And she's trying to play a long game. That's just my gut feeling. Go ahead.
A
A drop back plan?
B
Yeah, I think she's playing the long game by running for the Senate first and then president. She'll run. I just don't think it's now. Also, one last thing. How stupid do you have to be to say I've got higher ambitions than the President's presidency? So if you want to change the world, wouldn't you wait for it? Run for president.
C
Run for president.
B
I mean, what.
A
But I kind of agree with her on that one, David. I mean look, we have President Trump. Most of us worked our entire lives to elect President Trump or someone like him and here he is now and we can't codify anything. I mean, you know, I hate to say it, but she makes a little bit of a point. I think what she meant was I'm going to stay in the political arena and have impact every way I can. And it's going to be beyond president, which is a really scary thought if you stop and think about it.
B
Okay. But I just want to say that if you're president of the United States, you have the ultimate bully pulpit. And if you want to talk about single payer health care, then you become president and you make it your signature issue just like Obama did on many things. And you, and that's what you do to affect change.
A
She's on elect. That's what you president though, so. And she.
B
100%. Oh, 100%.
F
Okay, well don't give her any notes, David.
A
Okay, thank you.
F
Coming up, fight over redistricting in Tennessee. The NAACP is suing over a new congressional map that would split Memphis only majority black district. And now one state lawmaker is floating the idea of Memphis seceding. Whoa. We'll have those details after the break. You don't want to miss this. Stay with us.
C
This is a view from the top of the Washington Monument. Our nation's capital really is a gorgeous city. I mean I know that it's become very swampy in terms of the people there, but the city itself is really gorgeous. It's a beautiful lake out city. Welcome back everyone. We're getting ready for the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. It's set to ring here in just a few minutes. The futures looking kind of mixed this Morning. As you can see here, the Dow is up, but the rest of our board generally in the red right now. Crude oil is up, as you would expect. Again, we'll take you to Washington for the opening bell here in just a few minutes. First, though, let's get you over to David Brody. David, I suspect that you would agree with me that DC in general is just in terms of architecture and layout, truly is a gorgeous city. It's a stunning place.
B
100% agree with you that it's a beautiful city. Now, you did say the words beautiful, laid out city. Now, I know what you meant when you said beautiful laid out city meant architecture and all that. But let me just say, when I heard laid out, beautiful, laid out city, I thought traffic and I thought patterns and those circles, and the French designed the city, and it is madness. The French don't know a lick about designing anything. So let me just say. Oh, my gosh, it's horrible to get around dc. You could have a gps, Google Maps. Doesn't matter. DC Is horrible for getting around. But anyhow, it is beautiful. I'm sorry.
C
Take the Metro. You'll be fine.
B
Take the Metro. Correct. All right, T. Bates. Thanks. Sorry, I just went off there. I apologize. A major redistricting battle now heading to the courts in Tennessee, where the NAACP is suing to block a new congressional map passed by the Republican legislature. So the lawsuit challenges a new map that would break up Tennessee's only majority black congressional district in Memphis. It's a move critics call racial gerrymandering. State lawmakers are also pushing back here with Tennessee State Representative Antonio Parkinson calling for the city of Memphis to secede based on this ruling. Take a look.
C
And if that is the case, let me make it easier for you. Let Memphis secede from the state of Tennessee. You don't have to redraw maps when you let us out.
Q
Let my people go.
C
And I'm dead serious.
B
Joining me now with analysis, the host of America's Voice Live and the Steve Gruber Show. Steve Gruber. Steve, Let my people go. Would you like to secede from the show right about now?
R
That's it. I'm packing my bags.
B
I'm out. Okay.
R
Good Lord. I mean, let's.
B
Let's focus.
R
The first most glaring problem of the argument is this district in Tennessee. The only black district in Tennessee, as they put it, is represented by who? Steve Cohen. An old white.
B
I didn't even know that.
R
Yeah, an old white guy represents that district for 20 years. And the leading candidate from the Republicans to win that district is a black woman. Let me tell you something, David. Here's what really frightens Democrats. It's not redistricting. It's redistricting with black Republicans winning. Because suddenly all those Democrats, black constituents that have voted Democrat for years and say, wait, there's an alternative. Hey, I like her. And all of a sudden this hold, this lock they've had on this voting block goes away. That's what I think is their biggest problem. You know, look, black Republicans are gonna be. If the Black Congressional Caucus is mostly Republicans, Democrats, their heads will explode. I mean, let's just be honest about it.
B
Yeah, no doubt about it, Steve. Sadly, we have like a minute left. How did we run out of time anyhow? All right, so here's the next question. The gas tax. President Trump says he wants to suspend federal gas taxes. What do you think? What is that, about 18 cents a gallon? What do you think's gonna happen?
R
Something like that? I don't know what's gonna happen. My bigger question is the United States right now is setting all time records, David. 5.3 million barrels a day of oil that we're exporting, plus finished product, gasoline and diesel. Maybe the president could say, you know, wait a second, let's put America first. Let's not export five and a half million barrels a day. All time record is 3.9 billion a million barrels here just a few weeks ago. Now you're at five and a half million. Maybe we should keep that product here and keep our prices lower. That, that's my thought. I mean, he can pick up the red phone and call his friends at the oil companies who are setting record profits, by the way. Shell. $7 billion profit for the first quarter. Who's making money here? Not me and not you. We're in the wrong business, David, I can tell you. Tell you that.
B
100% for sure. 475 where I'm at, by the way, and continuing to prime. Steve. Yeah. Great to have you, my friend. You're like the human version of cowbell. We want more Steve Gruber. More cowbell here, but we've got a roll. Thank you, sir. You're the best.
R
Thank you.
B
All right. T. Bates. Speaking of the best. T. Bates, he's also the best. And he's sponsored by amac, the association

We're less than a minute away from the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. We're going to take you there live. In fact, the applause is already underway. You'll hear it momentarily. And then we'll get you ready for the bell which is going to ring here shortly and get an idea of how this Tuesday of trading ultimately looks. All right, so here we go, ladies and gentlemen, the opening bell set to ring here momentarily. And then we'll see how the markets are ultimately looking. Right on cue, there you have it. The bell is ringing and the markets are now officially open. There's a scurry of activity on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange as those first trades and those first sales are being made. Here's a quick look at our board. As you can see, top to bottom, not looking so great right now, especially when it comes to the indices. The dow S&P 500 and the NASDAQ are all in the red to start this day of trading. Just a couple of bright spots, a couple of green areas, crude oil being among them. It is up, which means that you're going to pay a little bit more for gas, very likely. But as you just heard David talking about, President Trump is considering stopping or at least cutting the federal gas tax, which would be about 18 cents a gallon for regular gas and about 24 cents a gallon for diesel. So that very well may help some of the pain that you're experiencing at the pump. Here's a question for you. Do you owe back taxes or have unfiled tax returns? Did you file every year, but you still keep owing? Maybe you retired and you got hit with a surprise tax bill? Are you a business owner with a tax bill that you just can't afford? Lots of questions here. Did you take Earth early money from our from your 401k? And now you owe. However your tax issue started, the result is the same. Your balance isn't going down anytime soon. Penalties are growing, and interest is compounding. Many of you are about to owe yet again this year with no plan in place. So stop what you're doing right now and call Tax Network usa. The IRS can garnish your wages. They can levy bank accounts. They can even take your home or your retirement. With over 15 years in business, the Tax Network USA folks have seen and resolved pretty much any sort of tax issue you might bring to them. And helping taxpayers nationwide settle over a billion dollars in tax debt is what they've already accomplished. So call 800-905-8000. That's 800-905-8000. Let's take a quick break. When we come back here on American Sunrise, a stark new generational divide over the American job market is happening. A new poll finds that younger adults are far more pessimistic about their future than older Americans. You have to stick around to hear the numbers that's next.

All right.
A
Welcome back to American sunrise. I'm Dr. G. We're glad you joined us this morning. We invite you to hop on in our conversation over on YouTube, getter and rumble where we chat about all the things. Got to get yourself in there. We want you there. It is time now to take the political pulse of America. Here's the beat today, the new poll. A new poll is revealing growing generational divide in how Americans view the job market. Younger adults are becoming more pessimistic about their future. According to a new Gallup survey, just 43% of Americans age 15 to 34 say it's a good time to find a job, compared to 64% of adults 55 and older. That 21 point gap is now the largest generational divide of any country surveyed. Researchers say younger Americans increasingly worried about high housing costs, student debt, AI replacing entry level jobs, competitive hiring market that many feel is just plain stacked against them. Older Americans who already own homes are or are near retirement, remain far more optimistic about the economy. Joining us now with reaction, Florida Congressman Jimmy Petronas. And Congressman, you Serve on the Small Business Committee. So you probably hear a lot of stuff like this. I know just talking to my own children, they say their friends are discouraged. You know, we take a different route. In my family, I kind of subscribe to the Charlie Kirk school of thought, where you raise your children, you establish a business for them. Instead of sending them off to college and spending hundreds of thousands of dollars, you get them established in business. So for my kids, that has worked really, really well. But that doesn't mean that they feel like they can go out and buy their own houses, buy their own cars. To that generation, did Gen Z. My children tell me that their friends say they don't think the American dream is attainable. I don't remember anyone in my generation talking that way. And we struggled, but I don't remember that.
I
So, look, I grew up in the restaurant business at 10 years old. Now, again, like what you said, a family business provides unique opportunities. But I would plead with parents that when I was in the restroom, give me your kid when he turns 15. Let me let him bus tables, let me make him a host. It is so empowering when they get that first paycheck in their hand and they get to do what they want to do with it. And it gives them a focus that if I show up, if I work, then I can do the things. I'm empowered to make my own decisions with my own money that I earned. And unfortunately, I don't think that encouragement to enter into the workforce at 15 and 16 is quite as urgent as it was when I was growing up.
B
Yeah, no doubt about that.
L
And then.
A
And then they'll treat people well the rest of their lives if they do go and make money. I think it's such a critical point that you make, Congressman, that children need to work in a service industry when they're young, because if they become successful, you want them to always see everybody as equals and to always treat people with that kind respect. Because I can't stand when I go someplace and I see people mistreating people. That was.
I
And to your other point, to me, home ownership is the best force for good. When somebody can own a home, amazing things happen. They start to do things like show up to work. They start to care about the community. They start thinking about what schools are close to, the home that I bought, and is that where I really want to send my kids? And the parent empowerment then starts to become more of a force for good in creating a stronger community. Strong families make strong communities. But really it starts when you've Got a home where you're getting to set your roots in place. And so there's things that we're doing in Washington right now to try to help homeownership. But look, it is what it is right now. Cost per square foot of construction is higher, but I'm a little bit biased. Everybody wants to be in Florida. So that definitely creates some excitement in
B
the housing market, no doubt. And we're talking about the housing market, which makes me think, of course, the economy. And that makes me think of the midterms. And here we are. So let's talk about those midterms specifically. You've got House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. He's confident, he's confident Democrats are going to come out the victors in the House even with all these redistricting losses on their side. Here he is out outlining his agenda or the Democrat Party's agenda, excuse me, on this program called msnow. Just kidding. This network called msnow. Take a look.
Q
We've got to, for instance, make sure we pass the John Robert Lewis Voting Rights Advancement act so we can end the era of voter suppression in the United States of America once and for all. We have to end Citizens United, dramatically reform our campaign finance laws to stop the ability of these deep pocketed special interests to intervene. And we are going to have to explore massive judicial reform state by state and at the federal level. And everything should be on the table as far as I'm concerned.
B
I don't know if that's chalk on a blackboard or Charlie Brown's teacher, but it's just, oh, gosh, please make it stop. What do you think, Congressman? Are Democrats going to pull this off? Are they going to win? What do you think?
I
So look, Hakeem comes from New York State where nobody is moving to right now. The failed policies of the state have mass exodus of quality people. And you know what? In the money that they have and their investment they have and they're coming to states afforded, would treat them with respect, with safety and with dignity. And that doesn't exist. So his policies he's advocating for, I don't know who he's selling it to, but you can see what's happening in his own backyard is a colossal failure of leadership. And then you look at what's happened in Virginia. The solution that the Democrats have right now to try to change their, their language that was struck down by the Supreme Court is less change the retirement age for Virginia supreme court justices to 54. So every Supreme Court justice that voted on this Provision would have to be thrown out. This is the type of craziness that exists in Washington right now. We have a razor thin majority. Thank goodness. The good outweighs the bad.
C
Congressman, you've been selling Florida hard. You've definitely been bigging up your state and I understand it. So I want to bring your attention to your governor there, Ron DeSantis, who took aim at the communist regime in Cuba over the weekend during his remarks. He basically, or those remarks, excuse me, coming during a bill signing event in Florida which placed new restrictions on Cuban linked businesses that are operating there in the Sunshine State in violation of US Sanctions against the country. Here's exactly what he had to say, his comments, and then we'll talk on the other side.
Q
Cuba had been taken over by a dictator, a communist dictator. And they knew that that meant the country was going to go in the toilet as a result of that. And so they were fighting to try to liberate the island from the dictatorship. And they were on the right side of history to do that. And so here we are now, decades later, and we can say that not only were they on the right side, it's been even worse than anyone could have imagined. If you look at the state of Cuba today and in 2026, it is time for the Cuban Communist dictatorship to be put out to pasture once and for all.
C
Congressman, I'm curious what actions you'd support being taken against the communist regime there in Cuba.
I
So look, I agree with the governor that it's time for there to be a regime change, but also just a political change, a democratic free election. That'd be a novel idea to start off with. But what you've got, you essentially got a Mafia, Mafia boss running. Raul Castro is still in power, still calling the shots. All those that are wrapped around Raul Castro are just doing his bidding. And look, until probably he dies, there's probably not going to be a change in what takes place. But as the United States has been able to assert itself more in the Northern and Western hemisphere, we're starting to affect how Cuba's doing business. Russia stretched. Then all of Cuba's typical allies are not wanting to gauge against the will of the United States because they also know what's taking place in Cuba's morally wrong their families living in Florida who have properties still identified in Cuba that companies like Airbnb are monetizing. These are stolen assets that the Cuban government is now profiting from with us other US Corporations. So, yeah, there's a lot of things being cleaned up. And watch Marco Rubio, this is near and dear and personal to him. I think Marco will be more and more a leader on this particular issue as we start to transition Cuba from the dictatorship to a representative Republican form of government.
A
Congressman, President Trump reportedly considering making Venezuela part of the United States. In a phone call with Fox News, he said he's eyeing Venezuela as a potential 51st states. That's a quote state, that's a quote, motivated by the estimated $40 trillion worth of oil in the country. I think that might play a role. Adding that the country's citizens love Trump. Apparently he knows this. Congressman, where do you stand on this?
I
Look, I think the president is always out there looking out for the UX US Citizen. Our investments are what our taxpayers are spending money on. So the fact that he floats these ideas, he floats a lot of ideas. I love that he does. And some of them stick and they can become the new law of the land. Some of them get debated and morph into something that's bigger and better than he ever would have imagined. So anyway, I love where the president's going. Keep on. Mr. President.
B
Yeah.
A
David Brody, when he says these articles to us, he always has to write in the thread, you know, as we're looking through them for the next day show, he always has to write this is not the Babylon be President Trump actually really did say this cracks me up. Anyway, Congressman Jimmy Petrotes, thank you so much for being with us.
I
Great to be with you. Take care, guys.
A
You too.
B
Thanks, Congressman.

A
Okay, you guys go right now. Download this song. This will secure your chance to win free trip to Dallas to join all of us and all the fun. Let's push this up the charts, you guys. Coming up, David Brody standing by with the top story he's keeping his eye on today. The one to watch right after the break. All right, welcome back to American sunrise. I'm Dr. G. So glad you are with us today and every day. And I love when people come in the chat and say, oh, this is my first time here, but I'm going to stay here. We're family now. I love that one to watch. David, what do you have for us today? What are you keeping your eyes on?
B
Well, check out this survey. This is what I'm looking at. It's pretty alarming. It shows as many as one in four Americans believe that that most recent assassination attempt on President Trump was actually staged. This, it's a news guard survey. It shows that roughly one in three Democrat voters reject the official reports about that shooting. One in eight Republican voters agree with them. Anyhow, it goes on. So I'm curious to get your take on this because to me, first of all, Democrats, liberals, need to now stop saying that Republicans, conservatives, whatever you want to call them, maga are the only ones dabbling in conspiracy theories when more Democrats believe that this was all a hoax and staged rather than conservatives, number one. Number two, I mean, look, I think we need to be very. I'm all good. I'm all in for a good conspiracy theory. And let's be honest, many of those conspiracy theories have come true. But I think we also need to be careful. It's kind of like a prophet, right? I mean, you know, when a prophet is wrong. Once you're no longer a prophet, you got to be very, very careful when you're just embracing any sort of conspiracy theory. Like this, for example. This was not staged. It's ridiculous. And if you start to tell me it is staged, then I'm not gonna trust you on a lot of things. And if you're talking about Jesus and you wanna convince me that the Gospels are true, then I don't know if I'm gonna believe you. If you can't even get this type of stuff right, I'm just saying you gotta be careful. That's all I wanna say.
C
Yeah, I think that's all fair. And I think the fact that that security was so lax gives rise to these sorts of conspiracy theories. Because people just can't believe that this kind of thing would happen in this day and age. Just. Just another little perspective.
A
Yeah. Well, you guys, war room is coming up next, so hug your children, love God, go boldly live the truth. We'll see you manana tomorrow.
C
Deuce.
A
It.
